Detroit assigned Jones to the G League's Motor City Cruise on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS

ANALYSIS
Jones saw his first action in a Detroit uniform Monday against the Pacers, scoring two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) in one minute of action. He'll likely continue to be an emergency depth option going forward.

Assigned to G League
Detroit assigned Jones to the G League's Motor City Cruise on Thursday.

Nov 6, 2025
Claimed by Pistons
The Pistons have claimed Jones off waivers Thursday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones was waived by the Kings on Tuesday, but he didn't spend too much time as a free agent since the Pistons scooped him up. The big man will occupy Detroit's 15th roster spot and should add depth in the frontcourt, but he's not expected to have a lot of fantasy upside.
Nov 4, 2025
Waived by Kings
The Kings will waive Jones on Tuesday, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
ANALYSIS
The second-year center will be forced to give up his roster spot with the Kings agreeing to a deal with Precious Achiuwa. Jones was a standout during the Summer League, but he wasn't able to crack Sacramento's rotation. He's likely to draw interest on the open market.

Moving to bench vs. LAL
Jones won't start in Sunday's game against the Lakers, Brenden Nunes of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports.
ANALYSIS
Keon Ellis will replace Jones in the starting five on Sunday. The big man made his season debut in Friday's win over Utah, recording two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist across 14 minutes.
Oct 25, 2025
Limited run in season debut
Jones (illness) recorded two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist across 14 minutes in Friday's 105-104 win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Jones sat out Wednesday's season-opening four-point loss to the Suns while recovering from an illness, but the second-year big man received the green light for the second game of the campaign. With Keegan Murray (thumb) on the mend from surgery and with rookie first-round pick Nique Clifford (hamstring) also likely to be sidelined into November, Jones stepped in on the top unit but didn't handle starter-level minutes. Jones might see his playing time rise once he's further removed from the illness, though head coach Doug Christie could prefer to use a medley of players at power forward until one or both of Murray and Clifford return rather than relying heavily on Jones.
Oct 24, 2025
Will start vs. Utah
Jones will be in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out the season opener due to an illness, Jones was announced as a starter, which comes as a surprise. He'll join Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Dennis Schroder and Domantas Sabonis in the first five.
Oct 23, 2025
Cleared for season debut
Jones (illness) will play in Friday's game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Jones sat out of Wednesday's season opener due to an illness, but it won't keep him from taking the court Friday. He'll presumably see limited minutes off the bench behind DeMar DeRozan.
Oct 21, 2025
Won't play season opener
Jones (illness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Jones continues to deal with an illness that will keep him sidelined. Considering he isn't expected to play a significant role on the team, this likely won't have much of an impact from a fantasy perspective.
Oct 20, 2025
Managing illness
Jones didn't practice Monday due to an illness, Frankie Cartoscelli of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones can be considered day-to-day ahead of Wednesday's season opener in Phoenix. If he's not feeling well enough to play, it's possible Doug McDermott will enter the Kings' rotation.
Oct 18, 2025
Scores double digits in start
Jones tallied 10 points (4-4 FG, 2-3 FT), three rebounds and two assists over 23 minutes in Friday's 117-116 preseason win over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
The second-year forward made the most of his lone preseason start, which included splitting a pair of clutch free throws late in the fourth quarter to seal the game. Jones isn't projected to make Sacramento's rotation headed into the regular season, but starting in the team's last preseason game is an encouraging sign that he may make the final roster.
Oct 17, 2025
Promoted to starting role
Jones is in the starting lineup for Friday's preseason game against the Lakers, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports.
ANALYSIS
The Kings are thin in the frontcourt since Domantas Sabonis (hamstring) and Keegan Murray (thumb) are out, so they're looking at help in any way they can. Jones will try to show what he can do in an extended role here and will feature next to Drew Eubanks in the frontcourt.

ANALYSIS
Jones continued his run of strong play Sunday, logging game-highs in scoring and rebounds. Jones will look to play himself into a larger role this upcoming season after posting averages of 3.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.6 minutes per contest across 40 appearances during the 2024-25 campaign.
Jul 19, 2025
Offensive explosion in SL semis
Jones tallied 36 points (13-17 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 9-11 FT), six rebounds and two assists across 30 minutes in Saturday's 98-88 Summer League win over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Jones led all scorers Saturday with 36 points, helping propel the Kings to a spot in the Summer League title game. Sacramento picked up his $1.96 million club option for the 2025-26 season after he logged 40 regular-season appearances last year, averaging 3.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.6 minutes per game.

ANALYSIS
Jones turned in a productive scoring performance during Wednesday's victory. He appeared in 40 regular-season games for the Kings in 2024-25, averaging 3.4 points and 1.4 rebounds over 7.6 minutes per game. The center had his team option worth $1.96 million for the 2025-26 season picked up June 29.

ANALYSIS
After playing eight minutes in Sunday's NBA game against the Suns, Jones will join Stockton ahead of their decisive Game 3 against the Osceola Magic in the G League Finals.
Mar 28, 2025
Recalled from G League
The Kings recalled Jones from the G League's Stockton Kings on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Jones will return to the parent club ahead of Saturday's game against the Magic. The 24-year-old has received double-digit minutes in only one outing since the All-Star break, though he's averaging 21.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 blocks across 32.0 minutes per game in 16 G League appearances.
Mar 28, 2025
Scores 23 points
Jones produced 23 points (11-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, two assists, one steal and three blocks in 28 minutes of Wednesday's 122-106 G League win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
ANALYSIS
It's no surprise to see another performance like this from Jones. Across 12 appearances with Stockton, Jones holds averages of 21.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 blocks on 57.3 percent shooting from the field.
Mar 22, 2025
Inks two-year deal with Sacramento
The Kings have signed Jones to a two-year deal,Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones is now officially playing on an NBA contract with the Kings after being on a two-way deal. The Washington State product has played in 31 games with Sacramento this season, averaging 3.7 points and 1.5 rebounds across 8.3 minutes per game.
Mar 11, 2025
Notches 12 points
Jones produced 12 points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 19 minutes during Monday's 133-104 loss to New York.
ANALYSIS
This game was over in a hurry, allowing the rookie center to get some extra reps. He made the most of them, matching his career-high mark in points (12) and rebounds (5). Domantas Sabonis (hamstring) is scheduled to be re-evaluated Tuesday, and minutes will be tough to come by for Jones once the franchise center gets the green light to return.
Dec 11, 2024
Off injury report
Jones (illness) isn't listed on the Kings' injury report for Thursday's game against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Jones missed Sacramento's previous contest with an illness, but he's been given the green light to face New Orleans. In his last seven appearances, Jones is averaging 7.7 points and 2.9 rebounds across 15.9 minutes.
Dec 8, 2024
Dealing with illness
Jones has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jazz due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Jones averaged 15.9 minutes per game off the bench over Sacramento's last seven contests. In his absence, Keon Ellis and Kevin Huerter may see a few more minutes, while Jae Crowder and Doug McDermott are candidates to enter the rotation again.
Dec 2, 2024
Settling into rotation spot
Jones tallied 12 points (5-7 FG, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 19 minutes in Sunday's 127-125 loss to the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
A two-way player who had received double-digit minutes in just one of the Kings' first 18 games of the season, Jones has now received at least 19 minutes in each of the last three contests. The rookie big man has essentially taken hold of the rotation spot that previously belonged to Trey Lyles, who suffered a Grade 1 calf strain that will likely keep him out for most of December. Jones probably won't see his minutes climb much higher so long as Domantas Sabonis and Keegan Murray maintain health, but his blend of size and perimeter shooting looks like it will be enough to keep him ahead of Alex Len, Doug McDermott and Orlando Robinson in the pecking order for playing time off the bench.
