Will Levis Injury News & Updates
Keep up with the latest injuries from the Seahawks vs Titans game on Sunday with our National Football League injury report.Jul 23, 2025
Placed on IR by Titans
Levis (shoulder) was placed on IR by the Titans on Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The move comes as no surprise, following Monday's news that Levis had elected to have season-ending surgery on his right shoulder. In his absence, this year's No. 1 overall pick, Cameron Ward is poised to handle the bulk first-team QB reps in training camp practices as the Titans prepare him to be their starter in Week 1, per Jim Wyatt.
Jul 21, 2025
Getting season-ending surgery
Levis will soon have season-ending surgery for a shoulder injury that he initially sustained early in the 2024 campaign, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis aggravated the injury later in the 2024 season and then apparently dealt with discomfort this spring/summer. With his shoulder still not right at the start of training camp, he's opting for surgery and hoping to return for 2026, at which point he'll be in the final year of his rookie contract. The Titans are left with Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle as the backup QB options on their current roster behind presumed starter and No. 1 overall pick Cameron Ward.

Trade coming soon?
Levis is a candidate to be traded after Tennessee drafted fellow quarterback Cam Ward at No. 1 overall Thursday night, KLTV's Terry McCormick reports.
ANALYSIS
The pick was expected for some time beforehand, and the Titans likely would've already moved Levis if they got an offer for something like a mid-round pick. The question now is whether they'll trade him for less than that, creating a fresh start for both parties after back-to-back disastrous seasons for the Tennessee offense since Levis was taken 33rd overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. Levis turns 26 in June and hasn't shown much on the field that hints at developing into a legitimate NFL starter, but he does have a strong arm, decent mobility and a prototypical build (6-foot-4, 229 pounds).

Splits reps with Rudolph
Levis completed nine of 17 passes for 175 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions in Sunday's 23-14 loss to the Texans. He added four rushes for eight yards while losing a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Levis appeared in a game for the first time since Week 15 and led seven of the team's 10 offensive possessions. His statistical output was relatively strong, though the Texans played without several of their key defensive players and 144 of his 175 yards came in the fourth quarter with the Titans down multiple scores. Levis had a rocky second season as a pro, totaling 13 touchdowns while turning the ball over 17 times. With Tennessee in line to pick first overall, it would come as a significant surprise if he is atop the depth chart entering training camp in 2025.

In line to start Sunday
Head coach Brian Callahan relayed Friday that Levis will start Sunday's season finale against the Texans, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Wyatt, Callahan said that fellow QB Mason Rudolph will also play in Sunday's contest. Of the two, however, Levis profiles as the higher-percentage Week 18 fantasy dart, with Turron Davenport of ESPN.com and John Glennon of NashvillePost.com suggesting that if Levis plays well Sunday, the snap share could tilt in his favor.
Dec 30, 2024
Set to split reps at QB in Week 18
Titans head coach Brian Callahan said Monday that Levis and Mason Rudolph will both play Sunday against Houston, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis was moved to a backup role in favor of Rudolph over the Titans' past two games, but the team has gone 0-2 since the change. Rudolph has somewhat struggled with a 3:4 TD:INT in the pair of contests, so he hasn't done enough to establish a stranglehold on the starting QB role. With both Levis and Rudolph likely to get snaps in Week 18, neither profiles as an appealing fantasy play.
Dec 22, 2024
Suiting up as backup
Levis (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Despite losing his starting job, Levis is active for Sunday's game after logging a limited practice session Friday. He'll be set to be the backup to Mason Rudolph.
Dec 22, 2024
Expected to be active as backup
Levis (shoulder), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts, is expected to be active and serve as the backup to starter Mason Rudolph, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis was added to the injury report Friday, getting in a limited session. Coach Brian Callahan already had announced Mason Rudolph as the team's starting quarterback for Week 16 against the Colts.
Dec 20, 2024
Questionable for Week 16
Levis (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Levis was added to the injury report Friday, getting in a limited session. Coach Brian Callahan had already announced Mason Rudolph as the team's starting quarterback for Week 16 against the Colts. Trevor Siemian is on the practice squad as a candidate to be elevated should Levis be unable to serve as the team's QB2.
Dec 18, 2024
Benched in favor of Rudolph
Mason Rudolph will replace Levis as the starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Colts, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It sounds like the change is expected to hold for the final three games of the season, albeit with coach Brian Callahan reserving the right to change his mind on a week-to-week basis. Callahan also suggested that he still believes in Levis long term and doesn't think he's done as an NFL starting quarterback, per Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com. In any case, Levis will be the team's No. 2 QB this Sunday against Indianapolis.
Dec 17, 2024
Expected to lose starting gig
Levis is expected to move into a backup role for Sunday's game at Indianapolis, with Mason Rudolph likely in line to replace him as the Titans' starting quarterback, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Fowler's report, the Titans will make a change at quarterback for Week 16, so unless the team elects to award the start to practice-squad member Trevor Siemian, Rudolph represents the logical candidate to replace Levis. The second-year signal-caller will head to the bench after he endured another tough outing in this past Sunday's 37-27 loss to the Bengals, when he completed eight of 12 pass attempts for 89 yards and three interceptions while also losing a fumble before being pulled midway through the third quarter in favor of Rudolph. Through 11 starts this season, Levis has completed 63.7 percent of his passes for 6.3 yards per attempt and 12 touchdowns, but turnovers have been a major issue. He's lost five fumbles and has thrown 12 interceptions, including an NFL-high four pick-sixes. Levis' lack of development will likely prompt the Titans to pursue an upgrade at quarterback through the draft or free agency this offseason.
Dec 16, 2024
Quarterback position under review
Titans head coach Brian Callahan said the team will spend the next two days evaluating whether Levis, who was benched in Week 15, or Mason Rudolph will start Sunday's road matchup against the Colts, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis was benched during Tennessee's 37-27 loss to the Bengals in Week 15 after accounting for four turnovers (three interceptions and one lost fumble). He otherwise completed eight of 12 passes for 89 yards and zero touchdown. Rudolph looked more competent, if unremarkable, in relief of Levis, completing 21 of 26 passes for 209 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, while also rushing twice for 14 yards. In order to properly divvy up first-team reps, the Titans may make an official decision at the quarterback position for Week 16 prior to Wednesday's practice.
Dec 16, 2024
Benched after four turnovers
Levis completed eight of 12 passes for 89 yards, zero touchdowns and three interceptions in Sunday's 37-27 loss to the Bengals. He also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Levis had shown an improved ability to take care of the ball since returning from a shoulder injury in Week 10, having thrown only two picks and losing one fumble in five games. Things unraveled for him quickly in Sunday's loss, however, as he lost a fumble to begin the second quarter and then threw an interception on back-to-back possessions. After throwing a pick-six on Tennessee's second drive of the second half, he was ultimately benched in favor of Mason Rudolph. Levis' status is uncertain for the rest of the season after his most recent benching.
Dec 11, 2024
Logs full practice
Levis (shoulder) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis missed three games earlier this season with an AC joint sprain and then aggravated his throwing shoulder during Sunday's 10-6 loss to the Jaguars. He was able to finish out the game and now is practicing without limitations, setting him up for another start this Sunday against the Bengals.
Dec 8, 2024
Shoulder becomes concern again
Levis completed 19 of 32 passes for 168 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 10-6 loss to the Jaguars. He added one rush for three yards.
ANALYSIS
Levis drew one of the best matchups in the league against a struggling Jaguars defense, but he managed to do little with the opportunity. Tennessee didn't find the end zone on the day, while Levis averaged only 5.3 yards per attempt. Most concerning was that he aggravated the AC joint sprain that cost him three games earlier in the season on a hard hit on the final play of the first half, per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com. That likely affected his performance in the final two quarters of the loss and casts doubt on his status moving forward.
Dec 2, 2024
Two scores in blowout loss
Levis completed 18 of 37 passes for 212 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 42-19 loss to the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
Levis' final line looks mediocre, though he failed to get the Tennessee offense moving until the Commanders held a 28-0 lead. Nevertheless, he did throw for multiple touchdowns -- both of which went to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (24 and 17 yards) -- for the third time in the last four games. Most importantly for Levis, he once again limited mistakes by not turning the ball over and taking only two sacks. Though there are still inconsistencies, he's shown a decent amount of improvement from the start of the campaign.
Nov 24, 2024
Gets deep ball going
Levis completed 18 of 24 pass attempts for 278 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 32-27 win over the Texans. He added eight rushes for 10 yards and also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
As usual, Levis had plenty of both positives and negatives during the Titans' upset win. He led the team to points in each of the first three drives, highlighted by a 38-yard touchdown pass to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and a 63-yard connection with Calvin Ridley to set up a Tony Pollard score. Levis later chipped in his second touchdown with a 70-yard toss to Chigoziem Okonkwo, though the majority of that gain came after the catch. While those were all significant bright spots, Levis also turned the ball over twice, including a pick-six late in the third quarter, while also taking eight sacks. Despite the ongoing inconsistency, he's combined to throw for 573 yards with eight completions of at least 20 yards across his last two games.
Nov 17, 2024
Mixed results Sunday
Levis completed 17 of 31 pass attempts for 295 yards, one touchdown and one interception while rushing seven times for 18 yards in Sunday's 23-13 loss to Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Levis didn't have his best game in terms of completion rate (55 percent), setting a new low for the 2024 season against Minnesota. The Kentucky product did manage to bolster fantasy managers' scores with a 98-yard touchdown pass on third down in the second half. Levis' inconsistent play limits his value to deeper leagues heading into next week's road tilt against the Texans.
Nov 10, 2024
Two touchdowns in return
Levis completed 18 of 23 passes for 175 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Chargers. He added five rushes for 41 yards.
ANALYSIS
Levis returned from a three-game absence caused by a shoulder injury and turned in his first appearance of the campaign without a turnover. He padded his stats with a touchdown drive in garbage time that concluded with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Calvin Ridley, though he also found Ridley for a 41-yard score on the Titans' first offensive possession. Levis isn't likely to become useful in most fantasy formats, but he did show a level of competence that was missing earlier in the campaign.
Nov 8, 2024
Set to start Sunday
Head Brian Callahan announced Friday that Levis (right shoulder) will start Sunday's game against the Chargers, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis, who has missed three straight contests, returned to a full practice Thursday, paving the way for him to see his first game action since Week 6. As a result, Mason Rudolph -- who had started in place of Levis -- will revert to backup duties Sunday. In his return to the Titans' lineup, Levis offers a Week 10 option for those in deeper fantasy leagues or who are otherwise seeking help this weekend due to injury or bye week issues.
Nov 7, 2024
Turns in full practice
Levis (shoulder) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis had previously been listed as a non-participant or limited participant in each of the Titans' last eight practices, but his ability to log full reps Thursday likely signals that the young quarterback has moved past the sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder that has been plaguing him since Week 4. Titans offensive coordinator Nick Holz seemed to confirm as much before Thursday's session got underway, telling Turron Davenport of ESPN.com that Levis had looked good throwing the football during his recent workouts Sunday and Wednesday. Titans head coach Brian Callahan has previously said that Levis will reclaim starting duties once healthy, so assuming the 25-year-old makes it out of Friday's practice no worse for the wear, he should be cleared to direct the Tennessee offense Sunday versus the Chargers.
Nov 6, 2024
Limited to start the week
Levis (shoulder) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis was a limited participant all last week and ended up missing a third straight game when the Titans won in overtime against the Patriots. Coach Brian Callahan said Wednesday that the plan was for Levis to get more reps this week and possible return for Sunday's game against the Chargers, although Mason Rudolph will continue to get at least a portion of the first-team work in practice. "His reps should uptick," Callahan said of Levis. "We're trying to get him back rolling, and hopeful that's sooner rather than later here. Mason (Rudolph) still needs to be ready to play, and he'll still take some reps, but we'd like to increase Will's workload this week certainly."
Nov 4, 2024
Could return for Week 10
Titans head coach Brian Callahan said that Levis (shoulder) will increase his workload in practice this week with the hope that he's ready to play Sunday against the Chargers, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis has missed the Titans' last three games while recovering from an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder, an injury he first sustained in Week 4 and then played through during a Week 6 loss to the Colts. The second-year quarterback had been a limited participant in practice throughout last week, so he'll presumably need to upgrade to full participation at least once during Week 10 before getting the green light to return to action. Callahan has previously said that Levis, once healthy, will reclaim the starting role from Mason Rudolph, who has guided Tennessee to a 1-2 record while completing 60.4 percent of his passes for 6.5 yards per attempt and a 4:4 TD:INT over the past three games.
Nov 3, 2024
Sitting for third straight
Levis (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis will be inactive for the third straight game while recovering from an AC joint sprain. Positively, he was able to practice in limited fashion all week and was spotted warming up prior to Sunday's game against New England. That suggests Levis may be in line for a Week 10 return against the Chargers. As for Week 9, Mason Rudolph will draw his third consecutive start.
Nov 2, 2024
Expected to miss another game
Levis (shoulder), who is officially questionable, is likely to sit out Sunday's Week 9 battle against the Patriots, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Levis managed to log a trio of limited practices this week, it appears he'll sit out a third straight game while recovering from an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder. Titans offensive coordinator Nick Holz confirmed earlier this week that Levis will be the team's starter once he's ready to take the field again, and that could happen as soon as next Sunday versus the Chargers. With Levis expected to miss Week 9, Mason Rudolph is in line to make another start, while Trevor Siemian was elevated from the practice squad Saturday to serve as Rudolph's backup.
Nov 1, 2024
Questionable for Week 9
Coach Brian Callahan said Friday that Levis (shoulder) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Titans insider Paul Kuharsky reports.
ANALYSIS
Callahan added that while the decision is ultimately in his hands, he will rely on Levis' input regarding the health of the second-year quarterback's shoulder before deciding on a starter for Sunday's game against the Patriots. If Levis misses a third consecutive game, Mason Rudolph would continue to start for Tennessee.
Oct 31, 2024
Throws for second straight day
Levis (shoulder) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Though Levis didn't take a step forward in terms of his listed practice activity after he was a limited participant in Wednesday's session, he threw passes for the second day in a row and seems to be making good progress in his recovery from an AC joint sprain in his shoulder. He originally sustained the injury in a Week 4 win over the Dolphins and was cleared to start in the Titans' Week 6 loss to the Colts coming out of a bye week, but since the shoulder issue was still affecting his mechanics and arm strength in that contest, Levis has proceeded to sit out the team's last two games. According to Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site, offensive coordinator Nick Holz said Thursday that he's not discounting the possibility of Levis being ready to play this Sunday against the Patriots, though the Titans have game plans in place for both Levis and Mason Rudolph, who has started the past two contests. Once the Titans are convinced that Levis is fully healthy, Holz confirmed that the starting job will belong to
Oct 30, 2024
Limited in practice again
Levis (shoulder) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Levis was limited all last week before being listed as questionable and then declared inactive for an eventual 52-14 loss to the Titans. Coach Brian Callahan said Wednesday that he wants to see how Levis' right shoulder feels after throwing on consecutive days, per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com, which makes it sound like the Titans won't have a good idea about the QB's Week 9 availability until later in the week. Mason Rudolph will make his third consecutive start if Levis misses another game this Sunday against the Patriots.
Oct 27, 2024
Second straight absence
Levis (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Levis logged limited practice sessions all week and was officially listed as questionable entering Sunday's game. However, the Titans tipped their hand when they elevated Trevor Siemian to the active roster from the practice squad Saturday, and Levis is now set to miss his second straight game. Mason Rudolph will draw another start for the Titans and will face a Lions secondary that has been vulnerable at times this season.
Oct 25, 2024
Listed as questionable for Week 8
Levis (right shoulder), who was limited at practice this week, is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Levis hasn't been ruled out for the contest as he recovers from his right shoulder injury, coach Brian Callahan indicated earlier in the week that the Titans anticipated Mason Rudolph being the team's starter Sunday. Look for added context regarding Tennessee's QB situation to arrive ahead of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff, but at this stage Levis isn't a high-percentage Week 8 fantasy lineup option.
Oct 24, 2024
Still limited, but improving
Levis (shoulder) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
According to Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site, Levis said after Thursday's session that the pain and range of motion in his shoulder have improved since he suffered an AC joint sprain back in Week 4. After a timely Week 5 bye, Levis started the Titans' Week 6 loss to the Colts, but with the shoulder issue hampering his mechanics and arm strength in that game, head coach Brian Callahan elected to hold the second-year signal-caller out of the team's Week 7 loss to the Bills. Mason Rudolph started that contest and looks to be trending toward another start this Sunday in Detroit, but Levis' improving condition could put him in consideration to serve as Rudolph's backup. If the Titans elect to make Levis inactive for a second straight game, however, Trevor Siemian would likely be elevated from the practice squad once again to handle backup duties.
Oct 23, 2024
Limited, trending toward not starting
Levis (right shoulder) was limited at practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis was inactive for this past Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Bills, and at this stage the QB is trending toward giving way to Mason Rudolph once again this weekend on the road versus the Lions. With that in mind, coach Brian Callahan said Wednesday that the Titans will "probably give (Levis) one more week," while adding that while nothing is official in that regard, the team is leaning toward giving Rudolph another start in order to afford Levis another week without exposing his shoulder to in-game contact.
Oct 23, 2024
Viewed as 'longshot' to play Week 8
Levis (shoulder) is considered a "longshot" to play in Sunday's game against the Lions, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Following Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Bills, Titans head coach Brian Callahan had labeled Levis as week-to-week, so the second-year quarterback's expected absence for the Week 8 game doesn't come as much of a surprise. After initially suffering an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder during the Titans' Week 4 win over the Dolphins, Levis was cleared to start coming out of Week 5 bye, but he completed just 16 of 27 pass attempts for 95 yards, one touchdown and one interception in a Week 6 loss to the Colts. The poor outing has seemingly prompted the Titans to take a more deliberate approach with Levis' recovery from the injury, so he'll be poised to get a second straight game off while Mason Rudolph presumably makes another start. Levis could still carry a designation into Sunday if he's able to continue practicing in some fashion Wednesday through Friday, but it's unclear if the Titans would be comfortable using him as a backup to Rudolph if he's less than 100 percent.
Oct 21, 2024
Labeled week-to-week
Titans head coach Brian Callahan said after Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Bills that Levis (shoulder) is week-to-week, Nick Suss of the Nashville Tennessean reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis wasn't ruled out for Week 7 until one day prior to Tennessee's matchup against Buffalo, when continued testing of his right AC joint sprain brought back discouraging results. The shoulder injury was initially sustained by Levis in Week 4, and he got a bye week to rest before suiting up in Week 6 versus Indianapolis. Callahan said of Levis' worsening sprain that "he ended up feeling it toward the end of the [Colts] game on a couple of those throws," and that for Week 7 "his mechanics were not where they needed to be and his arm strength felt weakened." If Levis' shoulder doesn't improve as the Titans' road matchup against Detroit in Week 8 draws near, Mason Rudolph would be in line to draw another start.
Oct 20, 2024
Inactive as expected
Levis (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Reports emerged Saturday that Levis was expected to miss the Titans' Week 7 contest due to an AC joint sprain. With his status now official, Mason Rudolph will take over under center for Tennessee. Levis' status will also be worth monitoring beyond Week 7, as Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that his injury can typically cause an absence of 4-to-5 weeks.
Oct 19, 2024
Not slated to start Sunday
Levis (shoulder) is not in line to start Sunday's game against the Bills, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network and Turron Davenport of ESPN report.
ANALYSIS
The Titans officially list Levis as questionable for the contest, but with Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and Adam Schefter of ESPN reporting that the QB is dealing with a Grade 2 AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder, it's possible that Levis could miss time beyond Sunday. Official confirmation of his Week 7 status may not arrive until the Titans' inactives are posted ahead of the team's 1:00 ET kickoff against Buffalo, but in Levis' anticipated absence, Mason Rudolph is on track to start in his place, backed up by practice squad elevation Trevor Siemian.
Oct 19, 2024
Not trending toward playing
Levis (shoulder) is expected to be inactive for Sunday's contest against the Bills, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The Titans haven't officially downgraded Levis' injury status, but that figures to come before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. It's a bit of a curious decision given Levis played last week through the shoulder injury, but his ineffectiveness (16 of 27 for 95 passing yards) has been a significant drag on Tennessee's offense. Mason Rudolph will step in as the team's starter with Trevor Siemian slated to back him up.
Oct 18, 2024
Questionable after limited practice
Levis (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills after being a limited participant in practice Friday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis sandwiched a full practice Thursday between limited sessions Wednesday and Friday, so he seems more likely than not to suit up. He injured his shoulder in Tennessee's Week 4 win over the Dolphins prior to a Week 5 bye, then played the entire Week 6 loss to the Colts but threw for only 95 yards. If Levis is declared inactive prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff in Buffalo, Mason Rudolph would get the nod under center.
Oct 17, 2024
Good to go
Levis (shoulder) was a full practice participant Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis injured his right shoulder right before a Week 5 bye and was back under center for a 20-17 loss to the Colts last week. He'll start again this Sunday at Buffalo, but it's hard to ignore that Tennessee's only win of the year came Week 4 when Mason Rudolph replaced an injured Levis early in the game. Another bad week or two from Levis could put Rudolph in the starting role.
Oct 16, 2024
Limited participant
Levis (shoulder) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis played in Sunday's 20-17 loss to Indianapolis but is still managing the injury to his throwing shoulder that he suffered before a Week 5 bye. He'll likely be ready to play this Sunday at Buffalo.
Oct 13, 2024
Another poor showing Sunday
Levis completed 16 of 27 passes for 95 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Titans' 20-17 loss to the Colts on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Levis failed to reach 100 passing yards for the first time in a full game this season, but his tally was his third of under 200 yards overall. The second-year signal-caller alarmingly failed to connect with top wideout Calvin Ridley on any of the eight times he targeted him, and he also extended his dubious season-opening streak of throwing at least one interception to five games. Given Levis' body of work to date and Tennessee's 1-4 record, a switch to veteran backup Mason Rudolph ahead of a tough Week 7 road matchup against the Bills wouldn't be surprising.
Oct 11, 2024
Confirmed Week 6 starter
Coach Brian Callahan confirmed Friday that Levis will start Sunday's game against the Colts, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis exited the Week 4 win over Miami after injuring his shoulder in the first quarter, but a Week 5 bye gave him ample time to heal and he practiced without limitations leading up to Sunday's game against the Colts. Indianapolis has struggled defensively, but Levis could be on a short leash after having committed nine turnovers already this season. Mason Rudolph will return to a backup role with Levis healthy.
Oct 9, 2024
Full practice participant
Levis (shoulder) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Ben Arthur of FoxSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A Week 5 bye apparently gave Levis plenty of time to recover from the right shoulder injury he suffered in a Week 4 win at Miami. He should be back under center this Sunday against the Colts, facing a defense that's been arguably the worst in the NFL through the first month-plus of the season. Levis, of course, has been one of the worst starting quarterbacks, and he may even be a few bad outings away from getting replaced by Mason Rudolph.
Oct 7, 2024
Improving, won't practice Monday
Titans head coach Brian Callahan said Monday that Levis (shoulder) is "improving" but is not slated to participate in Monday's unofficial practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis is tending to a right AC joint sprain sustained during Tennessee's win over the Dolphins in Week 4. He's had the benefit of a bye week to rest up, and Callahan said the starting quarterback is expected to get back on the practice field this week, but Levis' availability for Sunday's upcoming divisional matchup against the Colts remains undetermined at this point. Wednesday's first official injury report of Week 6 will reveal whether Levis is able to practice in at least a limited capacity. The Titans will turn to Mason Rudolph under center in the event that Levis isn't cleared to face Indianapolis.
Oct 3, 2024
AC sprain, per report
Levis is reportedly dealing with an AC sprain of his throwing shoulder, according to Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com.
ANALYSIS
Levis was forced out of this past Monday's 31-12 win over the Dolhphins in the first quarter and replaced by Mason Rudolph. The Titans are currently on bye, with Kuharsky suggesting that Levis should be available for the team's Oct. 13 contest against the Colts. As long as Levis is healthy enough to be available for Week 6 action, coach Brian Callahan has already confirmed that he'll be the starter versus Indianapolis, Turron Davenport of ESPN reports.
Oct 1, 2024
Still entrenched as starter
Titans head coach Brian Callahan said Tuesday that Levis (shoulder) will remain Tennessee's starting quarterback after the team's Week 5 bye, as long as he's healthy, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Callahan said "there's no controversy, no second guessing" regarding Levis' standing as QB1, despite Mason Rudolph competently piloting the Titans' offense to a 31-12 win over the Dolphins on Monday after entering the game in the first quarter. Levis departed early due to a shoulder injury and is slated for an MRI, and though an official update on his health hasn't yet been provided, Callahan said the quarterback is currently only sore, per Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site, and that difficult throwing on the sideline Monday informed the team's decision not to have him re-enter the game. Levis will benefit from an extra week of rest before a decision on his availability against the Bills in Week 6, on Oct. 13, has to be made.
Sep 30, 2024
Slated for MRI
Levis (shoulder) is expected to undergo an MRI after being unable to return Monday's game against the Dolphins, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.
ANALYSIS
When healthy, Levis is expected to remain Tennessee's starter under center according to head coach Brian Callahan. He went down early in Monday's contest and was subsequently replaced by Mason Rudolph, who led the team to a 31-12 victory. More clarity on Levis' shoulder status will come following the results of his MRI.
Sep 30, 2024
Departs with shoulder injury
Levis exited Monday's game at Miami due to a right shoulder injury and is questionable to return, John Glennon of NashvillePost.com reports.
ANALYSIS
On the Titans' second possession of Week 4, Levis scrambled for three yards and then was seen having his right shoulder looked at on the sideline. He made some throws before backup Mason Rudolph took over for Levis on the team's next drive, and Levis visited the medical tent before he was seen on the bench with a team trainer.

More mistakes in loss
Levis completed 26 of 34 passes for 260 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 30-14 loss to the Packers. He also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Levis put together by far his most competent performance of the season from an efficiency perspective by averaging 7.4 yards per attempt. He completed four passes of at least 20 yards -- all to different receivers -- half of which came before the game was decided, and he also recorded multiple touchdowns for the first time in the campaign. On the other hand, mistakes continue to plague him, as he turned the ball over three total times, highlighted by a pick-six. Despite now having eight turnovers in three games, coach Brian Callahan committed to Levis as the starting quarterback moving forward, per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com.
Sep 15, 2024
Pedestrian passing in loss
Levis completed 19 of 28 passes for 192 yards with a touchdown and an interception while adding four carries for 38 yards in the Titans' 24-17 loss to the Jets on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Levis was frequently under pressure while taking four sacks and and additional pair of official QB hits, and he had trouble consistently connecting with any receiver not named Calvin Ridley. Levis hit Ridley for a game-long 40-yard pass that also served as his only touchdown toss of the afternoon, but other than that game-tying play, the second-year signal-caller struggled with getting the ball downfield. Levis' contributions as a rusher were a welcome complement to his fantasy production, yet his pair of turnovers, which came on back-to-back possessions on the second quarter, both occurred deep in New York territory. Levis will aim to atone for a lackluster first two games in Brian Callahan's offense when Tennessee and the Packers face off in Week 3.

Throws backbreaking pick
Levis completed 19 of 32 passes for 127 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Bears. He added four rushes for 36 yards.
ANALYSIS
The Titans started quickly, limiting what Levis was asked to do in the first half as he attempted only 15 passes. He did manage his lone touchdown of the day late in the second quarter, a 17-yard connection with Chigoziem Okonkwo. The Bears made a run in the second half, which in turn forced Levis to the air more often and led to mistakes. The worst came midway through the fourth quarter when Levis attempted to escape pressure and desperately flung the ball toward the sidelines and into the waiting arms of Tyrique Stevenson for what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown. It wasn't the start to the season that Levis was looking for, as he averaged only 4.0 yards per attempt and completed just two passes for more than 20 yards.
Aug 25, 2024
Sharp in two-drive tune-up
Levis completed seven of eight passes for 118 yards in Sunday's 30-27 preseason win over the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Levis hit on his first seven passes before overthrowing Calvin Ridley in the end zone on the second drive, leading to a field goal after Tony Pollard capped the first possession with a one-yard rushing touchdown. The pair of successful possessions came against the Saints' defensive backups, but it was still an encouraging dress rehearsal for Levis and the first-team offense heading into the Sept. 8 regular-season opener against the Bears.

Expected to start preseason finale
Titans coach Brian Callahan said Sunday that he's currently planning for the team's starters, which should include Levis, to play in the preseason finale versus New Orleans on Sunday, Aug. 25, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Callahan added that he'd "like to see our starting offense play somewhere in the 3-ish series" against the Saints, per Wyatt. Levis played the first two drives of Tennessee's preseason opener and he was then held out, along with a group of the team's key starters, in Saturday's exhibition against Seattle.
Aug 15, 2024
Not slated to play Saturday
The Titans' key starters -- a group that includes Levis -- are not in line to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Seahawks, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Wyatt, Malik Willis will get the start at QB versus Seattle, while Levis, who logged 14 snaps in Tennessee's preseason opener, is slated to be held out. It remains to be seen if Levis will take the field in the team's exhibition finale Aug 25 against the Saints, but if not, his next game action won't occur until his looming Week 1 start against the Bears.
Aug 10, 2024
Starts and scores Saturday
Levis completed four of five pass attempts for 35 yards while making two rushing attempts for three yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason win over San Francisco.
ANALYSIS
Levis started the game's first two drives along with the rest of Tennessee's first unit as the offense looks to build a new identity under head coach Brian Callahan. The big-framed quarterback scored a rushing touchdown from in close, something we may see more often now that power back Derrick Henry is in Baltimore. With a revamped coaching staff and receiving corps, 2024 is poised to be a pivotal year for Levis' development both as the Titans' franchise quarterback and as a rising fantasy asset.
Aug 8, 2024
On track to play Saturday
Levis and the Titans' other healthy starters are slated to see action in Saturday's preseason opener against the 49ers, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.
ANALYSIS
McCormick relays that starters who play Saturday figure to work a series or two before given way to the Titans' reserves. Once Levis exits the contest, Mason Rudolph and Malik Willis will be available to handle the team's QB reps.

Moves past foot issue
Levis (foot) participated in 7-on-7 drills during Tuesday's OTA session.
ANALYSIS
Back in February, Levis -- who was slowed by a foot injury late last season -- relayed that he was close to 100 percent at that time. At this stage, the second-year QB appears to have put the issue behind him, and on Tuesday Levis got in some work with the Titans' top wideouts, a group that includes free-agent additions Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd, along with returnees DeAndre Hopkins and Treylon Burks. With veteran RyanTannehill no longer in the mix, Levis approaches the coming season as the team's clear-cut top QB, backed up by Mason Rudolph and Malik Willis. During his rookie season, the Kentucky product completed 149-of-255 passing attempts for 1,808 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions in nine starts.

Gets new No. 1 WR as Henry departs
Levis (foot) will enter the 2024 NFL season with new skill-position talent, headlined by Calvin Ridley being slated to join the Titans on a four-year, $92 million contract, and by Derrick Henry being replaced by Tony Pollard in the backfield, Turron Davenport of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Tennessee adding a hopeful true No. 1 wideout in Ridley is arguably just as impactful as Henry's tenure as the franchise face finally coming to an end. Ridley joins veteran DeAndre Hopkins, giving Levis two proven pass-catchers who both surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in 2023, allowing Treylon Burks to slide down to the No. 3 role and benefit from lesser defensive coverage. On paper, Levis now looks set to benefit from one of the best three-receiver groups in the league, while the recently re-signed Nick Westbrook-Ikhine is a capable fourth man. Pollard, meanwhile, isn't nearly the between-the-tackles bruiser that Henry was, but he brings true three-down versatility and a skillset that's more interchangeable with second-year pro Tyjae Spears, allowing the Titans to swap both backs out freely without hinting at any specific playcall. Levis said in February at Super Bowl LVIII that he was already "close" to healthy, per Jim Wyatt of the team's official site.

Gets offensive-minded head coach
Levis (foot) will work with new Titans head coach Brian Callahan in 2024, ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis seemingly did enough as a rookie to enter Year 2 as a starter, though it's still up in the air if he's a franchise QB or more of a low-end starter/high-end backup. The Titans likely want to build their offense around the 2023 second-round pick, following a half-decade of run-first attacks centered on impending free agent Derrick Henry. That's not to say Henry is automatically done in Tennessee, though the fit would be questionable under a coach whose five seasons as offensive coordinator in Cincinnati (2019-23) saw the Bengals rank no higher than 17th in rush attempts and 23rd in rushing yards. Levis is no Joe Burrow, of course, but the addition of a passing-game-focused head coach at least suggests the Titans want to figure out what they have in the young QB rather than trying to hide him and rely on other parts of the roster. It remains to be seen if the team's ensuing offseason moves continue in that direction, with rumors already swirling that Callahan could try to bring WR Tee Higgins over from Cin

Sidelined by foot injury
Levis (foot) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
It was announced earlier in the week that Levis would not be available to start, with veteran Ryan Tannehill instead getting the nod. Malik Willis will serve as the backup, meaning barring injuries to both quarterbacks, Levis will end his rookie season with and 8:4 TD:INT while averaging 7.1 yards per attempt across nine contests. His future role with the team remains uncertain, though there's a strong chance he'll be in the mix to be Tennessee's starter in 2024.
Jan 5, 2024
Listed as questionable, won't start
Levis (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars after being limited in practice Thursday and Friday.
ANALYSIS
Per Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site, coach Mike Vrabel announced after Friday's practice that Ryan Tannehill will draw the start in the team's season finale this weekend, while Levis is on track to be Tennessee's third quarterback in Week 18. With that in mind, Malik Willis is slated to be Tannehill's top backup Sunday.
Jan 5, 2024
Won't start Sunday
Levis (foot) won't start Sunday season finale against the Jaguars, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
In his place, Ryan Tannehill will draw the start, while Levis, who is dealing with a foot injury, is slated to be the Titans' No. 3 QB in Week 18. Levis thus finishes his rookie campaign with 1,808 passing yards to go along with eight TDs and four interceptions in nine appearances. The 2023 second-rounder also added 25 carries for 57 yards and a rushing score in that span.
Jan 4, 2024
Limited in return to practice
Levis (foot) was a limited practice participant Thursday.
ANALYSIS
After missing Tennessee's Week 16 loss to Seattle with a left ankle sprain, Levis returned to the lineup for the Titans' 26-3 loss to the Texans this past Sunday, only to exit early due to a right foot injury. The foot injury seems to be less of a concern than the previous ankle issue, but Levis may still need to show improvement in Friday's practice before the Titans feel confident in having him start Sunday's season finale versus the Jaguars. If the rookie is unable to play Sunday or is available only in a backup capacity, veteran Ryan Tannehill would draw a second straight start.
Jan 4, 2024
Back at practice
Levis (foot) was present for practice Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis didn't practice Wednesday, but the QB's return to the field a day later signals progress on his part as Sunday's season finale against the Jaguars approaches. The Titans' upcoming practice report is slated to clarify Levis' official participation level in his return to practice Thursday.
Jan 3, 2024
Doesn't practice Wednesday
Levis (foot) didn't practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Wyatt, Levis indicated Wednesday that while he's dealing with some pain from pushing off his right foot, the QB hopes to be able to play in Sunday's season finale against the Jaguars. If, however, the rookie signal caller is unable to progress to the point that the Titans feel comfortable playing him this weekend, Ryan Tannehill would be in line to draw the Week 18 start for the team.
Jan 3, 2024
Not expected to practice Wednesday
Levis (foot) isn't expected to participate in practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis' status for Sunday's season finale against the Jaguars remains cloudy and with the Titans eliminated from playoff contention, the team is unlikely to push the rookie QB to play in Week 18 at less than 100 percent. If Levis is deemed unavailable this weekend, Ryan Tannehill would be in line to draw the start at QB against Jacksonville.
Jan 2, 2024
Practice status TBD
Coach Mike Vrabel was non-committal about Levis (foot) taking part in Wednesday's practice, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Titans plan to evaluate Levis this week after he made an early departure from this past Sunday's loss to the Texans, with Vrabel adding that the rookie quarterback has improved since then, per Jim Wyatt of the team's official site. Levis' ability to play Sunday against the Jaguars likely will be contingent on him logging some on-field work before week's end, but if he's unable to suit up, Vrabel plans to roll with Ryan Tannehill under center, according to John Glennon of NashvillePost.com.
Dec 31, 2023
Ruled out for rest of Week 17 game
Levis (foot) has been ruled out for the second half of Sunday's game against the Texans, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. He completed two of six pass attempts for 16 yards and lost a fumble prior to departing the game.
ANALYSIS
Levis made his return to the lineup after missing the Titans' Week 16 loss to the Seahawks with a right ankle sprain, only to get carted to the locker room in the second quarter when the same leg got stepped on. The Titans could provide an updated diagnosis on Levis' foot issue after the game or sometime Monday, but given the recurring nature of the injury along with the fact that Tennessee is eliminated from playoff contention, the rookie quarterback could face an uphill battle to make it back for the Titans' Jan. 7 regular-season finale versus the Jaguars. Ryan Tannehill took over at quarterback following Levis' exit and will direct the offense for the remainder of the game.
Dec 31, 2023
Hurts foot Sunday
Levis left Sunday's game against the Texans due to a foot injury, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Prior to being carted off the field Sunday, Levis had completed two of his six passes for 16 yards. In his absence, Ryan Tannehill is in at quarterback for the Titans.
Dec 29, 2023
Slated to resume starting duties
Coach Mike Vrabel said Friday that Levis (ankle) is "in line to start" Sunday at Houston, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis was sidelined this past Sunday against the Seahawks due to a sprained right ankle that contained him to one limited session during Week 16 prep. As the Titans reconvened this week, he opened it with a full practice Wednesday and maintained that activity level thereafter, clearing him to resume his standing as Tennessee's starting quarterback. Levis thus will push veteran QB Ryan Tannehill to the No. 2 job and face a Texans defense that contained him to 199 yards, no touchdowns and one interception on 17-for-26 passing and four carries for 25 yards and a touchdown in his last appearance in Week 15.
Dec 27, 2023
Full participant in practice
Levis (ankle) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site notes that Levis "looked pretty good" while practicing without any limitations, though the rookie acknowledged Wednesday that he's still dealing with some pain, per Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com. It's thus possible he'll be less mobile than usual, but Levis at least is set to return to the starting role this Sunday at Houston after missing just one game.
Dec 26, 2023
Likely to practice Wednesday
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said that he thinks Levis (ankle) will try to practice Wednesday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Vrabel added that Levis is feeling better after sitting out Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Seahawks with a right ankle sprain, but it's not yet clear if the quarterback's improvement will translate to any meaningful change in practice activity when the Titans release their first Week 17 injury report. Levis closed Week 16 prep as a limited practice participant and had been listed as questionable before being ruled out in advance of the matchup with Seattle. Even if it doesn't happen Wednesday, if Levis can upgrade to full practice participation by Friday, he should be in good position to reclaim starting duties from Ryan Tannehill for Sunday's game in Houston.
Dec 24, 2023
Won't suit up Sunday
Levis (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Levis had been listed as questionable heading into Sunday, but he'll ultimately need a little more time to heal up from the right ankle sprain he suffered late in last week's 19-16 overtime loss to the Texans. The rookie signal-caller was at least able to take a tangible step forward in his recovery by practicing on a limited basis Friday, so if he's able to upgrade to full participation in practice at some point during the upcoming week, he'll have a good chance at gaining clearance to start the Titans' Dec. 31 rematch with Houston. With Levis sidelined against Seattle, however, veteran Ryan Tannehill will direct the offense for the first time since Week 6.
Dec 23, 2023
Not in line to start Sunday
Levis (ankle) isn't expected to start Sunday's contest versus the Seahawks, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis sprained his right ankle in the waning moments of last Sunday's 19-16 overtime loss to the Texans, which kept him out of drills until Friday, when he logged a limited practice. The Titans subsequently listed him as questionable for Week 16, and while there's a chance Levis is active Sunday, the team seems poised to give veteran Ryan Tannehill a spot start under center. Overall, the QB situation in Tennessee should be clarified about 90 minutes before a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 22, 2023
Questionable after limited practice
Levis (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks after practicing in limited fashion Friday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis got back on the practice field Friday for the first time since spraining his ankle in last week's 19-16 overtime loss to the Texans. The rookie quarterback is progressing in his recovery, but it remains to be seen if he'll be healthy enough to play come Sunday. Coach Mike Vrabel said earlier in the week that Ryan Tannehill would start against the Seahawks should Levis sit. If Levis is able to play, it would be a boon to wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who has six touchdown catches in Levis' eight starts and none in six games started by Tannehill.
Dec 22, 2023
Questionable for Sunday
Coach Mike Vrabel noted Friday that Levis (ankle) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wyatt previously relayed that Levis was on the field for the stretching portion of Friday's practice, though it remains to be seen how the Titans will officially list the QB's participation level. However, given the team's intention to list Levis as questionable, there's a chance he'll be cleared to suit up for Sunday's 1:00 ET contest.
Dec 22, 2023
On the field Friday
Levis (ankle) was on the field for the stretching portion of Friday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
It remains to be seen how the Titans list Levis' participation level, but after having missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, the QB's presence on the field Friday offers hope that he could potentially be available for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. Added context on that front will arrive once Tennessee's final injury report of the week is posted later Friday.
Dec 21, 2023
Misses another practice
Levis (ankle) didn't practice Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
With Levis, who also didn't practice Wednesday, sidelined for the second straight day, veteran QB Ryan Tannehill once again saw extensive work with the Titans offense Thursday. Levis now has one more chance to practice ahead of Sunday's contest against the Seahawks, but if he's unavailable this weekend, Ryan Tannehill would serve as the Titans' starting signal-caller in Week 16.
Dec 20, 2023
Not practicing Wednesday
Levis (ankle) won't practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis suffered a right ankle sprain during this past Sunday's 19-16 overtime loss to the Texans, and as a result his status for this weekend's contest against the Seahawks is uncertain. If Levis is deemed unavailable versus Seattle, Coach Mike Vrabel confirmed Wednesday that Ryan Tannehill would step in as the Titans' Week 16 starting signal caller.
Dec 18, 2023
Coach confirms ankle sprain
Coach Mike Vrabel said Monday that Levis (ankle) is dealing with a sprained ankle and compared the injury to the pair of ankle sprains Ryan Tannehill suffered last season, John Glennon of the Nashville Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis was injured on Tennessee's final offensive snap in Sunday's 19-16 overtime loss to the Texans. Tannehill missed two games after spraining his ankle in Week 7 of the 2022 season and missed the remainder of the 2022 campaign due to his Week 15 sprain. If Levis' ankle sprain is of comparable severity, he'd be unlikely to suit up in Week 16 against the Seahawks, ironically opening the door for Tannehill to reclaim the starting quarterback role. Levis' participation level in practice Wednesday through Friday should help clarify his potential availability against the Seahawks on Sunday.
Dec 18, 2023
Believed to have sprained ankle
Levis (ankle) is believed to have suffered a right ankle sprain during Sunday's 19-16 overtime loss to the Texans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis will receive an MRI on Monday to confirm the severity of his injury, but he said after Sunday's divisional loss: "I'm all right. It could have been a lot worse." He was able to leave the field under his own power Sunday, but word on Levis' chances of suiting up Week 16 versus the Seahawks likely won't come until the results of his MRI are revealed. Ryan Tannehill and Malik Willis are both healthy options on the depth chart, in the event that Levis needs to miss any time while he recovers.
Dec 17, 2023
Suffers late injury
Levis completed 17 of 26 passes for 199 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 19-16 loss to the Texans. He also suffered a right leg injury.
ANALYSIS
Levis had a performance defined by mistakes, as he had a pass intercepted in his own territory to begin the third quarter that led directly to three points for the Texans. He was also sacked seven times, and on the final of those, he appeared to suffer a significant injury. Fortunately, he walked off under his own power and told reporters after the game that he believes he avoided a significant issue, per Joe Rexrode of The Athletic. His practice status will be worth monitoring heading heading into a Week 16 matchup against Seattle, as he'll look to bounceback from this disappointing outing.
Dec 14, 2023
Turns in full practice
Levis (ankle) was a full practice participant Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Coming out of Monday's 28-27 come-from-behind win over the Dolphins, Levis was nursing an ankle injury and was listed as a limited participant Wednesday on the Titans' first Week 15 injury report. The team never provided an indication that the ankle issue would be anything that put Levis' status for Sunday's game against the Texans in jeopardy, however, and the quarterback's ability to take every rep Thursday officially clears the way for him to make his eighth consecutive start. The 24-year-old has been a so-so performer through his first seven NFL outings, completing 58.3 percent of his passes for 227.6 passing yards and 1.14 touchdowns per game while adding little production as a rusher (4.6 yards per game, no touchdowns).
Dec 13, 2023
Listed as limited Wednesday
Levis (ankle) was listed as limited in Wednesday's walk-through practice, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
At this stage there's nothing to suggest that Levis is in any danger of missing Sunday's game against the Texans, with his listed limitations Wednesday quite possibly indicative of load management as opposed to a notable injury concern. Assuming the QB practices fully by Friday, he should head into the weekend without a Week 15 designation.
Dec 12, 2023
Leads comeback victory
Levis completed 23 of 38 passes for 327 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Monday's 28-27 win over Miami. He added four rushes for 15 yards.
ANALYSIS
Levis had an unremarkable first half in which he threw a pick-six while also struggling to consistently place the ball accurately. Things turned around for him in the second half, however, as he connected with several different Tennessee pass catchers for chunk gains. All told, he completed seven passes of at least 20 yards to top 300 passing yards in a game for the first time in his career. While it was a positive performance for the rookie, Derrick Henry continues to dominate work near the goal line, leaving Levis with one or fewer touchdowns in five of his seven starts.
Dec 4, 2023
Struggles continue in loss
Levis completed 16 of 33 passes for 224 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions in Sunday's 31-28 overtime loss to the Colts. He added two rushes for five yards.
ANALYSIS
Levis had one of his better performances from a statistical perspective, topping 200 yards for the first time in his last three starts. However, that didn't come without struggles as he completed less than 50 percent of his pass attempts and was also sacked six times, which led to three fumbles. Overall, Levis has now failed to record multiple touchdowns in four of his six starts and has reached 200 yards on only three occasions.
Nov 30, 2023
Returns to full practice
Levis (ankle) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The ankle injury resulted in Levis' practice reps being capped Wednesday, but his return to full practice participation clears the way for him to make his sixth start of the season Sunday versus the Colts. Through his first five NFL appearances, Levis has completed 91 of 152 pass attempts (59.9 percent) for 1,042 yards (6.9 YPA) and a 6:2 TD:INT.
Nov 29, 2023
Limited by ankle issue
Levis was a limited participant at practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per John Glennon of NashvillePost.com, Levis appeared to be hampered to some degree by his ankle during Wednesday's session, but given that the quarterback was able to work through the issue -- albeit in a limited fashion -- he'll most likely be available Sunday against the Colts. That said, Levis will need to practice fully by Friday in order to avoid carrying an injury designation into the weekend.
Nov 27, 2023
Not asked to do much in victory
Levis completed 18 of 28 passes for 185 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 17-10 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Levis did the majority of his work in the first half, as he attempted only 10 passes across the final two quarters while the Titans attempted to preserve a victory. As a result, he was held under 200 passing yards for the third consecutive game, and he's now failed to throw for a touchdown in three of his starts. Positively, Levis was willing to push the ball down the field, with one-third of his completions going for more than 15 yards. Tennessee has been willing to rely on its defense and ground attack to win games this season, and that's unlikely to change down the stretch, thus limiting Levis' upside.
Nov 19, 2023
Two touchdowns in blowout loss
Levis completed 13 of 17 passes for 158 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 34-14 loss to the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Levis's line suggests he had a relatively productive day, though he struggled to get the Tennessee offense moving for the majority of the contest. The Titans ran only 38 offensive plays and possessed the ball for just under 24 minutes while going down 27-0 to the Jaguars as a result. Levis did manage two garbage-time scores, the highlight of which was a 43-yard pass to DeAndre Hopkins on a trick play. Since an excellent debut against Atlanta in Week 8, Levis has only two touchdowns across three games while failing to reach 200 yards on two occasions.
Nov 12, 2023
Struggles with efficiency in loss
Levis completed 19 of 39 passes for 199 yards with no touchdowns and one interception in the Titans' 20-6 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Levis struggled with his accuracy and averaged a modest 5.1 yards per attempt while also taking four sacks. The rookie did impressively connect with eight different targets, but after a four-touchdown breakout against the Falcons in Week 8, Levis has now gone without a scoring toss in back-to-back weeks while completing only 52.6 percent of his passes in that span heading into a Week 11 road matchup against the Jaguars.
Nov 7, 2023
Will start moving forward
Coach Mike Vrabel said Tuesday that Levis will be the Titans' starting quarterback moving forward, Joe Rexrode of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Meanwhile, Ryan Tannehill (ankle) will serve as Levis' backup as soon as he's healthy enough to play, per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com. Levis has put together back-to-back productive performances in which he completed 41 of 68 passes (60.3 percent) for 500 yards, four touchdowns and one interception while also running eight times for 13 yards. He'll look to keep up the pace Sunday on the road against the Buccaneers' 31st-ranked pass defense (279.4 yards per game).
Nov 3, 2023
Not yet named starter
Coach Mike Vrabel wouldn't commit to Levis being the starter moving forward but said Friday that the team would evaluate the depth chart and name a starting quarterback Tuesday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis has started the last two games in place of Ryan Tannehill (ankle), posting a 1-1 record. After throwing four touchdowns in the Week 8 win over Atlanta, Levis failed to throw a touchdown in Thursday's loss to Pittsburgh. Tannehill's health, the short-term playoff chances of the 3-5 Titans, and the long-term implications of Levis' development are all factors that will go into the equation of naming the team's starter for Week 10 against the Buccaneers.
Nov 3, 2023
Solid numbers in Week 9 loss
Levis completed 22 of 39 passes for 262 yards with no touchdowns and one interception and rushed once for two yards in the Titans' 20-16 loss to the Steelers on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Levis went a long way toward proving his Week 8, four-touchdown pro debut against the Falcons wasn't a fluke with Thursday's productive performance on a short week against an aggressive Steelers defense. The rookie showed plenty of grit while taking four sacks and withstanding significant pressure throughout the night, connecting with eight different targets in the process. Levis nearly drove the Titans to a game-winning touchdown late as well before throwing an interception in the end zone with six seconds remaining. Given his body of work over his first two games, it's likely safe to assume there will at least be an internal debate about whether Levis or Ryan Tannehill (ankle) draws the start for a Week 10 road matchup against the Buccaneers on Nov. 12.

Locked in for Week 9 start
Levis will start Thursday's game against the Steelers with Ryan Tannehill (ankle) having been officially ruled out for the Week 9 contest.
ANALYSIS
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel had already said Tuesday that Levis was trending toward a second straight start, and with Tannehill having remained a spectator for Wednesday's practice while tending to a right high-ankle sprain, the rookie second-round pick will remain atop the depth chart for at least one more week. In his NFL debut this past Sunday against the Falcons, Levis looked more season than anticipated. In addition to playing turnover-free football and taking just two sacks, Levis completed 19 of his 29 pass attempts for 238 yards and four touchdowns while adding 11 yards on the ground. Though replicating the Week 8 performance will be a tough task, Levis at least gets a somewhat favorable draw in matching up with a Steelers pass defense that has given up 245.4 passing yards per game, good for 24th in the NFL.

Headed for second straight start
Head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed Tuesday that Levis is likely to remain the Titans' starting quarterback Thursday at Pittsburgh, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Ryan Tannehill hasn't been cleared to resume practicing since suffering a right high-ankle sprain in the Titans' Week 6 loss to the Ravens on Oct. 15, so unless his condition takes a dramatic turn for the better in the next two days, he'll miss a second straight game coming out of Tennessee's Week 7 bye. The Titans aren't incentivized to rush Tannehill back after Levis turned in arguably the best performance of the season by any Tennessee quarterback in this past Sunday's win over the Falcons. In what was his NFL debut, Levis completed 19 of 29 pass attempts for 238 yards and four touchdowns. He added 11 yards on the ground and didn't turn the ball over, after Tannehill and Malik Willis had accounted for six interceptions and a lost fumble between them through the first eight weeks of the season.

Expected to start Thursday
Levis is expected to start Thursday's game against the Steelers, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis is coming off a four-touchdown NFL debut in which he led the Titans to a 28-23 win over the Falcons, so he's certainly made a case to keep the No. 1 QB gig. It's also possible that Ryan Tannehill (ankle) simply isn't trending in the right direction to be ready for Thursday night's contest, but if Levis can log another impressive performance in primetime, it could be hard for Tennessee's coaching staff to justify going back to a veteran. Levis connected with DeAndre Hopkins for three scores Week 8, while also capping his day with a 33-yard TD to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.

Makes case to keep starting job
Levis completed 19 of 29 passes for 238 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions in Sunday's 28-23 win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Despite rumors of a split at quarterback in the absence of Ryan Tannehill (ankle), Levis was the only Titan to attempt a pass. He looked plenty comfortable in his NFL debut, connecting with DeAndre Hopkins for long scores of 47 and 16 yards while capping his day with a 33-yard touchdown toss to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Tennessee understandably ran a conservative gameplan -- they called 36 rushes as opposed to 31 pass plays -- but Levis ran a more explosive offense than was previously managed by Tannehill.

Expected to be Week 8 starter
Levis is expected to be the Titans' starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Falcons and take most of the snaps behind center, despite head coach Mike Vrabel having not named a Week 8 starter while noting that both Levis and Malik Willis will play in the absence of Ryan Tannehill (ankle), Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
After suffering a right high-ankle sprain in the Titans' Week 6 loss to the Ravens, Tannehill didn't practice in any fashion coming out of the team's Week 7 bye and could be in danger of missing two straight games, given that the Titans are set to travel to Pittsburgh for a Thursday night game Week 9. Rapoport initially reported Wednesday that the Titans had been preparing for Levis to start Week 8 in anticipation of Tannehill not being available, and it appears little has changed on that front during the team's week of practice, even though Vrabel hasn't confirmed Tennessee's plans at quarterback. While Willis' superior rushing ability could prompt the Titans to hand him a few packages or even have him lead the offense for multiple drives, Levis looks like he'll get the bulk of the snaps Sunday in what will be his NFL debut. The rookie second-round pick out of Kentucky doesn't make for an inspiring fantasy option this week, given the prospect of him losing snaps to Willis along with the run-heavy tendencies

Could be part of QB timeshare
Head coach Mike Vrabel said Friday that both Levis and Malik Willis will take snaps at quarterback Sunday against the Falcons with Ryan Tannehill (ankle) ruled out for Week 8, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Vrabel made similar comments about the Titans' quarterback situation earlier in the week when Tannehill's status for Sunday's game looked to be in doubt, and the coach hasn't named a fill-in starter even with Tannehill having now been officially ruled out. Given that Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Wednesday that Levis is being prepped for the start and is expected to see the bulk of the playing time behind center, the second-round pick out of Kentucky appears to be a higher percentage fantasy play than Willis, despite Vrabel's lack of commitment regarding how the playing time might break down between the two. Even if two quarterbacks don't alternate series and Levis does get the bulk of the playing time, the rookie could still cede snaps to the more mobile Willis when the Titans want to get more of a rushing threat on the field to complement lead back Derrick Henry. The uncertain playing-time outlook along with the fact that the Titans are likely to lean heavily on their ground game makes Levis a low-en

Could share snaps if Tannehill is out
While coach Mike Vrabel acknowledged Wednesday that both Levis and Malik Willis would play Sunday against the Falcons if Ryan Tannehill (ankle) is unavailable, Vrabel noted that he hasn't stated Levis would be the starter in such a scenario, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Wyatt, Vrabel suggested that if Tannehill doesn't play this weekend, the Titans may opt to alternate Levis and Willis versus Atlanta. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network previously indicated that Tennessee was believed to be prepping Levis to be the team's Week 8 starter, but for now the situation is developing, with Tannehill not slated to practice Wednesday.

Preparing for start vs. Falcons
The Titans are expected to start Levis over Malik Willis during Sunday's game against the Falcons with Ryan Tannehill (ankle) potentially unavailable, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Mike Vrabel said Tuesday that both Levis and Willis would be expected to see the field if Tannehill's high-ankle sprain keeps him sidelined Week 8. It looks, however, like Levis would get the starting nod. The rookie second-round has been a healthy scratch all season, and he missed two of the Titans' three preseason games with a thigh injury, so it makes sense for the team to take a look at Levis as early as possible and see what he offers under center for the long-term.

NFL debut could come Week 8
Coach Mike Vrabel said Tuesday he would expect both Levis and Malik Willis to see the field Sunday versus Atlanta if Ryan Tannehill (ankle) isn't able to play, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis has been a healthy scratch all season, serving as Titans' third quarterback with Malik Willis having been the No. 2 option. If Tannehill's right high-ankle sprain requires another week of recovery, however, it sounds like Tennessee will take advantage of the opportunity to take a look at Levis under center. The rookie second-round pick missed two of Tennessee's three preseason games due to a thigh injury, so the team hasn't had many chances to evaluate him in game-action yet.

Third quarterback to begin career
Levis (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Levis will serve as the Titans' third quarterback, with Malik Willis instead serving as Ryan Tannehill's backup. Levis missed two of the team's three preseason games with a thigh injury, so this decision doesn't come as a significant surprise.

Returns to practice
Levis (thigh) is practicing Thursday, Ben Arthur of FoxSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis has missed some time due to the injury during training camp, including the team's final preseason contest against the Patriots on Friday. However, the 2023 second-round selection appears to be healthy once again. which is good news for the Kentucky product, although it's still unclear whether he or Malik Willis has earned the No. 2 quarterback role behind incumbent starter, Ryan Tannehill.

Expected to practice this week
Coach Mike Vrabel said Monday he expects Levis (thigh) to resume practicing this week, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Vrabel said the rookie second-round pick has done a good job maintaining focus despite sitting out Friday's preseason finale against the Patriots. Levis has spent the summer competing with Malik Willis for the No. 2 quarterback gig behind Ryan Tannehill.
Aug 25, 2023
Not expected to play Friday
Levis (thigh) isn't expected to play in Friday's preseason finale against New England, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis returned to practice Wednesday and told reporters he expected to play Friday, but the Titans apparently will hold him out. Ryan Tannehill likely will start and play a bit before handing things over to Malik Willis for the rest of the night. Willis and Levis have been competing for the No. 2 QB job all summer.
Aug 23, 2023
Back at practice Wednesday
Levis (lower body) returned to practice Wednesday and expects to play in Friday's preseason finale against the Patriots, Ben Arthur of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis missed Tennessee's second preseason game, but the rookie second-round pick is still within striking distance of second-year pro Malik Willis in the battle for the backup job behind Ryan Tannehill. Willis didn't help his case with Levis out, throwing for just 85 yards while playing the entire game against the Vikings on Aug. 19.
Aug 22, 2023
Hopes to play Friday night
Levis (lower body) said his goal is to play in the Titans' preseason finale against the Patriots on Friday night, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Mike Vrabel also expressed hope and optimism that the rookie could play in the preseason finale after he missed the second exhibition last weekend. Levis did indicate his injury isn't too serious, but this might be his last chance to make a move on Malik Willis for QB2 duties behind Ryan Tannehill. In the preseason opener, Levis completed nine of 14 passes for 85 scoreless yards and one interception.
Aug 19, 2023
Not playing Saturday
Levis (lower body) will not play in Saturday's preseason game in Minnesota, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis exited Thursday's practice early due to a lower-body injury, and it looks like the Titans will opt to err on the side of caution with their second-round draft selection. As a result, second-year quarterback, Malik Willis is expected to play the full game under center. Levis has primarily worked as Tennessee's third-string quarterback so far during training camp.
Aug 17, 2023
Exits Thursday's practice
Levis exited Thursday's practice early, per Nick Suss of the Tennessean, due to what Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com indicated was a lower-body injury.
ANALYSIS
As far as Levis' status for Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings, coach Mike Vrabel said that the Titans will have to "see where he's at." If Levis is unavailable for the contest, the team's options would include a full preseason game for Malik Willis versus Minnesota or possibly starter Ryan Tannehill seeing reps as well. Per Suss, Levis has primarily worked as Tennessee's third-string QB during training camp behind Tannehill and Willis.

Struggles in preseason debut
Levis completed nine of 14 pass attempts for 85 yards and one interception in Tennessee's preseason game against Chicago on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Levis played off the bench while Malik Willis started, but the two went on to rotate between several series at a time. Preseason rarely offers conclusive insights and this game is no exception, so it's probably best not to read into the results too much. With that said, it seems Levis fared a little more poorly than Willis, who completed 16 of 25 pass attempts for 189 yards and one touchdown while adding 22 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Both quarterbacks badly struggled with managing the pass rush, yet Willis' four sacks versus 25 pass attempts doesn't look quite as bad as Levis' four sacks versus 14 pass attempts. The competition to back up Ryan Tannehill figures to go on between Levis and Willis for some time.
Aug 12, 2023
Expected to split work with Willis
Levis is expected to rotate series with Malik Willis during Saturday's preseason game against the Bears, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Ryan Tannehill is still viewed as the Titans' starting quarterback and will thus take a seat for the team's first preseason contest. Willis, a 2022 third-round pick, is expected to draw the start versus Chicago, but he'll likely rotate series with Levis, a rookie second-round pick. Levis has struggled during training camp and currently finds himself as the No. 3 quarterback on Tennessee's depth chart, but he has a great opportunity to showcase his skills in extended action versus Chicago.
Aug 11, 2023
Working with third-string offense
Levis has been running the third-string offense in practice while Malik Willis is working with the second-string offense, Joe Rexrode of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Levis still has an uphill climb to win the backup spot behind Ryan Tannehill, but the 33rd overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft has been closing ground and could potentially leapfrog Willis with a strong performance in the preseason, starting with Saturday's game against the Bears. Willis was drafted in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and while he started three games as a rookie, Willis struggled to a 0:3 TD:INT. Rexrode notes that Levis is far ahead of where Willis was at this point as a rookie.
Aug 5, 2023
Winning over teammates
Levis has had an inconsistent rookie training camp, but has shown leadership qualities, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wyatt reported a specific story during two-minute drills Friday when Levis scrambled up the middle for a nice gain. Derrick Henry was quick to congratulate him on the play, which Wyatt used as an example of the rookie winning over some of the veterans on the team. Levis is in competition with Malik Willis for the backup quarterback job, though that likely won't be settled until at least a couple of preseason games occur.

Slide ends in Tennessee
The Titans selected Levis in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 33rd overall.
ANALYSIS
Levis' long slide out of the first round came to an end early in Round 2 as the Titans moved up via a trade with the Cardinals to make the pick. Though the notion of Levis going first overall never seemed plausible, there was some sense he would be a top-10 pick at the very least. Levis has plenty of pluses and minuses to his game. On the one hand, Levis has a big frame (6-foot-4, 229 pounds) with solid mobility to go with a powerful throwing arm. On the other, Levis is still very raw for a player his age. He will turn 24 before his rookie season and it took him until his fourth year in college and a transfer out of Penn State in order to win a starting job. Levis had strong statistics in his first year at Kentucky with 24 passing touchdowns and nine rushing scores. He played through bumps and bruises in 2022 and the production suffered, especially in the rushing category. There was concern regarding a lingering toe issue that may have fueled his slide out of the first round. Now in Tennessee, Levis projects
