Quiet outing in loss
Hunter logged eight points (3-10 FG, 2-8 3Pt), three rebounds and one assist over 27 minutes during Sunday's 117-115 loss to Boston.
ANALYSIS
Prior to Sunday, Hunter was on fire offensively, averaging 19.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 3.5 threes on a blistering 50.0 percent clip in his last four appearances. While Hunter was inevitably slated to cool down, he will look to bounce back Monday against the Pacers.
Nov 27, 2025
Cleared to play
Hunter (rest) is good to go for Friday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is no longer appearing on the injury report after missing Monday's game against the Raptors for maintenance. Hunter is averaging 18.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.3 three-pointers in 28.9 minutes per contest.
Nov 24, 2025
Resting vs. Raptors
Hunter (rest) is out for Monday's game against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is getting the night off after logging 29 minutes in Sunday's win over the Clippers. In all likelihood, the forward will be back in the lineup for Friday's tilt against the Hawks. Hunter's absence Monday should free up enough playing time to get Dean Wade (knee) onto most streaming radars if the latter suits up.
Nov 24, 2025
Scores 17 points in win
Hunter amassed 17 points (5-11 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one steal over 29 minutes during Sunday's 120-105 win over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Darius Garland didn't have his best scoring performance in this win, so Hunter needed to step up again, but the veteran forward continues to make a big impact for the Cavaliers on offense. Hunter has scored in double digits in eight of his last nine outings, averaging 19.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 0.7 steals per game over that stretch.
Nov 22, 2025
Scores 20 points in win
Hunter closed with 20 points (8-16 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and two steals in 28 minutes during Friday's 120-109 victory over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has scored at least 20 points in back-to-back games for the second time this season, and his longest streak this season in that regard is a three-game stretch between Nov. 8 and Nov. 12. The veteran wing has done a good job adjusting to a starting role with the Cavs this season after being a key reserve in 2024-25. Hunter is averaging 18.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game since the beginning of November.
Nov 19, 2025
Totals 25 point in loss
Hunter racked up 25 points (6-11 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 8-8 FT), four rebounds and two assists in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 114-104 loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Hunter played well after an unimpressive 11-point night Monday. He led the Cavs in scoring by catching fire from beyond the arc, setting a new season high in made triples. This marks the fifth time this year he's reached the 20-point threshold through 13 games.
Nov 18, 2025
Drops 11 in win
Hunter totaled 11 points (5-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt), five rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes during Monday's 118-106 victory over the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has cooled down offensively, averaging 10 points in his last two games after going on a streak averaging 22.3 points in the previous four. While that miniature offensive explosion can likely be attributed to various absences among the starting lineup, it is encouraging to see that Hunter is capable of such offensive production, and he would be a priority-add if any of the other starters were to miss an extended period of time.
Nov 13, 2025
Puts up 21 points in win
Hunter supplied 21 points (8-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two steals in 28 minutes during Wednesday's 130-116 win over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Hunter embraced a bigger role on offense due to the absences of Donovan Mitchell (rest), Evan Mobley (rest) and Darius Garland (toe) to surpass the 20-point mark for the third straight contest. Hunter is making the most of his steady role in the starting lineup and has been a pleasant surprise from a fantasy perspective. Through nine games, Hunter is averaging 19.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 0.9 steals per game.
Nov 9, 2025
Scores season-high 29 points
Hunter produced 29 points (10-16 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 5-7 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block in 30 minutes during Saturday's 128-122 win over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Hunter returned from a one-game absence against the Wizards on Friday but was limited to eight points. He certainly showed the illness is way past him with this performance in the second leg of a back-to-back set. The 29-point output was a season-best effort for Hunter, and he's looking like a reliable offensive weapon for Cleveland, as he's scored at least 16 points in five of his seven appearances this season.
Nov 7, 2025
Suiting up vs. Washington
Hunter (illness) is available for Friday's game against the Wizards, Spencer Davies of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will be available for the Cavaliers after a one-game absence. The veteran wing is enjoying a strong start to the season with averages of 18.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in five starts in 2025-26.
Nov 6, 2025
Likely to play Friday
Hunter (illness) is probable to play Friday against the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Hunter missed Wednesday's game against the 76ers due to an illness, but the probable tag suggests he should be able to return after a one-game absence. Hunter is averaging 18.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in five starts in 2025-26.
Nov 5, 2025
Won't play Wednesday
Hunter (illness) has been ruled out of Wednesday's game against the 76ers, Ethan Sands of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is dealing with an illness that will keep him sidelined. The team will likely give Jaylon Tyson and Dean Wade more time on the floor in Hunter's absence.
Nov 5, 2025
Iffy due to illness
Hunter (illness) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was a late addition to the injury report. It's possible the Cavaliers evaluate him after warmups before a decision is made on his status. Sam Merrill (hip) is also questionable, so the Cavaliers could be pretty shorthanded on the wings unless they get some good news on these forwards.
Nov 2, 2025
Season-high three steals
Hunter accumulated 19 points (5-14 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 7-7 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in 31 minutes during Sunday's 117-109 victory over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter extended his streak of double-digit scoring performances to five games to begin the new campaign, also submitting a season high in steals. Max Strus (foot) is still likely several weeks away from making his season debut, giving Hunter a considerable runway to hold down a starting role. On the season, Hunter has averaged 18.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 0.8 steals in 29.2 minutes per game.
Nov 1, 2025
Drops 26 points in defeat
Hunter registered 26 points (8-18 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 6-8 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one block across 34 minutes during Friday's 112-101 loss to Toronto.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old forward recorded a season-high 26 points, finishing as Cleveland's second-leading scorer with Donovan Mitchell (hamstring) and Darius Garland (toe) sidelined. However, Hunter wasn't very efficient from beyond the arc and has shot just 29.4 percent from three-point range in four regular-season games. He's averaging 18.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists across 28.8 minutes per game this season.
Oct 27, 2025
Delivers 16-point effort in debut
Hunter (knee) tallied 16 points (6-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), four rebounds and two assists across 27 minutes in Sunday's 118-113 win over the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
A right knee contusion kept Hunter sidelined for the first two contests of the season, but the seventh-year forward stepped back into the starting five Sunday with no apparent restrictions. Though he came through with a serviceable scoring tally in his debut, Hunter's production was lacking in just about every other area. That's been a recurring trend throughout his career, with Hunter owning modest averages of 4.1 rebounds, 1.8 three-pointers, 1.5 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.3 blocks in 30.0 minutes over 328 games.
Oct 26, 2025
Good to go Sunday
Hunter (knee) is in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Bucks, Serena Winters of FanDuel Sports Network Ohio reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter missed the first two games of the season with a knee contusion but has been cleared and will be available for Sunday's contest. The wing averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists on 47.0 percent shooting and 40.5 percent from three across 64 regular-season games split between the Hawks and Cavaliers last year. With his return, Jaylon Tyson -- who started the first two games -- will move to the bench.
Oct 25, 2025
Questionable for Sunday
Hunter (knee) is questionable to play in Sunday's game against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has yet to make his season debut, as he continues to nurse a knee issue. If he can't play Sunday, the team will likely turn to Dean Wade and Larry Nance to shoulder the load.
Oct 24, 2025
Won't play vs. Brooklyn
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Nets, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will miss a second straight game to start the season as he continues to deal with a right knee contusion. The team will likely pivot to Dean Wade and Larry Nance to shoulder the load.
Oct 23, 2025
Iffy for Friday
Hunter (knee) is questionable to play in Friday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
After missing the season opener against the Knicks due to a knee issue, Hunter seems to be trending in the right direction. If he's ruled out for a second straight game, the team will likely turn to Dean Wade and Larry Nance to pick up the slack.
Oct 22, 2025
Won't play Wednesday
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's season opener against the Knicks, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter wasn't able to get through any full-contact, 5-on-5 work ahead of Wednesday's season opener, so it's not surprising to see him hit the sidelines. His next chance to play will come Friday in Brooklyn. Expect more minutes for Dean Wade and Larry Nance on Wednesday evening with Hunter watching from the sidelines.
Oct 21, 2025
Questionable for season opener
Hunter (knee) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is in jeopardy of missing the Cavaliers' regular-season opener due to a right knee contusion. The 27-year-old forward took part in a 3-on-3 workout Tuesday, but if he isn't ready for game action Wednesday, Dean Wade, Sam Merrill and Jaylon Tyson are candidates for an uptick in playing time.
Oct 21, 2025
Remains iffy for Wednesday
Hunter (knee) remains uncertain for Opening Night against the Knicks on Wednesday, according to Cavaliers reporterDanny Cunningham.
ANALYSIS
Hunter took part in a 3-on-3 workout Tuesday as he works his way back from a right knee contusion. It sounds like he will carry a questionable tag into Opening Night, but fantasy managers can expect an update once the Cavaliers release their injury report Tuesday evening. Guys like Sam Merrill, Jaylon Tyson and Dean Wade could see increased workloads if Hunter can't play.
Oct 20, 2025
Iffy for Wednesday
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Wednesday's season opener against the Knicks, Sam Amico of HoopsWire.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Kenny Atkinson said Monday it's too early to tell if Hunter will be recovered from his knee contusion by Wednesday. With Max Strus (foot) already out of action, Dean Wade appears to be the next man up for a possible Opening Night spot start.
Oct 14, 2025
Won't return Tuesday
Hunter won't return to Tuesday's preseason game against the Pistons due to a right knee contusion, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter sustained the injury in the second quarter and didn't return for the second half. He'll finish with 14 points (3-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 6-7 FT), two assists, one rebound and one steal across 14 minutes. The 27-year-old forward is being held out as a precautionary measure, according to Fedor. Still, his status will be worth monitoring ahead of the team's regular-season opener against the Knicks on Oct. 22.
Oct 14, 2025
Back in action Tuesday
Hunter (rest) is back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's preseason game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out Sunday's exhibition loss to Boston, Hunter will look to tune up in Cleveland's preseason finale. The veteran sharpshooter is in line for a short-term boost in fantasy appeal to begin the season with Max Strus (foot) on the mend.
Oct 13, 2025
Rested Sunday
Hunter (rest) did not play in Sunday's preseason loss to Boston.
ANALYSIS
The Cavs rested their entire starting lineup for Sunday's meaningless game, but all the main guys should be back for Tuesday's preseason matchup with the Pistons.
Oct 12, 2025
Not in starting lineup
Hunter will not start Sunday's preseason game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
It appears the Cavaliers are electing to give their usual starters the night off Sunday. Assuming that is the case, Hunter's next chance to suit up is Tuesday against Detroit.
Oct 10, 2025
Stays hot in preseason
Hunter put up 20 points (6-12 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks in 24 minutes of Thursday's 119-112 preseason loss to Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has made quite the impression in Cleveland during the preseason. Through two games, he's second on the team in usage (28.2 percent) while producing averages of 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.0 blocks and 2.5 three-pointers in 20.9 minutes per contest. He's also shooting the ball extremely well, hitting 61.9 percent from the field.
Oct 7, 2025
Scores 17 points in preseason loss
Hunter tallied 17 points (7-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one steal across 18 minutes in Tuesday's 118-117 preseason loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Hunter tied the team-high mark in points in Cleveland's preseason opener. He also led the Cavaliers in rebounds. After being acquired from the Hawks ahead of last season's trade deadline, the 27-year-old forward averaged 14.3 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 42.6 percent from three-point range in 25.1 minutes per game across 27 regular-season appearances (five starts).
Apr 12, 2025
Will rest Sunday
Hunter (rest) is out for Sunday's game against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter missed Friday's win over the Knicks and will also sit out the regular-season finale. The veteran forward will likely come off the bench for the Cavaliers during the playoff run, so the team will aim to have him 100 percent ready for the postseason which begins on April 19. Hunter is averaging 14.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.7 steals per game in 27 games (five starts) with Cleveland this season.
Apr 11, 2025
Sitting out Friday
Hunter is listed as out for Friday's game versus the Knicks due to rest purposes
ANALYSIS
Hunter will sit out the second leg of Cleveland's back-to-back Friday due to rest purposes. Dean Wade, Isaac Okoro and Javonte Green are candidates to receive increased playing time in his absence. Hunter's next chance to suit up is Sunday's regular-season finale against Indiana.
Apr 10, 2025
Set to start vs. Indiana
Hunter will be in the starting lineup Thursday against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will make his ninth start of the season on Thursday. The Virginia product has averaged 17.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game, shooting 43 percent from the floor and 46.9 percent from beyond the arc as a starter.
Apr 5, 2025
Drops 18 from second unit
Hunter notched 18 points (7-16 FG, 4-8 3Pt), seven rebounds and three assists across 29 minutes off the bench during Friday's 114-113 win over San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
The former Hawk has settled in nicely on the Cavs' second unit. Hunter has scored in double digits in eight straight games, averaging 14.0 points, 3.8 boards, 1.9 threes, 1.1 assists and 0.8 steals in 24.1 minutes per contest. He's not as likely to produce ceiling games as he was in Atlanta -- he averaged 13.3 shots a game with his old club this season, a figure which has dropped to 9.5 a game in Cleveland -- but a better supporting cast has given Hunter a steadier floor.
Apr 2, 2025
Leads bench in scoring in win
Hunter tallied 16 points (6-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and one steal over 26 minutes in Wednesday's 124-105 win over the New York Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter once again provided a lift off the Cleveland bench Wednesday, pacing all bench players in scoring while finishing as one of four players with 15 or more points in a winning effort. Hunter has reached the double-digit scoring mark in seven straight contests, posted 15 or more points in three of those outings.
Mar 24, 2025
Top scorer off bench in victory
Hunter provided 15 points (5-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and six rebounds across 22 minutes during Sunday's 120-91 win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Hunter provided a nice lift off the Cleveland bench in Sunday's contest, leading all bench players in scoring and rebounds while finishing as one of three Cavaliers players with 15 or more points. Hunter has recorded at least 15 points and five boards in 18 games this season, posting at least 15 points in three of his last four contests.
Mar 18, 2025
Sliding to bench Tuesday
Hunter will come off the bench during Tuesday's game against the Clippers, Serena Winters of FanDuel Sports Network Ohio reports.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old forward will retreat to the bench due to Evan Mobley (foot) returning to game action. Over his last five outings (one start), Hunter has averaged 12.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists across 24.0 minutes per contest.
Mar 16, 2025
Starting sans Mobley
Hunter will enter the starting five in Sunday's game against the Magic.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old forward will receive the starting nod due to Evan Mobley (foot) being sidelined. Hunter has made three starts since being dealt to the Cavaliers on Feb. 6, during which he has averaged 16.7 points and 4.3 rebounds across 26.3 minutes per contest.
Mar 15, 2025
Scores 18 points in return
Hunter accumulated 18 points (4-6 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 23 minutes during Friday's 133-124 win over the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Hunter missed Tuesday's win over the Nets due to an illness, but the veteran forward returned to action Friday and posted a decent stat line, highlighted by the efficiency of his shooting. Hunter has mostly played off the bench for the Cavaliers, a similar role to the one he had in Atlanta, and he remains productive. He's averaging 14.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in 11 contests (two starts) since the end of the All-Star break, and those numbers make him a player worth targeting in most formats, either as a streaming alternative or as a roster candidate in deep formats.
Mar 14, 2025
Good to go against Memphis
Hunter (illness) is available for Friday's game against the Grizzlies, Ethan Sands of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was sidelined for Tuesday's game against the Nets due to an illness, but he has recovered enough to suit up for Friday's interconference clash. Hunter has averaged 14.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 25.0 minutes per game since the All-Star break, and he should have an expanded role in the offense due to the absence of Donovan Mitchell (groin).
Mar 13, 2025
Probable for Friday
Hunter (illness) is listed as probable for Friday's game against the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was held out Tuesday due to an illness, but he appears in line to take the court Friday. The team should have another update on his availability closer to tipoff.
Mar 11, 2025
Won't go Tuesday
Hunter (illness) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against Brooklyn, Sam Amico of HoopsWire.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will miss his first outing with the Cavaliers due to an injury/illness since being traded to Cleveland on Feb. 6. The 27-year-old forward's next chance to play will come Friday against the Grizzlies. Sam Merrill, Isaac Okoro and Dean Wade are all candidates for an uptick in playing time due to Hunter, Donovan Mitchell (groin) and Ty Jerome (rest) being sidelined.
Mar 11, 2025
Questionable with illness
Hunter (illness) has been listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
After a disappointing performance against the Bucks on Sunday, Hunter is in danger of missing Tuesday's matchup with the Nets due to an illness. Issac Okoro and Dean Wade could get more time against Brooklyn.
Mar 5, 2025
Heads to bench Wednesday
Hunter is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Miami, Spencer Davies of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Evan Mobley is back in Cleveland's starting lineup following a one-game respite Tuesday against the Bulls, pushing Hunter back to the bench Wednesday. Across six contests as a reserve with the Cavaliers, Hunter has averaged 14.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.3 blocks and 2.8 three-pointers in 25.6 minutes while shooting 58.6 percent from deep.
Mar 2, 2025
Surpasses 30 points in start
Hunter closed Sunday's 133-129 overtime win over the Trail Blazers with 32 points (8-15 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 11-12 FT), seven rebounds and one steal across 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Hunter got the starting nod Sunday with Donovan Mitchell (rest) out, putting together one of his best outings of the season while leading all Cleveland players in scoring and threes made. Hunter surpassed the 30-point mark for the second time this season, falling just shy of his season-high mark of 35 points that he recorded Jan. 27. Hunter has started in six contests, tallying at least 20 points in four of those appearances.
Mar 2, 2025
Starting sans Mitchell
Hunter will start Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers, Serena Winters of FanDuel Sports Network Ohio reports.
ANALYSIS
With Donovan Mitchell (rest) getting the afternoon off, Hunter will make his second start as a Cavalier. In his debut with Cleveland, Hunter posted (3-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), one rebound and one steal over 23 minutes as a starter during a 128-107 win over Minnesota. Over his last six appearances off the bench, Hunter averaged 14.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 25.5 minutes per game.
Feb 21, 2025
Instant offense off bench in win
Hunter notched 16 points (6-7 FG, 4-4 3Pt) and one assist across 19 minutes during Friday's 142-105 victory over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
It was a very efficient 16 points off the bench for Hunter, who did his damage in the scoring department in just 19 minutes Friday. Over his four games since being acquired by the Cavaliers, the 27-year-old sharpshooter has averaged 13.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.5 steals and 3.3 three-pointers in 24.0 minutes while shooting a sizzling 61.9 percent from beyond the arc. However, Hunter is likely to continue seeing fewer shots fall his way than when he was with the Hawks, and his fantasy appeal in category-based leagues still appears to be limited to points and triples.
Feb 12, 2025
Moves to bench against Toronto
Hunter is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Raptors, Serena Winters of FanDuel Sports Network Ohio reports.
ANALYSIS
After starting in his team debut Monday against Minnesota, Hunter will move to Cleveland's bench in the return of Max Strus (ankle). Hunter averaged 18.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.8 steals in 28.3 minutes through 33 games off the bench with the Hawks this season, and he should still play significant minutes from the Cavaliers' second unit.
Feb 10, 2025
Reaches double figures in debut
Hunter contributed 12 points (3-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), one rebound and one steal over 23 minutes in Monday's 128-107 win over Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Hunter made his Cavaliers debut Monday by stepping into the starting lineup with Max Strus (ankle) sidelined, finding success from deep while finishing as one of six Cleveland players with a double-digit point total. Hunter has connected on three or more threes in 21 outings while reaching double figures in scoring in all but four appearances. As Hunter continues to get acclimated to his new teammates, expect his production to continue to increase.
Feb 10, 2025
Starting in Cleveland debut
Hunter will enter the starting lineup in Monday's game against Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old will make his Cavaliers debut and step into the starting five with Max Strus (ankle) sidelined. Over his last 10 outings with the Hawks (two starts), Hunter averaged 17.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.3 three-pointers and 1.7 assists across 31.4 minutes per contest.
Feb 9, 2025
Off injury report for Monday
Hunter (recently traded) is off the injury report for Monday's game against Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is expected to make his Cavaliers debut after having been traded to Cleveland on Thursday. The 27-year-old is in the midst of a career-best year, and he could compete for the starting job at small forward with Max Strus. Over his last 10 outings with the Hawks (two starts), Hunter averaged 17.8 points and 3.8 rebounds across 31.4 minutes per contest.
Feb 9, 2025
Expected to play Monday
Hunter (recently traded) is expected to make his Cavaliers debut against the Timberwolves on Monday, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is expected to suit up with Cleveland for the first time after having been traded from the Hawks on Thursday. The 27-year-old has put together a career-best year thus far, and he could compete for the starting job at small forward with Max Strus. Hunter is averaging 19.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.6 three-pointers and 1.5 assists in 28.8 minutes per game across 37 regular-season appearances (four starts).
Feb 7, 2025
Won't go Friday
Hunter (recently traded) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Washington, Spencer Davies of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will need to wait to make his Cavaliers debut after having been acquired by Cleveland on Thursday via trade. HIs next chance to feature will come Monday against Minnesota. The 27-year-old has put together a career-best season thus far, averaging 19.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.6 three-pointers and 1.5 assists in 28.8 minutes per game over 37 regular-season appearances (four starts).
Feb 6, 2025
Dealt to Cleveland
The Hawks traded Hunter to the Cavaliers in exchange for Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, three second-round picks and two picks swaps Thursday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is in the midst of the best season of his career, averaging 19.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 28.8 minutes across 37 appearances for the Hawks. The 26-year-old forward has also displayed impressive efficiency this season, posting 46.1/39.3/85.8 shooting splits. While Hunter has mostly come off the bench this season, his efficient outside shooting and quality perimeter defense will likely allow him to compete for a starting spot with Max Strus.
Feb 6, 2025
Productive in another start
Hunter had 22 points (8-15 FG, 6-11 3Pt), 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals in 39 minutes during Wednesday's 126-125 loss to San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has started in each of the Hawks' last two games and has scored at least 20 points both times, so he remains productive regardless of whether he's starting or playing off the bench. He's likely to remain in the starting lineup since Jalen Johnson (shoulder) won't return this season, and it's conceivable to expect an uptick in his touches and overall usage rate. Hunter has reached the 20-point mark in four of his last six appearances, averaging 20.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in that stretch.
Feb 3, 2025
Starting Monday
Hunter will start in Monday's game against Detroit, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will receive the starting nod for the first time since Oct. 25 on Monday. The 27-year-old has been stellar off the bench this season, and over his last five outings, he has averaged 17.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists across 30.4 minutes per contest.
Jan 28, 2025
Scores season-high 35 points
Hunter provided 35 points (12-21 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 7-8 FT), two rebounds and one assist in 32 minutes during Monday's 100-92 loss to Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Hunter returned from a one-game absence, leading the Hawks with a season-high 35 points off the bench. Both Trae Young (hamstring) and Dyson Daniels (ankle) were missing, meaning Hunter was left to shoulder the bulk of the offensive load. Through the first 32 games of the season, Hunter is putting up a career-high 19.2 points per game, providing Atlanta with a relatively consistent scoring threat as part of the second unit.

Good to go against Minnesota
Hunter (illness) is available for Monday's game against the Timberwolves, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
An illness prevented Hunter from playing in Saturday's game against the Raptors, but he has recovered enough to suit up for Monday's contest. He has averaged 14.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals over 28.7 minutes per game since and including Jan. 1.
Jan 26, 2025
Questionable against Timberwolves
Hunter (illness) is questionable for Monday's game against the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Hunter could miss a second consecutive game due to an illness. David Roddy, Vit Krejci and Bogdan Bogdanovic could see increased minutes if Hunter remains sidelined.
Jan 25, 2025
Won't play against Toronto
Hunter (illness) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Hunter popped up on Saturday morning's injury report due to an illness, and it appears to be serious enough for him to not play. His next chance to take the court will be Monday against the Timberwolves. David Roddy, Vit Krejci and Bogdan Bogdanovic should see increased minutes off the bench due to Hunter's injury.
Jan 25, 2025
Iffy against Toronto
Hunter is listed as questionable for Saturday's game versus the Raptors due to an illness, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is in danger of missing Saturday's contest after contracting an illness overnight. With Jalen Johnson (shoulder) already ruled out, David Roddy could receive increased playing time against Toronto.
Jan 20, 2025
Solid again off bench
Hunter scored 22 points (7-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), dished one assist and blocked one shot in 30 minutes of action during the 119-110 loss to the Knicks on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Hunter certainly didn't lose his scoring touch during his two-game absence last due to a foot injury last week. The forward is averaging 19 points on 46.4 percent shooting from the field between the two contests since his return. However, he was unable to contribute in other areas of the game Monday, which certainly impacted his fantasy performance, particularly in category leagues. He'll look to deliver a more balanced stat sheet Wednesday against the Pistons.
Jan 19, 2025
Puts up 16 points in return
Hunter (foot) tallied 16 points (6-14 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, two steals and one assist in 32 minutes Saturday in the Hawks' 119-115 overtime win over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Hunter had missed the Hawks' previous two games with left foot soreness, but he operated with no restrictions in his return Saturday, with his 32 minutes off the bench leading all Atlanta reserves. Though Zaccharie Risacher (adductor) looks set to miss additional games, Hunter appears poised to stick in his sixth-man role while Vit Krejci replaces Risacher on the top unit. In any case, Hunter's playing time should remain stable, so he'll continue to make for a useful streaming option for points and three-pointers in 10-team leagues or shallower where he might still be on the waiver wire.
Jan 18, 2025
Suiting up Saturday
Hunter (foot) is available for Saturday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
The Hawks will be close to full strength Saturday for this marquee matchup, as Trae Young (ribs) and Jalen Johnson (shoulder) will be available, too. Hunter will return from a two-game absence and will aim to bounce back from a slow start in January, as he's averaging 14.0 points per game while shooting 35.5 percent from the floor in five contests this month.
Jan 17, 2025
Probable for Saturday
Hunter (foot) is probable for Saturday's game versus Boston.
ANALYSIS
Trae Young (ribs) is also probable, while Jalen Johnson (shoulder) is questionable, so the Hawks could have some reinforcements versus Boston. Hunter missed the past two games for Atlanta, and he'll be looking to find his form after a slow start to January -- he's hitting 35.5 percent from the field over his last five games.
Jan 15, 2025
Sitting out Wednesday
Hunter (foot) will not play Wednesday against the Bulls, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
After Hunter was a late scratch Tuesday against the Suns, he'll end up missing his second straight contest. The Hawks are going to be very shorthanded Wednesday, as Trae Young (ribs), Jalen Johnson (shoulder) and Zaccharie Risacher (shoulder) are also sidelined. Vit Krejci, David Roddy and Garrison Mathews could all be heavily involved Wednesday.
Jan 14, 2025
Late scratch Tuesday
Hunter has been ruled out of Tuesday's game against the Suns due to left foot soreness, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was a late scratch for Tuesday's contest, and his next opportunity to feature will come in Wednesday's game against the Bulls. The 27-year-old has been spectacular off the bench for Atlanta this season, and the club will likely have to rely heavily on Bogdan Bogdanovic and Garrison Mathews in the second unit with Hunter sidelined.
Jan 10, 2025
Shooting woes in defeat
Hunter provided 12 points (3-9 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four assists, three rebounds and two steals across 27 minutes during Thursday's 123-115 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Hunter delivered a poor shooting night, though he did record a season-high four assists. The 27-year-old also racked up two steals, and he has logged multiple steals in three of his last six appearances. The Sixth Man of the Year candidate is on pace for a career-best year, during which he has averaged 19.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.9 steals across a career-low 27.8 minutes per contest in 27 regular-season outings.
Jan 5, 2025
Drops 18 points from bench
Hunter produced 18 points (6-16 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal across 28 minutes during Saturday's 131-105 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Although Hunter plays exclusively with the second unit, he's one of Atlanta's most consistent scorers and has a very dependable floor for fantasy purposes. A 10-game absence earlier in the season took him off the fantasy radar, but he's averaged a reliable 20.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists since his return to action.
Jan 2, 2025
Solid outing in loss Wednesday
Hunter recorded 20 points (7-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), four rebounds, three assists and three steals across 26 minutes during Wednesday's 139-120 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
The sixth-year pro led the Hawks' second unit in points while finishing as the club's second-leading scorer behind Trae Young (30 points). Hunter is on pace to record a career-best year, and he has logged 16 outings with 20 or more points thus far. Over his last 10 outings, the 27-year-old has averaged 22.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.9 steals across 27.6 minutes per contest.
Dec 30, 2024
Stays hot in win
Hunter finished with 22 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists in a blowout win against the Raptors on the road.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has scored 22 points or more in five of his last six games for the Hawks. The 27-year-old continues to be one of the most consistent players for Atlanta this season, as he's carved out a role as the team's sixth man and one of the best players in the NBA in that role.
Dec 26, 2024
Chips in 25 points off bench
Hunter totaled 25 points (6-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 10-10 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 28 minutes during Thursday's 141-133 win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Hunter had another strong performance off the bench Thursday and finished as the Hawks' third-leading scorer behind Jalen Johnson (30) and Trae Young (27). Hunter has thrived in his sixth-man role and is averaging a career-high 20.3 points on 48.5 percent shooting (including 44.0 percent from three on 6.3 3PA/G), 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists over 28.2 minutes per contest.
Dec 20, 2024
Leads charge in Thursday's loss
Hunter supplied a team-high 27 points (9-15 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one steal over 36 minutes off the bench during Thursday's 133-126 overtime loss to the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Four different Hawks scored over 20 points on the night, but it wasn't enough to overcome a massive 42-point performance from Victor Wembanyama. Hunter has been the anchor of Atlanta's second unit since returning from a knee issue in mid-November, scoring at least 20 points in 10 of his last 15 appearances and averaging 20.0 points, 3.8 boards, 2.9 threes and 1.2 assists over that stretch while shooting 45.8 percent from long distance.
Dec 14, 2024
Upgraded to available
Hunter (knee) is available for Saturday's NBA Cup Semifinals game versus the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been upgraded from probable to available Saturday despite continuing to deal with a knee injury. Over his last 10 outings, Hunter is scorching the nets from behind the arc, converting 47.6 percent of his 6.3 three-point attempts per contest.
Dec 13, 2024
Likely for Saturday
Hunter is listed as probable for Saturday's NBA Cup Semifinals game versus the Bucks due to right knee management, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been routinely listed on Atlanta's injury report and playing through it. Given the magnitude of Saturday's game, it seems unlikely the team will err on the side of knee management, but it remains a possibility. The forward tallied 24 points (8-15 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 4-6 FT) and one rebound across 29 minutes during Wednesday's 108-100 Quarterfinals win over the Knicks.
Dec 12, 2024
Strong offensive showing
Hunter registered 24 points (8-15 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 4-6 FT) and one rebound across 29 minutes during Wednesday's 108-100 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter scored at least 20 points for the fifth straight game, continuing his strong offensive season. Despite missing 10 games earlier in the season due to injury, Hunter has been a picture of consistency, something that has eluded him in the past. Across 15 games played, he has averaged a healthy 19.6 points and 2.7 three-pointers per contest.
Dec 11, 2024
Available vs. New York
Hunter (knee) is available for Wednesday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was initially listed as questionable due to right knee injury management. Still, as evidenced by the probable tag he has been carrying since Tuesday, he'll suit up and should handle his regular workload. Hunter will suit for a 12th straight contest, and he's been playing at a high level off the bench in recent weeks. He's scored at least 18 points in seven games in a row, averaging 22.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in that stretch.
Dec 10, 2024
Expected to play Wednesday
Hunter is probable for Wednesday's NBA Cup Quarterfinals matchup against the Knicks, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has appeared in 11 straight games, and it looks like that streak will continue Wednesday. He continues to come off the bench, even with Jalen Johnson (shoulder) sidelined against the Nuggets on Sunday, but Hunter has scored at least 20 points in four straight games, averaging 22.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 28.8 minutes.
Dec 9, 2024
Team-high scoring mark in loss
Hunter registered 20 points (7-20 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and one assist across 24 minutes during Sunday's 141-111 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Despite briefly exiting the contest while he was evaluated for a concussion during the third quarter, Hunter posted a team-high 20 points in the loss. The 27-year-old forward racked up his fourth consecutive 20-plus-point outing during his limited playing time. Hunter has totaled six games with 20 or more points in his last 10 appearances, during which he has averaged 18.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals across 28.3 minutes per game off the bench.
Dec 8, 2024
Leaves for locker room Monday
Hunter (head) went back to the locker room during the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Nuggets, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was hit in the head and stayed down for a significant period of time before walking back to the locker room. The 27-year-old was evaluated for a concussion and has been cleared for a return, per the broadcast. If the clubs opts to sit Hunter the rest of the way, Vit Krejci and Garrison Mathews are candidates for an uptick in playing time the rest of the way.
Dec 8, 2024
Cleared to play Sunday
Hunter (knee) is available for Sunday's game against the Nuggets, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been upgraded from questionable to available and will suit up for an 11th straight game. He's scored at least 20 points off the bench in five of his last six games. Hunter could be in store for even more usage and a crack in the starting lineup for the first time since Oct. 25, as Jalen Johnson (shoulder) and Bogdan Bogdanovic (quadriceps) are out Sunday.
Dec 8, 2024
Iffy Sunday vs. Denver
Hunter is questionable for Sunday's game against the Nuggets due to right knee injury management, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter could be held out of his first game since Nov. 17, in which he was ruled out due to right knee injury management. The sixth-year forward has thrived as the leader of the Hawks' second unit this season, and in his last 10 outings he averaged 19.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals across 28.4 minutes per game. If Hunter is sidelined Sunday, Zaccharie Risacher and Vit Krejci could see an uptick in playing time.
Dec 7, 2024
Big night off bench
Hunter ended with 26 points (9-15 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists and two steals over 34 minutes off the bench during Friday's 134-132 overtime win over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
The 26 points tied his season high, and Hunter is thriving as the leader of the Hawks' second unit. The 27-year-old forward has reached 20 points in five of the last six games, averaging 22.5 points, 3.8 boards, 3.5 threes, 1.3 assists and 0.8 steals in 29.0 minutes a contest over that stretch while shooting 55.7 percent from the floor and a dazzling 52.5 percent (21-for-40) from beyond the arc.
Dec 5, 2024
Scores 20 points off bench
Hunter finished with 20 points (6-13 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five rebounds, two assists and three steals in 28 minutes during Wednesday's 119-104 victory over Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Hunter finished as the Hawks' second-best scorer in this win, even ahead of Trae Young, as he continues to shine in this second-unit role. Hunter has scored at least 20 points in four of his last five appearances and is averaging 18.7 points per game while shooting 40.8 percent from three-point range this season. Both figures are career-high marks for him.
Nov 29, 2024
Team-high 23 points vs. Cavs
Hunter racked up 23 points (7-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five rebounds and three assists across 28 minutes during Friday's 117-101 victory over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter led the Hawks in scoring Friday for a second straight game despite coming off the bench. He has scored at least 20 points in four of his last seven outings, and over that span he has averaged 18.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists over 27.1 minutes per contest.
Nov 27, 2024
Pours in 26 points
Hunter finished with 26 points (9-16 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds and one assist across 30 minutes during Wednesday's 135-124 win over Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Hunter led the Hawks in scoring despite coming off the bench for a sixth straight appearance. Wednesday marked his best scoring performance of the 2024-25 campaign and his third time reaching the 20-point threshold this month. Hunter has proven that he can catch fire from beyond the arc at times, draining three or more triples in three of eight games so far this year.
Nov 19, 2024
Leads Atlanta in scoring Monday
Hunter amassed 24 points (9-15 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one block over 25 minutes during Monday's 109-108 victory over Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Hunter might have played off the bench once again, but he carried the Hawks offensively in this win and led the team in scoring. Hunter has been limited to just four appearances due to an ongoing knee injury, but he's been extremely productive when available and has reached the 20-point mark in three of those contests. He should remain a valuable fantasy option in most formats even if he continues to come off the bench.
Nov 18, 2024
Good to go Monday
Hunter (knee) isn't listed on the Hawks' injury report for Monday's game against the Kings, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Hunter is good to go Monday after missing the first half of the back-to-back set for right knee injury management. On Friday, Hunter made his return from a 10-game absence due to a knee injury and scored 22 points (7-13 FG), in 21 minutes during a win over Washington.
Nov 16, 2024
Not playing Sunday
Hunter is out for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers due to right knee injury management, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter won't play in the first half of a back-to-back set, but since it's purely due to management, he should return for the game against the Kings on Monday. Hunter is averaging 19.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in three appearances (two starts) this season.
Nov 16, 2024
Scores well off bench in return
Hunter (personal/knee) scored 22 points (7-13 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT) and added three rebounds and one assist in 21 minutes off the bench in Friday's 129-117 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was back in action after missing the Hawks' last 10 games due to a right knee injury and then a personal matter. The 26-year-old had started in both of his appearances prior to his recent absence, but the Hawks eased him back into the rotation in a bench role Friday, with rookie No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher retaining his spot on the top unit. While Hunter could eventually reclaim his starting spot, his playing-time upside could be capped by the presence of Risacher as well as the eventual return of Bogdan Bogdanovic (hamstring), who resumed practicing in the G League on Friday and could be cleared for game action with Atlanta at some point during the upcoming week.
Nov 14, 2024
Set to play Friday
Hunter (personal) isn't on the injury report for Friday's game versus the Wizards.
ANALYSIS

Practices Thursday
Hunter (personal) participated in Thursday's practice, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.

Nov 11, 2024
Missing Tuesday's game
Hunter (personal) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Celtics, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been medically cleared to return from right knee inflammation that kept him sidelined for the Hawks' last nine games. However, he will remain away from the team Tuesday due to personal family reasons, and he could be available for Friday's game against the Wizards.
Nov 9, 2024
Another absence coming
Hunter (knee) won't play in Saturday's game versus the Bulls, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.

Nov 7, 2024
Remains sidelined Friday
Hunter (knee) is out for Friday's game versus the Pistons, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter's absence streak will extend to eight games Friday while dealing with right knee inflammation. Zaccharie Risacher should continue to start in his absence. Hunter's next chance to suit up is Saturday's matchup with Chicago.
Nov 6, 2024
Downgraded to out
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will ultimately miss a seventh straight contest due to right knee inflammation, but he appears to be trending in the right direction after initially receiving a questionable tag for Wednesday's game. He was ruled out 24 hours in advance of his other absences. In Hunter's place, rookie No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher has been starting at small forward. Hunter's next chance to suit up will come Friday in Detroit.
Nov 5, 2024
Iffy for Wednesday
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Knicks, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has missed six straight games due to the knee issue, but he'd been previously listed as out 24 hours in advance, so his questionable tag is somewhat encouraging. However, even if cleared to play Wednesday, Hunter will likely face restrictions after a multi-week absence.
Nov 4, 2024
Out again Monday
Hunter (knee) won't play against the Celtics on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will be sidelined for a sixth straight game Monday, and his timetable remains unclear. Look for rookie Zaccharie Risacher to start in Hunter's absence once again.
Nov 2, 2024
Won't play vs. New Orleans
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Pelicans, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will miss his fifth straight game due to a right knee injury. His next opportunity to play will be Monday against the Celtics. Zaccharie Risacher should continue to start while Hunter is sidelined.
Oct 31, 2024
Another absence coming
Hunter (knee) won't play in Friday's game versus the Kings.
ANALYSIS

ANALYSIS
Hunter has missed two straight games due to right knee inflammation but could return to action Wednesday. However, the questionable tag doesn't bring much optimism, as he was also listed as questionable before his two absences. If Hunter is ruled out, rookie No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher should draw another start.
Oct 28, 2024
Won't play vs. Wizards
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Monday's game against Washington, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will miss a second straight game due to right knee inflammation. No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher started for Hunter on Sunday against the Thunder, and the former should reprise that role for Monday's contest. Hunter's next chance at suiting up will be Wednesday against Washington again.
Oct 28, 2024
Listed as questionable
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Monday's game against the Wizards, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter could return to the floor after missing Sunday's game against the Thunder. While Hunter was on the shelf, rookie No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher made his first start and made a very strong impression. Both Hunter and Risacher could potentially see heavy run Monday with Bogdan Bogdanovic (hamstring) and Onyeka Okongwu (rest) sidelined.
Oct 27, 2024
Downgraded to out
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Thunder, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been downgraded from questionable to out due to a minor knee issue and will miss the first game of Atlanta's first back-to-back this season. Iffy for Sunday
Hunter is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Thunder due to right knee inflammation, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is dealing with a minor knee issue, though the Hawks could opt to hold him out of the first game of a back-to-back set. The 26-year-old has accumulated 36 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block across 59 total minutes over two regular-season outings. If Hunter is ruled out, the Hawks will likely take an extended look at Zaccharie Risacher.
Oct 26, 2024
Perfect from charity stripe Friday
Hunter totaled 24 points (7-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 8-8 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and one block across 33 minutes during Friday's 125-120 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was the second-leading scorer for the Hawks on Friday behind All-Star point guard Trae Young (38). Hunter had a subpar shooting effort during Wednesday's win over the Nets, but the 2019 first-round pick was more efficient against Charlotte and connected on all eight of his free-throw attempts. He'll look to build off his strong outing against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder on Sunday.
Oct 23, 2024
Starting Wednesday
Hunter is in the starting lineup for Wednesday season-opening contest versus Brooklyn, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter and Jalen Johnson will occupy the starting forward positions for Atlanta, with top pick Zaccharie Risacher coming off the bench. Hunter has failed to exceed 15 points in three of his last four meetings versus the Nets.
Oct 22, 2024
Not listed on injury report
Hunter (rest) isn't listed on the injury report for Wednesday's regular-season game against the Nets, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS

Oct 17, 2024
Out again Thursday
Hunter (rest) won't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Thunder, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The Hawks have evidently seen enough of Hunter in the preseason, so the team will shut him down for the finale. He should be fresh for Wednesday's regular-season opener Wednesday against the Nets.
Oct 16, 2024
Resting Wednesday
Hunter is a healthy scratch for Wednesday's preseason contest versus Miami, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter's maintenance comes with Atlanta closing a back-to-back versus Oklahoma City on Thursday. Hunter is joined by Zaccharie Risacher and Bogdan Bogdanović as key components of Atlanta's wing rotation that will also be resting Wednesday.
Oct 8, 2024
Starting in preseason opener
Hunter is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's preseason game versus the Pacers, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter started in 37 of his 57 regular-season appearances for Atlanta last season. While Zaccharie Risacher, the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, is expected to be the team's starting small forward once the regular season rolls around, Hunter will get the first starting nod to begin the preseason.
Apr 18, 2024
Unable to find shot
Hunter posted eight points (3-16 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four assists and two rebounds over 42 minutes during Wednesday's 131-116 Play-In Game loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Despite struggling with his shot in April, when Hunter averaged 37.0 percent from the field and an abysmal 24.1 percent from deep, this season was fairly successful for the 26-year-old. Hunter was a consistent part of Atlanta's rotation, starting in 38 of his 57 games and averaging 15.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting a career-high 38.5 percent from deep.
Apr 11, 2024

Apr 10, 2024
Won't play Wednesday
Hunter (rest) is out for Wednesday's game versus the Hornets, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been downgraded from questionable to out on the second night of Atlanta's back-to-back Thursday for rest purposes. The 25-year-old forward should be able to return for Friday's matchup with Minnesota.
Apr 10, 2024
Questionable for Wednesday's game
Hunter is questionable for Wednesday's game against Charlotte due to rest purposes, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter played 47 minutes during Atlanta's double-overtime loss to the Heat on Tuesday, and it's unclear whether he'll be available for the second half of the back-to-back set. If he's sidelined, Garrison Mathews, Wesley Matthews (hamstring) and Bogdan Bogdanovic are candidates to see increased run.
Apr 10, 2024
Scores 23 points in loss Tuesday
Hunter racked up 23 points (10-23 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals in 47 minutes during Tuesday's 117-111 double-overtime loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Even though Hunter needed 23 shots to score 23 points in this double-overtime loss, he still posted a strong stat line while also grabbing double-digit boards for the third time in the campaign. Hunter has started in each of Atlanta's last 11 games and has been excellent over that span, averaging 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 0.6 steals per contest.
Apr 4, 2024
Hits for 26 in Wednesday's win
Hunter chipped in 26 points (11-16 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-3 FT), seven rebounds and four assists over 35 minutes during Wednesday's 121-113 victory over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Making his eighth straight start, Hunter produced his best scoring effort during that stretch, and his best since dropping 27 points in the Jazz on March 15. The fifth-year forward has averaged 17.3 points, 5.6 boards, 2.6 threes and 2.3 assists during his stint in the starting five, and the fact that he held onto his spot even with Jalen Johnson back in his usual role bodes well for Hunter's fantasy value over the final couple weeks.
Mar 31, 2024
Posts 13 points in loss
Hunter produced 13 points (5-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal over 35 minutes during Saturday's 122-113 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Saddiq Bey's (knee) season-ending injury has thrust Hunter into an expanded role, and despite a lukewarm total agains the Bucks, he's responded well to the increased usage. Hunter is averaging averaged 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists after six consecutive starts.
Mar 28, 2024
Solid output in starting role
Hunter finished Thursday's 123-122 overtime victory over Boston with 21 points (8-16 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 0-3 FT), 13 rebounds and one assist across 40 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been starting in recent days and delivered another strong showing, as he's taking advantage of the fact that Jalen Johnson (ankle) and Saddiq Bey (knee) are out, with the latter not returning until next season. Hunter has reached the 20-point mark in three of his last five starts while also doing it in five of his previous eight appearances overall.
Mar 26, 2024
Hosts shot-making clinic
Hunter provided 24 points (8-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds and three assists across 34 minutes during Monday's 120-118 win over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Hunter's scoring repertoire Monday featured on-the-move jumpers and sharp sniping from deep -- including a game-sealing three to put Atlanta up four with nine seconds remaining. Hunter's midrange shot-making isn't inherently conducive to efficient basketball, but he is succeeding at a high level in March, averaging 16.8 points on 45.0/38.2/80.0 percent shooting.
Mar 22, 2024
Delivers 22 points Thursday
Hunter totaled 22 points (5-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 9-10 FT), four rebounds, one assist and two steals over 34 minutes during Thursday's 128-115 loss to Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Getting the start with Jalen Johnson (ankle) unavailable, Hunter reached 20 points for the third time in the last four games, bouncing back from a shaky eight-point effort against the Lakers on Monday. That game was the only one since the All-Star break in which the fifth-year forward failed to score in double digits, and in those 14 contests he's averaging 17.0 points, 3.1 boards, 2.1 threes, 1.4 assists and 0.8 steals in 28.6 minutes a contest.
Mar 21, 2024
Starting against Suns
Hunter will start Thursday's game against the Suns, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jalen Johnson is expected to miss at least a week of action with a right ankle sprain, so Hunter could be looking at a sizable increase in minutes and usage in the short term. Hunter has fared well in March, averaging 16.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.3 three-pointers.
Mar 18, 2024
Impactful from bench with 20 points
Hunter ended with 20 points (8-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one block over 24 minutes during Sunday's 110-93 victory over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter inflicted significant damage in only 24 minutes of play, ending the evening as Atlanta's second-best scoring option. The former first-round pick has filled a variety of roles over his five seasons with the Hawks, but he is currently enjoying his best scoring season as a pro despite battling a number of injuries. The Virginia product is averaging 15.6 points over 43 games.
Mar 16, 2024
Drops 27 against Jazz
Hunter finished with 27 points (10-17 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 32 minutes off the bench during Friday's 124-122 loss to Utah.
ANALYSIS
The five made three-pointers tied his season high as Hunter topped 20 points for only the second time in the last eight games. He hasn't had many ceiling performances lately, but the fifth-year forward has been a consistent contributor from the second unit, scoring in double digits in 16 straight games while averaging 17.5 points, 3.4 boards, 2.4 threes, and 1.3 assists while shooting 50.3 percent from the floor and 45.8 percent from beyond the arc.
Mar 14, 2024
Struggles with shot Wednesday
Hunter accumulated 11 points (4-12 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, one assist, one block and one steal over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 106-102 loss to Portland.
ANALYSIS
Hunter struggled badly from the field and needed 12 shots to score 11 points. Hunter seems set to end the season as a bench option, and even though he's expected to deliver decent scoring figures going forward based on his usage rate with the second unit, it's worth noting the inconsistency of his bench role limits his fantasy upside.
Mar 7, 2024
Puts up 17 points off bench
Hunter logged 17 points (6-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 26 minutes during Wednesday's 112-101 win over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter might have lost his starting role to Saddiq Bey, but he remains a reliable fantasy asset in his new role with the second unit, where he's taken on a more significant role as a scoring weapon off the bench. The numbers back that up, as Hunter has now scored in double digits in his last 12 appearances. Over that span, he's averaging 18.2 points per game while shooting 53.8 percent from the field and an impressive 48.2 percent from three-point range.
Mar 6, 2024
Good to go Wednesday
Hunter (knee) is available for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Hunter has been upgraded from probable to available. The fifth-year forward has averaged 19.1 points on 53/47/86 shooting splits over his last eight appearances.
Mar 6, 2024
Probable for Wednesday
Hunter is probable for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers due to right knee injury management.
ANALYSIS
Wednesday's game is the second leg of a back-to-back set, and Hunter played 25 minutes Tuesday night. Given the probable tag, the Hawks likely want to see how Hunter's knee responds in warmups before giving him the green light.
Feb 28, 2024
Pops for 20 off bench
Hunter ended Tuesday's 124-97 win over Utah with 20 points (6-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 7-9 FT), five rebounds and one block in 28 minutes off the bench.
ANALYSIS
The Hawks need someone else to step up on offense with Trae Young (finger) out of action, and Hunter is responding. The fifth-year forward has scored at least 20 points in four of the last five games, averaging 20.8 points, 5.2 boards, 2.2 threes, 1.0 assists and 0.8 steals during that stretch while shooting 51.7 percent from the floor and 45.8 percent (11-for-24) from beyond the arc.
Feb 26, 2024
Keeps thriving in bench role
Hunter provided 18 points (5-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in 28 minutes during Sunday's 109-92 win over the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Hunter seems to have settled into a bench role, and the veteran forward is playing at a high level despite being a starter throughout most of his career before this season. Hunter, who lost his starting role after going down with a knee injury in late December, has now scored in double digits in each of his last seven games off the bench, averaging 18.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in that stretch.
Feb 24, 2024
Drops 22 off bench Friday
Hunter produced 22 points (8-16 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes off the bench during Friday's 123-121 loss to Toronto.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old forward topped 20 points in his last two games before the All-Star break, and Hunter picked up right where he left off coming out of it. After missing over a month of action due to a knee issue, he appears to be 100 percent again, although the Hawks are still managing his workload. Over his last six contests, Hunter is averaging 19.0 points, 4.0 boards, 2.5 threes and 1.5 assists over 24.5 minutes a game while shooting 52.2 percent from the floor and 48.4 percent (15-for-31) from beyond the arc.
Feb 15, 2024
Impressive off bench Wednesday
Hunter logged 21 points (6-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 7-7 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one steal across 28 minutes during Wednesday's 122-99 loss to the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Hunter seems to have lost his starting role, as Saddiq Bey and Jalen Johnson have been playing as starting forwards, but he's been making a strong case for a bigger role with his recent performances. Despite coming off the bench in each of his appearances since returning to the hardwood on Jan. 30, Hunter is averaging 18.4 points per game over his last five outings while racking up the 20-point mark three times in that span.
Feb 13, 2024
Returns to booming
Hunter recorded 23 points (6-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 7-7 FT), six rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 28 minutes during Monday's 136-126 loss to Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Hunter limped to 2-for-7 shooting from inside the arc Monday, but he nonetheless finished with a productive scoring performance. Hunter is earning a shooting foul on 12.8 percent of his shots this season, which marks a career high for the 26-year-old.
Feb 11, 2024
Off injury report
Hunter is off the injury report ahead of Monday's game against the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Hunter missed Saturday's game due to a right knee issue, but he will return to the lineup after missing just one game. Hunter has averaged 13.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 20.5 minutes per game over his last four appearances.
Feb 10, 2024
Downgraded to out
Hunter (knee) won't play in Saturday's game versus the Rockets, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been downgraded from questionable to out on the second leg of Atlanta's back-to-back Saturday due to right knee injury management. Saddiq Bey, Garrison Matthews and AJ Griffin are candidates to receive increased minutes in his absence. Hunter should be available for Monday's matchup with Chicago.
Feb 10, 2024
Questionable for Saturday
Hunter (knee) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game versus the Rockets, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has suited up in each of Atlanta's last four contests despite dealing with a lingering knee injury. However, the Hawks could opt to play it cautiously with the 25-year-old forward on the second leg of a back-to-back Saturday.
Feb 9, 2024
Good to go against Philadelphia
Hunter (knee) is available for Friday's game versus the 76ers, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been upgraded from probable to available Friday despite dealing with a nagging knee injury. Since returning from his 19-game absence, Hunter is averaging 12.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 18.5 minutes across his four appearances coming off the bench.
Feb 8, 2024
Likely to play Friday
Hunter (knee) is probable for Friday's game versus the 76ers. Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has played through his right knee injury in each of Atlanta's last three contests and is expected to do so yet again on the first leg of the team's back-to-back Friday. Hunter played 23 minutes Wednesday, the most since his return, indicating that his workload should continue to increase.
Feb 7, 2024
Available to play
Hunter (knee) is available for Wednesday's game against the Celtics, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
No surprise here, as Hunter was previously considered probable. He's played 19 or fewer minutes in three straight games, as the Hawks are ramping him up slowly as a precaution.
Feb 6, 2024
Expected to play Wednesday
Hunter (knee) is listed as probable for Wednesday's game versus the Celtics, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter continues to deal with a right knee injury but is expected to play through it Wednesday. The 25-year-old forward has come off the bench and logged 16 and 19 minutes, respectively, in his last two appearances.
Feb 6, 2024
Erupts Monday
Hunter totaled 27 points (10-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds and three assists in 19 minutes during Monday's 149-144 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter matched his season-high scoring performance, doing so in just 19 minutes off the bench Monday. His jumper was pure from the mid-range extended and he looked explosive getting into the lane off the dribble. Hunter could remain on a minutes restriction in Wednesday's game against Boston, but he is trending in the right direction to ramp up.
Feb 5, 2024
Good to go Monday
Hunter (knee) is available for Monday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will shake off a questionable tag and suit up for the third time over Atlanta's past four games. He's been limited to 16 minutes in each of his first two appearances following a month-long absence, so his fantasy upside is capped versus the Clippers.
Feb 4, 2024
Tagged as questionable
Hunter is questionable to play Monday versus the Clippers due to right knee injury management
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been capped at 16 minutes in two appearances since returning from a 19-game absence due to right knee soreness, and Atlanta will certainly exercise caution with the 26-year-old with four games scheduled in the coming week. Saddiq Bey (ankle) is also questionable Monday, making for a tenuous situation on the wings in Atlanta.
Feb 3, 2024
Coming off bench again
Hunter won't start Saturday's game against the Warriors, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
With Saddiq Bey (ankle) ruled out, Hunter was expected to reclaim his starting spot after missing 20 of the Hawks' last 21 games with a knee injury. However, Garrison Matthews will enter the first unit, meaning Hunter will likely have his minutes monitored Saturday.
Feb 3, 2024
Good to go Saturday
Hunter (knee) will play in Saturday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was held out of Friday's game against the Suns after returning from a 19-game absence a few days prior. With Saddiq Bey (ankle) sitting out Saturday, Hunter is expected to draw the start.
Feb 3, 2024
Officially questionable
Hunter (knee) is considered questionable for Saturday's matchup with the Warriors, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter returned from a 19-game absence Tuesday before sitting out Friday's game against the Suns. He is now in danger of missing his second straight following his return. More clarity on his status figures to come after he tests things out closer to game time.
Feb 2, 2024
Won't play Friday
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Following a 19-game absence, Hunter returned to action Tuesday, scoring six points (2-5 3Pt) in 16 minutes. However, he will take a seat again for the first half of a back-to-back set Friday. No setback was reported, so this is presumably a maintenance day, meaning Hunter should be able to play Saturday versus Golden State. Hunter's status for that game will be released Saturday morning.
Feb 1, 2024
Questionable against Phoenix
Hunter (knee) is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Suns, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter returned to action Tuesday but could miss Friday's contest due to a knee injury that forced him to miss 19 games. If Hunter is ruled out, Jalen Johnson, Saddiq Bey and Garrison Matthews are all candidates to receive increased playing time.
Jan 31, 2024
Limited in return
Hunter (knee) played 16 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's 138-122 win over the Lakers, finishing with six points (2-5 FG, 2-5 3Pt), one rebound and one assist.
ANALYSIS
Hunter came off the bench for the first time since the 2021-22 season, with the Hawks deploying him off the second unit in an effort to manage his minutes coming off a 19-game absence due to a non-surgical procedure on his sore right knee. As expected, Hunter was held under 20 minutes in his first game action since Dec. 20, and he could continue to come off the bench for a few more contests while he ramps back up to the typical 30-minute role he held prior to the injury. For the season, Hunter holds averages of 14.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.9 three-pointers, 1.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.4 blocks in 29.7 minutes while shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 90.7 percent from the free-throw line. Because of his deficiencies in multiple categories and lack of standout production in any one area aside from free-throw percentage, Hunter shouldn't be viewed as a must-roster player in 12-team leagues, especially while he likely faces some restrictions with his minutes for the next few games.
Jan 30, 2024
Coming off the bench Tuesday
Hunter isn't in the starting lineup Tuesday and will be under a minutes restriction, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will come off the bench for the first time this season. His minutes restriction is expected to be "in the teens".
Jan 30, 2024
Cleared to suit up
Hunter (knee) is available for Tuesday's game against the Lakers, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter, who needed a non-surgical procedure to alleviate right knee pain, will make his first appearance since Dec. 20. Given the layoff, Hunter may come off the bench and will presumably be monitored closely. In 24 appearances this season, he's averaging 14.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals-plus-blocks in 30.3 minutes.
Jan 30, 2024
Participating in shootaround
Hunter (knee) was active at shootaround Tuesday morning, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter going through game-day motions bodes well for a return, although his status is still uncertain for Tuesday's game against the Lakers. Hunter has been sidelined since Dec. 20 due to right knee inflammation.
Jan 29, 2024
Draws questionable tag
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Lakers, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has missed 19 straight games, but this is the first time he's listed as questionable since undergoing a non-surgical procedure on his right knee at the end of December. If he doesn't make his return Tuesday, Hunter could be available Friday versus Phoenix. However, the fifth-year would presumably have restrictions during his first few games back given the lengthy absence.
Jan 27, 2024
Still sidelined
Hunter (knee) won't play in Sunday's game against the Raptors, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter hasn't suited up in over a month due to right knee inflammation. His next chance to play will come Tuesday against the Lakers.

Jan 20, 2024
Out against Cleveland
Hunter (knee) won't play Saturday against the Cavaliers, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has missed Atlanta's last 13 games due to a right knee injury, and while his return date remains to be determined, he's been ramping up and seems to be trending in the right direction. His next chance to play will come against the Kings on Monday.
Jan 16, 2024
Return remains unclear
Hunter (knee) continues ramping up activity, but he has yet to exceed halfcourt work at practice, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has missed Atlanta's past 12 games as he battles right knee inflammation. Progressing to mini-scrimmages and 5-on-5 activities will eventually be Hunter's next step, although there is currently no timeline for his return.
Jan 9, 2024
Yet to be re-evaluated
Hunter will be re-evaluated this week prior to ramping up physical activity amid recovery from a non-surgical procedure to reduce inflammation in his right knee, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
It was announced on Christmas day that Hunter would be shut down for two weeks to address the inflammation, and his 14-day mark came Monday with no update on his status. He was spotted getting shots up Tuesday and could be activated in the short-term, but the 26-year-old still lacks an estimated return date at this time.
Dec 25, 2023
Out at least two weeks
Hunter will undergo a non-surgical procedure Tuesday to address his right knee inflammation, and he'll be re-evaluated in two weeks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter missed the past two games for Atlanta, and now he'll miss at least six more. With Hunter scheduled to be re-evaluated in two weeks, that means the earliest he could possibly return is Jan. 10 against the 76ers. He's had a strong season so far, posting averages of 14.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.9 three-pointers. Although losing Hunter is a tough blow for Atlanta, the good news is that Jalen Johnson (wrist) could be ready to return as soon as Tuesday's game against the Bulls.
Dec 23, 2023
Out again
Hunter (knee) won't play in Saturday's game against the Grizzlies, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will miss a second consecutive game with knee soreness, something he has been battling over the last couple of weeks. Garrison Mathews, Wesley Matthews and Bogdan Bogdanovic figure to see extended minutes sans Hunter.
Dec 22, 2023
Downgraded to out
Hunter (knee) won't play in Friday's game against the Heat, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was a late addition to the Hawks injury report Friday with right knee soreness. Considering Hunter missed three games with a knee injury earlier this month and Friday's contest is the first of a back-to-back, his absence is likely more of a precaution than an indication of a significant injury. While he's out, expect Garrison Matthews, Wesley Matthews and Bogdan Bogdanovic to handle larger roles.
Dec 22, 2023
Dealing with right knee soreness
Hunter is questionable for Friday's game against the Heat due to right knee soreness, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has appeared in three straight contests after missing a trio of games due to a knee injury. His late addition to the injury report Friday is concerning, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Atlanta hold Hunter out as a precaution. If Hunter is sidelined, Garrison Mathews, Wesley Matthews and Bogdan Bogdanovic would be candidates for increased usage.
Dec 19, 2023
Stuffs stat sheet Monday
Hunter supplied 19 points (7-15 FG, 5-6 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 29 minutes during Monday's 130-124 win over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been dealing with knee soreness over the last few days, though he returned to action Saturday and didn't have any limits, and that was the case Monday as well. He had a strong showing on both ends of the court Monday, and it seems he should continue to handle his regular workload going forward.
Dec 18, 2023
Cleared to play
Hunter (knee) is available for Monday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Hunter returned from a three-game absence Saturday, scoring 18 points in 26 minutes. His questionable tag was likely just precautionary, but Hunter may be limited to fewer than 30 minutes for a couple of games to get his conditioning back.
Dec 17, 2023
Listed as questionable again
Hunter (knee) is listed as questionable to play Monday against Detroit, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter logged a standard workload Saturday versus Cleveland in his return from a three-game absence due to knee soreness, so his inclusion on Sunday's injury report could be mostly precautionary. He joins Clint Capela (knee) and Bogdan Bogdanovic (ankle) as questionable.
Dec 17, 2023
Scores 18 in return
Hunter notched 18 points (5-7 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 6-6 FT), two rebounds and one steal over 26 minutes during Saturday's 127-119 loss to the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter had a brief scare when he banged knees with Max Strus in Saturday's contest, but he continued playing and appears to be no worse for the wear despite just returning from a three-game absence due to right knee soreness. Hunter delivering well-balanced scoring efforts is a swing factor for Atlanta's success, especially while Jalen Johnson (wrist) remains out.
Dec 16, 2023
Available to face Cavaliers
Hunter (knee) is available to face the Cavaliers on Saturday, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The availability of Hunter should provide quite a boost for the Hawks, and he should return to his regular role at small forward. Hunter will return after a three-game absence. He's been on a roll of late, scoring in double digits in eight consecutive games and averaging 18.6 points per game in that span.

Dec 15, 2023
Ruled out for Friday
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Toronto, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was questionable for Friday's matchup will be sidelined for a third consecutive game while dealing with right knee soreness. Wesley Matthews will likely retain his starting role against the Raptors, while it's unclear whether Hunter will be available for the second half of the Hawks' back-to-back set Saturday against Cleveland.
Dec 14, 2023

Dec 12, 2023
Questionable for Wednesday
Hunter (knee) is considered questionable to play Wednesday against Toronto, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter missed his first game of the season Monday against Denver due to right knee soreness. If the 26-year-old can't suit up Wednesday, Wesley Matthews could be in line for another start, although Saddiq Bey logged 40 minutes in Hunter's absence.

Dec 10, 2023
Questionable for Monday
Hunter is questionable for Monday's matchup against the Nuggets due to right quadriceps tendon soreness, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
With Trae Young (illness) sidelined Friday, Hunter scored a team-high 24 points (9-18 FG) in a loss to Philadelphia. However, he's now in danger of missing his first game of the season, while Trae Young is slated to return to action Monday. If Hunter is sidelined, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Wesley Matthews would be candidates for increased roles.
Dec 8, 2023
Leading scorer in loss
Hunter racked up 24 points (9-18 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and one assist over 37 minutes during Friday's 125-114 loss to Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
Hunter led the Hawks in scoring Friday with Trae Young (illness) out for the game, and the former has now scored in double digits in eight straight games. That's Hunter's main contribution to Atlanta and he's managed to play 31-plus minutes in three straight games.
Nov 29, 2023
Leads Atlanta in scoring
Hunter recorded 18 points (5-12 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 7-7 FT), four rebounds and two assists over 26 minutes during Tuesday's 128-105 loss to the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was one of two Atlanta players who scored 18 points in a woeful showing offensively for the Hawks, and while Hunter's final stat line was decent, he had a fair share of struggles from beyond the arc. Hunter was coming off three consecutive outings with 20 or more points before Tuesday, so he is currently going through his most productive scoring stretch of the campaign.
Nov 26, 2023
Notches 24 points
Hunter amassed 24 points (7-14 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 40 minutes during Sunday's 113-103 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is officially hot, scoring at least 20 points in three straight games. In that span, Hunter is posting averages of 23.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.0 blocks and 3.3 three-pointers. With Jalen Johnson out for several weeks due to a wrist injury, Hunter looks ready to take on a larger role for the Hawks.
Nov 25, 2023
Pours in 20 points
Hunter recorded 20 points (7-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds and two steals in 31 minutes during Saturday's 136-108 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been on a mini heater over the past two games, averaging 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 1.5 steals and 2.5 three-pointers while shooting 55.5 percent from the field. Jalen Johnson suffered a wrist injury Saturday and it's unclear if he'll miss time, so the Hawks may need Hunter to continue providing more offensive firepower.
Nov 23, 2023
Big double-double against Nets
Hunter finished with 25 points (8-16 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 7-7 FT), 11 rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 39 minutes during Wednesday's 147-145 overtime victory over Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
It's the first double-double of the season for Hunter, and it came along with his best scoring effort since he dropped 27 on the Knicks back on Oct. 27. The 25-year-old had scored in single digits in three straight games coming into Wednesday, however, and that inconsistency comes with the territory as a secondary option in an offense dominated by Trae Young and Dejounte Murray.
Nov 17, 2023
Ejected Friday
Hunter was ejected from Friday's game against the 76ers with two technical fouls in the second quarter. He finished with nine points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt) and one rebound in 18 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was unhappy with the officiating and let his emotions get the best of him. He'll be back in action Tuesday against the Pacers. Bogdan Bogdanovic and Saddiq Bey will pick up most of the slack in the second half.
Nov 16, 2023
Limited production in defeat
Hunter ended with five points (2-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist across 26 minutes during Wednesday's 116-114 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter scored 15-plus points in four of his first five appearances of the season but has been much more inconsistent since then, as he's scored in double figures in just three of his last six outings while also struggling to generate consistency in secondary categories. Over his last six appearances, he's averaged 9.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 31.0 minutes per game.
Nov 15, 2023
Solid in win
Hunter contributed 16 points (6-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, five assists and one steal over 35 minutes during Tuesday's 126-120 win over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Despite seeing a consistent workload, Hunter was averaging just 8.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in his last four contests. With Trae Young (personal) out Tuesday, Hunter received a bump in usage while also matching his career high with five assists. The 25-year-old is an important piece of Atlanta's lineups, but his contributions are rarely flashy.
Nov 7, 2023
Struggles against Thunder
Hunter notched eight points (2-13 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and two rebounds over 33 minutes during Monday's 126-117 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
This was Hunter's second dud in a row, as he was held to four points in 30 minutes against the Pelicans on Saturday. However, he's been pretty solid overall this season, averaging 14.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.9 three-pointers.
Nov 4, 2023
Returns to bench
Hunter (hand) returned to the bench Saturday against the Pelicans, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter left the game in the first quarter, but it seems the issue was not severe enough to rule him out for the rest of the contest.
Nov 4, 2023
Heads to locker room
Hunter headed to the locker room in the first quarter of Saturday's game against the Pelicans due to an apparent right hand injury, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter tried to dribble through CJ McCollum and got picked off, but he immediately grabbed his hand and looked in pain, to the point that he went straight to the locker room holding his hand. If he can't return, then AJ Griffin and Bogdan Bogdanovic would be in line to see extra minutes.
Oct 28, 2023
Scores team-high 27 points
Hunter amassed 27 points (8-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 8-8 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one block across 32 minutes during Friday's 126-120 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Trae Young struggled from the field and Dejounte Murray didn't have his best performance, so Hunter stepped his game up and led Atlanta in scoring despite the tight defeat against New York. Hunter also bounced back from a subpar season-opening performance against the Celtics where he scored just nine points across 31 minutes. Don't expect Hunter to lead the Hawks offensively going forward, but he's closer to this 27-point performer than to the nine-point player that struggled massively against Boston.
Oct 17, 2023
Puts up 16 points Monday
Hunter posted 16 points (4-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 7-9 FT) and three rebounds across 20 minutes in Monday's 116-112 preseason loss to the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter scored nearly half of his points from the charity stripe and didn't do much else, but he's simply trying to finish the preseason in the best possible shape. He's pretty much locked in to open the 2023-24 season as the starting small forward.
Oct 16, 2023
Returning to action
Hunter (knee) is in the starting lineup for Monday's preseason game against Indiana, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is set to make his preseason debut after missing Atlanta's previous two contests due to a bone bruise in his knee. He could be in line for extra usage with Trae Young and Dejounte Murray both resting.
Oct 14, 2023
Will remain sidelined
Hunter (knee) will again be sidelined for Saturday's tilt against the Pelicans, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter's absence will mark his third straight exhibition game missed due to a knee issue. There has been no news leading to the belief that it is anything to worry about long term, so it looks like the Hawks are just erring on the side of caution during the preseason.
Oct 12, 2023
Sitting out Thursday
Hunter (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Thursday's preseason game against the Pelicans, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will be unavailable for a second consecutive game to begin the preseason, and coach Quin Snyder revealed Thursday that the small forward is dealing with a bone bruise. Hunter's next chance to make his preseason debut will be Saturday against the Pelicans.
Oct 10, 2023
Unlikely to play Tuesday
Hunter isn't expected to play in Tuesday's preseason opener against the Cavaliers, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter's exclusion from the starting lineup is a good sign he will be absent from Tuesday's contest, but there is no indication he has suffered a serious injury. Hunter's next chance to suit up is Thursday's preseason matchup with Memphis.
Apr 24, 2023
Efficient shooting in Game 4 loss
Hunter amassed 27 points (11-17 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 40 minutes during Sunday's 129-121 loss to the Celtics in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
Hunter scored his most points of the opening-round series thanks to an efficient shooting night and finished second on the team in scoring behind Trae Young (35). The Virginia product also grabbed seven boards, tying him for second on the team with Clint Capela. Through four playoff matchups versus Boston, Hunter has averaged 16.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 35.8 minutes per game.
Apr 18, 2023
Top rebounder in double-double
Hunter had 18 points (8-19 FG, 2-9 3Pt), 12 rebounds and three assists across 38 minutes during Tuesday's 119-106 loss to the Celtics in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
Hunter led all Hawks players in rebounds while finishing as the lone player with a double-digit total in the category en route to a double-double outing. Hunter hauled in 10 or more rebounds once during the regular season, his lone double-double showing of the year on Nov. 23 against Sacramento.
Apr 9, 2023
Good to go Sunday
Hunter (knee) is available for Sunday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Hunter has been upgraded from probable to available and will suit up Sunday. He posted 14 points in 27 minutes during Friday's loss to Philadelphia, which was his first contest back following a four-game absence.
Apr 8, 2023
Probable for Sunday
Hunter is probable for Sunday's game against the Celtics due to left knee soreness.
ANALYSIS
The Hawks are expected to rest most of their regulars for the regular-season finale after being set to play in the Play-In Tournament against the Heat next Tuesday, but Hunter could end up seeing minutes either way. Hunter is averaging 14.6 points per game across 14 March appearances.
Apr 8, 2023
Scores 14 in return
Hunter (knee) posted 14 points (6-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal across 27 minutes in Friday's 136-131 overtime loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter took back his spot in the starting five following a four-game absence due to a left knee injury, but he was eased back into the mix somewhat with a workload five minutes lower than his season-long average of 32.0 minutes per contest. The Hawks are locked in as the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference regardless of how the final two days of the regular season play out, so Hunter and some of Atlanta's other key regulars could rest or see reduced minutes in Sunday's finale at Boston before the team travels to Miami on Tuesday to play its first game of the Play-In Tournament.
Apr 7, 2023
Will play Friday
Hunter (knee) is available for Friday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been upgraded from questionable to available and will suit up for the first time following a four-game injury absence. The fourth-year forward may be a bit limited during his return, but it's an encouraging sign to see him playing again ahead of postseason play.
Apr 6, 2023
Questionable Friday
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Friday's game against the 76ers, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has missed the last four games due to a bone bruise and muscle strain in his left knee, and it's unclear whether he'll be available for the penultimate game of the regular season. If he's sidelined again, Saddiq Bey will likely remain in the starting lineup.
Apr 5, 2023
Remains out Wednesday
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against Washington.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is slated to miss a fourth straight game due to a bone bruise and muscle strain in his left knee. In his absence, Saddiq Bey figures to remain in the starting lineup, while Hunter's next chance to suit up will come Friday against the 76ers.
Apr 3, 2023
Will sit again Tuesday
Hunter (knee) will not play in Tuesday's game at Chicago, KL Chouinard of Hawks.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will miss a third straight game as he continues to deal with a bone bruise and muscle strain in his left knee. The Hawks are entering the front end of a back-to-back set, so there's a good chance Hunter will also miss Wednesday's game against the Wizards. Thus far, trade deadline addition Saddiq Bey has started both games Hunter has missed.
Apr 1, 2023
Dealing with bone bruise and strain
Hunter will not play in Sunday's game against the Mavericks and is day-to-day moving forward after an MRI revealed he has a bone bruise in his left knee and a muscle strain, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has had lingering issues with his left knee that forced him to miss two of the last four games. Further testing revealed a bone bruise and strain in the area, which could keep him sidelined for another game or two. After being ruled out for Sunday's game, Hunter's next chance to suit up would come on Tuesday in Chicago. However, the matchup is the first of a back-to-back, so the Hawks could hold him out of the contest. While he's out, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Saddiq Bey and AJ Griffin are likely to see more minutes but it's unclear who will take Hunter's starting spot.
Mar 31, 2023
Downgraded to out
Hunter (knee) is out for Friday's game against the Nets, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will be sidelined for the second time over Atlanta's past four contests while dealing with some swelling in his knee. In his absence, Saddiq Bey, AJ Griffin, Jalen Johnson and Bogdan Bogdanovic are all candidates for increased roles. Hunter's next chance to suit up will come Sunday against the Mavericks.
Mar 30, 2023
Questionable Friday
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Friday's game against Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Hunter continues to deal with a left knee issue, but he's been able to suit up in the last two matchups. It's unclear whether he'll be available for Friday's matchup, but if he's sidelined, Saddiq Bey should see increased run.
Mar 29, 2023
Struggles with shot in win
Hunter notched seven points (3-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and six rebounds over 39 minutes during Tuesday's 120-118 victory over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter failed to score in double figures for the first time since Feb. 26 and and notched his lowest-scoring game since Feb. 3. The length of Cleveland's defense appears to have given Hunter trouble, but it's safe to call Tuesday's outing an outlier, as the fourth-year forward has averaged 15.2 points on 47.1 percent shooting over his past 13 appearances.
Mar 26, 2023
Upgraded to available
Hunter (knee) is available for Sunday's game against the Grizzlies, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter missed the first half of Atlanta's back-to-back set due to a left knee contusion, but he's been cleared to suit up Sunday. Before his absence, Hunter had scored in double figures in 12 straight games, posting 15.0 points and 3.8 rebounds in 32.6 minutes during that stretch.
Mar 26, 2023
Questionable Sunday
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Hunter sat out Saturday's game due to his knee issue, which resulted in Bogdan Bogdanovic (knee) getting a spot start, but Bogdanovic is also questionable for Sunday's game. If both of these guys are forced to the sidelines, that would likely open up minutes for Saddiq Bey and AJ Griffin, with Bey being the preferable target. Stay tuned.
Mar 25, 2023
Ruled out Saturday
Hunter (knee) will not play in Saturday's game against the Pacers, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will miss his first contest in two months with a bruised left knee. His absence will likely open up a starting spot for one of Saddiq Bey, AJ Griffin or Bogdan Bogdanovic while all three could see expanded roles. Hunter's next chance to play will come Sunday against Memphis.
Mar 24, 2023
Questionable against Indiana
Hunter is questionable for Saturday's game versus the Pacers due to a left knee contusion, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is in danger of missing his first game since Jan. 25 on Saturday. If the 24-year-old forward is forced to sit, Saddiq bey, Aj Griffin and Bogdan Bogdanovic would be candidates to see increased minutes.
Mar 11, 2023
Available to play Saturday
Hunter (ankle) is available Saturday against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
His status wasn't in any real doubt, as he was carrying a probable tag prior to this update. Hunter has been playing a ton of minutes lately, clearing 30 minutes in his last six games.
Mar 11, 2023
Iffy for Saturday
Hunter is questionable for Saturday's game against the Celtics with a sprained right ankle, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is at risk of missing his first game since Jan. 25 with a right ankle sprain after logging 35 or more minutes in two of his last three appearances. With Bogdan Bogdanovic (back) already ruled out, Saddiq Bey, AJ Griffin and Garrison Matthews could be thrust into larger roles if Hunter also sits.
Mar 11, 2023
Drops 18 points in win
Hunter had 18 points (7-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds, one block and one steal in 35 minutes during Friday's 114-107 victory over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Hunter had himself a nice game Friday, scoring an efficient 18 points to go with a pair of defensive stats. This is about all you can hope for when rostering Hunter, a player known for his lack of diversity when it comes to fantasy production. While he isn't out of place in a 12-team league, he should be viewed as more of a streaming option as opposed to a long-term asset.
Mar 4, 2023
Nice offensive performance in win
Hunter logged 17 points (7-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds and one assist over 32 minutes during Friday's 129-111 victory over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter had a solid night scoring the ball, while adding little else. With so many mouths to feed on this Atlanta team, the fourth-year forward's scoring ceiling is always a bit limited, so usually he needs to add more value in other categories to remain fantasy-relevant and he really hasn't been doing that as much this year. So, while he is averaging a career-high 15.6 points per game this season, he's also averaging a career low in steals (0.5), and he rarely adds much in blocks or assists.
Feb 16, 2023
Pops for 20 in loss
Hunter provided 20 points (9-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two blocks over 28 minutes during Wednesday's 122-101 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year forward heads into the All-Star break on a bit of a heater, having scored at least 20 points in three straight games. Hunter remains a solid complementary presence in the Atlanta offense, and in the last 10 games he's averaging 16.2 points, 4.7 boards, 1.8 assists, 1.4 threes and 1.0 steals.
Feb 15, 2023
Available Wednesday
Hunter (ankle) is available for Wednesday's matchup against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will power through right ankle soreness to appear in the Hawks' final game before the All-Star break. The forward has appeared in nine straight games, averaging 15.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals in 33.2 minutes.
Feb 14, 2023
Probable vs. Knicks
Hunter is probable for Wednesday's tilt against the Knicks due to right ankle soreness.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is dealing with ankle pain following his 21-point, seven-rebound performance in Monday's win over the Hornets, but he doesn't appear to be at real risk of missing Wednesday's game. The forward has appeared in nine straight games, averaging 15.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals in 33.2 minutes.
Feb 12, 2023
Efficient from field Saturday
Hunter ended Saturday's 125-106 win over San Antonio with 24 points (8-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-9 FT), five rebounds, one assist and three steals across 33 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was one of several Hawks that dazzled against the Spurs, and he was remarkably efficient from the field en route to his third game with at least 20 points in the current month. Hunter is still prone to having some down games from time to time, but he seems to be finding some momentum heading into the All-Star break. He's averaging 16.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game over his last 10 contests.
Feb 4, 2023
Pours in 26 points
Hunter closed Friday's 115-108 win over the Jazz with 26 points (10-15 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal over 36 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Hunter drilled 66.7 percent of his attempts from the field and finished second on the Hawks with 26 points. He also registered a steal for his fourth straight contest. Friday marked Hunter's best scoring performance through 43 appearances.
Jan 27, 2023
Not on injury report
Hunter (illness) is off the injury report for Saturday's matchup against the Clippers, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will return following a two-game absence, which should push Bogdan Bogdanovic back to the bench. In January, Hunter is averaging 18.0 points on 50/42/84 shooting, 4.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 34.5 minutes.
Jan 27, 2023
Practices Friday
Hunter (illness) participated in practice Friday, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has missed the last two games due to an illness but is feeling better Friday. However, the Hawks will see how he feels Saturday before determining his status for the team's matchup against the Clippers that day.
Jan 25, 2023
Out again
Hunter (illness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup against the Thunder, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will miss a second straight game due to an illness. His next chance to suit up will come Saturday against the Clippers. In his absence, Bogdan Bogdanovic figures to draw another start.
Jan 24, 2023
Questionable Wednesday
Hunter (illness) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Thunder, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter sat out Monday's loss to the Bulls, prompting Bogdan Bogdanovic to join the starters. Hunter doesn't provide many supplementary stats, but he's been a fairly reliable scorer. He's scored in double digits across the past 11 games, averaging 18.0 points on 50/42/84 shooting, 4.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists during this stretch.
Jan 23, 2023
Out vs. Chicago
Hunter has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Bulls due to acute asthma symptoms, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter wasn't listed on the injury report leading up to tipoff, so this appears to be a last-minute flare-up for the Virginia product. AJ Griffin and Bogdan Bogdanovic are two potential replacements for Hunter in the starting five.
Jan 22, 2023
Ties season high in scoring
Hunter finished with 25 points (10-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds and two assists in 37 minutes during Saturday's 122-118 loss to the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Hunter matched his season high in scoring and continued his run of excellent shooting performances. Following a 4-for-14 showing from the floor in a Jan. 11 loss to the Bucks, Hunter has averaged 17.8 points on 54.2 percent shooting from the field, 92.9 percent shooting from the free-throw line and 48.5 percent shooting from the downtown. However, aside from the efficient scoring production, Hunter isn't providing much else in other areas, making him nothing but a low-end roster option in 12-team category leagues.
Jan 21, 2023
Efficient in victory
Hunter finished with 20 points (7-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal across 31 minutes during Friday's 139-124 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has scored in double digits in 10 straight games, averaging 17.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists on 48/42/83 shooting. He's mostly a source of points and threes for fantasy managers, but his secure role means he's worth rostering in many formats.
Jan 14, 2023
Drains six threes in win
Hunter finished Friday's 113-111 win over the Pacers with 25 points (8-16 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and one assist in 34 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was efficient from the field and deadly from three-point range, as he made a season-high en route to tying his season-best scoring mark. The former Virginia standout has surpassed the 15-point mark in each of his six January outings this season and is settling as Atlanta's second-best offensive threat even ahead of Dejounte Murray based on his recent performances. He's averaging 19.3 points per game in six January contests.
Jan 12, 2023
Struggles from field in loss
Hunter logged 16 points (4-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-8 FT), nine rebounds and two assists in 37 minutes during Wednesday's 114-105 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter had a dreadful first half shooting the ball, going just 1-of-8 from the field with two points as the Hawks dug themselves in an early hole. He picked things up after the break with nine third-quarter points on 3-of-5 shooting to go along with four rebounds before knocking down five of six free-throws in the final period. The small forward finished second on the team in scoring with 16 points while also tying Onyeka Okongwu for the team lead in rebounds with nine. Hunter has now scored at least 15 points in five straight, though his 28.6 percent field goal percentage Wednesday marked his second-worst shooting performance of the season.
Jan 9, 2023
Keeps production going in win
Hunter had 20 points (8-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, two assists and two steals over 35 minutes during Sunday's 112-108 victory over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has swung back into fantasy relevancy with four strong games after his three-game absence. He's averaged 18.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists over the recent span. His four-game average of 36.5 minutes per game indicates that he will continue to be heavily involved in the offense.
Jan 7, 2023
Continues consistent scoring
Hunter accumulated 16 points (5-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-6 FT) and eight rebounds over 37 minutes during Friday's 130-114 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter tied for second on the Hawks with 16 points in Friday's loss, finishing with double-digit scoring for the third straight game. The fourth-year forward has hit that mark 28 times in his 31 contests this season, helping him average a career-best 15.3 points per game. Hunter's other stats -- 4.3 boards, 1.2 assists, 1.5 triples and 0.5 steals per contest -- aren't massive, but he's shooting a steady 45.0 percent from the field an 80.7 percent from the charity stripe, giving him low-end value in standard 12-team fantasy leagues.
Jan 3, 2023
Returns with 17 points
Hunter (ankle) closed Monday's 143-141 double-overtime loss to Golden State with 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals over 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Hunter returned from a three-game absence due to an ankle injury and didn't appear limited at all as he played 38 minutes during the double-overtime loss. He had a solid offensive night and finished as one of six Hawks players in double figures, but his defensive prowess was on full display, notching multiple steals and blocks in the same game for the first time this season. Barring any residual effects from his heavy minutes Monday, Hunter should be in store for his typical workload against the Kings on Wednesday.
Jan 2, 2023
Cleared to play
Hunter (ankle) will be available to play Monday night against Golden State, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has missed his team's last three contests while on the mend from a left ankle sprain, but he's been given the green light to play Monday night. The Virginia product had scored in double figures in six of his last seven appearances prior to going down with the ankle issue.
Jan 1, 2023
Questionable for Monday
Hunter (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday's game at Golden State, Brad Rowland of Locked On Hawks reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has missed the last three games while battling a sprained left ankle, but the Hawks are hoping that he may be able to return for their first of four games in the week ahead. If Hunter ends up sitting out again, rookie AJ Griffin is the top candidate to make another start in his place.

Dec 27, 2022
Sitting out Tuesday
Hunter (ankle) will not take the floor Tuesday versus the Pacers, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter's appearance in shootaround Tuesday morning provided some optimism he would be able to suit up during the evening, but it appears he will be forced to miss his sixth contest of the season due to a sprained left ankle. Hunter's absence likely opens the door for AJ Griffin and Trent Forrest, among others, to pick up additional minutes. Hunter won't have to wait long for his next opportunity to suit up Wednesday versus the Nets.
Dec 27, 2022
Goes through shootaround
Hunter (ankle) participated in the Hawks' morning shootaround ahead of Tuesday's contest against the Pacers, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter remains questionable with a sprained left ankle, but his participation in shootaround is certainly an encouraging development. The fourth-year forward suffered the injury during the first half of Friday's win over Detroit, but he was back on the court to start the third quarter and finished with nine points, five rebounds and one steal in 27 minutes.
Dec 26, 2022

ANALYSIS

Dec 15, 2022
Leading scorer against Magic
Hunter ended Wednesday's 135-124 loss to the Magic with a team-high 25 points (6-14 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 9-10 FT), six rebounds and three assists in 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The Hawks came out very flat, losing the first quarter 50-22, and while Hunter led the comeback attempt from there his efforts weren't enough to close the gap. The fourth-year forward has been productive since returning from a four-game absence due to a hip strain, and over the last three contests he's averaging 20.0 points, 3.3 boards, 2.7 threes and 1.7 assists.
Dec 12, 2022
Hits seven shots in return
Hunter (hip) finished with 16 points (7-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes in Sunday's 123-122 overtime win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Back in action after a four-game absence due to a right hip strain, Hunter appeared to be on a minute restriction, given that he started but didn't play the overtime period despite not dealing with any foul trouble. The Hawks could look to hold Hunter out of the second half of the back-to-back set Monday in Memphis (or limit his minutes if he plays), but the 25-year-old forward shouldn't face any major restrictions in the games that follow.
Dec 11, 2022
Will be available Sunday
Hunter (hip) is available for Sunday's matchup against Chicago, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has missed four straight games and was initially deemed questionable for Sunday's matchup due to hip injury. Dec 10, 2022
Nabs questionable designation
Hunter (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Bulls, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter held a questionable tag for Friday's game versus the Nets as well before being ruled out, so his designation doesn't reveal much regarding his chances to suit up. The Hawks should clarify his status before the opening tip Sunday evening.
Dec 9, 2022

Dec 8, 2022
Nabs questionable tag Friday
Hunter (hip) is questionable to play in Friday's game against the Nets, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter could return for Friday's game after missing the last three games with a right hip flexor strain. Hunter will likely replace AJ Griffin in the starting lineup when he retakes the court. The 24-year-old forward was able to practice in a limited capacity Thursday, so he is likely to return soon, if not Friday.
Dec 8, 2022
Limited in practice Thursday
Hunter (hip) wasn't a full participant in Thursday's practice, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has missed the last three games due to a right hip flexor strain. Hunter's status for Friday's game against the Nets is still uncertain.
Dec 1, 2022
Out for at least a week
Hunter will miss at least a week due to a right hip flexor strain.
ANALYSIS
Hunter played for only seven minutes against Orlando on Wednesday before suffering his injury. The forward got an MRI on Thursday and the Hawks confirmed Hunter will miss at least the next week of action. The injury will force the 25-year-old to miss Atlanta's matchups against Denver, Oklahoma City and New York. With John Collins (ankle) also set to miss time, expect Jarrett Culver and Vit Krejci to see an increase in minutes.
Dec 1, 2022
Sidelined Friday
Hunter (thigh) won't play in Friday's game versus the Nuggets due to a right hip flexor strain, Brad Rowland of Locked on Hawks reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter logged just seven minutes in Wednesday's game versus the Magic before leaving. Depending on the severity of the issue, Hunter could be looking at some additional games on the sidelines as well. However, no official timetable has been placed on his return at this juncture. Jarrett Culver and Vit Rejci both saw notable upticks in minutes after Hunter and John Collins (ankle) -- who is also out Friday -- left the game and could see expanded run again versus Denver.
Nov 30, 2022

Hunter (thigh) won't return to Wednesday's contest against Orlando, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.

Nov 30, 2022
Questionable against Orlando

Nov 28, 2022
Active Monday
Hunter (foot) is active for Monday's contest against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
The Virginia product popped up on the injury report, but will officially be available for Monday's contest against Philadelphia. Hunter is averaging 15.4 points 4.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists across 31.9 minutes per game throughout the start of his season.
Nov 28, 2022
Added to injury report
Hunter is questionable for Monday's matchup with the 76ers due to left foot soreness, Brad Rowland of Locked on Hawks reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter must have picked up the injury in Sunday's game given the fact that he played 35 minutes in the contest. Considering Monday is the second leg of a back-to-back set, the Hawks could opt to play it safe with Hunter. In Hunter's only absence this season, AJ Griffin entered the starting lineup. logging 36 minutes and 17 points and would likely be in line for a similar workload if Hunter sits against Philadelphia.
Nov 27, 2022
Gets back on track
Hunter ended with 18 points (6-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 35 minutes during Sunday's 106-98 loss to Miami.
ANALYSIS
Hunter returned to form in Sunday's matchup after struggling to eight points on 3-for-12 shooting in his previous appearance Friday in Houston. He managed to contribute across the board in the loss, notching his first two-steal performance of the season. Hunter is averaging 15.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists through 19 games.
Nov 26, 2022
Struggles in loss
Hunter recorded just eight points (3-12 FG, 0-6 3PT, 2-2 FT) and five rebounds in Friday's 128-122 loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Hunter's eight points were a season-low and the first time he has scored in single digits this season. It is also just the third game he was unable to connect from beyond the arc. He look to bounce back from the off-night when the Hawks play the Heat on Sunday.
Nov 24, 2022
Grabs first double-double
Hunter contributed 13 points (5-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 34 minutes during Wednesday's 115-106 victory over Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Hunter got off to a solid start offensively with six points in the first quarter on 3-of-5 shooting before going a combined 0-for-3 from the field over the next two quarters. He chipped in another five points on 2-of-4 shooting in the fourth while also recording five of his season-high 10 rebounds in the final quarter as the Hawks closed out Sacramento. It was Hunter's first double-double of the season and the first time he's recorded more than six rebounds.
Nov 23, 2022
Playing Wednesday
Hunter (illness) is available for Wednesday's game against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Hunter is returning following a one-game absence, presumably pushing AJ Griffin back to the bench. Hunter has scored in double digits in every game this season.
Nov 22, 2022
Probable for Wednesday
Hunter (illness) is probable for Wednesday's game against the Kings, Brad Rowland of Locked on Hawks reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was sidelined Monday due to a non-COVID illness, but it appears he's on track to return Wednesday. Across 16 appearances, the fourth-year forward has averaged 15.9 points and 3.9 rebounds in 31.2 minutes per game.
Nov 21, 2022
Won't play Monday
Hunter (illness) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Cavaliers, Spencer Davies of BasketballNews.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was a late addition to Monday's injury report due to a non-COVID illness, and he'll be unable to suit up against Cleveland. AJ Griffin, Justin Holiday and Jalen Johnson will likely see increased run Monday.
Nov 21, 2022
Late addition to injury report
Hunter is questionable for Monday's game against the Cavaliers due to a non-COVID illness, Lauren L. Williams of MLive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was a late addition to the injury report due to an illness and is now questionable for Monday's contest. If the fourth-year forward misses his first game of the season, AJ Griffin, Justin Holiday and Jalen Johnson would be candidates for increased roles.
Nov 15, 2022
Posts season-high 24 points
Hunter finished with 24 points (6-15 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 10-10 FT), three rebounds and two assists in 35 minutes during Monday's 121-106 win over the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter's 6-for-15 shooting mark was nothing special, but he converted all 10 of his free-throw tries en route to a season-high point total. The forward didn't produce much else in terms of complementary stats, which has been par for the course this season. Hunter has recorded double-digit points in all 14 of Atlanta's games but has yet to exceed six boards, four assists or one steal in a contest thus far.
Nov 12, 2022
Scores empty 15 points in loss
Hunter closed with 15 points (4-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 7-8 FT) and four rebounds over 27 minutes during Saturday's 121-109 loss to Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has scored in double-digits in every game this season and yet, sits outside the top 250 in 12-team leagues. While the point production is nice, his inability to contribute elsewhere drags down his overall appeal. He is still rostered in a number of leagues, something that should not be the case. At best, he should be viewed as a reliable streaming asset.
Nov 10, 2022
Ties season-high with 22 points
Hunter totaled 22 points (9-15 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and one steal in 33 minutes during Wednesday's 125-119 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Hunter scored nine of his 22 points in the fourth quarter on 4-of-6 shooting from the field while also recording a steal off Jordan Clarkson midway through the period to help bring the Hawks back within two. Despite Hunter's solid play down the stretch, Atlanta saw their three-game winning streak come to an end after allowing Utah to score 40 points in the final quarter and overtake the lead. It was only the third time this season that Hunter reached the 20-point mark, and the second time in his last four games.
Nov 3, 2022
Struggles to find shot
Hunter racked up 21 points (9-21 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-3 FT), three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 112-99 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter turned in his second-best scoring performance of the young campaign, but he also attempted his most field goals of the year. Despite a rough night from the field, he did manage to record his first block of the season, a category he hasn't traditionally contributed in. Hunter averaged just 0.4 blocks over 53 games during the 2021-22 season.
Oct 27, 2022
Drops 17 points in win
Hunter fouled out of Wednesday's 118-113 win over the Pistons after recording 17 points (7-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-3 FT), three rebounds and one assist in 27 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Hunter shot the ball well in the win, continuing what has been a solid offensive start to the season. Unfortunately, as is often the case with Hunter, he failed to add anything of note to his stat sheet. While he can certainly be classed as an above-average wing defender, his efforts do not typically translate well when it comes to fantasy value. He is fine to have on a 12-team roster but given what we have seen in the past, he is better suited as a streamer.
Oct 17, 2022
Agrees to extension with Hawks
Hunter and the Hawks agreed on a four-year, $95 million contract extension on Monday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old forward and Atlanta were able to agree upon a deal just before the contract extension deadline. Hunter has averaged 13.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game over the course of his first three seasons with the Hawks. With the Virginia product's contract situation officially taken care of, Hunter and the Hawks can now focus all their attention on Wednesday's regular season opener against the Rockets.
Oct 8, 2022
Pours in 21 points Saturday
Hunter ended with 21 points (9-13 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound and one steal in 31 minutes during Saturday's 118-109 win over the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter stepped things up on offense, something the coaching staff will be hoping he can do with more regularity this season. Despite a few flashes over the past couple of seasons, Hunter is yet to establish himself as a must-roster fantasy asset. His proven ability on the defensive end is often offset by a lack of efficient scoring. If he can finally put it all together this season, he could certainly be a name to consider.
Apr 26, 2022
Can't carry Hawks to victory
Hunter fouled out of Tuesday's 97-94 loss to the Heat after recording 35 points (11-21 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 10-11 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists and three steals across 43 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Hunter's 35 points represented both a regular-season and playoff career high, though arguably the most impactful performance of his career couldn't end in a Hawks victory, and Atlanta's season came to a close in a 4-1 series defeat to the Heat. His regular season had its ups and downs, but the third-year wing scored at least 14 points in each playoff game and combined for 59 points across Games 4 and 5. Hunter will hope to enter a crucial fourth season completely healthy in hopes of continuing his development.
Apr 25, 2022
Leads Hawks with 24 points
Hunter registered 24 points (9-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds and one assist across 30 minutes during Sunday's 110-86 loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was one of the few bright spots for Atlanta, which got only nine points from Trae Young and shot just 40.0 percent from the field while committing 15 turnovers. Hunter's 24 points marked a new postseason career high and extended his double-digit scoring streak to seven straight games.
Apr 23, 2022
Scores 17 points in win
Hunter closed with 17 points (7-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT) in 32 minutes during Friday's 111-110 win over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Hunter didn't contribute in any other category, but his scoring figures were enough to make an impact as Atlanta pulled one back in the series against the Heat. The two-way forward is averaging 15.7 points per game while shooting 52.8 percent from the field in the series.
Apr 11, 2022
Pours in 22 points
Hunter supplied 22 points (7-13 FG, 4-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT) and two rebounds over 33 minutes during Sunday's 130-114 win over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Hunter bounced back nicely after a poor showing against the Heat in Friday's loss. The Hawks will continue to utilize Hunter and Danilo Gallinari extensively amid John Collins' (finger) absence. Collins is questionable to play at this point, and Hunter's total will be negatively impacted if Collins is good to go against the Hornets.
Apr 5, 2022
Reaches 20 points
Hunter produced 20 points (8-17 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one block over 37 minutes during Tuesday's 118-108 loss to Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Tuesday's performance marked the first time Hunter has reached 20 points since March 16. That said, his performances have turned a corner since early March, and fantasy managers rostering him lately are being rewarded.
Apr 3, 2022
Double-double against Nets
Hunter supplied 15 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-8 FT), 10 rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes during Saturday's 122-115 win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
The double-double was his second of the season, with the first coming back on Jan. 21 against the Heat. Hunter remains a steady producer for the Hawks, and since the beginning of March the third-year forward is averaging 14.6 points, 3.3 boards, 1.4 assists, 1.4 threes and 0.9 steals over his last 17 games.
Mar 30, 2022
Ready to play Wednesday
Hunter (knee) is available for Wednesday's game against the Thunder, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was a game-time decision after being a late scratch Monday against the Pacers, and he's been cleared to take the court Wednesday at Oklahoma City. The 24-year-old has averaged 12.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals in 29.4 minutes over his past five games.
Mar 30, 2022
Will be game-time decision
Hunter (knee) will be a game-time decision ahead of Wednesday's game against the Thunder, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was a late scratch ahead of Monday's contest and is in jeopardy of missing a second straight game. Danilo Gallinari (elbow) has already been ruled out and Jalen Johnson (concussion) is game-time decision as well, so the Hawks frontcourt may be tested if Johnson and Hunter are unable to make it through warmups.
Mar 29, 2022
Questionable at OKC
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Thunder, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was a late scratch Monday against the Pacers due to the issue. The Hawks could be quite shorthanded in the frontcourt, as Danilo Gallinari (elbow) and Jalen Johnson (concussion) are also questionable.
Mar 28, 2022
Late scratch Monday
Hunter won't play Monday against the Pacers due to right knee soreness, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was initially absent from Monday's injury report but has now been scratched less than an hour ahead of tipoff. It'll be the first absence since Jan. 9 for the 24-year-old, and his next chance to retake the court will come Wednesday at Oklahoma City. Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and Jalen Johnson should see increased run for Atlanta with John Collins (finger/foot) and Danilo Gallinari (elbow) also sidelined.
Mar 24, 2022
Empty 15 points in loss
Hunter finished with 15 points (5-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and one assist over 26 minutes during Wednesday's 122-101 loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Hunter trailed only Trae Young (21 points) in scoring, with the rest of the starting lineup combining for just 12 points. Atlanta ranks eighth in the league in points per game, averaging 112.8, but the Hawks struggled to score in an overall poor showing against Detroit on Wednesday. Hunter is a static performer, but he can be counted on for this level of production on a nightly basis.
Mar 17, 2022
Leads team with 21 points
Hunter recorded 21 points (7-13 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds and two assists in 37 minutes during Wednesday's 116-106 loss to Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Hunter paced the Hawks in scoring Wednesday as Trae Young crashed back down to earth following his back-to-back 45-plus point outings. The 24-year-old has now posted double-digit scoring efforts in eight consecutive games, and his four three-pointers were his most since Nov. 3, 2021. Hunter won't be able to carry the Hawks to wins without Young's usual contributions, but his improved efficiency from the field is encouraging as his team vies for a playoff spot.
Mar 15, 2022
Keeps scoring
Hunter notched 20 points (6-17 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, two blocks and two steals in 34 minutes during Monday's 122-113 win over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has logged 12-plus points in seven consecutive contests. While he wasn't efficient with his looks Monday, Hunter has connected on at least 50.0 percent of his shots in five of those aforementioned seven contests. The 24-year-old is averaging 32.1 minutes across his last 10 games.
Mar 13, 2022
Scores 15 in win
Hunter provided 15 points (5-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound and two assists across 37 minutes during Sunday's 131-128 victory over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter logged a team-high 37 minutes and trailed only Trae Young in scoring. Outside of the scoring column, Hunter supplied very brand contributions. After averaging 4.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 2020-21, Hunter's averages have dipped to 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists this season.
Mar 5, 2022
Top scorer in win
Hunter contributed 26 points (8-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 7-7 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 35 minutes during Friday's 117-114 victory over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been inconsistent on the scoreboard across the last month, but he shot 66.7 percent from the floor Friday and matched his highest scoring total of the season during the narrow victory. He's played at least 35 minutes in each of the last four games and has averaged 15.5 points and 3.0 rebound sin 36.5 minutes per game during that time.
Mar 1, 2022
Fails to score from field
Hunter supplied four points (0-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, one assist and two steals over 37 minutes during Tuesday's 107-98 loss to Boston.
ANALYSIS
Hunter failed to score from the field for the second time in three games, and he's shooting 4-for-23 during this stretch. In February, he posted shooting splits of just 39/31/80, so Tuesday's performance is a continuation of a troubling downward trend for the young wing.
Feb 26, 2022
Officially available Saturday
Hunter (illness) is available for Saturday's game against the Raptors, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter exited Thursday's game against the Bulls due to an illness but was listed as probable ahead of Saturday's matchup. He's scored in double figures in four of the last five games and will presumably remain in the starting lineup against Toronto.
Feb 25, 2022
Questionable Saturday
Hunter (illness) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Raptors, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was removed from Thursday's game against the Bulls due to an illness, but he'll have a chance to return to the court against Toronto. If he's held out, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Kevin Huerter should see additional run.
Feb 24, 2022
Shut down for rest of night
Hunter won't return to Thursday's game against Chicago due to illness, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will miss the remainder of the second half after putting up just two points, one rebound and one assist in 13 minutes. Bogdan Bogdanovic and Kevin Huerter could see more opportunities down the stretch as a result.
Feb 16, 2022
Double figures for fourth straight
Hunter added 14 points (5-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and one block across 27 minutes in Wednesday's 130-109 win over Orlando.
ANALYSIS
Hunter's 27 minutes of action were the most amongst Hawks' staters, and his 14 points marked a fourth straight game in double figures. During his recent four outings, the Virginia product is averaging 13.0 points with a high of 18 points coming Tuesday against Cleveland. Aside from his solid offensive play however, the forward wasn't much of a factor, and he's only averaging 3.3 rebounds across his last four outings.
Feb 16, 2022
Little else outside of 18 points
Hunter posted 18 points (7-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and one steal in 35 minutes Tuesday in the Hawks' 124-116 win over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Though Hunter came through with his second-best scoring output in his last 11 games, his lack of peripheral statistics continue to cap his fantasy upside. The Hawks will likely keep leaning on Hunter for secondary offense while John Collins (foot) is out through the All-Star break, but fantasy managers seeking help in the non-scoring categories are better off seeking help elsewhere. Hunter has posted modest averages of 3.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.1 three-pointers, 0.6 steals and 0.0 blocks through seven February games.
Feb 11, 2022
Unproductive in heavy loss Friday
Hunter closed with 10 points (5-11 FG, 0-4 3Pt) and two rebounds over 26 minutes during Friday's 136-121 loss to the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Hunter failed to deliver again Friday, continuing what has been a sub-par stretch of games. Over the past two weeks, Hunter has fallen off a cliff in terms of production, averaging just 13.4 points per game on 43 percent shooting. On the surface, scoring like this is palatable but given the fact he is contributing 0.3 combined blocks and steals over the same period, it's easy to see why he is presenting as a drop candidate in most competitive leagues.

Submits hollow stat line Sunday
Hunter finished with 14 points (4-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 6-7 FT), six rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes Sunday in the Hawks' 103-94 loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
While Hunter's point and rebound totals and free-throw production was solid enough, his dearth of peripheral production continues to cap his fantasy upside. Since returning in mid-January from an extended absence following wrist surgery, Hunter is averaging a pedestrian 1.6 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.5 blocks per game. His shortcomings in those areas probably aren't enough to make him worth keeping around in shallower leagues for fantasy managers who are desperate to make up ground in the standings in the three categories.
Feb 5, 2022
Scores in double digits again
Hunter supplied 23 points (7-18 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 7-8 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Friday's 125-114 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has scored in double digits in each of his last three contests, seemingly leaving behind a rough stretch in which he scored only nine points in three straight contests. The lack of consistency has been an issue with Hunter of late, but he's averaging 15.5 points while shooting 41.2 percent from three-point range across his last 10 games.
Feb 4, 2022
Modest performance Thursday
Hunter notched 13 points (4-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-7 FT), two rebounds and one assist across 21 minutes during Thursday's 124-115 victory over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was able to play through his ankle injury, finishing with yet another underwhelming line. It appears the medical staff is going to continue to monitor his minutes, especially given his recent injury struggles. The starting role is his to lose and while he can be a viable 12-team asset, his upside is probably not to the point where he is a must-roster player.
Feb 3, 2022
Available Thursday, as expected
Hunter (ankle) is available for Thursday's game against the Suns, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was considered probable with ankle soreness and will take the court as expected versus Phoenix. He's averaged 12.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals in 27.8 minutes in the last five games.
Feb 2, 2022
Probable vs. Suns
Hunter (ankle) is probable for Thursday's matchup against the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Hunter continues to deal with ankle soreness but should play through it again. Over the past 10 games, he's averaged 14.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 30.3 minutes.
Feb 1, 2022
Scores 17 points in loss
Hunter supplied 17 points (7-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal across 33 minutes during Monday's 106-100 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Hunter scored in double figures for the first time in his last four appearances. From mid-November to mid-January, Hunter was sidelined due to wrist surgery, and since he's returned, he's landed on the injury report with back and ankle issues. Due to the injuries, the third-year pro has yet to find his grove this season. He's provided a few glimpses at his potential, but the consistency has been lacking, which makes him difficult to trust from a fantasy perspective.
Jan 31, 2022
Available Monday
Hunter (ankle) is available for Monday's game against the Raptors, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter played through the right ankle injury the past two games and will do so again Monday. The 24-year-old could have a heavier offensive workload versus Toronto since Trae Young (shoulder) has been ruled out.
Jan 31, 2022
Probable Monday
Hunter (ankle) is listed as probable for Monday's game against the Raptors, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter played through a sore right ankle during Sunday's win over the Lakers to finish with nine points, four rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes. The Hawks will monitor his status on the second half of a back-to-back, but the expectation is that Hunter will play Monday.
Jan 30, 2022
Cleared for Sunday
Hunter (ankle) is available for Sunday's game versus the Lakers, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was considered a game-time decision for the second straight game and will continue to play through the soreness in his right ankle. The 24-year-old has averaged 14.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals in 29.8 minutes over the last five games.
Jan 29, 2022
Questionable Sunday
Hunter is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lakers due to right ankle discomfort, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was able to play through a back injury Friday against Boston, but he's now dealing with an ankle issue ahead of the first half of a back-to-back set. If he's held out against the Lakers, Kevin Huerter, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and Danilo Gallinari should see increased playing time.
Jan 28, 2022
Available Friday
Hunter (back) is available for Friday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was a game-time decision ahead of Friday's matchup, but he'll be able to suit up in spite of his low back discomfort. The 24-year-old has started each of the last seven games and has averaged 16.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in 30.7 minutes per contest across that span.
Jan 28, 2022
Questionable vs. Celtics
Hunter is questionable for Friday's matchup against the Celtics due to low back discomfort, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter played just 17 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Kings, as he was presumably dealing with the back injury during the game. If he sits out, more minutes will be available for Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and Kevin Huerter.
Jan 27, 2022
Plays just 17 minutes in start
Hunter supplied nine points (4-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 0-1 FT) and one rebound in 17 minutes during Wednesday's 121-104 victory over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Hunter landed on the injury report Tuesday will low back back discomfort and was officially listed as questionable. However, he was deemed healthy enough to play and even drew the start, but the third-year pro played just 17 minutes -- the fewest of any starter. Fantasy managers are encouraged to monitor Hunter's status closely, as the back issue may be a lingering issue that limits his overall production moving forward.
Jan 26, 2022
Available Wednesday
Hunter (back) will play Wednesday against the Kings, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has played well since returning to the starting lineup over the past six games. During this stretch, he's averaged 17.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 blocks in 33.0 minutes.
Jan 26, 2022
Expected to be game-time decision
Coach Nate McMillan said Hunter (back) went through shootaround and will be a game-time decision ahead of Wednesday's contest against the Kings, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter landed on the injury report Tuesday with low back discomfort and is officially listed as questionable. With Hunter, Bogdan Bogdanovic (knee) and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (illness) all likely to be game-time decisions, it's difficult to project what the Hawks' lineup will look like until closer to the 7:30 PM ET tip.
Jan 25, 2022
Questionable vs. Kings
Hunter is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Kings due to low back discomfort, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has played well since his return to the starting lineup, with averages of 17.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.8 combined blocks-plus-steals. If he sits out Wednesday, more minutes could be available for Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, though he's questionable with an illness.
Jan 22, 2022
Double-doubles in win
Hunter produced 13 points (5-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal in 35 minutes during Friday's 110-108 victory over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Hunter grabbed a team-high 10 boards en route to his first double-double of the season. Over his last six games, the 2019 first-round pick is averaging 16.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.0 blocks in 31.3 minutes. His current role is obviously extremely advantageous for fantasy managers, but it remains to be seen how the impending returns of Bogdan Bogdanovic (knee) and Danilo Gallinari (Achilles) will impact his production.
Jan 20, 2022
Scores 22 against Minnesota
Hunter scored 22 points (9-16 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT) while adding five rebounds, an assist and a steal in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 134-122 win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
The third-year forward continues to produce, dropping at least 20 points for the third time in four games since rejoining the starting lineup. Hunter missed nearly two months due to a wrist injury, but if he can regain last year's form or even take another step forward, it could help the Hawks shake themselves out of their funk.
Jan 17, 2022
Taps into new volume
Hunter supplied 20 points (6-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one block over 35 minutes during Monday's 121-114 win over the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter attempted a season-high 17 shots in the win, falling one rebound shy of his first double-double this campaign. He's only appeared in 15 games this season, but Hunter is shooting an excellent 42.3 percent on 3.7 threes per game. Managers with roster flexibility should consider him for a spot across formats.
Jan 14, 2022
Scores 20 points with three blocks
Hunter racked up 20 points (7-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two assists and three blocks across 30 minutes during Friday's 124-118 loss to Miami.
ANALYSIS
Hunter scored an efficient 20 points in the loss, the teams' first game following the trade involving Cam Reddish. With Reddish now in New York, both Hunter and Kevin Huerter should be able to carve out a most consistent role. While both can be 12-team assets, Hunter is likely the preferred target thanks to his ability to contribute on both ends of the floor. If he is available, feel free to give him a look over the next few games to see if he can rediscover the form from early last season.
Jan 14, 2022
In starting lineup
Hunter will return to the starting lineup in Friday's contest against the Heat, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter returned from a month long absence and provided 15 points (4-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound, one block and one steal across 24 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Heat. Expect his role to increase as he works himself back into condition.
Jan 13, 2022
Scores 15 in return
Hunter finished Wednesday's 115-91 loss to Miami with 15 points (4-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound, one block and one steal over 24 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Hunter had been sidelined since Nov. 14 due to a wrist injury and while he struggled from the field in this one, he still delivered a strong stat line from a scoring perspective. The third-year forward should ramp up from a conditioning perspective considering his lengthy absence and it wouldn't be strange if he keeps coming off the bench in a few more games before eventually reclaiming his starting role.
Jan 12, 2022
Good to go Wednesday
Hunter (wrist) is available for Wednesday's game against the Heat, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been sidelined since undergoing surgery on his right wrist in mid-November, but he'll retake the court Wednesday for Atlanta. He started in his first 11 appearances of the campaign and averaged 10.8 points and 2.7 rebounds in 27.8 minutes, though he figures to face some workload restrictions in his first game action in two months.
Jan 12, 2022
Will be game-time call Wednesday
Hunter (wrist) will be a game-time decision for Wednesday's matchup against Miami, Sarah Spencer of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Nate McMillan said Hunter is "feeling pretty good" after going through a full-speed, 5-on-5 scrimmage Tuesday, but the team will monitor his condition throughout the day before making a final call. Hunter did go through the Hawks' shootaround Wednesday morning, however, so he looks to be trending in the right direction. If he does play, it would mark his first action since Nov. 12.
Jan 11, 2022
Could return Wednesday
Hunter (wrist) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Heat, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter's recovery has been kept relatively under wraps, but it was revealed Tuesday that he practiced 5-on-5, and he could apparently return as soon as Wednesday. If that's the case, he could initially be on a minutes limit. Eventually, he could rejoin the starting five. He's started all 11 games he's appeared in this season.
Jan 11, 2022
Participates in 5-on-5 practice
Hunter (wrist) went through a full 5-on-5 practice Tuesday, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter underwent surgery on his right wrist in mid-November and was expected to be sidelined for eight weeks. Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk said last week that Hunter would need to progress to 5-on-5 full-contact drills before Atlanta set a target date for Hunter to resume playing. Now that he's back to full practices, Hawks head coach Nate McMillan anticipates we will see Hunter sooner rather than later and even hinted at Hunter possibly being cleared for Wednesday's contest against the Heat.
Jan 9, 2022
Remains without clear timeline
Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk said Tuesday that Hunter (wrist) remains without a clear timeline to return to game action, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports. "To put an exact timeline on it, I can't necessarily do that," Schlenk said. "We hope it's sooner rather than later."
ANALYSIS
When Hunter underwent surgery on his right wrist in mid-November, the expectation was that he would require roughly eight weeks of recovery time. The eight-week timeline has arrived in advance of Sunday's game in Los Angeles against the Clippers, but Hunter still looks as though he could be another week or more away from a return. Schlenk said that while Hunter is moving forward in his rehab, the third-year forward will first have to advance to 3-on-3 work and then eventually 5-on-5 full-contact drills before the Hawks pin down a target date for him to resume playing. Hunter's ongoing absence should continue to open up minutes for a combination of Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kevin Huerter, Cam Reddish and Danilo Gallinari.
Dec 14, 2021
Timeline set at 2-to-3 weeks
Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk said Tuesday that Hunter (wrist) is "two to three weeks away" from returning to game action, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
When Hunter underwent surgery on his right wrist Nov. 14, the initial projection for his recovery time was set at around eight weeks, but the third-year forward looks like he's on track to beat that timetable. Assuming he hits no further snags in his rehab program from surgery, Hunter looks like he'll be back on the court by the first week of January, if not the tail end of December. Kevin Huerter and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot have been filling in as Atlanta's starters on the wing while Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic (ankle) have been sidelined with multi-week injuries.
Dec 7, 2021
Making progress
Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk said Tuesday that Hunter (wrist) has graduated out of the first phase of his rehab program, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Approximately three weeks removed from undergoing surgery on his right wrist, Hunter's recovery appears to be progressing as the Hawks anticipated. At the time he underwent the procedure, Hunter was projected to miss around eight weeks, which seemingly puts him in line for a mid-January return. With Bogdan Bogdanovic (ankle) also expected to be sidelined for at least two more weeks, the Hawks will turn to a combination of Kevin Huerter, Cam Reddish (wrist), Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and Danilo Gallinari to fill minutes at either shooting guard or small forward.
Nov 14, 2021
Slated for surgery on wrist tendon
Hunter (wrist) will undergo surgery to address a tendon injury and is expected to miss roughly eight weeks, < ahref=https://twitter.com/TimBontemps/status/1460081871925260290> Tim Bontemps of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter sustained the injury during last Monday's loss to the Warriors, and while he was able to play in Friday's game at Denver, an MRI has since revealed the damage to his tendon. Assuming the eight-week timetable holds up, Hunter should be expected to miss 25-to-30 games, effectively wiping away about a third of his season. With Hunter out, the likes of Kevin Huerter, Cam Reddish, Solomon Hill and Danilo Gallinari could see increased roles.
Nov 13, 2021
Out Sunday
Hunter (wrist) is out Sunday against the Bucks, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter tried playing through wrist soreness Friday but ended up exiting the contest. Solomon Hill drew the start last time Hunter sat out, and the veteran could be in line to do so again Sunday.
Nov 12, 2021
Exits Friday's game
Hunter won't return to Friday's game against the Nuggets due to right wrist soreness, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter missed Tuesday's matchup with a right wrist strain but started Friday. Prior to his departure, he totaled two points (1-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and two rebounds in 21 minutes.
Nov 12, 2021
Will play Friday
Hunter (wrist) will play in Friday's matchup against the Nuggets, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has been nursing a wrist strain and drew a questionable designation as a result. Given that he has been cleared, look for him to take on his usual workload assuming he avoids reaggravating the injury.
Nov 12, 2021
Game-time decision Friday
Hunter (wrist) is considered a game-time decision for the Hawks matchup with the Nuggets on Friday, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is still dealing with a wrist strain that he suffered before the Hawks' last game with the Jazz. If the forward is unable to play, expect Kevin Huerter and Cam Reddish to see an increased run Friday against the Nuggets.
Nov 11, 2021
Questionable against Nuggets
Hunter (wrist) is questionable Friday at Denver, according to Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com.
ANALYSIS
Hunter sat out the previous Hawks game at Utah because of a strain concerning his right wrist. Kevin Huerter and Cam Reddish both played 30-plus minutes during Hunter's absence.
Nov 9, 2021
Out vs. Jazz
Hunter (wrist) is out for Tuesday's matchup against the Jazz, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will miss his first game since the third contest of the season. In his absence, Kevin Huerter and Cam Reddish should see increased run.
Nov 9, 2021
Questionable for Tuesday's contest
Hunter (wrist) is questionable for Tuesday's contest against the Jazz, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite playing 23 minutes Monday against the Warriors, Hunter is apparently dealing with a wrist strain and is questionable for Tuesday's contest. If he is unable to suit up, then Kevin Huerter -- who may have to start in place of Bogdan Bogdanovic (ankle) -- or Cam Reddish will likely be interested into the starting lineup.
Nov 4, 2021
Great shooting in loss
Hunter scored 26 points (10-11 FG, 6-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT) and added two rebounds, one steal and one block in 33 minutes of Wednesday's loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
After a disappointing start to his season, Hunter's near-perfect shooting night allowed him to double his previous season-high of 13 points. Hunter scored 20-plus points in seven of 23 games last season, so it figures that he has more nights coming with this high-level scoring production. Although the third-year forward was able to overcome his scoring woes, he has still failed to make an impact in any other aspect of the game as he is now averaging just 2.7 rebounds and 0.4 assists on the season.
Oct 30, 2021
Another poor performance Saturday
Hunter ended with just seven points (3-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and three rebounds in 23 minutes during Saturday's 122-94 loss to Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
It was a night to forget for the Hawks and especially Hunter, who turned in another sub-par performance. After starting the season well, he has regressed hard over the past few games, almost to the point where he is no longer a viable 12-team asset. Fantasy managers should be holding where possible but at this stage, the signs are far from positive.
Oct 27, 2021
Plays 29 minutes in return
Hunter had 13 points (5-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and two rebounds in Wednesday's win over New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
After an illness kept him out of Monday's win over Detroit, Hunter was back in the starting lineup and saw his usual workload (29 minutes). Through three appearances, this season, Hunter has three double-figure scoring games, but he hasn't added much in terms of other counting stats. Across 98 total minutes, he's amassed just eight rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal.
Oct 27, 2021
Starting Wednesday
Hunter is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing Monday's game against the Pistons due to a non-COVID illness, Hunter will return to the Hawks' starting five, pushing Kevin Huerter to the bench. Hunter is averaging 11.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 29.5 minutes per game so far this season.
Oct 27, 2021
Officialy active
Hunter (illness) will play in Wednesday's contest against the Pelicans, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter missed the team's last contest due to an illness but is back for the Hawks' matchup against New Orleans on Wednesday. The Virginia product is averaging 11.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 29.5 minutes per game thus far.
Oct 26, 2021
Likely to play Wednesday
Hunter (illness) is probable for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter missed Monday's game against the Pistons due to a non-COVID-19 illness, but he was able to return to practice Tuesday and is traveling with the team. The 23-year-old should reclaim his starting spot after he averaged 11.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks in 29.5 minutes in the first two games of the year.
Oct 26, 2021
Returns to practice Tuesday
Coach Nate McMillan said that Hunter (non-COVID illness) returned to practice Tuesday and will go on the team's upcoming road trip, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was sidelined for the Hawks' win over the Pistons on Monday, but it appears he will be available for Atlanta's road trip, which starts Wednesday and entails three games in four days. The 23-year-old forward scored in double figures during the first two games of the season, but he shot just 37.0 percent from the field. Kevin Huerter and Cam Reddish both saw extended minutes during his absence and played well, which could put Hunter's starting spot in jeopardy.
Oct 25, 2021
Won't play Monday
Hunter (non-COVID illness) has been ruled out for Monday's contest against the Pistons, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has started Atlanta's first two contests this season, but he will be sidelined Monday due to a non-COVID illness. In his absence, Kevin Huerter will likely join the starting lineup, and Cam Reddish and Solomon Hill may see extra minutes off the bench.
Oct 14, 2021

Oct 13, 2021

Oct 8, 2021
Questionable Saturday
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Saturday's preseason matchup against the Grizzlies, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter didn't practice Friday while managing a right knee injury. However, it's still possible he checks into Saturday's game.
Oct 8, 2021
Doesn't practice Friday
Coach Nate McMillan said Hunter (knee) didn't practice Friday because he was dealing with soreness, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter made his preseason debut Wednesday and scored eight points in 26 minutes of action. His absence from practice is likely precautionary, but fantasy managers should monitor his status throughout the preseason. The 23-year-old will probably be a game-time decision for Saturday's exhibition game against the Grizzlies.
Oct 6, 2021
Starting Wednesday's game
Hunter (knee) will start Wednesday's preseason game against the Cavaliers, KL Chouinard of Hawks.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After being held out of the opener on Monday, Hunter will see his first action since Game 5 against the Knicks in the first round of the 2021 Playoffs. Hunter underwent meniscus surgery in June and was limited to begin camp, but he's progressed well, and it's a very encouraging sign that he's been given the green light to play Wednesday. Barring a setback over the next two weeks, Hunter should be back up to full speed by the start of the regular season.
Oct 5, 2021
May play Wednesday
Hunter (knee) is listed as probable for Wednesday's contest against the Cavaliers, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter did not play in the Hawks' preseason opener, but he may make his 2021-22 debut Wednesday. The 2019 first-round pick has been limited in practice due to offseason knee surgery, so the Hawks have been slowly working him back to game action.
Oct 3, 2021
Won't play in Monday's exhibition
Hunter (injury management) has been ruled out for Monday's preseason game against the Heat, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was limited to open camp while coming off knee surgery over the summer, but he's recently been a full participant in practice. However, the Hawks will still hold him out of Monday's exhibition to help manage his return from the injury.
Sep 29, 2021
Goes through full practice
Hunter (knee) went through a full practice Wednesday, KL Chouinard of Hawks.com reports.
ANALYSIS
At media day earlier in the week, Hunter said he's close to full strength, so it's a very encouraging sign that he's already been able to make it through a full practice. The Hawks will wait to see how the third-year forward responds Thursday morning, but at this rate he should have a good chance to suit up for the preseason opener Monday night at Miami.
Sep 27, 2021
Nearing 100 percent health
Hunter (knee) said Monday that he's nearly fully recovered from offseason surgery to repair a torn meniscus, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Less than a week ago, the Hawks stated that Hunter would be limited to begin training camp, and it looks like nothing has changed on that front. The third-year forward sounded encouraged by the progress he's made and said he anticipates being fully healthy in "a few more weeks." While Hunter will likely miss a few preseason contests, the hope is that he'll be ready when the regular season opens on Oct. 21 against Dallas.
Sep 24, 2021
Limited to begin camp
Hunter (knee) will be a limited participant to open training camp but is expected to be fully cleared for the start of the regular season, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter battled a knee injury throughout the 2020-21 campaign and eventually underwent meniscus surgery in June, but the Hawks will exercise caution and bring him along slowly early in camp. Altanta will open exhibition play Oct. 4 in Miami, while the regular season is scheduled to start Oct. 21 versus Dallas.
Jun 15, 2021
Should be ready for camp
Hunter (knee) underwent successful surgery to repair a torn meniscus Tuesday and is expected to make a full recovery before the start of training camp, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old has now officially undergone the season-ending procedure after battling knee issues for much of the season. Hunter was a pivotal piece for the Hawks when healthy and averaged 15.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 29.5 minutes over 23 games, and he's expected to be ready to open the 2021-22 campaign.
Jun 9, 2021
Ruled out for season
Hunter (knee) will miss the remainder of the season and undergo meniscus surgery, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter had been battling a knee injury all season, playing in just five regular-season games after the All-Star break. However, the second-year forward returned just in time for the playoffs and averaged 30.2 minutes, 10.8 points and 4.0 rebounds during the first-round series against the Knicks. Depending on how he progresses, the 2019 fourth-overall pick may be in jeopardy of missing the start of next season. In the meantime, expect Danilo Gallinari and Kevin Huerter to continue to see extended action.

Out for Game 2
Hunter (knee) will not play in Tuesday's Game 2 against the 76ers, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will miss a second straight game with right knee soreness -- an issue that's plagued him for most of the season. In his absence, Solomon Hill will start at small forward again.
Jun 7, 2021
Game-time decision for Game 2
Hunter (knee) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's Game 2 battle against the 76ers, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing Game 1 with knee soreness, Hunter's status is still unknown for Game 2. Coach Nate McMillan shared that Hunter did some shooting Monday but that was it. If Hunter is unable to play Tuesday, expect Solomon Hill to get the start once again. Danilo Gallinari and Kevin Huerter should see more minutes as well.
Jun 6, 2021
Won't play in Game 1
Hunter (knee) won't be available for Sunday's game against the 76ers, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
After starting in every game of the Hawks' round one matchup with the Knicks, Hunter will miss his first playoff game of the year with right knee soreness. With Hunter out of the lineup, expect Kevin Huerter, Danilo Gallinari and Solomon Hill to pick up plenty of additional playing time. Hill will start in Hunter's place.
Jun 6, 2021
Remains game-time call
Hunter (knee) is a game-time decision for Game 1 against Philadelphia on Sunday, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is dealing with right knee soreness which still has him uncertain for Sunday's contest. The 23-year-old played in all five games in the first-round series against New York, so it would be surprising if he wasn't available for Game 1.
Jun 5, 2021
Questionable for Game 1
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Sunday's Game 1 against the 76ers, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was dealing with knee soreness ahead of Game 5 against the Knicks but still played 34 minutes and posted 15 points, three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal. If he's unable to play Sunday, more minutes could be available for Solomon Hill and John Collins.
Jun 3, 2021
Drops 15 points in Game 5 win
Hunter ended with 15 points (6-11 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 103-89 victory over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter continues to work his way through a knee injury but at this point, his availability seems all but assured. While his numbers have been far from mind-blowing, his impact on the court is undeniable, highlighted by the fact the team easily accounted for the fourth-seeded Knicks in just five games. The Hawks will now face the 76ers in the second round of the playoffs, a matchup that is sure to be must-watch viewing.
Jun 2, 2021
Good to go for Game 5
Hunter (knee) is available for Wednesday's Game 5 against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Hunter will play in Game 5 at New York despite some lingering right knee soreness that caused him to land on the injury report. In the first four games, Hunter has averaged 9.8 points and 4.3 rebounds in 29.3 minutes per contest.
Jun 1, 2021
Probable for Game 5
Hunter is probable for Wednesday's Game 5 at New York with right knee soreness, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old missed significant time with a right knee injury this season, and it appears the issue has resurfaced. However, it doesn't appear to be a serious concern since Hunter is still expected to play in Game 5.
May 27, 2021
Bounces back with 18 points
Hunter accumulated 18 points (3-10 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 9-11 FT) and six rebounds in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 101-92 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old rebounded from Game 1's five-point dud to achieve his highest scoring mark since Jan. 27. Over his first two games of the series, Hunter is averaging 11.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 three-pointers in 27.1 minutes. The second-year forward will look to build on Wednesday's bounce-back performance in Game 3 on Friday.
May 23, 2021
Scores five in 22 minutes
Hunter had five points (2-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt) and four rebounds in Sunday's Game 1 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter got the start at one forward spot, and while he didn't do much, it's still encouraging that he got the nod over Danilo Gallinari and Kevin Huerter. Hunter (22 minutes), Huerter (27) and Gallinari (24) split the workload fairly evenly, while Tony Snell also garnered 13 minutes off the bench. As Hunter gains more confidence in the knee that's cost him significant time this season, it's possible he could see more minutes as the series goes on.
May 23, 2021
Starting Game 1
Hunter will start Sunday's Game 1 against the Knicks, Brad Rowland of Locked On Hawks reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter got the starting nod in the regular-season finale against Houston, but the Hawks were without some key players in that contest, so it was unclear if the second-year wing would hang onto the spot for the start of the playoffs. Ultimately, coach Nate McMillan will roll with the Virginia product, who was off to a fantastic start to the season before a knee injury cost him nearly 50 games from early February through early May. Hunter made his return to action on May 10 against Washington and was able to play in three of the Hawks' final four regular-season games. His minutes were limited, however, so it's possible Hunter could still have his workload monitored through the first few games of the postseason.
May 18, 2021
Slated for minutes increase
Hunter is set to see his minutes restriction increase for Sunday's Game 1 versus the Knicks, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was held to 24 minutes against the Rockets in his first start since returning from a lengthy stay on the sidelines due to a knee injury. Coach Nate McMillan was unwilling to say Hunter's minutes restriction will be fully lifted, but it seems he should be capable of playing minutes closer to the 33.4 per game he averaged prior to the knee procedure.
May 16, 2021
Set to start Sunday
Hunter will start Sunday's game against the Rockets, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It's a meaningless game for both teams, so this will be a nice tune-up for Hunter, who's missed much of the season while battling a knee injury. Hunter played 15 minutes in Thursday's win over Orlando, finishing with four points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.
May 13, 2021
Will play Thursday
Hunter (rest) is off the injury report ahead of Thursday's contest against the Magic, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, following one game off for injury maintenance, Hunter will be back in the rotation for the second-to-last game of the regular season. During his return, he played 14 minutes, so that number could get bumped up Thursday.
May 11, 2021
Out for rest Wednesday
Hunter is out Wednesday against the Wizards due to injury maintenance, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter made his return Monday after 24 straight missed games, and he posted six points and three rebounds in 14 minutes. Though coach Nate McMillan said Hunter suffered no swelling or pain after returning, the forward will still sit out Wednesday's contest. The Hawks are presumably being cautious with the hopes of making sure Hunter is 100 percent healthy for the playoffs, especially since Wednesday is the first half of a back-to-back set.
May 11, 2021
No setbacks after return
Coach Nate McMillan said Tuesday that Hunter suffered by no swelling or pain after his return Monday, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter returned from a six-week absence Monday to tally six points and three boards across 14 minutes in a win over the Wizards. The good news is that he didn't suffer any setbacks in his return, seemingly suggesting that he will be available going forward to end the regular season. Hunter should be active for Wednesday's rematch against Washington, but it remains to be seen if he'll continue to have a significant minutes restriction.
May 11, 2021
Gets limited minutes in return
Hunter (knee) played 14 minutes off the bench in Monday's 125-124 win over the Wizards, finishing with six points (3-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and three rebounds.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Hunter faced significant restrictions Monday as he made his return from a six-week absence that spanned 24 games. Considering that Hunter already suffered a setback with his right knee when the Hawks brought him back sooner than expected, Atlanta will likely be more motivated to ramp the 23-year-old back up slowly. After starting in his first 18 appearances of the season, Hunter will likely be brought off the bench for the foreseeable future until he's free of restrictions, perhaps at some point during the postseason. Given his expected limitations over the Hawks' final three regular-season games, Hunter doesn't look like a particularly appealing fantasy option for leagues that remain active.
May 10, 2021
Cleared to return Monday
Hunter (knee) will play Monday against the Wizards, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is set to play in his first game since late March after dealing with a right knee injury. The 23-year-old will unsurprisingly be on a minutes restriction in his return, which makes him less attractive in fantasy formats. Coach Nate McMillan hasn't specified just how limited Hunter's minutes will be.
May 9, 2021
Questionable Monday
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Monday's game against the Wizards, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter went through a full practice Sunday without any setbacks, and he has a chance to return for the first time since late March. If he's available, Hunter will likely see a minutes restriction following his lengthy absence.
May 9, 2021
Practices in full Sunday
Coach Nate McMillan said Hunter (knee) went through a full practice Sunday and suffered no setbacks, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
It was previously reported that Hunter could return Monday, and his successful participation in practice is another positive sign. "Everything looked good," McMillan said. "Went through full practice, we didn't do anything live, mostly a lot of shooting today, but really no reports of setbacks." Hunter hasn't played since late March, so he likely will see a minutes limit if he is available to return ahead of the playoffs.
May 8, 2021
Could return Monday
Hunter (knee) played five-on-five during Saturday's practice, and based on how Sunday's practice and Monday's morning walkthrough go, he could return for the game against the Wizards, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is starting to get comfortable on his surgically-repaired right knee, and he could return as soon as Monday. The second-year forward hasn't played in the Hawks' past 24 games, and he's appeared in just two contests since the start of February. Once Hunter returns, he'll likely be on a minutes limit, though if he returns as soon as Monday, it seems possible that he could be fully cleared by the time the playoffs start.
May 4, 2021
Needs more maintenance for knee
Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk said Tuesday that Hunter won't resume playing until he regains full confidence in his surgically-repaired right knee, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports. "We aren't going to put anyone out there if they don't feel comfortable playing," Schlenk said.
ANALYSIS
Hunter initially injured the knee Jan. 29 and underwent surgery just over a week later. He missed 23 games before returning to action sooner than expected March 22, but he appeared in just two contests until being shut down again after experiencing renewed swelling in the knee. Hunter has since underwent another minor procedure on the knee, but the second-year forward doesn't look like he's made much major progress in his recovery over the past five weeks. According to Schlenk, Hunter hasn't had many opportunities of late to take part in 5-on-5 scrimmaging to gain confidence in the knee, so the 23-year-old looks destined to miss at least a few more games.
May 2, 2021
Remains out Monday
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Trail Blazers, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will miss yet another game due to a sore right knee. His next chance to return will be Wednesday against the Suns.
May 1, 2021
Out Saturday
Hunter (knee) is out Saturday against the Bulls, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It was thought Hunter could be back for Saturday's game, but that won't be the case. His next chance to play is Monday against the Trail Blazers.
Apr 29, 2021
Won't play Friday
Hunter (knee) will not play in Friday's game against the 76ers, Brad Rowland of Locked On Hawks reports.
ANALYSIS
Earlier in the week, GM Travis Schlenk told the media that Hunter could be ready to return before the end of the week, but his chances aren't looking great as the Hawks enter a Friday/Saturday back-to-back set. Of course, there's a chance Hunter could play Saturday versus Chicago, but if he remains out for that contest, his next chance to return would come Monday against Portland.
Apr 27, 2021
Could be back for weekend
Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk said that Hunter (knee) could be ready to return to game action by the end of the week, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Based on Schlenk's comments, Hunter looks like he can be ruled out for a 19th straight game Wednesday in Philadelphia, but the Hawks' Friday/Saturday back-to-back set with the 76ers and Bulls, respectively, could be a realistic target for the forward's return to the lineup. Given that he's now had two extended absences on account of his right knee, Hunter will probably be eased back into the rotation on a more limited minutes count. The second-year forward likely can't be counted on to replicate the production he delivered when healthy earlier this season, when he averaged 16.0 points, 5.1 boards, 2.1 assists and 1.6 three-pointers in 31.3 minutes per game over his 20 appearances.
Apr 26, 2021
Missing another game
Hunter (knee) remains out for Monday's game against the Pistons, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
When Hunter underwent what the Hawks termed as a minor procedure for his right knee on April 5, head coach Nate McMillan said the forward would only miss "a couple of days." Three weeks later, Hunter remains sidelined, and the team has yet to provide a clear update on when he might be available to take the court. Given his sketchy timeline for a return along with uncertainty about what his role might look like when he's available to play, Hunter is tough to justify holding in most fantasy leagues at this stage of the season.
Apr 24, 2021
Out Sunday
Hunter (knee) is out Sunday against the Bucks, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's not clear what sort of progress Hunter is making. His next chance to play is Monday against the Pistons.
Apr 22, 2021
Out once again
Hunter (knee) will not play Friday against Miami.
ANALYSIS
The Hawks continue to evaluate Hunter on a game-by-game basis, but he hasn't played in almost a full month and there's been no indication that he's nearing a return.
Apr 21, 2021
Out Wednesday
Hunter (knee) is out Wednesday against the Knicks, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter will miss a 15th straight game Wednesday while recovering from a minor knee procedure. It's unclear when he may return.
Apr 19, 2021
Still out Tuesday
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Magic, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old will be sidelined for the 14th straight game as he continues to recover from a minor knee procedure. Hunter's next chance to return to action arrives Wednesday versus the Knicks.
Apr 17, 2021
Out vs. Pacers
Hunter (knee) is out Sunday against the Pacers, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter is recovering from a minor knee procedure and will miss a 12th game in a row. His next chance to play is Tuesday against the Magic.
Apr 14, 2021
Out Thursday
Hunter (knee) is out Thursday against the Bucks, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter continues to recover from a minor knee procedure and will miss an 11th straight contest. His next chance to play arrives Sunday against the Pacers.
Apr 13, 2021
Not playing Tuesday
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Tuesday's game against the Raptors, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though head coach Nate McMillan said that the procedure Hunter required for his sore right knee last week would only sideline him for "a couple of days," the Hawks haven't provided much in the way of an update on the second-year forward's condition. With that in mind, Hunter should be viewed as questionable -- at best -- for the Hawks' remaining two games this week (Thursday versus Milwaukee, Sunday versus Indiana).
Apr 5, 2021
To undergo minor knee procedure
Hunter will undergo a minor procedure on his right knee Monday, Mike Conti of the Hawks Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The exact nature of the procedure remains unclear, but coach Nate McMillan mostly downplayed it, noting that it's only expected to keep Hunter out for "a couple of days." Hunter made his return to action back on March 22 but only lasted two games before the knee forced him back to the sideline. He's now missed the last six games, and while Monday's surgery is not considered season-ending, it further complicates his return-to-play timeline. At this stage, it's probably safe to rule Hunter out for at least one more week, though it wouldn't be surprising if his absence extends later into April.
Apr 3, 2021
Out Sunday
Hunter (knee) is out Sunday against the Warriors, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sunday marks the sixth straight missed game for Hunter, who returned briefly for two games after a 23-game absence. His next chance to play is Tuesday against the Pelicans.
Apr 1, 2021
Out Thursday and Friday
Hunter (knee) will not play Thursday against San Antonio or Friday against New Orleans, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter had been listed as questionable for Thursday's game, but he apparently suffered a setback as he was already ruled out for Friday as well. The 23-year-old's absence means Tony Snell will continue to see an increased workload. Hunter's next chance to play now comes Sunday against Golden State.
Mar 31, 2021
Questionable vs. Spurs
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has missed three straight games due to right knee soreness, but he may be able to return Thursday. With John Collins (ankle) sidelined, Hunter's presence is as important as ever for the Hawks, who are 23-24 and in the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference before Wednesday's action.
Mar 30, 2021
Out Tuesday
Hunter (knee) is out Tuesday against the Suns, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter still has swelling in his knee, so he'll miss a third straight game after a two-game return from an extended absence. His next chance to play is Thursday against the Spurs.
Mar 29, 2021
Questionable for Tuesday
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Suns, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has missed two straight games with knee soreness, and his status for Tuesday is up in the air at this point. Expect further clarification from the Hawks as tipoff nears.
Mar 28, 2021
Ruled out Sunday
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Nuggets, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was questionable for Sunday's matchup, but he reportedly hasn't done activities in the past few days and is still dealing with swelling in his right knee. Tony Snell and Danilo Gallinari should see increased run for Atlanta once again in Hunter's absence.
Mar 27, 2021
Questionable for Sunday
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game at Denver, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old sat out Friday's matchup with the Warriors due to right knee soreness, and his status for Sunday remains up in the air. Hunter returned for two games last week after missing 23 straight contests coming off knee surgery, so the Hawks figure to remain cautious in returning him to action.
Mar 26, 2021
Won't play Friday
Hunter (knee) won't play Friday against the Warriors, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was dealing with right knee soreness leading up to Friday's game and was experiencing swelling prior to the matchup against the Warriors. Tony Snell and Danilo Gallinari should see increased run for Atlanta in his absence.
Mar 26, 2021
Downgraded to questionable
Hunter (knee) has been downgraded to questionable for Friday's game against the Warriors, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Initially listed as probable, Hunter's knee is apparently feeling sorer than anticipated. If he ends up sitting out Friday, Tony Snell and Solomon Hill would be candidates to see extra run.
Mar 25, 2021
Probable for Friday
Hunter (knee) is probable for Friday's game against the Warriors, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has taken the floor in the last two games after a 23-game absence due to knee surgery. The 23-year-old is still dealing with soreness in his knee, but he appears likely to play Friday for the third-consecutive game. Hunter has scored a combined 10 points on 13 field-goal attempts over the last two games.
Mar 23, 2021
Logs eight points in return
Hunter posted eight points (3-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), a rebound, an assist and a steal across 20 minutes in Monday's 119-110 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Tony Snell has performed well in Hunter's absence, but the HAwks must be thrilled to have Hunter back. The versatile Virginia product was an influential two-way catalyst and a mainstay in the starting five to begin the season. The team will play it cautiously with Hunter and cap his minutes in the short-term, but barring any setbacks, we should see Hunter's minutes rise to usual levels within the week.
Mar 22, 2021
Will play, have minute restriction
Hunter (knee) will play in Monday's matchup with the Clippers and will be limited to 20 minutes, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was considered a game-time call and has seemingly answered whatever questions the Hawks' training staff had during warmups. He has not played since Jan. 29, so his minute restriction is certainly not surprising as he eases himself back into the swing of things.
Mar 22, 2021
Will be game-time call
Hunter (knee) will be a game-time call for Monday's game against the Clippers, Sarah Spencer of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports noted Monday morning that Hunter will make his return against the Clippers, but it looks as though that report may have been a bit premature. Hunter has since clarified that he'll go through pregame warmups and assess how his knee feels before making a final call on his status. The second-year forward has not played since Jan. 29 and was off to an encouraging start before suffering a meniscus injury.
Mar 22, 2021
Set to return Monday
Hunter (knee) will make his return to action Monday night against the Clippers, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
The Hawks are yet to officially confirm Hunter's status, but it looks as though the second-year forward will be back in the rotation for the first time since Jan. 29. Hunter underwent knee surgery in early February and has been gradually working his way back to full strength. He'll likely face some initial restrictions but could be worth re-inserting into fantasy lineups by this time next week.
Mar 21, 2021
Questionable for Monday's game
Hunter (knee) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Clippers, Brad Rowland of Locked On Hawks reports.
ANALYSIS
Last week, there were some rumblings that Hunter might return to action, but he ultimately needed a bit more time as he works back from right knee surgery. Hunter progressed to full-speed scrimmaging, but he's yet to be fully cleared for game action. That clearance could come Monday, but the Hawks will wait to see how the second-year forward feels at shootaround before updating his status. Hunter has not played since Jan. 29.
Mar 19, 2021
Won't return Saturday
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Lakers, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter went through a 4-on-4 scrimmage Wednesday, but he'll remain sidelined Saturday while he continues to recover from right knee surgery. His next chance to play will be Monday against the Clippers.
Mar 17, 2021
Progresses to 4-on-4 scrimmage
Hunter (knee), who is out Thursday against the Thunder, will go through a 4-on-4 scrimmage Wednesday, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter remains day-to-day while recovering from right knee surgery, and it appears like he's making good progress toward a return. His next chance to play arrives Saturday against the Lakers.
Mar 17, 2021
Listed out Thursday
Hunter (knee) is listed as out for Thursday's game against the Thunder, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Earlier in the week, GM Travis Schlenk intimated that Hunter may be able to return for Thursday's contest, but it looks like the wing will need a bit more time to work back from surgery on his right knee. When asked about Hunter's chances to play Thursday, coach Nate McMillan responded: "I haven't heard that. He's been working out, he's getting closer, but playing [Thursday]? That's something we haven't really talked much about." For now, consider Hunter day-to-day as the Hawks look ahead to an eight-game Western Conference road trip, which begins Saturday in Los Angeles.
Mar 16, 2021
Could return this week
Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk said that Hunter (knee) could be ready to rejoin Atlanta's lineup as soon as Thursday against the Thunder, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter received good news earlier this month when doctors determined he wouldn't require a second platelet-rich plasma injection for his surgically-repaired right knee, but the fact that he's this close to a return comes as a surprise, as the expectation was that he would be sidelined until later in March. After the Hawks play in Houston on Tuesday, Hunter will likely be evaluated in practice Wednesday before a decision is made on his status for Thursday. Considering that he's been sidelined for the last 20 games, Hunter may not take on his old high-minute starting role at small forward immediately upon being cleared, but he'll still be a worthwhile speculative pickup in fantasy leagues where he might have been dropped. Before requiring meniscus surgery, Hunter was enjoying a breakout sophomore campaign, averaging 17.2 points (on 51.4 percent shooting from the field), 5.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.7 three-pointers and 0.9 steals in 32.2 minutes.
Mar 5, 2021
Second PRP injection unnecessary
Hunter (knee) won't require a second platelet-rich plasma injection, which should shed about 7-to-10 days off his original recovery timeline, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old was expected to miss 7-to-10 weeks after undergoing knee surgery in early February, but that timeline may now be a bit shorter. According to Kirschner, Hunter has been cleared for unrestricted weight-room work and progressive court reloading, and he'll be re-evaluated March 19. The young forward could return during Atlanta's eight-game road trip during the back half March, which begins March 20 and ends April 2.
Mar 2, 2021
Meeting with doctors on tap
Atlanta general manager Travis Schlenk said Hunter has scheduled a visit Friday with his doctors, who will determine whether he requires a second platelet-rich plasma injection in his surgically-repaired right knee, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Schlenk, whether or not Hunter requires the second PRP shot will provide more clarity regarding the second-year forward's timeline for recovery. Shortly after Hunter required a scope for his meniscus in early February, Schlenk estimated that the 23-year-old would be sidelined for 7-to-10 weeks, so he's not expected to be ready to play coming out of the All-Star break regardless of the news he receives from his doctors. Instead, Hunter's fantasy managers should plan on him being available no sooner than late March in a best-case scenario.
Feb 17, 2021
Progressing in rehab
Hunter (knee) has moved to weight-bearing exercises and some on-court work as he rehabs from surgery on his right meniscus, Marc Spears of The Undefeated reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter underwent surgery -- a debridement procedure -- just over a week ago, so the fact that he's already making progress is a considerable step in the right direction. Spears notes that Hunter has been able to go through form shooting and ball-handling drills, in addition to activities geared toward strengthening the knee. The Hawks plan to evaluate Hunter in two weeks, at which point we should have a better gauge as to whether he's ahead of the seven-to-10-week timetable the team initially put forth. Prior to the injury, Hunter was enjoying a breakout sophomore campaign, averaging 17.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 0.9 steals, while raising his shooting percentages across the board.
Feb 9, 2021
Long-term absence confirmed
Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk said that Hunter underwent successful surgery on his right knee Monday, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports. "Doctors say, typically, on average, these things are 7-to-10 weeks," Schlenk said of Hunter's projected recovery timeline. "And most of the guys are ready to go by eight weeks. So we're hopeful."
ANALYSIS
The Hawks had previously indicated that Hunter would be re-evaluated in two weeks following surgery, but the 23-year-old was never considered likely to be ready to play by the end of February or early March. Schlenk's update provides further clarity on the matter, as Hunter now looks set to be sidelined until at least early April, if not longer. With Hunter now expected to miss roughly 25-to-35 games, he'll be tough to justify holding in most leagues, even though he should be ready to play by the time the regular season comes to an end. The knee injury is a tough setback for Hunter, who had taken a major step forward in his sophomore campaign with averages of 17.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.7 three-pointers and 0.9 steals in 32.2 minutes per game on 51.4 percent shooting from the floor and 87.7 percent shooting from the free-throw line. Kevin Huerter, Danilo Gallinari and Cam Reddish should be the main beneficiaries from Hunter's absence in the next few weeks, while Bogdan Bogdanovic (knee) should a

Slated to undergo procedure
Hunter will undergo a lateral meniscus arthroscopic debridement procedure Monday that will keep him out at least two weeks, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has missed the last four games due to a right knee injury, and he'll undergo another procedure that will keep him out for several weeks. The team expects to provide an update on his recovery approximately two weeks after his surgery, and a better idea of his return timetable could be known at that point. Can Reddish and Danilo Gallinari should see increased run while Hunter is sidelined.

Still out Saturday
Hunter (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Raptors, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old will be sidelined for the fourth straight game after suffering the right knee injury last week. Jan 30, 2021
Out at least a week
Hunter (knee) underwent an MRI, which revealed articular wear and tear in his right knee, and he'll be reviewed next week following a non-surgical procedure Saturday morning.
ANALYSIS
Right knee soreness forced Hunter to leave Friday's game early, and it turns out he was dealing with an issue significant enough to keep him out at least a week. While Hunter is sidelined, Cam Reddish and Danilo Gallinari could see extra run.
Jan 29, 2021
Won't return Friday

ANALYSIS
Hunter sat out the final several minutes of the first half Friday, and the team announced that he won't return for the second half of the game. Prior to his departure, he recorded six points (3-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal over 12 minutes. It's not yet clear whether his knee issue will impact his availability for Monday's game against the Lakers.
Jan 28, 2021
Strong performance in OT loss
Hunter recorded 21 points (7-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal in 45 minutes during Wednesday's 132-128 OT loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has now scored at least 20 points in three straight games, and he's shooting 55.1 percent from the field over this stretch. This season, he's made strides as a scorer from inside the arc, increasing his two-point percentage and getting to the free-throw line almost twice as much as last season.
Jan 27, 2021
Scoring run continues
Hunter posted 22 points (7-16 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block across 36 minutes in Tuesday's win over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was one of the big reasons why the Hawks came away with the win against one of the top teams in The Association. As if that wasn't enough, Hunter has scored 20 or more points in three of his four contests. He seems to be ready to assume the scoring load that represents being one of the team's top scoring threats.
Jan 24, 2021
Scores career-high 33 points
Hunter delivered 33 points (13-21 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four rebounds, four assists and a steal across 42 minutes in Sunday's loss against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter took on a bigger role offensively with Trae Young (back) sidelined, and he responded by pouring a career-best scoring mark. Hunter has quietly emerged as one of the Hawks' top offensive threats this season, scoring in double digits in every game and topping the 15-point mark in nine of his last 11 contests.
Jan 24, 2021
Available for Sunday
Hunter (knee) is available to play for Sunday's game against the Bucks, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has only missed one game so far this season despite being bothered by right knee soreness. The 23-year-old is off the injury report for Sunday's game, so he should see his average of around 31.7 minutes per game.
Jan 23, 2021
Questionable vs. Bucks
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bucks, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter continues to be bothered by right knee soreness, but he played through the issue Friday against the Timberwolves, posting 11 points, four steals, three rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes. If he ends up sitting this time around, expect Danilo Gallinari, Solomon Hill and Tony Snell to see more usage.
Jan 23, 2021
Collects four steals in victory Friday
Hunter compiled 11 points (4-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four steals, three rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes during Friday's 116-98 victory over Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was back for the Hawks and slotted straight into the starting lineup. His minutes were down slightly; however, that was simply a result of the game descending into garbage time. Hunter is putting together a strong season despite the depth he is competing with. He should not be on any waiver wires and if that is the case in your league, make sure you do something about it.
Jan 22, 2021
Playing without restrictions
Hunter (knee) will play Friday against the Timberwolves without a minutes restriction, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was questionable for Friday's matchup, but coach Lloyd Pierce said before the game that he'll be active with no restrictions. The 23-year-old will return to the floor after missing just one game and should continue to play a key role for Atlanta.
Jan 21, 2021
Questionable for Friday
Hunter (knee) is questionable for Friday's game against the Timberwolves, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter missed Wednesday's win over the Pistons due to right knee soreness, but he could return as soon as Friday. He's been a key piece for the Hawks this season and, across the past nine games, is averaging 18.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 32.3 minutes.
Jan 20, 2021
Ruled out Wednesday
Hunter (knee) will not play Wednesday against the Pistons, Brad Rowland of Locked On Hawks reports.
ANALYSIS
After going from probable to doubtful, Hunter has been ruled out as he deals with a sore right knee. The Hawks will also be without Cam Reddish (knee) on Wednesday.
Jan 20, 2021
Unlikely to play Wednesday
Hunter (knee) was downgraded to doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Hunter was originally considered probable with a sore right knee, but he's no longer expected to be available for Wednesday's contest. Cam Reddish (knee) is also doubtful, so Kevin Huerter, Tony Snell, Brandon Goodwin and Solomon Hill should have increased roles for the Hawks.
Jan 19, 2021
Probable vs. Pistons
Hunter (knee) is listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Pistons, Brad Rowland of Locked On Hawks reports.
ANALYSIS
A sore right knee lands Hunter on the injury report, but it doesn't look like his status is in much jeopardy. The second-year forward is coming off of a 25-point, four-rebound, three-steal, two-assist showing in Monday's win over Minnesota.
Jan 18, 2021
Fills stat line in victory
Hunter compiled 25 points (8-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 6-7 FT), four rebounds, three steals and two assists across 37 minutes in Monday's 108-97 win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Although he coughed up the ball a team-high six times, Hunter led the Hawks in scoring. He converted over 50 percent of his shots and registered decent numbers in almost every category. The Virginia product is remarkably consistent through 13 games and is equally effective at the perimeter and under the rim.
Jan 17, 2021
Scores 15 points in loss
Hunter totaled 15 points (3-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 8-9 FT) and six rebounds Saturday in a loss to Portland.
ANALYSIS
The sophomore swingman continues to post solid but unspectacular numbers, notching double-digit scoring in each of his 12 contests this season and averaging 6.3 rebounds per game. Perhaps most impressively, he has raised his field-goal percentage nine points to an even 50 percent and elevated his rate from the charity stripe over 10 percentage points to 86.7 percent.
Jan 11, 2021
Pulls down seven rebounds
Hunter tallied 15 points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-7 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one steal over 23 minutes in Monday's 112-94 win over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
No Hawks starter played more than 26 minutes and four players off the bench played more than 20 minutes as the Hawks were up 15 at halftime and 32 going into the fourth quarter. Hunter was tied for second on the team in scoring, only behind Trae Young. Hunter has not scored less than 15 points in six 2021 games while shooting a tick under 56 percent from the floor.
Jan 9, 2021
Another 20-point performance
Hunter recorded 20 points (6-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 7-7 FT), eight rebounds, an assist, two blocks and a steal across 34 minutes in Saturday's loss against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
There's no question Trae Young is the undisputed leader in the Hawks offense, but Hunter has been delivering impressive performances of late and has reached the 20-point mark in three of his last five contests. In fact, the second-year guard has scored at least 11 points in every game he's played this season and is averaging 16.4 points per contest.
Jan 5, 2021
Stays locked in
Hunter scored 23 points (9-15 FG, 3-6 3PT, 2-3 FT) to go along with eight rebounds, one assist and one block across 37 minutes in Monday's loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Hunter showed the ability to finish both at the rim and from distance in another strong showing. While his usage remains similar to that of his rookie campaign, Hunter's true shooting and effective field goal percentage have bother skyrocketed early in his sophomore season. While there's plenty of time for those numbers to tumble, Hunter appears to have taken a sizable step forward early on.
Jan 2, 2021
Tops team with 17 points
Hunter generated 17 points (5-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five assists, four rebounds and a blocked shot across 31 minutes in Saturday's 96-91 loss to the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Although he's already rostered in deeper leagues, the absence of Danilo Gallinari (ankle) gives Hunter more opportunities, and he's currently jumping off the waiver wire. We saw his talent on display during his rookie season, but his starting role seemed to be in jeopardy with the addition of Gallinari and Bogdan Bogdanovic. Hunter has managed to stave off their presence on the depth chart with excellent play throughout the first two weeks of the season.
Jan 2, 2021
Nearly perfect from field Friday
Hunter recorded 23 points (9-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and one assist in 31 minutes during Friday's 114-96 victory over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Hunter put together a hyper-efficient performance Friday, which helped shoot up his overall shooting numbers on the season to 52.9 percent from the field and 48.0 percent from deep. He'll come back down to earth eventually, but the second-year forward is looking improved compared to his rookie campaign.
Jan 1, 2021

Jan 1, 2021
Upgraded to probable

Dec 31, 2020
Questionable for Friday
Hunter is questionable for Friday's contest against the Nets due to right knee soreness, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter emerged from Wednesday's loss to the Nets with an injury, but he was still able to put up solid numbers. Overall on the season, he's averaging 12.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 31.5 minutes. With Danilo Gallinari (ankle) out again, Hunter should see plenty of minutes and shot attempts if he's feeling close to 100 percent come tipoff. If Hunter is sidelined, more minutes would likely go to Solomon Hill.
Dec 21, 2020
Third-year option picked up
The Hawks exercised Hunter's team option for the 2021-22 season Monday.
ANALYSIS
Atlanta also picked up options for Trae Young, Kevin Huerter and Cam Reddish, maintaining the rights of all four players through their third or fourth NBA seasons. The No. 4 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Hunter averaged 12.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.7 three-pointers in 32.0 minutes per game as a rookie.
Dec 18, 2020
Drills five threes in loss
Hunter totaled 22 points (8-15 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), a rebound, an assist and a steal across 29 minutes in Thursday's 128-106 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
On a team desperate for talent, Hunter slid right into the Hawks' starting lineup last season, and the result was a mix of highs and lows. He managed 12.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in his rookie season, and at times the Virginia product turned in some breakout performances, but he also scored less than 10 points in 21 of 63 games. The Hawks hope Hunter will rise to the occasion and make his sophomore campaign a breakout season.
Dec 13, 2020
Starting Sunday
Hunter (knee) will start Sunday's game against Orlando, KL Chouinard of Hawks.com reports.

Drops third double-double
Hunter finished with 13 points (3-5 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 4-5 FG), 11 boards, and two assists in 37 minutes of a 143-138 win against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Hunter notched his third career double-double in the contest, turning in a balanced effort in the double overtime win. His scoring has dipped this month after a surge in February, but with his spot in the rotation secure, the rookie will continue to get a chance to grow his game.
Mar 9, 2020

Questionable Monday

ANALYSIS

Feb 29, 2020
Double-double in big win
Hunter scored 18 points (6-10 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT) while adding 10 rebounds and two assists in 32 minutes during Friday's 141-118 rout of the Nets.
ANALYSIS
The rookie forward produced his second double-double of the season, with the first coming back on Nov. 20. Hunter's offense remains erratic -- he scored only two points Wednesday against the Magic while going 0-for-8 from the floor -- but he's becoming a little more consistent on the glass, averaging 12.9 points, 7.1 boards, 2.1 threes, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals through nine games in February.

Feb 25, 2020
Probable Wednesday
Hunter is probable for Wednesday's contest against Orlando due to a right ankle sprain, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
This is likely the same ankle injury that has been bothering the rookie for the past few weeks. Barring any major setbacks though, Hunter will presumably take the floor. Hunter posted 22 points and seven rebounds in 39 minutes during the Hawks' loss against Philadelphia on Monday.
Feb 24, 2020
Posts 22 points in loss
Hunter (personal) amassed 22 points (6-15 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 9-10 FT), seven rebounds and two assists across 39 minutes in Monday's 129-112 loss versus the Sixers.
ANALYSIS
Hunter (personal) returned to the lineup after missing Saturday's win over the Mavericks and was very aggressive in the difficult matchup versus the Sixers. Feb 11, 2020
Likely to play Wednesday
Hunter (ankle) is probable for Wednesday's contest against Cleveland, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS

Hunter had 10 points (4-8 FG, 2-2 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 33 minutes during Monday's 135-126 loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Hunter had been upgraded from questionable to probable so his availability wasn't a surprise. ANALYSIS

ANALYSIS

Explodes for 25 points
Hunter had 25 points (8-11 FG, 2-4 3PT, 7-8 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 28 minutes during Sunday's 152-133 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Hunter delivered one of his best scoring outputs of the season in this contest, and he has scored 10 or more points in four of his last five games. He seems to be turning a corner when it comes to scoring at a more consistent rate, as the rookie is averaging 11.0 points per game during January. He will try to extend his solid run of play Tuesday at Toronto.
Jan 18, 2020
Scores 19 to go with full line
Hunter pitched in 19 points (8-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in 31 minutes during Saturday's 136-103 loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Hunter put together one of his more well-rounded performances of the season, albeit on a night when most of his teammates struggled. The rookie forward continues to hold his own on the defensive end, but as was the case in college that hasn't translated into many steals or blocks, so at this point he's only a relevant option in deeper leagues.
Jan 14, 2020
Will be available
Hunter (finger) will be available for Tuesday's game against Phoenix, Sarah Spence of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Hunter is considered questionable for Tuesday's contest against the Suns due to right finger sprain, Mike Conti of the Atlanta Hawks Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS

Jan 12, 2020
Cleared for Sunday
Hunter (foot) will start at power forward Sunday against the Nets, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie was listed as questionable heading into the day with the sore right foot, but the Hawks were likely satisfied enough with how Hunter looked at morning shootaround Sunday to give him the green light to play. Questionable for Sunday's contest
Hunter is questionable for Sunday's game against the Nets with right foot pain, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter has not shown up on the Hawks' injury report with a foot issue before now, so it seems as though he may have gotten nicked up during Friday's contest against the Wizards. If Hunter cannot suit up Sunday, John Collins expects to see an even larger role than normal.

Good to go Thursday
Hunter (teeth) is no longer listed on the injury report for Thursday's game against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Hunter has been cleared to play Thursday after entering the day with a probable tag due to a dental issue. The rookie has been solid through four games this season, averaging 9.5 points and 4.3 rebounds across 26.3 minutes per tilt.

Probable Thursday
Hunter is probable Thursday against Miami due to a dental injury, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It's not necessarily known at the moment just how Hunter suffered the dental infraction, as the rookie logged 28 minutes in his latest outing Tuesday against Miami. Hunter likely received a blow to the head area in practice Wednesday. If the forward is out Thursday, DeAndre' Bembry or Evan Turner will presumably fill in the small-forward position to round out the starting lineup.
