His 83.9 percent minute share is a top-200 mark in the country, which combines with his foul drawing and rebounding prowess to create a high nightly floor. He's using 26.2 percent of Providence's possessions when he's on the court, so his uptick in scoring production is a welcome sight for the Friars and fantasy managers alike.

Hopkins recorded 10 points (2-9 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 6-11 FT), eight rebounds and two steals over 30 minutes during Saturday's 79-69 victory over Milwaukee.

Hopkins inability to convert from beyond the arc or at the free-throw line made for a lackluster offensive showing. After making a leap to 75.9 percent free-throw shooting on 5.8 attempts per game last season, Hopkins' struggles on Saturday can likely be viewed as an outlier. Tuesday against Wisconsin will yield Providence's first true test of the season.

Hopkins will not transfer away from the program, opting to return for another season. The 6-foot-7 forward led the team in points (15.8) and rebounds (8.5) per game last season. Hopkins started in all 33 of his appearances in his first year with the team after transferring from Kentucky.

Logging all 40 minutes, Hopkins knack for drawing fouls was on display. Despite an overall mediocre game, Hopkins regular season was a rousing success in totality. The Kentucky transfer contributed 16.1 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Hopkins scored just six points, tying his season low, in Sunday's 88-68 romp at Georgetown.

Hopkins collected three fouls in the game's opening four minutes, and with that was a spectator for the remainder of the first half. Providence didn't need Hopkins in this game, as the overmatched Hoyas offered little resistance. A little load management never hurts, especially this close to the Big East and NCAA Tournaments.

For the second straight game, Hopkins' volume was limited offensively. Defenses have zoned in on the 6-foot-7 matchup nightmare. Nonetheless, Wednesday marked his fifth straight game exceeding 15 points. Hopkins is riding a hot streak from three over that span, connecting on 55.0 percent (11-of-20) of his attempts.

Hopkins had 29 points (10-20 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 6-7 FT), nine rebounds, one block and two steals across 36 minutes during Saturday's 73-68 loss to St. John's.

Hopkins torched St. John's, accounting for nearly half of Providence's points. Unfortunately, he was the only Friar cooking, as his teammates combined to shoot 4-of-20 from beyond the arc. Hopkins' scoring versatility is legit, as the 6-foot-7 sophomore is a menace in transition and has been among the nation's most efficient post-up threats.

Hopkins produced 13 points (5-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, four assists and one block over 36 minutes during Sunday's 70-65 win over Villanova.

Hopkins was held under 16 points for the first time across Providence's last five contests, as strong Villanova defense limited fouls on the mismatch forward. Even when he doesn't boom, Hopkins gravity is pivotal to the Friars' success. He's among the front of the pack for Big East POTY honors.

Hopkins produced 19 points (9-16 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 10 rebounds and four assists over 38 minutes during Wednesday's 83-75 loss to Marquette.

Hopkins was able to play in spite of his availability being a game-time decision. He has six double-doubles across Providence's 11 games from Dec. 3 to Jan. 18. During that span, Hopkins averaged 17.6 points and 10.2 rebounds.

Over the last five games Hopkins is putting up 20.0 points, 12.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per contest. He is well on his way to earning Big East First-Team honors.

Hopkins has now logged two 20-point contests and three double-doubles across his last four games. The sophomore transfer from Kentucky has a featured role for the Friars, averaging 15.7 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in 32.0 minutes per contest.

Hopkins is the latest portal pickup in a busy offseason for the Friars, who are expected to bring back only one starter (Jared Bynum) from last season's Sweet Sixteen squad. As a true freshman at Kentucky in 2021-22, Hopkins appeared in 28 games but averaged just 6.5 minutes per game. Expect the 6-foot-6, 220-pound wing to challenge for a starting role as a sophomore with the Friars and see a big jump in playing time regardless of whether he fills a full-time role on the top unit or comes off the bench.

Hopkins appeared in 28 games at Kentucky last season, averaging just 2.1 points across 6.5 minutes. The former top recruit will now explore his options in the transfer portal.
