Today’s Free NBA Player Props

Every day during the season, our NBA betting experts will identify some of the best player prop bets available.

There are eight NBA games on Thursday’s schedule, including Pistons @ Suns and Thunder @ Timberwolves. Let’s dive into the top player props for today.

Brandon Miller: Over 29.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-105) @ Mavericks

Miller has been instrumental in the Hornets’ strong play this month, and with his efficiency and all-around game improving, he’s beginning to look like a real All-Star talent. Since Jan. 1, he’s averaging 21.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists on .486/.444/.902 shooting splits.

Surpassing the over at 29.5 PRA should be fairly easy for him to accomplish in Dallas. He’s done it in six of his last eight appearances – once going over with points alone – despite averaging a touch over 30 minutes per game during the stretch.

Joel Embiid: Over 33.5 Points + Assists (-120) vs. Kings

Don’t look now, but Embiid is playing like a superstar again. The 31-year-old has turned it on since mid-December, averaging 28.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.1 assists over 17 appearances. By no means are the Kings equipped to handle such a force in the post.

Embiid has surpassed this mark in each of his last five games and is going up against a defense that ranks 29th and 28th, respectively, in opponent 2-point makes and percentage, and 21st in opponent assists per game. I feel great about taking the over at -120.

Using the NBA Player Props Grid

From left to right, you’ll find sections for the prop, expected value, cover probability, bet rating, and the best line available. Let’s quickly break down what these mean.

  • Prop: This is the suggested bet. It lists the player name, the prop, and the matchup, complete with date, time, and venue.
  • Expected Value: This is what the grid is sorted by. This number is the difference between the true probability of the event happening and the sportsbook’s odds.
  • Cover Probability: The likelihood of the player prop resulting in a win.
  • Bet Rating: Our ranking of the value of the player prop. Five-star picks are the best and most valuable picks.
  • Best Line: The best odds currently available for the player prop. Our odds grid constantly updates to find the best NBA player prop betting lines.

You’ll also find three dropdown menus above the grid. These allow you to sort by matchup, prop type, and bet rating, respectively. Use these to narrow down your search and find the best player prop available for your specified terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are lots of small details that go into NBA player prop betting. If you still have some questions, read our answers to some common FAQs below.

What are PRA prop bets?

You might see a player prop abbreviated as PRA. This stands for points, rebounds, and assists and is a combination of the three. To determine whether or not you win this type of bet, you’ll need to add up the player’s points, rebounds, and assists and see if they went over or under the projected total.

What happens if a player gets injured or can’t finish a game?

If a player is forced to exit a game early, sportsbooks will often void the pick, meaning it doesn’t count as a win or loss. Instead, you’ll simply get your wager returned to you. If the player hits the over on their prop before exiting the game, it will still be graded as a win.

Do NBA player props count overtime?

Unless otherwise noted, NBA player props do include overtime. This can be good or bad depending on whether you bet the over or under on a player prop.

If you bet the over and a player doesn’t hit the mark until overtime, it’ll still count as a win for you. However, if you bet the under and a player goes over that mark in overtime, it’ll still count as a loss even though they finished regulation with the under.
