Jusuf Nurkic Injury News & Updates
Keep up with the latest injuries from the Jazz vs Grizzlies game on Friday with our National Basketball Association injury report.Dec 5, 2025
Available Friday
Nurkic (ribs) is available for Friday's game against the Knicks, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing Thursday's win over Brooklyn due to a right rib contusion, Nurkic will return for the second leg of the team's back-to-back. With the veteran big man back in action, Kyle Filipowski will likely retreat to the bench. Over his last five appearances, Nurkic has averaged 12.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 24.8 minutes per game.
Dec 5, 2025
Iffy for Friday
Nurkic (ribs) is questionable for Friday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic missed the front end of this back-to-back set due to a rib contusion, allowing Kyle Filipowski to draw a start. The same situation could unfold Friday, as it's unclear how severe Nurkic's injury is. Thursday's absence was the first of the season for Nurkic.
Dec 4, 2025
Ruled out Thursday
Nurkic (ribs) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Utah will hold Nurkic out of the front end of a back-to-back set after he picked up a rib contusion. Kyle Filipowski should be the main beneficiary, while Taylor Hendricks and Kyle Anderson are also candidates for increased minutes given Nurkic's absence.
Dec 3, 2025
Questionable for Thursday
Nurkic is questionable for Thursday's game in Brooklyn due to a right rib contusion.
ANALYSIS
Thursday's game will be the first of a back-to-back, so there's certainly a chance Nurkic will skip that one. If he does need a day off, there will be more minutes available for Taylor Hendricks, Kyle Filipowski and Kyle Anderson.
Dec 2, 2025
Nearly double-doubles
Nurkic notched 18 points (8-15 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-6 FT), nine rebounds and two assists over 24 minutes before fouling out of Monday's 133-125 victory over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic continues to put up solid fantasy numbers as Utah's starting center. It's no secret that the Jazz are in the early stages of a rebuild, so it will be interesting to see if they entertain trade offers for the veteran ahead of the deadline. Through 20 regular-season games, Nurkic holds averages of 8.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.6 steals.
Nov 29, 2025
Hands out nine dimes in win
Nurkic amassed nine points (4-8 FG, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, nine assists and three steals over 27 minutes during Friday's 128-119 win over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
While Nurkic has been doing a decent job operating as a playmaker and glass eater in Utah this season, he's also been struggling to impact other areas of the stat sheet, and he's been averaging a career-low 0.4 blocks per game. He's also committing a career-high 2.8 turnovers a night, to go with a career-worst free-throw percentage of 57.5 percent. Nurkic isn't worth the headache in standard fantasy leagues.
Nov 24, 2025
Double-double in Sunday's loss
Nurkic supplied 11 points (5-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 0-3 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals across 30 minutes during Sunday's 108-106 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
The veteran center continues to clean the glass effectively for the jazz, pulling down double-digit boards in seven straight games, although Sunday's double-double was only his fifth of the season. Since Nurkic moved into the starting five in place of Walker Kessler (shoulder) at the beginning of November, he's averaging 7.4 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.9 steals in 28.0 minutes over 11 contests.
Nov 19, 2025
Churns out double-double in loss
Nurkic ended Tuesday's 140-126 loss to the Lakers with 10 points (4-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals across 29 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic did just enough to hit the milestone, recording his fourth double-double of the season. Jurkic's career is taking a positive turn after taking over the starting role in Utah, but it took a season-ending injury from Walker Kessler (shoulder) to give him that opportunity. Although his rebound numbers are solid, Nurkic has scored double-digit totals only five times this season, and it's an area where he could use some serious improvement.
Nov 14, 2025
Nearly triple-doubles in loss
Nurkic accumulated 10 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-3 FT), 10 rebounds, eight assists, one block and five steals in 28 minutes during Thursday's 132-122 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is suddenly running hot for the Jazz after a brutal start to the month. In his last two games, he's averaging 10.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 0.5 blocks and 2.5 steals in 29.5 minutes per contest. His percentages can be shaky and he's not the most consistent player, but at least for the time being, he belongs in most fantasy lineups.
Nov 5, 2025
Snags 17 rebounds in loss
Nurkic recorded six points (2-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 17 rebounds, four assists, one block and four steals across 33 minutes during Wednesday's 114-103 loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic entered the starting lineup for a third straight game Wednesday, and while he didn't have much of an impact offensively, he lived at the rim. He pulled down a season-high 17 rebounds, including three offensive boards. The 31-year-old also impressed by racking up a team high in steals. Nurkic should remain part of Utah's starting five for the foreseeable future after it was announced earlier Wednesday that Walker Kessler would require season-ending shoulder surgery.
Nov 5, 2025
Set for starting role
Nurkic is expected to occupy a starting role for the foreseeable future due to Walker Kessler's season-ending shoulder surgery.
ANALYSIS
With Kessler out the past two games awaiting a diagnosis, Nurkic drew starts and averaged 7.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals in 26.5 minutes. It seems like he'll see minutes in the high-20s to low-30s most nights, though it could be heavily dictated by gameflow. Blowout losses, like Sunday's 126-103 defeat at the hands of the Hornets, could lead to fewer minutes for Nurkic. In those cases, more run could be in store for Kyle Filipowski and Taylor Hendricks. It's possible the team also calls up two-way center Oscar Tshiebwe for some spot run. For his career, Nurkic is averaging 11.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.1 blocks and 0.9 steals in 24.3 minutes.
Nov 3, 2025
Double-double in start
Nurkic ended with 11 points (5-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists and one block in 31 minutes during Monday's 105-103 win over Boston.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic recorded his first double-double of the season, including the winning basket with just 0.6 seconds remaining. That makes two consecutive starts for Nurkic, sliding into the opening unit with Walker Kessler sidelined due to a shoulder concern. There is no clear timetable for Kessler at this point, making Nurkic a viable short-term addition.
Nov 2, 2025
Starting sans Kessler
Nurkic will start in Sunday's game against the Hornets, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
With Walker Kessler (shoulder) sidelined, Nurkic will get the starting nod against his former team. The veteran big man has received consistent playing time off the bench through five regular-season games, averaging 7.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals across 17.2 minutes per contest.
Oct 29, 2025
Available vs. Portland
Nurkic (hip) is available for Wednesday's game against Portland.
ANALYSIS
After being considered questionable, Nurkic will play through a hip contusion. The veteran big man has contingent fantasy upside if Walker Kessler were to go down with an injury, but Nurkic is likely to remain stuck in a reserve role for the time being.
Oct 28, 2025
Iffy for Wednesday
Nurkic (hip) is questionable to play in Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is coming off a solid performance in Monday's game against the Suns. He ripped down 13 rebounds while also adding seven points, two assists and two steals. If he can't play, the team will likely lean on Kevin Love and Taylor Hendricks behind Walker Kessler.
Oct 28, 2025
Pulls down 13 rebounds
Nurkic recorded seven points (3-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists and two steals across 18 minutes during Monday's 138-134 overtime win over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Walker Kessler is essentially locked in as the starter and is seeing 31.7 minutes per contest, leaving 17.6 minutes per game for Nurkic. He has made the most of his backup role, however, posting averages of 6.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.7 steals through three games.
Oct 25, 2025
Grabs 11 boards off the bench
Nurkic registered four points (2-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 11 rebounds, two assists and one steal over 18 minutes during Friday's 105-104 loss to the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Walker Kessler turned in an odd dud after a great first game, so the team decided to give Nurkic more time on the court. He responded with 11 rebounds in 18 minutes. The veteran is hunting to a place to revive his career, but only an injury will elevate him to a meaningful role. He's trapped behind Kessler and Kyle Filipowski, and is currently fending off Taylor Hendricks for the backup job under the basket.
Oct 16, 2025
Slated for reserve role Thursday
Nurkic isn't in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason game against Portland.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is fresh off an impressive double-double Monday against Dallas, so the fact that he's not listed in the starting five could be an indication he's getting the night off. Walker Kessler is drawing the start at center in Nurkic's place.
Oct 13, 2025
Double-doubles in defeat
Nurkic notched 13 points (4-7 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 15 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block across 24 minutes in Monday's 114-101 preseason loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic tied the team-high mark in three-pointers and was one of five Jazz players to score in double figures. The veteran big man also led all players in rebounds. After being traded from Charlotte to Utah in June, Nurkic is expected to back up Walker Kessler (shoulder) in the 2025-26 campaign.
Oct 9, 2025
Plays well in loss
Nurkic produced 12 points (5-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-3 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 25 minutes of Wednesday's 140-127 preseason loss to Houston.
ANALYSIS
The Jazz were missing several players, including Walker Kessler (shoulder), Kyle Filipowski (back) and Lauri Markkanen (wrist), all of whom are day-to-day. Nurkic looked sharp Wednesday, and that likely has something to do with the fact that he's coming off a EuroBasket stint. When the Jazz are at full strength, Nurkic projects to be Kessler's primary backup.
Jun 29, 2025
Headed to Utah
The Hornets traded Nurkic to the Jazz on Sunday in exchange for Collin Sexton and a 2031 second-round pick, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran big man is set to join his third team in two years and is in line to back up Walker Kessler in Utah. Nurkic spent time with Phoenix and Charlotte last season, averaging 8.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists across 20.8 minutes per game in 51 regular-season appearances (32 starts). Nurkic has one year remaining on his current contract and is slated to make $19 million in 2025-26.
Apr 13, 2025
Flirts with double-double in start
Nurkic ended Sunday's 93-86 loss to Boston with 14 points (6-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-3 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals in 29 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic got the starting nod in Sunday's regular season finale due to Mark Williams (foot) being sidelined, leading all players in rebounds and steals while finishing with a team-high-tying point total and coming up one board shy of a double-double. Nurkic hauled in at least nine rebounds in 19 outings this season, adding 10 or more points in 14 of those contests.
Apr 13, 2025
In starting lineup
Nurkic is in the Hornets' starting lineup against the Celtics on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
With Mark Williams (foot) sidelined, Nurkic will make his ninth start for the Hornets on Sunday (and sixth since the beginning of March). Nurkic has averaged 15.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists over 21.0 minutes per game over his last five outings.
Apr 12, 2025
Dishes six dimes against Boston
Nurkic closed Friday's 130-94 loss to Boston with 14 points (5-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, six assists and one steal across 19 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Not known for his passing, Nurkic dished out a team-high six dimes Friday, which is the third time he's done so this season. Over his last five outings, Nurkic has averaged 15.8 points on 55.0 percent shooting, 6.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists over 21.0 minutes per game over his last five outings (two starts).
Apr 11, 2025
Not starting Friday
Nurkic won't start Friday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
With Mark Williams (foot) and Moussa Diabate (illness) sidelined, Nurkic drew a spot start Wednesday and posted 26 points (12-19 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes during a 126-96 loss to the Raptors. However, with Williams back in action, Nurkic will operate off the bench Friday.
Apr 9, 2025
Near double-double Wednesday
Nurkic had 26 points (12-19 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes during Wednesday's 126-96 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
After logging a healthy DNP against the Grizzlies on Tuesday, Nurkic was inserted into the Hornets' starting lineup due to the absences of Mark Williams (foot) and Moussa Diabate (illness). Nurkic finished as the Hornets' leading rebounder and finished second in scoring behind Nick Smith (28). With two games left in the 2024-25 regular season, Nurkic's playing time will be dependant on the availability of Williams.
Apr 9, 2025
Starting against Toronto
Nurkic is in the Hornets' starting lineup against the Raptors on Wednesday, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was a healthy DNP in Tuesday's loss to the Grizzlies, but he'll make his eighth start with the Hornets on Wednesday due to the absence of Mark Williams (foot). Nurkic has averaged 7.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists over 16.8 minutes per game since the beginning of March.
Apr 4, 2025
Starting sans Williams
Nurkic will start in Friday's game against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
The veteran big man will receive the starting nod due to Mark Williams (back) being sidelined. Nurkic has averaged 10.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.4 steals across 24.0 minutes per contest in his last five starts.
Mar 31, 2025
Double-double in Sunday's start
Nurkic contributed 13 points (4-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 12 rebounds, five assists, three blocks and one steal over 22 minutes during Sunday's 98-94 loss to the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
With Mark Williams (rest) getting the night off, Nurkic made his third start in 14 March appearances and delivered his 10th double-double of the season. The three blocks also represented his best defensive performance in 19 contests since joining the Hornets. Nurkic has consistently played 20 minutes or less when coming off the bench, making him an unreliable fantasy option unless he's getting a look in the starting five.
Mar 21, 2025
Will start vs. Oklahoma City
Nurkic will be in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will be a starter for the Hornets for the fifth time this season Friday in Oklahoma City. The veteran big man is averaging 10.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game as a starter for Charlotte.
Mar 21, 2025
Nearly double-doubles
Nurkic registered nine points (3-3 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and seven rebounds in 15 minutes during Thursday's 115-98 victory over New York.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic made the most of his limited minutes off the bench Thursday. Mark Williams is being held out for injury management Friday against the Thunder, leaving the Hornets very shorthanded. Nurkic could be a popular streaming option as a result.
Mar 12, 2025
Green light to play Wednesday
Nurkic (shin) is available for Wednesday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was listed on Tuesday's injury report as questionable due to a left shin contusion, but the issue isn't severe enough for him to miss Wednesday's game. The veteran center has averaged 7.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.9 blocks over 17.9 minutes per game in his nine outings (including four starts) with the Hornets this season.
Mar 11, 2025
Questionable for Wednesday
Nurkic is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Hawks due to a left shin contusion.
ANALYSIS
The left shin contusion is a new concern for Nurkic, who has missed time recently due to neck soreness and an illness. If the veteran big man is unable to suit up Wednesday, Moussa Diabate will likely see an uptick in playing time behind Mark Williams.
Mar 10, 2025
Good to go vs. Heat
Nurkic (neck) will play Monday against Miami.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was trending in the right direction leading up to tipoff, and the team has since confirmed that he'll be available following a one-game absence. He's averaging 7.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.0 blocks over his last eight games.
Mar 9, 2025
Likely available Monday
Nurkic (neck) is probable for Monday's game against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
After posting a 12-point, 15-rebound double-double against the Cavaliers on Friday, Nurkic sat out the second half of Charlotte's back-to-back set against Brooklyn on Saturday. While the big man will be back in action Monday, Mark Williams (rest) will also be available, so Nukic will likely handle a reserve role versus Miami.
Mar 8, 2025
Unlikely to play Saturday
Nurkic is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game versus the Nets due to neck soreness.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is expected to miss Saturday's contest after starting at center in Charlotte's previous outing. With Mark Williams (foot) also out, Moussa Diabate and Taj Gibson should receive the majority of the team's center minutes against Brooklyn.
Mar 8, 2025
Double-doubles in start
Nurkic logged 12 points (6-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 0-2 FT), 15 rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal in 28 minutes during Friday's 118-117 loss to Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic had his best game since arriving in Charlotte, recording just his ninth double-double of the season. With Mark Williams given the night off for rest purposes, Nurkic stepped into the starting role for the fourth time as a Hornet. However, it wasn't enough to secure the victory as Charlotte fell to their ninth straight loss.
Mar 7, 2025
Starting Friday
Nurkic is in the Hornets' starting lineup against the Cavaliers on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was cleared to play Friday after missing three of the Hornets' last five games due to a back injury, and he will get the start due to the absence of Mark Williams (foot). Nurkic has averaged 6.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.1 steals over 1.0 blocks over 17.4 minutes per game across seven games (three starts) with Charlotte.
Mar 7, 2025
Suiting up vs. Cavaliers
Nurkic (back) is available for Friday's game against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has played off the bench in the last two games, though he's failed to record more than 15 minutes in any of those contests. If that role as Mark Williams' backup doesn't change, then the veteran isn't expected to provide a lot of upside in most fantasy formats.
Mar 6, 2025
Likely to play against Cleveland
Nurkic (back) has been listed as probable Friday against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has missed three of the Hornets' last five games but is trending toward playing Friday against Cleveland. Charlotte will need the veteran big man on the floor against arguably the best team in the league, as the team is already without Mark Williams (foot).
Mar 5, 2025
Good to go against Minnesota
Nurkic (back) is available for Wednesday's game against Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Despite managing back tightness, Nurkic is good to go Wednesday. The veteran big man should operate as Mark Williams' top backup at center against the Timberwolves. Nurkic has averaged 7.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks in 18.9 minutes over five games following the All-Star break.
Mar 4, 2025
Expected to play Wednesday
Nurkic is listed as probable for Wednesday's game versus the Timberwolves due to a lower back injury.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is expected to make his second straight appearance Wednesday despite dealing with a lower back injury. If Nurkic is officially upgraded to available, he will likely operate as Charlotte's backup center to Mark Williams.
Mar 2, 2025
Not listed on injury report
Nurkic (illness) isn't listed on the injury report for Monday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
After missing two straight games due to an illness, Nurkic will suit up Monday. However, he was a healthy DNP against the Warriors on Feb. 25 after appearing in five straight games for the Hornets. He played more than 19 minutes only once during that stretch, and the Hornets will have Mark Williams and Moussa Diabate healthy for Monday's game.
Mar 1, 2025
Downgraded to out
Nurkic (illness) won't play in Saturday's game versus the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic's absence streak will extend to four games Saturday due to an illness. His next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Golden State.
Feb 28, 2025
Questionable for Saturday
Nurkic (illness) is questionable for Saturday's matchup against Washington.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is in jeopardy of missing his third consecutive contest due to an illness. Since joining the Hornets, the big man has averaged 8.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks in 19.2 minutes per game over five appearances (three starts). If Nurkic is ruled out, Moussa Diabate will likely see an uptick in playing time.
Feb 27, 2025
Sitting Thursday
Nurkic (illness) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic won't suit up Thursday after coming down with an illness. The Hornets will rely on Mark Williams and Moussa Diabate at center in Nurkic's absence.
Feb 27, 2025
Downgraded to questionable
Nurkic (illness) has been downgraded to questionable for Thursday's game against the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic popped up on the injury report Thursday, as the veteran big man is battling an illness. The 29-year-old was a healthy scratch for Tuesday's loss to the Warriors and may end up missing a second straight game with the team in Dallas, with Moussa Diabate potentially seeing more time on the floor against the Mavericks.
Feb 25, 2025
Slides to bench Tuesday
Nurkic is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Mark Williams will man the middle for the Hornets in his return after sitting out the front end of a back-to-back Monday against the Kings. Nurkic has played four games off the bench across time with Phoenix and Charlotte this season, averaging 6.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.8 steals in 16.9 minutes as a member of the second unit.
Feb 25, 2025
Fares well as starter
Nurkic notched 12 points (4-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, one block and three steals in 27 minutes during Monday's 130-88 loss to Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Mark Williams was held out for rest on the front end of the back-to-back set, though he's expected back Tuesday. As a veteran on a rebuilding team, Nurkic may have a tough time securing a consistent role on a nightly basis with Moussa Diabate waiting in the wings.
Feb 24, 2025
Starting sans Williams
Nurkic will start in Monday's game against the Kings, Brenden Nunes of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports.
ANALYSIS
With Mark Williams sitting out of the first night of a back-to-back set due to left foot injury management, Nurkic will rejoin the starting five. The big man has appeared in four outings (two starts) as a member of the Hornets, during which he has averaged 7.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 steals across 17.3 minutes per contest.
Feb 22, 2025
Back to bench Saturday
Nurkic is not in the Hornets' starting lineup against the Trail Blazers on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will retreat to the bench Saturday due to the return of Mark Williams (conditioning) from a one-game absence. Nurkic started in Charlotte's loss to Denver on Thursday and finished with nine points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal over 19 minutes.
Feb 20, 2025
Starting sans Williams
Nurkic will enter the starting lineup in Thursday's game against Denver.
ANALYSIS
The big man will receive the starting nod with Mark Williams (conditioning) sitting out during the second night of a back-to-back set. Nurkic has accumulated nine points, 16 rebounds, eight assists, three blocks and two steals across 34 total minutes in two outings (one start) with the Hornets.
Feb 19, 2025
Slides back to bench
Nurkic won't start Wednesday's game against the Lakers, Daniel Starkand of LakersNation.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic started but played merely 16 minutes in his Hornets debut, but he'll move to the second unit Wednesday with Mark Williams (not injury related) available. Considering it's unclear how many minutes Nurkic will play as a reserve, fantasy managers should steer clear of the 29-year-old center.
Feb 12, 2025
Solid performance Wednesday
Nurkic logged nine points (3-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 16 minutes during Wednesday's 102-86 loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic got the starting nod, playing his first game as a member of the Hornets. Despite being on a minutes restriction, Nurkic managed to flirt with a double-double, while also chipping in across the board. His long-term role remains up in the air but for now, he should be able to see the court on most nights.
Feb 12, 2025
Starting in team debut
Nurkic is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Magic.
ANALYSIS
With the Hornets missing Mark Williams and Moussa Diabate (eye) on Wednesday, Nurkic will draw the start at center while operating with a minutes restriction in his team debut. Nurkic averaged 9.5 rebounds, 8.8 points, 1.9 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.7 blocks in 24.3 minutes over 23 games as a starter with the Suns this season.
Feb 11, 2025
Playing Wednesday vs. Magic
Nurkic (recently traded) will operate under a minutes restriction in his Hornets debut Wednesday against the Magic, NBA reporter Chris Haynes reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was not on the injury report for Monday's loss to the Nets but ended up being a healthy scratch. He's expected to see the court Wednesday, though he'll operate on a minutes restriction while serving as the backup center behind Moussa Diabate (eye).
Feb 10, 2025
Available for Monday
Nurkic (trade pending) is not on the injury report for Monday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic wasn't cleared to make his debut Sunday against the Pistons, but it appears that he'll suit up for the first time as a Hornet on Monday. Mark Williams (not with team) has been ruled out and Moussa Diabate (eye) is questionable, so Nurkic could potentially see a hefty role right away.
Feb 9, 2025
Now listed as out
Nurkic (trade pending) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic wasn't listed on Charlotte's injury report but has been ruled out via the NBA's official report with a trade pending designation. With Mark Williams (trade rescinded) and Nurkic unavailable, Taj Gibson will be the primary backup to Moussa Diabate on Sunday.
Feb 9, 2025
Not on injury report
Nurkic (trade pending) is not listed on Charlotte's injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
After falling out of the rotation in Phoenix, Nurkic was traded to the Hornets at the deadline and was waiting for the deal to be finalized. It's unclear what Nurkic's role will be in Charlotte, as Mark Williams is sticking around after the trade to the Lakers fell through and Moussa Diabate recently got a promotion.
Feb 8, 2025
Questionable for Sunday
Nurkic (trade pending) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was traded from the Suns to the Hornets earlier this week but is still waiting for the deal to be officially finalized before making his Charlotte debut. If Nurkic is unable to suit up against Detroit, Moussa Diabate and Taj Gibson should soak up the majority of the team's center minutes.
Feb 7, 2025
Won't make Charlotte debut Friday
Nurkic (recently traded) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Spurs, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will sit out of Friday's contest after the Hornets acquired him from the Suns on Thursday. The big man's next chance to play will come Sunday against the Pistons, and he will likely compete with Moussa Diabate for playing time.
Feb 7, 2025
Questionable to make debut Friday
Nurkic (trade pending) is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was shipped from Phoenix to Charlotte on Thursday but is questionable to make his debut Friday as the trade is still being finalized. If the 30-year-old big man is able to suit up, he will likely compete for starting center minutes with Moussa Diabate after the Hornets traded away Nick Richards and Mark Williams.
Feb 6, 2025
Traded to Charlotte
The Suns traded Nurkic and a first-round pick to the Hornets on Thursday in exchange for Cody Martin and Vasilije Micic, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic, who fell out of Phoenix's rotation recently, now heads to a Charlotte team that just traded away Mark Williams to Los Angeles. On paper, Nurkic will be the favorite to start at center over Moussa Diabate, but Charlotte is also in the early stages of a rebuild and it remains to be seen what type of role they envision Nurkic to play. Fantasy managers may want to scoop him up in the meantime, as he can be very productive when the minutes and usage are there.
Jan 24, 2025
Good to go Saturday
Nurkic (conditioning) is available for Saturday's game versus the Wizards, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is set to return Saturday after missing Phoenix's previous seven outings due to an illness and subsequent return-to-play conditioning. Nurkic will likely compete for backup center minutes with Mason Plumlee behind Nick Richards against Washington.
Jan 24, 2025
Goes through practice Friday
Nurkic (conditioning) participated in Friday's practice, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has missed Phoenix's last seven contests due to an illness and then return-to-play conditioning. However, the veteran big man's return to practice is a good sign of his availability for Saturday's game versus the Wizards.
Jan 21, 2025
Still out Wednesday
Nurkic (conditioning) is out for Wednesday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
After Nurkic missed seven consecutive games with an illness, the Suns are now listing him as out due to return-to-play conditioning. His next chance to return comes Saturday against the Wizards, although it's unclear how he'll mix into Phoenix's rotation once healthy. Nick Richards has taken over as the team's new starting center, and veteran Mason Plumlee should work as the backup big man until Nurkic is cleared to play.
Jan 19, 2025
Out again Monday
Nurkic (illness) will not play Monday against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will be sidelined for a seventh straight game Monday. He lost his rotation spot prior to the illness, and the Suns are likely to roll with Nick Richards as their first-choice center going forward.
Jan 17, 2025
Remains out Saturday
Nurkic (illness) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will miss a sixth straight game for the Suns as he battles an illness. With the veteran big man still sidelined, the newly acquired Nick Richards could get some of his minutes along with fellow veteran big Mason Plumlee.
Jan 15, 2025
Listed as out for Thursday
Nurkic (illness) is out for Thursday's game against the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
After the Suns acquired Nick Richards in a trade with the Hornets on Wednesday, Nurkic's fantasy stock continues to plummet. Nurkic's next chance to play comes Saturday against Detroit, although it's unclear what kind of role he'll have upon returning. If Richards isn't able to join Phoenix's rotation in time for Thursday, Mason Plumlee should continue starting at center against Washington.
Jan 13, 2025
Could miss more time with illness
Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer said prior to Sunday's 120-113 win over the Hornets that Nurkic is dealing with the flu and isn't expected to travel with the team for the start of its upcoming five-game road trip that begins Tuesday in Atlanta, Doug Haller of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is should be considered doubtful for Tuesday until the Suns provide an official update, though the veteran center had went unused in coach's decisions in Phoenix's previous two games before missing Sunday's contest with the illness. Budenholzer suggested that Nurkic could rejoin the Suns at some point during the trip, but unless Mason Plumlee or Oso Ighodaro miss time, Nurkic looks as though he'll remain outside of the rotation.
Jan 12, 2025
Dealing with illness
Nurkic won't play Sunday against the Hornets due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has been benched and taken out of the rotation completely since returning from a three-game suspension, so his absence Sunday shouldn't impact Phoenix's current rotation. Mason Plumlee and Oso Ighodaro will continue to split minutes at center for the foreseeable future.
Jan 10, 2025
Falls out of rotation
Nurkic didn't play during Thursday's 123-115 win over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Despite being available for Thursday's contest, Nurkic failed to log any playing time. Since returning from his three-game suspension, the 30-year-old center has been removed from the starting lineup and has now fallen out of the rotation altogether. Mason Plumlee and Oso Ighodaro soaked up all of the center minutes against Atlanta, and it will be worth monitoring to see if this trend continues.
Jan 7, 2025
Rough outing in win
Nurkic provided five points (1-2 FG, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds and one assist over 14 minutes during Monday's 109-99 victory over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
After returning from suspension and being demoted to the bench, Nurkic didn't do much to make a case to get back in the starting lineup or get more minutes for the Suns. Nurkic took on only two shots against the 76ers, finishing with five points in 14 minutes, and there's no telling what kind of role he'll have on this team moving forward.
Jan 6, 2025
Not expected to be in starting unit
Nurkic is expected to be replaced in Phoenix's starting lineup by Mason Plumlee, NBA reporter Chris Haynes reports.
ANALYSIS
At least temporarily, Nurkic's three-game suspension was the final straw in his starting spot, which has been given to Mason Plumlee. Since signing with the Suns, he has not played outside of their starting lineup, which has needed a relatively cheap post option with Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal taking up a lot of cap space. This season, Nurkic is averaging 8.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists, all downgrades compared to those he logged during his first season with Phoenix.
Dec 28, 2024
Issued three-game suspension
Nurkic will serve a three-game suspension for his role in an on-court altercation during Friday's loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic got into a physical altercation with Naji Marshall in the third quarter of the contest and struck Marshall on the head before being ejected. Nurkic's suspension will begin Saturday at Golden State, meaning his next chance to play will come Jan. 6 against the 76ers. While he's sidelined, Mason Plumlee and Oso Ighodaro should handle most of the center work.
Dec 27, 2024
Ejected from Friday's game
Nurkic was ejected in the third quarter of Friday's game against the Mavericks after getting into an altercation with Naji Marshall, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports. Nurkic ended the game with three points (1-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt), five rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block across 14 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Marshall and Nurkic exchanged words after the Suns' big man was assessed with an offensive foul, and the two had to be separated after throwing a punch at each other. P.J. Washington was also ejected on the same sequence after he got into the argument and pushed Nurkic to the hardwood. The absence of Nurkic will translate into more minutes for the likes of Oso Ighodaro and Mason Plumlee, although Kevin Durant could also slide to the five in an attempt to play with a small-ball lineup.
Dec 24, 2024
Logs 15 minutes Monday
Nurkic registered four points (1-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one steal in 15 minutes during Monday's 117-90 loss to Denver.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic logged one of his worst performances of the season Monday, as he was limited to just 15 minutes while looking completely overmatched against Nikola Jokic. That said, the fact that he committed four fouls in those 15 minutes wasn't ideal, either. Nurkic is going through a dry spell of late, as he's failed to reach the 15-point mark in his last seven appearances dating back to Nov. 26. He's averaging 9.4 points per game despite shooting 56.5 percent from the floor in that span.
Dec 20, 2024
Nabs double-double in loss
Nurkic had 12 points (4-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 32 minutes during Thursday's 120-111 loss to Indiana.
ANALYSIS
The big man posted his eighth double-double of the season and tied Kevin Durant for the team-high mark in rebounds Thursday. Nurkic has struggled with efficiency and is on pace to shoot 45.2 percent from the field this season, though he delivered a productive performance against Indiana. The veteran center has played in three consecutive outings following a five-game absence due to a right thigh contusion, during which he has averaged 11.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 assists while shooting 60.9 percent from the field across 29.7 minutes per contest.
Dec 16, 2024
Pulls down 14 rebounds
Nurkic logged 10 points (4-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 26 minutes during Sunday's 116-109 victory over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic delivered an impressive performance on both ends of the court Sunday and recorded his first double-double since Nov. 26, although it must be noted he also missed five games between Nov. 30 and Dec. 8 due to a thigh problem. Nurkic might hold a secondary role on offense behind the Suns' Big Three, but he can get the job done on both ends of the court when needed. This was his seventh double-double of the season.
Dec 14, 2024
Productive in big minutes in return
Nurkic (thigh) turned in 12 points (6-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt), seven rebounds, three blocks and one steal across 31 minutes in Friday's 134-126 win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic reclaimed his spot in the starting five after missing the last five games, initially due to a left ankle sprain and then due to a right thigh contusion. He faced no restrictions in his return, clearing the 30-minute mark while setting a new season high with three blocks. Nurkic's health has been shaky this season and his minutes have been volatile, but if he can replicate Friday's line with any sort of regularity, he'll be worthy of a roster spot in 12-team points and category leagues.
Dec 12, 2024
Off injury report for Friday
Nurkic (thigh) is off the injury report for Friday's game against Utah.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is slated to return from a five-game absence due to a left ankle sprain and a right thigh contusion. The big man has averaged 8.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists across 24.0 minutes per contest over his last five outings.
Dec 2, 2024
Out at least one week
Phoenix announced Monday that Nurkic will be re-evaluated in one week due to a right thigh contusion, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
This is a tough blow for Phoenix, as it means Nurkic will miss at least four games. Oso Ighodaro could pick up most of the slack in Nurkic's absence, while Mason Plumlee could benefit as well. Through 16 games this regular season, Nurkic holds averages of 8.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.9 steals.
Nov 30, 2024
Not playing Saturday
Nurkic (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Warriors, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was initially tagged as probable for Saturday's game by head coach Mike Budenholzer after Friday's practice. However, the ankle injury appears serious enough that Nurkic will be sidelined, and his next chance to play will be against the Spurs on Tuesday. Mason Plumlee and Oso Ighodaro will see increased playing time due to Nurkic's injury.
Nov 29, 2024
Questionable to play Saturday
Nurkic (ankle) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Warriors, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Mike Budenholzer said after Friday's practice that Nurkic and Bradley Beal (calf) are probable for Saturday's game, though Nurkic is by no means a lock to play. If Nurkic is sidelined, Oso Ighodaro or Mason Plumlee would be the top candidates to enter the Sun's starting lineup.
Nov 29, 2024
Likely to play Saturday
Nurkic (ankle) is probable for Saturday's game versus the Warriors, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite continuing to deal with a nagging ankle injury, Nurkic is expected to make his fourth straight appearance Saturday. Across his last five outings, Nurkic is averaging 8.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 24.0 minutes.
Nov 21, 2024
Brings down double-double in loss
Nurkic had 14 points (5-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three steals over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 138-122 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic held his own despite an enormous night from Karl-Anthony Towns in the paint. The Suns are relieved to have one of their impact players off the injury report after he joined Kevin Durant (calf) and Bradley Beal (calf) on the sidelines twice over the past week. Nurkic's season has been a mixed bag, as he's performing slightly below his seasonal averages in every major category. Field-goal percentage is the most glaring shortcoming, as his 40.4 percent conversion rate is the lowest of his career, and a full 11 percentage points behind his 2023-24 average.
Nov 20, 2024
Returning to action Wednesday
Nurkic (ankle) has been cleared for Wednesday's game against New York, Kellan Olson of ArizonaSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will return after missing two of Phoenix's last five games due to a nagging ankle injury. Mason Plumlee has filled in admirably as a rebounder while earning a plus-6.5 net rating on the season, so there's no guarantee that Nurkic will exceed the 23.7 minutes he has averaged across his 13 appearances this year.
Nov 19, 2024
Questionable for Wednesday
Nurkic (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic continues to deal with a left ankle sprain, and after missing the game against the Magic on Monday, he'll be a game-time call for Wednesday's contest. If Nurkic can't go, then Oso Ighodaro and Mason Plumlee would be in line to see more minutes in a depleted Suns frontcourt.
Nov 18, 2024
Listed as out Monday
Nurkic (ankle) is listed as out for Tuesday's game against Orlando.
ANALYSIS
After three straight appearances for the Suns, Nurkic will be held out with a left ankle sprain, something that continues to pop up. With Nurkic on the shelf, this will be a big opportunity for Oso Ighodaro to step up for the Suns after a strong performance Sunday against the Timberwolves.
Nov 17, 2024
Upgraded to available
Nurkic (ankle) is available for Sunday's game against the Timberwolves, Amanda Pflugrad of 3TV Phoenix reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Nurkic has been upgraded from probable to available and will suit up for a third consecutive contest following a one-game absence. Over his last two appearances, Nurkic has averaged 3.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 25.5 minutes per game.
Nov 16, 2024
Probable for Sunday
Nurkic is probable for Sunday's game against the Timberwolves due to a left ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has been bothered by a left ankle sprain over the last few days. Even though the injury hasn't prevented the big man from suiting up outside of the Nov. 12 win over the Jazz, it has certainly impacted his play. Nurkic is averaging a mere 2.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game in his last three contests.
Nov 15, 2024
Getting green light
Nurkic (ankle) is available for Friday's game against the Thunder, Nick Gallo of the Thunder's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has been upgraded from questionable to available and will suit up for a second straight contest after a one-game absence due to the ankle issue. He posted three points, 11 rebounds, one assist and three steals in 22 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Kings.
Nov 14, 2024
Iffy for Friday vs. OKC
Nurkic is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Thunder due to a left ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic missed Tuesday's win over Utah due to the lingering ankle injury, though he was able to suit up in the second leg of the back-to-back set in Wednesday's loss to the Kings. If the big man is unable to suit up Friday, Mason Plumlee will likely get the starting nod with Oso Ighodaro receiving an uptick in playing time off the bench.
Nov 13, 2024
Good to go Wednesday
Nurkic (ankle) has been removed from the injury report in advance of Wednesday's game versus Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was sidelined Tuesday due to left ankle soreness after aggravating a pre-existing injury in a prior matchup versus Sacramento on Sunday. His left ankle appears to be in a tenuous condition, albeit minor enough for the big man to return to action.
Nov 12, 2024
Ruled out Tuesday
Nurkic (ankle) has been ruled out of Tuesday's game against the Jazz, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will miss the Suns' first NBA Cup matchup due to left ankle soreness. The big man aggravated the injury during Sunday's loss to the Kings, and he should be considered questionable for the second leg of the back-to-back set as the team plays the Kings on Wednesday.
Nov 11, 2024
Iffy for Tuesday
Nurkic (ankle) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against Utah, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic aggravated a left ankle injury during the Sun's 127-118 loss to the Kings on Sunday. If Nurkic is unable to play Tuesday, Mason Plumlee would likely get the start at center while Royce O'Neale and sees an uptick in minutes off the bench.
Nov 10, 2024
Won't return Sunday
Nurkic will not return to Sunday's game against the Kings due to an ankle injury, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic came into the game with an ankle injury which he seemingly reaggravated before being ruled out for the remainder of the contest. Nurkic will finish with zero points (0-4 FG, 0-3 3Pt), seven rebounds and one steal in 15 minutes of action.
Nov 10, 2024
Available Sunday
Nurkic (ankle) will play during Sunday's game against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic carried a questionable tag into Sunday's game due to left ankle soreness, but he will be able to play through the injury. Nurkic holds averages of 13.3 points, 14.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 29.8 minutes per game over his last four contests.
Nov 9, 2024
Questionable to play Sunday
Nurkic is questionable for Sunday's game against the Kings due to left ankle soreness.
ANALYSIS
The Suns will be without Kevin Durant (calf) for at least two weeks, and losing Nurkic would deplete the frontcourt considerably. However, the questionable tag suggests he should have a decent chance of playing Sunday. Nurkic is averaging 11.0 points and 10.6 rebounds per game this season.
Nov 9, 2024
Posts double-double
Nurkic totaled 15 points (6-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds and two steals in 34 minutes during Friday's 114-113 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has recorded three consecutive double-doubles, and the veteran big man is enjoying a strong start to the campaign due to his impressive two-way display. One area in which he's excelling is three-point shooting, as Nurkic has drained at least one three in five games in a row while going 5-for-7 in his last two contests. During the season, Nurkic is averaging 11.0 points and 10.6 rebounds per game while shooting 34.6 percent from deep.
Nov 7, 2024
Near 20/20 game
Nurkic produced 20 points (6-8 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 18 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal in 33 minutes during Wednesday's 115-112 win over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was excellent Wednesday, connecting on multiple three-pointers for the first time this season while compiling season highs in points and rebounds. The performance was just Nurkic's third double-double of the campaign, but he's averaging 10.5 points and 10.6 rebounds across 24.4 minutes per game on the year. He's grabbed at least 15 rebounds in three straight contests.
Nov 5, 2024
Double-double against Sixers
Nurkic recorded 15 points (5-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 15 rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals over 28 minutes during Monday's 118-116 victory over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
The 30-year-old center dominated the glass with Joel Embiid (knee) still sidelined for the Sixers. The double-double was only the second of the season for Nurkic in seven games, as his production has been somewhat feast or famine -- he's pulled down 15 boards in each of the last two games, but managed only seven in total over the prior two contests.
Oct 29, 2024
Plays just 15 minutes
Nurkic contributed two points (1-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds and two blocks over 15 minutes during Monday's 109-105 victory over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic had a nightmare outing Monday, and the Suns struggled mightily whenever he was on the floor. Mason Plumlee played 26 minutes as a result, and this could be a worrying trend to monitor for Nurkic's fantasy managers moving forward.
Oct 27, 2024
Stands out with double-double
Nurkic finished with 18 points (7-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-8 FT), 14 rebounds, one assist and one block over 30 minutes during Saturday's 114-102 victory over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic enjoyed a bigger offensive role Saturday due to the absence of Bradley Beal (elbow), and that was noticeable in how involved he was as a scoring option -- he attempted 12 shots in this win while tallying 10 field goals combined over his first two contests. Nurkic has scored in double digits while grabbing at least nine rebounds in two of his first three appearances this season.
Oct 18, 2024
Steady under the basket in loss
Nurkic generated 15 points (6-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal across 17 minutes in Thursday's 128-122 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was matched in minutes with Mason Plumlee, who recorded more rebounds during the loss. Despite Plumlee's increased involvement, Nurkic is in no immediate danger of losing his job, but he may get a little more rest in the opening weeks of the regular season as his finger continues to heal.
Oct 17, 2024
Gets start Thursday
Nurkic is in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason game against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Not only Nurkic will be available, but he'll also be in the starting lineup alongside what figures to be the regular first unit for Phoenix once the regular season begins. He'll play alongside Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, Devin Booker and Tyus Jones. Nurkic averaged 10.9 points and 11.0 rebounds per game across 76 regular-season contests in 2023-24.
Oct 17, 2024
Will be available Thursday
Nurkic (finger) will be available for Thursday's preseason finale against the Lakers, Amanda Pflugrad of 3TV Phoenix reports.
ANALYSIS
This is unsurprising, as all signs pointed to Nurkic being available for this contest. This will be the preseason debut for the big man, who figures to open the 2024-25 season as the Suns' starting center.
Oct 16, 2024
On track for Thursday
Nurkic (finger) plans to return to action in Thursday's preseason finale against the Lakers, Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has yet to play in the preseason as he recovers from a left finger injury, but Phoenix's starting big appears to be near full health. Nurkic is right handed, so any lingering limitations from his finger injury would have minimal impact on his shooting.
Oct 15, 2024
Still absent from practice
Coach Mike Budenholzer said Tuesday that Nurkic (finger) has yet to do any contact practice and is working on his conditioning, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic hasn't seen any action this preseason due to a left middle finger injury. While Nurkic will almost certainly miss Phoenix's preseason finale against the Lakers on Thursday, his availability to begin the regular season is uncertain.
Oct 12, 2024
Out against Denver
Nurkic (finger) won't play in Sunday's preseason game versus the Nuggets, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has yet to suit up this preseason while dealing with a left middle finger injury. While it's unclear if Nurkic will be good to go for the beginning of the regular season, his next chance to suit up will be Thursday's preseason matchup with the Lakers.
Oct 11, 2024
Out Friday, remains day-to-day
Nurkic (finger) is viewed as day-to-day, Amanda Pflugrad of 3TV Phoenix reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is reportedly doing well in his recovery, but the plan is for the team to continue monitoring him going forward. The big man has yet to suit up for either of the Suns' first two preseason contests due to the injury. When healthy, he is slated to anchor the Suns' frontcourt this season.
Oct 5, 2024
Out at least a week
The Suns announced Saturday that Nurkic won't play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Lakers due to a left middle finger and will be re-evaluated in one week, Kellan Olson of ArizonaSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic's finger injury will keep him out of Phoenix's preseason opener. However, there is no indication that the 30-year-old big man will be forced to miss any regular-season action.
Jul 31, 2024
Working on 3-point stroke
Nurkic has been working on his three-point stroke this summer, Evan Sidery of Forbes.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's late July, so we've hit the "big man expanding his range" portion of the news cycle. For what it's worth, Nurkic did drill a respectable 36.1 percent of his 119 three-point attempts during his 2022-23 campaign in Portland, but he saw a regression to the mean last season, converting just 24.4 percent of his long balls in Phoenix. Throughout his 10 years of professional experience Nurkic has shot 97-347 from distance, so we wouldn't expect him to suddenly become a lethal shooter from the perimeter, but he will need to shoot competently from beyond the arc to function in Mike Budenholzer's system. Don't be surprised if the 30-year-old Bosnian sees fewer minutes with a new coach in town.
Apr 29, 2024
Nearly double-doubles
Nurkic provided nine points (3-5 FG, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals over 20 minutes during Sunday's 122-116 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was very inconsistent in the first round against the Timberwolves, which was the case for most of the team, to be fair. Overall, Nurkic had a solid regular season campaign for Phoenix, averaging 10.9 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.1 blocks and 1.1 steals. Nurkic will remain under contract for two more seasons.
Apr 23, 2024
Double-doubles in loss
Nurkic finished with 10 points (5-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 0-2 FT), 14 rebounds and four assists over 31 minutes during Tuesday's 105-93 loss to Minnesota in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds to go with 10 points, tallying his first double-double of the series. While he was more involved, the Suns still came up short, falling behind 2-0 in the series. Game 3 will be in Phoenix on Friday, where Nurkic will look to be even more of a force on the interior against the size of the Timberwolves.
Apr 11, 2024
Quiet offensively in double-double
Nurkic notched three points (1-1 FG, 1-2 FT), 19 rebounds, 10 assists and one block across 30 minutes during Wednesday's 124-108 victory over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic returned after missing Tuesday's game against the Clippers due to a sprained right ankle, ending the contest with just a trio of points despite still ending with a double-double while leading all players in Wednesday's outing in rebounds and assists. Nurkic set a new season high in assists while posting his eighth game with 18 or more boards this year.
Apr 10, 2024
Not on injury report for Wednesday
Nurkic (ankle) isn't on the injury report for Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic missed Tuesday's game against the Clippers due to a sprained right ankle, but he'll be back in action for the second half of the back-to-back set. Over his last five appearances, he's averaged 8.6 points, 11.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 29.5 minutes per game.
Apr 9, 2024
Ruled out Tuesday
Nurkic (ankle) is out for Tuesday's game against the Clippers, Kellan Olson of ArizonaSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was initially listed as questionable due to a right ankle sprain, and the Suns will not risk him with the playoffs right around the corner. However, his loss could be troublesome, as the Suns have gone 1-4 without Nurkic this season. Expect Drew Eubanks to start in his place.
Apr 8, 2024
Dealing with ankle sprain
Nurkic is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Clippers due to a right ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic logged 31 minutes in Sunday's loss to New Orleans without an in-game injury being reported, but his status will need to be monitored in advance of Tuesday's contest. Tuesday also marks the beginning of a back-to-back set for the Suns, with a rematch versus the Clippers on deck Wednesday. The Suns have posted a 1-4 record without Nurkic this season.
Apr 6, 2024
Back in action with double-double
Nurkic supplied 11 points (5-11 FG, 1-3 FT), 15 rebounds, six assists, one block and three steals over 26 minutes during Friday's 97-87 victory over Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic returned to the starting lineup to post a solid result after missing Wednesday's game with a calf injury. He faced a stern test. against Rudy Gobert but was very effective in containing him to only four points and six rebounds. Surging play from Bol Bol won't be enough to keep Nurkic from continuing his full-time role, and he's a safe bet to see the most time at the five as the Suns make a final playoff push.
Apr 5, 2024
Will play Friday
Nurkic (calf) will play Friday against the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will shed his questionable tag to suit up against Rudy Gobert. Nurkic is averaging 8.4 points, 11.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists over his last 10 games.
Apr 4, 2024
Iffy due to calf soreness
Nurkic is questionable for Friday's game against Minnesota with left calf soreness, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This is a new issue for Nurkic, but the questionable tag suggests that he's day-to-day. If Nurkic is unable to suit up, the Suns could turn to Drew Eubanks and Bol Bol to soak up some frontcourt minutes.
Apr 1, 2024
Posts 19 points, 19 boards
Nurkic had 19 points (5-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 8-11 FT), 19 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal in 36 minutes during Monday's 124-111 victory over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has now posted 12 games with at least 15 rebounds this season. The 29-year-old has also accumulated 25 double-doubles through his 70 appearances thus far. Nurkic's plus-11.2 net rating per 100 possessions on the year indicates his importance to the Suns.
Mar 29, 2024
Available for Friday
Nurkic (ankle) is available for Friday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic missed Wednesday's game against the Nuggets, but he's officially back after a one-game absence. Presumably, Drew Eubanks will return to the bench as a result. Nurkic has been elite on the boards in March, averaging 13.5 rebounds per game.
Mar 28, 2024
Questionable for Friday
Nurkic (ankle) is questionable for Friday's game in Oklahoma City, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic missed Wednesday's game due to a sprained ankle, which resulted in Drew Eubanks drawing a spot-start and he finished with five points, four rebounds and an assist over 27 minutes. If Nurkic needs to miss another game, Eubanks would likely get another start, but he's not the most attractive target in fantasy hoops.
Mar 27, 2024
Will not play versus Nuggets
Nuriic (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will miss his first game since Feb. 23 due to a right ankle sprain. In his absence, some combination of Drew Eubanks, Bol Bol Bol and Ish Wainright are candidates to absorb his minutes.
Mar 26, 2024
Questionable for Wednesday
Nurkic (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic suffered a sprained ankle Monday against the Spurs and was unable to practice Tuesday. It's unclear whether he'll be able to play Wednesday, but Drew Eubanks could see additional work if Nurkic is sidelined.
Mar 26, 2024
Doesn't practice Tuesday
Nurkic (ankle) did not practice Tuesday in advance of Wednesday's game versus Denver, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
After spraining his ankle in Monday's loss to San Antonio, not practicing Tuesday isn't overly surprising, but it certainly puts his status in jeopardy for Wednesday's contest. Drew Eubanks would be a candidate for extensive run if Nurkic can't play, while Thaddeus Young could re-enter the rotation.
Mar 25, 2024
Won't return Monday
Nurkic has been ruled out for the remainder of Monda's game against the Spurs due to a right ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic appeared to roll his ankle at the start of the third quarter, and he walked gingerly to the locker room shortly after. Drew Eubanks, Bol Bol and Ish Wainright will likely be called on to handle minutes at center the rest of the way.
Mar 23, 2024
Available to face San Antonio
Nurkic (orbital) is available to face the Spurs on Saturday, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was initially listed as probable, so his availability here isn't surprising, and he's expected to go toe-to-toe against Victor Wembanyama. Nurkic has averaged 9.2 points, 14.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 blocks in 27.9 minutes per game since the beginning of March.
Mar 22, 2024
Probable for Saturday
Nurkic is probable for Saturday's game against the Spurs due to an orbital contusion.
ANALYSIS
The injury sounds more serious than it is apparently, as the big man will likely suit up and go toe-to-toe with Victor Wembanyama. Over his last 13 appearances, Nurkic has averaged 10.4 points, 14.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.2 blocks in 28.5 minutes per game.
Mar 16, 2024
Records at least 20 boards again
Nurkic supplied 13 points (5-9 FG, 3-7 FT), 21 rebounds, two assists and one block in 31 minutes during Friday's 107-96 victory over Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has reached the 20-rebound mark in each of his last two appearances, as he also grabbed 20 boards in the loss to the Celtics on Thursday, and this was the fourth time he's achieved this feat since the end of the All-Star break. The veteran big man might not be one of the Suns' primary offensive options, but he continues to deliver value thanks to his impressive two-way play. Nurkic is averaging 10.5 points, 15.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.4 blocks per game since the end of the All-Star break.
Mar 14, 2024
Grabs 20 boards vs. Boston
Nurkic amassed eight points (4-9 FG, 0-2 FT), 20 rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal in 31 minutes during Thursday's 127-112 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has now registered 20-plus rebounds four times this season, three of which have occurred over the last nine games. He was responsible for seven of the Suns' 19 offensive rebounds, and he ranks seventh in the NBA averaging 10.9 rebounds per game. Since the All-Star break, Nurkic is averaging 10.2 points on 53.8 percent shooting, 14.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.4 blocks over 27.7 minutes per game.
Mar 10, 2024
Records another double-double
Nurkic notched 11 points (5-6 FG, 1-3 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 28 minutes during Saturday's 117-107 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was efficient on both ends of the court, missing just one shot from the field and also grabbing double-digit rebounds for the seventh consecutive outing. Nurkic has four double-doubles over that seven-game stretch, and while his role on offense will diminish once the Suns are at full strength, he's still a threat to record a double-double every time he steps on the court.
Mar 6, 2024
Grabs 12 boards in victory
Nurkic notched seven points (3-4 FG, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and two steals over 30 minutes before fouling out of Tuesday's 117-107 overtime win over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Considering Nurkic's herculean 31-rebound game, no one woud blame him for taking a night off, and the injury report indicated that he was sore and might need the rest. He couldn't resist a tangle with Nikola Jokic, and although the MVP candidate won the rebounding battle, Nurkic did enough to keep the interior afloat. there aren't any back-to-backs for the Suns until next week, so barring a setback, it doesn't look like Nurkic will miss any time.
Mar 5, 2024
Good to go against Denver
Nurkic (calf) is listed as available for Tuesday's game versus the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
After previously being downgraded to questionable with right calf tightness, Nurkic has now been upgraded to available Tuesday. The 29-year-old center is averaging 11.1 points, 12.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.0 steals in 26.6 minutes across his last 10 appearances.
Mar 5, 2024
Downgraded to questionable
Nurkic (calf) has been downgraded to questionable for Tuesday's game against Denver.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was previously marked as probable and said after the morning shootaround that he was planning to play, but the downgrade to questionable is pretty ominous. He'll likely warm up before a final decision is made.
Mar 5, 2024
Plans to play Tuesday
Nurkic (calf) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets, but he plans to play, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic landed on the injury report after grabbing a franchise-record 31 rebounds versus the Thunder on Sunday. He said he "feels better" and is fine after undergoing tests. "I'll warm up and see, but I plan on playing. I'll always choose to play if I can," Nurkic said Tuesday morning.
Mar 4, 2024
Deservedly sore
Nurkic is questionable for Tuesday's game against Denver due to right calf tightness.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic ripped down a franchise-record 31 rebounds for Phoenix in Sunday's victory over the Thunder, although his status will need to be monitored in advance of Tuesday's contest. Royce O'Neale would be a candidate for small-ball center minutes if Nurkic can't suit up Tuesday, while Drew Eubanks and Thaddeus Young would likely enter the mix as a platoon as well.
Mar 4, 2024
Breaks record with 31 rebounds
Nurkic finished with 14 points (7-16 FG, 0-2 3Pt), 31 rebounds, four assists and one block across 32 minutes during Sunday's 118-110 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic's scintillating total was the highest rebound total recorded over the past 14 seasons and broke a franchise record for the Suns. Despite the incredible line, Nurkic's heroics weren't enough to upend the Thunder, who took over the top spot in the West with the win. While we should never expect totals anywhere close to Sunday's result, Nurkic has exceeded 20 rebounds two other times and will be a frequent double-double producer down the stretch.
Mar 3, 2024
Available Sunday
Nurkic (neck) will play in Sunday's game against the Thunder, Steve McGehee of News 9 Oklahoma City reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic left Saturday's game against the Rockets early due to neck spasms, but he will be able to suit up Sunday. He could be called upon for increased offensive production with Devin Booker (ankle) out of the lineup and Eric Gordon and Bradley Beal on minutes restrictions.
Mar 3, 2024
Listed as probable
Nurkic (neck) is probable for Sunday's game against the Thunder, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic left Saturday's loss to the Rockets after getting hit in the face by Josh Okogie, resulting in neck spasms for the big man. It looks like Nurkic will give it a go during the second night of Phoenix's back-to-back set, and the Suns may need more out of the big man, as Devin Booker (ankle) has been ruled out.
Mar 2, 2024
Will not return Saturday
Nurkic will not return to Saturday's game versus Houston due to neck spasms. He finished with seven points, 10 rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block in 17 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic left the game before halftime and was ruled out shortly after. Drew Eubanks started the second half in his place, and he would likely be a big beneficiary if Nurkic misses Sunday's game versus the Thunder. Bol Bol could also be a candidate to see a boost in fantasy value.
Mar 2, 2024
Heads to locker room Saturday
Nurkic headed to the locker room with 1:40 left in the second quarter of Saturday's game against the Rockets due to an apparent collision and a potential head/face injury, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic suffered a collision in the second quarter and was forced to leave to the locker room, whether further tests will determine whether he'll be able to return or not. The Suns are doing the right thing by being cautious with their starting center, and if he can't return to the hardwood, then Drew Eubanks would probably absorb most of the minutes at center, with Thaddeus Young and Bol Bol also being options.
Mar 1, 2024
Mixed results in win
Nurkic recorded 16 points (4-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 8-16 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal in 27 minutes before fouling out of Thursday's 110-105 victory over Houston.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has totaled 34 points, 35 rebounds, nine assists, four blocks and two steals over Phoenix's last two games, proving to be a difference maker while the team remains without Bradley Beal (hamstring). However, Houston employed the Hack-a-Shaq strategy down the stretch of Thursday's game, and Nurkic struggled to stay efficient from the charity stripe. Fantasy managers in category leagues likely took a hit in the free-throw department due to this performance, but Nurkic, who also committed a season-high seven turnovers, still did enough Thursday to make a positive impact in most leagues.
Feb 29, 2024
Cleared to play
Nurkic (ankle) will be available for Thursday's game against the Rockets, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has been dealing with some lingering soreness in his ankle, but he was always expected to suit up for this contest. Coach Frank Vogel made no mention of any restrictions for his starting center.
Feb 28, 2024
Officially deemed probable
Nurkic (ankle) is listed as probable for Thursday's game versus the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is expected to suit up Thursday despite dealing with a nagging right ankle sprain. If he's upgraded to available, Nurkic should be able to handle his full workload.
Feb 28, 2024
Expected to play Thursday
Coach Frank Vogel said Wednesday that Nurkic is still dealing with a sore ankle but should be able to play Thursday versus Houston, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has been dealing with the ankle injury for over a week, but it wasn't an issue during Sunday's win over the Lakers, as the big man posted 18 points, 22 rebounds and seven assists. The Suns haven't released their official injury report yet, but it sounds like Nurkic is trending toward being probable, at worst.
Feb 27, 2024
Still dealing with ankle soreness
Nurkic (ankle) participated in non-contract parts of Tuesday's practice, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic tweaked his ankle at a practice last week, attempted to play through the issue Thursday versus Dallas and was sidelined for Friday's matchup versus the Rockets. The big man returned to action Sunday and exploded for 18 points, 22 rebounds and seven assists during a win over the Lakers. He'll have another day to rest and recover before attempting to suit up Thursday against Houston.
Feb 25, 2024
Good to go Sunday
Nurkic (ankle) will play Sunday against the Lakers, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Nurkic has been upgraded from probable to available and will replace Drew Eubanks in the starting lineup. Over his final eight games before the All-Star break, Nurkic averaged 13.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in 26.4 minutes per game.
Feb 24, 2024
Expected to play
Nurkic (ankle) is listed as probable for Sunday's game versus the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was unable to play Friday versus Houston, but he's expected to be back in his usual spot in the lineup to face the Lakers. Drew Eubanks started in Nurkic's spot Friday and produced nine points, five rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal.
Feb 23, 2024
Downgraded to out
Nurkic (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Rockets, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Nurkic has been downgraded from doubtful to out, but the extent of the injury remains unclear. In his absence, Drew Eubanks is a candidate to start at center. Thaddeus Young, who recently joined the join, could be integrated into the rotation as well, while Phoenix will also deploy plenty of small-ball lineups, which should benefit Royce O'Neale.
Feb 23, 2024
Doubtful for Friday
Nurkic is doubtful for Friday's game against the Rockets due to a right ankle sprain, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic wasn't part of the Suns' rotation during the fourth quarter of Thursday's loss to Dallas, and it appears that may have been because of an injury, though nothing was reported during the contest. With the big man unlikely to play, Drew Eubanks would be the top candidate to start at center. However, Thaddeus Young, who recently joined the team, could be integrated into the rotation. Phoenix will also deploy plenty of small-ball lineups.
Feb 15, 2024
All-around outing in double-double
Nurkic closed with 10 points (2-2 FG, 6-10 FT), 13 rebounds, seven assists and two blocks across 22 minutes during Wednesday's 116-100 win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic led all players in Wednesday's battle in rebounds while handing out a team-high assist total and ending as the lone Suns player with a double-double in a balanced performance. Nurkic has handed out seven or more dimes in seven games this season, finishing two assists short of matching his season high. The center has recorded at least 10 points, 10 boards and five assists in seven outings, including in three of his last eight appearances.
Feb 4, 2024
Flirts with triple-double in win
Nurkic produced 18 points (7-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 13 rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 25 minutes during Sunday's 140-112 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic put forth an all-around performance in Sunday's blowout win, leading all players in rebounds and assists while ending two dimes short of a triple-double in just 25 minutes. Nurkic, who was one of four Suns players with a double-digit point total, posted his second game of the season with at least 15 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. His double-double performance marked his second over the last three outings.
Feb 3, 2024
Continuous momentum
Nurkic amassed 14 points (7-9 FG, 0-1 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 23 minutes during Friday's 129-120 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Merkich has compiled 42 points, 20 rebounds and over his last two games, marking a huge rise over the 24 points and 24 rebounds he compiled over a four-game stretch prior. His ability to chip in as a defensive playmaker and secondary facilitator adds versatility to his floor, so his buy-low window is closing now that he has returned to being active in the scoring column.
Feb 1, 2024
Snaps scoring slump Wednesday
Nurkic registered 28 points (11-15 FG, 6-9 FT), 11 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and one steal in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 136-120 win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic entered the contest in the midst of a downturn offensively, as he had failed to top eight points over his previous eight games. However, the big man took advantage of an undersized Brooklyn squad Wednesday, finishing with 28 efficient points for his second-highest scoring total of the campaign. In addition, Nurkic's 11 boards led all players in the contest and were part of his 15th double-double of the season.
Jan 29, 2024
Good to go Monday
Nurkic (thumb) is active Monday versus the Heat, Kellan Olson of ArizonaSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will return from a one-game absence to square off against Bam Adebayo in Miami on Monday. He has averaged a quiet 6.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists across his last three games.
Jan 29, 2024
Officially a game-gime decision
Nurkic (thumb) will be a game-time decision for Monday's game against Miami.
ANALYSIS
Nurmic is at risk of missing his second consecutive game due to a left thumb sprain. Drew Eubanks would likely draw another start if the 29-year-old can't suit up
Jan 29, 2024
Questionable for Monday
Nurkic (thumb) is questionable for Monday's game against the Heat, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.comreports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was unable to play Sunday against the Magic, but he remains day-to-day. Drew Eubanks saw 29 minutes of action Sunday in Nurkic's absence, scoring four points (2-2 FG) with eight rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.
Jan 28, 2024
Ruled out Sunday
Nurkic (thumb) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Magic, Suns' sideline reporter Amanda Pflugrad reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic left Friday's loss to Indiana early due to the injury and was deemed questionable for Sunday. The big man will turn his sights on preparing for Monday's matchup in Miami, while Drew Eubanks, Chimezie Metu and Udoka Azubuike are candidates for increased roles versus Orlando.
Jan 27, 2024
Officially questionable
Nurkic (thumb) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Magic, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic exited Friday's game after sustaining a sprained left thumb, and he'll be at risk of missing his third game of the season Sunday. If that's the case, Drew Eubanks and Chimezie Metu would likely see more minutes.
Jan 27, 2024
X-rays negative on thumb
Nurkic said after Friday's 133-131 loss to the Pacers that X-rays on his injured left thumb returned negative, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was forced out early in Friday's loss, finishing the game with two points (1-3 FG), five assists, four rebounds and three steals in 20 minutes. Fortunately for Nurkic, he isn't dealing with any structural damage and is merely nursing a jammed thumb heading into Sunday's game in Orlando. He can be viewed as questionable for that contest until the Suns release their next updated injury report.
Jan 26, 2024
Will not return Friday
Nurkic will not return to Friday's game against the Pacers due to a left thumb injury. He finished with two points (1-3 FG), four rebounds, five assists and three steals in 20 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is a key part of Phoenix's frontcourt, so it would be a big loss if he's forced to miss more time. For now, he should be considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Magic since the severity of the injury is not known. Drew Eubanks and Chimezie Metu could see more run if Nurkic is unable to play Sunday.
Jan 17, 2024
Records another double-double
Nurkic contributed 10 points (4-5 FG, 2-2 FT), 15 rebounds, three assists and one block over 27 minutes during Tuesday's 119-117 victory over Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has been a steady presence down low for the Suns and has started every game outside of the two contests he missed in December due to personal reasons. He has five double-doubles over his last 10 games while averaging 13.5 points and 11.2 rebounds per game in that span.
Jan 8, 2024
Hauls in 19 rebounds
Nurkic finished Sunday's 121-115 loss to the Grizzlies with 18 points (8-17 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-3 FT), 19 rebounds, five assists and one block over 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic posted single-digit scoring and rebound totals in his last two appearances, but he bounced back with a strong double-double during Sunday's defeat. Despite his recent cold stretch, the 29-year-old has secured double-digit boards in nine of his last 12 outings and has averaged 14.2 points 13.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 28.0 minutes per game across that span.
Jan 1, 2024
Records double-double in win
Nurkic logged 19 points (8-17 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 13 rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes during Sunday's 112-107 victory over Orlando.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic returned to action three games ago following a two-game absence due to personal reasons, and he's been outstanding down low for the Suns, tallying two double-doubles and recording at least 10 boards in every outing in that span. His scoring contributions will be secondary in a star-driven offense where Devin Booker and Kevin Durant lead the way, but Nurkic will remain valuable across all formats while being deployed as a two-way center in a starting role.
Dec 30, 2023
Huge double-double in win
Nurkic notched 24 points (10-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 15 rebounds, one assist and two blocks across 28 minutes during Friday's 133-119 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic got back on track in the win, delivering his 10th double-double of the season. He has grabbed double-digit boards in seven straight games, as he continues to play some of his best basketball in recent memory. He has been a great fit in Phonix, averaging 12.4 points per game, adding 10.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.2 blocks. The return of Bradley Beal is likely to impact what Nurkic can do in terms of scoring the basketball. However, he should remain a top 70 player moving forward, a nice return on investment for anyone who managed to grab him in the later rounds of drafts.
Dec 28, 2023
Only 14 minutes in return
Nurkic chipped in eight points (3-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds and two blocks over 14 minutes during Wednesday's 129-113 win over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic returned from a two-game absence, logging 14 minutes in the win. He picked up a couple of early fouls and then remained on the bench as the Suns stuck with a lineup that was getting things done. This was merely a perfect storm in terms of Nurkic being limited, meaning managers should have nothing to worry about moving forward. Look for him to get back on track in a favorable matchup against the Hornets on Friday.
Dec 27, 2023
Available Wednesday
Nurkic (personal) is available for Wednesday's game in Houston.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Nurkic has been upgraded from probable to available and will return to action following a two-game absence due to personal reasons. Across nine December appearances, Nurkic is averaging 14.6 points, 12.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.9 blocks in 30.1 minutes per game. He shouldn't face any restrictions during Wednesday's contest.
Dec 26, 2023
Probable to return Wednesday
Nurkic (personal) is probable to return for Wednesday's game against the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
This is a great news for a Phoenix team that has been without their starting center for the past two games. Nurkic will presumably be back in the starting lineup where he will be matched up against Alperen Sengun. Through nine December contests, Nurkic has averaged 14.6 points, 12.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.9 blocks and 1.0 steals.
Dec 24, 2023
Will miss Christmas game
Nurkic (personal) is out for Monday's game against Dallas, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will miss his second consecutive game, which mark his only two absences of the season thus far. He is expected to rejoin the team Tuesday. Udoka Azubuike logged a double-double Friday against Sacramento in his first court time since Nov. 5, but Drew Eubanks with doses of Chimezie Metu are in line to hold down the center position for Phoenix on Monday.
Dec 21, 2023
Out for personal reasons
Nurkic will not play in Friday's game against the Kings due to personal reasons.
ANALYSIS
With Nurkic away from the team, the Suns will need to rely on Drew Eubanks and Chimezie Metu in the frontcourt. They could also choose to roll with some smaller lineups. Nurkic has had a strong December, posting averages of 14.6 points, 12.1 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 0.9 blocks. It's unclear if he'll be back for Monday's game against Dallas on Christmas.
Dec 20, 2023
Loses duel against former team
Nurkic totaled nine points (4-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals over 31 minutes during Tuesday's 109-104 loss to the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
In the battle of former centers, Deandre Ayton came up with the better number, besting Nurkic in the loss despite his solid rebounding total. The Suns looked a little out of sync in the contest, and the team's ability to get the ball inside to Nurkic was limited by an impressive defensive showing from Portland.
Dec 16, 2023
Records double-double in loss
Nurkic closed Friday's 139-122 loss to New York with 21 points (9-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and one steal across 30 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic extended his double-double streak to three games in the loss, finding success against Jericho Sims and Isaiah Hartenstein in the frontcourt. Nurkic will usually succeed when the backcourt can get him the ball inside, and Jordan Goodwin helped that effort with nine assists after Bradley Beal (ankle) exited the game.
Dec 14, 2023
Dominates on glass in loss
Nurkic chipped in 15 points (7-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 22 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 116-112 loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Wednesday was a significant day for Phoenix with Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal taking the court together for the first time in the regular season, but Nurkic served up a reminder that he's an integral part of the the team as well. The big man finished third on the Suns in scoring and pulled a team-high 22 boards, outrebounding the rest of the team's starting lineup combined. It was the first time this season that Nurkic has grabbed 20 or more boards, and his total tally of 22 rebounds was one shy of his career-best mark set on New Year's Day in 2019 against Sacramento while a member of the Trail Blazers.
Dec 13, 2023
Records double-double in win
Nurkic produced 17 points (3-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 10-11 FT), 13 rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 31 minutes during Tuesday's 119-116 win over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Although Nurkic appeared to sustain an injury in the third quarter, he quickly returned to action and showed no ill effects. Nurkic's play has definitely helped the Suns amid Kevin Durant's (ankle) absence, with an average of 16 points and 11 rebounds over the past two games.
Dec 9, 2023
Scores 15 points in loss
Nurkic closed with 15 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-4 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one steal in 30 minutes during Friday's 114-106 loss to the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic did take a shot to the face which prompted a quick concussion check in the locker room, but he returned a few minutes later and seemed fine. Nurkic had more on his plate offensively Friday with Kevin Durant (ankle) sitting out, and his fantasy managers will be glad to see that he bounced back after he was held to three points in 29 minutes Tuesday against the Lakers.
Dec 3, 2023
Sniffs double-double
Nurkic accumulated 14 points (6-18 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals in 26 minutes before fouling out of Saturday's 116-109 win over Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic ended just one rebound away from a double-double in this one, and that certainly salvaged his fantasy outing in a game where his shot just wasn't falling. Nurkic has done a good job of embracing a bigger role on offense whenever Bradley Beal (back), Eric Gordon (knee) or Devin Booker have missed time, and he's enjoying a solid campaign so far. He's scored in double digits in six of his last nine contests.
Dec 2, 2023
Scores season-high mark, fouls out
Nurkic amassed 31 points (13-22 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one block across 33 minutes before fouling out of Friday's 119-111 loss to Denver.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was excellent on both ends of the court and did a good job dealing with Nikola Jokic, but he fouled out late in the fourth quarter when he was handed a flagrant foul for an apparent elbow to the face on Jokic. Nurkic was impressive nonetheless, and he didn't have problems handling a more prominent role on offense with both Devin Booker (ankle) and Bradley Beal (back) sidelined. He might be in line for another busy outing when facing the Grizzlies on Saturday.
Nov 30, 2023
Double-double in Wednesday's loss
Nurkic registered 19 points (8-12 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 14 rebounds, six assists and two blocks across 30 minutes during Wednesday's 112-105 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
It's the sixth double-double of the season for Nurkic, but he's grabbed double-digit boards in five of the last six games. He seems to be getting comfortable in a Phoenix jersey, and since Nov. 17 the veteran center is averaging 13.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.0 blocks while shooting 58.1 percent from the floor and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line.
Nov 25, 2023
Solid all-around effort
Nurkic logged six points (2-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 10 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and two steals across 33 minutes during Friday's 110-89 win over the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic failed to score in double digits for the second straight contest, but the big man has adjusted his game enough to remain relevant even when holding a secondary role on offense. His underrated ability to fill the stat sheet has been massive for the Suns, and the numbers back that up. Over his last five games, Nurkic is averaging 13.2 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.6 blocks and 1.0 steals per contest.
Nov 22, 2023
Double-doubles against former team
Nurkic produced 18 points (7-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 12 rebounds, four blocks and one steal across 29 minutes during Tuesday's 120-107 win over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic and Deandre Ayton faced off against their former teams Tuesday evening, and they fought to a virtual stalemate. Nurkic ended the evening with a slight rebound advantage over Ayton while logging his fifth double-double of the season. Nurkic also posted a season high with four blocked shots.
Nov 20, 2023
Double-doubles against Jazz
Nurkic had 18 points (7-11 FG, 4-4 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal over 35 minutes during Sunday's 140-137 double-overtime win over Utah.
ANALYSIS
This was the fourth double-double of the season for Nurkic. He was in a slump coming into Sunday's game, so it's good to see him get back on track. In his previous three contests, he averaged just 7.0 points and 6.6 rebounds.
Nov 16, 2023
Minimal role in victory
Nurkic contributed three points (1-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt), five rebounds and four assists across 24 minutes during Wednesday's 133-115 victory over Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic struggled to score in his matchup with Rudy Gobert during Wednesday's win. Fortunately for the Suns, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker led the way with 31 points each. Nurkic has now recorded just three points in back-to-back contests.
Nov 9, 2023
Massive game against Bulls
Nurkic totaled 20 points (8-16 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 17 rebounds, eight assists and two steals across 38 minutes during Wednesday's 116-115 overtime win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic endured a slow start to life in Phoenix but broke out in a big way here, posting season-high numbers in points, rebounds and assists as the Suns escaped with the win against Chicago. This was the first time Nurkic reached the 15-point mark in 2023-24, and while he's capable of putting up solid numbers regularly, this is likely to have been an outlier rather than anything else, since he's expected to hold a secondary role on offense in the future, especially now that Bradley Beal is back from injury.
Nov 4, 2023
Inefficiency continues
Nurkic finished Saturday's 112-100 loss to Philadelphia with 11 points (4-14 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal across 23 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic operated in a far larger role Saturday after attempting just five shots on Thursday. His involvement was a focal point for Phoenix amid absences for Devin Booker (foot) and Bradley Beal (back). Shooting 38.0 percent from the field and 20.0 percent from beyond the arc through six games marks a distinct failure to capitalize on the enlarged opportunity, but compiling a 17:4 AST:TO ratio over his last four games is a silver lining indicative of the connective role that Nurkic can have when Phoenix is healthy.
Nov 1, 2023
Records double-double
Nurkic provided 12 points (4-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 12 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal in 30 minutes during Tuesday's 115-114 loss to the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic struggled with the length of Victor Wembanyama and the physicality of Zach Collins, and that led him to a subpar shooting performance, but the big man still made his presence felt after grabbing double-digit boards and swatting multiple shots for the first time in 2023-24. Nurkic is not going to bring a ton on offense since the scheme is not designed for him, but he will remain valuable in fantasy if he can keep producing near the rim. He has two double-doubles in four outings.
Oct 25, 2023
Nabs double-double in debut
Nurkic finished with 14 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 14 rebounds, three assists and one block in 28 minutes Wednesday in the Suns' 108-104 win over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
One of the pieces returned to Phoenix in the blockbuster three-team trade in September that sent Damian Lillard to Milwaukee, Nurkic settled in as the Suns' starting center in his team debut. While handling the role that used to belong to Deandre Ayton -- who was moved to Portland in that same three-team trade -- Nurkic led both teams in rebounds and turned in an efficient shooting performance from all three levels of the court. So long as he's healthy, Nurkic looks as though he'll continue to hold the playing-time edge over backup Drew Eubanks (19 minutes) at center, though injuries are an annual concern for the burly seven-foot, 290-pound Bosnian big man. Nurkic hasn't played more than 56 games in any of the past four seasons.
Oct 19, 2023
Starting in final preseason contest
Nurkic (rest) is in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason matchup against the Lakers, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic gets the nod in the final game of the preseason for the Suns, and he has pretty much locked in the role as the starting center, with Drew Eubanks and Bol Bol competing for backup minutes.
Oct 16, 2023
Resting Monday
Nurkic won't play in Monday's preseason game against Portland, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic put together a strong showing in his team's last preseason matchup Thursday (17 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block in 21 minutes), and the Suns will now give Drew Eubanks a look at center. Bol Bol and Chimezie Metu could also see extended minutes with Nurkic getting the night off.
Oct 13, 2023
Near double-double in preseason win
Nurkic totaled 17 points (6-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-5 FT), eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and a blocked shot over 21 minutes versus Portland in a 122-111 preseason victory Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic's 21 minutes were par for the course for an exhibition contest, yet he finished with a full stat line that would be considered strong by regular-season standards. The big man was perhaps motivated by playing against his former team after Portland traded him to the Suns in an offseason deal that netted the Blazers Deandre Ayton, among others. Nurkic figures to see less usage with Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal (back) alongside him in the starting lineup, though the center showed Thursday that he can still contribute in spite of the presence of his star teammates.
Oct 11, 2023
Perfect from charity stripe
Nurkic posted 10 points (1-4 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 8-8 FT), four rebounds, two assists and a steal across 16 minutes in Tuesday's 115-107 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
While Nurkic's night didn't look impressive on paper, he successfully defended one of the league's best players. The former Portland Trail Blazer was all over Nikola Jokic, providing the kind of defensive mettle needed inside after the departure of Deandre Ayton, who took Nurkic's place in Rip City. Nurkic is slated to be the team's starting center, but newcomer Bol Bol is already a crowd favorite and will hear his name chanted often.
Oct 8, 2023
Starts in Suns debut
Nurkic finished Sunday's preseason win over Detroit with five points (2-4 FG, 1-3 FT), five rebounds and three assists in 15 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The Suns' starting five didn't see significant action, but it was nonetheless encouraging that Nurkic got the nod at center, as anticipated. All signs point to Nurkic, who came over from Portland in the Damian Lillard deal, opening the regular season as the starter. When healthy, Nurkic is a proven producer, but he's played in just 52, 56, 37 and eight games over the last four seasons, respectively.
Sep 27, 2023
Headed to Phoenix in Lillard deal
Nurkic was traded to the Suns on Wednesday as part of a three-team deal between Phoenix, Portland and Milwaukee, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The deal also sends Damian Lillard to Milwaukee and Jrue Holiday and Deandre Ayton to Portland.
ANALYSIS
While Lillard and Holiday are the big headliners, Nurkic brings some much-needed big man depth to Phoenix in the wake of Ayton being shipped to Portland in the deal. For the most part, Nurkic has struggled with injuries over the last four seasons, playing 52, 56, 37 and eight games, respectively. When healthy, he's a productive source of points, rebounds and defensive stats, but he'll likely slide in as a secondary piece on a Suns roster that has plenty of offensive firepower.
Apr 9, 2023
Sidelined again Sunday
Nurkic (knee) is listed as out for Sunday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
As anticipated, Nurkic will remain on the bench for the regular-season finale, marking his 10th straight absence to close out the campaign on account of right knee soreness. Before he was shut down, Nurkic appeared in 52 games and averaged 13.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.8 blocks and 0.8 three-pointers in 26.7 minutes per contest.
Apr 7, 2023
Won't play Saturday
Nurkic (knee) is out for Saturday's game versus the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic hasn't played since March 24 due to right knee soreness. At this point, it would be surprising for him to suit up Sunday with the Trail Blazers already eliminated from playoff contention.
Apr 5, 2023
Will remain out Thursday
Nurkic (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's matchup against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will miss an eighth straight game Thursday, and he'll presumably remain sidelined for Portland's final two regular-season games, as well. Drew Eubanks (back) and Trendon Watford (ankle) have both been playing increased roles in Nurkic's absence, but if either of them have to miss time, John Butler and Jabari Walker would be candidates for elevated usage.
Apr 3, 2023
Remains out Tuesday
Nurkic (knee) will not play Tuesday at Memphis.
ANALYSIS
For whatever reason, the Blazers continue to update the statuses of Nurkic, Jerami Grant (quad) and Anfernee Simons (foot) on a game-to-game basis, but all three players are essentially shut down. Tuesday will mark Nurkic's seventh straight absence, and he's highly unlikely to play in any of the team's remaining games this week.
Apr 1, 2023
Out again Sunday
Nurkic (knee) remains out for Sunday's game versus the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic remains part of a hefty injury report for the Trail Blazers, who are looking toward lottery odds rather than playoff chances with just over a week remaining in the regular season. With Nukric out again Drew Eubanks should draw another start at center.
Mar 30, 2023
Still out Friday
Nurkic (knee) will not play in Friday's game against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is part of another lengthy injury report for the Trail Blazers, who have already shut down Damian Lillard (calf) for the season and could consider doing so to Nurkic also. Drew Eubanks should continue to start in Nurkic's place for as long as he remains out.
Mar 28, 2023
Will not play Wednesday
Nurkic (knee) will not play Wednesday against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
The Blazers have already shut down Damian Lillard (calf) for the season, and it's possible that other Blazers could join him soon. With Nurkic among several key players sitting out Wednesday, Drew Eubanks will continue to be the main beneficiary in the frontcourt.
Mar 27, 2023
Ruled out Monday
Nurkic (knee) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will miss a third consecutive game and is one of several starters who will be unable to suit up for the Trail Blazers on Monday. With Trendon Watford (ankle) doubtful, Drew Eubanks should see plenty of run at center against New Orleans.
Mar 25, 2023
Not facing OKC on Sunday
Nurkic (knee) has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is in line to miss a second straight game and his 15th one since the beginning of February. The Blazers are dealing with a plethora of injuries in the frontcourt, so Drew Eubanks and Trendon Watford might have expanded roles Sunday.
Mar 24, 2023
Won't play against Bulls
Nurkic (knee) will not play against the Bulls on Friday, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was previously considered doubtful. The Blazers will be very thin up front, so we could see both Drew Eubanks and Trendon Watford provide some solid fantasy value Friday evening.
Mar 24, 2023
Downgraded to doubtful
Nurkic (knee) is doubtful for Friday's game against the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has been downgraded from questionable to doubtful and will likely be sidelined for the first time since March 6, which was the end of a month-long absence due to a calf injury. If Nurkic is sidelined, Drew Eubanks figures to move back into the starting lineup, while Trendon Watford would also be a candidate for increased minutes off the bench.
Mar 23, 2023
Termed questionable for Friday
Nurkic is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Bulls due to right knee soreness.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic's injury pops up at an unfortunate time, as the big man is coming off of back-to-back 20-point efforts for Portland. He could still take the floor against the Bulls, but it will be worth monitoring his status ahead of the 10 p.m. ET opening tipoff. Drew Eubanks would presumably draw the start if Nurkic can't play.
Mar 20, 2023
All-around outing not enough
Nurkic closed with 23 points (9-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 11 rebounds, five assists and two blocks in 27 minutes during Sunday's 117-102 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic posted his most points, rebounds, assists and blocks since returning from a month-long injury absence March 8. The talented big man has played at least 25 minutes in three straight contests and appears to be on the final stages of his restrictions.
Mar 10, 2023
To have minutes increased Friday
Nurkic will have his minutes increased to an undisclosed amount during Friday's matchup against the 76ers, Aaron J. Fentress of The Oregonian reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic started and played 17 minutes in his return from a 14-game absence Wednesday against the Celtics, and the center will get more run against a tough matchup in Joel Embiid on Friday. When seeing minutes in the 20s this season, Nurkic has averaged 13.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals.
Mar 9, 2023
Scores five in return
Nurkic ended Wednesday's 115-93 loss to Boston with five points (2-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-4 FT), six rebounds and two assists across 17 minutes.
ANALYSIS
After missing about five weeks due to a calf injury, Nurkic returned Wednesday night in limited minutes and scored five points on 33.3 percent shooting. He did manage to grab six boards but otherwise it was a subpar fantasy performance. Overall, he's had a fairly mediocre season and until the veteran big man gets back to relatively normal playing time, the tough times might continue for fantasy managers who have held onto him for this long.
Mar 8, 2023
Will make his return Wednesday
Nurkic (calf) will return to the floor for Wednesday's game against the Celtics, Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
This will be Nurkic's first game back since Feb. 1, so he'll likely be eased back into things, but he's safe to active in season-long settings. His return will likely result in Drew Eubanks heading back to the second unit where he'll lose most of his value and Trendon Watford's minutes could dip.
Mar 7, 2023
Termed questionable for Wednesday
Nurkic (calf) holds a questionable designation for Wednesday's game versus the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic hasn't suited up for a game since Feb. 1 versus Memphis, leaving two minutes into the tilt with a calf issue that's sidelined him since. Nurkic isn't guaranteed to retake the floor against the Celtics, but the questionable designation at least marks a step in the right direction. Drew Eubanks figures to see his role scaled back a bit once Nurkic is cleared to return.
Mar 6, 2023
Remains out Monday
Nurkic (calf) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is slated to miss a 14th straight game due to a left calf strain. Despite the lengthy absence, he remains day-to-day, so his next chance to suit up will come Wednesday in Boston.
Mar 4, 2023
Out Sunday
Nurkic (calf) is out for Sunday's matchup against the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will miss a 13th straight game Sunday. He remains day-to-day, with his next chance to return arriving Monday against the Pistons.
Mar 2, 2023
Sidelined again Friday
Nurkic (calf) remains out for Friday's game versus the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic hasn't logged action in a contest in over a month, and there is no specified target date for his return, though coach Chauncey Billups suggested last week that the big man is "progressing well." Nurkic's next opportunity to take the floor arrives Sunday against the Magic.
Feb 28, 2023
Won't play in back-to-back
Nurkic (calf) is listed as out for Tuesday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Coming out of the All-Star break last week, head coach Chauncey Billups told Sean Highkin of RoseGardenReport.com that Nurkic is "progressing well," but the veteran center still remains without a definitive target date for a return to the court while he recovers from a left calf strain. Given that Tuesday marks the front end of a back-to-back set, Nurkic appears safe to rule out for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans, and he probably won't have a realistic chance at suiting up Friday in Atlanta unless he's able to get in some on-court activity Thursday.
Feb 25, 2023
Still out
Nurkic (calf) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Rockets, Sean Highkin of RoseGardenReport.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will miss a ninth straight game due to a left calf strain. The team continues to say that the big man is making progress, but he still doesn't have a clear return timetable. His next chance to suit up will come Tuesday in Golden State. Drew Eubanks and Trendon Watford should continue to garner increased roles during Nurkic's prolonged absence.
Feb 22, 2023
Progressing but still not ready
Head coach Chauncey Billups said Nurkic (calf) is progressing, but the big man will remain out for Thursday's matchup against the Kings, Sean Highkin of RoseGardenReport.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic missed seven straight games heading into the All-Star break due to a left calf strain and will remain sidelined when Portland resumes action Thursday. His next chance to suit up will come Sunday against the Rockets, but barring a return to practice over the weekend, Nurkic will likely remain out for that contest as well. Drew Eubanks figures to continue drawing starts at center until Nurkic is ready to return.
Feb 3, 2023
Set to sit through All-Star break
Nurkic is in line to be sidelined through the All-Star break after an MRI on Thursday revealed a left calf strain.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic departed Wednesday's game against the Wizards due to the calf strain, and the MRI indicated the big man's issue is severe enough to require some additional time on the sidelines. With Nurkic out of commission, Drew Eubanks and Trendon Watford will likely supply additional minutes moving forward. His first chance to return following the All-Star hiatus arrives Feb. 23 against the Kings.
Feb 2, 2023
Sitting out Friday
Nurkic has been ruled out for Friday's game versus the Wizards due to what's been labeled a left calf strain.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was spotted in a walking boot following Wednesday's game versus the Wizards, so his unavailability isn't a major surprise. The team hasn't placed a timetable on the 28-year-old center's return to action, but his absence Friday figures to open a starting role and extra minutes for Drew Eubanks, who compiled just his second double-double of the season Wednesday following Nurkic's departure. While Saturday versus the Bulls marks Nurkic's next opportunity to retake the floor, it wouldn't be stunning to see the big man take the weekend off.
Feb 2, 2023
Spotted in walking boot Wednesday
Nurkic, who departed in the first quarter of Wednesday's 122-112 win over the Grizzlies with a sore left calf, was spotted in a walking boot following the game, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The fact that Nurkic was in a walking boot doesn't necessarily foreshadow a long-term absence, but the 28-year-old center at least appears likely to miss Friday's game in Washington following his latest setback with the left calf. Just one week earlier, Nurkic was removed from the Trail Blazers' 134-124 win over the Jazz with the same injury, then proceeded to miss a game before returning to action for Monday's 129-125 win over the Hawks. He lasted just two minutes before exiting in the first quarter Wednesday, paving the way for Drew Eubanks (11 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in 24 minutes) to step in as the Blazers' primary center. Until the Trail Blazers provide an update on his injury, Nurkic can be viewed as unlikely to play Friday in Washington, making Eubanks an appealing streaming option in the short term.
Feb 1, 2023
Will not return Wednesday
Nurkic has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies due to left calf soreness.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was sent to the locker room early in the first quarter of Wednesday's tilt and will not return after re-aggravating a lingering calf issue. The 28-year-old will finish scoreless (0-1 FG), with one rebound and one assist across two minutes of play. His next chance to suit up will come against the Wizards on Friday in the first leg of a back-to-back set.
Feb 1, 2023
Heads to locker room
Nurkic exited Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies with an unspecified injury, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic came into Wednesday's tilt as probable with left calf soreness. It's unclear whether he re-aggravated the injury or if his exit is unrelated. Regardless, Nurkic should be considered questionable to return.
Feb 1, 2023
Available Wednesday
Nurkic (calf) is available Wednesday against the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was probable ahead of Wednesday's matchup, and he'll unsurprisingly be able to suit up against Memphis. He's scored in double figures in three consecutive appearances and has averaged 15.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals in 23.7 minutes per game during that time.
Jan 31, 2023
Likely to play against Memphis
Nurkic is probable for Wednesday's game versus the Grizzlies due to left calf soreness.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is expected to play in his second straight game after missing Saturday's contest against the Raptors with a calf injury. The 28-year-old big man is averaging 10.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 22.2 minutes across his last five appearances.
Jan 31, 2023
Gets 26 minutes in return
Nurkic (calf) played 26 minutes and finished with 12 points (5-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in Monday's 129-125 win over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic missed just one game on account of the calf injury he suffered in last Wednesday's win over the Jazz. He took back his spot in the starting five from Drew Eubanks on Monday and ended up seeing the larger share of the playing time between the two centers, though only by four minutes. Even before picking up the calf injury, Nurkic hadn't surpassed 29 minutes in any of his prior five outings, so while Nurkic remains Portland's clear top option at center, Eubanks appears to be encroaching on his role a bit.
Jan 30, 2023
Cleared to play
Nurkic (calf) is available for Monday's game against Atlanta, Aaron J. Fentress of The Oregonian reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will take the floor Monday evening after missing Saturday's clash due to a calf injury. He's coming off a sluggish performance Wednesday against the Jazz when he posted 10 points, four rebounds and four assists in 18 minutes.
Jan 29, 2023
Questionable against Atlanta
Nurkic (calf) is questionable for Monday's game against Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic sustained a calf injury Wednesday against the Jazz and was unavailable for Saturday's game against the Raptors. If he's sidelined once again, Trendon Watford and Drew Eubanks would likely continue to see increased run.
Jan 28, 2023
Out vs. Raptors
Nurkic (calf) is out for Saturday's game against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
The Trail Blazers will be missing two of their five starters, as Nurkic and Josh Hart (hamstring) are sidelined. Drew Eubanks, Jabari Walker and Trendon Watford are candidates to see more minutes in the frontcourt.
Jan 27, 2023
Listed as questionable
Nurkic (calf) is questionable for Saturday's matchup against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic left Wednesday's matchup against Utah in the third quarter due to left calf soreness and is considered a question mark for Portland's next game. If Nurkic is ultimately ruled out Saturday, Drew Eubanks would be a candidate for increased playing time.
Jan 25, 2023
Will not return Wednesday
Nurkic has been ruled out for the rest of Wednesday's game against the Jazz due to left calf soreness.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic left the game in the third period and will finish the contest with 17 points and five rebounds across 33 minutes. Drew Eubanks and Trendon Watford figure to pick up Nurkic's vacated minutes Wednesday. Nurkic's next chance to play will come Saturday against Toronto.
Jan 24, 2023
Dominates in blowout victory
Nurkic had 25 points (10-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 11 rebounds, seven assists and three steals over 27 minutes during Monday's 147-127 win over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was a dominant force in the win, taking advantage of the fact Jakob Poeltl was in early foul trouble. He feasted on the inside, while also flashing his playmaking skills. It's been an up-and-down few weeks for Nurkic, with managers riding the waves of some questionable performances. While this was certainly a favorable matchup. perhaps he can build off this performance, starting Wednesday against the Jazz.
Jan 20, 2023
Productive on boards
Nurkic supplied four points (2-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt), 11 rebounds and one steal in 24 minutes during Thursday's 105-95 loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Although Nurkic was held to a single-digit scoring total for a second consecutive game Thursday, he remained productive on the boards and tied for the team lead with 11 rebounds. He's now logged at least 10 rebounds in seven of his last eight appearances and has averaged 14.3 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 28.8 minutes per game during that time.
Jan 19, 2023
Available Thursday
Nurkic (Calf) will play and start Thursday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was initially tabbed as probable due to soreness in his left calf but as expected, he will play. Nuirkic will look to rebound from a poor outing Tuesday, where he scored just six points on 2-of-9 shooting and turned the ball over four times.
Jan 18, 2023
Likely to play Thursday
Nurkic is probable for Thursday's game versus the 76ers due to left calf tightness.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic's calf injury doesn't appear to be serious, as he is still expected to play Thursday. The 28-year-old big man is averaging 16.4 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals in last five games.
Jan 18, 2023
Falls flat in loss
Nurkic closed Tuesday's 122-113 loss to the Nuggets with six points (2-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 29 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Coming into the contest, Nurkic had scored in double figures in seven straight games and had notched three 20-plus-point performances during that stretch. However, he struggled to generate any offense against Nikola Jokic and posted his 10th single-digit scoring outing of the campaign. He was able to somewhat salvage his fantasy production by grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds, but fantasy managers are expecting more out of a high-caliber center like Nurkic. Across 39 games, the veteran big man is averaging 14.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 28.5 minutes, so it's safe to chalk Tuesday's performance up to an off night. Nurkic will look to get back on track Thursday against the 76ers.
Jan 16, 2023
Scores 20 points Sunday
Nurkic amassed 20 points (5-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 8-8 FT), four rebounds and four assists over 20 minutes during Sunday's 140-123 victory over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic only logged 20 minutes due to the blowout nature of the contest, but the veteran big man still played a huge role for the Blazers. He has now scored at least 20 points in three of his last four outings and is on a run of seven straight double-digit scoring games, averaging 16.3 points per game in that span.
Jan 15, 2023
Secures double-double in win
Nurkic provided 22 points (9-15 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and one steal across 23 minutes during Saturday's 136-119 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic increased his double-double streak to five games, and he's averaged 16.8 points, 14.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 steals since the beginning of that run. If Dallas' frontcourt absences continue, Nurkic could be in line for another excellent total against the Mavericks Sunday.
Jan 11, 2023
Strong two-way effort Tuesday
Nurkic supplied 22 points (7-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-9 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and four steals in 31 minutes during Tuesday's 109-106 loss to Orlando.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was dominant on both ends of the floor despite the loss, notching a double-double with six combined steals and blocks. That makes three double-doubles in succession, a good indication that he is over his recent illness. He has also played more than 30 minutes in each of the past three games, a welcome sight for fantasy managers frustrated with his inconsistent playing time earlier in the season. As long as he continues to see ample playing time, he should be a solid mid-round asset ROS.
Jan 10, 2023
Clear to play Tuesday
Nurkic (illness) is available for Tuesday's game against the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was considered probable due to a non-COVID illness, which ultimately won't affect his availability for Tuesday's contest. The 28-year-old has averaged 13.8 points, 12.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.6 blocks across his past five games.
Jan 9, 2023

Posts double-double while banged up
Nurkic chipped in 14 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 18 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 38 minutes during Sunday's 117-105 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic notched a double-double despite being probable entering the game with a non-COVID-19-related illness. Nurkic led the team in rebounds, while finishing as one of five players in double figures in scoring. He has posted a double-double in two straight outings.
Jan 8, 2023
Good to go Sunday
Nurkic (illness) will start at center in Sunday's game in Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was tabbed as probable heading into the day due to a non-COVID-19-related illness, but he'll get the green light to play after he apparently checked out fine during pregame warmups. Though his playing time has been all over the map of late, Nurkic should have a fairly clear path to a 30-plus-minute role Sunday so long as he can avoid foul trouble.
Jan 7, 2023
Likely to play against Toronto
Nurkic is probable to play in Sunday's game versus the Raptors due to a non-COVID illness.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic should remain in the starting lineup Sunday, as he has in all 33 of his appearances this season. The 28-year-old big man is averaging 9.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 steals in 24.0 minutes across his last three outings.
Jan 6, 2023

Nurkic chipped in 14 points (6-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 19 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 33 minutes during Friday's 108-99 loss to Indiana.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic pulled in a season-high 19 rebounds Friday night, earning him his second double-double in four games. He's having some trouble with his shot lately though, as this was his third straight game shooting less than 50 percent from the field. The veteran big man has had a bit of an up-and-down year overall but is still contributing solid defensive stats to go along with his 14.2 points and 9.8 boards per game.
Jan 6, 2023
Available Friday
Nurkic (illness) is available Friday against Indiana, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS

Jan 3, 2023
Exits early Monday
Nurkic exited Monday's 135-106 win over Detroit early due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
With the Blazers up big entering halftime, the team didn't have any concerns as to ruling out their center for the remainder of the matchup Monday. Nurkic posted three points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 14 minutes before leaving with an illness. Looking ahead, Nurkic will presumably be deemed questionable for Wednesday's contest against Minnesota if, indeed, he still has the illness.
Jan 2, 2023
Available Monday
Nurkic (illness) is available for Monday's contest against Detroit, Danny Marang of 1080 The Fan Portland reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing Portland's previous contest, Nurkic will officially make his return to the court for Monday's matchup against Detroit. Jan 1, 2023
Game-time call for Monday
Nurkic (illness) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS

Nurkic has been playing well of late, scoring in double digits in seven straight games while racking up two double-doubles and shooting 56.3 percent from three-point range in that span.
Dec 30, 2022
Ruled out Friday
Nurkic will miss Friday's contest against the Warriors with a non-COVID illness.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was initially listed as probable with a lingering calf issue that he had played through in each of the previous three games but was downgraded to questionable mid-day Friday. However, it will be an illness that holds him out of the game that presumably was also the cause for his downgrade. Drew Eubanks will likely get the starting nod in his place. Nurkic's next chance to play will come Monday against Detroit.
Dec 30, 2022
Downgraded to questionable
Nurkic (calf) has been downgraded to questionable for Friday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was initially listed as probable for Friday's matchup, but his new designation creates more uncertainty regarding his status for the game. He's appeared in the last three matchups and has averaged 17.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 26.7 minutes per game during that time.
Dec 29, 2022
Back on injury report
Nurkic is probable for Friday's game against Golden State due to right calf soreness.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has been able to play in his team's last three contests since returning from a calf injury, so he appears to be in a good place to suit up Friday evening. The team should bring confirmation of his availability closer to tipoff.
Dec 27, 2022
Crushes Hornets in dominant effort
Nurkic amassed 28 points (8-12 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 7-10 FT), 15 rebounds, six assists, three blocks and two steals in 36 minutes during Monday's 124-113 win over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic had easily his best game of the season Monday, and in fact, possibly one of the best games of his entire career. Continuing the trend of centers dominating against the Hornets, Nurkic was able to have his way on both ends of the floor. He is a top-80 talent thus far this season, right around where he was being drafted. Barring injury, managers should feel relatively comfortable with his role moving forward.
Dec 26, 2022
Active Monday

Dec 20, 2022
Questionable Wednesday
Nurkic (calf) is questionable to play in Wednesday's matchup with the Thunder.

Dec 19, 2022
Out Monday
Nurkic (calf) is out for Monday's contest against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
After starting 17 consecutive games for the Trail Blazers, Nurkic will officially miss his fourth contest of the season Monday. Drew Eubanks figures to enter Portland's starting lineup in Nurkic's place. Nurkic's next chance to take the floor comes Wednesday during a rematch against Oklahoma City.
Dec 19, 2022
Downgraded to questionable
Nurkic (calf) has been downgraded to questionable for Monday's matchup against Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was initially listed as probable with right calf soreness, but he's since been downgraded to questionable, which is never a good sign. The talented big man will presumably go through warmups before the team makes a decision on his availability, but if Nurkic is sidelined, Drew Eubanks, Trendon Watford, Justise Winslow and Greg Brown would be candidates for increased minutes.
Dec 18, 2022
Expected to play Monday
Nurkic has been listed as probable for Monday's game against the Thunder due to right calf soreness.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic racked up 14 points (6-11 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one block across 27 minutes during Saturday's 107-95 victory over the Rockets, and the probable tag means the big man shouldn't have major issues suiting up for Monday's contest. Nurkic is averaging 15.3 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game in December.
Dec 18, 2022
Puts up double figures
Nurkic racked up 14 points (6-11 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one block across 27 minutes during Saturday's 107-95 victory over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS

Dec 11, 2022
Secures 15 boards in win
Nurkic ended with eight points (3-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 15 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 26 minutes during Saturday's 124-118 win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic had a quiet night offensively, recording his lowest shot-attempt total in over a month. However, he was a beast on the boards, pulling down 15 rebounds -- two short of his season-best mark. Nurkic also swatted two shots in the contest and has recorded at least one block in eight straight games.
Dec 4, 2022
Records another double-double
Nurkic produced 15 points (6-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-6 FT), 14 rebounds, four assists and one block over 39 minutes during Saturday's 116-111 win over Utah.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is not likely to operate as Portland's main scoring threat unless they are seriously depleted, but he continues to thrive even if he holds a secondary role on offense. The veteran big man has three double-doubles across his last four outings and is also on a run of eight double-digit scoring outings across his last 10 games. He's averaging 15.5 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 0.9 blocks per game in that span.
Dec 1, 2022
Struggles with shot in loss
Nurkic provided eight points (2-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 32 minutes during Wednesday's 128-109 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was held under 10 field-goal attempts for the first time since Nov. 17, and he shot just 25 percent from the floor Wednesday to snap a streak of seven consecutive double-digit scoring performances. However, the 28-year-old remained consistent on the boards and posted double-digit rebounds for the fourth time in the last six games. During that stretch, he's averaged 16.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 32.7 minutes per game.
Nov 30, 2022
Sniffs triple-double in loss
Nurkic ended Tuesday's 118-112 loss to the Clippers with 13 points (6-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt), 10 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks across 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic ended just three assists shy of delivering a triple-double, and while he needed 15 shots to score 13 points, he still posted a solid stat line and made his presence felt on both ends of the court. Nurkic has scored in double digits in seven games in a row, averaging 17.6 points per game while posting three double-doubles in that span.
Nov 27, 2022
Grabs 14 rebounds in loss
Nurkic contributed 17 points (6-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-8 FT), 14 rebounds, four assists and one block in 34 minutes during Sunday's 111-97 loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic recorded a double-double in the second half as 10 of his boards and 12 of his points came after halftime. It was his sixth double-double of the season and he's now averaging 10.0 rebounds per contest. Since returning from a thigh injury Nov. 15, he's scored 17.0 points and grabbed 8.1 rebounds per game while making 56.8 percent of his shot attempts in seven appearances.
Nov 17, 2022
Active Thursday

ANALYSIS
Nurkic was listed as questionable for the Trail Blazers' matchup on Tuesday but he ultimately ended up playing and logging 15 minutes. The big man will once again be available but could see limited minutes once again. Expect Drew Eubanks to see extended minutes if Nurkic faces any setbacks.
Nov 16, 2022
Questionable Thursday
Nurkic (thigh) is questionable for Thursday's game against Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was also tabbed questionable for Tuesday's game against the Spurs, but the center was able to return from a three-game absence and posted nine points and five rebounds in 15 minutes. Barring any major setbacks before tipoff then, Nurkic will likely make his second straight start Thursday.
Nov 16, 2022
Modest production in return
Nurkic supplied nine points (4-9 FG, 1-2 FT), five rebounds and one assist in 15 minutes during Tuesday's 117-110 victory over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic returned to action Tuesday following a three-game absence due to a thigh injury, but despite drawing the start, the big man played a season-low 15 minutes. He was aggressive during his limited action and should get back to his usual 25-30 minutes per game during Thursday's matchup against Brooklyn.
Nov 15, 2022
Starts Tuesday
Nurkic is in the starting five for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic missed the Trail Blazer's last three games due to a thigh injury. Nurkic's return will move Drew Eubanks back to the bench, who started in his place while the 28-year-old big man was out.

Nov 14, 2022
Questionable Tuesday
Nurkic (thigh) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Spurs, Sean Highkin of RoseGardenReport.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has been tabbed questionable for each of the past three games and was later ruled out for every one of them. Thus, it's still unclear if the center will be able to play or will remain out for a fourth straight matchup.
Nov 12, 2022
Not playing Saturday
Nurkic (thigh) is out for Saturday's game against the Mavericks, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was originally a game-time decision for this contest, but he couldn't recover in time and now he'll miss a third straight game. Drew Eubanks should remain in the lineup as his replacement, and Nurkic's next chance to feature will come Tuesday at home against the Spurs.
Nov 11, 2022
Questionable Saturday
Nurkic (thigh) is questionable for Saturday's game at Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has missed the past two games. Drew Eubanks has started in Nurkic's stead and could do so again Saturday.
Nov 10, 2022
Out Thursday
Nurkic (thigh) will miss Thursday's meeting with the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Thursday will mark Nurkic's second straight absence due to right adductor soreness, which will allow for Drew Eubanks to enter the starting lineup yet again. Eubanks recorded 14 points, eight rebounds and three blocks across 22 minutes in his start on Wednesday.
Nov 10, 2022
Questionable at New Orleans
Nurkic (thigh) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic sat out Wednesday's game against the Hornets. Drew Eubanks started in his absence and would presumably do so again if Nurkic is out on the second half of the back-to-back set. Damian Lillard (calf) has already been ruled out, while Jerami Grant (ankle) is questionable.
Nov 9, 2022

Nov 9, 2022
Downgraded to questionable
Nurkic (thigh) has been downgraded to questionable for Wednesday's matchup against Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was initially listed as probable due to right adductor soreness, but he's been downgraded to questionable, putting his status for Wednesday's contest in serious doubt. If the big man is sidelined, Drew Eubanks, Trendon Watford and Greg Brown would all be candidates for increased roles.
Nov 8, 2022
Deemed probable Wednesday
Nurkic is considered probable for Wednesday's game against Charlotte because of right adductor soreness.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic's designation doesn't seem to be much to worry about, considering four of the five starters hold probable designations for the upcoming contest. Barring a downgrade in his status, expect Nurkic to maintain his starting spot Wednesday.
Nov 3, 2022
Posts double-double in loss
Nurkic finished with 23 points (8-14 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists and one steal over 35 minutes during Wednesday's 111-106 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was dominant in the first half, posting 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting while corralling six rebounds. He slowed down a bit as a scorer after halftime but still finished with his second straight double-double. Nurkic's scoring has been inconsistent this season, but his rebounding hasn't -- he's pulled down at least seven boards in each of Portland's first seven contests and is tied for third in the league with 12.3 rebounds per game.
Oct 29, 2022
Prolific production in win
Nurkic notched 27 points (12-17 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 15 rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one steal across 32 minutes during Friday's 125-111 win over Houston.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic put together his best game of the season, up against an inexperienced Rockets frontcourt. After a couple of sub-par performances, managers have to be thrilled with the numbers he put up in this one, reminding everyone just what he can do on a basketball court. Unfortunately, the Trail Blazers don't play again until Wednesday, meaning he will have to maintain his momentum away from the court.
Oct 25, 2022
Productive despite poor shooting
Nurkic recorded 13 points (4-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-7 FT), 12 rebounds, six assists and one block across 35 minutes during Monday's 135-110 victory over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was more aggressive than usual on offense, putting up a season-high 12 shots. He got only four of those to fall but made up for the poor shooting with a dogged effort on the defensive end, helping to hold reigning MVP Nikola Jokic to just nine points. The big man also dished a season-high six assists and grabbed 12 boards to finish with this third straight double-double. Nurkic's fantasy value is limited by modest scoring and below-average shot-blocking for his position, but he's been a major asset on the boards this season, ranking fifth in the league with 12.3 rebounds per contest.
Oct 22, 2022
Masterful double-double in OT win
Nurkic registered 20 points (6-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 8-9 FT), 17 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 35 minutes during Friday's 113-111 overtime victory over Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic allowed Deandre Ayton to score 26 points, but Portland's big man won the defensive battle by a mile with 17 rebounds on the evening. Saturday was a great bounce-back for Nurkic, who opened up the season with a tepid stat line against the Kings. The team is hoping for an injury-free season out of Nurkic, who has only appeared in 60 games over the past two seasons.
Oct 10, 2022
Flirts with double-double Sunday
Nurkic contributed 14 points (4-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 6-6 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and one block in 22 minutes during Sunday's preseason defeat.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic looked good in the loss, reassuring those who have decided to put their faith in the oft-injured center. After a rough couple of years, Nurkic looks fully healthy and ready to contribute. While people are somewhat hesitant to trust his body, he makes for a viable upside target later in drafts, once the elite bigs are off the table.

Good to go for training camp
Nurkic (foot) will be available for training camp, Danny Marang of BlazersEdge.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was shut down for the second half of the 2021-22 campaign as he recovered from plantar fasciitis, but as expected, he'll be full go for the 2022-23 campaign after re-signing with Portland via a four-year, $70 million deal. Across 56 games last year, the big man averaged 15.0 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals across 28.2 minutes per contest.

Nurkic (foot) and the Trail Blazers agreed to terms Friday on a four-year, $70 million contract, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was shut down for the second half of the 2021-22 season as he recovered from plantar fasciitis, but he's expected to be back at full strength for 2022-23. After re-signing with the Trail Blazers on Friday, Nurkic figures to retain his role as the team's starting center for the foreseeable future. In 56 games last season, the big man averaged 15.0 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals across 28.2 minutes per contest.
Mar 28, 2022
Ruled out for rest of season
Nurkic (foot) will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season.
ANALYSIS
No surprise here, as the big man has not played since Feb. 16 and the Blazers only have eight games remaining in their regular season schedule. Nurkic is said to be progressing well in his recovery from plantar fasciitis, and the free-agent-to-be should be back at full strength for the start of next season. Nurkic will close 2021-22 with averages of 15.0 points (53.5% FG, 26.8% 3Pt, 69.0% FT), a career-high 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
Feb 23, 2022
Out at least four weeks
Nurkic will be sidelined for at least four weeks after being diagnosed with left foot plantar fasciitis, NBA writer Marc Stein reports.
ANALYSIS
This is a huge blow for the Blazers, who currently occupy the last play-in spot in the Western Conference. During Portland's four-game winning streak leading into the All-Star break, Nurkic averaged 21.5 points, 14.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 32.5 minutes, including a season-high 32 points (12-17 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 7-10 FT) during a 123-119 win over the Grizzlies. In his absence, Trendon Watford, who was recently upgraded to a standard NBA contract, and 10-day signee Drew Eubanks are the only healthy centers on the roster, so it's possible the Blazers will be in the market for additional frontcourt depth.

Pours in season-high 32 points
Nurkic ended Wednesday's 123-119 win over the Grizzlies with 32 points (12-17 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 7-10 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 34 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was a man on a mission Wednesday, guiding the Trail Blazers to an upset victory. Despite coming up against a sizeable opposition, Nurkic reminded everyone just what he is capable of when firing on all cylinders. After a subdued start to the season, things have been trending in the right direction over the past month. With the team entering a rebuilding phase, Nurkic should be able to take a step up in the offensive rotation, lifting his overall fantasy upside.
Feb 14, 2022
Double-double train keeps chugging
Nurkic ended Monday's 122-107 victory over the Bucks with 23 points (7-16 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 7-8 FT), 16 rebounds, four assists and one steal in 30 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic turned in yet another strong showing Monday evening as he secured his seventh straight double-double. He's also shown his ability to distribute the basketball of late, averaging 3.7 dimes over his last seven contests, which is a noticeable increase from his season average of 2.8 assists over 55 games.
Feb 13, 2022
Pulls down 20 boards in win
Nurkic closed Saturday's 112-103 win over the Knicks with 12 points (5-10 FG, 2-2 FT), 20 rebounds and six assists over 33 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The big man continues to feast over the last few weeks, as he's now notched six straight double-doubles. Dating all the way back to Jan. 15 (16 games), Nurkic is averaging 17.3 points, 13.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.8 blocks while shooting 52.2 percent from the field. Portland opted to hold onto him at the deadline, so he should remain a key contributor alongside Anfernee Simons and Josh Hart.
Feb 10, 2022
Double-doubles in victory
Nurkic logged 19 points (8-11 FG, 3-5 FT), 12 rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes during Wednesday's 107-105 victory over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic delivered against the Lakers, and if he stays in a Portland uniform, he'll be essential to the team's effort to stay afloat. Trade rumors about Nurkic have persisted despite Portland's very active trade window, but he is a source of assured production wherever he ends up.
Feb 6, 2022
Secures another double-double
Nurkic recorded 11 points (5-6 FG, 1-3 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks over 25 minutes during Saturday's 137-108 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic saw only 25 minutes -- his lowest in over three weeks -- in the blowout loss, but the big man still managed to notch his third straight double-double. The veteran center is averaging 13.7 points and 13.0 boards over that span. Nurkic's primary weakness in terms of fantasy is his lack of blocked shots. He hasn't swatted more than two shots in any game this season and is averaging only 0.6 blocks per contest.
Feb 3, 2022
Posts another strong performance
Nurkic contributed 16 points (7-15 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 0-3 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 99-94 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was questionable with an ankle injury heading into Wednesday, but the issue didn't stop him from starting and logging 36 minutes. The big man finished with his 12th double-double in 17 games since the start of the new year. He is averaging 17.2 points, 12.2 boards, 3.2 assists and 1.4 thefts over that span.
Feb 2, 2022
Available Wednesday
Nurkic (ankle) will be available for Wednesday's contest against the Lakers, Jamie Hudson of KOIN 6 News Portland reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will be available Wednesday and will attempt to extend his streak of 17 straight games scoring in double figures. The 27-year-old has been extremely recently as he is averaging 19.0 points and 12.6 rebounds over his last 10 games.
Feb 1, 2022
Probable at Lakers
Nurkic is probable for Wednesday's matchup against the Lakers due to a sprained right ankle, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic should be able to play through the issue but has a tough matchup against Anthony Davis waiting. In January, Nurkic averaged 17.3 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.4 steals in 31.4 minutes.
Feb 1, 2022
Falls just short of double-double
Nurkic amassed 14 points (7-12 FG), nine rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 31 minutes during Monday's 98-81 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic put together a solid stat line despite the fact that Portland scored a mere 50 points over the final three quarters of the blowout loss. The big man was one of two Blazers starters to hit more than half his shots, and he led the team with nine boards. Nurkic wraps up January with per-game averages of 17.3 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.4 steals during the month.
Jan 29, 2022
Produces at both ends in win
Nurkic chipped in 25 points (8-11 FG, 9-11 FT), 13 rebounds, one block and one steal over 33 minutes during Friday's 125-110 win over Houston.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has been playing at a very high level for the Blazers of late and has experienced an uptick in his scoring figures in recent weeks. The veteran big man has scored at least 18 points in seven of his last eight games and also has seven double-doubles in that span, emerging as one of the most productive big men in the Western Conference. He's averaging 18.0 points and 12.9 boards per contest in January.
Jan 26, 2022
Logs 20/14 double-double
Nurkic notched 20 points (8-18 FG, 4-6 FT), 14 rebounds, four assists and one steal in 31 minutes during Tuesday's 109-107 loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
The matchup between Nurkic and Karl-Anthony Towns was hotly-contested, and although Towns came away with the better rebounding number, Nurkic had 18 looks and made the most of them. He also went 4-of-6 from the charity stripe to add to his total. Nurkic failed to register a blocked shot in the contest, his first goose egg in the category since Portland's win over the Wizards ten days ago.
Jan 24, 2022
Keeps double-double streak alive
Nurkic accumulated 11 points (5-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-5 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal across 31 minutes during Sunday's 114-105 win over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
The big man continues to thrive on both ends of the court, and he's now posted a double-double in each of his last five appearances. In fact, Nurkic has recorded double-digit points and rebounds in nine of his last 11 outings. He's putting up 17.2 points and 13.3 boards per contest during that 11-game stretch.
Jan 20, 2022
Another double-double
Nurkic contributed 18 points (6-10 FG, 6-8 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 28 minutes during Wednesday's 104-92 loss to Miami.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was efficient on both ends of the court and was one of Portland's best players despite the loss. The big man missed three games in late December after being placed in the league's health and safety protocols, but he's been impressive of late with seven double-doubles over his last nine games since then -- including one in each of his last three contests. Nurkic is averaging 16.6 points and 13.2 rebounds per game in that nine-game span.
Jan 18, 2022
Feasts in win
Nurkic chipped in 21 points (10-21 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 22 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and four steals over 36 minutes during Monday's 98-88 victory over Orlando.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic detonated again Monday. He has now compiled 44 points and 36 rebounds over his previous two games. This sets up an interesting sell-high opportunity for ambitious fantasy managers. In 2018-19, Nurkic averaged 15.6 points per game in a full season with Portland. He's capable of that upside again, but if he continues to put up gaudy numbers in the absence of Damian Lillard (abdomen) -- shareholder should be aware of the window.
Jan 16, 2022
Excels with 23/14 double-double
Nurkic posted 23 points (9-15 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-10 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists and two steals across 31 minutes before fouling out of Saturday's 115-110 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Saturday's effort was precisely the kind of production the Trail Blazers need from Nurkic, and their fortunes would be significantly increased if he can keep the stellar output going. Portland's backcourt is historically the star of the show, but the loss of Damian Lillard (abdomen) is forcing a need for aggressive interior play to stay competitive. Nurkic has the upside to be a premier big man in the Western Conference, but he needs to increase his shot volume and fine-tune his free-throw shooting.
Jan 14, 2022
Fails to step up
Nurkic closed with 10 points (4-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal in 25 minutes during Thursday's 140-108 loss to Denver.
ANALYSIS
Shareholders looking for Nurkic to see an uptick in production sans Damian Lillard (abdomen), CJ McCollum (personal) and Anfernee Simons (personal) were disappointed. Attempting only nine shots is certainly underwhelming, but he salvaged the night with a versatile stat line. He's been a fringe top-10 fantasy asset at the center position.
Jan 10, 2022
Flirts with triple-double
Nurkic ended Sunday's 103-88 win over the Kings with 14 points (6-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-3 FT), 16 rebounds, nine assists, one block and two steals across 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic notched his fourth straight double-double since he returned from a three-game absence due to COVID-19 protocols. He also dished out a career-high nine assists, falling just one short of his first triple-double since 2018. As long as Damian Lillard (abdominal) and CJ McCollum (lung) remain sidelined, the 27-year-old center is expected to see increased usage.
Jan 6, 2022
Ejected but posts double-double
Nurkic recorded 14 points (5-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 13 rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals across 33 minutes before getting ejected from Wednesday's 115-109 loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic posted a solid line during his 33 minutes on the court, finishing with his 14th double-double of the campaign. He was involved in an altercation with Tyler Herro in the final minute that resulted in both players getting tossed, but the game was essentially decided by that point. Nurkic is averaging 17.5 points and 12.5 boards in two contests since returning from a three-game absence while in COVID-19 protocols.
Jan 4, 2022
Returns with double-double
Nurkic accumulated 21 points (8-18 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-7 FT), 12 rebounds, five assists and one steal over 26 minutes during Monday's 136-131 win over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic sat out each of Portland's previous three games while in league health and safety protocols, but he showed little rust in racking up his 13th double-double of the campaign in the victory. The big center also notched his fifth contest with 20-plus points and fell one dime shy of his season-best assist mark. Nurkic is averaging 13.5 points, 10.0 boards and 2.5 assists on the campaign.
Jan 3, 2022
Back in starting five
Nurkic is starting Monday's game against Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was away from the team over Portland's last three contests while in COVID protocols, but he's since been cleared. His return bumps Tony Snell out of the starting lineup.
Jan 3, 2022
Expected to play Monday
Nurkic (COVID) revealed via his personal Twitter account that he has cleared health and safety protocols and is expecting to play in Monday's matchup with the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic missed three games while in COVID protocols but is expected to return Monday. The 27-year-old had been playing well prior to entering protocols as he had averaged 13.8 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists in his previous five games. If Nurkic is not under a minutes restriction in his return, he should be able to quickly return to this level of production.
Jan 2, 2022
Doubtful Monday
Nurkic (COVID-19) is doubtful for Monday's contest against Atlanta, Sean Highkin of BleacherReport.com reports
ANALYSIS
The center has missed the team's last three appearances due to being in the league's health and safety protocols, but Nurkic appears at least closer to returning to the court as he has been improved from out to doubtful. It seems likely that Nurkic will make his return at least some time this week.
Dec 26, 2021
One of seven Blazers in protocols
Nurkic was placed in the NBA's health and safety protocols Sunday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Portland already had five players in protocols before both Nurkic and Cody Zeller tested positive for the virus Sunday night. The big men figure to miss 7-to-10 days, effectively ruling them out for the entirety of Portland's three-game week ahead, which tips off Monday against Utah.
Dec 22, 2021
Trail Blazers-Nets postponed
Nurkic and the Trail Blazers won't play the Nets on Thursday after the NBA postponed the game due to Brooklyn not having the league-required eight available players for that contest.
ANALYSIS
As a result of the postponement, fantasy managers in weekly leagues will get just one game out of Nurkic, who shook off a rib injury to produce 17 points (6-10 FG, 5-8 FT), five rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in Tuesday's 111-97 loss to the Pelicans. Nurkic and the Trail Blazers will return to action Monday against the Mavericks.
Dec 21, 2021
Good to go Tuesday
Nurkic (ribs) will play Tuesday against the Pelicans, Jim Eichenhofer of the Pelicans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has shed his initial questionable tag and will keep his streak alive of playing in every game this season. Over the past five contests, he's averaged 12.0 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 28.0 minutes.
Dec 21, 2021
Questionable for Tuesday's contest
Nurkic (rib) is questionable for Tuesday's contest against the Pelicans, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic hasn't missed any games this season but was a late addition to Tuesday's injury report. With Cody Zeller (kneecap) unavailable again, Larry Nance and Robert Covington should see increased run if Nurkic is held out.
Dec 17, 2021
Available against Hornets
Nurkic (finger) is available for Friday's game against the Hornets, Jamie Hudson of KOIN 6 News Portland reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was a late addition to Friday's injury report due to a right finger sprain but will be able to play through the issue. He's averaged 16.8 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 29.8 minutes per game across his last five appearances.
Dec 17, 2021
Questionable Friday
Nurkic is questionable for Friday's game against the Hornets due to a right finger sprain, Jay Allen of NBC Sports Northwest Rip City Radio 620 reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic hasn't missed any games to begin the season but was a late addition to Friday's injury report. With Cody Zeller (kneecap) unavailable against Charlotte, Larry Nance and Robert Covington should see increased run if Nurkic is held out.
Dec 16, 2021
Delivers double-double
Nurkic contributed 16 points (5-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 6-8 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and two steals across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 113-103 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic didn't have his best shooting performance, but he still posted his third double-double over his last four appearances. The big man has scored in double digits in all but one of his previous 11 games and is making his presence felt for a struggling Portland team, putting up 17.6 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in that span.
Dec 15, 2021
Goes for 17-13-5 in OT loss
Nurkic contributed 17 points (7-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 13 rebounds, five assists and one steal in 39 minutes during Tuesday's 111-107 overtime loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
While the Blazers suffered their sixth consecutive loss, it was an encouraging night for the big man, who saw a season-high (by far) 39 minutes and responded with his second double-double in his last three games. Night-to-night, Nurkic can be a frustrating fantasy asset who's prone to inconsistency, but over his last 13 games he's averaging 16.4 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. The lack of defensive production during that span (1.3 combined steals + blocks per game) is a disappointment, however.
Dec 9, 2021
Records double-double in loss
Nurkic fouled out of Wednesday's 104-94 loss to Golden State after recording 12 points (5-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 13 rebounds and six assists across 28 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic figures to be the centerpiece of the offense while Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum are sidelined. His skills have been underused this season, but now is a great opportunity to let him loose. The subs in the backcourt can feed the ball to Nurkic and give their team a fighting chance over the next few weeks.
Dec 7, 2021
Paces Portland with 31 points
Nurkic ended with 31 points (12-19 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-10 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one block over 30 minutes during Monday's 102-90 loss to Los Angeles.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic needed to step up offensively with both Damian Lillard (abdomen) and CJ McCollum (ribs) absent for the contest, and the big man did so impressively with a season-high 31 points. He may have had an even better stat line if not for foul trouble -- Nurkic picked up his second penalty midway through the first quarter and finished with five fouls on the night. His fantasy managers will mostly be happy with Nurkic's performance Monday, though it should be noted that he tied his season-low mark with five boards and hasn't hit double-digit rebounds in his last four contests.
Dec 3, 2021
Quiet in lopsided loss
Nurkic finished with 10 points (3-8 FG, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds and one assist over 23 minutes during Thursday's 114-83 loss to the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic's 23 minutes were his fewest in seven games and largely a product of the blowout nature of the contest. He still managed to hit double-digit scoring for the fifth straight game, and he added seven boards to produce at least moderate fantasy value. Nurkic is averaging a double-double (12.4 points, 10.6 boards) on the campaign, though he is also posting less than one block per contest for the first time in his career.
Dec 1, 2021
Fills stat sheet Tuesday
Nurkic totaled 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-5 FT), eight rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal over 27 minutes during Tuesday's 110-92 win over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic finished the game as Portland's third-best scorer behind C.J. McCollum and Ben McLemore, but his impact went beyond the box score since he also chipped in across the board and contributed in other categories as well. The big man averaged a double-double through 16 appearances in November thanks to 12.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per tilt.
Nov 30, 2021
Posts another big effort in loss
Nurkic had 24 points (9-13 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 5-7 FT), 10 rebounds and one assist in 27 minutes during Monday's 129-107 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has upped his offensive game over his past three contests, averaging 23.0 points and making 23 of 40 field-goal attempts (67.5 percent). For context, the big man had scored 20 points only once prior to the three-game spurt -- and that came in Portland's season-opener. Nurkic's fantasy value will increase considerably if he's able to maintain the recent scoring surge, as he's also one of the league's top-10 rebounders, averaging 10.9 boards per contest.
Nov 25, 2021
Goes off for 28 points, 17 boards
Nurkic provided 28 points (12-17 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 17 rebounds, five assists and one steal over 32 minutes during Wednesday's 125-121 loss to Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was electric from the get-go Wednesday, racking up a double-double within the first 10 minutes of the contest. He set a season high in scoring and matched his campaign-best mark with 17 boards. The big man isn't a prolific scorer -- coming into Wednesday, he hadn't reached the 20-point mark since the season opener -- but he is on pace to average a double-double while shooting over 50 percent from the field, making him a quality option at center in most fantasy formats.
Nov 21, 2021
Posts double-double Saturday
Nurkic notched 11 points (5-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt), 11 rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals across 23 minutes during Saturday's 118-111 victory over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
The big man took only six shots in the win, but he efficiently made five of them and pulled down 11 boards en route to his second straight double-double. Nurkic's primary strength is rebounding -- he ranks seventh in the league with 11.2 boards per contest -- but with per-game averages of 11.1 points and 1.4 steals along with a 57.5 percent field-goal rate, he has done enough to post top-60 value in nine-category fantasy leagues.
Nov 18, 2021
Notches double-double Wednesday
Nurkic mustered 18 points (8-13 FG, 2-2 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 23 minutes during Wednesday's 112-107 victory over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has been relatively quiet in the scoring department of late, as he entered Wednesday averaging just 7.3 points over his previous four games. He easily surpassed that mark against Chicago, notching his second-highest scoring total of the campaign and pulling down 12 boards to collect his sixth double-double. Nurkic has been better as a rebounder than as a scorer this season, but his 11.1 points and 11.2 rebounds overall make him worthy of a roster spot in nearly all fantasy formats.
Nov 10, 2021
Notches double-double in loss
Nurkic totaled 15 points (6-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 13 rebounds, six assists and a steal over 27 minutes Monday in a loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
The big man didn't block any shots for the third time in four games, but he otherwise stuffed the stat sheet. Nurkic's six assists were a season high, and he finished with double-digit rebounds for the seventh time in 11 games on the campaign. The veteran center ranks fourth in the NBA with 12.0 boards per contest.
Nov 7, 2021
Corrals 17 boards Saturday
Nurkic totaled 15 points (6-6 FG, 3-5 FT), 17 rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot over 22 minutes in a 105-90 victory versus the Lakers on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic played only 22 minutes and put up only six shots, but he made the most of his time on the court, converting all six of his field-goal attempts while tying his season high with 17 boards. The big man has notched four double-doubles this season and is averaging 11.5 points, 11.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals through 10 games.
Nov 4, 2021
Limited production in loss
Nurkic finished with six points (3-7 FG, 0-1 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and a steal over 28 minutes in a 107-104 loss to the Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has failed to exceed 29 minutes in any game this season, which is certainly a factor that caps his fantasy ceiling. That withstanding, the 8.4 field-goals attempted per game is the lowest figure of his six seasons in Portland. On another note, he has been the Trail Blazers' best defensive asset, keeping his role secure.
Oct 31, 2021
Piles up another double-double
Nurkic finished Sunday's loss to Charlotte with 13 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 14 rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block.
ANALYSIS
While the big man's minutes remain fairly limited to begin the season, he's starting to hit his stride over the last few games. Nurkic went for 17 points, eight boards and three steals against Memphis on Wednesday before following up with 14 points, 17 rebounds, three assists and two steals in Friday's win over the Clippers. Nurkic is a bit of a liability in terms of turnovers, but fantasy managers can live with that if he's providing nightly double-doubles and defensive stats.
Oct 30, 2021
Double-doubles in 23 minutes
Nurkic ended with 14 points (6-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 17 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in 23 minutes during Friday's 111-92 victory over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic needed just 23 minutes to turn in one of his best performances of the season to date. While his production has been more than adequate, it is the fact he is healthy that has fantasy managers thrilled. As long as this holds true, Nurkic should be able to smash through his ADP come February.
Oct 24, 2021
Grabs 12 boards in win
Nurkic registered nine points (4-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals over 25 minutes in a 134-105 rout of Phoenix on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
The big man fell one point short of his second straight double-double despite being held to 25 minutes due to the lopsided score. Nurkic is off to a strong start to the campaign, posting per-game averages of 14.5 points, 13.0 boards and 2.5 assists while shooting 58.8 percent from the field through two outings.
Oct 21, 2021
Double-doubles Wednesday
Nurkic finished Wednesday's loss to Sacramento with 20 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 7-7 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot over 29 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The big man was a beast on the boards in the contest, leading all players with 14 rebounds. He also posted an efficient night from the field and from the charity stripe, though his efforts weren't enough to prevent Portland from taking a loss in the season opener. After a pair of injury-plagued seasons, Nurkic could provide plenty of value for fantasy managers who invested in him on draft day if he's able to stay healthy throughout the campaign.
Oct 5, 2021
Turns in double-double
Nurkic registered 15 points (5-8 FG, 2-4 3PT, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists and one steal across 23 minutes in Monday's preseason game against Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic led the way for Portland in the rebounding department and finished with a double-double in his 2021 preseason debut. The center had a down year in terms of production in 2020, averaging 11.5 points and 9.0 rebounds through 37 games. Nurkic will aim to return to his 2018 form, a year he put up 15.6 points and 10.4 boards over 72 contests.
May 31, 2021
Ready for Game 5
Nurkic has a bruised left thumb but will be available for Tuesday's Game 5 at Denver, Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports Northwest reports.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old apparently suffered the injury during Game 4 on Saturday, but the issue isn't serious enough to saddle him with an injury designation for Tuesday. Nurkic has averaged 13.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 blocks in 29.3 minutes across the first four games of the series.
May 28, 2021
Double-double in loss
Nurkic accumulated 13 points (5-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 13 rebounds, six assists and one block in 31 minutes during Thursday's 120-115 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old bounced back from Monday's seven-point effort to post 13 points on 50 percent field-goal shooting. Nurkic has been solid on the boards so far this series, averaging 12.7 rebounds over his at three games. The Blazers will need the seventh-year center to keep up his impressive rebounding pace if they want to even the series in Game 4 on Saturday.
May 25, 2021
Fouls out after 13-rebound effort
Nurkic posted seven points (2-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 13 rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot across 25 minutes in Monday's 128-109 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
With the game getting out of hand, Portland had nothing to lose by putting Nurkic out there with five fouls, and he got his sixth with over nine minutes left in the game. Rudy Gobert is probably the only big man who can draw a foul better than Nikola Jokic. Although Nurkic outrebounded the MVP favorite, Jokic got the best of him whenever he got too aggressive under the basket. Nurkic doesn't need to do the impossible against Jokic, but even a modest reduction in Jokic's production could be a difference-maker in the series.

Double-doubles in Game 1 victory
Nurkic ended with 16 points (7-10 FG, 2-3 FT), 12 rebounds, five assists and one steal in 33 minutes during Saturday's 123-109 victory over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic fared well against the Nuggets on Saturday, despite the fact he was tasked with defending Nikola Jokic. Enes Kanter played just 15 minutes in the victory, as Nurkic continues to look more and more like the player we expected to see this season. Based on what we saw in Game 1, Jokic is going to be the primary option on offense for the Nuggets and so Nurkic is going to need to be at his best if the Trail Blazers are to advance.

Posts 14th double-double
Nurkic registered 20 points (8-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-6 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 20 minutes during Sunday's 132-116 win over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old ended his regular season on a high note after totaling just 18 points over his previous two games, scoring 20 points in just 20 minutes. The Blazers won 10 of their last 12 games thanks in large part due to Nurkic's stellar play as he averaged 14.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 steals while shooting 54.8 percent from the field in that span. The seventh-year center will hope to carry his late-season success into the NBA playoffs for the sixth-seeded Blazers.

Double-doubles in Wednesday's win
Nurkic managed 11 points (3-14 FG, 5-8 FT), 15 rebounds, six assists, three steals and three blocks during Wednesday's 105-98 win over Utah.
ANALYSIS
Despite a sluggish offensive performance to say the least, Nurkic picked up the slack off the glass to lead the Blazers in rebounding. It was his third game over the past five with at least 11 rebounds. Across his past five outings, Nurkic is averaging a double-double of 15.0 points and 10.8 rebounds.
May 11, 2021
Turns in 22 points in victory
Nurkic provided 22 points (10-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, five assists, three steals and a blocked shot across 29 minutes in Monday's 140-129 win over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
It's hard to knock Nurkic's string of performances, but it would help the Trail Blazers immensely if he could show a bit more hustle. Since his return, his innate talents have yielded some standout totals, but he seems to have lost a step and finds himself boxed out more often. The result is more variance in his rebound totals, especially on the defensive end. If he can return to his pre-injury totals on a more consistent basis, Portland will look like a more complete team as they compete in the playoffs.

Puts up double-double in win
Nurkic finished Friday's 106-101 victory over the Lakers with 10 points (5-8 FG), 13 rebounds, five assists and one steal across 31 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic mostly left the scoring to star teammates Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, but he still made a big impact with 13 boards and five dimes. The center's ability to contribute across multiple categories is a big part of his appeal both for Portland and for fantasy managers who roster him. On the season, Nurkic is averaging 10.8 points, 8.8 boards, 3.3 dimes and 1.0 blocks while shooting 50.9 percent from the field.
May 5, 2021
Season-high four blocks in rout
Nurkic had 15 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and four blocks in Wednesday's win over the Cavs.
ANALYSIS
The game got out of hand in the third quarter, so the Blazers were able to pull back on their starters' minutes for much of the second half. Nurkic still found time to rack up his sixth double-double in the last eight games while position this highest blocks total of the season.
May 3, 2021
Posts another double-double
Nurkic totaled 14 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals in 29 minutes in Sunday's 129-119 win over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was the only starter who didn't play at least 30 minutes Sunday, but he still led the Trail Blazers on the boards and recorded his fifth double-double in his last six games. The 26-year-old has averaged 17.5 points and 12.8 rebounds in 25.7 minutes per game across the last six contests.
May 1, 2021
Strong double-double in win
Nurkic mustered 23 points (9-12 FG, 5-7 FT), 11 rebounds and an assist across 26 minutes in Friday's win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic had a strong double-double in this win and was also extremely effective, as he missed just three shots from the field. This was his fifth straight games scoring in double digits and the fourth time he reached the 15-point plateau in that span, while also putting up four double-doubles in that stretch. Undoubtedly, he's getting hot at the right time.
Apr 29, 2021
Drops 15 and 9 in win
Nurkic had 15 points (5-10 FG, 5-6 FT), nine boards, a steal and a block in Wednesday's win over Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic wasn't able to replicate his pair of monster efforts against the Grizzlies over the weekend, but he still turned in a strong line considering he only saw 21 minutes of action in the blowout victory. Over his last four games, Nurkic is putting up 17.0 points, 13.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.3 blocks in 24.8 minutes.
Apr 28, 2021
Third straight double-double
Nurkic scored 11 points (4-10 FG, 3-5 FT) while adding 11 rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block in 20 minutes during Tuesday's win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Facing a depleted Indiana frontcourt, both Nurkic and Enes Kanter (in only 15 minutes off the bench) posted double-doubles in a blowout victory. Nurkic has dominated the glass over the last three games, recording a double-double in each while averaging 17.7 points, 15.3 boards, 4.7 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 steals.
Apr 25, 2021
Pulls down 19 boards in loss
Nurkic had 16 points (6-13 FG, 4-5 FT), 19 rebounds, five assists and two blocks in Sunday's loss to Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Coming off of his best game of the season Friday night, Nurkic followed up with another monster performance, but Portland still dropped its fifth straight game. While it's certainly encouraging to see Nurkic putting up the kind of numbers he's proven capable of providing in the past, it may be too little too late for fantasy managers who invested in the big man during draft season.
Apr 22, 2021
Playing time increases in loss
Nurkic tallied eight points (3-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and one steal in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 106-105 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was back in the lineup after sitting out Tuesday's game due to rest. This is likely to be a consistent theme for the remainder of the regular season as the Trail Blazers look to ensure he is good to go come playoff time. He is yet to fully bust out and GMs will simply need to exercise patience. That said, his ability to put up numbers across multiple categories typically results in a solid enough fantasy line, even when the scoring is not up to scratch.
Apr 21, 2021
Playing Wednesday
Nurkic (rest) will play Wednesday against the Nuggets, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic sat out the front end of the Trail Blazers' back-to-back, and he'll be available Wednesday. Over his past five appearances, he's averaged 9.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.6 blocks and 1.0 steals in 23.2 minutes.
Apr 19, 2021
Won't play Tuesday
Nurkic will be held out of Tuesday's game against the Clippers due to injury management, Jason Quick of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will get the night off after playing in four straight contests. Expect Enes Kanter and Robert Covington to see an uptick in minutes as a result.
Apr 17, 2021
Poor shooting effort
Nurkic mustered nine points (4-11 FG, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, four assists and a block across 22 minutes in Friday's win over the Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic remains as the Blazers' starting center but has been playing poorly of late, as he has registered three straight appearances with single-digit scoring figures while being outplayed by Enes Kanter during that span. Nurkic has failed to surpass the 10-point mark in each of his last nine games since returning from injury and is averaging a meager 8.3 points per game during that span.
Apr 12, 2021
Scores six in loss
Nurkic had six points (2-3 FG, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds, four assists and three blocks in Sunday's loss to Miami.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has now appeared in seven games since returning from a lengthy injury absence, but the team continues to limit his workload. Nurkic is yet to play more than 22 minutes in any of those appearances, as he and Enes Kanter have split minutes relatively evenly. Until Nurkic moves closer to 25-to-30 minutes on most nights, his fantasy value will remain muted.
Apr 11, 2021
Will start Sunday night
Nurkic will start Sunday's game against the Heat, Blazers radio host Jay Allen reports.
ANALYSIS
After being rested for Saturday's win over Detroit, Nurkic will return to the lineup at center, sending Enes Kanter back to the bench. Nurkic is coming off of a 10-point, six-rebound, four-assist, one-steal, one-block effort against the Jazz on Thursday. He's yet to play more than 22 minutes in any of his six games since returning from a long-term injury absence.
Apr 11, 2021
Back in action Sunday
Nurkic (rest) doesn't appear on the injury report for Sunday's game against the Heat, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was sidelined for Saturday's 118-103 win over the Pistons with what was termed as right knee injury management, but his absence was essentially a rest day for the front end of a back-to-back set. He should reclaim his starting role at center Sunday, leaving fewer minutes available for Enes Kanter, who produced a 24-point, 30-rebound double-double Saturday.
Apr 9, 2021
Resting Saturday
Nurkic (knee) Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site in Saturday's game against the Pistons, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Portland will opt rest Nurkic on the front leg of a back-to-back set. As a result, look for Enes Kanter to replace him in the starting lineup. The big man has averaged 8.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.5 blocks across 20.0 minutes in six games since returning to action.
Apr 8, 2021
Remains on minutes restriction
Nurkic (knee) will be limited to around 20 minutes Thursday against the Jazz, Jay Allen of NBC Sports Northwest Rip City Radio 620 reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic will remain on the same minutes restriction he's seen in his last five outings of about 20 minutes, which should keep him from posting huge numbers. In his last five games, Nurkic has averaged 8.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steal across 19.6 minutes per game.
Apr 8, 2021
Good to go Thursday
Nurkic (knee) will be available for Thursday's game against Utah, Jason Quick of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The big man was questionable coming in, but he'll return to action after missing Tuesday's loss to the Clippers. Nurkic has started all five of his appearances since returning from a long-term injury absence, averaging 8.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steal in 19.6 minutes during that span.
Apr 7, 2021
Questionable for Thursday
Nurkic (knee) is questionable for Thursday's game at Utah, Jay Allen of NBC Sports Northwest Rip City Radio 620 reports.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old sat out Tuesday's matchup with the Clippers due to right knee inflammation, and his status remains in question for Thursday's contest. Enes Kanter could receive another start at center should Nurkic remain sidelined.
Apr 5, 2021
Ruled out Monday
Nurkic won't play Tuesday against the Clippers due to right knee inflammation, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic evidently came away from Friday's matchup against the Thunder with a knee issue, and it'll force him to miss Tuesday's clash. Enes Kanter will be a candidate to draw the start at center in Nurkic's place.
Apr 3, 2021
Near double-double in 21 minutes
Nurkic collected nine points (2-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and one steal across 21 minutes Friday in a 127-109 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic nearly recorded the double-double but just missed out due to a shortage of points. The center shot under 30 percent, something he had done only two other times this season. Nurkic grabbing over 10 rebounds is at least a positive sign that the near seven-footer could serve as an integral dual threat.
Mar 31, 2021
Still on minutes limit
Nurkic remains on a restriction of "around" 20 minutes Wednesday against the Pistons, Jay Allen of NBC Sports Northwest Rip City Radio 620 reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has played 19 minutes in each of his first two games back, and he should see a similar workload Wednesday. In those 38 total minutes, he's recorded 18 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal. Once Nurkic is back up to a full workload, fantasy managers rostering Enes Kanter will have to re-evaluate his value to their team.
Mar 28, 2021
Scores 10 in 19 minutes
Nurkic went for 10 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block in 19 minutes Sunday night against Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Playing in his second game since returning from an extended injury absence, Nurkic remained on a minutes limit, but he'll eventually work up toward a larger workload. The big man will get two days off before Wednesday's matchup with the Pistons in Detroit. It's a three-game week for Portland, so consider leaving Nurkic on the bench before deploying him at full-strength in Week 16.
Mar 28, 2021
Will remain on minutes limit
Nurkic will be limited to around 20 minutes in Sunday's matchup against Toronto, Blazers radio host Jay Allen reports.
ANALYSIS
Portland will again ease Nurkic back into action after he saw 19 minutes as the starting center in Friday's win over the depleted Magic. Nurkic finished that contest with eight points, eight boards, two assists, one steal and one block, while committing four turnovers. The minutes cap will limit his ceiling in DFS contests, and the big man makes for a risky start in weekly fantasy leagues, as the Blazers have only three games on their Week 15 schedule.
Mar 27, 2021
Solid production in return
Nurkic (wrist) played 18 minutes Friday in the Trail Blazers' 112-105 win over the Magic, scoring eight points (3-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-4 FT) and adding eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.
ANALYSIS
As expected, the Trail Blazers held firm to their 20-minute cap on Nurkic, who will presumably need a few games to get fully re-conditioned after missing the team's previous 32 contests while recovering from a fractured right wrist. He immediately took back his spot in the starting five, though backup Enes Kanter saw the larger minutes share (29) and was able to produce the better stat line (15 points, 15 rebounds, two blocks and two steals). Expect Nurkic to eventually settle into the 25-to-30-minute range most nights, making him the preferred center to roster in fantasy leagues over Kanter, who should become more of a fringy option in 12-to-14-team leagues.
Mar 26, 2021
Starting, on 20-minute limit
Nurkic (wrist) will start during his return Friday against the Magic, Brooke Olzendam of NBC Sports Northwest reports. He will be on a limit of about 20 minutes, Jay Allen of NBC Sports Northwest Rip City Radio 620 reports.
ANALYSIS
Following a 32-game absence, Nurkic will pick up right where he left off in the starting lineup. He won't play a full complement of minutes in his first game back, however.
Mar 26, 2021
Officially off injury report
Nurkic (wrist) is off the injury report for Friday's game against the Magic, Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports Northwest reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Nurkic will make his return Friday following an absence from a broken right wrist that's kept him out since Jan. 14. It's not clear if he'll immediately join the starting five. Either way, there's a chance he'll be eased back into things and could be on a minutes limit initially.
Mar 25, 2021
Plans to return Friday
Nurkic (wrist) plans to return for Friday's game against Orlando, NBC Sports Northwest reports.
ANALYSIS
After being sidelined since Jan. 14 due to a fractured right wrist, Nurkic appears ready to make his return on the team's second end of a back-to-back. It was initially estimated that the 26-year-old center would miss two months, but his return was partially delayed after suffered a right calf strain during rehab earlier in March. Nurkic will likely see his workload slowly ramped up as he makes his return. Nurkic's return will mean Enes Kanter will likely eventually return to a bench role.
Mar 15, 2021
To return around end of March
Nurkic (wrist) plans to make his return to game action in approximately two weeks, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
While Nurkic continues to progress in his recovery from a fractured right wrist, this is something of a disappointing development for fantasy managers who hoped the big man could return to the lineup at some point in the week ahead. At this stage, Nurkic is likely working on his conditioning, as it's been more than two full months since his last appearance (Jan. 14). For the time being, Enes Kanter will continue to start at center, but he'll likely cede the position to Nurkic around the end of March.
Mar 12, 2021
Could be back next week
Nurkic (wrist) said Tuesday during an appearance on ESPN's "The Jump" program that he expects to return to game action by the end of the month, Chris Burkhardt of NBC Sports Northwest reports. "The [surgically-repaired] wrist is doing great, as you can see," Nurkic told host Rachel Nichols. "Pretty much almost there. It's kinda finishing up so I need to just make sure I'm not doing shortcuts now because it's almost there. If not right after the All-Star [break], I think a week or two will be just fine."
ANALYSIS
While Nurkic didn't put a firm target date on when he'll be back in the lineup, his comments suggest that he could be ready to play as soon as next week, if the Trail Blazers are willing to fully clear him. Since Nurkic has been sidelined since Jan. 14 with the fractured right wrist that later required surgery, he could need some time to regain full conditioning, so the Trail Blazers may look to limit his minutes counts in his first few games back in action. Nurkic's eventual return will likely result in Enes Kanter moving into a backup role at center, effectively ending Kanter's time as a must-roster player in 10- and 12-team leagues.
Mar 4, 2021
To be evaluated next week
Nurkic (wrist) will be evaluated next week, Jason Quick of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Portland is handing out vague statements about Nurkic's recovery, saying that he's "continuing to progress" and that he will "continue to increase his on-court activity." We may learn more about his estimated timetable for a return when he gets re-evaluated next week, but that's hardly a guarantee.
Feb 25, 2021
Likely out through break
The Trail Blazers aren't expecting Nurkic (wrist) to be available until after the All-Star break, Jason Quick of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic and CJ McCollum (foot) are due to be re-evaluated Tuesday as the Trail Blazers look to see where exactly both players stand in their recoveries from long-term injuries. In the case of Nurkic, he's been sidelined since Jan. 14 with a fractured right wrist that required surgery. The big man has been able to do some aerobic activities in recent weeks in an attempt to stay conditioned, but since he fractured his shooting hand, he hasn't been able to go through much on-court work. If team doctors are satisfied with how Nurkic has healed upon re-evaluating him, he could be cleared to increase his activities coming out of the All-Star break.
Jan 19, 2021
Officially undergoes wrist surgery
Nurkic underwent surgery to repair a fracture in his right wrist Tuesday and will be reevaluated in six weeks.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old will wear a splint for the next four weeks and will be reevaluated after an additional two weeks. Nurkic could return to action in mid-March if all goes well in his recovery, and his status will be updated as he progresses through the rehabilitation process. Enes Kanter and Harry Giles are poised to handle the bulk of the minutes at center in the meantime.
Jan 15, 2021
Out eight weeks after surgery
Nurkic (wrist) will undergo surgery and be sidelined at least eight weeks, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Eight weeks is after the Blazers' final regular-season game, so Nurkic can be dropped in almost every re-draft fantasy league. For the remainder of the season, Enes Kanter will likely start while Harry Giles sees backup minutes. Kanter is the clear waiver wire add, though Giles should have some viability in deeper leagues.
Jan 14, 2021
Suffers wrist fracture
Nurkic suffered a fractured right wrist during Thursday's game against the Pacers, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic is obviously done for the night, and his injury will certainly force him to miss a significant amount of games for the Trail Blazers. The length of the big man's recovery timetable will likely be significantly impacted by whether or not he requires surgery, and the bones involved in the fracture. With Zach Collins (ankle) already out indefinitely, Enes Kanter and Harry Giles are Portland's only remaining healthy centers.
Jan 14, 2021
Heads to locker room
Nurkic (hand/arm) has exited Thursday's game and headed to the locker room, Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports Northwest reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic appeared to land awkwardly on his right hand or arm, and he immediately left Thursday's game against the Pacers during a timeout. The Blazers medical staff will evaluate him before making a decision about his potential return to Thursday's game.
Jan 13, 2021
Will play Wednesday
Nurkic (quadriceps) will play in Wednesday's game against Sacramento, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
At first, it appeared that Nurkic may need to watch this one from the sidelines but luckily that won't be the case. The center will presumably start his 11th straight matchup against the Kings.
Jan 12, 2021
Questionable for Wednesday
Nurkic (quadriceps) is questionable for Wednesday's game at Sacramento, Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports Northwest reports.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old played only nine minutes Monday before exiting with the left quad bruise, and his status is in question for Wednesday's contest. Enes Kanter could have an increased role if Nurkic is unavailable.
Jan 11, 2021
Suffers quad injury
Nurkic is questionable to return to Monday's game against the Raptors due to a bruised left quadriceps.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic suffered the injury in the first half and was spotted walking to the locker room. Enes Kanter should see more run if Nurkic is unable to return.
Jan 8, 2021
Logs season-high 17 points
Nurkic posted 17 points (8-10 FG, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and a steal across 23 minutes in Thursday's 135-117 win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic's foul issues have compromised his output this season, and his rebound totals are nowhere near where they have been in previous seasons. The presence of Enes Kanter has the most significant effect on Nurkic's totals, and since he only logged 14 minutes on Thursday, things worked in Nurkic's favor.
Jan 6, 2021
Tallies third double-double
Nurkic scored 12 points (6-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 0-0 FT) and added 11 rebounds, six assists and one block in 28 minutes of Tuesday's 111-108 loss to Chicago.
ANALYSIS
The effort marked Nurkic's first double-digit scoring effort in four outings although it helped that he played more minutes in this one than in all but one other game this season. His numbers are down so far compared to his projections as well as his career norms so far this year, and he'll next have a chance to rectify that Thursday against Minnesota.
Jan 2, 2021
Totals eight rebounds in win
Nurkic notched eight points (3-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-4 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal over 18 minutes in Friday's 123-98 win over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic's production was limited during Wednesday's blowout loss, and his output was capped once again as the Trail Blazers had little trouble taking care of Golden State. The 26-year-old has cooled off over the last two games that weren't especially competitive, but he'll attempt to return to form Sunday against the Warriors.
Jan 1, 2021
Blowout loss limits production
Nurkic recorded four points (2-4 FG), four rebounds, two blocks and one assist in 23 minutes during Wednesday's 128-105 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Portland has already been on the losing end of two 20-point blowouts, which has limited Nurkic's production. Fantasy managers need to be patient with the Trail Blazers and Nurkic, as in the two competitive games Portland has played, the center is averaging 11.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 30.5 minutes. Friday's contest against Golden State oozes bounce-back potential for the Blazers, as the Warriors have the worst net rating (-12.4) in the NBA.
Dec 27, 2020
Double-doubles in victory
Nurkic tallied 12 points (5-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-6 FT), 11 rebounds, six assists and one block in a win over Houston on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic took a backseat in the scoring department, but he rounded out a versatile effort with 11 boards and six dimes. The poor free-throw shooting hampered an otherwise strong effort, but Nurkic has improved in that department in recent seasons and shouldn't be a category-killer from the stripe for fantasy purposes.
Dec 19, 2020
Struggles to end preseason
Nurkic had four points (2-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt), six rebounds and four assists in 22 minutes during a 129-96 loss to the Nuggets on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic had a tough time against Denver, recording more turnovers (five) than he did points. He will end his preseason with averages of 5.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists over two games. Nurkic will look to regroup in the season opener versus Utah on Wednesday.
Dec 16, 2020
Set for limited minutes Wednesday
Coach Terry Stotts said Nurkic will play less than 20 minutes during Wednesday's preseason game against the Nuggets, Harrison Wind of TheDNVR.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's not much of a surprise, as the 26-year-old played only 13 minutes during his preseason debut Sunday. Nurkic was limited to only eight games last season, so the Trail Blazers are being understandably cautious with their starting center in exhibition play.
Dec 14, 2020
Limited minutes in preseason debut
Nurkic ended with four points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), four rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal in 13 minutes during Sunday's 121-106 preseason loss to Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic made his preseason debut for the Trail Blazers, playing just 13 minutes. Of course, there is nothing to worry about here with the team simply being extra cautious with their franchise center. Nurkic has garnered himself a lot of attention thus far in the abbreviated preseason, without really doing anything. His ADP is increasing and if you are keen to add him to your playing roster, you are going to have to be willing to part with a third-round draft pick at the very least.
Dec 13, 2020
Set to make debut
Nurkic will be available for Sunday's preseason game against the Kings, Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports Northwest reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was held out of Friday's opener, but he's been cleared to make his preseason debut Sunday. The big man is expected to play roughly 12 minutes, per coach Terry Stotts.
Dec 9, 2020
Doubtful to play Friday
Nurkic (personal) is unlikely to play in Friday's preseason opener against the Kings while he completed COVID-19 protocol, Aaron J. Fentress of The Oregonian reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was recently away from the team in Bosnia, where he was attending to family issues. Back in America, he has to go through COVID-19 protocol and will be away from the team for some time. He could miss multiple preseason games, but we should expect Nurkic to be available for the regular-season opener.
Dec 7, 2020
Not with team
Nurkic is away from the team and attending to family issues in Bosnia, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Portland is beginning practice this week but will be without its starting center. Nurkic will need to clear the COVID-19 protocols once he arrives, so he'll have to wait to take the court once returning to the United States. The Trail Blazers begin preseason play Friday and have three more exhibition contests before the season opener Dec. 23 versus the Jazz.

Double-double in loss
Nurkic finished with 16 points (6-16 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 10 boards, 6 assists, 5 steals, and one block in 37 minutes of a 131-122 loss to Los Angeles on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic posted his third double-double of the series, but his effort wasn't enough to offset the dynamic effort of his Lakers' counterparts as he finished -19 in the game. The loss ends Portland's season and Nurkic's fourth year as a Trail Blazer.

Double-double in loss
Nurkic finished Monday's Game 4 loss to the Lakers with 20 points (7-10 FG, 0-1 3PT, 6-8 FT), 13 rebounds, and four assists.
ANALYSIS
The game was a blowout from the first quarter on, but Nurkic was still able to salvage a productive night in 27 minutes. It was a bounceback game for the big man, who totaled just 19 points and 15 rebounds over the previous two games combined.
Aug 21, 2020
Nears double-double
Nurkic notched nine points (4-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt), eight rebounds, two assists and a steal in 29 minutes during Thursday's 111-88 Game 2 loss against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was one of the main reasons why the Blazers pulled the upset in Game 1 thanks to a 16-point, 15-rebound performance, but he wasn't able to repeat those numbers here. Nurkic also saw a streak of three straight double-doubles come to an end, but he should remain an important cog in the Blazers' offense ahead of Saturday's Game 3, especially if Damian Lillard (finger) is not at full strength.

Records double-double in win
Nurkic produced 16 points (4-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 7-9 FT), 15 rebounds and three assists across 33 minutes in Tuesday's 100-93 win over the Lakers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic did more than hold his own opposite Anthony Davis in the paint, outrebounding him 15 to 11. Tuesday marked Nurkic's fifth double-double in bubble play, and it's hard to envision Portland's fortunes without him back in the lineup. Although the Blazers were able to limp into contention behind Hassan Whiteside, Nurkic is an almost universal size mismatch, and he gives the Trail Blazers an imposing interior presence that they lost when Nurkic broke his leg. Behind his stellar play, Portland has a fighting chance to move on against a Laker squad that's struggling to find its footing.
Aug 15, 2020
Dominant display versus Grizzlies
Nurkic delivered 22 points (8-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-9 FT), 21 rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks in 41 minutes during Saturday's 126-122 win over the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic finished with a career high in made threes while contributing an absolutely incredible stat line. He had made just five three-pointers in his career prior to this one, so the fact that he's apparently adding that to his game makes him that much more valuable for fantasy purposes. Nurkic will look to keep it rolling during Tuesday's matchup versus the Lakers.
Aug 14, 2020
Records double-double in thriller
Nurkic totaled 22 points (11-17 FG, 0-1 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and a steal across 32 minutes in Thursday's 134-133 win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic's potential impact in the bubble was unclear after missing several months with a broken leg, be crushed expectations in the bubble. He's averaged 17.6 points, 10.3 rebounds and four assists in Orlando.
Aug 8, 2020
Records 13 boards, nine dimes
Nurkic posted 10 points (3-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 13 rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 33 minutes during Saturday's 122-117 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic's passing helped make up for his lack of scoring Saturday. His nine dimes were one short of tying his career-high, which was set last season. Even with that being the case, Saturday's effort was Nurkic's worst of the bubble. He came into the game averaging 22.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 3.0 blocks and 1.5 steals.
Aug 6, 2020
Goes for 22 points in win
Nurkic registered 22 points (9-20 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal in 35 minutes during Thursday's win over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was one of Portland's best players in this game, but he will be remembered for putting Bol Bol in a poster with a thunderous dunk in the second quarter. The Bosnian big man has thrived since the restart of the league, scoring at least 18 points in each of his four games while averaging 11.0 boards per contest in that stretch.
Aug 5, 2020
Dominates glass in win
Nurkic tallied 18 points (6-15 FG, 0-0 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 19 rebounds, three assists, one steal and three blocks in Tuesday's 110-102 win over Houston.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic continued his exceptional play since both his and the NBA's return, notching his third-straight game of at least 18 points. His 19 boards on the evening led the game and accounted for just under half of what the entire opposing team totaled. The 25-year-old will need to keep it up as Portland pursues a playoff spot.
Aug 3, 2020
Sensational again in loss
Nurkic tallied 30 points (12-20 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block in Sunday's 128-124 loss to Boston.
ANALYSIS
Despite missing nearly a calendar year and a half with a leg injury, Nurkic has come back firing on all cylinders. While unreasonable to expect the 25-year-old to sustain this scoring pace going forward, he ought to continue to contribute across the board statistically. His next chance comes Tuesday against Houston.
Jul 31, 2020
Outstanding stat line in return
Nurkic exploded for 18 points (5-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 8-8 FT), nine rebounds, six blocks, five assists and two steals in 33 minutes during Friday's 140-135 overtime win against the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic fouled out but otherwise was absolutely sensational in this his first official game since fracturing his leg back in March of 2019. He dominated the paint defensively, made every one of his free-throw attempts, and showcased his elite passing ability (for his position). With each game being extremely important for the Trail Blazers as they chase a playoff spot, Nurkic seems like a very strong option for fantasy purposes.
Jul 31, 2020
Starting in opener
Nurkic will start Friday's game against the Grizzlies, Aaron J. Fentress of The Oregonian reports.
ANALYSIS
The first game of the resumed season will mark Nurkic's first appearance since Mar. 25 of 2019, as he suffered a gruesome leg injury. He's looked good in the scrimmages, and he's taken back his starting spot from Hassan Whiteside. In Nurkic's 72 appearances in 2018-19, he averaged 15.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.0 steals in 27.4 minutes.
Jul 29, 2020
Limited production in third scrimmage
Nurkic registered five points (2-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block in 16 minutes during Tuesday's 131-120 scrimmage loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was coming off back-to-back double-digit scoring performances in the first two scrimmages, but he only logged 16 minutes in this game -- perhaps as the Blazers didn't want to take any risks with their star center. Regardless if he starts or not once the regular season resumes, Nurkic will definitively log decent minutes for the Blazers down the stretch.
Jul 26, 2020
Scores 17 in scrimmage
Nurkic went for 17 points (4-13 FG, 1-5 3PT, 8-10 FT), 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks in Sunday's scrimmage against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
In his second scrimmage, Nurkic saw 27 minutes of action as a part of a starting lineup that also included Hassan Whiteside. Nurkic struggled from the floor, but it was partially due to a rough night from beyond the arc. The Blazers hit just seven of 28 attempts from three as a team.
Jul 23, 2020
Productive in first scrimmage
Nurkic went for 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-2 FT) and eight rebounds in Thursday's scrimmage against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
In his first true game action since March of 2019, Nurkic looked like his old self, coming out aggressively and taking 10 shots in just 20 minutes of action. The big man hit six of those field goals and added one steal, one block and one assist to his team-high eight rebounds. It remains to be seen how the Blazers will split minutes at center, as Hassan Whiteside (Achilles) did not play Thursday.

Cleared to play
Nurkic (leg) has officially been cleared to participate when the NBA season resumes in Orlando, Sean Highkin of Bleacher Report reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, the layoff played to the favor of Nurkic, who missed all of the start to the regular season while recovering from a fractured leg. On a conference call Wednesday, coach Terry Stotts confirmed that both Nurkic and Zach Collins (shoulder) "look great", and he noted that Nurkic likely would have been cleared to return sometime in March or April. On the same call, Blazers guard Damian Lillard went as far as to say that he "absolutely" expects Nurkic and Collins to

Expected to play in Orlando
Nurkic (lower leg) is healthy and expected to play when the 2019-20 season resumes in Orlando, Jason Quick of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic was on the verge of practicing with the G League squad when the season was suspended. Once things pick up in Orlando, Nurkic will presumably take on a significant role with the team, though it's unclear how his minutes will be balanced with Hassan Whiteside's.
Mar 9, 2020
To practice in G League
Nurkic (leg) will practice in the G League this week before his expected return on Sunday against Houston, Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports Northwest reports.
ANALYSIS
The Blazers don't have their own G League affiliate, so Nurkic will practice with the Santa Cruz Warriors a few times this week in an effort to help him move toward game shape. All indications are that Nurkic will debut on Sunday, but he'll likely face a minutes restriction and could be eased back into action -- especially given how well -- all things considered -- Hassan Whiteside has played for the Blazers this season.
Mar 6, 2020
Season debut set for March 15
Nurkic (lower leg) will make his season debut Mar. 15 against the Rockets, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports. "I'm ready to help my team make the playoffs," Nurkic told Yahoo Sports. "It's time."
ANALYSIS
Nurkic has been on the shelf for nearly a year following a severe lower leg injury. He returned to practice in late January and has been steadily progressing since then. Last season, Nurkic was a huge part of Portland's success, as he averaged career highs in points (15.6), rebounds (10.4) and field-goal percentage (50.8), not to mention 3.2 dimes, 1.4 blocks and 1.0 steal. He'll presumably see limited minutes for his first few games while he gets back into the flow of real game action. Presumably, Nurkic will come off the bench behind Hassan Whiteside, who is having a bounceback 2019-20 campaign.

Remains sidelined
Nurkic (lower leg/calf) is listed as out for Saturday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic initially looked on track to make his season debut at some point shortly following the All-Star break when he was cleared for full practices in late January, but his progress has since been stalled after he strained his right calf in one of his workouts. While the injury is to the opposite leg in which he sustained compound fractures last March, the calf issue is significant enough to keep him off the court. With no reports indicating that Nurkic practiced at any point in February, he looks to be multiple weeks away from playing in games. Considering the 26-34 Blazers are three games off the pace for the eighth seed in the Western Conference, there's a real possibility the organization errs on the side of caution and shuts Nurkic down for the season if Portland falls out of the playoff picture.
Feb 10, 2020
No timeline for return
Nurkic (leg/calf) remains without a firm return timetable, Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports Northwest reports.
ANALYSIS
Prior to Sunday's game against the Heat, coach Terry Stotts was asked about Nurkic's status as the big man works back from a fractured left leg and a subsequent calf strain. "There's no timeline on Nurk when he's gonna come back," Stotts said. "He had a little set back. He had a mild strain in his right calf. So, the last week or 10 days, he really hasn't been able to do much, so that's kind of set back any kind of comeback." Nurkic will continue to rehab through the All-Star break, with the hope that he'll be able to return to practice sometime in the next few weeks. If that happens, Nurkic could conceivably make his season debut sometime in late-February or March.
Jan 31, 2020
Suffers calf strain
Nurkic (lower leg) suffered a calf strain "in the moments after his return to the full-court practice and contact practice," Jason Quick of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Quick also noted that he "[doesn't] know how serious it is" and that the Trail Blazers have been "tight-lipped" about the situation. Nurkic was on track to return likely sometime this month, but now it's unclear if that will be the case. More information may emerge in the coming days.
Jan 28, 2020
No firm target return date
The Trail Blazers have identified no clear target date for Nurkic's (lower leg) season debut, though the big man has been ruled out for at least another week, Jason Quick of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Nurkic seemed to tease an impending return after practicing fully last week, and while the activity certainly marked a notable step forward in his rehab, the development seemingly hasn't changed the Trail Blazers' approach with the center, who is 10 months removed from surgery to address compound fractures of the tibia and fibula in his left leg. At this stage, Portland simply wants to see how Nurkic's body responds to increasing his workload over a series of practices before sussing out a date for his 2019-20 debut. Once he's back in action, Nurkic will most likely be subjected to strict minutes limits and could be withheld from one half of back-to-back sets.
Jan 22, 2020
Takes part in full practice
Nurkic (lower leg) took part in full practice Wednesday, Jason Quick of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
This is another step in the right direction for Nurkic, who is working his way back from surgery he underwent last March to address compound fractures in his lower left leg. While he remains without a concrete timetable for his return, all signs are still pointing toward a February return for the big man.
Jan 9, 2020
On court for shootaround
Nurkic (lower leg) was in uniform and on the court for Thursday's shootaround, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
This is a significant step in Nurkic's recovery, though we don't know the full extent of his participation. More information on his timetable should continue to trickle in as he hits various other milestones in his recovery. His next step would likely be to take part in non-contact portions of a true practice. All signs are still pointing toward a February return.
