Wizards +7.5 (-105) vs. Trail Blazers

The Wizards aren’t good, but they’ve been a little less bad lately. Three of their last four losses have come by six points or less, and they were up against tough opponents: the Nuggets (-6), Clippers (-4), and Hornets (-4), who have one of the best net ratings in January.

Washington may not snap its losing streak tonight, but it can at least compete. It helps that Portland is playing on the second night of a back-to-back, too, after losing to the Celtics on Monday. Take the points at -105.

Pistons @ Nuggets: Under 217 Points (-108)

I see no reason to bet anything but the under at 217 points. Denver has played low-scoring ball since Nikola Jokić went down, averaging 109.1 points and allowing 110.9 over their last 14 games. Meanwhile, Detroit enters with the league’s second-ranked defense.

Both sides remain capable of scoring in bunches when necessary, but the Pistons, especially, have shown a tendency to play in low-scoring games against top competition. Over the last three weeks, they’ve seen totals range from 190 to 215 in games against the Clippers, Suns, Celtics, and Rockets.
