Performs poorly in relief
Lamson completed 4 of 16 passes for 42 yards and one interception during Saturday's 62-17 loss against Oregon State. He also had 17 rushes for 21 yards.
ANALYSIS
The loss of Ashton Daniels (hand) resulted in an immediate downgrade of Stanford's offense. If Daniels is forced to miss more time, the Stanford playmakers should all receive a downgrade. Lamson had a few moments of good play this season, but he delivered an abysmal showing on Saturday.

Used as running threat
Lamson completed his only pass attempt for 27 yards during Saturday's 10-7 victory versus Washington State. He also added 20 rushes for 54 yards and a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Stanford opted to play a two-quarterback system on Saturday, with Lamson being used primarily as a runner. Though he wasn't particularly effective in the yardage department, his did manage to find the end zone on the ground for the fourth time this season. Unfortunately, the sophomore quarterback is not a threat in the passing game as long as Ashton Daniels is the starter, and his 11 combined carries in the previous three games indicates this level of production is unlikely to continue.

Takes over in second half
Lamson was 7-for-17 passing for 138 yards and one interception during Saturday's 30-23 loss to Sacramento State. He also had nine rushes for three yards.
ANALYSIS
Stanford has a quarterback problem, and coach Troy Taylor doesn't seem to know how to fix it. He elected to pull Ashton Daniels despite a solid start but gave way to Lamson after he threw one pick. Lamson played fine in relief but not well enough to win, As Taylor fell prey to his former team.

Tepid as fill-in
Lamson was 8-for-18 passing for 121 yards during Saturday's 56-10 loss versus USC. He also had 16 rushes for 36 yards with one touchdown.
ANALYSIS
The old adage begins, 'If You can't say something nice...', and that certainly applies to Stanford in Saturday's loss. The team had some promise after an excellent first week from Ashton Daniels, but his injury took a bleak outlook to a disastrous one. Lamson did his best but couldn't get anything going for the Cardinal. He managed to run in a score against USC's bench defense late in the game, but given the deficit, the feat was inconsequential. The seriousness of Daniels' injury will determine whether we see Lamson under center again.

Two-way battle for starting spot
Lamson and Ashton Daniels both received first-team reps during Tuesday's practice, Jackson Moore of 247Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Lamson appeared to have the starting job in hand after receiving most of Stanford's first-team reps at fall camp last week, but the redshirt sophomore split reps with Ashton Daniels this week. Lamson, who joined the program this offseason after suffering a season-ending leg injury during the 2022 season with Syracuse, will continue to vie for the starting spot as Stanford approaches their season opener against Hawaii on Sept. 1.

Splits first-team reps
Lamson split first-team QB reps Wednesday, according to Jackson Moore of 247Sports.com.
ANALYSIS
Lamson will compete against Ari Patu, Ashton Daniels and Myles Jackson for Stanford's QB1 role, vacated after Tanner McKee declared for the 2023 NFL Draft. Each of the four quarterbacks will reportedly get an equal opportunity for one week before Stanford's coaching staff shortens its preferred choices to three or two.

Transferring to Stanford
Lamson committed to Stanford on Saturday, he announced on his personal Twitter account.
ANALYSIS
Lamson missed the entirety of the 2022 season after sustaining a non-contact leg injury during preseason practice. The former three-star recruit was expected to be Syracuse's second option at quarterback last season before going down but will have a chance to earn the starting role at Stanford. Considering his dual-threat ability, Lamson's a name to keep an eye on if he manages to beat out Ari Patu and Beau Nelson to become the Cardinals' starter.

Out for 2022 season
Lamson (leg) will miss the entirety of the 2022 season, Matt Park of Cuse.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lamson was set to be the backup quarterback for Garrett Shrader this season, but will instead be sidelined in 2022. The redshirt freshman had gotten increased action in the spring while Shrader was out with a hamstring injury, and started the spring game where he had seven complete passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns. He will now have to wait until his third year of college to earn the chance to be on the field, and his absence will likely promote JaCobian Morgan to the QB2 position.
