Keep up with the latest injuries from the Vikings vs Packers game on Sunday with our National Football League injury report.Nov 3, 2025
Limited to special teams
Scott played 13 snaps, all on special teams, in Sunday's win at Detroit.
ANALYSIS
When Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason are healthy, Scott will have a limited role on offense. He didn't play on offense after Jones hurt his shoulder in the game, but could figure back into the mix if Jones is sidelined next week against Baltimore.

Gets time late in blowout loss
Scott had two carries for 16 yards and two receptions for eight yards on two targets in Sunday's loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
With Aaron Jones back from a hamstring injury Scott worked as the No. 3 running back. He only got playing time after the game became a blowout loss as all of his touches on offense came late in the fourth quarter. He's likely to have a very small role on offense if Jones and Jordan Mason are healthy.

Active Thursday, but Jones is back
Scott (wrist) is listed as active Thursday at the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Scott emerged from this past Sunday's loss to the Eagles with a wrist injury and then logged a pair of limited walkthroughs before the Vikings tagged him as questionable for Week 8 action. While he'll be available to Minnesota's backfield, he'll be welcoming back Aaron Jones (hamstring) for the first time since Week 2 after the veteran was activated from IR and now is active for Thursday's game. Scott very well could be the third RB behind Jordan Mason and Jones moving forward.

Status in question for Thursday
Scott (wrist) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game at the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
The same can be said for fellow RB Aaron Jones (hamstring), though the Vikings will need to activate him from injured reserve Thursday afternoon for him to have a chance to return to action for the first time since Week 2. If Jones remains sidelined and Scott is deemed active, the latter will resume his modest role behind Jordan Mason from the last four contests (6.8 touches for 29.5 yards from scrimmage per game while recording one TD catch).

Limited in Tuesday's walkthrough
Scott (wrist) was a limited participant in Tuesday's walkthrough.
ANALYSIS
Scott has been listed as a limited practice participant in each of the first two days of the week due to a wrist injury he picked up in the Vikings' Week 7 loss to the Eagles. He would need to practice in full Wednesday in order to avoid an injury designation heading into Thursday's game against the Chargers. Aaron Jones (hamstring) was designated to return from injured reserve Tuesday, but if he's not able to play, Scott -- if cleared for Thursday's game -- would be the Vikings' RB2 behind Jordan Mason.

Estimated as LP to open week
The Vikings estimated Scott (wrist) as an limited participant on Monday's practice report, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Scott played 10 snaps (nine on offense, one on special teams) during Minnesota's loss to Philadelphia on Sunday and finished with four carries for four yards and one catch for two yards on one target. He picked up a wrist injury in the process, and with the Vikings operating on a condensed week, his practice participation over the next two days will determine whether he'll be cleared to play against the Chargers on Thursday. With Aaron Jones (hamstring) and Ty Chandler (knee) both on injured reserve, the Vikings could elevate Cam Akers or Corey Kiner from the practice squad to the active roster for backfield depth behind Jordan Mason if Scott is not cleared to play Week 8.

Hurts wrist in loss
Scott underwent medical evaluation after the Sunday's loss to the Eagles for a right wrist injury, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Scott had four carries for four yards and one reception for two yards on his only target in the loss. He didn't appear to miss time during the game due to the injury so it may not be serious, but he won't have much time to recover with the Vikings playing Thursday at the Chargers.

Five carries but fumbles in win
Scott had five carries for 18 yards, but lost a fumble, in Sunday's win over Cleveland in London.
ANALYSIS
Scott played on 14 of the offense's 65 carries and was the clear No. 2 running back ahead of Cam Akers (one snap on offense). Scott's fumble could put his No. 2 running back role at risk, but it doesn't appear Akers is a significant threat. However, Scott may have just one more game as the backup if Aaron Jones (hamstring) is able to return from injured reserve in Week 8.

Scores first NFL touchdown
Scott carried the ball twice for one yard and caught six of eight targets for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Steelers in Dublin.
ANALYSIS
The Vikings couldn't get much going on the ground and found themselves staring at a 21-6 deficit heading into the fourth quarter, so Scott saw a career-high workload as a pass catcher and capped a drive inside the final four minutes with a 16-yard TD reception, his first score in the NFL. Jordan Mason is locked into the top spot on the backfield depth chart for Minnesota as long as Aaron Jones (IR, hamstring) is sidelined, but Scott may have earned a more consistent role with this performance, beginning with a Week 5 tilt against the Browns in London.
Sep 22, 2025
Works in backup role
Scott had eight carries for 30 yards and one reception for 20 yards on his lone target in Sunday's win over the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Scott played on 17 of the offense's 60 snaps as he got work in a blowout win behind starter Jordan Mason. Cam Akers played seven snaps late in the fourth quarter. While Scott's usage is encouraging, he also had a fumble (which the Vikings recovered) and the fact Akers was elevated to the active roster just a few days after being signed could be a worry. It's still possible Akers overtakes Scott for backup duties while Aaron Jones is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Cleared to play
Scott (ankle) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday night's game against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Scott will be making his season debut after he missed Week 1 against the Bears. With Ty Chandler (knee) placed on injured reserve earlier this week and set to miss at least the next four games, Scott is in line for RB3 duties behind Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason, though that likely won't translate to many, if any, offensive opportunities.
Sep 11, 2025
Limited on Thursday
Scott (ankle) was limited in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Scott missed Week 1 and was estimated as a full participant Wednesday, but with the Vikings back on the practice field Thursday, the running back's reps were limited. If healthy, Scott would be in line for RB3 duties this week after Ty Chandler (knee) was placed on injured reserve earlier in the day Thursday.
Sep 10, 2025
Deemed full practice participant
Scott (ankle) was estimated as a full participant in Wednesday's practice walkthrough.
ANALYSIS
Scott suffered an ankle injury in Minnesota's final preseason contest Aug. 22 and didn't play in Week 1 versus Chicago. However, he appears to be past the ankle issue given his full-practice designation Wednesday. If Scott is able to play Sunday against Atlanta, he'll likely be Minnesota's No. 3 RB since Ty Chandler isn't expected to play due to a knee injury.
Sep 6, 2025
Out for Week 1
Scott (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday night's game against the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Scott was injured in the Vikings' preseason finale back on Aug. 22 and will be unavailable for the team's Week 1 opener. He was unlikely to see much, if any, playing time to begin with behind Aaron Jones, Jordan Mason and Ty Chandler.
Sep 4, 2025
Still working through ankle issue
Scott (ankle) did not participate in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Scott is nursing an ankle injury that he suffered during the Vikings' preseason finale against the Titans. He'll have two more chances to return to practice and give himself a shot at playing in Monday's regular-season opener against the Bears.
Aug 23, 2025
Suffers ankle injury
Scott suffered an ankle injury during Friday's preseason game against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Scott served as the starting running back for the Vikings on Friday, but none of Aaron Jones, Jordan Mason nor Ty Chandler played. He was held in check on his first few carries but ripped off a 23-yard run on the Vikings' second possession to set up a field goal. Scott looked to be wrestling the third running back role away from Chandler, though both his usage and this injury cast doubt on his status heading into a Week 1 regular season matchup against the Bears.

Productive again Saturday
Scott carried the ball 10 times for 28 yards, caught three of four targets for 44 yards and returned one kickoff for 20 yards in Saturday's 20-12 preseason loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old running back spent last season on the Vikings' practice squad, and Scott appears to have used his time well because he's on the cusp of taking the No. 3 spot on the depth chart away from Ty Chandler. Scott's usage as a return man might be the clearest sign yet he's moved past Chandler in the pecking order, as Chandler's special-teams role was thought to be his one clear edge in the battle. Even if he wins the job, Scott's snaps on offense will likely be very limited with Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason entrenched in the top two backfield jobs.
Aug 11, 2025
May have lead for No. 3 RB role
Scott had seven carries for 40 yards and one reception for 11 yards in Saturday's preseason win over Baltimore. His performance and strong training camp so far may have moved him ahead of Ty Chandler for the No. 3 running back role, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Scott and Chandler will likely battle for the No. 3 role the rest of training camp and the loser may not make the 53-man roster. Chandler is used on kickoff returns, which could give him a slight edge. Still, Scott continues to be trending in the right direction.

Inks futures deal with Vikings
The Vikings signed Scott to a reserve/future contract Wednesday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Scott signed with the Vikings' practice squad in late August after failing to make the Colts' 53-man roster at the end of training camp. He wasn't elevated for a single game during the 2024 season, but he'll be a part of Minnesota's 90-man roster when the new league year starts March 12, which will allow him to train with the Vikings' coaching staff and participate in OTAs, minicamp and training camp. Scott has yet to play in an NFL regular-season game since signing with Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent in May of 2023.

Joins Vikings' practice squad
The Vikings signed Scott to their practice squad Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Scott fell short of making the Colts' initial 53-man roster before inking a deal to join the Vikings' practice squad Thursday. The Maine product was used all over the field during his final collegiate season in 2022, rushing 39 times for 371 yards and four touchdowns while also catching 42 passes for 434 yards and an additional touchdown.

Let go by Indy
The Colts waived Scott on Tuesday, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Scott initially inked with Indianapolis as an UDFA last year, but he missed time with a meniscus tear before eventually landing on the team's practice squad. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, he figures to be a candidate for a practice squad spot once again.
Jan 8, 2024
Signs deal with Indianapolis
Scott signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Scott joined the Colts' practice squad in mid-October, failing to appear in a contest prior to the conclusion of the 2023 campaign. The wide receiver will now have a shot at making his NFL debut if he can crack the team's 53-man roster ahead of the 2024 season.
Oct 17, 2023
Joins Indy's practice squad
The Colts signed Scott to their practice squad Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Scott was out of commission for the first stretch of the 2023 season with a torn meniscus, but he now has a chance to make an impression in Indianapolis. The undrafted rookie is still working towards a potential NFL debut.
Sep 24, 2023
Tries out for Browns
Scott (knee) had a tryout with the Browns on Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
An undrafted rookie, Scott sustained a meniscus tear in early August, and the Colts eventually waived him with an injury settlement. Now that he's seemingly met the terms of said settlement, he's making the rounds with interested parties. Cleveland lost Nick Chubb to a season-ending knee injury Week 2, so the team may be looking at ways to round out its backfield options on the practice squad.
Aug 14, 2023
Suffers meniscus tear
Scott was waived with an injury designation Monday after suffering a meniscus tear in his knee, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Given that Scott signed an injury settlement instead of being waived/injured and reverting to injured reserve, he will be eligible to re-sign with the Colts once he gets healthy. The Maine product recorded 371 rushing yards and four tochdowns to go along with 434 receiving yards on 42 receptions during his final collegiate season.
Aug 14, 2023
Reaches injury settlement
The Colts have waived Scott (quadriceps) with an injury designation.
ANALYSIS
Scott was competing for a depth running back role with Indianapolis before suffering a quadriceps injury. Now that both he and the team have reached an injury settlement he will be able to look for a new opportnity once his health is back up to par. The undrafted free agent tallied 434 yards through the air on 42 receptions to go along with 371 rushing yards and four touchdowns during his final collegiate year at Maine.
Aug 11, 2023
Missing practice with quad injury
Scott (quad) did not practice Thursday, the team's official web site reports.
ANALYSIS
Scott would be in line to get some work in Saturday's preseason game if healthy with Jonathan Taylor (ankle), Zack Moss (ankle) and Deon Jackson (quad) all hurt. Scott appeared in 11 games with Maine last season, recording 42 catches for 434 yards and one touchdown while also turning 39 carries into 371 yards and four scores on the ground. The versatile athlete will compete for a final running back spot but is more likely to land on the practice squad.
May 5, 2023
Signed by Indianapolis
Scott signed a contract with the Colts as an undrafted free agent Friday.
ANALYSIS
Scott appeared in 11 games with Maine last season, recording 42 catches for 434 yards and one touchdown while also turning 39 carries into 371 yards and four scores on the ground. The versatile athlete will now look to compete for a roster spot with the Colts in 2023, with the practice squad potentially his likeliest path to initially sticking with the team.
