The non-contending Rockets could choose to hold Tate out for the rest of the season, so Eason looks like he'll continue to remain worthy of rostering in most leagues over the next two weeks.

The rookie first-round pick continues to garner a backup role to fellow rookie Jabari Smith, which has limited Eason's overall fantasy potential this season. However, the LSU product is still capable of strong performances on any given night and is averaging 11.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 steals in 22.2 minutes over his last 15 games.

The former LSU star has been making the most of his minutes off the bench of late, as he has scored in double digits in four of his eight February contests despite averaging just 19.3 minutes per game in that span. That said, he doesn't have value in standard formats and should only be considered as a streaming option in deeper leagues.

Eason's fantasy managers were probably hoping for more from him considering the Rockets dumped Eric Gordon at the trade deadline. However, Eason's role hasn't increased yet, and his workload Monday was his highest since Feb. 4 when he saw 25 minutes. For at least the short term, Eason is more of a defensive specialist in fantasy formats.

Eason accumulated 20 points (8-21 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 13 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and three steals across 19 minutes during Wednesday's 112-106 win over Oklahoma City.

Eason returned to the bench with Alperen Sengun back in the lineup, but he set career-highs in both points and rebounds with 12 of those boards coming on the offensive end. This was quite the line in only 19 minutes of action, and his fantasy appeal continues to trend up with three straight double-doubles. The Rockets have a back-to-back coming up on Friday and more minutes could be opening up for Eason with Jabari Smith Jr. leaving Wednesday's game with an injury to his ribs.

His playing time has been underwhelming all season long, and so we would need to see multiple games of 20+ minutes before buying into the hype.

The Rockets fell to their 13th straight loss Saturday, although at least we got to see more than 20 minutes for Eason. Moving into the starting lineup for the first time in his career, Eason certainly didn't disappoint. The lack of defensive production was a little underwhelming, but the fact he came within one rebound of his second career double-double should be seen as a positive. There is no word on how long Jabari Smith will be out with his ankle injury, but until he does return, Eason is worth taking a flier on, especially if he sticks in the starting lineup.

Though Eason's playing time and numbers aren't adequate to make him a must-roster player in fantasy, the rookie has flashed the potential to be a valuable contributor to a young Rockets squad. He's blocked at least one shot in five of his past six contests and is averaging 6.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks while shooting 54.5 percent from the field in just 18.0 minutes per game over that stretch.

Eason finished Saturday's 108-88 loss to the Knicks with nine points (4-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 0-1 FT), 13 rebounds, one assist, one block and three steals over 24 minutes.

For anyone not sitting atop the standings, Eason is a very tough player to hold, at least for the foreseeable future.

While he remains a luxury stash across 12-team leagues, his immediate value is quite precarious. Given the uncertainty, he should only be rostered by those in a comfortable position.

Eason's played a fairly consistent role as a key bench contributor for the Rockets, but his results have varied by the game. Overall, the rookie has produced more positives than negatives during his time on the floor, and efforts like Monday's output should continue to keep him on the radar in most fantasy formats. While Eason is around the 150 mark in per-game fantasy production, he ranks inside the top 30 in per-36 output, so there's plenty to like about the rookie.

Eason saw extended playing time in the blowout loss, piecing together the first double-double of his career. While this was a strong performance on the surface, the lack of peripheral production has to be accounted for. Despite some clear upside, Eason's role is far too inconsistent to warrant the attention of standard league managers, other than as a luxury stash for anyone sitting atop their standings.

While the upside is clear, the coaching staff is simply not comfortable putting him out there when it counts. If you are in need of immediate production, clearing his roster spot for streaming purposes makes sense.

Eason has displayed an intriguing fantasy skill set since the preseason, but earning enough minutes to consistently deliver useful stat lines has been his main issue thus far during his rookie campaign. Though he didn't get a dramatic uptick in playing time Sunday, Eason nonetheless came through with perhaps the best all-around performance of his young career. While the performance puts Eason on the radar as a potential pickup in 12- or 14-team category leagues where he's available, he might not see a jump in minutes from this level unless head coach Stephen Silas elects to scale back opportunities for the likes of Jabari Smith, Kenyon Martin and Eric Gordon. Eason has suited up in every game for the Rockets this season, playing anywhere from 12 to 24 minutes.

Eason finished Monday's 122-106 loss to the Clippers with nine points (4-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds and two steals in 15 minutes.

Eason racked up another two steals in the loss, having now recorded at least one in each of his last 12 games. Unfortunately, the good news ends there as his minutes took a hit despite the game going into garbage time. He has played at least 20 minutes in three of his past four games prior to Monday and so anyone who added him might want to give him at least one more game.

Eason provided 17 points (6-8 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one steal across 24 minutes during Saturday's 129-117 loss to the Timberwolves.

Eason eclipsed 20 minutes for just the second time this season, rolling out his best performance thus far. Before managers get too excited, it should be noted that both Jabari Smith and Jae'Sean were missing. We've seen enough from Eason to keep him rostered in deeper formats, while those in standard leagues should view him as more of a luxury stash at this point.

Eason chipped in six points (3-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal in 18 minutes during Wednesday's 109-101 loss to the Clippers.

Eason returned to form on the defensive end following a few uninspiring performances over his last few contests. While his scoring output was less than desirable, he swatted three shots for the second time this season and also collected a steal for his seventh consecutive game.

Eason managed very little during his 15 minutes on the floor, continuing what has been a frustrating start to the season. Seen as a potential breakout candidate, Eason was taken in the final rounds of most drafts, on the back of strong performances in both the Summer League and the preseason. Unfortunately, his role has not eventuated as hoped and at this stage, he should be viewed as more of a stash candidate for those who can afford an unproductive roster spot.

Monday night marked his third consecutive double-double to go with excellent complementary stats. The LSU product will be a rookie worth monitoring on a Rockets team that will likely throw him into the regular rotation right away.
