Ready to rock
Schwesinger (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Titans, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
Schwesinger was able to upgrade to full participation in practice Friday, just in time to dodge injury designation for Sunday's contest. The linebacker has been consistently playing through the ankle injury he likely sustained against the Raiders in Week 12, and this week seems to be no different. The rookie second-rounder is the green dot of the defense, so the Browns maintaining a consistent signal caller for Week 14 should have a large impact on defensive ability.

Limited again by ankle
Schwesinger (ankle) was limited at Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Schwesinger was limited for a second consecutive practice, presumably with the same ankle injury that the rookie linebacker dealt with last week. He's been limited during practices with ankle or shoulder injuries the last month, but Schwesinger logged double-digit tackles in four straight contests. That four-game stretch influential in him being named the Defensive Rookie of the Month for November, per Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site.

Limited Wednesday due to ankle issue
Schwesinger (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Schwesinger produced double-digit tackles for the fourth straight week against the 49ers on Sunday, but he also suffered an ankle injury during the loss. It's promising that he was able to practice Wednesday, albeit in a limited fashion, and the rookie linebacker will have two more days this week to return to full participation. In the event Schwesinger isn't able to suit up Sunday versus Tennessee, Jerome Baker could step into a more prominent role.

Schwesinger recorded a team-high 10 tackles in Sunday's 26-8 loss to the 49ers in Week 13.
ANALYSIS
Schwesinger dealt with an ankle injury during the week of preparation leading up to Week 13, but as was the case whenever he's popped up an injury report, the rookie linebacker was ready to go. Schwesinger saw some limited practice reps earlier in the week but is good to go for Week 13. The rookie linebacker has appeared in all 11 games this season, recording 96 tackles (44 solo), including 1.5 sacks, and two pass breakups, both of which resulted in interceptions.

Limited at practice
Schwesinger (ankle) logged a limited practice Wednesday, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Schwesinger led the team in takedowns in Cleveland's 24-10 win over the Raiders in Week 12, notching 11 total tackles in the contest, but he may have suffered an ankle injury in the process. The linebacker played 96 percent of the team's defensive snaps versus Las Vegas, which may suggest that the ankle injury is minor. Schwesinger will have two more chances to notch a full practice before Sunday's matchup with San Francisco.

Leads club in tackles
Schwesinger recorded 11 tackles, including one for a loss and one on special teams, in Sunday's 24-10 win over Las Vegas in Week 12.
ANALYSIS
Schwesinger recorded double-digit tackles and led the Browns in that category for a third consecutive game. That upped his season total to a team-leading 96 stops through 11 contests. After popping up on the injury report the previous two weeks, the rookie linebacker was a full participant in every practice this past week.

Logs pick in loss
Schwesinger recorded a team-high 11 tackles, one pass defensed and an interception in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Ravens in Week 11.
ANALYSIS
Schwesinger led the Browns in tackles for a second consecutive game and came up big with a pick after Cleveland had turned the ball over deep in its own territory. The rookie linebacker, who popped up on the injury report each of the last two weeks, played every snap on the defense for a second straight game. He leads the team with 85 tackles and is tied for the team lead with two interceptions.
Nov 14, 2025
Good to go
Schwesinger (shoulder) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Ravens, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
ANALYSIS
The starting middle linebacker logged a week of limited practice sessions, enough to be cleared of the shoulder injury he likely sustained in the Browns' Week 10 loss to the Jets. Schwesinger logged a team-high nine tackles, including .5 sacks, through 100 percent of the team's defensive snaps in the loss. As the wearer of the defensive green dot, the Browns will need the rookie's prowess and communication for a tough AFC North showdown with the Ravens on Sunday.

Nursing shoulder injury
Schwesinger was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a shoulder injury, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Schwesinger overcame an ankle injury to play in the Browns' Week 10 loss to the Jets, when he logged a team-high nine tackles, including 0.5 sacks, while playing every single defensive snap. He now appears to be working through a shoulder issue, though his ability to practice Wednesday in a limited capacity indicates the injury isn't serious. The rookie second-rounder would avoid an injury designation heading into Sunday's AFC North tilt against the Ravens if he were to practice in full Thursday or Friday.
Nov 10, 2025
Leading tackler in loss
Schwesinger recorded nine tackles, two for a loss, two quarterback hits and .5 sacks in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Jets in Week 10.
ANALYSIS
Schwesinger battled an ankle injury that he sustained against the Patriots in Week 8, but the rookie was able to play 100 percent of the defensive snaps and led the club in tackles. He also took a regular turn on special teams, adding a tackle on the kickoff team. Schwesinger leads Cleveland with 74 tackles through nine games.
Nov 9, 2025
Active Sunday
Schwesinger (ankle) is active for Sunday's matchup with the Jets.
ANALYSIS
The rookie middle linebacker suffered a high ankle sprain during the Browns' Week 8 loss to the Patriots and then missed two practice sessions following the team's Week 9 bye. At the same time, the injury was never believed to be "major," per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Schwesinger has enjoyed a strong rookie season, with 64 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and one interception.
Nov 7, 2025
Questionable for Sunday
Schwesinger (ankle) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Jets, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie from UCLA didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday due to an ankle injury, but he's still got a chance to suit up in Week 10. Schwesinger has had an impressive start to his rookie campaign, recording 64 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and one interception across eight contests. If he's held out Sunday, Jerome Baker is expected to have an expanded role in the Browns' linebacker corps.

Remains sidelined Thursday
Schwesinger (ankle) isn't practicing Thursday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
ANALYSIS
Schwesinger is still recovering from a high-ankle sprain sustained against the Patriots in Week 8. If the rookie linebacker sits out Sunday against the Jets, Jerome Baker or Easton Macarenas-Arnold could get more opportunities in Cleveland's banged-up linebacking corps.

Misses Wednesday's practice
Schwesinger (ankle) won't practice Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie linebacker from UCLA sustained a high-ankle sprain in the Browns' Week 8 loss to the Patriots, so it's no surprise he's sidelined following the team's Week 9 bye. Although Schwesinger's injury isn't considered to be "major," he'll likely be held out of the Week 10 matchup against the Jets unless he can upgrade to at least a limited practice session Thursday or Friday.

Sustains high-ankle sprain
Schwesinger sustained a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's 32-13 loss to the Patriots, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 22-year-old played 66 total snaps (57 on defense, nine on special teams) and recorded five total tackles and an interception prior to exiting Sunday's loss with an ankle issue. Although Schwesinger sustained a high-ankle sprain, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network revealed that it's not believed to be "major," and he'll be reevaluated following Cleveland's Week 9 bye. The rookie linebacker has been an integral part of the Browns' defense thus far, recording a team-leading 64 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and one interception over his first eight NFL games. Mohamoud Diabate and Jerome Baker will both likely have expanded defensive roles if Schwesigner misses time. Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports that the rookie is expected to avoid a stint on IR.

Hurts ankle, slated for MRI
Schwesinger injured his ankle during Sunday's Week 8 loss to New England and is slated for an MRI, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Schwesinger was hurt midway through the fourth quarter and didn't return. He had a nice game before getting injured, tallying five tackles and an interception. The results of Schwesinger's MRI should provide some clarity about whether he's at risk of missing time. However, Cleveland has a Week 9 bye, so Schwesinger will have some extra time to recover before the Browns' next game, which will take place Sunday, Nov. 9 against the Jets.

The rookie second-rounder leads the Browns with 59 total tackles through seven regular-season games, which is tied with Alex Singleton and Quay Walker for 10th most in the NFL.
Oct 13, 2025
Another active game in loss
Schwesinger recorded eight tackles, including one for a loss, and one quarterback hit in Sunday's 23-9 loss to the Steelers in Week 6.

Oct 5, 2025
Leads Cleveland with 11 tackles
Schwesinger logged 11 tackles (two solo) during the Browns' 21-17 loss to the Vikings on Sunday.

ANALYSIS
Through his first two career NFL games, the second-round rookie linebacker has logged 13 tackles (five solo), including one TFL, and one QB hit on 97 percent of the Browns' defensive snaps. Schwesinger should see plenty of action in the middle of the field against the Packers in Week 3.
Sep 8, 2025
Eight tackles in NFL debut
Schwesinger logged eight tackles (three solo) during the Browns' 17-16 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Schwesinger was all over the field in his NFL regular-season debut, finishing as the Browns' leading tackler while playing all 52 defensive snaps. His last tackle on Chase Brown late in the fourth quarter resulted in a five-yard loss that led to the Bengals punting the ball away two plays later. Schwesinger was the Browns' second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and the UCLA product figures to see a heavy workload in his first season.

Primed for big role as rookie
Schwesinger called defensive plays in team drills on the first day of training camp, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Drafted 33rd overall this spring, Schwesinger is in excellent position for a starting job after the Browns lost their top two linebackers from last year. The team ruled out Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (neck) for all of 2025 in May, with Jordan Hicks then announcing his retirement Friday. Schwesinger, Jerome Baker, Mohamoud Diabate and Devin Bush are now the leading candidates to start at linebacker in Jim Schwartz's 4-3 defense.
Apr 25, 2025
Selected by Browns in Round 2
The Browns selected Schwesinger in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 33rd overall.
ANALYSIS
Schwesinger (6-foot-3, 242 pounds) is an athletic linebacker from UCLA who piled up 136 tackles in 2024. The Browns already have one standout linebacker in Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (neck) but not much aside from him, so the addition of Schwesinger could give the Browns two standout linebackers capable of playing in all phases between run defense, pass rush and coverage. His selection could also mean the Browns may be concerned about Owusu-Koramoah's ability to begin (or even play in) the 2025 season. Schwesinger should claim a three-down role early on in Cleveland.
