Expected to start Saturday
Lewis is slated to start in Saturday's matchup with Wyoming, Chris Murray of NevadaSportsNet.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lewis is slated to start against the Cowboys following AJ Bianco's injury during Saturday's loss to Colorado State. The redshirt sophomore quarterback has appeared in all 11 games, throwing for 1,305 yards (129-of-233), two touchdowns and six interceptions.

Rebounds in relief appearance
Lewis was 18-for-24 passing for 169 yards during Saturday's 30-20 loss against Colorado State. He also had 14 rushes for 61 yards with a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Lewis was supplanted by AJ Bianco (side) as Nevada's starter last week, though he found himself forced back into action Saturday after Bianco departed in the second quarter. Lewis, a junior transfer from Colorado, was solid, completing 75 percent of his passes to help the Wolf Pack crawl out of a 20-3 hole while rushing for their lone offensive touchdown. Overall, Lewis has completed 55.4 percent of his throws this season for 1,305 yards, two touchdowns and six interceptions while adding 504 yards and four scores on the ground. It remains to be seen who will start Nevada's season finale next week vs. Wyoming, assuming Bianco is healthy.
Nov 6, 2023
Noncommittal on starter
Lewis has not been announced as Nevada's starter for Saturday's game against Utah State, Chris Murray of Nevada Sports Net reports.
ANALYSIS
Lewis has functioned as the Wolfpack's starting quarterback this season but following an uninspiring loss to Hawaii, head coach Ken Wilson wouldn't commit to a starter. Lewis and AJ Bianco split reps under center last week and it is likely they will continue to do so this Saturday against Utah State.
Nov 4, 2023
Uninspiring against Hawaii
Lewis (ankle) attempted nine passes for 36 yards during Nevada's 27-14 loss Saturday against Hawaii.
ANALYSIS
Lewis completed only one of his nine passes. He failed to log any touchdowns and logged a turnover once via fumble. Overall, Lewis finished Saturday with his worst log of 2023 thus far, even worse than AJ Bianco, who completed 33.3 percent of his 15 passes for 76 yards and an interception. Lewis has not been promising by any means. Thus, Week 11 may be the first time this year in which a Nevada quarterback change is more likely than not.
Oct 30, 2023
Expected to start Saturday
Lewis (ankle) is expected to be available for Saturday's matchup with Hawaii, Chris Murray of Nevada Sports Net reports.
ANALYSIS
Murray, who suffered a minor ankle injury during the second half of Nevada's 34-24 win over New Mexico, is expected to make a full return to practice Tuesday and suit up against Hawaii. The junior quarterback has logged 1,097 passing yards (109-of-197), two touchdowns and six interceptions, along with 415 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground across eight appearances this season.
Oct 29, 2023
Hurt in win
Lewis (undisclosed) completed 8-of-16 passes for 92 yards while rushing for 64 yards before suffering an injury in a win over New Mexico, Chris Murray of NevadaSportsNet.com reports.
ANALYSIS
While Nevada's now won their last two games, Lewis has only thrown for 190 yards with no touchdowns in that span. Overall, the redshirt sophomore has thrown for 1,097 yards with two touchdowns and six interceptions through eight games this year. If Lewis can't suit up next week vs. Hawaii, AJ Bianco would likely take over under center.
Oct 24, 2023
Struggles in low-scoring win
Lewis was 9-for-22 passing for 98 yards during Saturday's 6-0 victory over San Diego State. He also had 13 rushes for 40 yards.
ANALYSIS
Despite a mediocre performance from Lewis, the Wolf Pack were able to snap a 16-game losing streak thanks to a stellar defensive performance. Still, it's a disappointing effort from the quarterback Lewis, who threw for 287 yards in his previous outing vs. UNLV. He'll face a New Mexico defense next week that's allowed 248 yards per game through the air this season.
Oct 15, 2023
Better against UNLV
Lewis completed 16 of 31 passes for 287 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions during Saturday's 45-27 loss to UNLV. He also had 15 rushes for 115 yards with a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
After splitting reps with AJ Bianco in Nevada's previous game, Lewis delivered his best performance of the year as the Wolf Pack's starter, topping 200 air yards and 100 rushing yards for the first time this season. While Lewis' passing efficiency left room for improvement, he likely did enough to hang onto the starting job next week against San Diego State.
Oct 9, 2023
Remaining starter
Lewis will be the starting quarterback for Nevada's game Saturday against UNLV, Chris Murray of NevadaSportsNet.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lewis will remain Nevada's starting quarterback despite struggling throughout September. He finished the month with 76 completions and 56 carries for 816 all-purpose yards (620 passing and 196 rushing) and two touchdowns. However, Lewis logged both via carries and recorded a 0:4 TD:INT ratio across his five games. Ideally for him, he fares better in October.
Oct 2, 2023
Struggles Saturday
Lewis was 10-for-21 passing for 70 yards and two interceptions during Saturday's 27-9 loss to Fresno State. He also had 16 rushes for 25 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lewis struggled to get much going while alternating drives with freshman AJ Bianco on Saturday, completing less than half of his pass attempts while throwing a pair of interceptions in the fourth quarter. Lewis, a sophomore transfer from Colorado, has shown some running ability this season, tallying 196 yards on the ground with two touchdowns. However, he's struggled through the air, completing 59.4 percent of his passes for 620 yards with no touchdowns and four interceptions. Nevada could turn to Bianco as their starter against UNLV in Week 7, following a bye week.
Sep 19, 2023
Displays rushing ability
Lewis was 15-for-22 passing for 113 yards during Saturday's 31-24 loss against Kansas. He also had 11 rushes for 58 yards with two touchdowns.
ANALYSIS
While Lewis couldn't get much done through the air, averaging just 5.1 yards per pass attempt, he was able to contribute with his legs, rushing for a pair of scores. Lewis, a transfer from Colorado, has yet to throw for a touchdown this year while tallying 399 yards and an interception through his first three games with the Wolf Pack. Nevada will likely feature a run-heavy approach again Saturday against Texas State.

Struggles after return
Lewis (undisclosed) was 12-for-24 passing for 104 yards and one interception during Saturday's 33-6 defeat against Idaho. He also had nine rushes for 39 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lewis was shaken up after a first quarter scramble and missed a drive. He did return to the game for the second and third quarters, but struggled to get anything going. It may be rough for Lewis and the Nevada offense moving forward.
Sep 9, 2023
Exits game Saturday
Lewis (undisclosed) exited Saturday's game against Idaho in the first quarter, NevadaSportsNet.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lewis was shaken up after taking a large hit on a first-down scramble in the middle of the first quarter. It is unclear if the redshirt sophomore will re-enter the contest, and AJ Bianco has taken over for the Wolfpack.
Sep 2, 2023
182 passing yards vs. USC
Lewis was 18-for-29 passing for 182 yards during Saturday's 66-14 defeat against USC. He also had eight rushes for -15 yards.
ANALYSIS
The USC defense stifled the Colorado transfer for most of the game. Lewis was not able to get into a rhythm being sacked four times in the game. He should bounce back against Idaho next week.
Aug 28, 2023
Wins starting role
Lewis is listed as the starting quarterback ahead of Saturday's game against USC, Chris Murray of NevadaSportsNet.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After transferring from Colorado in the offseason, Lewis beat A.J. Bianco for the starting quarterback spot on the roster. Lewis is a former three-star recruit who appeared in 15 games for Colorado over three seasons, starting in the 2021 season.
Aug 4, 2023
Commits to Nevada
Lewis is set to transfer to Nevada, Chris Murray of Nevada Sports Net reports.
ANALYSIS
Lewis joins Nevada after three seasons with Colorado. The 6-foot-2 quarterback joins a multitude of players leaving Colorado this offseason. Lewis appeared in 15 games over his three years with the team and was the starting quarterback in 2021, passing for 1,540 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions in 12 games.
Oct 18, 2022
Puts name in portal
Lewis put his name in the transfer portal Tuesday, Matt Zenitz of On3.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lewis opened the season as Colorado's starting quarterback, but it seems that his time with the team is now up. Last season he threw for 1,540 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions.
Sep 17, 2022
Backing up Shrout again
Lewis will be the backup to J.T Shrout for a second consecutive week against Minnesota on Saturday, Adam Rittenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lewis and Shrout had another quarterback competition leading up to Saturday, and it ultimately fared the same as last week with Shrout beating him out. It seems as though the gap between the two still hasn't widened much, so Lewis could still certainly find the field of Shrout shows signs of any major struggles throughout the game.
Sep 9, 2022
Not in line to start
Lewis is expected to be the backup quarterback to J.T. Shrout for Saturday's game against Air Force, Brent Briggeman of The Colorado Springs Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Lewis and Shrout were locked into a quarterback battle throughout camp with Lewis getting the edge for the season opener against TCU. The sophomore had a pretty uninspiring performance, completing 13-of-18 passes for just 78 yards, while also accounting for 42 yards on the ground. Shrout also saw a good amount of run with the offense and had an overall better game. It seems as though no true starter has been decided by head coach Karl Dorrell and he may very well go with the hot hand until someone establishes themselves as No. 1 guy.
Sep 2, 2022
Announced as starter
Lewis was announced as the starting quarterback ahead of Friday's game against TCU, Brian Howell of the Boulder Daily Camera reports.
ANALYSIS
Both Lewis and J.T. Shrout took snaps with the first-team offense ahead of Friday's matchup, but Lewis was announced as the starting quarterback at the stadium ahead of the game. Although it looks like Lewis will begin the game under center, it wouldn't be surprising to see Shrout see some work at some point given the workload distribution during warmups.
Aug 27, 2022
No official starter for Week 1
Colorado coach Karl Dorrell said during his media availability Saturday that he would not name a starting quarterback between Lewis and J.T. Shrout ahead of the team's season opener against TCU, Tyler King of The Denver Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Lewis has competed with Shrout for the Buffaloes' No. 1 signal-caller job after the former fully recovered from a season-ending ACL suffered with Tennessee last August. The returning starter completed 149 of his 257 passes (58.0 percent) for 1,540 yards and a 10:3 TD:INT ratio over 12 games in 2021. It's possible that this battle could carry over into the regular season if neither quarterback manages to lock up the role over the team's first few games.
Nov 9, 2021
Puts together best game of season
Lewis completed 15 of 24 passes for 170 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 37-34 OT win over Oregon State. He also five times for 12 yards and a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Lewis' freshman campaign has been riddled with inconsistent play, but he put it all together with a great all-around performance in the narrow win. His improvement over the past two games may end up being the difference-maker regarding his future as the team's signal-caller because his early results were not encouraging.
Oct 31, 2021
Improved stat line in loss
Lewis completed 25 of 33 passes for 224 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 52-29 loss to Oregon. he also rushed nine times for 19 yards.
ANALYSIS
Although the Buffaloes were clearly outmatched against Oregon, Lewis had his best game of the season. The freshman has experienced severe growing pains in the starting role, but his totals against Oregon are encouraging. He completed 76 percent of his passes in the loss and also enjoyed his first three-touchdown game.
Oct 25, 2021
Suffers through abysmal outing
Lewis completed nine of 17 passes for 69 yards. and an interception in Saturday's 26-3 loss to Cal.
ANALYSIS
The Buffaloes look worse and worse with every outing, and Lewis is doing nothing to inspire confidence with his team. Through seven games, he's only thrown for 792 yards and completed 55 percent of his passes.
Oct 3, 2021
Overwhelmed by Trojan defense
Lewis completed 10 of 17 passes for 162 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Saturday's 34-17 loss to USC. He also rushed nine times for 13 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lewis was sacked five times in the loss, which was surprising considering USC's inability to sack a quarterback this season. The Buffaloes are a run-first squad, so it isn't surprising to see Lewis' numbers fall short every week, but even the running game had trouble getting off the ground. Lewis gets a week off before meeting Arizona in what could be a winning opportunity for Colorado.
Sep 26, 2021
Strussles in defeat
Lewis completed seven of 17 passes for 67 yards in Saturday's 35-13 loss to Arizona State. He also rushed 10 times for 39 yards.
ANALYSIS
Lewis will continue to be a poor source of fantasy totals in Colorado's one-dimensional offense that focuses around the run. His only solid performance came against Northern Colorado in Week 1.
Sep 20, 2021
Abysmal game in shutout
Lewis completed eight of 16 passes for 55 yards in Saturday's 30-0 loss to Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Minnesota's defense was relentless in chasing Lewis, and the pressure was too much for the freshman quarterback. The Buffaloes have only scored seven points over the past two games, and the sputtering offense may look to Drew Carter at quarterback if the problems persist.
Sep 11, 2021
Provides rushing value in loss
Lewis completed 13 of 25 passes for 89 yards and an interception in Saturday's 10-7 loss to Texas A&M. He also rushed nine times for 76 yards.
ANALYSIS
The Buffaloes had a plum chance to pull an upset after Haynes King went down with an injury. However, when you are a run-first team and lose your star running back in the third quarter. It's hard to take advantage. With Jarek Broussard sidelined, Lewis did all he could to keep Colorado in the game, but once the Aggies finally found the end zone in the fourth quarter, the team could not respond quickly enough.
Sep 4, 2021
Efficient in decisive win
Lewis completed 10 of 15 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 35-7 win over Northern Colorado. He also rushed eight times for 44 yards.
ANALYSIS
In true Colorado fashion, the rushing attack ruled the day in the victory. Lewis made no mistakes and handed the ball off to his playmakers, who had a scoring bonanza out of the backfield. Lewis is never going to wow you with stats due to the Buffaloes' offensive scheme, although he will pull off a rushing touchdown here and there. For fantasy purposes, he's a last resort on the waiver wire.
Aug 17, 2021
Set to open season under center
Following the major knee injury for JT Shrout, Lewis will start the opener under center against FCS Northern Colorado on Sept. 3, Brian Howell of the Boulder Daily Camera reports.
ANALYSIS
Lewis had been neck and neck with Shrout for the starting quarterback job to open the campaign, but Shrout's injury will exclude him from the competition the rest of the way. It's surely not the way Lewis had hoped to win the starting job, but he's now locked in under center, sporting very little experience to date. The freshman appeared in just one game last season, completing six of his 10 pass attempts for 95 yards while also running for 73 yards and a score on nine carries. Freshman Drew Carter and walk-on Jordan Woolverton are the only quarterbacks on the roster for the Buffs at this point, leaving the room thinned out a bit heading into 2021.
