He is set to throw two bullpen sessions per week for a few weeks and then progress to a rehab assignment. That won't leave him much time to return during the regular season, though manager Bud Black told the media that both the team and Feltner believe it's important for him to get back on the mound prior to the winter to clear any mental hurdles that may be the result of his injury.

Despite the strong recent performances, he still carries a 4.68 ERA and 1.48 WHIP, and that's with four of his five starts so far coming on the road. Feltner's next turn in the rotation lines up for a Coors Field start next week against the Brewers.

Feltner (1-2) earned the win over Philadelphia on Thursday, pitching 5.2 scoreless innings during which he gave up three hits and three walks while striking out six batters.

Feltner had a rough go his previous trip to the mound, giving up five runs in 3.2 innings. He rebounded nicely Thursday, falling one out shy of a quality start and keeping the Phillies off the scoreboard. He struggled with his control again, issuing exactly three free passes for the third straight game, but balanced that by giving up just three hits, all of which were singles. Feltner has shown some decent strikeout stuff this season with 21 punchouts across 19 frames, but it's hard to be optimistic about his chances for sustained success given that he's also handed out 14 walks. Getting a better handle on his control will be key for the right-hander to further improve upon his 6.16 ERA.

Feltner (0-2) took the loss against Seattle on Saturday, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five batters over 3.2 innings.

Feltner made it through three frames without allowing any damage on the scoreboard, but the fourth proved disastrous for him. The right-hander served up a solo homer to Eugenio Suarez to begin the inning and allowed five more baserunners in the frame, four of whom came around to score. Feltner won a spot in the Rockies' Opening Day rotation and will start the team's fifth game of the season Monday in Los Angeles versus the Dodgers, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Feltner made 21 starts for the Rockies over the past two seasons, but he'll be included in the Opening Day rotation for the first time despite turning in a rough showing in the Cactus League (9.92 ERA, 2.20 WHIP, 10:10 K:BB in 16.1 innings). He built up to 85 pitches in his final spring outing Monday and shouldn't face any major workload restrictions in his first start of the regular season, but Feltner's recent form won't make him a comfortable streaming option while he faces off against what projects to be a strong Dodgers lineup.

Feltner was done in by a bad second inning, in which he allowed an RBI single to Austin Wynns and a grand slam to Ford Proctor. Feltner hadn't allowed more than five runs in a start since Aug. 14, though he gave up at least three runs in five of his last seven outings. The 26-year-old right-hander now has a 6.01 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 80:33 K:BB through 91.1 innings this season. He's lined up for one more start in 2022, a road date with the Dodgers next week.

Feltner (2-8) gave up four earned runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three over 2.2 innings to take the loss in a 12-6 defeat against the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Feltner struggled with his control and issued four free passes in the third inning. The walks ran up his pitch count and led to a four-run inning before he was given the early hook. Feltner threw only 37 of his 70 pitches for strikes and his ERA rose to 6.12 with the poor outing. Feltner has issued 28 walks in 75 innings pitched this season. He is tentatively expected to make his next start on the road against the Cubs.

Feltner (2-6) took the loss against Atlanta on Wednesday, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings.

There were multiple positive takeaways for Feltner in the contest -- he tied a career high with seven strikeouts and fell one out shy of a quality start -- but he was outpitched by league wins leader Kyle Wright. Feltner's undoing was the long ball, as the three runs against him were produced on homers by Austin Riley and Ronald Acuna. Feltner has shown promise at times this season, but he's too inconsistent to trust in fantasy given his 5.78 ERA and 1.42 WHIP on the season.

Feltner threw 51 of 80 pitches across four frames Sunday. He did not allow any home runs, but the Twins were able to play small-ball, picking up three runs on singles, one on a triple and another on a sac fly. In 16.2 innings this month, the righty has allowed 16 earned runs, for an 8.64 ERA. He will take a 6.15 season ERA into his next appearance.

Feltner allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and zero walks over 3.2 innings during Tuesday's 9-8 loss to the Marlins. He had four strikeouts and didn't factor in the decision.

Colorado jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but Feltner fell apart during the fourth inning, as he gave up five runs on five hits and an error before being pulled with two outs. The 25-year-old threw 47 of his 71 pitches for strikes and didn't issue a walk for the first time in six starts this year, though he did hit a batter. Feltner has replaced Austin Gomber in the Rockies' starting rotation for now, but his rotation spot is hardly secure with a 5.46 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 31:7 K:BB through 29.2 innings this season.

Feltner will remain in Colorado's starting rotation and will pitch Tuesday at Miami, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Feltner has a 4.85 ERA through five starts this season but has two quality starts in his past three outings, and he'll receive a longer look in the Rockies' rotation. The Rockies will end up turning to Feltner to fill the void after he submitted a 5.85 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 23:6 K:BB across 20 innings in his first four outings of the season with the big club.

Feltner was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

Feltner's record dropped to 1-2 following Sunday's start against Atlanta, as he allowed six runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three in three innings. However, the right-hander posted a 2.25 ERA and 0.83 WHIP over 12 innings in his two starts prior to Sunday's outing, so he should still be in the mix to start next week when the Rockies need a sixth starter during Saturday's doubleheader in San Diego.

Feltner (1-1) picked up his first career win in the majors Monday, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over seven innings in a 7-1 victory over the Marlins. He struck out six.

Aside from a towering 496-foot solo homer by Jesus Sanchez in the second inning -- the longest home run hit this season, and the longest ever by a left-handed hitter in Coors Field -- Feltner shut down Miami's bats over 94 pitches (62 strikes). The performance should buy him some extra time in the Rockies' rotation as he looks to prove he deserves a full-time starting role, and through three outings this season he boasts an impressive 3.71 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 20:5 K:BB through 17 innings.

Feltner is listed as the Rockies' scheduled starting pitcher for Monday's game against the Marlins at Coors Field.

Feltner will be rewarded with a second turn through the Colorado rotation after he struck out seven and allowed two runs over five innings in a no-decision May 25 in Pittsburgh. Whether the rookie right-hander sticks around with the big club beyond Monday's outing will likely hinge on the health of starters Antonio Senzatela (back) and Kyle Freeland (ankle). Senzatela made a four-inning rehab start at Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday and could be ready to return from the 15-day injured list as soon as Wednesday, while Freeland's status for the upcoming week is murkier after he suffered a left ankle impingement during his start Sunday against the Nationals.

Feltner was starting in place of Antonio Senzatela (back) and put together an impressive performance. Feltner has been impressive in two opportunities to make spot starts this season, maintaining a 14:4 K:BB across 10 innings despite a 5.40 ERA. He is currently projected to take at least one more turn through the rotation.

The Rockies recalled Feltner from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday in Pittsburgh.

He'll be joining the rotation as a replacement for Antonio Senzatela (back), who remains on the 15-day injured list but is expected to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment this weekend. As such, Feltner's stint with the Rockies could be short-lived, and he may not be asked to work deep into Wednesday's start since he'll be pitching on three days' rest. He struck out seven over three scoreless innings in his most recent outing for Albuquerque on Saturday.

Colorado will likely wait until Wednesday to officially add Feltner to the 26-man roster while removing another player from the roster in a corresponding move. His most recent appearance in the minors was a three-inning outing Saturday, so Feltner could face some light restrictions with his workload Wednesday while taking the hill on three days' rest rather than the standard four. Feltner's stay in the Colorado rotation is unlikely to last more than a week or two, as Antonio Senzatela (back) is close to heading out on a rehab assignment and should be ready to return from the 10-day injured list by early June to reclaim his starting role with the big club.

The 25-year-old made his major-league debut last season with poor results, allowing eight runs in 6.1 innings over two September starts. In 59 career minor-league starts, he has posted a 3.63 ERA and 9.7 strikeouts per nine innings.

Feltner made his major-league debut in 2021, and he should have the chance to enter the Rockies' rotation at some point in the 2022 campaign.

Feltner tentatively lines up for a road start in Washington next weekend if he stays in the rotation.

Feltner's debut was one he won't want to remember after giving up three home runs before even managing to complete three innings. Ozzie Albies took him deep to right on the first pitch of the game. Feltner then found himself trying to get out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the third and was unable to do so. Austin Riley drove in a run on a sacrifice fly and then Adam Duvall and Travis d'Arnaud followed with back-to-back home runs to make it 6-0 and end Feltner's outing. He should continue to get some looks in the back end of the rotation with the Rockies currently down two starters due to inury.
