The defensive-minded big man posted a season-best mark for points and rebounds here, and while expecting these numbers on a game-to-game basis on a nightly basis might be a stretch, he is certainly enjoying the boost on his upside while taking advantage of the extra minutes he's seeing on the court as the starting center.

Despite having to foot the bill on his massive salary the past two years, Charlotte apparently wasn't deterred from keeping Biyombo on the found on what's presumably a short-term deal that's much more team-friendly. Biyombo should fill a depth role at center in 2020-21 after averaging 7.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 19.4 minutes per game over his 53 appearances last season.

Biyombo logged 34 minutes off the bench in Monday's 143-138 double-overtime loss to the Hawks, finishing with 10 points (4-5 FG, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two blocks.

Coach James Borrego's center rotation has been erratic all season, but he at least laid out his future plans for the position prior to Monday's game. Per Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer, Borrego told the media that he planned to start Cody Zeller for the next 5-to-7 games while deploying Biyombo as the backup, leaving Willy Hernangomez as the third man at the position. Borrego's plan came to pass, as Biyombo re-entered the rotation following a three-game absence, while Hernangomez didn't see the floor. Biyombo also saw 11 more minutes than Zeller, but expect a more even split of the playing time between the two in future contests.

The Hornets will start Cody Zeller at center Thursday against the Nuggets, Jack Duffy of The Painted Lines reports.

Biyombo started three straight games from Feb. 26 to Mar. 1, but he moved to the bench for Tuesday's matchup against the Spurs and was a DNP-CD. It appears the Hornets are employing a rotation at center that leaves one of Biyombo or Zeller out of the rotation each night, as Zeller was previously a DNP-CD in each of Biyombo's three starts. Considering that precedent, there's a good chance Biyombo could fail to see the floor again Thursday.

Biyombo will move to the bench for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.

Biyombo started the previous three games, but the Hornets will now go back to Cody Zeller, who was a DNP-CD in each of those last three contests.

Biyombo will draw a third straight start at center in Sunday's game against the Bucks.

Biyombo seems to have at least temporarily settled in as the Hornets' top center, unseating Cody Zeller for those duties. The 2011 first-round pick has turned in back-to-back quality outings as a starter, averaging 12.5 points, 8.0 boards, 3.0 blocks and 2.5 assists in 29.0 minutes between the two contests while shooting 62.5 percent from the floor. The Hornets have won both of those games, so expect coach James Borrego to stick with Biyombo as their primary option at the position while Charlotte stays reasonably competitive.

Biyombo contributed 12 points (5-6 FG, 2-4 FT), five rebounds, four assists, four blocks and one steal in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 107-101 win over the Knicks.

Biyombo fouled out but produced an impressive and well-rounded stat line, including season highs in dimes and swats. As expected Cody Zeller was listed as active but didn't crack the rotation, with coach James Borrego announcing that would likely be the case earlier in the day. It may have simply been for rest purposes, but those in daily formats may want to keep tabs on Zeller's status before relying on Biyombo for Friday's matchup versus Toronto.

Biyombo will start at center Wednesday against the Knicks, Rod Boone of The Athletic reports.

Cody Zeller will be active but isn't expected to play, pushing Biyombo into the starting five. The 27-year-old is averaging 8.4 points and 7.6 rebounds over 23.2 minutes in 26 starts this season, and he put up 14 points and 10 boards in his last start Feb. 12.

Biyombo posted 14 points (6-8 FG, 2-4 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and one block in 26 minutes during Wednesday's 115-108 win over the Timberwolves.

After establishing himself as a decent option in deeper leagues during December, Biyombo has fallen off to a large extent here in January and likely shouldn't be trusted in daily leagues unless or until he regains a spot in the regular rotation.

Biyombo had started 24 straight contests heading into Monday's matchup, but he's headed for a bench in Portland. Cody Zeller draws the start at center, his first start since Dec. 18.

Barring anything unanticipated, Biyombo should take on his usual starting role in Monday's tilt with the Trail Blazers. He was initially considered questionable after taking an elbow to the nose in Sunday's game against Phoenix.
