Isaiah Jacobs Injury News & Updates

Jacobs will be out for the remainder of the 2023 season due to an ACL injury, Steve Irvine of Magic City Impact reports.

Jacobs missed the last two games against USF and UTSA due to the knee injury sustained during the loss against Tulane and is now set to miss the rest of the year. The redshirt sophomore running back finishes the season with 55 carries for 249 yards and three touchdowns in five games played. Jermaine Brown and Lee Beebe will see increased opportunities in his absence.

Jacobs (undisclosed) did not play during UAB's game Saturday against Texas-San Antonio.

UAB played multiple games without Jacobs available because of his ongoing injury. Currently, the running back's next opportunity to play is against Memphis on Oct. 21.

Jacobs (undisclosed) is questionable to suit up in Saturday's game against UTSA, Evan Dudley of Al.com reports.

Jacobs, who missed last week's matchup with USF, remains questionable to suit up against UTSA. The redshirt sophomore has appeared in five games this season, totaling 55 carries for 249 yards and three touchdowns, along with 17 receptions for 63 yards. If Jacobs is ultimately unable to suit up, Jermaine Brown, who scored four touchdowns against USF, would likely receive the bulk of UAB's carries again.

Jacobs has been the go-to option in the Blazers' backfield of late, amassing 18 carries for 95 yards and a pair of scores last week. Jermaine Brown could claim a heavier volume of the carries this week, though it's unclear who will spell him.

Jacobs tallied 18 rushes for 95 yards and two touchdowns and gathered in all three targets for 11 yards during Saturday's 35-23 defeat to Tulane.

Jacobs put together by far his best game of the season Saturday as he set season-highs in rushing attempts and yards and scored two touchdowns in a three-minute span in the second quarter. He once again split work with Jermaine Brown Jr., but Jacobs out-touched and out-performed his counterpart.

Jacobs accrued 10 rushes for 27 yards and hauled in four of six targets for 21 yards during Saturday's 49-21 loss to Georgia.

Jacobs led the backfield in touches again Saturday, but he was again not very effective. He accounted for 48 total yards and has not gone over 65 yards in four games this season. He set a season high with six targets and tied a season high with 10 carries which is a good sign heading into the start of conference play Saturday at Tulane.

Jacobs recorded nine rushes for 38 yards and hauled in all three targets for 10 yards during Saturday's 41-21 defeat to Louisiana.

Jacobs led all running backs and rushing attempts and yards Saturday but it was an uninspiring performance. He has failed to reach 50 yards on the ground in three games this season, but he nonetheless appears to be the go-to option. One positive worth noting is he has now hauled in 10 receptions on 10 targets this season.

Jacobs compiled eight carries for 47 yards and one touchdown and gathered in all three targets for 18 yards during Saturday's 49-35 loss versus Georgia Southern.

Jacobs yet again received fewer carries than Jermaine Brown, but out-rushed his teammate 47-34 and scored a touchdown. While Brown is likely to remain the starter barring an injury, Jacobs has carved out a sizable portion of the offense even as a backup.

Jacobs notched 10 rushes for 42 yards and four receptions for three yards during Thursday's 35-6 win versus North Carolina A&T.

Jacobs did not have the best performance in Thursday's season opener, although he did receive more touches than fellow running back Jermaine Brown. The pair split time throughout the game and while Jacobs saw four more touches, Brown was much more efficient and scored twice. It appears they will share the backfield for the near future.

Jacobs is in the transfer portal, Matt Zenitz of On3.com reports.

Jacobs ran for 116 yards this season with Maryland. He is the younger brother of Las Vegas Raider's running back Josh Jacobs. The younger Jacobs will have three more years of eligibility left.

Jacobs carried the ball four times for 20 yards in the game versus Kent State on Saturday.

Jacobs and Tayon Fleet-Davis both carved up the Kent State defense on the ground Maryland still preferred to do most of their damage through the air. As long as this pass-heavy approach persists, it will be very hard for Jacobs to have value.

Jacobs rushed the ball six times for 24 yards in the game against Illinois on Friday.

The running back is the clear backup to Tayon Fleet-Davis as until Jacobs can get some of the receiving work, he won't be able to be relevant.

Jacobs (toe) is on the depth chart for Friday's game against Illinois after resting last week, Ryan McFadden of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Jacobs didn't play last week against Howard due to a turf toe issue that head coach Mike Lockley wanted to rest ahead of the Big Ten matchup. He should be back in the mix Friday and is listed as the co-backup with Peny Boone behind Tayon Fleet-Davis.

Jacobs rushed the ball 14 times for 50 yards and caught three passes for 23 yards in the 30-24 win over West Virginia on Saturday.

Jacobs appears to be the primary backup to Tayon Fleet-Davis despite being listed below Challen Faamatau on the depth chart. The sophomore looked good in his depth role and will likely have some value given the amount of touches he gets even when Fleet-Davis is in the game.
