Desmond Bane Injury News & Updates
Keep up with the latest injuries from the Heat vs Magic game today with our National Basketball Association injury report.Dec 8, 2025
Hits for 16 in Sunday's loss
Bane closed Sunday's 106-100 loss to the Knicks with 16 points (7-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt), six rebounds, four assists and one steal across 34 minutes.
ANALYSIS
It was another fairly quiet offensive performance from Bane, who has just 35 points total in his last three games -- less than the 37 he dropped in back-to-back contests on the Pistons and Bulls on Nov. 28 and Dec. 1. The Magic saw Jalen Suggs (leg) and Franz Wagner (lower leg) leave Sunday's game early however, and if either or both of those injuries prove to be serious, Bane's usage could skyrocket. He's scored in double digits in 13 of the last 14 games, averaging 21.1 points, 4.7 assists, 4.5 boards, 1.9 threes and 0.9 steals over that stretch.
Dec 1, 2025
Drops in 37 points again in win
Bane ended with 37 points (12-17 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 10-10 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal in 34 minutes during Monday's 125-120 victory over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Bane has been shooting the lights out over the past two games, going 25-for-42 from the field while amassing 74 total points. The Magic have now won three in a row, and six of their past seven games, and Bane is a big reason why they've managed to stay afloat despite not having Paolo Banchero (groin). Orlando will seek their fourth straight victory Wednesday against the Spurs.
Nov 28, 2025
Drops 37 points
Bane generated 37 points (13-25 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 11-12 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal across 39 minutes of Friday's 112-109 win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Bane has had an underwhelming start to his first season in Orlando, with his points, rebounds, assists and steal averages all decreasing from a season ago. Including Friday's game, Bane is shooting 31.6 percent from beyond the arc -- nearly six percent lower than his previous worst. He flashed his scoring capabilities against Detroit, eclipsing the 30-point mark for the first time in 2025-26. Bane's eight rebounds were also a season high.
Nov 26, 2025
Drops 15 in blowout win
Bane notched 15 points (6-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, six assists and two steals over 29 minutes during Tuesday's 144-103 win over Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
Bane, along with the other starters, was pulled early due to the blowout nature of the game, but not before he dropped 15 points and dished out six assists. With star Paolo Banchero (groin) still sidelinde, Bane will be asked to shoulder a lot of the offensive production until the former returns.
Nov 22, 2025
Drops 27 points in win
Bane notched 27 points (8-16 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 8-8 FT), five assists, three rebounds and one steal over 32 minutes during Saturday's 133-121 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Following a lackluster five-game stretch in which he averaged just 10.8 points per contest, Bane recorded his seventh consecutive game scoring in double figures. He finished as Orlando's second-leading scorer and was one of two Magic players to dish out at least five assists. While he hasn't been extremely efficient of late, the 27-year-old swingman has scored at least 23 points in three of his last four outings.
Nov 18, 2025
Season-high five steals Tuesday
Bane registered 23 points (7-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 7-7 FT), six rebounds, five assists and five steals over 39 minutes during the Magic's 121-113 win over the Warriors on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Bane entered Tuesday's contest having just one multi-steal game to his name to open the 2025-26 regular season, but he showed off his defensive chops with five steals, tying a career high he set in April of 2022 as a member of the Grizzlies. He also led the Magic with 23 points, and he has scored at least 22 points in five of his last seven outings. Over that span, Bane has averaged 20.4 points, 5.6 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals over 37.4 minutes per game.
Nov 14, 2025
Logs 19 points in win
Bane accumulated 19 points (7-18 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and two assists across 40 minutes during Friday's 105-98 victory over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Bane found success from beyond the arc Friday, drilling three triples for a second straight game. Despite a strong performance against Brooklyn, he entered the day hitting at an unimpressive 30.2 percent from downtown through 12 appearances this season, which is down substantially from the 39.2 percent he hit at through 69 games a year ago with Memphis. The good news is that Bane will continue to be asked to put up shots for the Magic as the season rolls on, giving him plenty of opportunities to get back on track.
Nov 11, 2025
Hits game winner and goes for 22
Bane totaled 22 points (9-19 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and seven assists over 33 minutes during Monday's 115-112 win over Portland.
ANALYSIS
Bane had a relatively modest night from beyond the arc, missing all five of his three-point attempts until the very last possession, where his last second heave went in at the buzzer, ultimately winning the game for Orlando. Bane also tied his early season-high in assists with seven, and will look to build on his momentum Wednesday against the Knicks.
Nov 4, 2025
Tossed Tuesday
Bane was ejected in the third quarter of Tuesday's game against the Hawks after being assessed both a Flagrant 1 foul and a technical foul, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane was tossed with 5:24 remaining in the third and will finish the game with nine points (2-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steal across 23 minutes. With the 27-year-old swingman unavailable, Anthony Black and Jase Richardson are candidates for increased minutes the rest of the way.
Nov 2, 2025
Limited scoring impact in big win
Bane recorded five points (2-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt), five assists and two steals in 20 minutes during Saturday's 125-94 victory over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Bane finished in single digits for the second straight game Saturday, though it didn't impact the Magic's dominant win. Acquired from the Grizzlies this offseason to bolster perimeter scoring, the sharpshooting guard has struggled to find his rhythm, connecting on just 25.8 percent of his attempts from deep. Through seven games, the 27-year-old is averaging 14.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists -- all notable declines from his 2024-25 production.
Oct 27, 2025
Fouls out in loss to 76ers
Bane fouled out of Monday's 136-124 loss to the 76ers, finishing with 24 points (10-17 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and one assist over 34 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane fouled out for the first time in two years Monday, and he definitely picked up some frustration fouls along the way, as he was perturbed by Tyrese Maxey getting the better of him all game long. He also struggled from distance, which has been a team-wide trend for Orlando over the past two, with the Magic converting just 22.4 percent of their three-point looks. They'll simply need to be better Wednesday against the Pistons if they hope to snap the losing streak.
Oct 25, 2025
Dishes five assists in loss
Bane posted 15 points (5-14 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds and five assists across 33 minutes in Friday's 111-107 loss to Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Bane did not shoot well from beyond the arc Friday, but was able to provide value in the rebounds and assists categories. With Jalen Suggs (knee) doubtful to play in the second leg of a back-to-back, Bane may be tasked with more playmaking responsibilities as the Magic take on the Bulls on Saturday.
Oct 22, 2025
Nets 23 points with two swats
Bane registered 23 points (7-18 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and four turnovers in 33 minutes during Wednesday's 125-121 season-opening win over Miami.
ANALYSIS
The Magic struggled mightily from beyond the arc last season, which is why they brought in Bane, who is a career 41-percent, 3-point sniper. He looked comfortable working in Orlando's offense Wednesday night, did a nice job spreading the floor, and really took over late when it mattered most to help deliver the win for the Magic. He's all set up for a big year with the Magic.
Oct 16, 2025
Good to go Thursday
Bane (rest) will be available for Thursday's preseason game against the Pelicans, Cody Taylor of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Jamahl Mosley did not reveal his plans for Thursday's rotation, to be clear, but he doesn't anticipate anyone sitting out for rest purposes. Bane is still searching for his rhythm with his new team, as he's shooting 38.5 percent from the field through two exhibitions.
Oct 12, 2025
Won't play Sunday
Bane (rest) will not play in Sunday's preseason game against the Heat, Cody Taylor of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane is getting a maintenance day along with Paolo Banchero. He's made two appearances in the preseason so far with averages of 8.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 17.4 minute per contest.
Oct 5, 2025
Fills box score in Orlando debut
Bane logged nine points (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and three assists over 13 minutes during the Magic's 126-118 preseason win over the Heat on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Bane made the most of his limited playing time Saturday and finished tied with Alex Morales for most dimes on the team. Bane spent the first five seasons of his NBA career with the Grizzlies but will don a Magic jersey for the 2025-26 campaign after being traded my Memphis to Orlando in mid-June. Bane finished the 2024-25 regular season averaging 19.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.2 steals over 32 minutes per game.
Apr 13, 2025
Out Sunday
Bane (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Bane and most of Memphis' regulars have been downgraded from doubtful to out and won't suit up for the regular-season finale. There's been no indication that Bane is in danger of missing the Play-In Tournament.
Apr 12, 2025
Uncertain status for Sunday
Bane is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Mavericks due to left adductor soreness.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies have already locked up a spot in the Play-In Tournament, so there's no point in risking some of their regular rotation members. That includes Bane, who's often been the second- or third-best player on the roster. For what it's worth, though, the doubtful tag suggests Bane might not play, and if he ends up being ruled out, Cam Spencer, John Konchar and Vince Williams could see more time in the backcourt. Other players such as Scotty Pippen (back), Luke Kennard (knee) and Ja Morant (shoulder) are also carrying doubtful tags.
Apr 11, 2025
Scores 28 points vs. Minnesota
Bane closed Thursday's 141-125 loss to Minnesota with 28 points (11-18 FG, 6-10 3Pt), six rebounds, nine assists, one block and one steal in 39 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Ja Morant paced the Grizzlies in this high-scoring loss, but Bane also had an impressive performance and finished just one assist away from recording a double-double. Even though Morant remains the de facto top scoring and playmaking option for the Grizzlies, Bane has been putting up solid numbers whenever he experiences an uptick in his usage rate. Over his last seven games, Bane is averaging 23.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.0 steals across 33.9 minutes per game.
Apr 4, 2025
Abysmal shooting performance
Bane ended with 17 points (6-23 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Thursday's 110-108 win over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies escaped with a tight win over the Heat on Thursday, and while Bane certainly contributed to the win with a loaded stat line, the fact that he delivered a woeful shooting performance simply can't be overlooked. This was the first time Bane made single-digit field goals despite attempting 20-plus shots all season long. He should be able to bounce back sooner rather than later, though, as Bane is averaging a solid 19.9 points per game in 22 games since the All-Star break.
Apr 2, 2025
Scores 19 points in loss
Bane ended with 19 points (6-15 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals across 35 minutes during Tuesday's 134-125 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Bane filled the stat sheet admirably in this loss to the Warriors, and while Ja Morant grabbed most of the headlines for his 36-point output, Bane made his presence felt admirably on both ends of the court. Bane has filled several roles in the lineup throughout the season, at times operating as the leading scorer and others being a primary playmaker, but he always finds a way to stand out and deliver above-average fantasy lines. He's averaging 20.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.5 blocks per game since the All-Star break.
Mar 30, 2025
Leads Memphis in loss
Bane closed with 29 points (12-18 FG, 5-8 3Pt), four rebounds, six assists and two steals over 33 minutes during Saturday's 134-127 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Bane finished with a team-high 29 points and was one of three Grizzlies to score at least 20 points, albeit in a losing effort. The sharpshooter delivered a bounce-back performance following Thursday's loss to Oklahoma City, during which he tallied three points and shot 1-for-12 from the floor. Bane has scored at least 20 points in eight of his 14 appearances this month, averaging 21.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 2.6 three-pointers and 1.2 steals across 33.8 minutes per contest.
Mar 26, 2025
Scores team-high 21 points
Bane supplied 21 points (8-16 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal across 30 minutes during Tuesday's 140-103 win over Utah.
ANALYSIS
Bane did his damage over the first three quarters, leaving the game with 7:49 left in the midst of a relentless 14-0 run. Although the Jazz kept it close in the first half, Bane sat back and allowed Jay Huff and Santi Aldama lead the team to a sizable lead in the third quarter. Bane bounced back nicely after the Clippers limited him to 10 points last Friday. If Ja Morant's (hamstring) injury continues to be an issue, Bane's production will have explosive potential.
Mar 21, 2025
Upgraded to available
Bane (back) has been cleared to play in Friday's game against the Clippers, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane is dealing with a back issue, but that won't keep him off the floor Friday. The veteran guard is averaging 19.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game this season, shooting 48.6 percent from the floor and 39.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Mar 21, 2025
Late addition to report Friday
Bane is questionable for Friday's game against the Clippers due to lower back soreness, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The back soreness is a new concern for Bane, who was a late addition to the injury report for Friday's contest. If the sharpshooter is unable to face the Clippers, Jaylen Wells and Vince Williams will likely see an uptick in playing time. Bane has made 10 consecutive appearances for the Grizzlies, during which he has averaged 23.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 2.7 three-pointers and 1.2 steals across 34.5 minutes per game.
Mar 20, 2025
Leads team in disappointing loss
Bane had 20 points (7-16 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, four assists and two steals in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 115-99 loss to Portland.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies were without Ja Morant (hamstring), but his presence wouldn't have altered the outcome. Bane's numbers were below his usual averages, and he led a group that struggled to find any traction against the Trail Blazers. Bane and Jaren Jackson were the only starters to score in double-digits, and the team abandoned the first unit once the game got out of hand. Memphis will try to turn things around Friday against the Clippers.
Mar 18, 2025
Erupts for 44 points
Bane closed Monday's 132-122 loss to Sacramento with 44 points (15-25 FG, 7-7 3Pt, 7-7 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one steal in 41 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane scored a season-high 44 points in the loss, finishing five points shy of his career-high mark (49). He soaked up some additional usage with Ja Morant (hamstring) and Santi Aldama (calf) on the sidelines, and it's unclear if those two will be ready in time for Wednesday's game versus Portland. Bane is on pace to return third-round value in nine-category formats this season with 22.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals, 1.6 blocks and 1.9 three-pointers.
Mar 16, 2025
Comes close to triple-double
Bane accumulated 22 points (9-16 FG, 4-5 3Pt), 10 rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 30 minutes during Saturday's 125-91 win over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies were without Ja Morant (shoulder) in this game, but that didn't prevent them from securing a huge win, and Bane played a pivotal role in the victory. Luke Kennard started in place of Morant, meaning Bane operated as the primary playmaker, and that translated to him ending just two assists away from a triple-double. Bane has been playing at a high level of late and is averaging 21.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 6.0 assists and a combined 1.7 steals-plus-blocks in eight outings this month.
Mar 15, 2025
Struggles with shot Friday
Bane posted 12 points (5-16 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds and three assists across 26 minutes during Friday's 133-124 loss to the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Ja Morant led the way for the Grizzlies with an outstanding 44-point effort, but Bane, who has found a way to step up on a regular basis in recent weeks, was unable to follow suit. The veteran forward had a rough showing on offense, and at least from an efficiency perspective, this was one of his worst outings of the campaign. Bane is still averaging a solid line of 20.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game since the beginning of March, so he should find a way to bounce back sooner than later -- possibly against the Heat on Saturday in the second leg of this back-to-back set.
Mar 13, 2025
Misses out on double-double
Bane totaled 17 points (6-14 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, nine assists, one block and one steal over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 122-115 victory over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Bane recorded a team-high nine assists during Wednesday's win. Bane's efficient shooting from beyond the arc is a welcome sight, as he is converting just 29.3 percent of his 5.8 three-point attempts per contest across his last 10 outings.
Mar 10, 2025
Extends impressive stretch
Bane closed with 30 points (13-23 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 38 minutes during Sunday's 107-104 victory over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Bane was coming off a 27-point, 16-rebound effort in the win over the Mavericks on Friday, and he also notched a triple-double against the Hawks on Monday. Even though Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson (ankle) are the go-to options on offense for the Grizzlies, there's no doubt Bane is making the most of the expanded role he's having with Jackson sidelined. He's scored at least 24 points in five of his previous six contests.
Mar 8, 2025
Fills stat sheet in win
Bane chipped in 27 points (11-24 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 16 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and three steals over 38 minutes during Friday's 122-111 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Ja Morant led the way in scoring for the Grizzlies with a 31-point output, but Bane had the better fantasy line when looking at his all-around contributions. He ended with at least two tallies in each of the six major categories, including three-pointers made, and he made his presence on both ends of the court while also grabbing a season-high mark in rebounds. This was Bane's sixth double-double of the season, and that tendency to fill the stat sheet makes him a valuable asset across all formats. He's averaging 21.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.9 assists and a combined 2.1 steals-plus-blocks in eight outings since the All-Star break.
Mar 6, 2025
Scores 15 points
Bane accumulated 15 points (5-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 33 minutes during Wednesday's 120-103 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Bane was unable to build off his most recent performance, as he notched a 35-point, 10-rebound, 10-assist triple-double in a loss vs. Atlanta on March 3, but at least he reached the 15-point mark once again. Bane is averaging 20.7 points, 6.9 boards and 5.9 assists per game since the end of the All-Star break.
Mar 3, 2025
Records triple-double in return
Bane (hip) finished with 35 points (9-19 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 14-14 FT), 10 rebounds and 10 assists in 35 minutes during Monday's 132-130 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Monday marked the first triple-double of the season for Bane, who returned from a one-game absence and stepped up for the Grizzlies in the absence of star floor general Ja Morant (shoulder). Bane has seen an increase in usage and fantasy value during instances where Morant is out, with the former averaging 24.2 points, 8.0 assists, 6.6 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 2.5 three-pointers over his last 11 appearances when the latter has been unavailable. Look for Bane to handle a similar role if Morant can't play in Wednesday's showdown with the Thunder, especially if Jaren Jackson's ankle injury costs him additional time as well.
Mar 2, 2025
Appears past hip injury
Bane (hip) is not listed on the Grizzlies' injury report ahead of Monday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Bane wasn't able to play during Saturday's loss to the Spurs due to left hip soreness. The injury doesn't appear severe enough for him to necessitate a second absence, and Bane should be available to play Monday barring any setbacks. He finished the month of February having averaged 20.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.0 steals over 35.3 minutes per game.
Mar 1, 2025
Out Saturday
Bane (hip) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Bane and Ja Morant (shoulder) have both been downgraded to out for the second half of this back-to-back set, but Luke Kennard (back) will be available. Bane should return to action Monday versus Atlanta, while Kennard, Jaylen Wells and Scotty Pippen handle increased roles Saturday.
Mar 1, 2025
Iffy against San Antonio
Bane is listed as questionable for Saturday's game versus the Spurs due to left hip soreness.
ANALYSIS
Bane is in danger of missing his first game since Feb. 5 due to left hip soreness. With Luke Kennard (back) and Vince Williams (knee) also deemed questionable, Memphis could be left shorthanded in their backcourt.
Mar 1, 2025
Double-doubles in defeat
Bane chipped in 24 points (9-17 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 12 rebounds, four assists and one steal across 35 minutes during Friday's 114-113 loss to New York.
ANALYSIS
Bane stuffed the stat sheet in the loss, posting his seventh double-double through 48 regular-season appearances. However, the sharpshooter struggled from beyond the arc, and over his last five outings, he has shot only 25.8 percent from downtown. The 26-year-old guard has averaged 19.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.6 three-pointers and 1.2 steals across 36.4 minutes per contest in that five-game span.
Feb 28, 2025
Suiting up vs. New York
Bane (groin) is available for Friday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Bane was initially deemed questionable due to left groin soreness, but the issue won't prevent him from playing. Bane is averaging 19.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.0 steals across 35.4 minutes per game since the beginning of February.
Feb 27, 2025
Added to injury report
Bane (groin) is questionable for Friday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Left groin soreness is a new issue for Bane, who hasn't sat out since the Feb. 5 win over the Raptors. The Grizzlies could have the star guard go through pregame warmups Friday before deciding on his status. If Bane cannot suit up against New York, Luke Kennard stands out as the most likely candidate to step into Memphis' starting lineup.
Feb 26, 2025
Hands out nine assists
Bane supplied 25 points (8-15 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds, nine assists and two steals across 43 minutes during Tuesday's 151-148 overtime victory over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
This was Bane's fourth game of the campaign with at least nine dimes. He was coming off a dud with seven points against Cleveland on Sunday, but's been solid in eight February games for the most part. In that span, he put up averages of 19.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.5 three-pointers.
Feb 23, 2025
Poor shooting night Sunday
Bane provided seven points (2-13 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds, eight assists, one block and one steal over 35 minutes during Sunday's 129-123 loss to the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
It was poor night shooting the ball by Bane, but he was still able to fill the box score and dish out eight assists. Despite Sunday's hiccup, the star guard is still averaging 19.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.1 three-pointers in 35.1 minutes over his last eight outings. Bane has hit the 20-point plateau in six of these contests, so he should be able to bounce back in the scoring department before long.
Feb 20, 2025
Balanced showing as top scorer
Bane finished with 23 points (9-16 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven assists, five rebounds and two blocks over 33 minutes in Thursday's 127-113 loss to Indiana.
ANALYSIS
Bane led the way for Memphis in Thursday's contest, pacing all players in scoring, threes made and assists while recording a team-high-tying pair of blocks in a well-rounded performance. Bane has tallied at least 23 points in nine contests, having surpassed the 20-point mark in six consecutive outings. Defensively, Bane matched a season high in blocks, a mark he has now recorded on three occasions.
Feb 13, 2025
Paces team with 23 points
Bane recorded 23 points (8-17 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds and four assists over 37 minutes during Wednesday's 128-114 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
With Ja Morant (knee) on the sidelines, Bane propped up the backcourt with a 16-point flourish in the first quarter before cooling off later in the game. The standout swingman has scored at least 20 points in five consecutive contests.
Feb 12, 2025
Hits for 20 points in win
Bane supplied 20 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-7 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one steal over 35 minutes during Tuesday's 119-112 win over Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Bane had a decent shooting night, but his high rebound total helped out his bottom line immensely. Bane recorded 20 points for the second consecutive night after missing two games with an ankle sprain. He's not on a minute restriction and seems fully recovered, which is good news for a Memphis team that needs a healthy backcourt to remain effective.
Feb 8, 2025
Scores 20 points in return
Bane had 20 points (7-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), nine rebounds, five assists and two steals across 36 minutes during Saturday's 125-112 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Bane returned to the court after missing the past two games due to an ankle injury. Despite initially being tabled as week-to-week, Bane was able to blow through that timeline. The fact he led the team in both scoring and playing time would indicate that he should be good to go moving forward.
Feb 8, 2025
Playing Saturday vs. OKC
Bane (ankle) is available for Saturday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Bane has been sidelined for the Grizzlies' last two games due to a left ankle sprain, but he has progressed enough in his recovery to return Saturday. Bane's return will likely send Luke Kennard back to the bench. Bane averaged 21.3 points on 55.8 percent shooting (including 48.9 percent from three on 4.7 3PA/G), 6.4 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals over 33.2 minutes per game over his last 10 outings prior to his injury.
Feb 7, 2025
Iffy against Oklahoma City
Bane (ankle) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game versus the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Bane missed Memphis' previous two contests due to a left ankle sprain, but his questionable status for Saturday is a good sign that he isn't expected to remain sidelined for a significant period. However, if Bane is downgraded to out, Luke Kennard will likely receive increased playing time.
Feb 4, 2025
Lacks clear return timeline
Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said prior to Monday's 128-109 win over the Spurs that Bane has been diagnosed with a left foot sprain following an MRI and will miss some time, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
While Jenkins didn't offer up a definitive timeline for Bane's return, the coach said that the Grizzlies came away encouraged by the results of the MRI, which ruled out a more significant injury. In any case, Bane will most likely miss a second straight game Wednesday in Toronto, and his availability for the Grizzlies' remaining three games before the All-Star break would also appear to be in jeopardy. Luke Kennard entered the starting five at shooting guard in Bane's stead Monday, finishing with two points, three assists, one rebound and one steal in 22 minutes.
Feb 3, 2025
Won't play Monday
Bane won't play Monday against the Spurs due to left ankle soreness.
ANALYSIS
Bane tweaked his left ankle in the final few minutes of Sunday's win over Milwaukee, so it's not a surprise to see the Grizzlies exercise caution for the second leg of this back-to-back set. With Bane sidelined, a number of players could see an uptick in minutes which includes Luke Kennard, GG Jackson and Jake LaRavia. Ja Morant (shoulder) remains questionable for the Grizzlies.
Feb 3, 2025
May be managing ankle injury
Bane didn't play the final three minutes of Sunday's 132-119 win over the Bucks due to an apparent ankle injury, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
ANALYSIS
Memphis never provided a formal update on Bane's status, but the fact that he exited the game when the Grizzlies were clinging to a five-point lead and didn't return make his status worth monitoring heading into Monday's game against the Spurs. Before departing, Bane put up 22 points (9-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), nine rebounds and three assists across 28 minutes.
Jan 31, 2025
Puts up 24 points
Bane ended Thursday's 120-119 win over Houston with 24 points (11-24 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 12 rebounds and six assists over 40 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane had a bigger responsibility in the playmaking department due to the absence of Ja Morant (shoulder), and he finished just four assists away from a triple-double. Regardless of whether Morant returns for Sunday's matchup at Milwaukee or not, Bane should be a productive player for the Grizzlies as he's finding ways to make his presence felt on both ends of the court.
Jan 25, 2025
Dazzles in playmaking role
Bane registered 20 points (9-18 FG, 2-7 3Pt) and 14 assists over 34 minutes during Friday's 139-126 victory over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Bane operated as the Grizzlies' primary playmaker Friday due to the absence of Ja Morant (illness), and he responded by tying his season-high mark in assists. Bane has recorded eight or more assists in five of his 10 games in January, a span in which he's averaging a robust stat line of 21.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
Jan 23, 2025
Puts up 24 points in win
Bane finished with 24 points (10-15 FG, 4-7 3Pt), two rebounds, eight assists and one block across 34 minutes during Wednesday's 132-120 victory over Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Bane has surpassed the 20-point plateau in six games in a row, and the former TCU standout continues to play at a high level as one of the Grizzlies' primary offensive weapons. He's averaging 22.5 points, 6.0 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game during that prolific six-game stretch.
Jan 21, 2025
Extends scoring stretch Monday
Bane logged 22 points (7-14 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, five assists and two steals across 37 minutes during Monday's 108-106 victory over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Even though Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson could have bigger roles on offense on a more regular basis, there's no question Bane has found a way to stand out as a reliable scoring threat for Memphis. He's scored at least 20 points in five games in a row, averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game in that span.
Jan 18, 2025
Excels in playmaking role
Bane totaled 22 points (10-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt), six rebounds, 14 assists and three steals across 33 minutes during Friday's 140-112 win over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies were without Ja Morant (foot) for this matchup Friday, and since Luke Kennard entered the starting unit as his replacement, it was Bane who ended up officiating as the primary playmaker -- and with excellent results. The 14 dimes represented a season-high mark for the former TCU star, who also extended his streak of games with at least 20 points to four appearances. Bane is averaging 22.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.9 steals per game over his last 10 contests.
Jan 14, 2025
Hits for 25 in Monday's loss
Bane chipped in 25 points (9-13 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, two assists and two steals over 34 minutes during Monday's 120-118 loss to Houston.
ANALYSIS
The fifth-year guard continues to make an impact at both ends of the court. Over his last 12 appearances, Bane has drained multiple three-pointers 11 times and recorded multiple steals eight times, averaging 21.3 points, 6.0 assists, 5.3 boards, 2.8 threes and 1.8 steals over that stretch while shooting 53.8 percent from the floor and 43.6 percent from long range.
Jan 12, 2025
Strong two-way showing Saturday
Bane posted 21 points (8-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two steals in 32 minutes during Saturday's 127-125 win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Ja Morant didn't have his best performance Saturday, but Bane was one of the players who stepped up considerably to carry the Grizzlies to victory. The former TCU standout has managed to remain consistent on a game-to-game basis, and even though at times he operates as the Grizzlies' third-best scoring option, it's worth noting he's surpassed the 20-point plateau in five of his last six contests.
Jan 10, 2025
Chips in 16 points vs. Houston
Bane amassed 16 points (6-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, four assists and two steals in 27 minutes during Thursday's 119-115 loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Bane returned Thursday from a one-game absence due to a left ankle sprain, and he finished the contest as Memphis' third-leading scorer behind Ja Morant (27) and Jaren Jackson (21). Over his last 10 outings, Bane has averaged 20.9 points, 6.5 assists, 5.6 rebounds and 1.7 steals over 30.1 minutes per game.
Jan 9, 2025
Playing vs. Houston
Bane (ankle) is available for Thursday's game against the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies will be close to being at full strength Thursday, as Bane is one of several regulars who were deemed available for this matchup. He'll return after a one-game absence and is averaging 19.2 points, 6.4 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game since the beginning of December.
Jan 8, 2025
Questionable with ankle sprain
Bane (ankle) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Bane is in jeopardy of missing his second straight game Thursday due to an ankle sprain. Since Ja Morant (shoulder) is also iffy to play for the Grizzlies, Scotty Pippen and Luke Kennard may have to orchestrate Memphis' offense against the Rockets, as Marcus Smart (finger) remains out.
Jan 6, 2025
Ruled out
Bane (ankle) won't play Monday against the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Bane was being considered doubtful leading up to Monday's clash due to a left ankle sprain, so this update arrives as expected. Look for Jaylen Wells, Luke Kennard and Jake LaRavia to get more looks in Bane's absence.
Jan 5, 2025
Unlikely to play Monday
Bane (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Monday's game against the Mavericks, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane has played through a left ankle sprain against the Warriors on Friday, finishing with 22 points, 10 assists, four rebounds, two steals and one block over 35 minutes in a 121-113 loss. Jake LaRavia could make his first start of the 2024-25 regular season Monday if Bane is unable to play.
Jan 5, 2025
Double-doubles with full stat line
Bane produced 22 points (9-20 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, 10 assists, one block and two steals in 35 minutes during Saturday's 121-113 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Bane led the Grizzlies on Saturday with 22 points and 10 assists, good for his third double-double of the season. The star guard is going to need to handle additional ball-handling duties for however long Ja Morant (shoulder) remains on the shelf, which should aid Bane's overall fantasy value following a sluggish start to the season. Across his last nine outings, Bane is averaging 21.4 points, 6.8 assists, 5.8 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 2.7 threes while shooting 40.0 percent from downtown.
Jan 4, 2025
Gets green light
Bane (ankle) will play against the Warriors on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Bane will shake off a questionable tag and will be ready for the second leg of this back-to-back set. He looked sharp Friday against the Kings, finishing with 22 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and two steals.
Jan 4, 2025
Iffy for Saturday
Bane (ankle) has been listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies could be without their best players in the backcourt on Sunday, with Ja Morant (AC joint) still out and Bane potentially missing the second game of a back-to-back for Memphis with an ankle injury. The veteran guard is coming off a solid performance in the loss to the Kings on Friday, finishing with 22 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and two steals.
Dec 30, 2024
Scores 22 points
Bane finished Sunday's 130-106 loss to the Thunder with 22 points (7-15 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 5-6 FT), nine rebounds and four assists over 29 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies didn't have their best performance on offense, but Bane managed to deliver a solid stat line while scoring a team-high 22 points. This was Bane's third outing with at least 20 points in his last five contests.
Dec 23, 2024
Chips in 21 points vs. Clips
Bane provided 21 points (7-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-5 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals over 32 minutes during Monday's 114-110 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Bane was initially listed as questionable for Monday's game due to an illness, but he was cleared to play despite missing Memphis' morning shootaround. He finished as the Grizzlies' third-leading scorer behind Jaren Jackson (24) and Ja Morant (23), and Bane was one rebound shy from registering his third double-double of the regular season. Bane has made a more concerted effort to get his teammates involved as of late and has dished at least seven assists in each of his last outings. Over that span, Bane has averaged 17.4 points, 7.4 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals over 27.9 minutes per game.
Dec 23, 2024
Good to go Monday
Bane (illness) is listed as available for Monday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Bane was a late addition to the injury report Monday, though he will suit up after having been held out of the club's morning shootaround due to the illness. Over his last five outings, the 26-year-old has averaged 16.0 points, 6.8 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.8 steals across 28.0 minutes per contest.
Dec 23, 2024
Trending toward playing
Bane (illness) is expected to play in Monday's game against the Clippers, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane was added to the injury report Monday morning due to illness and was held out of the Grizzlies' morning shootaround. However, Bane is expected to suit up and face the Clippers. In his last four games, Bane is averaging 16.5 points, 7.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals across 26.8 minutes.
Dec 23, 2024
Absent from shootaround
Bane (illness) did not participate at Monday's morning shootaround, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane was a late addition to the injury report with a questionable tag and is trending in the wrong direction. If the Grizzlies don't give the green light for Bane to suit up, Jaylen Wells, Luke Kennard and Jake LaRavia would be candidates to see increased run against the Clippers.
Dec 23, 2024
Feeling ill, iffy for Monday
The Grizzlies list Bane as questionable for Monday's game against the Clippers due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Bane didn't appear on the Grizzlies' initial injury report released Sunday, so the illness is likely something that cropped up overnight. He'll presumably rest up throughout the day before the Grizzlies check back in on how he's feeling and provide an update on his status closer to the 8 p.m. ET tipoff. If Bane can't go Monday, the Grizzlies would have more minutes available on the wing for the likes of Jaylen Wells, Luke Kennard and Jake LaRavia.
Dec 22, 2024
Lands team-high 23 points
Bane contributed 23 points (7-12 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five rebounds, eight assists and four steals across 27 minutes during Saturday's 128-112 victory over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Bane shouldered more of the offensive load with Ja Morant (back) sidelined, scoring a team-high 23 points. After a slow start to the season, Bane has been able to slowly turn things around, scoring at least 15 points in six of his past eight appearances. Despite the slow ramp-up, Bane should continue to play a significant role moving forward. His next opportunity to impress will come against the Clippers on Monday.
Dec 14, 2024
Goes for 21 points Friday
Bane ended Friday's 135-119 win over the Nets with 21 points (8-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and one steal across 28 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane returned from a one-game absence Friday, and even though Ja Morant was the one who carried the team on offense, Bane certainly made his presence felt. He reached the 20-point mark for the first time since a Nov. 20 win over the 76ers, and he extended his streak of double-digit scoring performances to five games. Bane remains a regular starter for the Grizzlies when healthy, and while that role is enough to make him relevant, it's not a secret that his numbers have been trending in the wrong direction. He's averaging 14.8 points per game, representing his lowest mark -- by a sizable margin -- since his rookie year. He's also shooting a career-worst 32.4 percent from three-point range.
Dec 12, 2024
Off injury report for Friday
Bane (toe) is off the injury report ahead of Friday's game against Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Bane is set to return to action after sitting out of Sunday's win over the Wizards due to left toe soreness. Over his last five outings, the sharpshooter has averaged 14.8 points, 4.8 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals while shooting 49.2 percent from the field across 30.4 minutes per game.
Dec 8, 2024
Not playing Sunday
Bane (toe) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Bane will miss his first game since Nov. 13 due to left toe soreness. The 26-year-old will join Ja Morant (back) on the sideline, meaning the Grizzlies will likely take an extended look at Scotty Pippen, John Konchar and Jaylen Wells. Bane's next chance to play will come Friday against the Nets.
Dec 8, 2024
Questionable for Sunday
Bane is questionable for Sunday's game against the Wizards due to left toe soreness.
ANALYSIS
Bane and Ja Morant (back) both land on the injury report for the second half of Memphis' back-to-back set after playing Saturday. BAne posted 14 points, four assists, two rebounds and three steals in 33 minutes during Saturday's win over Boston.
Dec 7, 2024
Will play vs. Boston
Bane (toe) is available for Saturday's game against the Celtics, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane was initially listed as questionable due to a toe injury, but the star guard will get the nod Saturday and should handle his regular workload. This will be Bane's 11th straight start. He's averaging 12.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game in the previous 10.
Dec 7, 2024
Questionable Saturday vs. Celtics
Bane (toe) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against Boston.
ANALYSIS
Bane's status for Saturday's game may not be known until the Grizzlies go through pregame warmups. If Bane is unable to play, Scotty Pippen or Marcus Smart (ankle) could be inserted into the starting lineup alongside Ja Morant and Jaylen Wells. Bane has averaged 17.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.0 steals over 31.0 minutes per game in his last three outings.
Dec 6, 2024
Scores team-high 18 points
Bane supplied 18 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 32 minutes during Thursday's 115-110 win over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Bane has been trending in the right direction in recent games, and it seems the shooting woes plaguing him in late November are a thing of the past now. He's surpassed the 15-point mark in his last three appearances in December, averaging 17.7 points per game and shooting 53.8 percent from the floor in that span.
Nov 29, 2024
Shooting woes continue
Bane ended Friday's 120-109 victory over the Pelicans with seven points (3-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists and one steal in 26 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane continues to struggle on the offensive end, having shot a combined 10-of-36 from the field over the past four games. An injury after just five games certainly slowed his momentum following a solid start to the season. However, he has now suited up eight times since returning, making his shooting slump a little more baffling. Based on what we have seen from Bane in the past, he should be able to find a way to rectify the situation, starting with what should be an uptempo contest against the Pacers on Sunday.
Nov 21, 2024
Fills stat sheet Wednesday
Bane closed with 21 points (8-18 FG, 5-11 3Pt), 10 rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal over 35 minutes during Wednesday's 117-111 victory over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Jaren Jackson led the Grizzlies in scoring with his 25-point effort, but Bane led the team in rebounds and assists while also surpassing the 20-point mark. Bane has looked very good after missing seven straight games due to a strained right oblique, and he's averaging 13.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and a combined 1.5 steals-plus-blocks in his four appearances since returning to the hardwood.
Nov 18, 2024
Comes close to triple-double
Bane recorded 11 points (5-12 FG, 1-7 3Pt), 11 rebounds, seven assists and one block across 29 minutes during Sunday's 105-90 win over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Bane didn't have his best shooting performance, but the veteran guard found a way to make an impact in other areas and finished just three assists away from a triple-double. He should continue to see an uptick in his usage rate with Ja Morant (hip) sidelined, even if his scoring numbers do not reflect it much. The perfect example of that uptick is that the 11 rebounds and the seven assists were both season-high marks for the five-year veteran.
Nov 17, 2024
Moving back into starting lineup
Bane will start Sunday's game against the Nuggets, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane made his return Friday following a seven-game absence due to an oblique injury, but he operated off the bench, recording 18 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals in 27 minutes during a loss to Golden State. Santi Aldama will shift to the bench as a corresponding move.
Nov 16, 2024
Pops for 18 in return
Bane supplied 18 points (7-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two steals over 27 minutes off the bench during Friday's 123-118 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
The fifth-year guard was expected to be on a minutes restriction in his first game action since Oct, 30, but Bane seemed pretty close to fully recovered from his oblique strain and ended up playing most of the fourth quarter as the Grizzlies tried to mount a late comeback. He could rejoin the starting five, and take on his usual workload, as soon as Sunday's home clash with the Nuggets.
Nov 15, 2024
Coming off bench Friday
Bane is not in the Grizzlies starting lineup for Friday's game against the Warriors, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane is returning from a seven-game absence Friday due to a strained right oblique. However, he will come off the bench as the Grizzlies will start Scotty Pippen and Jaylen Wells in the backcourt, and Bane will likely operate on a minutes restriction in his return.
Nov 15, 2024
Returning Friday
Bane (oblique) is available for Friday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Bane will return to action Friday after missing the Grizzlies last seven games due to a right oblique strain, though he could be under a minutes restriction following a lengthy absence. In the four games prior to his injury, Bane averaged 21.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals over 28.8 minutes per contest.
Nov 15, 2024
Goes through shootaround Friday
Bane (oblique), who is questionable for Friday's game against the Warriors, was active during the Grizzlies' shootaround, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane was upgraded to questionable following a seven-game absence streak, and his status suggests he is nearing a return to game action. The sharpshooter will likely remain a game-time decision after going through warmups, and if he suits up he will likely remain under a minutes restriction in his return. If Bane is unable to play, Santi Aldama is expected to draw the start at small forward once again.
Nov 14, 2024
Questionable for Friday
Bane (oblique) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Bane's questionable tag suggests he is progressing toward a return to game action after being deemed week-to-week in early November due to a right oblique strain. The sharpshooter is in jeopardy of missing his eighth straight contest and if he is unable to suit up, Santi Aldama is expected to draw the start at small forward once again.
Nov 12, 2024
Ruled out vs. Lakers
Bane (oblique) is out for Wednesday's game against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Bane is in line to miss a seventh straight contest, and there's no clarity on when he'll return to the hardwood. Bane was deemed week-to-week in early November, and there haven't been any signs of progression in his recovery, so it's uncertain when the forward will be able to return. Santi Aldama should remain in the starting lineup while Bane is out. His next chance to play will come against the Warriors on Friday.
Nov 9, 2024
Out vs. Portland
Bane (oblique) is out for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Bane was deemed week-to-week in early November and there haven't been any signs of progression in his recovery, so it's uncertain when the forward will be able to return. Bane's next chance to play will come against the Lakers on Wednesday, and Santi Aldama is expected to remain in the lineup while Bane is sidelined.
Nov 1, 2024
Deemed week-to-week
Bane, who has been ruled out of Saturday's game against the 76ers, sustained an oblique strain in the third quarter of Wednesday's game against the Nets and will be considered week-to-week moving forward.
ANALYSIS
This is a huge blow to a thin backcourt as the sharpshooter and Marcus Smart (ankle) will join Cam Spencer (ankle) and Vince Williams (lower leg) on the sidelines for an extended period of time. In five regular-season outings thus far, Bane has averaged 18.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 combined steals-plus-blocks across 26.4 minutes per game while shooting 40.6 percent from downtown.
Nov 1, 2024
Remains sidelined Saturday
Bane (oblique) is out for Saturday's game versus the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Bane will miss his second straight contest Saturday while dealing with a right oblique strain. With Memphis dealing with multiple injuries to their backcourt, Jaylen Wells, Scotty Pippen and Yuki Kawamura should continue to receive increased playing time. Bane's next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Brooklyn.
Oct 31, 2024
Ruled out Thursday
Bane (oblique) has been ruled out for Thursday's matchup with Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Prior to his injury, Bane put up 10 points (3-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and six rebounds over 17 minutes before leaving the game for good. Bane is averaging 18.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.6 blocks across 26.4 minutes, including a blistering 40.6 percent from three to start the season, so his presence will be missed against the Bucks. With Bane out, Memphis will likely turn to Jake LaRavia and Jaylen Wells until he returns.
Oct 30, 2024
Suffers oblique injury
Bane will not return to Wednesday's game against Brooklyn due to an oblique injury.
ANALYSIS
Bane and Marcus Smart (ankle) have both been ruled out for the remainder of the contest in what has been a parade of injuries for Memphis over the past 12 months. The Grizzlies close a back-to-back Thursday versus Milwaukee and Bane's status will need to be monitored.
Oct 29, 2024
Scores 30 points in loss Monday
Bane recorded 30 points (11-19 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and four assists across 31 minutes during Monday's 126-123 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Bane was coming off back-to-back games in which he hadn't reached the 20-point mark, but he took advantage of the absence of Ja Morant (thigh) to lead the Grizzlies in scoring in this one. Bane's role as one of the Grizzlies' top offensive options is not under threat with or without Morant on the court, but his upside will experience an uptick whenever Morant misses time.
Oct 24, 2024
Scores 24 points in season opener
Bane closed Wednesday's 126-124 victory over the Jazz with 24 points (8-20 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 27 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane was one of three Grizzlies who reached the 20-point mark in this win, with Ja Morant and Santi Aldama being the others, and he figures to play a prominent role on offense for Memphis as long as he manages to stay healthy, which was quite an issue within the Grizzlies in 2023-24. Bane should hover around the 20-point mark on a regular basis, as he's entrenched as the Grizzlies' second-best offensive option behind Morant.
Oct 18, 2024
Scores 19 points vs. Miami
Bane tallied 19 points (8-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven assists, four rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 26 minutes during Friday's 114-109 preseason loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Bane led the Grizzlies in assists Friday and co-led in scoring with Santi Aldama. Bane averaged a career-high 23.7 points per game in 2023-24, but he only played 42 regular-season games due to separate ankle and back injuries. The 2020 first-round pick will look to help lead the Grizzlies back to the NBA postseason alongside starters Ja Morant, Marcus Smart, Jaren Jackson (hamstring) and rookie center Zach Edey.
Oct 14, 2024
Ties game-high 23 points Monday
Bane amassed 23 points (9-16 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), two rebounds and two assists across 22 minutes in Monday's 120-116 preseason win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Zach Edey and Bane tied for a game-high 23 points in Monday's contest. The sharpshooter missed Saturday's matchup against the Bulls due to undisclosed reasons, but he returned to the starting five while catching fire versus the Pacers. The 26-year-old averaged a career-high 23.7 points and 5.5 assists across 34.4 minutes per game last season; however, he was limited to only 42 regular-season outings due to injuries to both his ankle and back.
Oct 14, 2024
Back in action Monday
Bane (undisclosed) will start Monday's preseason game against the Pacers, Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane didn't suit up Saturday against Chicago for undisclosed reasons but will return to action Monday. He's joined in the starting lineup by Scotty Pippen, Jake LaRavia, Santi Aldama and Zach Edey.
Oct 12, 2024
Not starting Saturday
Bane is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's preseason game against
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies haven't announced anything, but all signs point to this being a scheduled off day for Bane after he started in the team's previous two preseason contests. Bane should continue to feature for the Grizzlies in the rest of the preseason, however, with an aim toward being fully ready for the regular-season opener against Utah on Oct. 23.
Oct 11, 2024
Solid night in loss
Bane produced 17 points (7-13 FG, 3-5 3Pt), two rebounds, three assists and two steals across 25 minutes in Thursday's 119-94 loss to the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Bane is expected to form part of a potent backcourt that will feature Ja Morant and Marcus Smart. Although injury limited Bane to 42 games last season, he logged career-high averages in points (23.7) and assists (5.5). He's also a solid perimeter shooter who will drive up his score with several three-point attempts. He averaged a whopping 8.6 attempts from downtown last season.
Oct 2, 2024
Healthy for camp
Bane (back) has been a full participant in training camp this week, Michael Wallace of NBA.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A back injury robbed Bane of the final nine games of the 2023-24 season, and that took place shortly after he missed a couple months with an ankle issue. He had a healthy offseason by all accounts, however, and fantasy managers will be looking for him to bounce back with his injuries behind him. In just 36 regular-season appearances last season, Bane averaged 24.7 points, 5.4 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 34.9 minutes.
Apr 15, 2024
Expected to have healthy offseason
Bane (back) will be sidelined for a few more weeks but is expected to have a healthy summer, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane averaged 24.7 points, 5.4 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 34.9 minutes over his first 36 appearances of 2023-24 before injuries derailed his campaign. An ankle injury sidelined Bane from mid-January to mid-March, and he appeared in only five of the ensuing six games before a back issue cost him the final nine contests of the regular season. It was a lost season for the Grizzlies as a whole, as Ja Morant (suspension/shoulder), Marcus Smart (finger/foot) and others also mixed extended periods. However, it sounds like the Grizzlies will have a healthy offseason, which bodes well for their chances of bouncing back in 2024-25.
Apr 13, 2024
Won't suit up Sunday
Bane (back) won't play Sunday against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Bane's regular season is officially over. His campaign was riddled with injuries, as he made just 42 appearances. He finished with averages of 23.7 points, 5.5 assists, 4.4 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 3.3 three-pointers.
Apr 9, 2024
Likely out for remainder of season
Coach Taylor Jenkins said Tuesday that there is a "good chance" Bane (back) won't play for the rest of the season, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
With the Grizzlies already being eliminated from the playoffs, it appears that they are shutting down Bane and Jaren Jackson (quadriceps) for the final week of the 2023-24 campaign. Bane will likely end the season averaging 23.7 points, 5.5 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 34.4 minutes across 42 appearances. The 25-year-old guard showed a promising ability to be a lead scorer, with Ja Morant (shoulder) missing most of the season.
Apr 8, 2024
Remains out
Bane (back) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Bane will miss a sixth straight game due to back soreness. His next chance to suit up will come during the second half of Memphis' back-to-back set Wednesday in Cleveland, but at this point, it feels like the Grizzlies will shut down their top players for the final week of the regular season.
Apr 6, 2024
Will remain sidelined
Bane (back) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Bane's back soreness will extend his absent streak to five games. The star shooting guard's next chance to take the floor will come Tuesday versus the Spurs. While he is out, Luke Kennard (knee), John Konchar (heel), Vince Williams (knee) and GG Jackson are all candidates to see extended workloads at shoting guard.
Apr 4, 2024
Remains out Friday
Bane (back) is out for Friday's game against Detroit.
ANALYSIS
At this point of the season and with the Grizzlies out of the playoff race, it doesn't make sense to risk Bane down the stretch. This will be his fourth straight absence due to back soreness, and his next chance to play, as unlikely as it might be, will be a Saturday matchup against the 76ers at home.
Apr 2, 2024
Absence to continue Wednesday
Bane (back) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Bane will miss a third consecutive contest due to back soreness. He is joined by Vince Williams (knee) and Yuta Watanabe (personal) in being unavailable for Wednesday's game, while John Konchar (heel) is doubtful.
Mar 31, 2024
Won't play Monday
Bane (back) will be inactive for Monday's game against Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Bane will miss a second consecutive game due to back spasms, with his next opportunity to take the court coming Wednesday against Milwaukee. Santi Aldama (illness) and John Konchar (heel) are questionable and doubtful, respectively, for a Memphis rotation in flux.
Mar 29, 2024
Won't play Saturday
Bane is out for Saturday's game versus the Magic due to back soreness.
ANALYSIS
Bane's absence will likely open up increased minutes for Luke Kennard, Jake LaRavia and GG Jackson. Bane's next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Detroit.
Mar 28, 2024
Racks up career-high 16 dimes
Bane finished with 26 points (8-17 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, 16 assists and one steal across 40 minutes during Wednesday's 136-124 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Bane was Memphis' leading scorer and drained four triples in the loss, but his most impactful contribution came as a passer. The talented guard set a career high with 16 assists, marking his first time reaching double digits in that category over five contests since returning from a 29-game absence March 16. Bane has two other double-digit assist performances this season and is averaging a career-high 5.5 dimes per contest on the campaign.
Mar 26, 2024
Modest performance in loss
Bane amassed 15 points (6-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one steal across 32 minutes during Monday's 128-103 loss to Denver.
ANALYSIS
Bane was back in the starting lineup Monday, producing nothing more than a serviceable fantasy line. While it is good to see him back on the floor, it is clear the Grizzlies are not going to roll him out there on a nightly basis. Given the uncertainty regarding his availability, he is a tough player to hold for more than one game at a time.
Mar 25, 2024
Returning Monday
Bane (back) will play Monday night against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Bane sat out of Saturday's matchup due to back soreness, but he's been given the green light for Monday. He's appeared in only three games since Jan. 12, averaging 17.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.0 steals over this brief stretch.
Mar 24, 2024
Questionable for Monday
Bane (back) is questionable for Monday's game against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Bane continues to deal with back soreness, but it's encouraging that he's deemed questionable rather than doubtful on the initial injury report. If he's sidelined again Monday, Scotty Pippen and DeJon Jarreau are candidates to see increased run.
Mar 22, 2024
Officially out
Bane (back) won't play Friday night against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Bane was listed as doubtful on the injury report due to a sore back, and the Grizzlies will shut him down for Friday's matchup. Look for Scotty Pippen and DeJon Jarreau to see an uptick in playing time in the backcourt as a result.
Mar 21, 2024
Doubtful for Friday
Bane is doubtful to play against the Spurs on Friday due to a sore back.
ANALYSIS
With Bane likely to be watching from the sidelines Friday evening, and Scotty Pippen (shine) questionable, DeJon Jarreau and Jordan Goodwin could be asked to play big minutes. Check back for official confirmation on Bane's status closer to Friday's tip.
Mar 19, 2024
Stuffs stat sheet Monday
Bane posted 24 points (7-19 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 8-8 FT), five rebounds, four assists and three steals across 37 minutes during Monday's 121-111 overtime loss to the Kings.
ANALYSIS
It's only been two games since he returned to action, but Bane has been making his presence felt for the Grizzlies on both ends of the court, emerging as a reliable offensive weapon but also leaving his mark defensively. Even though Memphis' season has gone down the drain, Bane is expected to play a strong role -- while being a solid fantasy option -- for as long as he remains available down the stretch.
Mar 17, 2024
Scores 22 points in return
Bane posted 22 points (7-17 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 4-6 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and one block over 32 minutes during Saturday's 118-112 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Bane made his first appearance on a game since Jan. 12, and it didn't seem as if he had been out for two months, as he finished with a strong stat line and didn't look as rusty as many fantasy managers would've expected, given his lengthy absence. If Bane stays healthy throughout the final month of the regular season, he should operate as the Grizzlies' primary offensive option by a wide margin.
Mar 16, 2024
Will start Saturday
Bane (ankle) will start Saturday's game against the Thunder, Chris Herrington of The Daily Memphian reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane has been sidelined for the past couple months, so it's not a surprise that coach Taylor Jenkins said that the Grizzlies will be mindful of his usage and minutes right out of the gate. Based on how the Grizzlies have handled their injuries and rotations, it's reasonable to expect some maintenance days for Bane during the final stretch.
Mar 15, 2024
Deemed questionable for Saturday
Bane (ankle) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Bane is nearing a return from a two-month absence due to a left ankle sprain. If he's cleared to suit up for the first time since Jan. 12, Bane would likely be limited but may still get a look with the first unit.
Mar 13, 2024
Officially ruled out
Bane (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Bane's absence shouldn't come as a surprise after Bane practiced with the Grizzlies G League affiliate Wednesday. However, he seems to be inching toward a return after spending the last two months on the sidelines with an ankle sprain. Bane's next chance to suit up comes Saturday against Oklahoma City.
Mar 13, 2024
Will practice in G League
The Grizzlies assigned Bane (ankle) to the G League's Memphis Hustle to participate in practice but will be recalled after.
ANALYSIS
Bane is expected to miss his 29th straight game Wednesday due to a left ankle sprain. However, the 25-year-old guard's participation in practice is a good sign that he is nearing a return.
Mar 13, 2024
Nearing a return
Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said Tuesday that Bane (ankle) is nearing a return to action, Damichael Cole of the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane has been out of the lineup since Jan. 12, and the Grizzlies have taken a very cautious approach with his rehab given their place in the standings. "Bane's working really hard, so I envision in a couple games here, he's back in the lineup," Jenkins said. The Grizzlies announced on Feb. 22 that Bane would be back in three-to-five weeks, so Jenkins' comments indicate that he would be back closer to the front end of that projected timetable. For now, fantasy managers can consider Bane as questionable for Saturday's game against the Thunder.
Feb 22, 2024
Targeting mid-to-late March return
Bane continues to make solid progress in his recovery from a Grade 3 left ankle sprain and he's expected to return to the floor in 3-5 weeks.
ANALYSIS
Unfortunately, this means that if your league's fantasy playoffs begin by Week 19, Bane could miss the entirety of your fantasy postseason, so he's a potential cut candidate if you're struggling and without an injury reserve spot on your roster. Luke Kennard, Vince Williams, Scotty Pippen and Ziaire Williams will continue to pick up the slack in Bane's absence.
Feb 20, 2024
Making progress, but timeline TBD
Grizzlies general manager Zach Kleiman said Friday that Bane (ankle) is progressing through the initial stages of his rehab and will be re-evaluated at some point after the All-Star break, Michael Wallace of the team's official site reports. "We'll be smart," Kleiman said, when asked if Bane could return at some point this season. "We're going to make sure [Bane and Marcus Smart] are in position to be fully healthy [before playing]."
ANALYSIS
Bane hasn't played since Jan. 12, when he sustained what was reported as a Grade 3 left ankle sprain in the Grizzlies' loss to the Clippers. Though a Grade 3 sprain typically entails a multi-month recovery and often requires surgery, Bane seems to be coming along far more rapidly in his rehab process than initially anticipated. Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins confirmed earlier this month that Bane was able to resume individual work in practice, and a formal update regarding when the fourth-year guard might be ready to mix into drills with his healthy teammates could come shortly after he's re-evaluated. At this stage, however, Bane remains without a formal timeline for a return to game action, though Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal relays that Bane is closer to playing than Smart, who has been out since Jan. 9 with a right ring finger central slip tear. Given that the 20-36 Grizzlies aren't shaping up as playoff contenders, the team likely won't look to rush Bane back until they're confide
Feb 6, 2024
Resumes individual work
Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins confirmed last Wednesday that Bane (ankle) resumed taking part in individual work at practice, but the 25-year-old is still on track to be re-evaluated following the All-Star break at the six-week mark of his recovery timeline, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. "He's kind of doing small movement shooting right now," Jenkins said of Bane. "He's keeping everything contained, but he's been working his tail off in medical spaces. He's hungry to get back
ANALYSIS
Bane was diagnosed with a Grade 3 left ankle sprain after suffering the injury in a Jan. 12 loss to the Clippers. Though he's not scheduled to be re-evaluated Feb. 25, Bane seems to be making remarkable progress in his recovery from the severe injury. He shed the walking boot on his ankle less than two weeks after suffering the injury, and he already seems to be steadily ramping up again in on-court workouts. Even though Bane is angling to return to the court before his six-week re-evaluation timeline, the Grizzlies likely aren't ready to rush the sharpshooter back into game action until he's 100 percent healthy. Bane still looks as though he'll avoid being shut down for the season, but he could be subject to a minutes restriction whenever he returns, and he may sit out some games during particularly busy portions of Memphis' post-break schedule.
Jan 14, 2024
Out at least six weeks
The Grizzlies announced Sunday that Bane has been diagnosed with a left ankle sprain and will be re-evaluated in six weeks.
ANALYSIS
Bane suffered his ankle injury in the third quarter of Friday's loss to the Clippers and is facing a multi-week absence. Bane was in the midst of one of the best years of his career, averaging 24.4 points, 5.3 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 34.5 minutes per game over 37 appearances. Vince Williams, Ziaire Williams and John Konchar are candidates to see increased playing time while Bane is out.
Jan 14, 2024
Won't play Monday
Bane (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Bane sustained a left ankle sprain Friday against the Clippers and will be unavailable for a second consecutive matchup. David Roddy and Xavier Tillman saw increased run Saturday against the Knicks and will likely see an uptick in playing time once again Monday. Whether Bane is available Thursday against Minnesota remains to be seen.
Jan 13, 2024
Ruled out against Knicks
Bane (ankle) won't play in Saturday's game versus the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Bane will miss Saturday's contest after spraining his left ankle against the Clippers on Friday. David Roddy, Vince Williams and Ziaire Williams will likely receive increased minutes in his absence. Bane's next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Golden State.
Jan 12, 2024
Done for night due to ankle
Bane left Friday's game against the Clippers with a left ankle sprain and will not return. He finished with 15 points (3-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 6-7 FT), three assists, one rebound and one steal in 23 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane turned his ankle pretty badly and wasn't able to shoot his free throws, so he is ineligible to return to the game. Memphis' injury list is growing, and the team is very shorthanded, so guys like John Konchar, Ziaire Williams and Jacob Gilyard could find themselves with larger roles if Bane misses additional time. Bane should be considered questionable for Saturday's game against the Knicks.
Jan 10, 2024
Carries Memphis to upset win
Bane notched 32 points (11-27 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 8-9 FT), nine rebounds and four assists in 39 minutes during Tuesday's 120-103 victory over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Bane will return to the prominent role he had on offense when Ja Morant (shoulder) was suspended, and now that the star floor general will miss the rest of the season, it's safe to expect Bane to have more touches, a higher usage rate, and better numbers overall. Bane was producing at a strong rate when Morant wasn't around, but his numbers didn't drop significantly when he was available, either. Bane is averaging 26.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game since the start of December.
Jan 6, 2024
Logs double-double with 13 assists
Bane accumulated 24 points (8-14 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, 13 assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Friday's 127-113 win over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Bane continues to show up nightly with excellent stat lines, December was a stellar month for Bane, who averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists and 4.6 rebounds over 14 contests. He's doing equally well to begin 2024, and his 13 dimes marked Bane's highest assist total of the season.
Jan 4, 2024
Comes close to double-double
Bane finished with 22 points (9-18 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and eight assists over 38 minutes during Wednesday's 116-111 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Bane finished just two assists away from recording a double-double Wednesday, but perhaps more importantly, he continues to make an impact on offense despite the return of Ja Morant. Bane was Memphis' go-to player on offense when Morant was out, and while he has returned to being the second-best option since the star floor general returned from a 25-game suspension, his numbers have not suffered a sizable downgrade. He's averaging 24.4 points per game since Dec. 19, which is the date when Morant made his regular-season debut.
Jan 3, 2024
Scores 24 points Tuesday
Bane ended Tuesday's 106-98 win over the Spurs with 24 points (11-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists over 34 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Ja Morant carried the Grizzlies to victory Tuesday against a reeling Spurs team, but Bane's contributions can't go unnoticed. He's scored at least 20 points in six of his last eight appearances, a span in which he's averaging 24.8 points per game while shooting 50.3 percent from the field. Morant will remain the star on offense for Memphis, but Bane's rise to a reliable scoring threat on a game-to-game basis certainly gives Memphis a new dimension on the offensive end.
Dec 30, 2023
Solid production in loss
Bane provided 18 points (7-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and two steals in 37 minutes during Friday's 117-106 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Bane gave a good multi-category performance despite the loss. Ja Morant's return hasn't had an adverse effect on Bane's production, but the 18-point result is his lowest scoring total with Morant in the starting lineup. Bane has posted several decent totals over that span, so it's too early to say if his value will suffer a significant drop with Morant's presence.
Dec 24, 2023
Explodes for 37 points Saturday
Bane notched 37 points (13-25 FG, 5-14 3Pt, 6-6 FT), six rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal over 36 minutes during Saturday's 125-119 win over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Ja Morant has carried the Grizzlies to a 3-0 record since returning to action earlier this week, but perhaps the most significant development for the Grizzlies has been the emergence of Bane as a reliable scorer who can take over games when needed. Bane is having a career-best season and is averaging 28.4 points per game while shooting 50.5 percent from the field in December.
Dec 22, 2023
Strong from deep as top scorer
Bane closed with 31 points (11-26 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Thursday's 116-103 victory over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Bane led all players in Thursday's contest in scoring while connecting on a team-best mark from three and ending second on the team in rebounds and assists. Bane has crossed the 30-point mark on nine occurrences this season, posting at least 30 points, five rebounds and five assists in five outings.
Dec 19, 2023
Scores 17 points in defeat
Bane logged 17 points (6-14 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound, five assists and one block in 28 minutes during Monday's 116-97 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Bane was unable to repeat the 28-point, 13-rebound double-double he registered against the Rockets on Dec. 15, and while the Grizzlies looked overmatched in this one, Bane posted a decent stat line. Even though his usage rate will decrease with the expected return of Ja Morant on Tuesday following his 25-game suspension, he should remain a reliable scoring threat for Memphis going forward.
Dec 16, 2023
Scores 28 points in return
Bane posted 28 points (11-25 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists and two steals over 40 minutes during Friday's 103-96 loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Bane returned from a one-game absence Friday and was one of Memphis' go-to players on offense, but unfortunately, his efforts were not enough to lift the Grizzlies to victory against Houston. Bane has enjoyed a strong year as Memphis' main scoring threat with Ja Morant (suspension) sidelined, and he's been on a tear of late after scoring 27 or more points in five of his last six contests.
Dec 15, 2023
Good to go Friday
Bane (illness) has been cleared to play in Friday's game against the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Bane was trending in the right direction before ultimately getting the green light to return from a one-game absence. Vince Williams started for Bane on Wednesday against Houston and held his own, scoring 10 points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-6 FT) with seven rebounds, one assist and one steal in 28 minutes.
Dec 15, 2023
Expected to play Friday
Bane, who's listed as questionable due to an illness, is expected to play Friday against the Rockets, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane was sidelined for the first time this season Wednesday and was in danger of missing back-to-back games after being listed as questionable for Friday, but it looks like he's on track to suit up. With Ja Morant (suspension) and Marcus Smart (foot) still out, Bane should operate as Memphis' go-to playmaker versus Houston. However, Morant and Smart are nearing returns, so Bane's usage may take a hit soon.
Dec 14, 2023
Questionable to play Friday
Bane (illness) is questionable to play against the Rockets on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Bane missed his first game of the season Wednesday, and it doesn't sound like he's particularly close to returning for the second half of this home-and-home series against Houston. If Bane can't go, then Vince Williams might be in line for an increased role, just like he did Wednesday. Bane is averaging 24.8 points per game this season, and his absence would represent a huge blow to an already depleted Grizzlies backcourt that's already missing Ja Morant (suspension) and Marcus Smart (foot).
Dec 13, 2023
Will miss first game of season
Bane (illness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Rockets, Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane was a late addition to the injury report Wednesday morning and will ultimately miss his first game of the season. Memphis continues to deal with a slew of injuries, leaving John Konchar, Vince Williams and Jaylen Nowell in line for increased roles. Coach Taylor Jenkins said he hopes Bane's illness is just a 24-hour issue, so the starting shooting guard could return to action Friday versus Houston.
Dec 13, 2023
Questionable to play
Bane is questionable for Wednesday's game versus Houston due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Bane was a late addition to the injury report for Memphis as he woke up Wednesday feeling under the weather. Bane has played in all 22 games this season and is averaging 24.8 points, 5.3 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 3.3 three-pointers. If Bane is unable to play, the Grizzlies will need guys like Derrick Rose, Jaylen Nowell, Jacob Gilyard and Ziaire Williams to step up.
Dec 12, 2023
Contributes 28 points in loss
Bane ended with 28 points (11-20 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 39 minutes during Monday's 120-113 loss to Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. combined to score 69 points in a contest during which no other Grizzlies player tallied more than 10. Bane also served as the team's top distributor, doubling the assists mark of Derrick Rose, who finished second in that category. Bane has knocked down at least three tripes in seven straight contests, and he ranks sixth in the NBA with 73 three-pointers on the campaign.
Dec 9, 2023
Leader from deep to boost offense
Bane notched 16 points (6-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one block over 37 minutes in Friday's 127-103 loss to Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Bane led all Grizzlies starters in threes made and minutes played while ending as one of four players with a double-digit point total in a losing effort. Bane has tallied at least 15 points in all but two games this season, connecting on four or more threes in three of his last four outings.
Dec 6, 2023
Scores career-high 49 points in win
Bane registered 49 points (19-31 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 7-7 FT), seven assists and six rebounds over 35 minutes in Wednesday's 116-102 win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Bane and Jaren Jackson were the only two Grizzlies starters to score in double digits Wednesday and the former went 12-for-16 from the field in the second half. Bane has established himself as the main option with Ja Morant continuing to serve his 25-game suspension. Bane has had a red-hot start to December and is averaging 35.3 points per game on 58.8 percent shooting this month.
Dec 3, 2023
Efficient in loss to Phoenix
Bane closed Saturday's 116-109 loss to the Suns with 27 points (10-17 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), three rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals over 30 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane was one of the team's best players in this game, but his efforts were not enough to lift the Grizzlies to victory against one of the top contenders in the Western Conference. Bane has stepped up to play as Memphis' main offensive threat in the absence of Ja Morant (suspension), and the numbers back that up. Bane is averaging a career-best 23.8 points per game while surpassing the 20-point mark in five of his last eight outings.
Dec 2, 2023
Carries team to win
Bane closed with 30 points (11-20 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 4-6 FT), four rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal over 34 minutes during Friday's 108-94 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year guard not only led all scorers on the night, he was basically a one-man wrecking crew for Memphis as the rest of the starting lineup combined for only 20 points. Bane is on track to set new career highs in scoring (23.6 points per game), assists (5.2 per game), steals (1.3 per game) and made threes (3.3 per game), but his career-high 29.3 percent usage rate -- a top-20 figure in the NBA this season -- will almost certainly come down once Ja Morant (suspension) returns in a few weeks.
Nov 27, 2023
Scores in double figures
Bane posted 13 points (5-16 FG, 3-9 3Pt), two rebounds and four assists over 34 minutes during Sunday's 119-97 loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Bane was held to a single-digit scoring total during Friday's loss to the Suns, but he was slightly more effective Sunday despite continuing to shoot relatively inefficiently from the floor. The 25-year-old is now averaging 23.6 points, 5.0 assists and 4.4 rebounds in 34.1 minutes per game this year.
Nov 24, 2023
Good to go
Bane (foot) is available for Friday's game against the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Bane tested out his foot during pregame warmups and apparently feels good enough to give it a go. Barring any setbacks, look for him to take on his usual responsibilities at shooting guard.
Nov 23, 2023
Questionable for Friday
Bane is questionable for Friday's game against the Suns due to a left foot sprain.
ANALYSIS
This update comes from the official injury report, so we don't have many specifics yet. But given the questionable tag, this is likely a day-to-day issue. If Bane is unable to play Friday, the Grizzlies would likely use a committee approach to soak up his minutes with guys like Jacob Gilyard, John Konchar and Ziaire Williams potentially getting a bump in fantasy value.

Scores 20-plus points again
Bane accumulated 23 points (6-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 9-10 FT), seven rebounds, four assists and one steal across 26 minutes during Wednesday's 111-91 loss to Houston.
ANALYSIS
With Ja Morant suspended, Bane has taken over as Memphis' primary offensive weapon and scored at least 20 points in 11 of his first 14 appearances this season. He's averaging a career-high 25.6 points, but more importantly, his shooting splits haven't taken a significant hit. His 46/37/87 splits are down compared to previous years, but not enough to override the increased offensive production.
Nov 20, 2023
Scores 30 in loss
Bane notched 30 points (11-27 FG, 7-14 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, eight assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Sunday's 102-100 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
This was the sixth game of the season with at least 30 points for Bane, and he also tied his season-high marks of eight assists and seven three-pointers. The Grizzlies are just 3-10 this season despite Bane's heroics, but his fantasy managers should be more than thrilled with the early returns.
Nov 19, 2023
Scores 26 in comeback win
Bane posted 26 points (8-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 7-7 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal in 34 minutes during Saturday's 120-108 win over San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
Bane has been a consistent 20-point scorer for the Grizzlies this season and has embraced the role of being the team's go-to scorer. Memphis has struggled badly this season but Bane has been a stud in fantasy of late, racking up 25 or more points in three of his last four contests. He's averaging 25.5 points per game in November.
Nov 15, 2023
Scores 15 points Tuesday
Bane notched 15 points (5-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound and five assists across 27 minutes during Tuesday's 134-107 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Bane was coming off 37-point and 27-point performances in his last two games, but he was unable to repeat that, as the Grizzlies struggled badly and suffered a 27-point defeat. Despite the team's well-known struggles, Bane continues to deliver decent numbers for the Grizzlies and is averaging a solid 25.5 points across 34.6 minutes per contest. His role as Memphis' primary scoring weapon, at least until Ja Morant (suspension) returns, is not under question.
Nov 12, 2023
Leading scorer in win
Bane registered 27 points (10-24 FG, 3-11 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six assists and four rebounds over 35 minutes in Sunday's 105-101 win over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Bane has led the Grizzlies in scoring in seven of their 10 games this season. He's taken over as the main scoring option with Ja Morant serving his 25-game suspension since the beginning of the season. Bane has now scored 25-plus points in four of his last five games and is averaging 27.2 points per game in November.
Nov 11, 2023
Big night in loss
Bane finished Friday's 127-121 loss to Utah with 37 points (14-28 FG, 7-13 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and one steal over 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane's 37 points and eight assists were season-highs, but the Grizzlies were unable to do enough to get the win despite his huge game. Memphis opted to go small and play the sharp shooter at small forward, which seemingly worked out on his end. The 25-year-old is averaging 26.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.0 blocks and 3.6 triples across 35.6 minutes this season.
Nov 9, 2023
Poor shooting display in loss
Bane closed with 15 points (4-16 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal over 36 minutes during Wednesday's 108-102 loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Bane saw the end of his five-game streak with at least 20 points after another abysmal shooting display, but even after missing 12 of his 16 shots, he still posted a decent stat line across the board. Bane is operating as Memphis' primary offensive weapon in the early stages of the season, and even though the team has been struggling, the numbers back him up. Through eight contests, Bane is averaging 25.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.
Nov 6, 2023
Drops 30 points in win
Bane ended Sunday's 112-100 victory over the Trail Blazers with 30 points (13-27 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and one steal across 34 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane has steadily improved as a scorer over his first four seasons in the league, and he's been prolific on the scoreboard to begin the 2023-24 campaign. He's scored at least 15 points in each of his first seven appearances of the season and has tallied 30-plus points on four occasions. The 25-year-old is now averaging 26.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals in 35.0 minutes per game this year.
Nov 4, 2023
Massive line in OT loss
Bane recorded 33 points (13-26 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 4-5 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists, three blocks and four steals across 45 minutes during Friday's 115-113 overtime loss to Portland.
ANALYSIS
The losses continue to pile up for the Grizzlies despite a spectacular run of games from Bane, who is averaging 26 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.2 blocks over the first six games. His 33 points also marked Bane's best scoring performance of the season.
Nov 2, 2023
Leads team with 21 points
Bane accumulated 21 points (7-19 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and one steal in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 133-109 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear who will get the short end of the stick when Ja Morant returns, but it's more likely that Marcus Smart will find himself on the bench, while Bane will retain his role. It took some time for Morant and Bane to gel last season, but they lasted most of the year as companions in the backcourt when Morant was healthy. Bane is aptly propping up the backcourt so far, with averages of 24.6 points and 5.2 assists through five games.
Oct 31, 2023
Has red-hot hand from field in loss
Bane totaled 30 points (12-17 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, three assists and three steals across 37 minutes during Monday's 125-110 loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Bane missed just five of his 17 shots from the field en route to tying for the team lead with 30 points. Aside from a 4-for-17 shooting performance last Friday against Denver, the guard has made at least half of his field-goal attempts in each of his appearances this season, and he continues to be one of the league's top shooters from deep with 3.3 triples per game. Bane is also averaging 2.0 steals per contest, and he would boost his already substantial fantasy value considerably if he could keep close to that place for the season.
Oct 29, 2023
Keeps strong start alive
Bane totaled 26 points (10-20 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal across 34 minutes during Saturday's 113-106 loss to Washington.
ANALYSIS
Marcus Smart has never been a player who can carry the offense regularly, which means Desmond Bane has emerged as the Grizzlies' primary scoring weapon with Ja Morant (suspension) set to remain sidelined for the next 22 games. Bane has scored at least 26 points in two of his first three contests this season and is averaging 24.0 points while shooting 42.4 percent from the field to start the campaign.
Oct 25, 2023
Leading scorer in loss
Bane registered 31 points (11-22 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five assists, five rebounds, two steals and one block over 36 minutes in Wednesday's 111-104 loss to the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Bane led the Grizzlies in field goal attempts and shots beyond the arc Wednesday, though he was much more efficient than most of his teammates. He accounted for five of the team's 12 three point makes on a night where Memphis shot just 27.9 percent from beyond the arc. Bane signed a five-year, $207 million contract extension in the offseason, and with Ja Morant suspended for the first 25 games of the season, the former will need to continue his scoring aggression until the All-Star point guard makes his return.
Oct 21, 2023
Leads Grizzlies in scoring
Bane posted 24 points (9-15 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds and five assists across 26 minutes in Friday's 124-116 preseason loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Bane has been the Grizzlies' standout performer in the preseason, and he delivered an impressive outing to show he's ready for the regular season. This is a positive development for both the Grizzlies and fantasy managers who drafted Bane in their leagues, as he will have an increased responsibility on offense while Ja Morant is suspended.
Oct 16, 2023
Top scorer in preseason defeat
Bane notched 26 points (8-17 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 6-8 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 25 minutes in Sunday's 132-124 loss to Miami.
ANALYSIS
Bane led all Grizzlies players in scoring while connecting on a team-high-tying mark from three in Sunday's preseason loss to Miami. Bane has been dominant for Memphis all preseason, averaging 21.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists over three games.
Oct 15, 2023
Back in action Sunday
Bane (rest) will start Sunday's game against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Bane took the night of Thursday, but he's back in the starting lineup Sunday. With Ja Morant suspended to start the year, Bane will likely operate as the Grizzlies' go-to playmaker to open the 2023-24 campaign.
Oct 12, 2023
Resting up Thursday
Bane is getting a night off for rest, Damichael Cole of Memphis News reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane has looked sharp in the preseason so far and is getting some maintenance to keep him fresh. In his two previous exhibitions, Bane averaged 19.0 points and 4.5 assists in 24.6 minutes per game.
Oct 11, 2023
Paces Grizzlies in victory
Bane finished with 21 points (8-14 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, five assists and a block across 26 minutes in Tuesday's 108-102 preseason win over the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Bane led the way for the Grizzlies and was one of five players who scored in double digits here. Given Ja Morant will miss the first 25 games of the 2023-24 regular season due to a suspension, Bane is expected to have a massive role on offense during the first weeks of the season, and that should translate to improved numbers, at least in that span. He averaged a career-best 21.5 points per game in 2022-23.
Oct 9, 2023
Scores 17 points in opener
Bane recorded 17 points (5-13 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one steal in 23 minutes during Sunday's 127-122 overtime win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Bane's overall numbers were solid, but he struggled from distance, committed three turnovers and was called for five fouls. It's not surprising to see the star wing shaking off some rust, especially given he's working his way back to full strength following offseason toe surgery. With Ja Morant suspended to start the year, the Grizzlies will need Bane healthy and at his best to begin the regular season.
Oct 2, 2023
Ready for camp
Bane is a full go for training camp, Drew Hill of the Daily Memphian reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane underwent surgery on his right big toe back in May, but his status for camp was never in any real danger. With Ja Morant serving a 25-game suspension, Bane will have increased playmaking opportunities to open the season.
Aug 3, 2023
Set to play in preseason
Bane (toe) said Thursday that expects to be a full-go for the preseason in the end of September, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane underwent surgery on his right big toe in May but is expected to be fully healthy for the 2023-24 campaign. With Ja Morant (suspension) out for the first 25 games of the season, the 25-year-old forward will likely be the focal point of Memphis' offense.
Jul 1, 2023
Signs massive extension
Bane agreed to a five-year, $207 million contract extension with the Grizzlies on Friday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies now have their core of Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Bane locked up to long-term deals. Bane has become an elite two-way wing, most recently averaging 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.9 three-pointers in 2022-23. With Morant suspended to start the season, we could see Bane take on an expanded role in the offense.
May 16, 2023
Undergoes successful surgery
Bane underwent a successful procedure Tuesday to address a fracture of the medial sesamoid bone in his right big toe and is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
ANALYSIS
Bane suffered the injury Nov. 11 against the Timberwolves and missed 17 straight games, but he returned to action Dec. 23 and played the rest of the season with minimal absences. Over his final 46 regular-season appearances, the 2020 first-round pick averaged 20.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 31.3 minutes per game. Bane's availability to start next season will be especially important given Ja Morant is likely facing a lengthy suspension to start the year.
Apr 29, 2023
Puts up 15 points with 16 shots
Bane notched 15 points (5-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 37 minutes during Friday's 125-85 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
Similar to what happened to several Memphis starters, Bane struggled in a game where the team needed him badly. In fact, this 15-point outing was his worst performance of the series, which was particularly surprising since he posted back-to-back 30-plus-point games in the past two outings. Bane averaged 23.5 points per game in the series.
Apr 26, 2023
Reaches 30 points again in victory
Bane posted 33 points (12-21 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 10 rebounds and five assists over 43 minutes during Wednesday's 116-99 victory over the Lakers in Game 5 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
Bane led the Grizzlies in scoring and threes made while posting a team-high-tying rebound total in a double-double showing Wednesday. Bane has tallied 30 or more points in two straight postseason appearances, hauling in at least 10 boards for the first time in the playoffs.
Apr 25, 2023
Pours in team-high 36 points
Bane chipped in 36 points (13-29 FG, 3-12 3Pt, 7-7 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and one steal over 47 minutes during Monday's 117-111 overtime loss to the Lakers in Game 4 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
Bane stepped up his offensive game Monday, doing all he could to get the Grizzlies over the line. Sadly, they fell short of the mark, leaving themselves in a 3-1 hole with the series now heading back to Memphis. Against a Lakers team that continues to improve, it is hard to see the Grizzlies winning three consecutive games. With that said, should they hope to do the improbable, Bane will need to continue to do some heavy lifting on the offensive end with Ja Morant still dealing with a wrist injury.
Apr 16, 2023
Struggles from deep in loss
Bane produced 22 points (6-18 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 7-7 FT), five rebounds and six assists across 37 minutes during Sunday's 128-112 loss to the Lakers in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
Bane finished second on the team in scoring behind Jaren Jackson (31), but he struggled to find any offensive rhythm and was inefficient from the field. If Ja Morant (wrist) has to miss any time, Bane would presumably be asked to step up as Memphis' go-to playmaker.
Apr 15, 2023
Clears injury report
Bane (knee) will play in Game 1 of the Western Conference First Round versus the Lakers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Bane was one of several Grizzlies' rotation players to sit out the regular-season finale but is good to go for their playoff opener. He should be expected to retake his spot in the starting lineup and handle a full workload Sunday. In three games against the Lakers this season, Bane averaged 13.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.7 steals over 32.7 minutes.
Apr 9, 2023
Out of season finale
Bane (knee) is out of Sunday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Bane is among several starters that won't see action Sunday, as the Grizzlies decided to rest their entire first unit in a meaningless regular-season game. Bane ends the campaign averaging a career-high 21.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game across 58 games, all as a starter.
Apr 8, 2023
Unlikely to play Sunday
Bane (left knee soreness) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Bane is one of seven Grizzlies players to be tabbed doubtful for Sunday's regular-season finale, a game with little meaning considering Memphis is locked into the No. 2 seed for the playoffs. Fantasy managers should check back in closer to tipoff for a better idea of what the Grizzlies' rotation will look like.
Apr 6, 2023
Scores 24, fouls out
Bane fouled out of Wednesday's 138-131 overtime loss to the Pelicans after recording 24 points (9-21 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds, five assists and one steal across 43 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane could not finish the game due to foul trouble. Still, fantasy managers should be delighted with his contributions, as the former TCU standout has taken an enormous leap offensively this season. He's ending the regular season strongly after scoring at least 20 points in his past eight outings.
Apr 5, 2023
Pops for game-high 30 points
Bane had 30 points (12-22 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one block across 36 minutes during Tuesday's 119-109 win over Portland.
ANALYSIS
Bane led all scorers with 30 points and notched his eighth 30-plus-point game of the season. Over his past seven contests, the third-year shooting guard has averaged 24.9 points, 5.1 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 33.1 minutes per game with 55/46/88 shooting splits during that stretch.
Apr 2, 2023
Tops 20 points again
Bane finished Sunday's 128-107 loss to the Bulls with 21 points (8-12 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one block in 33 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane has gone over the 20-point plateau in six straight games, his longest streak of the season. Bane has shot well from three, hitting 48.6 percent of his shots beyond the arc, and at the free throw line, knocking down 91.7 percent of his freebies. The 24-year-old has provided a nice boost in efficiency for fantasy managers. Plus his assists have ticked up to 5.2 per game in this stretch. As long as Memphis isn't resting him, Bane should finish the season strong.
Apr 1, 2023
Nears double-double Friday
Bane finished with 22 points (9-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, nine assists and three steals over 38 minutes during Friday's 108-94 victory over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Bane returned to action following a one-game absence due to rest and a nagging foot injury, but he looked impressive here and came up one assist short of recording what would've been his first double-double since Jan. 4. Bane has been on a tear of late and has scored at least 20 points in each of his last five appearances, averaging 24.6 points while shooting 54.3 percent from the field in that span.
Mar 30, 2023
Will face Clippers
Bane (foot) will suit up for Friday's clash against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Bane and a handful of teammates rested during Wednesday's loss to the Clippers, but he'll return for Friday's rematch. Bane has reached double digits in scoring over the past 11 games, averaging 22.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.1 steals during this stretch.
Mar 29, 2023
Out Wednesday
Bane (foot) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Bane will be joining Jaren Jackson (calf), Tyus Jones (foot) and John Konchar (hip) on the sidelines for Wednesday's game, which should result in some extended minutes for Luke Kennard and David Roddy. Bane's next chance to play will come in a rematch with the Clippers on Friday.
Mar 29, 2023
Doubtful Wednesday
Bane is doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Clippers due to right foot soreness.
ANALYSIS
Bane has been productive recently, posting 20-plus points in six of his last seven appearances. However, the Grizzlies will likely sit several players for the second half of a back-to-back set Wednesday, and Bane isn't expected to suit up. Luke Kennard, David Roddy and Dillon Brooks are candidates to see increased run against the Clippers.
Mar 24, 2023
Scores 25 in 20 minutes
Bane chipped in 25 points (10-13 FG, 5-7 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 20 minutes during Friday's 151-114 victory over Houston.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies poured in 151 points against the Rockets, the second highest amount in franchise history (152). Bane and Luke Kennard caught fire from beyond the arc, combining for 15 three-pointers. Bane has been outstanding over the past five games for Memphis and for fantasy managers, averaging 21.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 2.6 triples.
Mar 23, 2023
Dishes out seven assists Wednesday
Bane finished Wednesday's 130-125 win over the Rockets with 20 points (6-13 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven assists, three rebounds and one steal in 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Even with Ja Morant playing 24 minutes off the bench in his return from a nine-game absence due to a suspension and for conditioning purposes, Bane was able to retain a key playmaking role. He tied with starting point guard Tyus Jones for the team lead in assists, though both Bane and Jones are likely to notice some downturn in the category once Morant steps back into the starting five and reclaims his usual minutes. Bane averaged 5.1 assists while Morant was sidelined the past nine games, after previously averaging 4.0 per game for the season prior that stretch.
Mar 18, 2023
Fills stat sheet Friday
Bane posted 21 points (10-22 FG, 1-5 3Pt), eight rebounds, seven assists, one block and three steals across 39 minutes during Friday's 126-120 overtime victory over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Bane wasn't efficient from the field and needed 22 shots to score 21 points, but he still provided a strong fantasy line and tons of value due to his peripheral stats. Bane has scored at least 20 points in four of his last five games and is averaging 20.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game across nine March contests.
Mar 15, 2023
Ejected Wednesday
Bane was ejected Wednesday after committing a Flagrant 2 foul, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane was called for the penalty after hitting Kevin Love below the belt in the third quarter. He will exit the contest with 11 points (4-11 FG), four rebounds, three assists, one steal and five turnovers across 22 minutes of play. Fantasy managers can expect Bane to be back in action Friday in San Antonio.
Mar 14, 2023
Thriving as playmaker sans Morant
Bane finished Monday's 104-88 win over the Mavericks with 23 points (7-13 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 6-7 FT), eight rebounds and seven assists in 29 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane has now accrued at least five assists in six straight games, exceeding his season-long average (4.3 per game) on every occasion. The increased assists production comes as little surprise with Ja Morant (suspension/personal) sitting out the last five of those contests, and even though Tyus Jones has averaged 7.8 dimes per game of his own since entering the starting lineup as a replacement at point guard, the loss of Morant has still left some vacated usage on offense that has been absorbed by Bane. Morant is without a clear timeline to rejoin the team, so look for Bane to continue enjoying an uptick in his overall production for the foreseeable future.
Mar 12, 2023
Game-high 25 points in win
Bane chipped in 25 points (8-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT), seven rebounds and eight assists in 35 minutes during Saturday's 112-108 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Bane had it going early, knocking down six of nine field goal attempts in the first half for 17 points to go along with four rebounds and four assists. He was far less effective in the second half, however, going just 2-of-7 from the field and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line for another eight points as Memphis held off the Mavericks at home. Despite his second-half struggles, Bane still finished with a game-high 25 points on the night and trailed only Tyus Jones for the game high in assists with eight. The shooting guard has scored at least 25 points in three of his last six contests, while the eight dimes were the most he's recorded in a game since Jan. 8 against Utah.
Mar 6, 2023
Scores team-high 30 points
Bane finished with 30 points (12-22 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, six assists and one block over 35 minutes during Sunday's 135-129 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
with Ja Morant (suspension) absent, multiple players needed to step up, and Bane certainly delivered. Sunday's total marked Bane's second 30-point game over the past week. As long as Morant is absent, we should see more totals in that range.
Mar 2, 2023
Pops for 30 points
Bane provided 30 points (12-17 FG, 6-9 3Pt), nine rebounds, six assists and one block across 29 minutes during Wednesday's 113-99 win over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Bane was lights out en route to his first 30-point game since Nov. 9 and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, falling one short of his second double-double of the campaign. Since the start of February (11 appearances), the third-year shooting guard has averaged 20.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals in 30.9 minutes per game. During that stretch, he's shooting 50.9 percent from the field and 41.6 percent from deep.
Feb 24, 2023
Strong showing in loss
Bane logged 25 points (10-20 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds and two assists over 32 minutes during Thursday's 110-105 loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Bane looked sharp coming out of the break by shooting 50.0 percent from the field and leading his team in scoring. He's now scored 20 or more points in three of his last four contests, averaging 21.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.3 steals over this stretch.
Feb 16, 2023
Nets 24 points in win
Bane finished Wednesday's 117-111 win over the Jazz with 24 points (9-20 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one steal across 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
With Ja Morant (20 points on 8-for-26 shooting from the field) enduring a rough night, Bane and Jaren Jackson (26 points) picked up the slack and helped lead Memphis to the win column. The stat line was one that is becoming fairly standard for the third-year wing, who heads into the All-Star break with season-long averages of 21.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 3.0 triples and 1.0 steals in 31.2 minutes per contest.
Feb 12, 2023
Hits for 18 in Sunday's loss
Bane closed with 18 points (7-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and one steal over 34 minutes during Sunday's 119-109 loss to Boston.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old guard continues to provide steady secondary scoring for the Grizzlies. Bane has scored at least 14 points in 20 straight games, averaging 20.3 points, 5.0 boards, 4.2 assists, 2.8 threes and 1.3 steals over that stretch.
Feb 11, 2023
Productive outing in win Friday
Bane closed Friday's 128-107 win over Minnesota with 20 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-7 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and three steals across 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane reached the 20-point mark for the third time in five games since returning from a two-game absence due to a knee injury, but given how good he's been all season long, that should be the standard for him right now. The shooting guard is averaging 21.3 points per game while shooting 50.4 percent from the field since the start of January.

Scores 17 against Chicago
Bane ended with 17 points (6-12 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals over 35 minutes during Tuesday's 104-89 victory over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Bane has scored at least 17 points in each of his four appearances since returning from a two-game absence in late January, and the star shooting guard remains a consistent scoring threat in the backcourt alongside Ja Morant. Even though at times he's been the third-best scoring weapon behind Morant and Jaren Jackson, Bane continues to have a career-best season with averages of 21.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game since the start of January.
Feb 6, 2023
Impressive showing in losing effort
Bane finished Sunday's 106-103 loss to the Raptors with 26 points (10-17 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four assists, four steals, two rebounds and one block in 33 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Though he fell 12 points short of matching his season-high scoring total, Bane might have turned in his best overall fantasy line of the campaign thanks to the immense production in the two defensive categories. After missing two straight games to close out Week 15 due to a sore right knee, Bane proceeded to play in all three of the Grizzlies' Week 16 contests and averaged 22.7 points, 4.0 three-pointers, 2.7 assists, 1.7 steals, 1.3 assists and 0.7 blocks in 30.3 minutes while shooting 52.1 percent from the field.
Feb 1, 2023
Good to go Wednesday
Bane (knee) will take the floor Wednesday against the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Initially labeled questionable, it appears Bane's knee is doing well enough for him to return following a two-game absence. The 2020 first-round pick notched at least 20 points in six of the last seven games prior to his absence and will aim to get back on that path against a Portland club that ranks fifth-worst in the league in defensive efficiency.
Jan 31, 2023
Questionable for Wednesday
Bane (knee) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against Portland.
ANALYSIS
The third-year wing has already missed the last two games with soreness in his right knee, so his status will be worth monitoring closely as the Grizz head into a Wednesday/Thursday back-to-back set. Bane, of course, missed significant time earlier this season due to a toe injury, but he returned to action on Dec. 23 and went on to appear in 16 of Memphis' next 18 games prior to this latest two-game absence. Over his last 10 contests (Jan. 8 through Jan. 25), Bane averaged 21.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 3.1 made threes (50.8% 3Pt).
Jan 29, 2023
Won't play Sunday
Bane (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Bane was doubtful ahead of Sunday's game and will officially be forced to miss a second consecutive matchup. However, coach Taylor Jenkins said Sunday that Bane is day-to-day and is expected back at some point this week, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports. Ziaire Williams will likely draw another start Sunday.
Jan 28, 2023
Unlikely to play Sunday
Bane (knee) is doubtful for Sunday's matchup against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Bane is expected to sit out a second straight game due to right knee soreness. Ziaire Williams started in his stead during Friday's loss to the Timberwolves and should be expected to do so again Sunday with John Konchar (concussion) still out.
Jan 27, 2023
Out Friday
Bane (knee) is out Friday against the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Bane will miss his first game since Jan. 5, and he's been on a heater over his past 10 contests, averaging 21.6 points on 50/51/83 shooting, 5.2 boards, 5.0 assists and 1.1 steals. In his absence, with John Konchar (concussion) also out, more minutes could be in store for Ziaire Williams, David Roddy and Tyus Jones.
Jan 26, 2023
Questionable vs. Wolves
Bane is questionable for Friday's game against the Timberwolves due to right knee soreness.
ANALYSIS
Bane's streak of 10 straight appearances may end Friday. After initially struggling during his return from a toe injury, the guard has picked it up during this recent stretch, averaging 21.6 points on 50/51/83 shooting, 5.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.1 steals in 30.8 minutes. If he's out, more minutes may be in store for Dillon Brooks, Ziaire Williams and Tyus Jones.
Jan 24, 2023
Paces Grizz with 21 points
Bane recorded 21 points (9-13 FG, 3-4 3Pt), four rebounds, five assists and one steal across 29 minutes during Monday's 133-100 loss to Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Memphis played without Ja Morant (hamstring) on Monday, making Bane the team's primary offensive weapon. It was somewhat surprising then that Bane took only 13 shots -- below his season average of 16.4 -- but he was efficient with his attempts, making nine buckets and going 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. The third-year guard is averaging a career-best 21.7 points per game on the campaign and has scored over 20 points in five of his past six contests.
Jan 23, 2023
Balanced performance Sunday
Bane contributed 24 points (9-19 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT), eight rebounds, six assists and one steal across 34 minutes during Sunday's 112-110 loss to Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Bane continues to look better with each passing game, scoring at least 20 points for the fourth time in his past five games. The points are always going to be there for Bane, although it has been his assist numbers that have been more intriguing. He has at least six dimes in three of his previous four games, a part of his game that is becoming more consistent. He is basically locked in as a top-40 talent ROS, right where he was being drafted.
Jan 18, 2023
Stays hot in win
Bane recorded 25 points (8-17 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one steal in 32 minutes during Wednesday's 115-114 win over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Bane's 25 points led the Grizzlies Wednesday, besting backfield mate Ja Morant by one point. He has now hit the 25-point mark in three consecutive games, is shooting 56 percent from behind the ark, and has been perfect from the charity stripe, over that stretch.
Jan 17, 2023
Nearly perfect from field Monday
Bane accumulated 28 points (10-12 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds, six assists and two steals across 27 minutes during Monday's 136-106 win over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Ja Morant led the Grizzlies in scoring, but Bane was extremely efficient since he only missed two shots from the field en route to his best scoring output since Nov. 9, when he recorded 32 points in a win over the Spurs on Nov. 9. Bane is averaging 21.5 points per game while shooting 51.6 percent from the field across six games in January.
Jan 15, 2023
Drops 25 points, hits five threes
Bane provided 25 points (10-19 FG, 5-11 3Pt), eight rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 29 minutes during Saturday's 130-112 victory over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Bane was solid all night, knocking down five of nine field goal attempts for 12 points in the first half before adding another 13 points after the break on 5-of-10 shooting as the Grizzlies cruised to their ninth consecutive win. The shooting guard added eight boards and also connected on a game-high five three-pointers in the contest. He's now shooting 52.9 percent from beyond the arc through five games to start this month, though he's attempted just one free throw over his last three.
Jan 9, 2023
Hands out nine helpers in victory
Bane contributed 24 points (8-18 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds, nine assists, one block and two steals over 31 minutes during Sunday's 123-118 victory over Utah.
ANALYSIS
Bane assumed more of a facilitation role Sunday, filling some of the void left by a thigh injury to Ja Morant. Not only were the nine assists a season-high for Bane, but the 24 points are also the highest he has scored since returning from a lengthy injury layoff. The Grizzlies play again on Monday, and while Bane appears to be fully healthy, he could very well be given the night off as part of his management plan.
Jan 7, 2023
Off injury report
Bane (toe) is off the injury report for Sunday's game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
After a one-game absence for right toe injury management, Bane will return. Since initially returning from the injury, he's averaged 15.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 26.3 minutes across six games. He's shot just 36.0 percent from the field and 21.1 percent from deep during this stretch.
Jan 5, 2023
Won't play Thursday
Bane has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Magic due to right toe injury management.
ANALYSIS
Bane recorded a double-double during Wednesday's win over the Hornets, posting 19 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and a steal in 26 minutes, but he'll be sidelined for the second time in the last three games. Tyus Jones and John Konchar will likely see increased run in the Grizzlies' backcourt.
Jan 5, 2023
Double-double in return
Bane racked up 19 points (8-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists and one steal in 26 minutes during Wednesday's 131-107 victory over Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out the second game of a back-to-back New Year's Day as a precaution, Bane was back in the starting five and recorded his first double-double of the season. The toe injury that cost him 17 games at the end of 2022 doesn't appear to be an issue any longer, and after needing a couple contests to shake off the rust, he's averaging 17.7 points, 7.7 boards, 2.7 assists, 2.0 threes and 1.3 steals over his last three games.
Jan 4, 2023
Returns to starting lineup
Bane will start Wednesday's game against the Hornets, Rob Fischer of Bally Sports Southeast reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane will return to the starting lineup following a one-game absence due to right big toe injury management. Over his past five appearances, he's averaged 14.8 points while shooting just 32.9 percent from the field.
Jan 3, 2023
Not listed on injury report
Bane isn't listed on the injury report for Wednesday's matchup against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Bane was sidelined for Sunday's game against the Kings while resting a right big toe injury, which cost him over a month of action earlier in the year. However, it appears the third-year wing will be back in the mix Wednesday following his one-game absence. Before resting Sunday, Bane had averaged 14.8 points on 32.9 percent shooting over his previous five appearances, so fantasy managers should be hopeful the night off will help him break out of his recent shooting slump.
Jan 1, 2023
Won't play Sunday
Bane will miss Sunday's game versus the Kings due to injury management of his right big toe.
ANALYSIS
Bane has appeared in five straight contests since returning from his big toe injury, but it appears he'll give the injury a rest on the second night of a back-to-back set. Bane figures to be back in the lineup Wednesday against the Hornets.
Dec 26, 2022
Struggles Christmas Day
Bane provided nine points (2-13 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds and one block over 24 minutes during Sunday's 123-109 loss to Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Bane failed to convert on a three-point shot or record an assist for the first time in 14 games this season. He appears to still be under a minutes restriction, as he's played 24 minutes in back-to-back games since returning from his toe injury. Bane will likely be a productive fantasy player once he returns to his normal workload.
Dec 24, 2022
Puts up 17 points in return
Bane racked up 17 points (4-13 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 7-7 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal across 24 minutes during Friday's 125-100 victory over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Bane missed Memphis' 17 games prior to Friday while recovering from a sprained toe, so it's not a big surprise that he struggled to find his shot in his return. However, he still finished third on the team with 17 points thanks in part to a perfect 7-for-7 mark from the charity stripe. Bane played a modest 24 minutes, though it's worth noting that no Grizzlies player logged more than 28 minutes in the blowout win. Bane will likely work his way closer to his season average of 32.8 minutes per contest as he puts the toe injury further behind him.
Dec 23, 2022
Will play under minutes restriction
Bane (toe) is available for Friday's matchup against the Suns, but he'll be under a minutes restriction, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane has been sidelined since Nov. 11 due to a toe injury, but he'll make his return to game action Friday. Given he'll be under a minutes restriction, it may be difficult for Bane to garner enough usage to submit his usual prolific production. Before his lengthy absence, Bane posted 24.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists across his first 12 appearances.
Dec 23, 2022
Participates in shootaround
Bane (toe) participated in Friday's shootaround, Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane remains questionable for Friday's game against the Suns, but it's encouraging that he was able to take part in the Grizzlies' morning shootaround. Memphis announced in early December that Bane was expected to miss 3-to-4 more weeks, so if he's able to suit up Friday, he'd beat the early end of his recovery timetable by approximately a week. Since he hasn't played since Nov. 11, it wouldn't be surprising to see him face a minutes restriction if he's cleared to play against Phoenix.
Dec 22, 2022
Possibility of playing Friday
Bane (toe) is questionable for Friday's game against Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Bane was slated to miss 3-to-4 more weeks on Dec. 7, putting his potential return Friday on at the early end of the timetable. Although his questionable status is certainly encouraging, Bane should be expected to be under heavy restrictions once he steps onto the court considering the nature of the injury and his nearly six-week absence. His return would hamper the opportunities of Dillon Brooks, John Konchar, David Roddy and Ziaire Williams.
Dec 7, 2022
Will miss 3-4 weeks
Bane (toe) will miss another three-to-four weeks.
ANALYSIS
Although his rehab is going along smoothly and he has resumed light practice work with the team, Bane is slated to miss almost another month. The guard is working his way back from a Grade 2 right big toe sprain which he suffered Nov. 11 against the Timberwolves. In the meantime, John Konchar will presumably continue to start in place of Bane.
Nov 29, 2022
Out of boot, still working back
Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said Monday that Bane (toe) is no longer in a walking boot and has resumed doing light work with the team's staff, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane seems to be making progress from the Grade 2 right big toe sprain he suffered Nov. 11, but since he has yet to advance to any full-contact, full-court work in practice, he's likely at least a week or more away from returning to the Memphis lineup. Dillon Brooks should continue to enjoy a heightened role as a scorer on the wing alongside point guard Ja Morant while Bane remains out. Bane's ongoing absence will also leave more minutes available for John Konchar, who profiles as more of an all-around fantasy contributor than Brooks, who brings most of his value in the points and three-pointers categories.
Nov 15, 2022
Sidelined 2-3 weeks
Bane suffered a Grade 2 sprain of his right big toe Nov. 11 versus Minnesota and will be sidelined for 2-to-3 weeks.
ANALYSIS
Bane's absence will leave a major void in Memphis' scoring department -- he's averaging 24.7 points per contest on the season. He's also been a key floor spacer for the Grizzlies, shooting a career-best 45.1 percent from long range through the first 12 games. John Konchar joined the starting five in Bane's absence Sunday and may remain in that role, but Konchar is far from the real-life or fantasy scorer Bane can be.
Nov 14, 2022
Doubtful Tuesday
Bane (toe) is doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Bane was sidelined Sunday against Washington, and it seems unlikely that he'll be able to return to the court against New Orleans. Assuming he's out, John Konchar should continue to see increased playing time for Memphis.
Nov 13, 2022
Won't play Sunday
Bane (toe) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Washington, Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane was initially listed as doubtful for Sunday's matchup, so it's not surprising to see him ruled out. Ja Morant (ankle) is also out, so Tyus Jones, John Konchar and Dillon Brooks are all candidates for increased roles against the Wizards.
Nov 12, 2022
Doubtful Sunday
Bane is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Wizards due to right toe soreness.
ANALYSIS
Bane is joined by Ja Morant (ankle) and Jaren Jackson (Foot) as doubtful for the contest, leaving the Grizzlies potentially thin in the backcourt. However, this is Bane's first appearance on the injury report due to the toe issue, which could be a point of optimism in the otherwise bleak situation.
Nov 12, 2022
It's a breakout
Bane finished Friday's 114-103 win over Minnesota with 24 points (7-16 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 8-8 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one steal across 33 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane is averaging 24.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists this season. He aligned with those averages Friday. Bane's assist production, as well as his 4.8 free-throws per game, mark giant leaps from his 2021-22 campaign. He's blossoming into a well-rounded star.
Nov 10, 2022
Lights it up from deep
Bane provided 32 points (12-23 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds and six assists over 39 minutes during Wednesday's 124-122 overtime victory over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Bane finished with his second-highest scoring outing of the season, leading Memphis in scoring with a team-high five threes. Wednesday's outing was the first of the season where Bane has recorded at least 30 points, five assists and five rebounds this year.
Nov 6, 2022
Another strong showing
Bane closed Sunday's 103-97 win over the Wizards with 28 points (9-16 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one steal over 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane shot well from the field in this one, especially when firing from downtown. He's now 12-for-23 from beyond the arc in November (three games) and has piled up 19 or more points in each of those contests. Bane, Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks should continue to lead the Memphis scoring attack as the season unfolds.
Nov 3, 2022
Leads Memphis with 29 points
Bane closed with 29 points (7-16 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 10-11 FT), eight rebounds and five assists across 37 minutes during Wednesday's 111-106 win over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Bane returned from a one-game absence due to an ankle injury and shot an efficient 5-for-8 from three-point range but made only two of eight attempts from inside the arc. The guard also teased a double-double with eight boards and chipped in five assists. Bane has knocked down multiple triples in each of his seven contests this season and ranks fourth in the league with 30 converted three-pointers overall.
Nov 2, 2022
Set to return Wednesday
Bane (ankle) is available for Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Bane missed Monday's loss to the Jazz due to right ankle soreness, but he'll be back in action for Wednesday's tilt with Portland. He figures to rejoin the starting lineup following the one-game absence, shifting John Konchar to the bench. Through the first six games, Bane averaged 24.2 points, 5.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds across 33.0 minutes per contest.
Nov 1, 2022
Questionable vs. Blazers
Bane (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's game at Portland.
ANALYSIS
Bane sat out Monday's game against the Jazz, prompting John Konchar to start. The situation could repeat itself Wednesday.
Oct 31, 2022
Out Monday
Bane (ankle) will miss Monday's contest against the Jazz, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
ANALYSIS
The TCU product will officially miss his first game of the season as he tends to an ankle injury. John Konchar and David Roddy both emerge as candidates to receive additional opportunities. Bane's next chance to return comes Wednesday against the Trail Blazers.
Oct 31, 2022
Questionable for Monday's contest
Bane is questionable for Monday's game against the Jazz due to right ankle soreness.
ANALYSIS
The severity of the ankle issue remains unclear, but Bane may be in danger of missing his first game of the season. Ja Morant (illness) is also questionable, so Memphis may be without either of its starting guards against Utah.
Oct 28, 2022
Continues scoring barrage
Bane posted 31 points (11-18 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds and four assists in Thursday's 125-110 win over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Not only did Bane lead both teams in scoring, but he posted his second consecutive 30-point scoring game. After scoring under 20 points in each of his first three games, Bane has found his touch from three, shooting 46.8 percent on 9.4 attempts through five games.
Oct 25, 2022
Goes off for 38 points
Bane totaled 38 points (14-21 FG, 8-11 3Pt, 2-3 FT), one rebound, seven assists, one block and one steal across 32 minutes during Monday's 134-124 victory over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Bane caught fire from three-point range in the win, hitting a career-best eight of 11 shots from deep. He finished with 38 points -- also a career high -- and also tied his season-high mark with seven assists. Half of Bane's point production came in an explosive third quarter during which he drained five triples. This was a promising bounce-back performance from the sharpshooter after he shot just 26.5 percent from the field through his first three contests of the campaign.
Oct 22, 2022
Shooting woes surface again
Bane accumulated 14 points (3-16 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 33 minutes during Friday's 129-122 win over Houston.
ANALYSIS
The fact that Bane needed 16 shots just to score 14 points is disappointing, and even though the final stat line was solid with the six boards and seven dimes, there's no question he needs to improve his efficiency. Bane has started the first two games of the season and is averaging 15.0 points per game, but he's also shooting a meager 23.7 percent from the field and 26.1 percent from deep.
Oct 19, 2022
Fourth-year option picked up
The Grizzlies exercised Bane's fourth-year option Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Bane will be due $3.85 million in 2023-24, the final season of his rookie deal after he entered the NBA as the No. 30 overall pick in the 2020 draft. He emerged as a full-time starter in 2021-22 while averaging 18.8 points, 4.4 assists, 3.0 treys, 2.7 assists and 1.2 steals in 29.8 minutes per contest over 76 appearances. Barring a dramatic step back in performance during the upcoming season, the 24-year-old will be a prime candidate for an extension ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
Oct 11, 2022
Drops 33 points in loss
Bane tallied 33 points (11-18 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT), two rebounds, an assist, two steals and a block in 32 minutes in Tuesday's 109-105 loss in Orlando.
ANALYSIS
Bane did his best work in the second and fourth quarters, scoring 13 points in the second and 10 points in the fourth. It was his best offensive performance of the preseason and his 33 points exceeded his combined total in the other two contests. The 24-year-old was a bit rusty in his first two preseason games, making just 10 of his 24 shot attempts and going 1-for-12 from beyond the arc, but Tuesday's performance was a reminder of what he can do when he's on his game.
Oct 8, 2022
Looks good despite loss Friday
Bane finished with 17 points (5-11 Fg, 1-7 3Pt, 6-7 FT), four assists, two rebounds and one steal in 28 minutes during Friday's preseason loss to Miami.
ANALYSIS
Bane was far from spectacular during the loss but still did enough to provide confidence to those hoping to roster him this season. After a breakout campaign in 2021-22, Bane's draft position has been open for debate thus far this preseason. While he is almost certainly not going to take any major leaps forward, his floor is safe enough to warrant a pick in the middle rounds of drafts.
Oct 3, 2022
Plans to play Monday
Bane said he plans to play in Monday's preseason game against the Magic, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane was sidelined for Saturday's exhibition game against the Bucks, along with the majority of the Grizzlies' starters, but he'll make his preseason debut Monday. It's unclear how many minutes he'll play, but he's expected to be full go for the regular season.
Oct 3, 2022
Plans to play Monday
Bane said he plans to play in Monday's preseason game against the Magic, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane was sidelined for Saturday's exhibition game against the Bucks, along with most of the Grizzlies' starters, but he'll make his preseason debut Monday. It's unclear how many minutes he'll play, but he's expected to be full go for the regular season.
Oct 1, 2022
Out Friday
Bane (undisclosed) will miss Friday's preseason game against the Bucks, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane is not expected to miss any regular season action, despite being out tonight. This is likely just a case of the Grizzlies resting their starters in certain preseason games.

Out Saturday
Bane (undisclosed) will miss Saturday's preseason game against the Bucks, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane is not expected to miss any regular-season action, despite being out Saturday. This is likely just a case of the Grizzlies resting their starters in certain preseason games.
May 14, 2022
Scores 25 in loss
Bane put up 25 points (9-16 FG, 4-7 3PT, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and one block in Friday's 110-96 loss to Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Bane scored 21-plus points in back to back games on a combined 53.6 percent shooting from the field and 61.5 percent from deep. The second-year guard nearly doubled his points per game average from his rookie year and looks to only be getting better.
May 12, 2022
Racks up 21 points in Game 5 rout
Bane accumulated 21 points (6-12 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), one rebound, two assists and one steal over 24 minutes during Wednesday's 134-95 victory over Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Bane was one of three Memphis players to tie for the team lead with 21 points as the Grizzlies cruised to a 39-point win. The scoring total was Bane's highest so far in the series and marked only the second time he has finished with double-digit points. Bane came up huge for Memphis in the first round against Minnesota, averaging 23.5 points per game on 50 percent shooting. He'll likely need to come closer to that level of production moving forward if Memphis is to complete a comeback in the series against the Warriors.
May 4, 2022
Fails to gain traction in win
Bane chipped in five points (2-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt), six rebounds and one assist over 32 minutes during Tuesday's 106-101 win over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Bane couldn't get anything going in Game 2, a stark contrast from his previous stat lines during the playoffs. The Warriors seem to have Bane's number as he posted his second-straight single-digit scoring total. The last time Bane scored in single digits prior to the series with the Warriors was in late February, While these totals can be considered outliers, early metrics seem to indicate that the TCU product is facing some issues with the Warriors' backcourt defense.
May 3, 2022
Good to go Tuesday
Bane (back) is available for Tuesday's Game 2 against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Bane is coming off a poor Game 1, where he shot 3-for-10 from the field and registered only nine points. He'll look to get back on track as the Grizzlies hope to avoid going down 2-0 at home to start the series.
May 2, 2022
Listed questionable with sore back
Bane is listed as questionable for Tuesday's Game 2 against the Warriors due to a sore lower back.
ANALYSIS
The hope is that Bane's addition to the injury report is simply precautionary, but his status will be worth monitoring closely over the next 24 hours. The second-year guard had easily his worst game of the postseason thus far in Game 1, finishing with just nine points (3-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and two steals in 32 minutes of action.
Apr 27, 2022
Goes for 25 points in win
Bane notched 25 points (9-20 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, one assist, three blocks and two steals across 45 minutes during Tuesday's 111-109 win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Ja Morant might have grabbed most of the headlines after hitting the game-winning shot in a 30-point performance, but Bane can't be overlooked after reaching the 25-point threshold for the third game in a row. In fact, Bane has scored at least 15 points in every game of the series. He's averaging 23.6 points per game in the series while shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 46.8 percent from three-point range.

Leads Grizz in comeback win
Bane supplied 26 points (8-19 FG, 7-15 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal over 40 minutes during Thursday's 104-95 victory over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
The second-year guard paced the Grizzlies in scoring on a night in which they overcame a 26-point deficit to take a 2-1 lead in the series. Bane is coming off a breakout regular season and hasn't slowed down in the postseason, averaging 19.7 points, 4.3 boards, 3.7 threes, 2.3 assists and 1.0 blocks over three games against Minnesota.
Apr 10, 2022
Will suit up, not expected to play
Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said Bane (foot) will dress but likely won't play Sunday against the Celtics, Meghan Triplett of GrindCityMedia.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear if the Grizzlies will issue an official update to Bane's status before tip, but for the time being it looks like he'll technically be on the active list, but Jenkins implied pregame neither Clarke nor Desmond Bane are likely to enter the game unless it's an emergency situation. Expect De'Anthony Melton, John Konchar and Ziaire Williams to benefit from Bane's expected absence.
Apr 10, 2022
Questionable for Sunday's contest
Bane is questionable for Sunday's game against the Celtics due to left foot soreness.
ANALYSIS
It wouldn't be surprising to see Bane ruled out eventually, as Memphis is already resting a majority of its regulars. However, if he's available, he'll likely garner an increased role during the regular-season finale.
Apr 8, 2022
Leads Grizz with 14 points
Bane amassed 14 points (5-11 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists and three steals in 22 minutes during Thursday's 122-109 loss to Denver.
ANALYSIS
Bane was by no means prolific with his scoring Thursday, but his output was enough to lead his team in the uncharacteristically uncompetitive loss. The TCU product registered double-digit points for his 16th straight game, and he has knocked down multiple three-pointers in each game during that span. Over that stretch, he is shooting 51.8 percent from beyond the arc.
Apr 4, 2022
Absent from injury report
Bane (ankle) isn't listed on the injury report for Tuesday's game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Bane was unavailable for Friday's win over the Suns with ankle soreness, but it appears he'll return to the court for Tuesday's contest. The 23-year-old has averaged 22.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.0 steals in 28.8 minutes over his last five games.
Apr 1, 2022
Unavailable Friday
Bane (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Bane will be unable to play through his sore left ankle Friday as the Grizzlies will be very shorthanded against the Suns. Ziaire Williams will draw the start.
Mar 31, 2022
Doubtful Friday
Bane is doubtful Friday against the Suns due to left ankle soreness.
ANALYSIS
Bane is one of four starters expected to take a seat Friday. De'Anthony Melton, John Konchar and Kyle Anderson figure to see extra run on the wing.
Mar 29, 2022
Leads Memphis in rout
Bane logged 22 points (7-15 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two rebounds, three assists and two steals over 27 minutes during Monday's 123-95 win over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
The Warriors played without a slew of regulars Monday, and Memphis built a 26-point lead at halftime. As a result, no Grizzlies player exceeded Bane's 27 minutes, and the shooting guard finished as the team's leading scorer with 22 points. Bane has scored 20-plus points in 10 of 13 games during March and is averaging 21.5 points, 4.7 boards, 3.8 assists, 3.8 three-pointers and 1.3 steals during the month. He is shooting a standout 51.5 percent from beyond the arc over that stretch.
Mar 25, 2022
Leads Grizzlies sans Morant
Bane logged 30 points (12-15 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, five assists and one block over 24 minutes during Thursday's 133-103 win over Indiana.
ANALYSIS
Memphis took the court without leading scorer Ja Morant (knee), but Bane filled in admirably on offense to help lead the team to a blowout victory. The second-year guard paced the Grizzlies in scoring and finished with his first 30-point performance since Feb. 16. Bane has scored at least 20 points in five of his past six contests and has knocked down at least three three-pointers in every game during that span. His role on offense should increase down the stretch with Morant expected to miss most or all of the remainder of the regular season.
Mar 24, 2022
Continues strong play
Bane posted 23 points (8-17 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, five assists and one steal in 32 minutes during Wednesday's 132-120 victory over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Bane scored 20-plus points for the seventh time over his past nine appearances. During that stretch, he's averaged 21.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.3 steals in 29.2 minutes per game. He'll look to maintain his strong play against the Pacers on Thursday.
Mar 20, 2022
Exceeds as lead guard
Bane amassed 24 points (8-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and three steals in 32 minutes during Sunday's 122-98 win over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
With Ja Morant (knee soreness) out Sunday, Bane stepped into a larger role and co-led Memphis in assists, as well as plus-minus with a plus-24. Bane has now knocked down three-plus triples in four consecutive contests and is one of the most sound, versatile rising assets in fantasy.
Mar 19, 2022
Scores 15 points Friday
Bane ended with 15 points (5-14 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal in 31 minutes during Friday's 120-105 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Bane needed 14 shots to score 15 points and was particularly woeful from three-point range, but he still ended as one of Memphis' best players in a game where the entire offense seemed to struggle. Bane has now scored 15 or more points in seven of his last eight contests.
Mar 15, 2022
Continues strong play
Bane finished with 21 points (7-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals in 23 minutes during Tuesday's 135-102 win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Bane has played well all season but is running white-hot from beyond arc lately. In the six games prior to Tuesday's performance, he was shooting 48.9 percent from distance, and his effort against the Pacers will increase that mark. He also took on more playmaking responsibilities in Ja Morant's (back) absence, coming up with at least six assists for the fifth time this season.
Mar 14, 2022
Puts up 21 with eight boards
Bane chipped in 21 points (7-15 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal in 31 minutes during Sunday's 125-118 win over the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Bane had an impressive performance and was one of the Grizzlies' leading scorers in this tougher-than-expected win over a struggling Thunder team, but he delivered in other categories as well since he ended just two boards away from posting what would've been his first double-double of the season. Bane is fully entrenched as one of Memphis' go-to players on offense and has scored at least 20 points in four of his last five games.
Mar 7, 2022
Fires up with team-high 28 points
Bane contributed 28 points (11-22 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals over 36 minutes during Sunday's 123-112 loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
After a stretch of poor shooting, Bane has now put together a pair of strong performances, going for 24 and 28 points respectively. Enough can't be said about the steps forward Bane has been able to take this season, lifting his scoring from 9.2 to 17.8 points per game. The impending return of Dillon Brooks could complicate matters somewhat but to be honest, Bane has done more than enough to was must-roster status no matter what happens.
Mar 6, 2022
Racks up 24 points in easy win
Bane had 24 points (10-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes during Saturday's 124-96 victory over the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Bane rode an efficient shooting night to his highest scoring total in five games. The second-year guard trailed Ja Morant by only one point for team high-scoring honors in the win, and he did not commit any turnovers. Bane has gone 8-for-16 from three-point range over his past two contests.
Mar 3, 2022
Does damage from three
Bane amassed 17 points (6-14 FG, 5-10 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist and one steal over 34 minutes during Thursday's 120-107 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Bane found his touch from deep in this one, doing nearly all of his scoring from three in Boston. He also had one of his best nights on the glass in nearly a month, as he'd been held to six boards or fewer in his last eight contests. Bane did struggle in the scoring department near the end of February, managing to score over 14 points just once in his last five games of the month, but his 17-point performance Thursday evening is certainly a reassuring sign for fantasy managers.
Feb 27, 2022
Struggles from field in win
Bane fouled out of Saturday's 116-110 win over the Bulls after recording 12 points (4-18 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two rebounds, five assists and one steal across 28 minutes.
ANALYSIS
While Bane has scored in double digits in six straight games for the Grizzlies, this wasn't one of his finest performances. He needed 18 shots just to score 12 points, and in fact, he hasn't cleared the 15-point mark in three of his last six appearances. That's not bad by any means and his role as one of the best scoring threats for the Grizzlies is very much alive, though it is a worrying trend for someone who was averaging 18.1 points per game until the end of January. In comparison, he's only putting up 15.4 points while shooting 34.9 percent from the field across nine games in February.
Feb 19, 2022
Solid production for Team Isiah
Bane managed 13 points (4-13 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three assists, one rebound and one block across both legs of the Rising Stars competition at All-Star Weekend.
ANALYSIS
Bane was one of three players for Team Isiah to score in double figures in the first leg of the new format, but he struggled in the championship round. Overall, the second-year wing out of TCU was efficient from the field but was still one of the more productive players in the tournament.
Feb 17, 2022
Lands career-high seven triples
Bane ended Wednesday's 123-119 loss to the Trail Blazers with 30 points (9-19 FG, 7-12 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal over 36 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Bane was one of only three Grizzlies players to score in double figures during Wednesday's disappointing loss, erupting from beyond the perimeter, nailing a career-high seven triples. Bane has been a revelation this season, from both a reality and a fantasy perspective. Despite being available towards the backend of most drafts, he has been a solid mid-round performer all the way. He has established himself as a key piece in the rotation and should be able to maintain his current production, despite the impending return of Dillon Brooks.
Feb 13, 2022
Drops 25 with four steals
Bane logged 25 points (7-13 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 7-7 FT), four rebounds, five assists, one block and four steals in 32 minutes during Saturday's 125-118 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
The 2020 first-round pick continues to look like one of the bigger draft steals of the last few years. He had a pair of down games in wins over Orlando and the Clippers earlier in the week, but Bane has now scored 22 and 25 points, respectively, over the last two contests. On the year, he's up to 17.8 points and 2.8 made threes per game with a fantastic 46/42/90 shooting line.
Feb 11, 2022
Molded by darkness
Bane chipped in 22 points (7-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six rebounds and two assists over 28 minutes during Thursday's 132-107 win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Bane emerged from an ugly drought Thursday, returning to his strong scoring ways. In three games prior, Bane had connected on just 9-of-39 shots (23.1 percent). Recent struggles aside, Memphis is on a four-game win streak and Bane is set to compete in the upcoming All-Star Three-Point Contest. The 23-year-old continues to be a revelation for the Grizzlies.
Feb 3, 2022
Inefficient, but productive
Bane logged 13 points (4-18 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 120-108 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Bane struggled with his shot after exploding for a career-high 34 points during Monday's overtime loss to Philadelphia. Despite the inefficient shooting, the second-year wing still made multiple threes for a fourth straight game. He also registered multiple steals and blocks in the same contest for the first time this season. Bane is in the midst of the breakout season and is averaging 18.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals in 30.2 minutes. He'll look to continue his strong play Saturday in Orlando.
Feb 1, 2022
Goes for career-high 34
Bane amassed 34 points (12-21 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and three steals over 39 minutes during Monday's 122-119 overtime loss to Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
While the Grizzlies couldn't pull through in overtime on the road, it was another stellar night for Bane, who continues to look like a monster steal late in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft. In four games since returning from COVID-19 protocols, Bane is up to 22.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.5 threes in 32.8 minutes.
Jan 27, 2022
Returns to action with 20 points
Bane registered 20 points (7-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one steal over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 118-110 win over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Bane was a game-time call but ended up logging 33 minutes in the game and turned in an excellent shooting performance. Bane vaulted into a starting job after a utility role in his rookie season, and despite some injury issues, he's taken full advantage of his increased opportunity. Over 46 contests, the former first-round pick is averaging 17.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He's also largely mistake-free, averaging only 1.5 turnovers per game.
Jan 26, 2022
Cleared to play Wednesday
Bane (COVID-19 protocols) is available for Wednesday's game at San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
Bane was considered questionable and will retake the court after missing three games due to the COVID-19 health and safety protocols. The 23-year-old missed exactly a week and could have some minor workload limitations in his first game back for Memphis.
Jan 25, 2022
Questionable Wednesday
Bane (COVID-19 protocols) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Bane missed three games while in protocols. He reportedly cleared protocols, but there are seemingly still some concerns regarding his conditioning. In the six games before his absence, the second-year wing averaged 19.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals in 29.5 minutes.
Jan 25, 2022
Clears COVID-19 protocols
Bane cleared the NBA's health and safety protocols Tuesday, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane missed three games while in protocols, but barring his conditioning, he will be available to return for Wednesday's contest against the Spurs. In the six games before his absence, the two-year wing averaged 19.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals in 29.5 minutes.
Jan 18, 2022
Enters COVID-19 protocols
Bane entered the COVID-19 protocols and won't play Wednesday against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Bane has missed only one game this season but is now set to be sidelined until he clears the league's health and safety protocols. De'Anthony Melton and John Konchar should be more involved for Memphis, especially with Kyle Anderson also entering the protocols.
Jan 14, 2022
Season-high four steals
Bane accumulated 21 points (5-12 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 9-9 FT), three rebounds, two assists and four steals over 32 minutes during Thursday's 116-108 win over Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Bane struggled from distance but still scored at least 20 points for the third time in his last four games thanks to a season-high nine trips to the free-throw line. The second-year pro also added a season-high four steals during the win and continues to play at a high level while the Grizzlies are without Dillon Brooks (ankle).
Jan 9, 2022
Active vs. Lakers
Bane (quad) will be available for Sunday's game against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
All three of Bane, Ja Morant and Desmond Bane will be available as the Grizzlies look to sweep the Los Angeles teams after taking down the Clippers on Saturday night. Bane finished that game with 23 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and five three-pointers in 29 minutes.
Jan 9, 2022
Questionable with quad issue
Bane is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lakers with left quadriceps soreness.
ANALYSIS
Bane returned from a one-game absence due to the quad issue Saturday and delivered 23 points (9-15 FG, 5-8 3Pt), seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block in 29 minutes versus the Clippers, but he's not fully past the injury. Even if available he could face some limitations in the second half of a back-to-back set.
Jan 8, 2022
Great two-way effort in win
Bane posted 23 points (9-15 FG, 5-8 3Pt), seven rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals across 29 minutes during Saturday's 123-108 victory over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Bane saw increased usage with Ja Morant (thigh) out and Dillon Brooks suffering an ankle injury during the game. He continues to put together a breakout campaign. The performance marks his 11th with at least 23 points.
Jan 8, 2022
Available Saturday
Bane (quadriceps) is available for Saturday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Bane will be back in action Saturday following a one-game absence due to a quadriceps injury. He's averaged 21.8 points and 5.0 rebounds in 34.1 minutes per game across his last eight appearances.
Jan 7, 2022
Questionable against Clippers
Bane (quadriceps) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Bane missed Thursday's game against Detroit due to a quadriceps issue but has a chance to return Saturday. De'Anthony Melton and Ziaire Williams could see increased run if Bane remains out.
Jan 6, 2022
Out Thursday
Bane (quadriceps) is out for Thursday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Bane is dealing with a quadricep issue and will sit out for the first time this season. Ziaire Williams is drawing the start in his place and is likely to see extended opportunities along with De'Anthony Melton. Bane's next chance to play will come on Saturday against the Clippers.
Jan 5, 2022
Likely out Thursday
Bane is doubtful for Thursday's game against the Pistons with left quadriceps soreness.
ANALYSIS
The 2020 first-round pick has started all 39 games for Memphis so far this season, but he's headed for his first absence Thursday. Bane's expected absence could be mitigated if Dillon Brooks and De'Anthony Melton, who are both considered questionable, are cleared to return from the COVID-19 protocols.
Jan 3, 2022
Flirts with double-double
Bane produced 29 points (12-23 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 0-1 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and two steals across 37 minutes during Monday's 118-104 victory over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Bane has now knocked down four or more triples in three of his last five contests, hitting 19 of 45 attempts from deep over that stretch. He's also come up with his best scoring performance of the season of late, pouring in 32 points Dec. 27 against the Suns. He's shown no signs of slowing down heading into the new calendar year.
Dec 30, 2021
Reaches 20-point mark again
Bane produced 20 points (6-18 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 104-99 win over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Bane didn't have his best shooting effort and was particularly woeful from deep, but he managed to reach the 20-point plateau for the third straight contest -- and for the fourth time over his last five outings. One of the leading candidates to win the Most Improved Player of the Year award, the second-year guard has experienced a considerable uptick in his scoring figures this season and is averaging 17.3 points per game on the year after scoring just 9.2 points per tilt as a rookie.
Dec 28, 2021
Explodes for season-best 32 points
Bane chipped in 32 points (12-22 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 37 minutes during Monday's 114-113 victory over Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
De'Anthony Melton's (COVID-19 Protocols) absence led to Bane leading the team in court time with 37 minutes on the floor. The guard had his best game of the season by a wide margin, and his fantasy value should skyrocket amid Memphis' slew of absences.
Dec 16, 2021
Efficient performance in win
Bane chipped in 23 points (8-13 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and four assists across 30 minutes during Wednesday's 113-103 win over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Bane has settled as a starter for Memphis this season, but his scoring figures have been excellent of late with 14 or more points in six of his last seven contests. In fact, the former TCU standout has recorded at least 20 points in three games in that span. He's undoubtedly having a career-best season with 16.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
Dec 13, 2021
Ready to play Monday
Bane (foot) is available for Monday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Bane was considered a game-time decision due to left foot soreness, but he's been cleared to take the court after going through a pre-game workout. The 2020 first-round pick has averaged 21.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 steals in 32.2 minutes over the past five games.
Dec 13, 2021
Questionable Monday
Bane is questionable for Monday's game against the 76ers due to left foot soreness.
ANALYSIS
Bane was a late addition to the Grizzlies' injury report Monday and could test his foot issue during pregame warmups. If he's unable to play, John Konchar and De'Anthony Melton should see increased playing time.
Dec 12, 2021
Scores 19 against Rockets
Bane provided 19 points (7-18 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 31 minutes during Saturday's 113-106 win over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Bane wasn't exactly an efficient shooter in this one, but he still managed to deliver strong scoring figures. He's now scored at least 19 points in four of his last five games and has drained at least three treys four times during that span as well. Through six games in December, Bane is averaging 18.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Dec 10, 2021
Posts 23 points Thursday
Bane provided 23 points (9-20 FG, 5-11 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals in 31 minutes during Thursday's 108-95 win over Los Angeles.
ANALYSIS
Bane trailed only Jaren Jackson Jr. for top-scoring honors among Grizz players, and he logged his third performance of 20-plus points in his past four games. The second-year guard's scoring came largely by way of the deep ball, as he tied his season high with five three-pointers. Bane's counting stats -- 16.3 points, 4.3 boards, 2.1 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.4 blocks and 2.6 three-pointers per game -- have all improved over his rookie numbers.
Dec 6, 2021
Fantastic showing Monday
Bane produced 21 points (7-15 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals over 31 minutes during Monday's 105-90 win over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Bane continued his trend of 20-point outings with another fantastic showing in Monday's win. The second-year guard reached the 20-point mark for a third time over his past four matchups, as Bane has accomplished the feat a total of seven times so far this year. The TCU product previously recorded 20 points in just three different outings last season. Also, Bane grabbed at least eight rebounds for a second consecutive game, as the guard is currently averaging a career-best 4.3 rebounds per outing.
Dec 5, 2021
Shines with 29-point effort
Bane supplied 29 points (12-20 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 34 minutes during Saturday's 97-90 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Bane has been a starter all season long for the Grizzlies and continues to shine, as he's now scored at least 18 points in three of his last four contests. The 29-point output represents a season-high mark for him, and he continues to deliver strong performances in what has been a career-best season so far for the second-year guard. He's averaging 15.9 points per game.
Dec 1, 2021
Continues performing
Bane scored 23 points (8-16 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-3 FT), adding on seven rebounds, two assists and a block Tuesday, as the Grizzlies beat the Raptors 98-91.
ANALYSIS
Bane has now scored at least 18 points in five of his last six games. He and Tyus Jones (2-10 FG) are splitting the void of Ja Morant, with Bane looking like the significantly better contributor. The 23-year-old TCU product is worth adding in standard leagues if managers have the roster spot.
Nov 23, 2021
Posts career-best 28 points
Bane accumulated 28 points (12-20 FG, 4-8 3Pt), four rebounds, four assists and two steals over 34 minutes during Monday's 119-118 win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
The 28 points were a career high for the second-year guard, and Bane knocked down four triples for the second straight game. The big effort gave him 20-plus points in consecutive contests for the first time this season. Prior to the strong two-game stretch, Bane had failed to reach the 20-point mark in 14 straight games.
Nov 21, 2021
Leads Memphis scorers in big loss
Bane amassed 21 points (6-13 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 5-6 FT) and five rebounds across 25 minutes during Saturday's 138-95 loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
There were few highlights for the Grizzlies in the embarrassing loss, but Bane at least managed to put together a strong scoring effort and knock down four three-pointers. The shooting guard has registered double-digit points in all but two contests this season, helping him raise his overall scoring average to 14.8 points per game -- up from 9.2 during his rookie campaign.
Nov 18, 2021
Bounces back with well-rounded line
Bane had 16 points (7-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt), five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 29 minutes during Thursday's 120-108 victory over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Bane walked away from Thursday's win with his most productive line in almost two weeks. The return of Dillon Brooks has certainly impacted Bane's path to minutes, although, he has still been able to hold onto his starting position. While the upside is not what it was earlier in the season, Bane remains a viable 12-team asset, as evidenced by this performance.
Nov 13, 2021
Shooting struggles continue in loss
Bane had just nine points (4-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt), eight rebounds, two blocks and one assist in 24 minutes during Friday's 119-94 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Bane has fallen off a cliff in recent times, in stark contrast to the way he started the season. He managed to salvage his night with eight boards and a pair of blocks but that certainly doesn't hide the fact he is struggling with his shot. He appears locked in as the starter and so he could absolutely turn it around in the near future. If you are holding him in a standard league, you really have only two options. You can either hold on and hope he gets going or drop him to waivers and let someone else deal with his inconsistencies.
Nov 3, 2021
Records 16 points Wednesday
Bane mustered 16 points (6-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three assists, two rebounds and one steal in Wednesday's win over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
The former TCU standout continues to provide consistent offense at the small-forward position for the Grizzlies this year, as this was Bane's eighth straight outing in double figures offensively. Bane is currently averaging 17.5 points which is on pace to shatter his rookie mark of 9.2 points per matchup. It was also Bane's fifth outing in which he converted at least three threes.

Drains five threes in OT win
Bane recorded 19 points (7-16 FG, 5-11 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists and a steal across 38 minutes in Thursday's 104-101 OT win over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
The temporary loss of Dillon Brooks was expected to sting for Memphis, but the excellent play of Bane and De'Amthony Melton has been an excellent remedy. Although both players have turned in standout performances over the past two weeks, Bane has taken a clear lead in production between the two. He showed no signs of fatigue in the back-to-back. As long as Brooks is out, Bane should be rostered in all but the shallowest of fantasy leagues.

Paces Grizz in scoring Wednesday
Bane tallied 19 points (7-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one blocked shot over 23 minutes Wednesday in a loss to Portland.
ANALYSIS
Only two players -- Bane and Ja Morant -- scored in double figures for Memphis in the contest, with Bane's point total exceeding Morant's by two. The Grizzlies shot only 36.5 percent from the field as a team, making Bane's 7-for-12 mark particularly impressive. He is off to a strong start to his sophomore NBA campaign, posting per-game averages of 19.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 3.0 three-pointers through four contests.
Oct 21, 2021
Great showing in opener
Bane scored 22 points (8-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT) to go along with three rebounds, three assists and two steals across 30 minutes of the season-opening win over the Cavaliers on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Bane put on an incredible performance in the season-opener matching his career high in points while also making an impact defensively. If Bane continues to get this amount of offensive opportunities, he can drastically improve from his production last year when he scored 9.2 points per game as a rookie.
Oct 20, 2021
Receives starting nod
Bane is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers, Rob Fischer of Fox Sports Southeast reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane started 17 of 68 games as a rookie for the Grizzlies last year, and he'll open the 2021-22 campaign as a member of the starting five. The 23-year-old averaged 9.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 22.3 minutes last season while shooting 46.9 percent from the field and 43.2 percent from deep, and he should have the chance to secure a bigger workload this year.
Oct 12, 2021
Resting Wednesday
Bane will rest during Wednesday's preseason game against Indiana.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies are resting most of their key players during this matchup including Bane, Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson. Expect the guard to return to the lineup Friday against Chicago.
May 11, 2021
Back in starting lineup
Bane will start Tuesday's game against the Mavericks, Evan Barnes of the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
With Grayson Allen (abdomen), Jaren Jackson (rest) and Jonas Valanciunas (back) all sidelined, the Grizzlies will be without three regular starters. Coach Taylor Jenkins will shuffle the deck and roll with Bane at shooting guard alongside Ja Morant. Xavier Tillman will move into the lineup at center.
May 8, 2021
Coming off bench
Bane will come off the bench Saturday against the Raptors, Rob Fischer of Fox Sports Southeast reports.
ANALYSIS
With Jaren Jackson making his first start of the season, Bane will be moved to the bench while Kyle Anderson is shifted down to the three and Dillon Brooks starts at the two. In 47 appearances off the bench, Bane has averaged 9.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 21.8 minutes.
May 6, 2021
Will start for Allen
Bane will start Thursday's game against Detroit, Meghan Triplett of Grind City Media reports.
ANALYSIS
With Grayson Allen (abdominal) ruled out, Bane will fill in at shooting guard, as he did for two games last week. Bane struggled in those starts (11 points in 51 total minutes), but he's coming off of a pair of 22-point efforts off the bench. He finished Monday's loss to New York with 22 points, eight boards, three steals and two assists before following up with 22 points, four rebounds and three assists against Minnesota on Wednesday night.
May 6, 2021
Starting Thursday
Bane will start Thursday's contest against the Pistons, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
ANALYSIS
With Grayson Allen (abdomen) sidelined, Bane will make the start at shooting guard. In 14 previous starts this season, Bane has averaged 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 24.1 minutes.
May 5, 2021
Scores 22 off bench
Bane registered 22 points (8-14 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 139-135 win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
The 22-year-old has now scored 20-plus points in two straight games, a span in which he's averaging 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 three-pointers, 2.5 steals and 1.5 steals in 28.6 minutes. With Grayson Allen leaving Wednesday's game due to an abdominal strain, Bane could see increased run if the former is forced to miss any time with the injury.
May 3, 2021
Impressive off bench
Bane recorded 22 points (9-13 FG, 4-7 3Pt), eight rebounds, three steals and two assists across 26 minutes off the bench in Monday's loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Bane moved back to the bench with Grayson Allen (hand) returning to the starting lineup, but the first-round pick delivered his best performance of the season despite the limited role. Bane recorded season-high marks in points and rebounds while also tying his season-best output in steals.
May 3, 2021
Back in bench role
Bane isn't starting Monday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Bane will head back to the bench following the return of Grayson Allen, who had been sidelined with a hand injury. Bane is averaging 4.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in his last five games as a reserve (18.6 minutes).
Apr 30, 2021
Starting Friday
Bane is starting Friday's game against the Magic, Rob Fischer of Fox Sports Southeast reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane will replace Jaren Jackson (knee) in the lineup for the first half of the back-to-back set against Orlando on Friday. Bane has averaged 4.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 18.6 minutes per game across the last five contests.
Apr 25, 2021
Quiet in 18 minutes
Bane had two points (1-2 FG), three rebounds and four assists in Sunday's win over Portland.
ANALYSIS
The rookie is capable of flashing for standout performances from time to time, but he was mostly invisible during his 18 minutes Sunday. As long as he continues to split time with De'Anthony Melton and Grayson Allen, all three players' fantasy ceilings will remain fairly limited.
Apr 21, 2021
Shifts to bench
Bane will come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Rob Fischer of Fox Sports Southeast reports.
ANALYSIS
With Dillon Brooks returning to the lineup after a one-game absence, Bane will shift back to a bench role. The rookie is averaging 9.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 22.3 minutes per game this season, while also shooting 46 percent from three-point range.
Apr 19, 2021
Enters starting five
Bane is starting Monday's game against the Nuggets, Harrison Wind of TheDNVR.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bane will draw the spot start with Dillon Brooks (thigh) ruled out. The TCU product is averaging 10.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists over 10 games off the bench in April (21.6 minutes).
Apr 18, 2021
Sparks bench in win over Bucks
Bane finished Saturday night's win over Milwaukee with 16 points (6-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six assists and four rebounds.
ANALYSIS
The rookie has mostly taken a backseat to Grayson Allen of late, but both players had big nights Saturday, combining for 42 points and 10 made three-pointers. Bane's six assists established a new career best.
Apr 10, 2021
Leads bench in Friday's loss
Bane scored 16 points (6-9 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-3 FT) while adding five rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes off the bench during Friday's 133-129 overtime loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
The rookie continues to provide a spark for the Grizzlies, and Bane was the only member of the second unit to score in double digits or drain a three-pointer. He isn't seeing consistent enough minutes to be an asset in most season-long formats, but Bane has demonstrated he has the upside to carry some DFS intrigue.
Apr 7, 2021
Pops for 15 off bench
Bane scored 15 points (6-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt) while adding three rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block in 22 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's win over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
The rookie continues to show flashes of his upside, scoring in double digits five times in the last 10 games and leading the Grizzlies' second unit in scoring Tuesday. Over that stretch, Bane is averaging 10.0 points, 3.9 boards, 1.8 assists, 1.8 threes and 0.7 steals in 22.7 minutes, numbers that won't be on the radar in most re-draft formats but which give him value in dynasty leagues.
Mar 31, 2021
Starting vs. Jazz
Bane will start in Wednesday's game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Bane will replace Grayson Allen (hip) in the Grizzlies' starting lineup Wednesday. The 22-year-old is averaging 9.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game this season, while also shooting 45.8% from the three-point arc. He should see plenty of run with the Grizzlies' first unit as long as Allen remains sidelined.
Mar 30, 2021
Provides spark in win Monday
Bane posted 17 points (7-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt), four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block through 28 minutes in the 120-110 win against Houston on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Bane has seen a dramatic drop in his production since he reverted back to a bench role. Over the last eight games, he has only scored in double figures twice and averaged 8.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 19.2 minutes. On the whole, the rookie has been a pleasant surprise, but he's not worth rostering in standards leagues right now.
Mar 23, 2021
Scores 13 in overtime win
Bane scored 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt) and added three rebounds in a 132-126 victory over the Celtics on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Bane was very efficient from both the field and from three in Memphis' overtime win. The guard has been solid since returning to a bench role four games ago, scoring at least eight points and making multiple threes in each contest. Bane has been the most reliable shooter off the Grizzlies bench this season, shooting a team-high 48.9 percent from distance in games he doesn't start.
Mar 17, 2021
Moves to bench Wednesday
Bane will come off the bench Wednesday versus the Heat, Evan Barnes of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
ANALYSIS
The 22-year-old started the past seven games but will shift to the bench after putting up zero points (0-3 3Pt) one rebound and one assist in 22 minutes Monday at Phoenix. Bane should still be involved off the bench while Grayson Allen joins the starting five.
Mar 11, 2021
Hits season-high five threes
Bane scored 20 points (7-13 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT) with four rebounds, one assist and one steal in a 127-112 victory over the Wizards on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Bane got another start with Grayson Allen (concussion) out of the lineup and scored a new season high point total. The guard was very involved in the offensive game plan, as he attempted the third most shots on the team which also happened to be a season high for Bane. In seven starts this season, Bane has averaged 12.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
Mar 1, 2021
Productive in spot start
Bane amassed 15 points (6-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, three steals, one assist and one block in 28 minutes during Sunday's 133-84 victory over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Bane moved into the starting lineup with Grayson Allen (concussion) ruled out. He certainly made the most of his opportunity and helped lead the Grizzlies to their biggest win of the season. Bane has proved the ability to be a fantasy contributor when he is afforded significant playing time and there is certainly a case to be made for him sticking with the opening five. However, that seems unlikely at this point and so his value is almost certainly going to be short-lived.
Feb 28, 2021
In starting five Sunday
Bane will start Sunday's game against the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
With Grayson Allen (concussion) ruled out, the Grizzlies will roll with the rookie at the other guard spot next to Ja Morant. It will be the fourth start of the season for Bane, who's played at least 20 minutes in each of the last 13 contests.
Feb 22, 2021
Solid performance off bench
Bane had 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and two rebounds across 23 minutes off the bench in Monday's loss against the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Bane has been a regular scoring threat off the bench for the Grizzlies, as he has scored in double digits in 10 of his last 12 appearances. His upside is hard-capped due to the fact that he regularly plays under 30 minutes and routinely comes off the bench, but he can be a valuable streaming alternative on most nights due to his scoring ability.
Feb 20, 2021
Starting vs. Suns
Bane will start Saturday's game against the Suns, Rob Fischer of Fox Sports Southeast reports.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies have an extensive injury report, which will force Bane into the starting five. In his previous two starts this season, he has averaged 15.5 points, 2.5 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 26.0 minutes.
Feb 20, 2021
Plays off bench in return
Bane (personal) played 25 minutes and compiled 10 points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two steals and one assist Friday in the Grizzlies' 109-95 win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Before missing the Grizzlies' most recent four games to tend to a personal matter, Bane had drawn two straight starts, logging 26 minutes in both of those outings. While his playing time was similar in his return to action Friday, Bane moved to the bench while Grayson Allen maintained his spot in the starting five. Allen endured a rough night from the field (six points on 2-for-8 shooting), so it wouldn't be surprising if Bane re-entered the starting five for the second half of the Grizzlies' back-to-back set Saturday versus Phoenix.
Feb 18, 2021
Not on injury report
Bane (personal) isn't on the injury report for Friday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Bane missed the last four games for a personal matter, but he should return to action Friday. With Dillon Brooks (thigh) and De'Anthony Melton (shoulder) questionable for the matchup against Detroit, Bane could see an increased role for Memphis on Friday.
Feb 17, 2021
Ruled out Wednesday
Bane (personal) will not play in Wednesday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
A personal matter will keep Bane sidelined for a fourth consecutive game. With De'Anthony Melton (shoulder) also sidelined, expect Grayson Allen to continue holding onto a larger role.
Feb 15, 2021
Still out Tuesday
Bane (personal) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Bane will be unavailable for the third straight game due to a personal issue. Grayson Allen and John Konchar should continue to have increased roles for the Grizzlies.
Feb 13, 2021
Out Sunday
Bane (personal) will not play Sunday against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
A personal issue will cause Bane to miss a second straight game. In his absence, John Konchar and Grayson Allen could again see expanded roles.
Feb 11, 2021
Won't play Friday
Bane (personal) will not play Friday against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Bane is set to miss his first game of the season due to personal reasons. The 22-year-old had been playing well of late, scoring in double figures in eight of the last nine games. John Konchar could see increased minutes with Bane sidelined.
Feb 11, 2021
Keeps shooting well in starting role
Bane tallied a career-high 18 points (6-11 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT) to go with two assists, two steals and one rebound across 26 minutes Wednesday in the Grizzlies' 130-114 win over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
With Brandon Clarke (calf) out of the lineup again, Bane picked up a second straight start on the wing while Kyle Anderson shifted up to power forward. Bane was one several Grizzlies to catch fire from distance, as Memphis poured in a franchise-record 23 treys to end its four-game losing streak. At least in Bane's case, the efficient shooting from downtown wasn't out of the ordinary. Through his first 20 NBA games, Bane is converting on 48.2 percent of his 4.3 three-point attempts per contest.
Feb 8, 2021
Drawing first NBA start
Bane will start Monday's game against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Memphis will elect to switch up their starting five by throwing Bane into the mix, taking the place of the injured Brandon Clarke (calf). Gorgui Dieng made the spot start for Clarke on Saturday but will head to the bench for Monday's contest.
Feb 5, 2021
Team-high 16 points from bench
Bane recorded 16 points (5-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), three assists, a rebound, a steal and a blocked shot across 27 minutes in Thursday's 115-103 loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Bane got an increased run when Dillon Brooks got into foul trouble and generated an encouraging result in the loss. Getting significant time will be a challenge for the rookie due to the logjam of guards on the depth chart, but since the team's return to action, the TCU product has averaged 24 minutes on the court.
Feb 3, 2021
Ties season high with 16 points
Bane had 16 points (6-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five assists and three rebounds during Tuesday's 134-116 loss to the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Memphis went into halftime trailing by 21 points, and the rookie first-round pick ended up playing the third most minutes on the team. Bane has reached double figures in five consecutive contests and is 12-for-20 on three-point attempts during that stretch.
Jan 28, 2021
Holding steady role off bench
Bane is averaging 8.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 0.6 steals over the last five games.
ANALYSIS
Bane continues to be among the surprises of the 2020 rookie class, and he's been a nice addition to the Grizzlies' bench unit. He has six double-digit scoring games on the year, topping out with 16 points in 32 minutes back on Dec. 30 against the Celtics. He's hitting 1.8 three-pointers per game at a 48.9 percent clip.
Jan 3, 2021
Records 13 points in loss
Bane scored 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 0-1 FT) to go with two assists, one rebound and one steal across 21 minutes in a 108-94 loss to the Lakers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Bane scored eight points in the first half on 3-for-4 shooting in the opening quarter. The young guard has averaged 13.0 points per game in his last three since Ja Morant went down with an ankle injury last week, shooting 48.4 percent from the field. Bane made quick work in his time on the court, playing the least amount of minutes since opening night when the rookie played just 11 minutes. The 22-year-old saw scattered minutes the rest of the contest, finding some playing time in the third quarter, but residing on the bench until the game was out of reach for Memphis in the fourth.
Dec 30, 2020
Nets 16 in loss
Bane scored 16 points (6-11 FG, 3-6 3PT, 1-1 FT) to go with four rebounds and one steal across 32 minutes in a 126-107 loss to Boston on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Bane did the bulk of his damage in the fourth, scoring nine points in the closing quarter as the game was already out of reach for Memphis The rookie showed promise as a bench guard in the preseason, averaging 9.3 points in 20.8 minutes per game in four showings. But with Ja Morant set to miss some time with an ankle injury, along with guard Grayson Allen going down Wednesday, Bane wil see more action than anticipated at the start of the season.
Dec 17, 2020
Continues strong preseason play
Bane compiled 10 points (4-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists, a steal and a blocked shot across 22 minutes in Thursday's 128-106 win over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies put their first-round pick to work right away in the preseason, and he's now logged two encouraging stints off the bench. The 6-6 TCU product is stuck behind Dillon Brooks on the depth chart, but he has enough size and speed to compete for a spot at the wing, where he has a better shot at significant contribution in his rookie season.
Dec 13, 2020
Scores 12 in preseason debut
Bane registered 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds and two assists across 22 minutes off the bench during Saturday's preseason win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Bane was Memphis' lone pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and the rookie certainly made his presence felt in the preseason opener. He has a crowded path at consistent playing time with Dillon Brooks, De'Anthony Melton and Grayson Allen at shooting guard, but a strong preseason could bump him up on the depth chart. Saturday's game was certainly a step in the right direction.
