Sherfield signed with the Cardinals' practice squad Wednesday.

The veteran wideout from Vanderbilt was cut by the Broncos on Saturday, but he's already found a new home in Arizona. Sherfield appeared in all of Denver's first 10 games this season, catching three of four targets for 21 yards across 311 total snaps (164 on offense, 147 on special teams). He could be added to the Cardinals' active roster at some point this season, especially with Marvin Harrison (appendix) currently sidelined.

The Broncos waived Sherfield on Saturday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

The move comes after the Broncos signed Lil'Jordan Humphrey from the Giants' practice squad to the active roster Wednesday. Sherfield served in a depth role at wide receiver and posted three catches (on four targets) for 21 yards across 10 regular-season games. He could garner interest on the waiver wire from teams looking to add a wide receiver who can also contribute on special teams.

Sherfield (toe) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.

Sherfield did not participate in Wednesday's practice due to a toe issue, but the injury doesn't appear to be severe as he was able to practice Thursday without limitations. Given his full practice, he should be available for Sunday's AFC West clash against the Chiefs. Sherfield caught three passes (on four targets) for 21 yards through the first five games of the regular season, but he has not recorded a target over the Broncos' last five games.

Sherfield (toe) did not participate at practice Wednesday.

Sherfield was on the field for a season-low 18 total snaps in Week 10 versus the Raiders, which would make good sense if he hurt his toe during that contest. He'll probably need to practice in some capacity Thursday or Friday to have a shot to play in Week 11 versus the Chiefs.

Sherfield was not listed on Denver's injury report Monday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

Sherfield was banged up in Sunday's win over the Texans, but he was able to return to the game. He contributed primarily on special teams and should be ready to occupy the same role in Thursday's Week 10 matchup against the Raiders.

Sherfield suffered a knee injury in Sunday's 18-15 win over the Texans, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.

Sherfield exited the contest in the second half due to the injury, and he was originally deemed to be questionable to return. The exact nature of the wide receiver's injury is currently unclear, and he'll likely undergo additional testing in the near future.

Sherfield will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Sherfield was on the field for 12 of the Vikings' 77 offensive snaps and recorded a six-yard catch on his lone target in Monday's 30-12 win over the Bears.

The reception was Sherfield's first since Week 11, as the 28-year-old has been active for each of the Vikings' ensuing four games but has seen limited snaps on offense while primarily contributing on Minnesota's special-teams units. For the season, Sherfield has produced an 8-83-1 receiving line on nine targets over 14 games.

Sherfield had one reception for 11 yards in Sunday's win at Jacksonville.

Sherfield played on 11 of the offense's 84 snaps as he's been working as the No. 4 receiver. He's going to have a small role in the offense as long as the top three receivers are healthy and with T.J. Hockenson back to full speed.

Sherfield played 10 offensive snaps, his highest total since Week 4 versus Green Bay, but he wasn't able to make much of an impact against Indianapolis. With Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison garnering the vast majority of looks at wide receiver, Sherfield doesn't have a major role in Minnesota's offense.

Sherfield had a 10-yard touchdown reception on his only target in Thursday's loss to the Rams.

Despite the touchdown, Sherfield has a minimal role in the passing game. He played just three snaps on offense and has just five targets this season. His touchdown likely won't earn him more playing time as the No. 4 wide receivers barring injuries in the receiving corps.

Sherfield did not have target or carry in Sunday's loss to Detroit. He played four snaps on offense.

Sherfield hasn't had a target the past two games and just two the past four games as he isn't on the field much as the fourth receiver. He's mostly been playing special teams (20 snaps Sunday).

Sherfield played on 15 of the offense's 63 snaps as he worked as the No. 4 receiver with Jordan Addison out with an ankle injury. Sherfield could play just a few snaps on offense once Addison returns.

He moved into the fourth receiver role behind Jalen Nailor, who had 50 snaps on offense and four targets, and Brandon Powell (32 snaps and two targets ) with Jordan Addison (ankle) sidelined. Sherfield could see an expanded role Week 3 against Houston if both Addison and Justin Jefferson (quad) are sidelined.

The Vikings will begin the season with a starting wide receiver trio of Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and Jalen Nailor. Brandon Powell is likely the No. 4 receiver with Trishton Jackson and Sherfield more in depth roles and getting usage on special teams.

Sherfield had three receptions for 46 yards on six targets, including a 33-yard touchdown, in Saturday's preseason win over Las Vegas.

Sherfield is competing for the fourth or fifth receiver role among a crowded field that includes Brandon Powell, Trishton Jackson, Lucky Jackson and Thayer Thomas. The veteran may have a lead on a roster spot at this point in the preseason.

The Vikings are set to sign Sherfield to a one-year deal, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Per Goessling, Sherfield's deal is for $1.79 million and includes a $400,000 signing bonus. In 17 regular-season games with the Bills in 2023, Sherfield caught 11 of his 22 targets for 86 yards and one touchdown. With the Vikings, the 28-year-old figures to compete with Brandon Powell for wideout snaps and targets behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.

Sherfield had one big primetime moment in the division-clinching win over the Dolphins in Week 18, which just so happened to come against his previous team. Other than that, there wasn't much opportunity that came Sherfield's way since the Bills had several superior weapons across wide receiver, tight end and running back, and Sherfield never moved higher than the fourth spot on the WR depth chart. He was under a one-year deal, but with fellow receiver Gabe Davis a good bet to move to another team, the Bills may try to bring Sherfield back on a similar contract.

Sherfield played 15 of 77 snaps on offense and recorded one catch for nine yards on two targets in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Chiefs.

The 15 snaps placed Sherfield fourth among Bills receivers, trailing Gabe Davis (63), Stefon Diggs (61) and Khalil Shakir (47) but ranking ahead of Deonte Harty (three). Sherfield has drawn five targets over the Bills' last two contests, but he's not expected to see his profile in the passing attack expand while all of Davis, Diggs and Shakir remain healthy. It doesn't help Sherfield's case that tight end Dawson Knox made his return from injured reserve in Kansas City, which could result in fellow tight end Dalton Kincaid (shoulder) absorbing some of the snaps in the slot or on the perimeter that might have otherwise fallen to Shakir, Sherfield or Harty.

Sherfield (ankle) is active for Sunday's matchup with the Jets, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.

Sherfield was able to increase his workload at practice as the week went on and he'll be able to go Sunday against New York. The wide receiver has been limited to just one catch for nine yards over the last three games.

Sherfield was able to practice in full Friday, which means he's likely closer to the probable end of the official questionable designation. If he's sidelined in Week 11 though, Deonte Hardy figures to run more routes Sunday as a result.

Playing ahead of Khalil Shakir and Deonte Harty, the veteran wideout was unable to make the most of his opportunities. With so many mouths to feed on a talented offense in Buffalo, Sherfield will likely continue to find it difficult to consistently produce for fantasy purposes. The Bills are set to square off against the Jaguars in Week 5.

Sherfield caught two of his three targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 37-3 win over the Commanders.

Sherfield saw his first targets as a member of the Bills on Sunday, but he was unable to make much happen with his opportunities. The veteran's offensive snap share has increased each week, as he was on the field for 46 percent of snaps in Week 3. Over the first two weeks, Sherfield saw snap shares of 16 percent and 39 percent. His increased usage is promising, but his overall lack of involvement in the passing game leaves much to be desired. The 27-year-old receiver will likely continue to compete with Deonte Harty and Khalil Shakir for targets behind many of the Bills' talented skill position players with more establish roles, like Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, James Cook, Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid. Sherfield will look to take a step forward in a Week 4 matchup against the Dolphins.

Sherfield has yet to be targeted through two games even though he's seen 39 snaps on offense.

The Bills have a crowded offense, and barring injury, there are five players that should hog up just about all of the catches -- Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, James Cook, Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid. That leaves Shefield and the two other receivers that made the final roster -- Deonte Harty and Khalil Shakir -- getting the scraps, and so far for Sherfield there hasn't been a morsel. If we're looking for a bright side, his 39 snaps outpace Harty's 28 and Shakir's 19, so technically we can consider Sherfield the team's No. 3 receiver for now.

Sherfield remains on the Bills' roster following this week's cutdowns.

Sherfield was all over the field all summer amid a heavy competition for the final wideout spots, and in the end he won a job while the Bills cut others or moved younger receivers to the practice squad. The intrigue doesn't stop here, as the Bills' No. 3-No. 5 receiver spots seem to present a fluid situation, so the 27-year-old journeyman could have a somewhat important depth role in the offense once all is said and done.

Sherfield continues to have a good summer and drew more praise from offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey this week, Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News reports. "I just didn't know how good Trent could be when he first got here," Dorsey said. "I really didn't. I thought he'd be a great piece for us, and a guy who would compete for a spot and everything.

Sherfield, who posted a 30-417-2 line for the Dolphins last season, profiles as a good candidate for snaps as a middle-of-the-field guy. The Bills are settled at the top two spots with Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, but there's no clear-cut pecking order after that. Sherfield looks like a good bet for a roster spot at this stage, and he could work his way all the way up to the No. 3 role (one that might turn into more of a committee) if he continues to shine.

Sherfield has "stepped up and been a favorite" of Josh Allen's during spring practices, writes The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia.

He's definitely in the mix to be the Bills' No. 3 wideout behind Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis.

He established himself as a trustworthy No. 3 wideout down the stretch of the 2022 season, so though Sherfield will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, the Dolphins could have real motivation to re-sign him as reliable depth behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

Sherfield was not targeted during Sunday's 11-6 win over the Jets.

Sherfield didn't draw a target from Skylar Thompson despite having been involved enough Week 17 to draw six looks. As such, the regular-season finale counts as Sherfield's first game of the 2022 regular season without a target. He could be more involved in the wild-card matchup against Buffalo, especially if the Dolphins have Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) or Teddy Bridgewater back under center.

While he wasn't efficient with increased volume, Sherfield could be a sneaky fantasy option for Week 18's regular-season finale against the Jets dependent on the health of Miami's quarterback position, as if Thompson is back under center a similar gameplan could be deployed.

Sherfield caught both of his targets for 25 yards during Sunday's 26-20 loss to Green Bay.

Sherfield once again handled a key complementary role for Miami's offense, though his usage didn't translate to fantasy production. With just two touchdowns on the year, and only three games with at least 50 receiving yards, Sherfield can only be considered a fantasy dart throw with a divisional matchup against the Patriots on deck Week 17.

Sherfield could not secure his only target during Saturday's 32-29 loss to the Bills.

Sherfield had seen 17 targets in his last four games prior to Saturday's loss, so his lack of involvement could have been partially due to adverse weather conditions. The Dolphins get a home matchup against the Packers in Week 16, but Sherfield's fantasy relevance is still restricted to extremely deep formats.

Sherfield had one reception (four targets) for seven yards in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Chargers.

Sherfield was unable to reproduce last week's 75-yard touchdown catch, crashing back down to earth with his worst stat line since Week 6. The 26-year-old still saw his usual allotment of targets (four) as the Dolphins' third receiving option. Jaylen Waddle (fibula) struggled and has been limited by injury, and now Tyreek Hill (ankle) may be banged up as well, so Sherfield could see his usage increase to help offset any limitations Miami's star wideout duo may suffer against the Bills on Saturday.

Sherfield's only catch on three targets went for a 75-yard touchdown in Sunday's 33-17 loss to the 49ers.

Sherfield started with a bang, as his touchdown came on the very first offensive play of the game and comfortably marked the longest gain of his career. Although he didn't make any other catches, Sherfield could garner more looks should teammate Jaylen Waddle continue to be impacted by a leg injury suffered Sunday in Week 14 versus the Chargers.

Sherfield secured two of five targets for 33 yards in the Dolphins' 30-15 win over the Texans on Sunday.

Sherfield continued to function as the Dolphins' clear-cut third receiver, checking in behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle for third in targets on the day. The fifth-year veteran is up to a career-high 24 receptions and 280 yards through 10 games and will have a chance to face the team he spent 2021 with, the 49ers, in a Week 13 road showdown.

Sherfield secured four of five targets for 63 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 39-17 win over the Browns.

Sherfield's highlight of the day was a 14-yard, toe-tapping touchdown catch via perfectly placed pass from Tua Tagovailoa in the second quarter, his first score of the season. Though Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle account for the vast majority of Miami's passing production, Sherfield has emerged as a more than competent No. 3 complementary man, and he turned in his best performance of the season Week 10. Sherfield has played more than 50 percent of offensive snaps in eight straight games, and it's possible that he could continue to see more regular looks after the Dolphins return from a bye. In deeper fantasy formats, the 26-year-old warrants monitoring, as he should be available on the vast majority of waiver wires when Miami takes on Houston in Week 12.

Sherfield, who was a late addition to the injury report, is in uniform, but if he's limited at all, Cedrick Wilson could see an uptick in opportunities Sunday. However, as long as Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are both available, they'll continue to command the bulk of Miami's WR targets, thus limiting the fantasy upside of the team's complementary options. In a Week 9 win over the Bears, Sherfield caught all three of his targets for 27 yards, and overall has put together an 18/184/0 receiving line through nine contests.

The Dolphins added Sherfield to their Week 10 injury report, and he'll be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns with a toe injury, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.

Sherfield may have picked up the injury at some point during the Dolphins' final practice of the week Friday. The Dolphins will likely see how Sherfield fares in pregame warmups before making a call on his status before the team releases its inactive list 90 minutes before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Sherfield has settled in as the Dolphins' No. 3 wideout behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but he has yet to reach the end zone this season and has topped out at four receptions and 55 receiving yards over his nine appearances.

Sherfield caught all three of his targets for 25 yards during Sunday's 35-32 win over the Bears.

Sherfield continues to show well for Miami as the No. 3 option behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, arguably the league's most dynamic wide receiver tandem. He recorded a key third-down conversion in the first quarter via an 18-yard catch, but while Sherfield's role has become important for the Dolphins, there are still no signs of it translating into fantasy relevance. Miami will prepare to host the Browns in Week 10.

Sherfield secured two of three targets for 25 yards during Sunday's 31-27 win over the Lions.

Sherfield had a near touchdown on an 11-yard catch, but he was ruled just short of what would have been his first score of the season. While Sherfield's production is limited to the leftovers of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, both of whom surpassed 100 receiving yards Sunday, it's encouraging to see him log a sixth straight game playing more than half of offensive snaps. In extremely deep leagues, Sherfield could carry some end-of-roster fantasy value against the Bears in Week 9.

Sherfield secured all three of his targets for 44 yards during Sunday's 16-10 win over Pittsburgh.

Sherfield appears to have established himself above Cedrick Wilson as Miami's No. 3 wideout, as he's now played at least 50 percent of offensive snaps in five straight games. Still, Miami's aerial attack runs through Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, with little left over for depth receiving options aside from the occasional big game from tight end Mike Gesicki. Sherfield has only surpassed 10 receiving yards twice this season.

Sherfield secured one of two targets for five yards during 40-17 loss to the Jets.

Sherfield's opportunities on offense dwindled with Cedrick Wilson back in action and a third-string quarterback under center for Miami. However, he still logged 66 percent of offensive snaps. Sherfield can't be considered a viable fantasy option while he remains in a depth role, but he possesses limited upside if starters above him on the depth chart are forced to miss time.

Sherfield secured four of six targets for 55 yards during Thursday's 27-15 loss to the Bengals.

Sherfield handled a significant role behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle with Cedrick Wilson (ribs) inactive Thursday, recording the third highest receiving total of his career. If Wilson gets back on the field Week 5 versus the Jets, though, Sherfield will stand to revert to a depth spot. When Sherfield does get opportunities on offense in Miami, though, his familiarity with coach Mike McDaniel's offense makes him worthy of fantasy consideration in leagues with deep starting requirements.

Sherfield caught one of two targets for eight yards during Sunday's 20-7 win versus the Patriots.

Sherfield was on the field for 20 offensive snaps during his Dolphins debut, putting him firmly as the No. 4 wideout behind Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Cedrick Wilson. With Hill and Waddle commanding the majority of the attention, it's unlikely Sherfield will have much fantasy value moving forward.

The Dolphins are signing Sherfield to a one-year contract Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Sherfield reunites with coach Mike McDaniel in Miami, so it seems likely that he will reprise a similar role to the one he handled in San Francisco. Of course, with three straight seasons of under 100 receiving yards under his belt, Sherfield remains off the fantasy radar even with a new team. He stands to handle a depth role and contribute on special teams in the 2022 season.

Sherfield caught his lone target for 13 yards in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Rams.

Sherfield was limited to just 10 offensive snaps (14 percent), which was in line with how he was being used all season. The 25-year-old only had one game (Week 13 vs. SEA) where he received more than 50 percent of the offensive snaps. Sherfield showed some promise in the preseason, building a rapport with rookie quarterback, Trey Lance, so there is a chance the 49ers elect to re-sign the unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Sherfield caught one of two targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 23-7 win over Houston.

Sherfield was on the field for eight offensive snaps (13 percent), which is in line with the amount of playing time he has been receiving at No. 4 on the depth chart. The 25-year-old got his first catch and multi-target game since Week 13, and it was no coincidence that Trey Lance was under center. The two young players showed some rapport during the preseason, when they connected on two long plays from scrimmage. It is unclear whether Lance will get another start or if Jimmy Garoppolo (thumb) will heal before next week's tilt against the Rams, but Sherfield won't see enough playing time to make a fantasy impact, even if one quarterback prefers him over the other.

Sherfield logged five offensive snaps (nine percent) and did not record a catch on his lone target in Sunday's 31-13 win over the Falcons.

Jauan Jennings (3-28-1) maintained his role as the 49ers' third wideout on the depth chart, keeping Sherfield buried in his recent role as the fourth wideout and special teams contributor. The 25-year-old has just seven receptions through 14 games this season, so he won't garner fantasy attention heading into a Week 16 matchup against the Titans.

Sherfield played 13 snaps on offense Sunday, but did not receive a target in a 26-23 overtime win over the Bengals.

Deebo Samuel (groin) returned from injury this week, pushing Sherfield back down to fourth on the receiving pecking order behind Jauan Jennings (three catches for 46 yards). The 24-year-old did recover a fumble on the special teams unit, a role he is likely to continue filling in the current wideout configuration. Sherfield would need multiple key position players to be ruled out before having any sort of fantasy value heading into next Sunday's matchup against Atlanta.

Sherfield had two receptions (five targets) for 16 yards in Sunday's 30-23 loss to Seattle.

Deebo Samuel (groin) was forced to sit this one out, so Sherfield jumped into the starting lineup alongside Brandon Aiyuk. The 25-year-old filled in for Samuel in the fourth quarter of last week's contest, so it wasn't shocking to see the wideout take on the starter's snaps (98 percent of offensive snaps). Sherfield saw a season-high five targets, but was understandably unable to replicate the star's production who he was replacing. Samuel was initially expected to miss one to two weeks, so he could return as soon as this Sunday's matchup against the Bengals. Still, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle figure to take on most of Samuel's production for any time he misses, with Sherfield and Jauan Jennings getting bumps in value for deep formats.

The 25-year-old has showed some promise early on this season, but he may fall back to fourth on the depth chart once Aiyuk is back to full strength.

Sherfield has likely earned a roster spot after a strong preseason showing, according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner.

Assuming he does make the cut, the undrafted Vanderbilt product will likely serve on special teams against the Lions to kick off the regular season.

Sherfield wasn't targeted and notched a tackle on punt coverage during Monday's 38-10 victory at Dallas.

The Cardinals made fellow wide receiver KeeSean Johnson a healthy scratch, but Sherfield handled just six of 62 snaps on offense while logging 13 special-teams plays. On the season, Sherfield has one catch on 23 offensive snaps through six contests, so he holds little to no sway in the fantasy realm.

Sherfield has had to record a touch or target, but his work on special teams has been consistent. On Sunday in particular, he had a tackle on a kick return and downed a punt at Detroit's nine-yard line. Having said that, Sherfield has received just eight offensive snaps through three games, despite KeeSean Johnson spending the first two contests on the reserve/COVID-19 list and Christian Kirk (groin) sitting out Week 3. It appears Sherfield will require multiple injuries to wide receivers at the same time to make an impact on offense.

Sherfield's sole contribution in the play-by-play log was a downed punt in the middle of the third quarter. Moving forward, he'll have difficulty eking out chances on offense due to the presence of DeAndre Hopkins, Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk at the top of the wide receiver depth chart, and Andy Isabella occupying the No. 4 spot. Expect Sherfield to continue being a regular on special teams, however.

He ranked behind Damiere Byrd (88 percent) and ahead of Andy Isabella (two percent while KeeSean Johnson was inactive, but the workload didn't amount to any production, as Sherfield was unable to gather in either of his targets. With a knee injury in tow, Sherfield's availability now is in question ahead of Thursday's divisional matchup with the 49ers.
