Pops for 25 points in win
Mathurin supplied 25 points (7-14 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 7-7 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one steal over 35 minutes during Monday's 116-105 victory over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has now hit multiple three-pointers in all but one game so far, averaging 21.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.2 blocks and 2.8 threes on a 43.0 percent clip across 32.8 minutes in 13 games this season. He figures to be a prominent feature amongst Indiana's offense and will continue to see heavy usage.
Dec 6, 2025
Nets 28 points with six triples
Mathurin provided 28 points (9-16 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals across 38 minutes during Friday's 120-105 win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin had been relatively quiet in his previous two outings, but he busted out of his funk in a big way Friday, serving as the second-leading scorer for the Pacers in the blowout win. Mathurin will look to keep the good times rolling with a favorable matchup with Sacramento on Monday.
Dec 4, 2025
Posts 15 in loss
Mathurin produced 15 points (5-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds and two assists over 28 minutes during Wednesday's 135-120 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has been consistent scoring the ball when he plays, never dipping below double-digits in any outing this season. In 11 games, Mathurin averages 20.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.1 blocks and 2.5 threes on a 40.9 percent clip across 32.1 minutes, seemingly taking advantage of the opportunity with multiple key Pacers contributors out for extended periods.
Nov 29, 2025
Goes for 19 points in win
Mathurin ended Saturday's 103-101 win over the Bulls with 19 points (8-19 FG, 3-10 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists and two steals over 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has been very consistent -- when available -- for the Pacers, and he's scored at least 19 points in all but two of his nine games this season. The small forward should remain one of the most reliable offensive weapons for a struggling Pacers team, and that alone should give him a solid floor in most fantasy formats. Mathurin has attempted at least 15 shots in five of his last seven games since returning from a toe injury in mid-November.
Nov 22, 2025
Scores 21 points in loss
Mathurin chipped in 21 points (7-15 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 37 minutes during Friday's 120-109 loss to the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin missed 11 games due to a toe injury, but he hasn't shown any ill effects of that problem since returning to the court in a 127-112 loss to the Pistons on Monday. Mathurin has scored at least 20 points in his three games since returning to the hardwood while shooting 47.7 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from three in that span. Expect Mathurin to remain one of the Pacers' go-to scoring weapons as long as he stays healthy.
Nov 19, 2025
Double-doubles in victory
Mathurin amassed 24 points (7-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 8-9 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and one steal across 34 minutes in Wednesday's 127-119 win over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin delivered an efficient performance, posting a team-high 24 points in his second straight appearance following an 11-game absence due to a right big toe sprain. He also grabbed a game-high-tying 12 rebounds en route to his second double-double through four regular-season appearances. Mathurin has yet to score fewer than 24 points this season and is expected to continue seeing plenty of looks on an injury-riddled Pacers squad.
Nov 17, 2025
Nets 25 points in return
Mathurin notched 25 points (7-16 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 8-14 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one steal and four turnovers across 25 minutes during Monday's 127-112 defeat to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin got off to a slow start in this one, scoring just two points while missing all three of his field goal attempts through the first half of action, but he completely flipped the script after halftime and went human torch mode during the fourth quarter. He's going to get all the shots he wants on this Pacers team that is desperate for some scoring, so as long as he can stay healthy, he should be primed for a career year.
Nov 17, 2025
Cleared to play Monday
Mathurin (toe) is available for Monday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will shed his questionable tag and return from an 11-game absence due to a sprained right toe. It wouldn't be surprising to see the 23-year-old swingman operate under a minutes restriction Monday, and his return will likely mean less playing time for Ben Sheppard and Taelon Peter. In two regular-season appearances, Mathurin has averaged 31.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 50.0 percent from beyond the arc in 36.5 minutes per contest.
Nov 16, 2025
Upgraded to questionable
Mathurin (toe) has been upgraded to questionable for Monday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has missed the past 11 games for Indiana, but his return is suddenly on the horizon. If he does get the green light, it's fair to expect some type of restrictions early on. But with so many key injuries on the roster, it may not be long before Mathurin's usage rate is through the roof.
Nov 15, 2025
Not ready to return yet
Mathurin (toe) is not ready to return yet but is "getting close," head coach Rick Carlisle told Alex Golden of the 'Setting the Pace' podcast. "He's moving in a good direction," Carlisle said.
ANALYSIS
Carlisle also added that Mathurin did a simulated game type of workout Saturday & went through some things in the prep as well, so it seems the Pacers believe he'll be ready to return in the near future. Mathurin's next chance to play will come Monday against the Raptors, though it's unclear if that game will come too soon for the forward.
Nov 14, 2025
Listed out for Saturday
Mathurin (toe) is out for Saturday's game against Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin remains without a clear timeline for a return due to a toe sprain. The swingman can be tentatively deemed doubtful for Monday's tilt against Detroit. Ben Sheppard and Jarace Walker should remain viable streaming candidates until the Pacers get healthier.
Nov 8, 2025
Remaining out vs. Denver
Mathurin (toe) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
While there's no concrete timetable for Mathurin's return to game action, head coach Rick Carlisle said Oct. 28 that he can be considered week-to-week. Until the 23-year-old swingman returns, Ben Sheppard and Jarace Walker will likely continue seeing increased minutes.
Nov 4, 2025
Another absence coming
Mathurin (toe) won't play Wednesday against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said on Oct. 28 that Mathurin was week-to-week, and there's been very little information since. Mathurin is likely doubtful at best for Nov. 8 against the Nuggets.
Oct 28, 2025
Considered week-to-week
Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said Mathurin (toe) is considered week-to-week, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
The bad news continues to pile up for Indiana. In addition to Mathurin being out, Obi Toppin (hamstring) is expected to miss at least a month. With Mathurin nursing a right hamstring issue, the Pacers could really rely on Ben Sheppard and Aaron Nesmith in the short term. RayJ Dennis is also coming off the best game of his career and is worth monitoring in deeper formats.
Oct 26, 2025
Ruled out Sunday
Mathurin (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Timberwolves, Jeremiah Johnson of FanDuel Sports Network Indiana reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin won't play in the second half of Indiana's back-to-back set after suffering a right great toe sprain during Saturday's loss in Memphis. Andrew Nembhard (shoulder), T.J. McConnell (hamstring), Johnny Furphy (foot) and Taelon Peter (groin) are all sidelined, not to mention Tyrese Haliubrton (Achilles) is out for the entire campaign. The Pacers' depth will be test early on this season, with RayJ Dennis, Ben Sheppard, Obi Toppin and Jarace Walker ready to step up.
Oct 25, 2025
Won't return Saturday
Mathurin won't return to Saturday's game against the Grizzlies due to right foot soreness, Scott Agness of FieldhouseFiles.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin exited to the locker room in the third quarter and was ruled out shortly thereafter. He'll finish with 26 points (8-12 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 8-9 FT), four assists and three rebounds in 28 minutes. With the 23-year-old sidelined, RayJ Dennis and Jarace Walker are candidates for a bump in minutes the rest of the way. Mathurin's status will be worth monitoring ahead of Sunday's game against Minnesota.
Oct 23, 2025
Drops 36 points in double-OT loss
Mathurin registered 36 points (9-19 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 15-17 FT), 11 rebounds and one assist in 45 minutes during Thursday's 141-135 double-overtime loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin and Pascal Siakam kept the Pacers afloat in the second half and into overtime after Andrew Nembhard exited with a shoulder injury. Mathurin found success by driving to the hoop, resulting in 17 attempts from the charity stripe. His club was ultimately unable to finish the job following Mathurin's departure, as he fouled out of the game with four minutes remaining in the second overtime period. Regardless, this was a promising first game of the 2025-26 season for the Arizona product, who averaged 16.1 points in 72 regular-season appearances a season ago.
Oct 13, 2025
Explodes for 31 points in loss
Mathurin amassed 31 points (11-12 FG, 4-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal across 23 minutes in Monday's 124-108 preseason loss to the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin torched the nets and posted a game-high 31 points, 27 of which came in the first half. The 23-year-old swingman also led all players in three-pointers made. The Arizona product is expected to operate as one of the club's top offensive options with Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles) sidelined for the entire season. Mathurin started 49 of his 72 regular-season appearances in 2024-25, during which he averaged 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds in 29.8 minutes per contest.
Oct 11, 2025
Solid output Saturday
Mathurin had 16 points (4-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-9 FT), six rebounds and an assist across 16 minutes in Saturday's 116-101 preseason win over the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin played the second-fewest minutes among starters for Indiana in this game, and the coaching staff doesn't have to see what the forward brings to the table. Mathurin is expected to open the 2025-26 season as the starting shooting guard and should see a lot of usage as one of the team's primary offensive weapons.
Jun 23, 2025
Plays well in Game 7 defeat
Mathurin amassed 24 points (6-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 10-10 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists and two steals across 33 minutes during Sunday's 103-91 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin's production was all over the place in the postseason, though he certainly had his moments. With Tyrese Haliburton sidelined by an Achilles tear, the Pacers may bank on Mathurin taking a leap in 2025-26 with so much usage up for grabs. During the 2024-25 regular season, Mathurin appeared in 72 games and produced 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.4 three-pointers on 45.8 percent shooting from the field.
Apr 13, 2025
Out for regular-season finale
Mathurin won't play in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Cavaliers due to left calf injury management.
ANALYSIS
With the Pacers locked into the No. 4 seed, Mathurin, Pascal Siakam (elbow) and Tyrese Haliburton will all take a seat for the regular-season finale. They should all be back in action for Indiana's first-round matchup against the Bucks.
Apr 11, 2025
Getting starting nod
Mathurin is in the starting lineup for Friday's game versus the Magic, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will enter the starting lineup Friday due to all five of Indiana's typical starters being ruled out. Mathurin has averaged 17.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 27.0 minutes across his previous 10 starting appearances.
Apr 11, 2025
Scores 13 points off bench
Mathurin provided 13 points (6-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one steal over 24 minutes during Thursday's 114-112 victory over Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin didn't have his best shooting performance from three-point range, but he still posted a decent line as Indiana secured a two-point win over a rotated Cavaliers team. The Pacers will rest most of their starters in the second leg of a back-to-back set Friday against the Magic, so Mathurin should have a sizable uptick in his usage rate in that contest. He'll probably operate as one of the Pacers' go-to offensive options.
Apr 4, 2025
Lives at free-throw line in return
Mathurin (calf) recorded 20 points (4-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 12-16 FT), three rebounds, two assists and two steals across 23 minutes Friday in the Pacers' 140-112 win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Back in action after missing the previous three games due to left calf injury management, Mathurin paced the Pacers bench in scoring thanks largely to his knack for drawing contact. The 16 free-throw tries were a season-high total for Mathurin, who is converting at an 83.4 percent clip on 4.5 attempts per game on the season.
Apr 4, 2025
Good to go Friday
Mathurin (calf) is available for Friday's game against the Jazz, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will return from a three-game absence Friday due to a left calf injury. Over his last five appearances (one start), the 22-year-old swingman has averaged 17.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals across 28.0 minutes per contest. Additionally, Mathurin has scored at least 20 points in four of his last seven outings.
Apr 3, 2025
Questionable vs. Utah
Mathurin (calf) has been listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin missed the last three games for the Pacers due to left calf soreness but has a chance to play against Utah on Friday. The 22-year-old forward is averaging 16.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game, shooting a career-high 46.6 percent from the field.
Apr 2, 2025
Ruled out vs. Charlotte
Mathurin (calf) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Hornets, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will miss a third straight game for the Pacers on Wednesday due to a left calf issue. Indiana will likely turn to Ben Sheppard against Charlotte, with Mathurin still on the mend.
Apr 1, 2025
Iffy for Wednesday
Mathurin (calf) has been listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin is in danger of missing a third straight game for the Pacers due to soreness in his left calf. Ben Sheppard may see more time on the floor Wednesday against Charlotte.
Mar 30, 2025
Not playing Monday
Mathurin (calf) has been ruled out for Monday's game against Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Monday will be the second straight game Mathurin will miss due to left calf soreness, and his next opportunity to take to the court will be Wednesday against Charlotte. Ben Sheppard should see a boost in playing time off the bench with Mathurin sidelined.
Mar 28, 2025
Listed out for Saturday
Mathurin is out for Saturday's game against Thunder due to left calf soreness.
ANALYSIS
It's a new injury for Mathurin, who sees his next chance to return come Monday against the Kings. Aaron Nesmith and Andrew Nembhard should both see an uptick in playing time from the starting lineup in Mathurin's absence, with Ben Sheppard potentially seeing a boost in minutes as well.
Mar 27, 2025
Drops team-high 23 in loss
Mathurin accumulated 23 points (7-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT), five rebounds and two assists across 30 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 120-119 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
He led the Pacers in scoring on the night as seven different Indiana players scored in double digits. Mathurin has topped 20 points in four of the last six games (three starts), averaging 20.0 points, 6.8 boards, 1.7 assists, 1.3 threes and 1.0 steals over that stretch.
Mar 24, 2025
Cleared to play Monday
Head coach Rick Carlisle said that Mathurin (ankle) will play in Monday's game against Minnesota, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will shake off a questionable tag Monday due to a sprained left ankle. The 22-year-old swingman has scored 20-plus in three of the club's last four outings (three starts), during which he has averaged 21.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 49.1 percent from the field across 33.3 minutes per game.
Mar 23, 2025
Questionable for Monday
Mathurin is questionable for Monday's game against the Timberwolves due to a left ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has been playing well of late, logging four straight double-digit scoring outings, but he now finds himself on the injury report with a left ankle injury. If Mathurin is unable to go, most of his usage will likely be absorbed by the starting five, while Jarace Walker could see a slight uptick in minutes off the bench.
Mar 22, 2025
Shifts to bench Saturday
Mathurin closed with 13 points (5-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 27 minutes during Saturday's 108-103 victory over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin moved back to the bench following the return of Tyrese Haliburton from a three-game absence as a result of a back injury. As expected, Mathurin's playing time took a hit, as did his production. He has scored at least 20 points in three straight games, serving as a primary scoring option in Haliburton's absence. It's been another inconsistent season for Mathurin, currently averaging 16.2 points and 1.5 three-pointers in 30.3 minutes per game.
Mar 22, 2025
Bench role against Brooklyn
Mathurin will come off the bench during Saturday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will be in the second unit Saturday due to Tyrese Haliburton (back) returning to the lineup for Indiana. In 15 games in a reserve role, the 22-year-old forward averages 15.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game, shooting 49 percent from the floor and 40.7 percent from beyond the arc.
Mar 20, 2025
Dominates in double-double outing
Mathurin finished with 28 points (10-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), 16 rebounds, three assists and two steals over 39 minutes in Thursday's 105-99 overtime win over Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin had to once again step up in the Indiana starting lineup with the absence of Tyrese Haliburton (back), putting on a show with one of his best performances of the season. Mathurin led all Pacers in Thursday's contest in scoring and rebounds, setting a new season high in assists while posting his sixth outing with 28 or more points. Mathurin has now scored north of 20 points in three straight outings.
Mar 19, 2025
Strong from line in winning effort
Mathurin racked up 23 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 10-12 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one steal in 32 minutes during Wednesday's 135-131 victory over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin got to the free-throw line early and often in Wednesday's contest, leading all players in free throws made to go along with a team-high rebound total in a balanced effort. Mathurin, who was one of three Indiana players to cross the 20-point mark Wednesday, has recorded at least 20 points in two straight contests.
Mar 18, 2025
Scores 22 in starting role
Mathurin chipped in 22 points (6-17 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 7-8 FT), three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 35 minutes before fouling out of Monday's 132-130 overtime win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin returned to the starting lineup for the first time since March 10, and only the second time since the All-Star break, due to the absence of Tyrese Haliburton (back), and there's no question he made the most of his opportunity. Mathurin is one of the most capable second-unit scorers in the league, but his numbers have been trending in the wrong direction of late. He's averaging a mere 12.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game since the break. For the sake of comparison, he's averaging 16.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest when deployed in a starting role.
Mar 17, 2025
Starting Monday vs. Minnesota
Mathurin is in the Pacers' starting lineup against the Timberwolves on Monday, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will make his second start since the All-Star break due to the absence of Tyrese Haliburton (back). Over that span, Mathurin has averaged 11.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists over 22.2 minutes per game.
Mar 11, 2025
Won't start Tuesday
Mathurin will come off the bench during Tuesday's game against the Bucks, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
The 22-year-old swingman will come off the bench due to Tyrese Haliburton (hip) returning to game action. Mathurin has appeared in two consecutive contests (one start) following a four-game absence due to a left wrist sprain, accumulating 35 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and two steals across 63 total minutes.
Mar 11, 2025
Rough shooting performance
Mathurin contributed five points (2-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds and three assists across 23 minutes during Monday's 121-103 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin struggled from the field Monday after erupting for 30 points Saturday against the Hawks. The 22-year-old forward connected on only two of his nine field-goal attempts against Chicago, finishing with five points, far lower than his 16.2 points per game average.
Mar 10, 2025
Starting Monday vs. Chicago
Mathurin is in the Pacers' starting lineup against the Bulls on Monday, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will make his first start since Feb. 8 due to the absence of Tyrese Haliburton (hip). Mathurin returned Saturday from a four-game absence due to a left wrist sprain and finished with 30 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals over 40 minutes.
Mar 9, 2025
Pours in 30 in return
Mathurin recorded 30 points (9-20 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 8-10 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and two steals in 40 minutes off the bench during Saturday's 120-118 loss to Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
The third-year wing led the Pacers in scoring on the night and nearly dragged them to a comeback win after they found themselves staring at a 20-point deficit heading into the second quarter. Mathurin has missed the previous four games due to a wrist issue, but he looked 100 percent healthy upon his return. The 30 points represented his best scoring effort since he erupted for 38 against the Knicks on Nov. 10.
Mar 7, 2025
Questionable to play Saturday
Mathurin (wrist) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin is in jeopardy of missing his fourth consecutive contest Saturday due to a left wrist sprain. With Tyrese Haliburton (hip) also having been deemed questionable, Aaron Nesmith (hip), Ben Sheppard and T.J. McConnell are all candidates for an uptick in playing time.
Mar 6, 2025
Out vs. Atlanta
Mathurin (wrist) is out for Thursday's game against the Hawks, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
ANALYSIS
The Pacers will be shorthanded in terms of scoring weapons Thursday since they'll be missing both Mathurin and Tyrese Haliburton (hip). This will be Mathurin's fourth straight absence due to a left wrist sprain, and it's unclear if he'll be ready to return for a rematch against the Hawks on Saturday.
Mar 5, 2025
Questionable for Thursday
Mathurin (wrist) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Hawks, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin is dealing with a left wrist sprain that has sidelined him for the last three games. A decision on his status will probably be made closer to Thursday's 7:30 p.m. ET tipoff. If he can't go, expect Aaron Nesmith, Andrew Nembhard and Ben Sheppard to see more minutes to compensate for the loss of Mathurin, particularly on the offensive end of the court.
Mar 4, 2025
Ruled out against Houston
Mathurin (wrist) won't play in Monday's game versus the Heat, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will miss his third straight contest Tuesday after being downgraded from doubtful to out due to a sprained left wrist. Mathurin's next chance to suit up is Thursday's matchup with Atlanta.
Mar 3, 2025
Doubtful for Tuesday
Mathurin is doubtful for Tuesday's game against Houston due to a sprained left wrist.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Rick Carlisle said before Sunday's win over Chicago that Mathurin is day-to-day with the injury, but the third-year swingman is unlikely to conclude a two-game absence against the Rockets. Mathurin's eventual return would likely translate to fewer minutes for Aaron Nesmith, Andrew Nembhard and Ben Sheppard, but they should each hang onto larger roles for at least one more outing.
Mar 2, 2025
Considered day-to-day
Head coach Rick Carlisle said Sunday that Mathurin (wrist) can be considered day-to-day moving forward, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has already been ruled out for Sunday's game against Chicago while he deals with a sprained left wrist and various other ailments. However, Carlisle wouldn't rule out a potential return in Tuesday's game against the Rockets. The third-year pro has come off the bench in each of his last six appearances, during which he has averaged 14.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists across 25.3 minutes per contest. With Mathurin on the shelf, Aaron Nesmith and Ben Sheppard could see a bump in minutes.
Feb 28, 2025
Set for spell on sidelines
Mathurin (wrist) will miss "a couple of games at least," head coach Rick Carlisle told Jeremiah Johnson of FanDuel Sports Network Indiana.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin is dealing with a wrist injury but is also banged up with multiple ailments, so the Pacers will give him enough time to recover from all the issues he's dealing with. It's uncertain when he'll return to the court, though, based on Carlisle's words. he should be out for at least the Pacers' next two or three games.
Feb 28, 2025
Won't play Friday
Mathurin has been ruled out for Friday's game against Miami due to a left wrist sprain, Jeremiah Johnson of FanDuel Sports Network Indiana reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin was a late addition to the injury report due to the wrist injury, and his next chance to play will come Sunday against Chicago. Aaron Nesmith and Ben Sheppard are candidates for an uptick in playing time with Mathurin sidelined.
Feb 20, 2025
Shines off bench in victory
Mathurin logged 16 points (6-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 24 minutes during Thursday's 127-113 victory over the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin once again provided a lift for Indiana off the bench Thursday, leading all second unit players in scoring to go along with a team-high-tying steals mark over a bench-leading minute total. Mathurin has recorded a pair of steals in 10 contests this year while tallying 15 or more points in five straight outings.
Feb 12, 2025
Nears 30 points off bench in OT win
Mathurin notched 28 points (11-19 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds and four assists over 33 minutes in Wednesday's 134-130 overtime win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin shined off the Pacers bench in Wednesday's high-scoring overtime battle, finding success offensively while finishing second on the team in scoring and two points short of the 30-point mark. Mathurin has been a key offensive contribute for Indiana as of late, posting his sixth outing of the season with 25 or more points and his second such performance coming off the bench.
Feb 11, 2025
Slides to bench Tuesday
Mathurin will come off the bench in Tuesday's game against the Knicks, Alex Golden of the 'Setting the Pace' podcast reports.
ANALYSIS
Aaron Nesmith will supplant Mathurin in the starting five on Tuesday. The 22-year-old hasn't joined the second unit since Oct. 30, and over his last 10 outings, he has averaged 15.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.4 three-pointers across 26.4 minutes per game. Mathurin has shot 51.8 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from three-point range in that 10-game span.

Makes up for early accident
Mathurin racked up 25 points (8-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 8-12 FT), six rebounds and four assists in 28 minutes during Thursday's 119-112 win over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Early on, it looked like Mathurin might end up being the goat in an Indiana loss -- he accidentally hit Myles Turner (concussion) in the face while going for a rebound just six minutes into the game, and the center never returned to the court. In part because of that turmoil, the Pacers found themselves staring at a 42-22 deficit after the first frame, but Mathurin stepped up in a big way and helped fuel a big comeback. It was the third-year guard's best scoring effort since he hung 25 on the Bucks on New Year's Eve, and just the second time he's produced 20 or more points in his last seven appearances, a stretch in which he's failed to play 30 minutes in any contest. The slight workload decline has led to Mathurin averaging 15.4 points, 4.1 boards, 1.1 assists and 1.1 threes in 25.0 minutes despite shooting 54.8 percent from the floor.
Feb 2, 2025
Scores 17 points in return
Mathurin amassed 17 points (6-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds and one block over 25 minutes during Saturday's 132-127 win over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin returned to the lineup after missing the previous game due to an illness, helping the Pacers to a hard-fought victory over the struggling Hawks. Although it's been an improved season for Mathurin, he continues to offer very little to the team outside of points. Through 45 games, he is averaging 16.4 points and 5.8 rebounds in 32.0 minutes per contest.
Feb 1, 2025
Good to go Saturday
Mathurin (illness) is available for Saturday's game versus the Hawks, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has been upgraded from questionable to available Saturday after missing Indiana's previous contest with an illness. Mathurin should reclaim his starting spot from Aaron Nesmith against Atlanta.
Jan 31, 2025
Questionable with illness
Mathurin (illness) has been listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
After missing Wednesday's loss to the Pistons due to an illness, Marthurin might be able to make his return Saturday to face Atlanta. The 22-year-old is averaging 16.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while shooting a career-high 47.1 percent from the field this season for the Pacers.
Jan 31, 2025
Full-go in practice
Mathurin (illness) was a full participant in Friday's practice, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin was a late scratch Wednesday due to a stomach ailment but is reportedly feeling much better. However, fantasy managers should still look out for an official injury report to clarify Mathurin's status ahead of Saturday's matchup with Atlanta.
Jan 29, 2025
Ruled out Wednesday
Mathurin (illness) is out for Wednesday's game against the Pistons, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin was a late addition to Indiana's injury report with an illness, and he'll join Andrew Nembhard (back) on the sidelines Wednesday. With a vacated spot in the Pacers' starting lineup, Aaron Nesmith stands out as the most likely candidate to replace Mathurin in the first unit while Ben Sheppard likely handles a more prominent role from the bench against Detroit.
Jan 29, 2025
Questionable Wednesday
Mathurin (illness) has been listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
After a 13-point performance in Saturday's blowout win against the Spurs, Mathurin might not be able to get on the floor Wednesday against Detroit because of an illness. The 22-year-old is having another solid season with the Pacers, averaging 16.4 points and a career-high 5.9 rebounds per game for Indiana.
Jan 23, 2025
Leading scorer in blowout loss
Mathurin recorded 24 points (11-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt), three rebounds, one block and two steals across 25 minutes during Thursday's 140-110 loss to the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin did all he could to help Indiana offensively in Thursday's blowout contest, leading all Pacers in scoring and shots made while adding a pair of steals defensively in a two-way performance. Mathurin has posted at least 25 points in five outings this season, his first such performance since he last did so New Year's Eve against Milwaukee. Mathurin has shot well from deep as of late, connecting on at least two threes in four of his last five contests.
Jan 18, 2025
Back after one-game suspension
Mathurin is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the 76ers, Sam DiGiovanni of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin missed the Pacers' 111-100 win over the Pistons on Thursday after receiving a one-game suspension, but he'll recover his starting role in this matchup, sending Aaron Nesmith to the second unit. Mathurin is averaging 16.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game when deployed as a starter this season.
Jan 15, 2025
Issued one-game suspension
Mathurin has been suspended for one game for making contact with and verbally abusing an official, the NBA announced Wednesday. He'll serve his suspension Thursday against Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin was ejected from Tuesday's game after receiving a pair of technical fouls, one for hanging on the rim and a second for arguing and making contact with an official. Mathurin will serve the suspension Thursday, but he's expected to be back in action for Saturday's matchup with the 76ers. While he's suspended, Jarace Walker and Johnny Furphy should see more minutes.
Jan 14, 2025
Ejected Tuesday
Mathurin was ejected from Tuesday's game against the Cavaliers after being assessed his second technical foul, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
ANALYSIS
After getting a technical foul for hanging on the rim earlier in the contest, Mathurin was tossed from the game for arguing a foul call during the fourth quarter. His night ends with 19 points (8-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 31 minutes. Jarace Walker is filling in for Mathurin in the fourth period.
Jan 11, 2025
Double-double in Friday's win
Mathurin finished with 21 points (9-18 FG, 3-8 3Pt), 10 rebounds and two assists across 34 minutes during Friday's 108-96 victory over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
The double-double was Mathurin's seventh of the season and second in the last four games, while the 25 points represented his highest total since he dropped 28 on the Raptors on Nov. 18. The third-year wing is still prone to quiet nights -- he scored just eight points Wednesday against the Bulls -- but he's scored in double digits in nine of the last 10 contests, averaging 16.1 points, 5.9 boards, 2.3 assists and 1.6 threes over that stretch.
Jan 7, 2025
Efficient shooting performance
Mathurin posted 20 points (8-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and two assists across 31 minutes during Monday's 113-99 win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has reached the 20-point mark for the second time across his last four games, and he seems to be trending in the right direction after posting subpar numbers throughout December. He's averaging 16.5 points per game while shooting 49 percent from the floor over his last eight games, and the third-year forward should remain a reliable offensive weapon as long as he remains in a starting role.
Jan 5, 2025
Logs double-double in win
Mathurin scored 13 points (5-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), grabbed 10 boards and dished four assists in 34 minutes of play during the 126-108 win over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
The well-rounded display marked Mathurin's seventh double-double of the season, and first since the end of November. Although he didn't score in bunches as he's always a threat to do, it was encouraging to see him dish the rock a bit more, tying his season-high assists mark. His next outing comes Monday against the Nets.
Jan 1, 2025
Finally heats up
Mathurin logged 25 points (10-18 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-5 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 37 minutes during Tuesday's 120-112 loss to Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
For the first time since Nov. 27, Mathurin eclipsed 20 points. He had a difficult month overall with 14.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 three-pointers on 42.0 percent from the field and 28.8 percent from beyond the arc across 14 December outings, but Tuesday's performance could be an indication that he's ready to put his slump behind him.
Dec 30, 2024
Solid performance against Boston
Mathurin made the best of his 29 minutes on the floor against the defending champions. The 22-year-old only missed two of the shots he attempted in Boston. He finished with 14 points and five rebounds, helping the Pacers come out on top against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
After a rough shooting night in the win over the Warriors, Mathurin bounced back with a vengeance against one of the best teams in the league. The young guard continues to prove he deserves to be a starter while putting up career numbers in points (16.6) and rebounds (6.2).
Dec 24, 2024
Struggles with shot
Mathurin registered 12 points (5-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds and two assists over 36 minutes during Monday's 111-105 victory over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Despite reaching double figures, Mathurin's overall stat line was lacking. He's struggled to produce peripheral stats this season, posting averages of 12.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.8 three-pointers in 33.9 minutes across 10 December contests. He also shot just 37.9 percent from the field and 20.5 percent from beyond the arc in that span.
Dec 8, 2024
Scores in double figures
Mathurin provided 11 points (4-11 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and one steal over 34 minutes during Sunday's 113-109 loss to the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin suffered through a tough shooting night on the offensive end, but he's now scored in double digits in nine of his previous 10 appearances. The 22-year-old continues to show improvement this season, averaging a career-high 17.8 points on 47.1 shooting from the field through his first 25 games of the 2024-25 campaign.
Dec 1, 2024
Leads way in near double-double
Mathurin closed with 19 points (5-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 7-8 FT), nine rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes during Sunday's 136-121 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin did all he could to help Indiana come out on top Sunday, leading all Pacers in scoring and rebounds while concluding one board shy of a double-double in a losing effort. Mathurin has recorded at least 10 points and nine rebounds in four of his last six outings, hauling in at least nine boards on eight occasions this season.
Nov 28, 2024
Strong season continues
Mathurin had 24 points (8-16 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and one block across 40 minutes during Wednesday's 121-114 victory over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin recorded his fifth double-double of the season, scoring at least 20 points for the 10th time. Much to the relief of Pacers fans, Mathurin has been able to deliver on some of his potential, currently averaging 18.6 points per game, adding 7.0 rebounds and 1.7 three-pointers. It appears he has entrenched himself as a member of the starting lineup, something that can only be a good thing when it comes to his long-term value.
Nov 23, 2024
Goes for 20 points Friday
Mathurin registered 20 points (6-18 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-7 FT), nine rebounds, one assist, one block and three steals over 33 minutes during Friday's 129-117 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin didn't have his best shooting performance Friday, but he still found a way to record 20 points for the seventh time in his last nine starts. Injuries promoted Mathurin to a starting role on Nov. 1, but the forward has made the most of the opportunity and is averaging a robust 20.3 points per game this month. He's a must-start player across all formats at this point due to the role he's managed to carve in the Pacers' offensive scheme.
Nov 19, 2024
Extends impressive streak
Mathurin finished Monday's 130-119 loss to Toronto with 28 points (10-16 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 4-6 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
A strong argument could be made to say Mathurin has been the Pacers' best offensive player since the beginning of November. The third-year guard has scored in double digits in all but one of his nine November outings and has reached the 20-point mark six times in his last seven in that span. As a result, Mathurin is averaging a strong 21.7 points per game since the beginning of the month.
Nov 17, 2024
Another 20-10 double-double in win
Mathurin posted 21 points (6-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 8-8 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and two steals across 37 minutes during Sunday's 119-110 victory over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin did well on both ends of the court in Sunday's contest, leading Indiana in rebounds and steals while shooting a perfect mark from the free-throw line. Mathurin concluded as one of four Pacers with 20 or more points and has now recorded at least 20 points and 10 boards in four outings, including in two of his last three games.
Nov 13, 2024
Posts 20-10 double-double in loss
Mathurin totaled 23 points (7-17 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 8-9 FT), 12 rebounds and one steal in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 94-90 loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin dominated the paint and provided a lift to Indiana offensively in Wednesday's narrow defeat, leading all players in rebounds while concluding second on the team in scoring and as the lone player with a double-double. Mathurin set a new season high in rebounds, now having reached double figures in three outings this year. He has now tallied at least 20 points in four straight contests.
Nov 11, 2024
Posts career-high 38 points
Mathurin ended with 38 points (13-18 FG, 7-9 3Pt, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one block over 41 minutes during Sunday's 132-121 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin produced a career-best mark of 38 points, becoming the youngest Pacer ever to score over 35 points with at least seven three-pointers in a single game. With Aaron Nesmith (ankle) sidelined until at least December, Mathurin could continue to thrive in the starting lineup alongside Tyrese Haliburton with the duo combining to score 73 points in Sunday's win.
Nov 9, 2024
Continues to produce as starter
Mathurin logged 22 points (8-16 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two steals across 36 minutes during Friday's 103-83 loss to the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin got promoted to the starting lineup four games ago following his 30-point performance in the win over the Celtics on Oct. 30, and he's been outstanding while handling more responsibility on offense. Mathurin is averaging 19.3 points per game while shooting 49 percent from the field as a starter, and he's expected to remain in that role until Aaron Nesmith (ankle) is ready to return.
Nov 6, 2024
Shines from line in double-double
Mathurin ended Wednesday's 118-111 win over Orlando with 20 points (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 13-14 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 34 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin led the way for Indiana in a winning effort, leading all players in Wednesday's contest free throws made while pacing the team in points and rebounds in a double-double performance. Mathurin set a season high in free throws, the second time he has surpassed the double-digit mark from the line. Mathurin has recorded a double-double in two outing this year, having notched at least 15 points in four straight contests.
Nov 5, 2024
Starts again Monday
Mathurin dropped 16 points (7-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-3 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and a steal across 32 minutes in Monday's 134-127 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Monday's game also marked Mathurin's second consecutive start, and he will likely remain in the starting lineup until Aaron Nesmith (ankle) returns. In his last three games, Mathurin has averaged 21.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 0.3 steals over 35.7 minutes, so it is possible his offensive production will increase in extended minutes.
Nov 1, 2024
Getting starting nod
Mathurin is in the starting five for Friday's game versus the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will replace Andrew Nembhard (knee) in the starting five Friday. Mathurin is coming off a 30-point performance in which he played 43 minutes in an overtime win over the Celtics.
Oct 30, 2024
Team-high 30 points in OT win
Mathurin tallied 30 points (9-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 10-11 FT), 11 rebounds and four assists over 42 minutes during Wednesday's 135-132 overtime win over Boston.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has logged just five points in each of his last two outings, but he much more impactful during Wednesday's Eastern Conference Finals rematch, finishing the game as the Pacers' leading scorer and with the second-most points for the game behind Jayson Tatum (37). Mathurin also contributed on the glass and managed to register his fourth-career double-double, his first Feb. 25 of the 2023-24 regular season. The 2022 first-round pick has come off the bench during the Pacers' first five games of the regular season, but more outings like Wednesday's could earn him a spot in the starting lineup alongside Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam.
Oct 26, 2024
Scores 20 points off bench
Mathurin finished Friday's 123-98 loss to New York with 20 points (8-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal over 24 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin gave the Pacers a much-needed offensive boost off the bench, leading the team in scoring in a blowout 25-point loss against New York. It's only been two games, but it's clear the shoulder issues that limited Mathurin to just 59 regular-season appearances in 2023-24 are a thing of the past. He's scored 19 points in his first two outings of the new campaign and should continue to play a prominent role offensively despite his bench status, meaning he's also a player worth targeting in most fantasy formats.
Oct 18, 2024
Fourth-year option exercised
The Pacers exercised the fourth-year option in Mathurin's contract Friday, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will now officially be under contract with the Pacers until the end of the 2025-26 campaign. The Arizona product took a step back from his rookie campaign last year, during which he averaged 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists across 26.1 minutes per game in 59 regular-season outings before having his season cut short due to shoulder surgery. Mathurin is expected to play a significant role off the bench in year three, and he will likely back up Aaron Nesmith and compete for minutes with Jarace Walker and Ben Sheppard.
Oct 17, 2024
Moves back to bench role
Mathurin is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason matchup against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin is expected to open the 2024-25 regular season as a bench alternative, and given that the Pacers are using what looks like their most likely starting unit for Opening Day, it makes sense to see him retreat to the bench. Mathurin should see regular minutes in this contest, though.
Oct 14, 2024
Will start Monday
Mathurin will start Monday's preseason game against the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
With Tyrese Haliburton and T.J. McConnell resting, Andrew Nembhard will shift to point guard, while Mathurin enters the starting lineup at shooting guard. Last Thursday, Mathurin exploded for 25 points (8-12 FG) in 19 minutes off the bench during a win over the Cavaliers.
Oct 10, 2024
Explodes for 25 points
Mathurin posted 25 points (8-12 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and an assist across 19 minutes off the bench in Thursday's 129-117 preseason win over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin was one of the standout performers of Thursday's slate across The Association, and it seems the former Arizona forward is approaching the 2024-25 campaign with a chip on his shoulder following the injury woes that limited him to just 59 regular-season appearances in the previous 2023-24 campaign. Mathurin averaged 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 26.1 minutes in those 59 contests, and he could be a solid weapon off the bench for the Pacers, whereas his usage might end up making him a reliable fantasy asset as well.
Sep 30, 2024
Says he's 100 percent
Mathurin (shoulder) said Monday that he will be a full go for training camp this week, Tony East of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin said he's been 100 percent for a month and a half, so he should be able to hit the ground running during the preseason. His sophomore season was abruptly ended due to a torn labrum in his right shoulder that required surgery, but the Pacers will be thrilled to see him ready to roll for the upcoming season. In 59 regular-season contests in 2023-24, Mathurin averaged 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 26.1 minutes.
May 28, 2024
Progressing well after surgery
Mathurin (shoulder) is way ahead of schedule on his post-surgery recovery according to coach Rick Carlisle, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin had a productive year in his sophomore season, which was cut short due to a torn labrum in his right shoulder. The 21-year-old put up 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists across 59 games while averaging 26.1 minutes. This progress bodes well for the Pacers and Mathurin, who is on track to make a full recovery prior to the start of the 2024-25 season.
Mar 9, 2024
Undergoing season-ending surgery
Mathurin is slated to undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
This is a tough blow for both the Pacers and Mathurin, who was originally just looking at a few games on the sideline before this diagnosis. With Indiana trading Buddy Hield prior to the deadline, the second-year sharp shooter was expected to see a bigger role for the remainder of the season. Now, the team will rely on Andrew Nembhard and Aaron Nesmith on the wing, while Doug McDermott (calf), Ben Sheppard and Jarace Walker will be reserve options. Mathurin is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Mar 7, 2024
Out next three games
Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said Thursday that Mathurin (shoulder) will miss the Pacers' next three games, Tony East of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has already been ruled out for Thursday's game versus the Timberwolves due to a right shoulder sprain. The 21-year-old forward is set to be evaluated after Indiana's upcoming road trip, with Wednesday's matchup with Chicago being his first chance to suit up. Ben Sheppard is expected to receive increased playing time in Mathurin's absence.
Mar 6, 2024
Ruled out for Thursday
Mathurin has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Timberwolves due to a right shoulder sprain.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin played through a foot issue Tuesday and posted 19 points (7-16 FG) in 25 minutes during a win over Dallas. However, he's now dealing with a shoulder issue and will miss at least one game. His next chance to suit up will come Sunday in Orlando, while Ben Sheppard is a candidate for an increased bench role versus Minnesota, especially with Doug McDermott (calf) still out.
Mar 5, 2024
Cleared to play
Mathurin (foot) is available for Tuesday's game against the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Aaron Nesmith (quad) and Ben Sheppard (illness) are also available for Indiana. Mathurin has been cold over his last three appearances, hitting 34.3 percent of his shots from the field.
Mar 5, 2024
Added to injury report
Mathurin is questionable for Tuesday's game against Dallas due to left foot soreness.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin joins Aaron Nesmith (quad) and Ben Sheppard (illness) as questionable for Tuesday's game. Nesmith participated in shootaround, but Indiana is nonetheless at risk of being shorthanded on the wings against a formidable offense Tuesday.
Mar 1, 2024
Back to bench
Mathurin will return to a reserve role for Friday's game against the Pelicans,
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will come off the bench in favor of Aaron Nesmith, who is returning from a four-game absence. This move comes after Mathurin's huge performance in Monday's 130-122 loss to Toronto where he tallied 34 points (11-15 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 7-9 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals in 39 minutes. The second-year wing still figures to see a considerable role off the bench.
Feb 26, 2024
Delivers huge performance
Mathurin notched 34 points (11-15 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 7-9 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals in 39 minutes during Monday's 130-122 loss to Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin showcased alluring three-level scoring Monday, matching his season high in scoring en route to his fourth game of the year with 30-plus points. It has been rare for Mathurin to blend a hot shooting night with free-throw drawing prowess, but he remains a gifted athlete with supreme confidence who flashes the ability to do so.
Feb 26, 2024
Stuffs stat sheet in win Sunday
Mathurin recorded 14 points (5-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals across 33 minutes during Sunday's 133-111 victory over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has been arguably more productive off the bench than in a starting role throughout the better part of his first two years in the league, but he's been quite good over his last two starts, putting up solid numbers and filling out the stat sheet admirably. Mathurin should remain in a starting role when the Pacers take on the Raptors on Monday, and his fantasy upside should move in the right direction if he can continue to deliver these performances on both ends of the court going forward.
Feb 23, 2024
Positive contribution in spot start
Mathurin registered 15 points (5-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal over 35 minutes during Thursday's 129-115 victory over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin was inserted into the starting lineup Thursday with Aaron Nesmith sidelined with lower leg injury. Mathurin wasn't efficient with his shot, but was able to contribute in other ways and bounced back nicely from his zero-point performance against the Hornets on Feb. 12. He should reprise his bench role once Nesmith returns to action.
Feb 22, 2024
Starting against Detroit
Mathurin is in the starting lineup to face the Pistons on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has seen most of his minutes off the bench this season, as he's far from productive when playing with the second unit, but he'll get the nod here since Aaron Nesmith (lower leg) is out. Mathurin is averaging 14.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game when deployed in a starting role this season.
Feb 18, 2024
Shines in Rising Stars event
Mathurin (knee/illness) claimed Rising Stars MVP honors Friday after scoring four points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and adding two assists and one steal in 7:20 of court time in Team Jalen's 26-13 win over Team Detlef in the final.
ANALYSIS
Team Jalen relied on a more balanced scoring effort to clinch the win in the finale, but Mathurin did more of the heavy lifting in a 40-35 win over Team Tamika in the semifinal earlier Friday, pouring in 18 points (7-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-5 FT) to go with two rebounds over 13 minutes. Mathurin had missed the Pacers' final game before the All-Star break Wednesday in Toronto due to a bruised right knee and an illness, but his ability to compete in two abbreviated exhibitions Friday as well as the hometown Team Pacers' win Saturday in the skills challenge implies that he'll be good to go when Indiana returns to action Feb. 22 versus the Pistons.
Feb 14, 2024
Out for Wednesday
Mathurin (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game in Toronto, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will miss Indiana's final game heading into the All-Star break, giving him a full week to rest up until the Pacers' next game on February 22. With Mathurin watching from the sidelines Wednesday, perhaps Doug McDermott will be able to get more involved in the rotation.
Feb 13, 2024
Battling bruised knee
Mathurin is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game in Toronto due to a bruised right knee.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin likely suffered the injury at some point in Monday's 111-102 loss to Charlotte, and the bruised knee may explain in part why he was held to 15 minutes; he had played at least 20 minutes in all but one of his previous 17 outings. Though Mathurin looks as though he'll travel with the Pacers to Toronto, a decision on his status for the game may not be made until after the medical team has a chance to assess him during shootaround Wednesday morning.
Feb 13, 2024
Fading significantly
Mathurin finished Monday's 111-102 loss to the Hornets with zero points (0-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist in 15 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin found no rhythm and was scarcely incorporated into the offense Monday. Across three games since the exodus of Buddy Hill to Philadelphia, Mathurin has combined for 15 points on 4-for-21 shooting. Mathurin can boom on any given night, but he gives off energy as the odd-man-out in Indiana.
Feb 8, 2024
Available for Thursday
Mathurin (illness) will be available to play Thursday against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will return from a one-game absence, which will likely result in fewer minutes for Ben Sheppard. Mathurin may have gotten a little boost at the trade deadline with the departure of Buddy Hield, so it'll be interesting to see if he's more aggressive in the second unit moving forward.
Feb 7, 2024
Iffy against Golden State
Mathurin (illness) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game versus the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin is in danger of missing his second straight game Thursday due to a stomach ailment. If Mathurin is ultimately ruled out, Andrew Nembhard, Buddy Hield and Ben Sheppard should continue to receive increased playing time.
Feb 6, 2024
Ruled out Tuesday
Mathurin (illness) will not play Tuesday versus Houston, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will be sidelined due to a stomach ailment. Mathurin has come off the bench for seven of his past eight appearances, but his void will likely be filled by extra usage for Andrew Nembhard, Buddy Hield and Ben Sheppard.
Feb 6, 2024
Battling an illness
Mathurin is questionable for Tuesday's game against Houston due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin's addition to the injury report within three hours of Indiana's 7 p.m. ET game versus the Rockets makes his status extremely murky. He is joined by Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring) and Jalen Smith (back) on the Pacers' injury report.
Feb 4, 2024
Coming off bench
Mathurin isn't starting Sunday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has been cleared to suit up for a second consecutive game Sunday, but he'll retreat to the bench after joining the starting lineup for Friday's loss to Sacramento. Over 33 bench appearances this year, he's averaged 14.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 26.4 minutes per game.
Feb 4, 2024
Cleared for action
Mathurin (toe) will play Sunday versus Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will suit up for a second consecutive game following a two-game absence due to a toe sprain. He logged a full 37-minute workload in Friday's loss to Sacramento, putting him on track for no restrictions Sunday. Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring/back) is a game-time decision, which is a swing factor for the upside of Indiana's offense holistically.
Feb 3, 2024
Questionable against Hornets
Mathurin is questionable to face the Hornets on Sundays with a right toe sprain.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has been battling a toe issue since the end of January, missing two games as a result. However, he was able to play 37 minutes Friday against the Kings and erupted for 31 points (10-14 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 9-10 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Feb 3, 2024
Leads all scorers in loss
Mathurin had 31 points (10-14 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 9-10 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals across 37 minutes during Friday's 133-122 loss to Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin moved back into the starting lineup, leading all scorers with 31 points in 37 minutes. The Pacers made several changes to their opening unit, with Mathurin joined by T.J. McConnell and Isaiah Jackson. It is unclear whether Mathurin will stick as a starter moving forward but given his ability to be a high-volume scorer, he is worth grabbing if he was dropped in your league.
Feb 2, 2024
Cleared to play Friday
Mathurin (toe) is available for Friday's game against Sacramento, Tony East of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will return to action following a two-game absence due to a toe injury. He's come off the bench in his last six appearances, averaging 10.8 points and 4.7 rebounds in 23.5 minutes per game.
Feb 2, 2024
Questionable for Friday
Mathurin (toe) is questionable for Friday's game against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has missed the last two games due to a toe injury, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be available for the second half of a back-to-back set Friday. If he's sidelined, Andrew Nembhard will likely see additional run for Indiana.
Feb 1, 2024
Won't play Thursday
Mathurin (toe) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Knicks, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin continues to deal with a toe injury and will be unavailable for a second consecutive game. Andrew Nembhard will likely see additional run for the Pacers once again.
Jan 31, 2024
Questionable for Thursday
Mathurin (toe) is questionable for Thursday's game in New York.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin sat out Tuesday's game, which resulted in most of his minutes shifting to Andrew Nembard. It'll be more of the same if he's out again Thursday, and managers can expect to get another update following shootaround.
Jan 30, 2024
Unavailable Tuesday
Mathurin (toe) will not play Tuesday versus Boston, Jeremiah Johnson of Bally Sports Indiana reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin's streak of perfect attendance will be snapped at 47 games. His next opportunity to take the court comes Thursday versus the Knicks. Buddy Hield has struggled of late, but he, Andrew Nembhard, Aaron Nesmith and Ben Sheppard will each have an uptick in offensive volume available for the taking.
Jan 29, 2024
Questionable Tuesday
Mathurin (toe) has been downgraded to questionable for Tuesday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin appears to have sustained a toe injury since his 24-point performance against the Grizzlies on Sunday, which led to his recent addition to the injury report. He has yet to miss a game this season, but if he were unable to go, the Pacers would probably look to Andrew Nembhard and Obi Toppin to see extended minutes.
Jan 28, 2024
Top scorer off bench in win
Mathurin provided 24 points (9-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 30 minutes during Sunday's 116-110 win over the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin provided a much-needed spark off the bench, leading all Pacers in scoring while connecting on a team-high-tying trio of three and finishing three boards short of a double-double. Mathurin has scored 24 or more points in six games this season, hauling in seven or more rebounds in four of those outings.
Jan 19, 2024
Good to go
Mathurin (ankle) will play in Friday's game against Portland, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will play through his second straight questionable tag Friday after tweaking his right ankle Monday versus the Jazz. Aaron Nesmith (shins) is returning to action Friday and Pascal Siakam is making his debut, so there will likely be less touches and minutes available for Mathurin.
Jan 19, 2024
Iffy for Friday
Mathurin (ankle) is questionable for Friday's game against Portland.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin tweaked his right ankle against the Jazz on Monday and was considered questionable for Thursday's matchup versus Sacramento. However, he suited up for that contest and played 37 minutes, posting 25 points, four assists, two blocks and a steal during a five-point win. The Pacers may give him the second night of a back-to-back off after a heavy workload, but there was no reported setback, suggesting the ankle issue is minor.
Jan 19, 2024
Nets 25 points despite ankle injury
Mathurin accumulated 25 points (11-21 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal across 37 minutes during Thursday's 126-121 victory over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin tweaked his ankle against Utah on Monday and was initially deemed questionable to suit up Thursday, but he was ultimately able to play. His presence was a big boost for a shorthanded Pacers squad, as Tyrese Haliburton sat out with a hamstring injury while Pascal Siakam isn't yet ready to debut for the club following Wednesday's trade. Mathurin took advantage of those absences in his second straight start, leading Indiana with 25 points and swatting multiple shots for the first time this season. He won't be the team's focal point on offense most games, but the second-year pro has certainly shown the ability to be a major offensive contributor this season, as he's scored 20-plus points on nine occasions and is averaging 14.8 points overall through 41 contests.
Jan 18, 2024
Good to go
Mathurin (ankle) will play in Thursday's game against the Kings, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Starreports.
ANALYSIS
With Mathurin upgraded to available, he keeps his streak alive with zero missed games this campaign. He will have a lot on his plate offensively with Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring), Pascal Siakam (trade pending) and Aaron Nesmith (shins) all sitting this game out.
Jan 17, 2024
Questionable against Sacramento
Mathurin (ankle) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game versus the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin is in danger of missing his first game this season Thursday due to a left ankle sprain. However, Mathurin's participation in practice Wednesday is a good sign of his availability against Sacramento.
Jan 17, 2024
Practices Wednesday
Mathurin (ankle) practiced Wednesday, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
It's good to see Mathurin back on the court after he left Monday's matchup against Utah early due to a sprained left ankle. However, his status for Thursday's game against the Trail Blazers remains to be determined. Mathurin has scored in double figures in 12 straight games, averaging 17.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 26.8 minutes per game during that stretch.
Jan 15, 2024
Tweaks ankle Monday
Mathurin will not return to Monday's game against Utah due to a left ankle sprain Scott Agness of FieldhouseFiles.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin appeared to tweak his ankle by stepping on a teammate's foot while playing defense in the third quarter, and he then came up hobbled while attacking the basket on an ensuing Indiana possession. He remained in the game to take free throws, but promptly headed to the locker room and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest shortly after. Mathurin finishes Monday's abridged night with 11 points, while Jordan Nwora and Ben Sheppard will likely see increased run in his stead.
Jan 15, 2024
Draws spot start
Mathurin is starting Monday night against the Jazz, Scott Agness of FieldhouseFiles.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will enter the starting lineup for Aaron Nesmith, who was ruled out with a leg injury. Mathurin's last start dates back to Nov. 19 against the Magic, when he finished with 14 points, six rebounds, three assists and one steal in 25 minutes.
Jan 13, 2024
Efficient performance Friday
Mathurin finished with 15 points (6-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-5 FT), one rebound and three assists across 27 minutes during Friday's 126-108 win over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin continues to thrive on a bench role and delivered an efficient performance Friday, putting up double digits for the 10th game in a row while also missing just three shots from the field. During that 10-game stretch, Mathurin is averaging 18.1 points per game while shooting 54.5 percent from the field. He doesn't do much outside of scoring, but that's enough to make him relevant in fantasy, especially considering his bench role.
Jan 8, 2024
Leads in scoring off bench in win
Mathurin tallied 26 points (8-15 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 5-7 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals over 29 minutes in Monday's 133-131 win over Boston.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin led all Pacers in scoring and threes made while adding a pair of steals in just 29 minutes off the bench in a winning effort. Mathurin set a season high in threes made while posting his fifth game of the year with at least 25 points. Mathurin has connected on two or more threes in three of his last five games while posting 20 or more points in three of his last five outings.
Jan 7, 2024
Scores 20 points off bench
Mathurin logged 20 points (7-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 6-9 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals across 35 minutes during Saturday's 118-101 loss to Boston.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin was one of Indiana's best offensive players despite coming off the bench, and he made the most of his minutes by putting up his seventh 20-point game of the season. The fact that three of those outings have come over Indiana's last five games suggests Mathurin is perhaps going to his most productive stretch of the campaign, though to be fair, he doesn't add much to the table on a consistent basis outside of his scoring figures.
Jan 3, 2024
Leads bench in scoring in win
Mathurin ended Wednesday's 142-130 win over the Bucks with 16 points (6-9 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound and three assists in 25 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin led all bench players in Wednesday's contest in scoring while connecting on a pair of threes and adding a trio of assists in a winning effort. Mathurin has posted at least 15 points in three straight games and on 14 occasions this year.
Jan 1, 2024
Double-double off bench
Mathurin ended with 25 points (9-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 6-9 FT) and 13 rebounds in 36 minutes during Monday's 122-113 win over the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has now registered double-digit points in back-to-back games. His 36 minutes of playing time Monday was hist most since Dec. 11 against the Pistons as he got more opportunities with Bruce Brown (knee) sidelined for the contest. Mathurin could see more playing time in Wednesday's rematch against the Bucks after Andrew Nembhard left Monday's game due to back soreness.
Dec 29, 2023
Shines off bench in win
Mathurin notched 15 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one block in 26 minutes during Thursday's 120-104 win over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin reached the 15-point mark for the first time since Dec. 18, but his overall numbers have slumped a bit compared to his impressive rookie year. The second-year forward will likely continue as an option off the bench based on his struggles when handed a starting role. Despite the role and limitations of being a second-unit player, Mathurin has relied on his scoring prowess to remain relevant in fantasy. Over his last 10 outings, he's averaged 14.4 points per game while averaging 25.5 minutes per contest.
Dec 27, 2023
Contributes 10 points off bench
Mathurin logged 10 points (3-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and one steal over 24 minutes during Tuesday's 123-117 victory over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin didn't shoot well in the contest, but his performance was nonetheless a step in the right direction after he averaged 4.0 points on 26.7 percent shooting (including an 0-for-6 mark from deep) over his previous two games. It's been an up-and-down season for the second-year pro, especially of late -- he's scored 30-plus points twice in his past nine games but also has three performances of six or fewer points during that span. His inconsistency and minimal peripheral stats make him a shaky target in standard fantasy leagues, and he currently ranks outside the top 200 players in nine-category leagues on the campaign.
Dec 18, 2023
Drops season-high 34 points
Mathurin finished Monday's 151-127 loss to the Clippers with 34 points (12-20 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 7-7 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one steal across 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
On a night with very little to cheer about for Pacers fans, Mathurin stood out with a season-high 34 points. Despite moving to the bench, he has been scoring the ball relatively well of late, tallying double-digits in four of the past five games. He has been inside the top 100 over the past two weeks, averaging 17.7 points per game, adding 4.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 three-pointers. If he was dropped, it might be worthwhile grabbing him if you require a points boost.
Dec 11, 2023
Versatile excellence
Mathurin had 30 points (10-17 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT), seven rebounds, eight assists and two steals across 37 minutes during Monday's 131-123 victory over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin notched the third 30-point game of his career, while his eight assists marked a new personal high. Mathurin's trademark aggressiveness getting downhill was fully on display, but its presence as part of a well-rounded offensive showing is notable. Mathurin has averaged 16.3 points on 50.0 percent shooting in 10 games off the bench this season, and he's an integral factor in Indiana's future regardless of his role.
Dec 10, 2023
Scores 20 points off bench
Mathurin ended Saturday's 123-109 loss to the Lakers with 20 points (5-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 9-9 FT), two rebounds, one block and one steal across 30 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The Pacers struggled to get things going against the Lakers and never really found themselves on the court the way it happened against Boston and Milwaukee, but Mathurin tried to provide a spark off the bench and finished the game as one of the team's top scorers. Mathurin has been far more consistent since returning to a bench role of late, averaging 13.7 points per game and shooting 46.2 percent from the field since being removed from the first unit. He was averaging 13.0 points and shooting 41.9 percent from the field as a starter.
Dec 5, 2023
Another double-digit performance
Mathurin supplied 16 points (5-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes during Monday's 122-112 victory over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin was terrible from inside the arc, connecting on just one of seven attempts, but he was still able to extend his double-digit scoring streak to five games thanks to a quartet of three-pointers. During that stretch, Mathurin has averaged 14.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 25.8 minutes per game. Despite moving to the bench in mid-November, Mathurin is still playing heavy minutes and delivering solid scoring production, but his efforts in the peripheral categories leave fantasy managers in category leagues wanting more.
Nov 28, 2023
Unproductive again Monday
Mathurin notched 11 points (4-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT) and four rebounds over 22 minutes during Monday's 114-110 loss to the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin offered very little again Monday, continuing his poor run of late. Since moving to the bench, it's been a whole lot of nothing for the sophomore. Although he has scored double-digits in four of the past five games, he has shot over 50 percent only once, adding basically nothing in terms of peripheral production. Despite the upside, Mathurin can be dropped in all standard formats.
Nov 21, 2023
Heading to bench
Mathurin isn't in the starting five for Tuesday's game versus the Hawks, Scott Agness of FieldhouseFiles.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will be replaced by Buddy Hield in the starting lineup Tuesday. This is a surprising move, as Mathurin is averaging 15.8 minutes, 6.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 28.2 minutes across his last five appearances. The second-year forward could still receive a similar amount of playing time as normal despite coming off the bench.
Nov 19, 2023
Leads starters despite foul trouble
Mathurin posted 14 points (4-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one steal across 25 minutes before fouling out of Sunday's 128-116 loss to Orlando.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin led all Pacers starters in scoring while hauling in a team-high rebound mark despite playing just 25 minutes while in foul trouble most of the game. Mathurin has tallied at least 10 points and five rebounds on three occasions this season, all of which have occurred over his last five games.
Nov 15, 2023
Limited impact in win
Mathurin racked up eight points (3-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt) in 16 minutes during Tuesday's 132-126 victory over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin was held to a single-digit scoring total for a second consecutive matchup and was unable to generate any production in secondary categories. Although he remained in the starting lineup Tuesday, the 21-year-old was limited to just 16 minutes, his second-lowest total of the season.
Nov 10, 2023
Season-best outing in win
Mathurin racked up 26 points (9-18 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 36 minutes during Thursday's 126-124 victory over Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has his best outing of the season, leading all Pacers in rebounds while finishing with his first double-double of the year. Mathurin set season-high marks in both scoring and rebounds in the win, posting two straight games with at least 20 points and nine rebounds.
Nov 9, 2023
Just misses double-double
Mathurin had 22 points (9-18 FG, 4-7 3Pt), nine rebounds, four assists and two steals over 38 minutes during Wednesday's 134-118 win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
The 22 points and four three-pointers were a season high for Mathurin, while the second-year guard fell one board shy of his first double-double of 2023-24. After a strong rookie campaign, the 21-year-old has had a little trouble getting going to kick off his sophomore season with the Pacers, scoring 10 points or less in four of eight games, but Wednesday's big performance could be a sign he's heating up.
Nov 5, 2023
Failing to impress
Mathurin provided eight points (3-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, five assists and one steal in 24 minutes during Saturday's 125-124 loss to the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin's inefficiency on nights when he fails to earn free throws is a troubling trend. He's shooting just 39.3 percent from the field and 20.0 percent from beyond the arc through Indiana's first six games, but he's drawing shooting fouls on 15.8 percent of his possessions. His foul-drawing frequency ranks fourth among all wings and second among all combo guards in the league this season, making Mathurin a sneaky bounce-back candidate.
Nov 1, 2023
Good to go Wednesday
Mathurin (elbow) will play Wednesday against the Celtics, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin and Tyrese Haliburton (ankle) both suffered injuries during Monday's loss to the Bulls and were initially listed as questionable for Wednesday's game. While Mathurin has been cleared, Haliburton has been ruled out, so the former may see an uptick in usage with Indiana down its No. 1 offensive weapon.
Oct 31, 2023
Listed as questionable
Mathurin (elbow) is questionable for Wednesday's matchup against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin suffered the injury during the first half of Monday's loss to the Bulls, but he finished the contest and scored nine second-half points. If the second-year wing is sidelined, Buddy Hield, Aaron Nesmith and Andrew Nembhard would be candidates for increased playing time.
Oct 31, 2023
Dealing with right elbow injury
Mathurin didn't practice Tuesday due to a right elbow injury, Tony East of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin reportedly suffered the injury during the first half of Monday's loss to the Bulls, but he still scored nine second-half points (2-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT). Given the injury is to his shooting elbow, the Pacers will presumably proceed with caution. Coach Rick Carlisle said Mathurin will, at best, be listed as questionable for Wednesday's matchup in Boston. If Mathurin is sidelined, Buddy Hield, Aaron Nesmith and Andrew Nembhard would be candidates for increased roles.
Oct 26, 2023
Well-rounded stat line in win
Mathurin amassed 18 points (6-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, five assists and two steals in 26 minutes during Wednesday's 143-120 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin started in just 17 of 78 appearances last year, but he unsurprisingly took on a starting role during Wednesday's regular-season opener. He saw plenty of looks from the floor and also had an encouraging assist total after he averaged just 1.5 assists per game last year. The 21-year-old should have an opportunity to take on a fairly prominent role for the Pacers during his second professional season.
Oct 13, 2023
Staying in Indiana
The Pacers exercised the rookie-scale team option for Mathurin on Friday, Tony East of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin is now under contract through 2024-25 and will have another team option for the following season. The second-year forward started in 17 of his 78 appearances last season and is expected to begin the regular season in the starting lineup this year.
Oct 11, 2023
Puts up 14 points Tuesday
Mathurin recorded 14 points (4-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five rebounds and an assist across 18 minutes in Tuesday's 122-103 preseason loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear whether Mathurin will be a starter or a bench option once the regular season rolls around, but it's worth noting he led the team in field goal attempts among starters in this one while logging only 18 minutes. Mathurin had a strong rookie season in 2022-23, and regardless of his role in 2023-24, he should be a fantasy asset in most formats due to his scoring prowess and offensive ability.
Oct 9, 2023
Fills it up
Mathurin delivered 18 points (7-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and two assists across 22 minutes Sunday, as the Pacers fell 127-122 in overtime to Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin's scoring in limited minutes is symbolic of his uber-aggressive offensive mentality. Mathurin averaged 5.8 free-throw attempts per game last season, which is an elite mark for a rookie. After shooting 32.3 percent from deep in 2022-23, Mathurin was solid Sunday. Commanding respect as a floor spacer opens up his downhill attacking, making it a pivotal trend to monitor this season.
Jul 12, 2023
Done in Las Vegas
The Pacers announced Wednesday that Mathurin will sit out the remainder of the Las Vegas Summer League for rest purposes.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin, Andrew Nembhard and Isaiah Jackson will all sit out the Pacers' remaining games in Las Vegas while the Indiana coaching staff aims to open up more minutes for lesser-established players who may be competing for a two-way and/or Exhibit 10 deals. Over his two appearances this summer, Mathurin averaged 22.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 three-pointers in 33.2 minutes.
Apr 9, 2023
Leading scorer in win
Mathurin logged 26 points (6-13 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 12-13 FT), three rebounds, six assists and one block over 37 minutes during Sunday's 141-136 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old wrapped up his first NBA campaign in style, leading the Pacers in scoring in the regular-season finale as he scored at least 15 points in the seventh straight games. While Indiana fell short of the playoffs, the Pacers' young backcourt duo of Tyrese Haliburton and Mathurin could have them back in contention in 2023-24.
Apr 5, 2023
Struggles to knock down shots
Mathurin closed Wednesday's 138-129 loss to the Knicks with 17 points (6-17 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), eight rebounds and four assists over 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has started nine straight games, as the Pacers are resting key players to end the season. The rookie has reached double digits in seven of those nine games, but his efficiency fluctuates. Wednesday was a poor shooting day, as he missed a team-high 11 shots. However, Mathurin posted four assists for the first time in 14 games and grabbed eight rebounds. Mathurin isn't likely to help out in multiple categories, but with the Pacers needing someone to score, he could be in line for big games to close out the season.
Apr 3, 2023
Makes rare blocks contribution
Mathurin finished Sunday's 115-105 loss to the Cavaliers with 19 points (5-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 8-8 FT), nine rebounds and two blocks in 33 minutes.
ANALYSIS
As has often been the case during his rookie season when he's played extended minutes, Mathurin delivered a strong scoring total highlighted by excellent free-throw shooting. His contributions are typically more limited in just about every other area of the box score, but Mathurin delivered more than usual in both the rebounds and blocks categories. The two rejections are particularly noteworthy, as Mathurin had just 10 total blocks in his previous 74 appearances on the season.
Mar 29, 2023
Nears double-double in defeat
Mathurin closed Wednesday's 149-136 loss to the Bucks with 29 points (11-21 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 6-9 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and two steals across 41 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin led the Pacers in scoring, shots made and rebounds while finishing one point short of the 30-point mark and one rebound shy of a double-double performance. Mathurin has scored at least 25 points with five or more rebounds seven times this season.
Mar 27, 2023
Leads offensively as top scorer
Mathurin ended Monday's 127-104 loss to the Mavericks with 26 points (9-19 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 6-7 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin led Indiana in scoring, shots made and minutes played in Monday's loss, finishing as the lone Pacer with 20 or more points in the contest. Mathurin posted his highest scoring mark since finishing with 27 points Jan. 29 against Memphis.

Offers nothing in loss
Mathurin contributed four points (2-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 24 minutes during Saturday's 143-130 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Outside of Chris Duarte, Mathurin was the only other Pacer not to score double-digits Saturday. Despite rolling with the opening unit, Mathurin was barely visible, turning in another underwhelming performance. He continues to play through an ongoing ankle injury, and perhaps sitting out Saturday would have been a better option. He remains a viable asset, even in 12-team formats, although as we saw here when his shot isn't falling, he has very little else to fall back on.
Mar 25, 2023
Good to go Saturday
Mathurin (rest) is cleared to play in Saturday's clash at Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
After a poor two-point outing against the Celtics on Friday, there was a chance the rookie would rest his sore ankle. However, Mathurin will give it a go Saturday in hopes to bounce back.
Mar 25, 2023
Expected to play
Mathurin (rest) is expected to play in Saturday's game against the Hawks, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
There was a chance the rookie would rest his ankle during the second game of the back-to-back set, but he'll likely see the floor. He's coming off a terrible performance in Friday's loss to the Celtics, where he posted just two points, two assists and one rebound in 25 minutes.
Mar 25, 2023
Questionable at Atlanta
Mathurin is questionable for Saturday's tilt against the Hawks due to right ankle sprain injury management.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin struggled during Friday's loss to the Celtics, posting just two points, two assists and one rebound in 25 minutes. He could rest on the second night of the back-to-back along with Tyrese Haliburton (rest), Chris Duarte (ankle) and Myles Turner (back), who are also all questionable.
Mar 21, 2023
Efficient in return
Mathurin amassed 18 points (7-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 30 minutes during Monday's 115-109 loss to the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin (ankle) did not show any rust after missing the last four games. The rookie got his seventh start of the season and was efficient from the floor. Prior to Monday, Mathurin was shooting 43.1 percent when he took at least 10 shots in a game. The Pacers are running low on bodies with Tyrese Halliburton (knee) and Chris Duarte (ankle) missing Monday. Mathurin could be in line for bigger offensive nights for the depleted Indiana roster.
Mar 20, 2023
Will start Monday
Mathurin (ankle) will start Monday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will slide right into the starting lineup during his first appearance following a four-game absence due to an ankle injury. The rookie first-round pick has drawn only six previous starts this season, averaging 14.5 points and 4.2 rebounds in 28.8 minutes during those contests. In a corresponding move, Jordan Nwora will shift to a bench role.
Mar 20, 2023
Cleared for action
Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said Mathurin (ankle) will play Monday against the Hornets, Sam Perley of the Hornets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin participated in the team's morning shootaround and has been cleared to return following a four-game absence due to an ankle injury. It's unclear how many minutes he'll play in his first game since March 9, but his presence will likely mean fewer minutes for Jordan Nwora. Before his injury, Mathurin had scored in double figures in eight of his previous 10 appearances, averaging 15.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals-plus-blocks in 28.3 minutes during that stretch.
Mar 20, 2023
Participates in shootaround
Mathurin (ankle) remains questionable for Monday's game against in Charlotte, but he participated in Indiana's morning shootaround, Jeremiah Johnson of Bally Sports Indiana reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin is certainly trending in the right direction and could return to action following a four-game absence, but his official availability likely won't be known until closer to the 7:00 p.m. ET tipoff. His potential return would likely impact Jordan Nwora's minutes.
Mar 19, 2023
Questionable Monday
Mathurin (ankle) is questionable for Monday's game in Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has missed the past four games, but this is the first time he's been hit with the questionable tag, which suggests he's getting close. If the rookie is able to return, Jordan Nwora's minutes would likely dip.
Mar 17, 2023
Won't play against Philadelphia
Mathurin (ankle) is out for Saturday's game versus the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin's absence streak will extend to four games due to a right ankle sprain. Andrew Nembhard should continue to see extended minutes with him out. Mathurin's next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Charlotte.
Mar 15, 2023
Ruled out Thursday
Mathurin (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Bucks, Tony East of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will miss a third consecutive game and doesn't yet have a clear timetable to return, but coach Rick Carlisle said Thursday that the 20-year-old is doing better and could travel with the Pacers for their road trip next week. Chris Duarte and Andrew Nembhard will likely see increased roles once again Thursday.
Mar 14, 2023
Likely to sit Thursday
Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said Monday that Mathurin (ankle) is "making some real positive strides with his rehab," but the coach declined to offer a timeline for the rookie to rejoin the lineup, Tony East of SI.com reports. "The hope is that he won't be out for long," Carlisle added.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin missed his second straight game in Monday's 117-97 loss to the Pistons while he recovers from the right ankle sprain he sustained in last Thursday's win over Houston. Given that Mathurin didn't make the trip with the Pacers to Detroit on Monday, he appears unlikely to be available for the final game of the road trip Thursday in Milwaukee. However, the Pacers have yet to provide an official update on his status for that contest.
Mar 12, 2023
Out again Monday
Mathurin (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will miss back-to-back games due to a right ankle sprain. It's unclear when he'll be able to suit up again, but his next chance to do so will arrive Thursday in Milwaukee. In his absence, Chris Duarte and Andrew Nembhard are candidates for increased roles.
Mar 10, 2023
Ruled out Saturday
Mathurin (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin suffered a right ankle sprain early in Thursday's game against the Rockets and will officially miss one additional matchup. Coach Rick Carlisle also said Thursday that he doesn't expect Mathurin to play Monday against the Pistons. Chris Duarte and Andrew Nembhard are candidates to see increased run during Saturday's matchup.
Mar 9, 2023
Doubtful for Saturday
Mahurin (ankle) is not expected to play Saturday against the Pistons according to Scott Agness of FieldhouseFiles.com.
ANALYSIS
Coach Rick Carlisle did not provide much clarity on Mathurin's sprained right ankle, but he is expecting him to miss a couple games. If Mathurin does end up missing time, Andrew Nembhard, Chris Duarte and T.J. McConnell will all be candidates to see more run.
Mar 9, 2023
Will not return
Mathurin (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Thursday's game against the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin was carried to the locker room in the first quarter after turning his right ankle on a drive to the basket and was initially ruled questionable to return prior to being ruled out for the contest. He finished without recording any statistics in his three minutes of play. T.J. McConnell and Chris Duarte should see more minutes off the bench for the rest of Thursday's game. Mathurin will have a chance to suit up Saturday in Detroit.
Mar 9, 2023
Questionable to return
Mathurin (right ankle sprain) is questionable to return to Thursday's game against the Rockets, Pat Boylan of Bally Sports Indiana reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin went down hard in the first quarter while driving to the basket and had to be carried off the floor and into the locker room. Although he looked to be in a lot of pain, Mathurin is officially questionable to return to the contest. For as long as he is out, T.J. McConnell and Chris Duarte should see more action off the bench.
Mar 1, 2023
Can't get shots to fall
Mathurin contributed six points (1-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds and one assist across 26 minutes during Tuesday's 124-122 victory over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin started and ended February with rough performances. The rookie averaged just 7.5 points over the first four games of the month, his worst four-game stretch of the season. He followed that up with double-digits in six-straight games. Despite Dallas' defensive struggles Tuesday, Mathurin made just one shot. It was an extremely disappointing night since his point production is the primary value he brings to fantasy.
Feb 25, 2023
Drops 19 points in win
Mathurin totaled 19 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), two rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 29 minutes during Saturday's 121-108 win over Orlando.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin scored double-digits for the sixth straight game, continuing what has been an impressive rookie season. Although his scoring output has been consistent, a lack of supporting stats continues to be an issue when it comes to overall fantasy appeal. Despite scoring upwards of 17 points per game, he sits well outside the top 200 in nine-category formats. He remains a viable 12-team asset but is heavily geared toward managers needing points only.
Feb 11, 2023
Leads Pacers off bench Friday
Mathurin posted 22 points (7-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 7-7 FT), three rebounds and one steal over 33 minutes during Friday's 117-104 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin was the leading scorer for Indiana in this loss, but to be fair, the entire team struggled in an overall subpar performance for Indiana. Mathurin was excellent at the start of the season but has been playing poorly of late, as he has failed to reach double-digit scoring figures in three of his last five contests. He's averaging 10.4 points per game while shooting 40.5 percent from the field in that span.
Jan 29, 2023
Leads offense in near 30-point game
Mathurin registered 27 points (9-20 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and one steal over 31 minutes during Sunday's 112-100 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin was a spark off the bench while leading the team in scoring and rebounds in a near-double-double performance. Mathurin has scored at least 20 points with five or more rebounds in two straight games, having scored 20 or more points in five consecutive outings.
Jan 26, 2023
Game-high 26 points off bench
Mathurin recorded 26 points (7-18 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 10-12 FT), three rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 126-120 loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin had a solid first half with 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field to go along with four assists before going just 3-of-11 over the final two quarters as the Pacers fell to the Magic. The shooting guard also sank 10 of his 12 free-throw attempts to finish with a game-high 26 points, while his four assists were actually the most he's recorded in a contest since Nov. 7. Mathurin has now scored at least 20 points in three straight, shooting 44.2 percent from the field over that stretch.
Jan 24, 2023
Another 20-point outing off bench
Mathurin ended Tuesday's 116-110 win over the Bulls with 26 points (10-17 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT), seven rebounds and two assists over 34 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin led all bench players in scoring while leading the Pacers second unit in rebounds during Tuesday's victory. Mathurin has tallied 20 or more points in two straight games, having done so 18 times this season.
Jan 22, 2023
Scores 23 points off bench
Mathurin racked up 23 points (6-17 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 11-11 FT), five rebounds and one steal in 38 minutes during Saturday's 112-107 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin is one of the best scorers in this season's rookie class and showed it again with another excellent performance, reaching the 20-point threshold for the fourth time this season -- and the 18th time in the current campaign. He has slowed down a bit compared to what he did in the first weeks of the season, but Mathurin remains a reliable fantasy contributor across all formats due to his scoring talent. He's putting up 17.3 points per game on the season.
Jan 20, 2023
Back to bench
Mathurin isn't starting Friday's game against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
The rookie had drawn four straight starts, posing 16.8 points and 5.3 rebounds in 28.3 minutes per game during that stretch. However, he'll shift back to a reserve role Friday, as Oshae Brissett will draw his first start of the season. Across 40 games as a reserve, Mathurin has averaged 17.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 27.9 minutes per game.
Jan 19, 2023
Puts up 13 points Wednesday
Mathurin accumulated 13 points (4-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and five rebounds over 22 minutes during Wednesday's 126-106 loss to Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has failed to reach the 15-point mark in his last two games while shooting a combined 38.9 percent from the field in those outings, but those numbers shouldn't worry fantasy managers. The rookie is averaging 14.5 points per game as a starter and should remain in that role going forward, especially as Tyrese Haliburton (knee) remains sidelined.
Jan 14, 2023
Scores 26 as starter Friday
Mathurin had 26 points (9-18 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 8-11 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal in 39 minutes during Friday's 113-111 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has played off the bench in almost every game this season, but he was forced to jump into a starting role given the absence of key players such as Tyrese Haliburton (knee), Aaron Nesmith (illness) and Myles Turner (back). The rookie delivered and led the Pacers in scoring, but that shouldn't be surprising since he's already racked up 17 games with 20 or more points this season. If Nesmith and Turner can't return to action Saturday against the Grizzlies, then Mathurin could very well remain in the starting lineup while handling a busy workload on offense.
Jan 13, 2023
Inserted as starter Friday
Mathurin will start Friday's game versus the Hawks, Scott Agness of FieldhouseFiles.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin gets the call to join the starting five with Aaron Nesmith (illness), Tyrese Haliburton (knee) and Myles Turner (back) all sidelined Friday. Mathurin didn't post particularly eye-popping numbers in his previous two starts as a rookie, averaging 10.0 points and 2.0 rebounds over 30.0 minutes per game.
Jan 12, 2023
Scores 20 points off bench
Mathurin closed Wednesday's 119-113 loss to the Knicks with 20 points (7-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-9 FT), six rebounds and one assist over 28 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin bounced back from a subpar four-point performance against the Hornets on Sunday, and he's now scored at least 19 points in four of his last five outings. The rookie is a prime candidate to gain a bigger role as long as Tyrese Haliburton (knee) is out, though he's still likely to come off the bench with T.J. McConnell likely stepping into the starting point guard role.
Jan 8, 2023
Cleared for action
Mathurin (shoulder) is available for Sunday's game against the Hornets, Jeremiah Johnson of Bally Sports Indiana reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin was initially questionable due to left shoulder soreness, but the rookie will ultimately be available for Sunday's matchup. The Arizona product has yet to miss a game this season and is averaging 17.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 28.0 minutes across 40 appearances (two starts).
Jan 7, 2023
Questionable Sunday
Mathurin is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Hornets due to left shoulder soreness.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin hasn't missed a game yet in his career and has been on a tear lately, averaging 18.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 25.4 minutes since Christmas. If he sits out, more minutes could be in store for Chris Duarte and Aaron Nesmith.
Jan 6, 2023
Leads team in scoring
Mathurin accumulated 19 points (6-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 7-7 FT), two rebounds and two steals in 21 minutes during Friday's 108-99 victory over Portland.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin's 19 points was a team-high in the win on Friday. The rookie continues to impress with his scoring abilities including getting to the free-throw line. This was his fifth straight contest with at least seven attempts from the charity stripe, and he's averaging a fantastic 82.1 percent on the season.
Jan 5, 2023
Comes off bench for 19 points
Mathurin closed with 19 points (5-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 9-10 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal over 31 minutes during Wednesday's 129-126 overtime loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin recorded just three points over the first three quarters before racking up 12 in the fourth on 4-of-9 shooting from the field, while also knocking down all four of his free-throw attempts. The Pacers guard added another four points in overtime to give him 19 on the night, which was second on the team. Mathurin has scored 15 or more points in six straight contests and has shot 10 free throws in each of his last three.
Jan 3, 2023
Leading scorer off bench
Mathurin posted 21 points (6-9 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 7-10 FT), three rebounds and one steal across 27 minutes off the bench during Monday's 122-114 victory over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
The rookie led the Pacers in scoring on a night when seven different Indiana players scored in double digits. Mathurin's showing from three-point range was especially encouraging, as he's gone seven straight games without sinking multiple threes coming into Monday. Over his last 10 games, the 20-year-old is averaging 16.6 points, 3.4 boards, 1.2 assists and 1.2 threes.
Dec 28, 2022
Cleans up at free-throw line
Mathurin finished with 18 points (6-10 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three assists and two rebounds across 26 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's 129-114 win over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin's woes from downtown continued -- he's now hit just 22.7 percent of his three-point attempts over his past six games -- but he was able to produce his best point total since Dec. 16 due to his flawless shooting from two-point range and the free-throw line. As per usual, Mathurin's contributions in the non-scoring categories remained thin, making the rookie far more valuable in points leagues than he is in eight- or nine-category formats.
Dec 24, 2022
Disappointing showing in start
Mathurin notched six points (2-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and two rebounds across 20 minutes during Friday's 111-108 victory over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin drew just the second start of his career Friday with Aaron Nesmith (ankle) out, but he could not take advantage of the opportunity, finishing with a season-low six points on only six shots over a season-low 20 minutes. Mathurin figures to slot back into a bench role when Nesmith returns and is still worth rostering in some fantasy formats. However, the hope is his recent downward trend can be chalked up to tough matchups with the Celtics and Heat.
Dec 23, 2022
Draws second career start
Mathurin will start Friday's game against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will draw his second NBA start with Aaron Nesmith (ankle) out. In his first career start, the rookie posted 14 points, two rebounds and one assist in 40 minutes during a 112-104 win over the Warriors.
Dec 19, 2022
Scores 15 points off bench
Mathurin closed with 15 points (4-16 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 7-7 FT), six rebounds and one block in 29 minutes during Sunday's 109-106 loss to New York.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin failed to score in the first quarter, but he dropped 10 points on 3-for-9 from the field and 4-for-4 from the charity stripe in the second period. The Arizona product continues to serve as a consistent source of scoring for the Pacers off the bench, posting 16.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists over his last seven appearances.
Dec 15, 2022
Big night off bench Wednesday
Mathurin chipped in 24 points (8-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one steal over 36 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 125-119 win over Golden State.
ANALYSIS
It was the rookie best scoring effort so far in December, and his biggest output since he dropped 30 against the Nuggets on Nov. 9. Mathurin may be starting to feel the grind of his first NBA campaign, however. Through eight games this month, he's shooting just 38.2 percent from the floor and 21.6 percent from beyond the arc, averaging 14.3 points, 4.5 boards, 1.6 assists and 1.0 threes over that stretch.
Dec 7, 2022
Moves to bench
Mathurin isn't in the starting five for Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves, Zach Pearson of Pacers Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will be replaced by Tyrese Haliburton in the starting lineup Wednesday. Mathurin made his first start of the season in Monday's game.
Dec 6, 2022
FInally lands starting role
Mathurin racked up 14 points (4-16 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 6-8 FT), two rebounds and one assist over 40 minutes during Monday's 112-104 victory over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
The rookie has served as an efficient sixth man in Indiana's offense, and he finally got his opportunity to join the starting five amid the Pacers' numerous absences. While this move is probably only temporary, Mathurin still has considerable fantasy value off the bench, averaging 18.3 points and 3.8 rebounds through 24 games.
Dec 5, 2022
Draws first NBA start
Mathurin is starting Monday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin will get a chance with the first unit due to the absence of both Tyrese Haliburton (groin) and T.J. McConnell (illness). Mathurin is averaging 16.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals in his last seven contests off the bench.
Dec 1, 2022
Continues to add scoring punch
Mathurin closed with 22 points (6-17 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 10-11 FT), two rebounds and one steal over 26 minutes during Wednesday's 137-114 loss to the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin tied for the team lead in scoring in the loss, finishing with 20-plus points for fifth time in his past six games. The rookie didn't shoot well from the field, but he knocked down 10 of 11 free-throws after failing to get to the line in each of his previous two contests. Mathurin didn't contribute much in the way of complementary stats Wednesday, though he did extend his streak of games with at least one steal to five.
Nov 29, 2022
Reaches 20 points again
Mathurin ended Monday's 116-115 victory over the Lakers with 23 points (10-22 FG, 3-8 3Pt), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal across 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin finished as the Pacers' second-leading scorer in the contest, one point behind point guard Tyrese Haliburton. It was the fourth time in Mathurin's past five contests that he's posted at least 20 points and the 10th time overall this season that he's reached that mark. His 19.1 points per game on the campaign ranks second among all rookies behind only Paolo Banchero (22.9).
Nov 26, 2022
He's a bucket
Mathurin contributed 20 points (6-15 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 6-9 FT), four rebounds, one block and two steals over 30 minutes during Friday's 128-117 victory over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin is averaging 6.6 free-throw attempts per game -- 12th most in the league among all qualifiers. Even on nights on middling efficiency, Mathurin is finding ways to score. The rookie is averaging 19.4 points per game through 18 contests thus far.
Nov 22, 2022
Leads Pacers in scoring
Mathurin closed with 22 points (6-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 8-10 FT), five rebounds and one assist across 27 minutes during Monday's 123-102 victory over Orlando.
ANALYSIS
The rookie continues to thrive off the bench for the Pacers and remains a reliable scoring threat, putting up at least 15 points in five of his last six appearances and reaching the 20-point mark three times in that span. He's averaging 18.1 points per game across eight November appearances.
Nov 9, 2022
30-point outburst Wednesday
Mathurin tallied 30 points (10-17 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 4-6 FT), two rebounds and a steal in 25 minutes in Wednesday's 122-119 loss to Denver.
ANALYSIS
For the fifth time this season, Mathurin provided more than 20 points off the bench for Indiana. The impressive night brought his scoring average up to 20.4 points per game through his first 11 career games. It was the second time in the last five games that he made six three-pointers and he's now made 43.7 percent of his tries from beyond the arc.
Nov 5, 2022
Sharp shooting night
Mathurin supplied 23 points (5-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 10-12 FT), one rebound, two assists and one block across 37 minutes during Friday's 101-99 win over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin turned in a strong shooting performance and stayed hot from deep, as he's knocked down 12 of his last 25 attempts from beyond the arc over his the last four matchups. The rookie has lived up to the hype early on, scoring in double figures in each of his first nine games, including a 32-point night and now three 20-plus point games.
Nov 1, 2022
Scores 16 points off bench
Mathurin registered 16 points (6-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), two rebounds and one assist across 22 minutes during Monday's 116-109 loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
The rookie continues to thrive as a scoring threat off the bench, and while he has failed to reach the 20-point mark in four of his last five contests, he remains an above-average performer for rookie standards. The former Arizona standout has yet to crack the starting lineup, but he's averaging 20.4 points while shooting 45.6 percent from the field to date.
Oct 30, 2022
Explodes for career-high 32 points
Mathurin posted 32 points (8-16 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 10-10 FT), five rebounds and two assists across 33 minutes during Saturday's 125-116 win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Indiana's 2022 first-round pick made waves in Saturday's win, connecting on six of nine three-point attempts alongside a season-high 32 points. The Arizona product is currently coming off the bench, but if he continues to play like this, a spot in the starting five may need to be created.
Oct 29, 2022
Needs 11 shots to score 11 points
Mathurin had 11 points (4-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes during Friday's 127-117 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin enjoyed a blistering start to the season with five straight contests with at least 15 points, and while that streak ended in this game, his offensive potential can't be overlooked. Even if he's coming off the bench, Mathurin remains a valuable fantasy piece across most formats, and he is showing elite value in dynasty formats if this six-game sample is a sign of things to come in the future.
Oct 22, 2022
Shines off bench Friday
Mathurin ended Friday's 137-134 loss to the Spurs with 26 points (8-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT), five rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin has taken the league by storm in his first two games as a pro, and while some regression is to be expected given how good he's looked early on, the fact that he has scored over 18 points in his first two outings while shooting 50 percent from the field show his offensive game is more than ready for the NBA level. It wouldn't be surprising if Mathurin sees more minutes going forward, but he's already showing value off the bench.
Oct 20, 2022
Scores 19 off bench
Mathurin contributed 19 points (7-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-5 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and two steals across 28 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin recorded 10 of his 19 points in the first quarter, going 3-of-5 from the field, including two threes with less than a minute left in the period off assists from T.J. McConnell. The Pacers guard got a bit sloppy in third quarter, turning the ball over on back-to-back possessions while missing two easy shots in the paint. He also missed all three of his free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter as Washington continued to pull away down the stretch. Still, it was a solid performance for the Pacers' key role player off the bench.
Oct 15, 2022
Launches 18 shots in preseason loss
Mathurin produced 18 points (7-18 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-6 FT), five rebounds and three assists in 27 minutes during Friday's preseason loss to Houston.
ANALYSIS
Mathurin continued to fire away from the floor, reaffirming the confidence the coaching staff have clearly afforded him. Come the regular season, he is likely to take a bit of a step back, once the team is at full strength. With that being said, he is obviously a big part of their long-term future and although he will be coming off the bench, he makes for a viable option toward the back end of standard drafts.

The Pacers guard was quiet after that until the fourth quarter when he added another nine points on 3-of-5 shooting. Excellent two-way performance

ANALYSIS
Mathurin has looked great through three Summer League contests, scoring 20-plus in two of them. His efficiency was excellent Tuesday, and he also managed three steals with zero turnovers. The two-way effort is very encouraging from the No. 6 overall pick in last month's draft.
