Drops 25 in win over Jazz
Holmgren closed with 25 points (12-15 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 0-3 FT), nine rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal in 23 minutes during Sunday's 131-101 win over Utah.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year big keeps coming up just short of his fifth double-double of the season. Holmgren has pulled down either eight or nine rebounds in seven straight games and has recorded at least seven in 10 of the last 11 contests, averaging 18.5 points, 7.9 boards, 1.6 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 threes over the latter stretch while shooting 56.4 percent from the floor.
Dec 6, 2025
Solid in blowout win
Holmgren closed Friday's 132-111 win over the Mavericks with 15 points (6-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one block in 23 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren and teammate Jalen Williams posted nearly identical box scores as each finished with 15 points and eight rebounds against the Mavericks. The former player 23 points and the latter 24. Oklahoma City separated from Dallas in the third quarter which limited his output. It's been a while since Holmgren tallied a double-double. After collecting three in the first four games of the year, the Gonzaga product's lone other double-double was back on November 11th.
Dec 3, 2025
Scoring efficiently
Holmgren posted 21 points (8-12 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and one block across 30 minutes during Tuesday's 124-112 victory over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Tuesday marked Holmgren's third game in a rown scoring 19 or more points on higher than 50-percent shooting. Holmgren sank 8-of-12 shots against the Warriors including two triples en route to 21 on the night. Eight rebounds matched his season average, as Holmgren has failed to notch a double-double in his past 10 outings.
Dec 1, 2025
Comes close to double-double
Holmgren produced 19 points (9-15 FG, 1-4 FT), nine rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one steal over 30 minutes before fouling out of Sunday's 123-115 win over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren finished just one rebound away from recording what would've been his first double-double since Nov. 11, when he had 23 points and 11 boards in a win over the Warriors. The big man should continue playing at center following the return of Jalen Williams and the absence of Isaiah Hartenstein (calf). He's averaging 14.0 points, 7.6 boards, 2.0 assists and 1.6 blocks per game over his last five outings.
Nov 29, 2025
Hits for 23 in win over Phoenix
Holmgren posted 23 points (8-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds and one assist across 32 minutes during Friday's 123-119 victory over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
The third-year big man bounced back from a brief scoring slump that had seen him top out at 12 points over the prior three games. Holmgren has delivered more than 20 points in five of the six games prior to that, however, and through 12 contests in November he's averaging 16.6 points, 7.2 boards, 1.8 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.2 threes while shooting 54.5 percent from the floor in 27.9 minutes.
Nov 27, 2025
Scores 12 points with nine boards
Holmgren closed with 12 points (4-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 113-105 win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
While Holmgren struggled with his shot for most of the game, he came through when it mattered most, as he drilled a clutch triple with under a minute left to put the Thunder up for good. Head coach Mark Daigneault heaped praise on him after the match, calling Holmgren's late three-ball the "shot of the game," according to Nick Gallo of the Thunder's official site. With the win, the Thunder became just the fifth team in NBA history to open the season 18-1.
Nov 24, 2025
Minimal impact vs. Portland
Holmgren finished Sunday's 122-95 victory over the Trail Blazers with five points (2-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, four assists and three blocks over 25 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren had a rough offensive showing, and this five-point output was not only the first time he didn't score in double digits, but it was also his worst scoring output of the campaign. Holmgren did post decent numbers in other categories, such as rebounds, assists and blocks, so there's a chance this was nothing more than an off night for the big man. Holmgren is averaging a solid 16.4 points per game in November even when factoring in this five-point effort Sunday.
Nov 19, 2025
Swats three shots vs. Sacramento
Holmgren logged 21 points (10-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one steal over 31 minutes during the Thunder's 113-99 win over the Kings on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Although Holmgren wasn't efficient from deep, he was effective inside the arc and finished second on the Thunder in scoring behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (33). Wednesday marked the third time this season that Holmgren recorded at least three blocks, and he has scored at least 20 points in five of his last six games. Over that span, he has averaged 21.2 points on 64.6 percent shooting, 7.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 blocks over 28.5 minutes per game.
Nov 17, 2025
Rolls to 26-point night
Holmgren logged 26 points (10-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds and one block in 33 minutes during Monday's 126-109 victory over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren turned in an efficient shooting performance, leading the Thunder in scoring while putting together his best scoring night since Oct. 25 against the Hawks. He was nearly as productive on the boards, falling just one rebound shy of a double-double. Holmgren continues to play at a high level, pouring in 20-plus points in four of his last five matchups.
Nov 16, 2025
Comes close to double-double
Holmgren totaled 25 points (10-20 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one block across 32 minutes during Saturday's 109-96 victory over Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren attempted a season-high 20 shots Saturday, but he was efficient enough to record at least 20 points for the third time in his last four contests. The big man is averaging 16.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game since the beginning of November.
Nov 12, 2025
Perfect from field in win
Holmgren had 23 points (9-9 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists and one block across 25 minutes during Tuesday's 126-102 win over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stole the show with a 28-point, 11-assist performance, but Holmgren was excellent as well after posting a double-double without missing a single shot from the field. This was Holmgren's fourth double-double of the season, and first since Oct. 27, so it's safe to say that the injury issues that plagued him in late October and early November are a thing of the past. Expect Holmgren to continue to operate as the Thunder's second-best offensive weapon behind Gilgeous-Alexander.
Nov 10, 2025
Efficient performance in win
Holmgren racked up 21 points (8-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and one steal in 30 minutes during Sunday's 114-100 victory over the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
The big man continues to work his way back from a lower back injury, and this was his best performance -- from a statistical perspective -- since suffering the injury in late October. Also, this was just the third time Holmgren has scored over 20 points in a game this season. He's averaging 19.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 blocks per game in seven outings in 2025-26, but his numbers should improve even further if he's able to stay healthy and play regularly as he did before sustaining the back problem Oct. 27.
Nov 6, 2025
Off injury report for Friday
Holmgren (lower back) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Friday's game against the Kings, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was held out of the second half of a back-to-back Wednesday as a precaution after he previously returned from to a lower back strain. He'll be ready to roll for Friday's matchup and will aim to continue his strong start to the year, averaging 20.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.6 blocks through five appearances.
Nov 5, 2025
Won't play Wednesday
Holmgren (lower back sprain) will not play Wednesday against Portland.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren returned from a three-game absence during Tuesday's 126-107 victory over the Clippers, finishing with 11 points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one steal over 30 minutes. The Thunder will play it safe on the second leg of this back-to-back set, however. In Holmgren's absence, the Thunder will likely rely on Isaiah Hartenstein and Jaylin Williams.
Nov 5, 2025
Logs 11 points in return
Holmgren racked up 11 points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one steal over 30 minutes during Tuesday's 126-107 victory over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was back in the starting lineup after missing three games with a back injury, but his contribution wasn't very significant. His 11 points marked his lowest scoring total of the season, and it may take another game or two for the third-year pro to get back up to speed. The Thunder have a quick turnaround, so it wouldn't be surprising to see a cap on Holmgren's minutes against Portland.
Nov 3, 2025
Not listed on injury report
Holmgren (back) is not on the injury report ahead of Tuesday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
It looks like Holmgren will be returning from a three-game stint on the sidelines Tuesday night, which should shift Aaron Wiggins back to the second unit and Jaylin Williams' minutes will dip. Tuesday's game will be the first of a back-to-back, so it wouldn't be shocking to see Holmgren return to the sidelines for Wednesday's game in Portland. Still, with four games on the schedule, Holmgren is worth activating in all leagues.
Nov 1, 2025
Out again Sunday
Holmgren (back) will not play Sunday against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren will miss his third game in a row and it's not a great sign that he's being ruled out a day in advance. His next chance to play comes Tuesday against the Clippers which is the front end of a back-to-back set. Jaylin Williams and Isaiah Hartenstein could see a bump in value with this news, as well as Cason Wallace and Aaron Wiggins if the Thunder opt to play a bit smaller.
Oct 29, 2025
Won't play Thursday
Holmgren (back) will not suit up for Thursday's game against the Wizards, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
This will be the second straight game on the sidelines for Holmgren, which will result in more minutes for Cason Wallace and Aaron Wiggins. Holmgren's next chance to play will come Sunday against the Pelicans.
Oct 28, 2025
Won't play vs. Sacramento
Holmgren (back) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
After recording a double-double during Monday's game against the Mavericks, Holmgren will be sidelined for the second game of the back-to-back set with a back issue. The team will likely pivot to Aaron Wiggins to help shoulder the load in the frontcourt.
Oct 27, 2025
Double-doubles in victory
Holmgren contributed 18 points (6-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 11 rebounds, four blocks and two assists across 32 minutes in Monday's 101-94 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren finished as Oklahoma City's second-leading scorer and rebounder, recording his third consecutive double-double. The 7-foot-1 center also racked up a game high in blocks and now has five swats through four regular-season games. Over that span, the 23-year-old has averaged 23.0 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.3 steals across 34.0 minutes per contest. He's also shooting 41.7 percent from three-point range.
Oct 27, 2025
Upgraded to available
Holmgren (back) is available for Monday's game against Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Just like Saturday's game against the Hawks, Holmgren was able to shake off his questionable tag. He looked sharp against the Hawks, finishing with 31 points (8-12 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 9-10 FT), 12 rebounds, three steals, one assist and one block over 27 minutes.
Oct 26, 2025
Questionable for Monday
Holmgren (back) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was also questionable for Saturday's win over the Hawks due to soreness in his lower back, but he suited up and recorded 31 points (8-12 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 9-10 FT), 12 rebounds, three steals, one assist and one block over 27 minutes. If the 23-year-old joins Jalen Williams (wrist), Alex Caruso (concussion), Isaiah Joe (knee) and Kenrich Williams (knee) -- among others -- on the sideline, Aaron Wiggins, Brooks Barnhizer and Jaylin Williams are candidates for increased playing time.
Oct 25, 2025
Double-double vs. Atlanta
Holmgren recorded 31 points (8-12 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 9-10 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist, three steals and one block over 27 minutes during the Thunder's 117-100 win over the Hawks on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren got off to a hot start with 14 points in the first quarter before closing things out with eight more points in the fourth. He led the Thunder in scoring for the first time this season and has logged a double-double and at least two steals in back-to-back games. Holmgren has opened the 2025-26 regular season connecting on 56.1 percent of his field-goal attempts while averaging 24.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.7 steals over 35.0 minutes per game.
Oct 25, 2025
Returns Saturday
Holmgren (hand) started the second half of Saturday's game against the Hawks, per the broadcast.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren exited to the locker room with 10:50 remaining in the second quarter after appearing to hurt his hand on a block attempt. However, he's back on the floor and should be good to go for the remainder of the game.
Oct 25, 2025
Exits to locker room vs. Atlanta
Holmgren exited to the locker room after sustaining an apparent hand injury in the second quarter of Saturday's game against the Hawks, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren attempted to block a dunk but seemingly ended up hurting his hand before exiting to the locker room. If the 23-year-old is unable to return, Aaron Wiggins, Brooks Barnhizer and Jaylin Williams are candidates for a bump in minutes the rest of the way.
Oct 25, 2025
Available vs. Atlanta
Holmgren (back) has been cleared to play in Saturday's game against the Hawks, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren has been dealing with a back issue, but it won't keep him from playing. He's coming off a double-double performance in the win over the Pacers, as he's played well to start the 2025-26 campaign, averaging 21.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
Oct 24, 2025
Iffy for Saturday
Holmgren (back) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren is in jeopardy of missing Saturday's contest due to soreness in his lower back. If the 23-year-old joins Jalen Williams (wrist) on the sideline, Aaron Wiggins, Brooks Barnhizer and Ousmane Dieng are candidates for an uptick in playing time. Over two appearances thus far, Holmgren has averaged 21.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals across 38.5 minutes per contest.
Oct 24, 2025
Double-doubles in win
Holmgren logged 15 points (4-12 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and two steals in 39 minutes during Thursday's 141-135 double-overtime victory over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren didn't have much luck shooting the ball Thursday, but that wasn't the case in the Opening Night thriller against Houston. Through two games, Holmgren has showcased his immense upside with averages of 21.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 three-pointers, though he hasn't recorded a block just yet which is unusual for him.
Oct 22, 2025
Pops for 28 points Tuesday
Holmgren produced 28 points (11-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds and two assists in 38 minutes before fouling out of Tuesday's 125-124 double-overtime win over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren started the game on fire, keeping the Thunder close early. It was one of the best offensive performances of his career, an indication that he is perhaps going to be more aggressive on that end of the floor this season. While he failed to record a defensive stat, managers should feel comfortable that he will get things going on that end of the floor, sooner rather than later.
Oct 17, 2025
Available Friday
Holmgren (shoulder) is available for Friday's preseason game against the Nuggets, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren will return to action in the Thunder's preseason finale after a five-game absence. With the 23-year-old forward back in the starting five, Cason Wallace will move to the bench.
Oct 14, 2025
Ruled out Tuesday
Holmgren (shoulder) has been ruled out for Tuesday's preseason game against the Bucks, per the broadcast.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren is dealing with shoulder soreness and will miss his fourth consecutive preseason game. His final chance to play ahead of the regular season will come Friday against Denver.
Oct 11, 2025
Won't play vs. Indiana
Holmgren (shoulder) has been ruled out for Saturday's preseason game against the Pacers, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren will be among the notable players on his squad who will not suit up. The Gonzaga product is dealing with shoulder soreness and has missed the team's last three preseason games.
Oct 9, 2025
Dealing with shoulder soreness
Holmgren (shoulder) is out for Thursday's preseason game against the Hornets, Rylan Stiles of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Thunder are taking a cautious approach while the star big man manages shoulder soreness. He can be deemed day-to-day ahead of Saturday's exhibition matchup in Indiana. Ousmane Dieng and Jaylin Williams should see more frontcourt playing time once Isaiah Hartenstein's night comes to an end.
Oct 6, 2025
Unavailable Monday
Holmgren (rest) will not play in Monday's preseason game against the Mavericks, Nick Gallo of the Thunder's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren sat out Sunday's preseason opener against the Hornets and will remain sidelined Monday. Preserving the young big man's health is a priority for the Thunder after he was limited to just 32 regular-season appearances last year. With Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein both unavailable, Ousmane Dieng and Jaylin Williams should see extended frontcourt minutes against the Mavericks.
Oct 5, 2025
Out Sunday
Holmgren (rest) won't play in Sunday's preseason game against the Hornets, Nick Gallo of the Thunder's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Along with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luguentz Dort, Cason Wallace, Alex Caruso and Ajay Mitchell, Holmgren will sit out the Thunder's preseason opener as club evaluates the rest of its roster. Their next opportunity to suit up will come Monday against Dallas.
Jul 9, 2025
Agrees to five-year max extension
Holmgren agreed to a fully guaranteed five-year maximum rookie contract extension with the Thunder on Wednesday that could reach $250 million, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing his rookie season due to a foot injury, the 2022 No. 2 overall pick appeared in all 82 regular-season games as a sophomore. Holmgren was injured again last season, missing three months early in the season due to a hip fracture. However, he appeared in all 23 postseason games, averaging 15.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in 29.8 minutes per game, and was an integral part in Oklahoma City's first NBA title. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander landed a long-term extension Tuesday, and now the Thunder will turn their sights on locking down All-NBA talent Jalen Williams.
Apr 12, 2025
Won't face Pelicans
Holmgren (back) is out for Sunday's game against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Just like it happened Friday against the Jazz, the Thunder will rest the majority of their regular rotation members for this regular-season finale after securing not only the top seed in the Western Conference, but also the best record in the league. Holmgren's injury isn't expected to be serious, though, and the big man is likely to be available for the start of the playoffs April 19. His absence means the Thunder will likely turn to Jaylin Williams to shoulder the bulk of the load in the frontcourt alongside Kenrich Williams.
Apr 10, 2025
Won't play vs. Utah
Holmgren (back) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
After recording a double-double in Wednesday's win against the Suns, Holmgren won't be available Friday. The Thunder seem to be in rest mode moving forward, with several star players ruled out for this game. Aaron Wiggins, Kenrich Williams and Jaylin Williams will likely get more time on the floor.
Apr 10, 2025
Logs double-double in win
Holmgren chipped in 22 points (5-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 12-13 FT), 10 rebounds and four assists in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 125-112 win over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Since returning from a lengthy absence, Holmgren has sat frequently for injury management and has ceded significant minutes to Isaiah Hartenstein (heel), but his teammate's absence allowed Holmgren to take full control under the basket. Despite an injury-filled 2024-25 campaign, the former first-round pick's numbers have been solid, averaging 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.2 blocked shots over 32 games.
Apr 7, 2025
Quiet in 25 minutes
Holmgren finished with 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one block in 25 minutes during Sunday's 126-99 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
The Lakers ran away with this game early, so the Thunder pulled their starters quicker than usual. The Thunder have already claimed the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, so there could be some maintenance for their key players in the final four games of the regular season. The Thunder begin a back-to-back set Tuesday in a rematch against the Lakers.
Apr 3, 2025
Swats season-high six shots in win
Holmgren chipped in 22 points (7-14 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 8-9 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists, six blocks and two steals over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 119-103 victory over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren continues to make a strong defensive impact, as he has logged multiple steals eight times this season and is averaging an impressive 2.4 blocks per game. Holmgren has now logged back-to-back double-doubles but is struggling with his outside shot as of late, converting just 30.6 percent of his 3.6 three-point attempts per contest across his previous 10 appearances.
Apr 1, 2025
Minimal impact in win
Holmgren totaled five points (2-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt), six rebounds and three assists in Monday's 145-117 win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren had a quiet outing Monday, scoring in single figures for his second consecutive game. The 22-year-old has been dealing with a hip injury that kept him out of the lineup Saturday, which may be impacting his performance. Of the Thunder's past 12 games, Holmgren has been active for nine contests, averaging 13.4 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
Mar 31, 2025
Good to go Monday
Holmgren (hip) has been cleared to play Monday against the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren will return to the court following an absence Saturday against the Pacers due to a nagging hip injury. He's averaging 28.8 minutes over his last five matchups and could have his minutes monitored closely Monday to ensure he doesn't suffer any setbacks.
Mar 30, 2025
Iffy against Chicago
Holmgren (hip) is questionable for Monday's game against the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren has been in and out of the lineup lately as he continues to nurse a left hip injury. If he is unable to suit up, Kenrich Williams and Jaylin Williams (hip, questionable) would be candidates for increased minutes.
Mar 29, 2025
Ruled out Saturday
Holmgren (hip) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Following a disappointing four-point performance in Thursday's win against the Grizzlies, Holmgren will not play in Saturday's matchup against Indiana to manage his left hip issue. The Thunder will likely turn to Kenrich Williams and Jaylin Williams (hip) to shoulder the load in the frontcourt.
Mar 25, 2025
Good to go against Sacramento
Holmgren (hip) is available for Tuesday's game versus the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren has been upgraded from questionable to available Tuesday after missing the Thunder's previous contest due to a left hip strain. Holmgren is averaging 15.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 blocks in 28.0 minutes across his last 10 appearances.
Mar 24, 2025
Iffy for Tuesday
Holmgren is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Kings with a left hip strain.
ANALYSIS
After being a late scratch ahead of Sunday's game against the Clippers, Holmgren remains iffy to suit up for Tuesday. The Thunder would likely lean on Isaiah Hartenstein for the bulk of the center minutes if Holmgren remains sidelined against the Kings, with Jaylin Williams and Kenrich Williams likely handling expanded roles in this case.
Mar 23, 2025
Won't go Sunday
Holmgren (hip) is out for Sunday's game against the Clippers, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was a late addition to the injury report due to a left hip strain that will hold him out of Sunday's contest. Kenrich Williams and Jaylin Williams are candidates for increased run in Holmgren's absence.
Mar 23, 2025
Added to injury report Sunday
Holmgren is questionable to suit up for Sunday's game against the Clippers due to a left hip strain, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was a late addition to the injury report due to the left hip strain. The 22-year-old has made seven appearances in March, during which he has averaged 15.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.7 assists across 29.3 minutes per game. If Holmgren is sidelined Sunday, Kenrich Williams and Jaylin Williams are candidates for an increased role.
Mar 16, 2025
Cleared to play Sunday
Holmgren (rest) is available for Sunday's game against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Holmgren will return to action Sunday after sitting out Saturday's win in Detroit. Holmgren chipped in 23 points (8-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-7 FT), 15 rebounds, two assists and one block over 34 minutes during Wednesday's 118-112 win over Boston, but his production has been sporadic since returning from a three-game absence in early February.
Mar 14, 2025
Resting Saturday against Detroit
Holmgren (rest) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
With the Thunder playing a back-to-back set this weekend, Holmgren will get the day off Saturday and should return for Sunday's contest against Milwaukee. Isaiah Hartenstein will likely reenter the Thunder's starting lineup due to Holmgren's absence.
Mar 12, 2025
Bounces back with big double-double
Holmgren chipped in 23 points (8-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-7 FT), 15 rebounds, two assists and one block over 34 minutes during Wednesday's 118-112 win over Boston.
ANALYSIS
After scoring just eight points in Monday's loss to Denver, Holmgren bounced back with a big double-double against a Celtics team without Kristaps Porzingis (illness). Holmgren has averaged 15.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.4 blocks, 2.0 assists and 1.3 three-pointers in 27.6 minutes across eight appearances following the All-Star break, swatting multiple shots in six of these outings. Holmgren has been occasionally sitting out for rest purposes of late, which could remain an issue for fantasy managers as the 54-12 Thunder look to preserve the star big man for the postseason.
Mar 11, 2025
Struggles in loss to Denver
Holmgren recorded eight points (3-11 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 29 minutes during Monday's 140-127 loss to Denver.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren couldn't get going in the second leg against the Nuggets, connecting on only three of his 11 field-goal attempts and missing all five attempts from beyond the arc Monday. In his last 10 games for the Thunder, the second-year big man averaged 12.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game, shooting 47 percent from the floor and 29.4 percent from deep.
Mar 10, 2025
Not on injury report
Holmgren is not on the injury report for Monday's game against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
For the first time since Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 of 2024, Holmgren appears set to feature in both games of this back-to-back set -- Holmgren played 26 minutes against Denver on Monday, posting 14 points, eight rebounds, one assist and four blocks.
Mar 8, 2025
Will play Sunday
Holmgren has been cleared to play in Sunday's game against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren will return to the floor for the Thunder on Sunday after missing the last two games. The second-year big man continues to fill up the stat sheet on a nightly basis for Oklahoma City when healthy, averaging 15.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 2.7 blocks per game while shooting 49.5 percent from the floor and 35.9 percent from deep.
Mar 7, 2025
Downgraded to out
Holmgren (lower leg) is out for Friday's game versus the Trail Blazers, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren will miss his second straight contest Friday due to a right lower leg contusion. With Isaiah Hartenstein (nose) also out, Jaylin Williams will likely receive increased playing time. Holmgren's next chance to suit up is Sunday's matchup with Denver.
Mar 6, 2025
Questionable against Portland
Holmgren (leg) has been listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
After missing Wednesday's win against the Grizzlies, Holmgren might be able to return to the floor against Portland on Friday. The 22-year-old big man has played in only 18 games for the Thunder this season, averaging 15.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and a career-high 2.7 blocks per game, shooting 49.5 percent from the floor and 35.9 percent from beyond the arc.
Mar 5, 2025
Out against Memphis
Holmgren will not play Wednesday against the Grizzlies with a right lower leg contusion.
ANALYSIS
A contusion is generally a day-to-day issue, but it's not a surprise to see the Thunder exercise caution. For now, Holmgren can be considered questionable for Friday's game versus the Trail Blazers. Isaiah Hartenstein is likely to start Wednesday and could offer a bit more upside than usual in fantasy.
Mar 4, 2025
Double-doubles in win
Holmgren registered 11 points (4-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals over 30 minutes during Monday's 137-128 win over Houston.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren led the Thunder in rebounds and blocks Monday, though he struggled with efficiency in his return to game action after missing Sunday's win over the Spurs due to a sprained left ankle. Despite shooting woes, the 22-year-old logged his seventh double-double through 18 regular-season outings in the win. Additionally, the second-year big man recorded multiple blocks for the 14th time this season.
Mar 3, 2025
Available to play
Holmgren (ankle) is available for Monday's game against Houston.
ANALYSIS
After missing Sunday's game against the Spurs, Holmgren has the green light to suit up for the second leg of this back-to-back set. Presumably, Isaiah Hartenstein will move to the bench as a result. Through 17 games this season, Hartenstein is averaging 15.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 2.7 blocks.
Mar 1, 2025
Not playing Sunday
Holmgren (ankle) is out for Sunday's game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren exited Friday's win over the Hawks after notching seven points, four rebounds and three assists across 15 minutes, and the big man simply couldn't play through an ankle injury that was bothering before the contest. It's unclear if Holmgren will have to endure a spell on the sidelines, but his next chance to play will come Monday against the Rockets in the second leg of a back-to-back set.
Feb 28, 2025
Leaves Friday due to ankle sprain
Holmgren will not return for the second half of Friday's game against the Hawks due to a left ankle sprain, Andrew Schlecht of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren appeared to tweak his left ankle early in the first quarter of Friday's game, but he played through the injury and finished the first half with 15 minutes of court time. However, the issue appears severe enough to keep him off the floor for the second half, and he'll end his night with seven points (3-8 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds and three assists. It remains to be seen whether the injury will put Holmgren in jeopardy of missing Sunday's road contest against the Spurs. Isaiah Hartenstein will enter the Thunder's starting five for the second half due to Holmgren's injury.
Feb 28, 2025
Green light to play Friday
Holmgren (calf) is available for Friday's game against the Hawks, Nick Gallo of the Thunder's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren popped up on the injury report due to a right calf contusion, but it doesn't appear to be severe enough for him to be sidelined Friday. He has averaged 14.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 3.3 blocks and 1.2 steals over 27.5 minutes per game in his six outings since returning from a right hip fracture.
Feb 28, 2025
Deemed questionable Friday
Holmgren is listed as questionable for Friday's game against Atlanta due to a right calf contusion, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was a late addition to the injury report due to the calf contusion, which is a new injury for the big man. If the 22-year-old is sidelined, Jaylin Williams and Kenrich Williams are candidates for an uptick in playing time. Over his last five outings, Holmgren has averaged 16.8 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.2 blocks, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steals across 28.6 minutes per contest.
Feb 27, 2025
Massive line in win vs. Brooklyn
Holmgren finished Wednesday's 129-121 victory over the Nets with 22 points (7-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), 17 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals over 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way in scoring for the Thunder, but there's no question Holmgren had the best all-around line, as he recorded at least two tallies in each of the six major categories, including three-pointers made. Holmgren, who missed the second leg of the back-to-back set against the Timberwolves, is averaging 14.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.3 blocks per game since the beginning of February.
Feb 25, 2025
Available for Wednesday
Holmgren (rest) will be available for Wednesday's game against Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was held out for rest Monday against the Timberwolves, but he'll be back in the lineup alongside Isaiah Hartenstein (face). In his last five outings, Holmgren has posted averages of 13.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 3.4 blocks in 26.6 minutes per game.
Feb 24, 2025
Resting Monday
Holmgren won't play Monday against the Timberwolves due to rest.
ANALYSIS
After posting 19 points, four rebounds, one assist and three blocks in 28 minutes during Sunday's 130-123 win over Minnesota, Holmgren will take a seat for the second half of a back-to-back set. The third-year big man isn't expected to play both halves of back-to-back sets anytime soon, and his production, outside of blocks, has been down since he returned to action at the beginning of February. Over five appearances, Holmgren has averaged 13.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 3.4 blocks in 26.6 minutes per game.
Feb 22, 2025
Drops 20 on Jazz in win
Holmgren posted 20 points (7-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and three blocks across 28 minutes during Friday's 130-107 win over Utah.
ANALYSIS
It was Holmgren's best scoring effort since Nov. 8, and coming out of the All-Star break he appears fully back up to game speed after missing nearly three months due to a hip injury. It's not clear whether OKC the 22-year-old center will be allowed to play in back-to-back contests yet, so he could get rested for one end of the Thunder's home-and-home set against the Timberwolves on Sunday and Monday.
Feb 14, 2025
Double-double in Thursday's loss
Holmgren supplied 11 points (3-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals over 30 minutes during Thursday's 116-101 loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out Wednesday's contest, Holmgren returned to handle his biggest workload in three appearances since recovering from a fractured hip and produce his fifth double-double of the season. With additional rest coming over the All-Star break, Holmgren could have some of his workload restrictions lifted when the Thunder resume play Feb. 21 in Utah.
Feb 13, 2025
Good to go against Minnesota
Holmgren (rest) isn't on the injury report for Thursday's game versus the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren will return to action Thursday after missing the first half of Oklahoma City's back-to-back Wednesday due to rest purposes. Holmgren should reclaim his starting spot from Aaron Wiggins against Minnesota.
Feb 11, 2025
Resting Wednesday
Holmgren (rest) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Heat, Rylan Stiles of FanSided.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren has played in two of the Thunder's last three games after returning from a right iliac wing fracture. He'll continue to rest and operate on a minutes restriction when he is on the floor, and his next chance to suit up will be Thursday against the Timberwolves. Aaron Wiggins, Luguentz Dort and Isaiah Joe are all candidates to enter the Thunder's starting lineup Wednesday due to Holmgren's absence.
Feb 11, 2025
Career-high five blocks in win
Holmgren contributed 12 points (4-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), six rebounds, five blocks and one steal across 25 minutes during Monday's 137-101 victory over New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren is starting to get back to form as one of the Thunder's best all-around players, as he recorded a career-high five blocks in Monday's blowout win against the Pelicans. Despite only playing 25 minutes in the win over New Orleans, the 22-year-old big man made his presence known defensively while also showing he might be coming around offensively, scoring 12 points, which is three points shy of what he averaged last season (15.0) for Oklahoma City.
Feb 9, 2025
Not on injury report for Monday
Holmgren (rest) is off the injury report for Monday's game against New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren sat out of Saturday's win over Memphis after returning from a 39-game absence due to a right iliac wing fracture in Wednesday's win over Toronto. The big man played 22 minutes during his return, and he'll likely continue to operate under a similar minutes restriction Monday.
Feb 8, 2025
Not playing Saturday vs. Memphis
Holmgren (rest) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Grizzlies, Rylan Stiles of FanSided.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren, who had been out of action since Nov. 10 due to a right iliac wing fracture, made his return Friday against the Raptors and finished with four points, five rebounds, four blocks and two steals over 22 minutes. He'll continue to have his minutes restricted while working his way back from his injury, and his next opportunity to play will be Monday against the Pelicans. Jaylin Williams and Isaiah Joe are candidates to enter the starting lineup due to Holmgren's absence.
Feb 8, 2025
Makes impact in limited court time
Holmgren (hip) tallied four points (2-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt), five rebounds, four blocks, two steals and one assist across 22 minutes in Friday's 121-109 win over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
After sustaining a right iliac wing fracture Nov. 10, Holmgren was generally expected to be sidelined through the All-Star break, but he made his surprise return to the action Friday, joining Isaiah Hartenstein as a starter in the frontcourt. Though he was operating under a minutes limit in his first game in three months, Holmgren made a immediate impact with his length on the defensive end. He recording six defensive counters during his time on the floor while holding opposing Raptors to 1-for-8 shooting in the paint as a contesting defender, per Second Spectrum. Holmgren should see his minutes steadily ramp up in the games to come, though the Thunder could opt to hold him out of action entirely for maintenance purposes Saturday versus the Grizzlies in the second leg of a back-to-back set.
Feb 6, 2025
Left off injury report
Holmgren (hip) isn't on the injury report for Friday's game versus the Raptors, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren hasn't played since Nov. 10 due to a fractured right hip. However, considering the 22-year-old big man was expected to be re-evaluated in 3-5 weeks from mid-January, a return to action Friday can be seen as the best-case scenario. While Holmgren will likely operate under a minutes restriction as he works his way fully back to game shape, he should start in the Thunder's frontcourt alongside Isaiah Hartenstein.
Jan 17, 2025
Out for at least three more weeks
Holmgren (hip) will be re-evaluated in approximately three-to-five weeks, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren is continuing to progress in his return-to-play protocol as he continues to recover from a fractured hip, but he still has some hurdles to climb and may not be ready to return until after the All-Star break. With Isaiah Hartenstein (calf) also on the shelf for about a week, Jaylin Williams and Branden Carlson should split the traditional center minutes for the Thunder, but Oklahoma City's deep rotation allows the team to use Jalen Williams as a small-ball five with regularity.
Jan 11, 2025
Beginning to ramp up
Holmgren (hip) joined the Thunder for their four-game road trip that began Wednesday and is beginning to increase his physical activity, Joel Lorenzi of The Oklahoman reports.
ANALYSIS
Prior to Wednesday's 129-122 loss to the Cavaliers, Holmgren was seen going through some movement drills on the court during the Thunder's shootaround that day. The activity came just over a week after Holmgren was cleared to ditch the crutches he had been using to get around since suffering a right iliac wing fracture Nov. 10. Now two months removed from the injury, Holmgren is within the 8-to-10-week period the Thunder had previously cited as the point that the team would provide an update on his return-to-play protocol. Oklahoma City is thus expected to update Holmgren's status soon, though since he's not yet practicing, he's probably at least a couple weeks away from being ready for game action.
Nov 11, 2024
Will miss at least eight weeks
Holmgren suffered a right iliac hip fracture during Sunday's loss to the Warriors and a return to play protocol will be provided in 8-to-10 weeks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren played five minutes and recorded four rebounds before leaving Sunday's contest after attempting to block Andrew Wiggins. Isaiah Joe started the second half in place of Holmgren, but the Thunder likely need to add some height to the rotation eventually, especially with Isaiah Hartenstein (hamstring), Kenrich Williams (knee) and Jaylin Williams (hamstring) also sidelined. In their absences, Aaron Wiggins, Dillon Jones and Ousmane Dieng could carve out larger roles, but in the end, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams will need to step their respective games up to help mitigate the loss of Holmgren, whose 2.6 blocks per game was fueling the Thunder's top-rated defense early in the season.
Nov 10, 2024
Won't return Sunday
Holmgren (hip) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Warriors, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was helped to the locker room in the first quarter after landing on his right hip while attempting a block on Andrew Wiggins. Given the hard fall, it wouldn't be surprising if Holmgren is held out Monday against the Clippers. Isaiah Joe was inserted into the Thunder's starting five in the second half in Holmgren's absence.
Nov 10, 2024
Leaves game with leg injury
Holmgren (leg) went to the locker room in the first half of Sunday's game against the Warriors, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren hit the floor hard after attempting a block on Andrew Wiggins in the first quarter of Sunday's game. He wasn't able to put any pressure on his leg, and he was eventually helped back to the locker room by Isaiah Hartenstein (hand). If Holmgren is sidelined for the rest of Sunday's game, Ousmane Dieg would figure to see more minutes at center.
Nov 9, 2024
Posts 29 points in win
Holmgren totaled 29 points (8-14 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 9-10 FT), five rebounds, one assist and three blocks in 29 minutes during Friday's 126-107 victory over Houston.
ANALYSIS
The Thunder have struggled a bit offensively, but when Holmgrean and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are dialed in at he same time, an excellent team result usually follows. Holmgren has registered double-digit rebounds four times this season, and his five-rebound result Friday was a bit of an outlier. Despite Friday's low number, Holmgren is a nightly double-double threat who will also add his share of blocked shots.
Nov 3, 2024
Pulls down 14 boards Saturday
Holmgren ended Saturday's 105-92 win over the Clippers with 10 points (3-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 14 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 29 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren didn't have his best shooting effort Saturday, as he struggled with the physicality of Ivica Zubac near the rim. However, he found other ways to contribute en route to reaching his third double-double of the season. Despite his noticeable two-way impact, Holmgren's shooting numbers have been trending in the wrong direction -- he's failed to surpass the 10-point mark in his last two outings while shooting a 33.3 percent from the field in that span after delivering blistering numbers in his first four contests.
Nov 2, 2024
Muted production in blowout
Holmgren ended with six points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound, three assists, five blocks and one steal over 18 minutes during Friday's 137-114 win over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Since Friday's contest was out of hand by the beginning of the third quarter, Holmgren recorded season-lows in minutes, points and rebounds. However, the second-year center still managed to swat five shots. Holmgren is averaging 19.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.8 blocks, 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 28.8 minutes across his five appearances this season.
Oct 28, 2024
Standout two-way effort Sunday
Holmgren supplied 25 points (8-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-8 FT), nine rebounds, four assists, six blocks and one steal over 33 minutes during Sunday's 128-104 victory over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren didn't repeat Saturday's output in the win against the Bulls when he grabbed 16 boards, but he did an excellent job of filling out the stat sheet in this one. The six blocks were just two shy of his career-best mark, set as a rookie in 2023-24, and his numbers have been eye-popping to begin the campaign. He's scored 20-plus points in each of his first three appearances this season, while recording multiple blocks each time and grabbing double-digit rebounds twice.
Oct 25, 2024
Logs massive 25/14 double-double
Holmgren closed Thursday's 102-87 win over the Nuggets with 25 points (11-18 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 14 rebounds, five assists, four blocks and two steals in 36 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren is coming off an excellent rookie season, and he could have run away with the Rookie of the Year award if Victor Wembanyama wasn't in the mix. The Gonzaga product should see a substantial increase in minutes this season due to the lack of competition on the roster. Isaiah Hartenstein (hand) will be out at least another month, giving Holmgren max minutes at the five.
Oct 23, 2024
Transactional formality
Holmgren's fourth-year team option was exercised by Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren displayed two-way excellence last season, posting a 63.2 true-shooting percentage while generating 2.9 steals plus blocks per game in his first season of NBA action. He's now locked up with the Thunder through the 2025-26 season.
Oct 10, 2024
Limited impact Wednesday
Holmgren ended with 10 points (2-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-8 FT), six rebounds and three assists across 17 minutes in Wednesday's 122-113 preseason loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren had a rough shooting performance in this preseason contest, but he still made his presence felt on the glass and as a playmaker. The second-year big man is set to open the season in a starting role, though his position and partner in the frontcourt are still undetermined. Holmgren will aim to improve in his sophomore year after averaging 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.3 blocks per game as a rookie across 82 regular-season appearances in 2023-24.
Oct 8, 2024
Efficient in limited run Monday
Holmgren posted 10 points (5-5 FG), two blocks, one rebound and one steal across nine minutes during Monday's 112-107 preseason win over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren managed to tie the game high in blocks in only nine minutes, and he also ended as the club's fourth-highest scorer while shooting a perfect 5-for-5. The 22-year-old is in for a huge second season alongside Isaiah Hartenstein in the frontcourt, and Holmgren's exceptional two-way abilities will likely make him a mainstay in fantasy lineups.
May 14, 2024
Nears double-double with four swats
Holmgren ended Monday's 100-96 win over Dallas in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 18 points (6-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), nine rebounds, four blocks and one steal over 40 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren stepped his game up on a night where Jalen Williams struggled with his shot, and the star rookie made his presence felt on both ends of the court, showing efficiency in his touch near the rim and being his usual disruptive self on the defensive end. Holmgren is averaging 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.3 blocks per game in the series against Dallas. Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday in OKC.
May 11, 2024
Records 13/8/3 line in loss
Holmgren finished Saturday's 105-101 loss to Dallas in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 13 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, four blocks and one steal in 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren has struggled a bit against Dallas' defensive front through three games after averaging 15.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocked shots over four games against the Pelicans. The Mavericks have been able to stay fresh in the paint with Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively platooning at the five, and Jaylin Williams hasn't offered the same kind of secondary support. Holmgren has also failed to keep Luka Doncic off the glass, and he'll need to improve in several areas to keep the Thunder in the series.
May 8, 2024
As advertised in Game 1 win
Holmgren totaled 19 points (8-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, three blocks and two steals over 31 minutes during Tuesday's 117-95 victory over the Mavericks in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren produced on both ends of the floor, scoring 19 points to go with five combined steals and blocks. After a stellar rookie season, Holmgren is looking to cement himself as an elite center despite his age. The Thunder will be hoping for a repeat performance Thursday before heading back to Dallas for games 3 and 4.
Apr 30, 2024
Flirts with double-double
Holmgren notched 14 points (5-12 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds and five assists across 35 minutes during Monday's 97-89 win over the Pelicans in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren couldn't get his shot working from downtown, but he was able to bounce back from a sluggish six-point showing in Game 3. The Gonzaga product averaged 15.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.8 blocks during a four-game sweep of New Orleans.
Apr 25, 2024
Goes for 26 points Wednesday
Holmgren chipped in 26 points (9-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and two blocks across 29 minutes during Wednesday's 124-92 win over the Pelicans in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was expected to have a tough matchup while being guarded by Jonas Valanciunas, but the rookie has looked outstanding in his first two playoff contests, posting a double-double in Game 1 and delivering his best scoring output in more than a month in the second game of the series. Holmgren should continue to have a prominent role for the Thunder ahead of Game 3 on Saturday at Smoothie King Center.
Apr 22, 2024
Swats five shots in win Sunday
Holmgren ended with 15 points (6-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists, five blocks and one steal in 32 minutes during Sunday's 94-92 victory over the Pelicans in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren had all sorts of problems with Jonas Valanciunas on the defensive end, and his shooting wasn't entirely efficient. However, the rookie didn't look outmatched in the first playoff appearance of his career and looked impressive, particularly on the defensive end with a few key blocks down the stretch, including one in the dying stages of the fourth quarter where the Pelicans were creeping on a comeback. Holmgren is not going to lead the Thunder in scoring since he plays alongside Jalen Williams and Shai GIlgeous-Alexander, but he's still an excellent two-way threat every time he steps on the court.
Apr 15, 2024
Flirts with double-double in finale
Holmgren closed with 13 points (6-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds and one block in 12 minutes during Sunday's 135-86 victory over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren's result was astounding considering his 12 minutes of usage in the blowout win. The Thunder's standout center sat early with the rest of the starters, but he had one of the best stat lines on the roster while logging the second-lowest minute total.
Apr 13, 2024
Dominant two-way effort in win
Holmgren provided 22 points (9-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one steal across 25 minutes during Friday's 125-107 victory over the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren turned in a strong performance Friday, helping the Thunder to a clutch victory. They now sit atop the Western Conference and a win over Dallas on Sunday would secure them a first-place finish. Holmgren has been a revelation this season, taking the Thunder's ceiling to another level. From a fantasy perspective, there is a chance managers are going to have to part with a second-round pick to secure his services next year.
Apr 8, 2024
Logs double-double Sunday
Holmgren contributed 20 points (6-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 5-7 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and two steals across 31 minutes during Sunday's 121-118 win over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren had been delivering a few subpar outings in recent weeks, but he bounced back in a big way here and notched his first double-double since March 22. The rookie big man will have a tough challenge Tuesday, as the Thunder will take on Domantas Sabonis and the Kings. Holmgren will enter that matchup with averages of 13.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.6 blocks per game over his last 10 contests, though at least he's scored in double digits in five of his last six.
Apr 4, 2024
Subpar outing vs. Boston
Holmgren ended with 11 points (5-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds and two assists across 27 minutes during Wednesday's 135-100 loss to Boston.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren has been struggling in recent days and has been remarkably inconsistent, scoring 11 or fewer points in four of his last seven outings, including three games in which he was held to single-digit points. Holmgren is also shooting a woeful 17.9 percent from three-point range in that span. He remains a player capable of impacting the game on both ends of the court, but it's clear he's hit some kind of rookie wall, and he'll have to shake off his struggles either in the final week of the regular season or in the playoffs.
Apr 2, 2024
Strong from deep as top scorer
Holmgren tallied 22 points (7-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven rebounds, two blocks and one assist over 29 minutes in Tuesday's 109-105 loss to Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren connected on a trio of threes while recording a team-high-tying pair of blocks and posting a team-best scoring mark in a 20-point performance. Holmgren, who ended three boards shy of a double-double, has made at least three threes in 18 games this season, surpassing the 20-point mark on 21 occasions. The rookie has now recorded at least 20 points and six rebounds in two of his last three outings.
Mar 30, 2024
Goes for 20 points Friday
Holmgren had 20 points (6-10 FG, 8-8 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one block across 28 minutes during Friday's 128-103 victory over Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was coming off a woeful performance against the Rockets on Wednesday, finishing with just two points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) across 18 minutes, but the rookie big man bounced back admirably in this one. His numbers have decreased a bit compared to the opening weeks of the season as teams have started to plan accordingly to limit his impact on offense. Still, Holmgren remains a strong fantasy asset due to his ability to fill the stat sheet on any given night. He's averaging 15.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 blocks per game since the beginning of March.
Mar 25, 2024
Brutal shooting night Sunday
Holmgren had six points (1-10 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and four rebounds over 25 minutes during Sunday's 118-93 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
The 21-year-old center couldn't get anything going against Brook Lopez and the Milwaukee frontcourt, leading to Holmgren's worst scoring performance since he managed only four points against the Timberwolves on Jan. 29. He's been showing signs of fatigue toward the end of his first NBA season, scoring in single digits three times in the last eight games, and over that stretch Holmgren has averaged 15.4 points, 8.6 boards, 1.6 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.4 threes.

Tallies 22nd double-double Friday
Holmgren logged 18 points (8-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt), 10 rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 27 minutes during Friday's 123-103 victory over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren registered his fourth double-double in his last five appearances Friday. He led the Thunder in rebounds and was third behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams in scoring. Over his last five games, Holmgren has averaged 20.2 points on 57.6 percent shooting (including 45.5 percent from three on 4.4 3PA/G), 11.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.0 blocks over 31.3 minutes per game.
Mar 21, 2024
Erupts for 35 in Wednesday's win
Holmgren contributed 35 points (12-18 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 10-12 FT), 14 rebounds, one assist, three blocks and two steals over 31 minutes during Wednesday's 119-107 victory over Utah.
ANALYSIS
It was a huge all-around effort for Holmgren, who tied his season high in boards while topped 30 points for the first time since Jan. 8, thanks in part to a career-best performance from the free-throw line. The 21-year-old center is up to 21 double-doubles on the season, and over 14 games since the All-Star break he's averaging 18.6 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.7 threes while shooting 55.8 percent from the floor.
Mar 17, 2024
Double-doubles, swats three shots
Holmgren finished Saturday's 118-112 win over Memphis with 22 points (8-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal over 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren recorded a double-double for the third time over his last six appearances, and the rookie big man continues to make a huge impact on both ends of the court for a surging Thunder team. Holmgren is averaging 14.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 blocks per game since the beginning of March.
Mar 15, 2024
Flirts with double-double in win
Holmgren totaled 11 points (4-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 32 minutes during Thursday's 126-119 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren ended as one of five Thunder players with a double-digit point total while ending second on the team in rebounds and two boards shy of a double-double in a balanced outing. Holmgren has gotten back on track after two single-digit scoring games last weekend, tallying at least 10 points and eight rebounds in two straight appearances.
Mar 13, 2024
Double-double in Tuesday's loss
Holmgren finished Tuesday's 121-111 loss to the Pacers with 15 points (6-16 FG, 3-6 3Pt), 13 rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The double-double was Holmgren's 19th of the season, and it was a strong bounceback performance after the 21-year-old center managed just 15 points and nine boards total in his last two contests. The two-game swoon could be a sign Holmgren is wearing down toward the end of his first NBA campaign, but there had been little sign of fatigue prior to the weekend -- over 11 games since the All-Star break, he's averaging 17.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.7 threes and 1.6 blocks.
Mar 7, 2024
Records double-double in victory
Holmgren finished Wednesday's 128-120 victory over the Trail Blazers with 21 points (6-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 8-10 FT), 14 rebounds, five assists and one block over 33 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was squelched by the Lakers Monday evening but had a much easier time against the short-handed Trail Blazers. The Gonzaga product is unlikely to best Victor Wembanyama as the season's top rookie, but he's a big part of the Thunder's elevation to the top of the Western Conference. As he matures, he will eventually be a more consistent double-double threat, but he has hit the mark 18 times this season.
Mar 4, 2024
Sniffs double-double in win
Holmgren had 14 points (5-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-5 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one steal across 32 minutes during Sunday's 118-110 victory over Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren likely ceded the battle for Rookie of the Year after getting out-rebounded by Victor Wembanyama last week, but he's an invaluable piece for the Thunder, who have finally found the right big man after years of struggling at the position. Holmgren hasn't missed a game this season and has started all 60 games, averaging 17.2 points, 7.8 rebounds ans 2.6 blocks after a lost season on the sidelines.
Mar 1, 2024
Loses battle against Wembanyama
Holmgren logged 23 points (8-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one block over 33 minutes during Thursday's 132-118 loss to the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren posted an excellent stat line, shooting the ball at an efficient clip, sniffing a double-double and making his presence felt on both ends of the court. However, he was outdueled by Victor Wembanyama, and there's a feel the race for the Rookie of the Year award officially ended after this game. That said, Holmgren continues to have an excellent season for the regular rookie standards, and he is already showing he can be a disruptive force on both ends of the court during his first year in The Association. Holmgren is averaging 19.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.8 blocks and 1.0 steals per game over his last 10 appearances.
Feb 26, 2024
Teases triple-double in win
Holmgren logged 29 points (11-16 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists, three blocks and one steal over 33 minutes during Sunday's 123-110 win over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
The second overall pick in the 2022 Draft has only gotten better as the season has progressed. Over the last 10 games, Holmgren is averaging 18.9 points, 8.5 boards, 3.1 blocks, 2.7 threes, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 59.3 percent from the floor and a dazzling 50.9 percent from long distance, and he's emerging as a perfect frontcourt partner for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on a Thunder team that is now tied with the Timberwolves for the best record in the Western Conference.
Feb 24, 2024
Efficient from field in win
Holmgren amassed 25 points (11-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds and two blocks over 23 minutes during Friday's 147-106 victory over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren missed just three of his 14 shots -- all of them from beyond the arc -- but recorded his third double-double over his last five appearances as the Thunder cruised to another easy win. Holmgren has been remarkably consistent for a rookie, scoring in double digits in nine games in a row and averaging 17.8 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.1 blocks and 2.1 assists per game during that stretch.
Feb 23, 2024
Swats three shots in double-double
Holmgren ended with 17 points (6-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and three blocks over 33 minutes during Thursday's 129-107 win over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren led OKC on the boards in the victory and tied for the team lead with three blocks. He added a healthy 17 points, ranking fourth on the team in that category. Holmgren finished with the 15th double-double of his impressive rookie campaign.
Feb 12, 2024
Stuffs stat sheet Sunday
Holmgren supplied 14 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists, four blocks and two steals in 31 minutes during Sunday's 127-113 victory over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren only attempted nine shots, making it the third time across his last five games in which he doesn't record double-digit shot attempts. Still, he is not dependent on his scoring figures to deliver solid fantasy performances. The rookie continues to find ways to make an impact on offense, and he's averaging 17.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 2.6 blocks and 1.6 steals per game since the beginning of February.
Feb 7, 2024
Back to best Tuesday
Holmgren racked up 22 points (8-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-4 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, four blocks and three steals over 31 minutes during Tuesday's 124-117 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren delivered another strong performance Tuesday, scoring 22 points for the second straight game. He chipped in a season-high three steals to go with his four blocks, proving pivotal on both ends of the floor. Although his level of production has decreased slightly over the past month, he should be a lock to finish inside the top 40 in what has been an impressive rookie campaign.
Feb 1, 2024
Improved performance in win
Holmgren ended Wednesday's 105-100 victory over the Nuggets with 18 points (7-13 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists and five blocks over 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Despite coming into the game under an injury cloud, Holmgren turned in an improved performance, helping the Thunder to a narrow victory. After a red-hot start to his rookie campaign, things have slowed over the past month. During that time, he has been outside the top 50 in standard leagues, averaging 14.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 1.4 three-pointers.
Jan 31, 2024
Good to go
Holmgren (ankle) is available for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was listed as questionable due to a left ankle sprain and wasn't present during the team's morning shootaround Wednesday, but he's been cleared to suit up and will continue his perfect attendance during the 2023-24 campaign. The rookie has struggled offensively over the last two games, scoring just 13 points on 6-for-20 shooting, but he's totaled 19 rebounds and four blocks during that stretch, proving he doesn't need to be a prolific scorer to make a fantasy impact.
Jan 31, 2024
Not seen at shootaround
Holmgren, who is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets with a left ankle sprain, wasn't spotted on the court for the Thunder's morning shootaround, Brett Dawson of SelloutCrowd.com reports.
ANALYSIS
While Dawson cautions not to read too much into Holmgren's absence from shootaround, a player's lack of participation in shootaround is often an indicator that he'll sit out a game later in the evening. Fantasy managers in leagues that set lineups daily will still want to verify Holmgren's status one way or the other as Wednesday's 8 p.m. ET tipoff approaches. If Holmgren is sidelined Wednesday for the first time all season, head coach Mark Daigneault could lean on a committee of Jaylin Williams, Kenrich Williams and Olivier Sarr to fill minutes at center. The Thunder could also experiment with more small-ball or guard-heavy lineups.
Jan 30, 2024
Questionable for Wednesday
Holmgren is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Nuggets due to a left ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren assumedly sprained his ankle against the Timberwolves and is now in danger of missing his first contest of the season. Jaylin Williams and Kenrich Williams will likely receive increased playing time if Holmgren is ruled out.
Jan 30, 2024
Quiet game in single digits
Holmgren logged four points (2-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists and three blocks across 32 minutes during Monday's 107-101 loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren had a quiet game offensively in a battle of the top teams in the Western Conference on Monday, struggling shooting from the field while failing to reach double figures in scoring despite hauling in a team-high-tying rebound total and leading the team with a trio of blocks. Holmgren tied a season-low point total in the defeat, ending in single digits in scoring for the seventh time this year and for the third time in his last five contests.
Jan 25, 2024
Matches up against ROTY rival
Holmgren ended with 17 points (7-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-3 FT), nine rebounds, four assists, three blocks and one steal across 30 minutes during Wednesday's 140-114 win over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren didn't quite reach the box score productivity of his ROTY rival Victor Wembanyama, and the two rookie big men had a fun exchange of blocks and buckets in the fourth quarter. Holmgren's production has dipped slightly in the new year, and over his last six games he has averaged 12.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 3.2 steals over 31.7 minutes per game.
Jan 21, 2024
Emerges victorious
Holmgren finished Saturday's 102-97 victory over Minnesota with 15 points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal across 33 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren battled the persistence of Rudy Gobert, firepower of Karl-Anthony Towns and downhill force of Anthony Edwards all night, ultimately doing just enough to earn a win in a defensively-oriented affair. Oklahoma City shot an uncharacteristically poor 39.5 percent from the field as a team, adding contextual value to Holmgren's offensive performance.
Jan 14, 2024
Strong all-around performance
Holmgren ended with 15 points (7-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt), eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal across 32 minutes during Saturday's 112-100 win over Orlando.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren wasn't entirely precise with his shot from beyond the arc, but that's perhaps the only thing that can be criticized following another impressive outing. The rookie big man has found ways to impact the game on both ends of the court in every one of his appearances, and he hasn't rejected having a prominent role on offense in his first year in The Association. His versatility on defense certainly helps from a fantasy perspective as well, and he's averaging 19.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.0 blocks per game over his last 10 contests.
Jan 11, 2024
Sniffs double-double Wednesday
Holmgren supplied 23 points (10-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and three blocks in 33 minutes during Wednesday's 128-120 win over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was extremely efficient from the field despite his woes from beyond the arc, but he did more than just scoring, and he also made his presence felt on the defensive end with his 16th outing with three or more blocks. Holmgren is averaging 19.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.0 blocks per game across five January contests.
Jan 9, 2024
Zaps Wizards for 31
Holmgren finished with 31 points (11-14 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 5-8 FT), four rebounds, five assists and two blocks across 32 minutes during Monday's 136-128 victory over Washington.
ANALYSIS
It's the first time Holmgren has topped 30 points since Nov. 25, when he lit up the Sixers for 33. The 2022 second overall pick has scored in double digits in 15 straight games though while flashing his diverse skill set, averaging 19.0 points, 6.7 boards, 2.8 assists, 2.8 blocks and 1.9 threes over that stretch, shooting 59.1 percent from the floor and 45.3 percent from beyond the arc.
Jan 6, 2024
Decent output in loss
Holmgren closed Friday's 124-115 loss to the Nets with 17 points (8-15 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren missed all four of his three-point attempts and failed to register multiple blocks or steals for the second consecutive appearance. Opposing defenses have started preparing for Holmgren, and his numbers have reflected that a bit. Over his last 10 games, the former Gonzaga star is averaging 18.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.4 blocks per game. Having said that, those numbers are still above average for a rookie.
Jan 3, 2024
Swats four shots Tuesday
Holmgren totaled 14 points (5-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and four blocks across 33 minutes during Tuesday's 127-123 win over Boston.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren played a secondary role on offense since Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey led the way in scoring, but he still made his presence felt in a game where he had to deal with a tough assignment in Kristaps Porzingis. Holmgren has multiple blocks in four games in a row, a span in which he's also averaging 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest.
Jan 1, 2024
Double-double in Sunday's win
Holmgren contributed 18 points (7-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 32 minutes during Sunday's 124-108 win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was efficient from the field and recorded his 11th double-double of the season, a decent mark for a rookie, considering he's played only 31 games. Furthermore, what's even more impressive is that he's recorded two or more blocks in all but two of his 13 appearances since the start of December. He's averaging 17.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.4 assists per game in that span.
Dec 30, 2023
Makes impact at
Holmgren produced 24 points (9-14 FG, 4-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 28 minutes during Friday's 119-93 win over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was impressive on both ends of the court Saturday, and even though he had to deal with Nikola Jokic the entire game, he posted an efficient performance and also left his mark defensively. Holmgren has enjoyed an extremely successful rookie campaign, and while he might sit behind Victor Wembanyama in the race for the Rookie of the Year, there's no question he has performed better than advertised so far in 2023-24. He's been on a scoring tear as well after putting up 20 or more points in four of his last five appearances.
Dec 28, 2023
Scores 22 points, swats four shots
Holmgren totaled 22 points (9-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, one assist and four blocks across 30 minutes during Wednesday's 129-120 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was impressive on both ends of the court for the Thunder, but his two-way contributions have been noticeable all year long for Oklahoma City. Holmgren also made some clutch defensive plays in the fourth quarter, including a block in an alley-oop when the Knicks were scratching a potential comeback. Holmgren has been playing well of late, averaging 16.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 3.7 blocks per game over his last 10 contests.
Dec 24, 2023
Produces double-double in loss
Holmgren accumulated 19 points (8-18 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-5 FT), 10 rebounds, three blocks and one steal over 34 minutes during Saturday's 129-120 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren shot under 50 percent for the first time in his past seven games, but he still managed to contribute a healthy 19 points, third-most on the Thunder. The standout rookie also paced the team in rebounds en route to his 10th double-double of the season. To round out a strong overall line, Holmgren tallied three more blocks. He's swatted multiple shots in 19 of his 27 contests on the campaign and ranks third in the league with 2.7 blocks per game.
Dec 22, 2023
Strong performance against LAC
Holmgren notched 23 points (9-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds and seven assists in 30 minutes during Thursday's 134-115 win over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
The rookie big man had another impressive outing in this one, putting up solid numbers on both ends of the court and reaching the 20-point plateau for the fifth time this season. Holmgren is averaging 17.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 2.6 assists per game over his last five outings.
Dec 19, 2023
Thrives defensively once again
Holmgren posted 17 points (7-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, two assists, seven blocks and one steal across 25 minutes during Monday's 116-97 victory over Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Undoubtedly, the seven blocks stand out for Holmgren, but fantasy managers should begin to get used to these performances from him. Aside from racking up 15 blocks over his last two games, the rookie big man has swatted multiple shots in seven outings in a row, and in 12 of his last 14 appearances. And this is without mentioning his steady contributions in points and rebounds, figures that make him a valuable, above-average contributor across all formats, and an absolute gem for dynasty leagues.
Dec 17, 2023
Sniffs triple-double in win
Holmgren finished with 17 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and nine blocks across 32 minutes during Saturday's 118-117 victory over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Even though Shai GIlgeous-Alexander deserves most of the praise after draining the game-winning shot in the final second Saturday, Holmgren certainly contributed to the win and finished just one block shy of posting a triple-double. His two-way impact has been enormous, and he has already settled as the Thunder's second-best scoring option behind Gilgeous-Alexander. He's averaging 16.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.1 assists per game over his last 10 contests.
Dec 15, 2023
Double-doubles in tough matchup
Holmgren notched 14 points (6-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and three blocks across 30 minutes during Thursday's 128-123 loss to Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren had to deal with Domantas Sabonis throughout the entire game, and while the rookie had some problems on the defensive end, he eventually adjusted and delivered a decent stat line. Holmgren might have fallen behind Victor Wembanyama in the race for the Rookie of the Year award, but there's no question he's been impressive in his first year in The Association. He has racked up eight double-doubles on the season while averaging 16.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.4 blocks per contest through 23 starts.
Dec 12, 2023
Efficient in win over Utah
Holmgren registered 16 points (6-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal across 25 minutes during Monday's 134-120 victory over Utah.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren has managed to deliver steady numbers of late, and though his numbers have not been as eye-popping as Victor Wembanyama's, he remains an above-average rookie who can make an impact on both ends of the court. A legit double-double threat every time he steps on the court, Holmgren is averaging 18.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.7 blocks per game over his last 10 outings.
Dec 9, 2023
Strong two-way effort
Holmgren finished with 21 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 8-8 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and three blocks in 35 minutes during Friday's 138-136 overtime victory over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren scored at least 20 points for the first time in his past five games, helping the Thunder to an impressive victory. Despite his inconsistent scoring of late, Holmgren has been able to maintain second-round value, thanks primarily to his elite shot-blocking numbers. For the season, he is averaging 2.5 blocks to go with 17.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 1.6 three-pointers. His time is now and it's safe to assume he is going to be a fantasy beast for many years to come.
Dec 3, 2023
All-around showing in victory
Holmgren recorded 11 points (4-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, five blocks and one steal in 30 minutes during Saturday's 126-120 win over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren did a little bit of everything to boost Oklahoma City, leading all Thunder players in rebounds and blocks while finishing with a double-double performance. Holmgren has tallied a double-double in seven games this season, now notching at least four blocks in four contests.
Dec 1, 2023
Modest production Thursday
Holmgren closed with 18 points (8-15 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, one assist and two steals over 28 minutes during Thursday's 133-110 win over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren had to deal with Anthony Davis on both ends of the court throughout the entire contest, so it's not surprising to see him having a down game -- at least by the standards he has set up following a blistering start to the campaign. Holmgren is feeling the rigors of the campaign and the fact that teams are now planning to contain him, as evidenced by his failure to reach the 20-point mark in four of his last five outings. Luckily for fantasy managers, Holmgren does other things as well, so his value is not entirely tied to his scoring prowess.
Nov 29, 2023
Struggles from field Tuesday
Holmgren closed with 16 points (6-20 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal over 34 minutes during Tuesday's 106-103 loss to Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren filled the stat sheet admirably once again and continues to show why he's already considered a top-notch two-way player despite the fact this is his first year in the league. The shooting woes are a growing pain with him, as these games are going to happen more often than not, but he keeps finding ways to produce even when his shot isn't falling. Holmgren is averaging 22.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.3 blocks per game over his last six contests.
Nov 26, 2023
Dominant in loss to Philly
Holmgren accumulated 33 points (13-21 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists and three blocks in 32 minutes during Saturday's 127-123 loss to Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
The Thunder came up short against one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, but Holmgren delivered an outstanding performance on both ends of the court, especially when factoring in that he was dueling against the reigning MVP, Joel Embiid. Holmgren is turning heads with his play as a rookie and has been even better than expected. Through his last 10 outings, Holmgren is averaging 18.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.3 blocks per contest.
Nov 20, 2023
Socres 16 points in rout
Holmgren ended with 16 points (6-6 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and two blocks over 20 minutes during Sunday's 134-91 victory over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren has had an excellent start to the season, and there are few centers oF Holmgren's size who can stretch the floor like he can. The 7-1 Gonzaga product is attempting an average of 3.6 shots beyond the arc and converting 46 percent of them, making him very difficult to defend at the perimeter. The only sour mark is his rebound production, which should be a little higher considering his imposing presence at the baseline.
Nov 19, 2023
Goes off for career-best 36 points
Holmgren tallied 36 points (14-22 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-7 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocked shots over 37 minutes in Saturday's 130-123 overtime victory versus Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren wowed with a big performance on both ends of the court, and his clutch turnaround three-pointer with the clock winding down in the fourth quarter was arguably the biggest shot of the game, as it sent the contest into overtime. The second-year forward logged his second straight double-double, though this one was much more spectacular than his 13-point, 10-board performance against the Warriors on Thursday. Holmgren's 36 points Saturday were a season high and marked the best scoring effort of his young career.
Nov 17, 2023
Double-double against Warriors
Holmgren amassed 13 points (4-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 27 minutes during Thursday's 128-109 victory over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
It was another solid performance for the second overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, and Holmgren has four double-doubles through his first 12 pro games. The 21-year-old has scored double digits in 11 of them while recording multiple blocks seven times, and Thursday's contest was also the first time this season he hadn't supplied at least one steal or three-pointer. Holmgren was typically going off the board in the fourth or fifth round in 12-team leagues this fall, but his production so far has out-stripped even that level of optimism for his value.
Nov 13, 2023
Solid production in win
Holmgren registered 18 points (5-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, four assists and two blocks over 33 minutes during Sunday's 111-99 win over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren hasn't exploded for a monster game yet, but the rookie has been incredibly consistent. Across 10 appearances, he's averaging 16.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.3 blocks and 0.9 steals in 30.1 minutes per game. Holmgren's 55/50/90 shooting splits are eye-popping for his age (21) and size (7-foot-1), and he's been the perfect floor spacer for guys like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams.
Nov 11, 2023
Tepid outing in loss
Holmgren logged 12 points (5-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds, an assist, a steal and a blocked shot across 29 minutes during Friday's 105-98 loss to the Kings.
ANALYSIS
There's no denying Holmgren's upside, but he was picked apart by Domantas Sabonis Friday night, exposing weaknesses that the youngster needs to work on. His Achilles heel is a lack of aggressiveness at times, as the 7-1 Gonzaga product can often just stand flat-footed in the paint and have errant shots fall in his lap. Holmgren is at his best when he stretches the floor with his accurate mid-range shot, which leaves lanes open for him to dominate the interior.
Nov 9, 2023
Continues to swat shots
Holmgren ended Wednesday's 128-120 victory over the Cavaliers with 15 points (7-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal across 29 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren recorded three blocks for the second straight game and is averaging 2.5 on the season. His 57.5/55.6/90.0 shooting splits have also been incredibly impressive for a rookie. If not for Victor Wembanyama, Holmgren would be an early heavy favorite for Rookie of the Year.
Nov 7, 2023
Records third double-double
Holmgren provided 16 points (4-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 7-7 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one steal across 34 minutes during Monday's 126-117 victory over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren is proving worthy of his 2022 first-round selection after missing his rookie season to injury. The Thunder struggled to find an answer at center last season, and Holmgren now provides the kind of interior stability that the team needs to get to the next level.
Nov 4, 2023
Sets career high
Holmgren finished Friday's 141-139 loss to Golden State with 24 points (7-9 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 8-8 FT), eight rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal across 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren's 24 points are his new career high, as his perfect shooting from the line helped him boost his scoring total. Holmgren has played incredibly for a rookie, averaging 17.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.3 blocks and 1.0 steals in 29.2 minutes across his first six outings. The rookie big man is also shooting a blistering 62.5 percent from the field and 56.5 percent from three.
Nov 1, 2023
Registers second double-double
Holmgren finished Wednesday's 110-106 loss to the Pelicans with 19 points (8-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal over 37 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren helped the Thunder get out to a 19-point lead by chipping in seven points in the first frame. He was the second-leading scorer on the team and has shot better than 50 percent from the field in all five games this season. The rookie center will look to continue his efficient start to the year Friday against the Warriors.
Oct 29, 2023
Top scorer in blowout loss
Holmgren registered 19 points (7-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and four rebounds over 26 minutes during Sunday's 128-95 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren led all Thunder players in scoring while tallying his highest point total of the young season in a losing effort against Denver. Holmgren has posted 10 or more points in all three games this year, averaging 13.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.5 assists over three contests.
Oct 27, 2023
Seven blocks, double-double in win
Holmgren registered 16 points (5-9 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists, seven blocks and a steal over 31 minutes in Friday's 108-105 win over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
It was a block party for Holmgren in Cleveland, who was the first Thunder player to record seven rejections or more in a regular season game since Moses Brown on May 16, 2021. This was also the first career double-double for Holmgren, who the Thunder took with the second overall pick of the 2022 NBA Draft. The Thunder will host the defending champion Nuggets in their home opener Sunday, which will present Holmgren his biggest challenge yet against two-time MVP Nikola Jokic.
Oct 26, 2023
Modest production in win
Holmgren accumulated 11 points (4-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-3 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal in 25 minutes during Wednesday's 124-104 win over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren had a welcome-to-the-league moment when Andre Drummond's crossover sent him to the ground, but it was a smooth night otherwise. Most of Holmgren's shot attempts were flashy, so it'll be interesting to see how his offense scales in coming weeks.
Oct 21, 2023
Locked down for 2024-25 season
Oklahoma City exercised Holmgren's third-year contract option Saturday, Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren has yet to play a single minute in the NBA regular season following a foot injury that forced him to miss all of last year, but the team has evidently liked what they've seen from the young talent and have elected to take care of his contract for the 2024-25 season. Holmgren is set to earn $10.2 million during the 2024-25 campaign.
Oct 20, 2023
Logs 14 minutes Thursday
Holmgren delivered 10 points (4-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, an assist and three blocks across 14 minutes in Thursday's 118-116 preseason loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren wasn't as involved on offense as in other games, though the Thunder didn't want to risk him too much in the final preseason contest. Holmgren will open the season as the team's starting center and is already one of the favorites to compete for the Rookie of the Year award. He scored at least 15 points in each of the three preseason games in which he logged at least 15 minutes.
Oct 18, 2023
Efficient from field Tuesday
Holmgren had 18 points (7-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-5 FT), three rebounds, three assists and a block across 26 minutes in Tuesday's 124-101 preseason win over the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren missed just one shot from the field and left his mark in other categories as well, and the rookie continues to show he's more than ready to handle the rigors of a full NBA season. Health will always be a concern given his frame, but based on what he has shown during both the preseason and the Summer League, he should be ready to make an impact as soon as he steps on the court in a regular season contest.
Oct 16, 2023
Will play Tuesday
Holmgren will play in Tuesday's preseason game against the Bucks, Brandon Rahbar of the Daily Thunder reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was rested during Sunday's preseason contest along with several other key players. Holmgren's impressive play in the preseason has seen his ADP rise in recent fantasy drafts.
Oct 15, 2023
Won't play Sunday
Holmgren (rest) is out for Sunday's preseason contest against Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren is joined by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Willams and Josh Giddey as young co-stars resting Sunday. Holmgren is a candidate to suit up in Tuesday's preseason contest versus the Bucks.
Oct 13, 2023
Struggles from field Thursday
Holmgren posted 16 points (4-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-7 FT), four rebounds, a steal and three blocks across 21 minutes in Thursday's 128-125 preseason loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was excellent as a rim protector and displayed elite instincts on defense, but he struggled from the field and was poor as a rebounder, especially considering his size. Holmgren will open the season as the Thunder's starting center, and he's making the most of his time out there after missing the 2022-23 season with a severe foot injury.
Oct 10, 2023
Wins duel with Wemby
Holmgren racked up 21 points (7-10 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 5-7 FT), 9 rebounds, one assist and one block in just 16 minutes during Oklahoma City's 122-121 preseason victory over San Antonio on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren posted a 14-point first quarter fueled by good finishing and effective foul drawing off the dribble. Trading buckets with Victor Wembanyama, Holmgren profiles as real competition for the 2023-24 Rookie of the Year Award.
Oct 9, 2023
Starting preseason opener
Holmgren will start Monday's preseason opener against the Spurs, Rylan Stiles of FanSided.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren will start at center during his first non-Summer League NBA appearance. The 2022 No. 2 overall pick is slated to face off against the 2023 No. 1 overall pick, Victor Wembayma, but neither youngster is expected to play more than 25 minutes.
Oct 3, 2023
Uninhibited to start camp
Holmgren is fully recovered from his lisfranc injury and is practicing in full Tuesday, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren's healthy offseason continues with a promising start to training camp, as Almanza notes that Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault said Holmgren looked good Tuesday. Oklahoma City's preseason kicks off next Monday versus San Antonio.
Jul 20, 2023
To practice with Team USA
Holmgren is among a group of select young players who will join Team USA for training camp in Las Vegas in August, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren will join teammate Jalen Williams, as well as Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green and Keegan Murray in Las Vegas to help Team USA prepare for the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Getting the nod is an encouraging development for Holmgren, who is yet to appear in an NBA game after a foot injury cost him his entire rookie season. Holmgren returned to action at Summer League earlier in July and picked up where he left off as a relentless attacker on offense and an elite rim-protector on the defensive end. Across four Summer League appearances in Las Vegas and Salt Lake City, Holmgren posted 16.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 3.5 blocks per game while shooting 48.9 percent from the floor. He connected on just 1-of-11 attempts from beyond the arc, however.
Jul 12, 2023
Falls shy of double-double
Holmgren logged 25 points (9-15 FG, 0-2 3PT, 7-8 FT), nine rebounds, two assists a steal and five blocks across 30 minutes of Wednesday's 98-87 win over Indiana during Summer League.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren dominated in his fourth Summer League contest of 2023, finishing with a game-high 25 points while rejecting five shots. Considering the Thunder have already considered shutting down last year's No. 2 pick, Wednesday's outing could be enough for OKC to call it and preserve Holmgren's health for the upcoming campaign.
Jul 12, 2023
Suiting up Wednesday
Holmgren (not injury related) will play in Wednesday's Summer League game against the Pacers, Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman reports.
ANALYSIS
After showing out with 13.6 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks per game across three Summer League appearances, there were talks that Holmgren could be shut down for the remainder of the tournament. However, he'll suit up for at least one more contest, though it's unclear if he'll handle a full workload Wednesday.
Jul 11, 2023
Won't play Tuesday
Holmgren (not injury related) is out for Tuesday's Summer League game against the Rockets, Steve McGehee of News 9 Oklahoma City reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren hasn't suffered any injury, but he won't play Tuesday. It is unclear if he will be shut down for the remainder of the Summer League, but his next chance to suit up is Friday's matchup with the Wizards.
Jul 10, 2023
Summer League could be over
Thunder Summer League coach Kameron Woods said Monday that the organization hasn't decided if Holmgren will play again in the 2023 NBA Summer League, Theo Lawson of the Spokesman Review reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren hasn't suffered any injury but may be shut down after three Summer League appearances. The 2022 No. 2 pick has flashed his potential on both ends of the floor. However, Holmgren suffered a season-ending foot injury in last year's Summer League, so the Thunder could opt to rest him to ensure he's healthy going into the regular season. Oklahoma City's next game is Tuesday's matchup with Houston.
Jul 8, 2023
All-around performance in win
Holmgren recorded 16 points (5-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-8 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 30 minutes during Saturday's 91-80 Summer League win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren flashed his defensive prowess Saturday, although he did pick up four fouls. Holmgren also posted a game-high 10 rebounds.
Jul 8, 2023
Good to go against Dallas
Holmgren (undisclosed) is available for Saturday's Summer League game against the Mavericks, Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren missed Thursday's game due to an undisclosed reason, but he will suit up Saturday. The 2022 No. 2 has scored in double figures in both of his Summer League appearances.
Jul 6, 2023
Won't play Thursday
Holmgren has been ruled out for Thursday's Summer League matchup against the 76ers for an undisclosed reason, Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren posted a double-double during Wednesday's Summer League loss to the Grizzlies, but he'll be inactive a day later. It's unclear whether he's dealing with an injury, but his next opportunity to suit up will be Saturday against the Mavericks.
Jul 5, 2023
Double-doubles, six turnovers
Holmgren corralled 10 points (3-8 FG, 0-4 3PT, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist, two steals and three blocks across 31 minutes of Wednesday's 94-86 Summer League loss to Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren proved to be a defensive force, rejecting three shots and snagging a pair of steals while pulling down 10 defensive rebounds. However, he was shaky on the offensive end, failing to connect on any of his attempts from beyond the arc while coughing up a game-high six turnovers. After missing the entirety of the 2022-23 season with a Lisfranc injury, Holmgren is averaging 12.5 points, 10 rebounds and 3.5 blocks on 30 minutes per game through two Summer League contests.
Jul 3, 2023
Succeeds in shaking off rust
Holmgren tallied 15 points (6-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-6 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and four blocks in 29 minutes during Monday's Summer League game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren looked sluggish at times during the first quarter as it took him time to find his legs, but he quickly snapped out of it and looked strong at both ends of the court in the second half. He led his team with four swatted shots and finished third on the Thunder in scoring despite his slow start. It was also reassuring to see Holmgren log nearly 30 minutes in his first game action in nearly a year.
Jul 3, 2023
Starting in Summer League
Holmgren (foot) is in the starting lineup for Monday's Summer League game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
This is exciting news for the organization after Holmgren went down with a Lisfranc injury last August that kept him out for the entire 2022 campaign. The team will undoubtedly keep a close eye on the forward's minutes in his first Summer League action of 2023, but this is a huge step for the forward as he gears up for the regular season.
Jun 27, 2023
Could return for summer league
Thunder general manager Sam Presti said Saturday that he's hopeful Holmgren (foot) will be available to play in the Salt Lake City and Las Vegas Summer Leagues in July, Cody Taylor of USA Today reports. "It is our hope that he'll be out there, our expectation. Chet is doing great. He has had a great offseason," Presti said. "He has done a great job. He has followed the plan and looks really good. We're excited for him but I don't think anybody could be more excited than he is."
ANALYSIS
The No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft ended up redshirting during his first professional season after he underwent surgery in August to address a Lisfranc injury, and then had a follow-up procedure in December to remove hardware from his right foot. Before being diagnosed with the foot injury and getting surgery, Holmgren was a standout performer for the Thunder last summer, averaging 14.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.8 blocks and 1.6 steals in five appearances. The Thunder will open their summer slate July 3 in Salt Lake City and will play at least eight games between the two cities, but expect Holmgren to rest for some of those contests even if he gets full clearance for action next week.
Dec 6, 2022
Undergoes secondary surgery
Holmgren (foot) underwent a successful secondary procedure Tuesday to remove hardware from his initial Lisfranc surgery in August, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren was ruled out for the entire campaign after being diagnosed with a Lisfranc injury at the end of August. It sounds like Tuesday's procedure was merely a clean-up job, and the 2022 No. 2 overall pick is still on track to be ready for the 2023-24 campaign.
Aug 30, 2022
Surgery in rearview
Holmgren (foot) underwent surgery Tuesday to address a Linsfranc injury suffered in a pro-am event, Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren will miss the entire 2022-23 season because of the ruptured tendon, delaying his NBA debut to 2023-24. Foot issues can become problematic for big men, but Holmgren's youth and relatively slender frame (7-foot-1, 195 pounds) could work in his favor in terms of his recovery. His absence could open playing time for other bigs such as Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Aleksej Pokusevski and Darius Bazley.
Aug 25, 2022
Out for season with Lisfranc injury
The Thunder announced Thursday that Holmgren has been diagnosed with a Lisfranc injury to his right foot and will miss the entire 2022-23 season, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren suffered the injury while competing in a pro-am game in Seattle last weekend and will now likely require surgery, pushing his NBA debut back to the 2023-24 season. Foot injuries are particularly problematic for big men compared to guard and wing players, but the Thunder are hopeful that Holmgren's youth and slighter build will allow him to navigate the lengthy rehab process without any major setbacks to his long-term outlook. Despite missing his entire first season in the NBA, the 7-foot-1, 195-pound Holmgren still looks to be a strong asset in dynasty leagues, but managers in redraft leagues can now officially take him off their boards for 2022-23. Holmgren's absence for the upcoming season should open up more playing time in the frontcourt for the Thunder's other young bigs, namely Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Aleksej Pokusevski and Darius Bazley.
Aug 24, 2022
Significant injury feared
The Thunder fear that Holmgren suffered significant ligament damage in his right foot, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren suffered the injury while trying to stop LeBron James on a fast break during a Pro-Am game Saturday. The rookie didn't return to the contest before it was eventually called off due to poor court conditions. Per Charania, exams have shown Holmgren has potential torn ligaments, but a return timetable is still being determined based on further evaluations.
Aug 20, 2022
Suffers injury in Pro-Am game
Holmgren suffered an ankle injury during a Pro-Am game Saturday, according to Brandon Rahbar of DailyThunder.com.
ANALYSIS
Holmgren suffered the injury when trying to stop LeBron James on a fastbreak, as he rolled his ankle on the play and came out of the contest. There's no official update regarding how bad the injury was, though Holmgren was later spotted trying to walk it off. He didn't return to the game before it was called off due to poor court conditions.
Jul 15, 2022
Sitting out Friday
Holmgren will not take the floor during Friday's Summer League game versus the Warriors, Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman reports.
ANALYSIS
There's no mention of an injury, so this is likely just a rest day for Holmgren. The No. 2 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft has gotten off to a solid start over his five Summer League appearances, tallying 14 points, 8.4 rebounds, two assists, 2.8 blocks and a steal per game. He will have one more chance to play to close out Summer League either Saturday or Sunday.
Jul 12, 2022
Puts up 16 and 10 in Vegas
Holmgren finished Monday night's Las Vegas Summer League game against the Magic with 16 points (7-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt), 10 points, two assists and two blocks in 27 minutes.
ANALYSIS
While the Magic opting to rest Paolo Banchero robbed us of a No. 1 vs. No. 2 pick showdown, Holmgren once again took center stage and showed why he's one of the most unique prospects in recent memory. The big man continues to show flashes of two-way brilliance. He's equally comfortable pulling up from three off the dribble as he is swatting shots at the rim. Despite Holmgren's dominance in Summer League, there's some healthy skepticism as to how it will translate to actual NBA competition. We'll have to wait and see on that front, but Holmgren has already shown more than enough to build sufficient hype for his 2022-23 fantasy potential.
