Keep up with the latest injuries from the Titans vs 49ers game on Sunday with our National Football League injury report.Dec 7, 2025
Two catches in win
Okonkwo caught both of his targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 31-29 win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo was once again relatively quiet in Week 14, recording his lowest catch total since Week 9 while failing to reach the end zone for the 13th game in a row. The tight end has been displaced as the team's top option at his position by rookie Gunnar Helm, greatly limiting his upside from a fantasy perspective. Okonkwo will look to score his first touchdown of the year in Week 15 against the 49ers.
Nov 30, 2025
Leads team in yardage
Okonkwo recorded four receptions on five targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 25-3 loss to the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo has been out-targeted by rookie tight end Gunnar Helm for the last two weeks, but he's still maintained a key role in the Tennessee offense. Okonkwo led the Titans in receiving yards -- albeit with a modest total -- thanks to a pair of catches on Tennessee's opening drive that went for a combined 22 yards. He now has at least three receptions in three straight games since the team's bye, topping 40 yards on two occasions in that span.

Suiting up for Week 13
Okonkwo (foot) is active for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo has been on the injury report with a foot issue for the past month, but he's rarely entered the weekend with an injury designation. While he was listed as questionable to suit up, Okonkwo is in line to play against Jacksonville. While Gunnar Helm has started to earn more targets, Okonkwo has still been on the field for at least 60 percent of offensive snaps in five consecutive contests.
Nov 29, 2025
In line to play Sunday
Okonkwo, who is officially questionable for Sunday's Week 13 game against Jacksonville due to a foot injury, is expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo has been dealing with a foot issue since late October, but it hasn't yet caused him to miss any games. It appears that will be the case again Week 13 after the tight end logged an LP/DNP/LP practice progression this week. Okonkwo and Gunnar Helm have logged near-identical offensive snap counts each of the past two weeks, so it wouldn't be surprising for that trend to continue Sunday.
Nov 28, 2025
Questionable for Week 13
Okonkwo (foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo got in a limited practice Friday following Thursday's DNP, giving the tight end a chance to suit up against Jacksonville. If Okonkwo is unable to play, rookie Gunnar Helm would seem to be in line for more snaps on offense. Okonkwo has a scoreless 35-377-0 receiving line on 46 targets this season.
Nov 27, 2025
Downgrades to non-participant
Okonkwo (foot) did not practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo has played through a foot injury without missing a single game since late October, but his status will now need to be closely monitored ahead of Sunday's game against the Jaguars. The fourth-year pro turned in his usual limited activity level Wednesday, and he may have to resume handling similar reps at Friday's practice in order to be cleared for Week 13. Rookie tight end Gunnar Helm will benefit from increased opportunities if Okonkwo misses any time.
Nov 26, 2025
Limited in practice Wednesday
Okonkwo (foot) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo has regularly played through his lingering foot injury as of late, so as long as he maintains at least a limited participation level at practice there will be no genuine cause for concern about his availability for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. He logged three limited practices Week 12 but wasn't assigned an injury designation heading into Tennessee's loss to the Seahawks, in which he secured three of four targets for 40 yards.
Nov 23, 2025
Tallies 40 yards in Week 12 loss
Okonkwo caught three passes (on four targets) for 40 yards during the Titans' 30-24 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo was cleared to play Sunday after working through a foot injury during Week 12 prep. He was one of four Titans pass catchers to log at least 40 receiving yards, though notably, he was outproduced by rookie tight end Gunnar Helm, the latter of whom led Tennessee with six catches for 51 yards while tying Chimere Dike for a team-high seven targets. Okonkwo has caught at least three passes in three of his last four games, and for the year he has accumulated 35 catches (on 46 targets) for 377 yards and zero touchdowns across 11 regular-season games. Next up for the Titans is a Week 13 clash against the Jaguars, whose defense yielded a 9-79-0 line (on 10 targets) to Trey McBride in an overtime win over the Cardinals on Sunday.
Nov 21, 2025
Cleared to face Seahawks
Okonkwo (foot) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo was limited in all three of Seattle's practices during the week but has the green light to suit up Sunday. He has 119 receiving yards on 12 targets over the past four games, while rookie fourth-round pick Gunnar Helm has 103 yards and a touchdown on 14 targets during that span. Both Titans tight ends could see substantial involvement Sunday with the team depleted at wide receiver against a Seahawks defense that's allowing a league-high 6.7 receptions per game to tight ends.
Nov 20, 2025
Another limited practice
Okonkwo (foot) was limited in practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo managed to play through his foot injury Week 11 without being tagged with an injury designation, so as long as he's able to log at least another limited session Friday, he will have strong odds of being cleared for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. Across 10 regular-season appearances so far, Okonkwo has secured 32 of 42 targets for 337 receiving yards, but he's still looking for his first touchdown of 2025.
Nov 19, 2025
Logs limited practice Wednesday
Okonkwo (foot) was limited in practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo continues to manage a foot issue that limited him at practice last week, but the tight end approached Week 11 action without an injury designation before catching all three of his targets for 56 yards in this past Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Texans. With no reported setbacks in the contest, Okonkwo's listed limitations Wednesday are likely maintenance-related.
Nov 16, 2025
Three catches in loss
Okonkwo caught all three of his targets for 56 yards in Sunday's 16-13 loss to Houston.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo led the way for his team with 56 receiving yards, which was his highest total since Week 3. The tight end has now registered multiple receptions in three straight contests and eight of 10 games overall this season, but he has still yet to find the end zone. Okonkwo will look to find paydirt in Week 12 against the Seahawks.
Nov 14, 2025
Cleared to face Texans
Okonkwo (foot) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Texans, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo was limited in all three of Tennessee's practices coming out of a Week 10 bye, but his status for Sunday's game isn't in doubt. Rookie fourth-round pick Gunnar Helm has been pushing Okonkwo for playing time, and the Titans may generally struggle to move the ball against a Houston defense that's allowing a league-low 16.7 points per game.
Nov 13, 2025
Limited in practice again
Okonkwo (foot) was limited in practice Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo has been limited in each of Tennessee's first practices of Week 11, meaning Friday will be his final opportunity to upgrade his activity level. As long as Okonkwo is able to again handle at least limited reps Friday, though, it stands to reason he'll be able to play through his foot injury versus the Texans on Sunday. He toughed out the issue Week 9 versus the Chargers, after which the Titans benefited from a bye.
Nov 12, 2025
Limited in practice Wednesday
Okonkwo (foot) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo managed to play through his foot injury when the Titans last took the field -- Week 9 versus the Chargers -- but resting up during the team's Week 10 bye wasn't enough time for the tight end to get fully healthy. Still, unless he takes a step back and misses practice Thursday and/or Friday, Okonkwo seems likely to be able to play through the injury again Sunday versus Houston. Across nine regular-season appearances so far, Okonkwo has secured 29 of 39 targets for 281 scoreless receiving yards.
Nov 3, 2025
Limited opportunity in loss
Okonkwo recorded two receptions on two targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
The Titans ran only 44 plays and attempted just 21 passes, limiting volume for all of their offensive skill-position players. Okonkwo was one of the affected pass catchers, as he was targeted only twice to match his lowest mark of the season. He remains a key part of the Tennessee offense, but his results are likely to remain inconsistent given the poor state of the unit.
Oct 31, 2025
Cleared to play Sunday
Okonkwo (foot) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo was able to log a full practice Friday. Splitting snaps with Gunnar Helm at tight end, Okonkwo has produced just 27-271-0 receiving through eight games this season. He's not a recommended fantasy target.
Oct 30, 2025
Misses practice Thursday
Okonkwo (foot) didn't participate in practice Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
This is a downgrade for Okonkwo after he logged a limited practice session Wednesday. The severity of his foot issue isn't clear, but it's concerning that the fourth-year tight end was held out entirely in the penultimate practice of the week. If Okonkwo can't play Sunday versus the Chargers, Gunnar Helm could start at tight end for Tennessee.
Oct 29, 2025
Logs limited practice
Okonkwo (foot) was limited in practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo put together a solid performance during Tennessee's loss to the Colts in Week 8, securing four of five targets for 53 yards, but he appears to have picked up a foot injury in the process. The starting tight end will have two more chances to upgrade to full practice reps ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Chargers. If Okonkwo is limited in any capacity versus Los Angeles, or even unavailable, rookie fourth-round pick Gunnar Helm will stand to see a notable uptick in opportunities.
Oct 27, 2025
Bounces back against Colts
Okonkwo recorded four receptions on five targets for 53 yards in Sunday's 38-14 loss to the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo bounced back from a surprising catchless performance in Week 7 to make a pair of deep catches that went for 23 and 18 yards. Even as Gunnar Helm has emerged in the Tennessee offense, Okonkwo's role has remained stable as he has at least five targets in three of the team's last four games. He's also produced at least 45 yards in all three of those contests, giving him a surprisingly competent baseline level of production given the state of the Titans' offense.
Oct 21, 2025
No catches in blowout loss
Okonkwo recorded zero receptions on two targets in Sunday's 31-13 loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo maintained his typical allotment of snaps, as he was on the field for 61 percent of offensive plays. However, his role as a pass catcher was diminished relative to Gunnar Helm, who was the far superior receiver in the loss. Okonkwo has at least four catches in four of seven games this season, so this performance was likely an anamoly.
Oct 12, 2025
Strong PPR results Sudnay
Okonkwo finished with six receptions on as many targets for 46 yards in Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo's six targets Sunday tied his previous season high, while the six grabs set a new high-water mark through six starts. Aside from a one-catch dud in Week 4, the veteran tight end has carved out a consistent role in the passing game. Okonkwo will carry a 23-218-0 receiving line into next Sunday's tilt against the Patriots.
Oct 7, 2025
Solid showing against Arizona
Okonkwo recorded four receptions on five targets for 48 yards in Sunday's 22-21 win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo remained a relatively steady part of the Tennessee offense, and Sunday's performance marked his third game with at least four catches. His most significant contribution came late in the fourth quarter on a 16-yard catch that helped push the Titans into field-goal range. Gunnar Helm is pushing for a bigger role in the team's offense, but Okonkwo has still played more than 60 percent of offensive snaps in every game this season.
Sep 30, 2025
Four yards on three targets
Okonkwo recorded one catch on three targets for four yards in Sunday's 26-0 loss to the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Cam Ward's struggles continued, as he completed only 38.5 percent of his passes while passing for 108 yards. No skill-position player on Tennessee's roster was able to excel as a result, and Okonkwo was no exception. He has been among the Titans' most productive pass catchers, so he should return to at least modest production in Week 5 against Arizona.
Sep 22, 2025
Leads Tennessee pass catchers
Okonkwo recorded five receptions on six targets for 66 yards in Sunday's 41-20 loss to the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo paced the Titans in targets, receptions and yards and continues to show rapport with Cam Ward. His longest catch of the day came on the team's opening possession, when he recorded a gain of 22 yards to set up a field goal. Okonkwo now has four catches and six targets in each of his last two games.
Sep 15, 2025
Makes four catches in loss
Okonkwo recorded four receptions on six targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 33-19 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo tied for the team lead with six targets, though he couldn't match Elic Ayomanor or Calvin Ridley in their ability to generate yards. Okonkwo was targeted in short areas of the field, though he did manage a long gain of 14 yards. He may start to lose playing time to Gunnar Helm as the season progresses, but Okonkwo has commanded a solid 10 targets across the first two games of the campaign.
Sep 8, 2025
Three catches in Week 1
Okonkwo recorded three receptions on four targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 20-12 loss to the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo's four targets were good enough for the third-highest mark on the team behind only Calvin Ridley and Elic Ayomanor. His longest gain of the day went for 14 yards, the majority of which came after the catch. The Titans' passing attack struggled to get much traction in Week 1, but Okonkwo was on the field for 88 percent of the offensive snaps, which bodes well for his potential to make an impact moving forward.
Aug 10, 2025
Catches one pass from Ward
Okonkwo caught his only target for 10 yards in Saturday's 29-7 preseason loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo's lone catch came on a pass from rookie first overall pick Cameron Ward, who played two drives. Okonkwo appears to be locked in atop Tennessee's tight end depth chart, ahead of rookie fourth-round pick Gunnar Helm and last year's backup Josh Whyle. Tennessee's starters may see more extensive action in the team's second preseason game Friday against the Falcons.
Jun 20, 2025
Displaying chemistry with Ward
Okonkwo caught the most passes of any player during Tennessee's five open practices of OTAs and mandatory minicamp, and he already appears to have developed a rapport with rookie quarterback Cam Ward, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo's three seasons in the league thus far have been similar, as he's now started slow, finished strong, played all 17 regular-season games and floated around the 500-yard range each year since joining the Titans in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Tennessee added TE Gunnar Helm in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but even with more competition for snaps there's reason for optimism that improved quarterback play from No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward will pave the way for Okonkwo's production finally taking a step forward. The 6-foot-3, 238-pound tight end lacks prototypical size but boasts rare speed and YAC ability for his position. Tennessee doesn't have an entrenched No. 2 option in the passing game behind top wideout Calvin Ridley, as Tyler Lockett, Treylon Burks (ACL) and Van Jefferson a pair of rookie fourth-rounders in Chimere Dikeand Elic Ayomanor close out the wide receiver room. If he continues building momentum during training camp, it's not inconceivable that Okonkwo could secure that
Jan 6, 2025
Limited snaps to close season
Okonkwo was not targeted in Sunday's 23-14 loss to the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo popped up on the injury report Thursday with an abdominal injury and didn't practice at all Friday. While active, he played only three offensive snaps and did not appear on the stat sheet. Even with the sour close to the campaign, Okonkwo emerged late in the season by accruing 38 targets and 28 receptions for 217 yards from Weeks 13-17. With improved quarterback play, Okonkwo could be in line for better results in 2025.
Jan 5, 2025
Suiting up for finale
Okonkwo is active for Sunday's game against the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo popped up on the injury report in the middle of the week, and there was some concern about his status after he failed to practice Friday. However, he'll be set to suit up and has seen increased involvement in the Tennessee offense to close the season, commanding a combined 28 targets across his last three games. With Tyler Boyd (foot) sidelined, Okonkwo should have a better chance of maintaining his elevated role.
Jan 3, 2025
Questionable after Friday 'DNP'
Okonkwo (abdomen) is listed as questionable for Sunday's season finale against the Texans after not practicing Friday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo was added to the Titans' Week 18 injury report after logging a limited practice Thursday, and in the wake of being deemed a non-participant Friday, he'll head into the weekend with a 'questionable' designation. If Okonkwo is limited at all or ruled out for the team's 1:00 ET kickoff, Nick Vannett, Josh Whyle and David Martin-Robinson would be in line to handle added tight end reps in Week 18.
Jan 2, 2025
Limited in Thursday's practice
Okonkwo was a limited participant in Thursday's practice due to an abdominal injury.
ANALYSIS
Tennessee didn't include Okonkwo on its initial Week 18 injury report, so his abdominal injury may have been something that cropped up late in Wednesday's practice or during Thursday's session. The Titans will wait and see what Okonkwo is able to do in their final practice of the week Friday before deciding whether he carries a designation into Sunday's season finale versus the Texans. Though his third NFL season has been a relatively quiet one, Okonkwo has picked up the pace over the last three games, producing a 22-182-0 line on 28 targets while also adding 17 yards on a rushing attempt.
Dec 30, 2024
Remains heavily involved
Okonkwo recorded five receptions on seven targets for 42 yards in Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Jaguars. He added one rush for 17 yards.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo maintained his elevated role in the Tennessee offense and led the team in targets for a third straight game. His longest catch went for 18 yards, but he was otherwise limited to short areas of the field to record his lowest yardage total in that same three-game span. Okonkwo's spike in involvement comes as a surprise given his usage throughout most of his career, but he figures to remain involved in a Week 18 matchup against the Texans.
Dec 22, 2024
Season-best numbers in loss
Okonkwo secured nine of 11 targets for 81 yards in the Titans' 38-30 loss to the Colts on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The talented tight end had already recorded six catches in Week 15 against the Bengals after Mason Rudolph entered that game for an ineffective Will Levis, so Sunday's team-high reception, receiving yardage and target totals weren't completely surprising. However, Okonkwo's numbers were still a significant boon for fantasy managers that might have been rolling with him in their playoff matchups with the hopes of an encore performance, and the third-year pro is clearly a viable tight-end option as long as Rudolph is under center.
Dec 16, 2024
Surprising spike in involvement
Okonkwo recorded eight catches on 10 targets for 59 yards in Sunday's 37-27 loss to the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo was only on the field for 60 percent of offensive snaps, but he was peppered with targets by both Will Levis and Mason Rudolph. As a result, he saw a career-best 10 targets and managed to reach 50 receiving yards for the third time this season. Though this was an outlier performance, Okonkwo has earned at least four targets in three straight games and in seven of his last nine contests.
Dec 9, 2024
Eight yards on three catches
Okonkwo recorded three catches on four targets for eight yards in Sunday's 10-6 loss to the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo remained Tennessee's primary tight end, as he was on the field for 73 percent of offensive snaps while finishing tied for second on the team with four targets. He caught a 10-yard pass early in the second quarter but otherwise failed to make an impact on the game. Okonkwo now has 20 or fewer receiving yards in nine of 13 games on the campaign.
Dec 2, 2024
Season-high six targets
Okonkwo recorded three receptions on six targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 42-19 loss to the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo saw a season-high six targets and matched his highest catch total of the campaign. He was used primarily in the short areas of the field, with his longest gain going for 14 yards. Nevertheless, he surpassed 20 receiving yards in consecutive games for the first time on the campaign.
Nov 25, 2024
Makes most of lone target
Okonkwo recorded one catch on one target for 70 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 32-27 win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo wasn't targeted for the first 50 minutes of game time, but he found open space after a short catch and out-ran the Texans' secondary for a 70-yard game-winning touchdown. That marked Okonwo's first touchdown since Week 1 and is only the second time he's reached 50 yards in a game on the campaign.
Nov 18, 2024
Tallies 19 yards in defeat
Okonkwo recorded two receptions on four targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 23-13 loss to the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo commanded at least four targets for the fourth time in his last five games. He made a limited impact in Sunday's loss, particularly because both of his receptions came on Tennessee's opening drive. Okonkwo has now recorded fewer than 20 receiving yards in eight of 10 games on the campaign.
Nov 11, 2024
Held to one catch
Okonkwo recorded one catch on one target for 14 yards in Sunday's 27-17 loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Will Levis returned under center after a three-game absence, and he failed to get any of Tennessee's tight ends involved. Okonkwo accounted for the position group's only reception while being on the field for only 55 percent of offensive snaps. He's now been held to 15 or fewer receiving yards in three of his last five contests.
Nov 4, 2024
Remains involved
Okonkwo recorded three catches (on four targets) for 38 yards in Sunday's 20-17 overtime win against the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo was on the field for a season-high 74 percent of offensive snaps, and he translated that into a relatively productive performance. He accounted for most of his yardage on a 21-yard gain late in the third quarter, which came off of a double reverse flea-flicker. Okonkwo also dropped a pass in the end zone that resulted in a pick, but his involvement in the offense still has ticked up with Mason Rudolph under center, as he's commanded at least four targets in all three of his starts.
Oct 28, 2024
Sees five targets
Okonkwo recorded two receptions on five targets for 14 yards while losing a fumble in Sunday's 52-14 loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo logged season-high marks in both snap rate and targets. Unfortunately, that didn't translate to much production, as his only positive yardage came in the final minute of the blowout loss. To make matters worse, Okonkwo had several miscues, highlighted by a lost fumble, an offensive pass interference penalty and an interception on one of his targets.
Oct 21, 2024
Leads Titans in receiving yards
Okonkwo recorded four receptions on four targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo has been on the field for at least 55 percent of offensive snaps in four of six games this season, and he had his best game of the season in Sunday's loss while displaying rapport with Mason Rudolph. He accounted for the team's longest play from scrimmage with a 26-yard catch late in the first quarter to account for the majority of his production. If Rudolph remains under center in Week 8 against the Lions, Okonkwo could benefit again, though he had yet to top 16 yards in a game entering Sunday's contest.
Oct 14, 2024
Held to six yards
Okonkwo recorded three receptions on three targets for six yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo has seen a stable role in the Titans' offense, playing at least 29 steps in every game this season with no less than a 38 percent snap rate. He matched a season-high with three catches, though his longest gain of the day went for just five yards. Overall, Okonkwo has failed to top 16 yards in a contest this season.
Oct 2, 2024
One catch in win
Okonkwo recorded one catch on three targets for five yards in Monday's 31-12 win over the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
It was a mixed performance for Okonkwo, as he matched his season high of three targets. However, he managed only one reception for five yards in the blowout victory. While he out-targeted Josh Whyle 3-1, Okonkwo is still an afterthought for fantasy purposes.
Sep 23, 2024
Out-produced by Whyle
Okonkwo recorded two catches on two targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 30-14 loss to the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo narrowly remained Tennessee's primary tight end by snap count. However, he was out-targeted 5-2 by Josh Whyle and has now failed to top 16 receiving yards in three games this season. Okonkwo isn't likely to entirely lose his role, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Whyle continue to be the more productive pass catcher moving forward.
Sep 16, 2024
Three catches against Jets
Okonkwo recorded three receptions on three targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo saw his snap rate dip below 50 percent and narrowly out-produced Josh Whyle. A touchdown propped up Okonkwo's Week 1 stat line, though he now has only 31 yards combined on five catches across two games.
Sep 9, 2024
Still has starting role
Okonkwo recorded two receptions on two targets for 15 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo's role was reportedly in danger due to a challenge from Josh Whyle throughout training camp, though he was on the field for 38 offensive snaps (59 percent). He also accounted for one of the Titans touchdowns on an impressive 17-yard leaping grab in the back of the end zone. Okonkwo still isn't likely to see a significant number of targets on a regular basis, but he remains Tennessee's top tight end and could be a favorite target in the red zone.
Aug 7, 2024
Headed for timeshare?
Coach Brian Callahan said Wednesday that Okonkwo and Josh Whyle are "two very different kind of tight ends" and both will have roles in the Tennessee offense, Buck Reising of 104.5 The Zone reports.
ANALYSIS
Callahan said Whyle is more of a Y tight end (inline) and Okonkwo more of an F (move), which perhaps hints at the latter being more involved than the former as a pass catcher. The team's initial preseason depth chart lists both as starters -- a move that attracted some attention after Whyle played only 156 snaps in 11 games as a rookie last year. Okonkwo, meanwhile, took 692 snaps in 17 games, but he struggled for much of the season before improving late in the year and recording 61 percent of his yardage over the final seven weeks (322 out of 528 yards). His production was also heavily back-weighted during his 2022 rookie campaign, but in that case Okonkwo simply didn't get much playing time early in the year. Callahan's quote makes it sound like another leap forward in playing time is unlikely.
Jan 8, 2024
Modest showing in Week 18
Okonkwo recorded two receptions on three targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 28-20 win over the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
The Titans had a positive game script for much of the contest, which limited passing volume. As a result, Okonkwo had a quiet close to the season. Despite a very inconsistent passing attack in Tennessee, he did manage to take a moderate step forward in his sophomore campaign by tallying 54 receptions for 528 yards and a touchdown. Okonkwo should have a significant role in the offense again in 2024, though his potential volume will ultimately be determined by whether DeAndre Hopkins is back with the team and any subsequent additions the Titans make to their pass-catching corps.
Dec 31, 2023
Three catches Sunday
Okonkwo caught three passes for 34 yards on four targets in Sunday's 26-3 loss to Houston.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo tried to do his part Sunday, but the Titans were clearly overmatched from the start. The matchup was complicated when rookie quarterback Will Levis left the game with a foot injury after just six pass attempts, though replacement Ryan Tannehill was effective enough (16 of 20 for 168 yards passing). Though Okonkwo is a talented and consistently effective player for Tennessee, his lack of opportunity in the Tennessee offense is equally consistent. No matter which quarterback lines up against Jacksonville in Week 18, Okonkwo seems doomed to swimming against the tide in most matchups.
Dec 24, 2023
First touchdown of season
Okonkwo recorded six catches on six targets for 63 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo had his best game of the season from both a reception and yardage perspective, though he has topped 60 yards twice in his last four contests. Sunday's performance was highlighted by a 12-yard touchdown catch -- his first of the year -- as well as long gains of 17 and 14 yards. Okonkwo has lacked explosiveness this season, though his involvement has been consistent as he has at least six targets in three of his last four contests.

Good to go for Sunday
Okonkwo (illness) is active for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo carried a questionable tag into the weekend after he was added to the injury report Friday, when he was unable to practice due to the illness. The tight end has apparently made good progress in his recovery since Friday, and the expectation is that he'll be able to handle his usual workload. However, Okonkwo will be working with a new quarterback for the first time since Week 8, as rookie Will Levis (ankle) is inactive for the contest and will give way to veteran Ryan Tannehill.
Dec 22, 2023
Uncertain to play Sunday
Okonkwo didn't practice Friday due to an illness and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After practicing fully Wednesday and Thursday, Okonkwo sat out Friday's session, so his status will need to be monitored ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Okonkwo is one of three Tennessee tight ends carrying a questionable tag, joining Josh Whyle (knee) and Trevon Wesco (shin).

Posts 36 yards in loss
Okonkwo recorded three catches on three targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 19-16 loss to the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo entered Sunday's game with at least five targets in three straight games, though the Titans stuck to a run-heavy offensive approach. Will Levis attempted only 26 passes, which limited volume for all of the Titans' pass catchers, including Okonkwo. As a result, he was held below 40 yards for the first time since Week 11. The Titans should be forced into a more aggressive approach in a Week 16 matchup against the Seahawks, meaning Okonkwo could find more opportunity.
Dec 12, 2023
Racks up 46 yards
Okonkwo recorded five receptions on six targets for 46 yards in Mondy's 28-27 win over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo continued to see significant involvement in the Tennessee offense, as he now has at least five targets in five of seven games since Will Levis took over as the team's quarterback. Both his longest and most impactful reception came just prior to the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter, when he gained 16 yards to set up Derrick Henry for the game-winning score. Okonkwo has now topped 40 receiving yards in three consecutive games after failing to do so in any of Tennessee's first 10 matchups of the year.
Dec 4, 2023
Continues to see deeper targets
Okonkwo recorded three receptions on six targets for 62 yards in Sunday's 31-28 overtime loss to the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo recorded the Titans' longest play from scrimmage on a 39-yard reception on the game's second play. He was held relatively quiet from that point forward, though he did also manage a 12-yard reception in overtime to set up a go-ahead field goal. After struggling to get looks downfield to start the season, Okoknwo has set his best yardage-total marks for the season in consecutive games.
Nov 27, 2023
Finally gets downfield looks
Okonkwo recorded four receptions on five targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 17-10 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo tallied his highest yardage total of the season, in large part thanks to a 25-yard reception late in the first quarter. That marked only his second reception of more than 20 yards this season. Okonkwo has at least four targets in eight of 11 games this season, so if he starts to see more downfield looks, he could finally deliver on preseason expectations down the stretch of the campaign.
Nov 21, 2023
Disappointing season continues
Okonkwo recorded one reception on two targets for six yards in Sunday's 34-14 loss to the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo saw his lowest target total and production since Week 1, continuing his disappointing 2023 campaign. Though he's tallied at least three catches in seven of 10 games, he has topped 30 receiving yards in a contest only twice.
Nov 14, 2023
Three catches against Bucs
Okonkwo recorded three receptions on six targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 20-6 loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Even with Will Levis under center, the story remains the same for Okonkwo. He has consistent involvement in the offense -- he's earned at least four targets in seven of nine games -- but isn't utilized downfield, as only one of his 27 receptions on the season has gone for more than 20 yards. Okonkwo has now failed to reach 30 receiving yards in four consecutive contests.
Nov 3, 2023
Three grabs in Week 9 loss
Okonkwo brought in three of four targets for 28 yards in the Titans' 20-16 loss to the Steelers on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo tied with Derrick Henry for second on the team in receptions, but the athletic tight end's yardage total continued in the same underwhelming range it's typically been this season. Okonkwo has been at 35 yards or less in each game this season despite serving as the top pass-catching option at tight end, and to this point, he hasn't seen any bump from the switch at quarterback from Ryan Tannehill (ankle) to Will Levis.
Oct 30, 2023
Held to 23 yards
Okonkwo recorded four receptions on six targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 28-23 win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo has at least six targets in two of his last three games, yet he has only 74 yards combined in that span. Even more disappointing is Okonkwo's lack of involvement near the end zone, as he has only two targets inside the 20 and only one inside the 10. Overall, he has failed to top 35 yards in any of his seven contests this season.
Oct 16, 2023
Low yardage totals continue
Okonkwo recorded two receptions on four targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 24-16 loss to the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo has seen exactly four targets in three of six games this season, giving him a consistent role in the Tennessee offense. However, his production has been very disappointing, as he's failed to top 30 receiving yards on four occasions. His outlook won't improve if Ryan Tannehill (ankle) is forced to miss time.
Oct 9, 2023
Finally gets involved
Okonkwo recorded five receptions on nine targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo entered Sunday's matchup having failed to command more than four targets in any contest. While he saw his opportunity tick up, he didn't deliver on his chances as he managed only 3.7 yards per target. Okonkwo was a potential breakout candidate in his second season as a pro, though he has yet to surpass 35 receiving yards through five games.
Oct 2, 2023
Another three empty catches
Okonkwo recorded three catches on three targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 27-3 win over the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo has at least three receptions in each of his last three games, though he's managed to top 30 receiving yards only once in that span. The Titans offense will continue to run through Derrick Henry and the passing attack will center around DeAndre Hopkins, which leaves limited production available for peripheral options such as Okonkwo.
Sep 25, 2023
No production on three catches
Okonkwo recorded three catches on four targets for seven yards in Sunday's 27-3 loss to Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo finished tied for the third on the team in targets, though he ultimately failed to reach double-digit receiving yards for the second time in three games to begin the season. His place in priority for targets combined with the state of the Titans' passing attack suggest that Okonkwo will struggle to produce consistently.
Sep 18, 2023
Tallies first catches of season
Okonkwo recorded four receptions on four targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 27-24 overtime win over the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo was targeted only twice and failed to record a catch in Week 1, though he bounced back for a decent performance against the Chargers. His primary contribution came early in the third quarter when he caught a short pass over the middle of the field before dragging defenders for a gain of 20 yards. Okonkwo will likely see inconsistent volume when the entire Tennessee receiving corps is healthy, but he continues to prove capable of making big plays when given a chance.
Sep 11, 2023
Blanked in Week 1
Okonkwo did not record a reception on two targets in Sunday's 16-15 loss to the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo was a breakout candidate for much of the offseason, though those hopes were seemingly derailed by the addition of DeAndre Hopkins. That came to fruition in Week 1, as Hopkins dominated with 13 targets on only 33 catchable pass attempts from Ryan Tannehill. Okonkwo could become a threat in the red zone, but he'll likely face a difficult path to seeing consistent targets.
Aug 28, 2023
Returning to practice
Okonkwo (leg) will return to practice Monday, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Titans never expected Okonkwo to be out for long even though he missed the final preseason game. He's expected to be the team's top pass-catching TE and now has two full weeks to prepare for a Week 1 game in New Orleans.
Aug 26, 2023
Should return soon
Coach Mike Vrabel said Saturday that he expects Okonkwo (leg) will return to practice this week, John Glennon of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo was held out of Friday's preseason win over the Patriots after suffering a minor leg injury during joint practices leading up to the game. He should be fine for Week 1 at New Orleans and could even be the second option in Tennessee's passing game (behind WR DeAndre Hopkins) if WR Treylon Burks (knee) is still bothered by an LCL injury.
Aug 20, 2023
Sees preseason action
Okonkwo recorded one reception on three targets for 19 yards in Saturday's 24-16 preseason victory over the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo made his 2023 preseason debut, though he worked with Malik Willis as Ryan Tannehill sat out. He didn't show great rapport with Willis, though he still managed to tally one significant gain. Okonkwo should be more involved in the offense during his second professional season, particularly if Treylon Burks (knee) is forced to miss any time.
Jan 8, 2023
Records third TD of season
Okonkwo gathered in three of four targets for 42 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 20-16 loss in Jacksonville.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo's 21-yard connection with quarterback Joshua Dobbs for a touchdown with 5:32 remaining in the second quarter pushed the Titans to their largest lead of the game at 10-0 after a successful PAT by Randy Bullock. Otherwise, Okonkwo mostly was held in check as Dobbs mustered just 179 yards through the air. A rookie fourth-round pick, Okonkwo really came on in the second half of the season to finish it with 32 catches (on 46 targets) for 450 yards and three TDs. He'll now turn his attention to the 2023 campaign with Tennessee officially eliminated from the playoff picture.
Dec 30, 2022
Three catches in loss
Okonkwo made three catches on four targets for 24 yards in Thursday's 27-13 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo showed immediate rapport with Joshua Dobbs, catching a pair of passes for 24 yards on the Titans' opening drive. He disappeared for the majority of the rest of the contest, though the switch from Malik Willis to Dobbs appeared to be an upgrade for Okonkwo's chances to produce. Regardless of the quarterback, Okonkwo has at least three receptions in five of his last six games.
Dec 25, 2022
Production stalls
Okonkwo recorded one reception on two targets for 10 yards in Saturday's 19-14 loss to the Texans.
ANALYSIS
The entire Titans' passing attack was underwhelming with Malik Willis under center in place of Ryan Tannehill (ankle). Okonkwo was no exception, as he posted his lowest yardage total since Week 8. While he's shown promise in the second half of his rookie season, Okonkwo may find it difficult to produce consistently across the final two games of the campaign.
Dec 18, 2022
Four grabs against Bolts
Okonkwo caught four of five targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 17-14 loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
The rookie tight end tied Derrick Henry for the team lead in catches on a day in which the Titans passing game couldn't get much going. Okonkwo has caught at least three passes in four straight games after managing only eight receptions over his first 10 NFL contests, a streak he'll look to extend in Week 16 against the Texans.
Dec 11, 2022
Breakout continues
Okonkwo recorded six receptions on six targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 36-22 loss to the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo was praised by offensive coordinator Todd Downing leading up to Sunday's matchup, and the rookie tight end delivered. He was relied upon heavily by Ryan Tannehill, finishing third on the team in targets behind Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Robert Woods. Okonkwo made the most of that opportunity, hauling in a 10-yard touchdown and also converting a two-point conversion midway through the fourth quarter. He could see his role slip once Treylon Burks (concussion) can return, but Okonkwo now has at least five targets in three consecutive games.
Dec 8, 2022
Earns larger role
Offensive coordinator Todd Downing said Thursday that Okonkwo has earned more opportunities, and the Titans have looked at drawing up more ways to get him the football, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Austin Hooper remains the Titans' starting tight end and continues to hold an important role as a blocker and short-yardage target, but Okonkwo, a fourth-round rookie out of Maryland, appears poised to poach more work from both Hooper and Geoff Swaim. For the first time all season in the Week 13 loss to the Eagles, Okonkwo played more snaps (31) than both Hooper (26) and Swaim (20), finishing the day with four receptions for 68 yards on five targets. Okonkwo has now drawn five targets in consecutive games, and the big-play ability he's demonstrated -- he leads all NFL tight ends with three 40-yard receptions this season -- has him in position to see even more involvement in the passing game. The Titans could look to Okonkwo for snaps as a wide receiver, given that the position group is already short on impact contributors and could be further depleted this Sunday against the Jaguars with Treylon Burks in the concussion protocol and uncertain to be available.
Dec 4, 2022
Emerging as deep threat
Okonkwo recorded four receptions on five targets for 68 yards in Sunday's 35-10 loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo recorded a career-high in receptions and yards in the Titans' blowout loss, though the majority of his production came before garbage time. He caught a deep pass down the middle of the field in the second quarter, and he then shed a defender and turned upfield for a 41-yard gain. Though Austin Hooper is still the team's primary tight end, Okonkwo now has one reception of 40 or more yards in three of his last five games.
Nov 28, 2022
Career-best five targets
Okonkwo recorded three receptions on five targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo saw his most significant involvement in the Titans' offense this season with five targets. He has been efficient with his opportunity this season, and that remained the case against the Bengals as he tallied receptions of 17 and 12 yards. Okonkwo has now seen multiple targets in five consecutive games after achieving that only once in his first six matchups.
Nov 7, 2022
Makes lone catch count
Okonkwo recorded one reception on three targets for 48 yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo got off to a hot start, as he recorded his lone catch on a quick screen on Tennessee's first play from scrimmage. Despite the hot start, he saw only 18 offensive snaps -- his lowest total since the team's bye in Week 6. Okonkwo has six receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown across the first eight games of his career.
Oct 3, 2022
First career touchdown
Okonkwo recorded three receptions on three targets for 38 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-17 victory over the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo had one catch across the first three games of his rookie season. However, Austin Hooper was dealing with a neck injury throughout the week, which may have opened the door to Okonkwo to serve in a bigger role in the Titans' offense. Okonkwo took advantage by catching his first career touchdown on an eight-yard reception midway through the second quarter. He also chipped in a long gain of 23 yards that led to a Derrick Henry touchdown run. It may be premature to say Okonkwo has taken over as Tennessee's top tight end, but he flashed his potential against the Colts.
Aug 29, 2022
Making case for role
Okonkwo tallied three receptions on three targets for 22 yards in Saturday's 26-23 preseason win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo showed some rapport with rookie Malik Willis, tallying catches of 10 and six yards. He'll almost certainly begin the season behind Austin Hooper on the depth chart, but he could ultimately surpass Geoff Swaim for an offensive role at some point during the campaign. Okonkwo was praised for his work on special teams by coach Mike Vrabel, which will also be a path for him to see significant time on the field.
Aug 22, 2022
Finds end zone
Okonkwo recorded one catch on two targets for six yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason win over Tampa Bay.
ANALYSIS
Okonkwo played 25 offensive snaps and 11 on special teams. He made the most of his two targets, catching a short touchdown in the middle of the end zone to tally his first score as a Titan. Okonkwo will likely serve as offensive depth in his rookie season but could find a lot of work on special teams.
