Considered 50-50 for Week 12
Rodgers (wrist) will undergo further medical evaluation Monday and has been described by NFL sources as "50-50" to face the Bears in Week 12, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers suffered an injury to his left, non-throwing wrist and was forced out early during Pittsburgh's win over the Bengals in Week 11, which Adam Schefter of ESPN reports may be "a slight break." Whether or not the veteran quarterback is at risk of further exacerbating the injury, and his capacity to properly grip a football, will be the major deciding factors in whether or not he misses time. Mason Rudolph replaced Rodgers to start the third quarter, completing 12 of 16 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown while rushing once for minus-1 yard. If Rodgers isn't able to suit up on the road against Chicago, Rudolph will presumably draw the start while rookie sixth-round pick Will Howard, who recently came off IR, handles the No. 2 role.

Likely to miss Week 12
Rodgers may be dealing with "a slight break" in his left wrist, and backup Mason Rudolph is likely to start in Week 12 against the Bears, though the full extent of Rodgers' injury won't be determined until he undergoes further testing Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers got hurt late in the first half of Sunday's 34-12 win over the Bengals and didn't return for the second half. The injury is to Rodgers' left, non-throwing wrist. Monday's evaluation should help establish a recovery timetable for Rodgers while providing clarification regarding the nature of his wrist injury. Per Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Rodgers is optimistic that he won't face an extended absence.

Will have left wrist checked out
Coach Mike Tomlin noted that Rodgers, who suffered a left wrist injury during Sunday's 34-12 win over the Bengals, will be evaluated further Monday morning, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Before exiting the contest, Rodgers completed nine of his 15 pass attempts for 116 yards and a touchdown and carried once for eight yards. Mason Rudolph, who replaced him, wound up completing 12 of his 16 pass attempts for 127 yards and a TD, and rushed once for minus-one yard. The 6-4 Steelers are slated to face the 7-3 Bears next weekend, but at this stage it's uncertain if Rodgers will be available for the contest.

Exits Sunday's game
Rodgers (left hand) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Bengals, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With Rodgers sidelined, Mason Rudolph is in at QB for the Steelers. Prior to his exit from the contest, Rodgers completed nine of his 15 pass attempts for 116 yards and a TD and carried once for eight yards.
Nov 9, 2025
Shut down by Chargers
Rodgers completed 16 of 31 passes for 161 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 25-10 loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
The Steelers had minimal success moving the ball at any point when the outcome was in doubt, and Rodgers made several uncharacteristic mistakes. He took a safety midway through the first quarter and then overthrew his intended targets several times, including an interception late in the second quarter that led to a touchdown for the Chargers. Rodgers managed to lead a garbage-time drive late in the fourth quarter to rack up 64 yards and a touchdown to pad his stat line, but he has now averaged 6.1 yards per attempt or fewer in three straight games.
Nov 2, 2025
Manages Steelers to win
Rodgers completed 25 of 35 passes for 203 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Colts. He added two rushes for zero yards.
ANALYSIS
The Steelers forced five turnovers, which created several short fields for Rodgers and the offense to work with. They struggled to find much rhythm early, as Rodgers managed to throw for only 108 yards despite attempting 22 passes in the first half. He didn't make mistakes in the win and managed to connect with Pat Freiermuth for a 12-yard touchdown, but Rodgers failed to complete a pass of at least 20 yards for the first time this season while averaging a season-worst 5.8 yards per attempt. This also marked the first time he's failed to throw for multiple touchdowns since Week 4.
Oct 27, 2025
Falls short against former club
Rodgers completed 24 of 36 pass attempts for 219 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 35-25 loss to Green Bay.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers failed to lift Pittsburgh to its fifth win after coming up short against his former club on the national stage. The 41-year-old still produced a solid fantasy score after throwing multiple touchdowns for the fifth time in seven starts with the Steelers. With 16 touchdown passes on the year, Rodgers is on pace to finish with 30-plus touchdowns for the first time since 2022, his final season as a member of the Packers. The future Hall of Famer will have to overcome a tough matchup against the Colts next Sunday in order to get Pittsburgh back in the win column following consecutive losses.
Oct 17, 2025
Four TDs in losing effort
Rodgers completed 23 of 34 passes for 249 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions and rushed once for six yards in the Steelers' 33-31 loss to the Bengals on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was outshined by fellow graybeard signal-caller Joe Flacco, but the former still tied a season high in touchdown passes. Rodgers connected with Pat Freiermuth for half his scoring tosses -- from 19 and 68 yards out -- and his other two TD strikes went to Freiermuth's position mates Jonnu Smith (10 yards) and Darnell Washington (two yards). Rodgers made several impressive throws throughout the night, including the second touchdown to Freiermuth and on his game-ending Hail Mary attempt, corroborating he still has plenty of arm and continues to demonstrate his mostly difficult 2024 season with the Jets may have just been a hiccup. Rodgers and his teammates will next turn their attention to a Week 8 home showdown against his old Packers squad on Sunday night, Oct. 26.
Oct 12, 2025
Efficient day agianst Browns
Rodgers completed 21 of 30 passes for 235 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 23-9 win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers had one of his better showings of the season, completing five passes of at least 20 yards. Four of those went to DK Metcalf, including a 25-yard touchdown down the right sideline to begin the fourth quarter. Rodgers has had a mixed start to his tenure with the Steelers, though he's averaged over 7.5 yards per attempt in three of five games this season, with Sunday also marking his third multi-touchdown performance of the campaign.
Sep 28, 2025
Long touchdown keys day
Rodgers completed 18 of 22 passes for 200 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 24-21 win over the Vikings. He added three rushes for eight yards.
ANALYSIS
The Steelers played from ahead for most of the game, so Rodgers attempted only eight passes in the second half. He managed to move the offense efficiently when asked, however, with the key to his day being an explosive 80-yard touchdown to DK Metcalf early in the second quarter. This was a return to form for Rodgers, as he had only a 3:3 TD:INT while combining to throw for 332 yards across his last two games. Pittsburgh is likely to continue to rely on its run game and short passes to move the offense, which will lead to inconsistent fantasy results for Rodgers.
Sep 21, 2025
Tosses two TDs in win
Rodgers completed 16 of 23 passes for 139 and two touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 21-14 win over the Patriots. He added one rushing yard on four carries.
ANALYSIS
The veteran QB hit DK Metcalf for a 12-yard score in the second quarter and Calvin Austin with a game-winning 17-yarder with just over two minutes left in the fourth. Rodgers' first touchdown of the afternoon also moved him past Brett Favre into fourth place on the NFL's all-time list, and he finished the game with 510 -- 29 behind Peyton Manning for third place. Rodgers has a 7:3 TD:INT through his first three games as a Steeler, but he faces a tough test in Week 4 at home against the Vikings.
Sep 14, 2025
Picked twice by Seattle
Rodgers completed 18 of 33 passes for 203 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers didn't get much help from his pass catchers, but he still had a letdown performance in Week 2. His lone touchdown came on a lofted jump ball to DK Metcalf late in the first half from two yards away, and he also recorded three completions of at least 20 yards -- though Rodgers still managed only 6.2 yards per attempt. While that was a significant departure from Week 1, Rodgers was let down by his pass catchers on a few occasions, most notably on a pass in the end zone that was deflected by Calvin Austin on a pass intended for Pat Freiermuth that was ultimately intercepted. With a subpar offensive line and below-average playmakers around him, it's fair to expect more mediocre fantasy performances from Rodgers moving forward.
Sep 10, 2025
Not on injury report
Rodgers (back) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Sunday's game against Seattle.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers told reporters Wednesday that back tightness impacted his mobility during a 34-32 win over the Jets this past Sunday. He's apparently moved past it, healthy for Week 2 and hoping to build on a four-TD showing in his Steelers debut.
Sep 10, 2025
Dealing with back tightness
Rodgers said Wednesday that he was bothered by back tightness during Sunday's 34-32 win over the Jets, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.
ANALYSIS
He said his back prevented him from moving around well and may have contributed to some of the sacks he took (four). Rodgers also threw four touchdown passes, and while he may show up on the Week 2 injury report, he'll likely be ready to face the Seahawks come Sunday.
Sep 7, 2025
Four touchdowns in revenge game
Rodgers completed 22 of 30 passes for 244 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 34-32 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
The Steelers offense wasn't as efficient as their point total suggests -- the unit averaged only 5.4 yards per play-- but Rodgers averaged 8.1 yards per attempt and made up for an ineffective ground game. He often got the ball out of his hands quickly, with DK Metcalf and Calvin Austin excelling after the catch. Rodgers also did plenty on his own to take down his former team, delivering touchdowns from 22, 18, five and three yards away to four different receivers. It was an excellent debut with Pittsburgh for Rodgers, and he'll now lead the team into a Week 2 matchup against Seattle.

Sitting out third preseason game
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Rodgers is among key starters who will be held out of Thursday's preseason finale against the Panthers, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers will sit out a third consecutive preseason game, as will No. 1 receiver DK Metcalf and star pass rushers T.J. Watt and Cameron Heyward. The veteran quarterback will have to wait Sunday, Sept. 7 to take on his former team, the Jets, on the road and make his debut in offensive coordinator Arthur Smith's scheme. In his stead, Mason Rudolph will start a third straight preseason game under center.
Aug 14, 2025
Won't play Saturday
Rodgers is among the Steelers' key players not in line to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Buccaneers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
With regard to the team's plans for Saturday's contest, coach Mike Tomlin indicated that the same players (with the possible exception of LB Nick Herbig) who didn't play last weekend against the Jaguars, won't face Tampa Bay, per Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site. Apart from Rodgers, that's a group that includes RB Jaylen Warren, WRs DK Metcalf and Calvin Austin (abdomen), as well as TEs Pat Freiermuth and Jonnu Smith (knee). Beyond that, Rodgers is no lock to see any snaps in Pittsburgh's Aug. 21 preseason finale against the Panthers. Meanwhile, Mason Rudolph is slated to start at QB (on Saturday) for the second straight contest, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette notes.
Aug 7, 2025
Won't play Saturday
Coach Mike Tomlin noted Thursday that Rodgers is among the key skill players who won't play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Jaguars, Missi Matthews of the Steelers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per the report, WR DK Metcalf, RB Jaylen Warren as well as TEs Pat Freiermuth and Jonnu Smith will also sit out Saturday's contest along with Rodgers. It remains to be seen if the veteran QB plays in either of the Steelers' two following exhibition games, but ESPN.com suggests that Rodgers is open to doing so if Tomlin wants him to.

Anticipates retiring after 2025
Rodgers said Tuesday on The Pat McAfee Show he's "pretty sure" the 2025 season will be his last in the NFL, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
"I'm pretty sure this is my last season and that's why we did the one-year deal," Rodgers said, referring to the one-year, $13.65 million contract he inked early June. The relatively team-friendly deal for Pittsburgh includes $10 million in guaranteed money and carries a maximum value of $19.5 million, with no cap hit lingering beyond the 2025 campaign. Rodgers, who turns 42 in December, said there's "no better way" to finish his career than with the Steelers, a team that earned a 10-7 record and playoff berth with a combination of Justin Fields and Russell Wilson under center in 2024, before being eliminated in the Wild Card round by Baltimore. With the hope of improved quarterback play from Rodgers, who Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports has already begun establishing a rapport with new top wideout DK Metcalf at mandatory minicamp, Pittsburgh indeed appears well-positioned to make some noise in the AFC in what is shaping up to be the veteran signal-caller's swan song.

Getting $13.65 million
Rodgers signed his one-year, $13.65 million contract with the Steelers on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The deal between Pittsburgh and the veteran quarterback came together late in the week and is now official. Per Schefter, Rodgers' contract includes $10 million in guaranteed money and has a maximum value of $19.5 million. It's a significant step down from what he could have made with the Jets, as Rodgers was slated to earn $37.5 million had he remained in New York.
Jun 6, 2025
Deal made official
Rodgers signed a one-year deal with the Steelers on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
News broke earlier in the day that Rodgers had informed the Steelers of his intention to sign with the team and report for mandatory minicamp next week. However, the deal is now official, and he'll ascend to the top of a previously uninspiring quarterback depth chart in Pittsburgh. Though Rodgers is well past his prime both in on-field and fantasy contributions, his arrival should be good news for the likes of DK Metcalf and Pat Freiermuth.
Jun 5, 2025
Informs Steelers he will sign
Rodgers informed Pittsburgh on Thursday that he plans to sign a contract with the team and attend mandatory minicamp, which kicks off June 10, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' decision has been the largest domino waiting to fall of the Steelers' offseason, and the 41-year-old signal-caller now provides the team some much-desired clarity. With Rodgers planning to sign before the start of minicamp, the veteran will get the benefit of a mostly complete offseason to build chemistry with new top wideout DK Metcalf, and to adapt to offensive coordinator Arthur Smith's scheme. While suiting up for all 17 regular-season games with the Jets in 2024, Rodgers completed 368 of 584 pass attempts (63 percent) for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Despite looking less mobile than usual while coming off the Achilles tear that derailed his 2023 campaign, plus dealing with a lingering hamstring injury, Rodgers displayed competence under center and provides the Steelers with a substantial upgrade over Mason Rudolph. The days of Rodgers being a high-end fantasy option at quarterback seem well in the distance, but his arrival bodes well for the value of Metcalf and the rest of P

In contact with Steelers
The Steelers remain in contract with Rodgers and hope he'll eventually sign, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Trading WR George Pickens to the Cowboys makes Pittsburgh a less attractive destination for a QB in general, but it won't necessarily impact Rodgers' decision between the Steelers and retirement, especially if he already expected Pickens to be dealt. Reports in mid-April suggested the 41-year-old was focused on his personal life and eventually would either retire or sign with Pittsburgh. There's been no report on a specific timeline for that decision, but the Steelers presumably would appreciate knowing before OTAs begin May 27.
Apr 17, 2025
Willing to play on $10M contract
Rodgers said Thursday on the Pat McAfee Show that his decision whether or not to play this season "it ain't about the money" and he would "play for $10 million," Noah Strackbein of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
"I never once said I needed a multi-year deal," Rodgers said, doubling down on the notion that if he does opt to suit up in 2025, the decision will be made solely based upon team circumstance and fit. The 41-year-old veteran also made clear that his "focus" currently is "and will continue to be" his personal life, noting that "retirement still could be a possibility." Rodgers has been oft linked to the Steelers since being released by the Jets, especially in the wake of the Giants signing both Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, but Pittsburgh is now only one week away from heading into the 2025 NFL Draft without a clear commitment from the veteran quarterback, which could motivate the team to make other moves at the position.
Apr 1, 2025
Progress with Pittsburgh
Steelers owner Art Rooney said Tuesday that things are "pointing in that direction" regarding Rodgers potentially signing with Pittsburgh, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Rooney said the Steelers will wait "a little longer" but not "forever" for Rodgers to make a decision, per Dulac. The veteran quarterback met up with new Pittsburgh wideout DK Metcalf for a throwing session over the weekend, which Rooney called a "good sign," Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. With the Giants, who were often linked to Rodgers following his release by the Jets, having signed both Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, the Steelers' ready-to-compete roster appears the best remaining landing spot for the 41-year-old signal-caller, if he opts to continue his NFL career.
Mar 31, 2025
Meets up with DK Metcalf
Rodgers and Steelers wideout DK Metcalf had a throwing session over the weekend, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers met with the Steelers on March 21, with subsequent reports suggesting he'll either join them or retire. Their roster looks strong apart from the quarterback room, where Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson are the players currently under contract. The throwing session with Metcalf, a recent trade acquisition, may be taken as a hint that Rodgers is leaning toward signing with Pittsburgh.
Mar 21, 2025
Meeting with Pittsburgh
Rodgers is meeting with the Steelers on Friday, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers is present at Pittsburgh's team facilities Friday, following a recent report that the veteran quarterback is no longer considered a strong contender to join the Vikings, who remain committed to second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy. The Steelers are currently without a clear starting option under center, with the team's largest splash at the position in free agency having been inking career journeyman Mason Rudolph to a two-year deal. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that no agreement between Rodgers and Pittsburgh is currently imminent, but along with the Giants, the Steelers seems like one of the best remaining potential fits for the 41-year-old signal-caller.
Mar 19, 2025
Not an option for Vikings?
The Vikings are not pursuing Rodgers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Pelissero adds that the team has rejected trade calls on J.J. McCarthy and will move forward with the 22-year-old as their starting quarterback. The Vikings plan to add a veteran QB, but they're aiming lower than Rodgers, likely targeting players that will be okay with a backup role. Seemingly left with the Steelers and Giants as his options, Rodgers may make a decision soon on his next NFL home.
Mar 13, 2025
Released by Jets
The Jets released Rodgers on Wednesday, NFL.com's Nick Shook reports.
ANALYSIS
The long-expected move became official shortly after the start of the league year. Rodgers is now said to be deciding between signing with the Giants, Steelers or Vikings, although it isn't clear Minnesota has the same level of interest as the other two teams. The Jets, meanwhile are designating Rodgers as a post-June 1 cut, which means they'll carry a $21 million cap hit until that date, at which point the number drops to $14 million. They'll then take a $35 million dead-cap charge in 2026. The Jets are signing QB Justin Fields to replace Rodgers, and they also have Tyrod Taylor under contract through 2025.
Mar 12, 2025
Closing in on decision
The Giants expect Rodgers to make a decision Wednesday on his next team, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Reports suggest Rodgers is deciding between the Giants and Steelers, with some chance of the Vikings getting involved. He won't necessarily sign a contract Wednesday, but the Giants apparently should know soon if he's joining them or not.
Mar 10, 2025
Emerging as option for Pittsburgh
Rodgers has emerged as an option for the Steelers, although they're still talking with fellow quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
ANALYSIS
Schefter also mentions that the Jets are interested in signing Fields as a replacement for Rodgers, who is set to become a free agent and won't stay in New York unless it's to play for the Giants. The Steelers recently agreed to trade for WR DK Metcalf, giving them a dangerous pair of downfield targets with WR George Pickens still on the roster. It'd be a good situation for Rodgers, backed by a solid defense and throwing to talented wideouts, but the fit will also depend on Pittsburgh's level of interest and willingness to give the 41-year-old a desirable contract.
Feb 28, 2025
New top option for Giants?
The Giants are shifting their interest in a potential veteran quarterback to Rodgers, following the development of Matthew Stafford and the Rams agreeing to terms on a restructured contract Friday, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Russini reports that New York and Rodgers have discussed a union all week at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. It was recently reported that Rodgers' top team of interest was the Rams, per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, but with that option now off the table the 41-year-old signal-caller may have to further open his range of potential options. Rodgers would have the opportunity to pair with a young standout wide receiver in Malik Nabers with the Giants, who as a rookie working with a combination of Daniel Jones, Drew Lock. Tommy DeVito and Tim Boyle, managed to put together a 109-1,204-7 receiving line across 15 games in 2024. The team additionally has the available cap space to potentially bring in Davante Adams to join Rodgers, a development both players have expressed interest in. Neither Rodgers or Adams has yet been let go by the Jets, but their respective releases seem like a foregone conclusion.
Feb 25, 2025
Prefers to play for Rams?
Rodgers prefers to play for the Rams in 2025 and would attempt to bring Davante Adams with him to Los Angeles, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers hasn't yet been let go by the Jets, but he's reportedly already working to find a new team behind the scenes, as his release from the Jets is a foregone conclusion. As for the Rams, there's been a whole lot of trade chatter around Matthew Stafford, with the team and quarterback at odds over his contract. Rodgers would come much cheaper, and trading Stafford could allow the Rams to add a premium draft pick to use elsewhere on the roster. However, there would likely be a downgrade in play at this stage of their respective careers going from Stafford to Rodgers. But the cost savings and shorter-term commitment might be appealing to Los Angeles. As for Adams, he's also expected to be let go by New York in the coming weeks. With Cooper Kupp headed out the door in L.A., Adams would make sense as a running mate for Puka Nacua. Stafford is the big veteran quarterback domino the rest of the league is waiting on to fall, whether that's a trade or a new deal to stay with the Rams.
Feb 21, 2025
Could be swayed by good situation
Rodgers recently said he's more likely to continue his football career if he can find a good team that really wants him, NFL.com's Kevin Patra reports.
ANALYSIS
That's more difficult than it sounds, especially after Rodgers' unsuccessful tenure in New York. The Jets have already informed him they're "moving in a different direction", and with minimal chance of trade interest it's only a matter of time until he's released. The teams most likely to consider signing the 41-year-old QB aren't the ones generally considered to be "good", and Rodgers may end up looking at a short list of suitors even if he's flexible on his stated criteria. A couple of the teams that theoretically might have interest would probably prefer to see what happens in free agency and the NFL Draft before settling for Rodgers as their Week 1 starter in 2025.
Feb 13, 2025
New York officially moving on
The Jets officially informed Rodgers on Thursday that the team will be "moving in a different direction at quarterback."
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' tenure in New York comes to a conclusion after two years as a starter, with his first year having been limited to a mere handful of regular-season snaps before the storied veteran suffered an Achilles tear. The Jets' decision to move on was anticipated, but making the announcement official early in the offseason could make it easier for the 41-year-old quarterback to find an alternative opportunity. Rodgers has one season remaining on the three-year contract he signed with the Jets in July of 2023, which positions New York for a cap hit of $49 million in dead money if he were to be released. If he were cut with a post-June 1 designation, the team could opt to more flexibly split up his $49 million in dead money over the next two seasons. Rodgers racked up a solid 3,897 passing yards, with a 28:11 TD:INT, across 17 regular-season appearances in 2024.
Feb 9, 2025
Not expected to return to New York
The Jets aren't expected to retain Rodgers as their starting quarterback for next season, and a resolution is likely to be reached "sooner rather than later," Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
It's been a tumultuous two seasons in New York for Rodgers -- he tore his Achilles three offensive snaps into the 2023 regular season then performed below expectations in 2024. Though the future Hall of Famer did manage to put up a respectable 3,897 passing yards with a 63 percent completion rate and 28:11 TD:INT over 17 contests during the current campaign, his performance level was inconsistent from game to game, and the Jets compiled a 5-12 record. Rodgers has one year remaining on the three-year deal he signed in July of 2023 (the contract also has four void years, which begin in 2026), and New York will take on $49 million of dead-cap money if the team elects to part ways with him, but that doesn't appear to be enough of a deterrent to prevent the Jets from moving on. Schultz does note that "further discussions" are likely to take place between Rodgers and the organization, and the QB has yet to make a definitive statement about whether he plans to continue his career next year, so there are clearly a lo

Four TDs in possible swan song
Rodgers completed 23 of 36 passes for 274 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 32-20 win over the Dolphins. He finishes the season with 3,897 passing yards and a 28:11 TD:INT.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' first touchdown pass was the 500th of his NFL career. That one was a five-yard pass to Tyler Conklin in the second quarter, and Rodgers added a 13-yard touchdown pass to Allen Lazard in the final minute of the first half. Rodgers tacked on fourth-quarter touchdowns of four yards to Davante Adams and six yards to Breece Hall, as the fifth quarterback in NFL history to throw 500 regular-season touchdown passes raised his career total to 503. It's possible this was the final game of Rodgers' illustrious career, and even more likely his final game with the Jets. Per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, a reflective Rodgers didn't provide definitive word on his future after this rare sweet spot capped a mostly bitter season.
Dec 30, 2024
Will start in Week 18
Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said Monday that Rodgers will start next Sunday's Week 18 game against Miami, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
New York has little to play for aside from draft-pick order given its current 4-12 record, but it appears the team's starters will suit up for the season finale. They'll be going against a motivated Dolphins team that must win in order to keep its long-shot playoff hopes alive. Rodgers remains one touchdown pass away from 500 in his illustrious career, and Sunday could mark his final appearance as a Jet if the team decides to go in a different direction this offseason.
Dec 29, 2024
Fails to throw 500th TD
Rodgers completed 12 of 18 passes for 112 yards and two interceptions in Sunday's 40-14 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
The Jets' first two drives both got inside Buffalo's 25-yard line, but the first ended in a turnover on downs and the second ended in a Rodgers interception. Rodgers was then sacked for a safety on the following drive as the Jets took a 12-0 deficit into the locker room. Things got even worse in the second half, as Rodgers was picked off again in the third quarter and the Jets turned to Tyrod Taylor after taking a 33-0 deficit into the fourth quarter. Rodgers remains stuck on 499 career regular-season touchdown passes, and he'll have one last chance to throw No. 500 this season against the Dolphins in Week 18.
Dec 26, 2024
Puts in full practice
Rodgers (knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' availability for a Week 17 matchup with the Bills initially appeared to be in some question after he disclosed Tuesday that he suffered an MCL injury in this past Sunday's loss to the Rams. However, after he was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's practice estimate, Rodgers got back on the field for an actual practice session Thursday to put to rest any concerns about his status heading into Sunday. Though Rodgers seems set to playing all 17 games in 2024 after tearing his Achilles tendon just a few snaps into the 2023 season, he'll be working behind a depleted offensive line the rest of the way. He may also be without the services of his most-trusted target in wideout Davante Adams (hip), who has missed the first two Week 17 practices to put his status for Sunday's game in Buffalo in some jeopardy.
Dec 25, 2024
Estimated as full practice participant
Rodgers (knee) was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's practice estimate, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Brian Costello of the New York Post, Rodgers noted Tuesday that he was dealing with an MCL issue, but planned to play Sunday against the Bills nonetheless. The QB's 'full' listing on Wednesday's practice estimate supports that notion and barring any setbacks Rodgers should head into the weekend without an injury designation.
Dec 24, 2024
Proclaims himself good to go for Sunday
Rodgers (knee) said Tuesday that he's dealing with an MCL injury and added that he intends to play in Sunday's Week 17 game against Buffalo, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers described the knee injury as a "little" MCL issue and added that he feels "pretty good." The veteran quarterback also stated that his goal is to play in all 17 games this season, including in Sunday's matchup versus the Bills. Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich suggested earlier Tuesday that Rodgers' status to face Buffalo was uncertain, but it sounds as though the four-time MVP will be able to suit up.

Iffy for Week 17 with knee injury
Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said Tuesday that Rodgers sustained a knee injury in Sunday's 19-9 loss to the Rams, and the veteran quarterback's status for the Jets' Week 17 game in Buffalo is uncertain, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Ulbrich added that he's betting on Rodgers playing this Sunday, but the Jets likely won't have a clearer idea about the 41-year-old's availability until assessing his condition in practices Wednesday through Friday. With the 4-11 Jets eliminated from playoff contention and Rodgers' standing in the organization uncertain heading into next season, it wouldn't be surprising if he ultimately ended up missing the team's final two contests. Tyrod Taylor has served as the backup quarterback all season and would be in line to start Sunday if Rodgers is unable to move past the knee issue.

Fizzles out after decent start
Rodgers completed 28 of 42 passes for 256 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 19-9 loss to the Rams. He also rushed once for six yards and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers connected with Davante Adams for an 11-yard touchdown in the first quarter, but the Jets added only three points the rest of the way, including a missed PAT after Adams' third touchdown catch in the past two games. The veteran quarterback still has multiple touchdown passes in five of his last eight starts despite failing to do so against the Rams, but his uptick in production hasn't led to much team success, as the Jets fell to 4-11 with Sunday's loss. New York's unlikely to get back in the win column in Week 17 against the Bills.
Dec 15, 2024
Three TDs in rare Jets win
Rodgers completed 16 of 30 passes for 289 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 32-25 win over the Jaguars. He also rushed five times for 45 yards and threw a two-point conversion.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers posted his third-highest passing yardage total of the campaign while setting a new season high in rushing yards in this throwback performance. He answered an opening-drive Jaguars touchdown with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson, but the veteran quarterback finished the first half with just three completions and 55 passing yards. Rodgers bounced back in the third quarter with a go-ahead one-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams, whom Rodgers connected with for a 43-yard gain earlier on the drive. After the Jets fell behind 22-17 in the fourth quarter, Rodgers found Adams for a 71-yard touchdown and a two-point conversion to take a three-point lead with 3:24 remaining, then linked up with Adams for a 41-yard gain to set up Breece Hall's game-winning touchdown run. Adams accounted for 198 of Rodgers' 289 passing yards, and their chemistry will be tough for the Rams to stop in Week 16.
Dec 8, 2024
Season-high 339 yards in OT loss
Rodgers completed 27 of 39 passes for 339 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 32-26 overtime loss to the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers not only surpassed 200 passing yards for the first time since Week 9, but he exceeded 300 for the first time as a member of the Jets. He found Garrett Wilson for a 35-yard gain to convert on fourth down in the second quarter, setting up Isaiah Davis' 17-yard touchdown run on the next play. Rodgers connected with Wilson again for a 42-yard pickup in the third quarter to set up Rodgers' only touchdown pass of the afternoon -- a three-yarder to Davante Adams. All told, Wilson and Adams combined for 223 of Rodgers' 339 passing yards, but the Jets never got a chance to possess the ball in overtime as Miami drove down the field to drop New York's record to 3-10. Barring an announcement to the contrary from the team, Rodgers will remain the starter in Week 15, when the Jets face the 3-10 Jaguars in a game with significant implications for the 2025 NFL Draft order.
Dec 8, 2024
Hoping to finish season
Not only are the Jets starting Rodgers this week against Miami, but they hope that he can play the rest of the season, Jay Glazer reported on Fox NFL Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Glazer emphasized how much Rodgers was playing through injuries earlier in the season, including a Week 2 Grade 2 hamstring tear. This shoots down earlier speculation that the Jets might turn to Tyrod Taylor, at least for now -- each week's results can potentially change an organization's mindset.
Dec 2, 2024
Will retain starting job
Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said Monday that Rodgers will retain the Jets' starting quarterback job for the team's Week 14 game at Miami, Eric Allen of the team's official site reports. "We have great belief in Aaron and we think he gives us the best opportunity to win," Ulbrich said.
ANALYSIS
Ulbrich reaffirmed Rodgers' standing atop the depth chart after the veteran signal-caller endured another disappointing outing in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks, dropping the Jets to 3-9 on the season and putting the team on the brink of elimination from playoff contention. Coming out of a Week 12 bye, the Jets offense initially looked sharp with two first-quarter touchdowns, but Rodgers struggled to lead productive drives thereafter and threw a back-breaking pick-six midway through the second quarter that kicked off a stretch of 19 unanswered Seattle points to close out the game. Through his 12 starts this season, Rodgers has completed 62.5 percent of his passes for a career-low 6.3 yards per attempt, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions. While Rodgers will remain the Jets' starter for at least one more week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Sunday that the 41-year-old signal-caller is viewed as a longshot to return to the team in 2025. As such, it wouldn't be surprising if Rodgers was benched at s

Throws pick-six in loss to Seattle
Rodgers completed 21 of 39 passes for 185 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks. He added two rushing attempts for six yards.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers has been playing through injuries to his legs but looked much more spry coming out of the Week 12 bye, extending plays with his legs and even throwing a block on a reverse in the first quarter. He also threw a pair of short first-quarter touchdown passes (eight yards to Davante Adams and four yards to Isaiah Davis). Rodgers should have had his third touchdown of the first half in the second quarter, but he overthrew a wide open Garrett Wilson in the end zone, then tossed a pick-six on the very next play. That interception turned the tide, kicking off a 19-0 Seattle run to end the game. The nearly 41-year-old quarterback is considered a long shot to return to the Jets next season, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, but Rodgers should remain the starter for the remainder of the 2024 campaign, which will continue with a Week 14 road game in Miami.

Won't be shut down
Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said Monday that Rodgers will "absolutely" start Sunday's game against the Seahawks, while noting that the Jets have had no internal discussions of shutting the veteran quarterback down for the season, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though the 3-8 Jets are close to being mathematically eliminated from playoff contention coming out of a Week 12 bye, Rodgers looks poised to continue directing the offense, even while he's probably operating at less than full health after having contended with knee, hamstring and ankle injuries in September and October. Rodgers' condition looked as though it might have improved after he was a full participant in practices ahead of both of the Jets' past two games, but it wasn't evident in his performance, as he threw for under 200 yards in losses to the Cardinals and Colts heading into the bye week. Rodgers, who will turn 41 years old next week, recently said he plans to keep playing in 2025, but a return to the Jets could be unlikely in light of how the season has transpired. Rodgers remains under contract with the Jets through 2025, but since none of his salary is guaranteed, the organization would be able to easily move on from him this offseason.
Nov 17, 2024
Fewer than 200 yards again
Rodgers completed 22 of 29 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns while rushing once for seven yards in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Colts.
ANALYSIS
The Jets didn't pick up a first down until after the two-minute warning in the first half, but they finally showed some life on their last drive before halftime, which Rodgers capped with a 29-yard touchdown pass to Breece Hall. Rodgers added an 11-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Yeboah to put the Jets up 24-16 in the fourth quarter, but the Colts responded with a 12-3 run. Rodgers had a chance to save the day after taking over with 46 seconds remaining and no timeouts, but he proceeded to fumble the ball and then take a sack within a three-play span as time ran out on the Jets and they fell to 3-8 heading into their Week 12 bye.
Nov 10, 2024
Looks washed in blowout loss
Rodgers completed 22 of 35 pass attempts for 151 yards and no touchdowns while losing a fumble on one of his three sacks taken in Sunday's 31-6 loss to Arizona.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers looked like a shell of his former MVP self in a contest that the Jets absolutely needed to win. The 40-year-old had strung together a pair of strong outings in recent weeks, but his arm simply looked gassed once the team fell behind and needed to put up points quickly. Rodgers and the Jets need to re-evaluate their gameplan now that the team has fallen to 3-7. For now, expect the veteran signal-caller to be under center against the Colts next Sunday.
Nov 1, 2024
Leads much-needed comeback win
Rodgers completed 22 of 32 passes for 211 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed once for minus-1 yard in the Jets' 21-13 win over the Texans on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
The first half was once again a source of major concern for Rodgers and the Jets' offense, which were shut out altogether. However, the future Hall of Famer came alive in the second half despite losing Davante Adams for a time due to a concussion check, connecting with Garrett Wilson (21, 26 yards) and Adams (37 yards) for his trio of scores. The touchdown tally was a season high for Rodgers, who also avoided interceptions for the second straight game and recorded completions to seven different targets overall. With New York's losing streak now snapped, Rodgers will look to string together consecutive wins for the second time as a member of the Jets at the expense of the Cardinals in a Week 10 road matchup on Sunday, Nov. 10.

No injury designation for TNF
Rodgers (knee/hamstring) doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game against the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers has dealt with various lower-body injuries this season but hasn't come close to missing a game. He'll face a tough Houston defense Thursday night, albeit with S Jimmie Ward (groin) and LB Azeez Al-Shaair (knee) both missing a third/fourth straight game. The Jets offense is also missing two starters -- WR Allen Lazard (chest) and RG Alijah Vera-Tucker (ankle).
Oct 29, 2024
Full go Tuesday
Rodgers (knee/hamstring) was a full participant on Tuesday's practice estimate, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers has been nursing some nagging knee and hamstring injuries, which led to a limited estimation at Monday's practice. Coach Jeff Ulbrich previously indicated that the star quarterback did not suffer any setbacks in Sunday's Week 8 loss to the Patriots. Tuesday's workload further indicates he should be good to go for Thursday's tilt with the Texans assuming he avoids any setbacks.
Oct 28, 2024
Estimated as limited Monday
Rodgers (knee/hamstring) was listed as limited on Monday's estimated practice report, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Jeff Ulbrich said Monday that Rodgers didn't suffer any setbacks in Sunday's Week 8 loss to the Patriots, so it sounds like he'll be fine for Thursday night's start against the Texans. He's been tending to a multitude of injuries for weeks now.
Oct 27, 2024
Two TDs not enough in Week 8
Rodgers completed 17 of 28 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 25-22 loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers threw a two-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Conklin in the first quarter and a one-yard touchdown pass to Xavier Gipson in the second, but the Jets came up a day late and a dollar short in another last-dash comeback bid. New York's sixth loss ended with a gimpy Rodgers and the offensive line hustling in vain to get a spike off as the final seconds ticked off after a 16-yard completion to Davante Adams on the game's final play. Conklin and Gipson have combined to catch all three of Rodgers' touchdown passes in two games since Adams' arrival in New York. Rodgers and the Jets won't have long to dwell on this latest disappointment, as they'll be right back in action Thursday against the Texans.
Oct 25, 2024
Cleared to face Patriots
Rodgers (hamstring/knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers upgraded to full participation in practice Friday after a pair of limited sessions. Per John Pullano of the Jets' official site, interim coach Jeff Ulbrich said Wednesday that Rodgers' injuries "flared up" during the Week 7 loss to the Steelers, but they aren't expected to affect the veteran quarterback's availability on gamedays. Rodgers will have a high Week 8 ceiling against the 1-6 Patriots in what will be Davante Adams' second game as a Jet.
Oct 24, 2024
Limited in Thursday's session
Rodgers (hamstring/knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
On the Jets' initial Week 8 injury report released Wednesday, Rodgers was listed as a limited participant due to hamstring, knee and ankle injuries. Only the first two injuries are listed alongside his name on Thursday's report, but Rodgers may still need to upgrade to full participation Friday to avoid carrying a designation into Sunday's game against the Patriots. At this stage, the Jets haven't suggested that Rodgers' status for Sunday is in any real jeopardy.
Oct 23, 2024
Dealing with new hamstring injury
Rodgers will be limited in practice Wednesday due to hamstring, knee and ankle injuries, but his availability for Sunday's game against the Patriots isn't expected to be impacted, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, that Rodgers' hamstring "flared up" during last Sunday's 37-15 loss to the Steelers, noting that the injury may have hampered to veteran quarterback's ability to scramble on some plays. New York is hosting a walk-through practice Wednesday, so Rodgers' ability, or lack thereof, to practice Thursday and Friday will be more telling as to his health for Week 8. Rodgers and the 2-5 Jets are staring down a must-win divisional matchup against 1-6 Patriots on the road Sunday.
Oct 20, 2024
Falls in reunion with Adams
Rodgers completed 24 of 39 passes for 276 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 37-15 loss to the Steelers. He also threw a two-point conversion.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' best sequence came on a second-quarter drive that gave the Jets a 15-6 lead, as he connected with Breece Hall for a 57-yard gain through the air, then threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Conklin and followed that up with a two-point conversion to Garrett Wilson. His interception on the next possession turned the tide, though, as the Steelers turned that turnover into a touchdown before halftime, which spearheaded a 31-0 Pittsburgh run. Rodgers wasn't quite on the same page with familiar target Davante Adams, who had only 30 yards on nine targets in Adams' Jets debut after being acquired via trade from Vegas on Tuesday. Rodgers has the potential to put up gaudy numbers through the air against weaker defenses with Adams, Wilson and Hall among his targets, but the 2-5 Jets are running out of time to figure things out heading into a Week 8 trip to New England.
Oct 17, 2024
Full practice participant
Rodgers (ankle) was a full practice participant Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers has been banged up in recent weeks, but he's yet to miss a game and will make another start Sunday night in Pittsburgh. New Jets wideout and old friend Davante Adams (hamstring) was also a full practice participant Thursday and should be ready by Sunday night.
Oct 16, 2024
Not participating in walk-through
Rodgers (ankle) isn't slated to participate in Wednesday's walk-through practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
That said, interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich noted that Rodgers is on track to play Sunday against the Steelers, with the quarterback thus likely to practice fully by the end of the week. Meanwhile, star wideout Davante Adams (hamstring) -- whom the Jets obtained in a trade with the Raiders on Tuesday -- is slated to be listed as a full participant in Wednesday's walk-through and is expected to play this weekend. Rodgers suffered a left low-ankle sprain in the third quarter of the Jets' Week 5 loss to the Vikings in London, but he proceeded to take every snap on offense in Monday's loss to the Bills while completing 23 of 35 pass attempts for 294 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
Oct 14, 2024
Vintage Rodgers TD pass not enough
Rodgers completed 19 of 25 passes for 294 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Monday's 23-20 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers played well in the Jets' first game since firing head coach Robert Saleh and changing the offensive playcaller from Nathaniel Hackett to Todd Downing, but New York came up just short due to two missed field goals from Greg Zuerlein and numerous costly penalties on the offense. After tossing a five-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson in the first quarter, Rodgers delivered his best play as a Jet to give the team a spark on the final play of the first half, connecting with Allen Lazard for a 52-yard Hail Mary touchdown. The Jets moved the ball well in the second half as Rodgers came six yards shy of his first 300-yard passing performance since Week 14 of the 2021 season, but they failed to build a lead and eventually ran out of chances when Mike Williams fell down on Buffalo's game-sealing interception. The desperation level will be high for Rodgers and the 2-4 Jets against the Steelers on SNF in Week 7.
Oct 12, 2024
Ready to play Monday
Rodgers (ankle) does not carry an injury designation in Monday's game against the Bills, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
There really never seemed to be any risk Rodgers would miss the primetime contest, especially after the shake up to the coaching staff following the firing of head coach Robert Saleh. The Jets also replaced offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett with Todd Downing, who will be taking over play-calling duties for the dysfunctional offense. As a result, it's fair to assume the offense and Rodgers could look better, even if it's only a week, given the scrutiny on everyone in New York.
Oct 11, 2024
Limited by ankle Friday
Rodgers (ankle) remained limited in practice Friday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers has registered back-to-back limited practices as the Jets prepare for Monday's pivotal home game against the Bills, the winner of which will have first place in the AFC East. He's dealing with a low-ankle sprain, but Rodgers may be over the hamstring injury that has also been bothering him, as the hamstring isn't listed on Friday's injury report. He'll try to upgrade to full participation Saturday in an effort to avoid an injury designation.
Oct 10, 2024
Set for limited practice
Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said Thursday that Rodgers (ankle/hamstring) will practice in a limited capacity but will be ready for Monday's divisional matchup against the Bills, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers is dealing with both a low-ankle sprain and hamstring injury in the aftermath of New York's 23-17 loss to the Vikings in London, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. The veteran signal-caller appeared to sustain at least the ankle issue during the third quarter of the Jets' loss to Minnesota, but he didn't ultimately miss a single of the team's 71 offensive snaps while attempting a season-high 54 passes. Monday's divisional contest against Buffalo will feature a transformed Jets team, with former head coach Robert Saleh having been fired and passing game coordinator Todd Downing slated to take over offensive playcalling duties, per Albert Breer of SI.com, but at the least Rodgers' availability doesn't seem to be in any jeopardy.
Oct 7, 2024
Ankle injury not overly concerning
Head coach Robert Saleh said Monday that Rodgers' sprained left ankle will be examined further, but the Jets have been encouraged by all the preliminary evaluations of the injury, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers is tending to a low-ankle sprain, which he appeared to sustain when he took a big hit from a defender while tossing an incomplete pass to Breece Hall on 3rd-and-10 with 6:11 remaining in the third quarter of Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Vikigns. However, after a roughing the punter penalty extended the Jets' drive, Rodgers returned to the field for the next offensive play and ended up playing all 71 snaps in the loss, completing 29 of 54 attempts for two touchdowns, three interceptions and 244 yards. Though Saleh's comments suggest that the expectation is that Rodgers will be good to go for the Jets' Week 6 game Monday against the Bills, the veteran quarterback's practice participation could still be managed leading up to the contest.
Oct 6, 2024
Dealing with ankle issue
Rodgers relayed after Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Vikings that he's dealing with a low-ankle sprain, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' status will thus be worth monitoring ahead of the Jets' Oct. 14 game against the Bills. Added context on that front will arrive no later than Thursday, when the team resumes practice.
Oct 6, 2024
Three picks in loss
Rodgers completed 29 of 54 passes for 254 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
The Jets fell behind 17-0 late in the second quarter, leading Rodgers to attempt a season-high 54 pass attempts. He put up decent stats based on that volume, but he was inefficient by posting 4.7 yards per attempt while still looking off-sync with many of his targets. Rodgers also threw three interceptions in a game for only the sixth time in his career, four of which have come in 2017 or earlier -- including a game-sealing pick on a potential game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter. Positively, Rodgers has multiple touchdowns in three of his last four games and has reached 225 passing yards in each of his last three contests.
Oct 4, 2024
Cleared for takeoff in London
Rodgers (knee) isn't listed on Friday's injury report and will start Sunday's game against the Vikings in London, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was banged up in the Jets' Week 4 loss to Denver but didn't miss any snaps in that game and returned to full practice participation Thursday, suggesting he was never truly in danger of sitting out against Minnesota. Friday's confirmation of his availability will spare Rodgers' fantasy managers the headache of getting up early to check on his status before Sunday's 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Oct 3, 2024
Logs full practice
Rodgers (knee) practiced fully Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was limited Wednesday, though head coach Robert Saleh indicated that he was "not concerned" about the quarterback's Week 5 availability. With a full practice under his belt, Rodgers is set to start Sunday's game against the Vikings, while throwing to a WR corps currently led by Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard and Mike Williams. Meanwhile, the Jets are reportedly high on the wish list of star pass catcher Davante Adams, in terms of his preferred trade fits.
Oct 2, 2024
Limited in practice
Rodgers (knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, but coach Robert Saleh said he's "not concerned" about the quarterback's availability Sunday against Minnesota, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The prior expectation was that Rodgers would be a full practice participant, but some limitations to start the week shouldn't threaten his availability for the game in London this Sunday. He's been getting treatment for a swollen knee after mentioning that both of his legs hurt during Sunday's 10-9 loss to Denver.
Oct 2, 2024
Set to practice fully
Rodgers (knee) is slated to practice fully Wednesday, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Connor Hughes of SNY.tv, Rodgers has been getting treatment as he contends with some knee swelling. However, the QB's looming full practice participation sets the stage for him to be available Sunday against the Vikings, with Rich Cimini of ESPN.com relaying that coach Robert Saleh is not concerned about Rodgers' Week 5 availability.
Oct 1, 2024
Dealing with knee swelling
Rodgers (leg) said Tuesday on the Pat McAfee Show that his knee feels swollen in the aftermath of Sunday's 10-9 loss to the Broncos, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers said he's "feeling a little banged up" and his "knee is a little swollen" following a Week 4 loss that featured ugly weather. The veteran quarterback was sacked five times versus Denver and could be seen moving gingerly in the second half, and though Rodgers said after the contest that both his legs were hurt, Jets head coach Robert Saleh downplayed any serious concerns. Wednesday's first official injury report of Week 5 will reveal more about Rodgers' health heading into a road matchup against the Vikings' intimidating defense on Sunday, but thus far there aren't any indications that the 40-year-old is dealing with something he could be unable to play through.
Sep 29, 2024
Struggles in rainy loss
Rodgers completed 24 of 42 passes for 255 yards, without a touchdown or interception, in Sunday's 10-9 loss to the Broncos. He added five rushing attempts for 26 yards.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers racked up 59 of his 81 first-half passing yards in the two-minute drill to help the Jets take a 6-0 lead into the locker room. The Jets' first field goal was set up by a 34-yard pass interference penalty drawn on a Rodgers throw to Allen Lazard, which accounted for the only first-quarter first down for either team on a rainy afternoon in MetLife Stadium. New York's next first down didn't come until a 14-yard run by Rodgers after the halfway point of the second quarter. Both offenses moved the ball better after halftime, but Rodgers failed to lead a touchdown drive, and a missed Greg Zuerlein 50-yard field-goal attempt in the final minute of the fourth quarter dipped the Jets' record to 2-2 heading into a Week 5 London matchup against the Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Rodgers took five sacks and was moving gingerly in the second half. The veteran quarterback said after the game that both his legs are bothering him, per Connor Hughes of The Athletic, but coach Robert Saleh said Rodgers will be f

Best game as Jet yet
Rodgers completed 27 of 35 passes for 281 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Jets' 24-23 win over the Patriots on Thursday night. He also rushed three times for 18 yards.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers connected with Allen Lazard and Garrett Wilson for touchdown passes of 10 and two yards, respectively, on his way to his best game as a Jet yet. Rodgers' passing yardage total was his highest since Week 9 of the 2022 season, when he threw for 291 yards against the Lions as a member of the Packers. The four-time NFL MVP recorded completions to eight targets overall, and he appears to clearly be shaking off the last of the rust he accumulated in 2023 as he preps for a Week 4 home matchup against the Broncos on Sunday, Sept. 29.
Sep 15, 2024
Throws two TDs in Week 2 win
Rodgers completed 18 of 30 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns while rushing twice for one yard in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers relied on his running backs, throwing a touchdown pass apiece to Breece Hall (26 yards) and Braelon Allen (12 yards) while also watching Allen run in a game-winning 20-yard touchdown with less than five minutes remaining. The veteran quarterback's stats don't jump off the page, but Rodgers did enough to get the Jets in the win column heading into Thursday's home opener against the Patriots. Rodgers has yet to reach 200 passing yards in a game with the Jets.
Sep 9, 2024
Rusty in return
Rodgers completed 13 of 21 passes for 167 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Monday's 32-19 loss to the 49ers. He also rushed once for minus-1 yard.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers had just 64 passing yards in the first half, 62 of which came on a 12-play, 70-yard touchdown drive on the Jets' third possession, which was capped by a three-yard Breece Hall touchdown run. The veteran quarterback was picked off on a tipped ball on the Jets' first drive of the second half, but Rodgers bounced back with a 36-yard touchdown pass to Allen Lazard on a free play on the following drive. New York couldn't get any closer, though, and Tyrod Taylor mopped up with a touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter after the game got out of reach. Overall, Rodgers gave the Jets two vintage drives and looked like a 40-year-old quarterback coming off an Achilles tear the rest of the game. Perhaps he'll sustain a higher level of play longer once he settles in, and Rodgers should benefit from facing the Titans in Week 2 rather than a vaunted 49ers defense coming off a Super Bowl appearance.
Sep 4, 2024
Looks healthy heading into Week 1
Rodgers didn't look hindered by his surgically repaired Achilles in training camp and will have no limitations in Monday's regular-season opener against the 49ers, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' first season with the Jets disastrously came to an end after just four plays due to an Achilles tear, but he has worked his way back to full health and is ready to go one year later. Rodgers had a heavier than usual workload in training camp to help shake off the rust, but it won't be possible to fully judge his readiness to return to action until the 40-year-old quarterback steps on the field in a game situation Monday.

Not playing Saturday
Rodgers and other starters aren't in line to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Giants, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, given previous reports that Rodgers wouldn't play this preseason. His first game appearance since suffering an Achilles' tear will come Week 1 at San Francisco on Monday Night Football, against a defense led by DE Nick Bosa, LB Fred Warner and CB Charvarius Ward. The Niners may start off without two of their better defensive players from last year, as LB Dre Greenlaw (Achilles) and S Talanoa Hufanga (ACL) are still on the PUP list heading into the final week of August.

Preseason action unlikely
Coach Robert Saleh indicated Tuesday that he doesn't think Rodgers will play during the preseason, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
Iannazzone notes via Saleh that Rodgers won't see action in either of the Jets' first two preseason contests, while Rich Cimini of ESPN.com relays that the coach's instinct at this time is to not play the veteran QB in the team's Aug. 24 preseason finale against the Giants either. Given the fact that Rodgers is bouncing back from an Achilles injury, it's not surprising that caution is being exercised here, but barring any setbacks the 40-year-old will helm New York's offense in Week 1 against the 49ers.

Rodgers won't see action in either of the Jets' first two preseason contests, while Rich Cimini of ESPN.com relays that the coach's instinct at this time is to not play the veteran QB in the team's Aug. 24 preseason finale against the Giants either. Given the fact that Rodgers is returning from an Achilles injury, it's not surprising that caution is being exercised. The 40-year-old is still on track to helm New York's offense in Week 1 against the 49ers.

Unsure about playing past 2024
Rodgers said Monday on Pardon My Take that he likes the idea of playing two more seasons but isn't yet sure about anything beyond 2024, Henry McKenna of FOX Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers mentioned wanting to play at least two more years after he was traded to the Jets last offseason, obviously unable to anticipate that his first campaign would last just four snaps. He came back from an Achilles' tear and participated in a majority of practices this spring, with the exception being an absence for June minicamp that the Jets were informed of ahead of time. Rodgers is back with his teammates for the start of training camp, leading an offense that made some big changes this offseason -- namely the additions of OTs Tyron Smith, Morgan Moses and Olu Fashanu as well as WRs Mike Williams (knee) and Malachi Corley.

Skipping minicamp
Rodgers (Achilles) is missing June minicamp for an unspecified event, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The absence technically is unexcused, though Rodgers informed the Jets well ahead of time. That means he can be fined by the team, which apparently is a price he's willing to pay to attend his event. Coach Robert Saleh didn't seem bothered by the absence, perhaps because Rodgers was at a number of voluntary practices this spring. The 40-year-old QB seems to have avoided setbacks with the Achilles' tear he suffered last September and should be a full go for the start of training camp in late July.

No limitations at OTAs, as expected
Coach Robert Saleh said Tuesday that Rodgers (Achilles) is "doing everything" at OTAs, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was expected to be without restrictions at OTAs, but confirmation that he's doing everything at practices so far is positive sign as to the 40-year-old's recovery progress. While Rodgers' progress will still need to be monitored until he's resumed handling full contact activities, it's worth noting that he did manage to resume practicing with the Jets down the stretch of the 2023 season. Meanwhile, Mike Williams (knee) hasn't yet been cleared to do more than work off to the side.
May 3, 2024
Won't be limited in OTAs
According to coach Robert Saleh, Rodgers will have "no restrictions" when the Jets begin their OTA practices May 20, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
After suffering a torn left Achilles' four snaps into his first season with the Jets, Rodgers underwent surgery to address the issue Sept. 14. While the veteran signal caller didn't see any game action prior to the conclusion of the 2023 campaign, he did practice on a limited basis down the stretch. With that in mind, it's not surprising that the 40-year-old is on track to practice in full during phase three of New York's OTAs later this month. When it comes to his supporting cast this coming season, Tyrod Taylor is slated to serve as the team's No. 2 QB, top running back Breece Hall is further removed from the ACL tear that derailed his 2022 season, and the team's wideout corps has been fortified by free-agent addition Mike Williams (knee) and 2024 third-rounder Malachi Corley. Still, Rodgers' fantasy upside hinges on whether he's able to avoid any setbacks as he looks to regain his pre-injury form.

Hopes to play multiple more seasons
Rodgers (Achilles) recently told the Look Into It Podcast that he hopes to play 2-4 more years in the NFL, per John Breech of CBS Sports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers hinted at a multi-year commitment when he was traded to the Jets last offseason, with his contract supporting that notion via full guarantees for his compensation in 2023 and 2024. He famously played just four snaps in the first season before tearing his left Achilles' tendon, and he was unable to return even with an aggressive rehab plan. Rodgers did practice with the Jets toward the end of the season -- including as the first-team QB in Week 18 -- but wasn't able to resume sprinting at full strength before the conclusion of the campaign. He previously mentioned wanting to play two more years beyond 2023, and even in the recent podcast interview he acknowledged he'd need "good fortune" to make it three or four more seasons. Rodgers turned 40 in December and should be back at full strength for the start of the Jets offseason program this spring.

Starting QB in last three practice
Rodgers (Achilles) led the Jets' first-team offense in the final three practices of the season, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers didn't return to game action after tearing his Achilles just four snaps into his Jets tenure, but he was activated from injured reserve down the stretch, allowing him to practice with the team. After running the scout team and working at less than full speed in his first few weeks back, Rodgers quarterbacked the first-team offense for the last three practices, which were closed to the media. His teammates raved about Rodgers' performances in the final three practices, suggesting the veteran quarterback's Achilles is at or close to full health heading into the offseason.
Dec 20, 2023
Activated from IR, won't play
Rodgers (Achilles) was activated from injured reserve Wednesday but won't play in any more games this season, ESPN.com's Rich Cimini reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers wouldn't have been able to continue practicing if the Jets had left him on injured reserve beyond Wednesday. It's probably the first time a player has come back from IR with no intention of playing in games; the Jets want Rodgers to get more work with many of the players that will block for him or catch passes from him next season. Zach Wilson (concussion) or Trevor Siemian will start Sunday's game against the Commanders.
Dec 20, 2023
Coming off IR, but not slated to play
Coach Robert Saleh noted Wednesday that the Jets plan to activate Rodgers (Achilles) from IR in order for the veteran QB to continue to practice as part of his injury rehab process.
ANALYSIS
Though Rodgers is slated to come off IR, he's not in line to play in a game for the Jets (who have been eliminated from playoff contention) before the end of the season, per Adam Schefter of ESPN and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. In terms of who will be the Jets' Week 16 signal-caller, Zach Wilson remains in the NFL's concussion protocol, and if he's not cleared ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders, Trevor Siemian would be in line to start in his place.
Dec 19, 2023
Likely not coming off IR this week
Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday that it's unlikely that he'll be activated from injured reserve this week, which would end his 2023 season, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
In most similar circumstances, a player returning to action just 14 weeks removed from surgery to repair a torn Achilles would be out of the realm of possibility, but Rodgers has been on an accelerated rehab that included throwing before a Week 6 win versus the Eagles, getting designated for return from IR on Nov. 29 and logging back-to-back practices the last two weeks. Rodgers noted Tuesday that he won't be 100 percent for another 3-to-4 weeks, so it's apparent that Saturday's report from Adam Schefter of ESPN that the quarterback was slated to be medically cleared this week was overly optimistic. With Zach Wilson in the concussion protocol at the moment, the Jets may have to roll with Trevor Siemian under center Sunday against the Commanders.
Dec 16, 2023
May be medically cleared this week
Rodgers (Achilles) is in line to receive medical clearance to play this coming week, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Since Rodgers tore his left Achilles four offensive plays into the season back on Sept. 11 against the Bills, he's embarked on an unprecedented recovery effort. He was spotted throwing on the field before a Week 6 win against the Eagles, which he did multiple times until the Jets designated him for return from injured reserve on Nov. 29. Rodgers has been able to practice for three weeks in a row at this point, including logging work in back-to-back sessions the last two weeks. New York needs a win Sunday at Miami to keep its faint playoff hopes alive, and if that comes to pass, Rodgers seemingly could find himself back on the Jets' active roster by midweek. Whether or not he's allowed to play in a game remains to be seen, but his stated goal has been a return for a Week 16 matchup with the Commanders on Sunday, Dec. 24. As long as Rodgers is sidelined, though, Zach Wilson will continue to direct the offense.
Dec 15, 2023
Won't return in Week 15
Rodgers (Achilles) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Miami, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Since Rodgers was designated for return from injured reserve Nov. 29, he's been listed as limited on six of nine Jets practice reports, including both Thursday and Friday this week. The team will need to make a decision on activating him from IR by the middle of next week, which may be contingent on winning Sunday's key AFC East matchup. In the end, it seems highly unlikely that Rodgers will complete his quick rehab from the torn Achilles that he sustained back in Week 1 and be able to play before season's end, but there's still a small chance of that coming to pass. New York will continue to roll with Zach Wilson under center moving forward.
Dec 14, 2023
Puts in limited practice Thursday
Rodgers (Achilles) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
The 5-8 Jets kept their faint playoff hopes alive with a win over the Texans last Sunday, so at least for one more week, Rodgers will continue his accelerated rehab program for his surgically repaired left Achilles with the hope of making an improbable late-season return. Before he resumed practicing Nov. 29, Rodgers implied that he was targeting the Week 16 game against the Commanders on Dec. 24 for his return to the lineup, but even if the Jets are able to score another upset win over the Dolphins this Sunday, it's unclear if the four-time league MVP will realistically be able on a path to play one week later. Rodgers has thus far been listed as a limited participant five times in the Jets' eight practices since he had his 21-day evaluation window opened, and in his most recent appearance Tuesday on "The Pat McAfee Show," the 40-year-old quarterback downplayed reports suggesting that he was on track to be medically cleared next week, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. As such, Zach Wilson appears more likely than
Dec 7, 2023
Limited in return to practice
Rodgers (Achilles) was a limited practice participant Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was held out of Wednesday's session seemingly as part of a pre-planned maintenance program for his surgically repaired Achilles, but as expected, he was back on the field Thursday, albeit with a cap on his reps. Since having his 21-day evaluation window opened Nov. 29, Rodgers has managed three limited practices over five total sessions. Rodgers has previously stated that he's aiming to return for a Week 16 game against the Commanders on Dec. 24, but the odds of the 40-year-old quarterback playing again this season appear to be dwindling while the 4-8 Jets have started to fade from the AFC playoff picture. Another loss Sunday to the Texans or in Week 15 against the Dolphins could prompt Rodgers to close the door on a return to game action this season, though Ian Rapoport of NFL Network recently reported that Rodgers could be added to the 53-man roster when his evaluation window closes and continue to take part in practices while serving as an emergency No. 3 quarterback over the Jets' final three game
Dec 6, 2023
Not practicing
Rodgers (Achilles) won't practice Wednesday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
His absence reportedly was planned, though it also was reported last week that he'd practice on consecutive days this week. That still might happen Thursday and Friday, even if a return to games in 2023 appears highly unlikely with the Jets sitting at 4-8 after a loss to Atlanta this past Sunday. Zach Wilson will start Week 14 against Houston.
Dec 3, 2023
Return this season still unlikely
Rodgers remains unlikely to play again this season, despite experiencing no setbacks with his surgically repaired Achilles' tendon during his return to practice this past week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' ability to get back on the practice field just 77 days after undergoing Achilles surgery Sept. 13 was already unprecedented for any player attempting to return from a similar injury, but since he's still facing significant limitations and isn't close to 100 percent healthy, the expectation remains that he'll be sidelined for the rest of the season, especially if the 4-7 Jets continue to fade from the playoff picture. The Jets will have until Dec. 20 to formally activate Rodgers or keep him on IR for the rest of the season, and even if the team's playoff standing hasn't improved by that point, Rapoport suggests that New York could still keep the 40-year-old on the 53-man roster as an emergency third quarterback. In such a scenario, Rodgers would continue to remain inactive on game days, though having him on the roster would help him stay connected and more involved with the Jets. While Rodgers remains on IR for now, however, the Jets will go with Tim Boyle as their starting quarterback for the second
Dec 1, 2023
Officially out this week
Rodgers (Achilles) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
The 40-year-old is said to be targeting a return Week 16 against Washington, though he's made it clear he won't come back this season unless the Jets have a chance to make the playoffs. Rodgers was limited in practice Wednesday and Friday, sandwiched around a Thursday absence, with ESPN's Rich Cimini reporting that the QB intends to intensify his regimen next week. Rodgers intends to practice on consecutive days next week and hasn't ruled out returning to games before the reported Week 16 target date. In the meantime, Tim Boyle and Co. need to beat the Falcons this Sunday to keep any realistic hope alive for a playoff berth and a Rodgers return.
Dec 1, 2023
Back to limited practice Friday
Rodgers (Achilles) will be a limited participant in practice Friday, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Allen, Rodgers is alternating practices and days off as part of his rehab schedule. Rodgers had his 21-day window to return from IR opened Wednesday, but he's unlikely to be activated until the end of that window, if at all. Per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, Rodgers plans to increase his practice regimen next week in hopes of moving up his return timeline, though Rodgers also said Thursday that "I don't think it would make a ton of sense" to play in a game with no playoff implications, so the 4-7 Jets would likely have to string some wins together and remain in the playoff hunt for Rodgers to have a chance at suiting up for the team again in 2023.
Nov 30, 2023
Sits out Thursday's practice
Rodgers (Achilles) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
One day after he was designated for return from injured reserve and took part in practice as a limited participant, Rodgers was a spectator for the Jets' second session of the week. As Cimini notes, Rodgers' absence from practice wasn't the result of any setback in his recovery from Achilles surgery, as the quarterback's rehab plan simply calls for him to mix in lighter days of activity as he works his way back closer to full strength. Rodgers continues to target the team's Week 16 matchup with the Commanders for his potential return to game action, though he's stated that any comeback attempt this season will hinge on the 4-7 Jets remaining in playoff contention by late December.
Nov 29, 2023
Limited in return to practice
Rodgers (Achilles) was a limited participant Wednesday in his return to practice and hopes to play Dec. 24 against the Commanders, ESPN.com's Rich Cimini reports.
ANALYSIS
His return makes the start of a 21-day window in which he can be activated to the roster before defaulting back to injured reserve for the rest of the season. Both outcomes remain possible at this point, with Rodgers having noted multiple times that his return would depend on both his health and the Jets having a shot to make the playoffs. He's been cleared for "functional football activity" but not contact, and his return to practice Wednesday didn't include participation in 11-on-11s. The Week 16 contest Rodgers is targeting will be played three and a half months after his injury, which would make him the first NFL player to suit up for a game less than five months after suffering an Achilles' tear.
Nov 29, 2023
Returning to practice Wednesday
Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced announced Wednesday that Rodgers (Achilles) has been designated for return from injured reserve.
ANALYSIS
The transaction officially opens up a 21-day window in which Rodgers can participate in practices while the Jets evaluate him for a return from IR. According to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, Saleh noted that while Rodgers has been cleared for functional football activity, the veteran quarterback is not yet ready to take contact just over two and a half months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn left Achilles' tendon. Rodgers is thus slated to be a limited participant in practices, and he's uncertain to be activated from IR once the evaluation window closes in three weeks. In any case, Wednesday's move is at least another step forward in Rodgers potentially playing again this season, though the 39-year-old has suggested that any return will hinge on the 4-7 Jets remaining in playoff contention in the weeks to come.

Not ready, still eyeing '23 return
Rodgers (Achilles) said Tuesday during his weekly appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he's "not at an ability to play at this point," but noted that he's still not ruling out a return to game action in 2023 so long as the Jets remain in playoff contention, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
While going into detail about his rehab, Rodgers said that he's now back at the Jets' facility on a full-time basis and has resumed running on anti-gravity treadmill at approximately 70 percent of his body weight and at 8 miles per hour. Rodgers noted that his next step is to resume throwing to his teammates and going through the individual portions of practice, something that Ian Rapoport of NFL Network previously reported could happen as soon as this week. Before Rodgers is eligible to take part in individual work at practice, the Jets will have to designate him for return from IR. Once that happens, the Jets will then have 21 days to evaluate Rodgers for a return to the 53-man roster. Since Rodgers would then likely need the entire three-week window to get himself in position to play in a game, he's believed to be targeting a return to action for the team's Week 16 game versus the Commanders on Dec. 24. However, the Jets have lost four games in a row and now hold a 4-7 record, so if the team continues to f

Waiting for doctor's clearance
Rodgers (Achilles) is in New York, pushing to get back to practice, but still has to get the team doctor's clearance before he can resume practice, Jay Glazer reported on "Fox NFL Sunday."
ANALYSIS
The implication here is that Rodgers is pushing hard to come back, but he might be pushing too hard, too soon. In such a scenario, the doctors might be "saving Rodgers from himself."The Jets have already announced that Tim Boyle will start again in Week 13, and Rodgers is targeting Week 16 as a potential return.

Hoping to practice early December
Rodgers (Achilles) said Tuesday on The Pat McAfee Show that he's aiming to return to practice by his birthday, which is Dec. 2, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers has said that his target for a return to game action is Dec. 24 against Washington, so if all goes according to plan, he could return to practice and have his 21-day window to be activated from injured reserve opened in early December. New York's quarterback situation in Rodgers' absence has grown even more dire following the benching of Zach Wilson in the team's Week 11 loss to Buffalo, which was the Jets' third consecutive defeat and dropped their record to 4-6. It's up to Tim Boyle to keep the Jets afloat and within striking distance until Rodgers is possibly healthy enough to return for a late-season playoff push.
Nov 19, 2023
Week 16 potential target for return?
Rodgers, who remains on IR with an Achilles' injury, is reportedly eyeing a potential return in mid-December, with the Jets' Week 16 game against the Commanders a possible target, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
That said, any potential return to action before the end of the season for Rodgers would presumably hinge on whether he can protect himself on the field, as well as where the 4-5 Jets are in the NFL standings. For the time being, Zach Wilson remains the team's starting QB.

Expects to return, but no timeline
Rodgers (Achilles) said on the Pat McAfee Show Tuesday that he expects to return later in the season, but he's not targeting a specific date, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, NBC's Melissa Stark said Sunday night that Rodgers' goal was to return from injured reserve in mid-December, but it appears the quarterback is taking things one step at a time. The four-time MVP suffered a torn Achilles in Week 1 against the Bills and was initially expected to miss his entire inaugural season with the Jets, but the team has been optimistic about a potential return if they could stay in the playoff hunt. After losing to the Raiders on Sunday Night Football, the Jets dropped to 4-5 and face a reeling Bills team on the road in Week 11.
Nov 12, 2023
Hoping to be back mid-December
Rodgers (Achilles) told NBC's Melissa Stark on Sunday that his goal is to return from injured reserve in mid-December, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
A return prior to January from the torn Achilles that Rodgers suffered in Week 1 against the Bills is highly unlikely, but the quarterback is optimistic that he'll be back earlier than most experts expect. If he indeed manages to return in mid-December, Rodgers could contribute to a potential playoff push, as the Jets entered Sunday's game against the Raiders at 4-4. New York's Dec. 17 game against the Dolphins in Week 15 is the the team's fourth-to-last game of the season.
Nov 6, 2023
Throwing again Monday
Rodgers (Achilles) was spotted throwing prior to Monday's game against the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
As he's done before at least one other game since tearing his left Achilles in Week 1, Rodgers made at least a handful of tosses, only this time he was doing so after taking three-step drops, per Judy Battista of NFL Network. Rodgers also made some 50-yard throws, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. During his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show last Tuesday, Rodgers said that he hasn't started jogging yet, but he's able to walk without discomfort. There does seem to be a slight chance that Rodgers will be able to play again this season, but he's also admitted that the Jets need to be in the mix for the playoffs in order to return. In the meantime, Zach Wilson will continue to lead New York's offense.
Oct 31, 2023
Not yet jogging
Rodgers (Achilles) said Tuesday during his weekly appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he's not yet jogging, but is able to walk without any discomfort, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers added that he's able to do calf-raising exercises and put "legitimate" weight on his surgically repaired left Achilles' tendon, leaving him optimistic that he'll be able to play again this season. However, Rodgers emphasized that he still has many checkpoints to hit in his recovery and noted that the Jets need to be "alive" in order for him to take the field. Given that the 39-year-old Rodgers underwent surgery Sept. 13 and is working his way back from an injury that typically entails a 6-to-9-month recovery period, the Jets will likely need to make a deep playoff run just for the veteran quarterback to have an outside shot at being available to play.
Oct 16, 2023
Spotted throwing on field Sunday
Rodgers (Achilles) threw on the field for approximately five minutes prior to the Jets' 20-14 win over the Eagles on Sunday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Rodgers was in a stationary position while throwing, he was notably stepping into each pass while putting weight on his surgically repaired left Achilles' tendon. While Achilles injuries often entail a 6-to-9-month recovery, the 39-year-old has remained adamant since having his surgery Sept. 13 that he'll beat the typical timeline and make it back on the field at some point during the 2023 season. Since he's already moving about without crutches, Rodgers may be further along in his rehab process than most players one month removed from surgery, but he still has several more critical checkpoints to hit in his recovery before the team seriously entertains activating him from injured reserve. In all likelihood, the Jets would have to qualify for the playoffs and make a deep postseason run for Rodgers to become a realistic option to play.
Oct 5, 2023
Sights set on return this season
Rodgers (Achilles) said Tuesday in his appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he's "well ahead of the normal protocols" and remains optimistic that he'll be able to return to action before the conclusion of the 2023 season, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. "There's nothing normal about how I'm attacking this rehab," Rodgers said. "The common practice is about six weeks in a boot, and I was in a shoe in 13 days."
ANALYSIS
In addition to recovering from the surgery he underwent three weeks ago on his ruptured left Achilles' tendon, Rodgers disclosed Tuesday that he's also dealing with a deltoid issue, which he presumably sustained when he injured the Achilles just three snaps into his Jets debut in the Week 1 win over the Bills. Rodgers is wearing a brace to protect the deltoid, but he otherwise looks to already be making strong progress in his recovery from Achilles surgery, as Cimini notes that the quarterback was "walking briskly" with the aid of crutches prior to this past Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. Rodgers will move his rehab to California for the next two weeks before rejoining the Jets following their Week 7 bye, but the 39-year-old is still facing an uphill battle to play again this season, even if New York qualifies for the playoffs and makes a deep run. A typical recovery from an Achilles' tendon tear is 6-to-9 months, and while Rodgers is optimistic he'll be able to beat that timeline, even a four-month recovery wo

Hopeful for postseason return
Rodgers is targeting a return to action during the playoffs after undergoing an innovative surgery Wednesday in Los Angeles to repair his torn left Achilles' tendon, Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network report.
ANALYSIS
Achilles tears have historically been season-ending injuries, with Rams running back Cam Akers -- who needed just under five months to recover from surgery in 2021 -- having thus far staged the fastest known recovery from the injury. Rodgers is hopeful to match or beat that five-month recovery timeline, which would fall just under a week before Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas. According to the report, Rodgers and the Jets are optimistic that he'll be in store for an accelerated rehab after his surgery included a procedure to place an internal bridge or "speed bridge" into the ruptured Achilles. The speed bridge is designed to better protect the repaired tendon and open the door for a return from surgery in as little as four months, though there are no guarantees, given that the procedure is a relatively novel one. In addition, Rodgers is expected to receive platelet-rich plasma injections to aid in accelerating the healing process. In a best-case scenario, Rodgers could be ready to play by mid-January, but that

Aiming to return in 2024
Rodgers (Achilles) implied Friday during his appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he intends to return to the field for the Jets in 2024, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. "Give me the doubts...give me the things that you think can should or will happen. All I need is that one little extra percent of inspiration. That's all I need," Rodgers said.
ANALYSIS
Before the Jets acquired him from the Packers in April, Rodgers famously took his time earlier in the offseason to decide whether he wanted to continue his playing career in 2023. Rodgers ultimately opted against retirement in order to play a 19th NFL season, only for it to end after just four snaps Monday, when he suffered a torn Achilles' tendon in his Jets debut in the team's 22-16 overtime win over the Bills. Per Rapoport, Rodgers told McAfee that he experienced "a lot of sadness, a lot of tears" as a result of the significant injury, but he had surgery Wednesday and now appears to be committed to attacking his rehab with the intention of being ready for the 2024 season. Though he'll turn 40 years old in December and will be working his way back from major surgery, Rodgers seems optimistic that he's capable of returning to top form.

Undergoes surgery
Rodgers underwent surgery to repair his torn left Achilles on Wednesday, Kimberley A. Martin of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers sustained the injury in his Jets debut Monday against Buffalo and will be out for the rest of the season. Dr. Neal ElAttrache completed the surgery, which Rodgers indicated was successful in a post on Instagram. He will now begin a long recovery, with the potential goal of returning for the 2024 season.

Heads to injured reserve
The Jets officially placed Rodgers (Achilles) on injured reserve Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
This comes as no surprise after an MRI confirmed that Rodgers sustained a torn left Achilles in Monday's overtime win against the Bills. He'll thus miss the rest of his first season with the Jets, handing off the offense to third-year pro Zach Wilson. Considering his age (39), it stands to wonder if he'll attempt to ramp up for a 20th campaign in 2024.
Sep 12, 2023
Achilles tear confirmed
The Jets have confirmed via an MRI on Tuesday that Rodgers (Achilles) suffered a season-ending complete tear of his left Achilles' tendon during Monday's 22-16 overtime win against the Bills, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' torn Achilles' brings an early end to his inaugural campaign with the Jets, as he went down on the team's fourth offensive play. His absence severely undermines the fantasy upside of the Jets' skill-position players, most notably Garrett Wilson, as well as Allen Lazard, Mecole Hardman and Tyler Conklin. Coach Robert Saleh has already said that New York will proceed with Zach Wilson as the starter for the remainder of the season, but it nonetheless wouldn't be surprising if the team opts to explore bringing in another veteran option. The severity of Rodgers' injury even clouds his future with the Jets, as even with roughly 12 months to rehab for the 2024 season, there will be few guarantees entering his age-40 campaign.
Sep 11, 2023
Likely has Achilles injury
The Jets believe that Rodgers suffered an Achilles injury during Monday's 22-16 overtime win against the Bills, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers got injured on the Jets' fourth offensive play and needed assistance reaching the sidelines before being carted to the locker room. X-rays were returned negative, but the 39-year-old quarterback was seen wearing a walking boot on his left foot. When combined with the fact coach Robert Saleh called Zach Wilson the team's starting quarterback the rest of the season, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Tuesday's MRI likely will confirm the worst news for Rodgers.
Sep 11, 2023
Will not return
Rodgers (ankle) will not return to Monday's game against the Bills.
ANALYSIS
The good news is Rodgers' X-rays came back negative, but the injury is still severe enough to keep him out for the remainder of the game. That leaves Zach Wilson as the only healthy option under center for the rest of the game.
Sep 11, 2023
Seen in walking boot
Rodgers (ankle) underwent X-rays and was subsequently seen wearing a walking boot as he made his way to the locker room, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was able to limp off the field with an ankle injury before getting carted to the locker room. There is no word on the result of the X-rays, but his walking boot does not bode well for his chances to return. Still, the team is labeling him as questionable to return.

Questionable to return
Rodgers is considered questionable to return to Monday's game against the Bills due to an ankle injury.

Rodgers took a sack on the Jets' opening drive and subsequently limped off the field to the medical tent. From there, he was carted to the locker room. There is no word on the severity of the issue other than he is questionable to return. Zach Wilson replaced Rodgers under center.

Heads to medical tent
Rodgers left Monday's season opening game against the Bills early after suffering an undisclosed injury, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers limped off the field after taking a sack and headed to the medical tent. There is no word on the specific injury or the severity at this time. Zach Wilson replaced Rodgers under center.

Makes team debut
Rodgers made his first preseason appearance with the Jets on Saturday, completing five of his eight pass attempts for 47 yards and a touchdown in an exhibition win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers made his first preseason appearance since 2018 in order to officially debut with the Jets following 17 seasons with the Packers. The 39-year-old was on the field for the first two offensive drives before ending his brief outing with a touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson. Fantasy managers are hoping for that scoring connection between the new teammates to repeat often this upcoming season. Rodgers will make his first regular-season start with New York against Buffalo on Sept. 11.
Aug 20, 2023
Debut coming in preseason finale
Rodgers will play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Giants, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers will make his long awaited Jets debut next Saturday versus the G-men, with Zach Wilson having started the previous three exhibition matchups. Costello cites an unnamed source, so the team has yet to officially announced Rodgers as next weekend's starters, but coach Robert Saleh has already alluded to the veteran making a cameo on numerous occasions. The 39-year-old signal-caller will likely only handle a handful of snaps versus the Giants, in preparation for his first full start, a difficult Week 1 matchup against the division rival Bills.
Aug 3, 2023
Could see snaps in preseason finale
Coach Robert Saleh noted earlier this week that if Rodgers plays during the preseason, it would be for "a quick tuneup" in the Jets' exhibition finale on Aug. 26 versus the Giants, Randy Lange of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
With the Jets playing it safe with the veteran QB, Zach Wilson is in line to draw the start in Thursday's preseason opener against the Browns and quite possibly the team's subsequent exhibition tilts. Assuming Rodgers is limited to a cameo appearance in the preseason, his first full contest with the Jets will occur in Week 1 against the Bills.
Aug 1, 2023
Could play later in preseason
As Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against the Browns approaches, Rodgers noted that he "wouldn't mind playing in the preseason," while suggesting that seeing action in the Jets' exhibition finale is a possibility, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With that in mind, it's safe to assume that Rodgers won't be taking any snaps Thursday, and it doesn't sound like he'll play on Aug. 12 against the Panthers either. In any case, Ethan Greenberg of the Jets' official site relays that Zach Wilson is in line to draw the start in the team's preseason opener against Cleveland.

Re-works contract
Rodgers has agreed to a re-worked deal with the Jets, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The report notes that the QB is essentially taking a significant pay cut to help out the Jets. Specifically, $33.715 million is set to be trimmed from the $108.715 million he was still owed on his prior deal. Per Cimini, Rodgers' new contract is a two-year, fully guaranteed $75 million pact, and given the terms of the agreement, the chances that the team's marquee trade acquisition sticks around for more than one year appear to have increased.

Healthy for camp
Rodgers (calf) participated in 11-on-11 drills Thursday, Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
A calf injury limited him in May, but Rodgers was more active during June practices and now is participating at the start of training camp. WR Mecole Hardman (groin) and OT Mekhi Becton (knee) also are healthy and participating, while RB Breece Hall (knee), WR Randall Cobb (ankle) and TE C.J. Uzomah (leg) start camp on the PUP list. Rodgers has a nice group of targets even with those three sidelined, throwing to Hardman, TE Tyler Conklin and WRs Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard and Corey Davis.
Jun 9, 2023
More involved to end OTAs
Rodgers (calf) participated in the red-zone and two-minute parts of Friday's 11-on-11 session, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers, who strained his calf at the beginning of OTAs, had been cleared for everything but 11-on-11 drills earlier in the week. He sat out the beginning of full-team drills Friday, allowing Zach Wilson to take the reins, but the veteran quarterback worked his way into the mix during the final parts of the session and should be fully healthy for training camp. Rodgers attended all of the Jets OTAs, but he's now heading back to California and is planning to invite the Jets' receivers to the West Coast for some offseason workouts, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Jun 6, 2023
Won't participate in 11-on-11
Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Rodgers (calf) won't participate in 11-on-11 drills Tuesday, but the veteran quarterback is cleared to do everything else, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jets continue to monitor a minor calf strain that Rodgers suffered at the beginning of OTAs, but there hasn't been any indication it'll impact the quarterback's availability for training camp. Don't be surprised if Rodgers takes it easy for the remainder of New York's OTAs.
May 31, 2023
Hopeful to practice fully Friday
Coach Robert Saleh said Rodgers (calf) will be limited at Wednesday's OTAs session and the hope is for him to practice fully Friday, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Saleh said Rodgers, who suffered a strained calf last week, is "fine" per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. The Jets don't appear worried about the status of the veteran quarterback, which reinforces the belief that he's simply dealing with a minor injury. Saleh said Rodgers will "for sure" be back in full next week, according to Cimini.
May 23, 2023
Diagnosed with strained calf
Rodgers suffered a strained calf in Tuesday's practice, CBS Sports' Josina Anderson reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' injury was initially reported as an ankle issue, but it's actually his calf. According to Anderson, it's "considered minor," and Rodgers should be back "fairly quick." This shouldn't effect Rodgers' availability for training camp, but we might see the Jets dial him back for the remainder of OTAs.
May 23, 2023
Suffers apparent ankle injury
Rodgers suffered an apparent ankle injury at Tuesday's OTAs session and didn't participate in team drills, ESPN's Rich Cimini reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers appeared to tweak his ankle in warmups prior to practice and was seen getting checked by the training staff. He ended up sitting out the rest of the day but did remain on the sideline, suggesting it might have been more precautionary than anything else. It'll be interesting to see if Rodgers is back out there later this week. Either way, this doesn't have the sound of a long-term issue.

Takes part in optional workout
Rodgers participated in an optional workout with the Jets on Thursday, one day after the deal sending him from Green Bay to New York became official.
ANALYSIS
Under the terms of the trade, the Jets received Rodgers, a first-round pick (No. 15 overall) and a fifth-round pick (No. 170) in this week's draft in exchange for selections No. 13 (Round 1), No. 42 (Round 2) and No. 207 (Round 6), plus a conditional second-rounder in 2024 that can become a first-rounder if the QB logs 65 percent of New York's offensive snaps this season. Rodgers, who re-worked his contract in order to help facilitate the deal, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, noted in his introductory press conference Wednesday that he's planning to attend most of his new team's voluntary workouts, and the veteran signal-caller quickly made his first on-field appearance with the Jets on Thursday. Though Rodgers hasn't specifically committed to playing beyond the 2023 campaign, indicating that he's focused on the present, comments he has made suggest that he's open to the idea. "They definitely gave up some picks for me to be here," the 39-year-old acknowledged, "so this isn't like one-and-done in my mind."

Officially traded to Jets for picks
The Jets acquired Rodgers from the Packers in exchange for a package of draft picks Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
ANALYSIS
Along with Rodgers, the Jets are acquiring the No. 15 overall pick in Thursday's NFL Draft and a 2023 fifth-rounder, at No. 170 overall. Headed to Green Bay are the 13th overall pick Thursday night, the No. 42 overall selection on Friday and a sixth-rounder at No. 207 Saturday. The Packers are also receiving a 2024 second-rounder that will become a first-round pick if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the offensive snaps this upcoming season. It's a pretty sizable haul for Green Bay, considering they had little leverage other than just keeping Rodgers around. The book now can be closed on this drama, with Rodgers quarterbacking a Jets offense that features Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard and Mecole Hardman as his top three wideouts while Corey Davis is still viewed as a likely release candidate. Rodgers' fantasy arrow has been trending downward with his inability to use his legs much anymore. Look for him to post mid-range QB2 numbers under old-turned-new OC Nathaniel Hackett.

Intends to play for Jets
While appearing on The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, Rodgers indicated that his intention is to play for the Jets, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Packers and Jets need to work out compensation to make a deal to that end happen. With that in mind, Pelissero previously relayed that the two teams are continuing to negotiate on trade terms, but at this stage it appears as though the star QB's stint with Green Bay is coming to a close.
Mar 9, 2023
Jets optimistic after meeting with QB
After meeting with Rodgers earlier this week, the Jets are reportedly becoming more confident in their chances of securing the quarterback, according to ESPN's Dianna Russini.
ANALYSIS
The report suggests that the Jets and Packers have had conversations with regard to potential trade compensation in the event that the 39-year-old decides that he wants to move on from the franchise that drafted him in 2005, but at this stage, Rodgers has yet to make any announcements regarding his intentions for the coming NFL season. With that in mind, it still remains possible that Rodgers could either elect to remain with Green Bay or retire.
Mar 7, 2023
Reportedly permitted to speak with Jets
The Packers reportedly have granted Rodgers permission to speak with the Jets, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
ANALYSIS
According to Dan Graziano of ESPN, some conversations regarding a potential trade of the 39-year-old signal caller are expected to take place Tuesday. That said, at this stage Rodgers has yet announce what he plans to do this coming season, with Graziano noting that if the QB elects to continue his playing career it's still possible he could decide that he'd prefer to remain with the Packers. Moreover, Rodgers' current contract with Green Bay would presumably need to be addressed before any possible deal sending him elsewhere could proceed.
Jan 9, 2023
Falls short of playoffs
Rodgers completed 17 of 27 pass attempts for 205 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 20-16 loss to Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers tried to keep the Packers' improbable run to playoffs alive, but he threw a late interception that ultimately sealed the win for the visiting Lions. The 39-year-old turned in his worst season as a pro, finishing with 3,695 passing yards, 26 touchdowns and a career-high 12 interceptions across 17 games. Rodgers just signed a three-year extension with Green Bay prior to this season, but the former MVP used some language after the crushing loss hinting at either retirement or a mutual parting of ways. What is certain, however, was a visible and statistical decline from the 17-year veteran this season, likely dropping Rodgers out of the top tier of fantasy quarterbacks if he decides to suit up in 2023.
Jan 5, 2023
Back to full practice
Rodgers (right thumb/knee) practiced fully Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
One day removed from sitting out Wednesday's walkthrough due to lingering right thumb and knee injuries, Rodgers returned to the practice field and handled every rep. He thus will be available for Sunday's matchup with a Lions defense that has given up an NFL-worst 7.96 yards per attempt and the second-most combined touchdowns (32) to opposing quarterbacks in 16 games this season.
Jan 5, 2023
Back at practice
Rodgers (right thumb/knee) returned to practice Thursday, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers is managing thumb and knee issues, with his absence from Wednesday's practice having been described as a maintenance day by Hodkiewicz. Thursday's injury report will clarify the QB's official participation level, but at this stage Rodgers appears to be in no danger of missing Sunday night's game against the Lions.
Jan 4, 2023
No activity Wednesday
Rodgers (right thumb/knee) didn't participate in Wednesday's walkthrough.
ANALYSIS
For the second week in a row, Rodgers is kicking off game prep with no activity due to knee and right thumb injuries. On the first occasion, he followed it up with a limited session last Thursday before capping Week 17 prep with all activity and heading into the weekend without a designation. He proceeded to complete 15 of 24 passes for 159 yards and one touchdown and a two-yard score on the ground this past Sunday versus the Vikings. Rodgers will aim to follow a similar practice regimen this week with an eye toward Sunday's all-important matchup with the Lions.
Jan 2, 2023
Takes back seat in win
Rodgers completed 15 of 24 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown and added a two-yard TD on his only carry in Sunday's 41-17 win over the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Green Bay grabbed a 14-3 lead in the first quarter on kickoff return and interception return touchdowns and never looked back, so Rodgers didn't have to do too much to lock up the victory. He still produced multiple TDs for the first time since Week 12, and the veteran QB will likely be more involved in Week 18 against the Lions, as a Packers win would send them into the postseason.
Dec 30, 2022
Cleared from injury report
Rodgers (thumb/knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
The knee injury is a recent addition from last Sunday's 26-20 win over Miami, while the thumb is something Rodgers has managed for a couple months, with reports at one point suggesting he has an avulsion fracture in the affected digit. Whatever the case, he hasn't thrown for 300 yards or run for a touchdown all season and has only one game with more than two passing touchdowns. Rodgers does get an excellent matchup in a must-win game for the Packers this week, though he might not have WR Christian Watson (questionable - hip) at his disposal against a Vikings defense that's given up the most points in the league to quarterbacks.
Dec 29, 2022
Limited in return to practice
Rodgers (thumb/knee) practiced on a limited basis Thursday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out Wednesday's session due to a knee injury that he picked up during a Week 16 win at Miami, Rodgers participated in individual drills Thursday but still operated with a cap on his reps. Even if the same comes to the pass Friday, there doesn't seem to be any worry about his availability for Sunday's NFC North showdown with the Vikings. Ultimately, Friday's practice report will reveal whether or not he heads into the weekend with a designation.
Dec 29, 2022
Back at practice
Rodgers (right thumb/knee) returned to practice Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It remains to be seen how the Packers list Rodgers' participation level, but his return to the field after missing Wednesday's session supports the QB's expectation that he'll be available for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
Dec 28, 2022
Sits out with thumb, knee injuries
Rodgers officially didn't practice Wednesday due to right thumb and knee injuries.
ANALYSIS
While the thumb issue likely is a residual one due to the fracture that Rodgers played through for a good portion of the campaign, the knee concern stems from a hit he took this past Sunday at Miami. He told Matt Schneidman of The Athletic that he isn't concerned about his potential to play Sunday against the Vikings, calling Wednesday's absence a veteran day off. Rodgers thus should get back on the practice field in some capacity both Thursday and Friday as the Packers prepare for a Week 17 NFC North matchup with all manner of playoff implications.
Dec 28, 2022
Dealing with sore knee
Rodgers was held out of practice Wednesday with a knee injury but is expected to play Sunday against the Vikings, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers took a hard hit to the knee during Sunday's 26-20 win over Miami, but he finished out the game and now has a decent chance to reach the playoffs as a wild card. With that in mind, he'll likely suit up Sunday if it's just a matter of pain tolerance.
Dec 25, 2022
Quiet day against Miami
Rodgers completed 24 of 38 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown with an interception in Sunday's 26-20 win over the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
He added 18 rushing yards on seven carries. Rodgers continues to post mediocre numbers -- he's gone six straight games without reaching 240 passing yards, and three straight with just one passing TD -- but a Packers defense that created four takeaways took the pressure off the quarterback to win the game himself. With Green Bay still alive in the playoff race, Rodgers will look to generate a little more offense in Week 17 against a vulnerable Vikings defense that managed to hold him to 195 yards and zero TDs in their first meeting this season back in Week 1.
Dec 20, 2022
Efficient in win over Rams
Rodgers completed 22 of 30 pass attempts for 229 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Monday's 24-12 win over the Rams.
ANALYSIS
The two-time MVP wasn't asked to do much against a Rams team that was decimated by injury, resulting in a modest stat line and a win for his club. Rodgers could have had a second touchdown in garbage time had rookie wideout Christian Watson not ran an incorrect route that would have gone for an easy four-yard score. The 39-year-old now has 3,093 passing yards with a 23:9 TD:INT ratio through 14 games in what can only be described as a down year by the superstar's lofty standards. Rodgers will look to keep Green Bay's slim playoff hopes alive against the Dolphins on Sunday.
Dec 4, 2022
Beats Bears once again
Rodgers completed 18 of 31 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-19 win over the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers played through ribs and thumb injuries to lead the Packers to a comeback victory at the home of their division rivals. While the quarterback's stat line wasn't anything special, Rodgers' fourth-down touchdown to rookie Christian Watson gave Green Bay a much-needed score heading into halftime. With his team now entering its bye week, Rodgers will get some welcomed extra time to rest his injuries ahead of Week 15's Monday night matchup versus the Rams.
Dec 2, 2022
Cleared from injury report
Rodgers (ribs/thumb) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against Chicago, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
He might be in pain but will get the start, just as he promised earlier this week. Rodgers managed limited practices Thursday and Friday ahead of what's essentially a must-win game against the Bears, hoping he can play through his pair of injuries and keep Green Bay in the playoff hunt. The 39-year-old (as of Friday) did say he'd try to have an "open mind" if the Packers eventually are eliminated and want to take a look at QB Jordan Love and other young players. For now, Rodgers will be relying on some of those young guys, namely rookie WR Christian Watson, who caught six TD passes (including one from Love) the past three weeks. There's also some hope for fellow rookie Romeo Doubs (ankle) to end a month-long absence, as he's been deemed questionable ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 2, 2022
Practicing again
Rodgers (ribs/thumb) is practicing Friday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers returned to practice Thursday as a limited participant and already has said he expects to play in Sunday's game against the Bears. He's reportedly been playing through an avulsion fracture in his right thumb for most of the season, but it was a rib injury that forced him out of a 40-33 loss to the Eagles in Week 12.
Dec 1, 2022
Set for limited practice Thursday
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Rodgers (ribs/thumb) will practice Thursday in a limited capacity, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers has appeared on Packers injury reports since Week 6 will what was revealed last week to be an avulsion fracture to his right thumb, but the quarterback is now managing a rib injury after exiting early in last Sunday's 40-33 loss to the Eagles. Fortunately for Rodgers, follow-up exams Monday revealed no major injury to his ribs, but the veteran quarterback's reps are still expected to be managed carefully this week. After sitting out the Packers' first session of the week Wednesday like he usually does, Rodgers' return to the field Thursday, even in a limited capacity, bodes well for his chances of playing this Sunday against the Bears. The Packers will likely wait and see what Rodgers is able to do at Friday's practice before deciding whether he'll carry an injury decision into the weekend.
Nov 30, 2022
Should practice later this week
Rodgers (ribs/thumb) isn't practicing Wednesday, but coach Matt LaFleur said he expects the quarterback to practice at some point before Sunday's game in Chicago, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Packers are known for being cautious with injured players, but that doesn't necessarily apply to Rodgers, who will turn 39 this week and needs to win at least four of his final five games (and probably all five) to have a shot at the playoffs. He's been playing through a thumb injury all year -- reportedly an avulsion fracture -- and was removed from Sunday's loss to the Eagles after hurting his ribs. Rodgers said Tuesday that he was encouraged by the results from a scan on his ribs Monday and thus expects to play this Sunday against the Bears. If not, Jordan Love will start for Green Bay.
Nov 29, 2022
Plans to play versus Chicago
Rodgers (ribs) said Tuesday on the Pat McAfee Show that he got positive results from the scans he underwent Monday and plans to play Sunday against Chicago, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers suffered a rib injury during Sunday's loss to Philadelphia, which forced Jordan Love into his first game action of the season. However, the veteran quarterback appears to have avoided a worst-case scenario and is expected to be back at the helm Sunday against Green Bay's divisional rival. Rodgers added that he may sit out the first practice of Week 13 prep, but that shouldn't be overly concerning, as he's missed Wednesday sessions for nearly two months straight while nursing an avulsion fracture of his right thumb.
Nov 28, 2022
Getting ribs examined Monday
Rodgers is scheduled to undergo another scan on his ribs Monday after exiting in the third quarter of Sunday's 40-33 loss to the Eagles, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers, who had already been playing through an avulsion fracture of his right thumb for the past seven weeks, appeared to suffer what was initially believed to an oblique injury in the second quarter, when he landed awkwardly on the field on a hit. He was then brought down hard on a sack in the third quarter, prompting him to leave the game for good. Rodgers clarified afterward that he was dealing with a rib injury and an initial fear of a punctured lung, though the former issue looks to be the greater concern for the signal-caller at this juncture. So long as his upcoming scan reveals no fractures to his ribs or other damage that might force an absence, Rodgers said that he expects to return to the lineup for next weekend's matchup with the Bears. Jordan Love finished out the loss to the Eagles and would be in line for the starting nod if Rodgers can't play Week 13.
Nov 28, 2022
No return timetable after loss
Coach Matt LaFleur said after Sunday's 40-33 loss to the Eagles that he doesn't have enough information to assess whether Rodgers will have to miss additional time due to the injury he sustained in the second half, Jeff Howe of The Athletic reports. It was originally deemed an oblique injury, but Rodgers clarified after the game that the injury was to his ribs, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
"If Aaron is healthy and ready to go, I anticipate him being out there," LaFleur said, proactively shutting down any idea of Jordan Love starting over a healthy Rodgers. After Rodgers exited, Love threw for 113 yards and a touchdown on just nine passing attempts, but Green Bay fell to 4-8. Despite their long playoff odds, the Packers seem intent on starting the soon-to-be 39-year-old Rodgers in Week 13 against Chicago if he's healthy enough to play.
Nov 27, 2022
Hurts oblique on SNF
Rodgers (oblique) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers went to the locker room in the second half, and it remains to be seen if he'll manage to return. Jordan Love's next in line for snaps at quarterback. Prior to getting hurt, Rodgers completed 11 of 16 passes for 140 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while rushing once for minus-1 yard.
Nov 27, 2022
Playing through avulsion fracture
Rodgers, who doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Eagles, has been playing through an avulsion fracture in his right thumb since injuring the finger in an Oct. 9 loss to the Giants, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Though he has yet to miss any games this season, Rodgers has been listed on Packers injury reports for seven straight weeks with the right thumb issue. The extent of the injury wasn't fully known until Rodgers quietly disclosed Wednesday that his thumb was fractured when Giants defender Oshane Ximenes hit the quarterback's hand on a Hail Mary attempt on the final play of the Week 5 contest. Rapoport's report confirms that Rodgers is dealing with an avulsion fracture, an injury that results in a torn ligament that creates joint instability in the thumb. Though Rodgers said he'll continue to play and isn't considering surgery to address the injury either during the season or after the season, the avulsion fracture may in part explain why the reigning NFL MVP's performance has taken a step back in 2022. In the six games since he suffered the injury, the Packers have gone 1-5 while Rodgers has completed 62 percent of his throws for 6.7 yards per attempt and an 11:4 TD:INT.
Nov 24, 2022
Full practice Thursday
Rodgers (thumb) practiced fully Thursday.
ANALYSIS
On Wednesday, Rodgers was asked about the nature of the thumb injury that he sustained back in Week 5. Per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Rodgers said he's been playing through a broken thumb over the last six contests, a span in which he's completed 62 percent of his passes, averaged 230.8 pass yards per game and thrown 11 touchdowns versus four interceptions. With his status again cleared up by week's end, Rodgers' current focus is Sunday's matchup with an Eagles defense that has allowed a NFL-best 5.8 yards per attempt and picked off a league-high 13 passes (tied with the Bills) from opposing quarterbacks this season.
Nov 23, 2022
Confirms broken thumb
Rodgers, who was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, acknowledged that he's been playing with a broken right thumb since sustaining the injury Week 5 against the Giants in London, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
With the loss to the Giants, the Packers dropped to 3-2 overall and have since dropped five of their subsequent six contests. During that six-game span, Rodgers has completed 62 percent of his passes, averaged 230.8 passing yards and tossed 11 touchdowns versus four interceptions. Prior to the injury, those numbers were 68 percent, 231.4 yards per game and an 8:3 TD:INT. Because he's appeared on every one of the team's practice reports in the meantime, the issue likely has had an affect on his performance, but he said Wednesday that he doesn't think surgery is in the cards, either during or after the campaign. As long as the team has even a realistic chance to make the playoffs, Rodgers likely will continue to have some practice limitations to ensure he's good to go on game days.
Nov 23, 2022
Begins week as limited
Rodgers (thumb) was limited in practice Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
As has been the norm for much of the campaign, the Packers are holding back Rodgers in the first practice of the week and potentially will do the same Thursday as he continues to tend to a balky right thumb. Even so, his availability for game days rarely has been in question. Green Bay's skill positions remain banged-up, as running back Aaron Jones (shin/glute) and wide receivers Allen Lazard (shoulder) and Randall Cobb (illness) were limited Wednesday, while rookie wideout Romeo Doubs has yet to practice since suffering a high-ankle sprain back in Week 9.
Nov 17, 2022
Pair of scoring tosses in loss
Rodgers completed 24 of 39 passes for 227 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Packers' 27-17 loss to the Titans on Thursday night. He also threw a two-point conversion pass.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers once again put up some serviceable numbers and had the benefit of getting Randall Cobb back from injured reserve, but the end result was still the Packers' third Lambeau Field loss of the season. The legendary signal-caller connected with Christian Watson from 14 and eight yards out on his two touchdown passes, and he hit Aaron Jones for a two-point conversion toss following the second score. Rodgers now has multiple touchdown passes in four of the last five games, sending him into a Week 12 road matchup against the Eagles a week from Sunday night with some momentum from a fantasy perspective despite his team's struggles.
Nov 17, 2022
Gets back Cobb for Week 11
Rodgers will welcome back Randall Cobb (ankle) for Thursday's game versus the Titans after the Packers activated the wide receiver from injured reserve.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers has been without Cobb for four games as the latter recovered from a high-ankle sprain, a stretch in which the quarterback averaged 228 passing yards and accrued eight touchdowns versus four interceptions on a 61.7 completion percentage. Green Bay won't have Romeo Doubs for a second consecutive contest due to his own high-ankle sprain, meaning Rodgers' top wide receivers for Week 11 are Allen Lazard, Christian Watson, Cobb and Sammy Watkins.

Clear for Week 11
Rodgers (thumb) doesn't have a designation for Thursday's game against the Titans, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' right thumb has been the cause for practice limitations for the last six weeks, but it has yet to impact his availability for games. He'll again be without rookie wide receiver Romeo Doubs, who is dealing with a high-ankle sprain. However, other skill-position players like running back Aaron Jones (shin) and wideouts Allen Lazard (shoulder) and Christian Watson (ankle) will be available, and old reliable Randall Cobb (ankle) may be activated from IR for Week 11 action. As a result, Rodgers could have as close to a full complement of offensive weapons available to him Thursday as he has all season.
Nov 15, 2022
Labeled limited participant Tuesday
Rodgers (thumb) was listed as a limited participant for Tuesday's walk-through practice.
ANALYSIS
The Packers are facing a quick turnaround for Week 11 with a Thursday night game against the Titans, but Rodgers is now more than a month removed from the right thumb injury he suffered on a Hail Mary attempt in an Oct. 9 loss to the Giants. In the five weeks since sustaining the injury, Rodgers has had his practice reps managed to some degree, but he's yet to take a designation into game day. Even if Rodgers' reps are capped again Wednesday, he still appears likely to avoid a questionable tag heading into Thursday's contest.
Nov 14, 2022
DNP on practice estimate
Rodgers (thumb) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated injury report.
ANALYSIS
For the sixth week in a row, Rodgers is enduring practice limitations, though the Packers didn't hold a sesson Monday, so he has two more chances to prove his health ahead of Thursday's game against the Titans. He's coming off one of his better statistical performances of the season in Week 10, when he completed 14 of 20 passes for 224 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions during Sunday's 31-28 overtime win versus the Cowboys. Assuming he gains clearance to play Week 11, Rodgers again is expected to be without rookie wide receiver Romeo Doubs, so Allen Lazard (shoulder), Christian Watson (ankle) and Sammy Watkins would serve as the top options at the position.
Nov 13, 2022
Throws for three scores in win
Rodgers (thumb) completed 14 of 20 pass attempts for 224 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 31-28 overtime win over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers had a unique stat line in a narrow victory, as he attempted just 20 pass attempts (lowest total in 2022), but managed to produce his first three-score game of the campaign. Fantasy managers have to be pleased with the end results when factoring in the veteran's struggles this year combined with a tough matchup on paper. Rodgers was finally able to get things cooking with top rookie wideout, Christian Watson, who hauled in all three of the quarterback's touchdown strikes Sunday. The 38-year-old will look to build off this solid showing against the Titans on Thursday Night Football in Week 11.
Nov 11, 2022
Good to go
Rodgers (thumb) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against Dallas.
ANALYSIS
The thumb injury may still bother Rodgers but didn't represent a threat to his availability this week. Other players cleared from the injury report Friday include RB Aaron Jones, WR Allen Lazard and WR Sammy Watkins, while Romeo Doubs (ankle) will miss the first of multiple games.
Nov 10, 2022
Back in limited capacity
Rodgers (thumb) was limited at Thursday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
After Wednesday's DNP, Rodgers at least returned to individual drills one day later as he continues to deal with a lingering right thumb injury. Assuming he trends as he normally has the previous four games, he again will direct the Packers offense Sunday against the Cowboys. As for Green Bay's receiving corps, rookie Romeo Doubs is slated to miss 4-to-6 weeks due to a high-ankle sprain, while security blanket Randall Cobb (ankle) isn't eligible to come off IR for another week. Consequently, Allen Lazard (shoulder) and Sammy Watkins (knee), who both were limited Thursday, project for large workloads this weekend, assuming they're active. Christian Watson, Samori Toure, Amari Rodgers and potentially practice squad member Juwann Winfree are the candidates to round out the group.
Nov 10, 2022
Back at practice Thursday
Rodgers (right thumb) took part in the open portion of Thursday's practice, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers kicked off Week 10 preparations with no activity as he got treatment on his balky right thumb, which has impacted his practice reps for five weeks running. During the four games playing with the injury, his performance waned a bit, as he completed 61 percent of his passes for 934 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions during that span. Not all of the inconsistency can be chalked up to Rodgers' health, with the O-line juggling different alignments and the skill positions banged up, particularly at wide receiver. Speaking of, rookie Romeo Doubs is slated to miss 4-to-6 weeks due to a high-ankle sprain, Sammy Watkins (knee) also didn't practice Wednesday, and Allen Lazard (shoulder) was limited during that session, so the receivers available for Rodgers this Sunday against the Cowboys are up in the air.
Nov 9, 2022
DNP on Wednesday
Rodgers (right thumb) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
For the fifth week in a row, Rodgers is opening game prep with either some or no activity. This time around, it was the latter, but that may be due to most of the Packers' skill-position group and top two offensive linemen having some sort of practice limitations Wednesday, too. Wide receivers Romeo Doubs (ankle) and Sammy Watkins (knee) also were DNPs, position mate Allen Lazard (shoulder) and running back Aaron Jones (ankle) were limited, and Christian Watson (concussion protocol) was a full participant. Rodgers will look to get back in the mix Thursday and/or Friday as the team prepares for Sunday's showdown with the Cowboys.
Nov 6, 2022
Throws three picks in loss
Rodgers completed 23 of 43 pass attempts for 291 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions in Sunday's 15-9 loss to the Lions. He added 40 rushing yards on four attempts.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers should be pointing the finger at himself after nearly doubling his interception total for the season in a loss to a divisional opponent. The former MVP set new single-game highs in passing yards (291) and rushing yards (40), so he actually turned in one of the better fantasy performances of a disappointing 2022 campaign. Rodgers' lack of receiving help has been a highlighted issue for Green Bay this season, and he may end up even more shorthanded after starting wideout Romeo Doubs (ankle) and star running back Aaron Jones (ankle) both left Sunday's contest without returning. Both players' availabilities should affect Rodgers' projections heading into an already difficult matchup against Micah Parsons and the Cowboys defense next Sunday.
Nov 4, 2022
Ready for Sunday
Rodgers (thumb) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Detroit, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
He'll continue playing through the same injury that's limited his practice participation for a few weeks now. The bigger question for Rodgers is whether wide receivers Allen Lazard (shoulder) and Christian Watson (concussion) will play, as both are listed as questionable and the Packers don't exactly have talent to spare at the position. Rodgers does get an A+ matchup, at least, playing in a dome against a Lions defense ranked dead last in both points and yards allowed.
Nov 3, 2022
Another limited showing
Rodgers (right thumb) practiced on a limited basis Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers maintained his activity level from Wednesday, giving him just one more chance to ditch his designation before the end of the week. He's been able to do so each of the previous three, though, meaning he's in line to keep up the streak and gain clearance prior to Sunday's contest at Detroit.
Nov 2, 2022
Kicks off week as limited
Rodgers (right thumb) was limited at Wednesday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
As has been the case for each of the previous three weeks of practice, Rodgers will kick off a fourth with a cap on his reps. He's been able to ditch a designation before week's end on each occasion, so he'll likely do so again this week and be cleared for Sunday's game in Detroit.
Oct 31, 2022
Goes for two scores in SNF loss
Rodgers (thumb) completed 19 of 30 pass attempts for 203 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers entered this tough matchup without several key receivers, and he lost defacto No. 3 wideout Christian Watson (concussion) in the first quarter. Excuses aside, it was another sub-par fantasy day from the decorated quarterback. Rodgers has yet to eclipse 300 yards in single game this season, and he no longer provides value as a runner at his advanced age (20 total rushing yards in 2022). The 38-year-old's arm still appears to have plenty of life left in it, but the current state of Green Bay's receiving corps limits his fantasy upside. That said, Rodgers could be in line for his best fantasy performance in Week 9 when he faces a Lions team that seems to get involved in high-scoring shootouts on a weekly basis.
Oct 28, 2022
Cleared from injury report
Rodgers (thumb) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Buffalo.
ANALYSIS
The Packers have limited Rodgers' practice reps the past two weeks while he's dealt with an injury to the thumb on his throwing hand, but there was never any doubt he'd play in Sunday's game. Top wideout Allen Lazard, on the other hand, has been ruled out with a shoulder injury, leaving Rodgers with Romeo Doubs and Sammy Watkins as his likely top receivers against one of the best defenses in the leagues.
Oct 27, 2022
Logs limited practice Thursday
Rodgers (thumb) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Prior to this week, Rodgers kicked off prep for the Packers' previous two games with no activity before returning to a full session one day later. This time around, he followed up Wednesday's DNP with a cap on his reps Thursday. Rodgers again was spotted throwing with a tape job around his right thumb, but he doesn't appear to be in danger of missing Sunday's contest at Buffalo, despite the change in practice regimen. Friday's injury report likely will reveal that he won't have a game-day designation heading into the weekend.
Oct 27, 2022
Back at practice Thursday
Rodgers (thumb) returned to practice Thursday, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
As he's done each of the last three weeks, Rodgers followed up a DNP at the first practice with an appearance one day later. He again had a tape job on his balky right thumb as he threw passes during individual drills. Rodgers' activity level will be confirmed later Thursday on the second injury report of Week 8 prep.
Oct 26, 2022
Begins Week 8 prep with DNP
Rodgers (thumb) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
As has been the norm for three weeks running, Rodgers is kicking off prep for an upcoming game with no activity as he tends to an injured right thumb, which likely will make way for a full session Thursday. While Rodgers has played through the pain the last two games, the results on the field have remained uneven, with 5.8 yards per attempt and just 440 yards passing as the Packers have dropped three straight contests. Assuming he gains clearance to play Week 8, as he has of late, Rodgers will have a tough task on his hands Sunday in Buffalo.
Oct 23, 2022
More frustration in Week 7 loss
Rodgers completed 23 of 35 passes for 194 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Packers' 23-21 loss to the Commanders on Sunday. He also committed a fumble recovered by Green Bay.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' pedestrian stat line, which included a figure of 5.5 yards per attempt, underscores the difficulty he once again encountered in achieving any type of offensive cohesion. The future Hall of Famer was without trusted target Randall Cobb (IR-ankle), although he did get Sammy Watkins (hamstring) back into the fold. Rodgers was able to nearly pull off a comeback, hitting Aaron Jones down the left sideline on a beautifully thrown ball with 3:26 remaining after also having connected with his running back in the first quarter from four yards out. However, Rodgers didn't get the ball back until Green Bay had exhausted its timeouts and only 23 seconds remained, yet the Packers nearly made a wild multi-lateral play work with no time left. With his team now 3-4, Rodgers will undoubtedly feel plenty of pressure to lift them out of their malaise in what seems like a near-insurmountable challenge in the form of a Week 8 Sunday night road matchup against a Bills team coming off its bye week.
Oct 20, 2022
Back to full practice
Rodgers (thumb) practiced in full Thursday.
ANALYSIS
As he did last week, Rodgers sat out Wednesday's session before returning to the field one day later with a tape job on his balky right thumb, going down as a full participant. He's thus clear to take on a Commanders defense Sunday that has given up 12 touchdowns versus two interceptions to opposing signal-callers in six contests this season.
Oct 20, 2022
Returns to practice Thursday
Rodgers (thumb) returned to practice Thursday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers appears to be following the same practice routine as last week, when he got back to all activity Thursday after an absence Wednesday as he tends to a right thumb issue sustained Week 5 against the Giants in London. He was spotted throwing with a tape job on the thumb, and Thursday's injury report ultimately will relay how much work he was able to handle.
Oct 19, 2022
Doesn't practice Wednesday
Rodgers (right thumb) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
As Rodgers was last Wednesday before he returned to full practices to end Week 6 prep. He's tending to a right thumb injury that he suffered on the Packers' last offensive play of a Week 5 loss to the Giants in London, but it hasn't impacted his ability to play on game day yet. Still, Rodgers didn't fare too well in this past Sunday's defeat to the Jets, completing 26 of 41 passes for 246 yards and one touchdown while taking four sacks and losing one of his two fumbles.
Oct 16, 2022
Frustrating home defeat
Rodgers completed 26 of 41 passes for 246 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Jets. He also was sacked four times and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' lone turnover came as a result of a fumbled handoff exchange with tailback AJ Dillon. While the signal caller doesn't carry sole blame for that play, it was nonetheless a frustrating outing for Rodgers, who lost trusted wideout Randall Cobb (ankle) during the game as well. With a depleted supporting cast and struggles in protection, Green Bay's offense again underwhelmed, only scoring via Rodgers' 25-yard pass to Allen Lazard during the third quarter. Having endured consecutive losses, Rodgers at least appears to have a favorable matchup in Week 7 versus the Commanders, offering hope for a needed breakthrough.
Oct 13, 2022
Returns to all activity Thursday
Rodgers (right thumb) was a full practice participant Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Thus confirming that Rodgers' absence from Wednesday's session was precautionary. He was throwing with a contraption or tape job on his right thumb Thursday, which could be a reality for him on game day. Rodgers thus is in line to face the Jets' 10th-ranked pass defense (205.8 yards per game) Sunday.
Oct 13, 2022
Back at practice Thursday
Rodgers (thumb) took part in individual drills at Thursday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out Wednesday due to a right thumb injury, he was spotted throwing with a contraption or tape job around the base of the thumb one day later. It remains to be seen if Rodgers will take part in team drills, but the media won't be present for that part of the session. In any case, Rodgers' activity level will become known upon the release of Thursday's practice report.
Oct 12, 2022
Not practicing, should be fine
Rodgers will miss Wednesday's practice with a thumb injury, but coach Matt LaFleur isn't worried about the quarterback's availability for this Sunday against the Jets, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers hurt his thumb while trying to throw a hail mary on the final snap of Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Giants. He'll face the other New York team this Sunday, and it'll be a true home game after the Week 5 excursion to London.
Oct 9, 2022
Two touchdowns in loss
Rodgers completed 25 of 39 passes for 222 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers led the Packers' offense effectively for the majority of the game, highlighted by touchdown passes of four and two yards to Allen Lazard and Marcedes Lewis, respectively. He also found particular rapport with Randall Cobb, whom Rodgers targeted on 13 of his 39 attempts. Despite the solid game, Rodgers did struggle with efficiency, averaging only 5.7 yards per attempt while also having two of his final pass attempts batted down near the goal line as the Packers attempted to tie the game late in the fourth quarter. Despite some concerns, Rodgers has thrown for multiple touchdowns in four of five games this season.
Oct 2, 2022
Throws 500th career touchdown
Rodgers completed 21 of 35 passes for 251 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 27-24 overtime win over the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers endured a rough first half, completing merely four passes while also throwing an interception that was returned for a touchdown. The back-to-back MVP rebounded after halftime, though, finding trusted targets Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb on a few crucial plays and connecting with tight end Robert Tonyan and rookie Romeo Doubs for a pair of touchdowns. In doing so, Rodgers became just the fifth player in league history with 500 passing touchdowns. With the relief of a narrow home victory and another lofty accomplishment to his name, Rodgers will now turn his attention toward his first game in London, as the Packers travel across the pond to play the Giants in Week 5.
Sep 25, 2022
Throws two touchdowns
Rodgers completed 27 of 35 passes for 255 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 14-12 win over the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers started the game hot, throwing a pair of touchdowns to Romeo Doubs and Allen Lazard by the midway point of the second quarter. However, a subsequent fumble after a reception by Aaron Jones halted Green Bay's momentum prior to halftime, and Rodgers later threw an interception during the second half. Despite the Packers struggling to move the ball after halftime, Rodgers still managed his highest passing yardage of the early campaign, building some chemistry with the rookie Doubs along the way. The back-to-back league MVP will now turn his attention toward Week 4's matchup versus the Patriots.
Sep 18, 2022
Efficient against Bears
Rodgers completed 19 of 25 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 27-10 win over the Bears. He added 10 yards on five rushing attempts and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was briefly credited with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Jones in the second quarter, but the play was later deemed a run. The veteran quarterback's first touchdown pass of the season finally came later in the second quarter on an eight-yard touch pass to Jones, and Rodgers added a five-yard touchdown to Allen Lazard to give Green Bay a 24-7 halftime lead. Green Bay went run-heavy on offense while nursing a big lead for the entire second half, so Rodgers finished the night with another modest stat line. Rodgers will bring a 2:1 TD:INT into a high-profile Week 3 showdown with Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.
Sep 11, 2022
Another rough opener
Rodgers completed 22 of 34 passes for 195 yards and an interception in Sunday's 23-7 loss to the Vikings. He also was sacked four times and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers saw rookie Christian Watson drop a would-be touchdown on his first play, setting the stage for another disappointing season opener. The signal-caller was intercepted just before halftime, then began the second half by fumbling while being crunched on a sack. With superstar wideout Davante Adams gone, it was tailback AJ Dillon who led the Packers in receiving Sunday, leaving plenty for Rodgers and company to work on ahead of Week 2's matchup versus the Bears.
Aug 23, 2022
Next game action slated for Week 1
With coach Matt LaFleur noting Tuesday that the Packers' key starters won't play in Thursday's preseason finale against Kansas City, Rodgers' next game action is slated to come Week 1 against the Vikings, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Packers have little to gain by exposing Rodgers to preseason contact, so look for the veteran QB's focus to turn to building chemistry with a Green Bay wideout corps that no longer includes Davante Adams. As things stand, Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, Randall Cobb, Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs profile as Rodgers' top options at the position.
Aug 19, 2022
Preseason action possible?
Coach Matt LaFleur was noncommittal about Rodgers playing in the Packers' preseason finale Thursday at Kansas City, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports. "We'll discuss that. I wanted to get through this game, see where we're at," LaFleur said.
ANALYSIS
Through the team's first two exhibitions, almost all of the regular skill-position players have donned street clothes rather than suit up. As for Rodgers himself, he hasn't seen action in the preseason since August 2018, when Mike McCarthy was coaching in Green Bay. Thus, it would somewhat surprise if Rodgers gets some snaps before Week 1 with LaFleur leading the way, but the state of the receiving corps is in flux following the offseason trade of Davante Adams. If LaFleur sees the benefit of Rodgers working in a game with new wideouts like Sammy Watkins, Christian Watson (knee) and Romeo Doubs, the quarterback may get a series or two Thursday.
Aug 19, 2022
Not in line to play Friday
Rodgers isn't slated to play in Friday's preseason game versus the Saints, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
With Rodgers sidelined for a second consecutive exhibition, third-year quarterback Jordan Love again will get the nod under center. Rodgers does have one more opportunity to make an appearance before Week 1 next Thursday in Kansas City, but it's been a number of years since the four-time MVP took the field during the preseason.
Aug 8, 2022
Sitting out preseason opener
Coach Matt LaFleur said Monday that Rodgers won't play during Friday's preseason contest against San Francisco, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers didn't play a single snap last preseason, so it's no surprise to see Jordan Love be handed the reins for Friday's matchup. However, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, LaFleur said the team is still considering allowing Rodgers to see the field during the Packers' final preseason matchup, August 25 at Kansas City. The veteran quarterback could benefit from some additional reps with his revamped receiving corps, which includes newcomers like Sammy Watkins, Romeo Doubs and Christian Watkins (knee), in addition to incumbents Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb.
Jun 7, 2022
Will make offseason debut Tuesday
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Rodgers will participate in Tuesday's mandatory minicamp after skipping the team's voluntary OTAs, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
While Rodgers skipped OTAs, LaFleur noted that he still was in communication with the reigning MVP about the offseason game plan during the quarterback's time away from the team. Regardless, Rodgers' absence still sparked speculation due to his grievances with Green Bay's front office during the prior two offseasons. However, after signing a four-year extension in March, the veteran quarterback appears to be content with the current position of the Packers, even after they traded Davante Adams this offseason.
May 24, 2022
Not with team for OTAs
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Tuesday that Rodgers is currently not at voluntary OTAs, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
LaFleur added that he doesn't know if the quarterback will join the team next week or not and stated, "it'll be Rodgers' choice." While the reigning MVP isn't with the team, his current situation seems to be less volatile than the last two offseasons after signing a four-year extension in March. LaFleur said he talked to Rodgers on Monday about tweaks to the offense and said the quarterback was in "good spirits," so it appears the quarterback is still heavily involved in the gameplan even while he's away from the team.
Mar 17, 2022
Down top target after Adams trade
Rodgers lost top target Davante Adams on Thursday when the Packers agreed to trade the wide receiver to the Raiders, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
After one domino fell in Green Bay last week when Rodgers agreed to return for an 18th season, the team proceeded to place the franchise tag on Adams. The wide receiver informed the Packers that he wouldn't play under the tag, and even as Rodgers negotiated and signed a four-year extension he was made aware that his employers were exploring trades for Adams, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. With Adams out the door, the team now is in the market for additions to the receiving corps with just Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb the known entities at the position.
Mar 15, 2022
Finalizes extension
Rodgers signed a four-year extension with the Packers on Tuesday, though the deal includes two "dummy" years, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
It took one week to finalize a contract after Rodgers confirmed last Tuesday he'd return to the Packers for 2022. His new deal includes $150.6 million guaranteed, and while it may be more akin to a two-year extension for practical purposes, this at least suggests Rodgers plans to stay in Green Bay through 2023 or 2024. The team can now focus on star wideout Davante Adams, who reportedly informed the Packers that he won't play out the 2022 season under a franchise tag (the two sides have until July 15 to negotiate a multi-year contract).
Mar 8, 2022
Deal in the works
The Packers and Rodgers are working out a new deal that will keep him with the team in 2022, while lowering the QB's salary cap hit for the coming season in the process, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky.
ANALYSIS
Though Rodgers confirmed via Twitter on Tuesday that he will indeed play for Green Bay in 2022, he indicated that a contract to cement that has yet to be finalized and suggested that previous reports outlining the terms of the looming agreement were not accurate. In any case, the star signal-caller will be back for another season with the team that drafted him in 2004 and is in line to continue to throw to his favorite target, now that the Packers have used their franchise tag on top wideout Davante Adams.
Mar 8, 2022
Confirms return to Green Bay
Rodgers confirmed Tuesday via his personal Twitter page that he's returning to the Packers for the 2022 season.
ANALYSIS
Having said that, Rodgers refuted a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network that he agreed to a four-year, $200 million extension. In any case, Rodgers is back in the saddle with the Packers and is expected to be joined by his favorite target Davante Adams, who is slated to receive the franchise tag from the team by Tuesday's 4:00 p.m. ET deadline. Coming off back-to-back MVP campaigns, Rodgers is set up to remain productive as he enters his age-39 season.
Mar 8, 2022
Decides to stay in Green Bay
Rodgers has decided to return for the Packers in the 2022 season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers and Green Bay have agreed to terms on an enormous four-year, $200 million contract to make him the highest-paid player in NFL history, per Rapoport. The deal keeps the back-to-back league MVP in Green Bay with $153 million guaranteed, and clarifies the team's quarterback position for the foreseeable future. Rodgers reportedly seriously considered retirement, but now that he's informed the team of a decision to stick around, the Packers' attention can focus elsewhere on the roster. With Rodgers running it back, top wideout Davante Adams now looks all but fated to receive the franchise tag if a long-term deal can't be reached. On the other hand, 2020 first-round pick Jordan Love's future on the roster could be less certain.
Mar 7, 2022
Long-term deal reportedly offered
The Packers have reportedly offered Rodgers a long-term deal that would alter the QB market, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports.
ANALYSIS
Aside from solidifying the team's signal-caller situation, such a contract structure -- possibly in the three- or four-year range -- could bolster the Packers' salary-cap situation, a context that would help the franchise retain a solid supporting cast around Rodgers. The report suggests that at this stage, the QB continues to weigh his options, with his decision expected to arrive soon. Per Fowler, if things move in a direction which Rodgers indicates that wants out of Green Bay, the Broncos -- who hired former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett as their new head coach this offseason -- are viewed as a possible contender to make a play to add the 38-year-old, who is coming off an MVP season in 2021.
Mar 5, 2022
Nothing new on decision
The Packers have not engaged with other teams regarding potential trades for Rodgers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
In what appears to be the latest chapter of the Rodgers saga, conflicting reports surfaced late Friday evening and into Saturday morning that the four-time MVP was truly torn on whether or not he'd want to return to the Packers, and that teams were lining up to acquire the superstar QB. That evidently is not the case according to Schefter and the report was also backed up by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. There's still optimism from Green Bay's front office Rodgers will eventually make his decision before the new league year begins March 16, but it seems fair to assume should the 39-year-old opt to cut ties with the only franchise he's ever been apart of, numerous teams will be eager to bid for his services.
Mar 1, 2022
Decision expected by March 16th
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said Tuesday that there are "no new updates" regarding Rodgers' situation, but he hopes to have an update by March 16, which is start of the new league year, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported earlier Tuesday that the two sides are in negoaitaitons for what is expected to be a short-term contract that would make Rodgers the highest-paid player in the NFL. However, there is still some speculation as to whether or not the back-to-back MVP winner will even play football next season. Either way, it sounds like the Packers are setting a firm deadline, with the hope that it'll jumpstart their offseason plans.
Mar 1, 2022
Reportedly in contract talks
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Rodgers and the Packers are reportedly in negotiations for what is expected to be a short-term contract if the star quarterback decides to remain with the team.
ANALYSIS
Per Rapoport, if such a deal transpires, it would make the QB the highest-paid player in the NFL. While the report is encouraging from Green Bay's perspective, any potential agreement hinges on Rodgers committing to remain with the franchise that drafted back him in 2004. Until or unless that occurs, it remains possible that the 38-year-old could consider retirement or request a trade, but at this stage Rapoport suggests that things appear to be heading in a good direction with regard to the chances of an agreement occurring between the two sides.
Feb 13, 2022
Relationship with team in good place
Rodgers' "relationship [with the Packers] is in as good a spot as it has been in quite a long time," creating optimism from both sides that he'll remain in Green Bay for the 2022 season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
After Rodgers chose not to report to training camp on time last offseason due to his acrimonious relationship with the Green Bay front office, speculation abounded that the Packers would look to trade the longtime franchise quarterback. Though the Packers were able to temporarily cool tensions last July by reworking his contract and agreeing to revisit possible trade discussions during the upcoming offseason, Rodgers no longer seems as resolute about moving on from the organization. While Green Bay's season ended with a disappointing loss to San Francisco in the divisional round, Rodgers guided the team to an NFC-best 13-4 record and took home his fourth MVP award. When he accepted the award Thursday, Rodgers notably thanked Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst and team president Mark Murphy, then told NFL Network after the ceremony that he's had "good conversations with Green Bay" about working out a new deal. As a result of having his deal reworked last summer, the 2022 portion of Rodgers' contract was v

Earns another MVP award
Rodgers was named Most Valuable Player for the 2021 season Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was named MVP for the second consecutive season and for the fourth time in his career. Though he was outperformed in metrics such as yards and touchdowns, Rodgers was rewarded for his accuracy and ability to protect the ball. He threw only four interceptions -- the lowest mark of any regular starter this season -- and also posted a stellar 68.9 completion percentage. Rodgers also led the Packers to a successful regular season, highlighted by a 13-4 record and the number one seed in the NFC. Despite all of that success, it's not yet clear whether he will be under center in Green Bay to begin the 2022 campaign.

Could decide on future soon
Rodgers suggested Tuesday that he'll make a decision on his NFL future well before the start of the new league year in mid-March, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers said it would be "disrespectful to the organization" if he waited until the start of free agency to make a decision. He still has one year remaining on his contract, and while there was some thought he'd try to force a trade this offseason, Rodgers could also retire or stick around with the Packers. It'll be an interesting few months in Green Bay, to say the least, with top receiver Davante Adams likely getting the franchise tag as his contract expires. Of course, if Rodgers wants out of Green Bay, the team might try to tag-and-trade Adams rather than using the tag as a bridge to a contract extension.

Solid performance not enough
Rodgers completed 20 of 29 passes for 225 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions during the Packers' 13-10 loss to the 49ers in their NFC divisional-round matchup Saturday night. He also committed a fumble that was recovered by Green Bay.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' numbers were certainly solid enough, albeit a bit underwhelming from a fantasy perspective due to the complete absence of touchdowns. The future Hall of Famer also couldn't follow up a very efficient first quarter with enough production the rest of the way, not leading another scoring drive until a 14-play, 57-yard march early in the fourth quarter that culminated in a Mason Crosby 33-yard field goal. Those points would prove to be the final ones of the night for Green Bay, with the Packers going backwards on their final three plays before punting the ball over to the 49ers and never getting it back. The heartbreaking and abrupt finish to a season in which he and his teammates squandered the NFC's No. 1 seed could be an intriguing factor in Rodgers' plans for 2022, considering he'd seemingly softened his offseason stance on wanting to play elsewhere for what would be the potential final year of his contract as this past regular season unfolded.

Logs full practice Tuesday
Rodgers (toe) was a full practice participant Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
In his previous media availability last Wednesday, Rodgers relayed that his left pinkie toe wouldn't be a problem for him during the playoffs. With the Packers set to open their postseason run Saturday versus the 49ers, he opened the week of prep sans limitations on the practice field, which is a change from the norm established since he sustained a toe fracture during his stay on the reserve/COVID-19 list on either side of a Week 9 contest at Kansas City. Stretching back to Week 11, Rodgers put together 1,929 yards, 20 touchdowns and no interceptions in six-and-a-half games of action before taking a seat for the second half of the team's Week 18 defeat in Detroit.
Jan 12, 2022
Toe issue almost behind him
Rodgers said Wednesday that his fractured left pinky toe won't be an issue in the postseason, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers has been contending with the injury since his spell on the reserve/COVID-19 list that forced him to sit out a Week 9 matchup with the Chiefs. While he didn't record a TD in his return Week 10 against the Seahawks, he's been on an absolute tear in the meantime, tossing 20 versus no interceptions while racking up 1,929 yards on 72 percent passing over the last seven games. Rodgers relayed he hasn't taken a pain-killing injection in his toe since getting stepped on just before halftime of a win on Christmas Day against the Browns, a span of two contests. He also practiced Wednesday, after which he noted, "(I'm) close to 100 percent but think I should be 100 percent by next week." The Packers don't open the playoffs until a divisional-round matchup to be determined on either Jan. 22 or 23.
Jan 9, 2022
Brief showing
Rodgers completed 14 of 18 pass attempts for 138 yards and two touchdowns against Detroit on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers took a surprising amount of pressure in this brief appearance, getting sacked three times, but this was otherwise little more than a walkthrough for the MVP candidate before letting Jordan Love take over the rest of the meaningless game. He finishes the year with 366 completions on 531 pass attempts, producing 4,115 yards, 38 touchdowns and four interceptions in 16 games. Guessing the future with Rodgers has been a rocky task in recent years, but conventionally a team doesn't willingly part with an MVP-winning quarterback, even if he's less than universally beloved. The previously assumed alternative, the former first-round pick Love, was less than convincing in this game, completing 10 of 17 pass attempts for 134 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. The Packers will prepare for the playoffs for the time being, and they'll await their opponent following a first-round bye as the top seed in the NFC.
Jan 7, 2022
Ready for start
Rodgers (toe) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Lions, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers has played some of the best football of his career while dealing with the toe injury, and he wants to continue in Week 18 even with the Packers locked in for the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Coach Matt LaFleur confirmed Friday that Rodgers will start Sunday, though LaFleur wasn't much help in terms of expectations for playing time, merely saying it would be based on how the game goes. Anything from a couple drives to a full game is thus in play, making Rodgers a high-risk, high-reward fantasy play for Week 18.
Jan 7, 2022
Confirmed for Week 18 start
Coach Matt LaFleur confirmed Rodgers will start Sunday's game against the Lions, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Playing a full game is another matter, with the Packers locked in for the NFC's No. 1 seed. LaFleur didn't provide much in terms of hints, simply saying he'll see how the game goes before making any decisions on pulling starters. That leaves Rodgers as a risky Week 18 fantasy option, albeit with huge upside in a dome game against a bad defense.
Jan 6, 2022
Gets in limited practice
Rodgers (toe) was a limited participant at Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Since coming down with a broken toe in mid-November, Rodgers often hasn't made his presence felt on the practice field before the final session of a given week, if he's been able to take part at all. As a result, he seems to be healthier than he's been in some time and poised to get rid of his designation when the Packers post Friday's injury report, as he normally does. Coach Matt LaFleur hasn't revealed how much Rodgers may play Sunday at Detroit, suggesting Wednesday that he'll feel out the situation and make the decision to remove starters during the game, according to Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
Jan 6, 2022
Practicing Thursday
Rodgers (toe) took part in Thursday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It's rare for Rodgers to get practice reps on Fridays since he was diagnosed with a broken toe in early November. Now with an appearance on the field on a Thursday, he appears to be the healthiest he's been in some time and will log at least a limited session. The bigger question surrounding Rodgers for a Week 18 visit to Detroit is how much he'll play Sunday, which coach Matt LaFleur indicated Wednesday would be based off "feel," per Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
Jan 5, 2022
No practice Wednesday
Rodgers (toe) didn't take part in practice Wednesday, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers made a rare appearance at practice last Friday, mixing in as a limited participant. It was his first notable on-field work since Week 14, but his toe fracture hasn't stopped him from producing on game days, as he's accounted for 1,791 yards, 18 touchdowns and no interceptions on 71.6 percent passing over the last six contests. With the No. 1 seed on the NFC side of the playoffs locked up, the Packers may opt to hold Rodgers out or limit his snap count Sunday at Detroit. Speaking to the media Wednesday, coach Matt LaFleur said "if and when" he removes the starters from the game will be based off "feel," according to Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. As a result, it appears Rodgers will make a Week 18 cameo, at the very least.
Jan 3, 2022
Strong showing in blowout win
Rodgers (toe) completed 29 of 38 pass attempts for 288 yards and two touchdowns while rushing two times for eight more yards in Sunday's 37-10 rout of the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Minnesota's defense was able to contain Rodgers for the first couple drives of the contest, but once the quarterback got rolling, it turned into a landslide victory. Things got so out of hand that backup Jordan Love got to run the offense for the final half of the fourth quarter. Rodgers improved his season totals to 3,977 yards with a 69 percent completion rate. The 38-year-old will fall short of his gaudy MVP totals from a year ago, but a sparkling 35:4 TD:INT ratio is the best in the NFL, firmly placing the superstar in the MVP discussion. The Packers have nothing to play for in Week 18 when the team takes on the lowly Lions, so head coach Matt LaFleur may opt to rest his quarterback in order to let his aching toe heal even more before the playoffs.
Dec 31, 2021
Cleared from injury report
Rodgers (toe) returned to practice Friday as a limited participant and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com notes that Rodgers' practice participation is a sign of progress, following back-to-back weeks with nothing but absences. The veteran QB seems to have avoided further aggravations of his toe injury since Week 14, and he's the frontrunner for NFL MVP after tossing 16 touchdowns (and zero interceptions) over the past five games. Four of those were Green Bay wins, with the exception being Week 11 at Minnesota when Rodgers' 385 passing yards and four touchdowns weren't quite enough to get the job done. A similar stat line Sunday night should do the trick, however, with the Packers playing at home against backup QB Sean Mannion.
Dec 30, 2021
Another missed practice
Rodgers (toe) didn't practice Thursday, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers has gutted out a broken toe over the last five games and even aggravated the injury this past Saturday against the Browns. Still, he's been on point during that span, with three 300-yard efforts and 16 touchdowns versus no interceptions. If past weeks are any indication, Rodgers won't have a game-day designation once the Packers post their final Week 17 practice report Friday.
Dec 29, 2021
No practice Wednesday
Rodgers (toe) isn't practicing Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
This comes as no surprise after Rodgers' broken toe was stepped on and kicked during this past Saturday's win against the Browns. He received treatment at halftime of that contest and played all 58 offensive snaps on his way to 202 yards and three touchdowns on 71 percent passing. As he's done in advance of each of the past five games, Rodgers is focusing on rest and rehab to keep him as fresh as possible during the stretch run of the campaign. It remains to be seen if he'll mix into practice this week, but having no on-field reps hasn't impacted his play much, as he's completed 70.6 percent of his throws, averaged a shade over 300 yards per game and tossed 16 TDs versus no interceptions during the aforementioned five-game stretch.
Dec 25, 2021
Three TDs in Christmas win
Rodgers completed 24 of 34 passes for 202 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Packers' 24-22 win over the Browns on Saturday. He also lost a yard on one rush.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers connected with Allen Lazard and Davante Adams for his trio of scoring tosses in the first half to help Green Bay jump out to a 21-12 halftime lead. The future Hall of Famer wasn't anywhere near as successful moving the ball in the second half, but he stayed away from turnovers altogether and did helm an 11-play, 76-yard march early in the third quarter to set up a Mason Crosby 32-yard field goal that would prove to be the Packers' final points of the afternoon. The Browns largely controlled the ball over the final 30 minutes, but Rodgers still delivered for fantasy managers with his fourth straight multi-touchdown effort. The ageless signal-caller hasn't thrown an interception since Week 10, either, giving him plenty of momentum heading into a Week 17 home divisional matchup against the Vikings.
Dec 23, 2021
Ready for Saturday
Rodgers (toe) doesn't have a designation for Saturday's game against the Browns, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
This comes as no surprise as Rodgers hasn't practiced on his fractured toe for weeks but still been able to suit up on game days. He nonetheless has been on point during the Packers' current three-game winning streak, averaging 305.3 yards per game and tossing nine touchdowns versus no interceptions during that span.
Dec 22, 2021
Doesn't practice Wednesday
Rodgers (toe) didn't practice Wednesday, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
It's no surprise Rodgers didn't take part in any drills, as it's been his weekly routine since it was revealed he was tending to a toe fracture. The consistent rest hasn't affected his play in the slightest, with 916 yards, nine touchdowns and no interceptions on 70.8 percent passing during Green Bay's current three-game winning streak. Rodgers will look to sidestep a designation entirely upon the release of the Packers' final Week 16 injury report Thursday.
Dec 21, 2021
Gets 'DNP' tag again
Rodgers (toe) was estimated as a non-participant on Tuesday's injury report.
ANALYSIS
This has become the norm for Rodgers as he continues to deal with a fractured toe. It hasn't impacted his play on the field, though, as he's completed 70.5 percent of his passes for 1,301 yards, 13 touchdowns and no interceptions over the last four games. Assuming he follows precedent from previous weeks, Rodgers will be cleared in advance of Saturday's contest against the Browns.
Dec 19, 2021
Ties Packers record
Rodgers completed 23 of 31 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 31-30 win over the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' performance saw him tie Brett Favre for the most career touchdown passes (422) in Packers history. His first came on a three-yarder to favorite target Davante Adams, then Rodgers found Aaron Jones from nine yards and Marquez Valdes-Scantling from 11 on his two scores in the second half. The signal-caller could've had another to seal the game in the fourth, but he uncharacteristically overthrew Allen Lazard, forcing Green Bay to settle for a field goal on the next play. Despite the Packers subsequently having to eke out a narrow victory, overall Rodgers again fueled an important win and will now turn his attention toward Week 16's Christmas day matchup versus the Browns.
Dec 17, 2021
Ready to face Ravens
Rodgers (toe) has no injury designation for Sunday's game in Baltimore, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers sat out all three practices this week, just as he did Week 12 leading up to a win over the Rams. He then managed one limited practice last week before a victory over the Bears, but Rodgers scaled back this week after aggravating his toe in that game. So far, the toe fracture hasn't hurt his performance, with the veteran QB putting up three straight games of 300-plus yards and multiple touchdown passes.
Dec 16, 2021
Skipping practice again
Rodgers (toe) won't participate in Thursday's practice, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, Rodgers acknowledged his fractured pinkie toe "feels worse" coming out of Sunday's 45-30 win over the Bears than it did prior to the Packers' Week 13 bye, but he views surgery as a "last resort" and intends to continue playing through the injury. Though he'll be off the field for the second straight day, Rodgers has shown in recent weeks that he doesn't need much practice time, if any, to perform at a high level on game days. Jordan Love will direct the first-team offense once again Thursday, but expect Rodgers to be ready to go for this weekend's game in Baltimore, with the only question at this point being whether he'll approach that contest with an injury designation.
Dec 15, 2021
Misses practice again
Rodgers (toe) isn't practicing Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers aggravated his fractured toe during Sunday's 45-30 win over the Bears, but he nonetheless put up a big stat line for the third straight week, and ultimately opted against a minor surgery that might've threatened his availability for the upcoming game in Baltimore this Sunday. Rodgers said he won't practice much the rest of the season but doesn't expect to miss any games.
Dec 14, 2021
Will continue to play with injured toe
Rodgers said Tuesday on his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show that his toe injury won't keep him from suiting up on game days, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. "It's just pain management, but I'm going to keep playing and probably not practice a whole lot," Rodgers relayed
ANALYSIS
There was no mention of surgery, which Rodgers bandied about after aggravating his toe injury during this past Sunday's win against the Bears. It appears the quarterback has avoided such a fate, but he also seems as if he'll cede practice reps to whichever quarterback is available this week, whether it's Jordan Love (illness) -- who is on the reserve/COVID-19 list -- or Kurt Benkert. Assuming his prediction comes to pass this weekend, Rodgers again will be under center Sunday at Baltimore.
Dec 13, 2021
Hopes to avoid minor surgery
Rodgers hopes to avoid minor surgery to immobilize his fractured toe, but he did acknowledge it as a possibility Sunday night after aggravating the injury during a 45-30 win over the Bears, ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports. "That would be last resort, for sure," Rodgers said. "But I've got to see what kind of setback it was tonight."
ANALYSIS
While surgery wouldn't automatically mean missing a game, Rodgers hopes to avoid it after throwing for 300-plus yards and multiple touchdowns in each of his first three contests since suffering the toe fracture. He said a decision would come Monday after more testing, with Rodgers aiming for a plan that would allow him to play this Sunday in Baltimore. Kurt Benkert served as Rodgers' backup for the primetime win over Chicago, with Jordan Love on the reserve/COVID-19 list since last Monday (Dec. 6).
Dec 13, 2021
Carves up Bears' secondary
Rodgers (toe) completed 29 of 37 pass attempts for 341 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday's 45-30 win over the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Chicago appeared to use Rodgers' comment about his relationship with the team as bulletin board material in the first half of this contest, but the cream eventually rose to the top in yet another win for the quarterback in this rivalry. The 38-year-old has been on an absolute roll recently, passing for 1,033 yards with 10 touchdowns and no turnovers over his last three games. It was reported that the toe that Rodgers injured three weeks ago will continue to bother the quarterback for the rest of the season, but it clearly hasn't affected his play on the field. The next defense that has to deal with the star quarterback will be the Ravens next Sunday.
Dec 12, 2021
Toe injury expected to linger
Rodgers' fractured left pinkie toe isn't expected to fully heal until after the season, but the quarterback still intends to play through the issue, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The toe injury first surfaced after Rodgers missed the Packers' Week 9 loss to the Chiefs following a positive COVID-19 test, but he's proceeded to start Green Bay's subsequent three games, completing 64.3 percent of his throws for 8.6 yards per attempt and a 6:1 TD:INT while leading his team to a 2-1 record during that stretch. Rodgers relayed that his toe showed some improvement during the Packers' Week 13 bye, but unless he gets some extended time off to rest up, the injury will likely continue to linger until after the season. According to Schefter, doctors are unable to completely numb the pain in Rodgers' toe because he needs to have complete feeling in his foot when he plants it on the field. Since Rodgers wouldn't be able to play if he underwent an operation that would require the insertion of a pin into his foot, he'll delay the decision on any surgery until after the regular season and any playoff contests that follow.
Dec 10, 2021
Cleared to play
Rodgers (toe) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers returned to a limited practice Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday. That's more than he did before Green Bay's last outing, a 36-28 win over the Rams in Week 12. While he may eventually need surgery on his fractured toe, Rodgers has thrown for 692 yards and six TDs over the last two contests, and he said he's feeling a bit better after the Week 13 bye.
Dec 10, 2021
Returns to practice
Rodgers (toe) is practicing Friday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers didn't practice at all before Green Bay's last game, a 36-28 win over the Rams in Week 12. He'll now get in one practice after a bye, rejoining his teammates Friday afternoon as the Packers prepare for a home game against the Bears on Sunday. While the toe fracture may continue to limit his practice reps going forward, Rodgers hasn't seemed too bothered in games so far, throwing for 692 yards and six touchdowns between Weeks 11 and 12.
Dec 9, 2021
Doesn't practice Thursday
Rodgers (toe) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers continues to manage his broken left pinkie toe, which may keep him off the practice field all week. Still, he doesn't need the reps to be ready for game action, as evidenced by his performance in three contests playing with the injury prior to the Packers' Week 13 bye (8.6 YPA and six TDs versus one interception). With Jordan Love on the reserve/COVID-19 list as the result of a positive test for the virus, the Packers signed Kurt Benkert to the active roster this week to handle all the practice reps that typically would go to Rodgers.
Dec 8, 2021
Not practicing, per usual
Rodgers (toe) isn't practicing Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers said the Week 13 bye helped his fractured toe, but it's still something he'll need to manage until he has a chance for extended rest, which likely won't happen until the offseason. He made it clear he expects to play in Sunday's game against the Bears, and he hopes to play out the rest of the season (plus the playoffs) without missing any action.
Dec 7, 2021
Injured toe improving after bye
Rodgers said Tuesday during an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" that his fractured left pinkie toe showed improvement during the Packers' Week 13 bye, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. "The biggest key is rest. I wish there was another one of these [bye] weeks so I could get 14-to-21 great days without doing anything, but the toe is improving," Rodgers said.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' comments about his improving health offers some reassurance that he'll be in less pain during the Packers' Week 15 game against the Bears, but as he acknowledges, the toe injury likely won't be resolved completely until he receives some extended rest. Even so, Rodgers opted to forgo surgery during the bye week to address the injury, hoping that he'll be able to play through the issue for the rest of the regular season and playoffs before likely going under the knife at some point over the offseason. Even while presumably playing with his toe at less than 100 percent following his return from an absence Week 9 due to a positive COVID-19 toe, Rodgers performed at a high level over the Packers' final three games prior to the bye week. Between wins over the Seahawks and Rams and a road loss to the Vikings, Rodgers completed 64.3 percent of his throws for 984 yards and a 6:1 TD:INT while contributing 29 yards and another score on the ground.
Nov 30, 2021
Toe surgery still on table
Rodgers relayed on Tuesday's episode of The Pat McAfee Show that a procedure on his pinky toe remains a possibility. "We're hoping to avoid surgery obviously, but it'd be so minor that I wouldn't miss any time," Rodgers said. "I could have the surgery on Monday or Tuesday and play on Sunday."
ANALYSIS
The Packers have hit their bye week, and Rodgers himself enters it with a broken toe that he's played on for three straight contests. The team will evaluate his health either later this week or early next week with the hope that rest and treatment will get his toe back to 100 percent. At that point, a decision will be made on whether surgery is the correct course of action. Whatever Rodgers and the Packers decide to do, there seems to be no worry about the quarterback suiting up for their next game Sunday, Dec. 12 against the Bears.
Nov 29, 2021
Doesn't plan to have surgery
Rodgers (toe) doesn't plan to undergo surgery at this time, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers has been hindered by a toe injury in each of the last two games, but he's hopeful that the injury will have time to heal and improve during the Packers' Week 13 bye. While the quarterback hasn't ruled out a procedure at a later time, his decision to forgo surgery for now bodes well for his status against the Bears on Dec. 12.
Nov 28, 2021
Strong performance against Rams
Rodgers completed 28 of his 45 passes for 307 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 36-28 win over the Rams. He added two rushes for zero yards and a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers marched the Packers offense up and down the field for much of the game. He accounted for all of the team's offensive touchdowns, the first of which came on the ground as he rolled out to the right and juked past Jalen Ramsey from one yard away. Rodgers also added passing scores of seven and five yards, paired with explosive gains of 54 and 43 yards to Randall Cobb and Davante Adams, respectively. The end result was Rodgers' second consecutive game with 300 or more passing yards and multiple touchdowns through the air.
Nov 26, 2021
Cleared to play
Rodgers (toe) won't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Rams, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers didn't practice at all this week, instead relaying the calls to backup QB Jordan Love during Friday's session, per Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. Shortly thereafter, coach Matt LaFleur confirmed that Rodgers again will play through a broken toe, while teammates Aaron Jones (knee) and Allen Lazard (shoulder) are listed as questionable after missing Week 11.
Nov 25, 2021
Not practicing Thursday
Rodgers (toe) wasn't in attendance for Thursday's practice and will be listed as a non-participant on the Packers' official report, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers, who told reporters Wednesday that he's been playing through a fractured left pinkie toe for both of the Packers' last two games, was off the practice field for the second straight day. Last week, Rodgers missed the Packers' first two practices before returning to work Friday and heading into the team's eventual 34-31 loss to the Vikings without an injury designation, and the team is seemingly hopeful he follows a similar path this week. Even while playing through the painful injury, Rodgers was effective as ever in the narrow loss to Minnesota, completing 23 of 33 attempts for a season-high 385 yards and four touchdowns.
Nov 24, 2021
Tending to broken toe
Rodgers relayed Wednesday that he's dealing with a broken toe but won't miss any game action as a result of the injury, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
At the same time the Packers activated him from the reserve/COVID-19 list prior to a Week 10 game against the Seahawks, Rodgers was listed with a toe injury. He hasn't practiced since he returned to Green Bay's facilities, and he finally clarified the nature of his issue during media availability Wednesday following a report he was tending to COVID toe. Rodgers suffered a fracture to his pinky toe while ramping up his activity as he attempted to gain medical clearance to play Seattle, which was discovered via X-ray. Despite the lack of practice reps in the meantime, he intends "to play every single week." Rodgers will aim to avoid a designation upon the release of Friday's injury report, as he did last week.
Nov 24, 2021
Not practicing Wednesday
Rodgers (toe) isn't taking part in Wednesday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
In the aftermath of his time away from the field due to a positive test for COVID-19, Rodgers has been dealing with a painful toe injury that hasn't allowed him to practice. No matter, he's produced in back-to-back matchups with the Seahawks and Vikings, completing 65.7 percent of his passes for 677 yards, four touchdowns and one interception and taking four carries for 29 yards. There's a decent chance Rodgers remains away from the field this week, too, but Friday's final practice report of the week will indicate whether he enters the weekend with a designation for Sunday's showdown with the Rams.
Nov 21, 2021
Battles through toe injury
Rodgers (toe) completed 23 of 33 pass attempts for 385 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday's 34-31 loss to Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers entered the contest nursing what was described as a painful toe injury, but you wouldn't have been able to tell by looking at his dominant stat line. That doesn't mean the star quarterback's toe won't be an issue moving forward, as the affected foot was stepped on before halftime. After the game Rodgers stated that the injury is "a little worse than turf toe" and will likely remain an issue until he can rest it on Green Bay's Week 13 bye, ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports. The 37-year-old already hinted that he is unlikely to practice this week, but it sounds like he is going to try and tough it out and suit up against the Rams next Sunday. If Rodgers is a go, his toe injury may be tougher to mask against the dominant pass-rush duo of Aaron Donald and Von Miller than it was against the Vikings.
Nov 21, 2021
Will start, despite painful injury
Rodgers remains on track to start Sunday's game against the Vikings, but he'll do so while playing through a painful toe injury that he'll likely contend with for the remainder of the season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers appeared to pick up the injury in last week's 17-0 win over the Seahawks, after he had sat out the Packers' previous contest Week 9 against the Chiefs while he was on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The Packers withheld Rodgers from practices Wednesday and Thursday to give him a chance to heal up from the injury, and while he returned to the field Friday as a limited participant, he took only about 15 reps, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Green Bay is hopeful that its upcoming Week 13 bye will allow Rodgers to regain some health, but in the meantime, the team isn't expected to dramatically alter its game plans for the next two contests while the star signal-caller is at less than 100 percent. As is the case with most aging quarterbacks, Rodgers had already scaled back his involvement as a runner before the toe injury surfaced. He's averaging a career-low 2.8 yards per carry and has logged only 20 carries through nine outings.

Removed from injury report
Rodgers (toe) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers and coach Matt LaFleur have both already said the quarterback would start Sunday's game, despite missing practice Wednesday and Thursday. Rodgers returned Friday as a limited participant, while WR Allen Lazard (shoulder) missed another session and is listed as doubtful.
Nov 19, 2021
Ready for start
Coach Matt LaFleur said Friday that Rodgers (toe) will start Sunday's game at Minnesota, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
There was never much doubt, especially after Rodgers returned to practice earlier Friday. It's his first practice since Nov. 1, as he spent time on the COVID-19 list earlier this month and then missed Wednesday and Thursday with a toe injury.
Nov 19, 2021
Returns to practice
Rodgers (toe) returned to practice Friday and remains on track to play in Sunday's game in Minnesota, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Between a COVID-19 absence and a toe injury, Rodgers hasn't practiced since Nov. 1. He already said he'll "definitely" play in Sunday's game, and the return to practice Friday backs it up. The question now is if the Packers give him a game designation on their Friday injury report.
Nov 18, 2021
No practice Thursday
Rodgers (toe) was a spectator at Thursday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers hasn't logged an on-field practice rep since Nov. 1, the result of a stay on the reserve/COVID-19 list and a toe injury. The latter is impacting his activity level this week, but as he told Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette on Wednesday, Rodgers is "definitely playing Sunday" in Minnesota. Whether or not Rodgers heads into the weekend with a designation remains to be seen, though.
Nov 17, 2021
DNP due to toe injury
Rodgers didn't practice Wednesday due to a toe injury, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
A number of Packers veterans focus on rehab versus take part in Wednesday's walkthrough. Among them, Rodgers, Allen Lazard (shoulder) and David Bakhtiari (knee) didn't practice at all, while Davante Adams (shoulder) was limited. Afterward, Rodgers told Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, "I'm definitely playing Sunday" at Minnesota, all but confirming his toe issue is nothing to worry about. As a result, Rodgers is a good bet to get back on the practice field as a full participant this week, potentially as soon as Thursday.
Nov 17, 2021
Not practicing Wednesday
Rodgers (undisclosed) wasn't present at the portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers made his return from a one-game absence this past Sunday against the Seahawks after a bout with COVID-19. There was no mention of an injury in the aftermath of the 17-0 win, but Demovsky hinted Rodgers could be dealing with a toe issue. Rodgers also may be getting the day off, so his listing on Wednesday's practice report will be of keen interest.
Nov 14, 2021
Quiet but sufficient in return
Rodgers completed 23 of 37 pass attempts for 292 yards and one interception against Seattle on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers dealt with a couple untimely drops and seemed have trouble getting on the same page with some pass catchers -- tight end Josiah Deguara in particular -- but luckily for the Packers the opposing quarterback (Russell Wilson) was a complete mess and Green Bay was able to eventually lean on its AJ Dillon-led run game to tie up the win. Rodgers will need to be sharper at Minnesota in Week 11, but the good news is he probably will be.
Nov 13, 2021
Officially set for Sunday
Rodgers was activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list and will start Sunday's contest against the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
No surprise here as it was reported earlier Saturday the star quarterback would be good to go in the pivotal matchup against the Seahawks. Rodgers curiously did get put on the injury report due to a toe injury despite never taking the field over the last 10 days, but since he doesn't carry any sort of game status designation, it's a comical moot point. Sunday will mark the first time Rodgers has his full assortment of wide receivers available since Week 4 after Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) returned off injured reserve in Week 9.
Nov 13, 2021
Likely to be activated for Week 10
Rodgers is expected to be activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list and thus will be eligible to play Sunday against the Seahawks, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The Packers have until 4:00 p.m. ET to activate Rodgers from the reserve/COVID-19 list, but the star quarterback evidently has passed protocols to this point and has already returned to the Packers' practice facilities Saturday. The 2020 MVP appears to be on pace to play Sunday against the Seahawks' poor secondary which would relegate Jordan Love to the bench.
Nov 11, 2021
Appears on track for Week 10
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Thursday that Rodgers (illness) has continued to take part in virtual meetings this week and remains on track to start Sunday against the Seahawks, provided the quarterback "checks out well" when eligible to return from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
During his appearance Tuesday on "The Pat McAfee Show," Rodgers was optimistic that he would clear all COVID-19-related protocols prior to Sunday's game, and the fact that LaFleur expressed similar sentiments is a reassuring sign. Even so, due to his status as an unvaccinated player who tested positive for the virus, Rodgers will need to pass a cardiac screen and exhibit improved symptoms at the conclusion of his 10-day isolation period Saturday in order to play the following day. Rodgers said Tuesday that he's gradually ramped up his conditioning work while he's been away from the team, and the lack of on-field practice reps in advance of the game against Seattle should hinder him less from a preparation standpoint compared to a more inexperienced player. In the event Rodgers experiences a setback in his recovery from the virus and isn't able to play this weekend, backup Jordan Love will keep himself prepared to make a second straight start.
Nov 9, 2021
Confident in playing Week 10
Rodgers (illness) said Tuesday during his appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he's confident he'll clear all necessary COVID-19 protocols in order to play Sunday against the Seahawks. "I believe there's a health hurdle -- movement, sweating and getting into it and making sure my body, especially my heart -- is fine with physical exertion," Rodgers said, when asked about any potential barriers to him playing this weekend.
ANALYSIS
Since Rodgers is following the protocol for unvaccinated players, he won't be eligible to return to the Packers' facility any earlier than Saturday, 10 days after he initially tested positive for the virus. Based on Rodgers' comments, he doesn't seem to be exhibiting any symptoms of the virus, but in order to be eligible to play, he'll still need to turn in consecutive negative test results at least 24 hours apart by the end of the 10-day period. Because of the timing of his placement on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Rodgers won't be able to take part in practice this week, but he'll continue to stay on top of the Packers' game plan virtually while gradually picking up the intensity of his conditioning work during his final days of quarantine. In the meantime, Jordan Love will take the first-team reps in practice and keep prepared to make his second start this weekend in the event Rodgers doesn't clear the protocol before Sunday's game.
Nov 3, 2021
Moves to COVID-19 list
The Packers will place Rodgers on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After playing without Davante Adams due to a positive test for the virus last Thursday in Arizona, Green Bay will be without one of its other top playmakers Week 9 for the same reason. Coach Matt LaFleur mentioned Wednesday that Rodgers "won't be available this week" and doesn't know how long the quarterback will be sidelined. In Rodgers' place, second-year QB Jordan Love will receive his first career start Sunday at Kansas City, and with Kurt Benkert (undisclosed) on the practice squad COVID-19 list the Packers are expected to sign Blake Bortles, who will be elevated from the practice squad to the active roster in advance of game day.
Nov 3, 2021
Out Week 9, could miss Week 10, too
Rodgers (illness), who won't be eligible to play Sunday against the Chiefs after informing teammates Wednesday that he testing positive for COVID-19, could be at risk of missing the Packers' Week 10 game against the Seahawks on Nov. 14 due to his status as an unvaccinated player, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garofolo of NFL Network report.
ANALYSIS
Per NFL COVID-19 protocols, unvaccinated players who test positive for the virus are required to complete a 10-day isolation period and aren't eligible to return until they're no longer exhibiting symptoms. Assuming Wednesday counts as the first day of Rodgers' isolation period, he won't be cleared to rejoin the team until Sat., Nov. 13, one day before the Packers' matchup with the Seahawks. While the lack of practice reps beforehand isn't ideal, the Packers would presumably still be comfortable having Rodgers start against Seattle if he does in fact clear the necessary protocols in the minimum amount of the time. With Rodgers out for at least this Sunday's game in Kansas City, 2020 first-round pick Jordan Love will make his first regular-season start in place of the NFL's reigning MVP.
Nov 3, 2021
Positive for COVID, out Week 9
Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday and will miss Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The Packers have yet to officially confirm the report, but Rodgers will more than likely be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list later Wednesday. Second-year signal-caller Jordan Love is expected to handle the first-team reps in practice this week and make his first NFL start in place of Rodgers in Kansas City.
Oct 28, 2021
Overcomes personnel shortage
Rodgers completed 22 of 37 passes for 184 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Packers' 24-21 win over the Cardinals on Thursday night. He also rushed twice for three yards.
ANALYSIS
Playing without top wideouts Davante Adams and Allen Lazard due to their placement on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Rodgers faced an uphill battle against an undefeated Cardinals team and persevered. The grizzled veteran worked around the makeshift receiving corps by targeting running back Aaron Jones a team-high 11 times, and he also leveraged his extensive rapport with veteran Randall Cobb into a pair of second-half passing touchdowns. Rodgers had a pass knocked down on 4th and goal with just over three minutes remaining that could have potentially sealed the game for Green Bay at that point had it avoided linebacker Devon Kennard's hand, but the Packers defense ultimately took care of buttoning up the upset victory by picking off Kyler Murray in the end zone with 12 seconds left. Rodgers will look to bounce back to his usual level of production with his full pass-catching arsenal available when the Packers travel to Arrowhead Stadium for a Week 9 showdown with the Chiefs a week from Sunday.
Oct 24, 2021
Three more touchdowns
Rodgers completed 27 of 35 passes for 274 yards and three touchdowns against Washington on Sunday, adding two carries for 17 yards.
ANALYSIS
The contest was somewhat close in the first half, but Rodgers had his grip on the game the whole time and steadily applied more pressure as time passed, throwing a clean game and involving a variety of targets to lead Green Bay to a comfortable 24-10 win. Davante Adams (six catches for 76 yards and one touchdown on seven targets) shared the runway with Allen Lazard (five catches for 60 yards and one touchdown on six targets) and Robert Tonyan (four catches for 63 yards and one touchdown on five targets) to establish a balanced passing attack. The reemergence of Lazard and Tonyan can't hurt the Packers offense, especially with a potential shootout ahead against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals on Thursday for Week 8. Rodgers has been very sharp since his rough Week 1 game, producing 17 touchdowns (two rushing) versus one interception in six games.
Oct 17, 2021
Three total TDs in win
Rodgers completed 17 of 23 passes for 195 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while also rushing seven times for 19 yards and another score in the Packers' 24-14 win over the Bears on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers started slowly with a scoreless first quarter before notching his first of two touchdown throws on a one-yard shovel pass to Allen Lazard early in the second quarter. The future Hall of Famer would go on to lead a 10-play, 90-yard march in the third quarter that culminated in a 12-yard scoring toss to Aaron Jones, and Rodgers capped off the fantasy-friendly effort with a six-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter that saw him get just inside the right pylon and then jaw some with the Soldier Field crowd. The performance wasn't Rodgers' most prolific through the air by any means, but with the trio of scores, he kept fantasy managers pleased. He'll look to get passing yardage back up to usual standards when the Packers host Washington in Week 7.
Oct 3, 2021
Efficient, mistake-free in win
Rodgers completed 20 of 36 passes for 248 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Packers' 27-17 win over the Steelers on Sunday. He also rushed three times for two yards.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers wasn't at his absolute sharpest, but he did tie Dan Marino for sixth all-time in touchdown passes (420) in a mistake-free effort. The future Hall of Famer connected with Randall Cobb on scoring tosses of 23 yards and one yard, the latter the milestone throw in the latter portion of the third quarter. Rodgers has yet to author his first 300-yard effort of the season, but he now boasts a fantasy-friendly 8:2 TD:INT through four games and multiple touchdown passes in three straight. Rodgers will look to keep up his strong start in a Week 5 road showdown against Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
Sep 27, 2021
Leads clutch comeback on SNF
Rodgers completed 23 of 33 pass attempts for 261 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 30-28 win over the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers led an improbable drive with 37 seconds left in the contest to put Mason Crosby in position to hit the 51-yard winning kick. The superstar quarterback has looked like just that over the last two contests after a horrid Week 1 performance that had many questioning his abilities and commitment to the Packers. The low yardage total (in relation to the high-scoring affair) can be attributed to a flag-happy referee crew that called over 90 yards of pass interference penalties against the 49ers' secondary. While fantasy managers do not benefit from those missed yards, they can take solace in that their quarterback is starting to hit his stride as we head into the meat of the season. Up next is a tough matchup against the Steelers' defense, but there are only a handful of quarterbacks you should be starting over Rodgers if you currently roster him.
Sep 20, 2021
Rebounds with four-touchdown victory
Rodgers completed 22 of 27 passes for 255 yards and four touchdowns in Monday night's 35-17 win over the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers bounced back from a poor Week 1 performance to throw nearly as many touchdowns as incompletions. The reigning MVP's volume was limited in the first half as Aaron Jones was established as Green Bay's centerpiece, yet Rodgers still found his tailback with a couple short scores early on. Rodgers then dazzled with a pair of throws to begin the third quarter, dropping a beautiful, 50-yard dime to Davante Adams before delivering a 22-yard strike down the seam for a Robert Tonyan touchdown. With another red-zone scoring pass to Jones later, Rodgers capped a highly efficient night, sending him into Week 3's matchup against the 49ers on a positive note.
Sep 12, 2021
Awful Week 1 performance
Rodgers completed 15 of 28 passes for 133 yards with two interceptions in Sunday's 38-3 loss to the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Maybe all that time Rodgers missed while deciding whether he wanted to return to Green Bay for another season had an impact after all. The 37-year-old only threw five INTs all of last year and went the entire 2018 campaign only getting picked off twice, but Rodgers was intercepted on consecutive drives in the second half Sunday to squash any hope of a comeback. He hit the bench after that, with Jordan Love playing the final 11 minutes for the Packers. It's way too early to write off either Rodgers or Green Bay, but if this season does somehow go off the rails, Love could wind up seeing a lot more snaps than expected. Look for a more focused Rodgers to post far better numbers in Week 2 at home against the Lions.
Sep 1, 2021
Game moved to Flordia
Rodgers and the Packers will play their Week 1 game against the Saints in Jacksonville rather than New Orleans, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
The Packers avoid a true road game, though Rodgers might've been looking forward to slinging the ball around in a dome (career 8.3 YPA, 64:12 TD:INT). In any case, he'll head to Jacksonville to face the Saints before returning to Green Bay to host the Lions on Monday Night Football in Week 2. The Packers recently placed star left tackle David Bakhtiari (knee) on the PUP list, but their offense otherwise appears healthy heading into Week 1.
Aug 21, 2021
Won't play Saturday
Rodgers was not in uniform in advance of Saturday's preseason game against the Jets, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The same applies to top backup Jordan Love (shoulder), meaning that Kurt Benkert and Jake Dolegala are slated to handle Green Bay's QB duties Saturday. Looking ahead, Rodgers seems unlikely to see action in the Packers' preseason finale, with an eye toward having him healthy and fresh for Week 1.
Aug 14, 2021
Will not play Saturday
Rodgers will not play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Texans, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Matt LaFleur said earlier in the week that Rodgers is unlikely to play during the preseason, so it comes as no surprise that he is being held out. Rodgers remains on track to be under center for the Packers in Week 1.
Aug 10, 2021
Unlikely to play during preseason
Head coach Matt LaFleur said Tuesday that Rodgers "will 'most likely not' play during the preseason," according to Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official website.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers missed some offseason work amid a dispute with management, but he has taken part in every practice session since training camp began, and the Packers don't see a need to expose Rodgers -- who will be entering his 17th season -- to a potential injury. With Rodgers unlikely to play before Week 1, backup quarterback Jordan Love will get as many reps as he can handle during the exhibition season, and third-stringer Kurt Benkert will presumably get the rest. Barring something unforeseen, expect Rodgers to be under center for the Packers when they kick off the regular season against the Saints on Sept. 12.
Jul 29, 2021
Agrees to re-worked deal
Rodgers has agreed to a re-worked deal with Green Bay, NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per the terms of the agreement, the QB is now under contract with the Packers through 2022, with the 2023 portion of his deal having been deleted. In any case, Rodgers -- who had previously expressed frustration the organization -- is in the fold and currently practicing with the team in training camp. Additionally, he'll be joined by wide receiver Randall Cobb, a player the veteran signal caller reportedly wanted to play with once again and who was recently re-acquired in a trade with the Texans.
Jul 28, 2021
Practicing on first day of camp
Rodgers is leading the starting offense Wednesday at the first practice of Packers training camp, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Meanwhile, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Packers are finalizing a trade for Texans slot receiver Randall Cobb, whose return to Green Bay seems to have been requested by Rodgers. Whatever the case, the 37-year-old QB is on board for at least one more year with the Packers, following an offseason filled with rumors of trades and retirement. He'll have a deeper WR group at his disposal this year, with Cobb, Devin Funchess and third-round pick Amari Rodgers joining Davante Adams, Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
Jul 27, 2021
Reports for start of camp
Packers president Mark Murphy told a fan that Rodgers is present for the first day of training camp, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Murphy didn't respond when a reporter asked if he could be quoted, but it does seem he was being honest, considering Mike Renner of PFF and freelance writer Greg Bates got pictures/video of Rodgers entering the team facility. Recent rumors suggested the quarterback might retire if the Packers didn't trade him, while the more recent update from Monday points toward a resolution that will keep him in Green Bay for one more season before allowing for his departure next spring. His presence for the beginning of camp doesn't necessarily mean he'll practice right away if he's still disgruntled, but it should at least protect him from the $50,000-per-day fines that could come with a holdout. Rodgers and the Packers appear ready to make things work, if only for one last season.
Jul 20, 2021
Turned down extension offer
Rodgers reportedly elected to pass on a two-year extension offer from the Packers this offseason, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
ANALYSIS
Schefter notes that Green Bay's offer would have kept Rodgers with the franchise for five more seasons, while making him the highest-paid player in football. After the veteran QB elected not to participate in the Packers' on-field activities this offseason, the focus now turns to whether he'll be out there when training camp opens July 28. There have been plenty of reports suggesting that Rodgers' future with the team is cloudy due to issues he has with management, but to date the Packers have insisted that they won't deal their star signal caller.
Jul 11, 2021
Could join team for camp
Rodgers said Saturday that he'll "figure things out in a couple weeks" when asked by NBC Sports about his plans for the 2021 season, Ben Kenney of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Though the statement from Rodgers -- who was participating in this week's American Century Championship golf event in Lake Tahoe, Nev. -- is vague, it bears mentioning that the two-week timeline would align with the start of Packers training camp July 27. After his discontent with the organization became public knowledge on the day of the 2021 NFL Draft, Rodgers unsurprisingly elected to skip the Packers' entire offseason program, but his potential absence from training camp would prove more telling with regard to his intentions for the upcoming season. If Rodgers isn't on the field for the start of training camp, Jordan Love would step in as the team's No. 1 quarterback, and the Packers could start to more seriously entertain the idea of trading the reigning MVP.
Jul 8, 2021
Sidesteps questions about Week 1
When asked Tuesday whether or not he would be under center for the Packers in Week 1, Rodgers said, "we'll see," according to a video posted by Bleacher Report.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was pressed for an answer by several members of the broadcast team for The Match 2021 golf event he participated in, but he did not provide any clues about his status with the Packers nor this season. There certainly won't be any shortage of discussion about Rodgers in the weeks ahead, and his status will continue to be updated as things play out.
Jun 8, 2021
Absent from minicamp as expected
Rodgers is not among the quarterbacks as the Packers open mandatory minicamp Tuesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
This was the anticipated outcome at this point, but it's now official with Green Bay's minicamp underway. It remains to be seen how things will play out between Rodgers and the Packers, but it will likely be Jordan Love and Blake Bortles seeing most of the reps with the first-team offense in his absence. Rodgers stands to lose just under $100,000 by not making an appearance, though the Packers could choose to waive that fine by calling it an excused absence.
Jun 7, 2021
Expected to skip minicamp
Rodgers isn't expected to attend the Packers' mandatory minicamp that begins Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers continues his standoff with Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst and could be fined nearly $100,000 for his absences should Green Bay elect to do so. The front office has also toyed with potentially making them excused absence as a show of good faith, though it's unclear at this point if that gesture would hold any weight in Rodgers' camp. Look for Jordan Love and Blake Bortles to handle most of the first-team reps in his absence.
May 31, 2021
Stuck in standoff with GM Gutekunst
Packers GM Brian Gutekunst is "still holding firm" that he won't trade Rodgers, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers has neither confirmed nor denied asking for a trade, but there's little question he's upset with the Packers front office, an outfit led by Gutekunst and team president Mark Murphy. The 37-year-old QB isn't with the team for voluntary OTAs, thus missing out on a $500,000 workout bonus. The Packers can fine him $93,085 if he misses all three days of mandatory minicamp June 8-10, plus $50,000 for each missed day of training camp later this summer. Rodgers seems to be angling for a trade -- and might even threaten retirement -- while Gutekunst is still trying to find a resolution that keeps the reigning MVP in Green Bay for at least one more season.
Apr 30, 2021
Could threaten to retire?
Rodgers might consider retirement as an option to force his way out of Green Bay, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Packers GM Brian Gutekunst made it clear Thursday night that he has no intention of trading Rodgers, who reportedly has become disgruntled to the point that he's considered refusing to report to the team this summer. A holdout, however, could lead to fines, so the threat of retirement might provide more leverage. Of course, the Packers know that Rodgers prefers to continue his football career, and they'll still have him under contract if he retires and then un-retires. It's a complicated situation with no resolution in immediate sight.
Apr 30, 2021
GB not entertaining trade offers
GM Brian Gutekunst said the Packers won't trade Rodgers and believes the quarterback will play again for the team, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It was reported prior to the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft on Thursday that the 37-year-old has told some people he doesn't want to return to the team, though management expressed optimism about mending the relationship while talking to media after the opening round of the draft. Gutekunst said he received one call inquiring about the veteran quarterback during the draft, but it wasn't a long conversation. It previously appeared Rodgers remained locked with Green Bay at least until the 2022 offseason, but he may try to hasten his departure depending how the spring/summer unfold.
Apr 29, 2021
Fed up with management
Rodgers is so disgruntled with the Packers that he's told some people he doesn't want to return to the team, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Schefter also reports that the Rams (in February) and the 49ers (on Wednesday) have inquired about trading for Rodgers but were turned away by the Packers, who seemingly hope to mend the relationship with their future Hall of Fame QB. Thursday's report stops short of saying Rodgers will demand a trade, but it sounds like he's considering options to hasten his departure from Green Bay. While recent reports have suggested that won't happen any earlier than the 2022 offseason, the latest info from Schefter suggests Rodgers could try to play hardball and force his way out this spring/summer.
Jan 26, 2021
Not expecting trade
Rodgers expects to stay with the Packers for 2021, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. "I don't think that there's any reason why I wouldn't be back, but there's not many absolutes in this business," Rodgers said Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
While an MVP award may not be enough to stop trade rumors, it doesn't sound like 2021 will mark the beginning of the Jordan Love era in Green Bay. Packers CEO Mark Murphy was emphatic earlier this week when a radio host asked him about the QB situation, saying "there's no way in heck Aaron is not gonna be on the Packers," per NFL.com. That doesn't necessarily mean Rodgers will stay with the Packers through the end of his contract in 2023, but he'll likely stay put for at least one more season.
Jan 24, 2021
Throws for 346 yards in loss
Rodgers completed 33 of 48 passes for 346 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's loss in the NFC Championship Game.
ANALYSIS
As has been the case for the entirety of the season, Rodgers played at an MVP level and nearly led the Packers back from an 18-point deficit. He hit on several big plays to Marquez Valdes-Scantling, connecting for a 50-yard touchdown early in the second quarter as well as for gains of 29 and 24 yards. Rodgers other two scores came from eight and two yards, respectively. His only glaring error came just before halftime, when he threw an interception that ultimately led to a Buccaneers touchdown. Looking towards the 2021 season, Rodgers remains under contract with the Packers and should return to the team to continue to play at a high level.
Jan 3, 2021
Clinches top seed with 4 TDs
Rodgers completed 19 of 24 passes for 240 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday's 35-16 win over the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers threw three touchdowns in the first half, and could've had another deep one to start the second if not for a drop. Although Chicago also failed to secure a couple would-be interceptions, Rodgers once again got the best of his long-time divisional foe, locking up the NFC's top seed in the process. At 37 years old, Rodgers set a new Packers franchise record with 48 passing touchdowns versus just five interceptions, and added another three scores on the ground as well. Overall, that massive production will likely earn Rodgers his third career MVP award. The superstar signal-caller will now get a week off before Green Bay hosts a divisional-round playoff game.
Dec 28, 2020
Strikes for four scores
Rodgers completed 21 of 25 pass attempts for 231 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 40-14 win over the Titans. He added 19 yards on three carries.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was in his element on a snowy night at Lambeau Field under the bright lights of Sunday Night Football. While the veteran gunslinger did throw his fifth interception of the season, his four incompletions marked a new low for 2020. The 36-year-old currently sits north of a 70 percent completion rate for the first time in his career, while also eclipsing the 4,000-yard mark for the ninth time over 11 full seasons. With 44 touchdowns to the aforementioned five picks, Rodgers has put himself firmly in the MVP discussion. Look for the future Hall of Famer to end the year on a high note as the Packers attempt to lock up the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye when they take on the Bears in Week 17.
Dec 20, 2020
Can't maintain typical efficiency
Rodgers completed 20 of his 29 pass attempts for 143 yards and one touchdown in Week 15 against the Panthers. He added five rushes for 26 yards and another touchdown on the ground.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was in rhythm early and led the Packers to touchdowns on each of their first two drives. He capped the first with a one-yard touchdown toss to Robert Tonyan, before rushing into the end zone for a five-yard touchdown on Green Bay's second drive. However, Rodgers wouldn't reach the end zone again and took to the air only 10 times in the second half after building a three-possession lead. The Packers will likely be in for a more competitive game in Week 16 against the Titans, which should give Rodgers more of a chance to work downfield.

Another masterful showing Week 14
Rodgers completed 26 of 33 pass attempts for 290 yards and three touchdowns, adding six carries for 13 yards and a rushing TD during Sunday's 31-24 win against the Lions.
ANALYSIS
After Detroit managed to keep the game tied through two quarters, Rodgers led the Packers to a combined 17 points over Green Bay's first three drives of the second half. In doing so, the eight-time Pro Bowler helped his team secure a second consecutive NFC North crown, though Rodgers also currently has Green Bay situated as the conference's top seed. It's hard to argue Rodgers' 39:4 TD:INT isn't of MVP level, as the 10-3 Packers prepare to host the sliding Panthers on Saturday night.

Reaches 400 career TDs
Rodgers completed 25 of 34 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 30-16 win over the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
It was another surgical performance for Rodgers, who found Robert Tonyan on a 25-yard TD late in the second quarter sandwiched between a pair of red-zone touchdowns to Davante Adams. The second score to Adams was also a record setter, as Rodgers reached 400 career touchdown passes faster than any other player in NFL history. He'll look to bolster his MVP case further, and get the Packers closer to another NFC North title, in Week 14 against a very vulnerable Lions secondary.

Four more scores outdoors
Rodgers completed 21 of 29 pass attempts for 211 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday's 41-25 victory over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers methodically dismantled one of the league's best pass defenses in the national spotlight, putting the game seemingly out of reach with three touchdowns on the Packers' first three drives. The future Hall of Famer also reached 50,000 career passing yards, becoming just the 11th quarterback to ever reach that milestone. The 36-year-old has been on an absolute tear this season -- outside of a anomalous ugly outing against Tampa Bay in Week 6 -- completing 69 percent of his passes for 3,100 yards and 33 touchdowns to just four interceptions. Rodgers will look to strengthen his MVP bid in a favorable matchup against the Eagles on Sunday.
Nov 22, 2020
Tacks on three more touchdowns
Rodgers completed 27 of 38 pass attempts for 311 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Week 11 against the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers put together another impressive performance, turning in his third consecutive game with at least 300 passing yards and three or more total touchdowns. He did make a few mistakes, most notably a mishandled snap on the team's first drive and an interception later in the first quarter. However, he was strong from there, slinging touchdowns of 25, five and four yards. Things may be a bit more difficult for Rodgers in Week 12 in what will likely be a slow-paced matchup against the Bears.
Nov 15, 2020
Tallies three total TDs in win
Rodgers completed 24 of 34 pass attempts with 325 yards, two passing touchdowns and an interception during Sunday's 24-20 win against the Jaguars. He added three rushes for a total of four yards, including a five-yard touchdown run.
ANALYSIS
The MVP frontrunner continues to churn out multi-TD performances, with Sunday's outing marking his fourth in a row with at least three total scores. Rodgers has also exceeded 300 passing yards in back-to-back weeks, as well as four total times on the season, already equaling his total from 16 appearances during 2019. Rodgers' second-quarter TD jaunt was an anomaly, marking just his second rushing score since the start of last season. With an incredible 26:3 TD:INT on the season, Rodgers readies for a Week 11 matchup against an Indianapolis defense that is tied for third best in the NFL with just 1.2 passing TDs surrendered per contest.

Thrives against short-handed Niners
Rodgers completed 25 of 31 passes for 305 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Packers' 34-17 win over the 49ers on Thursday night. He also rushed once for seven yards.
ANALYSIS
Four days after the Packers suffered a surprising home loss to the Vikings, Rodgers helped ensure there would be no second straight upset. The future Hall of Famer got off to a hot start and never looked back, hitting Davante Adams for a 36-yard touchdown to cap off a crisp opening 75-yard drive and adding scoring tosses of one and 52 yards to Marcedes Lewis and Marquez Valdes-Scantling before halftime. Rodgers would hit MVS again for another score early in the second half, giving the perennial Pro Bowl signal caller a quartet of four-touchdown efforts thus far this season. Having righted his team's ship after their Week 8 stumble, Rodgers will look to carry over the momentum into a Week 10 battle against the Jaguars on Sunday, Nov. 15.
Nov 1, 2020
Falls short against Vikings
Rodgers completed 27 of 41 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 28-22 loss to the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
All three TD passes went to Davante Adams, but Minnesota's Dalvin Cook answered back with four scores of his own, and Rodgers fumbled after a sack on the final play of the game while trying to engineer a game-winning drive. He's thrown for at least three touchdowns in five of seven starts this season en route to a stellar 20:2 TD:INT, but Rodgers could face stiffer opposition in Week 9 from the 49ers' secondary.
Oct 25, 2020
Picks apart Texans
Rodgers completed 23 of 34 pass attempts for 283 yards and four touchdowns in Week 7 against the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers led the Packers to four touchdowns on their first six possessions, throwing for a score on each occasion. He connected with Davante Adams for a 45-yard score late in the third quarter, but otherwise worked the team steadily down the field for three scores within the five-yard line. It was a much more characteristic performance for Rodgers, who struggled in a Week 6 matchup against Tampa Bay. He and Green Bay will take on the Vikings in another exploitable matchup in Week 8.
Oct 18, 2020
Has game to forget vs. Bucs
Rodgers completed 16 of 35 pass attempts for 160 yards and a pair of interceptions while adding 14 yards on two carries during Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers completed eight of his first 12 passes while leading a pair of scoring drives to start the game, but he fell on hard times soon after. He threw a pick-six on the third drive of the game which he followed up with another interception and never looked right the rest of the way as he finished with a dismal 46-percent completion rate. Rodgers, who was also sacked four times, came into this one with a stellar13:0 TD:INT and will have a chance to bounce back next Sunday against the Texans.
Oct 6, 2020
Throws four scores in victory
Rodgers completed 27 of 33 passes for 327 yards and four touchdowns in Monday night's 30-16 win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers continued his superb start to the season without his top two wideouts, Davante Adams (hamstring) and Allen Lazard (abdomen). With them sidelined, Green Bay featured tailbacks Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams prominently in the passing game, with Jones catching Rodgers' first touchdown, but it was tight end Robert Tonyan who stole the show. The little-known pass-catcher was on the receiving end of each of Rodgers' other three touchdowns, resulting in another high-scoring showing from the Packers. With Rodgers leading the way, he's now accumulated 13 touchdowns versus zero interceptions through four outings. Clearly firing on all cylinders heading into the bye week, Rodgers will be full of confidence while also anticipating Adams' return for when the team reconvenes ahead of Week 6's showdown against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.
Sep 28, 2020
Remains flawless on SNF
Rodgers completed 21 of 32 pass attempts for 283 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 37-30 win over the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was in vintage form under the bright lights, picking apart a Saints defense that is no slouch against opposing quarterbacks. The 36-year-old has thrown nine touchdowns while committing no turnovers through the first three games of the season. His 8.4 yards per attempt is the highest it has been since his 2014 MVP campaign. Injuries and Father Time seemed to have Rodgers on a gradual decline over the past few seasons, but the future Hall of Famer looks healthy and comfortable in his second season under Matt LaFleur. Consider Rodgers a premium fantasy option heading into a favorable Week 4 matchup against Atlanta next Monday, especially if Davante Adams (hamstring) is able to return to action.
Sep 20, 2020
Two TDs in comeback win
Rodgers completed 18 of 30 passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns while adding two carries for 12 yards in Sunday's 42-21 win over the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers helped his team dig out of a 14-3 hole with a seven-yard touchdown to Aaron Jones followed by an 11-yard score to Robert Tonyan to take a 17-14 lead into halftime, then Jones and the defense took over in the second half. With Green Bay dominating on the ground, Rodgers' numbers took a step back after he threw for 364 yards and four touchdowns in the season opener. The veteran quarterback's week-to-week contributions will vary due to Green Bay's reliance on the ground game, but he's at the helm of an offense that's averaging 42.5 points per game. Up next is a Week 3 trip to New Orleans for a heavyweight battle on Sunday Night Football, and Rodgers could be without top receiver Davante Adams, who exited early with a hamstring injury.
Sep 13, 2020
Starts off season in stellar form
Rodgers completed 32 of 44 passes for 364 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Packers' 43-34 win over the Vikings on Sunday. He also rushed once for two yards.
ANALYSIS
The perennial Pro Bowler was in pristine, vintage form to kick off the new campaign, shrugging off the lack of a consistent No. 2 receiver and proven reliable primary tight end to repeatedly eviscerate the Vikings secondary. Rodgers connected with seven different members of the passing game, and the majority of his attention unsurprisingly focused on Davante Adams, whom he hit on 14 occasions for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Rodgers was impressively able to do damage at varying depths of target as well, as his scoring tosses came from 24, 45, one and four yards. With this outstanding performance under his belt, Rodgers will take on the challenge of putting together a fitting encore when he and the Packers face off with another NFC North rival in the Lions at Lambeau Field in Week 2 next Sunday.

Same old, same old in camp
Rodgers has looked like his usual self during Packers training camp, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers may not have the receivers of yore, but if his on-field play of late is any indication he hasn't lost a step. At Sunday's practice in particular, he connected with Davante Adams and Jake Kumerow on back-to-back 40-plus-yard touchdowns before closing the session with a two-minute drill that concluded with a successful 47-yard field goal by Mason Crosby. Due to the makeup of the skill-position ranks, the Packers may run more than ever for a Rodgers-led squad with Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams and rookie second-round pick AJ Dillon composing the backfield. Still, the aforementioned Adams is on board, Allen Lazard came on strong last year as the No. 2 WR, and a variety of young talent otherwise populates the wide receiver and tight end ranks.

Hasn't talked with GM yet
Talking to the media late Thursday night, Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said he hadn't spoken with Rodgers about the team's decision to use a first-round pick on fellow quarterback Jordan Love, Olivia Reiner of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers likely was hoping for a draft pick that would help him win games in 2020. Instead, he saw the Packers draft his potential successor at No. 26 overall, though Gutekunst believes it's too early to say that Love will eventually replace Rodgers, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports. There's an obvious disconnect between the words and the actions, so this should be a ongoing storyline throughout spring and summer. Rodgers has four seasons remaining on his contract, and while the deal technically doesn't contain any guaranteed money beyond 2020, the fact that his compensation has largely come in the form of bonuses means a trade or release before 2023 would leave Green Bay with a big dead-cap hit.

Racks up numbers in loss
Rodgers completed 31 of 39 passes for 326 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions during the Packers' 37-20 loss to the 49ers in Sunday's NFC Championship Game.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' final numbers were more than acceptable from a fantasy perspective, but they were largely the byproduct of a game script that called for the Packers to consistently put the ball up throughout the second half in response to a 27-0 halftime deficit. The future Hall of Famer's best throw of the day came on a game-long 65-yard completion to Davante Adams in the fourth quarter, and he also had a 42-yard connection with Jimmy Graham that put Green Bay within inches of the goal line. Otherwise, Rodgers made do with the thin receiving corps he was saddled with this past regular season, one that had no consistently viable second option behind Adams. Despite the disappointing conclusion to the season and personnel-related shortcomings, Rodgers generated a stellar 26:4 TD:INT and just managed to eclipse the 4,000-yard mark (4,002) for the second consecutive campaign. He'll look to lead the Packers back to the postseason in 2020 while working with what should be revamped pass-catching arsenal.

Throws two TD passes vs. Seahawks
Rodgers completed 16 of 27 pass attempts for 243 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 28-23 win over the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers completed just 59 percent of his pass attempts, but he averaged a healthy 9.0 yards per attempt thanks to some big gains through the air. The majority of his damage was done when targeting Davante Adams, who piled up 160 yards while reaching the end zone in the first and third quarters. Rodgers could be busier in next week's NFC Championship game against the 49ers, but he could face a tough task against one of the league's best defensive units.

Practices in full Thursday
Rodgers (knee) was a full practice participant Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Kicking off Week 9 prep with some limitations at Wednesday's walkthrough, Rodgers took on every rep Thursday in what was considered a true practice. He'll now turn his entire attention to Sunday's matchup against a Chargers defense that has given up 8.4 yards per attempt and 12 touchdowns versus seven interceptions to quarterbacks in eight games this season.
Oct 30, 2019
Limited by knee issue
Rodgers (knee) was limited on Wednesday's practice estimate, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers is making an appearance on the Packers' injury report for a fourth consecutive week, but he's rid himself of any designation well before game day on the first three occasions. During that span, he's completed 69.9 percent of his passes for 1,017 yards, 10 touchdowns and one interception, so the issue hasn't been a bother in the course of competition. Moreover, Rodgers may have Davante Adams (toe) at his disposal this weekend, as the wide receiver practiced in a limited fashion as well Wednesday.
Oct 28, 2019
Picks apart Chiefs' D
Rodgers (knee) completed 23 of 33 pass attempts for 305 yards and three touchdowns while adding 29 rushing yards on six carries in a 31-24 win over Kansas City on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers picked apart a sub-par Chiefs' defense with ease, focusing his attention on passes to his running backs that were matchup up with linebackers. The former MVP has looked like his prime self over the past two weeks, racking up over 750 yards and nine total touchdowns over that span. Rodgers will take on the Chargers in Week 9, and the key matchup will be San Diego's elite edge rushers versus Green Bay's top-tier offensive tackles. The star quarterback may see his production come back down to earth if coach Matt LaFleur decides to attack the Chargers on the ground (117.1 yards allowed per game), where they have been far more vulnerable in comparison to the pass (216.1 yards allowed per game).
Oct 24, 2019
Logs full practice Thursday
Rodgers (knee) practiced in full Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers rid himself of the injury designation one day removed from being limited at Wednesday's walkthrough. With the knee issue behind him, he can focus on becoming the first signal-caller this season to throw for 300-plus yards against the Chiefs defense.
Oct 23, 2019
Listed as limited participant
Rodgers (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers' practice reps have been restricted in both of the Packers' previous two games, only for the signal-caller to complete 70 percent of his passes for 712 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception during that stretch. The output is even more impressive considering the Packers offense is operating without Davante Adams (toe) at the moment. Assuming he enters the weekend without a designation, as he's done before the aforementioned contests, Rodgers will be looking to tee off again Sunday against a Chiefs defense that has yet to allow a 300-yard passer this season.
Oct 18, 2019
Cleared to play, minus top WRs
Rodgers (knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Raiders, but Davante Adams (toe) has been ruled out and Geronimo Allison (concussion/chest) is listed as doubtful, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As if that weren't bad enough, Marquez Valdes-Scantling (knee/ankle) is listed as questionable, heading toward a game-time decision. The Packers at least managed to get Jimmy Graham (ankle) off the injury report, giving Rodgers one of his regular pass catchers for Sunday's matchup with the Raiders.
Oct 17, 2019
Gets in limited practice
Rodgers (knee) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers seems to be following his regimen from a week ago, when he was limited on every injury report but subsequently entered the weekend without a designation. If he does so this week, he has a prime matchup to produce Sunday against a Raiders defense that has conceded 11 touchdown passes to signal-callers through five games. On the other hand, it's unclear who Rodgers will be throwing to, as Davante Adams (toe), Marquez Valdes-Scantling (ankle/knee), Geronimo Allison (concussion), Jimmy Graham (ankle) and Robert Tonyan (hip) all were held out of practice Thursday.
Oct 16, 2019
Gets 'limited' designation again
Rodgers (knee) was listed as limited on Wednesday's estimated injury report, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers got the LP treatment on all three of the Packers' Week 6 practice reports, only to shed his injury designation upon the release of the final one. The very same regimen may extend throughout this week as well as he prepares for Sunday's matchup with the Raiders' 22nd-ranked pass defense (263.6 yards per game).
Oct 12, 2019
Ready to face Lions
Rodgers (knee) won't carry an injury designation into Monday's game against the Lions, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was limited in practice all week, and it appears that was simply precautionary. He'll be under center for Monday's home game, which will decide the leader in the NFC North. In his only full game against the Lions last year, Rodgers threw for 442 yards and three touchdowns.
Oct 11, 2019
Limited in practice again
Rodgers (knee) remained limited at Friday's practice, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
There doesn't seem to be any real doubt about Rodgers' availability for Monday's game against the Lions, but he'll likely be playing without his No. 1 wide receiver for another week. Davante Adams was pessimistic Thursday when discussing his toe injury, and he didn't practice Friday in any capacity. It still isn't clear if Rodgers is dealing with an injury in the same knee that bothered him last year.
Oct 10, 2019
Limited by knee injury
Rodgers was limited at Thursday's practice due to a knee injury, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers notably played the last 15 games of last season with an MCL sprain and a tibial plateau fracture in his left knee. On this occasion, it's unclear which knee is affecting him, but his ability to participate in some capacity bodes well for his Week 6 status. Look for the Packers to clarify Rodgers' health prior to Monday's game against the Lions.
Aug 22, 2019
Suited up Thursday
Rodgers (back) is suited up for Thursday's preseason matchup with the Raiders, Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Just because Rodgers is suited up does not necessarily mean he will play, particularly with concerns about the field conditions in Winnipeg, but he will at least have a chance to see his first action of the preseason. The Packers figure to reveal whether or not Rodgers will ultimately take the field before kickoff, which is schedule for 8:00 ET.
Aug 20, 2019
Status unclear for Thursday
Rodgers' (back) availability for Thursday's preseason game against the Raiders in Winnipeg has yet to be determined, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers indicated Monday that he no longer has any issues with the back, so there's a chance he will make an appearance Thursday. Even if he does, there's a good chance it wouldn't last beyond a few series as he looks to preserve his good health for the start of the regular season.
Aug 19, 2019
Limited during practice
Rodgers (back) was limited during Monday's practice and did not suit up with the first team, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was held out of practice over the weekend due to back tightness, after having been a late scratch for last Thursday's preseason game against the Ravens. The veteran signal-caller returned to practice Monday and appears to have participated in a limited capacity as the Packers take a cautious approach to his recovery. Though Rodgers is on track to suit up for Thursday's preseason tilt against the Raiders, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, the extent of his participation throughout the week will be worth monitoring.
Aug 19, 2019
Returns to practice
Rodgers (back) returned to practice Monday, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
A late scratch for Thursday's preseason loss to Baltimore, the 35-year-old quarterback then was held out of practice over the weekend. His return Monday supports a statement from GM Brian Gutekunst, who said Rodgers is expected to play in Thursday's exhibition against the Raiders. Coach Matt LaFleur suggested Rodgers would've played through the back tightness last week if it had been the regular season instead of the preseason.
Aug 19, 2019
Hopeful for appearance Thursday
GM Brian Gutekunst said Rodgers (back) is slated to play in Thursday's preseason contest against the Raiders in Winnipeg, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was a late scratch for last Thursday's exhibition due to back tightness, and the absence extended into Sunday's practice, per Demovsky. After the session, coach Matt LaFleur wasn't too worried about Rodgers, stating the Packers likely wouldn't be taking a cautious approach if the regular season was ongoing. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that would be the case," LaFleur said. "I think even the other night ... but with it being the preseason, it wasn't worth it." If Rodgers doesn't get to run the offense in a game before Week 1, he'll be doing so for the first time in the opener at Chicago.
Aug 16, 2019
May practice Sunday
Coach Matt LaFleur expects Rodgers (back) to practice Sunday, Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodgers was a late scratch for Thursday's preseason game at Baltimore as a precautionary measure due to back tightness. If the issue persists, there's a chance he won't be on the practice field Sunday with an eye toward ensuring his health for the regular season. As for the rest of exhibition season, Rodgers' next chance to suit up comes Thursday against the Raiders in Winnipeg.
