McCulley announced Monday he will enter the NCAA transfer portal, Audrey Marr of The Hoosier Net reports.

McCulley, the leading receiver for the Hoosiers, has decided to seek a fresh start with a new program. The junior wide receiver led the team in all receiving categories with 48 receptions for 644 yards and six touchdowns this season.

McCulley compiled three receptions (on seven targets) for 72 yards during Saturday's 24-21 defeat versus Michigan State.

McCulley continued to compile big plays through the air, logging receptions of 10, 24 and 38 yards Saturday. As a result, the 6-foot-5 junior finished as the Hoosiers' leading receiver for the fourth week in a row, and he's totaled 372 yards on 23 receptions over this span. However, he failed to record a touchdown reception for the first time in four weeks. McCulley will look to get back into the end zone during the regular-season finale against in-state rival Purdue.

McCulley caught 11 of 13 targets for 137 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 48-45 overtime defeat to Illinois.

McCulley paced a prolific passing offense for the Hoosiers, as quarterback Brendan Sorsby went 22-for-33 passing for 289 yards and three touchdowns to one interception. The 6-foot-5 junior had more put on his shoulders due to the absence of fellow starting wideout Omar Cooper (undisclosed) while Cam Camper (knee) also missed his first game since being ruled out for the remainder of the season. As a result, McCulley logged season highs in targets and receptions en route to his first 100-yard receiving performance of the season. McCulley has now caught four touchdowns over the past three weeks, tallying 20 receptions on 27 targets for 300 yards over this span. He'll look to keep up this solid production versus Michigan State in Week 12.

McCulley totaled five receptions (on eight targets) for 67 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 20-14 victory against Wisconsin.

McCulley led the Hoosiers' receiving corps across the board for the second week in a row. The 6-foot-5 wideout also made one big play for the second time in as many weeks, as he climbed the ladder for a one-handed seven-yard touchdown catch just before halftime. This score put the Hoosiers up double digits at this point in the game, representing a significant contribution toward this upset win. McCulley has now caught 29 of 48 targets for 387 yards and three scores this season, including nine catches (on 14 targets) for 163 yards and two scores over the last two games. He'll look to keep up his increased production this coming Saturday against Illinois.

McCulley gathered in four of six targets for 96 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 33-24 defeat versus Penn State.

McCulley helped the Hoosiers keep pace with the Nittany Lions through the first 3.5 quarters of the game, recording a 69-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter. While the 6-foot-5 junior finished with a team high in targets and receptions, the vast majority of this production came on this touchdown play. With the Hoosiers still working through a midseason change at offensive coordinator, it's hard to imagine McCulley will continue to put up the same numbers moving forward through the last four weeks of the regular season.

McCulley (undisclosed) logged six receptions (on seven targets) for 79 yards and one touchdown during the Hoosiers' 44-17 loss Saturday at Maryland.

A questionable McCulley could have sat out the Hoosiers' matchup Saturday. Instead, he was their best receiver and logged his best game across September. McCulley finished the month having recorded 18 receptions for 208 yards, already more than those he logged during 2022.

McCulley heads into Saturday's contest with a questionable designation after playing in all four games up until this point. The injury he is dealing with is unknown. If he cannot play, expect Omar Cooper and E.J. Williams to see more work.

McCulley had four receptions (on eight targets) for 39 yards during Saturday's 21-14 loss to Louisville.

McCulley finished with four more targets than Indiana's next closest receiver, Cam Camper (four). However, he still finished behind running back Jaylin Lucas in terms of targets (12). McCulley should vie with Camper for a role as Indiana's WR1 going forward this season.

McCulley will switch from quarterback to wide receiver, according to Indiana play-by-play announcer Don Fischer.

As a true freshman in 2021, McCulley appeared in seven games as a quarterback, tossing for 475 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also added 135 rushing yards and two rushing scores. McCulley is a willing and able runner, and a fantastic athlete. At 6'5'', 210 pounds, he figures to be a contested-catch receiver and a redzone threat for the Hoosiers, but don't expect him to grab a starting role right away.

McCulley is working with the second-team offense in warmups for Saturday's game against Purdue, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Grant Gremel is set to start if warmups are any indication as he is working with the starters while McCulley gets loose with the second unit. McCulley appears to be available but Indiana may see what it has in Gremel, the third-year sophomore.

McCulley is warming up with the first-team center on Saturday, Zach Osterman of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Both Jack Tuttle and Michael Penix were not spotted pregame. McCulley struggled last time out against Rutgers, but will get another chance to go against Minnesota.

McCulley started Saturday against Rutgers and completed seven of 20 passes for 98 yards. He added 10 rushes for seven yards and lost two fumbles.

Indiana benched McCulley and gave both Grant Gremel and Jack Tuttle some playing time in an attempt to get the offense in gear after the freshman's struggles. Tuttle suffered another injury and Gremel completed 50 percent of his passes. Indiana's quarterback situation going into Saturday is uncertain, especially if Michael Penix is still sidelined.

McCulley is expected to start Saturday against Rutgers, according to Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star.

McCulley was spotted taking snaps from first-string center Dylan Powell, and that's usually a strong indicator that he will be the starter. However, Jack Tuttle (lower body) is also warming up and could be available if needed, according to Kevin Brockway of The Anderson Herald Bulletin. That said, all the signs point toward McCulley being under center to begin the contest.

McCulley went 10-for-24 for 88 yards against Michigan and added 37 yards on the ground. He also fumbled twice, losing one.

It was a tough test for the freshman making his second start. Michigan suffocated the Indiana offense all night as McCulley mustered just 3.7 yards per pass attempt. McCulley could get another start in a more favorable setup with a home game against Rutgers on tap. If Michael Penix (shoulder) is healthy, though, McCulley would likely move back to the bench.

This will be McCulley's second straight start with Michael Penix still sidelined. He threw for 242 yards and two touchdowns in his start against Maryland but gets a much tougher test Saturday.

The freshman looked okay considering that he is the third-string quarterback. He kept the offense moving and was able to produce in the passing game. Indiana may have a good future at quarterback.

With Michael Penix and Jack Tuttle sidelined, Indiana has to turn to McCulley to start on the road for his first career nod. McCulley had a brief appearance against Ohio State in Week 8, attempting six passes and 11 rushes.

McCulley and Grant Gremel are taking most of the reps in practice this week according to head coach Tom Allen, Kevin Brockway of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.

Michael Penix and Jack Tuttle are both working on their rehab, but it's not sounding like they will play this week against Maryland. McCulley seems to be the guy at this point based on the way coach Allen has talked about him.

McCulley could be in line to start next week against Maryland after Jack Tuttle exited Saturday's loss to Ohio State with injury, Matt Cohn off the Indianapolis Star reports.

McCulley stands alone as the only remaining scholarship quarterback on the Hoosiers' active roster after Tuttle's injury. He struggled in relief against the Buckeyes, completing 1-of-6 passes for 30 yards, while rushing the ball 11 times for nine yards. It's mind-blowing how Indiana quarterbacks have been decimated with injuries, leading to the strong possibility that McCulley could be making his first start Halloween weekend against Maryland.
