Getting the long-range shots to fall is a key to Brunson's success as a scorer, and he ranked seventh in the league with a 46.0 percent conversion rate beyond the arc.

Brunson closed Friday's 139-122 win over Phoenix with 50 points (17-23 FG, 9-9 3Pt, 7-9 FT), six rebounds, nine assists and five steals across 35 minutes.

Brunson sank all nine of his three-point attempts on the way to the best scoring total of his career. He was also excellent in secondary categories, recording nine assists and five steals, both season highs. Brunson is on a stellar run of production, averaging 31.6 points, 8.4 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 2.0 steals over his last five games.

Coach Tom Thibodeau said Brunson (ankle) will play Monday against the Raptors, Zach Braziller of the New York Post reports.

Brunson was listed as questionable, but Thibodeau said Sunday that the point guard would be good to go. Immanuel Qickley (knee) remains a game-time decision, so the Knicks' backcourt may be shorthanded. Brunson has steadily improved as a scorer in recent seasons, and he scored at least 40 points for the fifth time in his career during Friday's matchup. The 27-year-old has been a force on the scoreboard early this year, averaging 24.7 points to go with 4.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 35.0 minutes per game.

The point guard tied Julius Randle for the Knicks' scoring lead on a night when the team never trailed after the first quarter. Brunson has had a fairly quiet start to the season aside from a 31-point eruption against the Hawks, but after posting career-best numbers in his first campaign with New York in 2022-23, big things are expected from the former Maverick.

Brunson had a woeful shooting performance in the season opener after putting up 15 points (6-21 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 0-1 FT) against the Celtics, but he bounced back admirably here and carried New York to a tight victory. While it's hard to imagine Brunson around the 30-point mark on a regular basis, his role as one of the Knicks' main offensive weapons is not under any threat. After all, he averaged 24.0 points per game in 2022-23.

Brunson contributed 15 points (6-21 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 0-1 FT), three rebounds, six assists and three steals over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 108-104 loss to the Celtics.

The star guard ended with a decent stat line, all things considered, as he left his mark on both ends of the court. However, the shooting woes can't be overlooked, and although this can be explained by the fact the Celtics probably boast the best defensive backcourt in the league in Derrick White and Jrue Holiday, Brunson still needed 21 shots to score 15 points. He should have an easier outing against the Hawks on Friday.

He's in the midst of a career year and has solidified himself as a consistent fantasy contributor.

Still, Brunson's assist contribution and excellent scoring averages make him a clear candidate for Dallas' second-best fantasy option.

While his usage rate and overall numbers might decrease a bit with the return of Luka Doncic, the former Villanova standout should remain a capable fantasy asset in most formats if he continues to start.

Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd relayed after Tuesday's 112-104 win over the Clippers that initial X-rays on Brunson's injured left foot returned negative, Callie Caplan of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Brunson will likely undergo additional testing on his foot in the days to come, but for the time being, the fourth-year guard appears to have avoided a serious injury. Luka Doncic's (ankle/knee) return from a three-game absence Tuesday was always expected to hurt Brunson from a usage standpoint, but the early exit due to injury ended up being the 25-year-old's demise for at least one contest. Before departing, Brunson played 11 minutes and provided four points (2-3 FG), two assists, two steals and one rebound. He'll benefit from an extended break between games, as the Mavericks aren't back on the schedule until Saturday, when they host the Wizards.

Brunson (foot) will not return to Tuesday's game against the Clippers, Eddie Sefko of the Mavericks' official site reports.

Brunson will finish the game having played just 11 minutes before getting injured. He posted four points, two assists, two steals and one rebound. The Mavericks don't play again until Saturday, so he has a good opportunity to rest and recover.

Brunson went to the locker room and is questionable to return to Tuesday's game against the Clippers due to a left foot injury, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.

If Brunson is unable to return, more minutes will be available for Trey Burke and Sterling Brown.

Brunson will come off the bench Tuesday against the Clippers, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.

With Luka Doncic (knee, ankle) back in the starting lineup, Brunson will resume his usual bench role. Across his last five games as a reserve, Brunson has averaged 15.2 points, 5.4 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 31.6 minutes.

Brunson notched 20 points (7-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, eight assists and three steals across 35 minutes during Sunday's 97-91 loss to the Clippers.

Making his third straight start with Luka Doncic (ankle/knee) sidelined, Brunson turned in another strong all-around performance in his highest-scoring game since Nov. 3. Brunson should consider to see increased time as long as Doncic remains out, but the superstar is hoping to be back on the floor for Tuesday's rematch against the Clippers. That's one of only two games on the Mavs' Week 6 schedule.

Brunson racked up 18 points (8-18 FG, 2-4 3Pt), nine rebounds and nine assists in 37 minutes during Wednesday's 105-98 loss to the Suns.

With Luka Doncic (ankle) unable to play, Brunson led Dallas in assists and was one of three starters to notch double-digit points. He was efficient as a shooter, knocking down half of his field-goal attempts and going 2-for-4 from beyond the arc. Brunson should be rostered in nearly every fantasy league at this point, as he is averaging 18.8 points, 5.3 assists, 5.1 boards and 1.1 three-pointers over his past eight contests.

Brunson ended Friday's 123-109 victory over the Spurs with 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and three assists over 27 minutes.

Brunson surpassed the 20-point mark in the two games he's started this season, but he remains an effective presence off the bench for the Mavericks. He has scored in double digits in six games in a row and while he doesn't contribute enough in other categories -- or at least with some degree of consistency -- his scoring exploits are enough to make him valuable across all formats. He's averaging 14.9 points per game thus far.

Brunson scored 17 points (7-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), adding on six assists, four rebounds and a steal in 31 minutes off the bench during a 108-92 win over the Pelicans.

Brunson has scored at least 13 points while shooting over 50 percent from the field in four consecutive games. He is having a remarkably effective campaign fly mostly under the radar. Currently top-60 in player efficiency rating and top-10 in wins above replacement (tied with Paul George), Brunson's rest-of-season outlook is high. He will look to keep rolling against the Bulls on Wednesday.

Brunson ended with 13 points (6-12 FG, 1-6 3Pt), five rebounds, five assists and one steal in 35 minutes during Saturday's 107-104 victory over Boston.

Brunson moved back to the bench Saturday, with Kristaps Porzingis returning to the lineup. Despite the move, Brunson still saw ample playing time and it is pretty clear that the Mavericks view him as a sizeable piece moving forward. His production is obviously not going to be at the level it has been over the past week but he certainly does more than enough to have 12-team value.

Brunson will come off the bench Saturday against the Celtics, Eddie Sefko of the Mavericks' official site reports.

With Kristaps Porzingis (back) returning to the starting five, Brunson will resume his usual bench role. As a reserve this season, he's averaging 10.7 points, 4.7 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 25.5 minutes.

Brunson finished with 31 points (9-17 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 12-15 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 109-108 victory over the Spurs.

Brunson kept his foot on the gas, turning in another masterful performance in what was a much-needed victory for the Mavericks. He has been a pleasant surprise this season and is clearly the second-best player on the roster right now. Despite going undrafted in just about every 12-team league, chances are he is now rostered everywhere. If for some reason that is not the case, go and do something about it.

Brunson collected 25 points (10-13 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), seven rebounds and three assists in 36 minutes Tuesday, as Dallas fell to the Heat 125-110.

Brunson rebounded in a big way after scoring 12 points (5-18 FG) in his previous two games. The entire Dallas offensive was fluky Tuesday, only recording 17 assists as a team. The fact that Brunson was able to create his own offense is a positive sign for his development. He's picking up steam for roster consideration in deeper leagues.

With Kristaps Porzingis (back) and Maxi Kleber (oblique) both sidelined, coach Jason Kidd will opt to go small. In the four games this season Brunson has seen at least 26 minutes, he's averaged 13.8 points, 5.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 27.8 minutes.

Brunson collected 19 points (8-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 0-2 FT), seven rebounds and five assists in 30 minutes during Thursday's 104-99 victory over San Antonio.

Brunson stepped up on the offensive end of the floor, draining three triples en route to 19 points. The Mavericks were in need of a scoring punch off the bench and Brunson was the man for the job. He is generally a primary beneficiary whenever the team is without one of their key pieces and tonight was no different. Look for him to build off this performance against the Nuggets on Friday.

Brunson amassed 11 points (4-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 assists, four rebounds and one steal in 28 minutes during Tuesday's 116-106 victory over Houston.

Brunson continues to be up and down when it comes to his production, heading out a career-high 11 assists in the victory. The fact Kristaps Porzingis went down with a back injury may have helped here, with Brunson seeing some additional run in the second half. It is unlikely he sticks on a 12-team roster this season but his upside in assists alone make him an intriguing streaming option.

Brunson supplied 17 points (7-13 FG, 3-5 3Pt), three rebounds and three assists on Thursday, logging 26 minutes in the Mavericks' 113-87 loss to the Hawks.

Brunson was the only Maverick off the bench to record more than five points. He has a healthy role in the backcourt and would likely be the biggest beneficiary should any kind of injury present itself in the Dallas rotation.

Brunson recorded 17 points (8-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt), six rebounds, five assists and one steal across 24 minutes during a 114-103 preseason win Friday at Milwaukee.

Brunson averaged 13.3 points, 4.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds across three preseason games this year. He will try to replicate that balanced statistical output during the upcoming NBA season.

Brunson compiled 15 points (4-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 7-8 FT). twp assists and a rebound across 21 minutes in Saturday's 113-103 win over the Clippers.

Brunson displayed his skills as a slashing sharpshooter in the Game 1 win, providing a nice boost off the bench in a role he's become increasingly familiar with. Despite his promise, the Villanova product has yet to break through into a full-time role with the Mavericks, and it appears that in the short term, Dallas will attempt to best the Clippers with a bigger lineup.

Brunson totaled 15 points (6-12 FG, 1-1 FT, 2-4 3Pt), three assists and one steal in 27 minutes during Sunday's 136-121 loss to the Timberwolves.

Brunson has been a reliable contributor off the bench for the Mavericks over the last nine games, averaging 14.0 points, 4.0 assists on 56.8 percent shooting from the field and 51.7 percent from three during that stretch. While Brunson has been hot, it's worth mentioning that JJ Redick's health could affect Brunson's playing time in the playoffs.

Brunson scored 19 points (8-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt) while adding five rebounds, four assists and a block in 25 minutes off the bench during Friday's win over the Raptors.

The third-year guard put together his best scoring effort since dropping 20 points in back-to-back games in mid-April. Brunson has scored in double digits in six of the last eight contests, averaging 13.9 points, 4.1 assists, 2.6 boards and 1.6 threes over that stretch.

Brunson posted 15 points (6-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and one steal in 25 minutes during Tuesday's 133-104 loss to the Grizzlies.

Brunson saw the most minutes off the bench (25) for the Mavericks during the blowout loss. He's played well lately, scoring double-digit points in five of the past six games.

Brunson tallied 15 points (6-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steal across 26 minutes in a win over Brooklyn on Thursday.

Brunson led all reserves in scoring in the contest, finishing in double digits for the third straight game. Over that span, he has averaged 17.0 points and 2.3 assists over 23 minutes per contest. Brunson's 52.2 percent field-goal rate overall this season is a career high.

Brunson accumulated 19 points (7-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two assists and one rebound in 18 minutes during Tuesday's 127-113 win over the Heat.

The 24-year-old continues to excel in limited minutes, scoring double digits in four out of his last five games. Brunson is averaging 18.0 points on 63.0 percent from the field in just 21.9 minutes over his past two games. Deep-league fantasy managers in desperate need of points could do worse than the third-year guard out of Villanova.

Brunson tallied 13 points (5-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and four assists over 33 minutes in a 115-105 victory over Detroit on Thursday.

Brunson got the start with Luka Doncic (elbow) sitting out the contest. Brunson didn't shoot well from the field but contributed enough as a rebounder and distributor to help lead the Mavericks to a win. The third-year guard has had spurts of strong play over the season but came into the contest averaging only 7.8 points on 37.5 percent shooting over his previous four games.

Brunson will start Thursday's contest against the Pistons, Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News reports.

With Luka Doncic (elbow) sidelined, Brunson will start at point guard. In his previous 11 starts this season, Brunson has averaged 16.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 33.2 minutes.

Brunson posted 20 points (8-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five assists and three rebounds in Wednesday's win over Detroit.

Brunson went through a mini-slump last week, but he's now scored 20 points in each of the past two games while hitting a combined 16 of his last 22 attempts from the field. The former Villanova standout offers virtually no value on defense, but he's a solid all-around contributor elsewhere, and he's up to a career-high 52.9 percent from the field on the season.

Brunson closed with 20 points (8-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one steal in 31 minutes during Sunday's 121-107 loss to Sacramento.

The Kings basically took production wherever they could find it and this time around, Brunson came to the party. He has been able to carve out a consistent role this season, although the more productive outings tend to come when Luka Doncic is on the sidelines. This wasn't the case against the Kings as Doncic went off for a game-high 37 points. Brunson is fine to stream in but we certainly wouldn't be expecting nights like this all too often.

Brunson will come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies.

Brunson will return to his usual bench role Wednesday with Kristaps Porzingis reclaiming his spot in the starting lineup. The 24-year-old is averaging 12.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 25.6 minutes per game this season.

Brunson registered 15 points (7-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists and a steal over 31 minutes during Monday's loss to the 76ers.

With Kristaps Porzingis resting, Brunson made the most of his opportunity in the starting lineup finishing second in scoring behind Luka Doncic. His six boards were also good for second on the team. Brunson had been struggling, going a combined 5-for-23 over his last two games prior to Monday though he continues to struggle from distance.

Brunson will start Monday's game against the 76ers.

While the team is without Kristaps Porzingis (rest) for Monday's game, Brunson should be able to provide some extra offense in his starting role. Brunson hasn't started a game since March 27, when posted 24 points, four assists and two rebounds in a loss to New Orleans.

Brunson is averaging 9.0 points on 33.3 percent shooting from the field across 27.3 minutes per game over his last three contests.

Brunson continues to play big minutes regularly off the Mavericks' second unit, but the hot shooting he enjoyed of late is beginning to fade away. Regression was always going to be inevitable to some extent for Brunson, who had averaged 17.8 points (on 62.3 percent shooting from the field) during a five-game stretch from March 31 through April 7. Even so, the 24-year-old is still converting at an excellent 52.4 percent rate for the season, so there might be more reality to the stellar form he displayed in the first week of April rather than his most recent three contests.

Brunson logged 15 points (6-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and five assists across 25 minutes Friday in a 99-86 win at New York.

Brunson has excelled during this road trip with averages of 17.3 points, 4.8 assists and 4.0 rebounds across four games. The road trip will culminate in Washington on Saturday. It gives those looking for fringe options a promising chance to take advantage of someone in blazing form.

Brunson posted 21 points (8-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal in Wednesday's win over the Celtics.

Brunson's production has been up-and-down since the All-Star break, but he's now scored in double figures in four of the last five games, with a pair of 20-plus-point efforts. On the right week, the Villanova product can be a decent streaming option, but his workload tends to fluctuate based on matchups and game script.

Brunson notched 24 points (10-15 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), four assists and two rebounds across 39 minutes in Saturday's loss against the Pelicans.

Brunson has started Dallas' last two games due to Luka Doncic's absences, and he has responded with back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts. Brunson has topped the 15-point mark in two of his last three appearances as well and while he'll move back to the bench sooner than later, he can still be a serviceable fantasy player in most formats due to his scoring ability.

Brunson had 10 points (5-13 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 0-2 FT), four rebounds and two assists across 34 minutes in Friday's loss against the Pacers.

Brunson had come off the bench in the past six games, but he returned to the starting lineup due to the absence of Luka Doncic (back). Brunson has now scored in double digits in two straight contests and seems to be trending in the right direction after a few below-par outings earlier this month, but his upside will be ultimately determined by Doncic's injury -- Brunson doesn't score enough and is not consistent enough to be a reliable fantasy contributor if he's not in the starting five on a regular basis.

Brunson is starting Friday's game against the Pacers.

Brunson had come off the bench in the past six games, but he'll return to the starting lineup Friday with Luka Doncic (back) sidelined. Brunson posted a double-double in Wednesday's win over Minnesota and should see considerable run once again Friday.

Brunson collected 16 points (7-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 11 rebounds, five assists and one steal in a 128-108 victory over the Timberwolves on Wednesday.

Brunson recorded a new season-high rebound total which led to his first double-double of the season. The guard played 29 minutes after averaging just 16.6 minutes in his previous three games prior to Wednesday night. The Mavericks had a 15-point lead going into the fourth quarter, and they never looked back which provided Brunson with some additional playing time. Even with the strong performance, Brunson isn't someone to target in fantasy leagues, as he has averaged just 8.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists over his last five games.

Brunson will come off the bench Saturday against the Nuggets.

The 24-year-old received a spot start Thursday and put up 26 points (9-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-10 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal in 36 minutes, but he'll shift back to the bench with Luka Doncic (ankle) rejoining the lineup. Brunson still figures to see plenty of action as a reserve for the Mavericks.

Brunson totaled just eight points (3-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three assists, two steals and one rebound in 20 minutes during Wednesday's 115-104 victory over San Antonio.

Brunson has been a sneaky addition to 12-team rosters over the past month but failed to continue his recent production. That said, it is only one game, and based on what we have seen lately, he is worth holding if you picked him up. If he is floating around on your waiver wire, you could do worse if you need assists with a smattering of across-the-board production.

Brunson registered 11 points (5-11 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, four assists and two steals across 33 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Thunder.

Brunson got the start in place of Luka Doncic (back) and while he was unable to record the 24-point output he delivered earlier this week, he still scored in double digits for the ninth straight game. He is averaging 16.2 points per contest in that span.

Brunson will start Wednesday's game against the Thunder.

The 24-year-old will make his first start since Jan. 25 with Luka Doncic (back) sitting out Wednesday. Brunson averaged 16.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 27.9 minutes off the bench over the past eight games, and he should continue to have a significant role in the spot start.

Brunson recorded 24 points (9-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT), six rebounds, three assists and a steal across 29 minutes off the bench in Monday's win over the Magic.

Brunson has been a huge weapon off the bench for the Mavericks of late and has scored in double digits in eight straight games, surpassing the 15-point mark in four of those contests. He has attempted 10 or more shots in six of those appearances, meaning he has enough volume of field-goal attempts to believe he should remain a reliable scoring threat moving forward even if he keeps coming off the bench for the foreseeable future.

Brunson compiled 14 points (6-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, two steals and an assist across 27 minutes in Saturday's 115-98 win over the Nets.

Brunson continues to provide offensive momentum off the bench, especially when Luka Doncic steps out to recoup during the game. The Villanova product is unlikely to garner a starting role unless COVID-19 protocols or injury compromises the current rotation.

Brunson delivered 22 points (6-11 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds and two assists across 30 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's win over the Celtics.

Brunson made five straight starts last month but has mostly been a bench player this season, and he's going through one of his most prolific stretches of the campaign. He has scored at least 10 points in five straight contests for the first time this season, and he has also surpassed the 20-point mark twice during that stretch.

Brunson had 13 points (4-5 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven assists and six rebounds across 22 minutes off the bench in Friday's win over the Pelicans.

Brunson left his mark in a game where both teams combined for 273 points, as he missed just one shot from the field while also contributing on the glass and as a playmaker. Brunson has a crowded path at starting any time soon, but he is certainly capable of putting up strong performances off the bench when given enough minutes.

Brunson scored 21 points (9-18 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT) to go along with four rebounds and five assists across 30 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Hawks.

Brunson caught fire to score 11 points in the fourth quarter as the team rallied to earn a comeback win. As a result of his strong play, he reached 30 minutes for only the fourth time this season and for the first time since Jan. 23. Brunson has spent the majority of the season coming off the bench, but is averaging a career-best 23.7 minutes, 11.6 points, 3.5 assists and 3.1 rebounds while shooting 50.8 percent from the field and 89.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Brunson recorded 18 points (6-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four assists and three rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench during the Mavericks' 147-116 loss to the Warriors on Thursday.

After starting a stretch of five games with two starters missing time due to COVID-19 safety and protocols, Brunson has settled back into his role of coming off the bench. Since returning to the bench, Brunson has averaged 14.3 points and also contributed a handful of rebounds and assists each game. He will continue to be a reliable guard in the Mavericks' rotation throughout the rest of this season.

Brunson had 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one steal in 24 minutes during Wednesday's 122-116 win over the Hawks.

The 24-year-old continues to come off the bench with the Mavericks now back at full strength after the COVID-19 outbreak, and he's been filling a key role as a reserve. Brunson is averaging 9.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 23.8 minutes over the past five games.

Brunson scored 13 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT) across 26 minutes in Friday's loss to the Jazz.

Brunson also contributed a pair of boards and assists. While his scoring didn't drop any jaws, it was enough to rank second on the Mavs (behind Luka Doncic) on a night when most of the team's starters struggled from the field. Brunson is an important part of the Mavs' rotation, but his unexciting numbers this season (11.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists per game) give him minimal value in fantasy.

Brunson will come off the bench Wednesday against the Jazz, Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News reports.

The 24-year-old started the past five games for the Mavericks but will move back to the bench with Josh Richardson and Dorian Finney-Smith back from the COVID-19 protocols. Brunson is averaging 8.3 points, 3.0 assists and 2.1 rebounds over 16.4 minutes in his seven appearances off the bench this season.

Brunson posted 16 points (6-11 FG, 3-5 3PT, 1-1 FT), four rebounds and six assists in 31 minutes during the 122-117 win against San Antonio on Friday.

Brunson has been on a tear lately and continued that trend in the win Friday. The guard is currently averaging 16 points, three rebounds and four assists in the past three matches. After having an up and down history to start the season, Brunson has finally started to consistently produce. It also helps that he has started the past three matches as well compared to being on the bench most of the season. Nonetheless, Brunson is viable moving forward as long as he receives starting minutes.

Brunson recorded 19 points (8-13 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four assists and three rebounds in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 124-112 win over the Pacers.

In his second game back from COVID-19 protocols, Brunson put up another strong performance in the starting lineup with Luka Doncic. Brunson is undoubtedly a useful fantasy option when he gets the minutes. In four performances this season where he's seen at least 20 minutes, Brunson is averaging 19.8 points, 4.3 assists and 3.5 rebounds. However, once Josh Richardson, Dorian Finney-Smith, Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell -- all COVID-19 protocol absences -- return, Brunson's role could fall by the wayside again.

Brunson (COVID-19 protocols) returned to action in Monday's 116-93 loss to the Raptors, providing 13 points (4-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steals in 27 minutes.

Back after missing the Mavs' previous four games while in the COVID-19 protocol, Brunson picked up his second start of the season since both Josh Richardson and Dorian Finney-Smith had yet to clear the protocol. Brunson played effectively alongside Luka Doncic, but he's unlikely to see playing time at this level once the Mavericks have their full complement of rotation players available.

Brunson was previously held out while in COVID-19 protocols, but he's since been cleared and will make his second start of the season Monday evening. He poured in 31 points and added seven assists along with five rebounds in his other start Jan. 3 against Chicago.

Brunson was held out of Sunday's loss to the Bulls, but his absence from the injury report implies that he'll return to availability for the shorthanded Mavs, who will still be without several regulars. Assuming he does play, it'll be Brunson's first action since Jan. 7.

Brunson will miss his fourth game in a row as he remains in the league's health and safety protocols. Trey Burke and Tyrell Terry will have a chance at larger roles with Brunson still out.

Brunson (Covid-19) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bulls, Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News reports.

While he has not officially been cleared to return, Brunson's questionable designation is a strong indication that his quarantine is nearing its end. If he does ultimately get the green light to return, Trey Burke would be the most likely candidate to have his minutes affected.

Brunson is expected to quarantine for at least seven days after he entering the NBA's health and safety protocol Saturday, Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News reports. "The expectation is that a lot of those things aren't going to resolve quickly," Carlisle said, regarding Brunson's situation. "All of those timeframes you mentioned have validity," after Townsend asked Carlisle if Brunson would remain out for seven, 10 or 14 days.

Apart from nights when Doncic doesn't play, Brunson offers very little for fantasy purposes.

Brunson sat out Saturday's practice with a left hamstring injury, freelance writer Eddie Sefko reports.

Brunson appears to have tweaked his hamstring at some point during Friday's 118-111 loss to the Bucks. The injury doesn't appear to be overly serious but could affect Brunson's availability for Monday's tilt with the Thunder.
