Claimed off waivers
The Suns claimed Goodwin off waivers Wednesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The Lakers waived Goodwin on July 20 to help pave the way for the team to sign Marcus Smart. Goodwin played in 29 regular-season games during the 2024-25 campaign, averaging 5.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game, shooting 43.8 percent from the floor and a career-high 38.2 percent from beyond the arc.
Jul 20, 2025
Waived by Lakers
Goodwin was waived by the Lakers Sunday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin will have to explore opportunities elsewhere after being waived to create space for the Lakers' recent addition, Marcus Smart. Goodwin grew into a role down the stretch last season, appearing in 29 regular-season games where he averaged 5.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals in 18.7 minutes per contest. He also appeared in four postseason games for Los Angeles during the 2024-25 campaign.
Apr 14, 2025
Fills stat sheet but shoots poorly
Goodwin racked up 12 points (5-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt), seven rebounds, four assists and two steals across 30 minutes during Sunday's 109-81 loss to Portland.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin posted a solid line and took advantage of his spot start in this regular-season finale, but the fact that he needed 14 shots to score 12 points isn't encouraging by any means. Goodwin should return to a bench role when the Lakers start their playoff run against the Timberwolves on Saturday. He averaged 5.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game in 29 regular-season appearances (five starts) in 2024-25.
Apr 13, 2025
Cleared to play
Goodwin (foot) is available for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Goodwin has been upgraded from probable to available and will play in the regular-season finale. He may even start, as the Lakers will be without Austin Reaves (ankle), LeBron James (groin) and Luka Doncic (quadriceps).
Apr 12, 2025
Likely to play Sunday
Goodwin is probable for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers due to right plantar fasciitis, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The probable tag suggests Goodwin should play Sunday, but a decision on his status won't be made until the 3:30 p.m. ET tipoff Sunday. It wouldn't be surprising to see him handle a sizable workload in the regular-season finale since the Lakers will rest most of their rotation regulars.
Mar 27, 2025
Gets standard deal
Goodwin and the Lakers agreed to a standard contract Thursday, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin, who was previously on a two-way contract, will claim an open roster spot after the Lakers waived Cam Reddish. Goodwin has made the most of his time with the Lakers so far, averaging 6.4 points while shooting 41.0 percent from beyond the arc.
Mar 22, 2025
Not starting vs. Chicago
Goodwin is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Bulls, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports.
ANALYSIS
The Lakers will be close to full strength in this matchup, so Goodwin will return to his regular role off the bench. Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic will start in the backcourt, meaning Goodwin's fantasy appeal will be close to minimal in this contest.
Mar 20, 2025
Records four steals
Goodwin finished Wednesday's 120-108 victory over the Nuggets with eight points (2-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, three assists and four steals in 26 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin didn't have much success offensively, but made up for it on the defensive end -- this was his fifth career game with at least four steals. The Lakers are very shorthanded these days, and Goodwin will remain on the streaming radar for the short term. Over his last seven games, Goodwin has averaged 8.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.7 three-pointers.
Mar 14, 2025
Starting vs. Denver
Goodwin is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Nuggets, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin is one of several non-regular starters who will be part of the first unit in this contest, as the Lakers will be very shorthanded due to rest and injuries. Goodwin will be making his first start of the season, though he's coming off a solid 17-point showing versus Brooklyn earlier this week on Monday, March 10.
Mar 11, 2025
Scores season-high 17 points
Goodwin contributed 17 points (6-8 FG, 5-6 3Pt), eight rebounds and one steal over 24 minutes during Monday's 111-108 loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin notched a season-high 17 points, stepping up for a shorthanded Los Angeles roster -- LeBron James (groin), Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle) and Rui Hachimura (knee) all sat this game out. Given how well he fared Monday, Goodwin is worth a look in deeper fantasy formats until the Lakers get some reinforcements back.
Mar 9, 2025
Puts up six points in return
Goodwin (ankle) recorded six points (2-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt), three rebounds and one steal across 16 minutes in Saturday's 111-101 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin had missed the previous three games with a Grade 1 ankle sprain, but he slotted back into head coach JJ Redick's nine-man rotation Saturday and hit a pair of key triples in the process. The two-way player is eligible to be active in just 10 of the Lakers' remaining 20 games, but expect him to be a regular on the second unit in the short term while Los Angeles looks to replace LeBron James, who strained his groin Saturday and is expected to miss at least 1-to-2 weeks.
Mar 7, 2025
Off injury report
Goodwin (ankle) is not on the Lakers' injury report ahead of Saturday's game against the Celtics, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin missed the Lakers' last three games while tending to a sprained right ankle, and it appears he has progressed enough in his recovery to be available for Saturday's bout. Goodwin is averaging 6.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.3 steals over 16.9 minutes per game this season, though he could see a decent amount of playing time in his return due to the absence of Rui Hachimura (knee).
Mar 6, 2025
Ruled out against New York
Goodwin (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Knicks, Daniel Starkand of LakersNation.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin will miss a third straight game Thursday, as the Lakers newcomer continues to nurse a sprained right ankle. The defensive-minded guard has made an impact during his short time in Los Angeles, but with him on the mend, the team likely spread his minutes out to Gabe Vincent, Shake Milton and Dalton Knecht.
Mar 5, 2025
Iffy for Thursday
Goodwin (ankle) has been listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Knicks, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has missed the last two games for the Lakers with a sprained right ankle. However, he may be able to return to the floor against the Knicks, which would give Los Angeles some depth in the backcourt. He's played eight games for his new team, averaging 6.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game, shooting 52.5 percent from the floor.
Mar 3, 2025
Unavailable for Tuesday
Goodwin (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Pelicans, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin will miss his second straight game since being diagnosed with a Grade 1 right ankle sprain. The team has yet to establish a clear timetable for his return, though it wouldn't be a surprise to see him miss at least a few additional matchups while on the mend. Goodwin's next chance to return will arrive Thursday against the Knicks.
Mar 2, 2025
Ruled out Sunday
Goodwin (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Clippers, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin will miss Sunday's rematch after suffering a right ankle sprain during Friday's win over the Clippers. The two-way combo guard has averaged 3.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals across 14.2 minutes per contest in his last five outings. With Austin Reaves (calf) also being sidelined, Dalton Knecht, Gabe Vincent and Shake Milton are candidates to see a bump in minutes.
Mar 1, 2025
Doubtful to play Sunday
Goodwin (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Clippers, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin suffered an ankle injury in Friday's game against the Clippers, and he's in danger of missing Sunday's contest, as the doubtful tag suggests he might not be ready to return this weekend. This will shorten the Lakers' rotation even more, as Rui Hachimura (knee) is out and Austin Reaves (calf) is uncertain to play Sunday.
Mar 1, 2025
Suffers ankle injury
Goodwin rolled his ankle late in Friday's game against the Clippers and was unable to play the final minutes of the contest, head coach JJ Redick told Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin's ankle injury isn't expected to be serious, though it's uncertain if he'll be good to go Sunday. Even if he's forced to miss a game or two, Goodwin's absence shouldn't affect many fantasy decisions since he has a minimal role in the Lakers' rotation.
Feb 28, 2025
Efficient off bench in win
Goodwin tallied seven points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two steals, one rebound and one assist in 13 minutes in Thursday's 111-102 win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin provided a spark in limited minutes, scoring at all three levels in Thursday's win. The 26-year-old has been a solid bench contributor for the Lakers since signing a two-way contract on Feb. 7. He could see an increase in minutes if Rui Hachimura (knee) is forced to miss time, but otherwise is likely to retain the same reserve role for the rest of the season.
Feb 11, 2025
Provides boost off bench in win
Goodwin tallied 17 points (8-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt), eight rebounds, two steals and one assist in 22 minutes Monday in the Lakers' 132-113 win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has now turned in two quality performances off the bench in a row since signing a two-way deal with the Lakers, as he had previously recorded 10 points, four rebounds and one assist in 25 minutes in Saturday's 124-117 win over the Pacers. The 26-year-old looks to be firmly ahead of Shake Milton in the backcourt pecking order, as Milton didn't check into Monday's game until the Lakers held a 32-point lead with 7:47 remaining in the fourth quarter. Even so, Goodwin is probably more likely to fall out of the rotation entirely than maintain a 20-plus-minute role moving forward. In addition to the Lakers limiting minutes for several key regulars in Monday's win, Goodwin benefited from the continued absence of Dalton Knecht (personal), who could absorb nearly all of Goodwin's playing time once he's cleared to play again.
Feb 7, 2025
Inks deal with Lakers
The Lakers signed Goodwin to a two-way contract Friday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin spent the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign with the G League's South Bay Lakers, averaging 13.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.7 steals across 16 appearances. However, as a two-way player, Goodwin will now split his time between the NBA and G League.
Oct 18, 2024
Let go by LAL
The Lakers waived Goodwin on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin was waived and will likely join the club's G League affiliate -- the South Bay Lakers -- unless another team picks him up. The 25-year-old spent time with both the Grizzlies and Suns last year, during which he appeared in 57 regular-season games and averaged 6.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists across 18.5 minutes per game.
Oct 10, 2024
Will be available Thursday
Goodwin (hamstring) is available for Thursday's preseason game against the Bucks but will operate under a minutes restriction, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin didn't play against the Suns on Sunday, so his return is certainly a positive sign in his recovery process, even if he has a minutes' restriction.
Oct 7, 2024
Didn't play Sunday
Goodwin (hamstring) didn't play in Sunday's 118-114 preseason loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin missed a second straight game to open the preseason as he continues to nurse a hamstring injury. A timetable for his return remains unclear, but his next opportunity to suit up is Thursday in Milwaukee.
Oct 5, 2024
Doesn't feature Friday
Goodwin (hamstring) didn't play in Friday's 124-107 preseason loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has been dealing with a hamstring issue, so it wasn't surprising to see him being held out of the preseason opener. His next chance to play will come against the Suns on Sunday, but it wouldn't be shocking if he sits a few more games in preseason. Goodwin is on an Exhibit 10 deal with the Lakers and is competing for a regular-season roster spot.
Oct 1, 2024
Held out of practice
Goodwin didn't participate during Tuesday's practice due to a hamstring issue, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin is on an Exhibit 10 deal which allows him the opportunity to compete for a regular-season roster spot. However, the 25-year-old guard could miss significant time in training camp due to his hamstring issue.
Sep 3, 2024
Signs deal with Los Angeles
Goodwin and the Lakers agreed to an Exhibit 10 deal Tuesday, Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin was one of the top free agents available and will now have the chance to compete for a roster spot in Los Angeles during training camp. In 121 career NBA appearances, Goodwin holds regular-season averages of 6.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
Apr 13, 2024
Racks up 17 boards in loss
Goodwin registered 23 points (7-23 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 17 rebounds, three assists and four steals over 37 minutes during Friday's 123-120 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin blew past his previous career best with 19 rebounds the last time he suited up Tuesday's versus San Antonio, and he nearly matched that mark Friday against the Lakers. He's notched double-digit rebounds in five of his past seven games, providing surprising production on the boards given his role as a 6-foot-3 point guard. In addition, Goodwin's 23 points Friday were a career high, and he's certainly making a case to be a big part of the Grizzlies' rotation next year after working on a two-way contract during much of the current campaign.
Apr 12, 2024
Starting Friday
Goodwin is starting Friday's game against the Lakers, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin was held out of Wednesday's clash against the Cavs to ensure he stayed below his limit of active games as a two-way player, but he'll be back in action Friday evening. He should see plenty of chances considering the Grizzlies have 13 players listed out on the injury report.
Apr 10, 2024
Won't play Wednesday
Goodwin (G League) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has appeared in six straight games, including three consecutive starts, but he won't be available Wednesday. The Grizzlies will only have eight players available against Cleveland, including only two primary guards -- Zavier Simpson and Scotty Pippen.
Apr 10, 2024
Pulls down 19 rebounds
Goodwin ended Tuesday's 102-87 loss to San Antonio with 10 points (5-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt), 19 rebounds and five assists over 36 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin easily set a new career-best mark with 19 rebounds, and this was the fifth time he reached double digit boards. The Grizzlies only dressed eight players Tuesday and that trend could continue given the amount of injuries on the roster. Goodwin could continue to be a solid fantasy streamer the rest of the way.
Apr 4, 2024
Double-doubles in win over Bucks
Goodwin finished with 13 points (6-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds and seven assists in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 111-101 win over the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has scored in double digits in two of his last three appearances, and he seems to have carved a role off the bench in a depleted Memphis team that doesn't have much to play for in the final 10 days of the regular season. He could be a streaming option in deep formats, but other than that, his bench role doesn't provide a lot of upside.
Mar 30, 2024
Scores 16 points Saturday
Goodwin notched 16 points (6-15 FG, 4-6 3Pt), 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals across 27 minutes off the bench in Saturday's 118-88 loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin came off the bench and played a key role for a Memphis team that was outplayed from start to finish. He led the team in both points and rebounds. No starter played more than 30 minutes in this blowout loss, which also resulted in Goodwin having a bigger role. Goodwin should continue to come off the bench when the Grizzlies take on the Pistons on Monday.
Mar 27, 2024
Transferred to G League
The Grizzlies transferred Goodwin to the G League's Memphis Hustle on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Despite receiving significant playing time when in the NBA, Goodwin will head to the G League as he's forced to split time between the Hustle and Grizzlies as a two-way player. Scottie Pippen will likely continue to receive extended playing time in his absence.
Mar 22, 2024
Starting vs. Spurs
Goodwin is starting at point guard Friday night against San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin is set to see his first action since March 13 after being listed as inactive for his team's last three contests. He'll draw the start at point guard after Desmond Bane (back) was officially ruled out.
Mar 18, 2024
Not active Monday
Goodwin is on a G League assignment and won't play for the Grizzlies in Monday's game versus Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has suited up in three of the Grizzlies' past five contests, averaging 8.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 25.0 minutes per game. He's nearing his season limit for the number of games that he's able to be active as a two-way player, so Goodwin could be in store for additional absences over the final month of the season.
Mar 13, 2024
Off the bench Wednesday
Goodwin will come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin is being replaced in the starting lineup by Scotty Pippen, and it'll be interesting to see how many minutes Goodwin earns as a reserve. He's a slightly risky target without the starter designation.
Mar 13, 2024
Flirts with triple-double in win
Goodwin provided eight points (3-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal across 32 minutes during Tuesday's 109-97 victory over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin served up a nice multi-category performance Tuesday, rewarding anyone who picked him up off waivers. While he has been a relatively consistent source of production, his presence on the court is uncertain, given he is only eligible to play a handful of games down the stretch. He is worth considering if and when he plays but as we have seen over the past two weeks, the Grizzlies are not afraid to rule him out very late in the piece.
Mar 12, 2024
Available for Tuesday
Goodwin (Achilles) is available for Tuesday's game against the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin will shed his questionable tag and there's no word of any restrictions. Considering how many injured players are on Memphis' roster, Goodwin is likely to see significant minutes if he's feeling up to it.
Mar 11, 2024
Questionable for Tuesday
Goodwin (Achilles) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin was listed as doubtful ahead of Sunday's loss to the Thunder before being downgraded to out, so he's made at least some progress since then. However, if he remains out, DeJon Jarreau would be a candidate for increased playing time again.
Mar 10, 2024
Out Sunday
Goodwin (Achilles) has officially been ruled out for Sunday's matchup in Oklahoma City, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.
ANALYSIS
No surprise here, as Goodwin was officially deemed doubtful for the contest. In his absence, the recently signed DeJon Jarreau, will be the lone backup for Luke Kennard at point guard. Goodwin's next chance to suit up will come Tuesday versus the Wizards.
Mar 9, 2024
Doubtful for Sunday
Goodwin is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Thunder due to left Achilles soreness.
ANALYSIS
The injuries continue to pile up in Memphis, and they usually tend to err on the side of caution. Luke Kennard (knee) and GG Jackson (knee) are both questionable after missing Friday's game versus Atlanta, and they could see heavy minutes if they get the green light with Goodwin expected to sit.
Mar 9, 2024
Struggles in return
Goodwin amassed five points (2-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt), four assists and one block over 24 minutes during Friday's 99-92 loss to Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin returned to action after sitting out the two previous games. Despite moving straight into the starting lineup, Goodwin failed to deliver for anyone who streamed him in. With no assurance he even plays the next games, Goodwin makes for a tough hold, no matter the format.
Mar 8, 2024
Starting Friday
Goodwin is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has been inactive for the past two games for Memphis as the team looks to save his two-way player's active games played, but he's likely going to see heavy minutes Friday with both Luke Kennard (knee) and G.G. Jackson (knee) sidelined.
Mar 6, 2024
Inactive for Wednesday
Updating a previous report, Goodwin is on the inactive list for Wednesday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin was not on the injury report, but it appears he'll be on the inactive list for Wednesday's game as Memphis continues to conserve the two-way guard's total games played. He can't be considered a viable option when on the inactive list.
Mar 6, 2024
Not listed on injury report
Goodwin is not listed on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's matchup with the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin should be active after sitting out Monday's game, so he could be viewed as a potential streaming option in deep leagues for those seeking some dimes and defensive stats.
Mar 4, 2024
Back in bench role
Goodwin isn't starting Monday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has started the Grizzlies' last three matchups, but he'll be utilized in a bench role Monday with Luke Kennard due to get the start at point guard. Despite this role change, Goodwin should see north of 20 minutes as Memphis continues to deal with a slew of injuries to the backcourt.
Mar 2, 2024
Strong defensive effort Friday
Goodwin closed Friday's 122-92 loss to the Trail Blazers with 10 points (4-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists, four blocks and two steals across 34 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies' mess of a depth chart continues to be a source of frustration for fantasy players, but Goodwin at least is showing that he can be a reliable defensive contributor. The 25-year-old guard has started three of the last five games, sitting out the other two as Memphis keeps an eye on his game count, and during those contests he's averaged 8.7 points, 6.0 boards, 4.3 assists, 2.0 steals, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 threes.
Feb 28, 2024
Making another start
Goodwin will enter the first unit for Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin will make his second start with Memphis and his first since being upgraded to a two-way player on Saturday. In two appearances with the Grizzlies, Goodwin is averaging 10.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals over 26.5 minutes.
Feb 24, 2024
Inks two-way deal
The Grizzlies signed Goodwin to a two-way contract Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin will take the two-way roster spot left open after Memphis waived Jacob Gilyard on Saturday. Goodwin will likely compete with Derrick Rose for backup point guard minutes behind Luke Kennard when he's with the Grizzlies.
Feb 24, 2024
Held out of rotation Friday
Goodwin (coach's decision) went unused off the bench in Friday's 101-95 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Despite starting in the Grizzlies' final game before the All-Star break in a Feb. 15 win over the Bucks and averaging 10.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 three-pointers in 26.5 minutes in first two games with Memphis after signing a 10-day deal, Goodwin surprisingly found himself outside of the rotation Friday. The return of Derrick Rose (ankle) from a one-game absence played a part in Goodwin's exclusion from the rotation, though head coach Taylor Jenkins also made a lineup change featuring Luke Kennard as the team's de facto starting point guard. Jenkins' frequent rotation changes as well as Goodwin's status as a player on a 10-day deal will make the 25-year-old's minutes and production difficult to trust on a game-by-game basis, even while Memphis remains without multiple key players due to injury.
Feb 23, 2024
Coming off bench
Goodwin will come off the bench for Friday's game against the Clippers, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Grizzlies are a little healthier coming out of the All-Star break, but Goodwin figures to see some minutes with the second unit. He had a solid showing in his last outing against the Bucks on Feb. 15, scoring 11 points with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and one three-pointer.
Feb 15, 2024
Enters starting lineup
Goodwin is starting Thursday's game against Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin will get a chance to run with the first unit while the Grizzlies deal with a slew of injuries. Marcus Smart (finger), Derrick Rose (ankle) and Scotty Pippen (back) are all out, so Goodwin is in line for plenty of opportunities to show what he can do.
Feb 13, 2024
Available to debut Wednesday
Goodwin (recently signed) isn't on the injury report for Wednesday's game versus the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin signed a 10-day contract with the Grizzlies on Tuesday after being waived by Phoenix last week. With Memphis being decimated by injuries, Goodwin could receive playing time as the team's backup point guard.
Feb 12, 2024
Signing with Memphis
The Grizzlies plan to sign Goodwin to a 10-day contract, and he'll join the team as early as Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin was waived by the Suns last week, but he'll get another opportunity with the Grizzlies, who continue to deal with multiple injuries. The 25-year-old saw inconsistent playing time with Phoenix earlier this season but could carve out some minutes leading up to the All-Star break if the Grizzlies remain shorthanded. However, it appears as though his first chance to suit up for his new team will be Wednesday against Houston.
Feb 9, 2024
Waived by Brooklyn
The Nets requested waivers on Goodwin on Friday, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin was traded from the Suns to the Nets ahead of Thursday's trade deadline, but he'll be let go by Brooklyn a day later. It seems relatively unlikely that he'll find a sizable role elsewhere to close out the regular season.
Feb 8, 2024
Shipped to Brooklyn
Goodwin was traded to the Nets on Thursday as part of a three-team deal between Brooklyn, Phoenix and Memphis, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Suns made some major changes at the deadline to their bench depth, sending Goodwin and Keita Bates-Diop to Brooklyn, Yuta Watanabe and Chimezie Metu to Memphis and acquiring David Roddy and Royce O'Neale. Goodwin saw action in 40 games for the Suns but had fallen out of the rotation over the last month-and-a-half. He could have a chance at more opportunity in Brooklyn, but it's highly unlikely that Goodwin becomes fantasy-relevant in most leagues.
Jan 21, 2024
Available for Sunday's game
Goodwin (ankle) is available for Sunday's game against the Pacers, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin was probable for Sunday's matchup, so his availability isn't very surprising. Over five appearances in January, he's averaged just 1.6 points in 4.4 minutes per game.
Jan 20, 2024
Probable for Sunday
Goodwin is probable for Sunday's game against the Pacers with a right ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin's expected availability isn't likely to impact the rotation much, as he's averaging 4.2 minutes across five January appearances.
Jan 19, 2024
Back in rotation Friday
Goodwin accumulated two points (1-2 FG), one rebound and one assist in four minutes during Friday's 123-109 victory over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin played four minutes in garbage time, his first action in more than a week. With the Suns now sporting a relatively healthy lineup, Goodwin has struggled to crack the rotation on a nightly basis. Barely a top 300 player this season, Goodwin is not someone who needs to be rostered, even in deeper formats.
Dec 13, 2023
Productive off bench
Goodwin totaled 16 points (5-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals in 30 minutes during Tuesday's 119-116 win over Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin had scored below 10 points in five consecutive appearances leading up to Tuesday's win, but he bounced back in the narrow victory over the Warriors with his best scoring performance of the season. The 25-year-old was also productive in secondary categories en route to one of his most complete performances of the year. Goodwin's role off the bench has been too inconsistent to make him a reliable season-long option at this point, but he showed Tuesday that he at least has some upside as a streaming option.
Dec 9, 2023
Sees 20 minutes in loss
Goodwin totaled eight points (3-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and six assists over 20 minutes during Friday's 114-106 loss to the Kings.
ANALYSIS
The Suns were missing Kevin Durant (ankle) and Grayson Allen (groin) Friday, and their status for Tuesday's game against the Warriors is in the air. Goodwin's production has been all over the place this season, but he stepped up for the second unit Friday and may be asked to do the same if the Suns are shorthanded against Golden State.
Nov 27, 2023
Ties season-high scoring mark
Goodwin accumulated 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt), seven rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal across 29 minutes during Sunday's 116-113 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has looked excellent for the Suns of late and has reached the 14-point mark in his last two appearances off the bench. Goodwin is not expected to move to the starting lineup any time soon, but he might be a decent waiver pickup in some formats as long as he keeps seeing regular minutes. For what is worth, Goodwin has scored in double digits in all but one of his appearances in which he's reached the 20-minute mark.
Nov 18, 2023
Dishes out four dimes
Goodwin contributed three points (1-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt), two rebounds, four assists and one steal over 14 minutes during Friday's 131-128 victory over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin hasn't been a prolific scorer for the Suns this season with just three double-digit scoring totals in 12 appearances, but he's produced in other areas, including at least three assists in three consecutive matchups. Despite his output in secondary categories, he's unlikely to have much fantasy upside as long as the Suns remain relatively healthy.
Nov 9, 2023
Available to play
Goodwin (jaw) is available for Friday's game against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
This is a relief for the Suns, as they will be without Devin Booker (calf) once again. Goodwin is off to a mediocre start to the season, hitting just 31.7 percent from the field and 32.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Nov 9, 2023
Dealing with jaw injury
Goodwin is battling a jaw contusion stemming from Sunday's game against Detroit, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
While Goodwin sustained the injury Sunday in a collision, he played 17 minutes Wednesday and wore a mask. Rankin reported earlier Wednesday that Goodwin will undergo further testing Thursday. Barring any unexpected news or setbacks, Goodwin should be good to go once again Friday against the Lakers.
Nov 5, 2023
Offensive woes persist
Goodwin posted six points (2-10 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, two blocks and two steals across 16 minutes during Saturday's 112-100 loss to Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin's workload has fluctuated throughout the early phase of Phoenix's season, and he's been unable to settle into any scoring or facilitating rhythm. The opportunity to step up amid absences for Devin Booker (foot) and Bradley Beal (back) represents Goodwin's ideal scenario, but he can be removed from fantasy radar until he consistently demonstrates the ability to do so.
Oct 27, 2023
Scores 14 points from bench
Goodwin had 14 points (6-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-3 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two steals over 30 minutes during Thursday's 100-95 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
The Suns needed help from multiple players to fill the gap left by Devin Booker (heel), and Goodwin stepped up with a seven-point first-quarter spark in the second unit. The backcourt has yet to crystallize as it awaits Bradley Beal's (back) debut, but Goodwin should be a decent source of output behind Eric Gordon in the meantime.
Oct 13, 2023
Plays 15 minutes off bench
Goodwin (hamstring) posted nine points (4-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 15 minutes during Thursday's 122-111 preseason win over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin missed the Suns' first two preseason games due to right hamstring soreness but was probable ahead of Thursday's matchup. He was available off the bench and finished with a well-rounded stat line. The 24-year-old will have two more opportunities to make an impact during the preseason before the regular-season opener against the Warriors on Oct. 24.
Oct 11, 2023
Tabbed probable
Goodwin (hamstring) is probable for Thursday's game against the Trail Blazers, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has battled right hamstring soreness over the past few days and was forced to miss the Suns preseason opener due to the issue. However, after logging a full practice Wednesday, he's likely to make his first preseason appearance against Portland.
Oct 11, 2023
Full participant in practice
Goodwin (hamstring) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice and is hopeful to be available for Thursday's preseason game against Portland, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has missed the Suns' previous two preseason outings due to hamstring tightness. However, his full participation in practice is a good sign of his availability for Thursday's contest.
Oct 9, 2023
Out Tuesday
Goodwin (hamstring) won't play in Tuesday's preseason game against the Nuggets, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin will miss his team's first two exhibitions while tending to a right hamstring injury. His next chance to return will arrive Thursday in Portland.
Oct 8, 2023
Dealing with hamstring tightness
Goodwin will not play in Phoenix's preseason opener Sunday, reports Kellan Olson of ArizonaSports.com.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin's absence could be due to an abundance of caution from the Suns, but it's a notable development given his potential to earn backup point guard minutes. Goodwin's next opportunity to play is Tuesday versus Denver.
Oct 4, 2023
Active at camp
Goodwin (knee) has been active at training camp.
ANALYSIS
The Suns have not mentioned the knee issue that sidelined Goodwin during the Summer League. During Media Day, president of basketball operations James Jones mentioned Goodwin as one of the players who could get some reps at point guard this season.
Jul 15, 2023
Still out Saturday
Goodwin (knee) won't play in Saturday's Summer League game against the Grizzlies, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin will end his 2023 Summer League campaign with just one game played, as the 24-year-old was hampered by left knee soreness throughout the tournament. However, after a strong 2022-23 season in Washington, Goodwin should be a fringe rotation piece for the Suns this year.
Jul 14, 2023
Ruled out Friday
Goodwin (knee) will not play Friday against the Jazz, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has made only one appearance in the Summer League due to his left knee soreness. After what he showed with the Wizards in 2022-23, Goodwin has the potential to crack the rotation in Phoenix.
Jul 11, 2023
Out again Tuesday
Goodwin (knee) will not play in Tuesday's Summer League game against the Pelicans, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin doesn't have much to prove in the Summer League after showing a lot of promise with the Wizards in 2022-23. Hopefully the Suns are just managing the soreness in his knee. Goodwin's next chance to play is July 14 against the Jazz.
Jul 10, 2023
Won't play against Miami
Goodwin (knee) is out for Monday's Summer League game versus the Heat, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin will miss his second straight Summer League as he deals with left knee soreness. His next chance to suit up is Tuesday's matchup with New Orleans.
Jul 8, 2023
Early exit in Summer opener
Goodwin (undisclosed) tallied 12 points (5-13 FG, 1-3 3PT, 1-2 FT), four assists, three rebounds and two steals over 18 minutes of Saturday's 84-75 Summer League loss to Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin was walked back to the locker room by the Suns' trainers in the third quarter for an unknown reason and didn't return. The point guard was impressive in his limited time on the floor, making significant contributions on both ends of the floor. Goodwin's next chance to take the floor will come Monday against Miami.
Jun 18, 2023
Headed to Phoenix
The Wizards are trading Goodwin and Bradley Beal in exchange for Landry Shamet, Chris Paul, multiple second-round picks and multiple pick swaps, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin is likely to be considered a toss-in in this blockbuster trade, but he could prove valuable to Phoenix as a bench piece. In Goodwin, the Suns are getting a potential rotation piece under contract for only $1.9 million next season, plus a team option for 2024-25. In his second year as a pro, he averaged 6.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 17.8 minutes per game across 62 contests.

Apr 10, 2023
Career-best effort in Sunday's loss
Goodwin closed Sunday's 114-109 loss to the Rockets with 22 points (8-14 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals over 30 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The second-year guard set a new career high in scoring as he handled a lead role for a depleted Wizards roster. Goodwin started three of the final four games this season and played at least 20 minutes in seven of Washington's last nine contests, but he's unlikely to handle more than a depth role heading into 2023-24.
Apr 9, 2023
Starting season finale
Goodwin will draw the start for Sunday's season finale against the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin stepped out of the starting unit last game with Delon Wright taking the floor, but Wright will sit out the finale with knee soreness, opening a starting spot for Goodwin again. Goodwin averaged 28.5 minutes of action in his previous two starts and will likely log a similar workload Sunday.
Apr 7, 2023
Moves to bench
Goodwin isn't in the starting five for Friday's game versus the Heat, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Delon Wright will replace Goodwin in the starting lineup Friday. Goodwin is averaging 7.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 16.3 minutes in his last 10 games coming off the bench.
Apr 6, 2023
Brings four steals in starting role
Goodwin tallied 10 points (4-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six assists, four steals, two rebounds and one block across 29 minutes in Wednesday's 134-116 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Though he's started in consecutive games while top point guards Monte Morris (ankle) and Delon Wright (illness) have sat out along with other higher-usage players like Bradley Beal (knee), Kristaps Porzingis (illness) and Kyle Kuzma (ankle), Goodwin hasn't stepped in to fill the scoring void in any sort of major way. Despite taking on 28- and 29-minute workloads in the two starts, Goodwin has barely cleared double digits in the scoring column on both occasions while shooting a collective 38.5 percent from the field. Fortunately for those that streamed him into fantasy lineups, Goodwin hasn't been a total zero, as he's racked up 15 assists between the two contests, and he came up big in the defensive categories Wednesday.
Apr 4, 2023
Enters first unit
Goodwin will start Tuesday's game against the Bucks, Ava Wallace of The Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin will step into the starting point guard spot with Monte Morris (ankle) and Delon Wright (illness) sidelined. In four games with the first five, Goodwin has averaged 10.3 points, 4.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals across 31.1 minutes, but could see a higher usage rate with the Wizards incredibly shorthanded.
Apr 2, 2023
Produces off bench
Goodwin recorded 11 points (5-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt), seven rebounds, six assists and one steal across 25 minutes during Sunday's 118-109 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin had a bigger opportunity Sunday, as the Wizards sat Kristaps Porzingis (illness), Bradley Beal (knee), Monte Morris (ankle) and Kyle Kuzma (ankle). Despite coming off the bench, the second-year guard tied for the team-lead in rebounds and had the second most assists. The Wizards may have role players stepping into bigger roles for the rest of the season, but Goodwin might not get enough playing time to be a difference maker in fantasy.
Mar 24, 2023
Puts up solid fantasy line
Goodwin ended Friday's 136-124 victory over the Spurs with 17 points (6-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two steals over 31 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The Wizards put up 136 points against the Spurs for their third highest scoring game of the season. Goodwin has shown plenty of flashes this season when he gets opportunities, and he got a big one Friday as he cleared 30 minutes for the first time since Dec. 12. He could be an intriguing fantasy pickup down the stretch if Bradley Beal (knee) and Kyle Kuzma (ankle) miss additional time.
Mar 23, 2023
Gets double-digit minutes again
Goodwin finished Wednesday's 118-104 loss to the Nuggets with 12 points (5-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and one assist in 17 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Following a six-game stretch earlier this month in which he sat out twice in coach's decisions and logged between four and 13 minutes over his four appearances, Goodwin looked to be a fringy member of head coach Wes Unseld Jr.'s rotation. The situation has changed for Goodwin over the last two games, however, as he's taken on minutes loads in the teens while going an impressive 7-for-12 from the field between those contests. The absence of Kyle Kuzma (ankle) for the past two contests and Bradley Beal (knee) for Wednesday's game may have played a factor in Goodwin's boosted playing time, so his role will be keeping an eye on once the Wizards are back to full strength.
Feb 24, 2023
Multi-year deal with Washington
The Wizards signed Goodwin to a multi-year deal Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin opened the season on a two-way deal but quickly emerged as a rotational piece for Washington and is averaging 6.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals and 0.5 blocks in 18.1 minutes across 40 NBA appearances. With the Wizards back to full strength, Goodwin has fallen out of the rotation of late, appearing in just five of the team's past 14 contests. However, the Wizards no longer need to worry about exceeding the 50-game limit at the NBA level that comes with a two-way deal, so Goodwin could work his way back into the rotation behind the likes of Monte Morris, Delon Wright and Kendrick Nunn. Goodwin's new deal is full guaranteed for the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign, partially guaranteed next season and has a team option for 2024-25, per Josh Robbins of The Athletic.
Feb 21, 2023
Upgraded to standard deal
The Wizards plan to convert Goodwin's two-way contract into a standard NBA deal Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite being on a two-way deal, Goodwin emerged as a rotational piece for Washington this year and is averaging 6.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals-plus-blocks in 18.1 minutes across 40 appearances. With the Wizards at full strength, he's fallen out of the rotation and has appeared in just five of the team's past 14 contests. However, now Washington doesn't need to worry about exceeding the 50-game limit that comes with a two-way deal, so Goodwin could start to see more playing time again behind the likes of Monte Morris, Delon Wright and Kendrick Nunn.
Jan 16, 2023
Slides to second unit
Goodwin will come off the bench for Monday's matchup with the Warriors, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin will return to the second unit Monday after receiving a spot start in place of Monte Morris (hamstring) last time out. With Morris back and Bradley Beal (hamstring) still sidelined, Goodwin should continue to see significant action off the bench.
Jan 13, 2023
Struggles in spot start Friday
Goodwin logged five points (2-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 26 minutes during Friday's 112-108 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin was inserted into the starting lineup Friday, replacing Monte Morris who was ruled out due to a hamstring issue. Despite the increase in role, Goodwin failed to produce, ending the night as a team-worst -20. There is no word on whether Morris will miss additional time but if that is the case, Goodwin could very well stick in the opening unit. With that said, managers may be better off targeting Delon Wright, who profiles as a better per-minute option thanks to his ability to contribute across multiple categories.
Jan 13, 2023
Starting Friday
Goodwin will start Friday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Monte Morris has been ruled out with a hamstring injury, allowing Goodwin to enter the starting five for the fourth time this season. Across his previous three starts, the two-way guard has averaged 12.0 points, 5.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in 33.0 minutes per game.
Dec 21, 2022
Lackluster results in win
Goodwin produced two points (1-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and three rebounds in 12 minutes during Tuesday's 113-110 victory over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin remained in a bench role for a fourth consecutive game Tuesday, and he was unable to generate much production in any categories while playing just 12 minutes. Over his last four appearances, he's averaged 7.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 18.5 minutes per game.
Dec 14, 2022
Returns to bench
Goodwin isn't in the starting five for Wednesday's matchup with the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Monte Morris' return to the lineup Wednesday will move Goodwin back to his bench role. Goodwin averaged 14.0 points, 6.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 37.0 minutes over his past two starts.
Dec 11, 2022
Posts another strong showing
Goodwin ended Saturday's 114-107 loss to the Clippers with 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, six assists and six steals over 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin got off to a slow start in this one by scoring only two points in the first quarter, but he knocked down three of seven attempts from the field in the second period and ultimately turned in a solid scoring night. After averaging 5.0 points through his first three games in December, Goodwin has responded by pouring in 19 and 17 points in his last two matchups, respectively.
Dec 10, 2022
Starting with Morris out
Goodwin will start Saturday's game against the Clippers, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Wizards are thin Saturday, as Bradley Beal (hamstring), Will Barton (foot), Monte Morris (groin), Rui Hachimura (ankle) and Delon Wright (hamstring) are sidelined. Goodwin will make the second start of his career Saturday. Per 36 minutes, he's averaging 12.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.2 blocks.
Dec 9, 2022
Scores career-high 19 points
Goodwin had 19 points (6-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, three assists and five steals across 34 minutes during Friday's 121-111 loss to the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin scored eight of his 19 points in the nine fourth-quarter minutes. It was a career night for the 24-year-old as he set a new career-high in scoring and minutes played. The strong performance ended a four-game skid where he went 7-for-25 from the field and scored a combined 20 points. Over the last 16 games, he's seen an increased role with Washington and is averaging 23.1 minutes per contest in that span.
Dec 3, 2022
Low minutes in loss
Goodwin notched three points (1-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt), six rebounds and one assist across 14 minutes during Friday's 117-116 loss to the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin hit his only shot toward the end of the third quarter, and then didn't see the floor at all in the fourth. Coach Steve Clifford went with a bigger lineup and stuck with it as they were making a huge comeback. This is the second straight game that Goodwin saw less than 20 minutes, which might be something to monitor.
Nov 23, 2022
Set to make first career start
Goodwin is in the starting five for Wednesday's game against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin gets the start Wednesday with Bradley Beal (thigh) out. Goodwin will make his first career start and his 13th NBA appearance against Miami.
Nov 20, 2022
Will play Sunday
Goodwin (knee) will be available for Sunday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has been a key piece off the bench for Washington this season, averaging nearly 24 minutes per game over his last six appearances, and his availability in this game could be huge for a Wizards team that's lacking depth on the backcourt. With Monte Morris (ankle) downgraded to out, Goodwin might be in line for an increase in both minutes and usage rate here.
Nov 19, 2022
Questionable for Sunday
Goodwin (knee) is labeled questionable for Sunday's contest versus the Hornets, Sam Perley of the Hornets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has been a key piece off the bench for Washington this season, averaging nearly 24 minutes per game over his last six appearances. His status will certainly be worth monitoring Sunday in tandem with starting point guard Marcus Morris (ankle), who is also considered questionable.
Nov 18, 2022
Unavailable Friday
Goodwin (knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Miami.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin played at least 20 minutes in each of the last six matchups and averaged 8.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 23.8 minutes per game during that time. However, he'll be forced to miss at least one game due to left knee soreness. His next chance to return will be Sunday against Charlotte.
Nov 17, 2022
Questionable Friday
Goodwin (knee) is questionable for Friday's game against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin suffered the injury during Wednesday's loss to the Thunder. Even with Bradley Beal back from COVID-19 protocols, it appears Goodwin may stay in the rotation. However, he may have to rest his knee before resuming his newfound role.
Nov 17, 2022
Suffers knee injury
Wizards coach Wes Unseld Jr. said Goodwin is undergoing testing for a knee injury he sustained in Wednesday's 121-120 loss to the Thunder, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Wizards will have to wait for testing results to know the extent of Goodwin's injury, but his status for Friday's game versus Miami is uncertain. If Goodwin misses any time, Monte Morris should receive extended minutes, and Johnny Davis may be recalled from the G League.
Nov 13, 2022
Strong shooting from downtown
Goodwin logged 10 points (3-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 26 minutes during Sunday's 102-92 victory over Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin did nearly all of his scoring from beyond the arc, as he's now knocked down three triples in back-to-back contests. He's continuing to carve out a role for himself while Johnny Davis struggles to find his stride in the NBA. Goodwin is averaging 24.6 minutes to go with 9.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists in his last five games.
Nov 11, 2022
Contributes across board
Goodwin contributed two points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt), seven rebounds, six assists and one steal over 29 minutes during Thursday's 113-105 win over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has performed well recently in his extended action, tallying additional minutes in the absence of Bradley Beal (COVID-19 protocols). He may be a temporary fantasy option in some formats but will likely only remain viable until Beal is cleared to return.
Nov 7, 2022
Career-best effort Monday
Goodwin totaled 17 points (7-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, five assists and two blocks in 21 minutes during Monday's 108-100 win over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
In his seventh career NBA game, Goodwin couldn't miss as he nearly doubled his previous best scoring performance -- a mark set in the Wizards' last game. With Bradley Beal stuck in the COVID-19 protocols and Delon Wright (hamstring) lacking a timetable for his return, there have been minutes available in the Washington backcourt, and Goodwin's performance the last couple nights may result in him keeping a rotational role even after Beal is back.
Nov 6, 2022
Unexpected production in Memphis
Goodwin provided nine points (4-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt), eight rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals over 26 minutes during Sunday's 103-97 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin had totaled eight points, five rebounds and three assists over three contests heading into Sunday's game, but he beat each of those numbers in Sunday's contest alone. With Johnny Davis being sent to the G League, it appears a sizable opportunity has opened up for Goodwin within the Washington rotation. He should continue to see backup point guard minutes behind Monte Morris until Davis is deemed ready to rejoin the Wizards.
Oct 30, 2022
Scores season-high six points
Goodwin racked up six points (3-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 18 minutes during Sunday's 112-94 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
In his second appearance of the season, Goodwin had a solid outing. He had only played two minutes over the Wizards' first five contests but received 18 minutes off the bench Sunday, including seven in the fourth quarter when the game was out of hand. He played just six minutes for Washington last season, spending most of his time in the G League with Capital City Go-Go and may end up back there at some point this season if he cannot secure regular minutes.
Oct 15, 2022
Contract converted to two-way deal
Goodwin's Exhibit 10 contract was converted to a two-way deal Saturday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin saw six total minutes with the Wizards last season. He spent most of his time in the G League with the Captial City Go-Go. There, in 31 regular-season appearances (all starts), he averaged 16.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.0 steals. He built off those numbers this preseason, where he averaged 9.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals in 17.5 minutes. With the Wizards a bit thin at point guard, Goodwin may get more opportunities this year.
Sep 13, 2022
Inks Exhibit 10 with Washington
Goodwin signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Wizards on Tuesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
The guard should join the Wizards for camp, but it would be surprising if he made the final roster.
Feb 16, 2022
Sniffs double-double
Goodwin registered 26 points (8-18 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-7 FT), nine rebounds, four assists and three steals across 37 minutes in Friday's win over the Grand Rapids.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin carried the Go-Go on offense but also impressed in other areas of the game, ending just one rebound away from a double-double and also making his presence felt both as a defender and as a playmaker. It's also worth noting that Goodwin has scored at least 20 points in three of his last five contests.
Jan 17, 2022
Two boards shy of double-double
Goodwin delivered 22 points (9-12 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and three steals across 32 minutes in Saturday's win over the Swarm.
ANALYSIS
Aside from ending close to a double-double, Goodwin was particularly efficient and only needed 12 shots to surpass the 20-point mark once again. He's averaging 14.8 points per game on the season and should remain a capable offensive contributor for the Go-Go as long as he remains healthy.
Jan 3, 2022
Triple-doubles in showcase
Goodwin recorded 10 points (5-16 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 0-2 FT), 12 rebounds, 10 assists and three steals across 33 minutes in a win over Iowa on Dec. 20.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin was one of five players that scored in double digits in this game and while he was far from being the top scorer in this contest, he certainly made his presence felt with a strong effort across the board. It was his first triple-double of the G League campaign.
Dec 26, 2021
Inks 10-day with Washington
The Wizards are planning to sign Jordan Goodwin to a 10-day hardship deal, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Goodwin has been playing for Washington's G League affiliate Capital City Go-Go this season and will get his first opportunity to suit up for the Wizards. The team is currently down three guards who are all in the league's COVID-19 protocol but Goodwin still isn't likely to see the floor unless the Wizards are involved in a blowout or more players continue to go into health and safety protocols.
