Four carries for 38 yards
Black (undisclosed) logged four carries for 38 yards during Saturday's 44-6 victory versus Connecticut.
ANALYSIS
Black did not have to sit out any games. However, he still received a limited number of carries compared to his average logged during September and October. However, Black's 38 rushing yards were not too below his usual average in that category and impressive considering the chances he got.

Suffers injury
Black suffered an undisclosed injury during James Madison's game Saturday at Georgia State, Jarvis Haren of WHSV News reports.
ANALYSIS
According to James Madison's head coach Curt Cignetti, Black got "dinged up" during the game, in which he only logged eight snaps. Currently, he remains without an update on his condition and is questionable as the Dukes prepare for their game against UConn on Nov. 11.

Stifled by Marshall
Black accrued 16 rushes for 33 yards during Thursday's 20-9 victory versus Marshall. He also caught one pass for five yards.
ANALYSIS
Black struggled to get anything going on the ground Thursday, as Marshall held Black and Ty Son Lawton to a combined 68 yards on 27 carries. Despite the inefficiencies, it was encouraging to see Black's workload increase, jumping up to 16 carries after only handling 11 in Week 7. On the year, Black is averaging 63.3 rushing yards per game with one rushing touchdown. However, he's scored thrice through the air while averaging 2.4 receptions for 21.3 yards per game.

Scores thrice
Black accrued 11 rushes for 45 yards and one touchdown and hauled in 3 of 5 targets for 38 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 41-13 victory versus Georgia Southern.
ANALYSIS
Black showcased his versatility Saturday, collecting more than 35 yards on the ground and through the air. He managed to find paydirt three times, hauling in two touchdown catches and punching in a rushing touchdown. While he continues to split work with Ty Son Lawton, Black should be considered the lead back for JMU.

Middling against South Alabama
Black totaled 19 rushes for 61 yards and hauled in 1 of 2 targets for three yards during Saturday's 31-23 victory against South Alabama.
ANALYSIS
While Black out-touched Ty Son Lawton 20 to 13 on the day, the JMU run game was stifled by South Alabama as they were held to just 3.0 yards per carry. Though Black hasn't rushed for more than 80 yards since his 125-yard performance in Week 1, he's managed to pull in at least three receptions in three of his last four appearances.

Surpasses 100 scrimmage yards
Black compiled 17 rushes for 76 yards during Saturday's 45-38 victory versus Utah State. He caught five passes for 43 yards.
ANALYSIS
Black tallied 119 all-purpose yards, marking his second consecutive contest crossing the 100-yard mark. Despite his efforts, Black was unable to find the end zone, leaving him with just one touchdown on the year. On the bright side, Black was the clear RB 1 on Saturday, receiving 16 more touches than Ty Son Lawton.

Showcases versatility
Black totaled 13 rushes for 78 yards during Saturday's 16-14 win against Troy. He also caught four passes for 42 yards.
ANALYSIS
Though Black handled one fewer carry than Ty Son Lawton he outgained Lawton 78 to 55 and managed to pull in four catches to Lawton's zero. After three games, Black has rushed for 228 yards on 37 carries while notching seven receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown.

Inefficient as lead back
Black logged 12 carries for 25 yards and hauled in 3 of 4 targets for 18 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 36-35 victory over Virginia.
ANALYSIS
Despite out-touching Ty Son Lawton 15-8, Black finished with just 43 total yards compared to Lawton's 79. The James Madison backfield appears to be shifting into a three-man committee, with Lawton and Latrele Palmer each seeing significant workloads, which caps Black's fantasy upside.

Dominates Bucknell
Black had 12 carries for 125 yards during Saturday's 38-3 win over Bucknell
ANALYSIS
Though Black was part of a two-man committee, he was the far more efficient back, outpacing Latrele Palmer (10 carries for 45 yards) by a wide margin. However, Black was unable to get into the endzone despite the Dukes scoring thrice on the ground.
