Barnes has been heavily criticized this season since he's not producing at a high level despite being one of the most experienced players on the Spurs roster, but he certainly made an impact in this game. The veteran forward recorded season-high marks in both points and rebounds en route to his first double-double in 2024-25. He might be trending in the right direction after recording back-to-back games with at least 20 points while hitting the 10-point plateau in six of his last eight appearances.

Outside of deeper formats, Barnes is not someone who needs to be rostered.

Statistically, Barnes has dropped to being the fifth-best scorer for the Kings this season, averaging 11.1 points over 29.8 minutes per game.

Barnes ended with 19 points (8-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and one steal in 34 minutes during Monday's 143-131 victory over Washington.

Barnes didn't do anything -- outside of a steal -- other than scoring in this game, but given the contest turned out to be closer than many expected, his contributions were valued as the Kings brushed off the challenge of a combative Wizards team. Barnes has been inconsistent with his scoring figures and has reached double-digit points in just four of his last nine games, and he will continue handling a secondary role in an offense led by two established stars in De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

Barnes put up two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt), one rebound and one assist over 19 minutes during Tuesday's 119-99 loss to the Clippers.

Barnes' production over the course of the season has been very up and down thus far, with Tuesday's game being his season low in scoring. Over his last 10 contests prior to Tuesday night, Barnes is averaging 12.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.3 blocks through 32.4 minutes, so expect him to get back on track Thursday against Oklahoma City.

Barnes supplied 18 points (7-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal over 33 minutes during Friday's 124-111 win over the Timberwolves.

The veteran forward has had to settle for a secondary role in the Kings' offense to begin the season as De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis dominate the ball, but Barnes has still scored at least 12 points in four straight games. His 12.6 points per game is his lowest average since 2015-16 however, and his 8.8 FG attempts per game is his lowest volume since 2014-15. Barring an injury to one of the team's younger stars, Barnes' role doesn't figure to grow.

Barnes notched 22 points (6-13 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT) and three rebounds across 41 minutes during Wednesday's 117-112 loss to the Pelicans.

Barnes was efficient from the field en route to his highest-scoring outing since the regular-season opener. The veteran's 13 shot attempts were also his most since Opening Night and marked just the fourth time this season he's hoisted double-digit attempts. Barnes' increased offensive activity was likely due to Keegan Murray's (back) absence. It's unclear how long Murray will be sidelined, but Barnes figures to see an uptick in production until the second-year forward is cleared to return.

Barnes recorded 13 points (5-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt), one rebound, two assists and four steals across 39 minutes during Wednesday's 125-110 victory over the Lakers.

Barnes was held to single-digit scoring totals in his last two appearances but bounced back Wednesday while logging double-digit field-goal attempts for just the second time this year. The 31-year-old also tallied a season-high four steals in the comfortable win. Barnes has been relatively inconsistent early in the 2023-24 campaign and is averaging 11.4 points and 2.9 rebounds in 30.9 minutes per game.

Barnes finished with three points (1-6 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and one assist over 22 minutes during Monday's 122-97 loss to Houston.

This was easily Barnes' worst game of the season as the Kings fell to 2-4. De'Aaron Fox (ankle) being out should in theory mean more production for Barnes, so hopefully he can get himself going against Portland on Wednesday.

Barnes registered 33 points (11-16 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal over 33 minutes in Wednesday's 130-114 win over the Jazz.

Barnes shot 10 of 11 from the floor in the first half to help the Kings build a double-digit lead heading into the break. He cooled down in the second half but still finished the night as the leading scorer in the game. Barnes is playing his fifth full season with the Kings after being traded from the Mavericks in the 2018-19 season and signed a three-year, $54 million contract extension over the offseason. His veteran presence and versatility were key for the Kings' postseason run last year and he will serve as a stable, complimentary piece in the starting lineup beside All-Stars De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

Barnes tallied 15 points (5-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal in 21 minutes during Wednesday's 109-101 preseason loss to the Lakers.

Barnes was efficient from beyond the arc Wednesday and posted the second-highest scoring total on the team, but he was unable to generate much production in other areas during the loss. The 31-year-old appeared in all 82 games for the Kings last season and should play a key role once again during the 2022-23 campaign after signing a three-year extension during the offseason.

Barnes has agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $54 million, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

This news comes as no surprise, as Barnes was instrumental in Sacramento's rise up the Western Conference standings. Barnes appeared in all 82 games during the 2022-23 season, averaging 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.6 three-pointers on 47.3 percent shooting. Look for him to play a significant role once again next season due to his ability to play both forward spots.

Barnes totaled four points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT) across 14 minutes during Sunday's 120-100 loss to the Warriors in Game 7 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

Barnes was unable to make an impact in the loss, and the team relied on Malik Monk to pick up the slack while Barnes and Kevin Huerter struggled. Barnes' result matched his second-worst total of the season, with the other four-point result also coming against the Warriors back in late October.

Barnes totaled 17 points (6-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-4 FT) and one rebound over 34 minutes during Thursday's 114-97 loss to Golden State in Game 3 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

Barnes accumulated 17 points but as per usual, added very little outside of scoring. In fact, it's hard to reason with the fact he grabbed just one rebound in 34 minutes. While he continues to be a scoring threat, his lack of overall production is something that seems unshakeable at this point.

Barnes closed Monday's 114-106 victory over the Warriors in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals with 13 points (5-13 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), six rebounds, one assist and three steals across 34 minutes.

Barnes has been the definition of steady to start the opening-round series against his former team. He's totaled 26 points (10-24 FG), 13 rebounds, three assists and six steals across 70 minutes, but he may have to take his game to another level if Domantas Sabonis (ribs) is forced to miss any time.

Barnes (ankle) isn't listed on the injury report for Saturday's Game 1 clash with the Warriors.

Barnes tweaked his ankle at the end of Wednesday's practice, but he's been omitted from the injury report, indicating he will claim his usual role for the Kings on Saturday. Barnes closed the regular season averaging 15.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals over 29.0 minutes in the last five games, but he figures to log 30-plus minutes in the team's playoff run.

Barnes suffered a minor tweak to his ankle at the end of Wednesday's practice but expects to play Saturday against the Warriors, Brenden Nunes of The Sacramento Bee reports.

Barnes started all 82 regular-season games for the Kings this year and appears to be on track for Game 1 of the Western Conference First Round despite his ankle issue. He scored in double figures in his final six regular-season appearances, averaging 14.7 points and 2.3 rebounds in 29.2 minutes per game.

Barnes provided 16 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), one assist and three steals in 31 minutes during Tuesday's 121-103 victory over New Orleans.

Despite scoring double-digits yet again Tuesday, Barnes failed to get anyone excited with his performance. While the three steals were certainly a nice bonus, given he is averaging just 0.7 per game, it's reasonably safe to assume this was just an outlier. He is technically a standard league asset, although he is also a perfect example of a ranking not necessarily providing a true reflection of a player's impact.

Barnes contributed 19 points (5-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 9-11 FT), five rebounds and one assist over 35 minutes during Monday's 119-115 loss to Minnesota.

Barnes failed to make a three-pointer, but he was busy at the charity stripe and extended his double-digit scoring streak to 15 games. During that stretch, the veteran forward has averaged 16.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 33.3 minutes per game.

Barnes logged 11 points (3-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds and one assist in 25 minutes during Tuesday's 132-109 loss to the Celtics.

Barnes extended his double-digit scoring streak to 12 games, but he hasn't scored more than 19 points since March 4. Given his lack of production in the defensive categories, Barnes need prolific offensive numbers to be a true fantasy asset, which just hasn't been the case recently. Since the All-Star break (15 games), Barnes has averaged 15.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 32.8 minutes.

Barnes chipped in 14 points (4-9 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and four rebounds over 30 minutes during Monday's 133-124 loss to the Bucks.

Barnes drained three threes but didn't make a significant impact on the offensive end in this loss against Milwaukee. He's been very efficient of late, however, scoring in double digits in seven games in a row and shooting 52.6 percent from the field in that span.

Barnes finished Saturday's 128-119 win over the Suns with 19 points (6-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT) and six rebounds across 37 minutes.

Barnes led the way in a balanced scoring night for the Kings, who had six players finish with between 12 and 19 points. Though he was able to get his points efficiently, Barnes was lacking in much notable production outside of the rebounds column, which has been a common theme with his stat lines. Over his last five games, Barnes is averaging just 1.0 assists, 1.0 three-pointers, 0.4 steals and 0.2 blocks per contest.

Barnes notched 20 points (6-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 8-8 FT) and seven rebounds in 37 minutes during Friday's 128-127 win over the Clippers.

Barnes has yet to record a double-double this season, but he's ended three rebounds or fewer away from reaching that feat in each of his last two appearances. Even though the veteran forward plays a secondary role in the Kings' offensive scheme behind De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, he's still averaging 14.2 points per game since the start of February.

Barnes recorded 29 points (8-13 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 9-10 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one block in 37 minutes during Tuesday's 123-117 win over the Thunder.

Barnes stepped up on the offensive end in the win, scoring 29 points, the most he has scored in more than six weeks. With De'Aaron Fix (wrist) sidelined, Barnes took it upon himself to shoulder more of the scoring responsibility, rewarding anyone who managed to stream him in. While he can have limited value thanks to his ability to score the basketball, Barnes' lack of peripheral numbers usually keeps his fantasy appeal relatively low.

Barnes finished with 11 points (4-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and two rebounds across 36 minutes during Tuesday's 120-109 loss to Phoenix.

Barnes continues to offer up buckets full of nothing, ending with 11 points in 36 minutes. Thanks to his empty skillset, Barnes now sits well outside the top 150 over the past month. His points production can be valuable for streaming purposes but outside of that, he should not be on the radar as a long-term asset outside of deeper formats.

Barnes recorded 13 points (1-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 10-11 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one steal across 37 minutes during Saturday's 117-110 loss to the Timberwolves.

Barnes was woeful from the field Saturday but somewhat salvaged his night by going 10-of-11 from the charity stripe. Much like his teammate Keegan Murray, Barnes has very little to fall back on when his shot isn't falling. He is currently averaging 15.4 points per game this season, sitting just inside the top 120 in standard formats. Technically, he can be looked at as a 12-team commodity, when in reality, he is more of a points streamer on most nights.

Barnes amassed 27 points (8-13 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 5-7 FT), four rebounds and one assist across 38 minutes during Saturday's 129-127 loss to the 76ers.

Barnes turned in his third-highest scoring total of the season in the loss. He's turned in some excellent totals throughout the month, including a season high of 30 points against Orlando two weeks ago. The depth chart is crowded with young talent but Barnes has kept them at bay, offering an invaluable veteran presence in the starting lineup.

Barnes had 29 points (8-11 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 9-11 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one block in 39 minutes during Sunday's 132-119 win over the Spurs.

Barnes was incredibly efficient throughout the contest, registering 15 first-half points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field before going a perfect 3-of-3 over the final two quarters for additional 14 points. The small forward went 4-of-6 from beyond the arc and also matched a season high with 11 free-throw attempts in the contest. He's now averaging 22.1 points per game in the month of January, shooting 55.7 percent from the field and 51.8 percent from three over that span.

Barnes posted 27 points (8-14 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Friday's 139-114 victory over Houston.

Barnes led the Kings in scoring Friday on the strength of an efficient 5-for-8 mark from three-point range. The veteran forward also finished second the team in rebounds and made all six of his attempts from the charity stripe. Though Barnes isn't a big contributor of peripheral stats, he's maintained low-end fantasy value by averaging 14.9 points and 1.6 triples per contest while shooting 48.1 percent from the field.

Barnes ended Monday's 136-111 victory over the Magic with 30 points (11-13 FG, 6-7 3Pt, 2-3 FT), one rebound and one assist in 30 minutes.

Barnes simply couldn't miss Monday, going 11-of-13 from the field en route to a season-high 30 points. However, in typical Barnes fashion, he added nothing else to the boxscore, an unfortunate trademark when it comes to breaking down his overall value. Despite averaging 14.5 points per game, Barnes sits outside the top 130 in standard formats. He can be valuable in specific builds but on the whole, should be viewed as a much better points league guy.

Barnes accumulated 19 points (7-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and two steals across 37 minutes during Tuesday's 117-115 victory over Utah.

Barnes will see more time on the court if he jumps out to a fast start, and he ended up playing 37 minutes while riding a hot hand throughout the game. Barnes also matched his second-highest rebound total of the season in the narrow win.

Barnes finished Tuesday's 113-106 loss to the Nuggets with 13 points (5-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal in 33 minutes.

At least for one game, Barnes didn't benefit much from the absence of Domantas Sabonis (thumb). Barnes' 16.2 percent usage rate on the night was roughly in line with his season-long rate (16.8 percent), and he grabbed only a couple more extra boards than he typically does (5.5 per game). Sabonis is listed as questionable for Wednesday's rematch with Denver and doesn't seem likely to miss much additional time even if he ends up sitting a second straight game, so Barnes' fantasy outlook should remain fairly stable moving forward.

Barnes (quadriceps) will play in Wednesday's game against the Lakers, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports.

Despite injuring his right quadriceps during Monday's loss to Charlotte, the veteran will remain in the lineup versus the Lakers. Barnes is averaging 13.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game this year.

Even though he holds a secondary role on offense in a scheme designed for the likes of De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, Barnes has found a way to remain an impactful player on a nightly basis. He's averaging 15.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in December.

Barnes provided 15 points (4-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 6-9 FT), two rebounds and two assists across 35 minutes during Sunday's 112-99 loss to the Knicks.

Barnes got off to a hot start in this one, scoring 13 points while shooting 3-for-4 from the field and 6-for-7 from the charity stripe before cooling off in the final two quarters of play (1-for-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 0-2 FT). The North Carolina product has knocked down at least one triple in seven straight contests, scoring in double digits in each matchup along the way.

Barnes ended with 20 points (6-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 6-7 FT), three rebounds and two assists over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 126-113 loss to the Bucks.

Barnes scored in double digits for the fourth game in a row, a stretch he's already accomplished three times in the current campaign. The veteran forward is having the worst season of his career since leaving the Warriors and definitively his worst campaign since joining Sacramento with averages of 13.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. That shouldn't be surprising, however, as Barnes sits below Domantas Sabonis, De'Aaron Fox, Keegan Murray and even Malik Monk when it comes to the offensive pecking order.

Barnes came into the contest having averaged just 8.7 points on 42.9 percent shooting over his past three games. He snapped the slump with a team-leading scoring total in the victory, finished with 20-plus points for the first time since Nov. 22. Barnes has recorded five games of 20 points or more so far this season, but he's also finished with single-digit scoring in eight contests.

Barnes logged 27 points (8-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 10-11 FT), nine rebounds and three assists in 36 minutes during Sunday's 137-129 victory over the Pistons.

Barnes was incredibly efficient shooting Sunday as he scored more than 20 points for the first time all year. After making just 36.8 percent of his shots in the season's first nine games, he's sunk 61.2 percent of his tries in the last six contests and is averaging 16.8 points in that span. For the year, he's averaging 11.6 points per game, his lowest production since 2014-15.

Barnes notched nine points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three assists, one block and one steal over 27 minutes during Sunday's 122-115 win over Golden State.

Barnes was uninspiring again in the win, scoring in single-digits for the sixth time this season. The fact his value is directly tied to his ability to score, you certainly have a recipe for disaster when that is not happening. He is currently outside the top 150 in standard formats, meaning he should be viewed as a streaming candidate on most nights.

Barnes finished Wednesday's 127-120 win over the Cavaliers with 20 points (6-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-8 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and two steals across 35 minutes.

Barnes was a non-factor in Monday's loss to the Warriors, going 0-for-4 from the field in a scoreless performance. He shook that off to finish second on Sacramento in scoring Wednesday while leading the Kings with nine boards to come up just shy of a double-double. Barnes had shot a miserable 33.3 percent from the field over his previous five games, so his sharp 6-for-8 line against the Cavs was a welcome sight for both the player and his fantasy managers.

Barnes finished with 16 points (4-12 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 8-8 FT), nine rebounds and two assists in 37 minutes during Monday's 115-108 victory over the Hornets.

Barnes had one of his better all-around games of the season, highlighting just what an empty start it has been for the veteran. Despite continuing to log significant minutes, Barnes currently sits outside the top 200 in standard formats. Given he has a proven inability to produce anything but points and triples, he should be viewed as just a streaming candidate moving forward.

Barnes was seemingly on thin ice Sunday, as Sacramento turned to the bench to replace his minutes. His usage is a trend to monitor, but he's losing fantasy lineup appeal until proven otherwise.

Barnes remains arguably the most boring fantasy asset available, and yet he continues to chug along, putting up top-100 value. He is slated to begin the season as the starting power forward, a role that will likely afford him sufficient minutes in which to remain relevant. That role could change down the stretch, especially if the Kings fall out of playoff contention sooner rather than later. Until that point, he should be viewed as a high-floor, low-ceiling target in the later rounds of drafts.

Barnes suffered through one of his worst performances of the season in Saturday's loss. The veteran failed to get involved in the offense and attempted a season-low four shot attempts in the blowout loss. Barnes will likely start in the season finale, but it could be his last game in a Kings uniform. He was frequently mentioned in trade talks throughout the season.

Barnes recorded 19 points (6-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and two steals in 40 minutes during Saturday's 114-110 overtime win over the Magic.

The veteran forward's production remains inconsistent, but he's still on track for one of the better seasons of his career. Through 12 games in March, Barnes is averaging 15.0 points, 4.3 boards, 2.6 assists and 1.8 threes.

Barnes closed with zero points (0-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist over 24 minutes during Friday's 126-97 loss to the Celtics.

Barnes did his best Tony Snell impression in 24 minutes of action, taking just five shots and offering little in terms of supporting stats. Barnes has been in a slump of late, totaling just 16 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, three blocks and one steal over his last three games combined (83 minutes).

Barnes supplied 23 points (7-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), three rebounds and one assist across 38 minutes during Monday's 131-115 loss to the Knicks.

Barnes finished just behind De'Aaron Fox (24 points) for team high-scoring honors thanks to an efficient 7-for-11 mark from the field, including a 3-for-4 effort from three-point range. However, the veteran forward didn't contribute much in the way of peripheral stats and notched a team-worst minus-19 during his time on the court. Still, this was a nice bounce-back effort for Barnes, who scored just nine points against Dallas in his previous game.

Barnes provided 27 points (6-8 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 11-14 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one block across 39 minutes during Thursday's 115-112 win over the Spurs.

Barnes did much of his work from the charity stripe, tying his season-high mark with 14 free-throw attempts. The frequent trips to the foul line enabled the veteran forward to rack up 27 points despite being charged with only eight field-goal tries, of which he made six -- including going 4-for-5 from three-point range. Barnes' scoring output was his highest since he tallied 30 points against Minnesota on Feb. 9.

Barnes accumulated 24 points (7-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 9-9 FT), five rebounds and three assists over 38 minutes during Saturday's 115-110 loss to the Nuggets.

Barnes trailed only De'Aaron Fox (26 points) for team high-scoring honors, finishing with his sixth game of 20-plus points across 10 contests in February. The veteran forward was particularly efficient from the charity stripe, where he knocked down all nine of his attempts. Barnes is enjoying perhaps his best season as a King, posting per-game averages of 17.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.9 three-pointers.

Barnes supplied 30 points (8-11 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 10-10 FT), eight rebounds and three assists in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 132-119 victory over the Timberwolves.

Barnes was the Kings' leading scorer on a night when Domantis Sabonis -- among others -- made his Sacramento debut. Barnes seemed to be energized by his new teammates, posting his highest point total since he racked up 36 points on opening night. The veteran forward has now scored 20-plus points in four straight games and is averaging 25.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.0 three-pointers and 1.3 steals over that span.

Barnes is a versatile player and an important one for Sacramento. Therefore, even if he does fault here or there, he will still be a significant piece to the larger puzzle.

As long as he can contribute in multiple categories, he should be able to hover around the top-100 for the rest of the campaign.
