Set to enter transfer portal
Moore is set to enter the transfer portal, Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite being a freshman in 2023, Moore logged 114 completions for 1,610 yards and an 11:9 TD:INT ratio across his nine games. However, he always found himself in a quarterback competition with Ethan Garbers and Collin Schlee. Having proven himself to be capable with just a little better need for polishing, Moore will test the transfer market and enroll elsewhere.

Fills in after injury
Moore completed 23 of 38 passes for 266 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during Saturday's 33-7 loss versus California. He also had 11 rushes for -34 yards.
ANALYSIS
Moore is widely considered to be UCLA's quarterback of the future, but Chip Kelly was forced to bench the freshman after a string of underwhelming performances. Although he was dealing with a head injury, Moore came in after Ethan Garbers (forearm) went down and still showed his inexperience with two interceptions. He had some efficient moments, but it's clear that the youngster needs more seasoning to improve. IT would be in the Bruins' best interest to play him in the upcoming bowl game, because he would have many suitors if frustration compels him to enter the transfer portal.

DNP again
Moore (head) did not play during UCLA's game Saturday at USC.
ANALYSIS
Perhaps because Ethan Garbers excelled at quarterback Saturday, Moore logged his second consecutive DNP. Currently, his next opportunity to play is against California on Nov. 25. But with how well Garbers played at USC, it seems unlikely Moore will have much room to showcase what he can do even if healthy.

Appears to be available Saturday
Moore (head) is in uniform for warmups ahead of Saturday's game against USC, 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It was reported earlier Saturday that Ethan Garbers would get the start for the Bruins, but Moore is suited up as well and projects to be available if needed. UCLA is somewhat thin on quarterback depth with Collin Schlee sidelined.
Nov 11, 2023
Suited up for warmups
Moore (head) was spotted in uniform while taking part in warmups for Saturday's game against Arizona State, Gavin Carlson of The Daily Bruin reports.
ANALYSIS
Moore was seen throwing the ball, however, it is worth mentioning Collin Schlee has been taking reps with the starting center. Ethan Garbers (foot), Justyn Martin and Chase Griffin are all in uniform and throwing in warmups, as well.

Probable vs Arizona State
Head coach Chip Kelly indicated Wednesday that Moore (head) is expected to practice in full Wednesday, Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Moore (head) along with starter Ethan Garbers (foot) missed Monday's session before putting in a limited practice on Tuesday. With both players expected to fully practice Wednesday, the freshman quarterback will likely revert to the backup role behind Garbers. Both players should be available for Saturday's matchup against Arizona State.
Nov 7, 2023
Observed practicing Tuesday
Moore (head) was spotted going through drill during Tuesday's practice, 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After being sidelined during Monday's practice, Moore was observed throwing the ball during early portions of practice, providing positive news for the quarterback situation for the Bruins, as starting quarterback Ethan Garbers (foot) is also working his way back from injury. Expect more news to surface regarding the signal caller's availability.
Nov 6, 2023
Sidelined in practice
Moore (head) was observed not wearing his helmet during Monday's practice, Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Moore, along with quarterback Ethan Garbers were both held out of practice to open up the week. Should both quarterbacks miss this week's game against Arizona State, Chase Griffin or Collin Schlee could work under center.
Nov 5, 2023
Goes to locker room late
Moore was seen being taken back to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Saturday's loss to Arizona, James H. Williams of the Orange County Register reports.
ANALYSIS
Moore entered the game in place of Ethan Garbers, who went out with an injury of his own, and didn't last in the game very long. Moore was out there for one possession and appeared to hurt himself on a fourth and long passing play where he hit his head hard on the turf after being tackled. Moore was seen going back to the locker room with about six minutes left to go in regulation and was replaced by Collin Schlee. It's likely Moore is being evaluated for a head injury although head coach Chip Kelly did not provide an update on his status after the game.

Will not start Saturday
Morre will be replaced by senior Ethan Garbers as UCLA's starting quarterback ahead of Saturday's game versus Stanford, per 247Sports.com.
ANALYSIS
Moore is not known to be dealing with any injuries, so it appears the Bruins are simply turning to a new starting quarterback Week 8. The true freshman signal-caller has shown encouraging flashes since taking fully taking over as UCLA's starting quarterback Week 2. But, he completed just 45.5 percent of his passes while also tossing six interceptions across the last three games, including six during the Week 7 loss to Oregon State. It will be worth monitoring if the Bruins still work Moore into Saturday's game against Stanford.
Oct 15, 2023
Picked off three times in loss
Moore completed 14 of 33 passes for 165 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions during Saturday's 36-24 defeat against Oregon State. He also had nine rushes for 15 yards.
ANALYSIS
UCLA's offense fell victim to Moore's inexperience again on Saturday, as the freshman proved venerable to Oregon State's imposing secondary. Moore has depended on his defense to counteract any offensive shortcomings, but they faltered against the Beavers and exposed Moore's inability to keep pace. Chip Kelly will probably continue with Moore under center, but the passing game will continue to suffer as a result.
Oct 7, 2023
Slight improvement despite errors
Moore was 22-for-44 passing for 290 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during Saturday's 25-17 victory against Washington State. He also had five rushes for -25 yards.
ANALYSIS
Moore had nowhere to go but up after his tepid outing against Utah. Although he had a more successful day through the air, he committed two picks and has yet to display his dual-threat capability. The team is all-in with Moore, but he'll need more seasoning to take his game to the next level.
Sep 23, 2023
Inconsistent showing against Utah
Moore completed 15 of 35 passes for 234 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Saturday's 14-7 loss against Utah. He also had 10 rushes for -51 yards.
ANALYSIS
Moore exhibited poise and command of the offense over the past two weeks, and it was easy to forget that the youngster is only 18 years old and still developing. His inexperience was on full display in Saturday's loss, as the Utes took advantage by pressuring him relentlessly. The problems started right away as Moore's first pass resulted in a pick0six, and although he showed some flashes late in the game, it was mostly a frustrating affair. It's unlikely that any of UCLA's quarterback options would have had much success against Utah's defense, as they completely shut down the Bruins' rushing game, which is essential to open up the playbook. Unless coach Chip Kelly has a change of heart, the team will likely stick with Moore and put in some detailed work during the bye week.
Sep 16, 2023
Efficient in directing offense
Moore was 8-for-12 passing for 182 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 59-7 victory against North Carolina Central. He also rushed once for five yards
ANALYSIS
Moore did exactly what was required of him as he continued to acquaint himself with the starting role. He didn't make any mistakes and threw the ball just enough to keep the running game humming. That was all the Bruins needed to do against a weak opponent, but Moore needs a more challenging tune-up. Utah is next, and it will be his sternest test yet.

Stellar play locks up starting gig
Moore was 17-for-27 passing for 290 yards and three touchdowns during Saturday's 35-10 win versus San Diego State. He also had five rushes for negative three yards.
ANALYSIS
Although coach Chip Kelly won't confirm it, the quarterback job is now Moore's to lose. For an 18-year-old, the blue-chip recruit looked incredibly calm and composed as led drive after drive to paydirt. After completely disassembling the Aztecs, he took a seat in the fourth quarter and allowed Collin Schlee to take a crack at the job, but there's no question who the starter is. I wouldn't be surprised to see Schlee and possibly Ethan Garbers make a play for the transfer portal because Moore will only get more comfortable and proficient with the offense, and the sky's the limit.

Starting Saturday
Moore will start under center for the Bruins as they face off against San Diego State, 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Moore was seen warming up with the starting center during pre-game warmups and he will officially get the start Saturday. Despite Moore starting, UCLA is likely to utilize Ethan Garbers as well as Collin Schlee in the contest as well.
Sep 9, 2023
Working with starting center in warmups
Moore is taking snaps from UCLA's starting center, Duke Clemens, ahead of Saturday's matchup with San Diego State, Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Moore, who remains engaged in a quarterback battle with Ethan Garbers and Collin Schlee which has extended into the season, appears to be in line to start Saturday. The true freshman quarterback tallied 143 passing yards (7-of-12) two touchdowns and one interception in the Bruins' season opener. UCLA is sure to utilize multiple quarterbacks in the contest regardless of who starts.
Sep 3, 2023
Extends QB battle with solid game
Moore completed 7 of 12 passes for 143 yards, two touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 27-13 win versus Coastal Carolina.
ANALYSIS
Although Ethan Garbers won the starting job for the Bruins, coach Chip Kelly made it clear that Moore and Collin Schlee would also play in the opener. Schlee never made an appearance, but Moore made an impact right away. Despite throwing one careless pick, the freshman looked like the better quarterback in the win, as the offense seemed to gain a step whenever he was on the field. Although the competition is far from over, Moore took a huge step forward in his quest to gain the full-time gig.

Not starting yet playing Saturday
Moore was not named UCLA's starting quarterback for Week 1 but will play when the team hosts Coastal Carolina on Saturday, James H. Williams of the Orange County Register reports.
ANALYSIS
UCLA's head coach Chip Kelly named Ethan Garbers his starting quarterback for Week 1. However, it appears he is not the overwhelming favorite over Moore and Collin Schlee, as Kelly has stated that both will get opportunities to play against Coastal Carolina on Saturday.
