Coors Field would help that, though, making Jones an interesting late-round upside play in fantasy if he can get the playing time.

Jones will get a day off after he went 2-for-10 with a double and two runs scored in the first three games of the series. Franmil Reyes will slide over to right field while Josh Naylor handles designated hitter and bats third versus Chicago.

Jones is out of the lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the White Sox.

Following his call-up from Triple-A Columbus on Friday, Jones proceeded to start in right field in each of the Guardians' last five games, including the team's 4-1 win in Game 1 of the twin bill. Ernie Clement will enter the starting nine in his stead in Game 2, but Jones should be secure in an everyday role for the time being. Even after an 0-for-3 showing in the early game, Jones is still getting on base at a .526 clip through his first five big-league contests.

Jones went 2-for-3 with a double, four RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 8-4 win over the White Sox.

Jones knocked a two-run single during Cleveland's five-run first inning. He then drilled a two-run double in the fifth. Jones has produced three multi-hit games through four career MLB appearances, giving him a terrific .538/.625/.923 slash line. Jones has three extra-base hits and eight RBI through 16 career plate appearances.

Jones went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a pair of walks in Saturday's 13-1 win over the Royals.

Jones' first major-league homer was a no-doubter, a 109.2 mph rocket with an estimated distance of 457 feet to right-center field off Royals reliever Jackson Kowar. Considering Jones has only three homers among 10 extra-base hits in 23 games with Triple-A Columbus this year, the display of power Saturday was a little stunning. The 24-year-old is 4-for-7 with a home, four RBI, a double and two walks through his first two games for the Guardians, and he's played time in right field after coming up through the minors as a third baseman. If the bat stays hot, manager Terry Francona may need to try Jones at multiple positions in an effort to keep him in the lineup, though the rookie's defense is not his best tool.

Jones went 2-for-3 with an RBI double in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Royals.

Jones laced an RBI double off of Brady Singer in his first career MLB at-bat Friday. He finished the day with a pair of hits before Oscar Mercado pinch-ran for him in the seventh inning. The 24-year-old posted an impressive .917 OPS through 23 games with Triple-A Columbus prior to his call-up.

Jones was recalled from Triple-A Columbus on Friday.

Jones slashed .311/.417/.500 with three homers, 25 RBI, 21 runs and four stolen bases in Columbus to begin the season, and he'll make his major-league debut Friday against the Royals while starting in right field and batting seventh. Since Oscar Gonzalez (abdomen) is on the injured list, Jones should have a chance to carve out playing time in right field in the near future.

Jones will be recalled by the Guardians on Friday, Guardians Prospective reports.

While nothing has been confirmed, there are rumblings that Jones will join the Guardians in Kansas City, perhaps to step in to right field while Oscar Gonzalez (abdomen) is on the injured list. A second-round pick in 2016, Jones has improved significantly on his line with Triple-A Columbus in his second go-around at that level, slashing .311/.417/.500. He's been limited to just 23 games this season, however, due to ankle and back issues. Jones is already on the 40-man roster.

Jones (ankle/back) will make his season debut at Triple-A Columbus on Monday.

Jones underwent left ankle surgery during the offseason and also dealt with a lower-back injury that prevented him from appearing in any games to begin the 2022 campaign. However, he slashed .238/.356/.431 with 13 homers, 60 runs, 48 RBI and 10 stolen bases over 99 games in Columbus last year and will have a chance to pick up where he left off now that he's back to full health.

Jones (ankle) has progressed to throwing from 150 feet, hitting in the batting cage and shagging fly balls in the outfield at extended spring training in Arizona, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Jones' start to the 2022 season has been delayed by his continued rehab from left ankle surgery as well as a lower-back issue, but he's said to be free of symptoms of both injuries. Since he's not yet taking part in live batting practice or full fielding drills, he's likely still multiple weeks away from making his 2022 debut for Triple-A Columbus. Once healthy, Jones is expected to see reps at third base and right field at Columbus, where he slashed .238/.356/.431 over 407 plate appearances a season ago.

Triple-A Columbus placed Jones (ankle) on its 7-day injured list April 5.

Jones was cleared to resume baseball activities in spring training, but he's not yet ready to test his surgically-repaired left ankle in games. Before getting surgery last September, Jones logged 407 plate appearances for Columbus and produced a .238/.356/.431 slash line across 99 games.

Jones suffered the injury in late August. He'll finish the year with a .238/.356/.431 slash line in 99 games for Triple-A Columbus. He homered 13 times and stole 10 bases but also struck out 30.0 percent of the time. He's expected to be ready to go by spring training.

Jones was placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list with a left ankle sprain Thursday.

Jones exited Sunday's game at Triple-A Columbus due to his ankle injury and hasn't made any appearances since then. The 23-year-old had reached base safely in each of his last 11 games and slashed .372/.462/.581 with two home runs, three doubles, 16 runs, seven RBI and a stolen base during that time. It's not yet clear whether he'll miss more than the minimum of seven days.

Jones was removed from Triple-A Columbus' game Sunday against Memphis with a left ankle sprain.

The third baseman/outfielder went 1-for-4 with a walk before departing with the injury. Over 99 games at Columbus this season, Jones is hitting .238 with 13 home runs and 10 steals while striking out in 30 percent of his plate appearances.
