The third-year forward's hot streak has lasted a little longer than that, though -- he's popped for 20-plus points in nine of the last 10 games, averaging 24.9 points, 6.7 boards, 2.2 assists, 1.4 threes and 1.3 steals over that stretch while shooting 60.8 percent from the floor and a stunning 53.8 percent (14-for-26) from long distance.

Kuminga finished Friday's 121-101 win over Memphis with 29 points (11-15 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 6-7 FT), six rebounds, four assists and two steals in 37 minutes.

His 6-7 frame gives Golden State's undersized lineup an added dimension, and with Payton out indefinitely, Kuminga will likely continue to own a starting role.

The rookie is averaging 17.7 points (on 61.1 percent shooting from the field), 4.7 boards and 2.7 assists during this most recent three-game stretch.

So long as Draymond Green (calf) remains out, Kuminga should continue to see regular minutes off the bench, but he could eventually return to a lesser role behind Green, Andrew Wiggins and Otto Porter.

Kuminga's talent is too strong to keep on the bench, and while he is performing aptly as Draymond Green's (back) replacement, Kumingas role is likely to increase beyond Green's expected two-week absence. Although there's variance to dodge with Kuminga, he is a great fantasy streaming option for the next couple of weeks and could hold relevant value afterward as well.

The rookie's role has been fairly limited when the Warriors are healthy, but he could be set for an extended role in the rotation with Green expected to remain out through the end of January.

The Warriors' offense found plenty of success Friday, and Kuminga logged his second-highest minutes total of the season in the blowout win. He converted 83.3 percent of his field-goal attempts against the Bulls and has now averaged 17.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in 21.7 minutes per game across his last three appearances.

Kuminga contributed 15 points (5-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), seven rebounds and one steal in 19 minutes during Thursday's 118-99 loss to the Bucks.

Kuminga benefited from the fact that the game was essentially over by halftime and recorded one of the best scoring outputs of his young NBA career -- though the efficiency wasn't really there. The rookie has scored in double digits in each of his last two appearances, but it's unrealistic to believe he will produce such numbers on a regular basis going forward.

Kuminga is not listed on the injury report ahead of Thursday's game against Milwaukee.

The rookie was held out of Tuesday's game against Memphis after returning from a G League assignment, but it looks he should be back to being an option off the bench for coach Steve Kerr.
