Kaliakmanis intends to enter the transfer portal, according to his announcement Tuesday.

Kaliakmanis significantly boosted his output during 2023. He logged 156 completions for 1,838 passing yards and a 14:9 TD:INT ratio across Minnesota's 12 regular-season games this year. But after the Gophers finished last in the Big Ten West standings, Kaliakmanis will look to use at least one of his two eligible seasons elsewhere.

Kaliakmanis completed 11 of 19 passes for 89 yards and one interception during Saturday's 37-3 loss versus Ohio State. He also had seven rushes for three yards.

Kaliakmanis had a rough game against Ohio State, as the Buckeye defense held the redshirt sophomore quarterback to under 100 total yards on the day and forced a turnover. Kaliakmanis will hope to turn things around in Minnesota's season finale against rival Wisconsin.

Kaliakmanis was 18-for-42 passing for 292 yards and three touchdowns during Saturday's 49-30 defeat to Purdue. He also had five rushes for zero yards.

Kaliakmanis had a nice showing against the Boilermakers, throwing for a season-high 292 yards and finding the end zone three times for the second consecutive game. The redshirt sophomore completed just 43 percent of his passes, however, something he will certainly hope to improve next week in a tough matchup against Ohio State.

Kaliakmanis' third score of the day, a 31-yard pass to senior receiver Daniel Jackson, gave the Golden Gophers the lead with just under six minutes remaining, only for the Illini to score the game-winner in the final minute. The sophomore quarterback will look to build on this performance against Purdue on Saturday.

Kaliakmanis was 14-for-22 passing for 200 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Saturday's 27-12 win versus Michigan State. He also had six rushes for negative one yard and a fumble.

Kaliakmanis had his most productive passing performance of the season, as he passed for higher than 8.1 yards per attempt for just the second time this season. He also had to play without top running backs Darius Taylor (undisclosed) and Zach Evans (undisclosed); but, this didn't slow down the Golden Gophers' rush-heavy offense, as redshirt junior Jordan Nubin toted the ball 40 times for 204 yards. Kaliakmanis also once again struck a strong connection with senior wideout Daniel Jackson (seven receptions, 10 targets, 120 yards, one touchdown). The redshirt junior signal-caller still struggled with turnovers, including his first fumble of the season. Kaliakmanis has now logged nine total touchdowns to eight total turnovers.

Kaliakmanis completed 10 of 25 passes for 126 yards during Saturday's 12-10 win over Iowa. He also had eight rushes for negative seven yards.

Kaliakmanis avoided making any costly turnovers in this defensive battle, earning him a win against Iowa's struggling signal-caller Deacon Hill (10-for-28 passing, 116 yards, one interception). The Golden Gophers' starter once again heavily relied upon WR1 Daniel Jackson (seven catches, 12 targets, 101 yards) while the team continued to lean into its running game between Darius Taylor, Zach Evans (undisclosed) and Sean Tyler, as these three logged 35 combined carries. Through seven starts in 2023, Kaliakmanis has completed 53.4 percent of his 161 passing attempts for 923 yards and six touchdowns to six interceptions. His inconsistency combined with a game-manager role will continue to make Kaliakmanis a no-go in fantasy.

Kaliakmanis completed 12 of 14 passes for 146 yards, two touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 35-24 victory versus Louisiana. He also had 10 rushes for 17 yards with one touchdown.

Kaliakmanis logged double-digit carries for the first time this season, as the Golden Gophers appeared to need his legs more with up-and-coming star running back Darius Taylor (leg) sidelined against the Ragin' Cajuns. The redshirt sophomore quarterback logged his highest yards per attempt (10.4) of any game this season while facing this Sun Belt opponent. Yet, he still coughed up an interception for the fourth time this season, and he's now totaled just seven touchdowns with his arm and legs through five starts. The Week 6 matchup against Michigan's dominant defense spells what should be a subpar statistical performance for Kaliakmanis.

Kaliakmanis got off to a strong start with two passing touchdowns through the first two quarters of Saturday's game, including an 18-yard hookup with wideout Daniel Jackson to put Minnesota up 21-7 just before the end of the first half. However, this offense stalled out in the second half, allowing the Wildcats to achieve a furious late-game comeback. The Golden Gophers' offense still appears to be placing training wheels on Kaliakmanis, as the team totaled 42 rushing attempts to just 19 passing attempts. They should have a chance to open up the playbook more when facing Louisiana-Lafayette this coming Saturday.

Kaliakmanis completed 11 of 29 passes for 133 yards and one interception during Saturday's 31-13 loss versus North Carolina. He also had five rushes for 26 yards.

Kaliakmanis logged a career low in completion percentage (37.9) as the Golden Gophers' offense never found its footing against the Tar Heels. The redshirt sophomore quarterback has now totaled one touchdown to three interceptions through the first three weeks of the season, and he has yet to pass for more than 200 yards in a game during that span. Kaliakmanis may still need more time to fully develop before he's ready to put up noticeable production in the Big Ten.

The first-year starting quarterback saw a much bigger role with 44 passing attempts during the season opener against Nebraska, though he was far more efficient against the Eagles. Kaliakmanis may need to play a bigger role again as Minnesota tries to keep pace with a dangerous North Carolina offense led by star quarterback Drake Maye.

Kaliakmanis was 24-for-44 passing for 196 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Thursday's 13-10 victory versus Nebraska. He also had six rushes for five yards.

Kaliakmanis struggled to consistently connect with his receivers for much of Thursday's victory. But, he delivered in crunch time with a touchdown pass to wideout Daniel Jackson, who made a toe-dragging catch in the corner of the endzone. The 6-foot-4 signal-caller also showed some poise with three straight completions on Minnesota's final drive of the game. Kaliakmanis set a new career-high in passing attempts, as the Golden Gophers didn't establish much of a rushing game while trailing for much of the contest. It's ultimately unlikely that Kaliakmanis averages anything close to this many passing attempts per game moving forward this season considering that Minnesota's offense is still built on the rushing attack. Therefore, it's fair to expect his passing attempts to come back down to earth next week versus Eastern Michigan.

Kaliakmanis may be in store for one more start this season if Morgan is still unavailable for the Golden Gophers' eventual bowl game in December.

The redshirt freshman backup then helped keep things on track for the Golden Gophers as they came back from a 10-0 first-half deficit. Kaliakmanis also completed two long passes of 38 yards to Dylan Wright and 45 yards to Daniel Jackson in the third quarter, while also providing a change of pace as a rushing threat. The 6-foot-4 backup should continue to step in under center if Morgan is unable to return this coming Saturday against a poor Northwestern defense.

Kaliakmanis was 9-for-22 passing for 175 yards during Saturday's 45-17 defeat against the Nittany Lions.

Kaliakmanis understandably struggled while making the first start of his career on the road against Penn State's attacking defense. While the redshirt freshman was held below a 50 percent completion rate, he managed to add a dynamic rushing threat for Minnesota's struggling offense. Kaliakmanis should continue to handle the Golden Gophers' starting duties so long as graduate senior Tanner Morgan (concussion) remains sidelined against Rutgers next week.
