The return of Bradley Beal is likely to impact what Nurkic can do in terms of scoring the basketball. However, he should remain a top 70 player moving forward, a nice return on investment for anyone who managed to grab him in the later rounds of drafts.

Nurkic will usually succeed when the backcourt can get him the ball inside, and Jordan Goodwin helped that effort with nine assists after Bradley Beal (ankle) exited the game.

The big man finished third on the Suns in scoring and pulled a team-high 22 boards, outrebounding the rest of the team's starting lineup combined. It was the first time this season that Nurkic has grabbed 20 or more boards, and his total tally of 22 rebounds was one shy of his career-best mark set on New Year's Day in 2019 against Sacramento while a member of the Trail Blazers.

Nurkic produced 17 points (3-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 10-11 FT), 13 rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 31 minutes during Tuesday's 119-116 win over the Warriors.

Although Nurkic appeared to sustain an injury in the third quarter, he quickly returned to action and showed no ill effects. Nurkic's play has definitely helped the Suns amid Kevin Durant's (ankle) absence, with an average of 16 points and 11 rebounds over the past two games.

Nurkic closed with 15 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-4 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one steal in 30 minutes during Friday's 114-106 loss to the Kings.

Nurkic did take a shot to the face which prompted a quick concussion check in the locker room, but he returned a few minutes later and seemed fine. Nurkic had more on his plate offensively Friday with Kevin Durant (ankle) sitting out, and his fantasy managers will be glad to see that he bounced back after he was held to three points in 29 minutes Tuesday against the Lakers.

Nurkic accumulated 14 points (6-18 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals in 26 minutes before fouling out of Saturday's 116-109 win over Memphis.

Nurkic ended just one rebound away from a double-double in this one, and that certainly salvaged his fantasy outing in a game where his shot just wasn't falling. Nurkic has done a good job of embracing a bigger role on offense whenever Bradley Beal (back), Eric Gordon (knee) or Devin Booker have missed time, and he's enjoying a solid campaign so far. He's scored in double digits in six of his last nine contests.

In 2018-19, Nurkic averaged 15.6 points per game in a full season with Portland. He's capable of that upside again, but if he continues to put up gaudy numbers in the absence of Damian Lillard (abdomen) -- shareholder should be aware of the window.

Saturday's effort was precisely the kind of production the Trail Blazers need from Nurkic, and their fortunes would be significantly increased if he can keep the stellar output going. Portland's backcourt is historically the star of the show, but the loss of Damian Lillard (abdomen) is forcing a need for aggressive interior play to stay competitive. Nurkic has the upside to be a premier big man in the Western Conference, but he needs to increase his shot volume and fine-tune his free-throw shooting.

Shareholders looking for Nurkic to see an uptick in production sans Damian Lillard (abdomen), CJ McCollum (personal) and Anfernee Simons (personal) were disappointed. Attempting only nine shots is certainly underwhelming, but he salvaged the night with a versatile stat line. He's been a fringe top-10 fantasy asset at the center position.

Nurkic accumulated 21 points (8-18 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-7 FT), 12 rebounds, five assists and one steal over 26 minutes during Monday's 136-131 win over the Hawks.

Nurkic sat out each of Portland's previous three games while in league health and safety protocols, but he showed little rust in racking up his 13th double-double of the campaign in the victory. The big center also notched his fifth contest with 20-plus points and fell one dime shy of his season-best assist mark. Nurkic is averaging 13.5 points, 10.0 boards and 2.5 assists on the campaign.

Nurkic is starting Monday's game against Atlanta.

Nurkic was away from the team over Portland's last three contests while in COVID protocols, but he's since been cleared. His return bumps Tony Snell out of the starting lineup.

Nurkic missed three games while in COVID protocols but is expected to return Monday. Night-to-night, Nurkic can be a frustrating fantasy asset who's prone to inconsistency, but over his last 13 games he's averaging 16.4 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. The lack of defensive production during that span (1.3 combined steals + blocks per game) is a disappointment, however.

Nurkic is averaging a double-double (12.4 points, 10.6 boards) on the campaign, though he is also posting less than one block per contest for the first time in his career.

Nurkic's fantasy value will increase considerably if he's able to maintain the recent scoring surge, as he's also one of the league's top-10 rebounders, averaging 10.9 boards per contest.

Nurkic was electric from the get-go Wednesday, racking up a double-double within the first 10 minutes of the contest. He set a season high in scoring and matched his campaign-best mark with 17 boards. The big man isn't a prolific scorer -- coming into Wednesday, he hadn't reached the 20-point mark since the season opener -- but he is on pace to average a double-double while shooting over 50 percent from the field, making him a quality option at center in most fantasy formats.

Nurkic's primary strength is rebounding -- he ranks seventh in the league with 11.2 boards per contest -- but with per-game averages of 11.1 points and 1.4 steals along with a 57.5 percent field-goal rate, he has done enough to post top-60 value in nine-category fantasy leagues.

He easily surpassed that mark against Chicago, notching his second-highest scoring total of the campaign and pulling down 12 boards to collect his sixth double-double. Nurkic has been better as a rebounder than as a scorer this season, but his 11.1 points and 11.2 rebounds overall make him worthy of a roster spot in nearly all fantasy formats.

The big man didn't block any shots for the third time in four games, but he otherwise stuffed the stat sheet. The veteran center ranks fourth in the NBA with 12.0 boards per contest.

Nurkic totaled 15 points (6-6 FG, 3-5 FT), 17 rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot over 22 minutes in a 105-90 victory versus the Lakers on Saturday.

Nurkic played only 22 minutes and put up only six shots, but he made the most of his time on the court, converting all six of his field-goal attempts while tying his season high with 17 boards. The big man has notched four double-doubles this season and is averaging 11.5 points, 11.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals through 10 games.

Nurkic finished with six points (3-7 FG, 0-1 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and a steal over 28 minutes in a 107-104 loss to the Cavaliers on Wednesday night.

Nurkic has failed to exceed 29 minutes in any game this season, which is certainly a factor that caps his fantasy ceiling. That withstanding, the 8.4 field-goals attempted per game is the lowest figure of his six seasons in Portland. On another note, he has been the Trail Blazers' best defensive asset, keeping his role secure.

Nurkic finished Sunday's loss to Charlotte with 13 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 14 rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block.

While the big man's minutes remain fairly limited to begin the season, he's starting to hit his stride over the last few games. Nurkic went for 17 points, eight boards and three steals against Memphis on Wednesday before following up with 14 points, 17 rebounds, three assists and two steals in Friday's win over the Clippers. Nurkic is a bit of a liability in terms of turnovers, but fantasy managers can live with that if he's providing nightly double-doubles and defensive stats.

Nurkic ended with 14 points (6-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 17 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in 23 minutes during Friday's 111-92 victory over the Clippers.

Nurkic needed just 23 minutes to turn in one of his best performances of the season to date. While his production has been more than adequate, it is the fact he is healthy that has fantasy managers thrilled. As long as this holds true, Nurkic should be able to smash through his ADP come February.

Nurkic finished Wednesday's loss to Sacramento with 20 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 7-7 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot over 29 minutes.

The big man was a beast on the boards in the contest, leading all players with 14 rebounds. He also posted an efficient night from the field and from the charity stripe, though his efforts weren't enough to prevent Portland from taking a loss in the season opener. After a pair of injury-plagued seasons, Nurkic could provide plenty of value for fantasy managers who invested in him on draft day if he's able to stay healthy throughout the campaign.

The 26-year-old bounced back from Monday's seven-point effort to post 13 points on 50 percent field-goal shooting. Nurkic has been solid on the boards so far this series, averaging 12.7 rebounds over his at three games. The Blazers will need the seventh-year center to keep up his impressive rebounding pace if they want to even the series in Game 4 on Saturday.

Rudy Gobert is probably the only big man who can draw a foul better than Nikola Jokic. Although Nurkic outrebounded the MVP favorite, Jokic got the best of him whenever he got too aggressive under the basket. Nurkic doesn't need to do the impossible against Jokic, but even a modest reduction in Jokic's production could be a difference-maker in the series.

Nurkic fared well against the Nuggets on Saturday, despite the fact he was tasked with defending Nikola Jokic. Enes Kanter played just 15 minutes in the victory, as Nurkic continues to look more and more like the player we expected to see this season. Based on what we saw in Game 1, Jokic is going to be the primary option on offense for the Nuggets and so Nurkic is going to need to be at his best if the Trail Blazers are to advance.

Nurkic registered 20 points (8-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-6 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 20 minutes during Sunday's 132-116 win over the Nuggets.

The 26-year-old ended his regular season on a high note after totaling just 18 points over his previous two games, scoring 20 points in just 20 minutes. The Blazers won 10 of their last 12 games thanks in large part due to Nurkic's stellar play as he averaged 14.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 steals while shooting 54.8 percent from the field in that span. The seventh-year center will hope to carry his late-season success into the NBA playoffs for the sixth-seeded Blazers.

Nurkic managed 11 points (3-14 FG, 5-8 FT), 15 rebounds, six assists, three steals and three blocks during Wednesday's 105-98 win over Utah.

Despite a sluggish offensive performance to say the least, Nurkic picked up the slack off the glass to lead the Blazers in rebounding. It was his third game over the past five with at least 11 rebounds. Across his past five outings, Nurkic is averaging a double-double of 15.0 points and 10.8 rebounds.

Nurkic provided 22 points (10-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, five assists, three steals and a blocked shot across 29 minutes in Monday's 140-129 win over the Rockets.

It's hard to knock Nurkic's string of performances, but it would help the Trail Blazers immensely if he could show a bit more hustle. Since his return, his innate talents have yielded some standout totals, but he seems to have lost a step and finds himself boxed out more often. The result is more variance in his rebound totals, especially on the defensive end. If he can return to his pre-injury totals on a more consistent basis, Portland will look like a more complete team as they compete in the playoffs.

Nurkic finished Friday's 106-101 victory over the Lakers with 10 points (5-8 FG), 13 rebounds, five assists and one steal across 31 minutes.

Nurkic mostly left the scoring to star teammates Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, but he still made a big impact with 13 boards and five dimes. The center's ability to contribute across multiple categories is a big part of his appeal both for Portland and for fantasy managers who roster him. On the season, Nurkic is averaging 10.8 points, 8.8 boards, 3.3 dimes and 1.0 blocks while shooting 50.9 percent from the field.

Nurkic had 15 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and four blocks in Wednesday's win over the Cavs.

The game got out of hand in the third quarter, so the Blazers were able to pull back on their starters' minutes for much of the second half. Nurkic still found time to rack up his sixth double-double in the last eight games while position this highest blocks total of the season.

Nurkic was the only starter who didn't play at least 30 minutes Sunday, but he still led the Trail Blazers on the boards and recorded his fifth double-double in his last six games. The 26-year-old has averaged 17.5 points and 12.8 rebounds in 25.7 minutes per game across the last six contests.

Nurkic mustered 23 points (9-12 FG, 5-7 FT), 11 rebounds and an assist across 26 minutes in Friday's win over the Nets.

Nurkic had a strong double-double in this win and was also extremely effective, as he missed just three shots from the field. This was his fifth straight games scoring in double digits and the fourth time he reached the 15-point plateau in that span, while also putting up four double-doubles in that stretch. Undoubtedly, he's getting hot at the right time.

While it's certainly encouraging to see Nurkic putting up the kind of numbers he's proven capable of providing in the past, it may be too little too late for fantasy managers who invested in the big man during draft season.

Expect Nurkic to eventually settle into the 25-to-30-minute range most nights, making him the preferred center to roster in fantasy leagues over Kanter, who should become more of a fringy option in 12-to-14-team leagues.

The effort marked Nurkic's first double-digit scoring effort in four outings although it helped that he played more minutes in this one than in all but one other game this season. His numbers are down so far compared to his projections as well as his career norms so far this year, and he'll next have a chance to rectify that Thursday against Minnesota.

Nurkic notched eight points (3-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-4 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal over 18 minutes in Friday's 123-98 win over the Warriors.

Nurkic's production was limited during Wednesday's blowout loss, and his output was capped once again as the Trail Blazers had little trouble taking care of Golden State. The 26-year-old has cooled off over the last two games that weren't especially competitive, but he'll attempt to return to form Sunday against the Warriors.

Friday's contest against Golden State oozes bounce-back potential for the Blazers, as the Warriors have the worst net rating (-12.4) in the NBA.

Nurkic took a backseat in the scoring department, but he rounded out a versatile effort with 11 boards and six dimes. The poor free-throw shooting hampered an otherwise strong effort, but Nurkic has improved in that department in recent seasons and shouldn't be a category-killer from the stripe for fantasy purposes.

His ADP is increasing and if you are keen to add him to your playing roster, you are going to have to be willing to part with a third-round draft pick at the very least.

Nurkic was one of the main reasons why the Blazers pulled the upset in Game 1 thanks to a 16-point, 15-rebound performance, but he wasn't able to repeat those numbers here. Nurkic also saw a streak of three straight double-doubles come to an end, but he should remain an important cog in the Blazers' offense ahead of Saturday's Game 3, especially if Damian Lillard (finger) is not at full strength.

Although the Blazers were able to limp into contention behind Hassan Whiteside, Nurkic is an almost universal size mismatch, and he gives the Trail Blazers an imposing interior presence that they lost when Nurkic broke his leg. Behind his stellar play, Portland has a fighting chance to move on against a Laker squad that's struggling to find its footing.

He had made just five three-pointers in his career prior to this one, so the fact that he's apparently adding that to his game makes him that much more valuable for fantasy purposes. Nurkic will look to keep it rolling during Tuesday's matchup versus the Lakers.

Nurkic totaled 22 points (11-17 FG, 0-1 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and a steal across 32 minutes in Thursday's 134-133 win over the Nets.

Nurkic's potential impact in the bubble was unclear after missing several months with a broken leg, be crushed expectations in the bubble. He's averaged 17.6 points, 10.3 rebounds and four assists in Orlando.

Nurkic posted 10 points (3-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 13 rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 33 minutes during Saturday's 122-117 loss to the Clippers.

Nurkic's passing helped make up for his lack of scoring Saturday. His nine dimes were one short of tying his career-high, which was set last season. Even with that being the case, Saturday's effort was Nurkic's worst of the bubble. He came into the game averaging 22.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 3.0 blocks and 1.5 steals.

Nurkic registered 22 points (9-20 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal in 35 minutes during Thursday's win over the Nuggets.

Nurkic was one of Portland's best players in this game, but he will be remembered for putting Bol Bol in a poster with a thunderous dunk in the second quarter. The Bosnian big man has thrived since the restart of the league, scoring at least 18 points in each of his four games while averaging 11.0 boards per contest in that stretch.

Nurkic continued his exceptional play since both his and the NBA's return, notching his third-straight game of at least 18 points. His 19 boards on the evening led the game and accounted for just under half of what the entire opposing team totaled. The 25-year-old will need to keep it up as Portland pursues a playoff spot.

Despite missing nearly a calendar year and a half with a leg injury, Nurkic has come back firing on all cylinders. While unreasonable to expect the 25-year-old to sustain this scoring pace going forward, he ought to continue to contribute across the board statistically. His next chance comes Tuesday against Houston.

He dominated the paint defensively, made every one of his free-throw attempts, and showcased his elite passing ability (for his position). With each game being extremely important for the Trail Blazers as they chase a playoff spot, Nurkic seems like a very strong option for fantasy purposes.

He's looked good in the scrimmages, and he's taken back his starting spot from Hassan Whiteside. In Nurkic's 72 appearances in 2018-19, he averaged 15.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.0 steals in 27.4 minutes.

Nurkic registered five points (2-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block in 16 minutes during Tuesday's 131-120 scrimmage loss to the Thunder.

Nurkic was coming off back-to-back double-digit scoring performances in the first two scrimmages, but he only logged 16 minutes in this game -- perhaps as the Blazers didn't want to take any risks with their star center. Regardless if he starts or not once the regular season resumes, Nurkic will definitively log decent minutes for the Blazers down the stretch.

Nurkic went for 17 points (4-13 FG, 1-5 3PT, 8-10 FT), 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks in Sunday's scrimmage against the Raptors.

In his second scrimmage, Nurkic saw 27 minutes of action as a part of a starting lineup that also included Hassan Whiteside. Nurkic struggled from the floor, but it was partially due to a rough night from beyond the arc. The Blazers hit just seven of 28 attempts from three as a team.

Nurkic went for 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-2 FT) and eight rebounds in Thursday's scrimmage against the Pacers.

In his first true game action since March of 2019, Nurkic looked like his old self, coming out aggressively and taking 10 shots in just 20 minutes of action. The big man hit six of those field goals and added one steal, one block and one assist to his team-high eight rebounds. It remains to be seen how the Blazers will split minutes at center, as Hassan Whiteside (Achilles) did not play Thursday.

Nurkic (leg) has officially been cleared to participate when the NBA season resumes in Orlando, Sean Highkin of Bleacher Report reports.

As expected, the layoff played to the favor of Nurkic, who missed all of the start to the regular season while recovering from a fractured leg. On a conference call Wednesday, coach Terry Stotts confirmed that both Nurkic and Zach Collins (shoulder) "look great", and he noted that Nurkic likely would have been cleared to return sometime in March or April. Nurkic was on the verge of practicing with the G League squad when the season was suspended. Once things pick up in Orlando, Nurkic will presumably take on a significant role with the team, though it's unclear how his minutes will be balanced with Hassan Whiteside's.

Nurkic (leg) will practice in the G League this week before his expected return on Sunday against Houston, Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports Northwest reports.

The Blazers don't have their own G League affiliate, so Nurkic will practice with the Santa Cruz Warriors a few times this week in an effort to help him move toward game shape. All indications are that Nurkic will debut on Sunday, but he'll likely face a minutes restriction and could be eased back into action -- especially given how well -- all things considered -- Hassan Whiteside has played for the Blazers this season.

Nurkic (lower leg) will make his season debut Mar. 15 against the Rockets, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports. "I'm ready to help my team make the playoffs," Nurkic told Yahoo Sports. "It's time."

Nurkic has been on the shelf for nearly a year following a severe lower leg injury. He returned to practice in late January and has been steadily progressing since then. Last season, Nurkic was a huge part of Portland's success, as he averaged career highs in points (15.6), rebounds (10.4) and field-goal percentage (50.8), not to mention 3.2 dimes, 1.4 blocks and 1.0 steal. He'll presumably see limited minutes for his first few games while he gets back into the flow of real game action. Presumably, Nurkic will come off the bench behind Hassan Whiteside, who is having a bounceback 2019-20 campaign.

Nurkic (lower leg/calf) is listed as out for Saturday's game against the Hawks.

Nurkic initially looked on track to make his season debut at some point shortly following the All-Star break when he was cleared for full practices in late January, but his progress has since been stalled after he strained his right calf in one of his workouts. While the injury is to the opposite leg in which he sustained compound fractures last March, the calf issue is significant enough to keep him off the court. With no reports indicating that Nurkic practiced at any point in February, he looks to be multiple weeks away from playing in games. Considering the 26-34 Blazers are three games off the pace for the eighth seed in the Western Conference, there's a real possibility the organization errs on the side of caution and shuts Nurkic down for the season if Portland falls out of the playoff picture.

Nurkic (leg/calf) remains without a firm return timetable, Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports Northwest reports.

Prior to Sunday's game against the Heat, coach Terry Stotts was asked about Nurkic's status as the big man works back from a fractured left leg and a subsequent calf strain. "There's no timeline on Nurk when he's gonna come back," Stotts said. "He had a little set back. He had a mild strain in his right calf. So, the last week or 10 days, he really hasn't been able to do much, so that's kind of set back any kind of comeback." Nurkic will continue to rehab through the All-Star break, with the hope that he'll be able to return to practice sometime in the next few weeks. If that happens, Nurkic could conceivably make his season debut sometime in late-February or March.

Nurkic (lower leg) suffered a calf strain "in the moments after his return to the full-court practice and contact practice," Jason Quick of The Athletic reports.

Quick also noted that he "[doesn't] know how serious it is" and that the Trail Blazers have been "tight-lipped" about the situation. Nurkic was on track to return likely sometime this month, but now it's unclear if that will be the case. More information may emerge in the coming days.

The Trail Blazers have identified no clear target date for Nurkic's (lower leg) season debut, though the big man has been ruled out for at least another week, Jason Quick of The Athletic reports.

Nurkic seemed to tease an impending return after practicing fully last week, and while the activity certainly marked a notable step forward in his rehab, the development seemingly hasn't changed the Trail Blazers' approach with the center, who is 10 months removed from surgery to address compound fractures of the tibia and fibula in his left leg. At this stage, Portland simply wants to see how Nurkic's body responds to increasing his workload over a series of practices before sussing out a date for his 2019-20 debut. Once he's back in action, Nurkic will most likely be subjected to strict minutes limits and could be withheld from one half of back-to-back sets.

This is another step in the right direction for Nurkic, who is working his way back from surgery he underwent last March to address compound fractures in his lower left leg. While he remains without a concrete timetable for his return, all signs are still pointing toward a February return for the big man.

This is a significant step in Nurkic's recovery, though we don't know the full extent of his participation. More information on his timetable should continue to trickle in as he hits various other milestones in his recovery.
