Another quiet outing
Kirk secured one of four targets for six yards in Sunday's 16-13 win over Tennessee in Week 11.
ANALYSIS
Since returning from a second hamstring injury this season three games ago, Kirk has caught just six of 15 targets for a quiet 35 yards. He was expected to be the No. 2 behind Nico Collins, but rookie Jayden Higgins (seven targets, four catches, 55 yards) surpassed Kirk for a second straight week. Over six games, Kirk has 16 catches on 31 targets for 144 yards and zero touchdowns.

Quiet day in win
Kirk caught one of three targets for three yards in Sunday's 36-29 win over Jacksonville in Week 10.
ANALYSIS
Kirk had a subdued effort in the win, and his 32 snaps were fewer than rookie Jayden Higgins, who had seven targets, five catches and a red-zone touchdown on 43 snaps. The Texans' other rookie wideout, Jaylin Noel (four targets, four catches, 35 yards), also outproduced Kirk over 25 snaps. It's been an unremarkable first season in Houston for Kirk, who missed four games with a pair of hamstring injuries. He's yet to find the end zone while failing to record more than 26 yards in four of five games played.
Nov 2, 2025
Snags four passes in return
Kirk caught four of eight targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 18-15 loss to the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
The veteran slot receiver saw his first action since Week 5 after recovering from a hamstring strain, and Kirk finished second on the Texans in targets while catching passes from both C.J. Stroud (concussion) and Davis Mills. The volume is encouraging, and Kirk has caught at least three receptions in all four games he's been healthy enough to play in this season. He'll still be a much less appealing fantasy option, even in PPR formats, if Stroud ends up sitting out a Week 10 contest against the Jaguars.

Ready to return Week 9
Kirk (hamstring) logged a full practice Friday and carries no injury designation heading into Sunday's game against the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Both Kirk and Nico Collins (concussion) were full participants Friday and enter Week 9 with no designation. Kirk missed the last two games and four overall this season due to a balky hamstring. That's limited him to 10 catches, 109 yards and zero touchdowns over three games.
Oct 30, 2025
Turns in full practice
Kirk (hamstring) was a full practice participant Thursday.
ANALYSIS
With a full session in tow, Kirk appears set to put an end to a two-game absence this Sunday versus the Broncos. Aside from Tank Dell (knee), the Texans project to have all of their key wide receivers available for the Week 9 matchup, as Nico Collins cleared concussion protocol after joining Kirk as a full practice participant Thursday. Over three appearances with the Texans this season, Kirk has put together a 10-109-0 receiving line on 16 targets.
Oct 29, 2025
Limited in practice
Kirk (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The same goes for Nico Collins, who also returned to practice after missing all of last week. Collins is still in concussion protocol but reportedly on track to gain clearance, which means Houston's WR room could be at full strength this Sunday against Denver. It remains to be seen if Collins and/or Kirk will progress to full practice participation Thursday.
Oct 29, 2025
Back at practice
Kirk (hamstring) and Nico Collins (concussion) returned to practice Wednesday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Texans may have their receiving corps back at full strength this Sunday against the Broncos, facing a defense that leads the league in sacks but will now be playing without reigning DPOY Patrick Surtain (pectoral). With Kirk and Collins absent last week, the Texans got solid showings from all of Jaylin Noel, Jayden Higgins and Xavier Hutchinson in a win over the 49ers.
Oct 24, 2025
Won't play this week
Kirk (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against San Francisco.
ANALYSIS
With Nico Collins (concussion) and Kirk both ruled out, the Texans are left with Xavier Hutchinson, Jayden Higgins, Jaylin Noel and Braxton Berrios as the favorites for playing time at wide receiver. Noel made a splash last week with four catches for 77 yards on seven targets in a 27-19 loss at Seattle, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be the main beneficiary in terms of playing time this week. Kirk, meanwhile, has now missed Weeks 1, 2, 7 and 8 with hamstring injuries.
Oct 24, 2025
Third straight DNP on Friday
Kirk (hamstring) remains a non-participant in practice Friday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk and Nico Collins (concussion) haven't practiced all week. Both wide receivers will presumably be ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers, though official confirmation won't come until the Texans release their injury report later Friday.
Oct 23, 2025
Another DNP on Thursday
Kirk (hamstring) isn't practicing Thursday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk remains sidelined by the hamstring injury he aggravated prior to Monday's loss to Seattle. Nico Collins (concussion) has also started Week 8 prep with back-to-back DNP designations, so rookies Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins could be set for expanded roles Sunday against the 49ers, along with fellow WRs Xavier Hutchinson and Braxton Berrios.
Oct 22, 2025
No return to practice
Kirk (hamstring) isn't practicing Wednesday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A mid-week addition to the Week 7 injury report, Kirk was ruled out Saturday for Monday's eventual loss to Seattle (in which No. 1 receiver Nico Collins suffered a concussion). Houston may now be without both Kirk and Collins this Sunday against the 49ers, which would leave more routes/targets for some combination of Xavier Hutchinson, Jayden Higgins, Jaylin Noel and Braxton Berrios.
Oct 18, 2025
Won't play against Seattle
Kirk (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Seahawks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk appeared to tweak his hamstring during Friday's practice, and the injury was severe enough to keep the veteran wide receiver off the field for Saturday's session and rule him out for Monday night's game. Kirk's absence opens the door for Xavier Hutchinson, Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel to see more offensive snaps and looks in the passing game from quarterback C.J. Stroud, especially if the Seahawks' defense home in on top wideout Nico Collins. Kirk will look to progress enough in his recovery to play in the Texans' Week 8 home clash against the 49ers on Sunday, Oct. 26.
Oct 18, 2025
Missing Saturday's practice
Kirk (hamstring) will not participate in Saturday's practice, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk popped up on Friday's practice report as a limited participant due to a hamstring injury. His downgrade to a DNP doesn't bode well for his chances of playing against the Seahawks on Monday, and his injury designation should be announced by the Texans following the conclusion of Saturday's practice. The Texans would turn to Xavier Hutchinson and rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel to take on larger roles in the offense behind top wideout Nico Collins if Kirk is not cleared to play against Seattle.
Oct 17, 2025
Added to injury report
Kirk (hamstring) was limited at practice Friday.
ANALYSIS
Kirk wasn't listed on Thursday's initial injury report, so his addition a day later is notable. Added context regarding his status will arrive no later than Saturday when the Texans post their Week 7 injury designations ahead of Monday night's game against the Seahawks. If Kirk is limited or out versus Seattle, Xavier Hutchinson, Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel would be candidates to absorb added snaps alongside top WR Nico Collins.
Oct 5, 2025
Narrowly misses out on TD
Kirk recorded four receptions on four targets for 64 yards in Sunday's 44-10 win over the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Kirk had his best day as a Texan due primarily to a 47-yard catch to start the fourth quarter, narrowly missing a touchdown while being taken down at the three yard line. Houston has spread its targets relatively evenly between several different pass catchers early this season, leaving Kirk with only four targets in consecutive games. That limited volume will hurt his fantasy outlook, though Sunday's big play was encouraging.
Sep 29, 2025
Modest output in win
Kirk caught three of four targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 26-0 win over the Titans in Week 4.
ANALYSIS
Kirk was active for a second game after missing the first two weeks with a hamstring injury. He's totaled 12 targets, more than any of the other receivers that have appeared in four games. Kirk will remain the No. 2 wideout for now, but rookie Jayden Higgins, who caught his first NFL touchdown Sunday, could push for targets as the season progresses.
Sep 21, 2025
Three catches in season debut
Kirk (hamstring) brought in three of four targets for 25 yards in the Texans' 17-10 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Making his season/team debut, Kirk finished tied for third in receptions on another relatively difficult day for the Texans' passing game. The veteran wideout was projected to serve as an effective short-to-mid-range complement to Nico Collins coming into the season, and now that Kirk is finally healthy, he'll have a chance to start building chemistry with C.J. Stroud on an ongoing basis and likely provide Houston's struggling air attack with a boost. Kirk next takes aim at the Titans' inconsistent defense in a Week 4 home matchup.
Sep 19, 2025
Set to play Sunday
Kirk (hamstring) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Jaguars after practicing fully Friday.
ANALYSIS
DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN relayed Tuesday that coach DeMeco Ryans said Kirk was expected to play this weekend after missing the Texans' first two games with a hamstring issue, an outcome that's now been confirmed. In his looming return, Kirk will bolster a Houston wideout corps that's led by Nico Collins, and assuming no in-game setbacks, he has a chance to see enough volume Sunday to merit Week 3 fantasy lineup consideration.
Sep 18, 2025
Limited again
Kirk (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Kirk has now logged back-to-back limited sessions after taking the practice field for the first time this season Wednesday. The veteran appears primed for a starting role alongside Nico Collins in Houston's wide receiver corps, once fully healthy. He'll work to gain clearance in time to make his team debut Sunday on the road against Jacksonville, though to avoid an injury designation for Week 3 he'll likely need to upgrade to full practice reps Friday.
Sep 17, 2025
Limited in return to practice
Kirk (hamstring) was limited in his return to practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Per DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN, Coach DeMeco Ryans noted Tuesday that he expects Kirk -- who missed the first two games of the season -- to return to action Sunday against the Jaguars. The wideout's participation in his first regular-season practice supports that notion, though Kirk will likely need to practice fully by Friday in order to avoid a Week 3 injury designation. If available versus Jacksonville, Kirk will have an opportunity to secure a key role in a Houston WR corps that's led by Nico Collins and also includes Jayden Higgins and Xavier and Hutchinson, with Jaylin Noel and Braxton Berrios (hamstring) also in the mix.
Sep 17, 2025
Back at practice Wednesday
Kirk (hamstring) is participating in Wednesday's practice, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk is on the field for his first practice of the 2025 regular season, so while he figures to be officially listed as limited, this nonetheless represents a tangible step in the right direction for the veteran wideout. Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said Tuesday he expects Kirk to make his team debut versus Jacksonville on Sunday, a development that would figure to see him join Nico Collins atop a wide receiver corps otherwise housing Jayden Higgins, Xavier Hutchinson, Justin Watson and Jaylin Noel.
Sep 16, 2025
Expected back for Week 3
Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said Tuesday that he anticipates Kirk (hamstring) making his team debut Sunday in Jacksonville, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Acquired from the Jaguars in March, Kirk missed the Texans' first two games of the season while he recovered from a hamstring injury, which has kept him from practicing since the end of the preseason. The veteran wideout's condition appears to have improved during his time off, but Kirk will still likely need to upgrade to full participation in practice by Friday in order to receive clearance to play against one of his former teams. The potential return of Kirk to the lineup Sunday could help bolster a Texans passing attack that ranks 28th in the NFL with an average of 166.5 yards per game through the first two weeks.
Sep 13, 2025
Set to sit Monday
Kirk (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's game versus the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Kirk didn't practice all week, and he'll miss a second straight game to start the season. Jayden Higgins, Xavier Hutchinson, Justin Watson and Jaylin Noel all handled additional reps behind star wideout Nico Collins last week, and there figures to be a similar rotation in Week 2. Kirk's next chance to play is Week 3 versus the Jaguars.
Sep 12, 2025
Not practicing Friday
Kirk (hamstring) wasn't spotted at Friday's practice, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk also missed Thursday's session, which gives him one more chance to practice ahead of Monday night's game against the Buccaneers. If Kirk is ruled out for the contest, look for some combo of Xavier Hutchinson, Justin Watson and Jaylin Noel to log added slot reps alongside fellow WRs Nico Collins and Jayden Higgins.
Sep 11, 2025
Still not practicing
Kirk (hamstring) didn't practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Per Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle, coach DeMeco Ryans noted that both Kirk and Braxton Berrios -- who missed the Texans' season opener with hamstring injuries -- are "doing well on their recovery" and that the team will "see how they go this week" ahead of Monday night's game against the Buccaneers. If Kirk remains sidelined in Week 2, Xavier Hutchinson, Justin Watson and Jaylin Noel would be candidates to absorb slot reps alongside fellow WRs Nico Collins and Jayden Higgins.
Sep 5, 2025
Ruled out this week
Kirk (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's season opener versus the Rams.
ANALYSIS
After missing practice this week, Kirk was trending in the wrong direction. Now that his Week 1 status has been confirmed, rookie WRs Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel are in a position to see added opportunities this weekend behind top target Nico Collins, with Xavier Hutchinson and Justin Watson also on hand. Looking ahead, Kirk's Week 2 availability remains cloudy, with ESPN's DJ Bien-Aime having previously suggested that it could be a two-week injury for the 28-year-old, while noting that the Texans figure to proceed with caution with the wideout at this stage of the season.
Sep 4, 2025
Could miss time with hamstring strain
Kirk is dealing with a strained hamstring that is expected to sideline him Sunday against the Rams, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
We'll look for official confirmation of Kirk's Week 1 status no later than the release of the Texans' Friday injury report, but Schefter suggests that the wideout could miss time beyond this weekend, with one source estimating that it could be a two-week injury for Kirk. In such a scenario, rookie WRs Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel, as well as Xavier Hutchinson would be in line for added opportunities behind Nico Collins.
Sep 4, 2025
Not seen at practice Thursday
Kirk (hamstring) wasn't spotted during the media-access portion of practice Thursday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After being held out of practice Wednesday, Kirk wasn't present at the start of Thursday's session, which sets the stage for what he does Friday (if anything) to loom large in terms of his chances to play Sunday against the Rams. If Kirk ends up sidelined this weekend, added opportunities behind Nico Collins would be available for rookie WRs Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel, as well as Xavier Hutchinson.
Sep 3, 2025
DNP due to hamstring injury
Kirk was held out of practice Wednesday due to a hamstring injury.
ANALYSIS
Houston acquired Kirk from the Jaguars in early March for a 2026 seventh-round pick, after which he and the Texans reworked his contract by the end of that month. He seemingly locked up the No. 2 WR role behind Nico Collins by mid-August, but a new health concern now may threaten his availability for Week 1 and beyond. Getting back on the practice field Thursday and/or Friday will be key for Kirk's potential to play Sunday at the Rams, but if he's limited or out this weekend, rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel would be in line for more targets from QB C.J. Stroud.
Aug 17, 2025
Makes preseason debut
Kirk caught both of his targets for 13 yards in Saturday's preseason win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Like No. 1 wideout Nico Collins and starting quarterback C.J. Stroud, Kirk made his preseason debut and played the first two series before calling it a day. Kirk, who was acquired from the Jaguars during the offseason and is locked in as the No. 2 wide receiver, hooked up with Stroud on each possession in what was a successful performance by the first-team offense, working in conjunction with new offensive coordinator and play caller, Nick Caley.
Aug 15, 2025
Entrenched as No. 2 WR
Kirk was a standout at joint practices with the Panthers on Thursday and has locked up the No. 2 wide receiver role behind Nico Collins, Cole Thompson of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk has demonstrated chemistry with quarterback C.J. Stroud throughout training camp, and per Thompson, he's clearly been the Texans' most consistent wide receiver other than Collins. While it's possible Kirk that rookie wideouts Jayden Higgins (second round) and Jaylin Noel (third round) are able to build steam down the stretch of the regular season and provide increased target competition, at a minimum Kirk is positioned to open Week 1 in a valuable starting role as one of Stroud's top reads, and likely while dominating slot reps. Kirk is entering his age-29 campaign and playing for a new contract.
May 28, 2025
Taking part in practice
Kirk (collarbone) is participating in on-field positional drills at OTAs on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk no longer looks hindered by the broken collarbone that ended his 2024 season in Jacksonville after just eight games. The Texans traded for Kirk early March then selected two rookies out of Iowa State in the early rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft, in the form of Jayden Higgins (second round) and Jaylin Noel (third round). Even with Tank Dell (knee) nursing a serious enough injury that he could miss most, or all, of the upcoming season, Higgins and Noel represent notable competition for targets behind No. 1 wideout Nico Collins. At 6-foot-4, 212 pounds with 4.47 speed, Higgins is a physical clone of Collins capable of joining him on the boundary, while Noel's smaller frame and 4.39 speed seemingly positions him to begin as a deep threat. That leaves Kirk with a clear path to dominate slot reps, with the catch being that Noel could eventually compete for such snaps, and Houston's other wideouts could emerge as higher-priority targets for C.J. Stroud.
Apr 28, 2025
Ticketed for slot work
Kirk (collarbone) figures to spend a lot of time in the slot after Houston drafted 6-foot-4 wideout Jayden Higgins at No. 34 overall, The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk might've taken most of his snaps in the slot anyway, so it's hard to spin the NFL Draft as a win for his fantasy value, especially after the Texans doubled down on Iowa State receivers and took Jaylin Noel in the third round. There's suddenly a lot of target competition behind No. 1 receiver Nico Collins, who averaged 83.8 yards and 8.3 targets per game in 2024 despite playing less than half the available snaps in three of his 12 regular-season games. The upside scenario for Kirk's volume entails Collins continuing to struggle with soft-issue injuries while the rookies fail to develop as expected. The downside scenario features Kirk becoming somewhat of an afterthought and perhaps even losing slot snaps to Noel eventually. Kirk has one year left on his contract and should be healthy for training camp, after a broken collarbone ended his final season with the Jaguars (who subsequently traded him to Houston for a seventh-round pick). The Texans already restructured Kirk's contract to convert his non-guaran

Reworks contract
Kirk (collarbone) agreed earlier this month to restructure his contract for the 2025 season, with the Texans opting to convert $14.245 million of his salary into a signing bonus, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk, who is entering the final season of the four-year, $72 million he signed with Jacksonville in 2022, was acquired by the Texans on March 6 in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick. The Texans' willingness to take on the remaining money on his deal was likely a major factor in the low compensation the Jaguars received in return, but Houston was at least able to restructure the contract to make it more palatable for salary-cap purposes. Between his salary and signing bonus, Kirk will earn $16.5 million in 2025, with the potential to earn an additional $3 million if he reaches unspecified catches and receiving yardage incentives. With Tank Dell's (knee) availability for the upcoming season in doubt, Kirk is projected to head into training camp as Houston's No. 2 wideout behind Nico Collins. Prior to suffering a season-ending fractured collarbone in Week 8, Kirk was supplanted by Brian Thomas as the top option in the Jacksonville passing game and finished with a 27-379-1 receiving line on 47 targets.
Mar 6, 2025
Being dealt to Houston
The Jaguars are finalizing a trade Thursday that will send Kirk (collarbone) to the Texans, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk, who is recovering from a broken left collarbone suffered in late October, looks set to join Nico Collins atop Houston's wide receiver depth chart. The veteran slot man will face opportunity as one of C.J. Stroud's top targets, especially with Stefon Diggs (knee - ACL) a pending free agent and Tank Dell (knee - ACL) a candidate to miss much, if not all, of the 2025 season. Per Pelissero, the Texans are taking on Kirk's salary of $16.5 million for 2025 and sending a 2026 seventh-round pick to Jacksonville in exchange for the 28-year-old veteran wideout.
Mar 5, 2025
In line to be released
The Jaguars plan to release release Kirk (collarbone), Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk's release will save Jacksonville over $10.4 million in cap space, Schefter reports, though the transaction may not officially process until the new league year begins next Wednesday, March 12. The 28-year-old has one year remaining on his four-year, $72 million deal with the Jaguars, but his disappointing 2024 campaign, paired with the emergence of Brain Thomas as a clear No. 1 wideout, provides enough motivation for the team to move on. A broken left collarbone sustained late October forced Kirk to miss all but eight games in 2024, in which span he secured 27 of 47 targets for 379 yards and one touchdown. If healthy, Kirk should have no issue drawing attention as a free agent from multiple suitors in need of a capable veteran receiver.
Feb 25, 2025
Candidate to be released
Kirk (collarbone) may be released this offseason, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano.
ANALYSIS
Kirk has one season remaining on a four-year, $72 million contract, scheduled for $16-16.5 million in non-guaranteed compensation. He's mostly lived up to a contract that was widely criticized as an overpay at the time of signing, but that doesn't necessarily mean the Jaguars will keep him, as he's now 28 years old and coming off a disappointing 2024 season in which he suffered a broken collarbone while rookie Brian Thomas emerged as the team's clear No. 1 receiver. Fellow veteran wideout Gabe Davis had a worse season than Kirk and suffered an injury that comes with more long-term concern (a meniscus tear), but Davis has full guarantees for his 2025 compensation, leaving the Jaguars with no financial incentive to release him.
Nov 2, 2024
Moves to injured reserve
The Jaguars placed Kirk (collarbone) on injured reserve Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Kirk already has been ruled out for the season following the broken left collarbone that he suffered last Sunday against the Packers, so this transaction is merely a procedural move. He'll join fellow WRs Devin Duvernay (lower body) and David White (knee) on IR, while Brian Thomas (chest) and Gabe Davis (shoulder) are questionable for Sunday's game at Philadelphia, and Parker Washington, Tim Jones and practice-squad elevations Elijah Cooks and Austin Trammell are the healthy options at the position for Week 9.
Oct 27, 2024
Out for year with collarbone injury
Kirk fractured his collarbone in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Packers and will miss the remainder of the season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk had his arm in a sling after the game following an exit due to what was originally termed a shoulder injury. He will finish the 2024 season with 27 catches for 379 yards and one touchdown on 47 targets in eight games. More opportunities will likely open up for Parker Washington in a Jacksonville wide receiver room that also saw Brian Thomas (chest) and Gabe Davis (shoulder) exit against the Packers.
Oct 27, 2024
Arm in sling after game
Kirk's left arm was in a sling after Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Packers, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After exiting with a shoulder injury, the wideout was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the contest, and given DiRocco's report, Kirk's status for next weekend's game against the Eagles is cloudy. Fellow WRs Brian Thomas (chest) and Gabe Davis (shoulder) also were injured versus Green Bay, with the trio's status now worth tracking closely in the coming days.
Oct 27, 2024
Leaves early with shoulder injury
Kirk suffered an injury to his left shoulder with 13:24 remaining in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Packers and has been ruled out for the remainder of the contest, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports. He recorded two catches for 59 yards on five targets prior to departing.
ANALYSIS
Jacksonville had its top three receivers leave the Week 8 contest early, though Brian Thomas (chest) and Gabe Davis (shoulder) were listed as questionable to return after suffering their respective injuries. The team didn't waste any time ruling out Kirk, who immediately headed to the locker room after landing hard on his left arm while attempting to reel in a deep target from quarterback Trevor Lawrence on 3rd-and-11. The Jaguars will likely provide an update on Kirk's condition after the game concludes, but for now, the wideout's status for a Week 9 matchup with the Eagles is in question.
Oct 20, 2024
Chunk gain on one catch
Kirk brought in one of three targets for 24 yards in the Jaguars' 32-16 win over the Patriots on Sunday in London.
ANALYSIS
Kirk made one of his signature chunk gains on his one reception, and although the modest target total was disappointing, the veteran wideout was partly a victim of circumstance. Trevor Lawrence only put up 20 pass attempts due to the way game script unfolded, helping lead to Kirk's third one-catch tally of the season. Kirk figures to have to be much more involved in a Week 8 home matchup against the Packers.
Oct 13, 2024
Three catches in London defeat
Kirk brought in three of six targets for 39 yards in the Jaguars' 35-16 loss to the Bears on Sunday in London.
ANALYSIS
Kirk finished third in receptions, receiving yards and targets for the Jaguars with his lowest totals in the first two categories since Week 2. The veteran wideout still drew an appreciable amount of Trevor Lawrence's attention, however, and he certainly has the ability to bounce back against an inconsistent Patriots defense in a Week 7 matchup at Wembley Stadium.
Oct 6, 2024
Strong yardage output in win
Kirk brought in all four targets for 88 yards in the Jaguars' 37-34 win over the Colts on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Kirk finished with the second-highest receiving yardage total on the afternoon for Jacksonville with a figure that also served as a new season high. The veteran wideout has left a forgettable start to the season firmly in the dust, as he now boasts a 19-228-1 line over his last three games after recording only two receptions for 29 yards in the first two contests of the campaign. Kirk next takes aim at a tough Bears defense in a Week 6 matchup in London.
Sep 29, 2024
Nabs first TD of 2024
Kirk caught seven of 12 targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Texans.
ANALYSIS
The veteran wideout led the Jaguars in receptions and targets, although rookie Brian Thomas out-gained him by 25 receiving yards. Kirk has seen double-digit targets in back-to-back contests, and he appears to have re-asserted himself as Trevor Lawrence's most reliable downfield option, capping his performance Sunday with his first TD of the season on an eight-yard grab in the third quarter. Kirk will look to keep rolling in Week 5 against the Colts.
Sep 23, 2024
Big resurgence in loss
Kirk secured eight of 10 targets for 79 yards in the Jaguars' 47-10 loss to the Bills on Monday night.
ANALYSIS
After an utterly forgettable first two games where he'd generated a combined 2-29 line on seven targets, Kirk was the focus of Trevor Lawrence's attention very frequently in the lopsided loss. The veteran wideout led the way for Jacksonville in all of receptions, receiving yards and targets, a major departure from the first pair of contests. Kirk's usage Monday night was much more in line with what fantasy managers' expectations were coming into the season, and he could be very busy again during a Week 4 road divisional matchup against the Texans that is a must-win game for Jacksonville.
Sep 15, 2024
Uninvolved again
Kirk recorded one catch on three targets for -1 yard in Sunday's 18-13 loss to the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Kirk was targeted less than Gabe Davis, Brenton Strange and Brian Thomas, and he now has only two receptions for 29 yards through two games. His slow start can be blamed at least in part on Jacksonville's sluggish offensive performances, as the team mustered only 81 yards in the first half and was then reliant on deep shots to move the ball in the second quarter. Kirk has played a key role for the Jaguars' offense in each of the last two years so it would be a surprise to not see him bounce back, though he will be tough to trust heading into a Week 3 matchup against Buffalo.
Sep 8, 2024
Limited to one big catch
Kirk brought in one of four targets for 30 yards in the Jaguars' 20-17 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
With Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones now elsewhere, Kirk was expected to fill a true No. 1 role for Trevor Lawrence, at least early in the season. However, that didn't exactly come to fruition Sunday, with Kirk unable to follow up his early second-quarter chunk play. Kirk did finish tied for the team lead in targets, but the entire passing game could be more productive in a Week 2 home opener against a Browns team that played much less effective defense on the road than it did at home last season.
Sep 4, 2024
Cleared of calf injury
Kirk (calf) was a full participant in practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The only player who didn't attain full participation for Jacksonville on Wednesday was safety Daniel Thomas (Achilles), so Kirk had no limitations and isn't in danger of missing the regular-season opener in Miami on Sunday. Kirk had missed some time in training camp due to what was described as a mild calf injury, but he has plenty of established chemistry with quarterback Trevor Lawrence and is set to work as Jacksonville's top wide receiver following the offseason departure of Calvin Ridley.
Aug 26, 2024
Will practice this week
Coach Doug Pederson said Monday that Kirk (calf) will resume practicing this week, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk has missed roughly two weeks of practice due to a calf injury described as mild, so it will be encouraging to see him back on the field in at least a limited capacity. The 27-year-old still has just under two weeks remaining to get fully healthy for Jacksonville's regular-season opener against the Dolphins on Sunday, Sept. 8, so he figures to be ready to rock by the time Week 1 kicks off.
Aug 19, 2024
Not practicing this week
Coach Doug Pederson said Kirk (calf) won't practice this week, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
This will be Kirk's second week of missed practice since suffering a calf injury that Pederson described as mild. The 27-year-old played in Jacksonville's preseason opener and still has nearly three weeks to get healthy before the regular-season opener (Sept. 8 at Miami).
Aug 15, 2024
Has minor calf injury
Kirk is dealing with a "mild" calf injury and won't practice this week, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Doug Pederson termed the absence "precautionary" and said Kirk will be re-evaluated next week, per Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville. The Jags plan to rest key players this upcoming Saturday against Tampa Bay, after giving most of the top guys (including Kirk) a single drive in a preseason-opening win over the Chiefs on Sunday. A mild calf injury -- with three and a half weeks to go before the regular-season opener -- isn't especially likely to threaten Kirk's availability for the games that actually matter.
Aug 10, 2024
No targets in preseason opener
Kirk did not log any targets during the Jaguars' 26-13 preseason win over the Chiefs on Saturday night.
ANALYSIS
The Jaguars' starting offense was out there for the first two possessions, but Kirk wasn't on the receiving end of any of Trevor Lawrence's four pass attempts. Despite the quiet night in the opener, Kirk's chemistry with Lawrence is above question as they head into their third season together, and the veteran wideout is the clear No. 1 receiver in Jacksonville's air attack following the departure of Calvin Ridley this offseason.
Aug 8, 2024
Should play Saturday
Kirk and other starters are scheduled to play "a series or two" in Saturday's preseason game against Kansas City, Demetrius Harvey of the Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk and TE Evan Engram are the returning standouts in a new-look group of pass catchers, with Calvin Ridley (Titans) and Zay Jones (Cardinals) having been replaced by Gabe Davis and first-round pick Brian Thomas. There's been no report of any injury trouble for Kirk this spring or summer, after he missed the final five games of last season to undergo core muscle surgery. Prior to suffering the injury Week 13, he led the Jaguars in targets, catches and receiving yards, averaging 5.1 receptions for 69.2 yards on 7.6 targets per game.
May 22, 2024
Feeling healthy again
Kirk (groin) said Monday at OTAs that he feels back to full health and looks forward to leading Jacksonville's revamped wide receiver room, Shaaz Peerani of ABC News reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk missed the final five games of the 2023 season due to a groin issue, but he said that he's now healthy and "ready to wake some people back up and remind them of the type of player I am." The 27-year-old is now the most experienced starter in the Jaguars' wideout corps, with Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones having been replaced by Gabe Davis and rookie first-rounder Brian Thomas. Kirk praised Thomas and second-year pro Parker Washington, but he could be the favorite to emerge as Trevor Lawrence's most trusted target, with tight end Evan Engram also primed to occupy a key role in the passing game.
Jan 12, 2024
Finishes with 787 yards in 12 games
Kirk (groin) finished the 2023 season with 57 catches on 85 targets for 787 yards and three touchdowns in 12 appearances. He also rushed once for six yards.
ANALYSIS
Kirk took a step back after setting career highs in catches (84), receiving yards (1,108) and touchdowns (eight) in his first season with the Jaguars, though he had similar per-game numbers besides the decline in the notoriously fickle touchdown category. He missed the final five games of the season as the Jaguars collapsed down the stretch and missed the playoffs at 9-8, but Kirk is expected to be healthy by the start of the 2024 campaign and should reprise a starting role on the outside opposite Calvin Ridley.
Jan 7, 2024
Not playing in Week 18
Kirk (groin) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Though Jacksonville reinstated Kirk from injured reserve Saturday after he had missed the required four contests while recovering from core-muscle surgery, he'll need more time to heal up before he's ready for game action. Kirk rejoined the Jaguars for practice this week, but he was limited in each of the team's three sessions before being listed as questionable heading into the weekend. If the Jaguars are able to punch their ticket to the postseason with a win over Tennessee, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network relays that Jacksonville expects to have Kirk available for the wild-card round.
Jan 7, 2024
Uncertain to play Sunday
Kirk (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans but is uncertain to be available for the regular-season finale, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
While the Jaguars' decision to activate Kirk from injured reserve Saturday would seemingly point toward the wideout suiting up Sunday, his availability for the contest apparently isn't locked in just yet. Kirk had missed Jacksonville's last four games while recovering from core-muscle surgery before he resumed practicing this week, though he never managed anything more than limited participation. Official word on Kirk's status will arrive when Jacksonville posts its inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, but even if he's cleared to play, the 27-year-old could have his snaps managed carefully.
Jan 6, 2024
Officially activated off IR
Kirk (groin) was activated off injured reserve Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
After practicing in limited fashion all week, Kirk was seemingly trending in this direction. Although he is now on the active roster, the pass catcher remains questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Titans. Final confirmation on his status will depend on how he feels during his pre-game workout.
Jan 6, 2024
Trending towards playing Sunday
Kirk (groin), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup for the Titans, appears likely to be activated off injured reserve, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
It appears as if Kirk, who is eligible to be activated off injured reserve, could suit up Sunday, but in order for that to occur the Jaguars must first have him rejoin the active roster. It helps that Kirk also managed to practice in limited fashion all week, giving more credence to Rapoport's report. Expect the productive wide receiver to still be technically listed as questionable leading up to Sunday's, with a pre-game workout likely determining whether he'll officially play.
Jan 5, 2024
Gets Week 18 questionable tag
The Jaguars list Kirk (groin) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
After missing four consecutive games while recovering from core-muscle surgery, Kirk was designated for return from injured reserve Wednesday and was a limited participant in each of the Jaguars' three practices this week. While the Jaguars haven't ruled Kirk out from playing in Sunday's regular-season finale, the team will need to add him back to the 53-man roster before 4 p.m. ET on Saturday in order for him to be eligible. If he's not activated ahead of Sunday's contest, the Jaguars would still have the option of bringing Kirk back in advance of the wild-card round of the playoffs, should the team clinch a postseason berth.
Jan 4, 2024
Limited in first two practices of week
Kirk (groin) was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Since being designated for return from injured reserve Wednesday, Kirk has turned in a pair of limited practice sessions, keeping hope alive that he may be able to put an end to his four-game absence this Sunday in Tennessee. In order for Kirk to be eligible to play in Week 18, however, the Jaguars would first have to add him back to the 53-man roster by no later than 4 p.m. ET on Saturday. Even if Kirk hasn't made enough progress in his recovery from core-muscle surgery to play against Tennessee, he would still have an opportunity to return to action during the wild-card round, should Jacksonville punch its ticket to the postseason with a victory over the Titans.
Jan 3, 2024
Designated for IR return
The Jaguars designated Kirk (groin) for return from injured reserve Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The move opens a 21-day window in which Kirk can practice without being on the active roster. The Jaguars reportedly hope to have him back for Sunday's game against Tennessee, but it's far from a sure thing with the wide receiver less than a month removed from core muscle/groin surgery. Kirk would need to be activated by 4 p.m. ET on Saturday to play Week 18, and it isn't yet clear if he would be catching passes from Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) or C.J. Beathard if available. The Jaguars can clinch the AFC South title with a win this week, while a loss either leaves them as the No. 7 seed or out of the playoffs entirely.
Jan 1, 2024
Could suit up Week 18
Kirk (groin) will have his 21-day practice window open Wednesday, and he could return for Sunday's regular-season finale versus Tennessee, Mark Long of the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk went on IR on Dec. 8, and he's sat out the required four games to be eligible to return. That's far from a guarantee for Week 18 given the wideout's long layoff, but Jacksonville could certainly use Kirk's talents against the Titans on Sunday as the team can clinch the AFC South with a win. Kirk's practice level during Week 18 prep should provide insight about his chances of suiting up for the regular-season finale.
Dec 8, 2023
Placed on IR
Kirk (core muscle injury) has been placed on IR by the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network, Kirk will undergo surgery to address a core muscle/groin injury, and as a result of being placed on IR the wideout will miss at least four games. In Kirk's looming absence, Calvin Ridley, Zay Jones (knee) and Parker Washington are in line to head Jacksonville's wide receiver corps during the team's playoff push.
Dec 8, 2023
Reportedly headed to IR
Kirk (core muscle injury) is expected to be placed on IR by the Jaguars, according to Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network.
ANALYSIS
Per Wolfe, Kirk is on track to have surgery to address a core muscle/groin injury and assuming the wideout indeed lands on IR, he'd be slated to miss at least the Jaguars' next four games. In that context, Calvin Ridley, Zay Jones (knee) and Parker Washington would be in line to lead the team's WR corps in that span.
Dec 5, 2023
Set to miss time
Coach Doug Pederson said Tuesday that Kirk will "miss some time" due to the core muscle injury that he suffered during Monday's 34-31 overtime defeat to the Bengals, Mark Long of the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk departed following a 26-yard catch on the Jaguars' first offensive play of the game with what was termed a groin injury at the time. He later was ruled out after halftime. Pederson already has said Kirk won't be available for Sunday's game at Cleveland, so Jacksonville's available wide receivers Week 14 will be Calvin Ridley, Zay Jones, Parker Washington, Tim Jones and potentially Elijah Cooks.
Dec 4, 2023
Officially out
Kirk (groin) will not return to Monday's matchup with the Bengals, Mark Long of the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk tweaked his groin on a 26 yard reception on the Jaguars' first drive and subsequently limped to the locker room under his own power. In his absence, Zay Jones figures to continue seeing No. 2 receiver reps, while Tim Jones and Parker Washington could also see some snaps.
Dec 4, 2023
Heads to locker room
Kirk is questionable to return to Monday's matchup with the Bengals due to a groin injury, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union
ANALYSIS
Kirk was able to limp to the locker room under his own power. He suffered the injury on a 26 yard reception from Trevor Lawrence on the Jags' first drive. Zay Jones would be the prime beneficiary if he is unable to return, while Tim Jones and Parker Washington could also see increased reps.
Nov 26, 2023
Makes 57-yard catch in Week 12 win
Kirk caught four of seven targets for 89 yards in Sunday's 24-21 win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Kirk stepped out of bounds on the 1-yard line at the end of a 57-yard catch with one second left in the first half. That play helped him ultimately tie for the team lead in receiving yards with Calvin Ridley, though Ridley scored his third touchdown in the past two games while Kirk has been stuck on three touchdowns since Week 7. Despite Ridley's recent uptick in production, Kirk still leads the team with 761 receiving yards heading into a Week 13 Monday Night Football home game against the Bengals.
Nov 19, 2023
Overshadowed by Ridley
Kirk recorded three receptions on six targets for 48 yards in Sunday's 34-14 win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Kirk has spent much of the season as the Jaguars' top target, though he took a backseat to Calvin Ridley in the Week 11 win. Despite fairly consistent volume, Kirk now has fewer than 50 receiving yards in three of his last five games after failing to reach that mark only once in his first five contests of the season. Zay Jones also returned to the field against the Titans, and he could lead Trevor Lawrence to further disperse targets moving forward.
Nov 12, 2023
Tops 100 yards in Week 10 loss
Kirk caught six of 11 targets for 104 yards and lost a fumble in Sunday's 34-3 loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Kirk was the only member of Jacksonville's offense that found a modicum of success against San Francisco's stout defense, as no teammate produced more than 44 scrimmage yards. His fumble was a costly one, though, as it came on San Francisco's 6-yard line. Kirk entered Week 10 one target shy of tight end Evan Engram's team lead, but Kirk surpassed Engram in that category and now leads the Jaguars in targets (71) and receiving yards (624), as well as receiving touchdowns (three). The wide receiver will have a nice opportunity to add to those totals in Week 11 against Tennessee's underwhelming secondary, one day after his 27th birthday.
Oct 29, 2023
Four catches in Week 8
Kirk caught four of five targets for 46 yards in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Kirk came into the game leading Jacksonville in targets and receiving yards, but he finished fourth on the team in both categories in this one behind Even Engram, Calvin Ridley and Travis Etienne. Those four players account for the majority of the Jaguars' scrimmage yards, but one or two usually take a back seat on any given week. Kirk drew the short straw this time but will look to build on his season totals of 43 catches for 520 yards and three touchdowns on 60 targets when the Jaguars face the 49ers in Week 10 after a Week 9 bye.
Oct 19, 2023
Records game-winning TD Thursday
Kirk secured all six targets for 90 yards and a touchdown and lost a fumble in the Jaguars' 31-24 win over the Saints on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Kirk led the Jaguars in receptions and receiving yards on the night, with his 44-yard catch and run just before the three-minute mark of the fourth quarter ultimately proving to be the difference in the game. The reception was Kirk's second of over 40 yards this season and helped atone for a first-quarter lost fumble that didn't lead to any points for New Orleans. Kirk's yardage total was his highest since Week 2, and he'll next take on the inconsistent Steelers secondary during a Week 8 road matchup a week from Sunday.
Oct 15, 2023
Team-high receiving yardage in win
Kirk brought in three of six targets for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' 37-20 win over the Colts on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Kirk's yardage total, modest as it was, led the Jaguars on a day where Trevor Lawrence (knee) threw for just 181 yards. However, Kirk did come down with one of Lawrence's two scoring tosses, recording a 29-yard grab with 1:40 remaining in the second quarter. the receiver's second touchdown of the campaign. Kirk now has at least six targets in five consecutive contests heading into a Week 7 road matchup against the Saints on Thursday night.
Oct 8, 2023
Finishes with 78 yards in win
Kirk caught six of eight targets for 78 yards during Sunday's 25-20 win over the Bills.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old tied for the team lead in targets, with his biggest contribution coming early in the first quarter on a 30-yard reception to help set up Jacksonville's first touchdown. Kirk was a non-factor in the season opener with just one grab for nine yards, but he's been much more involved over the past four games with 29 receptions for 326 yards and one touchdown.
Oct 1, 2023
Tops team in receiving
Kirk caught eight of 12 targets for 84 yards in Sunday's 23-7 win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Kirk led the Jaguars in catches, targets and receiving yards, but it was teammate Calvin Ridley who hauled in their only offensive touchdown of the day. Had quarterback Trevor Lawrence spotted him, Kirk was open in the end zone a couple times without being thrown to. Still, with at least 80 yards or a touchdown in three straight weeks, Kirk approaches next Sunday's game against the Bills in London in good form.
Sep 24, 2023
Finds end zone in Week 3 loss
Kirk secured four of six targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' 37-17 loss to the Texans on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Kirk finished tied for second in receptions while also finishing as the runner-up in receiving yards. He was also on the receiving end of Trevor Lawernece's only touchdown toss, recording a 26-yard scoring grab early in the final period. Kirk didn't see any boost in volume despite the absence of Zay Jones (knee), but his first trip to the end zone this season made it two straight strong fantasy efforts following his 11-110 line in Week 2. Kirk will aim to keep the momentum going overseas in a Week 4 matchup against the Falcons in London.
Sep 17, 2023
Tops 100 yards in Week 2
Kirk caught 11 of 14 targets for 110 yards in Sunday's 17-9 loss to Kansas City. He also completed one pass for minus-1 yard.
ANALYSIS
Kirk was held to one catch in the season opener, but he bounced back in Week 2, accounting for half of Trevor Lawrence's 22 completions and more than half of his 216 passing yards. The 26-year-old wide receiver's productive performance included a 45-yard catch in the third quarter. Meanwhile, Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones combined for two catches on 14 targets after racking up 156 yards and two touchdowns between them last week. Figuring out the hot hand in Jacksonville's receiving corps from week to week may not be an easy task, but perhaps having Ridley on hand to draw the defense's attention will work to Kirk's benefit in Week 3 against the Texans, who limited Kirk to three catches for 32 yards across two meetings last season.
Sep 10, 2023
Held in check in opener
Kirk caught one of three targets for nine yards in Sunday's 31-21 win over the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Calvin Ridley wound up being Trevor Lawrence's favorite downfield target in the Jaguars' opener, leaving little volume left over for Kirk. It's an ominous sign for the former Cardinal as he tries to repeat his breakout 2022 campaign, but Kirk's established chemistry with Lawrence should serve him well as secondaries begins to focus more on shutting down Ridley. Kirk will look to make a bigger impact in a Week 2 clash with Kansas City.
Aug 26, 2023
One catch in preseason win
Kirk secured one of two targets for eight yards in the Jaguars' 31-18 preseason win over the Dolphins on Saturday night.
ANALYSIS
Kirk was out there with the starters over the first two possessions and was able to break the ice on the stat sheet. Kirk only posted a 3-20 line through two exhibitions, but after a career-best 84-catch, 1,180-yard, seven-touchdown tally in 2022, he's expected to once again play an integral role in the air attack in the coming campaign, albeit with an expected reduction in targets due to the arrival of Calvin Ridley.
May 30, 2023
Good to go off of knee injury
Kirk (knee) participated in OTAs Tuesday, Jaguar Report's John Shipley reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk injured his knee in last season's playoff loss to the Chiefs, so this is the first real update on him out there since the Jaguars were knocked out. The 27-year-old wideout wasn't sporting a brace or anything at Tuesday's session, so it's safe to consider Kirk 100 percent healthy. With Calvin Ridley now in the mix off of his suspension, there's added competition for targets in Jacksonville, but Kirk should remain a reliable source of WR2/3 fantasy production.
Jan 21, 2023
Knee checks out OK
Kirk said after Saturday's divisional-round loss at Kansas City that his left knee "is not feeling great," but it's been determined that its structurally normal, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk missed a portion of the fourth quarter after suffering a knee injury on an incompletion from quarterback Trevor Lawrence, but the wide receiver made a five-yard catch immediately before a Riley Patterson field goal that whittled the score to 27-20 with 25 seconds remaining. Ultimately, Kirk finished with seven receptions (on 14 targets) for 52 yards and one touchdown while adding an 18-yard rush. He'll turn his focus to recovering from the health concern this offseason.
Jan 21, 2023
Suffers knee injury Saturday
Kirk exited Saturday's divisional-round game at Kansas City due to a knee injury, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Midway through the fourth quarter, Kirk remained on the turf after a pass directed his way by quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Jaguars trainers evaluated Kirk's left leg on the field before assisting him off the field and directing him to the sideline tent, where he was diagnosed with a knee issue. If he's unable to return, he'll end the divisional round with six catches (on 13 targets) for 47 yards and one touchdown to go with an 18-yard carry.
Jan 15, 2023
Racks up 14 targets
Kirk recorded eight receptions on 14 targets for 78 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 31-30 wild-card round win over the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
After signing an attention-grabbing contract to join Jacksonville last offseason, Kirk showed his value on the field in Saturday's comeback win. He racked up a season-high 14 targets in the team's biggest matchup of the campaign, and he delivered by regularly getting open in the short and middle areas of the field to help the Jaguars consistently move the ball in the second half of the game. Most importantly, he caught a nine-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter to help push the team to victory. Kirk has topped 75 receiving yards in four of his last seven contests heading into the AFC divisional round.
Jan 8, 2023
Big game against Titans
Kirk recorded six receptions on eight targets for 88 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 20-16 win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Kirk entered Saturday's game having been held under 50 receiving yards in four of his last six games, though he delivered with the AFC South title on the line. He got the Jaguars on the board with a 25-yard touchdown reception late in the second quarter, and he accounted for the team's longest play from scrimmage on a 33-yard catch midway through the third quarter. It was a positive close to the campaign for Kirk, who managed to rack up career-high marks in targets, receptions, yards and touchdowns during his first year in Jacksonville. He'll look to play a key role in the team's upcoming postseason run.
Jan 1, 2023
Quiet in blowout victory
Kirk caught two passes for 21 yards on three targets against Houston on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Kirk might have seen more activity in a more competitive game, but it was still disappointing that he drew only three of 21 targets in this setting. It's possible that the Texans made it a point to scheme against Kirk and tight end Evan Engram, leaving the normally quiet Marvin Jones open for six catches on seven targets, but the Jaguars need Kirk rather than Jones to step up if they're going to beat the Titans for the AFC South title in Week 18.
Dec 23, 2022
Three catches in Week 16 win
Kirk secured three of six targets for 22 yards in the Jaguars' 19-3 win over the Jets on Thursday night. He also rushed once for four yards.
ANALYSIS
Kirk tied with Travis Etienne and Marvin Jones for second on the team in catches and was also the runner-up in targets. The talented offseason addition typically plays a much larger role, but Trevor Lawrence distributed the ball to more pass catchers than usual Thursday. Kirk's yardage total was his lowest since Week 5, a matter he'll look to rectify in a Week 17 road matchup against the Texans a week from Sunday.
Dec 18, 2022
Records 92 yards
Kirk recorded six receptions on 10 targets for 92 yards in Sunday's 40-34 win over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Kirk continued to have excellent involvement in the Jaguars' offense, and he now has at least seven targets in eight consecutive games. He also ripped off long gains of 33, 27 and 15 yards to help him record 9.0 yards per target. With performance, Kirk now has at least 90 receiving yards in three of his last five games, though his effort Sunday was overshadowed by a three-touchdown eruption from Zay Jones.
Dec 11, 2022
Overshadowed in blowout win
Kirk recorded five receptions on seven targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 36-22 win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Kirk maintained a regular role in Jacksonville's offense, though he saw fewer targets than both Evan Engram and Zay Jones. His most notable contribution came on a 23-yard reception during a two-minute drill just before halftime. Kirk has seen at least seven targets in seven consecutive games, but he's now gained fewer than 50 yards in three of those contests.
Dec 4, 2022
Gets over 100-yard mark in loss
Kirk brought in six of eight targets for 104 yards in the Jaguars' 40-14 loss to the Lions on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The veteran wideout paced the Jaguars in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the afternoon, but he was about the only bright spot for Jacksonville's lackluster offense. Kirk now has a pair of 100-yard efforts in the last three games heading into a Week 14 road matchup against the Titans.
Nov 27, 2022
Shut down by Baltimore
Kirk recorded four receptions on nine targets for 46 yards in Sunday's 28-27 win over Baltimore. He added one rush for minus-five yards.
ANALYSIS
Kirk remained heavily involved in the offense, though he turned in one of his more inefficient performances of the season. Despite managing receptions of 17, 16 and 11 yards, Kirk averaged only 5.1 yards per target due to a 44 percent catch rate. While it was a down performance, Kirk's outlook should significantly improve for a Week 13 matchup against the Lions.
Nov 13, 2022
Multi-TD showing in loss
Kirk brought in nine of 12 targets for 105 yards and two touchdowns in the Jaguars' 27-17 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Kirk led the Jaguars in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the afternoon while also recording both of the team's touchdowns. The talented offseason acquisition secured three- and 19-yard scoring grabs in the second and fourth quarters, respectively, giving him a career-high seven touchdown receptions in 10 games. Kirk now has at least seven catches in three of his past four games, affording him plenty of momentum heading into the Week 11 bye.
Nov 6, 2022
Very efficient against Raiders
Kirk recorded eight receptions on nine targets for 76 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Kirk maintained a heavy role in the Jaguars' offense and led the team in targets, receptions and yards. He worked primarily in the short areas of the field, though he did manage to tally a 23-yard reception -- his longest of the day. Kirk also tallied his fifth touchdown of the season on a seven-yard reception early in the third quarter. While he hasn't managed to maintain his blistering start to the campaign, Kirk has at least 70 receiving yards in five of nine games.
Oct 30, 2022
Held to 40 yards
Kirk recorded three receptions on seven targets for 40 yards in Sunday's 21-17 loss
ANALYSIS
Kirk led the Jaguars in targets but was held in check by the elite Broncos' secondary. He still managed a couple big plays, highlighted by a 25-yard catch midway through the fourth quarter that was the key play on a touchdown drive. After a hot start to the season, Kirk now has under 40 or fewer receiving yards in three of his last four games.
Oct 23, 2022
Tops 100 scrimmage yards in loss
Kirk caught seven of 10 targets for 96 yards, rushed once for five yards and threw an incomplete pass in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Jacksonville continued to get Kirk involved frequently, as he was targeted nine-plus times for the fourth time in seven games in addition to getting the ball in a couple of less conventional ways. Kirk's yardage total was his highest since a 117-yard Week 1 performance in the wide receiver's Jaguars debut, but replicating this effort won't be easy in Week 8 against shutdown cornerback Patrick Surtain and the Broncos.
Oct 16, 2022
Salvages day with late TD
Kirk brought in four of five targets for 24 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' 34-27 loss to the Colts on Sunday. He also rushed once for four yards and lost and recovered a fumble apiece.
ANALYSIS
Kirk's final line underscores how difficult production was to come by against a standout Colts defense, but he did reward fantasy managers with a four-yard scoring grab with 2:44 remaining. The offseason addition had a hot start to the season in the form of a 20-327-3 line over his first four games, but he's generated just 35 receiving yards on six catches, albeit with Sunday's score, in his last two. Kirk will aim to boost his numbers back up in a Week 7 home matchup versus the surprising Giants.
Oct 9, 2022
Disappears in losing effort
Kirk was held to one catch (three targets) for 11 yards in Sunday's 13-6 loss to Houston.
ANALYSIS
Kirk was already coming off of his worst game of the season last week (two catches for 60 yards), and Sunday's dud set the bar even lower. The three targets are alarming, as last week's two catch performance came on nine targets. After racking up 267 yards and three touchdowns through his first three games, Kirk has fallen from must-start status to questionable fantasy asset in a blink of the eye. The only positive news for Kirk's fantasy managers is that next Sunday's opponent, the Indianapolis Colts, were torched for 78 yards and two touchdowns by the wideout when these two AFC South rivals met back in Week 2.
Oct 2, 2022
Catch rate of 22 percent in loss
Kirk caught two of nine targets for 60 yards in Sunday's 29-21 loss to the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Trevor Lawrence was not in sync with his favorite target in this one, as Kirk was limited to a horrid 22 percent catch rate. The dynamic slot flashed his skills on a 45-yard connection late in the fourth quarter that salvaged an otherwise forgettable fantasy day. Kirk and the Jaguars will look to get back on track against a struggling Houston squad next Sunday.

Grabs TD in big win
Kirk caught six of nine targets for 72 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-10 win over the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
His four-yard TD catch from Trevor Lawrence late in the third quarter all but put the game on ice. It was Kirk's third score in his first three games as a Jaguar, and he's quickly proving his breakout 2021 campaign in Arizona was no fluke. The Jacksonville passing game will likely need to be sharp again in Week 4 as it tries to keep pace with Jalen Hurts and the Eagles.
Sep 18, 2022
Catches two touchdowns
Kirk caught all six of his targets for 78 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 24-0 win over the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Kirk didn't replicate the volume from his spectacular Week 1 performance, but he still turned in an impressive showing. He found the end zone on receptions of 10 and five yards while also chipping in lengthier gains of 26 and 21 yards in between. It's still early, but Kirk appears to be in line for a breakout season as he has tallied 12 receptions for 195 yards and two touchdowns in his first two games with Jacksonville.
Sep 11, 2022
Breaks century mark with new team
Kirk caught six passes (12 targets) for 117 yards in Sunday's 28-22 loss to the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
Kirk hit the ground running with his new club, leading Jacksonville in every receiving category Sunday. The 25-year-old went from the second or third receiving option during his four years in Arizona, to now being Trevor Lawrence's favorite target with the Jaguars. Fantasy managers have to be pleased with their selections of Kirk heading into a Week 2 matchup against the Colts.
Aug 27, 2022
Rested ahead of Week 1
Kirk is not in line to play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Falcons, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
ANALYSIS
The same applies to fellow WRs Marvin Jones and Zay Jones, along with QB Trevor Lawrence, RBs Travis Etienne and James Robinson (Achilles), as well as TE Evan Engram. Kirk's focus will thus shift to preparing for the Jaguars' Week 1 contest against the Commanders, a game in which he'll make his regular season debut for Jacksonville after signing a four-year, $72 million contract with the team this offseason to serve as Lawrence's top wideout target.
Aug 21, 2022
Targeted eight times
Kirk recorded five receptions on eight targets for 54 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Kirk appeared in game action for the first time with the Jaguars, and he led the team with eight targets. The results were uneven, but he hauled in a 22-yard reception and also worked effectively in the middle areas of the field. Kirk will be a substantial part of Jacksonville's offense after signing a lucrative multi-year deal to join the team this offseason.
Aug 15, 2022
Back in team drills Monday
Kirk (ankle) participated in team drills during Monday's practice that ran at full speed, John Shipley of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk unsurprisingly was a healthy scratch for the Jaguars in the Hall of Fame Game, but he was spotted working on the side last Wednesday and ultimately didn't play in Friday's preseason contest against the Browns due to an ankle injury. As of Monday, he was back on the field without limitations, including a big connection with Trevor Lawrence. The Jaguars likely want to see more of that in one of Jacksonville's final two exhibitions, be it this Saturday versus the Steelers or Saturday, Aug. 27 in Atlanta.
Aug 10, 2022
Dealing with minor ankle injury
Kirk (ankle) is working off to the side at Wednesday's practice, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The ankle injury, while seemingly minor, will probably be reason enough to hold Kirk out of Friday's preseason game against Cleveland. The Jags are expected to play their other starters, and they're already a bit thin at wide receiver with depth guys Laviska Shenault (ankle) and Jamal Agnew (hip) ruled out for Friday's game. Kirk, Marvin Jones and Zay Jones have been getting most of the first-team reps at training camp, with Kirk taking a lot of snaps from the slot.
Aug 4, 2022
Not in line to play Thursday
Kirk won't play in Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against the Raiders, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The same applies to fellow wideouts Marvin Jones, Zay Jonesand Laviska Shenault, a context that will give a handful of players looking to secure depth roles in the team's passing offense an opportunity to log snaps in Thursday's preseason opener.
Mar 14, 2022
Set to ink four-year deal with Jaguars
The Jaguars are slated to sign Kirk to a four-year deal, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
ANALYSIS
Per Rapoport and Adam Schefter of ESPN, the wideout's looming deal is worth up to $84 million. Regardless of the exact structure of the pact, it's clear that the Jaguars prioritized adding a pass-catcher like Kirk in free agency with an eye toward bolstering the supporting cast of second-year quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Kirk, who turned 25 this past November, is coming off a 2021 campaign in which he led Cardinals in receiving yards (982), catches (77) and targets (103), while adding five TDs in 17 games.
Mar 14, 2022
New target for Lawrence
Kirk is slated to sign with the Jaguars as an unrestricted free agent, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Jacksonville continues to make splashes in the free-agent market, but Kirk marks the first addition to the skill-position ranks. He'll join Marvin Jones and Laviska Shenault as the top wide receiver options for second-year quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2022. Kirk is coming off his most productive season overall as a pro last year, hauling in 77 of 103 targets for 982 yards and five touchdowns in 17 games with the Cardinals.
Jan 18, 2022
Leads team in catches
Kirk caught 6 of 10 targets for 51 yards in Monday night's 34-11 wild-card round loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Kirk led the Cardinals in all major receiving categories, going for a team-long gain of 23 yards as well. Despite Arizona ending its season on a sour note, Kirk overall enjoyed his best campaign as a pro. The wideout caught 77 of 103 targets for 982 yards and five touchdowns while not missing any games for the first time in his four-year career. On the back of that production, the 25-year-old is slated to enter free agency this offseason with his value on the rise, making it uncertain whether the Cardinals will be able to bring him back or not.
Jan 9, 2022
Quiet on three targets
Kirk caught two passes for 43 yards on three targets against Seattle on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Kirk had a good on-paper matchup against the Seahawks and he was efficient with his three targets, but this is still a disappointing outcome in a game where the Cardinals made every effort to win but still struggled on offense. It's a microcosm of Kirk's broader 2021 season -- he was almost automatic in terms of efficiency, catching 74.8 percent of his targets at 9.5 yards per target, but a limited snap count and modest target rate held him to just 77 receptions for 982 yards and five touchdowns despite the blistering efficiency. Kirk will likely need to produce better in the playoffs if the Cardinals are going to get where they want to go.
Jan 2, 2022
Leading receiver against Dallas
Kirk caught six of nine targets for 79 yards in Sunday's 25-22 win over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Kyler Murray did a good job spreading the ball around, as Kirk led the Cards in receiving yards but Zach Ertz led in receptions with seven, while Antoine Wesley was on the end of both of Murray's TD passes. Kirk has a 25-307-1 line on 36 targets over the last four games as the team's de facto No. 1 wideout, giving him plenty of momentum heading into a Week 18 clash with the Seahawks.
Dec 26, 2021
Garners nine targets in Week 16
Kirk caught seven of nine passes for 48 yards during Saturday's 22-16 defeat to the Colts.
ANALYSIS
With DeAndre Hopkins (knee) beginning a lengthy absence following Week 14, Kirk has benefitted on the target front, seeing his biggest counts in the category of the campaign over the last two contests. Overall, Kirk put up a 16-142-1 line on 21 targets in that span, while tight end Zach Ertz managed 14-145-0 on 24 targets. The pair appear to be Kyler Murray's top options at the moment, so Kirk again should be poised for significant volume in the Cardinals' next game Sunday, Jan. 2 in Dallas.
Dec 19, 2021
Top receiver with Hopkins out
Kirk caught nine of 12 targets for 94 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-12 loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Kirk stepped into the No. 1 wide receiver role in DeAndre Hopkins' (knee) absence, setting new season highs in catches and targets, but the rest of the Cardinals struggled as the team suffered a shocking loss to a Lions team that came into the game with a 1-11-1 record. His 26-yard touchdown with just 4:40 left in the game was too little too late, but it raised Kirk's season touchdown total to five heading into a Week 16 visit from the vulnerable Colts pass defense.
Dec 14, 2021
Has two big grabs
Kirk caught three of six targets for 86 yards in Monday night's 30-23 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Kirk's performance was fueled by a long catch in both halves. In the second quarter, he hauled in a 41-yard dime from Kyler Murray, then Kirk was the recipient of a 47-yarder in the fourth. Those big plays enabled the wideout to accumulate his third-most receiving yards in a game this season, helping Kirk rebound after posting merely one catch for four yards in Week 13.
Dec 6, 2021
Another paltry showing
Kirk caught one of three targets for a season-low four yards during Sunday's 33-22 win at Chicago.
ANALYSIS
With Kyler Murray only attempting 15 passes in his first game action since Week 8, there wasn't much volume to go around for Cardinals receivers Sunday. Kirk actually paced the team in targets, and eight different players recorded one or two receptions, but only DeAndre Hopkins and James Conner were able to take advantage with TDs. Looking ahead to Week 14, Kirk will look to bounce back against a Rams defense that also contained him to one catch back in Week 4.
Nov 23, 2021
Musters two catches Sunday
Kirk corralled two of five targets for 25 yards during Sunday's 23-13 win at Seattle.
ANALYSIS
With DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) again sidelined, Kirk joined A.J. Green and Rondale Moore as the top wide receivers available to the Cardinals offense. And Kirk was working with Colt McCoy under center for a third straight game with Kyler Murray (ankle) out. The lacking production was notable after Kirk combined for a 13-149-0 line on 14 targets between Weeks 9 and 10, but each member of this receiving corps has had its highs and lows this season. Arizona has a Week 12 bye, so the offense as a whole could be back to normal by the time it takes the field again Sunday, Dec. 5 at Chicago.
Nov 14, 2021
Makes seven grabs
Kirk caught seven of eight targets for 58 yards in Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Kirk led Arizona in all major receiving categories with top wideout DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) sidelined. However, with star quarterback Kyler Murray (ankle) also out again, the Cardinals struggled mightily passing the ball, with signal-callers Colt McCoy and Chris Streveler managing just 143 yards combined. While Kirk has been productive within a short-handed offense lately, he'll hope Murray can return to the lineup in Week 11 versus the 49ers.
Nov 7, 2021
Big day in big win
Kirk caught all six of his targets for 91 yards and completed a 33-yard pass in Sunday's 31-17 win over the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
With DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) and A.J. Green (COVID-19) both out of the lineup, Kirk stepped up as the Cards' No. 1 receiver, leading the team in catches, targets and receiving yards. He also tossed a pass to Antione Wesley on a gadget play late in the first quarter that nearly went for a touchdown, but Wesley went out of bounds just shy of the goal line. Kirk has caught at least three passes in eight of nine games this season, giving him a fairly secure floor, but his role in the offense will depend on the availability of Hopkins and Green heading into a Week 10 clash with the Panthers.
Oct 29, 2021
Four grabs in loss
Kirk secured four of six targets for 46 yards in the Cardinals' 24-21 loss to the Packers on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Kirk checked in tied for second in receptions and was also the runner-up in targets on the night for the Cardinals in the disappointing upset loss. The fourth-year wideout has no fewer than four grabs in four consecutive contests, as he's continued to find moderate success while often facing third cornerbacks in his new role as a No. 3 wideout behind DeAndre Hopkins and A.J. Green. Kirk will look to continue producing in his steady complementary role during a Week 9 road matchup against the 49ers.
Oct 24, 2021
Finds end zone again
Kirk caught four of five targets for 50 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-5 win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year receiver remains on pace for a career year, despite the embarrassment of riches on the Arizona roster available for Kyler Murray to throw to. The 24-year-old is taking aim at 70 catches, 1,000 yards and 10 TDs, numbers he's never reached before, and even with Zach Ertz slotting in for Maxx Williams (knee) alongside DeAndre Hopkins and A.J. Green, Kirk should continue to make an impact for the Cardinals. He'll look to find the end zone for the third game in a row in Week 8 against the Packers.
Oct 17, 2021
Scores TD in Sunday's win
Kirk caught five of eight targets for 75 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 37-14 win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
He led the Cards in targets while tying A.J. Green for the team lead in catches, and Kirk hauled in his third TD of the season to open the scoring midway through the first quarter. The fourth-year receiver is well on his way to a career year in Arizona's explosive offense, but Kirk may not be called on too often in Week 7 at home against a struggling Texans squad.
Oct 4, 2021
Receives just one target Sunday
Kirk gathered in his only target for five yards during Sunday's 37-20 road win versus the Rams.
ANALYSIS
After opening the season with at least 65 yards receiving in each of Arizona's first three games of the campaign, Kirk barely impacted the box score Week 4, despite getting a season-high 72-percent share of the offensive snaps. Quarterback Kyler Murray has been keeping all of the team's key skill-position players regularly involved, with Kirk (18 targets) among six Cards with at least 16. Kirk is just four yards shy of A.J. Green's 248 through the air for the team lead, and he's also one of three with multiple TD catches. With another divisional battle with the 49ers on Sunday, Kirk will aim to get back to productive days.
Sep 26, 2021
Eclipses century mark in win
Kirk secured seven of eight targets for 104 yards in the Cardinals' 31-19 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Kirk extended what has been a strong stretch of play to open the campaign with Sunday's effort, which featured a season high in receptions, receiving yardage and targets. Kirk has looked like a steadier performer, albeit over a modest sample, thus far this season now that he's no longer a starter and likely facing a lower quality of cornerback on many of his routes. Kirk will look to put together a successful encore to his Week 3 performance in a tough Week 4 road battle against the Rams.
Sep 19, 2021
Hauls in three passes Sunday
Kirk notched three receptions (on four targets) for 65 yards during Sunday's 34-33 win versus the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Among the six Cardinals to be targeted by Kyler Murray in Week 2, Kirk matched No. 1 wideout DeAndre Hopkins with the fewest looks. Having said that, all three of Kirk's catches went for at least 10 yards, highlighted by a 35-yard looping pass from Murray down the middle of the field that set up Arizona at the six-yard line late in the fourth quarter, which ultimately set up a 27-yard field goal for the winning points. After two games, Kirk has accrued an 8-135-2 receiving line on nine targets, which indicates his efficiency in what has been a hyper-efficient passing attack under Murray. Kirk will look to keep it up next Sunday when the Cards pay a visit to Jacksonville.
Sep 12, 2021
Scores twice in Week 1
Kirk caught five receptions for 70 yards and two touchdowns on five targets at Tennessee on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Kirk was automatic Sunday in what was one of his best games as a pro, and it's possible that he'll continue to benefit from running routes more often in the slot than he did in prior years. He'll need to draw more targets to stay consistently viable as a fantasy wideout, however, because a 100 percent catch rate at 14 yards per target obviously isn't sustainable. Kirk and fellow wideout Rondale Moore (four catches for 68 yards on five targets) might have a case for taking targets from A.J. Green (two catches for 25 yards on six targets), but Green is a limiting factor in the meantime.
Aug 27, 2021
Preseason Week 3 canceled
In a statement released by the Saints on Friday, it was announced that Saturday's scheduled preseason game between Kirk and the Cardinals at New Orleans has been canceled due to the impending impact of Hurricane Ida in the Gulf Coast region.
ANALYSIS
The contest previously was scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. ET but was moved up seven hours, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. In the meantime, however, a decision has been made to cancel the Cardinals' exhibition finale. The team is next slated to travel to Tennessee for Week 1 of the regular season.
Aug 27, 2021
Game moved up
Kirk and the Cardinals are now scheduled to play the Saints at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday for their final game of the preseason, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The game has been moved back seven hours to avoid a possible hurricane headed toward New Orleans. The Cardinals are expected to rest Kyler Murray and other starters, but it's possible Kirk is among those who play, with rookie second-round pick Rondale Moore making his push for a top-three role. Kirk and A.J. Green both are in danger of losing snaps, if not their starting jobs, depending on their own performance and Moore's.
Aug 14, 2021
Looks healthy Friday
Kirk caught his only target for a 34-yard gain in Friday's preseason win over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-yard receiver missed practice time earlier in the month due to an undisclosed injury, but Kirk was in the starting lineup Friday and was on the other end of a big Colt McCoy pass during the Cards' second possession. Kirk is being pushed for the No. 3 spot on the depth chart by rookie Rondale Moore, but DeAndre Hopkins (undisclosed) and A.J. Green (undisclosed) are expected to be the focus of the passing game for Arizona during the regular season.
Aug 5, 2021
Limited in return to practice
Kirk (undisclosed) was limited Thursday in his return to practice and may not get back to full participation until next week, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
His return after only a few days, even in a limited capacity, suggests the undisclosed injury isn't serious. Kirk at least seems to be a bit healthier than fellow Cardinals receivers A.J. Green and Rondale Moore, with the former missing Thursday's practice and the latter leaving it early.
Aug 5, 2021
Returns to practice
Kirk (undisclosed) is returning to practice Thursday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk has been out since the weekend with a minor, undisclosed injury. A few missed days shouldn't make much difference as he enters his third season in coach Kliff Kingsbury's system, though Kirk presumably is preparing for more slot work after the Cardinals signed A.J. Green (undisclosed) in the offseason. Green is now the one missing practice with a minor injury.
Aug 3, 2021
Likely out a few days
Kirk (undisclosed) is expected to miss a few more practices beyond Tuesday, Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Kliff Kingsbury didn't disclose the location of Kirk's injury but did say he expects the wide receiver to rejoin practice soon, per Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com. The 24-year-old figures to play more slot in the fourth and final season of his rookie contract, after the Cardinals signed 33-year-old A.J. Green in March.
Aug 3, 2021
Misses another practice
Kirk is absent from practice for a second straight day Tuesday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It likely means Kirk is nursing an injury, though nothing has been reported so far. He has a lot to prove in the final year of his rookie contract, following a 2020 campaign with only 621 receiving yards in 14 games.
Aug 2, 2021
Not practicing Monday
Kirk is not participating in Monday's practice, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The reason for Kirk's lack of participation remains unclear, whether due to rest, injury, or an excused absence. The fourth-year pro is facing increased competition for playing time this training camp, with A.J. Green and Rondale Moore having joined Arizona's receiving corps.
Jul 22, 2021
Facing competition for playing time
The Cardinals' pecking order at wide receiver appears wide open after DeAndre Hopkins, with Kirk, A.J. Green, Rondale Moore, Andy Isabella and KeeSean Johnson all in the mix to earn roles, NFL.com's Adam Maya reports.
ANALYSIS
The Green signing hints at Kirk getting more slot work, especially if Larry Fitzgerald remains a free agent or signs with a new team. A move inside could reinvigorate Kirk's career, but there will also be more competition for playing time if he struggles this summer. The 2018 second-round pick has missed multiple games each year in the NFL, and he's yet to top 709 receiving yards in a season. Moore, in particular, could be a threat to Kirk's role, with the second-round pick out of Purdue boasting 4.28 speed.
Jan 13, 2021
Comes off COVID-19 list
The Cardinals activated Kirk (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk missed Arizona's loss to the Rams in Week 17 due to his placement on the COVID list. The Cardinals didn't earn a postseason berth, but Kirk will now be free to return to team facilities for meetings and eventual offseason workouts. Through 14 regular-season games in 2020, Kirk secured 48 of 79 targets for 621 yards and six touchdowns. He also contributed in the return game and logged two carries for three yards.
Jan 2, 2021
Goes to COVID-19 list, out Sunday
Kirk was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday and won't play in Sunday's game against the Rams.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear whether Kirk tested the positive or was deemed a high-risk close contact. This is a major loss for the Cardinals as they look to keep their playoff hopes alive. Larry Fitzgerald (groin) is also questionable and trending toward a game-time decision. KeeSean Johnson, Trent Sherfield and Andy Isabella could all see increased usage in the season finale.
Dec 26, 2020
Notches season high in receptions
Kirk caught seven of 10 targets for 76 yards during Saturday's 20-12 loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Kirk led the team in receiving yardage while notching a new season high in receptions. He ripped off a 38-yard gain, which was his longest in seven games, and was unfortunate to miss out on a poorly-thrown end zone target in the fourth quarter. Kirk had totaled just 68 yards on 10 receptions over the last four games, so this performance was surely a welcome sight for the Cardinals. His productivity should be crucial in next Sunday's matchup with the Rams.
Dec 21, 2020
Catches three passes Sunday
Kirk notched three catches (on four targets) for 33 yards during Sunday's 33-26 win against the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
After DeAndre Hopkins' 11 targets, Kyler Murray wasn't afraid to use any and all Cardinal skill-position player, with five of them seeing at least three targets and nine total getting looked at one or more times by the QB. Spreading the ball around didn't benefit many others aside from Hopkins, who recorded a TD along with Larry Fitzgerald and Chase Edmonds. Kirk himself hasn't reached the end zone since making six visits in five games between Weeks 4 and 9, and he also hasn't surpassed 50 receiving yards in six consecutive contests. As a result, he's tough to trust in the stretch run of the campaign.
Dec 13, 2020
Can't going against G-Men
Kirk caught three of four targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 26-7 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Kirk could have salvaged his day by getting over the goal line on his first catch, but he was tackled at the one-yard line. The third-year man out of Texas A&M has all but disappeared from Arizona's offense following a stretch of five touchdowns in three games, totaling 15 catches for 112 yards without a touchdown over the five subsequent contests. Kirk will hope to get back on track against the Eagles in Week 15.
Dec 7, 2020
Remains quiet Sunday
Kirk gathered in one of three targets for two yards during Sunday's 38-28 defeat to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Since he put up 246 yards and five TDs in three games between Weeks 6 and 9, Kirk hasn't surpassed 50 yards or reached the end zone in any of the last four contests. In fact, his receiving line during that span is a pitiful 12-98-0 on 21 targets. Kirk continues to draw a significant snap count on a weekly basis and even received his largest share of the season Sunday (94 percent). He'll look to get back on track in a Week 14 visit to the Giants.
Nov 29, 2020
Quiet again in Week 12
Kirk caught three of six targets for 19 yards and added a carry for no gain in Sunday's 20-17 loss to New England.
ANALYSIS
Kirk dropped a ball in the end zone late in the first half, and that proved to be a crucial mistake, as the Cardinals were stopped on 4th-and-goal two plays later. The feast-or-famine wide receiver has mustered just 96 yards without a touchdown over the past three weeks following a torrid stretch that included five touchdowns over the previous three games.
Nov 20, 2020
Four grabs in loss
Kirk brought in four of six targets for 50 yards and returned two punts for eight yards in the Cardinals' 28-21 loss to the Seahawks on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Kirk checked in third in receptions, receiving yardage and targets behind position mates Larry Fitzgerald and DeAndre Hopkins. The 24-year-old has found true standout production from a reception and receiving yardage standpoint hard to come by with the arrival of Hopkins this offseason, but Kirk has often made up for it with a knack for the end zone that's led to him scoring a career-high six touchdowns. He'll look to find pay dirt once again after a two-game lull in a Week 12 matchup versus the Patriots on Sunday, Nov. 29.
Nov 16, 2020
TD streak comes to end
Kirk recorded four receptions (on six targets) for 27 yards during Sunday's 32-30 win versus the Bills.
ANALYSIS
On the heels of a three-game stretch in which he compiled five touchdowns, Kirk wasn't on the receiving end of Kyler Murray's sole TD pass of Week 10 (that honor went to DeAndre Hopkins' game-winning Hail Mary grab). Still, Kirk leads the Cardinals with six scores through the air, which have supplemented nicely his 27 catches for 427 yards on 46 targets. He'll look to get back in the end zone Thursday against a Seahawks defense that has allowed the third-most touchdown receptions (13) to wide receivers this season.
Nov 8, 2020
Continues touchdown binge
Kirk caught five of eight targets for 123 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
With DeAndre Hopkins struggling, Kirk led the team in targets, catches and receiving yards as he set or tied season highs across the board. The highlight of his day was a 56-yard touchdown grab in the second quarter that gave him five scores in his last three outings. Kirk now has three plays of at least 49 yards this season and two have gone for touchdowns over the same three-game stretch. The Bills secondary could key in on Hopkins as well next Sunday, potentially setting up Kirk for another productive effort.
Oct 26, 2020
Two more TDs in primetime
Kirk had five receptions (eight targets) for 37 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 37-34 win over the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Kirk shined in the national spotlight for the second consecutive game, hitting pay dirt twice after pulling off the same feat on Monday Night Football against the Cowboys last week. The recent explosion of touchdowns for the third-year man came out of left field, as he averaged just three scores each of his previous two seasons. Kirk -- a 5'11" slot receiver -- doesn't scream "red-zone target," but fantasy managers certainly won't scoff at his recent binge. Expectations for future production should be tempered in the event the wideout isn't able to maintain this rate of success in the red zone, as he is averaging just 3.0 receptions and 46.2 yards per game this season. However, until the scoring cools off, Kirk remains a solid fantasy option when the Cardinals resume play against the Dolphins following the team's upcoming bye week.
Oct 20, 2020
Scores twice on Monday night
Kirk corralled two of his three targets for 86 receiving yards and two touchdowns during Monday's 38-10 win against Dallas.
ANALYSIS
It was not an especially busy night for the Cardinals' receiving corps, as the team was able to lean upon a ground attack that racked up 261 yards and three TDs on the night. DeAndre Hopkins paced the group with eight targets, but no Arizona player exceeded three receptions during the contest, while Kirk's 86 yards represented a team-high. Kirk snagged a six-yard TD from Kyler Murray at the 12:58 mark of the second quarter, but the splash came two drives later when he slipped behind cornerback Darryl Worley, corralling a Murray deep ball to complete an 80-yard score. Kirk has now posted 75-plus receiving yards in back-to-back contests, after managing just 25.3 yards per game over his first three appearances of 2020.
Oct 11, 2020
Strong showing Sunday
Kirk caught five of seven targets for 78 yards in Sunday's 30-10 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
The third-year receiver came into Sunday with only 76 receiving yards through three games, in part due to a groin strain, but Kirk was able to more than double that total against a fairly hapless Jets secondary. With Kirk now 100 percent and DeAndre Hopkins drawing plenty of attention, he could be poised for another big game in Week 6 against a reeling Cowboys defense.
Oct 4, 2020
Three-yard touchdown
Kirk hauled in three passes on five targets for 19 yards and a touchdown in Week 4 against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Kirk returned to the field after missing the team's Week 3 contest against Detroit. He managed to find the end zone for a three-yard score late in the third quarter. However, he was out-gained by the likes of Dan Arnold and Chase Edmonds and his performance was salvaged by the score. In three healthy games, Kirk has not surpassed five targets.

Returning to action Week 4
Kirk (groin) is active for Sunday's game at Carolina.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out Week 3 due to a groin issue, Kirk managed to log limited sessions Wednesday through Friday before being tabbed as a "game-time decision" for Sunday. That said, Adam Schefter of ESPN later reported that Kirk was expected to play Week 4, pending a pregame workout. Now that Kirk has been given the all clear for game action, he'll look to be a more consistent option in the Cardinals' passing attack after turning just four touches into 60 yards during the first two outings of the season.
Oct 4, 2020
On track to play Sunday
Kirk (groin) is expected to be available for Sunday's game at Carolina, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old and fellow wideout DeAndre Hopkins (ankle) were both labeled game-time decisions by coach Kliff Kingsbury on Friday, but both players are apparently expected to play against the Panthers. Kirk worked as a limited practice participant all week, so it's not a major surprise he'll be ready to go if he can avoid a pregame setback.
Oct 2, 2020
Headed for GTD
Kirk (groin) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with the Panthers, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The same goes for star wideout DeAndre Hopkins, whose ankle injury kept him off the practice field all week. Kirk, on the other hand, managed limited practices Wednesday through Friday, leading to a 'questionable' tag on the final injury report. He could see extra targets if he's active and Hopkins isn't, though there still would be some risk with a guy who caught only three passes over the first two games of the season and then missed Week 3. All eyes will be on the Cardinals' inactive list Sunday morning ahead of their 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Sep 30, 2020
Returns in limited capacity
Kirk (groin) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
On the same day Kirk returned to the practice field, DeAndre Hopkins didn't join him due to an ankle injury. The Cardinals have yet to touch on the severity of Hopkins' concern, but it'll be something to watch as the week goes on due to the trickle-down effect it could have on the likes of Kirk. Still, Kirk may not be out of the woods himself as it pertains to his groin issue, which forced him to sit out Week 3 against the Lions.
Sep 25, 2020
Out this week
Kirk (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk dropped from 77 percent snap share and five targets in the season opener to 61 percent snap share and four targets Week 2 against Washington. It isn't clear that was related to the groin injury, but we do now know Kirk will miss at least one game. Andy Isabella and Trent Sherfield are the candidates to see snaps alongside DeAndre Hopkins and Larry Fitzgerald in three-wide formations, with Isabella's 4.31 speed making him a better fit for the downfield role Kirk (20.4 aDOT) has been used in this year.
Sep 25, 2020
Absent from practice again
Kirk (groin) isn't participating in the media-access portion of Friday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Absent from practice for a third straight day, Kirk figures to have a designation on the final injury report, though it remains to be seen which one. The lack of practice participation suggests a game-time decision is his best-case scenario.
Sep 24, 2020
Set to miss practice again
Kirk (groin) isn't on the field for the open portion of Thursday's practice and will go down as a non-participant for the second straight day, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk sustained the groin injury in the Cardinals' Week 2 win over Washington, and though he wasn't forced to exit the contest and played 61 percent of the offensive snaps, his movement was clearly affected by the issue. The Cardinals will see if the back-to-back maintenance days are enough for Kirk to heal up, but he'll likely need to practice in at least a limited fashion Friday just to garner a questionable designation heading into Sunday's game against the Lions. If Kirk ends up sitting out Week 3, added reps at receiver could be in store for Andy Isabella, Trent Sherfield and/or KeeSean Johnson.
Sep 23, 2020
Dealing with groin injury
Kirk didn't practice Wednesday due to a groin injury.
ANALYSIS
Kirk has got off to a slow start this season, hauling in a 49-yard catch and otherwise totaling 11 yards on his three other touches through two games. His snap count decreased from 77 percent of those on offense Week 1 to 61 percent this past Sunday against Washington. Perhaps the groin issue is to blame, but his status nonetheless should be watched closely as the weekend draws closer.
Sep 22, 2020
Totals 60 yards from scrimmage
Kirk netted two catches (on four targets) for 57 yards and had a three-year carry during Sunday's 30-15 win against Washington.
ANALYSIS
The bulk of Kirk's production occurred on a 49-yard bomb from Kyler Murray in the second quarter that led to a Zane Gonzalez field goal. Otherwise, Kirk has been relatively quiet this season, accounting for 11 yards from scrimmage on three touches. With Murray focusing most of his attention on DeAndre Hopkins (22 targets), his remaining passes have been split relatively evenly between Larry Fitzgerald (12), Kirk (nine), Chase Edmonds (nine), Dan Arnold (six) and Kenyan Drake (four). While that breakdown isn't exactly brewing with opportunity for Cardinals not named Hopkins, Kirk should have the occasional standout performance.
Sep 14, 2020
Held to one catch Week 1
Kirk recorded one catch (on five targets) for zero yards during Sunday's 24-20 win in San Francisco.
ANALYSIS
Following the arrival of DeAndre Hopkins in the offseason, Kirk was bumped down the depth chart, but one could argue that the attention the former brings would open up opportunities for the latter. Instead, Kyler Murray targeted Kirk 16 times, more than tripling Kirk's mark. Kirk also matched the target share of Larry Fitzgerald and Chase Edmonds, while ranking third among Cardinals wide receivers in offensive snaps (63 of 82) behind Hopkins (77) and Fitzgerald (65). Better days are to come for Kirk, but his output may be more volatile with Hopkins in the fold.
Aug 18, 2020
To challenge for 1,000 yards
Quarterback Kyler Murray believes each of Kirk, DeAndre Hopkins and Larry Fitzgerald can record 1,000 receiving yards in 2020, Cameron La Fontaine of 12 News KPNX reports. "Yeah for sure, I definitely think that's possible," Murray said.
ANALYSIS
One could argue that the addition of DeAndre Hopkins will decrease the target shares of the other receiving options in the Cardinals offense. After all, he averaged 159.5 targets per season over the last six years. On the other hand, he draws so much attention that he inevitably will open things up for the likes of Kirk, Fitzgerald and Kenyan Drake. Despite tending to an ankle injury for most of 2019 -- his second in the NFL -- Kirk put up a 68-709-3 line on 108 targets across 13 contests. An improved rapport with Murray and Hopkins' presence are decent indicators that Kirk will challenge for the first 1,000-yard campaign of his career.
Dec 30, 2019
Will avoid offseason surgery
Kirk admitted that the ankle injury he sustained Week 4 troubled him in the second half of the season, but the wideout said he won't require surgery during the offseason, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports. "It's not a fun deal, but I didn't want to miss any more games," Kirk said, who sat out three contests before returning to action Week 8. "If I can get out there and contribute and help the team, I'm going to do it. But to get to the offseason and get healthy and get [the ankle] 100 per
ANALYSIS
Kirk said the ankle in question was "rolled up on" several times after he returned from the three-game absence, but he still finished with 68 receptions for 709 yards and three touchdowns, falling just short of beating out Larry Fitzgerald (75-804-4) for top honors in all categories among Arizona receivers. He'll likely take the next few weeks off to get the ankle right but otherwise shouldn't face any restrictions during his offseason training.
Dec 22, 2019
Suiting up Week 16
Kirk (ankle) is listed as active Sunday in Seattle, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk hasn't missed a game since logging DNPs in Weeks 5 through 7 due to an ankle injury. In seven contests in the meantime, his offensive snap share has ranged from 86 to 99 percent on a weekly basis. Consequently, it's no surprise Kirk is among Kyler Murray's favorite receivers, as he's gathered in 37 of 56 targets for 407 yards and three TDs while turning five carries into 60 yards during that span.
Dec 22, 2019
Likely to suit up Sunday
Kirk (ankle), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Seattle, is expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk's ankle injury sidelined him for the Cardinals' first practice of Week 16 and limited his participation in the final two sessions, prompting coach Kliff Kingsbury to label the receiver as a "game-day decision" entering the weekend, per Darren Urban of the team's official site. Arizona will presumably put Kirk through a workout early Sunday before rendering a verdict on his status, but barring any setbacks, the wideout appears poised to avoid the inactive list, which will be released 90 minutes prior to the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. Since missing three games on account of the ankle injury between Weeks 5 and 7, Kirk has suited up for each of Arizona's last seven games, scoring three touchdowns (all in Week 10) while averaging 5.3 receptions and 66.7 yards from scrimmage.
Dec 20, 2019
Status in question for Week 16
Kirk (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest at Seattle.
ANALYSIS
An ankle issue has followed Kirk since he sustained the injury Week 4 against the Seahawks. This week, he was held out of practice Wednesday before wrapping it up with back-to-back limited showings. While coach Kliff Kingsbury considers Kirk a "game-day decision" -- per Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site -- it wouldn't surprise if Kirk continues to tough it out Sunday, which will be determined about 90 minutes before the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 20, 2019
Will be 'game-day decision'
Coach Kliff Kingsbury termed Kirk (ankle) a game-day decision for Sunday's game at Seattle, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Cardinals kept Kirk off the practice field entirely Wednesday before tabbing him as a limited participant on Thursday's injury report. An ankle issue was the culprit and likely is the same one that forced Kirk to miss three games earlier this season. If he's eventually deemed inactive about 90 minutes before Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, Arizona will rely on Larry Fitzgerald, Pharoh Cooper and perhaps rookie Andy Isabella to man the inside receiver positions in this offense.
Dec 19, 2019
Increases activity Thursday
Kirk (ankle) was limited at practice Thursday, Scott Bordow of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk's ankle issue has followed him throughout the season, limiting him some last week before keeping him off the practice field entirely Wednesday. Back in the fold Thursday, he's on the right path to rid himself of the injury by the end of the week. Even if he doesn't, though, he's managed to log at least 86 percent of the offensive snaps in seven consecutive games, racking up a 37-407-3 line on 56 targets during that stretch.
Dec 18, 2019
Doesn't practice Wednesday
Kirk (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk can't seem to shake the ankle issue that he sustained Week 4 and required three games off before he was cleared to play again. The injury reappeared last week, resulting in an LP/LP/FP practice regimen, and now he's not participating at all to kick off Week 16 prep. Kirk has two more opportunities to stem the tide before the Cardinals potentially tab him with a designation for Sunday's game at Seattle.
Dec 13, 2019
Ready to face Cleveland
Kirk (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Browns, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday before upgrading to full participation Friday. He should be fine to handle his usual role as Kyler Murray's top pass-catching weapon, coming off last week's 8-85-0 receiving line on 97 percent snap share in a 23-17 loss to Pittsburgh. The Browns have been a tough opponent for wide receivers, limiting the position to a 59.5 percent catch rate (9th) and 7.7 yards per target (8th).
Dec 12, 2019
Remains limited Thursday
Kirk (ankle) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk is dealing with an ankle injury this week, which may merely be a maintenance-related decision after he sat out Weeks 5 through 7 with a similar issue. Assuming he gets the all-clear by week's end -- or as late as 90 minutes before Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff -- he'll be looking to take advantage of a Browns defense that has given up 7.7 yards per target and 11 touchdowns to wide receivers in 13 games in 2019.
Dec 11, 2019
Gets 'limited' tag Wednesday
Kirk (ankle) was limited at practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Kirk was sidelined Weeks 5, 6 and 7 due to an ankle injury, which may be affecting him yet again. Nevertheless, the second-year wideout was able to handle some reps Wednesday, so he's putting himself in a position to be available Sunday against the Browns, when he'll look to take advantage of his 8.8 targets per game on the season.
Oct 27, 2019
Busy in return to action
Kirk (ankle) secured eight of 11 targets for 79 yards and rushed once for 19 yards in the Cardinals' 31-9 loss to the Saints on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Kirk was Kyler Murray's favorite receiver in the receiver's return from a three-game absence, as he paced the Cardinals in both receptions and targets. Kirk now has double-digit targets in three of his first five games of the season, and Sunday's yardage tally was his second highest of the campaign, although it's certainly worth noting he's yet to find the end zone. Kirk will look to keep the momentum going against the 49ers in a Week 9 Thursday night battle.
Oct 27, 2019
Returns to action Sunday
Kirk (ankle) is listed as active Sunday at New Orleans, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Entering the weekend with yet another "questionable" tag due to a lingering right ankle injury, Kirk will play for the first time since Week 4, as Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Sunday morning. Kirk's workload is the biggest question mark hanging over his head. With no full practices under his belt, his snap count may be capped to ensure he suffers no in-game setbacks. Having said that, Kirk has a decent chance to make a dent versus a Saints defense that has surrendered 8.5 YPT to wide receivers this season.
Oct 25, 2019
Headed for game-time call
Kirk (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with New Orleans, Mike Jurecki of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk has been limited in practice the past three weeks, unable to progress to full participation. A 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff makes it easy for fantasy managers to make other plans, with the Cardinals potentially waiting until they release their inactive list to reveal the final decision. Larry Fitzgerald, Trent Sherfield and Damiere Byrd handled most of the WR snaps last week, with Pharoh Cooper and Andy Isabella also mixing in. Kirk was considered a game-time decision last week and didn't end up playing in a 27-21 win over the Giants.
Oct 24, 2019
Limited again Thursday
Kirk (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Kirk has maintained the same workload in practice for three consecutive weeks, which wasn't enough for him to suit up on the first two occasions. As a result, he may have to practice without limitations Friday in order to have a chance to suit up Sunday in New Orleans. If Kirk is inactive for a fourth game in a row, Pharoh Cooper again will be called upon for slot reps behind top option Larry Fitzgerald.
Oct 23, 2019
Another limited practice Wednesday
Kirk (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
As coach Kliff Kingsbury has noted a number of times, the last step in Kirk's recovery from a right ankle injury will be adeptly cutting while running routes. Until he reaches that point without issue, Kirk may not be listed as more than "limited" on Cardinals injury reports. Fortunately for the second-year wide receiver, he has two more chances this week to make an impression on the team's training staff.
Oct 20, 2019
Not playing Week 7
Kirk (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's road game against the Giants, Scott Bordow of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk will have to wait another week to suit up as he makes his way back from a right ankle injury, primarily due to an inability to perform cuts capably while running routes. With snaps available out of the slot, Pharoh Cooper again should see an elevated role behind the Cardinals' top inside receiver, Larry Fitzgerald.
Oct 20, 2019
Trending toward sitting Week 7
Kirk (ankle), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, isn't expected to suit up, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The Cardinals are still seemingly treating Kirk as a game-time decision, but Darren Urban of the team's official site suggested Friday that the wideout still isn't "all the way there" when it comes to making cuts while running routes. With that in mind, Rapoport suggests that Kirk will likely need another week of rehab and recovery before presumably returning to action Week 8 in New Orleans. If Kirk is in fact out when Arizona releases its inactive list around 11:30 a.m. EDT, Damiere Byrd, KeeSean Johnson and Trent Sherfield will vie for reps and targets behind top wideout Larry Fitzgerald.
Oct 20, 2019
Headed for game-time decision
Kirk (ankle), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, is viewed as a game-day decision, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Fortunately, the Cardinals and Giants will kick off at 1 p.m. EDT as part of the early slate of games, so fantasy managers waiting on Kirk's status should have ample alternatives at their disposal if the wideout is ruled out for a third straight contest. Kirk practiced in limited fashion throughout the week, but Urban noted Friday that the 22-year-old still isn't completely comfortable cutting.
Oct 20, 2019
Not on track to play
Kirk (ankle), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, isn't expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Sidelined for the Cardinals' past two games with the right ankle injury, Kirk took a questionable tag into the weekend after practicing on a limited basis all week. While the Cardinals have described Kirk as a game-time decision, Schefter's report implies there isn't much confidence he'll ultimately gain clearance ahead of the 1 p.m. EDT kickoff. If that's the case, Larry Fitzgerald, Damiere Byrd, KeeSean Johnson and Trent Sherfield would likely handle the majority of the snaps at receiver.
Oct 18, 2019
Officially listed as questionable
Kirk (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk's game status was a foregone conclusion after coach Kliff Kingsbury referred to the wide receiver as a game-time decision earlier Friday. Kirk was a limited participant at each practice the past two weeks, never quite making it back to full participation. He reportedly still looks less than 100 percent in practice, but the Cardinals could bring him back into action if he looks good in pregame warmups before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. EST kickoff.
Oct 18, 2019
Shaping up as game-time call
Kirk (ankle) has shown improved cutting ability in practice, but he still isn't back to full strength and is headed for a game-time decision Sunday against the Giants, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
A limited practice participant the past two weeks, Kirk presumably will be deemed questionable on the final injury report. With David Johnson (ankle) also a game-time decision, Kyler Murray may have his work cut out for him, albeit against a porous Giants pass defense. The Cardinals used a rotation behind Larry Fitzgerald and KeeSean Johnson in Week 6, with Trent Sherfield playing 52 percent of snaps while Pharoh Cooper (35 percent), Damiere Byrd (22 percent) and Andy Isabella (17 percent) all mixed in.
Oct 17, 2019
Still has cap on practice reps
Kirk (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk continues to have a cap on his reps, but at least he's practicing as his right ankle gets healthier. On Wednesday, coach Kliff Kingsbury even told Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com that Kirk is "closer than he was last week." Kirk still must display an ability to cut while running, though, so he may have to progress to full participation Friday to get the all-clear for Sunday's road game versus the Giants.
Oct 13, 2019
Out again Week 6
Kirk (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite being limited in practice all week, Kirk will stick to the sideline for a second straight contest. His reps in the slot will primarily go to Pharoh Cooper, though rookie Andy Isabella also is on hand for those snaps.
Oct 13, 2019
Not expected to play Sunday
Kirk (ankle), who is listed as questionable on the official injury report, is not expected to play Sunday against Atlanta, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite this report, fantasy owners will still want to check his status ahead of Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff. Andy Isabella and Pharoh Cooper would get reps out of the slot Sunday against the Falcons if Kirk is out.
Oct 11, 2019
Headed for GTD
Kirk (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with the Falcons, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The same goes for Cardinals running back David Johnson (back), who said Friday that he expects to play. Kirk hasn't commented on his own availability, so it's best to view him as truly questionable ahead of Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff. The Cardinals will release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes before the game.
Oct 10, 2019
Remains limited Thursday
Kirk (ankle) was limited at Thursday's practice, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A cap remained on Kirk's reps as he works his way back from a right ankle injury. Ultimately, the Cardinals will give a sense of his potential to return this weekend with the release of Friday's practice report. Another absence from Kirk may allow Andy Isabella and Pharoh Cooper to get reps out of the slot Sunday against the Falcons.
Oct 9, 2019
Limited at practice Wednesday
Kirk (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
A week removed from not practicing at all due to a right ankle injury, Kirk is easing into Week 6 preparations. He doesn't necessary need to progress to full participant Thursday and/or Friday in order to suit up Sunday against the Falcons, but he would help his cause if he does so.
Oct 9, 2019
Returns to practice
Kirk (ankle) participated in practice Wednesday, Scott Bordow of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk was unable to practice last week due to an ankle injury suffered in the Cardinals' Week 4 loss to the Seahawks. With a return to drills, he's putting himself on track to play Sunday against the Falcons. Wednesday's injury report will reveal how many reps he was able to handle.
Oct 7, 2019
May practice this week
Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Kirk (ankle) could practice this week but the team will remain "safe" with his recovery, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk didn't practice last week after sustaining the ankle injury Week 4 against the Bengals, but he appears to have avoided a more serious injury. The 22-year-old hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Falcons, but it sounds as though the team may remain cautious and wait until at least Week 7 for his return. Kirk could certainly change that outlook with significant progress at practice this week.
Oct 4, 2019
Ruled out
Kirk (ankle) is out for Sunday's game in Cincinnati, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk was unable to practice throughout the week, limited to rehab work on a side field while sporting a brace around his injured ankle. Coach Kliff Kingsbury said the wide receiver's injury "could have been a lot worse", perhaps hinting at a return within the next few weeks. Kirk's next chance to play would be Week 6 against the Falcons, or else Week 7 against the Giants. With Damiere Byrd (hamstring) also expected to miss the Week 5 matchup, the Cardinals will turn to KeeSean Johnson, Trent Sherfield, Andy Isabella and Pharoh Cooper behind No. 1 receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Last week, most of the playing time went to Fitzgerald, Kirk, Johnson and Sherfield.
Oct 3, 2019
Still not practicing Thursday
Kirk (ankle) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Although he officially received a second consecutive DNP, Kirk was spotted working out on a side field and catching passes with a brace on his ankle, per Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com. Such an observation backs up the belief of coach Kliff Kingsbury that Kirk's injury "could have been a lot worse," according to Kyle Odegard of the team's official site. Kirk is trending toward inactive status Sunday in Cincinnati, which will open the door for recent pickup Pharoh Cooper to earn snaps out of the slot along with Larry Fitzgerald.
Oct 2, 2019
Held out of practice
Kirk (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Scott Bordow of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Prior to Wednesday's session, coach Kliff Kingsbury told Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com that Kirk would be a limited participant. However, that didn't come to pass, which is more in line with Kingsbury's thoughts -- "not likely," per Bordow -- about Kirk's availability Sunday at Cincinnati. In addition to Kirk, Damiere Byrd (hamstring) isn't expected to play, either. Such a scenario would leave Pharoh Cooper as the lone slot receiver aside from Larry Fitzgerald in Week 5, according to Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site.
Oct 2, 2019
Escapes without major injury
Kirk (ankle) is expected to miss Sunday's tilt against the Bengals but isn't nursing a major injury, Scott Bordow of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Kick will participate in Wednesday's practice on a limited basis, according to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com. It's certainly positive news that the second-year wideout is able to practice in some capacity, indicating that the injury he suffered Week 4 versus Seattle may not be a long-term issue. With Damiere Byrd (hamstring) also expected to miss Week 5, per Bordow, the Cardinals are a candidate to sign another receiver to the 53-man roster.
Sep 30, 2019
Could miss time with ankle injury
Coach Kliff Kingsburg confirmed that Kirk suffered an ankle injury in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks and suggested the wideout could be at risk of missing time, Scott Bordow of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Kingsbury didn't elaborate much on the extent of the injury and said he wouldn't provide another update until Wednesday, the coach noted that he "hates" it for Kirk and relayed that the team would look into signing another receiver. Kirk is presumably slated to undergo tests Monday as the Cardinals look to get more clarity on the injury, but fantasy managers may already want to brace for the possibility of the 22-year-old sitting out the Week 6 matchup with the Bengals.
Sep 29, 2019
Suffers late ankle injury
Kirk exited late in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks due to an ankle injury, Scott Bordow of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Kliff Kingsbury had no update on Kirk's status after the game. Expect the second-year wide receiver to undergo further tests on the injury. Kirk had four catches for 37 yards before exiting.
