The 26-year-old looks to be firmly ahead of Shake Milton in the backcourt pecking order, as Milton didn't check into Monday's game until the Lakers held a 32-point lead with 7:47 remaining in the fourth quarter. Even so, Goodwin is probably more likely to fall out of the rotation entirely than maintain a 20-plus-minute role moving forward. With the Wizards a bit thin at point guard, Goodwin may get more opportunities this year.

Aside from ending close to a double-double, Goodwin was particularly efficient and only needed 12 shots to surpass the 20-point mark once again. He's averaging 14.8 points per game on the season and should remain a capable offensive contributor for the Go-Go as long as he remains healthy.

Goodwin was one of five players that scored in double digits in this game and while he was far from being the top scorer in this contest, he certainly made his presence felt with a strong effort across the board. It was his first triple-double of the G League campaign.

ANALYSIS
Goodwin has been playing for Washington's G League affiliate Capital City Go-Go this season and will get his first opportunity to suit up for the Wizards. The team is currently down three guards who are all in the league's COVID-19 protocol but Goodwin still isn't likely to see the floor unless the Wizards are involved in a blowout or more players continue to go into health and safety protocols.
