He's also produced at least 45 yards in all three of those contests, giving him a surprisingly competent baseline level of production given the state of the Titans' offense.

Okonkwo tied for the team lead with six targets, though he couldn't match Elic Ayomanor or Calvin Ridley in their ability to generate yards. Okonkwo was targeted in short areas of the field, though he did manage a long gain of 14 yards. He may start to lose playing time to Gunnar Helm as the season progresses, but Okonkwo has commanded a solid 10 targets across the first two games of the campaign.

Okonkwo's three seasons in the league thus far have been similar, as he's now started slow, finished strong, played all 17 regular-season games and floated around the 500-yard range each year since joining the Titans in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Tennessee added TE Gunnar Helm in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but even with more competition for snaps there's reason for optimism that improved quarterback play from No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward will pave the way for Okonkwo's production finally taking a step forward. The 6-foot-3, 238-pound tight end lacks prototypical size but boasts rare speed and YAC ability for his position. Tennessee doesn't have an entrenched No. 2 option in the passing game behind top wideout Calvin Ridley, as Tyler Lockett, Treylon Burks (ACL) and Van Jefferson a pair of rookie fourth-rounders in Chimere Dikeand Elic Ayomanor close out the wide receiver room. If he continues building momentum during training camp, it's not inconceivable that Okonkwo could secure that

Okonkwo was not targeted in Sunday's 23-14 loss to the Texans.

Okonkwo popped up on the injury report Thursday with an abdominal injury and didn't practice at all Friday. While active, he played only three offensive snaps and did not appear on the stat sheet. Even with the sour close to the campaign, Okonkwo emerged late in the season by accruing 38 targets and 28 receptions for 217 yards from Weeks 13-17. With improved quarterback play, Okonkwo could be in line for better results in 2025.

Okonkwo popped up on the injury report in the middle of the week, and there was some concern about his status after he failed to practice Friday. Okonkwo secured nine of 11 targets for 81 yards in the Titans' 38-30 loss to the Colts on Sunday.

The talented tight end had already recorded six catches in Week 15 against the Bengals after Mason Rudolph entered that game for an ineffective Will Levis, so Sunday's team-high reception, receiving yardage and target totals weren't completely surprising. However, Okonkwo's numbers were still a significant boon for fantasy managers that might have been rolling with him in their playoff matchups with the hopes of an encore performance, and the third-year pro is clearly a viable tight-end option as long as Rudolph is under center.

Okonkwo wasn't targeted for the first 50 minutes of game time, but he found open space after a short catch and out-ran the Texans' secondary for a 70-yard game-winning touchdown. That marked Okonwo's first touchdown since Week 1 and is only the second time he's reached 50 yards in a game on the campaign.

Okonkwo recorded two receptions on four targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 23-13 loss to the Vikings.

Okonkwo commanded at least four targets for the fourth time in his last five games. He made a limited impact in Sunday's loss, particularly because both of his receptions came on Tennessee's opening drive. Okonkwo has now recorded fewer than 20 receiving yards in eight of 10 games on the campaign.

Will Levis returned under center after a three-game absence, and he failed to get any of Tennessee's tight ends involved. Okonkwo accounted for the position group's only reception while being on the field for only 55 percent of offensive snaps. He's now been held to 15 or fewer receiving yards in three of his last five contests.

Okonkwo was on the field for a season-high 74 percent of offensive snaps, and he translated that into a relatively productive performance. He accounted for most of his yardage on a 21-yard gain late in the third quarter, which came off of a double reverse flea-flicker. Okonkwo also dropped a pass in the end zone that resulted in a pick, but his involvement in the offense still has ticked up with Mason Rudolph under center, as he's commanded at least four targets in all three of his starts.

Okonkwo recorded two receptions on five targets for 14 yards while losing a fumble in Sunday's 52-14 loss to the Lions.

Okonkwo logged season-high marks in both snap rate and targets. Unfortunately, that didn't translate to much production, as his only positive yardage came in the final minute of the blowout loss. To make matters worse, Okonkwo had several miscues, highlighted by a lost fumble, an offensive pass interference penalty and an interception on one of his targets.

Okonkwo has been on the field for at least 55 percent of offensive snaps in four of six games this season, and he had his best game of the season in Sunday's loss while displaying rapport with Mason Rudolph. He accounted for the team's longest play from scrimmage with a 26-yard catch late in the first quarter to account for the majority of his production. If Rudolph remains under center in Week 8 against the Lions, Okonkwo could benefit again, though he had yet to top 16 yards in a game entering Sunday's contest.

Okonkwo has seen a stable role in the Titans' offense, playing at least 29 steps in every game this season with no less than a 38 percent snap rate. He matched a season-high with three catches, though his longest gain of the day went for just five yards. Overall, Okonkwo has failed to top 16 yards in a contest this season.

It was a mixed performance for Okonkwo, as he matched his season high of three targets. However, he managed only one reception for five yards in the blowout victory. While he out-targeted Josh Whyle 3-1, Okonkwo is still an afterthought for fantasy purposes.

Okonkwo recorded two catches on two targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 30-14 loss to the Packers.

Okonkwo narrowly remained Tennessee's primary tight end by snap count. However, he was out-targeted 5-2 by Josh Whyle and has now failed to top 16 receiving yards in three games this season. Okonkwo isn't likely to entirely lose his role, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Whyle continue to be the more productive pass catcher moving forward.

Okonkwo saw his snap rate dip below 50 percent and narrowly out-produced Josh Whyle. A touchdown propped up Okonkwo's Week 1 stat line, though he now has only 31 yards combined on five catches across two games.

Okonkwo recorded two receptions on two targets for 15 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Bears.

Okonkwo's role was reportedly in danger due to a challenge from Josh Whyle throughout training camp, though he was on the field for 38 offensive snaps (59 percent). He also accounted for one of the Titans touchdowns on an impressive 17-yard leaping grab in the back of the end zone. Okonkwo still isn't likely to see a significant number of targets on a regular basis, but he remains Tennessee's top tight end and could be a favorite target in the red zone.

Coach Brian Callahan said Wednesday that Okonkwo and Josh Whyle are "two very different kind of tight ends" and both will have roles in the Tennessee offense, Buck Reising of 104.5 The Zone reports.

Callahan said Whyle is more of a Y tight end (inline) and Okonkwo more of an F (move), which perhaps hints at the latter being more involved than the former as a pass catcher. The team's initial preseason depth chart lists both as starters -- a move that attracted some attention after Whyle played only 156 snaps in 11 games as a rookie last year. Okonkwo, meanwhile, took 692 snaps in 17 games, but he struggled for much of the season before improving late in the year and recording 61 percent of his yardage over the final seven weeks (322 out of 528 yards). His production was also heavily back-weighted during his 2022 rookie campaign, but in that case Okonkwo simply didn't get much playing time early in the year. Callahan's quote makes it sound like another leap forward in playing time is unlikely.

The Titans had a positive game script for much of the contest, which limited passing volume. As a result, Okonkwo had a quiet close to the season. Despite a very inconsistent passing attack in Tennessee, he did manage to take a moderate step forward in his sophomore campaign by tallying 54 receptions for 528 yards and a touchdown. Okonkwo should have a significant role in the offense again in 2024, though his potential volume will ultimately be determined by whether DeAndre Hopkins is back with the team and any subsequent additions the Titans make to their pass-catching corps.

Okonkwo tried to do his part Sunday, but the Titans were clearly overmatched from the start. The matchup was complicated when rookie quarterback Will Levis left the game with a foot injury after just six pass attempts, though replacement Ryan Tannehill was effective enough (16 of 20 for 168 yards passing). Though Okonkwo is a talented and consistently effective player for Tennessee, his lack of opportunity in the Tennessee offense is equally consistent. No matter which quarterback lines up against Jacksonville in Week 18, Okonkwo seems doomed to swimming against the tide in most matchups.

Okonkwo had his best game of the season from both a reception and yardage perspective, though he has topped 60 yards twice in his last four contests. Sunday's performance was highlighted by a 12-yard touchdown catch -- his first of the year -- as well as long gains of 17 and 14 yards. Okonkwo has lacked explosiveness this season, though his involvement has been consistent as he has at least six targets in three of his last four contests.

Okonkwo carried a questionable tag into the weekend after he was added to the injury report Friday, when he was unable to practice due to the illness. The tight end has apparently made good progress in his recovery since Friday, and the expectation is that he'll be able to handle his usual workload. Okonkwo could become a threat in the red zone, but he'll likely face a difficult path to seeing consistent targets.

The Titans never expected Okonkwo to be out for long even though he missed the final preseason game. He's expected to be the team's top pass-catching TE and now has two full weeks to prepare for a Week 1 game in New Orleans.

Coach Mike Vrabel said Saturday that he expects Okonkwo (leg) will return to practice this week, John Glennon of SI.com reports.

Okonkwo was held out of Friday's preseason win over the Patriots after suffering a minor leg injury during joint practices leading up to the game. The Titans could look to Okonkwo for snaps as a wide receiver, given that the position group is already short on impact contributors and could be further depleted this Sunday against the Jaguars with Treylon Burks in the concussion protocol and uncertain to be available.
