ANALYSIS
Cal's beatdown of UCLA won't do Chip Kelly's resume any favors, and Mendoza and company were happy to oblige. Mendoza was far from mistake-free, but the rushing attack and defense made things easy for the talented freshman. the Bears will now await word for a potential bowl bid.

Sharp in close win

ANALYSIS
Cal's defense was the star of the evening, recording two touchdowns from fumbles along with six sacks. Has ineffective game in loss
Mendoza completed 18 of 34 pass attempts for 177 yards and one interception during Saturday's 63-19 defeat to Oregon.
ANALYSIS
Mendoza struggled to get much going versus a strong Oregon team in this one. He put together an okay performance but only completed 53% of his passes and turned the ball over for the fourth straight game. That said, it was always going to be a tough ask to do much on the road versus a top-10 team. The freshman quarterback is continuing to develop and will look to improve on this performance next week against Washington State.

Comes up one play short in loss
Mendoza completed 25 of 39 passes for 292 yards, two touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 50-49 defeat against USC. He also had eight rushes for 48 yards with two touchdowns.
ANALYSIS
Mendoza was responsible for four touchdowns in the loss and was one play away from upsetting the Trojans, but the risky decision to go for two put the final mail in the coffin. The Bears leaned on their run game, but Mendoza was efficient in directing the offense and threw for almost 300 yards. He is likely to hold on to the job when Sam Jackson (undisclosed) returns and the freshman has an excellent chance to be the team's quarterback of the future.

ANALYSIS
The Bears did little through the air in the loss, relying on Jaydn Ott to supply most of the offense. Mendoza had a great first game as a starter, but the freshman is expected to struggle a bit as he gets more accustomed to the nuances of the offense. He'll have a bye week with the playbook before taking on USC at home in two weeks.

The highly-touted freshman recruit got his first collegiate start versus the Beavers on Saturday and played well despite registering a loss.
