Looney didn't make an impact as a scoring threat, but he was outstanding doing all the little things needed to get a win in a tough environment. The 22 rebounds represent the third straight game in which he pulls down double-digit boards in the series, but unfortunately for him, he doesn't contribute enough on offense as a scorer to have more value in fantasy formats.

Despite offering very little when it comes to scoring the basketball, Looney demonstrated just how important he is to this team. Should the Warriors hope to level the series at 2-2, Looney will once again need to dominate the glass.

He's an every-day starter, but Looney is a high-variance fantasy prospect.

After all, he's only averaging 7.8 points and 10.1 rebounds per game in December and has scored in double digits just seven times all season long.

Looney turned heads with his play Friday and played a huge role in the win, ending just one assist away from a triple-double but also looking extremely efficient as a scorer and active on the glass. Firmly entrenched as Golden State's starting center, Looney has scored in double digits just six times all season long, so even though fantasy managers should feel encouraged about this outing, he's not expected to post these numbers going forward.

Looney didn't do much on offense Saturday, scoring just seven points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field, five of which came in the first half. Instead, the Warriors' big man focused on dominating the glass, grabbing eight rebounds in the first half and another seven over the final two quarters for a game-high 15 boards on the night. Looney has grabbed double-digit rebounds in three of his last five contests, though he's failed to score in double figures in five straight.

Looney supplied nine points (3-4 FG, 3-5 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and one block over 27 minutes during Saturday's 120-101 win over the Rockets.

Looney grabbed 12 boards for the third time in his last five games, continuing to function admirably as the Warriors' starting center. He currently sits as the 139th ranked player in 12-team formats, a ranking that is somewhat flattering given his limited offerings. While technically a viable asset, managers would be better served viewing him as more of a streaming option moving forward.

Looney supplied 10 points (5-8 FG, 0-1 FT), 12 rebounds and four assists in 28 minutes during Friday's 129-118 victory over Utah.

Looney only scored six points in the first half on 3-of-5 shooting from the field but added six rebounds, five of which came in the first quarter to help Golden State jump out to an early 14-point lead. He collected six more rebounds in the second half to give him a game-high 12 on the night, with seven of those coming on the offensive end. It marked Looney's first double-double of the season and it was surprisingly just his third time grabbing 10 or more rebounds.

Looney (rest) will start Monday's game against New Orleans, C.J. Holmes of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Looney was deemed questionable earlier in the day as the team was considering sitting him out for rest purposes, but he ultimately got the green light to take the court. He's appeared in every game this season for Golden State, averaging 6.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists over 17 matchups.

Looney (rest) is questionable for Monday's matchup against the Pelicans, Jim Eichenhofer of the Pelicans' official site reports.

Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson have all already been ruled out for Monday's matchup due to rest, but it's also possible Looney and Andrew Wiggins will sit out as well. If Looney is sidelined, Jonathan Kuminga and JaMychal Green would be candidates to enter the starting lineup.

Looney was uncharacteristically productive in the loss, falling just one rebound short of his first double-double of the season. Locked in as the Warriors' starting center, Looney typically provides the team with a solid defensive anchor, yet one that does not translate into fantasy value. Despite this performance, he should remain off the radar when it comes to standard formats.

Looney ended Tuesday's 134-105 loss to Phoenix with six points (3-3 FG), four rebounds and three assists over 17 minutes.

Looney barely saw the floor in the second half, a victim of not only the blowout but also being outplayed. While he is firmly entrenched as the starting center for the Warriors, there is basically zero upside when it comes to fantasy value. At best, Looney should be viewed as a low-risk, backend option in deeper formats only.

Looney contributed 21 points (10-14 FG, 1-1 FT), 12 rebounds and two assists across 32 minutes during Friday's 126-117 win over Dallas in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.

Looney is not known for his offensive contributions, but he made his presence felt in this one and made an impact on both ends of the court while also displaying high levels of efficiency. This was his first double-double of the postseason, though, so he's not expected to keep putting up these numbers on a regular basis.

Looney started the second half of Sunday's Game 1 against the Grizzlies in place of Draymond Green, who was ejected in the first half, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.

Looney began the game on the bench for the first time during the playoffs, as the Warriors opted to start Gary Payton for his defensive prowess on Ja Morant. However, Green's ejection has shifted Golden State's thinking, as Looney and Poole started the second half over Payton and Green.

Golden State has started Looney for virtually the entire season, and while he's a steady defender and rebounder with good size, it's hard to argue against the dynamic shooting and shot-creation this new alignment would bring. Looney has only averaged 11.3 minutes per game in the series, so if he does shift to the bench, it likely wouldn't have a major impact on his overall role.

Looney received his sixth straight start Saturday, but, as usual, he didn't play a typical starter's minutes. The big man has exceeded the 20-minute mark just once over the six-game stretch, leading to predictably tepid production. Looney did manage to score six points against the Spurs, marking his highest point total since he recorded eight points against Washington on March 27.

Looney was the only one of Golden State's usual starters to play in this first game of a back-to-back, and he took advantage of the extra opportunity with his first double-double since Feb. 1. The big man has been strong on the boards throughout the campaign, but his scoring has been inconsistent at best, as he entered Monday averaging just 6.3 points per game. Looney isn't a major shot-blocker either, so his fantasy value is strictly limited to his ability to pull down boards.

Thanks in no small part to Looney's efforts as an anchor at the back end, the Golden State defense has been tough on opposing frontcourt players all season, and that trend continued Sunday. Though neither of Dallas' top two centers in Dwight Powell and Maxi Kleber are usually major contributors on the offensive end, Looney had a hand in the two Mavs big men going a combined 1-for-7 from the field for two points. As per usual, Looney was quiet on offensive himself, but his steady rebounding and ability to occasionally chip in in the defensive categories makes him serviceable as back-end roster filler in 12-team leagues.

Looney totaled 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-8 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one steal in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 117-116 loss to the Nuggets.

Looney isn't typically much of a scorer, but he notched his first double-digit scoring effort in six games Wednesday despite missing five of eight free-throw attempts. Looney has yet to miss a game this season, and his rebounding has taken a step up since the absence of Draymond Green. If Looney sits out, more minutes will be available for Juan Toscano-Anderson, Otto Porter and Jonathan Kuminga. All three could end up seeing minutes at center.

Looney has kept the Warriors' rebounding numbers robust amid Draymond Green's absence, averaging 10.8 rebounds over the past 14 games.

Looney amassed six points (3-7 FG), 15 rebounds and two assists across 30 minutes during Saturday's 110-106 win over the Nets.

Looney made a big impact on the boards in the victory, leading all players with 15 rebounds -- seven of which were of the offensive variety. The veteran center has collected double-digit boards in six of his past nine games and is averaging a career-best 7.4 rebounds on the campaign. He's not much of a fantasy asset in other regards, however, as he is averaging only 6.1 points and 0.7 blocks this season.

Looney amassed 13 points (5-6 FG, 3-4 FT), 15 rebounds, three assists and two steals over 28 minutes during Thursday's 121-117 overtime loss to Indiana.

Looney continued his recent superb work on the boards, finishing with double-digit rebounds for the fourth straight contest. He also was more productive than usual offensively, tallying his highest point total since Dec. 13. Looney has scored in double figures just twice in his past 15 games, and he isn't a prolific shot-blocker, so his only appeal in fantasy is as a rebound specialist.

Although his rebounding performance was exemplary, he's only a fringe candidate for fantasy value.

Looney didn't have much shot volume in Friday's blowout win, but he shot 80 percent from the floor to post his second double-double of the season. Since the start of January, the 25-year-old has averaged 6.9 points and 8.8 rebounds in 22.9 minutes per game.

Looney attempted 10 field goals on the night, his most since Nov. 10 against Minnesota. He most consistently contributes on the glass, but in each of the two contests he's attempted 10 or more field goals in 2021, he's managed to finish in double figures in scoring. Looney also turned in his highest assist total since Nov. 21 vs. Toronto.

To be clear, he is only an option in the deepest of formats.

Looney's 29 minutes were also a season high and were partly due to Draymond Green's early exit due to a thigh injury. Looney could again see increased minutes if Green needs to miss any additional time.

Looney totaled six points (2-3 FG, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and one assist in 17 minutes during Monday's 127-113 victory over Atlanta.

Looney continues to start at center for the Warriors and yet his production would say otherwise. He has never been a fantasy-friendly player and unfortunately, nothing is likely to change. On a positive note, he has been relatively healthy this season which is fantastic given his recent battles with injuries.

Looney continues to be a rebounding machine while leaving the scoring to his teammates. While not exactly a fantasy standout due to his one-dimensional excellence, Looney has done the best he can to minimize the impact of James Wiseman's season-ending injury. Depending on how the chips fall, Looney will have his hands full with potential playoff opposition from elite centers like Nikola Jokic and Rudy Gobert. Looney's best numbers have come opposite centers with lesser pedigrees.

Looney has been a busy man on the glass, grabbing double-digit rebounds in three of five contests since entering the starting lineup. Prior to this recent span, Looney had just one game with at least 10 rebounds in his first 42 games. With rookie James Wiseman (knee) potentially out for the season, Looney is showing an ability to make an impact on the glass, though he has not provided much elsewhere in the box score.

Looney played a season-high 31 minutes, something that could become a bit of a trend moving forward. While there has been no firm update on James Wiseman (knee), there is a decent chance he missed the rest of the season. If that is the case, Looney is likely to play a larger role, although, he should really be viewed as just a streaming option as opposed to a must-roster asset.

WIth James Wiseman (knee) potentially done for the season, Looney is set to move into the starting lineup for now. Despite the starting position, Looney isn't likely to pop off for significant production. Looney (ankle) is off the injury report for Friday's game against the Raptors.
