Erupts for 27 points in SL win
Mitchell notched 27 points (9-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 8-9 FT), seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block across 28 minutes in Tuesday's 92-75 Summer League win over the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell delivered a well-rounded performance, finishing with a game-high mark in points. The 23-year-old point guard also tied the team-high marks in both rebounds and steals. The 2024 second-round pick has helped lead the Thunder to a 3-0 record in the Las Vegas Summer League, scoring at least 20 points in two of his three appearances.

Stuffs stat sheet in SL win
Mitchell amassed 19 points (6-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-7 FT), eight assists, five rebounds and two steals across 26 minutes in Tuesday's 86-82 Summer League loss to Utah.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell led the Thunder in scoring while dishing out a game-best eight assists, albeit in a losing effort. The 23-year-old point guard has now tallied at least 16 points and five assists in all three of the Thunder's Summer League outings. While Oklahoma City boasts considerable backcourt depth, Mitchell could carve out a consistent role in the club's rotation during the 2025-26 campaign and will likely compete for minutes with Nikola Topic behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Stuffs stat sheet in SL win
Mitchell tallied 16 points (3-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 9-9 FT), five rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal across 25 minutes in Monday's 89-78 Summer League win over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell couldn't match his impressive scoring performance from Saturday, when he poured in 24 points on 55.6 percent shooting, but he made a strong all-around impact in Monday's win. The guard saw a decent amount of action as a rookie during the 2024-25 regular season, averaging 6.5 points on 49.5 percent shooting in 16.6 minutes across 36 games, including one start. The Thunder have a deep roster but clearly value Mitchell, having signed him to a three-year, $9 million deal this offseason.

Looks great despite loss
Mitchell logged 24 points (10-18 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six assists, one rebound and one steal across 27 minutes of Saturday's 92-80 G League loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell just recently agreed to terms on a three-year deal worth nearly $9 million to re-sign with the Thunder, and if Saturday was any indication, he could be a bargain at that rate. The 23-year-old appeared in 36 regular-season contests during his rookie season, posting averages of 6.5 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists across 16.6 minutes per game. Oklahoma City's backcourt rotation will be even more crowded with the team looking to incorporate Nikola Topic, but Mitchell likely made a strong impression on the coaching staff Saturday.

Expected to sign with OKC
Mitchell intends to sign a three-year, $9 million contract with the Thunder, Shams Charania of ESPN reports Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell is expected to return to Oklahoma City on a longer-term deal after the club declined its team option in his contract for 2025-26. The 23-year-old appeared in 36 regular-season outings (one start) during his rookie season, averaging 6.5 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists across 16.6 minutes per game.
Jun 23, 2025
Makes cameo Sunday
Mitchell tallied no counting stats in one minute during Sunday's 103-91 win over Indiana in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell saw brief action in Sunday's championship win but didn't record a stat. The rookie appeared in just over half of Oklahoma City's playoff games, playing in 12 of 23 and averaging 7.0 minutes in those contests. During the regular season, he averaged 6.5 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 16.6 minutes across 36 games, including one start.

Tallies nine points in return
Mitchell (toe) recorded nine points (4-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five assists and one steal across 18 minutes in Friday's 145-111 win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Suiting up for the first time since Jan. 3 after a lengthy recovery from surgery to address a right big toe sprain, Mitchell ended up taking on a decent-sized role off the bench while the Thunder held out seven rotation players with what appear to be minor injuries. With Oklahoma City having already clinched the league's best record, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (shin), Jalen Williams (hip), Cason Wallace (shoulder), Alex Caruso (ankle), Luguentz Dort (knee), Chet Holmgren (back) and Isaiah Hartenstein (Achilles) could all remain out for Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Pelicans, or at least have their minutes kept in check in advance of the playoffs. Mitchell could thus be in line for a similar or larger workload Sunday, though the rookie second-round pick won't be guaranteed a regular spot in the rotation during the postseason when the Thunder are at full strength.
Apr 10, 2025
Lifted from injury report
Mitchell (toe) will be available for Friday's game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell is in line for his first action since Jan. 3 after putting toe surgery behind him. The Thunder could keep a close eye on his playing time considering his long absence, though the backcourt will be thin Friday after the team announced Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (shin), Alex Caruso (ankle), Cason Wallace (shoulder) and Luguentz Dort (knee) are all out.
Apr 9, 2025
Won't play against Phoenix
Mitchell (toe) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell will miss a 46th consecutive game for the Thunder as he recovers from toe surgery. The next opportunity for him to return to the lineup will be Friday against the Jazz.
Apr 7, 2025
Ruled out for Tuesday
Mitchell (toe) won't play Tuesday against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell hasn't take the court since Jan. 3 while on the mend from toe surgery. His next chance to suit up will arrive Wednesday in Phoenix.
Apr 5, 2025
Won't play vs. LAL
Mitchell (toe) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell will miss a 44th consecutive game for the Thunder while recovering from toe surgery. The next chance for him to return to the floor for Oklahoma City will be Tuesday against the Lakers.
Apr 3, 2025
Remaining out for Friday
Mitchell (toe) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell hasn't played since Jan. 3 after undergoing a procedure to address the turf toe sprain in his right big toe. There's no clear timetable for the rookie second-round pick's return, though his next chance to feature will come Sunday against the Lakers.
Feb 6, 2025
Signs two-year deal with OKC
Mitchell was converted from a two-way deal Thursday to a two-year contract with the Thunder, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell hasn't played a game for the Thunder since undergoing a procedure on his right big toe in January, but that didn't stop the team from securing his future by inking him to a two-year deal. Although he still needs a considerable amount of time before he can be cleared to play again for Oklahoma City, the move to convert him from a two-way deal to a two-year contract makes him eligible to play in the NBA playoffs, Bobby Marks of ESPN.com reports. Adding Mitchell to the playoff roster will give the squad some depth as they try to go the distance in the postseason. In 34 games this season, the 22-year-old guard is averaging 6.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
Jan 10, 2025
Set to miss time
Mitchell underwent a procedure on his turf toe sprain on his right foot and will be re-evaluated in 10 to 12 weeks, Andrew Schlecht of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Thunder will need to pivot, as Mitchell will miss considerable time as he recovers from a procedure on his injured toe. Oklahoma City could give Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins more time on the floor in Mitchell's absence.
Jan 9, 2025
Out again Friday
Mitchell (toe) will not play in Friday's game against the Knicks, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell is slated to miss his third consecutive game due to injury, and prior to his first absence on Jan. 5, he had not missed time at all this season. Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins will likely see more playing time again as a result.
Jan 7, 2025
Sidelined against Cavaliers
Mitchell (toe) is out for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell will be sidelined for a second straight game after suffering a toe injury in Friday's win over the Knicks. His next opportunity to return comes Friday in New York. In Mitchell's absence, the Thunder could give Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins some more playing time, but Oklahoma City's rotation may not be affected very much.
Jan 4, 2025
Ruled out for Sunday
Mitchell (toe) will not play Sunday against Boston.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell exited at the 1:30 mark in the third quarter of Friday's game and did not return, and he was later diagnosed with a toe sprain. It's not a good sign that he's being ruled out a day in advance, so he should be considered questionable at best for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers.
Jan 3, 2025
Working through toe injury
Head coach Mark Daigneault said that Mitchell sprained his toe during the second half of the Thunder's 117-107 win over the Knicks, Nick Gallo of the Thunder's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell checked out at the 1:30 mark in the third quarter of Friday's game and did not return, finishing with eight points (3-6 FG, 2-2 FT) and one rebound across 13 minutes. The rookie second-round pick will have his toe injury evaluated Saturday morning, but it puts him in jeopardy of being sidelined for Sunday's game against the Celtics. Mitchell's absence would likely mean more minutes for Cason Wallace, Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins.
Dec 30, 2024
Notches 17 points
Mitchell ended Sunday's 130-106 win over the Grizzlies with 17 points (6-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, three assists and one steal in 22 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Despite moving back to the bench with Cason Wallace (quadriceps) and Luguentz Dort (ankle) back in the lineup, Mitchell responded with a season-high 17 points, though he was aided by some garbage time in the lopsided win. Mitchell is hard to trust outside of very deep formats when the Thunder are at full strength.
Dec 29, 2024
Back to bench Sunday
Mitchell is not in the Thunder's starting lineup against the Grizzlies on Sunday, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell made his first start of the regular season during Saturday's 106-94 win over the Hornets, and he finished with 10 points, five rebounds and four assists over 32 minutes. He will revert to a reserve role Sunday due to the return of Cason Wallace (quadriceps) and Luguentz Dort (ankle).
Dec 28, 2024
Promoted to starting role
Mitchell is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
The Thunder will be missing two key contributors in Cason Wallace (quadriceps) and Luguentz Dort (ankle), so Mitchell will move into a starting role on the wing. He'll start alongside Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, Aaron Wiggins, Jalen Williams and Isaiah Hartenstein. This will be Mitchell's first start of the campaign. He's averaging 6.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game across 14.1 minutes per game off the bench in December.
Dec 24, 2024
Erupts off bench
Mitchell ended Monday's 123-105 victory over the Wizards with 16 points (6-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 22 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell posted career-high marks in points (16) and rebounds (12), taking advantage of some garbage time during the win. Fantasy managers won't want to overreact to this outlier, as Mitchell is averaging just 13.9 minutes through 10 December contests.
Dec 11, 2024
Plays reduced role in win
Mitchell provided two points (1-3 FG), one rebound, two assists and one steal over 10 minutes during Tuesday's 118-104 win over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell logged just 10 minutes after averaging 18.3 minutes per game in each of the three previous appearances. Despite appearing in every game thus far, Mitchell has served up modest averages of just 5.6 points, 1.7 assists and 0.9 steals in 16.0 minutes per game.
Nov 9, 2024
Solid contribution off bench
Mitchell posted 12 points (5-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, seven assists and three steals in 20 minutes during Friday's 126-107 victory over Houston.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell matched his best scoring total of the season in the win. Oklahoma City's 2024 second-round prospect has appeare din every game but is only averaging 13.9 minutes over nine contests. Unless an injury bolsters his spot on the depth chart, his fantasy viability is limited.
Nov 5, 2024
Sticks in rotation Monday
Mitchell finished with four points (2-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one rebound and one assist over 12 minutes during Monday's 102-86 win over the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell has seen the court in all seven games thus far this season, albeit in a limited role. He is averaging 4.0 points in 13.7 minutes per game, with the majority of his playing time coming in the final quarter of games. While it does appear as though he is going to be an every-night part of the rotation, it is unlikely he touches the floor when it matters.
Oct 12, 2024
Returns to practice
Mitchell was a full participant in Saturday's practice, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell missed the Thunder's previous preseason contest due to an ankle injury but appears to have fully recovered. The rookie guard should be available for Tuesday's preseason matchup with Denver.
Oct 8, 2024
Racks up team-high 19 points Monday
Mitchell notched 19 points (8-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steal across 24 minutes during Monday's 112-107 preseason win over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell exploded for a team-high 19 points while coming off the bench. The No. 38 overall pick of the 2024 Draft was a scoring machine in his final season with UC Santa Barbara, during which he averaged 20.0 points while shooting 50.4 percent from the field 39.3 percent from beyond the arc. Mitchell will likely struggle to find significant playing time buried behind a stacked Thunder backcourt, but he is expected to spend some time in the G League to further develop.
Jul 17, 2024
Sitting out remainder of SL
Mitchell won't play in another Summer League game in order to allow more opportunities for other players, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
The Thunder must have liked what they saw out of Mitchell, feeling good enough about the No. 38 pick in the 2024 NBA draft to shut him down after five Summer League games. The UC Santa Barbara product was signed to a two-way deal and should split time between the NBA and the G League as a rookie.
Jul 15, 2024
Paces scoring attack
Mitchell totaled 21 points (8-14 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block in 25 minutes during Monday's 102-73 Summer League loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell was one of the lone bright spots in a blowout loss, leading the team in scoring by knocking down 57.1 percent of his tries from the field. It was nice to see the 22-year-old bounce back following a 6-for-18 shooting performance from the field Saturday against Toronto.
Jul 8, 2024
Posts polished final line
Mitchell finished with 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks in 28 minutes during Monday's 102-92 loss against the 76ers in the Utah Summer League.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell turned in a strong showing in his first game action since being drafted with the No. 38 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, finishing second on the team in scoring while also stuffing the stat sheet with a team-high three steals and two blocks. The rookie guard should continue to see a healthy helping of opportunities as Summer League play continues.
Jul 6, 2024
Signs two-way contract with OKC
The Thunder signed Mitchell to a two-way contract Saturday.
ANALYSIS
The No. 38 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Mitchell will occupy one of the Thunder's three two-way spots during his first professional season. The 22-year-old guard was a standout performer In his final collegiate season with UC Santa Barbara in 2023-24, averaging 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 50.4 percent from the field and 39.3 percent from downtown. Since he's unlikely to factor into the Thunder's rotation plans as a rookie, Mitchell will likely wind up seeing the majority of his playing time in 2024-25 with the G League's Oklahoma City Blue.
Jun 27, 2024
Selected by OKC at No. 38
Mitchell, via a trade with the Knicks, was selected by the Thunder with the No. 38 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell is a combo guard coming off his junior year at UC Santa Barbara, and he was named to the All-Big West First Team in each of the past two seasons. He led the Big West in points per game (20.0) last season. His mediocre athleticism and shaky shooting until last year likely led to his draft stock being where it is, despite plenty of playmaking and scoring ability. Mitchell will fight for reserve guard minutes on the Thunder as a rookie, which won't be easy to come by.
