Expect Holmgren to continue to operate as the Thunder's second-best offensive weapon behind Gilgeous-Alexander.

The Thunder have struggled a bit offensively, but when Holmgrean and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are dialed in at he same time, an excellent team result usually follows. Holmgren has registered double-digit rebounds four times this season, and his five-rebound result Friday was a bit of an outlier. Despite Friday's low number, Holmgren is a nightly double-double threat who will also add his share of blocked shots.

Holmgren ended Saturday's 105-92 win over the Clippers with 10 points (3-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 14 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 29 minutes.

Holmgren didn't have his best shooting effort Saturday, as he struggled with the physicality of Ivica Zubac near the rim. However, he found other ways to contribute en route to reaching his third double-double of the season. Despite his noticeable two-way impact, Holmgren's shooting numbers have been trending in the wrong direction -- he's failed to surpass the 10-point mark in his last two outings while shooting a 33.3 percent from the field in that span after delivering blistering numbers in his first four contests.

Since Friday's contest was out of hand by the beginning of the third quarter, Holmgren recorded season-lows in minutes, points and rebounds. However, the second-year center still managed to swat five shots. Holmgren is averaging 19.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.8 blocks, 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 28.8 minutes across his five appearances this season.

Holmgren supplied 25 points (8-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-8 FT), nine rebounds, four assists, six blocks and one steal over 33 minutes during Sunday's 128-104 victory over the Hawks.

Holmgren didn't repeat Saturday's output in the win against the Bulls when he grabbed 16 boards, but he did an excellent job of filling out the stat sheet in this one. The six blocks were just two shy of his career-best mark, set as a rookie in 2023-24, and his numbers have been eye-popping to begin the campaign. He's scored 20-plus points in each of his first three appearances this season, while recording multiple blocks each time and grabbing double-digit rebounds twice.

Holmgren closed Thursday's 102-87 win over the Nuggets with 25 points (11-18 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 14 rebounds, five assists, four blocks and two steals in 36 minutes.

Holmgren is coming off an excellent rookie season, and he could have run away with the Rookie of the Year award if Victor Wembanyama wasn't in the mix. The Gonzaga product should see a substantial increase in minutes this season due to the lack of competition on the roster. Isaiah Hartenstein (hand) will be out at least another month, giving Holmgren max minutes at the five.

Holmgren's fourth-year team option was exercised by Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Holmgren displayed two-way excellence last season, posting a 63.2 true-shooting percentage while generating 2.9 steals plus blocks per game in his first season of NBA action. He's now locked up with the Thunder through the 2025-26 season.

The second-year big man is set to open the season in a starting role, though his position and partner in the frontcourt are still undetermined. Holmgren will aim to improve in his sophomore year after averaging 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.3 blocks per game as a rookie across 82 regular-season appearances in 2023-24.

The 22-year-old is in for a huge second season alongside Isaiah Hartenstein in the frontcourt, and Holmgren's exceptional two-way abilities will likely make him a mainstay in fantasy lineups.

Holmgren ended Monday's 100-96 win over Dallas in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 18 points (6-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), nine rebounds, four blocks and one steal over 40 minutes.

Holmgren stepped his game up on a night where Jalen Williams struggled with his shot, and the star rookie made his presence felt on both ends of the court, showing efficiency in his touch near the rim and being his usual disruptive self on the defensive end. Holmgren is averaging 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.3 blocks per game in the series against Dallas. Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday in OKC.

The Mavericks have been able to stay fresh in the paint with Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively platooning at the five, and Jaylin Williams hasn't offered the same kind of secondary support. Holmgren has also failed to keep Luka Doncic off the glass, and he'll need to improve in several areas to keep the Thunder in the series.

However, the rookie didn't look outmatched in the first playoff appearance of his career and looked impressive, particularly on the defensive end with a few key blocks down the stretch, including one in the dying stages of the fourth quarter where the Pelicans were creeping on a comeback. Holmgren is not going to lead the Thunder in scoring since he plays alongside Jalen Williams and Shai GIlgeous-Alexander, but he's still an excellent two-way threat every time he steps on the court.

Holmgren closed with 13 points (6-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds and one block in 12 minutes during Sunday's 135-86 victory over the Mavericks.

Holmgren's result was astounding considering his 12 minutes of usage in the blowout win. The Thunder's standout center sat early with the rest of the starters, but he had one of the best stat lines on the roster while logging the second-lowest minute total.

Holmgren turned in a strong performance Friday, helping the Thunder to a clutch victory. They now sit atop the Western Conference and a win over Dallas on Sunday would secure them a first-place finish. Holmgren has been a revelation this season, taking the Thunder's ceiling to another level. From a fantasy perspective, there is a chance managers are going to have to part with a second-round pick to secure his services next year.

Holmgren will enter that matchup with averages of 13.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.6 blocks per game over his last 10 contests, though at least he's scored in double digits in five of his last six.

Holmgren has been struggling in recent days and has been remarkably inconsistent, scoring 11 or fewer points in four of his last seven outings, including three games in which he was held to single-digit points. Holmgren is also shooting a woeful 17.9 percent from three-point range in that span. He remains a player capable of impacting the game on both ends of the court, but it's clear he's hit some kind of rookie wall, and he'll have to shake off his struggles either in the final week of the regular season or in the playoffs.

His numbers have decreased a bit compared to the opening weeks of the season as teams have started to plan accordingly to limit his impact on offense. Still, Holmgren remains a strong fantasy asset due to his ability to fill the stat sheet on any given night. He's averaging 15.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 blocks per game since the beginning of March.

He's been showing signs of fatigue toward the end of his first NBA season, scoring in single digits three times in the last eight games, and over that stretch Holmgren has averaged 15.4 points, 8.6 boards, 1.6 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.4 threes.

It was a huge all-around effort for Holmgren, who tied his season high in boards while topped 30 points for the first time since Jan. 8, thanks in part to a career-best performance from the free-throw line. Although his level of production has decreased slightly over the past month, he should be a lock to finish inside the top 40 in what has been an impressive rookie campaign.

Despite coming into the game under an injury cloud, Holmgren turned in an improved performance, helping the Thunder to a narrow victory. After a red-hot start to his rookie campaign, things have slowed over the past month. During that time, he has been outside the top 50 in standard leagues, averaging 14.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 1.4 three-pointers.

Holmgren was listed as questionable due to a left ankle sprain and wasn't present during the team's morning shootaround Wednesday, but he's been cleared to suit up and will continue his perfect attendance during the 2023-24 campaign. Holmgren was extremely efficient from the field despite his woes from beyond the arc, but he did more than just scoring, and he also made his presence felt on the defensive end with his 16th outing with three or more blocks. Holmgren is averaging 19.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.0 blocks per game across five January contests.

It's the first time Holmgren has topped 30 points since Nov. 25, when he lit up the Sixers for 33. The 2022 second overall pick has scored in double digits in 15 straight games though while flashing his diverse skill set, averaging 19.0 points, 6.7 boards, 2.8 assists, 2.8 blocks and 1.9 threes over that stretch, shooting 59.1 percent from the floor and 45.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Holmgren was impressive on both ends of the court Saturday, and even though he had to deal with Nikola Jokic the entire game, he posted an efficient performance and also left his mark defensively. Holmgren has enjoyed an extremely successful rookie campaign, and while he might sit behind Victor Wembanyama in the race for the Rookie of the Year, there's no question he has performed better than advertised so far in 2023-24. He's been on a scoring tear as well after putting up 20 or more points in four of his last five appearances.

Holmgren shot under 50 percent for the first time in his past seven games, but he still managed to contribute a healthy 19 points, third-most on the Thunder. The standout rookie also paced the team in rebounds en route to his 10th double-double of the season. To round out a strong overall line, Holmgren tallied three more blocks. He's swatted multiple shots in 19 of his 27 contests on the campaign and ranks third in the league with 2.7 blocks per game.

Undoubtedly, the seven blocks stand out for Holmgren, but fantasy managers should begin to get used to these performances from him. Aside from racking up 15 blocks over his last two games, the rookie big man has swatted multiple shots in seven outings in a row, and in 12 of his last 14 appearances. And this is without mentioning his steady contributions in points and rebounds, figures that make him a valuable, above-average contributor across all formats, and an absolute gem for dynasty leagues.

Holmgren finished with 17 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and nine blocks across 32 minutes during Saturday's 118-117 victory over the Nuggets.

Even though Shai GIlgeous-Alexander deserves most of the praise after draining the game-winning shot in the final second Saturday, Holmgren certainly contributed to the win and finished just one block shy of posting a triple-double. His two-way impact has been enormous, and he has already settled as the Thunder's second-best scoring option behind Gilgeous-Alexander. He's averaging 16.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.1 assists per game over his last 10 contests.

A legit double-double threat every time he steps on the court, Holmgren is averaging 18.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.7 blocks per game over his last 10 outings.

Despite his inconsistent scoring of late, Holmgren has been able to maintain second-round value, thanks primarily to his elite shot-blocking numbers. For the season, he is averaging 2.5 blocks to go with 17.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 1.6 three-pointers. His time is now and it's safe to assume he is going to be a fantasy beast for many years to come.

Holmgren is feeling the rigors of the campaign and the fact that teams are now planning to contain him, as evidenced by his failure to reach the 20-point mark in four of his last five outings. Luckily for fantasy managers, Holmgren does other things as well, so his value is not entirely tied to his scoring prowess.

The shooting woes are a growing pain with him, as these games are going to happen more often than not, but he keeps finding ways to produce even when his shot isn't falling. The Thunder came up short against one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, but Holmgren delivered an outstanding performance on both ends of the court, especially when factoring in that he was dueling against the reigning MVP, Joel Embiid. Holmgren is turning heads with his play as a rookie and has been even better than expected. Through his last 10 outings, Holmgren is averaging 18.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.3 blocks per contest.

Holmgren ended with 16 points (6-6 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and two blocks over 20 minutes during Sunday's 134-91 victory over the Trail Blazers.

Holmgren has had an excellent start to the season, and there are few centers oF Holmgren's size who can stretch the floor like he can. The 7-1 Gonzaga product is attempting an average of 3.6 shots beyond the arc and converting 46 percent of them, making him very difficult to defend at the perimeter. The only sour mark is his rebound production, which should be a little higher considering his imposing presence at the baseline.

Holmgren tallied 36 points (14-22 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-7 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocked shots over 37 minutes in Saturday's 130-123 overtime victory versus Golden State.

Holmgren wowed with a big performance on both ends of the court, and his clutch turnaround three-pointer with the clock winding down in the fourth quarter was arguably the biggest shot of the game, as it sent the contest into overtime. The second-year forward logged his second straight double-double, though this one was much more spectacular than his 13-point, 10-board performance against the Warriors on Thursday. Holmgren's 36 points Saturday were a season high and marked the best scoring effort of his young career.

Holmgren amassed 13 points (4-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 27 minutes during Thursday's 128-109 victory over the Warriors.

It was another solid performance for the second overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, and Holmgren has four double-doubles through his first 12 pro games. The 21-year-old has scored double digits in 11 of them while recording multiple blocks seven times, and Thursday's contest was also the first time this season he hadn't supplied at least one steal or three-pointer. Holmgren was typically going off the board in the fourth or fifth round in 12-team leagues this fall, but his production so far has out-stripped even that level of optimism for his value.

Holmgren logged 12 points (5-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds, an assist, a steal and a blocked shot across 29 minutes during Friday's 105-98 loss to the Kings.

There's no denying Holmgren's upside, but he was picked apart by Domantas Sabonis Friday night, exposing weaknesses that the youngster needs to work on. His Achilles heel is a lack of aggressiveness at times, as the 7-1 Gonzaga product can often just stand flat-footed in the paint and have errant shots fall in his lap. Holmgren is at his best when he stretches the floor with his accurate mid-range shot, which leaves lanes open for him to dominate the interior.

Holmgren ended Wednesday's 128-120 victory over the Cavaliers with 15 points (7-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal across 29 minutes.

Holmgren recorded three blocks for the second straight game and is averaging 2.5 on the season. His 57.5/55.6/90.0 shooting splits have also been incredibly impressive for a rookie. If not for Victor Wembanyama, Holmgren would be an early heavy favorite for Rookie of the Year.

The big man continues to show flashes of two-way brilliance. He's equally comfortable pulling up from three off the dribble as he is swatting shots at the rim. Despite Holmgren's dominance in Summer League, there's some healthy skepticism as to how it will translate to actual NBA competition. We'll have to wait and see on that front, but Holmgren has already shown more than enough to build sufficient hype for his 2022-23 fantasy potential.
