Wizards +1.5 (-112) vs. Nets

This is a battle between two of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference. Brooklyn has the slight edge in the standings, sitting 2.5 games ahead of Washington, but this will also be the second night of a back-to-back for the Nets – and a road one, at that.

The Wizards have also shown some signs of improvement recently, winning five of their last nine games. It’s been a banner year for second-year big Alex Sarr, who has emerged as the team’s best player. Rookie Tre Johnson has also reached double-digit scoring in each of his last seven appearances.

Spurs -6 (-110) @ Pacers

Even with Victor Wembanyama sidelined, I can’t recommend a bet against the Spurs in this spot. San Antonio has proven time and time again that it has the depth to stay competitive without its MVP, and it also shouldn’t take some monumental effort to upend the Pacers.

Indiana is an NBA-worst 6-28 and enters on a 10-game losing streak. The team has found ways to keep games close behind the efforts of Pascal Siakam and Andrew Nembhard, but it’s rarely been enough to add a tally to the win column. I expect the Spurs to wear them down and come away with a decisive win.
