Out again
Cooper (calf) won't play in Saturday's game against Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Cooper has been ruled out for a fourth straight game. The 24-year-old guard doesn't possess a rotation spot, so his absence has minimal impact.
Dec 3, 2025
Still sidelined
Cooper (calf) won't play in Thursday's game against Boston.
ANALYSIS
Cooper will miss a third consecutive contest due to a strained right calf. The 24-year-old guard has exclusively played in garbage time this season, so his absence shouldn't have much of an impact. His next chance to play will come Saturday against the Hawks.
Dec 2, 2025
Another absence coming
Cooper (calf) will not play Tuesday against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Cooper will miss a second straight game Tuesday. He hasn't been apart of Washington's rotation, so his absence doesn't have many fantasy implications.
Nov 30, 2025
Won't play Monday
Cooper has been ruled out for Monday's game versus Milwaukee due to a right calf strain.
ANALYSIS
Cooper is a negligible part of the rotation in Washington, so his absence from the active roster won't impact fantasy leagues. His next chance to play will come Tuesday in Philadelphia.
Nov 26, 2025
Rare appearance in rare win
Cooper ended with no counting stats across three minutes during Tuesday's 132-113 win over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Cooper saw the court for just the third time this season, as the Wizards won for just the second time in the first 17 games. Despite the fact that Washington is going to be prioritizing its youth, it doesn't appear as though Cooper is high on the priority list right now, making him a non-factor in all formats.
Sep 19, 2025
Inks two-way deal with Washington
The Wizards signed Cooper to a two-way contract Friday.
ANALYSIS
Cooper hasn't played in the NBA since 2021, when he was selected in the second round of the draft. He rarely saw the floor during his rookie campaign, playing 3.0 minutes across 13 appearances. He'll try to make an impression with his new squad on a two-way deal while trying to crack the rotation in a crowded backcourt headlined by CJ McCollum, Bub Carrington, Tre Johnson and Cam Whitmore.
Mar 7, 2024
Contract expires
Cooper's 10-day deal with the Cavaliers expired Thursday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Cooper failed to make an appearance for the Cavaliers despite joining the team on a 10-day contract. Cooper spent most of his time with the G League's Cleveland Charge.
Mar 4, 2024
Rejoins parent club
The Cavaliers recalled Cooper from the G League's Cleveland Charge on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Cooper will likely provide some emergency depth for the Cavaliers, but his return to the NBA is unlikely to impact the rotation much.
Feb 26, 2024
Inks 10-day deal with Cleveland
Cooper signed a 10-day deal with the Cavaliers on Monday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
A 2021 second-round pick by Atlanta, Cooper hasn't appeared in an NBA game since his rookie campaign, when he made 13 appearances for the Hawks. He has spent the last two seasons with the G League's Cleveland Charge and averaged 18.1 points on 45.3 percent shooting across 34 appearances for them this season. Outside of Ty Jerome (ankle), Cleveland's backcourt is healthy, so Cooper won't be guaranteed playing time.
Oct 21, 2023
Enters free agency
Cooper was waived by the Cavaliers on Saturday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Cooper was unable to prove he belongs on the NBA roster, so he'll head to waivers. The Auburn product figures to spend the majority of the 2023-24 campaign in the G League with the Cleveland Charge.
Sep 13, 2023
Signs with Cleveland
Cooper signed a contract with the Cavaliers on Wednesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Cooper spent the second half of the 2022-23 campaign with the G League's Cleveland Charge, and he'll now join the Cavaliers ahead of the 2023-24 season. He'll presumably have the chance to compete for a roster spot during camp, but it's certainly possible he winds up back in the G League once the season gets underway.
Jul 7, 2023
Goes off for 27 points
Cooper logged 27 points (8-11 FG, 2-3 3PT, 9-11 FT), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 27 minutes of Friday's 101-97 Summer League win over Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Cooper made 13 brief appearances for the Hawks back in the 2021-22 season before joining the Charge in the G-League last season, averaging 22.5 points and 9.0 assists. Cooper's chances of making the Cavaliers are slim after they added Ty Jerome to an already stacked backcourt that includes Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Ricky Rubio and Caris LeVert, but Cooper certainly gave them something to think about Friday.
Feb 28, 2023
Puts up 22 points Saturday
Cooper had 22 points (8-13 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, seven assists and a block across 34 minutes in Saturday's win over Lakeland.
ANALYSIS
Cooper was coming off a few subpar performances, but he bounced back admirably here and posted a strong stat line. This was the first time he scored at least 20 points since Feb. 4, when he posted 21 points in a loss to Raptors 905.
Feb 8, 2023
Poor shooting effort Saturday
Cooper had 21 points (6-24 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 3-5 FT), four rebounds, six assists and five steals across 41 minutes in Saturday's loss to Raptors 905.
ANALYSIS
Cooper posted a strong fantasy line in this game, but he was extremely inefficient and only made 25 percent of his shots despite the fact that he ended with another 20-plus scoring output. Cooper has been Cleveland's best player on offense and should remain an elite offensive contributor every time he steps on the hardwood.
Oct 15, 2022
Falls short in bid for roster spot
Cooper was waived by the Cavaliers on Saturday, Kelsey Russo of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Cooper inked a training camp deal with the Cavaliers in mid-September to earn a two-way contract. Unfortunately, he was unable to secure it and will likely be bound for the G League unless another team claims him on waivers.
Sep 19, 2022
Signs training camp deal with Cavs
Cooper signed a training camp deal with Cleveland on Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Cooper was waived by the Hawks earlier in the off-season, but the 2021 second-round pick now finds himself in Cleveland on a training camp deal. While Cooper failed to produce for Atlanta during his rookie season, the 6-foot-1 guard averaged 17.1 points and 7.3 assists for the team's G League affiliate. The Auburn product is set to compete amongst Raul Neto, RJ Nembhard and Chandler Vaudrin for a roster spot this year.
Jul 25, 2022
Waived by Hawks
Cooper was waived by the Hawks on Monday.
ANALYSIS
The 2021 second-round pick appeared in only 13 games for the Hawks last season, as he spent much of the year in the G League with the College Park Skyhawks. Cooper is coming off of a very poor showing at the Las Vegas Summer League, where he averaged 4.4 points per game on just 18.9 percent shooting across five appearances. He'll look to secure a training camp invite from another team in hopes of earning a contract prior to the start of the regular season.
Jul 22, 2022
Inks two-way with Atlanta
Cooper re-signed with the Hawks on a two-way contract Friday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Cooper -- the 48th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft -- was on a two-way contract with the Hawks last year as well. During the G League regular season, he averaged 17.1 points, 6.9 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals. In the NBA, he played 39 total minutes and recorded seven points, five rebounds and five assists. Cooper's role could increase slightly next year, but he's not expected to be fantasy relevant even in deep leagues.
Apr 6, 2022
Transferred to parent club
Cooper was transferred from the G League's College Park Skyhawks to Atlanta on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
College Park's season ended Tuesday following a 131-122 loss to the Capital City Go-Go during the G League playoffs. The rookie second-round pick has made 11 appearances at the NBA level this season, but he's unlikely to crack Atlanta's rotation during the final week of the regular season.
Mar 4, 2022
Returns to G League
Cooper was transferred to the College Park Skyhawks of the G League by the Hawks on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Cooper was recalled by Atlanta on Thursday and didn't see the court during the 130-124 win over the Bulls. The 20-year-old has averaged 15.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists over 29.1 minutes in the G League this season.
Mar 3, 2022
Called up by Atlanta
The Hawks recalled Cooper from the G League's College Park Skyhawks on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Atlanta is likely bringing the two-way player back in advance of Thursday's game against the Bulls as an insurance option out of the backcourt in the event Trae Young (ankle) -- who is listed as a game-time decision -- doesn't play. The Hawks are still likely to turn to Delon Wright as the starting point guard if Young sits, so Cooper will probably be in store for nothing more than a limited role as Wright's backup in that scenario.
Jan 26, 2022
Back with parent club
The Hawks recalled Cooper from the G League's College Park Skyhawks on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Cooper will rejoin the NBA team ahead of Wednesday's game against the Kings, though he's unlikely to be included in head coach Nate McMillan's rotation. The rookie point guard most recently played Tuesday for the Skyhawks, totaling 10 points (3-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three assists, two rebounds and one steal across 25 minutes in College Park's 105-102 win over the Long Island Nets.
Jan 20, 2022
Goes to G League
The Hawks transferred Cooper to the G League's College Park Skyhawks on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Since he was cleared to play Jan. 12 after suffering a minor ankle sprain, Cooper has made just one two-minute appearance off the Atlanta bench. The rookie point guard should get the chance to play extended minutes for College Park in its game Friday against the G League Ignite.
Jan 12, 2022
Not listed on injury report
Cooper (thumb) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's contest against the Heat, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Cooper was away from the team for seven games due to COVID-19 protocols and returned for one contest before being sidelined Sunday due to a thumb injury. The rookie second-round pick is expected to be available Wednesday, but it's unclear how much run he will actually get.
Jan 11, 2022
Questionable vs. Heat
Cooper is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Heat due to a sprained right thumb, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Cooper isn't a regular rotation piece when healthy. His potential absence shouldn't affect things.
Jan 3, 2022
Not on injury report
Cooper (COVID-19 protocols) isn't on the injury report for Monday's game against the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Cooper was unavailable for a week and a half due to the league's health and safety protocols. He's a fringe part of the rotation, so he shouldn't have a significant role for Atlanta.
Jan 1, 2022
Exits protocols
Cooper (COVID-19 protocols) has exited health and safety protocols ahead of Monday's game against the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Cooper is a fringe part of the rotation, so his presence won't affect much, especially since plenty of other players are returning from protocols as well.
Dec 23, 2021
Enters protocols
Cooper entered the league's health and safety protocols Thursday, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Cooper was recalled from the G League earlier in the week and saw some action in Wednesday night's loss to the Magic. He would've been in line for more minutes Thursday night in Philly, but he'll now likely miss the next 7-to-10 days.
Dec 12, 2021
Transferred to Atlanta
Cooper was transferred to the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Cooper scored 33 points during Thursday's G League win over Long Island. The rookie second-round pick continues to be heavily involved with College Park, but he has yet to crack Nate McMillian's rotation this season.
Dec 5, 2021
Back with parent club
Cooper was transferred to the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Cooper will be joined in Atlanta by rookie first-round pick Jalen Johnson. The Skyhawks don't play again until Thursday, so the pair will likely stay with the Hawks for their back-to-back starting Sunday. Cooper and Johnson could both have opportunities to crack Nate McMillan's lineup this week as the Hawks are dealing with a litany of injuries to top players.
Oct 16, 2021
Serviceable during preseason
Cooper averaged 5.5 points, 2.8 assists and one steal across four preseason games for the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Cooper will try to enter the Hawks' 2021-22 season being their third point guard, after Trae Young and Delon Wright.
Aug 14, 2021
Out Saturday
Cooper is out for Saturday's Summer League game against the Heat due to health and safety protocols, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It seems possible Cooper's Summer League stint is over due to protocols. The rookie has appeared in three games and averaged 17.7 points, 9.0 assists and 1.3 steals in 30.2 minutes.
Aug 5, 2021
Secures two-way deal
Cooper signed a two-way contract with the Hawks on Wednesday, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Cooper, the 48th overall pick in this year's draft, will fill the two-way slot previously occupied by forward Nathan Knight, whom Atlanta allowed to reach unrestricted free agency this offseason. As a true freshman at Auburn last season, Cooper was one of the most explosive scorers in college basketball (20.2 points per game) and thrived as a distributor (8.1 assists per game), but his inefficient shooting (39.1 percent from the field, 22.8 percent from three-point range), a lack of size (6-foot-1, 180 pounds) and poor defense resulted in him falling to the second round of the draft. With Atlanta acquiring Delon Wright earlier in the offseason to back up starting point guard Trae Young, Cooper likely won't have a path to a rotation role as a rookie when the Hawks are at full strength in the backcourt.
