Joins Denver's practice squad
Perry signed with the Broncos' practice squad Wednesday, Mike Klis of Denver 9 News reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry was waived during final cuts Tuesday but will stay with the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. He could be the next man up should any of the five wide receivers on Denver's 53-man roster get hurt.
Aug 26, 2025
Cut by Denver
The Broncos waived Perry on Tuesday, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry spent the first few weeks of training camp on the active/PUP list, so he was already behind the curve in terms of winning a roster spot. After missing the first two preseason games, Perry logged 10 offensive snaps in the exhibition finale but failed to catch his only target.
Aug 12, 2025
Activated from PUP list
The Broncos activated Perry (undisclosed) from the active/PUP list Tuesday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry missed the first three-plus weeks of camp with an undisclosed injury, but he passed his physical Tuesday and can practice. With Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, Devaughn Vele, Troy Franklin and rookie Pat Bryant entrenched on the depth chart, Perry is behind the eight ball in the competition for a roster spot.
Jul 20, 2025
Placed on PUP list
Perry (undisclosed) was placed on the active/PUP list by the Broncos on Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry will open Denver's training camp on the sidelines with an undisclosed injury after signing a reserve/future contract with the team in January. The wide receiver is eligible to return to practice and play at any point during the preseason.
Jan 13, 2025
Staying in Denver
The Broncos signed Perry to a reserve/future contract Monday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry made the Saints' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he didn't play due to various injuries before being waived by New Orleans in early October. He was signed to the Broncos' practice squad Oct. 8, but he wasn't elevated to Denver's active roster during the regular season. The 2023 sixth-rounder out of Wake Forest will participate in OTAs and training camp with the Broncos and work to earn a spot on the active roster for the 2025 campaign.

Signed to Broncos' practice squad
Perry (hamstring) was signed to the Broncos' practice squad Tuesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry was waived by the Saints on Friday and he has now quickly found his next opportunity in Denver. The wide receiver has been dealing with a hamstring recently, but it appears as if the injury isn't significant enough to dissuade the Broncos from bringing him in. Perry has yet to appear in a game this season, but he caught 12 of 18 targets for 246 yards and four touchdowns over 10 games with New Orleans in 2023.
Oct 5, 2024
Could be brought back by NOLA
Head coach Dennis Allen said Saturday that the Saints would be interested in bringing Perry (hamstring) back on the practice squad, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry has been a healthy scratch or ruled out with illness or injury over the first four games of the regular season, and he was waived by the Saints on Friday. The 2023 sixth-round pick could get picked up by a team off the wire, but if he clears waivers, there appears to be some interest for him to stick around on the Saints' practice squad. In his rookie year, Perry caught 12 passes (on 18 targets) for 246 yards and four touchdowns across 10 regular-season games.
Oct 4, 2024
Waived by Saints
The Saints waived Perry (hamstring) on Friday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
A 2023 sixth-round pick, Perry generated some fantasy interest after scoring three touchdowns over the final three weeks of last season. He then failed to earn a top-three role this summer, and he's either been a healthy scratch or ruled out due to illness/injury each week this season. He's currently recovering from a hamstring injury, although his limited participation in Thursday's practice suggests it may not be long before he's healthy. The bigger question for now is whether another team will claim Perry on waivers. If not, he'll become a free agent and can sign with any team (likely on a practice squad).
Sep 27, 2024
Ruled out for Week 4
Perry (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Falcons, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry suffered a hamstring injury at practice this week, ultimately sitting out the team's final two sessions before being ruled out. With Chris Olave (hamstring) and Alvin Kamara (ribs) also considered questionable to play, Rashid Shaheed and Taysom Hill stick out as two playmakers who'd potentially step into larger roles.
Sep 26, 2024
Doesn't practice Thursday
Perry (hamstring) did not participate in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Perry practiced in full Wednesday, but it appears he is dealing with a hamstring injury severe enough to keep him out of Thursday's session. Perry will have one more shot at practicing Friday ahead of the Saints' Week 4 game against the Falcons on Sunday.
Sep 25, 2024
Appears to be past illness
Perry (illness) was not listed on the Saints' injury report Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Perry has yet to appear in a regular-season game this year, with an illness keeping him out of the Saints' Week 3 loss to the Eagles. The 2023 sixth-round pick was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, indicating that he's fully recovered from his ailment.
Sep 22, 2024
Sitting out Sunday
Perry (illness) is inactive Sunday against the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Perry was considered a healthy scratch in Week 2, although he dealt with a hand injury earlier in the week. Now, after being limited during practice this week due to an illness, he'll be inactive once again. His next opportunity to play will be in Week 4 against the Falcons.
Sep 20, 2024
Draws questionable tag
Perry (illness) was a full participant in Friday's practice and is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against Philadelphia, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry popped up on the Saints' injury report Thursday with an illness that limited his participation in practice. His ability to practice in full Friday suggests that the 2023 sixth-round pick is trending towards being available for Sunday's game.
Sep 19, 2024
Dealing with illness
Perry (illness) was limited in Thursday's practice session.
ANALYSIS
Perry was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, but he now appears to be dealing with an illness. Friday's injury report should give a better indication of Perry's status for Week 3 against the Eagles. The 2023 sixth-round pick has yet to appear in a regular-season game this year.
Sep 15, 2024
Healthy scratch Sunday
Perry (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
The wide receiver missed Week 1 with a hand injury but returned to practice this week. Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed are entrenched as New Orleans' starters with Cedrick Wilson, Bub Means, Mason Tipton and Perry competing for snaps behind them. Perry caught 12 passes for 246 yards and four scores as a rookie in 2023.
Sep 11, 2024
Full practice Wednesday
Perry (hand) practiced in full Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Perry didn't play Week 1 against the Panthers after sitting out practice last Thursday and Friday due to a hand injury. The issue isn't impacting his on-field reps this week, though, indicating he's good to go for Sunday's visit to the Cowboys. Perry thus will be in consideration for WR reps alongside Cedrick Wilson behind starters Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed.
Sep 8, 2024
Sitting out Sunday
Perry (hand) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry wasn't included on the Saints' first Week 1 injury report Wednesday, but a hand injury kept him out of drills entirely the next two days, resulting in a questionable designation ahead of the weekend. Per Hendrix, Perry wasn't seen during warmups, which signaled that he may not be available, and such an outcome has come to pass. With Perry sidelined, Cedrick Wilson should be the primary No. 3 WR for New Orleans behind starters Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed.
Sep 6, 2024
Listed as questionable
Perry (hand) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Carolina, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry wasn't listed on the injury report Wednesday but then missed practice Thursday and Friday. It's unclear if his absence would significantly impact the Saints' plans on offense, as Cedrick Wilson may have been positioned for the No. 3 receiver role in any case. The distribution of WR snaps and targets beyond Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed remains uncertain heading into Sunday's home game against Carolina.
Sep 6, 2024
Not practicing
Perry (hand) didn't practice Friday, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry was added to the injury report Thursday as a non-participant. The consecutive absences suggest he's in real danger of missing Sunday's game against the Panthers, in which case Cedrick Wilson, Bub Means and/or Mason Tipton could play more snaps than previously expected. Either way, Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed remain runaway favorites to get the most snaps and targets.
Sep 5, 2024
DNP due to hand injury
Perry didn't practice Thursday due to a hand injury, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry is making a sudden appearance on the Saints' Week 1 practice report, making his status worthwhile to follow in advance of the weekend. Ultimately, his listing on Friday's report will give a sense of his potential to play Sunday against the Panthers. Perry put together an impressive preseason, leading the entire NFL with 176 receiving yards and putting himself in a position to be a regular wide receiver in New Orleans' offense in 2024.
Aug 25, 2024
Two long catches Sunday
Perry caught two of four targets for 67 yards in Sunday's 30-27 preseason loss to the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Perry's contributions in the preseason finale went beyond what ended up in the box score, as he also had an 18-yard touchdown nullified by a holding penalty in the third quarter, had an 11-yard catch overturned on a challenge in the first quarter and drew a 21-yard pass interference penalty in the fourth. His two receptions that counted went for 24 and 43 yards, with one pass apiece coming from Jake Haener and Spencer Rattler. Perry's ability to stretch the field could earn the 2023 sixth-round draft pick meaningful playing time, especially if Rashid Shaheed (toe/foot) isn't fully healthy by the time the Saints begin the regular season Sept. 8 against the Panthers.
Aug 19, 2024
Targeted six times Sunday
Perry (ankle) had two receptions (on six targets) for 24 yards in Sunday's 16-10 loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Perry's numbers didn't jump off the scoreboard, but it was a positive sign to see the receiver back in action after suffering an ankle injury in the Saints' preseason opener. The sophomore will look to build on the momentum of racking up 109 receiving yards over New Orleans' first two preseason games.
Aug 18, 2024
In uniform against 49ers
Perry (ankle) is dressed for Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry injured his ankle in practice Tuesday but has made a prompt recovery and will play in the Saints' second preseason game Sunday. The 2023 sixth-round draft pick will look to build on his strong performance in the preseason opener, during which he racked up 85 receiving yards against the Cardinals.
Aug 16, 2024
Returns as limited participant
Perry (ankle) practiced on a limited basis Friday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry left Tuesday's practice early with an ankle injury, but he's already managed to return in a limited capacity. The second-year pro will work to gain clearance in time for Saturday's exhibition contest against the 49ers. With No. 2 receiver Rasheed Shaheed (toe/foot) sidelined Friday due to what seems like a new injury, Perry could get a chance to handle increased first-team reps once fully healthy.
Aug 13, 2024
Suffers ankle injury
Perry made an early departure from Tuesday's practice due to an ankle injury, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry left the field with athletic trainers, after which coach Dennis Allen clarified the nature of the second-year pro's health concern. The Saints' receiving corps is banged-up at the moment, but all of Rashid Shaheed (hamstring), Equanimeous St. Brown (hamstring) and Bub Means (undisclosed) returned to drills Tuesday in red non-contract jerseys, indicating the trio collectively is making progress. It's unclear whether or not the current issue may impact Perry's ability to put on an encore to his 4-85-0 receiving line from this past Saturday at Arizona in New Orleans' next exhibition Sunday in San Francisco.
Aug 11, 2024
Stars in preseason opener
Perry caught all four of his targets for 85 yards during Saturday's 16-14 presason victory over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Perry turned in a really solid outing as the Saints' leading receiver in yards, catches and targets Saturday. The 2023 sixth-round pick's biggest highlight came just before halftime when he got behind Arizona's secondary before hauling in a 58-yard heave down the left the sideline from backup quarterback Jack Haener. While Perry stepped out of bounds just shy of the red zone, this catch set up the team up for a 33-yard field goal as time expired in the first half. His overall performance is an encouraging sign for Perry after head coach Dennis Allen said at the end of July that he needed to see more from the young wideout this training camp. Also, three of his biggest competitors for snaps this preseason -- Equanimeous St. Brown (hamstring), Mason Tipton (hamstring) and Bub Means -- all did not play during Saturday's preseason opener.
Jul 30, 2024
Slow start to camp
Coach Dennis Allen said the Saints are still waiting on Perry to step up and make some plays this summer, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen's assessment was less than glowing, to put it nicely. He said Perry has been "fine" during training camp and is "talented enough to make the team" but needs to show it more often on the practice field. There's been some thought Perry could step in as a regular starter for the receiver-needy Saints after his late-season cameo as a rookie, but this makes it sound like he's fighting for a roster spot more so than steady snaps. Cedrick Wilson, Equanimeous St. Brown, Bub Means and Mason Tipton seem to be the other candidates for WR snaps behind Chris Olave (hip) and Rashid Shaheed.

There's been some thought Perry could step in as a regular starter for the receiver-needy Saints after his late-season cameo as a rookie in 2023, but Allen's comments make it sound like he's fighting for a roster spot. Cedrick Wilson, Equanimeous St. Brown, Bub Means and Mason Tipton are the other main candidates for snaps behind starters Chris Olave (hip) and Rashid Shaheed.

Hauls in two scores Week 18
Perry hauled in all three targets for 53 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 48-17 win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Perry ended his rookie campaign with his third and fourth receiving scores of the season. The 6-foot-4 wideout out of Wake Forest first caught a touchdown in tight coverage up the left sideline for an 18-yard touchdown that got the Saints on the board in the first quarter. He then scored the team's second-to-last touchdown when he got open in the right corner of the endzone for a six-yard score. Perry also caught a curial 29-yard pass on third down during the the third quarter, thus finishing with a career-high in receiving yards. Across 10 games this season, the sixth-round pick caught 12 of 18 targets for 246 yards and four touchdowns while showing notable playmaking skills on contested catches throughout the year.
Jan 7, 2024
Playing in Week 18
Perry (illness) is listed as active Sunday against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Since Michael Thomas (knee) went down Week 10, Perry has played a more prominent role in the Saints offense, recording at least one catch in seven games in a row. His output (9-193-2 line on 15 targets) during that span has been nothing to write home about, and he's coming off an illness that sidelined him at Thursday's practice. Still, with RB Alvin Kamara (ankle) inactive, Perry now will have to contend with only WRs Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed and TE Juwan Johnson (chest) for looks from QB Derek Carr.
Jan 5, 2024
Listed as questionable despite full practice
Perry (illness) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry was a full participant Friday in his return to practice, suggesting he'll likely play in the crucial Week 18 matchup. He's seen a lot of playing time but not many targets filling in for Michael Thomas (knee) the past month and a half, mostly serving as the fourth or fifth option in a passing game that also features WR Chris Olave, RB Alvin Kamara (ankle), WR Rashid Shaheed and TE Juwan Johnson (chest) as pass catchers for Derek Carr. For their regular-season finale the Saints have three of those guys listed as questionable, with Kamara seemingly in more danger than Perry and Johnson.
Jan 4, 2024
Misses practice Thursday
Perry (illness) did not participate in practice Thursday after not even appearing on the injury report Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The wide receiver's status for Sunday's game against the Falcons is now uncertain. Perry has nine catches for 193 yards and two touchdowns this season, but he has yet to log more than four targets in a game.
Dec 31, 2023
Two targets in big win
Perry totaled one reception (on two targets) for five yards during Sunday's 23-13 win against the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Perry logged two targets during the second quarter, marking his only notable action in Sunday's crucial win for the Saints. The rookie out of Wake Forest has come on somewhat over the second half of the season, but he's still logged more than three targets just one this season. Perry has shown big play ability with two touchdown catches of 20-plus yards this season. However, unless he can find the end zone again Week 18, his fantasy value should remain inconsequential during next Sunday's regular-season finale against Atlanta.
Dec 22, 2023
Hauls in late touchdown pass
Perry caught his only target for 35 yards and one touchdown during Thursday's 30-22 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Perry went unnoticed for the entire night before the Saints made a late comeback that ultimately fell short in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Derek Carr threw a deep pass down the sideline for the 6-foot-4 wideout, and the rookie out of Wake Forest came down with it for a 35-yard touchdown with just under four minutes remaining. This noteworthy highlight still marked what was an underwhelming night for Perry given that he logged just one target despite playing the third-most offensive snaps (36) among New Orleans' wideouts. Instead, Carr was locked in on his top-two wideouts in Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, as these two combined for 14 reception on 22 targets. Tight end Juwan Johnson also served a bigger role with four catches on seven targets. With Michael Thomas (knee) still on IR, it's not a good sign for Perry's fantasy relevancy that he tied with reserve wideout Keith Kirkwood and No. 2 running back Jamaal Williams for the Saints' sixth-most targets Thursday night. It's likely that Perry will play a s
Dec 17, 2023
Grabs two targets Sunday
Perry gathered in both of his targets for 34 yards during Sunday's 24-6 win versus the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Perry took two short passes for explosive catch-and-runs with receptions of 18 and 16 yards Sunday. The rookie wideout has had his workload and playing time increase as of late while Michael Thomas (knee) has been on IR. However, his target share didn't move much even though No. 1 wideout Chris Olave (ankle) was inactive Week 15. Perry has now logged seven receptions (on 12 targets) 154 yards and a touchdown this season - all of which has come across the past five games. While Thomas is now eligible to come off injured reserve, the Saints will have a very short turnaround before playing against the Rams on Thursday Night Football. Thomas' continued absence could continue to lead to increased, though likely marginal, opportunities for Perry in Week 16.
Dec 10, 2023
Catches 44-yard pass in win
Perry caught his only target for 44 yards during Sunday's 28-6 win versus the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Perry recorded the longest reception of his career, hauling in a 44-yard pass from quarterback Derek Carr midway through the fourth quarter. The 6-foot-4 rookie has seen starting reps over the past four games while Michael Thomas has been injured and on IR with a knee injury. The Saints' receiving corps is extremely short-handed with starter Rashid Shaheed (thigh) also inactive for the second game in a row Week 14; yet, Perry's production was still limited, and he's now logged five catches (on 10 targets) for 119 yards over the last four games. The sixth-round pick's most notable impact was when he hauled in a touchdown pass on a broken play in Week 10. Barring any injury to No. 1 wideout Chris Olave, expect Perry's role to remain limited to just a handful of targets when the Saints face the Giants on Sunday, Dec. 17.
Dec 4, 2023
Big gain on one catch
Perry secured one of three targets for 30 yards in the Saints' 33-28 loss to the Lions on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The rookie was expected to enjoy an expanded role with Rashid Shaheed (thigh) sidelined, but Perry finished a distant second in targets behind Chris Olave and Alvin Kamara. Perry now has at least one catch in three straight contests, but he'll project for an even smaller role than Sunday's if Shaheed is ready to return for a Week 14 home matchup against the Panthers.
Nov 27, 2023
Logs two targets in loss
Perry gathered in one of two targets for seven yards during Sunday's 24-15 defeat against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Perry once again saw increased playing time with veteran wideout Michael Thomas (knee) now on injured reserve. The 6-foot-4 rookie played the most offensive snaps (53) of any Saints receiver Sunday, but he still finished in a four-way tie for the team's fifth-most targets. Perry's biggest contribution actually came when he recovered a fumble by quarterback Derek Carr in the third quarter. The Wake Forest product has now totaled six targets while playing over 70 percent of offensive snaps in each of the past two games for New Orleans. Perry should continue to see increased playing time if Chris Olave (concussion) and/or Rashid Shaheed (thigh) are sidelined Week 13 after they were both forced out due to injury versus Atlanta.
Nov 13, 2023
Hauls in first two receptions
Perry accrued two receptions (on four targets) for 38 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 27-19 loss to the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Perry saw the first significant usage of his career, playing 84 percent of New Orleans' offensive snaps while also logging the first four targets of his rookie season. The sixth-round pick was a healthy scratch through the first seven weeks of the season, but he made his NFL debut Week 8 after surpassing Keith Kirkwood in this wideout depth chart. Perry also came through big when he went up and made a contested touchdown catch on a pass thrown all the way back across the field by backup quarterback Jameis Winston, who relieved injured starter Derek Carr (shoulder) late in the second quarter. Perry's usage was likely expanded after starting wideout Michael Thomas was ruled out with a knee injury early on in Sunday's game. The Saints will be on bye Week 11, so it will be worth monitoring Thomas' injury status when determining what, if any, value Perry may have in the Week 12 contest against Atlanta.
Oct 15, 2023
Inactive again
Perry (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Despite making the Saints' initial 53-man roster, Perry has yet to see the field this season. The rookie sixth-round pick is currently behind Chris Olave, Michael Thomas, Rashid Shaheed, Keith Kirkwood and Lynn Bowden on the wideout depth chart.
Sep 10, 2023
Inactive Sunday
Perry (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against Tennessee, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2023 sixth-round pick out of Wake Forest did enough to make the Saints' active roster but won't be suiting up Sunday. Perry's next opportunity to see the field will be Week 2 against the Panthers.
Aug 28, 2023
Gets more run in preseason finale
Perry caught three of his four targets for 12 yards in Sunday's preseason finale against Houston.
ANALYSIS
Perry added three more receptions to his busy preseason, but the rookie wideout was unable to break off any big plays for the second straight game after his impressive exhibition debut (6-70-1 on Aug. 14). Chris Olave and Michael Thomas are expected to start alongside new quarterback Derek Carr once the regular season kicks off, but Perry may have shown enough this exhibition season to earn a spot on the Saints' final roster. The 23-year-old's roster bid would increase should either Rashid Shaheed (groin) or Tre'Quan Smith (groin) be forced to miss Week 1, but neither injury is currently considered long term.
Aug 20, 2023
Three grabs Sunday
Perry caught three of five targets for 22 yards in Sunday's preseason win over the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
The 2023 sixth-round pick out of Wake Forest couldn't follow up his huge showing in the Saints' preseason opener, with his longest catch going for only nine yards. Perry remains in a fight for a depth spot in the receiving corps, but he did get the start Sunday with New Orleans resting all its regular skill players, and he was on the other end of Jameis Winston's first completion. He'll get one more chance to separate himself from the pack in preseason action Aug. 27 against the Texans.
Aug 14, 2023
Leading receiver in preseason debut
Perry caught all six of his targets for 70 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 26-24 preseason win versus the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Perry played all 28 of his offensive snaps during the first half while on the field with backup quarterback Jameis Winston. The 6-foot-3 wideout immediately established a connection with Winston, catching a 14-yard pass to begin the Saints' second offensive series. He followed this with a 29-yard touchdown reception on a deep crosser route three plays later. Starting quarterback Derek Carr also said that Perry was a "featured" piece of the team's game plan even though the rookie sixth round-pick got off to a rough start in training camp, according to Jeff Duncan of NOLA.com. Perry finished as New Orleans' leading receiver during his preseason debut, and this strong performance should go a long way toward his chances to make New Orleans' final 53-man roster.
Jul 26, 2023
Passes physical Wednesday
Perry (undisclosed) passed a physical Wednesday and came off the active/non-football injury list, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Perry spent a little more than a week on the NFI list due to an unknown injury, but he'll now progress to on-field reps with training camp in session. A 2023 sixth-round pick of the Saints, he was a TD machine at the tail end of his collegiate career, hauling in 26 scores in his last 27 games at Wake Forest.
Jul 18, 2023
Hits NFI list
The Saints placed Perry (undisclosed) on the active/non-football injury list Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
A sixth-round pick by New Orleans in this year's draft, Perry will begin training camp on the sideline as he deals with an unknown injury. Once he's healthy enough to get on the field, he'll bring his 6-foot-4, 198-pound frame and 26 touchdowns in his final 27 games at Wake Forest to the pro ranks.
Apr 29, 2023
Taken by New Orleans in sixth round
The Saints selected Perry in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 195th overall.
ANALYSIS
Perry is a bit thin at 6-foot-4, 198 pounds and with that comes concern about whether he can handle the physicality of the NFL, but Perry was extremely productive at Wake Forest (152 receptions for 2,389 and 26 touchdowns in his last 27 games) and he might have the right athletic traits to be a tough situational matchup for defenses. More specifically, Perry seems almost unnaturally flexible and agile for someone of his height, meaning he can look smaller when he needs to and start/stop/change direction more like someone 5-foot-11 when it suits him. That matters because if Perry is elusive enough then he can win the ball by creating separation rather than physically dominating at the catch point. He's someone to keep an eye on, even if he's a long shot.
