Finds end zone
Messer caught four passes for 43 yards and a score Thursday against MTSU.
ANALYSIS
With injuries dotting the Western Kentucky receiving corps, Messer has gotten the chance to be the number-two receiver behind Malachi Corley. It's going well so far, as Messer has a touchdown in three of his last four games, and the one where he did not score was against Ohio State.

Finds end zone
Messer caught six passes for 96 yards and a touchdown against Troy on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Messer showed out against Houston Christian, but that is an FCS team. He disappeared against Ohio State, so it is encouraging to see the redshirt freshman have a good game against an FBS team. With the injuries WKU is dealing with, Messer may be its number-two receiver right now.

Catches TD
Messer caught nine passes for 116 yards and a touchdown, and added an 18-yard rush, against HCU on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Messer led WKU in catches and receiving yards. A sign of things to come? No, not really. The Hilltoppers, frankly, took it easy on HCU. All the depth guys were seeing action at receiver, and Messer just happened to do the best job. Hey, maybe that will earn him more snaps going forward.
