Cleared to play Tuesday
Hawkins (illness) is good to go for Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will shake off a questionable tag and is set to return from a two-game absence. He's been very underwhelming this season, posting averages of 5.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 15.2 minutes per contest.
Dec 1, 2025
Questionable to face Minnesota
Hawkins (illness) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins remains under the weather and is in danger of missing his third consecutive contest. If the 23-year-old guard is ultimately ruled out, Bryce McGowens and Jose Alvarado are candidates for a slight uptick in playing time.
Nov 30, 2025
Won't play Sunday
Hawkins (illness) is out for Sunday's game versus the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will miss his second straight game and Herbert Jones (calf), Trey Murphy (elbow), Jordan Poole (quad) and Zion Williamson (hamstring) will join him on the inactive list. Jose Alvarado and Jeremiah Fears should be getting all the run they can handle Sunday evening.
Nov 28, 2025
Listed out for Saturday
Hawkins (illness) is out for Saturday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins is battling an illness, which will keep him out Saturday. The guard can be considered day-to-day ahead of Sunday's tilt against the Lakers. With Hawkins out, Micah Peavy should see enough playing time to be worth streaming against Golden State.
Nov 25, 2025
Cleared for Wednesday
Hawkins (personal) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins missed Monday's game against Chicago for personal reasons, but he'll be back in action for Wednesday's clash. He hasn't had much of an impact lately, averaging 6.0 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 17.8 minutes over his last five appearances.
Nov 24, 2025
Out for personal reasons
Hawkins (personal) is out for Monday's game against the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
It's not immediately clear how long Hawkins will be away from the team. Hawkins had been limited to minutes in the teens in his last three appearances. Guys like Jose Alvarado, Saddiq Bey and Micah Peavy could see a small bump in minutes with this news.
Nov 18, 2025
Drops 11 off bench in loss
Hawkins chipped in 11 points (5-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt), two rebounds and six assists in 25 minutes during Monday's 126-109 loss to Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins saw a season-high in minutes Monday, primarily due to the respective absences of Jordan Poole (quadriceps), Saddiq Bey (ankle) and Zion Williamson (hamstring), and he was able to capitalize on the opportunity, scoring in double-digits for the first time this season. The durations of the aforementioned players' respective absences are unknown, but for the time being, Hawkins will be a part of the rotation until the team gets healthier.
Nov 11, 2025
Held to one point
Hawkins finished Monday's 121-98 loss to the Suns with one point (0-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-3 FT) and one rebound across 16 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins continues to struggle at the back end of the rotation in New Orleans. Through nine regular-season contests, Hawkins is shooting 26.1 percent from the field and 20.8 percent from beyond the arc with averages of 3.8 points and 1.6 rebounds in 15.0 minutes per contest. He's way too cold to be in utilized in most fantasy formats at the moment.
Nov 3, 2025
Records no stats in loss
Hawkins racked up zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) over seven minutes during Sunday's 137-106 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins has slowly fallen in the depth chart, as he has seen his second straight contest with less than 10 minutes played despite averaging 16.7 minutes in the first three games of the season. With Jordan Poole being moved to the bench, Hawkins' role has seemingly diminished, and will likely only see the court in the event of injury or blowouts.
Oct 28, 2025
Scoreless in loss
Hawkins ended Monday's 122-90 loss to Boston with zero points (0-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist across 15 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Despite being the primary backup to Trey Murphy, Hawkins has not been able to produce much during his time on the court. He has not recorded a steal or block in the first three games of the season and is shooting 35.7 percent from the field. Hawkins' next opportunity to bounce back from Monday's scoreless output would be Wednesday against the Nuggets.
Oct 18, 2025
Option picked up
The Pelicans picked up Hawkins' team option Saturday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This is the fourth-year option for Hawkins and locks him in through the 2026-27 campaign. Hawkins appeared in 56 regular-season games last season and averaged 10.8 points and 2.8 rebounds across 23.6 minutes per game. He may struggle to match that role with the Pelicans adding Jeremiah Fears to the mix.
Oct 17, 2025
Notches 15 points
Hawkins produced 15 points (6-11 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound, one assist and two turnovers across 17 minutes of Thursday's 132-125 preseason loss to Orlando.
ANALYSIS
Saddiq Bey took the night off for rest, allowing Hawkins to see additional touches off the bench. Jeremiah Fears has been soaking up a ton of usage with the second unit, however, and that could lower Hawkins' ceiling this season.
Oct 5, 2025
Scores 14 points in win
Hawkins had 14 points (6-13 FG, 2-8 3Pt) and one steal across 20 minutes in Saturday's 127-92 exhibition game win over the Melbourne Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins led the second unit in points and finished as the team's third-leading scorer. The No. 14 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft appeared in just 56 regular-season games (nine starts) last season due largely to back issues, averaging 10.8 points and 2.8 rebounds across 23.6 minutes per game. The 23-year-old is likely to play a meaningful role behind Trey Murphy (foot) this season.
Sep 23, 2025
Deemed 100 percent for camp
Hawkins (back) said Tuesday that he hasn't had any health issues for the entire summer, Erin Summers of the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins missed the final eight games of the 2024-25 regular season with a nagging back problem, but the guard said he's "1,000 percent" better. The Pelicans will look a lot different in 2025-26, as Trey Murphy, Herbert Jones and Zion Williamson are all healthy, and the team will be welcoming some new additions in Jordan Poole, Jeremiah Fears and Saddiq Bey. Hawkins is penciled in as the backup shooting guard, but minutes will not be easy to come by.
Apr 12, 2025
Sidelined for season finale
Hawkins (back) is out for Sunday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will end up missing an eighth straight game in the season finale due to a nagging back problem. Antonio Reeves should continue to handle an increased role in Hawkins' absence. Hawkins will finish the season with averages of 10.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game across 56 appearances (nine starts).
Apr 11, 2025
Another absence coming
Hawkins (back) will not play Friday against the Heat.
ANALYSIS

Apr 9, 2025
Sitting out Thursday

Apr 7, 2025
Won't suit up Tuesday
Hawkins (back) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins is slated to miss his fifth straight game due to a back injury. There's no clear timetable for the 22-year-old's return, though it wouldn't be a surprise if the non-contending Pelicans exercise caution with Hawkins moving forward. His next chance to play will come Thursday against the Bucks.
Apr 5, 2025
Remains out for Sunday
Hawkins (back) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will miss a fourth straight game for the Pelicans as he deals with a back issue. The next chance for him to return to the floor for New Orleans will be Tuesday against the Nets.
Apr 3, 2025
Ruled out for Friday
Hawkins (back) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will miss a third straight game for the Pelicans on Friday while dealing with back spasms. Due to Hawkins' absence, Antonio Reaves could see more time on the floor against the Lakers.
Apr 1, 2025
Won't play Wednesday
Hawkins (back) is out for Wednesday's game versus the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will miss his second straight contest Wednesday due to back spasms. Antonio Reeves could draw another start in his absence. Hawkins' next chance to suit up is Friday's matchup with the Lakers.
Mar 30, 2025
Won't suit up Sunday
Hawkins (back) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will miss his first game since Jan. 31 due to back spasms. His next chance to play will come Wednesday against the Clippers. Bruce Brown and Antonio Reeves will likely see a bump in minutes due to Hawkins being sidelined.
Mar 29, 2025
Questionable vs. Charlotte
Hawkins (back) has been listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins has started the last two games for the Pelicans but is in danger of missing Sunday's matchup against Charlotte due to a back issue. The 22-year-old guard is averaging 10.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game, shooting 37.2 percent from the floor and 33.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Mar 27, 2025
Will play vs. GSW
Hawkins (ankle) has been cleared to play in Friday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins has been dealing with an ankle issue, but that won't keep him off the floor Friday against Golden State. The 22-year-old guard is averaging 10.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game, shooting 37.5 percent from the floor and 33.2 percent from deep this season.
Mar 24, 2025
Won't return Monday
Hawkins won't return during Monday's game against the 76ers due to a left ankle injury, though his X-rays came back negative. He'll finish the game with nine points (4-14 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 0-2 FT), five rebounds and one assist across 24 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins sustained the ankle injury during the first half and limped back to the locker room before returning for the start of the second, per Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com. While the 22-year-old attempted to play through the injury, he eventually exited to the locker room with 4:44 remaining in the third quarter and was ruled out shortly thereafter. Antonio Reeves and Lester Quinones are candidates for a bump in minutes the rest of the way.
Mar 24, 2025
Starting sans McCollum
Hawkins will start in Monday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
The 22-year-old shooting guard will return to the starting five due to CJ McCollum (rest) being sidelined. Hawkins has made seven starts on the season, averaging 19.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals across 33.1 minutes per contest.
Mar 23, 2025
Ties season high off bench
Hawkins chipped in 25 points (8-13 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and two assists over 31 minutes during Sunday's 136-130 loss to Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins shined off the Pelicans bench in Sunday's contest, leading all players in threes made while ending second on the team in scoring in an offensive outburst. Hawkins set a new season high in threes made while matching his season high in scoring, a mark he last recorded Dec. 22.
Mar 11, 2025
Retreating to bench
Hawkins isn't in the starting five for Tuesday's game versus the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Bruce Brown will replace Hawkins in the starting five Tuesday. Hawkins is averaging 10.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 23.2 minutes across his previous 10 appearances coming off the bench.
Mar 9, 2025
Starting Sunday vs. Memphis
Hawkins is in the Pelicans' starting lineup against the Grizzlies on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will make his seventh start of the season (and fourth since the beginning of January) due to the absence of CJ McCollum (rest). Hawkins has averaged 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists over 24.8 minutes per game since the All-Star break.
Mar 5, 2025
Productive in loss
Hawkins produced 17 points (6-14 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 29 minutes during Tuesday's 136-115 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins has now reached double figures in five of his last six games for the Pelicans. With Jose Alvarado struggling, more opportunities could come Hawkins' way. During that stretch, Hawkins has produced averages of 13.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 25.5 minutes.
Mar 2, 2025
Back to bench Sunday
Hawkins is not in the Pelicans' starting lineup against the Jazz on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins made his sixth start of the season during Friday's loss to the Suns, but he will retreat to the bench Sunday due to the return of CJ McCollum. Hawkins finished Friday's game with 24 points, four assists, two rebounds, three steals and one block over 31 minutes.
Mar 1, 2025
Co-leads NOLA in scoring
Hawkins amassed 24 points (10-17 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, four assists, one block and three steals over 31 minutes during Friday's 125-108 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
The Pelicans were without Zion Williamson (rest) and CJ McCollum (rest/ankle) in the second leg of this back-to-back set, so Hawkins embraced the opportunity and co-led the team in scoring alongside Yves Missi, who also finished with a 24-point display. Hawkins has scored in double digits in seven of his last 10 appearances despite starting just once over that span, averaging 10.9 points, 2.9 boards and 1.8 dimes per contest in that stretch.
Feb 28, 2025
Starting Friday vs. Phoenix
Hawkins is in the Pelicans' starting lineup against the Suns on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will make his sixth start of the season Friday due to the absence of CJ McCollum (ankle). Hawkins has averaged 20.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steals over 35.3 minutes per game as a starter this season.
Feb 28, 2025
Scores 10 in win
Hawkins recorded 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-7 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 23 minutes in Thursday's 124-116 win over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins has scored in double figures in each contest of the Pelicans' three-game winning streak. The second-year guard has had runs of above-average play, but has struggled with efficiency. In his last 10 games, the 22-year-old is averaging 8.5 points on 34.1 percent shooting.
Feb 14, 2025
Leads bench in victory
Hawkins closed Thursday's 140-133 overtime win over the Kings with 16 points (5-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four assists, two rebounds and two blocks over 26 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The second-year guard tied Jeremiah Robinson-Earl for the bench high in points during an efficient outing Thursday. Additionally, Hawkins recorded multiple blocks for just the third time this season. Over his last five outings, the 22-year-old has averaged 9.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.6 three-pointers across 21.8 minutes per contest.
Feb 7, 2025
Fades injury report
Hawkins (ankle) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Saturday's game against Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins injured his left ankle during the Pelicans' 144-119 loss to the Nuggets on Wednesday. He underwent X-rays after the game which came back negative, and the injury isn't severe enough for the second-year guard to be in jeopardy of missing Saturday's contest. Hawkins has averaged 10.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.9 steals over 21.6 minutes per game since the beginning of January.
Feb 5, 2025
Suffers ankle injury
Hawkins suffered an apparent ankle injury late in Wednesday's 144-119 loss to Denver. X-rays on Hawkins' ankle came back negative, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins finished the contest with 15 points (5-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal across 25 minutes. He looked to be in significant pain when he sustained the injury, but it's encouraging that Hawkins' X-rays came back negative. He should be considered day-to-day.
Feb 3, 2025
Available against Denver
Hawkins (illness) is available for Monday's game versus Denver.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins is set to return from a three-game absence and there's no word of any restrictions. With Dejounte Murray (Achilles) ruled out for the season, Hawkins is one of several players who could step into a larger role for the Pelicans.
Feb 2, 2025
Questionable against Denver
Hawkins (illness) is questionable for Monday's game against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins could miss a third straight game due to illness. If he is unable to go, Brandon Boston figures to maintain a larger role than usual.
Jan 31, 2025
Won't go Friday
Hawkins (illness) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Boston.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will miss his second consecutive contest due to a non-COVID illness, and his next opportunity to feature will come Monday against Denver. With the second-year pro on the shelf, Javonte Green and Brandon Boston are candidates for an uptick in playing time, especially if Zion Williamson (illness) joins Hawkins on the sideline.
Jan 30, 2025
Questionable for Friday
Hawkins (illness) is questionable for Friday's game against Boston.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins is in jeopardy of missing his second consecutive contest due to a non-COVID illness. If the second-year pro is sidelined once again, Brandon Boston and Javonte Green are candidates for a slight bump in minutes.
Jan 29, 2025
Won't play Wednesday
Hawkins (illness) will not play Wednesday against the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins was a late addition to the injury report, presumably after waking up under the weather. His next chance to play comes Friday against Boston. With Hawkins unavailable, it's possible that Javonte Green and Jose Alvarado each pick up a handful of minutes.
Jan 27, 2025
Back in bench role
Hawkins isn't starting Monday's game against the Raptors, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins drew a spot start at Saturday in the absence of Dejounte Murray (finger), but the Uconn product will return to a bench role Monday. He's averaging 14.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.4 steals in his last five appearances as a reserve.
Jan 25, 2025
Chips in 14 points in spot start
Hawkins ended Saturday's 123-92 loss to the Hornets with 14 points (5-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, one assist and three steals across 39 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins made his fifth start of the regular season due to the absence of Dejounte Murray (finger). Hawkins led the Pelicans in steals Saturday while finishing third in scoring behind Zion Williamson (28) and Trey Murphy (16). Hawkins could be in the Pelicans' starting five against the Raptors on Monday if Murray -- who will undergo X-rays on his right hand -- is not cleared to play.
Jan 25, 2025
Starting Saturday
Hawkins is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins is coming off a 20-point performance in the loss to the Grizzlies on Friday and has scored in double digits in his last four appearances. He'll start in place of Dejounte Murray (finger).
Jan 25, 2025
Puts up 20 points off bench
Hawkins finished with 20 points (8-18 FG, 4-10 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and two steals in 32 minutes during Friday's 139-126 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins can get hot in any game, and that's precisely what happened Friday in this high-scoring loss. This was his fourth straight game with double-digit points off the bench, though his monthly average falls to 10.3 points per game when factoring in his 12 appearances in January (one start). Hawkins would have more upside in a starting role, but as things stand now, he's nothing more than an option on deep formats and a potential streaming alternative due to his scoring prowess, but his role limits his upside considerably.
Jan 21, 2025
Scores 18 points in loss
Hawkins accumulated 18 points (5-8 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), one rebound and two steals in 21 minutes during Monday's 123-119 overtime win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
The Pelicans have been dealing with numerous injuries, and Zion Williamson was added to the shelf Monday due to an illness. Hawkins has seen at least 20 minutes in four straight games, putting him on the streaming radar in deeper formats. During that stretch, he averaged 12.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 2.3 three-pointers on 45.9 percent shooting from the field.
Jan 16, 2025
Serviceable two-way effort
Hawkins supplied 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and three steals across 21 minutes during Wednesday's 119-116 victory over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins recorded a season-high three steals, scoring double-digits for just the third time in the past 12 games. As the Pelicans start to get more bodies back on the floor, Hawkins' role is likely to be reduced. Over the past month, he has averaged a modest 8.7 points and 1.8 three-pointers in 19.3 minutes per game.
Jan 12, 2025
Reverts to bench
Hawkins won't start Sunday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
With Trey Murphy (ankle) and Zion Williamson (suspension) back in action, Hawkins and Javonte Green will return to bench roles. As a reserve this season (19 games), Hawkins has averaged 8.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.0 assists in 21.1 minutes per game. Hawkins should continue to see consistent minutes as long as Brandon Ingram (ankle) and Herbert Jones (shoulder) remain sidelined.
Jan 10, 2025
Busts slump with 21 points
Hawkins had 21 points (7-15 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 2-3 FT), two rebounds, two assists and two steals over 31 minutes during Friday's 123-115 victory over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
In his fourth start of the season for the Pelicans on Friday, Hawkins broke out of an eight-game slump that saw him shoot 22.4 percent from the floor with his highest scoring output since notching 25 points in a Dec. 22 loss to Denver. Across his four contests as a starter in 2024-25, the former first-rounder is averaging 21.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 3.5 threes in 34.5 minutes. If Brandon Ingram (ankle) and Trey Murphy (ankle) remain on the shelf for Sunday's difficult matchup against the defending-champion Celtics, Hawkins could get another opportunity with New Orleans' first unit to return amplified fantasy value.
Jan 10, 2025
Joining first unit
Hawkins is a member of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
With Trey Murphy (ankle) and Herbert Jones (shoulder) out of action for the Pelicans on Friday, Hawkins will make his fourth start of the season and his first since Nov. 3. Although Hawkins is shooting just 22.4 percent from the floor over his last eight games, the former first-rounder is averaging 21.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 3.0 threes in 35.6 minutes across three appearances in New Orleans' first unit in 2024-25.
Jan 9, 2025
Stays ice-cold in rout
Hawkins finished Wednesday's 119-100 loss to the Trail Blazers with 10 points (4-16 FG, 2-9 3Pt), one rebound and one assist in 25 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins has cooled down dramatically since a red-hot start to the campaign, as Wednesday signified his first time hitting double digits in scoring since a Dec. 22 loss to Denver. Even so, he shot a woeful 4-for-16 from the field against Portland. The 22-year-old former first-round pick has been ice-cold over his last eight games, shooting 22.4 percent from the floor while posting averages of 6.0 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 1.3 threes in 16.5 minutes. It's worth noting Trey Murphy (ankle), Herbert Jones (shoulder) and Brandon Boston (leg) are each banged up heading into Friday's tilt against the 76ers, so the Pelicans could be forced to hand Hawkins more minutes in that one despite the sharpshooter's recent woes.
Dec 27, 2024
Good to go against Memphis
Hawkins (thumb) is available for Friday's game versus the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins has been upgraded from questionable to available Friday despite dealing with a right thumb contusion. The 22-year-old guard should operate as one of New Orleans' top options off the bench in the backcourt.
Dec 27, 2024
Deemed questionable Friday
Hawkins (thumb) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins is in jeopardy of missing Friday's contest while he deals with a right thumb contusion that he sustained during Thursday's loss to the Rockets. The 22-year-old has appeared in four consecutive outings following an eight-game absence due to a lumbar spine annular fissure, during which he has averaged 11.0 points, 1.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and 0.8 assists across 22.3 minutes per contest. If Hawkins is sidelined, Brandon Boston and Antonio Reeves are candidates to receive an uptick in playing time off the bench.
Dec 20, 2024
Handles modest role in return
Hawkins (spine) recorded five points (2-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt), one rebound and one block in 17 minutes off the bench in Thursday's 133-113 loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins suited up for the first time since Nov. 27, after he had missed the last eight games with a lumbar spine annular fissure. Though the second-year guard has occasionally shown the ability to provide a scoring punch off the bench, he offers few contributions in other categories and will likely struggle to clear 20 minutes in most games while CJ McCollum and Trey Murphy are available on the wing.
Dec 19, 2024
Good to go against Houston
Hawkins (back) is available for Thursday's game versus the Rockets, Erin Summers of the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will return to action Thursday after missing New Orleans' last eight games due to a back injury. However, the 22-year-old guard will likely log less than his season average of 27.5 minutes per contest as he works his way back toward a full workload.
Dec 18, 2024
Questionable to play Thursday
Hawkins (back) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Rockets,
ANALYSIS
Hawkins has missed the Pelicans' last eight games due to a nagging back injury. Even though the questionable sheds some light on a potential return, it's unclear if he'll be ready to go -- and even if he is, he might have a minutes restriction off the bench. Hawkins is averaging 13.1 points per game this season while starting in three of his 11 appearances.
Dec 14, 2024
Still out
Hawkins (back) is out for Sunday's game versus the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will miss his eighth straight game Sunday due to a back injury. The second-year guard's next chance to suit up is Thursday's matchup with Houston.
Dec 11, 2024
Absence to continue Thursday
Hawkins (back) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins' next opportunities to take the court comes Sunday versus Indiana or Thursday versus Houston, representing rare extended mid-season periods to heal. Brandon Ingram (ankle) and Zion Williamson (hamstring) both continue dealing with extended absences for the injury-riddled Pelicans.
Dec 4, 2024
Multi-game absence forthcoming
Hawkins (back) has been diagnosed with a lumbar spine annular fissure and will be re-assessed in approximately one week
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will likely be out for New Orleans' upcoming three contests, now possessing a formal diagnosis following weeks of back soreness. Brandon Boston has emerged as a bonafide contributor on a nightly basis, while the potential return of Herbert Jones (shoulder) in coming days will also add depth on the wings.
Dec 2, 2024
Out again Monday
Hawkins (back) will not play Monday against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will miss his third game in a row Monday, and he's now missed 11 of the past 17 games for the Pelicans. His next chance to play is Thursday against the Suns, so he does have a few days off to get right.
Nov 30, 2024
Not playing Sunday
Hawkins (back) is out for Sunday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins is dealing with low back soreness and is set to miss a second straight game -- and it'll be his 10th absence across 16 games since the beginning of November. His next chance to play will come against the Hawks on Monday in the second leg of a back-to-back set.
Nov 29, 2024
Ruled out Friday
Hawkins (back) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins has been a mainstay on the injury report due to lingering lower back soreness and will miss his ninth matchup out of 20 regular-season games for the Pelicans. The second-year guard played through the issue in the club's last three outings, during which he averaged only 4.7 points and 2.0 rebounds while shooting 21.7 percent from the floor across 20.0 minutes per game. Hawkins' next chance to feature will come Sunday against the Knicks.
Nov 28, 2024
Back on injury report
Hawkins is questionable for Friday's game against the Grizzlies due to low back soreness.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins is back on the injury report with a lingering back issue. He has appeared in three straight games since a two-week absence but has been far from sharp, averaging 4.7 points per game while shooting 21.7 percent from the field.

Hawkins (back) is available for Wednesday's game against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins, Dejounte Murray and CJ McCollum will all be available, but Brandon Ingram (calf) and Trey Murphy (knee) are both out. Hawkins has appeared in two straight games since missing seven straight due to a low back strain, but he hasn't been sharp, scoring eight points on 3-for-14 shooting.
Nov 26, 2024
Iffy for Wednesday
Hawkins is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Raptors due to back spasms.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins has appeared in two straight games since missing seven straight due to a low back strain, but he hasn't been sharp, scoring eight points on 3-for-14 shooting. Brandon Ingram (calf) and Trey Murphy (knee) are also questionable, while Dejounte Murray (hand) is probable.
Nov 23, 2024
Shoots poorly in return
Hawkins (back) played 20 minutes off the bench and scored six points (2-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT) while adding one rebound, one steal and one block in Friday's 112-108 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
While the contributions in the defensive categories were a nice surprise from Hawkins, the offensive-minded second-year guard wasn't able to deliver much of a scoring punch off the bench in his return from a seven-game absence due to a low back strain. The Pelicans were without six players due to injury Friday, but Hawkins may not see his playing time pick up dramatically during the club's upcoming four-game week, as CJ McCollum (adductor), Yves Missi (shoulder), Herbert Jones (shoulder) and Dejounte Murray (hand) could all be candidates to return to action within the next several days.
Nov 22, 2024
Returning to action Friday
Hawkins (back) is listed as available for Friday's game versus the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
After a seven-game absence streak Hawkins will return to game action for Friday's NBA Cup game. it is unclear if the 22-year-old will operate under a minutes restriction, though he could see significant run with CJ McCollum (adductor), Dejounte Murray (hand) and Jose Alvarado (hamstring) out.
Nov 21, 2024
Deemed questionable for Friday
Hawkins (back) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins has missed the Pelicans' last seven outings due to a low back strain, though he appears to be nearing a return to game action. The second-year guard has returned to practice in a limited fashion, and the club could opt to work him back to playing form slowly. If Hawkins is ruled out, Brandon Boston and Elfrid Payton will likely continue to see an uptick in playing time.
Nov 15, 2024
Back on court
Hawkins (back) is back on the court but not doing any contact yet, so his return date remains uncertain, Jim Eichenhofer of the Pelicans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The fact that Hawkins is back on the court is an encouraging sign, but the lack of contact in his return to practice suggests he's not ready to return yet. In any case, any positive sign would be welcomed news for a Pelicans backcourt that's also missing key pieces such as CJ McCollum (thigh), Jose Alvarado (hamstring) and Dejounte Murray (hand).
Nov 8, 2024
Out at least one week
The Pelicans announced that Hawkins will miss 1-to-2 weeks due to a low back strain, Erin Summers of Bally Sports New Orleans reports.
ANALYSIS
The second-year pro was set for a significant uptick in playing time in a depleted backcourt that's already missing Dejounte Murray (hand) and CJ McCollum (thigh). Hawkins returned to game action off the bench in Wednesday's loss to Cleveland, though it's clear he was not ready for a return after shooting 1-for-7 from the field in only 19 minutes. In his absence, Brandon Boston and Jaylen Nowell are candidates to receive increased playing time.
Nov 7, 2024
Won't play against Orlando
Hawkins (back) is out for Friday's game versus the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins returned to action Wednesday but is now set to miss another contest Friday due to lower back tightness. In his absence, Brandon Boston and Jaylen Nowell are candidates to receive increased playing time. Hawkins' next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Brooklyn.
Nov 6, 2024
Good to go Wednesday
Hawkins (back) is available for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers, Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins missed the Pelicans most recent contest with lower back tightness, but he's been given the green light ahead of Wednesday's tilt. With New Orleans battling several injuries, Hawkins has stepped into a featured role. He's averaging 21.7 points and 3.7 rebounds over 35.7 minutes in his last three appearances (all starts).
Nov 5, 2024
Iffy against Cleveland
Hawkins (back) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Cavaliers, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins is in danger of missing his second straight contest Wednesday while dealing with lower-back tightness. With CJ McCollum (thigh) already out multiple weeks, Brandon Boston could receive another start if Hawkins is sidelined yet again.
Nov 4, 2024
Won't play vs. Portland
Hawkins (back) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Trail Blazers, Erin Summers of Bally Sports New Orleans reports.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins has been in the Pelicans' starting five in each of the last three games, and over that span he has averaged 21.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists over 35.7 minutes per game. However, he appears to be dealing with lower back tightness following Sunday's loss to the Hawks, and he'll sit out Monday for the second leg of this back-to-back set. Javonte Green, Jaylen Nowell and Antonio Reeves should all see increased playing time due to Hawkins being sidelined.
Nov 4, 2024
Iffy for Monday
Hawkins is questionable for Monday's game against Portland due to lower back tightness.
ANALYSIS
The Pelicans have yet another injury concern with Hawkins popping up on the report. If Hawkins is unable to play the second leg of this back-to-back set, Brandon Boston and Jamal Cain could both see hefty workloads Monday.
Nov 4, 2024
Puts up 19 points in loss
Hawkins racked up 19 points (7-18 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one block in 31 minutes during Sunday's 126-111 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins has been dealing with back tightness over the last few days, but the 22-year-old guard continues to play through the injury in what has been a breakout beginning to the season for him. The second-year player out of UConn has scored at least 15 points in five of his last six appearances and is averaging 21.7 points per game in a starting role. Expect him to maintain his role in the first unit for the foreseeable future -- or as long as Dejounte Murray (hand) and CJ McCollum (thigh) remain sidelined.
Nov 3, 2024
Available Sunday
Hawkins (back) is available for Sunday's game against the Hawks, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins is dealing with back tightness, though he will play through it in a depleted Pelicans' backcourt. The 22-year-old is in for an increased role in the starting five with CJ McCollum (thigh), Dejounte Murray (hand), Herbet Jones (shoulder), Trey Murphey (hamstring) and Zion Williamson (hamstring) all out. Hawkins has averaged 17.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists across 32.0 minutes per game through six regular-season outings.
Nov 2, 2024
Dealing with back tightness
Hawkins (back) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins is dealing with lower back tightness, and he is in jeopardy of missing his first game of the regular season. He injured his back during Friday's game against the Pacers which caused him to visit the locker room a couple times, and he finished that contest with 23 points, four rebounds and one assist over 37 minutes.
Nov 2, 2024
Goes for 23 points in win
Hawkins notched 23 points (7-17 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 7-8 FT), four rebounds and one assist in 37 minutes during Friday's 125-118 win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins brushed off a mid-game locker room trip, scoring at least 20 points for the third time in the past five games. New Orleans is dealing with a number of injuries to key personnel at the moment, affording Hawkins a consistent role. He is currently averaging 17.3 points and 2.5 three-pointers in 32.1 minutes per game, making Hawkins himself a key piece for the time being.
Nov 1, 2024
Returns Friday
Hawkins (back) has returned to Friday's game against the Pacers, Jim Eichenhofer of the Pelicans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins posted eight points (2-9 FG), one rebound and one assist in 21 first-half minutes, but his back injury flared up, forcing Brandon Boston to start the second half. It appears like Hawkins just needed some time with the training staff before getting the green light, and he should get ample usage the rest of the way, as the Pelicans came into the contest very shorthanded.
Nov 1, 2024
Questionable to return Friday
Hawkins is questionable to return to Friday's game against the Pacers due to low back tightness.
ANALYSIS
With the Pelicans shorthanded, Hawkins tried to play through back pain, but it looks like it flared up on him. Hawkins posted eight points (2-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound and one assist in 21 first-half minutes. Brandon Boston started the second half in Hawkins' absence.
Nov 1, 2024
Good to go Friday
Hawkins is available for Friday's game against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Hawkins will play through back spasms for the shorthanded Pelicans. With CJ McCollum (thigh), Dejounte Murray (hand) and Herbert Jones (shoulder) all out, Hawkins is expected to start and have the green light. He scored 23 points (9-21 FG) in 39 minutes during Wednesday's loss to Golden State.
Nov 1, 2024
Expected to play Friday
Coach Willie Green said Hawkins (back) is expected to play in Friday's game versus the Pacers, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins is dealing with back spasms, though he should play through the issue in a depleted backcourt. The 22-year-old is set for an increased role with CJ McCollum (thigh), Dejounte Murray (hand) and Herbert Jones (shoulder) all out for an extended period of time. Hawkins has averaged 16.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists across 31.2 minutes per game over five regular-season appearances.
Oct 31, 2024
Back on injury report
Hawkins is questionable for Friday's game against the Pacers due to lower back spasms.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins entered the starting lineup Wednesday against the Warriors and fared well, but his status is now in jeopardy for Friday. The Uconn product dealt with back spasms earlier in the week and was able to push through to suit up, so it appears he'll have a decent chance to do so again Friday barring any setbacks.
Oct 31, 2024
Paces team with 23 points
Hawkins chipped in 23 points (9-21 FG, 4-14 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds and one assist in 39 minutes during Wednesday's 104-89 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Although Hawkins began the day on the injury report, he stepped in and took advantage of CJ McCollum's (leg) untimely absence. The New Orleans backcourt has devolved into a mess, beginning with a season-ending injury to Dejounte Murray, who was expected to rule the roost with McCollum alongside him. With McCollum, Herbert Jones (shoulder) and Trey Murphy (hamstring) unavailable, the team will need to depend on Hawkins and Jose Alvarado to assume bigger roles. The results of McCollum's MRI will determine the path for Hawkins going forward.
Oct 30, 2024
In starting lineup
Hawkins is part of the first unit for Wednesday's game against the Warriors, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
With the Pelicans missing several key pieces due to injury, Hawkins will step into the starting five for the first time this season. Hawkins is averaging 14.5 points and 5.3 rebounds across 29.3 minutes per game in 2024-25.
Oct 30, 2024
Cleared to play
Hawkins (back) has been upgraded to available for Wednesday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins was considered a game-time decision Wednesday with lower back spasms, but he's been given the green light to suit up. With CJ McCollum (adductor), Herbert Jones (shoulder) and Trey Murphy (hamstring) inactive, Hawkins should see a full allotment of minutes Wednesday. Through four games, Hawkins is averaging 14.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists across 29.3 minutes.
Oct 30, 2024
Dealing with back spasms
Hawkins is a game-time decision for Wednesday's game against Golden State due to lower back spasms.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins' status will need to be monitored with CJ McCollum (adductor) muscle, Herbert Jones (shoulder) and Trey Murphy (hamstring) all unavailable Wednesday. If cleared, it's unclear if Hawkins would start or come off the bench.
Oct 27, 2024
Leads reserves in scoring Sunday
Hawkins supplied 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds and three assists over 34 minutes during Sunday's 125-103 loss to Portland.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins has given the Pelicans an offense spark off the bench, and he ended Sunday's game as the team's second-leading scorer behind CJ McCollum (27). Hawkins has gone 9-for-17 from beyond the arc over the first three games of the regular season, and over that span he's averaging 18.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists over 30.3 minutes per game.
Oct 26, 2024
Leading scorer in Friday's win
Hawkins provided 24 points (8-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and five rebounds in 29 minutes off the bench during Friday's 105-103 victory over Portland.
ANALYSIS
While the second-year guard was part of the second unit, Hawkins wound up leading the Pelicans in scoring in an impressive shooting effort. The UConn product also had a hot start to his rookie campaign before cooling down, but with Dejounte Murray (hand) out of action until at least late November, there's an opening for Hawkins to have an elevated role in the New Orleans backcourt for the first month-plus of 2024-25.
Oct 16, 2024
Shines in preseason finale
Hawkins finished with 20 points (6-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT) and two rebounds across 18 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's 118-98 preseason loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins made his presence felt in the final game of the preseason, and the second-year guard showed throughout the preseason that he could contribute off the bench with the Pelicans, particularly as a scoring weapon in the second unit. He made 67 regular-season appearances, including 10 starts, as a rookie in 2023-24 and averaged 7.8 points per game, so he could find himself on the bench when the Pelicans open their 2024-25 regular season against the Bulls on Oct. 23.
Oct 13, 2024
Scores 11 in preseason loss Sunday
Hawkins recorded 11 points (4-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and three rebounds across 17 minutes in Sunday's 101-99 preseason loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins was the fifth member of the Pelicans to record double-digit points alongside Zion Williamson (13), Malcolm Hill (12), Dejounte Murray (11) and CJ McCollum (10). Hawkins is coming off a solid rookie season, during which he averaged 7.8 points and 2.2 rebounds across 17.3 minutes per game in 67 regular-season outings. The 22-year-old could see significant minutes off the bench this season, especially if Trey Murphy (hamstring) is out for an extended period of time.
Oct 4, 2024
Team option picked up
The Pelicans announced Friday that they have exercised the third-year option for 2025-26 on Hawkin's contract, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins slowed down toward the end of his rookie year but still averaged 7.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 17.3 minutes across 67 regular-season appearances, including 10 starts, in 2023-24. However, Hawkins could see a slight reduction in his role this season due to the addition of Dejounte Murray.
Sep 30, 2024
Good to go for camp
Pelicans vice president of basketball operations said Monday that Hawkins (ankle) is cleared for training camp this week, Erin Summers of Bally Sports New Orleans reports.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins picked up a right ankle injury during the final game of the Summer League, but X-rays were negative. That was back in July, however, so Hawkins being 100 percent ready for camp isn't a huge surprise. Hawkins showed some promise as a rookie, posting averages of 7.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.6 three-pointers in 67 regular-season games.
Jul 20, 2024
Won't return Saturday
Hawkins has been ruled out for the remainder of Saturday's Summer League game against the Nuggets due to a right ankle injury.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins underwent X-rays after sustaining the injury, which came back negative. Still, the Pelicans will refrain from putting the 22-year-old back into its final Summer League contest. Hawkins will finish the game with three points (0-3 FG, 3-4 FT) and a block across 11 minutes. It's unclear if the injury will impact Hawkins' availability for training camp.
Apr 2, 2024
Unproductive night in loss
Hawkins finished with three points (1-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt) and one rebound over 15 minutes during Monday's 124-111 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Since the All-Star break, the 21-year-old has averaged 3.7 points and 1.1 rebounds on 28.2 percent from the field. This is a serious decline from before the break, when Hawkins averaged 9.6 points and 2.7 rebounds in 20.1 minutes, nearly doubling his recent playing time. The Pelicans are fighting to stay out of the Play-In Tournament and with Jose Alvarado (oblique) anticipated to return soon, Hawkins is not expected to be a viable fantasy option nearing the end of the season.
Mar 13, 2024
Recalled from G League
The Pelicans recalled Hawkins from the G League's Birmingham Squadron on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The Pelicans wanted Hawkins to get some reps with Birmingham to stay sharp, as he's had a limited role at the NBA level in his last several outings.
Feb 24, 2024
Wakes up with 14 points
Hawkins supplied 14 points (4-17 FG, 3-12 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one block in 23 minutes during Friday's 106-95 loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
After distinguishing himself as a valuable backup during CJ McCollum's absence earlier in the season, Hawkins fell off the map as a fantasy prospect. Hawkins' 14 points marked his first double-digit total in almost seven weeks, during a stretch where he struggled to see more then 10 minutes on the floor. Unless a serious backcourt injury occurs, a resurgence for Hawkins is unlikely.
Jan 28, 2024
Can't find it Saturday
Hawkins contributed eight points (2-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and one assist in 29 minutes during Saturday's 141-117 loss to Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins streak of games with multiple made threes extends to five following Saturday's loss. While he wasn't at his sharpest, Hawkins has still rained in 52.0 percent of 5.6 threes per game across his last nine contests, amounting to 2.9 made threes per night. Hawkins earning 29 minutes for a healthy Pelicans' rotation Saturday bodes well for his rest-of-season outlook.
Jan 18, 2024
Thrives off bench Wednesday
Hawkins totaled 21 points (7-12 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one steal across 24 minutes during Wednesday's 132-112 win over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins drained six threes despite coming off the bench and reached the 20-point mark for the fifth time this season, which is impressive for a rookie who doesn't start regularly. Hawkins has improved regularly with each passing month and is going through his best stretch of the campaign of late, scoring in double digits in six of his nine appearances in January.
Jan 15, 2024
Back to bench
Hawkins will return to the bench for Monday's game versus Dallas.
ANALYSIS
This is an expected move with the Pelicans getting CJ McCollum, Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson and Trey Murphy back in action after they were rested Saturday against the Mavericks. Hawkins filled in admirably Saturday, logging 34 points (11-19 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 6-8 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals across 37 minutes.
Jan 14, 2024
Stars for New Orleans
Hawkins produced 34 points (11-19 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 6-8 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals in 37 minutes during Saturday's 118-108 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
It was all-you-can-eat for Hawkins with CJ McCollum (ankle), Brandon Ingram (Achilles), Trey Murphy (knee) and Zion Williamson (rest) inactive, and Hawkins ate. The rookie has showcased booming scoring ability before, hitting the 25-point threshold thrice prior, but the latest of which had come Nov. 25 against Utah. Hawkins is showing excellent poise and two-way effort despite being a liability at his size. He could force the Pelicans' hand in earning a larger role, although it's a crowded backcourt with Dyson Daniels and Jose Alvarado also competing for minutes when New Orleans is healthy.
Jan 13, 2024
Moves into starting lineup
Hawkins will start Saturday's game against Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Brandon Ingram (Achilles), Zion Williamson (rest), CJ McCollum (ankle) and Trey Murphy (knee) are all taking the night off for the second leg of this back-to-back set. Hawkins will likely see heavy minutes and usage as a result. In five starts this season, Hawkins holds averages of 15.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 3.0 three-pointers.
Jan 13, 2024
Logs two minutes Friday
Hawkins provided no counting stats across two minutes during Friday's 125-113 loss to Denver.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins made an appearance in garbage time, the fewest he has played this calendar year. After a strong start to his rookie campaign, Hawkins has settled into a bench role, playing sporadic minutes when required. Comfortably outside the top 250 for the season, Hawkins should be viewed as a points and threes streamer, if and when his role escalates.
Jan 6, 2024
Scores 13 in garbage time
Hawkins accumulated 13 points (4-7 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and one rebound in six minutes during Friday's 111-95 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins saw all of his playing time in the fourth quarter with the Pelicans down by 24 points. He ended up leading the bench in scoring and finished tied for the leading scorer with Jonas Valanciunas. He won't get many minutes while Brandom Ingram and Trey Murphy are playing, but Hawkins' brief outing Friday is a good sign for the 2023 first-round pick out of Connecticut.
Dec 31, 2023
Carves up G League, returns to NBA
Hawkins was recalled to the Pelicans on Sunday morning
ANALYSIS
In his lone G League appearance with Birmingham on Friday, Hawkins boomed for 32 points (10-25 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and one block in 37 minutes against the Indiana Mad Ants. Hawkins has averaged 10.7 points across 27 appearances for New Orleans this season, so he doesn't have much to prove at the G League level, although it's a conducive environment for bombing away and acclimating to being a defensive focal point at the next level.
Dec 22, 2023
Scores six in win
Hawkins accumulated six points (2-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt) and two assists in 12 minutes during Thursday's 123-104 victory over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins' playing time has fluctuated in recent matchups, but he saw double-digit minutes off the bench Thursday and drilled a pair of three-pointers. He's had limited production over his last six appearances, averaging 3.2 points in 10.0 minutes per game.
Nov 28, 2023
Posts 13 points from bench
Hawkins totaled 13 points (5-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt) and five rebounds in 25 minutes during Monday's 114-112 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins went back to the bench to make room for Zion Williamson, but with Hawkins putting up 25 points in Saturday's start, the team may be missing out on a valuable opportunity. Dyson Daniels isn't getting it done at the point, and although the UConn product played off-guard in college, the team would do well to give the first-round pick a crack at point guard before CJ McCollum (chest) returns. An eventual lineup of McCollum, Hawkins, Ingram and Williamson could be the future setup, so consider stashing Hawkins on your bench if he's available.
Nov 27, 2023
Not starting Monday
Hawkins is not in the starting lineup to face the Jazz on Monday, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nothing surprising here, as Hawkins will move back to the bench so Zion Williamson can start at his regular power forward spot. Hawkins is averaging 11.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game off the bench this season.
Nov 26, 2023
Goes off for 25 points Saturday
Hawkins chipped in 25 points (8-17 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one steal across 40 minutes during Saturday's 105-100 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins moved into the starting lineup after Zion Williamson was given the night off for rest purposes. The move obviously did wonders for his confidence, as he scored 25 points, the most he has delivered in almost two weeks. Although his contributions have scaled back a little, he remains a must-roster player in most formats as long as points and threes are high on your list of priorities.
Nov 25, 2023
Gets starting nod
Hawkins will enter the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Zion Williamson is getting a night off for rest on the second leg of the back-to-back set. In eight starts this season, Hawkins has averaged 14.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.8 three-pointers.
Nov 20, 2023
Back in bench role
Hawkins isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will retreat to the bench with Zion Williamson returning to the starting five. Hawkins has logged 33 and 26 minutes in his last two contests as a reserve, so he could be in store for a significant workload, especially with CJ McCollum (chest) remaining sidelined.
Nov 18, 2023
Starting on Saturday
Hawkins will move into the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Minnesota, Alan Horton of the Timberwolves Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
With Zion Williamson resting, Hawkins will rejoin the starters after coming off the bench for New Orleans' two prior contests. Hawkins has averaged 14.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 34.1 minutes per game across seven starts this season.
Nov 15, 2023
Excels off bench
Hawkins notched 25 points (8-17 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes during Tuesday's 131-110 victory over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins moved back to a bench role with Herbert Jones (leg) returning to action, but the former still played a prominent role and tied Brandon Ingram with a game-high 25 points. Hawkins has connected on multiple three-pointers in six straight contests, averaging 18.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.8 made threes per game during that stretch. As long as CJ McCollum (chest), Trey Murphy (knee) and Jose Alvarado (ankle) remain out, Hawkins should have a clear path to 25-plus minutes a night, even if it's as a reserve.
Nov 14, 2023
Heads to bench
Hawkins isn't in the starting five for Tuesday's game versus the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
The return of Herbert Jones from a leg injury will send Hawkins back to the bench after starting in New Orleans' previous four contests. However, with CJ McCollum (lungs) still out, Hawkins should continue to see extended playing time off the bench.
Nov 7, 2023
Brilliant as McCollum's fill-in
Hawkins totaled 31 points (10-19 FG, 7-14 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and one steal in 38 minutes during Monday's 134-116 loss to Denver.
ANALYSIS
There were several potential suitors for CJ McCollum's (lung) production, but Hawkins drew the start and made the most of his opportunity. His team-high scoring total makes him an excellent streaming option, and he could be even more valuable if McCollum's timetable is similar to his previous lung injury, which kept him out of action for six weeks.
Nov 6, 2023
Enters starting lineup
Hawkins is starting Monday's game against the Nuggets, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins will draw the start at shooting guard as the Pelicans roll out a larger-than-usual starting lineup due to CJ McCollum's (chest) absence. Hawkins has scored in double digits in two of his three starts so far this year, averaging 10.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals in 33.7 minutes.
Nov 4, 2023
Strong output off bench
Hawkins supplied 15 points (5-11 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds and one steal over 24 minutes during Saturday's 123-105 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins moved back to the bench with the return of Brandon Ingram, and that should conspire against his fantasy upside in a big way. That said, Hawkins might still carve a role as a second-unit scorer for the Pelicans, and if he's able to show consistency as such, he might be valuable in some formats, particularly the deeper ones, or he could end up being a valuable streaming option in category-based leagues.
Nov 1, 2023
Poor shooting in win
Hawkins recorded 10 points (4-19 FG, 2-13 3Pt), six rebounds, five assists and two steals over 37 minutes during Wednesday's 110-106 victory over Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins was in the starting lineup for the second game in a row with Brandon Ingram (knee) ruled out for the contest. Hawkins managed to score in double-digits for the second game in a row, however, he did so shooting just 21.1 percent from the floor and missed 11 of his 13 shots from beyond the arc. He did post the best points differential on the team with plus-17.

The UConn product flashed the long-range shooting that made the Pelicans select him with the 14th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. ANALYSIS
Hawkins, who is known for his perimeter shooting, is shooting just 25 percent from three through two Summer League games. It could be difficult for Hawkins to crack the Pelicans' rotation come the regular season, however, with the amount of talent they have on the wing.

Scores 16 points
Hawkins finished with 16 points (6-14 FG, 3-10 3PT, 1-6 FT), five assists, two rebounds and two steals in 29 minutes of Friday's 102-88 Summer League loss to Minnesota.

The Pelicans were outplayed for most of the game, but Hawkins and Dyson Daniels both had promising moments. The 14th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Hawkins is known for his shooting and will have the green light from deep as evidenced by his 10 attempts. Unfortunately, minutes won't be easy to come by on the wings in New Orleans this season with guys like Brandon Ingram, Herb Jones and Trey Murphy around.
