It was another fairly quiet offensive performance from Bane, who has just 35 points total in his last three games -- less than the 37 he dropped in back-to-back contests on the Pistons and Bulls on Nov. 28 and Dec. 1. The Magic saw Jalen Suggs (leg) and Franz Wagner (lower leg) leave Sunday's game early however, and if either or both of those injuries prove to be serious, Bane's usage could skyrocket. He's scored in double digits in 13 of the last 14 games, averaging 21.1 points, 4.7 assists, 4.5 boards, 1.9 threes and 0.9 steals over that stretch.

Bane has been shooting the lights out over the past two games, going 25-for-42 from the field while amassing 74 total points. The Magic have now won three in a row, and six of their past seven games, and Bane is a big reason why they've managed to stay afloat despite not having Paolo Banchero (groin). Orlando will seek their fourth straight victory Wednesday against the Spurs.

While he hasn't been extremely efficient of late, the 27-year-old swingman has scored at least 23 points in three of his last four outings.

Bane accumulated 19 points (7-18 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and two assists across 40 minutes during Friday's 105-98 victory over the Nets.

Bane found success from beyond the arc Friday, drilling three triples for a second straight game. Despite a strong performance against Brooklyn, he entered the day hitting at an unimpressive 30.2 percent from downtown through 12 appearances this season, which is down substantially from the 39.2 percent he hit at through 69 games a year ago with Memphis. The good news is that Bane will continue to be asked to put up shots for the Magic as the season rolls on, giving him plenty of opportunities to get back on track.

With the 27-year-old swingman unavailable, Anthony Black and Jase Richardson are candidates for increased minutes the rest of the way.

Bane finished in single digits for the second straight game Saturday, though it didn't impact the Magic's dominant win. Acquired from the Grizzlies this offseason to bolster perimeter scoring, the sharpshooting guard has struggled to find his rhythm, connecting on just 25.8 percent of his attempts from deep. Through seven games, the 27-year-old is averaging 14.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists -- all notable declines from his 2024-25 production.

Bane fouled out for the first time in two years Monday, and he definitely picked up some frustration fouls along the way, as he was perturbed by Tyrese Maxey getting the better of him all game long. He also struggled from distance, which has been a team-wide trend for Orlando over the past two, with the Magic converting just 22.4 percent of their three-point looks. They'll simply need to be better Wednesday against the Pistons if they hope to snap the losing streak.

Bane posted 15 points (5-14 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds and five assists across 33 minutes in Friday's 111-107 loss to Atlanta.

Bane did not shoot well from beyond the arc Friday, but was able to provide value in the rebounds and assists categories. With Jalen Suggs (knee) doubtful to play in the second leg of a back-to-back, Bane may be tasked with more playmaking responsibilities as the Magic take on the Bulls on Saturday.

The Magic struggled mightily from beyond the arc last season, which is why they brought in Bane, who is a career 41-percent, 3-point sniper. He looked comfortable working in Orlando's offense Wednesday night, did a nice job spreading the floor, and really took over late when it mattered most to help deliver the win for the Magic. He's all set up for a big year with the Magic.

Bane (rest) will be available for Thursday's preseason game against the Pelicans, Cody Taylor of USA Today reports.

Head coach Jamahl Mosley did not reveal his plans for Thursday's rotation, to be clear, but he doesn't anticipate anyone sitting out for rest purposes. Bane is still searching for his rhythm with his new team, as he's shooting 38.5 percent from the field through two exhibitions.

Bane is getting a maintenance day along with Paolo Banchero. He's made two appearances in the preseason so far with averages of 8.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 17.4 minute per contest.

Over his last seven games, Bane is averaging 23.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.0 steals across 33.9 minutes per game.

The Grizzlies escaped with a tight win over the Heat on Thursday, and while Bane certainly contributed to the win with a loaded stat line, the fact that he delivered a woeful shooting performance simply can't be overlooked. This was the first time Bane made single-digit field goals despite attempting 20-plus shots all season long. He should be able to bounce back sooner rather than later, though, as Bane is averaging a solid 19.9 points per game in 22 games since the All-Star break.

Bane filled the stat sheet admirably in this loss to the Warriors, and while Ja Morant grabbed most of the headlines for his 36-point output, Bane made his presence felt admirably on both ends of the court. Bane has filled several roles in the lineup throughout the season, at times operating as the leading scorer and others being a primary playmaker, but he always finds a way to stand out and deliver above-average fantasy lines. He's averaging 20.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.5 blocks per game since the All-Star break.

Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said prior to Monday's 128-109 win over the Spurs that Bane has been diagnosed with a left foot sprain following an MRI and will miss some time, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.

While Jenkins didn't offer up a definitive timeline for Bane's return, the coach said that the Grizzlies came away encouraged by the results of the MRI, which ruled out a more significant injury. In any case, Bane will most likely miss a second straight game Wednesday in Toronto, and his availability for the Grizzlies' remaining three games before the All-Star break would also appear to be in jeopardy. Luke Kennard entered the starting five at shooting guard in Bane's stead Monday, finishing with two points, three assists, one rebound and one steal in 22 minutes.

Bane has steadily improved as a scorer over his first four seasons in the league, and he's been prolific on the scoreboard to begin the 2023-24 campaign. He's scored at least 15 points in each of his first seven appearances of the season and has tallied 30-plus points on four occasions. The 25-year-old is now averaging 26.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals in 35.0 minutes per game this year.

It's unclear who will get the short end of the stick when Ja Morant returns, but it's more likely that Marcus Smart will find himself on the bench, while Bane will retain his role. It took some time for Morant and Bane to gel last season, but they lasted most of the year as companions in the backcourt when Morant was healthy. Bane is aptly propping up the backcourt so far, with averages of 24.6 points and 5.2 assists through five games.

Bane missed just five of his 17 shots from the field en route to tying for the team lead with 30 points. Aside from a 4-for-17 shooting performance last Friday against Denver, the guard has made at least half of his field-goal attempts in each of his appearances this season, and he continues to be one of the league's top shooters from deep with 3.3 triples per game. Bane is also averaging 2.0 steals per contest, and he would boost his already substantial fantasy value considerably if he could keep close to that place for the season.

Bane totaled 26 points (10-20 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal across 34 minutes during Saturday's 113-106 loss to Washington.

Marcus Smart has never been a player who can carry the offense regularly, which means Desmond Bane has emerged as the Grizzlies' primary scoring weapon with Ja Morant (suspension) set to remain sidelined for the next 22 games. Bane has scored at least 26 points in two of his first three contests this season and is averaging 24.0 points while shooting 42.4 percent from the field to start the campaign.

Bane registered 31 points (11-22 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five assists, five rebounds, two steals and one block over 36 minutes in Wednesday's 111-104 loss to the Pelicans.

Bane led the Grizzlies in field goal attempts and shots beyond the arc Wednesday, though he was much more efficient than most of his teammates. He accounted for five of the team's 12 three point makes on a night where Memphis shot just 27.9 percent from beyond the arc. Bane signed a five-year, $207 million contract extension in the offseason, and with Ja Morant suspended for the first 25 games of the season, the former will need to continue his scoring aggression until the All-Star point guard makes his return.

Bane has been the Grizzlies' standout performer in the preseason, and he delivered an impressive outing to show he's ready for the regular season. This is a positive development for both the Grizzlies and fantasy managers who drafted Bane in their leagues, as he will have an increased responsibility on offense while Ja Morant is suspended.

With Ja Morant suspended to start the year, the Grizzlies will need Bane healthy and at his best to begin the regular season.

Sadly, they fell short of the mark, leaving themselves in a 3-1 hole with the series now heading back to Memphis. Against a Lakers team that continues to improve, it is hard to see the Grizzlies winning three consecutive games. With that said, should they hope to do the improbable, Bane will need to continue to do some heavy lifting on the offensive end with Ja Morant still dealing with a wrist injury.

Bane produced 22 points (6-18 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 7-7 FT), five rebounds and six assists across 37 minutes during Sunday's 128-112 loss to the Lakers in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

Bane finished second on the team in scoring behind Jaren Jackson (31), but he struggled to find any offensive rhythm and was inefficient from the field. If Ja Morant (wrist) has to miss any time, Bane would presumably be asked to step up as Memphis' go-to playmaker.

Bane has gone over the 20-point plateau in six straight games, his longest streak of the season. Bane has shot well from three, hitting 48.6 percent of his shots beyond the arc, and at the free throw line, knocking down 91.7 percent of his freebies. The 24-year-old has provided a nice boost in efficiency for fantasy managers. Plus his assists have ticked up to 5.2 per game in this stretch. As long as Memphis isn't resting him, Bane should finish the season strong.

Bane finished with 22 points (9-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, nine assists and three steals over 38 minutes during Friday's 108-94 victory over the Clippers.

Bane returned to action following a one-game absence due to rest and a nagging foot injury, but he looked impressive here and came up one assist short of recording what would've been his first double-double since Jan. 4. Bane has been on a tear of late and has scored at least 20 points in each of his last five appearances, averaging 24.6 points while shooting 54.3 percent from the field in that span.

Even with Ja Morant playing 24 minutes off the bench in his return from a nine-game absence due to a suspension and for conditioning purposes, Bane was able to retain a key playmaking role. He tied with starting point guard Tyus Jones for the team lead in assists, though both Bane and Jones are likely to notice some downturn in the category once Morant steps back into the starting five and reclaims his usual minutes. Bane averaged 5.1 assists while Morant was sidelined the past nine games, after previously averaging 4.0 per game for the season prior that stretch.

Morant is without a clear timeline to rejoin the team, so look for Bane to continue enjoying an uptick in his overall production for the foreseeable future.

Though he fell 12 points short of matching his season-high scoring total, Bane might have turned in his best overall fantasy line of the campaign thanks to the immense production in the two defensive categories. After missing two straight games to close out Week 15 due to a sore right knee, Bane proceeded to play in all three of the Grizzlies' Week 16 contests and averaged 22.7 points, 4.0 three-pointers, 2.7 assists, 1.7 steals, 1.3 assists and 0.7 blocks in 30.3 minutes while shooting 52.1 percent from the field.

Bane (knee) will take the floor Wednesday against the Trail Blazers.

Initially labeled questionable, it appears Bane's knee is doing well enough for him to return following a two-game absence. Bane continues to look better with each passing game, scoring at least 20 points for the fourth time in his past five games. The points are always going to be there for Bane, although it has been his assist numbers that have been more intriguing. He has at least six dimes in three of his previous four games, a part of his game that is becoming more consistent. He is basically locked in as a top-40 talent ROS, right where he was being drafted.

Bane found his touch from deep in this one, doing nearly all of his scoring from three in Boston. He also had one of his best nights on the glass in nearly a month, as he'd been held to six boards or fewer in his last eight contests. Bane did struggle in the scoring department near the end of February, managing to score over 14 points just once in his last five games of the month, but his 17-point performance Thursday evening is certainly a reassuring sign for fantasy managers.

Bane fouled out of Saturday's 116-110 win over the Bulls after recording 12 points (4-18 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two rebounds, five assists and one steal across 28 minutes.

While Bane has scored in double digits in six straight games for the Grizzlies, this wasn't one of his finest performances. He needed 18 shots just to score 12 points, and in fact, he hasn't cleared the 15-point mark in three of his last six appearances. That's not bad by any means and his role as one of the best scoring threats for the Grizzlies is very much alive, though it is a worrying trend for someone who was averaging 18.1 points per game until the end of January. In comparison, he's only putting up 15.4 points while shooting 34.9 percent from the field across nine games in February.

Bane managed 13 points (4-13 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three assists, one rebound and one block across both legs of the Rising Stars competition at All-Star Weekend.

Bane was one of three players for Team Isiah to score in double figures in the first leg of the new format, but he struggled in the championship round. Overall, the second-year wing out of TCU was efficient from the field but was still one of the more productive players in the tournament.

Recent struggles aside, Memphis is on a four-game win streak and Bane is set to compete in the upcoming All-Star Three-Point Contest. The 23-year-old continues to be a revelation for the Grizzlies.

Bane has now scored at least 18 points in five of his last six games. He and Tyus Jones (2-10 FG) are splitting the void of Ja Morant, with Bane looking like the significantly better contributor. The 23-year-old TCU product is worth adding in standard leagues if managers have the roster spot.

The shooting guard has registered double-digit points in all but two contests this season, helping him raise his overall scoring average to 14.8 points per game -- up from 9.2 during his rookie campaign.

Bane walked away from Thursday's win with his most productive line in almost two weeks. The return of Dillon Brooks has certainly impacted Bane's path to minutes, although, he has still been able to hold onto his starting position. While the upside is not what it was earlier in the season, Bane remains a viable 12-team asset, as evidenced by this performance.

Bane has fallen off a cliff in recent times, in stark contrast to the way he started the season. He managed to salvage his night with eight boards and a pair of blocks but that certainly doesn't hide the fact he is struggling with his shot. He appears locked in as the starter and so he could absolutely turn it around in the near future. If you are holding him in a standard league, you really have only two options. You can either hold on and hope he gets going or drop him to waivers and let someone else deal with his inconsistencies.

Bane mustered 16 points (6-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three assists, two rebounds and one steal in Wednesday's win over the Nuggets.

The former TCU standout continues to provide consistent offense at the small-forward position for the Grizzlies this year, as this was Bane's eighth straight outing in double figures offensively. Bane is currently averaging 17.5 points which is on pace to shatter his rookie mark of 9.2 points per matchup. It was also Bane's fifth outing in which he converted at least three threes.

The temporary loss of Dillon Brooks was expected to sting for Memphis, but the excellent play of Bane and De'Amthony Melton has been an excellent remedy. Although both players have turned in standout performances over the past two weeks, Bane has taken a clear lead in production between the two. He showed no signs of fatigue in the back-to-back. As long as Brooks is out, Bane should be rostered in all but the shallowest of fantasy leagues.

He is off to a strong start to his sophomore NBA campaign, posting per-game averages of 19.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 3.0 three-pointers through four contests.

Bane put on an incredible performance in the season-opener matching his career high in points while also making an impact defensively. If Bane continues to get this amount of offensive opportunities, he can drastically improve from his production last year when he scored 9.2 points per game as a rookie.

He isn't seeing consistent enough minutes to be an asset in most season-long formats, but Bane has demonstrated he has the upside to carry some DFS intrigue.

Over that stretch, Bane is averaging 10.0 points, 3.9 boards, 1.8 assists, 1.8 threes and 0.7 steals in 22.7 minutes, numbers that won't be on the radar in most re-draft formats but which give him value in dynasty leagues.

He should see plenty of run with the Grizzlies' first unit as long as Allen remains sidelined.

Bane has seen a dramatic drop in his production since he reverted back to a bench role. Over the last eight games, he has only scored in double figures twice and averaged 8.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 19.2 minutes. On the whole, the rookie has been a pleasant surprise, but he's not worth rostering in standards leagues right now.

Bane scored 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt) and added three rebounds in a 132-126 victory over the Celtics on Monday.

Bane was very efficient from both the field and from three in Memphis' overtime win. The guard has been solid since returning to a bench role four games ago, scoring at least eight points and making multiple threes in each contest. Bane has been the most reliable shooter off the Grizzlies bench this season, shooting a team-high 48.9 percent from distance in games he doesn't start.

Bane will come off the bench Wednesday versus the Heat, Evan Barnes of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.

The 22-year-old started the past seven games but will shift to the bench after putting up zero points (0-3 3Pt) one rebound and one assist in 22 minutes Monday at Phoenix. Bane should still be involved off the bench while Grayson Allen joins the starting five.

Bane scored 20 points (7-13 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT) with four rebounds, one assist and one steal in a 127-112 victory over the Wizards on Wednesday.

Bane got another start with Grayson Allen (concussion) out of the lineup and scored a new season high point total. The guard was very involved in the offensive game plan, as he attempted the third most shots on the team which also happened to be a season high for Bane. In seven starts this season, Bane has averaged 12.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

Bane amassed 15 points (6-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, three steals, one assist and one block in 28 minutes during Sunday's 133-84 victory over the Rockets.

Bane moved into the starting lineup with Grayson Allen (concussion) ruled out. He certainly made the most of his opportunity and helped lead the Grizzlies to their biggest win of the season. Bane has proved the ability to be a fantasy contributor when he is afforded significant playing time and there is certainly a case to be made for him sticking with the opening five. However, that seems unlikely at this point and so his value is almost certainly going to be short-lived.

Bane will start Sunday's game against the Rockets.

With Grayson Allen (concussion) ruled out, the Grizzlies will roll with the rookie at the other guard spot next to Ja Morant. It will be the fourth start of the season for Bane, who's played at least 20 minutes in each of the last 13 contests.

Bane had 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and two rebounds across 23 minutes off the bench in Monday's loss against the Mavericks.

Bane has been a regular scoring threat off the bench for the Grizzlies, as he has scored in double digits in 10 of his last 12 appearances. His upside is hard-capped due to the fact that he regularly plays under 30 minutes and routinely comes off the bench, but he can be a valuable streaming alternative on most nights due to his scoring ability.

Bane will start Saturday's game against the Suns, Rob Fischer of Fox Sports Southeast reports.

The Grizzlies have an extensive injury report, which will force Bane into the starting five. In his previous two starts this season, he has averaged 15.5 points, 2.5 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 26.0 minutes.

Bane (personal) played 25 minutes and compiled 10 points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two steals and one assist Friday in the Grizzlies' 109-95 win over the Pistons.

Before missing the Grizzlies' most recent four games to tend to a personal matter, Bane had drawn two straight starts, logging 26 minutes in both of those outings. While his playing time was similar in his return to action Friday, Bane moved to the bench while Grayson Allen maintained his spot in the starting five. Allen endured a rough night from the field (six points on 2-for-8 shooting), so it wouldn't be surprising if Bane re-entered the starting five for the second half of the Grizzlies' back-to-back set Saturday versus Phoenix.

Bane (personal) isn't on the injury report for Friday's game against the Pistons.

Bane missed the last four games for a personal matter, but he should return to action Friday. With Dillon Brooks (thigh) and De'Anthony Melton (shoulder) questionable for the matchup against Detroit, Bane could see an increased role for Memphis on Friday.

Bane (personal) will not play in Wednesday's game against the Thunder.

A personal matter will keep Bane sidelined for a fourth consecutive game. With De'Anthony Melton (shoulder) also sidelined, expect Grayson Allen to continue holding onto a larger role.

Bane (personal) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Pelicans.

Bane will be unavailable for the third straight game due to a personal issue. Grayson Allen and John Konchar should continue to have increased roles for the Grizzlies.

Bane (personal) will not play Sunday against the Kings.

A personal issue will cause Bane to miss a second straight game. In his absence, John Konchar and Grayson Allen could again see expanded roles.

Bane (personal) will not play Friday against the Lakers.

Bane is set to miss his first game of the season due to personal reasons. The 22-year-old had been playing well of late, scoring in double figures in eight of the last nine games. John Konchar could see increased minutes with Bane sidelined.

Bane tallied a career-high 18 points (6-11 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT) to go with two assists, two steals and one rebound across 26 minutes Wednesday in the Grizzlies' 130-114 win over the Hornets.

With Brandon Clarke (calf) out of the lineup again, Bane picked up a second straight start on the wing while Kyle Anderson shifted up to power forward. Bane was one several Grizzlies to catch fire from distance, as Memphis poured in a franchise-record 23 treys to end its four-game losing streak. At least in Bane's case, the efficient shooting from downtown wasn't out of the ordinary. Through his first 20 NBA games, Bane is converting on 48.2 percent of his 4.3 three-point attempts per contest.

Bane will start Monday's game against the Raptors.

Memphis will elect to switch up their starting five by throwing Bane into the mix, taking the place of the injured Brandon Clarke (calf). Gorgui Dieng made the spot start for Clarke on Saturday but will head to the bench for Monday's contest.

Bane recorded 16 points (5-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), three assists, a rebound, a steal and a blocked shot across 27 minutes in Thursday's 115-103 loss to the Rockets.

Bane got an increased run when Dillon Brooks got into foul trouble and generated an encouraging result in the loss. Getting significant time will be a challenge for the rookie due to the logjam of guards on the depth chart, but since the team's return to action, the TCU product has averaged 24 minutes on the court.

Bane had 16 points (6-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five assists and three rebounds during Tuesday's 134-116 loss to the Pacers.

Memphis went into halftime trailing by 21 points, and the rookie first-round pick ended up playing the third most minutes on the team. Bane has reached double figures in five consecutive contests and is 12-for-20 on three-point attempts during that stretch.

Bane is averaging 8.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 0.6 steals over the last five games.

Bane continues to be among the surprises of the 2020 rookie class, and he's been a nice addition to the Grizzlies' bench unit. He has six double-digit scoring games on the year, topping out with 16 points in 32 minutes back on Dec. 30 against the Celtics. He's hitting 1.8 three-pointers per game at a 48.9 percent clip.

Bane scored eight points in the first half on 3-for-4 shooting in the opening quarter. The young guard has averaged 13.0 points per game in his last three since Ja Morant went down with an ankle injury last week, shooting 48.4 percent from the field. Bane made quick work in his time on the court, playing the least amount of minutes since opening night when the rookie played just 11 minutes. The 22-year-old saw scattered minutes the rest of the contest, finding some playing time in the third quarter, but residing on the bench until the game was out of reach for Memphis in the fourth.

Bane scored 16 points (6-11 FG, 3-6 3PT, 1-1 FT) to go with four rebounds and one steal across 32 minutes in a 126-107 loss to Boston on Wednesday.

Bane did the bulk of his damage in the fourth, scoring nine points in the closing quarter as the game was already out of reach for Memphis The rookie showed promise as a bench guard in the preseason, averaging 9.3 points in 20.8 minutes per game in four showings. But with Ja Morant set to miss some time with an ankle injury, along with guard Grayson Allen going down Wednesday, Bane wil see more action than anticipated at the start of the season.

Bane compiled 10 points (4-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists, a steal and a blocked shot across 22 minutes in Thursday's 128-106 win over the Hawks.

The Grizzlies put their first-round pick to work right away in the preseason, and he's now logged two encouraging stints off the bench. The 6-6 TCU product is stuck behind Dillon Brooks on the depth chart, but he has enough size and speed to compete for a spot at the wing, where he has a better shot at significant contribution in his rookie season.

Bane was Memphis' lone pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and the rookie certainly made his presence felt in the preseason opener. He has a crowded path at consistent playing time with Dillon Brooks, De'Anthony Melton and Grayson Allen at shooting guard, but a strong preseason could bump him up on the depth chart. Saturday's game was certainly a step in the right direction.
