The All-Star break couldn't come soon enough for Wagner, who appears as though he could do with some much-needed rest. His role remains secure, so managers will be hoping he can use the time off to refocus just in time for the fantasy playoffs.

The younger Wagner brother was red hot through the first couple weeks of January, but he's cooled off significantly since. The 21-year-old wing hasn't reached 20 points in any of the last nine games, averaging 14.1 points, 4.7 boards, 3.7 assists, 1.3 threes and 0.9 steals over that stretch as his shot volume as ticked down. That downturn has coincided with Jonathan Isaac's return to the lineup, so it might take a trade that shakes up the roster, or an injury to another key rotation player, for Wagner to regain those lost attempts.

On the season, Wagner is averaging 18.1 points, 4.5 assists, 3.9 boards, 1.1 threes and 1.0 steals through 11 games, taking a modest step forward from his rookie year.

Wagner's previous season high for assists was six, but he crushed that total Wednesday to record the second double-double of his rookie season. He'll attempt to continue his strong debut campaign during the back-to-back set versus Charlotte and Dallas on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Wagner was listed as questionable ahead of the game with an ankle injury, but he was ultimately able to suit up. The Magic have a quick turnaround and face the Wizards on Sunday, so it'll be interesting to see if the Magic list the rookie on the injury report during the second half of a back-to-back.

If the rookie is sidelined, more minutes could be in store for Chuma Okeke and Moritz Wagner.

Wagner turned things around after a poor showing Sunday, continuing what has been a quietly productive rookie season. His role has certainly progressed to the point where he is arguably their most important player, at least on some nights. There are going to be some bumps in the road, as is typically the case with rookie players, but there is no reason he can't continue to put up mid-round value the rest of the way.

Wagner provided 38 points (12-20 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 10-10 FT), seven rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 38 minutes during Tuesday's 127-110 loss to the Bucks.

The Bucks were in control for virtually the entire night, but that didn't stop Wagner from going off for a new career high in points. His 10 free throw makes, and attempts, were also career bests. The No. 8 overall pick has now scored in double figures in 17 straight games, with seven 20-point outings during that span.

Wagner closed with 13 points (4-11 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-5 FT), two rebounds, one assist and two steals across 32 minutes during Sunday's 93-83 loss to Miami.

Wagner came back to Earth after posting an average of 22.5 points over the previous two games. His two rebounds also marked his third-worst season performance off the glass.

Wagner registered 25 points (10-24 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal over 36 minutes during Wednesday's 104-98 victory over Atlanta.

Wagner scored a team-high 25, led the Magic in minutes played and chipped in across the box score. The rookie has started all 32 games for the Magic thus far, faring well with high usage and a variety of co-starters. Over the past 10 games Wagner is averaging 18.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists.

Monday's scheduled game against the Raptors has been postponed, Blake Murphy of The Athletic reports.

The Magic currently have 12 players either injured or in the NBA's health and safety protocol, which has led to the NBA postponing their game against the Raptors on Monday. Wagner has been one of the best valued picks in this past year's draft, averaging 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 32.1 minutes per game. He'll look to avoid the injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against the Hawks.

Wagner racked up 14 points (4-14 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 11 rebounds, six assists and one steal across 28 minutes during Saturday's 100-93 win over the Nets.

Wagner posted his first double-double of the campaign, and while he struggled massively from the field, he still did enough to end up as one of Orlando's most productive players. He's now scored in double digits in 13 games in a row.

Wagner had 27 points (11-23 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one steal across 36 minutes during Friday's 115-105 loss to the Heat.

With the Magic missing several regulars due to injuries and COVID-19 protocols, Wagner stepped into a larger role and led the team in shot attempts in his 36 minutes of action. The rookie continues to be one of the surprises of the season and has now scored at least 20 points in three of his last four games. Over his last nine outings, he's up to 18.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.2 threes per game.

Wagner registered 20 points (8-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), seven rebounds and two assists in 39 minutes during Sunday's 106-94 loss to the Lakers.

The rookie ended just three rebounds away from putting up a double-double, and he continues to show why the Magic selected him in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft. Wagner has scored in double digits in 10 games in a row and is averaging 17.6 points during that span while also shooting 49.6 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from deep in that stretch.

Wagner contributed 20 points (8-10 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one block across 34 minutes during Saturday's 106-104 loss to Los Angeles.

Wagner registered his third 20-point game of the season Saturday. The performance also extended his double-digit scoring streak to nine games, and he's shooting over 50 percent from the field and 45 percent from three during this stretch.

Wagner finished Wednesday's 142-130 loss to Sacramento with 19 points (5-10 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 7-7 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one steal over 33 minutes.

The rookie once again impressed with a steady and controlled performance during which he knocked down half of his field-goal tries (including both attempts from three-point range) and all seven shots from the charity stripe. Wagner added six boards and four assists while turning the ball over only once. He has scored in double figures in eight straight games and is averaging 17.0 points on 47.7 percent shooting from the field while adding 5.5 boards and 4.6 assists over that span.

Wagner recorded 15 points (7-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt), four rebounds, six assists and three steals in 30 minutes during Monday's 126-95 loss to the Warriors.

Wagner led Orlando in assists in the contest while registering double-figure scoring for the seventh straight game. The rookie has been a solid source of dimes of late, dishing at least four assists in seven straight contests. He has been among the league's top first-year players, posting per-game averages of 13.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 three-pointers and 1.2 steals while shooting 44.0 percent from the field and 79.2 percent from the charity stripe.

Wagner racked up 27 points (11-24 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds, five assists and a steal over 38 minutes in a 101-96 loss to the 76ers on Monday.

Wagner easily surpassed his previous high in attempted field goals (18) and led all scorers in the contest. Wagner hadn't hit the 20-point threshold in nearly a month, but nonetheless has now strung together four consecutive solid outings. He became the sixth Orlando rookie to ever record a 25/5/5 game. Wagner will look to stay hot Wednesday against Denver.

Wagner contributed 16 points (7-12 FG, 2-2 3Pt), seven rebounds and four assists over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 106-99 loss to the Hornets.

Wagner combined for three points (1-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt), four rebounds and three assists in the previous two games against Milwaukee, but he bounce back against Charlotte. The 20-year-old has topped 20 points only once through 20 games this season, and he also has yet to record double-digit rebounds.

Wagner posted 19 points (7-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-5 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one block in 35 minutes Monday in the Magic's 129-111 loss to the Hawks.

After maxing out at 10 points while shooting just 32.1 percent from the field across the Magic's last five games, Wagner stepped up to provide some solid complementary scoring behind lead guard Cole Anthony (29 points). Since nearly 40 percent of Wagner's field-goal attempts this season have come from beyond the arc, his offense will likely be volatile from game to game, but his steady 30-plus-minute role and ability to pick up steals on a consistent basis at least gives him a decent floor when his shot isn't falling.

Wagner finished Wednesday's loss to the Nets with 10 points (4-11 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, six steals and one assist across 32 minutes.

Wagner was a nightmare for the Nets' offense Wednesday as he was able to gather six steals, a new season-high for the rookie. The eighth-overall pick has been very effective offensively as well as defensively, which was seen tonight. Wagner has now scored in double-figures in 10 of 12 games and has recorded at least one steal in all but one game.

Wagner produced 28 points (10-18 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 3-5 FT) four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot across 31 minutes in Monday's 115-97 win over the Magic.

The rookie made the highlight reel with a towering dunk over three Timberwolves in the victory, adding to his best game as a pro. The Michigan product is living up to the hype after clocking in as the Magic's first-round pick, and the combination of size, speed and opportunity is causing Wagner's fantasy stock to soar.

Wagner recorded 19 points (8-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and one steal across 28 minutes during a 110-103 loss Saturday at Detroit.

Wagner recorded his career-best point tally Saturday. Though the forward is an inexperienced player, he plays alongside teammates that are not guaranteed to be primary scoring options. The ambiguous situation could bode well for him. Wagner is averaging 13.9 points, second among Magic players and only behind Cole Anthony's close 17.7 tally.

Wagner contributed 15 points (6-13 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four assists, two rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot across 27 minutes in Monday's 107-90 loss to the Heat.

Wagner is getting a lot of minutes with the new-look Magic, but his fantasy outlook is uncertain. As long as Wagner and Wendell Carter are on the court together, they negatively impact each other's fantasy potential because they are serving a similar role. The only difference is that Carter will provide more rebounds in certain situations, while Wagner will see more scoring opportunities. Both players are inexpensive in DFS formats but are tough to depend on in seasonal leagues due to their negative correlation.

Wagner finished Sunday's win over the Knicks with 10 points (4-11 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The rookie has now started and played at least 32 minutes in each of his first three NBA appearances, which bodes well for his longer-term value as the Magic push through a rebuilding season. Wagner's role could dissipate when Chuma Okeke (hip) returns from injury, but for now he looks to be solidified as the Magic's nominal starting small forward within their two-center lineup featuring Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter.

Wagner will start in Wednesday's season opener against the Spurs.

The No. 8 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft will make his first regular season start in Orlando's season-opener on Wednesday. As a result, Terrence Ross will come off the bench.

Wagner is starting during Wednesday's contest against the Celtics.

The Michigan product has averaged 20 minutes per game during his preseason action and is getting the start for Orlando's last exhibition contest. Wagner hasn't quite impressed yet, averaging just 3.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, but will look to continue to get experience in his second start of the preseason.

Wagner will come off the bench for Wednesday's preseason game against the Pelicans, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports.

With his brother Moritz Wagner picking up the start on Wednesday as the Magic experiment with different lineup combinations, Wagner will shift to the bench. He could be in the mix to start in the regular season if he continues to impress during the preseason.
