Scott played 13 snaps, all on special teams, in Sunday's win at Detroit.

When Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason are healthy, Scott will have a limited role on offense. He didn't play on offense after Jones hurt his shoulder in the game, but could figure back into the mix if Jones is sidelined next week against Baltimore.

Scott had two carries for 16 yards and two receptions for eight yards on two targets in Sunday's loss to the Chargers.

With Aaron Jones back from a hamstring injury Scott worked as the No. 3 running back. He only got playing time after the game became a blowout loss as all of his touches on offense came late in the fourth quarter. He's likely to have a very small role on offense if Jones and Jordan Mason are healthy.

Scott emerged from this past Sunday's loss to the Eagles with a wrist injury and then logged a pair of limited walkthroughs before the Vikings tagged him as questionable for Week 8 action. While he'll be available to Minnesota's backfield, he'll be welcoming back Aaron Jones (hamstring) for the first time since Week 2 after the veteran was activated from IR and now is active for Thursday's game. Scott very well could be the third RB behind Jordan Mason and Jones moving forward.

He picked up a wrist injury in the process, and with the Vikings operating on a condensed week, his practice participation over the next two days will determine whether he'll be cleared to play against the Chargers on Thursday. With Aaron Jones (hamstring) and Ty Chandler (knee) both on injured reserve, the Vikings could elevate Cam Akers or Corey Kiner from the practice squad to the active roster for backfield depth behind Jordan Mason if Scott is not cleared to play Week 8.

Scott underwent medical evaluation after the Sunday's loss to the Eagles for a right wrist injury, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

Scott's fumble could put his No. 2 running back role at risk, but it doesn't appear Akers is a significant threat. However, Scott may have just one more game as the backup if Aaron Jones (hamstring) is able to return from injured reserve in Week 8.

Scott carried the ball twice for one yard and caught six of eight targets for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Steelers in Dublin.

While Scott's usage is encouraging, he also had a fumble (which the Vikings recovered) and the fact Akers was elevated to the active roster just a few days after being signed could be a worry. It's still possible Akers overtakes Scott for backup duties while Aaron Jones is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Scott (ankle) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday night's game against the Falcons.

Scott will be making his season debut after he missed Week 1 against the Bears. With Ty Chandler (knee) placed on injured reserve earlier this week and set to miss at least the next four games, Scott is in line for RB3 duties behind Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason, though that likely won't translate to many, if any, offensive opportunities.

The 26-year-old running back spent last season on the Vikings' practice squad, and Scott appears to have used his time well because he's on the cusp of taking the No. 3 spot on the depth chart away from Ty Chandler. Scott's usage as a return man might be the clearest sign yet he's moved past Chandler in the pecking order, as Chandler's special-teams role was thought to be his one clear edge in the battle. Even if he wins the job, Scott's snaps on offense will likely be very limited with Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason entrenched in the top two backfield jobs.

Scott had seven carries for 40 yards and one reception for 11 yards in Saturday's preseason win over Baltimore. His performance and strong training camp so far may have moved him ahead of Ty Chandler for the No. 3 running back role, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Scott and Chandler will likely battle for the No. 3 role the rest of training camp and the loser may not make the 53-man roster. Chandler is used on kickoff returns, which could give him a slight edge. Still, Scott continues to be trending in the right direction.

The Vikings signed Scott to a reserve/future contract Wednesday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.

Scott signed with the Vikings' practice squad in late August after failing to make the Colts' 53-man roster at the end of training camp. He wasn't elevated for a single game during the 2024 season, but he'll be a part of Minnesota's 90-man roster when the new league year starts March 12, which will allow him to train with the Vikings' coaching staff and participate in OTAs, minicamp and training camp. Scott has yet to play in an NFL regular-season game since signing with Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent in May of 2023.
