Sniffs triple-double in win
Daniels provided 17 points (8-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-3 FT), nine rebounds, eight assists and two steals over 44 minutes during Sunday's 142-134 double-overtime victory over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Daniels logged a season-high 44 minutes, which was expected in this double-overtime win, and finished just one board and two assists away from recording his first triple-double of the season. Daniels has done a good job as a playmaker this season, averaging 7.0 dimes per game since the start of November, and that, coupled with his scoring prowess and elite defensive numbers, make him a valuable fantasy option across all formats. His upside will likely regress once Trae Young (knee) returns, but in the meantime, Daniels has been excellent as one of the Hawks' primary playmaking options alongside Jalen Johnson.

Nears double-double in win
Daniels chipped in 22 points (10-17 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and two steals over 36 minutes during Sunday's 113-110 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Daniels finished as Atlanta's third-leading scorer and was one of four Hawks players to reach the 20-point threshold. While he struggled from beyond the arc once again, the fourth-year guard knocked down a triple after shooting 0-for-11 from downtown in his previous eight appearances. He also led the team in rebounds and tied the game-high mark in steals, recording multiple swipes for the 14th time across 18 regular-season appearances.
Nov 22, 2025
Comes close to double-double
Daniels registered 14 points (6-15 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 31 minutes during Saturday's 115-98 win over New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Daniels recorded his best scoring output since Nov. 4, when he had 18 points in a win over the Magic. Scoring prowess aside, Daniels was also his usual self when it came to filling out the stat sheet. This was his fourth consecutive game with at least 10 rebounds and assists combined, and he also extended his streak of games with at least one steal to 17.
Nov 21, 2025
Balanced stat line Thursday
Daniels contributed eight points (4-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds, five assists and three steals across 31 minutes during Thursday's 135-126 loss to the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Daniels didn't have his best scoring output in his nine-point loss, as Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Jalen Johnson did that, but Daniels also delivered solid numbers in other categories. A defensive specialist who can also let it rain from three-point range, Daniels has enough talent to be a valuable fantasy option due to his ability to fill the stat sheet across all categories, even on games where his scoring output is limited.
Nov 17, 2025
Sniffs triple-double in win
Daniels supplied 11 points (5-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, 12 assists and three steals in 37 minutes during Sunday's 124-122 victory over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Daniels thrived as a playmaker with his 12 assists, his second-best output of the season, and he allowed players like Jalen Johnson, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Onyeka Okongwu to carry the scoring lead. Daniels made his presence felt on both ends of the court, as he also recorded three steals and finished just three rebounds away from recording what would've been his first triple-double of the season.
Nov 14, 2025
Doesn't do much over 27 minutes
Daniels finished Thursday's 132-122 win over Utah with two points (1-2 FG), two rebounds, three assists and one steal in 27 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Daniels spent a lot of energy chasing around Lauri Markkanen on defense, and he was scoreless through the first half of action without a single shot attempt. He didn't even get his first shot up until the six-minute mark of the third quarter, and he only managed to record one steal. Look for Daniels to bounce back with a more productive stat line Sunday against the Suns.
Nov 9, 2025
Sniffs triple-double in win
Daniels racked up 10 points (5-8 FG), eight rebounds, 13 assists and one steal in 36 minutes during Saturday's 122-102 win over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Daniels was one of the players who needed to step up for Atlanta due to the absences of Trae Young (knee), Jalen Johnson (quadriceps) and Kristaps Porzingis (illness). That's exactly what he did, as the 22-year-old guard was impressive on both ends of the court and finished just two rebounds away from posting a triple-double. Daniels has also turned things around on offense following a slow start to the season and now has scored in double digits in all but one of his last five outings.
Nov 7, 2025
Season-high eight assists
Daniels posted seven points (2-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, eight assists, one block and two steals in 35 minutes during Friday's 109-97 loss to Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Daniels contributed a season-high eight assists, continuing to ramp up his production in the wake of the knee injury to Trae Young. He had also scored 18 points in each of the three contests prior to Friday, an indication that he will indeed be more involved offensively. Through nine games, he is averaging 9.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.4 steals in 32.7 minutes per contest.
Nov 4, 2025
Well-rounded outing in victory
Daniels finished with 18 points (8-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, six assists and two steals across 35 minutes in Tuesday's 127-112 win over the Magic.
ANALYSIS
After failing to reach double figures in each of Atlanta's first five outings, Daniels delivered an extremely efficient performance, marking his third consecutive game with 18 points. The 22-year-old guard also led the Hawks in assists and has dished out six in three of his last four appearances. He will likely continue to see an increased role on offense with Trae Young (knee) sidelined. Additionally, Daniels has impressed on the defensive end thus far, recording multiple steals in all but one of his eight regular-season games.
Nov 2, 2025
Starting to heat up
Daniels logged 18 points (8-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and four steals in 36 minutes during Sunday's 117-109 loss to the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Daniels racked up a season-high four swipes, putting him up to 33 career regular-season games with at least four steals. The swingman had scored in single digits in five consecutive games to open the new year, but he's posted 18 points in back-to-back contests now. On the year, Daniels has averaged 9.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.6 steals in 32.0 minutes per game.
Nov 1, 2025
Well-rounded outing in win
Daniels racked up 18 points (8-13 FG, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and three steals over 38 minutes during Friday's 128-108 win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Daniels delivered his best offensive performance of the season after scoring single-digit points in the team's first five regular-season games. With Trae Young (knee) sidelined, Daniels also stepped up as a distributor. The 22-year-old is a consistent producer on the defensive end and has racked up multiple steals in five of six regular-season games, and he could continue to see more opportunities on the offensive end if Young misses significant time.
Oct 29, 2025
Tallies four defensive stats
Daniels finished with seven points (3-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, six assists, one block and three steals across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 117-112 win over Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Daniels had arguably his best game of the season, despite shooting just 3-for-10 from the field. Production aside, perhaps the biggest takeaway was the fact that Trae Young suffered a knee injury, which could send him to the sideline for a period of time. The flow on effect here could be that Daniels is tasked with doing a little more on the offensive end, boosting his potential for scoring and assists.
Oct 28, 2025
Tacks three steals in loss
Daniels only scored two points (1-8 FG) but added seven rebounds, three steals and two assists across 34 minutes in Monday's 128-123 loss to Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Daniels has yet to eclipse double digits in scoring to begin the season, but has provided steady value on the defensive end, averaging 2.0 steals and 0.5 blocks. His efficiency from the field and the free-throw line is jarring (32.0 percent from the field, 50.0 percent from the free-throw line), and in order for Daniels to be considered a top fantasy option that he was thought to be prior to the season, he has to improve in those areas.
Oct 24, 2025
Improved performance Friday
Daniels totaled six points (3-7 FG, 0-2 FT), nine rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals across 32 minutes during Friday's 111-107 victory over Orlando.
ANALYSIS
Coming off a dud to begin the season, Daniels looked more like himself Friday, tallying three combined steals and blocks. He dealt with foul issues for much of the season opener, limiting his playing time. However, he was back to 32 minutes in the win, more in line with what managers should expect to see on a nightly basis moving forward.
Oct 23, 2025
Quiet in blowout defeat
Daniels totaled four points (2-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 23 minutes during Wednesday's 138-118 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
It was a relatively disappointing season debut for Daniels, who got into foul trouble with five infractions. The lopsided score also didn't help keep him in the floor, either. Daniels will likely end up settling in as a complementary scorer alongside Trae Young, Jalen Johnson and Kristaps Porzingis, though Daniels still projects as an elite source of steals for fantasy managers.
Oct 20, 2025
Netting four-year extension
Daniels (rest) agreed to a four-year, $100 million rookie contract extension with the Hawks on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels is coming off a breakout year in 2024-25, a campaign in which he was named the NBA's Most Improved Player of the Year. The swingman also made first-team All-Defense, leading the league with 3.0 steals per game over 76 regular-season appearances. Daniels will once again be tasked with supplying disruptive defense for the Hawks on a nightly basis in 2025-26 and beyond.
Oct 16, 2025
Won't play Thursday
Daniels (rest) will not suit up for Thursday's preseason finale against the Rockets, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will sit out Atlanta's final exhibition game, but he'll be fine for Opening Night on October 22. It'll be interesting to see if he can replicate the 3.0 steals per game he averaged last season, but if he can, he'll have no trouble flirting with top-15 value.
Oct 15, 2025
Set for action in preseason finale
Daniels (rest) is likely to play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Rockets, Caleb Johnson of 92.9 The Game reports.
ANALYSIS
The 22-year-old defensive menace is set to see his final reps of the preseason Thursday. With head coach Quin Snyder emphasizing the need for conditioning ahead of Opening Night, Daniels could see court time during the second half against Houston.
Oct 13, 2025
Resting Monday
Daniels won't play in Monday's preseason game against the Heat, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Hawks are resting their entire starting lineup Monday. Daniels' next chance to suit up will come during Thursday's preseason finale against the Rockets.
Apr 14, 2025
Off injury report for Tuesday
Daniels (rest) is off the Hawks' injury report for Tuesday's Play-In Game against the Magic, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels sat out of the club's regular-season finale in Sunday's win over the Magic, though he's slated to return for Tuesday's rematch. The defensive-minded guard appeared in seven regular-season games during April, averaging 14.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 2.3 steals and 1.0 blocks across 33.1 minutes per game in that span.
Apr 13, 2025
Ruled out Sunday
Daniels (rest) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Magic, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
After an impressive performance against the 76ers on Friday, Daniels will be one of many notable players that will rest Sunday. The defensive-minded guard will return to the floor for Tuesday's matchup in Orlando.
Apr 12, 2025
Could sit out against Orlando
Daniels is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Magic due to rest purposes.
ANALYSIS
Daniels could sit out Sunday's regular-season finale due to Atlanta already being locked into the Play-In. If Daniels is downgraded to out, Vit Krejci, Terance Mann and Garrison Mathews are candidates to receive increased playing time.
Apr 12, 2025
All-around effort against 76ers
Daniels finished Friday's 124-110 victory over the 76ers with eight points (4-11 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 0-2 FT), 10 rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and three steals in 37 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Daniels didn't have the most efficient night (particularly from beyond the arc), but the third-year guard did a little bit of everything else and finished second on the Hawks in both rebounds and assists behind Mouhamed Gueye (18) and Trae Young (10), respectively. Daniels has emerged as a pillar for the Hawks' future and is averaging 14.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists and a league-high 3.0 steals over 33.8 minutes per game this season.
Apr 11, 2025
Elite thievery again Thursday
Daniels racked up 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, nine assists and three steals over 28 minutes during Thursday's 133-109 win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Daniels continued his breakout season, falling agonizingly short of his first triple-double. His three steals took him to 226 for the season, the most recorded by any player this century. Despite what has been a somewhat disappointing season for the Hawks, their future is bright. They have an intriguing young core featuring Trae Young, Onyeka Okongwu, Jalen Johnson, Zaccharie Risacher, and of course, Daniels.
Apr 9, 2025
Fills stat sheet Tuesday
Daniels produced 15 points (7-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal over 34 minutes during Tuesday's 119-112 loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Onyeka Okongwu and Trae Young led the way for the Hawks in this tight loss, but Daniels' contributions were also impressive from a fantasy perspective, as he filled the stat sheet admirably. That's been a common occurrence for him, though, with Daniels recording at least one tally in each of the five major categories in 33 different games this season. An absolute stud in category-based leagues, Daniels is averaging 15.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 3.1 steals and 0.5 blocks per game since the All-Star break.
Apr 6, 2025
Scores 12 points, swipes two steals
Daniels provided 12 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals over 27 minutes during Saturday's 121-105 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Daniels' final stat line wasn't eye-popping by any means, though the low totals in the scoring column were due to a lack of touches and not efficiency, as he made five of his eight shots from the field. He still found a way to fill the stat sheet and recorded multiple steals for the 56th game, so he still salvaged his fantasy line, though he was better in leagues with category-based formats. Daniels is ending the campaign on a strong note and has scored in double digits in eight of his last 10 games, averaging 15.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 3.2 steals and 0.6 blocks per game in that span.
Apr 1, 2025
Strong on glass in double-double
Daniels recorded 22 points (11-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 10 rebounds, three steals, two blocks and one assist over 37 minutes in Tuesday's 127-113 loss to Portland.
ANALYSIS
Daniels gleaned up the glass early and often in Tuesday's battle, leading all Hawks in rebounds while finishing as one of two players with 20 or more points in a double-double showcase. Daniels set a new season high in rebounds en route to his first double-double of the campaign. He has now tallied 20 or more points in 12 contests this year.
Mar 31, 2025
Sets franchise steals mark
Daniels ended with 22 points (10-15 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and five steals over 34 minutes during Sunday's 145-124 victory over Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
With five more steals Sunday, the third-year guard didn't just pad his NBA-leading total to 213 -- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander sits a distant second with 124. Daniels also set a new Hawks franchise record in the category, breaking Mookie Blaylock's mark of 212 set in 1993-94 (and which Blaylock tied exactly in two of the next three seasons.) Daniels has recorded multiple pilfers in 11 straight games, a stretch in which he's averaging 14.3 points, 7.0 boards, 5.7 assists, 3.6 steals and 1.0 threes while shooting 50.4 percent from the floor.
Mar 26, 2025
Comes close to triple-double
Daniels contributed 19 points (7-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, 10 assists and four steals over 36 minutes during Tuesday's 121-114 loss to Houston.
ANALYSIS
Daniels finished just two boards shy of a triple-double, and as has been the trend all season long, he also made his presence felt on the defensive end with his elite hands and instincts. This was Daniels' ninth consecutive game with multiple swipes, but he's doing more than just contributing defensively of late. Over that nine-game stretch, Daniels is averaging 14.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 3.7 steals per contest.
Mar 25, 2025
Stuffs stat sheet in loss
Daniels finished with 19 points (7-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 assists, eight rebounds and four steals across 36 minutes during Tuesday's 121-114 loss to Houston.
ANALYSIS
Daniels recorded his eighth double-double on the season while tying his season- and career-high mark in assists. Additionally, Daniels sank three three-pointers for just the fourth time on the season, and he has now made multiple triples in 21 of his 67 regular-season appearances. The defensive-minded guard also led the Hawks with a game-high mark in steals, and he has recorded multiple swipes in nine consecutive contests.
Mar 23, 2025
Active on both ends in win
Daniels had 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt), 11 rebounds, six assists and three steals in 35 minutes during Saturday's 124-115 victory over Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Daniels recorded his first double-double since Feb. 24, but the impact he makes on both ends of the court goes beyond what he can do in that category. He's scored in double digits in all but one of his 15 games since the All-Star break and is averaging a robust line of 14.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.3 assists and an impressive 3.2 steals per game over that stretch. He's leading the league in steals by a wide margin and has recorded multiple swipes 14 times over that 15-game stretch.
Mar 18, 2025
Stuffs stat sheet in victory
Daniels contributed 22 points (10-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-3 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists, one block and three steals over 28 minutes during Tuesday's 134-102 win over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Daniels stuffed the stat sheet in the blowout win, recording his fourth outing on the season with at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists. Additionally, the defensive-minded shooting guard notched two-plus steals for a sixth consecutive contest, marking his 49th game on the season with multiple swipes. Daniels delivered an extremely efficient performance against Charlotte, though over his last three outings entering Tuesday, he had shot only 35.1 percent from the field.
Mar 13, 2025
Records four steals
Daniels totaled 10 points (5-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and four steals over 34 minutes during Wednesday's 123-110 win over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Daniels continues to put on a show on the defensive end, as this was his 23rd game of the campaign with at least four steals. This was also his 12th game with multiple blocks. Daniels is comfortably leading Atlanta in nine-category fantasy value over his last 10 games, posting second-round value with 15.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 3.2 steals, 0.5 blocks and 1.0 three-pointers.
Mar 11, 2025
Stuffs stat sheet Monday
Daniels chipped in 25 points (10-14 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 33 minutes during Monday's 132-123 victory over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Daniels had to embrace a bigger role on offense due to the absence of Trae Young (quadriceps), and he responded with one of his best scoring outputs of the campaign. It wouldn't be Daniels if he doesn't contribute in other areas, however, and he also posted solid numbers as a playmaker and on-ball defender. This was his 45th game with two or more steals this season, and he also ended just one dime away from matching his season-high mark in that category.
Mar 4, 2025
Nears double-double in loss
Daniels had 16 points (7-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 0-2 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and two steals over 34 minutes during Tuesday's 127-121 loss to Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Daniels stuffed the stat sheet Tuesday, finishing one rebound shy of his seventh double-double through 57 regular-season appearances. The defensive-minded guard also racked up two or more steals for the ninth consecutive contest, marking his 43rd outing on the season with multiple swipes. Daniels has been extremely efficient over his last six appearances, during which he has shot 58.6 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from three-point range on 1.8 attempts per game.
Mar 4, 2025
Nears double-double in win
Daniels registered 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and three steals in 33 minutes during Monday's 132-130 win over the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Daniels came three assists shy of recording his seventh double-double of the season in a thrilling win Monday against Memphis. The 21-year-old guard is having a breakout season with Atlanta, averaging career-high numbers in points (13.9), rebounds (5.6), assists (4.0) and steals (3.0) per game.
Feb 27, 2025
Strong two-way showing in loss
Daniels supplied 18 points (8-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two steals over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 131-109 loss to Miami.
ANALYSIS
The Hawks suffered a 22-point loss in this matchup, but Daniels was one of the few Atlanta players who finished with a decent stat line, mainly due to his two-way contributions outside of his effective shooting. Despite not being known as a scorer, Daniels has posted double-digit points in each of his games in February, averaging 16.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 3.0 steals per game since the beginning of the month.
Feb 25, 2025
Teases triple-double with steals
Daniels ended Monday's 98-86 victory over Miami with 10 points (5-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt), 11 rebounds, two assists and seven steals across 34 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The seven pilfers were one off Daniels' season high, a mark he set Dec. 23 against the Timberwolves. The third-year guard's impressive defensive performance also extended beyond his personal stats, as he helped hold the Heat to a feeble 32.1 FG%. Daniels' double-double was his sixth of the season, and four of them have come in his last 12 appearances -- a stretch in which he's averaging 15.3 points, 7.3 boards, 5.3 assists, 3.0 steals, 1.0 threes and 0.8 blocks.
Feb 21, 2025
Nears double-double in loss
Daniels notched 10 points (3-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds, four assists and three steals in 34 minutes during Thursday's 114-108 loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Daniels nearly recorded his fifth double-double of the season while stuffing the stat sheet Thursday. The 21-year-old reached double-digit points for the eighth consecutive contest. However, he struggled from the field against Orlando and failed to hit a three-pointer for the third time across his last four outings. Daniels did tie the game-high mark in steals, and he has logged 29 outings with at least three swipes through 51 regular-season appearances.
Feb 7, 2025
Double-double off bench Friday
Daniels tallied 15 points (5-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-7 FT), 10 assists, six rebounds and one steal over 38 minutes during Friday's 115-110 win over the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
It's usually Trae Young that leads the Hawks in assists, but Daniels served as the primary playmaker for Atlanta on Friday as he dished out a season-high 10 dimes. Daniels has also provided a nice scoring punch for the Hawks as of late, and over his last four outings he has averaged 19.0 points on 52.9 percent shooting, 7.0 assists, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks over 37.1 minutes per game. Daniels' responsibilities on offense should continue to grow following the trade of De'Andre Hunter to the Cavaliers.
Feb 3, 2025
Fills stat sheet in victory
Daniels contributed 19 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 6-10 FT), seven assists, six rebounds, four steals and three blocks in 36 minutes during Monday's 132-130 win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
The 21-year-old filled the stat sheet while finishing as the club's third-leading scorer behind Trae Young (34 points) and De'Andre Hunter (20 points). Not only did Daniels deliver an extremely efficient performance from the field, but he also dominated on the defensive end as well. Daniels logged his ninth outing of the season with multiple blocks, and he also recorded his 33rd game with multiple swipes through 45 regular-season appearances. The third-year pro continues to stuff the stat sheet on a nightly basis, which has made him a top option across fantasy formats this season.
Jan 29, 2025
Double-doubles in return
Daniels ended Tuesday's 100-96 loss to the Rockets with 12 points (4-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds, six assists, one block and four steals over 37 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Daniels continued his breakout season, recording his second double-double in the past four games. While his defensive contributions typically garner all the attention, he has quietly been able to develop his offensive game. He has scored double-digits in seven straight games, shooting an impressive 53.7 percent from the field during that time.
Jan 28, 2025
Good to go Tuesday
Daniels (ankle) will be available for Tuesday's game against Houston.
ANALYSIS
Daniels has the green light to return after missing the first leg of this back-to-back set Monday against Minnesota. Trae Young (hamstring) also missed that game, but he's still on the injury report with a questionable tag. Daniels could see a ton of usage if Young is unable to return, as the Hawks are still without Jalen Johnson (shoulder).
Jan 27, 2025
Ruled out Monday
Daniels (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against Minnesota, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The swingman will sit out after he was a late addition to the injury report with left ankle soreness. The Hawks will be extremely short-handed with Daniels, Trae Young (hamstring), Jalen Johnson (shoulder) and Larry Nance (hand) all sidelined, meaning the club will have to rely heavily on its second unit to step up. Daniels' next chance to play will come in the second leg of the club's back-to-back set during Tuesday's matchup against Houston.
Jan 27, 2025
Downgraded to questionable
Daniels (ankle) is now questionable for Monday's game against the Timberwolves, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
With Daniels being a late addition to Atlanta's injury report with ankle soreness Monday, the Hawks' backcourt could be significantly shorthanded in the absence of Trae Young (hamstring). Bogdan Bogdanovic and Garrison Mathews could be in store for amplified roles against Minnesota.
Jan 24, 2025
Monster night on both ends
Daniels put up 22 points (8-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and four steals in 37 minutes during Thursday's 122-119 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
The wing has been active defensively all season, but he's also found his groove on offense recently, averaging 18.6 points while shooting 56.9 percent from the field over his last five games. His offensive load has certainly benefitted from Zaccharie Risacher's (adductor) absence, but if he continues to impress, there's a chance that his value on defense will garner him further opportunity on both ends than the more one-sided Risacher even once the latter returns. Daniels will look to stay hot in a rematch with the Raptors on Saturday.
Jan 23, 2025
Delivers double-double
Daniels finished with 20 points (10-21 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 0-1 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals across 33 minutes during Wednesday's 114-104 loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Trae Young had a subpar performance Wednesday, but Daniels stepped up and was impressive on both ends of the court. This was his second double-double of the season and the second time he reached the 20-point mark over his last three outings. The scoring exploits don't stop there, however, as Daniels has also scored in double digits in eight of his last nine outings, averaging 14.8 points per contest in that stretch.
Jan 19, 2025
Hits for 23 against Boston
Daniels provided 23 points (11-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt), four rebounds, four assists and one steal across 40 minutes during Saturday's 119-115 overtime win over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
The 23 points were his best scoring effort since Nov. 15, when he dropped 25 against the Wizards. Daniels also saw his streak of games with multiple steals end at seven, and through eight contests to begin January the third-year guard is averaging 14.0 points, 4.6 boards, 3.9 assists, 2.9 steals and 1.0 threes.
Jan 16, 2025
Fills up stat sheet in win
Daniels closed Wednesday's 110-94 win over Chicago with 18 points (7-16 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-7 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, one block and three steals in 34 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Daniels continues to be a solid contributor on both ends of the basketball floor for the Hawks. The 21-year-old is having a career year as a starter in Atlanta as arguably the team's best defender while also helping shoulder the offensive load with Trae Young, averaging a career-best 13.0 points per game, shooting 45 percent from the floor and 31.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Jan 11, 2025
Saturday's game postponed
Daniels and the Hawks will play against the Rockets on Saturday, as the game has been postponed due to severe weather and hazardous icy conditions in the Atlanta area.
ANALYSIS
The Hawks are set to host the Suns on Tuesday, but the NBA has yet to announce when Saturday's game will be rescheduled. Regardless, it is worth monitoring the situation in case the hazardous weather conditions also cause Tuesday's matchup to be postponed.
Jan 10, 2025
Another multi-steal game Thursday
Daniels racked up 13 points (6-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt), four rebounds, three assists and three steals over 36 minutes during Thursday's 123-115 loss to Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Daniels is on a hot streak defensively, recording multiple steals in five straight games, though for someone averaging a league-high 3.1 steals, it's nothing too out of the ordinary. The rest of his game waxes and wanes, but he's still averaging a solid 12.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists during this stretch.
Jan 8, 2025
Fills stat sheet Tuesday
Daniels supplied 16 points (7-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt), six rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals across 35 minutes during Tuesday's 124-121 win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Daniels made his presence felt on both ends of the court Tuesday and racked up stats left and right, finishing with two or more tallies in each of the six major categories. Daniels has been a stat-stuffing machine for the Hawks, and even though he gets most of his praises for his work on the defensive end, he's also thriving on the offensive end of the court. He's scored in double digits in his last three games and six of his last seven.
Jan 2, 2025
Grabs three steals in return
Daniels (illness) had nine points (4-17 FG, 1-7 3Pt), six assists, five rebounds and three steals across 30 minutes during Wednesday's 139-120 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Daniels returned to action following a two-game absence streak due to an illness. The 21-year-old struggled to find his rhythm on the offensive end, though he logged a steal for the sixth game in a row in a well-rounded effort. Daniels has averaged 10.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 3.8 steals across 30.8 minutes per game in his last five outings. He has also shot 38.1 percent from deep in that span.
Jan 1, 2025
Available against Nuggets
Daniels (illness) is available for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing the past two games with an illness, Daniels is ready to return to Atlanta's lineup Wednesday. The disruptive wing averaged 12.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.3 steals in 33.3 minutes over 10 games in December, and Daniels figures to handle his usual allotment of playing time as well as some added usage in the absence of Jalen Johnson (shoulder).
Dec 31, 2024
Expected back Wednesday
Daniels (illness) is probable for Wednesday's game against Cleveland, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels has missed his squad's last two games while dealing with an illness, but it appears he's trending in the right direction. Expect final word from Atlanta on Daniels' availability closer to tipoff.
Dec 29, 2024
Remains out Sunday
Daniels (illness) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raptors, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will miss both halves of Atlanta's weekend back-to-back set due to an illness. His next chance to suit up will come Wednesday against the Nuggets. In Daniels' absence, Vit Krejci and Garrison Mathews are candidates for increased roles.
Dec 28, 2024
Ruled out Saturday
Daniels (illness) won't play in Saturday's game against the Heat, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will get the night off to recover from a non-COVID illness, leaving more opportunities for Vit Krejci, De'Andre Hunter and David Roddy. Daniels' next chance to play will come Sunday at Toronto.
Dec 28, 2024
Considered questionable
Daniels is listed as questionable for Saturday's game versus the Heat due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Daniels status will presumably depend on how he is feeling closer to tip off. The defensive stud amassed two blocks and a career-high eight steals over 34 minutes in Monday's 117-104 win over the Timberwolves. Some combination of Bogdan Bogdanovic, De'Andre Hunter and Vit Krejci would likely absorb Daniels' minutes should he ultimately be unable to give it a go.
Dec 23, 2024
Elite defensive production again
Daniels amassed 10 points (4-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists, two blocks and eight steals over 34 minutes during Monday's 117-104 win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Daniels was at it again, recording a career-high eight steals, as the Hawks took care of the Timberwolves. Daniels has been a revelation this season, exceeding the expectations of even his biggest supporters. Given the advanced metrics have Daniels right at the top of the list when it comes to deflections, there is no reason to think he can't continue to lead the league in steals.
Dec 22, 2024
Records six steals in loss
Daniels recorded 15 points (6-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt), three rebounds, six assists, one block and six steals across 29 minutes during Saturday's 128-112 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Daniels reminded everyone of his elite defensive upside, recording at least five steals for the seventh time this season. With Trae Young sidelined due to a heel injury, Daniels took control of the offense, tallying at least six assists for just the fourth time since joining the Hawks. With or without Young on the court, Daniels should continue to build a case for Defensive Player of the Year honors, currently averaging 3.9 combined steals and blocks.
Dec 15, 2024
Serviceable again in loss
Daniels racked up 11 points (5-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-4 FT), eight rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal over 38 minutes during Saturday's 110-102 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Daniels cobbled together another serviceable performance, continuing his breakout season. Although his scoring has been a little inconsistent, his defensive numbers continue to astound. He is averaging 3.9 combined steals and blocks across the first 25 games, putting him firmly in the discussion for Defensive Player of the Year.
Dec 9, 2024
Grabs five steals in loss Sunday
Daniels provided 18 points (7-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), six assists, five steals, four rebounds and one block in 34 minutes during Sunday's 141-111 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Daniels stuffed the stat sheet in an impressive performance on both sides of the floor, racking up three-plus steals for his 13th time over 23 regular-season outings. The 21-year-old also led the starting five in scoring, and he reached the second-highest mark in points on the team behind De'Andre Hunter (20 points). Daniels' two-way play continues to make him a top option across fantasy formats, and in his last five outings, he has averaged 14.7 points, 4.6 steals, 4.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 0.7 blocks across 35.5 minutes per contest.
Dec 2, 2024
Stellar two-way play in victory
Daniels racked up 19 points (8-16 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, four steals, two assists and one block across 35 minutes during Monday's 124-112 win over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
The 21-year-old led the team in steals while tying Jalen Johnson for the most points among the starting five. Daniels has been impressive on both ends of the floor in a breakout season, and he has logged eight games with four-plus steals. Moreover, the young guard has made significant strides offensively, reaching double-digit points in 14 of his 20 regular-season appearances after averaging only 5.8 points across 22.3 minutes per game with the Pelicans last year. Daniels continues to deliver stellar performances on both sides of the ball, and his two-way play has made him a top option for fantasy managers.
Nov 23, 2024
Another four steals in loss
Daniels provided eight points (3-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt), five rebounds, four assists and four steals over 32 minutes during Friday's 136-122 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Daniels struggled from the field, shooting just 3-of-14 from the field. However, he managed to chip in elsewhere, something he has done on a consistent basis this season. He currently leads the league in steals and deflections, providing the Hawks with a much-needed defensive presence on the wing. His offensive game is still a little raw, although it does appear as though his confidence is right where it needs to be. Should his scoring ability ever catch up with his defensive production, he could escalate himself to another level.
Nov 19, 2024
Strong two-way impact Monday
Daniels finished Monday's 109-108 win over Sacramento with 14 points (6-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt), eight rebounds, four assists and four blocks in 39 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Daniels finished just two rebounds shy of a double-double Monday, but he also made his presence felt with a season-high four blocks. His two-way impact can't go unnoticed in Atlanta, and his elite defensive play has allowed Trae Young to excel as a playmaker, as Daniels has shown the ability to handle opposing point guards on the other end of the court. Daniels has also looked better than expected as a scoring threat. He's averaging 15.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.7 steals per game since the beginning of November.
Nov 15, 2024
Leads Hawks in scoring
Daniels provided 25 points (10-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and six steals over 36 minutes during Friday's 129-117 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Daniels stayed hot in Friday night's win and has knocked down 62.9 percent of his tries in his last two appearances. The 21-year-old has also been turning in eye-popping production on the defensive end, registering 18 total steals in three games. Expect Atlanta to continue to ride the hot hand especially while Trae Young works to find his footing coming off an Achilles injury.
Nov 12, 2024
Records season-high 28 points
Daniels recorded 28 points (12-21 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), seven assists, six steals and three rebounds in Tuesday's 117-116 win over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Daniels is on an absolute tear defensively, tallying at least six steals in three straight games. On the season, the 21-year-old guard is averaging 3.6 swipes across 10 contests. Daniels also stepped up in the scoring department against Boston with Trae Young (Achilles) out by posting a team-high 28 points.
Nov 10, 2024
Thriving defensively
Daniels contributed 16 points (7-15 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and six steals in 36 minutes during Saturday's 125-113 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
This was the third consecutive game in which Daniels recorded four or more steals, but he can get the job as an offensive weapon as well. Daniels is not known for his scoring prowess, but he's making the most of his minutes in the first unit. He's now recorded double-digit points in six of nine outings in 2024-25, and his fantasy upside continues to grow with each passing game. He seems to complement Trae Youg extremely well in the backcourt.
Nov 8, 2024
Tallies seven steals
Daniels amassed 18 points (7-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists, two blocks and seven steals in 38 minutes during Friday's 122-121 loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Daniels has recorded an eye-popping 11 total steals over his last two contests after collecting a season-high seven steals Friday night. His scoring production was an added bonus, as he tied his best mark of the year. The 21-year-old is averaging 12.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.3 steals over his last four appearances.
Nov 7, 2024
Defense makes up for offense in win
Daniels posted six points (3-16 FG, 0-4 3Pt), five rebounds, two assists, one block and four steals over 37 minutes during Wednesday's 121-116 win over New York.
ANALYSIS
Daniels had a rough night shooting the ball. However, fantasy managers have to remain pleased with his defensive contributions. Daniels has at least one steal in every game thus far and is averaging 2.4 steals and 0.7 blocks in his 30.7 minutes. Inconsistent offense may persist throughout the campaign, as that's the weakpoint of his game, but he's still someone who should be rostered in the vast majority of season-long fantasy leagues.
Nov 4, 2024
Solid display in return to action
Daniels ended with 16 points (7-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists and one steal across 25 minutes during Sunday's 126-111 win over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Daniels returned after a brief two-game absence due to a right hip flexor strain, and the 21-year-old continues to enjoy a solid start to the campaign, as he's firmly entrenched as the Hawks' starting shooting guard with Bogdan Bogdanovic (hamstring) sidelined for the time being. Daniels has scored in double digits in four of his five appearances, putting up a solid line of 13.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.4 steals per game. His ability to make an impact on both ends of the court has given the Hawks quite a boost in their backcourt.
Nov 3, 2024
Available Sunday
Daniels (hip) is available for Sunday's game against the Pelicans, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels missed two consecutive games due to a right hip flexor strain, though he is expected to play through the injury on the first day of a back-to-back set Sunday. The 21-year-old has seen an uptick in playing time in his first season with Atlanta, during which he has averaged 12.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.0 blocks across 32.5 minutes per game in four regular-season appearances thus far.
Nov 2, 2024
Listed questionable for Sunday
Daniels (hip) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Pelicans, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels has missed two straight games due to a right hip strain but has a chance to return Sunday. With so many injuries to Atlanta's backcourt, Daniels has a clear path to heavy minutes when cleared to suit up again, and he was off to a strong start before the injury, especially defensively. Through four appearances, he's averaged 12.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.0 blocks in 32.3 minutes per game.
Oct 31, 2024
Won't play against Sacramento
Daniels (hip) is out for Friday's game versus the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will miss his second straight contest Friday while dealing with a right hip strain. David Roddy, Keaton Wallace and Zaccharie Risacher should continue to receive increased playing time in his absence. Daniels' next chance to suit up is Sunday's matchup with New Orleans.
Oct 30, 2024
Fourth-year option exercised
Daniels (hip) had his 2025-26 team option picked up by Atlanta on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Daniels has stepped in as an impactful defender in Atlanta's rotation after being acquired from New Orleans in the offseason. The 2025-26 campaign will mark the final year of his rookie contract.
Oct 29, 2024
Won't play Wednesday
Daniels won't play Wednesday against the Wizards due to a right hip flexor strain, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels has broken out through the first four games of the season, averaging 12.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.0 blocks in 32.3 minutes per game. It's unclear when he suffered the injury or how severe it is, but the Hawks will be extremely shorthanded Wednesday, as Bogdan Bogdanovic (hamstring) and Vit Krejci (thigh) remain out, while De'Andre Hunter (knee) is questionable. Daniels' next chance to suit up will come Friday versus the Kings.
Oct 29, 2024
Steal streak continues Monday
Daniels logged 11 points (4-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist and three steals over 36 minutes during Monday's 121-119 loss to the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Daniels has been a low-usage offensive player for the Hawks, but his defense has been excellent. He's recorded at least one steal in each of his first four games, averaging 2.8 swipes in his 32.5 minutes. He's also blocking 1.0 shots per game. As the No. 8 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Daniels was known for his defense, so these types of performances should continue.
Oct 24, 2024
Thrives in starting role
Daniels recorded 15 points (6-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-4 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and five steals in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 120-116 win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Daniels looked fantastic on both ends of the floor, serving as Robin to Trae Young's Batman. Despite some conjecture as to whether he would start, sure enough, Daniels ran with the starting five and certainly didn't look out of place. His overall fantasy value is likely to rely heavily on his defensive contributions, of which he had six. His offensive repertoire is a work in progress, although he flashed some upside here, attacking the basket and confidently firing away from deep. Daniels was viewed by some as a viable late-round flier in drafts, while others were less confident when it came to his draft pedigree. This is just a small sample but as long as he can play upwards of 30 minutes per night, he could continue to surprise people and end up being a fantasy stalwart for years to come.
Oct 18, 2024
Strong two-way performance
Daniels compiled 13 points (5-14 FG, 3-7 3PT), eight rebounds, four assists and three steals in 24 minutes during Thursday's preseason loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Daniels remained in the starting lineup, a role that could very well be his for the taking when the season starts next week. He makes sense as a defensive stopper alongside Trae Young, with Bogdan Bogdanovic providing a scoring punch off the bench. Despite his limited offensive upside, Daniels should be considered late in drafts, especially for his defensive capabilities and out-of-position rebounding.
Oct 9, 2024
Productive in spot start
Daniels finished with 14 points (5-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), a rebound, three assists and two steals across 22 minutes in Tuesday's 131-130 preseason win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Daniels got the start alongside Trae Young in the backcourt since Bogdan Bogdanovic was rested, and the former Pelicans guard did a solid job on both ends of the court. That said, Daniels is expected to open the regular season on a bench role, which should limit his upside considerably regardless of how he looks in preseason.
Oct 8, 2024
Gets starting nod
Daniels is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's preseason opener against the Pacers, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels is set to make his Hawks debut Tuesday after spending the first two years of his career in New Orleans. While Daniels is expected to come off the bench this season, he will start in place of Bogdan Bogdanovic (rest) against Indiana.
Aug 2, 2024
All-around performance in loss
Daniels tallied 11 points (4-7 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-3 FT), eight assists, six rebounds and one steal in 28 minutes during Friday's 77-71 loss to Greece in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
ANALYSIS
Daniels shot the ball efficiently from the field and led Australia in assists during Friday's loss. While Daniels is expected to be a backup option in Atlanta's frontcourt after being traded from New Orleans, the 21-year-old guard continues to feature heavily for his national team.
Jun 28, 2024
Dealt to Atlanta
Daniels, Larry Nance and two first-round picks were traded from the Pelicans to the Hawks for Dejounte Murray, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, the Hawks have dealt one of their two backcourt starters, now shifting to a younger look after drafting Zaccharie Risacher with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. It's easy to forget Daniels was selected with the No. 8 pick in 2022, as he struggled to find consistent minutes due to injury and an influx of win-now talent on New Orleans' roster. Daniels, at 6-foot-7, 199 pounds, is a versatile on-ball defender who can disrupt players across the board. On offense, he's shown playmaking upside, but he struggles shooting the ball. It's not a perfect fit next to Trae Young, but it's the right player to take a chance on during a soft rebuild.
Apr 9, 2024
Will play Tuesday
Daniels (knee) will be available for Tuesday's game against Portland.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will shed his questionable tag after battling some left knee soreness. There's no word of any restrictions heading into tipoff, so presumably, Daniels will see his usual allotment of minutes.
Apr 9, 2024
Dealing with left knee soreness
Daniels (left knee soreness) is questionable to play Tuesday versus Portland.
ANALYSIS
Daniels diagnosis of left knee soreness is notable context after the 21-year-old was sidelined for the majority of February and March following meniscus surgery on his left knee. The Pelicans could opt to proceed with caution in his workload, so Daniels' status will need to be monitored.
Apr 7, 2024
Returns to second unit
Daniels will come off the bench Sunday versus Phoenix while Zion Williamson (finger) re-enters the starting lineup.
ANALYSIS
Daniels is averaging 12.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 23.0 minutes across his last two contests off the bench. Notably, Naji Marshall (shoulder) is unavailable Sunday due to a shoulder injury, vacating the 20.7 minutes he is average through his past six appearances.
Apr 5, 2024
Enters starting lineup
Daniels will move into the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Spurs, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Zion Williamson (finger) is being held out Friday, so the Pelicans will roll with a smaller lineup. Daniels is a solid stream for fantasy managers in need of assists, rebounds and defensive stats.
Apr 4, 2024
Strong effort in loss, ejected late
Daniels provided 16 points (6-8 FG, 4-5 3Pt), two rebounds, three assists and two steals over 21 minutes before getting ejected from Wednesday's 117-108 loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Daniels came up just one point shy of his season high. He's played well since returning from a 21-game absence. In his last three appearances, he's averaged 9.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.0 steals in 19.0 minutes. He should continue to see elevated minutes and usage while Brandon Ingram (knee) is sidelined. Daniels, along with Herbert Jones and Trey Murphy, were ejected with seven seconds left to go in the loss after arguing with an official.
Apr 1, 2024
Settling in nicely
Daniels registered nine points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt), seven rebounds, five assists and two steals in 25 minutes during Monday's 124-111 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Daniels skyrocketed from 11 to 25 minutes of action in his second game back following meniscus surgery. He would have finished with six assists if not for a Trey Murphy missed dunk in transition as well. Daniels' momentum puts him on track to play a sizable role while Brandon Ingram (knee) is inactive.
Mar 31, 2024
Logs 11 minutes in return
Daniels closed Saturday's 104-92 loss to the Celtics with two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and two steals across 11 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Saturday's contest marked the first time Daniels saw the court since Feb. 9 after undergoing meniscus surgery on his left knee. Before his 21-game absence, Daniels was averaging 21.9 minutes off the bench, and the 2022 first-round pick will look to work his way back to that level of playing time heading into the postseason.
Mar 30, 2024
Good to go Saturday
Daniels (knee) is available for Saturday's game versus the Celtics, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels has been upgraded from probable to available Saturday after missing New Orleans' last 21 games due to a left knee injury. However, the 20-year-old guard will likely operate under a minutes restriction.
Mar 29, 2024
Expected to return Saturday
Daniels (knee) is probable for Saturday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Daniels is expected to suit up for an NBA game for the first time since Feb. 9. He recently returned to action in the G League, posting 22 points, seven steals, six assists and a rebound in 24 minutes for the Birmingham Squadron on Wednesday. The second-year wing will likely be limited to a minor bench role if he gets the green light Saturday.
Mar 27, 2024
Remains out Thursday
Daniels (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Bucks, Jim Eichenhofer of the Pelicans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will miss a 21st straight game Thursday as he continues his recovery from meniscus surgery on his left knee, but he appears to be nearing a return to action for the Pelicans. The second-year player was able to see game action Wednesday with the Pelicans' G League affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron. In 24 minutes with the Squadron, Daniels notched 22 points (7-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven steals, six assists and one rebound across 24 minutes in a 115-99 loss to the Oklahoma City Blue. The Pelicans likely don't want him to play consecutive days and will keep him out Thursday, but Daniels could be back in action for Saturday's matchup with the Celtics. With Brandon Ingram (knee) in danger of missing the rest of the regular season, Daniels could have the opportunity to take on a sizable rotational role once he's back in action and fully reconditioned.
Mar 27, 2024
Remains out
Daniels (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Bucks, Jim Eichenhofer of the Pelicans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels hasn't played since Feb. 9 while recovering from meniscus surgery but recently went to the G League as part of his rehab, so he's making progress. However, it remains unclear when he'll be cleared for game action. Daniels' next chance will come versus Boston on Saturday.
Mar 26, 2024
Set to work with G League club
The Pelicans assigned Daniels (knee) to the G League's Birmingham Squadron on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Daniels hasn't played since Feb. 9 while recovering from knee surgery, but he'll have a chance to work with the G League club in the coming days. He'll be available for Birmingham's game against the Blue on Wednesday, and he appears to be trending toward a return to game action for the parent club in the near future.
Mar 25, 2024
Remains out
Daniels (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Daniels continues to recover from left knee surgery and hasn't played since Feb. 9. The team hasn't released an official return timetable since saying he'd be re-evaluated in four weeks in mid-February.
Mar 23, 2024
Another absence coming
Daniels (knee) is out for Sunday's game versus the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Daniels' absence streak will extend to 19 games Sunday while recovering from left knee surgery. His next chance to suit up is Tuesday's matchup with the Thunder.
Mar 22, 2024
Remains out against Miami
Daniels (knee) won't play in Friday's game versus the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will miss his 18th straight game Friday while recovering from left knee surgery. However, the 20-year-old guard has returned to practice and appears to be nearing a return to action.
Mar 18, 2024
Returns to practice
Daniels (knee) was able to go through a full practice Monday, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite Daniels' availability Monday, coach Willie Green stressed that the Pelicans will continue to be cautious with the guard. Based on Green's comments, it's likely that Daniels won't return to action until at least March 26 when the Pelicans return home to face the Thunder.
Mar 4, 2024
Gets shots up Monday
Daniels (knee) was spotted getting shots up following Monday's practice, Erin Summers of Bally Sports New Orleans reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels underwent successful surgery in mid-February to address a meniscus tear in his left knee and was expected to miss at least a month. While he was getting shots up, the second-year wing was stationary and working on floaters in the lane, suggesting he has a long way to go before he's cleared for game action.
Feb 15, 2024
Undergoes successful surgery
The Pelicans announced Thursday that Daniels underwent a successful meniscectomy on his left knee and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
ANALYSIS
Daniels suffered a meniscus tear in his left knee recently and will be sidelined at least a month following his procedure. While Thursday's update offers slightly more clarity regarding his return timetable, a better idea of his status should come into focus once he's re-evaluated. He could be in the mix to return late in the regular season or for a potential postseason run, but Jordan Hawkins and Jose Alvarado are candidates to see increased work while Daniels is sidelined.
Feb 12, 2024
Out indefinitely with meniscus tear
Daniels has suffered a meniscus tear in his left knee and is out indefinitely, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
This is a tough blow for New Orleans, as Daniels has made a tremendous impact with his playmaking and defensive ability. He's likely to miss several weeks depending on his treatment plan, but there should be more clarity in the coming days. In the meantime, the Pelicans could turn to Jordan Hawkins and Jose Alvarado to soak up some backcourt minutes.
Feb 11, 2024
Out for Monday
Daniels (knee) will not play Monday versus Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will be sidelined by left knee soreness for the second consecutive game, marking his only two absences of the season. Jose Alvarado, Naji Marshall and Jordan Hawkins played enlarged roles Saturday and will likely continue crowdsourcing Daniels' role.
Feb 10, 2024
Won't play Saturday
Daniels is out for Saturday's game versus the Trail Blazers due to left knee soreness.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will miss his first game of the season Saturday due to a knee injury. Jordan Hawkins is a candidate to receive increased playing time in his absence. Daniels' next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Memphis.
Feb 8, 2024
Records four steals in reserve role
Daniels amassed 10 points (5-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist, two blocks and four steals across 22 minutes during Wednesday's 117-106 win over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Daniels' participation during the third quarter gave CJ McCollum the rest he needed to mount a stellar run in the fourth quarter. Daniels is enjoying a slightly bugger role in New Orleans, but it would take a significant injury on the roster for the 20-year-old to have a lasting impact. He may gain fantasy relevancy later in his career, but he doesn't warrant consideration in his current role.
Feb 2, 2024
Moves to bench
Daniels will return to the bench for Friday's game against the Spurs, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
The Pelicans are missing Herbert Jones (thigh), but they will keep Trey Murphy with the starters with Zion Williamson (foot) back in the lineup. Daniels had nine points (4-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt), two rebounds, three assists and one steal in 24 minutes of a spot start against Houston on Wednesday.
Feb 1, 2024
Logs 24 minutes in spot start
Daniels ended Wednesday's 110-99 victory over the Rockets with nine points (4-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt), two rebounds, three assists and one steal in 24 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Daniels moved into the starting lineup with both Herbert Jones (thigh) and Zion Williamson (foot) ruled out prior to tipoff. Despite the promotion, Daniels managed just modest production during his 24 minutes on the floor. Although his future is bright, Daniels is not someone who needs to be prioritized outside of deeper foamts.
Jan 31, 2024
Starting Wednesday
Daniels will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockets, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
With Herb Jones (thigh) and Zion Williamson (foot) hitting the sidelines, Daniels will move into the starting five and will be joined by CJ McCollum, Brandon Ingram, Trey Murphy and Jonas Valanciunas. If you need some dimes and defensive stats, Daniels could be worth a look.
Jan 27, 2024
Held in check once again
Daniels logged five points (2-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt), one rebound and one block over 17 minutes during Friday's 107-83 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Daniels totaled just four points over his last four appearances and had slightly more success on the scoreboard Friday. However, he was held without an assist for the first time since Dec. 31, and he didn't have much success on the boards. The 20-year-old had a stretch of encouraging performances in early January but has cooled off recently.
Jan 15, 2024
Back to second unit
Daniels will move back to the bench for Monday's game against Dallas.
ANALYSIS
No surprises here, as the Pelicans are getting all four of CJ McCollum, Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson and Trey Murphy back in the mix after they were rested Saturday against Dallas. In addition to Daniels, Naji Marshall and Jordan Hawkins will rejoin the second unit. Daniels fared well in his fill-in start Saturday, scoring 10 points (4-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with six rebounds and seven assists in 38 minutes.
Jan 14, 2024
Solid in spot start
Daniels had 10 points (4-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and seven assists in 38 minutes during Saturday's 118-108 victory over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Daniels, making his first start since Dec. 13, chipped in versatile contributions with a huge workload while CJ McCollum (ankle), Brandon Ingram (Achilles), Trey Murphy (knee) and Zion Williamson (rest) were inactive. Daniels remains far too inconsistent to trust for fantasy purposes, as he has hit double-digit scoring just three times across his past 20 games.
Jan 13, 2024
Enters starting lineup
Daniels is in the starting lineup to face the Mavericks on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will move to the starting lineup as the Pelicans will play Saturday's game extremely depleted -- Brandon Ingram (Achilles), Zion Williamson (rest), CJ McCollum (ankle) and Trey Murphy (knee) are all taking the night off for the second leg of this back-to-back set. Daniels has made 13 starts this season and has averaged 7.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game in those contests.
Jan 8, 2024
Solid showing versus Kings
Daniels provided 14 points (6-6 FG, 2-2 3Pt), five rebounds and six assists in 29 minutes during Sunday's 133-100 victory over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
This was one of the best performances of the season for Daniels, and it was timely for New Orleans considering they were without Zion Williamson (quadriceps) and Jose Alvarado (illness). Daniels' minutes are trending up in the new year, and over his last four games he's averaging 7.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.0 three-pointers in 24.5 minutes.
Dec 27, 2023
Pops for 11 points in loss
Daniels registered 11 points (3-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), one assist and two steals in 19 minutes during Tuesday's 116-115 overtime loss to Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Daniels scored double-digits for the first time in well over a month, adding a pair of steals in just 19 minutes. With the Pelicans now relatively healthy, Daniels' role has been reduced significantly in recent times, playing limited minutes off the bench. He has shown that he can put up 12-team numbers when handed meaningful minutes. However, as a depth piece, he is not worth rostering outside of deeper formats.
Dec 15, 2023
Returns to bench
Daniels isn't in the starting five for Friday's game versus Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will be replaced by Zion Williamson in the starting lineup Friday. Daniels is averaging 3.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 15.4 minutes across his previous five appearances coming off the bench this season.
Dec 13, 2023
Gets start sans Williamson
Daniels will start Wednesday's game against the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Daniels started 12 games earlier in the season when CJ McCollum was out, but he'll take Zion Williamson's (ankle) spot Wednesday. As a starter, Daniels has averaged 8.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.9 steals in 31.0 minutes per game.
Dec 4, 2023
Returns to bench
Daniels is coming off the bench Monday against the Kings, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels drew a spot start Saturday with CJ McCollum unable to travel with the team, but he'll head back to the bench Monday. He hasn't been productive in his last two contests off the bench, totaling six points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block through 26 minutes.
Dec 3, 2023
Limited in spot start
Daniels amassed seven points (3-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 22 minutes during Saturday's 124-118 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Daniels moved into the starting lineup Saturday, replacing CJ McCollum who is not yet able to travel with the team as a result of his recent chest injury. Despite starting, Daniels was limited to just 22 minutes, producing very little outside two steals. With the Pelicans nearing full health, Daniels is going to find it hard to see enough playing time to be considered a sustainable fantasy asset.
Dec 2, 2023
Joins starting five
Daniels will move into the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Bulls, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
C.J. McCollum is taking the night off for rest for the second leg of the back-to-back set. Daniels has fared well as a starter this season, posting averages of 8.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.9 steals.
Nov 29, 2023
Returns to bench
Daniels isn't in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game versus the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
After missing the previous 12 games with a collapsed right lung, CJ McCollum will replace Daniels in the starting lineup Wednesday. Daniels is averaging 7.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals in 22.6 minutes across his previous seven appearances coming off the bench this season.
Nov 26, 2023
Tallies six steals in loss
Daniels totaled six points (3-14 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds, five assists, one block and six steals over 34 minutes during Saturday's 105-100 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Daniels was a beast on the defensive end despite the loss, racking up a career-high six steals to go with one block. Unfortunately, he shot just 3-of-14 from the field, somewhat negating his defensive masterclass. Nonetheless, he remains a must-roster player across most formats, at least until CJ McCollum (chest) returns from his injury.
Nov 25, 2023
Continues stint in starting lineup
Daniels amassed seven points (3-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt), eight rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal in 36 minutes during Friday's 116-106 victory over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
The 2022 first-round pick has failed to meet expectations during his tenure with the Clippers, but that is partly due to a lack of playing time. He has an opportunity to impress during CJ McCollum's (chest) absence, but Daniels hasn't done much with his time in the starting lineup. Through nine starts, the Aussie is averaging 9.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.7 steals. The multi-category input is somewhat encouraging, but his fantasy outlook is mediocre at best. Jordan Hawkins has performed far better in McCollum's place and is currently the guard with the highest upside in this scenario.
Nov 19, 2023
Logs team-high 37 minutes
Daniels produced 13 points (6-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt), six assists, five rebounds and one steal in 37 minutes during Saturday's loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Daniels continues to start at point guard for the Pelicans, putting together the best stretch of his young career. Over the past two weeks, he has put up averages of 10.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.1 three-pointers, good enough for top-75 value in standard leagues. As long as he is running with the opening unit, Daniels needs to be rostered in all leagues.
Nov 18, 2023
Solid all-around effort Friday
Daniels notched 10 points (4-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals over 33 minutes during Friday's 115-110 win over Denver.
ANALYSIS
Daniels has done an admirable job of filling for CJ McCollum (chest) and continues to make an impact on both ends of the court. He has scored in double digits in four consecutive appearances and is averaging 10.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.2 steals per game since moving to a starting role.
Nov 15, 2023
Solid showing in blowout win
Daniels ended Tuesday's 131-110 victory over the Mavericks with 10 points (4-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt), two rebounds, six assists and three steals in 29 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Daniels has drawn four straight starts with CJ McCollum (ribs) sidelined. During that stretch, the second-year wing has averaged 11.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.0 steals in 33.0 minutes per game. With McCollum slated to miss extended time, Daniels should have a clear path to consistent playing time moving froward.
Nov 13, 2023
Sets career high with 17 points
Daniels generated 17 points (7-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt), nine rebounds and four assists across 31 minutes in Sunday's 136-124 loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
The second-year player picked up his third straight start while the Pelicans were without CJ McCollum (chest), Herbert Jones (leg) and Trey Murphy (knee) and made the most of the opportunity, setting a new career high in scoring. A 43 percent shooter from the field and 32.2 percent shooter from downtown through his first 69 NBA games, Daniels' scoring performance from Sunday probably won't be easily replicable, but he'll have some value in the short term for fantasy managers in need of aid in the rebounds, assists and steals categories. He's averaging 7.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.7 steals through his first three starts.
Nov 9, 2023
Balanced outing in first start
Daniels contributed seven points (3-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds, five assists and four steals in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 122-101 loss to Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Daniels earned his first start of the 2023-24 season Wednesday due to New Orleans dealing with the absence of six players, ending with a team-high steals mark and finishing second in assists in a balanced showcase. Daniels has been a nice contributor mainly off the Pelicans bench this season, averaging 7.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.4 steals over 23.6 minutes in eight contests.
Nov 8, 2023
Starting Wednesday
Daniels will join the first unit for Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will make his first start of 2023 with six rotation pieces -- including three starters -- sidelined. In seven games, Daniels has logged 7.0 points, 4.1 rebounds 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals/blocks across 22.4 minutes.
Nov 2, 2023
Contributes to victory
Daniels ended Wednesday's 110-106 victory over Oklahoma City with eight points (3-10 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-4 FT), four rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal over 25 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Daniels recorded season highs in points, minutes and blocks in Wednesday's win. The second-year guard has seen an uptick in his 17.7 minutes per contest from last year and is now averaging 22.5 minutes across his four appearances in 2023-24. However, Daniels is shooting a poor 35.7 percent from the field and 16.7 percent from three.
Oct 19, 2023
Team option exercised
The Pelicans exercised the third-year team option on Daniels' contract Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Daniels had a somewhat limited workload during his rookie season last year, averaging 3.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 17.7 minutes per game. However, he had some encouraging performances during Summer League play this year, and it's possible he carves out a larger role during his second professional season. Following Thursday's move, he'll be under contract with the Pelicans through the 2024-25 season.
Jul 10, 2023
Fills stat sheet
Daniels totaled 17 points (6-18 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 15 rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and two steals over 29 minutes in Sunday's 94-86 victory over Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Daniels struggled a bit with his shot but still produced an impressive stat line. He was stellar on the boards and flashed his playmaking ability while playing his usual stifling defense. After playing just 17.7 minutes per game in 59 appearances last season, Daniels could be in line for an increased role in his second season if he continues to contribute at a high level.
Jul 7, 2023
Plays well against Minnesota
Daniels amassed 18 points (6-14 FG, 0-4 3PT, 6-8 FT), five rebounds, three assists, four steals and one block in 31 minutes of Friday's 102-88 loss to Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
New Orleans has a very inexperienced roster for the Summer League, but Daniels played well anyways and looked like a good fit alongside 14th overall pick Jordan Hawkins. Daniels appeared in 59 games for the Pelicans during his rookie season, averaging 3.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 17.7 minutes. He's projected to be the backup point guard behind C.J. McCollum this season, and Friday he looked like he is up for the challenge.
Mar 28, 2023
Scores eight points off bench
Daniels amassed eight points (3-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt), three rebounds and four assists across 23 minutes during Monday's 124-90 win over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Daniels saw increased playing time during the blowout loss and scored his most points since Jan. 22. Coming into the contest, the rookie first-round pick had averaged just 1.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 14.4 minutes, so it's safe to assume his playing time Monday was simply an outlier.
Mar 15, 2023
Scoreless in limited action
Daniels chipped in zero points (0-1 FG), two rebounds and two assists over 11 minutes during Tuesday's 123-108 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Daniels played his fewest minutes since March 1 and was held scoreless for the first time since Feb. 25. Over his last seven appearances, he's averaging just 2.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 16.7 minutes per game, so barring numerous injuries, fantasy managers can safely leave Daniels on the waiver wire moving forward.
Feb 25, 2023
Just four minutes in return
Daniels had two assists in four minutes during Saturday's 128-106 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Daniels returned to action after missing 12 straight games with an ankle injury. While it was great to see him out there, it took until garbage time for him to actually get on the floor. The Pelicans are in a hole right now, meaning changes could well be on the way. While Daniels does not need to be on the radar in standard formats, managers in deeper formats should keep an eye on his playing time moving forward.
Feb 25, 2023
Available Saturday
Daniels (ankle) is available for Saturday's matchup against the Knicks, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie will be available following a 12-game absence. He was a regular part of the rotation beginning in November, averaging 4.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 21.5 minutes across his past 34 appearances. However, the team added Josh Richardson at the deadline, which could cut into Daniels' role.
Feb 24, 2023
Questionable for Saturday
Daniels (ankle) is questionable for Saturday's matchup against the Knicks, Jim Eichenhofer of the Pelicans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels, who hasn't appeared in a game since Jan. 24, was expected to return from a lengthy absence due to an ankle sprain Thursday, but he was a late scratch ahead of the contest and may sit out again Saturday. His prolonged absence should allow Josh Richardson, Trey Murphy and Naji Marshall to continue garnering solid roles for New Orleans.
Feb 23, 2023
Ruled out Thursday
Daniels (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Daniels was initially listed as probable for Thursday's matchup but was downgraded to questionable a few hours before tipoff. He'll miss a 12th consecutive game due to his right ankle sprain, and his next chance to suit up will be Saturday against the Knicks.
Feb 23, 2023
Downgraded to questionable
Daniels (ankle) is questionable for Thursday's game versus the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Daniels being downgraded from probable to questionable Thursday due to a right ankle sprain is a bad sign for his availability against Toronto. If he's unable to suit up, his next chance to play is Saturday's matchup with the Knicks.
Feb 22, 2023
Likely to suit up against Toronto
Daniels (ankle) is probable for Thursday's game versus the Raptors, Jim Eichenhofer of the Pelicans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels is expected to make his return Thursday after missing the previous 11 games with a right ankle sprain. The rookie guard will likely compete with Josh Richardson and Naji Marshall for bench opportunities.
Feb 14, 2023
Won't play Wednesday
Daniels (ankle) is out for Wednesday's game versus the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will miss his 11th straight game Wednesday due to a right ankle sprain. His next chance to suit up will be after the All-Star break on Feb. 23.
Feb 13, 2023
Remains out Monday
Daniels (ankle) is listed as out for Monday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will miss his ninth consecutive game due to the right ankle sprain, and the Pelicans will more than likely keep him sidelined for Wednesday's contest against the Lakers to give him some additional time to heal up over the All-Star break. Whenever he's back to full health, Daniels may not have a spot available in the rotation, as New Orleans' other guards and wings are healthy and the Pelicans have since supplemented the position group with the addition of veteran Josh Richardson at the trade deadline.
Feb 9, 2023
Out Friday
Daniels (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's contest against Cleveland, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels continues to deal with a right ankle sprain and he'll miss his ninth consecutive game Friday. There have yet to be any updates on Daniels' status since head coach Willie Green shared on Jan. 25 that the rookie would be "out for a little bit of time."
Feb 6, 2023

Feb 3, 2023

Daniels (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's matchup against the Lakers, Jim Eichenhofer of the Pelicans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will miss a sixth straight game Saturday due to a right ankle sprain. Head coach Willie Green said Jan. 25 that the rookie would be "out for a little bit of time," but the team hasn't provided an update since. Daniels' next chance to play will arrive Sunday against the Kings.
Feb 1, 2023
Still out
Daniels (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Mavericks, Jim Eichenhofer of the Pelicans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will miss a fifth straight game Thursday due to a right ankle sprain. Head coach Willie Green said Jan. 25 that Daniels would be "out for a little bit of time," but the team hasn't provided any updates since. Daniels' next chance to suit up will come Saturday against the Lakers.
Jan 25, 2023
Will be out 'a little bit of time'
Coach Willie Green noted that Daniels (ankle) will be "out for a little bit of time," Erin Summers of Bally Sports New Orleans reports.
ANALYSIS
While Green's comments are vague, it seems safe to assume the rookie will be out for at least a week. The Pelicans will finally be getting Brandon Ingram (toe) back Wednesday, so Daniels' absence won't be felt dramatically. Daniels has shown upside this season, averaging 4.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 0.9 steals in 19.9 minutes.
Jan 25, 2023
Ruled out Wednesday
Daniels (ankle) has been ruled out Wednesday against the Timberwolves, Jim Eichenhofer of the Pelicans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels exited Tuesday's game against the Nuggets due to a right ankle injury, and he'll be forced to miss at least one additional matchup after being diagnosed with a sprain. Devonte' Graham and Garrett Temple are candidates to see increased run against Minnesota.
Jan 24, 2023
Will not return
Daniels will not return to Tuesday's game against the Nuggets due to a right ankle injury, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels returned to a reserve role for this game ater starting the previous six. The team is on the first night of a back-to-back set, so his status for Wednesday's tilt against the Timberwolves is certainly up in the air.
Jan 24, 2023
Won't return Tuesday
Daniels won't return to Tuesday's game against the Nuggets due to an ankle injury, Erin Summers of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The loss of Daniels will affect a Pelicans team that's already thin when it comes to depth, and his absence will open up minutes for names such as Trey Murphy or perhaps Garrett Temple. Daniels should be considered as questionable for Wednesday's game against Minnesota.
Jan 24, 2023
Moves back to bench
Daniels is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
The 19-year-old averaged 6.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 28.8 minutes as a starter over the past six games, but he'll shift back to the bench Tuesday. Jaxson Hayes will make his second start of the season in place of Daniels.
Jan 23, 2023
Provides quality all-around line
Daniels finished with 11 points (4-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block across 30 minutes in Sunday's 100-96 loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
During his ongoing six-game run in the starting five, Daniels has taking on light usage while deferring to his teammates, but he's still proven useful enough for those in deeper leagues who have rostered or streamed him for steals, rebounds and assists. Sunday's outing marked one of his best all-around fantasy performances yet, but Daniels still looks set to move back to the bench and lose minutes before long. Brandon Ingram (toe) and Naji Marshall (toe) rank ahead of Daniels in the rotation when healthy, and both players look on track to return to action during the upcoming week.
Jan 16, 2023
Career-high four steals in loss
Daniels closed with four points (2-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists and four steals across 29 minutes during Monday's 113-103 loss to Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Daniels had a career-high four steals Monday, continuing to impress despite limited offensive range. He has now played at least 25 minutes in three straight games, sliding into a larger role with the Pelicans missing a couple of key pieces. While he does have the makings of a very good role player, he isn't quite there as a viable 12-team asset. Managers should view him as nothing more than a situational streamer.
Jan 11, 2023
Starting Wednesday
Daniels will enter the starting five for Wednesday's matchup with the Celtics, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels will get the starting nod Wednesday with Herbert Jones (back) absent. in five starts this season, Daniels has averaged 5.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists across 26.7 minutes.
Dec 28, 2022
Available against Minnesota
Daniels (illness) is available for Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Daniels was unavailable Monday against the Pacers but practiced Tuesday and will be back in action after a one-game absence. He's averaged 3.8 points and 3.0 rebounds in 19.2 minutes per game over his last six appearances.
Dec 27, 2022
Will be probable for Wednesday
Head coach Willie Green said Daniels (illness) practiced Tuesday and will be listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels and Trey Murphy both missed Monday's game against the Pacers, but they both practiced Tuesday and should return to action Wednesday. Before his absence, Daniels posted 3.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 19.2 minutes over his previous six appearances.
Dec 26, 2022
Won't play Monday
Daniels (illness) is out for Monday's game versus the Pacers, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels has been downgraded from questionable to out Monday with a non-COVID illness. With Brandon Ingram (toe), Trey Murphy (illness) and Herbert Jones (COVID-19) also out, Devonte' Graham and Kira Lewis will likely see extended minutes. Daniels' next chance to play is Wednesday's matchup with Minnesota.
Dec 26, 2022
Questionable with illness
Daniels is listed as questionable for Monday's game against Indiana due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Daniels has not been ruled out, but his status will be worth monitoring closely throughout the day -- especially with Zion Williamson (conditioning) doubtful, Herbert Jones (COVID-19 protocols) out and Brandon Ingram (toe) also sidelined. If the rookie is cleared to play, he could be set for an increased role -- and perhaps even a cameo in the starting lineup.
Dec 13, 2022
Returns to bench unit
Daniels isn't in the starting five for Tuesday's game against the Jazz, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Herbert Jones will replace Daniels in the starting lineup Tuesday. Daniels averaged 5.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 26.6 minutes across his last five games while starting.
Dec 11, 2022
Near double-double in extended time
Daniels recorded 11 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), one rebound, eight assists and one steal in 36 minutes during Sunday's 129-124 overtime win over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Daniels finished two assists shy of posting a double-double, tallying his highest point and assist total since Nov. 30. Daniels has scored 10 more points on three occasions this season, now having dished out five or more assists in three times.
Dec 2, 2022
Gets first career start
Daniels will start Friday's game against the Spurs.

He continued on that pace over the final two quarters with another five boards and six points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field as the Pelicans continued to run away with the game. Plays career-high 25 minutes
Daniels accumulated nine points (3-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and six assists across 25 minutes during Friday's 132-111 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Daniels stepped into a larger role, thanks in part to the scoreboard, along with injuries to other players. The rookie has impressed during limited playing time this season, continuing that trend in the loss. Even with a couple of key pieces potentially on the sideline, Daniels is unlikely to see enough playing time to warrant attention outside of slightly deeper formats.

Ready to roll Wednesday

ANALYSIS
Daniels previously held a probable tag on the injury report, but he's now confirmed he will make his return from a two-game absence. Probable Wednesday

Returns to practice
Pelicans coach Willie Green said Tuesday that Daniels (ankle) "had a good practice" and is trending towards being available Wednesday, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports.

Ruled out Sunday
Daniels (ankle) will not suit up in Sunday's affair with the Clippers, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels suffered a sprained ankle early in the season that caused him to miss the second and third games of the year before returning earlier this week and re-aggravating the injury and sitting out the Pelicans' most recent contest. Although Daniels doesn't figure to play a massive role for this uber-talented New Orleans team, his absence could spell more minutes for the likes of Devonte' Graham and Trey Murphy.

Out Friday
Pelicans head coach Willie Green said Daniels (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's contest against the Suns, Kellan Olson of ArizonaSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After posting 11 points, three rebounds, three steals, two assists and one block during Tuesday's win over Dallas, Daniels landed on the injury report with an ankle issue and was deemed questionable for Friday's contest. Questionable for Friday

ANALYSIS
Daniels saw plenty of action in his second game playing in the NBA on Tuesday. The guard logged 11 points, three rebounds, three steals, two assists and one block in 22 minutes against Dallas. After picking up a left ankle sprain at some point during Tuesday's contest, Daniels could be forced to miss a game. Flashes upside in gritty win
Daniels closed with 11 points (4-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals across 22 minutes during Tuesday's 113-111 victory over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Daniels, along with a number of his teammates, saw extended run in the win, showcasing his defensive upside while also chipping in offensively. He is clearly a part of their long-term plans and so any early-season exposure is going to be good in terms of expediting his development. If the team continues to be without Zion Williamson, Herb Jones and Brandon Ingram, Daniels could be worth grabbing, even in 12-team formats.

Set to see extended action
Pelicans coach Willie Green said that Daniels will get more minutes in Tuesday's game versus the Mavericks, Erin Summers of Bally Sports New Orleans reports.

Oct 11, 2022
Questionable for Wednesday
Daniels (ankle) holds a questionable tag for Wednesday's preseason tilt versus the Heat, Erin Summers of Bally Sports New Orleans reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels was deemed day-to-day following a limited practice session Tuesday, so it's not surprising that he's not a guaranteed to suit up Wednesday. If he can't go, Friday's preseason finale versus the Hawks would mark his last opportunity to get in some action prior to Opening Night next week.
Oct 11, 2022
Considered day-to-day
Pelicans head coach Willie Green said Daniels (ankle) was limited during Tuesday's practice and is considered day-to-day, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels tweaked his ankle early in Sunday's preseason matchup against the Spurs and never returned. While it's encouraging to see the rookie first-round pick back in the mix, the Pelicans will likely proceed with immense caution after Daniels dealt with an ankle injury that knocked him out for the majority of Summer League action.

Departs with ankle injury
Daniels left Sunday's preseason game against the Spurs due to a right ankle injury and will not return, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Shortly after checking into the game in the first quarter, Daniels appeared to tweak his right ankle and was taken back to the locker room for further evaluation. ESPN's Andrew Lopez notes that the injury does not appear to be serious, but it will nonetheless be worth monitoring ahead of Wednesday's exhibition against Miami. Back in July, an ankle injury also kept Daniels out of action for nearly the entire Las Vegas Summer League.
Jul 11, 2022
Likely done for Summer League
Daniels is unlikely to return to Summer League due to an ankle injury, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Daniels' injury isn't considered serious, so he should be ready by the time training camp rolls around. The team will take precautions with the No. 8 overall pick, who finishes Summer League with just one point over eight minutes in his lone appearance for the Pelicans.
