Another scoring grab Sunday
Hopkins brought in both targets for 64 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' 41-17 win over the Browns on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has been much more of a short-area target over the last few seasons, but the veteran flashed his downfield chops on both his catches Sunday. Hopkins nearly had a touchdown on his first grab, which covered 41 yards early in the third quarter and was originally ruled a score before replay review revealed Hopkins hadn't broken the plane of the goal line. There was no ambiguity on his second and final reception of the night, a 23-yard scoring grab with just under five minutes remaining that closed out Baltimore's scoring on the day. Hopkins has taken half of his first four catches in a Ravens uniform for touchdowns, affording him some momentum heading into a Week 3 home matchup against the Lions on Monday night, Sept. 22.

Snags touchdown in Ravens debut
Hopkins caught both of his targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
The veteran impressed in his Baltimore debut, snatching a Lamar Jackson pass out of the air with one hand for his first reception and touchdown as a Raven. He only saw one target after that, though, and played a grand total of 18 snaps, which ranked third among Baltimore wideouts. The Ravens only had 19 dropbacks on a night where they scored 40 points, so there simply weren't a ton of opportunities to go around for anyone other than Zay Flowers, who was targeted nine times. Baltimore tends to be a run-heavy offense that uses two receiver sets more often than not, so there may be a cap on Hopkins' playing time projection and target share.

Good to go for Week 1
Hopkins (knee) isn't on the Week 1 injury report.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins missed a bit of practice time here and there but was mostly available for training camp. He'll likely just be the No. 3 receiver for Sunday's game at Buffalo, although the role could entail far more snaps than is typical for Baltimore's offense, depending on the health of TE Isaiah Likely (ankle) and FB Patrick Ricard (calf). Likely isn't expected to play, while Ricard's availability is unknown.
Aug 19, 2025
Back at practice
Hopkins (knee) is participating in practice Tuesday, Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins didn't practice Monday, so even if he's limited to individual drills Tuesday, it's encouraging to see the veteran wideout back on the field. Baltimore figures to fully prioritize getting Hopkins back to full health ahead of Week 1 against the Bills on Sunday, Sept. 7, so even if the starters take the field during Saturday's preseason finale against Washington, the 33-year-old receiver could be held out.
Aug 18, 2025
Still dealing with knee issue
Hopkins (knee) didn't practice Monday, Brian Wacker of the Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach John Harbaugh revealed after Monday's practice that Hopkins is still dealing with a knee injury, per Wacker. Hopkins may continue to have his practice participation impacted by the injury, which also caused him to miss some practice time in July, but there's been no indication that the veteran wide receiver's availability for the regular-season opener against the Bills on Sept. 7 is in any danger.
Jul 25, 2025
Returns to practice Friday
Hopkins (knee) returned to practice Friday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins' absence Thursday was precautionary. The 33-year-old wideout signed a one-year deal with the Ravens back in March after splitting time with the Titans and Chiefs in 2024. Hopkins is coming off a down year in which he amassed a 56-610-5 line on 80 targets across 16 regular-season contests. He was then nearly invisible in the playoffs, going for a combined 3-29-1 line on eight targets across three postseason games.
Jul 24, 2025
Precautionary practice absence
Coach John Harbaugh noted that Hopkins (knee) was held out of Thursday's practice "out of an abundance of caution," Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The report adds that Hopkins fell on his knee during Wednesday's session, but Harbaugh indicated that the veteran wideout will be okay. Once Hopkins returns to practice, he'll continue to build chemistry with star QB Lamar Jackson, while working in a Baltimore wideout corps that also features Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman.
Mar 11, 2025
Joining forces with Lamar
Hopkins is in line to sign a one-year contract with the Ravens, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins spent the 2024 campaign between the Titans and the eventual AFC champion Chiefs, combining for a 56-610-5 line on 80 targets in 16 regular-season games. Overall, it marked his fewest catches and receiving yards since 2021, when he was limited to 10 appearances with the Cardinals. Hopkins will turn 33 in June, and with Zay Flowers (knee) and Rashod Bateman (undisclosed) currently serving as Baltimore's top receivers and TEs Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely also on the roster, Hopkins may not be better than the fifth option in a passing game led by QB Lamar Jackson in 2025.
Feb 13, 2025
Production declines in 2024
Hopkins totaled a combined 56 catches for 610 yards and five touchdowns between the Titans and Chiefs during the 2024 regular season.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was dealt to the Chiefs prior to the team's Week 7 contest against the Bills, and the veteran required a little time to get up to speed with the playbook over the first couple of games but compiled 39 grabs for 408 yards and four touchdowns over the final nine contests. He was held to just three catches for 39 yards over his three playoff tilts. The veteran wideout's contract voids Feb. 17, meaning Hopkins will likely enter unrestricted free agency again leading into his age 33 season in 2025. While he's unlikely to see a resurgence in his production back to his prime years, Hopkins should still find a home as a contributing veteran wideout somewhere, and he's just one year removed from a 1,000-yard receiving season in 2023 with the Titans.
Jan 27, 2025
Quiet in AFCCG win
Hopkins secured one of two targets for 11 yards during Sunday's 32-29 AFC Championship Game win over the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins finished the AFC Championship Game just seventh on the team in terms of receiving, after having failed to secure his only target during Kansas City's previous divisional-round win over the Texans. The veteran wideout had strung together nine consecutive games with four or more targets to finish the regular season, though he rested Week 18, but he's now drawn just a combined three targets across two playoff appearances. Hopkins could be more involved versus the Eagles on Feb. 9 in Super Bowl LIX.
Jan 7, 2025
No action in Week 18
Hopkins didn't take the field in Week 18 versus the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins wasn't among the inactives for Sunday's regular-season finale, but the Chiefs opted to rest their starters with the No.1 seed locked up heading into the contest. Kansas City has a bye week on tap before they start their postseason run in the divisional round, and Hopkins should rejoin the action then.
Jan 5, 2025
Will suit up Sunday
Hopkins will be active for Sunday's game in Denver, in part because he needs one more touchdown to reach a $500,000 incentive in his contract, Jay Glazer reported on "Fox NFL Sunday."
ANALYSIS
The Chiefs are already locked in as the AFC's No. 1 seed and will rest several key veterans in Week 18, but Hopkins won't be among them. Hopkins will likely still play only limited snaps, especially when the Chiefs are not near the red zone. It might still be a tough ask for Hopkins to get into the end zone, especially if he draws coverage from star Denver cornerback Patrick Surtain while Carson Wentz is at quarterback for the Chiefs rather than Patrick Mahomes (ankle).
Dec 27, 2024
Just seven yards in Christmas win
Hopkins caught two of four targets for seven yards in Wednesday's 29-10 win over the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Patrick Mahomes threw for 320 yards and three touchdowns but Hopkins wasn't responsible for much of that production. While Hopkins' jump ball ability is still a valuable asset, Kansas City has preferred to get the ball out quickly to speedier alternatives such as Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown, limiting Hopkins' involvement in recent weeks. Hopkins will likely be rested in Week 18 against the Broncos since the Chiefs have sewn up the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
Dec 22, 2024
Four catches in win
Hopkins caught all four of his targets for 37 yards in Saturday's 27-19 win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was once again limited to less than 40 yards in Week 16, marking his third straight contest failing to reach that mark and fifth time in nine games since being traded to Kansas City. The wide receiver has reeled in 13 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown over the last three games. With Hollywood Brown back in action, Hopkins may see a drop in production moving forward.
Dec 15, 2024
Five catches in Week 15 win
Hopkins brought in five of six targets for 36 yards in the Chiefs' 21-7 win over the Browns on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins finished second in receptions and receiving yards on the afternoon for the Chiefs, although the latter total was particularly unremarkable. Hopkins has at least four catches in four straight games, but he's been under 40 receiving yards in four of his last five contests overall. Hopkins could continue to struggle with efficiency in a Week 16 home matchup against the Texans on Saturday afternoon if Patrick Mahomes (ankle) is forced to miss the contest and is replaced by Carson Wentz.
Dec 8, 2024
Finds paydirt in Week 14 win
Hopkins caught four of nine targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins scored a nine-yard touchdown in the second quarter and got both hands on a deep ball just outside the end zone early in the fourth before having it knocked out by a jarring hit for an incomplete pass. He accounted for Kansas City's only touchdown of the game but finished third on the team in receiving yards behind Travis Kelce (45) and Xavier Worthy (41) despite pacing the team in targets. Hopkins has established himself as the No. 1 wide receiver in Kansas City heading into a Week 15 matchup with the Browns, notching nine targets in three of his last six games while scoring four touchdowns over that span.
Nov 29, 2024
Leads team with 90 yards
Hopkins had four receptions (nine targets) for 90 yards in Friday's 19-17 win over Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins snapped out of a marginal slump to post his highest receiving yardage total of both Friday's win and his season to date. The 32-year-old also recorded a season-worst 44 percent catch rate in order to become the game's leading receiver. Hopkins managed to help his offense beyond the box score by drawing two instrumental pass interference flags late in a hard-fought victory. Nuk should continue providing flex value in most fantasy formats for next Sunday's home matchup against the Chargers in Week 14.
Nov 24, 2024
Catches short touchdown
Hopkins recorded five receptions on six targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was fairly involved in the Kansas City offense, as he tied for second on the team in targets. He had a modest day from a yardage perspective, as he was used primarily in the short areas of the field to limit his longest gain to 12 yards. However, Hopkins did manage his third touchdown as a Chief late in the third quarter by cashing in from three yards away. While he should remain a key target down the stretch, Hopkins has lacked explosiveness by tallying more than 50 receiving yards in just two of five games since joining Kansas City.
Nov 17, 2024
Modest production Sunday
Hopkins caught three of four targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 30-21 loss to Buffalo.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins actually finished as the team's second-leading receiver despite his mild statistical output Sunday. It was a rough day overall for Kansas City's key receivers outside of rookie Xavier Worthy (4-61-1). Hopkins was targeted in the end zone late in the contest, but he drew a pass interference penalty instead. The Chiefs will lick their wounds and try to bounce back in a softer matchup against the Panthers next Sunday.
Nov 10, 2024
Four catches in narrow win
Hopkins brought in four of five targets for 56 yards in the Chiefs' 16-14 win over the Broncos on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins finished third in all of receptions, receiving yards and targets on the afternoon while facing a talented Broncos secondary. The veteran wideout has already demonstrated solid chemistry with Patrick Mahomes since arriving in Kansas City, particularly over the last two games when he's posted a 12-142-2 line on 14 targets. Hopkins should once again play a key role in the air attack during a Week 11 road showdown against the Bills.
Nov 5, 2024
Unleashed on MNF
Hopkins finished with eight receptions (nine targets) for 86 yards and two touchdowns in Monday's 30-24 overtime win over the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
We finally got to see Patrick Mahomes (ankle) utilize his new weapon following a full week of practice after last week's headline trade. Hopkins was exactly as advertised, taking over the top wideout role in Kansas City while posting a monstrous fantasy score in the final game of Week 9. The 32-year-old has seven 1,000-yard seasons under his belt, and he would likely cash in an eighth if he started the season with a quarterback like Mahomes dishing him the ball. Assuming the latter is healthy following his injury scare Monday, then Hopkins would remain a strong play against Denver on Sunday.
Oct 27, 2024
Gains 29 yards in KC debut
Hopkins had two receptions on three targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 27-20 win over Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins got eased in with his new club as expected, but he still made a mark on the box score with a pair of healthy receptions. The veteran No. 1 wideout might need a week or two to get fully integrated into head coach Andy Reid's complex scheme, but his fantasy stock undoubtedly trended upwards following the move from Tennessee. Hopkins is worth rostering in all formats, with deeper-league managers likely starting the wideout against the Buccaneers next Monday.
Oct 27, 2024
Active versus Raiders
Hopkins is active for Sunday's game against the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins, who the Chiefs brought in via a trade with the Titans this past week, practiced with his new team Thursday and Friday and headed into the weekend without a game designation. With his Week 8 active status confirmed, it remains to be seen what sort of workload Hopkins will see in his debut with Kansas City, though both Jay Glazer of FOX Sports and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network suggest that the veteran wideout will see his share of snaps Sunday in situations that he's been able to prep for on the fly. The expectation beyond that is that as Hopkins gains more familiarity with the Chiefs' playbook, he'll become more involved in the team's offense, thus bolstering a WR corps that has been hit hard by injuries.
Oct 27, 2024
All facets but 10-15 plays
Hopkins will play in all facets of Sunday's game against the Raiders, but he was introduced to 10-15 different plays, Jay Glazer reported on Fox NFL Sunday. Coach Andy Reid cited that he only had Hopkins for two days when discussing the number of plays introduced.
ANALYSIS
This report doesn't necessarily conflict with Ian Rapoport's earlier report that Hopkins could play significant snaps, and that Hopkins was 'given all that he could handle.' After all, what is considered 'significant' can be interpreted widely, and plays aren't necessarily the same thing as snaps.
Oct 27, 2024
Should play 'significant snaps' in debut
Hopkins is expected to play "significant snaps" in his Chiefs debut Sunday against the Raiders, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
After being acquired from the Titans, Hopkins officially joined the Chiefs on Thursday and got in two practices with his new team before being cleared to play Sunday. According to Rapoport, the Chiefs "gave him as much as he could possibly handle" from the playbook once he reported to the team, and the coaching staff is apparently comfortable having him handle a big role right off that bat. Rapoport adds that Hopkins' snap count should only increase in the coming weeks once he settles into his new organization, but the 32-year-old looks like he could still operate as Patrick Mahomes' No. 1 wideout right away in Week 8. Over his six games with Tennessee, Hopkins recorded just 15 catches for 173 yards and one touchdown on 21 targets, though he'll benefit from a big upgrade in quarterback play in going from Will Levis (shoulder) and Mason Rudolph to a two-time league MVP in Mahomes.
Oct 24, 2024
Not on injury report
Hopkins (lower leg) isn't listed on the Chiefs' Week 8 injury report.
ANALYSIS
In his first practice with the Chiefs, Hopkins (who arrived via a trade with the Titans that became official Thursday) worked without restriction, signalling that he's past the lower leg soreness he had coming out Week 7 action. Though he'll only practice with his new team twice before Sunday's game against the Raiders, Hopkins has a chance to play this weekend, with Adam Teicher of ESPN relaying that coach Andy Reid is open to the idea of using the veteran wideout right away, with Reid noting on that subject Friday, "why wait?"
Oct 24, 2024
Trade to Kansas City official
The trade sending Hopkins (lower leg) from the Titans to the Chiefs was made official Thursday after the wideout passed his physical with his new team, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
As Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site points out, two areas where the addition of Hopkins should make the team better are in the red zone and on third downs. On Monday, Tennessee coach Brian Callahan said that the veteran wideout was dealing with some lower leg soreness during Week 7 action, so it remains to be seen if Hopkins will be listed as a full participant in his upcoming first practice with the Chiefs, who face the Raiders on the road Sunday.
Oct 23, 2024
Headed to Kansas City
The Titans traded Hopkins (lower leg) to the Chiefs on Wednesday in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round draft pick, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Rapoport, the Titans are slated to absorb $2.5 million of Hopkins' salary as part of the deal, and the fifth-round pick will become a fourth-round choice if Kansas City makes the Super Bowl and if the wideout plays 60 percent of the team's snaps. Hopkins was reported to be dealing with some lower leg soreness coming out of Tennessee's Week 7 loss to the Bills, but that's presumably a minor concern. If that's the case, Hopkins could debut with Kansas City as soon as Sunday against the Raiders. The addition of Hopkins could provide a major lift to a wideout corps that's been hit hard by injuries this season, and once the 32-year-old is up to speed with his new team's offense, he'll have an opportunity to emerge as one of quarterback Patrick Mahomes' top pass-catching options.
Oct 23, 2024
Trade to Kansas City being finalized
The Titans are reportedly finalizing a trade to send Hopkins (lower leg) to the Chiefs, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
ANALYSIS
Per Rapoport, the deal that would send the veteran wideout to Kansas City is for a fifth-round draft pick that can become a fourth-rounder, with Tennessee expected to absorb some of Hopkins' salary. The looming transaction is set to provide a major boost to a Chiefs wideout corps that has been hit hard by injuries, with Rashee Rice (knee) as well as Hollywood Brown (shoulder) on IR and JuJu Smith-Schuster currently sidelined by a hamstring issue. Assuming the lower leg soreness Hopkins was dealing with following Week 7 action doesn't impact his availability, the 32-year-old could make his debut with Kansas City on Sunday against the Raiders.
Oct 21, 2024
Dealing with lower leg soreness
Coach Brian Callahan said Monday that Hopkins is dealing with some lower leg soreness following Sunday's loss to the Bills, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official website reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins played 60 percent of the offensive snaps against Buffalo, down from his 71 percent mark the previous week, and he finished the day with one catch for -2 yards on one target. It was a game to forget for the 32-year-old wideout. His practice reps could be limited some this week ahead of a Week 8 date with the Lions next Sunday.
Oct 21, 2024
Terrible showing in loss
Hopkins recorded one reception on one target for -2 yards in Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com, Hopkins played 39 offensive snaps -- a 58 percent clip -- tied for his highest total of the season. However, that didn't lead to improved production, as Hopkins was limited to one target for the second time for the campaign. Mason Rudolph didn't improve Tennessee's offensive efficiency, making Hopkins' potential to produce in the future unclear as he has managed to top 50 receiving yards only twice in six contests.
Oct 13, 2024
Team-high yardage total in loss
Hopkins brought in four of six targets for 54 yards in the Titans' 20-17 loss to the Colts on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins' reception and receiving yardage totals, modest as they were, served as team highs on the afternoon for the Titans. The veteran receiver was on the receiving end of well more than half of Will Levis' 95 passing yards, underscoring how lackluster a day it was for Tennessee's air attack. Hopkins now has multiple receptions in three straight games after opening the season with consecutive one-catch efforts, and he could be a beneficiary if there is a quarterback change from Levis to Mason Rudolph.
Sep 30, 2024
Just two catches as Levis gets hurt
Hopkins caught two of four targets for 31 yards in Monday's 31-12 win over the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins led the Titans in targets and tied with Tyler Boyd for the team lead in receiving yards, as Will Levis (shoulder) and Mason Rudolph combined for just 110 passing yards in the run-heavy win. Levis is mistake-prone but can push the ball downfield more effectively with his stronger arm. Luckily for Hopkins' fantasy prospects, Levis will have a chance to recover during Tennessee's Week 5 bye before a Week 6 matchup with the Colts.
Sep 22, 2024
Impactful Week 3
Hopkins recorded six receptions on seven targets for 73 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-14 loss to the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has been limited early in the season by a lingering knee injury, and he still managed to play only 45 percent of offensive snaps against the Packers, per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com. Even with the continued limited workload, he led the team in all receiving statistics by tallying three catches of at least 15 yards while also tacking on an 11-yard touchdown for his first trip to the end zone of the campaign. Will Levis also looked capable under center against the Packers, providing some hope that Hopkins can put together additional productive performances.
Sep 18, 2024
Should take on more snaps
Coach Brian Callahan said Wednesday that Hopkins' role will increase in the coming weeks, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing training camp and preseason with an MCL sprain, Hopkins played only 25 percent of snaps in Week 1 and 43 percent in Week 2, drawing three targets on 23 routes between the two games. He should get more playing time Week 3 against the Packers -- likely at Treylon Burks' expense -- but Hopkins' fantasy prospects don't look great with QB Will Levis struggling under Callahan so far.
Sep 15, 2024
Limited to one catch Sunday
Hopkins secured one of two targets for nine yards in the Titans' 24-17 loss to the Jets on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was expected to have a larger role than during his 17-snap Week 1, but the veteran wideout simply wasn't looked at very often by Will Levis. Hopkins now has back-to-back one-catch tallies for a total of 17 yards over his first two games, and he'll encounter some tough cornerback play when the Packers come calling for a Week 3 visit next Sunday.
Sep 13, 2024
Good to go for Week 2
Hopkins hasn't been listed on the Titans' Week 2 injury report in advance of Sunday's game against the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site noted Friday that Hopkins has looked good in practice this week, and the wide receiver even spoke on his recent knee injury Thursday, calling it "a sprained MCL, which is a common injury, not a tear." Hopkins was able to suit up this past Sunday at Chicago, but his role was scaled back to the tune of 17 of 64 offensive snaps and one catch (on one target) for eight yards. Considering his lack of limitations in practice this week, he should see a significant increase in snaps and even looks from QB Will Levis on Sunday.
Sep 11, 2024
Larger role expected Week 2
Hopkins (knee) isn't listed on the Wednesday's injury report, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins played just 17 snaps in this past Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Bears after being listed as questionable due to a knee injury entering the game. He isn't in danger of missing Sunday's home opener against the Jets, and while it remains to be seen how much Hopkins will be deployed, head coach Brian Callahan is optimistic that the veteran wide receiver will have a larger role. "I see his role increasing," Callahan said of Hopkins on Wednesday, per Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site. "He should practice more, and his role should increase."
Sep 9, 2024
Still limited by knee issue
Hopkins recorded one catch on one target for eight yards in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was on the injury report throughout the week with a knee injury but suited up as expected. As his stat line makes evident, Hopkins was not playing at full strength and was on the field for only 15 offensive snaps (24.6 percent), per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com. It's unclear how long the injury will plague Hopkins, though it would be a surprise to see him play a full snap count in Week 2 against the Jets.
Sep 8, 2024
Active for Week 1
Hopkins (knee) is active for Sunday's matchup against the Bears, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins suffered a knee injury early in training camp but managed to practice in limited fashion throughout the week leading up to this matchup. He wore a sleeve on his leg Thursday before ditching any support by Friday. Despite the progress, he may have his reps limited in Week 1, but Hopkins will be ready to take the field as the 2024 season kicks off.
Sep 7, 2024
Trending towards playing Sunday
Hopkins (knee) is expected to play Sunday against the Bears, but the team could restrict his playing time, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.comreports.
ANALYSIS
It appears that the team will be leaving it up to Hopkins' discretion how much he plays as it seems like a pain tolerance situation. The 32-year-old described his preseason injury as an "MCL tear" although the Titans haven't confirmed that information. Hopkins is expected to see a heavy dose of Bears' All-Pro corner Jaylon Johnson in what's expected to be a relatively low-scoring affair.
Sep 6, 2024
Game-time decision at Chicago
Hopkins (knee) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Bears, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins officially is listed as questionable, but his status may not be known until 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff in Chicago. The team has concerns over the veteran wide receiver's conditioning level, as he missed extensive practice time while recovering from a knee injury over the past six weeks. Treylon Burks would be the top candidate for increased reps on the outside if Hopkins is ruled out Sunday.
Sep 6, 2024
Questionable for Week 1
Coach Brian Callahan noted Friday that Hopkins (knee) is questionable for Sunday's season opener against the Bears, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has been limited at practice this week as he bounces back from a knee injury, with Turron Davenport of ESPN.com relaying that Callahan indicated the process of making sure Hopkins gets his work in while also balancing his knee issue has been smooth. At this point, Davenport suggests that the biggest concern for the wideout -- who practiced without a protective sleeve on his leg Friday -- is related to his conditioning. Fortunately for those considering Hopkins in Week 1 lineups, the Titans kick off at 1:00 ET on Sunday. If he's limited or out this weekend, Treylon Burks would likely see added work versus Chicago alongside Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd.
Sep 5, 2024
Another limited practice
Hopkins (knee) remained limited at practice Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com, Hopkins -- who was also limited Wednesday -- worked with a sleeve on his left leg during Thursday's session. The veteran wideout now has one more opportunity to practice fully ahead of Sunday's season opener against the Bears, but it's worth noting that offensive coordinator Nick Holz indicated Thursday that if Hopkins does play in Week 1, he's expected to have a sizeable role, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Sep 4, 2024
Limited practice participant
Hopkins (knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, John Glennon of NashvillePost.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Titans haven't said much about Hopkins since Aug. 18 when head coach Brian Callahan told reporters he expected the wideout to be ready for Week 1. Hopkins suffered a knee strain at the end of July, with a reported timeline estimate of 4-6 weeks, and it's still best to view him as uncertain for the season opener at Chicago this Sunday. Progression to full practice participation Thursday or Friday would erase most of the doubts surrounding his status.
Sep 4, 2024
At practice Wednesday
Hopkins (knee) was present for practice Wednesday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's a good sign that Hopkins is on the field as the Titans begin their practice week ahead of Sunday's season opener against the Bears. The team's upcoming practice report will add further context regarding the wideout's Week 1 status by revealing his participation level Wednesday.
Sep 4, 2024
Expected to practice
Hopkins (knee) is expected to practice Wednesday, but coach Brian Callahan said he's unsure how much the wide receiver will do, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It sounds like Hopkins will be a limited participant as he works his way back from the knee strain he suffered at the end of July. There was no report of any practice participation throughout August, so it's possible the Titans restrict his workload this Sunday at Chicago if he ends up playing. Should Hopkins end up inactive, WR Treylon Burks would figure to fill in alongside Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd.
Aug 18, 2024
Expected to be ready for Week 1
Titans head coach Brian Callahan said Sunday that the team expects Hopkins (knee) to return in time for the regular-season opener, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was diagnosed with a strained knee in early August with a return timeline of 4-to-6 weeks. Callahan said Sunday that the expectation is that the receiver will be back "soon," so he appears to be trending toward the early end of that timeframe. Hopkins is expected to work alongside Calvin Ridley as part of a veteran starting wideout duo when healthy.
Aug 3, 2024
Won't need surgery
Titans head coach Brian Callahan confirmed Saturday that Hopkins (knee) will be out "several weeks" and indicated that the receiver won't require surgery, Ben Arthur of FoxSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins' initial diagnosis for his strained knee indicated he could miss 4-to-6 weeks, and that timeline seems to be accurate given Callahan's comments. In positive news, the fact that Hopkins won't require surgery suggests that the injury isn't likely to sideline Hopkins beyond the first week or two of the regular season, if he misses any games at all. It's still unclear whether Hopkins could be ready for Week 1, but if he does miss regular-season time, Treylon Burks and Tyler Boyd would be the most obvious candidates for increased volume on offense.
Aug 1, 2024
Could miss 4-6 weeks
The initial diagnosis on the reported knee injury Hopkins is dealing with is that the wideout could miss 4-6 weeks, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Davenport notes that Hopkins was spotted with a wrap on his left knee at practice Wednesday and now it looks like he'll miss some time. Per Davenport, the Titans are optimistic, but at this stage it looks like Hopkins being ready for Week 1 could represent a best-case scenario. Added opportunities will be available for Treylon Burks for any length of time that Hopkins is sidelined.

Reportedly could miss time
Hopkins reportedly suffered a strained knee Wednesday or Thursday, according to Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com.
ANALYSIS
We'll look for added context and confirmation of the report, but Kuharsky suggests that Hopkins could potentially miss in the neighborhood of four-to-six weeks. In such a scenario, Tyler Boyd and Treylon Burks would be candidates to see added WR opportunities for the Titans alongside Calvin Ridley.

Finds end zone in season finale
Hopkins recorded seven receptions on 10 targets for 46 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-20 win over the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Derrick Henry drove the Titans to an upset win, though Hopkins turned in a solid effort in a supporting role. He was used primarily in a short-area role, as his longest reception went for only 16 yards. However, Hopkins came through with his seventh touchdown of the season on a six-yard reception early in the third quarter. All told, it was a successful opening season in Tennessee, as he posed the seventh 1,000-yard campaign of his career. He remains under contract with the team for the 2024 season, though the Titans can get out of the deal with only a $7.9 hit to the salary cap.
Dec 31, 2023
Reaches 1,000 yards
Hopkins recorded seven receptions on seven targets for 72 yards in Sunday's 26-3 loss to the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins caught passes from both Will Levis (foot) and Ryan Tannehill and led the team in targets, receptions and yards. He did the majority of his damage after the catch and rebounded from his past two performances, during which he combined to record only 41 yards. While it has been far from Hopkins' most productive season, he surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for the first time since 2020 while being held back by subpar quarterback play throughout the campaign.
Dec 24, 2023
Just four targets in loss
Hopkins finished with two receptions for 20 yards off of four targets in Sunday's 20-17 loss to Seattle.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins suffered from quarterback Will Levis' (ankle) absence Sunday, as backup Ryan Tannehill produced the wideout's lowest target total (four) this season. That's two duds in a row for Hopkins, who was building momentum once Levis took over for the struggling Tannehill back in Week 8. There is a chance that the Titans could get their best available quarterback back in Week 17, which would boost Hopkins' value for a potential revenge game against Houston next Sunday.
Dec 17, 2023
Held to 21 yards
Hopkins recorded two receptions on nine targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 19-16 loss to the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was the clear focal point of the Tennessee passing attack as his nine targets doubled any other player. However, his improved efficiency in recent weeks with Will Levis (leg) disappeared while averaging a minuscule 2.3 yards per target. Positively, Hopkins has at least nine targets in five of eight games with Levis under center, so he should continue to see plenty of opportunity in Week 16 against Seattle.
Dec 12, 2023
Finding rhythm in Tennessee offense
Hopkins recorded seven receptions on 12 targets for 124 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 28-27 win over the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins accounted for the Titans' two longest plays from scrimmage with receptions of 45 and 36 yards, which helped him top 100 receiving yards for the third time this season. He capped off his performance with a three-yard touchdown catch, contributing to a frantic rally from Tennessee in the final three minutes of the game. Since Will Levis has taken over under center, Hopkins has 100 receiving yards or a touchdown in four of seven contests.
Dec 3, 2023
Catches touchdown again
Hopkins recorded five catches on 12 targets for 75 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-28 overtime loss to the Colts. He also recorded one carry for four yards.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins saw double-digit targets for the fourth time this season and had his most productive showing since Week 8. He did the majority of his damage on a trio of catches that went for 27, 22 and 18 yards. Hopkins also tallied his fifth touchdown of the campaign -- all of which have come since Will Levis took over under center -- on a three-yard reception late in the fourth quarter. The Titans will continue to prefer to run their offense through the ground game, but Hopkins has shown he is capable of putting together strong performances
Nov 26, 2023
Quiet against Panthers
Hopkins recorded three catches on five targets for 49 yards in Sunday's 17-10 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins narrowly led the Titans in receiving yards, but he unexpectedly was forced to split targets among several other pass catchers on the team. Thanks to a pair of 19-yard receptions, it was one of Hopkins' more efficient performances of the season, though he was ultimately limited in production due to his muted volume. Overall, Hopkins has 60 or fewer yards in each of his last four games.
Nov 19, 2023
Long score on trick play
Hopkins recorded four receptions on five targets for 59 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-14 loss to the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was the only Titans pass catcher to see more than two targets, though he needed only one opportunity to account for the majority of his production. On the final play of the third quarter, Tenessee snapped the ball directly to Derrick Henry, who proceeded to hand the ball off to Will Levis to deliver a 43-yard touchdown strike to Hopkins. Hopkins has been held back by the team's poor passing attack for much of the season, but he now has a touchdown in two of four games with Levis under center.
Nov 12, 2023
Held in check Sunday
Hopkins secured three of eight targets for 27 yards in the Titans' 20-6 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins led the Titans in targets, but Tennessee was unable to capitalize on what appeared to be a favorable matchup against a Buccaneers secondary picked apart by C.J. Stroud in a Week 9 loss and missing Carlton Davis (toe) on Sunday. Hopkins' three receptions were his fewest yet while operating with Will Levis as his quarterback, and he'll aim to bounce back in a Week 11 road matchup against a vulnerable Jaguars secondary.
Nov 2, 2023
Garners 65 total yards in loss
Hopkins brought in four of 11 targets for 60 yards and rushed once for five yards in the Titans' 20-16 loss to the Steelers on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins paced the Titans in targets and tied with Kyle Philips for the team lead in receptions. However, as his final line indicates, Hopkins' night turned inefficient as it unfolded, with the connection between him and rookie signal-caller Will Levis almost coming up completely empty in the second half. Nevertheless, the amount of attention Hopkins is garnering in the air attack is encouraging, and his prospects for a Week 10 road matchup against the Buccaneers on Nov. 12 remain bright irrespective of whether it's Levis or Ryan Tannehill (ankle) under center for that contest.
Nov 2, 2023
Suits up Thursday
Hopkins (toe) is listed as active for Thursday night's game against the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
With the Titans on a quick turnaround after Sunday's 28-23 win over the Falcons, Hopkins was listed as limited on Monday and Tuesday's practice reports before being deemed a non-participant Wednesday and questionable for Thursday's contest. Now that the wideout's active status versus Pittsburgh has been confirmed, Hopkins figures to maintain his key role in Tennessee's passing offense, while working with rookie QB Will Levis for the second straight game. In Levis' regular-season debut against Atlanta, Hopkins logged 43 (of a possible 68) snaps on offense en route to catching four of his six targets for 128 yards and three TDs.
Nov 2, 2023
Expected to play Thursday night
Hopkins (toe) is expected to play Thursday night against the Steelers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
On a short week, Hopkins got in a pair of limited practices Monday and Tuesday before missing Wednesday's session. He's long been someone who doesn't need to practice much in order to play, and it's fair to wonder if the Titans were simply giving the 31-year-old some extra time to get his body ready for Thursday night. Hopkins is coming off of a three-touchdown Week 8 with rookie Will Levis under center. Hopkins' official status will be determined 90 minutes prior to kickoff tonight.
Nov 1, 2023
Questionable after missed practice
Hopkins (toe) was listed as a non-participant in practice Wednesday and is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins' inability to practice Wednesday after being listed as a limited participant Monday and Tuesday may leave his fantasy managers feeling uneasy, but without a day off between practice and Thursday's game, it's possible Tennessee was just providing extra rest for the veteran wide receiver. Hopkins has a history of suiting up despite little or no practice participation, and he showed no signs of being bothered by an injury in this past Sunday's three-touchdown performance against the Falcons. All three touchdowns came on the receiving end of passes from rookie quarterback Will Levis, who will make his second straight start Thursday in place of the injured Ryan Tannehill (ankle). The strong-armed Levis will likely continue looking for Hopkins deep downfield if the receiver is given the green light when Tennessee releases its inactive list roughly 90 minutes prior to Thursday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.
Oct 31, 2023
Remains limited Tuesday
Hopkins (toe) was listed as limited on Tuesday's practice estimate, Ben Arthur of FoxSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Like running back Derrick Henry (ankle), Hopkins is going through Week 9 prep with a cap on his reps. Hopkins will have just one more opportunity to log all on-field work this week before the Titans potentially hand him a designation for Thursday's game in Pittsburgh.
Oct 30, 2023
Dealing with toe issue
Hopkins was listed as limited on Monday's estimated practice report due to a toe injury, John Glennon of NashvillePost.com reports.
ANALYSIS
In the wake of his three-touchdown performance against the Falcons this past Sunday, Hopkins is tending to his second health concern of the season after dealing with an ankle issue Weeks 2-4. As a result, his status will be one to watch as the week goes on to get a sense of his availability for Thursday's game in Pittsburgh.
Oct 29, 2023
Turns in vintage effort
Hopkins caught four passes on six targets for 128 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 28-23 win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins tied for the team lead with six targets, and he was extremely efficient with his opportunity. Three of his four receptions went for touchdowns, highlighted by long scores of 61 and 47 yards. The performance marked Hopkins' second 100-yard effort of the season, both of which have come in his last three games. Will Levis led the Titans' most explosive offensive performance of the season, and Hopkins could continue to benefit with him under center.
Oct 15, 2023
Disappears against Ravens
Hopkins recorded one reception on five targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 24-16 loss to the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
The Titans ran only 46 offensive plays, which limited volume for their skill-position players across the board. That was certainly the case for Hopkins, who had his worst statistical performance of the season while matching his low in targets. To make matters worse, Hopkins was seen holding his hand in apparent discomfort late in the game, per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com. Tennessee is heading into their bye week, but his health status will be worth monitoring heading into a Week 8 matchup against the Falcons.
Oct 8, 2023
Best game as Titan
Hopkins recorded eight receptions on 11 targets for 140 yards in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins had his best game as a Titan by any measure, in part benefitting from a relatively pass-heavy game script. He didn't rely solely on volume, however, as he tallied three receptions of at least 20 yards after entering the contest with only two such gains. Hopkins still doesn't have a touchdown on the season, though he's managed to top 60 receiving yards in three of five weeks.
Oct 1, 2023
Tallies 63 yards
Hopkins recorded four receptions on six targets for 63 yards in Sunday's 27-3 win over the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins had to settle for a tie for the team lead in targets, and he now has between five and seven targets in each of his last three games. He managed the majority of his production in Sunday's win on a deep catch down the left side of the field that went for 37 yards in the middle of the second quarter -- his longest gain of the campaign. Hopkins has yet to top 65 receiving yards, and with Tennessee's offense centered around the running game, it's difficult to foresee a significant increase in his production.
Sep 29, 2023
Gets green light for Week 4
Hopkins (ankle) was a full practice participant Friday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The lingering ankle issue had resulted in Hopkins carrying a questionable tag into the Titans' last two games, but he suited up on both occasions and combined for seven receptions for 88 yards and no touchdowns on 12 targets. That level of production was lower than what fantasy managers had been accustomed to seeing from Hopkins, but his outlook could be brighter for Week 4 now that he's seemingly in a better spot on the health front than he has been for either of the past two games. Additionally, the Titans will be without No. 2 wideout Treylon Burks (knee) on Sunday, removing one potential challenger for targets from the equation.
Sep 28, 2023
Logs limited practice Thursday
Hopkins (ankle) was limited at practice Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins practiced fully Wednesday, but given that he's been managing an ankle issue of late there's a decent chance that his listed limitations Thursday are more a matter of maintenance than indicative of a setback. Friday's final injury report will clarify whether Hopkins approaches Sunday's game against the Bengals with an injury designation or cleared to play in Week 4.
Sep 24, 2023
Leads team with 48 receiving yards
Hopkins (ankle) caught three of seven targets for 48 yards in Sunday's 27-3 loss to the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins came in questionable with an ankle injury for the second consecutive game, though the veteran wide receiver was held back more by the struggling offense around him than any physical limitations. His two catches for 43 yards accounted for almost half of Ryan Tannehill's 91 passing yards in the first half. Tannehill added just 13 passing yards after halftime, five of which went to Hopkins. While Hopkins has a healthy 25 targets through three weeks, he has turned that volume into a modest 153 yards without a touchdown heading into a Week 4 home game against the Bengals.
Sep 24, 2023
Suits up Sunday
Hopkins (ankle) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins, who didn't practice Friday, also didn't practice last week before playing against the Chargers in Week 2, logging 39 snaps while catching four of his team-high five targets for 40 yards. It remains to be seen if the veteran wideout will be limited at all versus Cleveland, but Hopkins will continue to play through his ankle issue nonetheless and should continue to see his share of targets from QB Ryan Tannehill on Sunday in the absence of any in-game setbacks.
Sep 23, 2023
Likely to play Sunday
Hopkins (ankle) is in line to play Sunday at Cleveland, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has been tending to an ankle injury since the beginning of Week 2 prep, but he was able to suit up last Sunday against the Chargers and haul in four of five targets for 40 yards. He opened this week with a full practice Wednesday, only to be limited Thursday and a DNP on Friday. Despite the lack of activity to end the week, Hopkins was given a questionable designation for Sunday, and it appears active status will be confirmed for him about 90 minutes before a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Sep 22, 2023
Listed as questionable for Sunday
Hopkins (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns after missing practice Friday.
ANALYSIS
Though Hopkins didn't practice last week, he played last weekend against the Chargers, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site notes. This time around, Hopkins indicated that the plan is for him to make the trip to Cleveland, with his Sunday status to be determined. Fortunately for those with designs on utilizing Hopkins in Week 3 lineups, the Titans kick off at 1:00 ET this weekend.
Sep 22, 2023
Not spotted at Friday's practice
Hopkins (ankle) wasn't spotted at practice Friday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was limited at Thursday's practice, so his absence from the initial stages of Friday's session is worth noting. The Titans' upcoming injury report will officially confirm the wideout's participation level as well as clarify whether Hopkins approaches Sunday's game against the Browns with a Week 3 injury designation.
Sep 21, 2023
Puts in limited practice Thursday
Hopkins (ankle) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After failing to practice in any fashion last week, Hopkins took a questionable tag into this past Sunday's game against the Chargers but proceeded to suit up and play 59 percent of the snaps on offense in the 27-24 overtime win. Hopkins returned to practice Wednesday as a full participant and appeared to have put the ankle issue behind him, only to show up as a limited participant a day later. The Titans haven't indicated whether Hopkins suffered an in-practice setback Thursday, or if his limitations were maintenance-related. Assuming the latter case, Hopkins should still have a good chance at being available this weekend in Cleveland to handle his usual high-volume role in the Tennessee passing attack.
Sep 20, 2023
Practices without limitations
Hopkins (ankle) was a full participant in practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins made it through Sunday's 27-24 win over the Chargers without any reported setbacks, but this nonetheless comes as a minor surprise after he was limited to 59 percent snap share and five targets only three days earlier. It seems his ankle has improved quite a bit since the middle of last week, so Hopkins should play more snaps this coming Sunday on the road against a tough Cleveland secondary.
Sep 17, 2023
Targetedfive times
Hopkins recorded four receptions on five targets for 40 yards in Sunday's 27-24 overtime win over the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins took the field Sunday despite not practicing throughout the week due to an ankle injury. While he toughed out the issue, his performance was clearly affected, as he was on the field for only 37 offensive snaps -- amounting to 59 percent -- per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com. Assuming Hopkins can improve with some additional rest between now and the team's Week 3 matchup against the Browns, he should reassume a larger role in the offense.
Sep 17, 2023
Good to go for Sunday
Hopkins (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Despite failing to practice in any capacity this week while managing the ankle injury, Hopkins will get the green light to suit up Sunday. No reports have suggested that Hopkins will be in store for any limitations Week 2, so the veteran wideout could again be in line to serve as quarterback Ryan Tannehill's top target in the passing game. In his Tennessee debut in last week's 16-15 loss to New Orleans, Hopkins recorded seven catches for 65 yards on 13 targets.
Sep 16, 2023
Expects to play Week 2
Hopkins (ankle) is expected to play in Sunday's Week 2 matchup with the Chargers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was a non-participant at practice all week, but it looks like the Titans were simply exercising caution with their No. 1 pass catcher. Still, he has not officially been cleared to play. The veteran receiver hauled in seven passes on 13 targets for 65 yards in Week 1.
Sep 15, 2023
Gets questionable tag for Week 2
Tennessee lists Hopkins (ankle) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was listed as a non-participant at practices Wednesday and Thursday and was absent during the media-access portion of Friday's session, but the lack of on-field activity this week apparently doesn't eliminate his chances of playing Sunday. Per Hopkins told John Glennon of NashvillePost.com on Friday that he's still been preparing this week as though he'll play Sunday, perhaps suggesting that his absences from practice may have been in part maintenance-related. Whatever the case, Hopkins' Week 2 status won't be resolved one way or the other until the Titans release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. If Hopkins ends up sidelined for the contest, wideouts Treylon Burks and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo would represent the top options in the passing game available to quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
Sep 15, 2023
Not practicing Friday
Hopkins (ankle) isn't participating in Friday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins sat out practices Wednesday and Thursday with the ankle injury, so his continued absence for the Titans' final Week 2 session isn't the most reassuring sign about his prospects of suiting up Sunday against the Chargers. During his previous stops in Houston and Arizona, Hopkins often missed practice time in a given week while still being active for game days, so fantasy managers may have some reason to be optimistic that his absences this week might have been at least in part maintenance-related. In any event, shortly after Friday's session concludes, the Titans will release their final Week 2 practice report, which will reveal whether Hopkins is ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers or if he carries an injury designation into the contest.
Sep 14, 2023
Still not practicing
Hopkins (ankle) wasn't spotted at Thursday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins didn't practice Wednesday, so the wideout's continued absence puts the focus firmly on what he's able to do at Friday's practice. On the plus side for the Titans, Treylon Burks was back on the field Thursday after missing Wednesday's session due to a personal matter. If Hopkins is out or limited Sunday against the Chargers, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and/or Chris Moore would be candidates to see added Week 2 opportunities.
Sep 13, 2023
Misses practice Wednesday
Hopkins (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Meanwhile, fellow WR Treylon Burks was excused from practice on Wednesday for personal reasons, but is expected back Thursday. With a missed session under his belt due to an ankle issue, Hopkins' status is now worth monitoring as Sunday's game against the Chargers approaches. In the Titans' Week 1 loss to the Saints, Hopkins caught seven passes on 13 targets for 65 yards.
Sep 10, 2023
Dominate targets in Tennessee debut
Hopkins recorded seven receptions on 13 targets for 65 yards in Sunday's 16-15 loss to the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins got acclimated to the Tennessee offense quickly, as he was targeted on 38.2 percent of Ryan Tannehill's pass attempts. His efficiency was a different story, and he averaged only five yards per target while managing long gains 16, 15 and 12 yards. Treylon Burks should see his role grow as the season moves forward, but Hopkins is clearly the priority to see opportunity in the Titans' offense.
Jul 24, 2023
Deal becomes official
Hopkins officially agreed to terms with the Titans on Monday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran wideout, who was let go by the Cardinals back in May, is thus in line to headline a Titans wideout corps that also features 2022 first-rounder Treylon Burks, as well as Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Kyle Philips and Chris Moore. Hopkins recorded a 64/717/3 stat line (on 96 targets) in nine games with Arizona last season, but assuming the 31-year-old remains healthy, his looming role in Tennessee's offense should result in plenty of targets, and in turn weekly fantasy relevance, this coming season.
Jul 16, 2023
Expected to sign with Tennessee
Hopkins is expected to sign with the Titans, Doug Kyed of AtoZSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kyed dropped the news Sunday, but he noted that the deal isn't expected to become official for a few days. This doesn't come as a surprise, as Hopkins was rumored to be deciding between either the Patriots or Titans, and over the last few days, it appeared Tennessee was turning up the heat in its pursuit of the three-time All-Pro wideout. Hopkins instantly becomes the No. 1 wide receiver for the Titans and will give whichever quarterback wins the starting job a steady, reliable target. The 31-year-old missed the first six games of the 2022 campaign due to a suspension, but he was productive across nine appearances with Arizona, totaling 64 receptions on 96 targets for 717 yards and three touchdowns.
Jun 22, 2023
Has offers, hoping for third suitor
Hopkins is taking his time weighing offers from the Patriots and Titans, hoping to get more teams involved, Chris Mason of The Springfield Republican reports.
ANALYSIS
The two teams that have shown the most interest aren't especially likely to make deep playoff runs even if they add Hopkins to their currently undermanned WR rooms. The 31-year-old hopes to drum up more interest this summer so he can sign with a better team and/or receive more money than he's currently being offered. Hopkins has about five weeks to decide before NFL teams open training camp and practice again, though he can get his hands on a new playbook sooner if he signs earlier in the summer.
Jun 9, 2023
In line to visit Patriots
Hopkins is reportedly slated to meet with the Patriots next week, Evan Lazar of the team's official site notes.
ANALYSIS
The report relays that Hopkins, who was recently let go by the Cardinals, also plans to visit the Titans and potentially other teams in addition to the Patriots. If Hopkins ends up signing with New England, Lazar suggests that that the 31-year-old "would immediately give (the team's) offense a legit "X" receiver who would draw top coverage assignments, alter defensive game plans, and establish a proper pecking order in the Pats passing game." For now the Patriots' wideout corps is headed by JuJu Smith-Schuster, DeVante Parker, Tyquan Thornton and Kendrick Bourne, though if Hopkins entered the mix, it's possible that the team could consider moving on from either Parker or Bourne, according to Dakota Randall of NESN.com.
Jun 7, 2023
Meeting with Tennessee this weekend
Hopkins is scheduled to fly to Nashville on Sunday for a visit with the Titans, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Pelissero added that the Titans aren't the only team speaking with Hopkins, who was released by the Cardinals at the end of May, but the wideout's impending visit shows the two sides have mutual interest. Hopkins and Titans head coach Mike Vrabel were together in Houston for a few years, but Vrabel was a linebacker coach and then a defensive coordinator, so they weren't working directly with each other every day. The five-time Pro Bowler has also publicly been connected with the Browns, Patriots, Bills, Chiefs and Giants.
May 26, 2023
Released by Cardinals
The Cardinals released Hopkins on Friday.
ANALYSIS
A suspension and knee injury limited Hopkins to nine appearances last season, but his per-game numbers -- 7.1 catches for 79.7 yards and 0.33 TDs -- remained prolific. He now becomes a free agent two weeks before his 31st birthday and is instantly the top player on the post-draft market at any position. Prior to his release, Hopkins was scheduled for a non-guaranteed $19.45 million salary in 2023 and $14.92 million in 2024.
May 22, 2023
Not at voluntary OTAs
Hopkins isn't at voluntary OTAs but has been talking to teammates and working out with private trainers, Darren Urban of azcardinals.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was oft-mentioned in trade rumors earlier this spring, before he posted an Instagram story May 1 (on the heels of the NFL Draft) suggesting he didn't want to leave. He sounds more open to a trade in a recent interview with the I AM ATHLETE podcast, though he also said he thinks the Cardinals are "in good hands" with new GM Monti Ossenfort. While the soon-to-be 31-year-old wideout might seem an odd fit on a team many consider to rebuilding under a new front office and new coaching staff, Hopkins seems to think the Cardinals have enough veteran talent to be competitive. Still, it won't be shocking if he's traded at some point this spring/summer, nor will it come as any surprise if the Cards struggle through another lackluster campaign.
Apr 28, 2023
Draft trade not anticipated by GM
GM Monti Ossenfort indicated that he doesn't expect the Cardinals to trade Hopkins during the NFL Draft, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
When asked if the veteran wideout might be on the move as the draft progresses, Ossenfort noted Thursday, "I don't foresee that happening," adding "DeAndre's a Cardinal...and we're moving forward." That said, considering Hopkins' looming $30.75 million salary cap hit in 2023, it's possible that offseason trade speculation regarding the 30-year-old could linger after the draft is over. For now, however, Hopkins sits atop an Arizona WR depth chart that also includes Marquise Brown and Rondale Moore. In nine games with the Cards last season, Hopkins recorded a 64/717/3 receiving line.

Not at voluntary workouts
Hopkins wasn't present for the start of Arizona's voluntary workout program Tuesday, according to Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official website.
ANALYSIS
With two years left on his deal, Hopkins has already been granted permission to seek a trade, though there's been zero traction on that front. When asked if Hopkins will show up to Arizona, new coach Jonathan Gannon replied, "We'll see." Hopkins has been working out on his own and is currently in Texas. Turning 31 this summer, Hopkins has no desire to be part of the Cardinals' rebuild, especially with Kyler Murray (knee) unlikely to be ready for the start of the season.
Mar 27, 2023
Has permission to seek trade
The Cardinals have granted permission to Hopkins' (knee) representatives to discuss trades with other teams, Albert Breer of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing just two games in the first eight years of his career, Hopkins has been absent for 15 games the past two seasons due to a combination of injuries and a suspension. He's still produced when on the field, though, totaling 106 catches (on 160 targets) for 1,289 yards and 11 touchdowns in 19 appearances during that span. Despite Breer's report, new coach Jonathan Gannon told Steve Wyche of NFL Network at the Annual League Meeting on Sunday that he's "operating that he's a Cardinal right now" when asked about Hopkins. Hopkins' situation may continue to linger due to his 2023 base salary of $19.45 million, his age (he turns 31 in June) and his recent inability to be available to Arizona's offense.

Out for Week 18
Hopkins (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's regular-season finale against the 49ers, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 30-year-old wideout missed the first six games of the season due to a suspension and the final two with a knee injury. In between, he averaged 7.1 catches for 79.7 yards on 10.7 targets with three TDs in nine games, essentially providing his usual level of fantasy production until things fell apart Week 16 when third-string QB Trace McSorley completed only one of his 10 throws to Hopkins in what ended up being the wideout's final appearance of the season. Hopkins is signed through 2024, but he could be the subject of trade rumors this offseason with a non-guaranteed $19.45 million salary looming in 2023. Even if he stays in Arizona, there's a lot of uncertainty with coach Kliff Kingsbury a candidate to be fired and QB Kyler Murray recovering from an ACL tear.
Dec 31, 2022
Not playing Sunday
Hopkins (knee) has been downgraded and will not play in Sunday's game against the Falcons, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Considering Hopkins left Friday's practice early, it certainly appeared as if the knee injury was relatively serious and Saturday's designation confirms the notion. It's entirely possible Hopkins could be shut down for the rest of the season considering Week 18 means nothing in terms of the Cardinals' playoff hopes, but the team has yet to make anything official in that regard. Marquise Brown and Greg Dortch figure to get more opportunities with Hopkins out, although the prospect of third-stringer David Blough throwing the duo the ball might be an unenviably situation for fantasy managers.
Dec 30, 2022
Questionable with knee injury
Hopkins (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Potential shadow coverage from Falcons CB A.J. Terrell is the least of Hopkins' problems with David Blough set to start at QB for the Cardinals and their star wideout now considered questionable. Hopkins left Friday's practice early -- early enough to be considered a non-participant rather than limited -- and thus appears truly in danger of landing on the inactive list ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. A Hopkins absence would boost the volume projections for WRs Marquise Brown, Greg Dortch and A.J. Green, plus TE Trey McBride.
Dec 30, 2022
Leaves practice with knee injury
Hopkins left Friday's practice early with a knee injury, and the Cardinals will see how he feels Saturday before making a decision for Sunday's game in Atlanta, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bad news seems to come in bunches for the Cardinals this year, and a potential absence for their No. 1 receiver was announced at the same time Colt McCoy was ruled out due to a recurrence of concussion symptoms. David Blough will be the fourth QB to start for the Cardinals this year, and he may not have Hopkins at his disposal. Many fantasy managers will be left with tough decisions if Hopkins plays, as he might play fewer snaps than usual and see his targets from someone less accurate than McCoy.
Dec 30, 2022
Leaves practice early
Hopkins left Friday's practice early, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins wasn't listed on the injury report Wednesday or Thursday, and this now creates some concern he could be added Friday. The good news is that Colt McCoy is back under center for the Cardinals after Trace McSorley connected with Hopkins just once on 10 targets in last week's overtime loss to Tampa Bay.
Dec 26, 2022
Inefficient night with McSorley
Hopkins brought in just one of 10 targets for four yards in the Cardinals' 19-16 overtime loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday night.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins' highly alarming stat line was partly the byproduct of his unfamiliarity with spot starter Trace McSorley, who stepped in for Colt McCoy (concussion) on Sunday. The veteran wideout's meager reception and yardage totals both matched career-low figures he'd set way back in Week 4 of his rookie 2016 campaign with the Texans, and he should therefore have nowhere to go but up in a favorable Week 17 road matchup against the Falcons, irrespective of who's under center.
Dec 18, 2022
Tallies seven receptions
Hopkins recorded seven receptions on 11 targets for 60 yards in Sunday's 24-15 loss to the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins paced Arizona's pass catchers in every statistical category, and he managed a respectable performance despite playing with the team's second and third-string quarterbacks. Due to the quality of quarterback play, Hopkins was forced to work primarily in the short areas of the field, as his longest catch went for 18 yards and only two of his catches went for double-digit gains. Hopkins' role in the offense is safe moving forward, though he could continue to struggle to put up exceptional numbers due to the state of the Arizona offense -- particularly if Colt McCoy (concussion) remains sidelined for a Week 16 matchup with Tampa Bay.
Dec 12, 2022
Paces pass-catching corps in loss
Hopkins brought in seven of 11 targets for 79 yards and lost a fumble in the Cardinals' 27-13 loss to the Patriots on Monday night.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins recorded all his numbers in conjunction with veteran quarterback Colt McCoy, who was called on after Kyler Murray suffered what appeared to be a serious knee injury on the Cardinals' third play of the game. Hopkins' reception, yardage and target totals were all team-high figures on the night, and with double-digit looks in five of his first seven games of the season, the star wideout there's little doubt the star wideout will remain an integral part of the air attack irrespective of who's under center.
Dec 9, 2022
Back at practice in full
Hopkins (illness) was a full participant at Friday's walk-through practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was held out of the Cardinals' first practice session of the week Thursday due to the ailment, but his ability to take every rep one day later clears up any concern about his status heading into Monday's game against the Patriots. Since debuting in Week 7 after serving a six-game suspension to begin the season, Hopkins has stepped into a high-volume role in the Arizona passing game. In six appearances, Hopkins has cobbled together a 49-574-3 receiving line on 64 targets.
Dec 8, 2022
Dealing with illness
Hopkins didn't practice Thursday due to an illness, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com, Hopkins wasn't seen during the portion of the session open to the media, and now the reason for his absence has come into focus. Hopkins will have a pair of chances to get in some on-field work this week before the Cardinals potentially hand him a designation for Monday's game against the Patriots. Rondale Moore (groin) joined Hopkins as a non-participant Thursday, so Marquise Brown, A.J. Green, Greg Dortch (thumb) and Robbie Anderson currently are the healthy wide receivers on Arizona's active roster.
Nov 27, 2022
Tallies third touchdown
Hopkins recorded four receptions on six targets for 87 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 25-24 loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
For the first time this season, Hopkins shared the field with Marquise Brown and seemingly lost targets as a result. Hopkins still managed a relatively strong performance, highlighted by long gains of 33, 29 and 21 yards -- the first of which went for his third touchdown of the season. One game can't perfectly predict how Hopkins will be used with Brown back in the fold, but the initial returns suggest he'll have to rely upon big plays to remain an elite producer.
Nov 21, 2022
Starts hot, fades
Hopkins recorded nine receptions on 12 targets for 91 yards in Monday's 38-10 loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was questionable to play entering Monday's matchup due to a hamstring injury, but he showed few signs of that issue early in the game. He recorded three receptions for 40 yards on the team's first two offensive possessions and ended the first half with seven catches and 77 yards. However, the Cardinals' offense collapsed in the final two quarters, which resulted in Hopkins' production following suit. Despite the disappointing close to the game, he has earned at least 12 targets in four of his five games on the campaign.
Nov 21, 2022
Suiting up Monday
Hopkins (hamstring) is listed as active Monday versus the 49ers in Mexico City, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
There's been a cloud hanging over Hopkins' head since he didn't practice last Thursday due to a hamstring injury. In the meantime, he managed back-to-back limited sessions, and the Cardinals gave him a questionable tag for Week 11 action. Earlier Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that while the team initially was unsure if Hopkins would be able to play, the tide was turning in his favor to do so. Following a pregame workout, Hopkins was deemed healthy enough to suit up, but he won't be joined by No. 1 quarterback Kyler Murray, who is missing a second straight game with a hamstring issue of his own. Instead, Hopkins will be on the receiving end of passes from Colt McCoy, with whom the wide receiver connected 10 times for 98 yards on 14 targets during a Week 10 win at the Rams.
Nov 21, 2022
Trending toward playing Monday
Hopkins (hamstring), who is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the 49ers in Mexico City, appears likely to be available for the contest, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins received a designation for Monday's contest after the hamstring injury popped up during Week 11 prep and rendered him a limited participant in practice sessions Friday and Saturday. While Rapoport notes that the Cardinals initially feared Hopkins would have to miss the Mexico City game, the team came away with "much more optimism" about the wideout's health after getting the chance to evaluate him later in the week. Hopkins may still have to check out OK during a pregame workout to get the green light to play, but so long as he avoids the inactive list ahead of Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff, he shouldn't face any major restrictions with his snap count. He'll likely be working with Colt McCoy at quarterback for the second week in a row, however, as Kyler Murray (hamstring) is listed as questionable but appears to be trending toward another absence.
Nov 19, 2022
Questionable for primetime
Hopkins (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the 49ers, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was a limited participant in practice both Friday and Saturday, which would seem to indicate the veteran will be available in the important divisional contest. Far more concerning is the possible absence of quarterback Kyler Murray (hamstring), who is also listed as questionable having registered three days of limited participation in practice. Murray's status, along with the possible return of Marquise Brown (foot) off injured reserve, appear to be the far more complicating factors in Hopkins' fantasy value than his availability Monday.
Nov 18, 2022
Logs limited practice Friday
Hopkins (hamstring) practiced in a limited capacity Friday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins made a sudden appearance on Thursday's injury report as a non-participant due to a hamstring issue, explaining his absence from the media-access portion of that session. On Friday, coach Kliff Kingsbury clarified the situation, telling Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com that Hopkins' DNP was maintenance-related. With a capped practice under his belt, Hopkins has one more chance to get back to all activity Saturday before Arizona potentially gives him a designation for Monday's game against the 49ers in Mexico City.
Nov 18, 2022
Returns to practice
Hopkins (hamstring) is practicing Friday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins returns to practice after sitting out Thursday, putting him on track to play in Monday's game against the 49ers. His level of participation remains to be seen, and it's also unclear if QB Kyler Murray (hamstring) has made enough progress to play. Urban notes that Murray ran the length of the field before Friday's practice, likely preparing for another day of limited participation.
Nov 17, 2022
Tending to hamstring issue
Hopkins didn't practice Thursday due to a hamstring injury, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site, Hopkins wasn't present at the open portion of the team's first session of Week 11 prep. In his first two seasons with Arizona, Hopkins often was given a day off from practice per week for non-injury reasons, but this time around he's dealing with a health concern. As a result, his status will be one to watch closely in the coming days to ensure he isn't danger of missing Monday's game against the 49ers in Mexico City.
Nov 13, 2022
Ten catches from backup QB
Hopkins caught 10 of 14 targets for 98 yards in Sunday's 27-17 win over the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Kyler Murray (hamstring) was inactive, but Hopkins didn't miss a beat with Colt McCoy under center for the Cardinals instead. The 30-year-old wideout has seen at least 13 targets in three of four games since making his belated season debut, turning that outstanding volume into 36 catches for 396 yards and two TDs, and Hopkins figures to be productive again in Week 11 against the 49ers regardless of whether McCoy or Murray is holding the reins on the offense.
Nov 6, 2022
Scores TD against Seattle
Hopkins caught four of five targets for 36 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-21 loss to the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
The veteran wideout failed to reach triple-digit receiving yards for the first time in three games since making his belated season debut, but Hopkins salvaged his afternoon by getting into the end zone for the second straight contest. He'll look for more target volume in a Week 10 road matchup against the Rams.
Oct 30, 2022
Spectacular numbers in loss
Hopkins secured 12 of 13 targets for 159 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals' 34-26 loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins easily paced the Cardinals in receptions, receiving yards and targets, one-upping his impressive 10-catch, 103-yard Week 7 season debut. The accomplished veteran's final grab of the day was an impressive contested 24-yard reception that set the Cardinals up at the Vikings' 37-yard line with 27 seconds remaining, but Arizona wasn't able to drive the rest of the way to put itself in position for a tie. However, Hopkins' performance was an unqualified success from an individual perspective, and he'll aim to extend his red-hot season-opening start at the expense of the Seahawks in a Week 9 divisional matchup.
Oct 20, 2022
Stellar in season debut
Hopkins (suspension) brought in 10 of 14 targets for 103 yards in the Cardinals' 42-34 win over the Saints on Thursday night. He also fumbled once but recovered.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins didn't waste any time making an impact, although a significant chunk of his production came in the second half once he got clicking with Kyler Murray. The standout wideout naturally makes a big difference for Murray, who now has led the Cardinals to a 9-2 record in games he's played with Hopkins, and opens up opportunities for the rest of the offense as well. Given his significant target and snap share in his first game back, Hopkins' fantasy outlook will be exceedingly rosy heading into a Week 8 road matchup versus the Vikings a week from Sunday.
Oct 17, 2022
Activated to 53-man roster
Arizona activated Hopkins, who served a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substances policy, to the 53-man roster Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins missed the end of the 2021 campaign due to an MCL sprain, but he moved past that injury during the offseason and is expected to be full go in Week 7. There's a little concern that the wideout won't have a full week of practice under his belt before he makes his first appearance of the season, but there hasn't been any reports about the wideout being limited during Thursday's matchup against the Saints. With Marquise Brown (ankle) sidelined for the foreseeable future, Hopkins should be the clear No. 1 target moving forward.
Aug 16, 2022
Getting work in 10 personnel
Coach Kliff Kingsbury said the Cardinals ran some 10 personnel with Hopkins (suspension) and A.J. Green serving as outside receivers and Marquise Brown (hamstring) and Rondale Moore in the slot at Monday's practice, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Monday marked the first occasion since the start of training camp in which both Kyler Murray and Brown both practiced, and it appears the offense was working on air raid concepts, perhaps with the regular season in mind. Hopkins himself won't be able to suit up until Week 7 (Thursday, Oct. 20 against the Saints) due to his six-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, but he's at least been healthy in training camp after an injury-plagued 2021. While his impact on the field won't be felt until late October, the three-time first team All-Pro could be a beneficiary of Kingsbury's game planning once he's available.
Jun 6, 2022
To be healthy for training camp
Hopkins, who will serve a six-game suspension to begin the 2022 season, is expected to healthy for training camp, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. "He's been moving around well, and I think he's right on schedule," coach Kliff Kingsbury said after Monday's OTA session.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins had a down year for his standards in 2021, tending to multiple injuries that capped him to 10 appearances and a 42-572-8 line on 64 targets. In particular, he didn't play after Week 14 due to an MCL sprain that required surgery on Dec. 17. In early May, Hopkins suffered another setback, albeit not on the health front, when the NFL handed down a suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. While he won't be eligible to play until a Week 7 matchup with the Saints, he can take part in training camp practices and preseason games, if the Cards deems it valuable for him to do so. In any case, the 30-year-old wideout will yield reps on the outside to newcomer Marquise Brown, A.J. Green and Antoine Wesley while Rondale Moore mans the slot from Weeks 1-6.
May 2, 2022
Won't appeal suspension
Hopkins withdrew the appeal of the six-game suspension he received from the NFL on Monday for violating the league's performance-enhancing substances policy, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With the news that he won't seek a reduction in the suspension, Hopkins will end up missing 11 straight contests, as he was sidelined for the final four games of the 2021 regular season in addition to the Cardinals' wild-card round loss to the Rams due to a torn MCL in his knee. Per the terms of his suspension, Hopkins remains eligible to participate in all offseason practices and preseason games, so he'll at least be a part of the team environment over the next several months. While Hopkins is out, the newly acquired Marquise Brown is expected to operate as the Cardinals' No. 1 receiver, with A.J. Green, Rondale Moore and Antoine Wesley profiling as the top options behind him on the depth chart.
May 2, 2022
Handed six-game suspension
The NFL issued a six-game suspension to Hopkins on Monday for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins could choose to appeal the suspension, but if the six-game ban stands, he would appear in 11 games or fewer for the second season in a row. The Cardinals may have been aware of a possible suspension for Hopkins, given their surprise acquisition of Marquise Brown from the Ravens on Thursday. If Hopkins does in fact miss time early on in the 2022 season, Brown, A.J. Green and Rondale Moore would likely operate as the primary wideouts for quarterback Kyler Murray.
Mar 18, 2022
Restructures contract
Hopkins (knee) and the Cardinals agreed to a restructured contract earlier this week, AZ Sports 98.7 FM reports.
ANALYSIS
The restructure gives Arizona an additional $10.7 million in cap space, but WR Christian Kirk (Jaguars) and RB Chase Edmonds (Dolphins) both are headed to Florida nonetheless. The Cardinals did retain two key free agents on offense, TE Zach Ertz and RB James Conner, and they presumably expect WR Rondale Moore to have a bigger role in his second pro season. That still leaves Hopkins as an overwhelming favorite to lead the team in targets, assuming he has better luck staying on the field this year. To that end, he was expected to complete his rehab from MCL surgery at some point in February, potentially giving him enough time to gain full clearance for spring practices. Hopkins will turn 30 in June, right around the time the Cardinals meet for mandatory minicamp.
Jan 18, 2022
Will complete recovery in February
Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Tuesday that Hopkins (knee) is expected to be 100 percent within the next month, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
For the first time in his nine-year career, Hopkins missed significant time due to injury. First, he sat out Weeks 9-11 due to a hamstring strain. After suiting up Weeks 13 and 14, Hopkins suffered what was eventually revealed to be a sprained MCL that required surgery and a likely 2-to-4-month recovery. There was talk that he may healthy enough to return if the Cardinals reached the NFC Championship Game, but the team was unceremoniously bounced from the playoffs by the Rams in the wild-card round. With no possibility to play again during the current campaign, the 29-year-old will focus on rehabbing his knee and shouldn't have a problem being available for the offseason program. The composition of the receiving corps around Hopkins may be much different at that time due to the pending unrestricted free agencies of A.J. Green, Christian Kirk, Zach Ertz and Maxx Williams (knee).
Dec 19, 2021
Still eyeing late-postseason return
Hopkins (knee) could be ready to come off injured reserve if the Cardinals advance to the NFC Championship Game, but a return any earlier than that is considered "unrealistic," a source tells Adam Schefter of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins underwent surgery Friday to address a torn MCL, an injury that Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reported was expected to require a 2-to-4-month recovery timeline. The NFC Championship Game will be held Jan. 30 -- approximately seven weeks after Hopkins underwent surgery -- so the Cardinals may have some hope that the star wideout can narrowly beat the short end of that timeline. Ultimately, how Hopkins progresses in his recovery over the next month or so will dictate whether he's on track to play late in the postseason, and even in a best-case scenario, he would likely be on a limited snap count.
Dec 18, 2021
Officially on injured reserve
The Cardinals placed Hopkins (knee) on injured reserve Saturday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was poised to miss significant time due to a torn MCL, which was supposed to be addressed via surgery Friday. He has a wide range of recovery timelines, from six weeks on the low end to as much as 2-to-4 months on the other, per Josina Anderson of CBS Sports. Clearly, the latter timetable would rule Hopkins out through the entire postseason, but in any case the Cardinals will roll with A.J. Green, Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore, Antoine Wesley and Andy Isabella at wide receiver for the rest of the regular season and likely the playoffs, too.
Dec 16, 2021
Team fears 2-to-4-month absence
The Cardinals are bracing for the possibility of Hopkins (knee) missing "2-to-4 months" once he undergoes surgery Friday in Los Angeles to address a torn MCL, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Anderson adds that at least for the time being, the Cardinals aren't expecting Hopkins to play again in the regular season or postseason. The report differs slightly from one provided earlier Thursday by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, who relayed that Hopkins will likely be in store for a six-week recovery period, a timeline that would give him a shot to play if the Cardinals make a deep postseason run. More consensus on a timeline for Hopkins could come once surgery is completed Friday and the Cardinals are familiar with the extent of his operation, but in any case, the star receiver can safely be ruled out for Arizona's remaining four games of the regular season. With Hopkins out of the mix, wideouts A.J. Green, Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore and Antoine Wesley, tight end Zach Ertz and running backs James Conner (ankle) and Chase Edmonds (ankle) will represent quarterback Kyler Murray's top targets in the passing game for the foreseeable future.
Dec 16, 2021
Set for surgery, may miss six weeks
Hopkins (knee) will meet with Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on Thursday and is expected to undergo surgery soon after to address a badly torn MCL, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. He's expected to face a six-week recovery period, with a goal of returning to action in late January.
ANALYSIS
After he was diagnosed with a sprained knee following an MRI on Tuesday, Hopkins sought a second opinion on his injury Wednesday, at which time surgery was recommended for the star wideout. He'll heed the advice of doctors and have the procedure, which will knock him out for the remainder of the regular season, and quite likely, the at least the first two rounds of the playoffs. The 10-3 Cardinals will clinch a playoff spot with a win over the Lions in Week 15 and are still in good position to get a bye for the wild-card round, but Hopkins would likely remain out through the divisional round, if the six-week estimated timeline holds. Expect Arizona to formally place Hopkins on injured reserve no later than Saturday, but fantasy managers in redraft leagues can already comfortably drop the receiver from active rosters. He'll finish his second regular season in Arizona with 42 receptions for 572 yards and eight touchdowns across 10 games.
Dec 15, 2021
To miss rest of regular season
Hopkins is in line to miss the remainder of the regular season due to a knee sprain, with the hope he'll be available for the playoffs, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Schefter, Hopkins is receiving a second opinion on his knee with Dr. Neal ElAttrache, which could result in the wideout requiring surgery. With Hopkins sidelined, the Cardinals will be down to A.J. Green, Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore, Antoine Wesley and Andy Isabella at the position for the foreseeable future.
Dec 15, 2021
Getting second opinion
Coach Kliff Kingsbury relayed that Hopkins is slated to get a second opinion on his leg injury Wednesday following his initial MRI, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
With that in mind, Hopkins' status for Sunday's game against the Lions has yet to determined, and if he's out or limited this weekend or beyond, added looks would be available for fellow WRs A.J. Green, Christian Kirk and Rondale Moore. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Hopkins, who is thought to be dealing with a knee issue, won't participate in Wednesday's walk-through.
Dec 14, 2021
Undergoing MRI Tuesday
Coach Kliff Kingbury disclosed Tuesday that Hopkins is undergoing an MRI for a leg injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins missed time earlier in the season for a hamstring injury, but Kingsbury was unwilling to disclose any more information about why the scan was done. Hopkins missing additional time would be a huge hit to the Cardinals receiving corps as they continue their pursuit of the top seed in the NFC. A.J. Green, Christian Kirk and rookie Rondale Moore would all figure to see added looks should Hopkins wind up missing any time.
Dec 13, 2021
Frustrating performance Monday
Hopkins caught 5 of 12 targets for 54 yards in Monday night's 30-23 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins got going with a pair of first-down gains early, but he narrowly missed out on a couple consecutive end-zone targets from close range in the second quarter. The wideout then dropped a critical fourth-and-two pass during the third, adding to his frustrations. With a few failed contested targets to end the game, it overall was a performance to forget from Hopkins, who will hope to rebound in a great matchup versus the Lions in Week 15.
Dec 5, 2021
Pair of grabs in return
Hopkins (hamstring) brought in both targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals' 33-22 win over the Bears on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The veteran wideout wasted no time proving his return to health when he found the end zone in the first quarter on a 20-yard connection with Kyler Murray (ankle), who was also making his return from a three-game absence. Coach Kliff Kingsbury deployed the passing game sparingly most of the afternoon, however, and Hopkins was handled with care with an eye on the stretch run and subsequent postseason. However, the air attack, and by extension, Hopkins, figures to play a much more prominent role during a key Week 14 Monday night home battle against the Rams.
Dec 5, 2021
Returning to action Sunday
Hopkins (hamstring) is listed as active Sunday in Chicago, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Coming off Arizona's Week 12 bye, Hopkins logged a pair of limited practices while sitting out Thursday's session as he attempted to put a hamstring issue in the rearview mirror. While the activity was enough to put an end to a three-game absence -- which surpassed the total absences (two) in the first eight campaigns of his career -- he may operate under a snap count to avoid a setback and also due to the rainy conditions in Chicago, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Still, the Cardinals offense will welcome back the Hopkins-Kyler Murray combination, which has amounted to 78.9 yards per game and 13 touchdowns in 24 contests together.
Dec 5, 2021
Coach confirms Week 13 return
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury told Stacey Dales of NFL Network that Hopkins (hamstring) will play Sunday against the Bears, despite being listed as questionable for the contest after missing the Cardinals' previous three games.
ANALYSIS
Kingsbury confirmed that both of Arizona's top two skill-position players will put an end to their three-game, four-week absences Week 13, as starting quarterback Kyler Murray (ankle) also received the green light to return to the lineup. Hopkins' injury designation won't officially be lifted until Arizona releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, but the wideout should step back in as Murray's top target in the passing game. However, with Adam Schefter of ESPN relaying earlier Sunday that Hopkins could be used "more sparingly than usual" in his return to the lineup because of poor weather conditions in Chicago in addition to the long layoff due to injury, fantasy managers may want to temper expectations to some degree.
Dec 5, 2021
Could play reduced role
Hopkins (hamstring) is likely to play Sunday against the Bears but may be used in a smaller role than usual, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has been out since Week 8 while dealing with a hamstring injury and remains officially listed as questionable. While the injury has healed to the point that he's expected to be able to play in some capacity, poor weather conditions add increased risk Sunday, which could cause the Cardinals to limit his snaps.
Dec 3, 2021
Officially questionable
Hopkins (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Chicago, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins and coach Kliff Kingsbury downplayed the wideout's absence from Friday's practice, following limited participation Wednesday and Thursday. It might be nothing, but fantasy managers should stay tuned even after mid-week reports suggested both Hopkins and QB Kyler Murray (ankle) were on track to return this Sunday. Kingsbury, while mostly optimistic, did refer to both Hopkins and Murray as game-time decisions for Sunday. To that end, a 1:00 ET kickoff could prove helpful, with the Cardinals releasing their Week 13 inactive list Sunday morning.
Dec 3, 2021
Headed for game-time decision
Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Hopkins (hamstring) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with Chicago, Dana Scott of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Kingsbury seemed to downplay Hopkins' absence from the media-access portion of Friday's practice, saying the Cardinals wanted to be "smart" with their handling of the injury. Kingsbury also acknowledged some element of not wanting the opponent to know, especially when dealing with crucial players like Hopkins and QB Kyler Murray, who also is being treated as a game-time decision (with an ankle injury). There seems to be less concern over Murray than Hopkins, but both figure to be listed as questionable on the final injury report leading up to a 1:00 ET kickoff this Sunday.

Not seen at practice
Hopkins (hamstring) wasn't present for the media-access portion of Friday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
It's a concerning development after Hopkins was a limited practice participant Wednesday and Thursday, coming out of a Week 12 bye. The Cardinals play in Chicago this Sunday, kicking off at 1:00 ET. QB Kyler Murray (ankle) was present for the start of Friday's practice.
Dec 2, 2021
Limited again Thursday
Hopkins (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins and quarterback Kyler Murray (ankle) have logged back-to-back limited listings on Cardinals injury reports to kick off Week 13 prep. There's an expectation from the team that both players are slated to return to action Sunday in Chicago, barring a setback, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Hopkins has another opportunity Friday to handle every on-field rep, but no matter his activity level in that session the team may provide some insight into his ability to play this weekend. Ultimately, if he's listed as questionable, his status won't be confirmed until 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 1, 2021
Logs limited practice
Hopkins (hamstring) was limited at Wednesday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The same applies to QB Kyler Murray (ankle), with the duo's Week 13 status hinging on how things go for them at practice this week. Coach Kliff Kingsbury did note Wednesday that weather will not be a factor in determining Hopkins' availability for Sunday night's road game in Chicago.
Dec 1, 2021
Returns to practice
Hopkins (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday, Dana Scott of azcentral.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Coming out of a bye, coach Kliff Kingsbury said Monday that he's hopeful Hopkins can return for Sunday's game in Chicago. The wideout's first practice since Oct. 22 is a big step in the right direction, even if he's listed as a limited participant. Hopkins last played in a game Week 8 against Green Bay (Oct. 28).
Nov 29, 2021
Trending in right direction
Coach Kliff Kingsburry said Monday he's hopeful Hopkins (hamstring) will return to the field against Chicago in Week 13, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Kingsburry said the same of quarterback Kyler Murray (ankle), but added that he won't confirm anything until he's evaluated both offensive stars at practice. Hopkins is coming off three straight absences, but it looks like he's trending toward a return after also having a bye week to get healthy.
Nov 19, 2021
Out again this week
Hopkins (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game in Seattle, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins still hasn't practiced since Week 7 or played in a game since Week 8. With a bye coming up in Week 12, the Cardinals will hope to get their star wideout back in the lineup for a Week 13 contest in Chicago on Dec. 5. Meanwhile, QB Kyler Murray (ankle) appears headed for another game-time decision Sunday afternoon in Seattle.
Nov 18, 2021
Still not practicing
Hopkins (hamstring) didn't practice Thursday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins is approaching one month since his last appearance on the practice field (Oct. 22) and is exactly three weeks removed from his last game action (Oct. 28). With back-to-back games missed, he's matched his total DNPs from the first eight seasons of his career combined as he attempts to get past a nagging hamstring issue. The Cardinals are on bye after Sunday's visit to Seattle, so the team may be aiming for Hopkins to be healthy for a Week 13 road matchup with the Bears. Still, the star wideout has one more opportunity to practice this week and potentially change the tone around his availability.
Nov 17, 2021
Stays sidelined at practice
Hopkins (hamstring) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins now hasn't taken part in a practice since Oct. 22 and missed back-to-back games after being limited to two catches and 24 percent snap share in a Week 8 loss to the Packers. Prior to his current bout with a hamstring injury, he had missed just two games combined through his first eight seasons, so another absence Sunday in Seattle would eclipse that number. But with a Week 12 bye on tap, the Cardinals may be eyeing the post-midseason respite for Hopkins returning to action. Still, he has two sessions left this week to get on the field and potentially put himself on track for an appearance.
Nov 14, 2021
Another absence in Week 10
Hopkins (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
In Hopkins' last appearance, a Week 8 defeat to the Packers, he spent most of the contest on the sideline while earning 24 percent of the snaps on offense and notching two catches (on two targets) for 66 yards on a balky hamstring. In the meantime, he hasn't stepped foot on the practice field and missed one contest. With A.J. Green back from the reserve/COVID-19 list and Rondale Moore (neck) able to clear the concussion protocol, the Cardinals' group of wide receivers otherwise is healthy Week 10 (Christian Kirk, Antoine Wesley and Greg Dortch are the other options).
Nov 14, 2021
Not likely to play Sunday
Hopkins (hamstring) isn't expected to play Sunday against the Panthers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Rapoport, in the absence of an unexpected turn as the Cardinals' 4:05 ET kickoff approaches, Hopkins is trending toward another missed game. Meanwhile, the report adds that fellow wideout Rondale Moore (neck) should be available Sunday to work alongside A.J. Green and Christian Kirk.
Nov 12, 2021
Officially questionable
Hopkins (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Carolina, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
He was held out of practice all week but will still be given the chance to suit up in a game-time decisions. Hopkins seems less likely to play than both QB Kyler Murray (ankle) and WR Rondale Moore (concussion), both of whom are also being treated as game-day decisions ahead of Sunday's 4:05 ET kickoff. A.J. Green (illness) has been cleared to play.
Nov 12, 2021
Headed for game-day call
Coach Kliff Kingsbury expects Hopkins (hamstring) to be a game-time decision heading into Sunday's matchup with the Panthers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
It doesn't exactly look promising for Hopkins, who missed another practice Friday while starting QB Kyler Murray (ankle) rejoined his teammates. Still, the Cardinals likely will list Hopkins as questionable and give him another 48 hours to make progress with the hamstring before a 4:05 ET kickoff Sunday. Kingsbury said Murray and WR Rondale Moore (concussion) are also considered game-day decisions this week.
Nov 12, 2021
Not at practice
Hopkins (hamstring) doesn't appear to be practicing Friday morning, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's obviously a poor sign for his chances to play in Sunday's game against Carolina, though coach Kliff Kingsbury has mentioned before that Hopkins can suit up on a Sunday without practicing during the week. If there's any shot for that to happen, the Cardinals will list him as 'questionable' on their final injury report Friday afternoon.
Nov 11, 2021
Not practicing Thursday
Hopkins (hamstring) wasn't in attendance for Thursday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins will thus go down as a non-participant on the injury report for the second straight day. While the wideout historically hasn't needed full practice reps to gain clearance for game days, because Hopkins sat out last week's win over the 49ers with the hamstring injury, the Cardinals may want to see him get back on the field in some capacity Friday to feel good about his chances of suiting up Sunday against the Panthers. Along with Hopkins, starting quarterback Kyler Murray (ankle) missed last week's game and has yet to resume practicing, leaving the statuses of both of Arizona's offensive stars up in the air for Week 10.
Nov 10, 2021
Doesn't practice Wednesday
Hopkins (hamstring) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice estimate, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins continues to deal with a hamstring issue that has plagued him since preparations for a Week 8 matchup with the Packers. He was on and off the field during that contest, playing 24 percent of offensive snaps on his way to two catches (on two targets) for 66 yards. However, Hopkins didn't practice last week before the Cardinals deemed him inactive for Week 9 at San Francisco, and he appears to have the same reality this week. Like he said Monday, coach Kliff Kingsbury considers Hopkins to be day-to-day, per Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com, so the possibility exists for the wide receiver to get into practice Thursday and/or Friday. As for the rest of Arizona's wide receivers, A.J. Green (illness) remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list, while Rondale Moore (DNP, neck/concussion) was listed on the injury report, too.
Nov 8, 2021
Deemed to be day-to-day
Hopkins (hamstring) is considered day-to-day after missing Sunday's 31-17 win at San Francisco, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was inactive for the third time in his eight-plus seasons as a pro in Week 10. He'll look to get back on the practice field for the first time since Week 7 prep Wednesday through Friday, which would set himself up to return to action Sunday versus the Panthers. Coach Kliff Kingsbury was murky surrounding the state of quarterback Kyler Murray, who missed the first game of his career Week 9 due to a medial left ankle sprain. Kingsbury relayed he doesn't "have a feel" for Murray's potential to play Sunday. If Murray doesn't gain clearance to return this weekend but Hopkins does, the wide receiver will be on the receiving end of passes from Colt McCoy.
Nov 7, 2021
Not playing in Week 9
Hopkins (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game in San Francisco.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins gave it a go on his balky hamstring Week 8 against the Packers but managed just two catches (on two targets) on a 24 percent share of offensive snaps. He didn't practice at all this week before receiving a questionable designation for Sunday, and that trended more towards 'out' as the Cardinals became less hopeful for active status, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. After he worked out prior to the contest, Arizona has opted to keep Hopkins in street clothes along with Kyler Murray (ankle). With the premier QB-WR duo sidelined and A.J. Green (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Colt McCoy will be throwing to the likes of Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore, Antoine Wesley, Andy Isabella and Greg Dortch in Week 9.
Nov 7, 2021
Arizona not optimistic on status
Arizona doesn't sound optimistic that Hopkins will be able to play Sunday against San Francisco but he will test his injured hamstring in pregame warmups, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. He is listed as questionable on the official injury report.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins doesn't seem to have made much notable progress in his recovery from the injury, as he was listed as a non-participant in practices Wednesday through Friday. Even if he manages to suit up Sunday, he could face limitations on his snap count. Arizona may also be forced to use backup quarterback Colt McCoy with Kyler Murray also a game-time decision.
Nov 5, 2021
Viewed as game-day call
Hopkins (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest in San Francisco and is being viewed as a game-day decision by head coach Kliff Kingsbury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Since the Cardinals and 49ers won't kick off until 4:25 p.m. ET, fantasy managers planning on using Hopkins may have few alternatives at their disposal if the wideout ends up being sitting out or is limited in the contest. The latter scenario played out in the Cardinals' Week 8 loss to the Packers last Thursday, as Hopkins -- who had been nursing the hamstring injury coming into the contest -- played a season-low 24 percent of the team's offensive snaps and finished with two receptions for 66 yards. Though he had the benefit of a longer turnaround for the Week 9 contest, Hopkins doesn't seem to have made much notable progress in his recovery from the injury, as he was listed as a non-participant in practices Wednesday through Friday. Even if he manages to suit up Sunday and doesn't face any notable limitations with his snap count, Hopkins could be catching passes from backup quarterback Colt McCoy, as starter Kyler Murray (ankle) is also being treated as a game-day decision after failing to practice in any ca
Nov 5, 2021
Not present for practice
Hopkins (hamstring) wasn't on the field for the open portion of Friday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins looks destined to go down as a non-participant on the Cardinals' Week 9 practice report for the third day in a row, as does quarterback Kyler Murray (ankle). Head coach Kliff Kingsbury has previously said that Murray doesn't necessarily need to practice this week to suit up Sunday in San Francisco, and the same could apply for Hopkins, who has a history of suiting up in games with little or no practice reps beforehand. The Cardinals' final practice report will be revealed later Friday and will indicate whether Hopkins will carry a designation into the contest or be ruled out ahead of the contest. If he's listed as questionable, Hopkins' status could come down to a game-time decision ahead of Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.
Nov 4, 2021
Officially no activity Thursday
Hopkins (hamstring) didn't practice Thursday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
For the second week in a row, Hopkins is tending to a hamstring injury, sitting out the first two sessions of Week 9 prep. He played through the issue last Thursday against the Packers, but he also only logged a season-low 24 percent snap share on his way to two catches for 66 yards on two targets. Coach Kliff Kingsbury expressed uncertainty Wednesday whether Hopkins would be available for Sunday's game at San Francisco, according to Weinfuss, so his status should continue to be watched to get a sense of his potential to play this weekend. With fellow starting wide receiver A.J. Green (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the Cardinals could be down to Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore, Antoine Wesley and Andy Isabella at the position Sunday.
Nov 4, 2021
Sits out another practice
Hopkins (hamstring) wasn't present for the open portion of Thursday's practice and is expected to be listed as a non-participant on Arizona's official report for the second straight day, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins still doesn't look to be completely past the hamstring issue that limited him last Thursday in the Cardinals' Week 8 loss to the Packers, as he played a season-low 24 percent of the team's offensive snaps while finishing with two receptions for 66 yards on two targets. While longer turnaround for Sunday's game in San Francisco theoretically helps Hopkins, head coach Kliff Kingsbury told Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com on Wednesday that he was "not sure" if the team's top wideout would be available this weekend. The Cardinals should have a better idea of which direction Hopkins is trending after their final practice of the week Friday, but even if he gains clearance to play, the team will still likely be shorthanded at receiver. Fellow starter A.J. Green was revealed Wednesday to have tested positive for COVID-19, and even he's fully vaccinated, he'll still face an uphill battle to clear all NFL protocols ahead of Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.
Nov 3, 2021
No activity Wednesday
Hopkins (hamstring) was held out of practice Wednesday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins' name has showed up on Cardinals injury reports on occasion this season, but only last week did his availability seem to be in question due to a hamstring issue. He proceeded to play last Thursday against the Packers but logged just 24 percent of Arizona's offensive snaps as he shuffled on and off the field. The injury again is keeping Hopkins off the practice field this week, and coach Kliff Kingsbury told Weinfuss that he's "not sure if he will be ready to go this week or not." With A.J. Green testing positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, there's a distinct chance the Cards will be without their top two wide receivers Sunday at San Francisco. In such a scenario, Christian Kirk and Rondale Moore would serve as the team's primary options at the position, with Antoine Wesley and Andy Isabella on hand for more work.
Nov 3, 2021
Absent from practice Wednesday
Hopkins (hamstring) wasn't present for the media-access portion of Wednesday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins, who headed into last Thursday's loss to the Packers as a game-time decision, was able to suit up for the contest, but was limited to 15 snaps after apparently aggravating his hamstring issue. As a result, the wideout's status is worth monitoring as Sunday's game against the 49ers approaches. If Hopkins is limited or out this weekend, added WR looks would be available for A.J. Green, Christian Kirk and Rondale Moore.
Oct 29, 2021
Finishes with two receptions
Hopkins (hamstring) secured both targets for 66 yards in the Cardinals' 24-21 loss to the Packers on Thursday night. He spent large portions of the game sidelined with a hamstring injury, and Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports the receiver ran back onto the field on his own without the coaching staff's consent as the game went on.
ANALYSIS
Weinfuss adds that coach Kliff Kingsbury clearly didn't seem pleased with his star receiver risking a potential longer-term injury, and even with Hopkins' attempts to help out his team, the Cardinals still ended up suffering their first loss of the season. The star wideout will now look to get back to health in time for a Week 9 road showdown with the Chiefs a week from Sunday.
Oct 28, 2021
Returns to game
Hopkins (hamstring) returned to Thursday's game against the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins had been sidelined for nearly two full quarters after apparently aggravating his hamstring injury in the first quarter. However, he returned midway through the third quarter and should provide a big boost to the Cardinals' offense.
Oct 28, 2021
Questionable to return
Hopkins aggravated his hamstring injury and is questionable to return to Thursday's game against Green Bay, Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins exited the game midway through the first quarter after making a 51-yard catch. He was seen testing his hamstring on the sideline but has not checked back into the game since his initial exit. Hopkins did not practice at all during the short week, and he now may be forced to miss the rest of Thursday's contest.
Oct 28, 2021
Suiting up Thursday
Hopkins (hamstring) is listed as active Thursday against the Packers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins was considered a game-time decision after not practicing on a short week of prep due to a hamstring injury. Following a pregame warmup, though, he'll be available to Arizona's offense versus a Green Bay defense that will be without Week 1 starting cornerbacks Jaire Alexander (shoulder) and Kevin King (shoulder).
Oct 28, 2021
Expected to play in Week 8
Hopkins (hamstring) is expected to play Thursday night against the Packers, barring any pre-game setbacks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The wideout is officially listed as questionable for the contest after being listed as a non-participant on the Cardinals' posted Week 8 practice/injury reports, but he appears on track to suit up, nonetheless. Official confirmation of his availability will arrive upon the release of inactives prior to Thursday night's 8:20 ET kickoff.
Oct 27, 2021
Questionable for Thursday
Hopkins (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Packers, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite not practicing at all during Week 8 prep, Hopkins will be a game-time decision with the expectation that he'll be available Thursday, coach Kliff Kingsbury told Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic on Wednesday. Hopkins is notorious for gutting injuries and suiting up on game days, so it'd be something of a surprise if the Cardinals include him among their inactives, but such a call won't be known until 90 minutes before Thursday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff.
Oct 27, 2021
Should play, but could be GT
Coach Kilff Kingsbury expects Hopkins (hamstring) to play in Thursday's game against Green Bay, though the wideout may be treated as a game-time decision, Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Game-time call or not, Kingsbury expects his star wideout to suit up Thursday night for a nationally televised matchup with a fellow NFC heavyweight. Still, Hopkins likely will be listed as questionable on the final injury report, after missing practice both Monday and Tuesday. It remains to be seen if he gets any work in at Wednesday's practice, though it'll likely just be a walkthrough.
Oct 26, 2021
Registers no practice activity
Hopkins (hamstring) was listed as a non-participant at Tuesday's practice, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins wasn't spotted on the field earlier in the day in the portion of the practice that was available to the media, and the wideout apparently didn't get in any reps behind the scenes either. Now having been listed as a non-participant on both of Arizona's first two Week 8 practice reports, Hopkins' availability for Thursday's game against the Packers can't be viewed as a sure thing. Hopkins would assuage some of the concern about his status if he returns to the field for Wednesday's session as at least a limited participant.
Oct 26, 2021
Not spotted at practice Tuesday
Hopkins (hamstring) wasn't spotted on the practice field during the portion open to the media Tuesday, Howard Balzer of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The official practice report should provide a better indication of Hopkins' overall participation Tuesday, but Hopkins was a non-participant Monday and may be headed for another Tuesday if the open media portion is any indication. The star wideout's injury is ill-timed given his hot stretch recently, notching four touchdowns in the last three games and a season-high seven catches versus the Texans. Hopkins has one more chance to upgrade his practice participation Wednesday ahead of the short week contest Thursday versus the Packers.
Oct 25, 2021
Bothered by hamstring issue
Hopkins was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report with a hamstring injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has missed some practice time this season on account of a rib injury and an illness, but the hamstring issue appears to be a new concern. The wideout seemingly wasn't affected by any injury in his first matchup with his former team in Houston this past weekend, as he corralled seven of his nine targets for 53 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals' 31-5 victory. Arizona may just be listing Hopkins as a non-participant on its first Week 8 practice report for maintenance-related reasons, as the Cardinals face a quick turnaround with a matchup against Green Bay on tap Thursday.
Oct 24, 2021
Scores another TD
Hopkins caught seven of nine targets for 53 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-5 win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
While he led the Cards in catches, setting a new season high in that category in the process, Hopkins was only third on the team in yardage. He still hauled in his seventh TD of the season in the second quarter, however -- more than he scored all of last year. Hopkins will look to keep rolling in a Week 8 clash with the Packers.
Oct 17, 2021
Finds end zone twice against Browns
Hopkins caught three of four targets for 55 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 37-14 win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
The veteran receiver still has yet to see double-digit targets in a game this year, with Sunday's paltry four tying his season low, but Hopkins still had little trouble putting together a huge fantasy performance. He has six TDs through six games, already matching his total from 2020, but the Cardinals' passing game might not need to do too much in Week 7 at home against the struggling Texans -- limiting Hopkins' volume yet again.
Oct 15, 2021
Past illness, good for Sunday
Hopkins (illness) practiced fully Friday and doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game in Cleveland, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins didn't get on the practice field prior to Friday as he dealt with an illness, which almost certainly was unrelated to COVID-19 considering his standing heading into the weekend. He'll face off Week 6 against a Browns defense that has conceded 181.6 total yards per game (15th most in the NFL) and five touchdowns to wide receivers in five contests this season.
Oct 14, 2021
Absent for another practice
Hopkins (illness) wasn't in attendance for Thursday's practice and is expected to go down as a non-participant on the Cardinals' report, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has previously received maintenance days in practice earlier this season while tending to a rib injury, but it's an ailment that will keep him off the field for the second day in a row to begin Week 6. The Cardinals haven't suggested that Hopkins' illness is related to COVID-19, so at this stage, there's still reason for fantasy managers to expect the standout wideout to be ready to suit up Sunday in Cleveland. Ideally though, Hopkins would return to practice in some fashion Friday to clear up any concern about his status.
Oct 13, 2021
Misses practice with illness
Hopkins (illness) missed practice Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
It should only be a concern if the illness is COVID-19. If not, Hopkins will have four days to recover before Sunday's game against the Browns, sitting on a 23-312-4 receiving line through five weeks.
Oct 4, 2021
Gets seven targets Week 4
Hopkins hauled in four of seven targets for 67 yards during Sunday's 37-20 road win at the Rams.
ANALYSIS
The Cardinals are closing in on the quarter mark of the season, and Hopkins has yet to reach 100 receiving yards through four games. And after salvaging Weeks 1 and 2 with three touchdowns combined in those contests, he hasn't visited the end zone since then. While Hopkins leads the team in targets with 25, quarterback Kyle Murray is keeping the key members of the skill positions regularly involved, with A.J. Green, Chase Edmonds, Rondale Moore, Christian Kirk and Maxx Williams also seeing at least 16 looks to date. The result has been four different players with at least 200 yards and one TD (Hopkins, Green, Kirk and Moore). Hopkins will look to tally another score when the Cardinals host the 49ers on Sunday.
Sep 30, 2021
Back to full practice
Hopkins (ribs) practiced in full Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
During the portion of Thursday's session open to the media, Hopkins was seen stretching and running routes, marking his most visible on-field work during the past two weeks of prep, according to Alex Weiner of SI.com. With his return to a full practice, Hopkins is past his rib injury and in line to serve as the Cardinals' No. 1 WR, not only in name, but in terms of production. While playing through the pain Week 3 at Jacksonville, he logged a team-high 92-percent share of the snaps on offense among Cardinals wide receivers but had just three catches (on six targets) for 21 yards. Meanwhile, A.J. Green and Christian Kirk both put up at least 100 yards receiving.
Sep 29, 2021
Sitting out practice again
Hopkins missed Wednesday's practice due to a rib injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins sat out every session last week, too, with the same health concern, only to lead Arizona wide receivers in offensive snap share (88 percent), per usual, this past Sunday in Tennessee. The fact he was active may have been a ruse to free up fellow WRs A.J. Green and Christian Kirk, who both surpassed 100 yards receiving while Hopkins settled 21 yards on three catches and six targets. Hopkins rarely has missed actual games during his nine-year career, combining for two absences overall. Even if his activity level in practice this week remains zero, he's not really a candidate to sit out, barring a change in tune from coach Kliff Kingsbury and the Cardinals.
Sep 26, 2021
Lackluster numbers in Week 3 win
Hopkins (rib) brought in three of six targets for 31 yards in the Cardinals' 31-19 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins' status was in doubt until inactives were announced 90 minutes before kickoff, and given his final numbers Sunday, he may have been best served sitting out the contest. The star wideout did tie A.J. Green for the second-most targets on the Cardinals, but he still limped to his lowest yardage tally since a Week 16 matchup against the Buccaneers in 2019. Hopkins will aim to get healthier and back to his usual numbers in a tough Week 4 road divisional showdown against the Rams.
Sep 26, 2021
Suiting up Week 3
Hopkins (rib) is listed as active Sunday at Jacksonville, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins managed a rib injury this week and didn't practice at all, entering the weekend with a question hanging over his availability. There was an expectation he'd be a game-time call, and while he'll be available to the Cardinals it'll be interesting to see if he can handle his typical workload of 90-plus percent of the offensive snaps. Hopkins has yet to draw a massive target share this season, with just 12 looks through two games, but three of those have resulted in touchdowns.
Sep 26, 2021
Trending toward playing
Hopkins appears to be in line to attempt to play through his rib injury Sunday against the Jaguars, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Meanwhile, Adam Schefter of ESPN notes that his sources indicate that the wideout is "pretty confident" he'll play, "but not 100 (percent he will)." Fortunately for those considering Hopkins in Week 3 fantasy lineups, the Cardinals kick off at 1:00 ET on Sunday.
Sep 24, 2021
Listed as questionable, GTD
Hopkins (ribs) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Jacksonville, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, after coach Kliff Kingsbury revealed earlier Friday that Hopkins would come down to a game-time decision ahead of the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. He didn't practice at all this week, but it might not mean as much for Hopkins as other players, given his long history of playing through nagging injuries without many practice reps. However, he typically logs at least one limited practice, so there is real cause for concern this week. If Hopkins ends up sitting, the Cardinals can trot out A.J. Green, Rondale Moore and Christian Kirk for three-wide sets, with Andy Isabella and Antoine Wesley then providing depth.
Sep 24, 2021
Will be a game-time call
Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Hopkins (ribs) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with the Jaguars, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
At this point, the Cardinals might as well make it a game-time call for strategic reasons even if they have a strong idea one way or the other. Hopkins reportedly missed a third straight practice Friday, but only after playing 59 snaps (97 percent) in the Week 2 win over Minnesota. If he ends up missing Week 3, the Cardinals could use each of A.J. Green, Rondale Moore and Christian Kirk in full-time roles, with Andy Isabella and Antoine Wesley then providing depth.
Sep 24, 2021
Not seen at practice
Hopkins (ribs) didn't participate in the open portion of Friday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins is a regular on the injury report and often misses practice, but three consecutive DNPs would nonetheless create some level of concern about his availability for Sunday's game in Jacksonville. Neither player nor team has said much about the rib injury, making it difficult to decipher if the Cardinals are genuinely concerned.
Sep 23, 2021
Remains sidelined at practice
Hopkins (ribs) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has kicked off Week 3 prep with back-to-back DNPs, the result of a rib injury. Whether it's in Arizona or his previous employer in Houston, he's regularly received days off to tend to health concerns and also for maintenance. Hopkins will have one more chance to prove his health ahead of Sunday's visit to Jacksonville.
Sep 23, 2021
Missing from practice again
Hopkins (ribs) wasn't present for the open portion of Thursday's practice and is expected to go down as a non-participant on the Cardinals' official report, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The severity of Hopkins' rib injury isn't yet clear, but he's now opened the week with back-to-back absences at practice. In recent years, Hopkins has routinely sat out practices or handled light loads while managing minor injuries or even getting routine maintenance, so his lack of reps thus far in Week 3 doesn't necessarily put his availability for Sunday's game in Jacksonville. The Cardinals will release their final practice report of the week Friday, which will provide more definitive word on the star wideout's status for Sunday.
Sep 22, 2021
Dealing with rib injury
Hopkins didn't practice Wednesday due to a rib injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has yet to hit the 100-yard mark through two contests, but he nonetheless has been productive en route to 10 catches (on 12 targets) for 137 yards and three touchdowns. He may be poised to reach triple digits in receiving Sunday against a Jaguars defense that has allowed 11.2 yards per target to wideouts this season, which is good for third worst in the NFL. Having said that, Hopkins first will have to work his way through a health concern to be cleared for game action.
Sep 19, 2021
Reaches end zone again Week 2
Hopkins hauled in all four targets for 54 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 34-33 win versus the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
It was a reasonable enough follow-up to Hopkins' Week 1 receiving line of 6-83-2 on eight targets. However, in a game in which quarterback Kyler Murray piled up 400 yards and three TDs through the air, one would have hoped for more when looking at the box score. That's until the Vikings' defensive game plan is taken into account: Hopkins was on the receiving end of double coverage after recording four catches through the Cardinals' first two possessions of the game, and he didn't see a target after the 5:49 mark of the first quarter. He'll look for his first 100-yard performance of the campaign next Sunday in a road outing against the Jaguars.
Sep 12, 2021
Dominant Week 1 effort
Hopkins caught six receptions for 83 yards and two touchdowns on eight targets at Tennessee on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The Titans posed no resistance against Hopkins, who might have done more damage yet if not for the strong play of fellow wideouts Christian Kirk and Rondale Moore. Hopkins looks as locked in as ever and given his high-volume role he's a top option each week. That will remain the case in Week 2 as Hopkins takes on the Vikings.
Sep 8, 2021
Clear for Week 1
Hopkins (undisclosed) wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins sat out the Cardinals' entire preseason slate, the result of an undisclosed health concern. While the nature of the issue never was revealed, he's now back and ready for a Week 1 matchup at Tennessee, whose defense allowed the second-most catches (16.8 per game) to opposing wide receivers last season.
Aug 21, 2021
Another DNP on Friday
Hopkins (undisclosed) didn't see the field during Friday's preseason loss to the Chiefs, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins hasn't been on the practice field much during training camp and even missed all the sessions leading up to Friday's exhibition, his second DNP this month. But he doesn't need many reps to be ready for Week 1, when he'll still have Kyler Murray under center and a refurbished receiving corps around him, namely A.J. Green, Christian Kirk and rookie Rondale Moore. Despite the increased competition for targets, Hopkins is the unquestioned No. 1 WR in Arizona after putting up a 115-1,407-6 line in his first year with the team in 2020.
Aug 17, 2021
Misses another practice
Hopkins (undisclosed) isn't practicing Tuesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins missed practice last Wednesday and now has missed three consecutive sessions since Friday's preseason win over the Cowboys. Nagging injuries have been part of the package for a few years now, but we'll start to take notice if he still isn't back at practice by next week. An appearance in Friday's preseason game against Kansas City seems unlikely.
Aug 15, 2021
Still no practice reps
Hopkins (undisclosed) wasn't spotted at practice Sunday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Fellow wide receiver A.J. Green is a bit further ahead in his own recovery from an unspecified injury, returning Sunday with individual drills on a side field. Hopkins doesn't necessarily require many practice reps to be in top form, and so far in training camp he's followed a similar regimen to his first campaign with the Cards last season, getting one vet day off and otherwise missing a few other practices. It remains to be seen if the team will have all of Hopkins, Green and Kyler Murray available for either of its last two exhibitions, but the trio all sat out Friday's preseason opener against the Cowboys.
Aug 13, 2021
Unlikely to play Friday
Hopkins (undisclosed) isn't expected to play in Friday's preseason contest versus the Cowboys, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per usual, Hopkins has received a veteran day off in training camp while also missing the occasional practice with an unspecified injury. Assuming he sits, he likely will be joined by Kyler Murray and A.J. Green (undisclosed), who also are in street clothes ahead of Friday's kickoff. Meanwhile, rookie second-rounder Rondale Moore (undisclosed) participated in pregame warmups, giving him a good shot to see a lot of reps in his potential pro debut.
Aug 11, 2021
Misses practice with minor issue
Hopkins missed Wednesday's practice with a minor injury, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins missed a practice or two in late July with a minor injury, and he received a veteran's day off last Thursday. The Cardinals haven't been able to keep any of their wide receivers on the practice field consistently, with A.J. Green, Christian Kirk and Rondale Moore battling various unspecified injuries and Andy Isabella now landing on the reserve/COVID-19 list for a second time. Hopkins provides stability, regardless of his practice participation.
Aug 5, 2021
Rested for a day
Hopkins had a veteran's day off Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins missed a practice last week with a minor undisclosed injury, but his latest absence has been chalked up to rest/maintenance. He's been in and out of practice for a few years now, typically playing through one lower-body injury or another without showing any ill effects. Hopkins has missed only two games in eight pro seasons, and he's played more than 90 percent of his team's offensive snaps in each of the last seven.
Jul 29, 2021
Misses practice
Hopkins sat out Thursday's practice with a minor unspecified issue, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
With coach Kliff Kingsbury indicating that the star wideout will be back on the field soon, we'll view Hopkins as day-to-day. Heading into the coming season, Hopkins heads an Arizona WR corps that also includes A.J. Green, Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore and KeeSean Johnson.
Jul 14, 2021
Gets more reps with Murray
Hopkins was able to build on-field chemistry with quarterback Kyler Murray during the Cardinals' offseason program, Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Murray was banged up at the end of last year, but he and Hopkins returned healthy for the start of the offseason program, participating in both voluntary OTAs and mandatory minicamp. The 29-year-old wideout accounted for 29.4 percent of Arizona's targets last season, ranking third in the NFL with 1,407 receiving yards and tied for second with 115 receptions. A better rushing attack or a bounce-back season from offseason acquisition A.J. Green could cost Hopkins a few targets this year, but he's still among the handful of favorites to lead the league in the category.
Jan 3, 2021
Held in check with Murray injury
Hopkins caught four of his 10 targets for 35 yards during Sunday's 18-7 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins still attracted a robust number of offensive looks in what turned out to be the Cardinals' 2020 finale, but a first-quarter injury to Kyler Murray (ankle) put a dent in the star receiver's output. With Murray was unavailable for more than 45 minutes of game action before his fourth-quarter return, Hopkins produced his second-lowest yardage total of the 2020 campaign. Despite a down outing to close out his eighth pro season, Hopkins carries a fourth consecutive Pro Bowl nod, 121 receptions, 1,407 yards and six touchdowns out of his debut campaign with the Cardinals.
Jan 1, 2021
Cleared for season finale
Hopkins (hip) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Rams, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins steadily increased his involvement in practice throughout the week, advancing from no participation Wednesday to limited activity Thursday before turning in a full workout Friday. With the Cardinals choosing not to put a designation on his name, Hopkins should be in the clear to serve as Kyler Murray's top target in Week 17. Expect Hopkins to draw shadow coverage from elite cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who held the wideout to eight receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown on 13 targets back in Week 13.
Dec 31, 2020
Bumps up the limited Thursday
Hopkins (hip) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out Wednesday's session due to a hip issue, Hopkins made some progress with an appearance on the field Thursday. He's regularly received days off in his first season with the Cardinals, so the increase in reps is consistent with his weekly preparation. Friday's injury report could clear up Hopkins' status entirely for Sunday's game with the Rams in L.A.
Dec 30, 2020
Dealing with hip injury
Hopkins (hip) was held out of practice Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Just before halftime of this past Saturday's loss to the 49ers, Hopkins went to the locker room after failing to haul in a pass in the back left corner of the end zone. He continued to gut out what was believed to be an upper-body injury and played a typical 91 percent of the snaps on offense, but he put up just 48 yards on eight catches and 12 targets. Upon the release of the Cardinals' first Week 17 practice report, though, Hopkins is listed with hip next to his name. He'll look to get past the concern in advance of Sunday's road matchup with the Rams.
Dec 26, 2020
Struggles through injury vs. 49ers
Hopkins (upper body) caught eight of 12 targets for 48 yards during Saturday's 20-12 loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins left the game near the end of the second quarter after hurting himself while going for a ball in the end zone, but he later returned to the game. Although he caught 75 percent of the passes thrown his way, he didn't record a single reception of 10 yards or longer as he finished averaging 6.0 yards per catch. Hopkins piled up 305 yards over the last two weeks and was coming off his best yardage total in a Cardinals uniform, so this disappointing effort was likely quite frustrating to fantasy managers who rode him deep into the playoffs. He'll likely be assessed over the next couple of days but appears to be on track to play in next Sunday's season finale against the Rams.
Dec 26, 2020
Leaves with injury
Hopkins left Saturday's game after suffering an injury to his upper torso, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear whether Hopkins suffered an injury to his upper chest or abdomen, but the star receiver was clearly in pain after failing to catch a touchdown reception in the back left corner of the end zone nearing the end of the second quarter. He walked off under his own power but was immediately taken to the locker room and it's unclear what his status may be for the rest of Saturday's game.
Dec 23, 2020
Not practicing Wednesday
Hopkins (undisclosed) wasn't present for the media-access portion of Wednesday's practice, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wednesday's injury report will reveal whether Hopkins' absence is classified by the Cardinals as "not-Injury related" or the result of the wideout managing an an injury in advance of Saturday's game against the 49ers. In the team's Week 15 win over the Eagles, Hopkins caught nine of his 11 targets for 169 yards and a TD.
Dec 20, 2020
Winning TD caps season-best effort
Hopkins caught nine of 11 targets for 169 yards and a touchdown while gaining one yard on his lone carry during Sunday's 33-26 win over the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins averaged 18.8 yards per catch as he notched a new season high in yardage, thanks in large part to a 45-yard gain, which tied his second-longest of the campaign. He capped off his huge performance with the decisive 20-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Hopkins, who was coming off a big game against the Giants, now has 1,324 yards to go along with six touchdowns in his initial season with the Cardinals. He will look to add to his numbers next Saturday against the 49ers.
Dec 18, 2020
Ready to rock
Hopkins was a full practice participant Friday and doesn't have any designation for Sunday's game against Philadelphia, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Arizona Republic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins missed Wednesday's practice for non-injury reasons, rather than his typical absence or limited session due to a minor injury. The Cardinals don't list him with any issue on their practice report, so he should be all set for his typical workload Sunday against a banged-up Eagles secondary.
Dec 16, 2020
Wednesday's DNP unrelated to injury
Hopkins didn't practice Wednesday for non-injury-related reasons, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins began last week in a similar fashion before neck and back issues kept him sidelined Thursday, limited his reps Friday and left him questionable for Week 14. He ended up playing this past Sunday versus the Giants, gathering in nine of 11 passes for 136 yards. With no health concern to blame for Wednesday's absence, he's in the clear for Sunday's game against the Eagles.
Dec 16, 2020
Not seen at Wednesday's practice
Hopkins (undisclosed) wasn't present at the portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Last week, Hopkins was listed as a non-participant Wednesday due to a non-injury reason, followed it up with another absence with neck and back issues, and capped the week with a limited session Friday. He proceeded to put together a bounce-back performance Sunday against the Giants, with his first 100-yard effort in four games. It'll be interesting to see if Hopkins is dealing with similar or new health concerns, or whether Wednesday's likely DNP was maintenance related.
Dec 13, 2020
Sixth 100-yard game with Cards
Hopkins (neck) caught nine of 11 targets for 136 yards in Sunday's 26-7 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins eclipsed the 100-yard mark for the sixth time this season, easily leading the team in targets, catches and receiving yards. In fact, no other Cardinals player even reached 30 receiving yards. The star wide receiver has thrived in his first season with Arizona, totaling 94 catches for 1,155 yards and five touchdowns heading into a Week 15 matchup with the Eagles.
Dec 13, 2020
Suiting up Sunday
Hopkins (neck) is listed as active Sunday against the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Despite fitting in just one limited session prior to this contest, Hopkins will be out there for the Cardinals' passing attack. He's been fairly quiet during the team's current three-game losing streak, averaging 5.6 YPT and scoring one TD on his 28 targets. Hopkins will look to bounce back against the Giants' 18th-ranked pass defense (242.3 yards per game).
Dec 11, 2020
Expected to play
Hopkins (neck) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, but coach Kliff Kingsbury expects the wide receiver to play, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has a track record of playing through injuries at a high level, and his Friday return to practice -- albeit as a limited participant -- suggests he should be ready to play. We should know for sure by 11:30 am ET, as the Cardinals have an early kickoff for their trip to the East Coast.
Dec 11, 2020
Returns to practice
Hopkins (neck/back) is practicing Friday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, but his return at the end of the week puts him on track for Sunday's game against the Giants. Despite his frequent injury-report appearances, Hopkins has played 122 of a possible 124 games to this point in his NFL career.
Dec 10, 2020
DNP with two injuries Thursday
Hopkins (non-injury/neck/back) didn't practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Listed as a non-participant for a non-injury-related reason on Wednesday's practice report, Hopkins now has a pair of health concerns attached to his name. As such, there's a shred of doubt about his potential to play Sunday against the Giants, but he could quell all concerns by returning to practice Friday. In the end, Hopkins' status should be watched closely as the week draws to a close.
Dec 6, 2020
Grabs fifth TD of season
Hopkins caught eight of 13 targets for 52 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-28 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
The Cards' No. 1 wideout faced tough coverage once again from Jalen Ramsey, but he still grabbed a four-yard TD late in the third quarter, his fifth score of the season. Hopkins also hauled in enough yardage to record his sixth career 1,000-yard campaign. His run of difficult matchups continues in Week 14 against James Bradberry and a Giants defense that just stifled Russell Wilson in an upset win.
Nov 29, 2020
Approaching sixth 1,000-yard season
Hopkins caught five of seven targets for 55 yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins' target share was limited in a difficult matchup with star cornerback Stephon Gilmore, but he still led Arizona in targets, catches and receiving yards. Unfortunately for Hopkins and the Cardinals, a late Zane Gonzalez miss on a go-ahead field goal attempt opened the door for the Patriots to kick the winning field goal on the game's final play. Hopkins has 77 catches for 967 yards heading into a Week 13 matchup against the Rams, leaving him just 33 yards shy of reaching 1,000 for the sixth time in the last seven seasons.
Nov 26, 2020
Full practice Thursday
Hopkins (illness) practiced in full Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out Wednesday, Hopkins handled every practice rep one day later, all but clearing him for Sunday's game in New England. He'll seek his sixth 100-yard outing of the season against a Patriots defense that has surrendered a league-worst 9.7 yards per target to wide receivers this season.
Nov 25, 2020
Dealing with Illness
Hopkins missed Wednesday's practice due to an illness, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
There's no reason to believe yet that Hopkins is dealing with symptoms related to COVID-19, but he and tight end Maxx Williams both are tending to illnesses to kick off Week 12 preparations. Hopkins will have two more days to put it behind him before the Cardinals will make a determination on his potential to play Sunday at New England.
Nov 20, 2020
Contained in Week 11 loss
Hopkins secured five of eight targets for 51 yards in the Cardinals' 28-21 loss to the Seahawks on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Four days after bringing in a game-winning Hail Mary heave from Kyler Murray, Hopkins had a much more subdued performance that saw him check in second to Larry Fitzgerald in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the Cardinals for the night. Hopkins could have had a more productive night had it not been for an uncharacteristic drop on a play where he appeared capable of gaining at least 10 yards and an offensive holding penalty in the end zone on J.R. Sweezy that turned the play result from an eight-yard catch to a safety. Hopkins has had his two quietest games of the season in terms of receiving yardage over the last three contests, and he'll look to reverse that trend at the expense of the Patriots in a Week 12 road matchup on Sunday, Nov. 29.
Nov 15, 2020
Hauls in miraculous game-winning TD
Hopkins caught seven of 12 targets for 127 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 32-30 win over the Bills.
ANALYSIS
The TD grab immediately went down as one of the greatest catches in Cardinals history -- on the final play of the game, Kyler Murray escaped pressure and heaved a 43-yard hail mary into the end zone that Hopkins somehow came down with despite triple coverage from Buffalo's three best defensive backs (Tre'Davious White, Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer). Hopkins has been everything the Cards hoped for in a No. 1 receiver when they picked him up from the Texans in the offseason, and he heads into Week 11's clash with a porous Seahawks defense on pace for a career high in catches, as well as his third career 1,500-yard campaign.
Nov 8, 2020
Quiet in loss to Dolphins
Hopkins caught all three of his targets for 30 yards during Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins hauled in every pass thrown his way but struggled to break free against a talented Miami secondary. He managed a long of just 17 yards and was held to short gains on his other two touches. This was easily the least involved Hopkins has been in his first eight games with the Cardinals and he should be targeted much more in next Sunday's matchup with the Bills.
Oct 26, 2020
Performs well through injury
Hopkins (ankle) hauled in 10 of 12 targets for 103 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks on Sunday. He also lost a fumble in the 37-34 overtime victory.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins carried a questionable tag due to an ankle injury all the way up to kickoff, but the star wideout was able to suit up and deliver for fantasy owners. It was the the 28-year-old's third double-digit catch performance this season, and the fourth time he has reached the century mark in receiving yards. Hopkins made a seamless transition after being traded from Houston to Arizona, leading the league in receptions (57), targets (73) and receiving yards (704) through seven games. The only criticism -- if you can even call it one -- would be a lack of trips to the end zone, as he is on pace for just seven touchdowns in 2020. The Cardinals are on a bye next week, which should give Hopkins' ankle plenty of time to recuperate prior to facing the Dolphins in Week 9.
Oct 25, 2020
Will play through ankle injury
Hopkins (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
NFL sages Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relayed that Hopkins was expected to suit up Week 7, with the latter citing coach Kliff Kingsbury as "hopeful" that the wide receiver would be available. Indeed, that has come to pass, allowing Hopkins to pick in a Seattle defense that has given up NFL worsts in catches (108) and receiving yards (1,472) to wideouts this season.
Oct 25, 2020
Coach optimistic on Week 7 status
Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said he's "hopeful" that Hopkins (ankle) -- who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks -- will be able to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The tone of Rapoport's report seemingly aligns with one issued late Saturday by Adam Schefter of ESPN, who relayed that the wideout is expected to play against Seattle despite turning in only one limited practice this week. A schedule change earlier in the week pushed the Seahawks-Cardinals game back from 3:25 p.m. ET to 7:20 p.m. ET, so Hopkins' fantasy managers will be forced to sweat out his status a little bit longer than initially anticipated. In the past, Hopkins has shown the ability to play effectively with limited or no practice time in advance, so he should still represent one of the top fantasy receivers of the Week 7 slate while matching up with a shaky Seattle secondary.
Oct 24, 2020
On track to play Sunday
Hopkins (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against the Seahawks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The 28-year-old's only practice participation of the week was a limited session Friday, but it appears he'll be available to play Sunday despite the questionable tag. Hopkins has been battling the ankle issue throughout October and has 15 receptions for 245 yards and one touchdown during that stretch.
Oct 23, 2020
Questionable for NFC West battle
Hopkins (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Seattle, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Given his history of playing through nagging injuries, Hopkins' return to the practice field Friday -- albeit as a limited participant -- would seem to put him on track for the Sunday night battle between NFC West playoff contenders. An 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff is suboptimal for fantasy purposes, as there's some chance Hopkins' status could remain up in the air until the Cardinals release their inactive list around 6:50 p.m. ET. In the event of a Hopkins absence, KeeSean Johnson and Andy Isabella presumably would take over the vacated snaps, while it would be more of a team-wide effort to replace the 31.8 percent target share.
Oct 23, 2020
Returns to practice
Hopkins (ankle) returned to practice Friday, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, but there hasn't been any other indication his ankle injury is significant. He handled a full workload in Monday's 38-10 win over Dallas, catching two of eight targets for 73 yards. The Cardinals should have Hopkins available Sunday night against the Seahawks.
Oct 22, 2020
No practice again Thursday
Hopkins (ankle) was held out of practice Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has yet to participate in practice this week, the result of an ankle injury. He's been relatively healthy in seven-plus seasons as a pro, missing just two of a possible 114 games, so his status bears watching on Friday's injury report.
Oct 22, 2020
Idle for second straight practice
Hopkins (ankle) wasn't on the field for the open portion of Thursday's team workout and is destined to go down as a non-participant on Arizona's practice report, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Coming off Monday's win over Dallas, Hopkins has now been sidelined for the first two of the Cardinals' three practices Week 7. The Cardinals could just be giving the wideout some extra maintenance on a short week, but he'll still likely need to fit in some on-field activity during Friday's session in order for fantasy managers to feel better about his chances of playing Sunday against the Seahawks. Hopkins was limited to a season-low two receptions against the Cowboys, but he salvaged his stat line to some degree by ripping off a 60-yard catch-and-run in third quarter.
Oct 21, 2020
Tending to ankle injury
Hopkins didn't practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins had varying levels of efficiency during Monday's blowout win at Dallas. Aside from a 60-yard catch-and-run, he otherwise hauled in just one of seven passes for 13 yards. On the season, he leads the NFL with 47 catches for 601 receiving yards, but he's tied for 34th with two touchdowns. Assuming he can get past his ankle injury and suit up Sunday, Hopkins will seek to add to his TD total against a Seahawks defense that has given up seven scores to wide receivers this season.
Oct 19, 2020
Breaks off 60-yard gain
Hopkins caught two of his eight targets for 73 receiving yards during Monday's 38-10 win against the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
The three-time All-Pro managed only one reception for 13 yards through the first three quarters, but he tore off a 60-yard catch-and-run on Kyler Murray's first completion of the second half -- which didn't arrive until the 10:44 mark of the fourth quarter. Arizona only attempted 24 passes throughout the entire contest, instead choosing to lean upon a ground attack that averaged an astronomical 7.5 yards per carry against the Cowboys' porous defense. Despite a Monday night performance that landed short of lofty expectations, Hopkins' workload of 10.2 targets per game remains elite heading into a Week 7 matchup against Seattle's 32nd-ranked defense.
Oct 11, 2020
Breaks out late in win
Hopkins caught six of seven targets for 131 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-10 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
For most of the game, Hopkins was once again limited to short grabs, but that script got thrown out on one drive in the fourth quarter when he hauled in a 45-yard grab down the sideline, then capped the scoring on the afternoon with a 37-yard TD. Hopkins has now topped 130 receiving yards in three of his first five games as a Cardinal, and he'll be in a strong position to do it again in Week 6 against a reeling Cowboys defense.
Oct 4, 2020
Inefficient Week 4 performance
Hopkins recorded seven receptions on nine targets for 41 yards in Week 4 against Carolina.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins continued to command plenty of targets, as he drew 29 percent of Kyler Murray's attempts. Despite hauling in a high percentage of those looks, Hopkins was unable to work deep down the field as his longest reception went for only 13 yards. While he was able to suit up, Hopkins was held out of practice all week leading up to this contest which may have hindered his ability to play at his usual explosive level. He'll look to return to form in Week 5 in a matchup against the Jets.
Oct 4, 2020
Officially suiting up Sunday
Hopkins (ankle) is listed as active Sunday at Carolina.
ANALYSIS
A non-participant at practice all week due to an ankle injury, Hopkins wrapped it up with his status in question and considered a "game-time decision" by coach Kliff Kingsbury for Sunday's contest. Subsequent reports from both Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network noted Hopkins was slated to suit up, barring any setbacks during a pregame workout. Apparently, Hopkins has passed the requisite eye test and will be available versus a Panthers defense that has conceded 8.6 YPT and three touchdowns to wide receivers through three games.
Oct 4, 2020
Reportedly pushing to play
Hopkins (ankle) is "pushing to play" Sunday against the Panthers, but is slated to work out before the game to be sure, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
ANALYSIS
That echoes a previous report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, which relayed that the star wideout is expected to play in the absence of any pre-game setbacks. Confirmation of Hopkins' Week 4 status, either way, will arrive upon the release of the Cardinals' inactives in advance of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff.
Oct 4, 2020
Expected to play Week 4
Hopkins (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against the Panthers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The 28-year-old is considered a game-time decision by coach Kliff Kingsbury on Friday, but he's apparently likely to play Sunday if he can avoid a pregame setback. Hopkins was unable to practice all week, so it's probably safe to continue to consider him a game-time call, despite the optimistic outlook heading into Sunday.

Listed as questionable
Hopkins (ankle), a game-time decision, is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Panthers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The official designation was a foregone conclusion once coach Kliff Kingsbury referred to his star wideout as a game-time call. Kingsbury's statement didn't exactly provide clarity, as he first said "if [Hopkins] can go, he'll go", but then mentioned that it was still early in the season and the team wouldn't want to put Hopkins on the field "if he isn't feeling his best," per Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site. Whatever the case, Hopkins was held out of practice all week and now appears truly questionable ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Fellow Cardinals wideout Christian Kirk (groin) is also a game-time decision, so it's possible the team ends up relying on Larry Fitzgerald, Andy Isabella, KeeSean Johnson and Trent Sherfield at wide receiver. The inactive list will be released about 90 minutes prior to kickoff, per usual.

Game-time decision for Sunday
Hopkins (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with the Panthers, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Cardinals kept Hopkins off the practice field throughout the week, but they haven't given up hope he can play in Sunday's game. A 'questionable' designation is all but assured at this point, with the final decision potentially being made just a few hours before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Hopkins leads the NFL in both targets (37) and team target share (35.9 percent), so his presence -- or lack thereof -- is about as important as it gets in terms of both real-football and fantasy-football impact. Fellow Cardinals wideout Christian Kirk (groin) is also a game-time decision.

Not spotted at practice
Hopkins (ankle) wasn't present for the open portion of Friday's practice, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins often played in games without logging much time on the practice field back in Houston, but it's nonetheless concerning to see him absent for a third straight day. This suggests he'll be listed as questionable, at best, when the Cardinals release their final injury report Friday afternoon. They have a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff in Carolina on Sunday.

Missing second straight practice
Hopkins (ankle) isn't participating in the open portion of Thursday's practice, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins is thus slated to be listed as "DNP" on the Cardinals' practice report for the second straight day, creating more uncertainty about his status for Sunday's game in Carolina. During his seven years with the Texans, Hopkins often showed an ability to play through injuries at a high level while logging little to no practice time in advance, which should give fantasy managers some reassurance about his Week 4 prospects. The Cardinals will decide whether Hopkins will carry an injury designation into the weekend based on what he's able to do at Friday's practice.

Tending to ankle injury
Hopkins didn't practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
During the Cardinals' Week 3 loss to the Lions, Hopkins handled his typical offensive snap share and target count, finishing with 10 catches for 137 yards on 12 targets. There was no indication that he was hindered, so his sudden appearance on the injury report is surprising, to say the least. No matter, he's been something of an ironman throughout his eight-year career, with two DNPs during that span. Hopkins' status will be one to monitor closely as the week goes on.
Sep 27, 2020
Goes for 137 receiving yards
Hopkins caught 10 of 12 targets for 137 yards during Sunday's 26-23 loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins enjoyed another dominant target share as he was thrown to on over a third of the team's pass attempts. He topped 130 receiving yards for the second time in three games with the Cardinals and has now managed to snare 22 of 25 targets in that same span. Hopkins has found the end zone just once this season, but one would think he'll see his fair share of looks in the red zone despite plenty of attention from opposing defenses. He'll look to continue his excellent play next Sunday against the Panthers.
Sep 20, 2020
Finds end zone in Week 2
Hopkins caught eight of nine targets for 68 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-15 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
While he wasn't able to replicate the massive target volume he saw in his Cards debut, Hopkins was still Kyler Murray's favorite option on the day and grabbed his first TD in an Arizona uniform in the first quarter to open the scoring. Hopkins will look to keep rolling in Week 3 at home against a Lions defense that's surrendered 69 points through its first two games.
Sep 13, 2020
Catches 14 passes in win over 49ers
Hopkins caught 14 of 16 targets for 151 yards during Sunday's 24-21 win over the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins drew a whopping 43-percent target share in this one and torched one of the best defensive units in the NFL from a season ago. He was limited mostly to shorter catches but did a large chunk of damage on a 33-yard gain in the fourth quarter that came within a whisker of a touchdown, setting up Kenyan Drake's decisive one-yard plunge. Hopkins appears to have settled in just fine with his new offensive scheme and should be considered an elite fantasy option in next Sunday's matchup with Washington.

Returns to full practice
Hopkins (non-injury) practiced in full Thursday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins tended to a tight hamstring from mid August until recently, when he was limited Wednesday with what was termed a non-injury. Now healthy, he can turn his attention to producing with new signal-caller Kyler Murray following the trade from Houston to Arizona. Over the last six years with the Texans, Hopkins racked up at last 1,100 yards five times and totaled 52 touchdowns in 94 games.
Sep 9, 2020
Rids self of injury
Hopkins was limited at Wednesday's practice for a non-injury-related reason, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins missed some practice reps in the second half of August due to a tight hamstring, but the injury hasn't tagged along into the regular season. With no health concern to speak of, he can begin to the live up to the two-year, $54.5 million extension he inked with the Cardinals on Tuesday. Prior to joining the team back in March, Hopkins managed a huge burden for the Texans, handling 162.9 targets per 16 games during his last six seasons in Houston. He may not sniff that number in 2020 in an offense that also includes Kenyan Drake, Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald, but yet another 1,000-yard campaign is a logical goal for Hopkins as he works with ascending QB Kyler Murray.

Finalizes megadeal
Hopkins (hamstring) agreed Tuesday with the Cardinals on a two-year, $54.5 million contract extension, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Now locked up through the 2022 season, Hopkins' annual average salary of $27.25 million makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. He'll receive a $27.5 million signing bonus and take home $42.75 million guaranteed in the new deal, which also includes a no-trade clause. The Cardinals' big financial commitment is a deserved reward for Hopkins, who earned first-team All-Pro honors in each of his final three years with the Texans before being traded in March. While serving as the top target in a Kyler Murray-led Arizona offense that is expected to run one of the NFL's fastest tempos, Hopkins should have a good chance at reaching 1,500 receiving yards for the third time in his career.
Sep 7, 2020
Soon to be highest-paid WR
The Cardinals are finalizing an extension that is expected to make Hopkins the highest-paid wide receiver in the league, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins' new extension is expected to surpass Julio Jones' current average salary of $22 million per season. The star wideout is entering the third season of a five-year, $81 million extension, but it was always expected that dissatisfaction with that contract played a role in Hopkins being traded from Houston to Arizona earlier this offseason. A hamstring injury has hampered Hopkins since mid-August, but there's not yet reason to worry about his availability for Sept. 13's season-opener against San Francisco.
Sep 7, 2020
Back on field Monday
Hopkins (undisclosed) participated in the open part of Monday's practice, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has been in and out of the lineup since mid-August with what was termed early on as hamstring tightness. The Cardinals aren't required to file their first injury report of the season until Wednesday, so it's unclear if the offseason addition has received clearance for all on-field activities. In any case, Hopkins' presence Monday is a sign that he's trending in the right direction for a Week 1 matchup at San Francisco.
Sep 1, 2020
Return to practice imminent
Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Tuesday that Hopkins (undisclosed) is closing in on a return to full practice participation, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
A tight hamstring has hampered Hopkins at times during training camp, including keeping him sidelined both Monday and Tuesday. Ultimately, the goal is to have Hopkins enter Week 1 prep "comfortable with the game plan," per Kingsbury. As a result, Hopkins' practice reps may be limited if he gets back on the practice field this week.
Sep 1, 2020
Misses another practice
Hopkins didn't practice Monday or Tuesday, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins dealt with a hamstring injury in mid-August but missed only a few days of practice. It isn't clear if his absence this week is related or not, so we'll need to see what coach Kliff Kingsbury says during his next media session.
Aug 19, 2020
Resumes practicing
Hopkins (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday morning, Mark McClune of FOX Sports Arizona reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins shot down speculation that his absence from practice the past few days was related to dissatisfaction with his contract. The real issue was a sore hamstring, which kept him sidelined for only three days. The 28-year-old wideout will now get to work building chemistry with QB Kyler Murray.
Aug 17, 2020
Expected back soon
Coach Kliff Kingsbury relayed Monday that he expects Hopkins (hamstring) to return to practice soon, NFL.com's Kevin Patra reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has now missed two straight practices due to a sore hamstring, but the Cardinals are downplaying the star wideout's issue and don't expect it to linger. Once he's back on the field, Hopkins will look to continue building his rapport with QB Kyler Murray in advance of Week 1.
Aug 16, 2020
Tending to hamstring tightness
Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Hopkins was held out of Sunday's practice due to tightness in his left hamstring, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Kingsbury specified that the decision to hold Hopkins out of practice was precautionary, a hint that the superstar wideout isn't dealing with an injury of tremendous severity. It makes sense for the Cardinals to employ caution when it comes to the team's prized offseason acquisition, but Hopkins will have plenty of time to get healthy for Week 1. The 28-year-old has only missed two regular-season games since entering the league in 2013. Still, if Hopkins remains sidelined for any amount of training camp it would mean missing valuable opportunities to build chemistry with new quarterback Kyler Murray.

Clears hurdle, joins Cards
Hopkins passed a physical Monday, officially clearing the way for him to join the Cardinals, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has been a modicum of health in seven pro seasons, missing just two outings overall. He's also played at least 1,000 offensive snaps in each of the past six years while posting a 98-1,328-9 line per 16 games during that stretch. In the aftermath of obtaining Hopkins from the Texans, Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury mentioned "no concern" about the trade becoming official, and the wide receiver completing a physical unscathed does as much. Arizona brass already has floated extending Hopkins' current contract -- his five-year, $81 million deal runs through the 2022 season -- but in any case he'll immediately serve as the No. 1 option for second-year signal-caller Kyler Murray in the coming campaign.
Apr 8, 2020
No worry about physical exam
Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury said there is "no concern" about finalizing the trade involving Hopkins and David Johnson, NFL.com's Kevin Patra reports.
ANALYSIS
Travel restrictions have prevented Hopkins and Johnson from undergoing physical exams with their new teams, which means the deal that was agreed upon three weeks ago still hasn't been processed through the league office. The Cardinals, seemingly unworried, have even taken the step of reaching out to Hopkins' representatives to discuss a new contract, with the veteran wideout entering the third season of a five-year, $81 million extension. Hopkins' dissatisfaction with his contract likely played a role in the recent trade agreement, as Texans coach/GM Bill O'Brien didn't want to set the precedent of renegotiating with three years remaining on a deal, per ESPN's Sarah Barshop. In any case, the Texans and Cardinals expect the Hopkins/Johnson trade to become official before the start of the NFL Draft on Apr. 23.

Headed to Arizona in blockbuster
The Cardinals have traded Hopkins and a fourth-round draft pick to the Texans in exchange for running back David Johnson as well as second and fourth-round choices, ESPN's Sarah Barshop reports.
ANALYSIS
This stunning blockbuster shakes up both the Cardinals' pass-catching corps, as well as Houston's backfield. Young QB Kyler Murray now has a new No. 1 option in Hopkins, who now heads a loaded Arizona wideout corps that also includes Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk .
Mar 16, 2020
Traded to Cards
The Texans are reportedly trading Hopkins to the Cardinals, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
We'll await details on the exact parameters of the deal, but this news comes shortly after reports surfaced that Cardinals were sending running back David Johnson to Houston.

Battled through rib injury
Hopkins acknowledged that he played through a painful rib injury Sunday in the Texans' 51-31 loss to the Chiefs in the divisional round, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear at which point in the contest Hopkins suffered the injury, but after a brief examination in the locker room, he was deemed fit to return to action. Despite finishing the day with nine receptions for 118 yards on 14 targets, Hopkins' efforts weren't enough for the Houston offense to keep pace with a Patrick Mahomes-led attack that caught fire in the second quarter. The first-team All-Pro selection shouldn't be impacted by the injury by the time OTAs kick off in the spring, though he could opt to sit out the Pro Bowl next weekend for maintenance purposes.
Jan 12, 2020
Nine catches during playoff loss
Hopkins corralled nine of 14 targets for 118 yards and fumbled once during Sunday's 51-31 divisional round loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
The All-World receiver non surprisingly dominated the target share with Houston's season on the line, commanding six more targets than any other Texan on Sunday and nearly 30 percent of the passing-game workload over the past two weeks combined. Hopkins' production picked up drastically after a slow start during the first quarter of the regular season, as he averaged 85.7 receiving yards per game from Week 5 through Sunday's divisional round defeat after managing 64.8 yards per contest between Weeks 1 and 4. He has earned an incredible three consecutive All-Pro nods, and during 2020 is set to rake in $12.5 million in base salary.

Good to go
Hopkins (illness) does not carry an injury designation for Saturday's game against the Buccaneers after returning to a full practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins sat out Wednesday's practice, but his return to a full session Thursday paves the way for the Texans' top wideout to suit up this weekend. 14 games into his 2019 campaign, Hopkins -- who has topped 100 receiving yards in back-to-back outings -- has logged a fantasy-friendly 99/1,142/7 stat line.
Sep 13, 2019
Good to go
Hopkins (ribs) does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins has been listed as a limited practice participant all week, but there was never really an doubt regarding his Week 2 status, a notion confirmed by the fact that Houston's top wideout heads into the weekend minus an injury tag.
