Looking ahead, it is hard to see him ever being a permanent starter but if nothing else comes of this season, he definitely still has a role to play no matter his eventual landing spot.

He can be utilized for streaming purposes on occasion, especially if and when Zubac misses time.

Plumlee ended Friday's 128-127 loss to Sacramento with 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-5 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and one block in 26 minutes.

Plumlee started for the second game in a row and the fourth time in the Clippers' last five contests, and he continues to produce when given a chance. The former Hornets big man is averaging 9.4 points with 11.4 rebounds per game in that five-game span.

Plumlee is starting at center against the Kings on Friday.

The Clippers are without Ivica Zubac (calf) for the third time in four games. Plumlee has been playing really well lately and is coming off a 20-rebound performance against the Warriors on Thursday.

Plumlee closed with 12 points (3-5 FG, 6-6 FT), 20 rebounds and two assists over 29 minutes during Thursday's 115-91 loss to the Warriors.

Plumlee started with Ivica Zubac (calf) sidelined and didn't disappoint, recording his second double-double over his last four outings and pulling down a season-high mark in rebounds. The veteran has shown he can produce when given minutes, but his role in the immediate future will be tied to Zubac's availability. Plumlee is averaging 8.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in six appearances with Los Angeles.

Plumlee will join the first unit for Thursday's meeting with the Warriors, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.

If Zubac is able to return Sunday against Denver, Plumlee will likely see his minutes go back to the teens.

Ivica Zubac (strained right calf) will not play Friday and is considered day-to-day. Plumlee's fantasy managers were spoiled by his days as a starting center for Charlotte and are surely looking forward to this opportunity.

With that said, it does appear as though he will have a consistent role for his new team, soaking up all of the backup center minutes. While managers in standard formats can safely move on, he could still have some deep league appeal thanks to his ability to contribute across multiple categories.

Plumlee is having the best season of his career, but he's been on a whole new level since the start of January, with 10 double-doubles in 16 games in that stretch. The veteran big man has also scored in double digits in nine games in a row and has notched 22 double-doubles on the campaign. What happens in the trade deadline will determine his value for the final weeks of the regular season and the fantasy playoffs, but right now, he's been a solid player across all formats and the numbers back that up.

Plumlee chipped in 14 points (7-12 FG, 0-2 FT), 14 rebounds, five assists and one block over 31 minutes during Tuesday's 124-115 loss to the Bucks.

Plumlee cobbled together another strong performance despite the loss, racking up his 21st double-double of the season. Of course, the free throws remain an issue but anyone rostering him should be fully prepared for that. What happens beyond the trade deadline is a bit of a mystery but until then, managers should continue to roll him out there with confidence.

Plumlee was perfect from the field and missed his only shot of the day at the free-throw line. He's now secured seven double-doubles through 13 January appearances and continues to be most valuable to fantasy managers in the scoring and rebounding categories, though he's also shown that he can make an impact as a passer.

Plumlee supplied 17 points (6-10 FG, 5-6 FT), six rebounds and four assists in 25 minutes during Tuesday's 128-97 loss to the Suns.

Plumlee did his usual damage in the scoring column in a blowout loss, though he was held to his lower rebound total since Dec. 21. Despite a slow night on the glass, he continues to serve as a reliable contributor across the board and is averaging 19.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists over his last five games.

Plumlee finished Monday's 120-102 loss to Utah with 18 points (5-6 FG, 8-11 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and one block in 26 minutes.

Plumlee came up just two rebounds away from securing another double-double, and it would've been the seventh time he accomplished that feat in this month alone. A strong two-way threat who's having a career-best season, Plumlee is averaging career-high marks in both points (12.0) and rebounds (9.8) while tying his career-best output in assists (3.6) through 48 appearances so far.

Plumlee totaled 25 points (11-14 FG, 3-4 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists and one steal across 29 minutes during Saturday's 122-118 victory over the Hawks.

Plumlee was a dominant force once again Saturday, continuing what has been arguably the best season of his career. Somehow, he has been a top-40 asset over the past month, despite shooting just 65 percent from the free throw line. With the trade deadline approaching, there is a chance he is moved to another team to open up minutes for both Nick Richards and Mark Williams. However, until that time, managers should simply sit back and enjoy the ride.

Plumlee finished with nine points (4-10 FG, 1-2 FT), 16 rebounds and one assist in 33 minutes during Saturday's 122-106 loss to the Celtics.

Plumlee came up just one point shy of another double-double. His 16 boards were a game high, and he continues to be a must-roster player in just about all leagues. The veteran center is averaging career highs in points (11.3), rebounds (9.8) and even free-throw attempts (4.3), which goes to show his increased involvement in the offense this season.

Plumlee amassed 16 points (6-6 FG, 4-6 FT), 15 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 35 minutes during Thursday's 124-114 loss to the Raptors.

Plumlee was at it again in the loss, notching his fifth double-double in his past seven games. He has exceeded 30 minutes in four straight games, putting up top-35 value over the past two weeks. While his role on the rebuilding Hornets may not make perfect sense, it appears the coaching staff are more than happy to have him out there, no matter the state of play. Until we see a decline in his role, Plumlee is a clear must-roster player across all formats.

Plumlee ended with 21 points (9-10 FG, 3-5 FT), seven rebounds and three assists across 33 minutes during Tuesday's 132-120 loss to the Raptors.

The veteran center saw his streak of games with double-digit rebounds end at five, but he made up for it by scoring more than 20 points for only the second time this season, with both performances coming in the last six games. Trade rumors are circling around Plumlee's head, not surprising considering his expiring contract and the Hornets' woeful record, but he's doing what he can to heighten his value. Since the beginning of December, he's averaging 13.5 points, 10.1 boards, 3.1 assists and 0.9 blocks while shooting 71.8 percent from the floor.

Plumlee finished Friday's 138-109 victory over the Bucks with 17 points (8-9 FG, 1-3 FT), 15 rebounds, six assists and one steal across 31 minutes.

Plumlee recorded his third double-double in the past four games, having his way with a Bucks frontcourt that simply didn't turn up to play. Despite a couple of glaringly obvious fantasy flaws, Plumlee has been a top 55 player over the past month, averaging 12.9 points, 3.2 assists and 10.0 rebounds, all while shooting 72.6 percent from the field. He isn't going to be for everyone given his struggles from the free throw line but there is absolutely no way he should be on any waiver wires, at least for the foreseeable future.

Plumlee supplied 18 points (6-7 FG, 6-11 FT), 14 rebounds, four assists and two blocks across 33 minutes during Monday's 121-115 loss to the Lakers.

Plumlee continued to provide an impactful presence down low for Charlotte, finishing with his second straight double-double and 13th such effort this season. The veteran big man struggled from the charity stripe but missed just one of his seven attempts from the field and finished third on the Hornets with 18 points. In his age-32 campaign, Plumlee is enjoying one of his best NBA seasons, as he is on pace for per-game averages of 10.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 63.6 percent from the field. He can be a free-throw drain in fantasy, but he's nonetheless worth a roster spot in standard nine-category formats.

Plumlee finished Saturday's 123-106 loss to Brooklyn with 22 points (9-14 FG, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal across 30 minutes.

Plumlee has been a consistent performer for a struggling Hornets team, and the big man has scored in double digits in seven of his last eight outings while also grabbing at least eight rebounds in five outings in a row. Plumlee is not going to deliver eye-popping stats, but he averaged 12.7 points with 9.6 rebounds per game in December, meaning he's a walking double-double threat every time he steps on the court.

Plumlee ended Tuesday's 110-105 loss to the Warriors with seven points (3-4 FG, 1-4 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists, four blocks and one steal across 29 minutes.

Plumlee was effective against Golden State's interior Tuesday. He broke a streak of six games without a double-digit rebound total, but also ended a five-game streak of double-digit scoring with seven points in the loss.

Plumlee accumulated 18 points (7-9 FG, 4-6 FT), three rebounds, one assist and two steals in 26 minutes during Wednesday's 126-105 loss to the Clippers.

Plumlee scored in double-digits for the third straight game, adding a pair of steals for good measure. Despite a limited fantasy game, Plumlee has been able to maintain 12-team relevance this season, especially when punting three-pointers and free throw percentage. If and when he is replaced in the starting lineup, Plumlee will likely fall off the standard league tree but until then, keep rolling him out there on a nightly basis.

Plumlee totaled 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-4 FT), 18 rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 141-134 overtime loss to Detroit.

Plumlee turned in a neat shooting line and also led his team with 18 boards. He secured eight of his 18 rebounds in the fourth quarter, with five coming on the offensive glass. Plumlee has now recorded double-digit rebounding totals in six of his last seven appearances.

Plumlee logged seven points (2-5 FG, 3-3 FT), 12 rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal over 26 minutes during Sunday's 131-113 loss to the 76ers.

Plumlee recorded double-digit rebounds for the 15th time in his last 21 games. Over that span, he's averaging a double-double with 10.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. The 32-year-old also dished out five assists Sunday and is averaging a career-high 4.1 assists per game through 27 games.

Plumlee supplied 13 points (6-9 FG, 1-1 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals over 30 minutes during Saturday's 105-96 loss to the Bucks.

Plumlee's best production came in the second quarter where he collected five points on 2-of-3 shooting from the field, along with four rebounds and two steals. He added just four points in the second half but did collect another seven boards to give him a game high 11 on the night as the Hornets fell to Milwaukee. Plumlee has now recorded a double-double in back-to-back games and has nine of them on the season. He also grabbed two steals Saturday for just the third time in his 2022-2023 campaign.

Plumlee ended Friday's 117-116 win over the Wizards with 17 points (5-10 FG, 7-9 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and one block across 35 minutes.

Plumlee saw a few more minutes than usual in the win over Washington. He capitalized by shooting the ball efficiently and grabbing double-digit rebounds for the third time in four games. The veteran big man is also averaging a career-best 4.1 assists per game. Inconsistency is usually the issue with Plumlee, but he continues to be a decent streaming option in most standard leagues.

Plumlee posted four points (2-5 FG, 0-2 FT), four rebounds and five assists over 27 minutes during Monday's 140-105 loss to the Celtics.

Plumlee was unable to have an impact in the loss, continuing what has been a poor few games. Unfortunately, his numbers typically fluctuate from one game to the next, prohibiting him from crossing the threshold from streamer to must-roster.

Although Plumlee is an effective rebounder, the points he leaves on the table at the free-throw line could have been the difference in several of Charlotte's narrow losses.

Despite having arguably his best game of the season on Tuesday, Plumlee was the albatross in the room Thursday, with Miami being too fast and space-oriented for the big man to be successfully utilized. Montrezl Harrell and P.J. Washington each logged over 40 minutes and have better rest-of-season outlooks than Plumlee.

Over his last 10 games, the veteran big man has averaged 7.7 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 27.0 minutes.

Plumlee closed with eight points (3-4 FG, 2-2 FT), 17 rebounds, six assists and one steal over 38 minutes during Friday's 117-114 victory over the Lakers.

Plumlee was a beast on the boards and efficient from the field, but fell one field goal shy of notching his fifth double-double. The big man also displayed his playmaking ability by dishing out six-plus assists for just the fourth time this season. Over his last eight games, Plumlee has averaged 7.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 27.0 minutes.

Plumlee is locked in as the starting center in Charlotte, and continues to receive steady playing time. However, his productivity has dwindled, with averages of 5.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 0.9 combined steals/blocks across January all marking monthly lows. Also, Plumlee -- a career 56.3 percent free-throw shooter -- is connecting at an embarrassing 35.9 rate on 2.2 attempts per game this season. The makes him a liability in crunch time down the stretch on a playoff contender. Fantasy managers can likely find better assets on the wire, even in deeper leagues.

On a positive note, he scored in double figures in nine of 13 March games.

Plumlee had an effective performance and contributed across the board, but he ended two rebounds shy of putting up what would've been his fourth straight double-double. The big man has been getting it done on both ends of the court of late, and even though he's not expected to become Detroit's go-to player on offense any time soon, he contributes enough to possess a high floor as a decent two-way player that can also sprinkle defensive or passing stats from time to time.

The 31-year-old recorded his third straight double-double, giving him 13 on the season. Plumlee is averaging 10.4 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists along with 0.9 blocks and 0.9 steals in 42 games this season. The eight-year center should continue to start and hover around 25-30 minutes a game the rest of the way.

Plumlee scored 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-4 FT) to go along with 10 rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block across 29 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Pacers.

Plumlee continued his steady level of production, notching his third double-double in his last four games. He's also been strong defensively, notching at least one block in 12 of his last 15 contests. The downside to Plumlee's production has been his struggles from the free-throw line, as he's shooting only 65.3 percent from the charity stripe on the season.

Plumlee scored 12 points (3-4 FG, 6-8 FT) while adding 10 rebounds, four steals, three assists and two blocks across 29 minutes during Sunday's loss to the Bulls.

Plumlee has been a beast on the boards this month grabbing double-digit rebounds in six of eight contests. He's also contributing on the defensive side, blocking a shot in seven games and swiping a pass in five of the eight March outings. Plumlee won't add much in terms of scoring but his other contributions should make fantasy managers happy.

Plumlee collected nine points (3-5 FG, 3-4 FT), 12 rebounds, two blocks and one steal in a 109-99 loss to the Spurs on Monday.

Plumlee continues to provide solid all-around numbers for fantasy managers. The center won't provide many big scoring nights, but his two-way play and playmaking ability have made him a strong player this season. Plumlee is averaging a career-high 3.8 assists per game, though Monday was his first contest without an assist this year.

Plumlee closed with 12 points (4-7 FG, 4-6 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists and one block in 28 minutes during Thursday's 114-104 loss to the Knicks.

Plumlee heads into the break as a top-100 player in 9-category formats, justifying the decision of many to take him with one of their final picks in drafts. While his role moving forward is a little unclear, his ability to facilitate the offense does give the Pistons another option on the offensive end and so for now, you are holding in all leagues and simply hoping he can hold onto the starting role, even once the tank begins.

Averaging a career high 28.3 minutes per game, Plumlee has excelled in his first season in Detroit by averaging 10.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks across 30 contests.

Plumlee finished with seven points (2-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 12 boards, four assists, and three blocks in 30 minutes of a 105-93 win against Orlando on Tuesday.

Plumlee's scoring dropped to the lowest total he's had this month, but he finished with solid numbers in other categories including his fifth game with double-digit rebounds in February. The veteran big man has established himself with solid play lately, and while he doesn't take many shots he is efficient with his shooting. He'll face the Pelicans on Wednesday.

Plumlee tallied 10 points (5-8 FG), 15 rebounds, six assists, two blocked shots and a steal across 34 minutes in Friday's 109-95 loss to the Grizzlies.

Plumlee is putting up career numbers in Detroit, mostly due to his promotion into a starting role. He's been a role player for most of his career and experienced a huge regression over his three years in Denver. He's now enjoying career-bests in minutes and rebounds and is on pace to meet his career-best 10.4-point average in 2016. With Blake Griffin likely headed out of town, the Pistons may test the open market for a suitable replacement, but in the meantime, Plumlee will continue to start.

Plumlee and the Pistons won't play the Mavericks on Wednesday after the game was postponed due to severe weather in Texas, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

He's been particularly impressive over his last nine outings, notching six double-doubles with averages of 13.6 points (on 69.7 percent shooting from the field and 76.2 percent shooting from the free-throw line), 9.6 boards, 3.7 assists, 0.9 blocks and 0.6 steals.

He makes for a fine speculative add in 12-team fantasy leagues or deeper, but he probably won't be available in most 14-teamers and beyond.

While hardly the most exciting stat line, Plumlee managed his first double-double as a Piston. He had seen his minutes decrease across his last two games as a result of foul trouble, though he managed to return to a normal workload and commit only one foul. In his first season in Detroit, Plumlee has put together a familiar stat line with his primary contributions coming in points and rebounds. However, he is averaging over one steal per game for the first time in his career -- though he has recorded none across his last four contests.

Plumlee tallied a season-high 15 points (7-10 FG, 1-3 FT), seven rebounds, four assists and two steals across 35 minutes Monday in the Pistons' 113-107 loss to the Heat.

Though Plumlee fouled out Monday, he still picked up significant minutes and was able to deliver one of his better lines of the season. The center's playing time has been all over the place of late, as he had received 28, 22, 26, 33 and 17 minutes over the preceding five contests. The wild fluctuations in Plumlee's role have made him tough to rely on in DFS, but he's still getting enough run to warrant rostering in most standard 12-team leagues. In category leagues, Plumlee has provided his biggest impact for fantasy managers in field-goal percentage (54.4 percent on 6.1 attempts per game), assists (3.5 per game), rebounds (8.7) and steals (1.5).

Plumlee scored seven points (3-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT) while adding 13 rebounds, five assists and two steals in 22 minutes during Wednesday's 110-101 loss to the Bucks.

He wasn't able to do much scoring matched up against Brook Lopez, but Plumlee led both teams in rebounding on the night and once again flashed surprising distribution skills. The 30-year-old has been an asset in deeper fantasy formats this season despite his lack of offense, but if the rebuilding Pistons decide rookie Isaiah Stewart is ready for a larger role, Plumlee's minutes and production could take a hit.

Plumlee is even shooting 80.0 percent shooting from the foul line, which would be by far his best-ever mark from the charity stripe.

Plumlee has failed to reach double-digit points in four of five games this season, though he's had plenty of success chipping in elsewhere. Notably, he's now had at least eight rebounds in every contest to this point, including 10 more in each of his last three efforts. Plumlee has also averaged 1.6 steals per game in the early going.

Plumlee had nine points (4-4 FG, 1-1 FT), 12 rebounds, six assists and three steals during Monday's 128-120 loss to the Hawks.

Plumlee's been a pleasant surprise to begin his first season with Detroit. He is averaging 9.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals across 33.0 minutes. It remains to be seen if Plumlee can maintain these numbers despite having never averaged above 26.5 minutes in a season over his seven-year career.

The signing of Plumlee was a bit of a head-scratcher considering Detroit's youth movement, and packing Christian Wood's bags for Houston was even more puzzling. Nevertheless, it appears that Plumlee will slide into a starting role in Detroit, a position that has eluded him throughout his seven-year career. It's possible that Jahlil Okafor could push him for playing time in the future, but right now, the job at center is his to lose.

Plumlee signed a three-year, $25 million contract with the Pistons on Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Given that Plumlee is 30 years old and the Pistons are rebuilding, this contract is somewhat bizarre, but it could indicate the Pistons aren't interested in retaining Christian Wood. If Plumlee can find himself in a legitimate starting role, he'll have fantasy value. When seeing over 24 minutes last season, the center averaged 11.2 points on 63.4 percent shooting, 7.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks.

Plumlee didn't see a lot of playing time in the blowout defeat, as Nuggets coach Michael Malone opted to play some of the team's younger big men such as Bol Bol. Plumlee has yet to earn more than 13 minutes in any of the first three playoff games, and as a result he likely has limited appeal for fantasy purposes.

The 29-year-old has supplied exactly four assists in five of those six games while hitting double figures in scoring four times, including each of the last three.

Plumlee pitched in solid counting stats while providing efficient scoring. Occasionally he will end up essentially splitting time with Nikola Jokic, but both are strictly centers, so even on a night like this when Paul Millsap (knee) is held out it doesn't necessarily translate into more playing time for Plumlee.
