Makes pair of FGs in loss
McPherson converted both of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's 34-12 loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
McPherson's field goals came from 43 and 48 yards, and through 10 games this season, McPherson has made 15 of 18 field goals and all 23 of his extra points. Kicking in Cincinnati's offense, McPherson is an attractive fantasy option at the position.
Nov 2, 2025
Misses 54-yard FG in Week 9 loss
McPherson went 2-for-3 on field-goal attempts and connected on all four of his point-after tries during the Bengals' 47-42 loss to the Bears on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
McPherson helped the Bengals keep pace in the first half with field goals from 41 and 33 yards, but his 54-yard attempt late in the fourth quarter came up short. It was his third missed field goal of the season, all of which have come from 50-plus yards. McPherson has scored at least 10 points in two of his last three games, and his scoring floor should be steady if Joe Flacco can continue to move the Bengals' offense down the field in the absence of Joe Burrow (toe). McPherson is 13-for-16 on field-goal attempts and 23-for-23 on extra-point tries through nine regular-season games.
Oct 26, 2025
Makes six kicks vs. NYJ
McPherson made his lone field-goal attempt and all five of his point-after tries during the Bengals' 39-38 loss to the Jets on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
McPherson opened the game's scoring with a 26-yard chip shot in the first quarter before tacking on five PATs. The fifth-year pro is 11-for-13 on field-goal attempts and 19-for-19 on extra-point tries through eight regular-season games; he has been perfect in seven of those contests, with his lone blemish coming against the Packers in Week 6, when he missed two field goals.
Oct 16, 2025
Hits game winner
McPherson made all four field-goal attempts, including a 36-yarder that put the Bengals ahead with less than 10 seconds left, and all three extra-point tries in Thursday's 33-31 win over the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
The kicker also connected on field goals from 49, 23 and 45 yards, respectively. McPherson did not have many opportunities with a struggling Bengals offense before Thursday night, but he finally got the chances that fantasy managers perhaps expected before the season. If Joe Flacco can continue to lift Cincinnati's attack, McPherson stands to benefit.
Oct 13, 2025
Misses twice in loss
McPherson converted on one of three field-goal attempts while making his lone point-after try in Sunday's 27-18 loss to the Packers.
ANALYSIS
McPherson was unable to convert on field-goal tries of 56 and 67 yards during Sunday's loss, which were his first two misses of the season. The Florida product has now made six of eight field-goal attempts and all 11 of his extra-point tries through Cincinnati's first six games in 2025. His next opportunity to score will come in a Week 7 divisional matchup against the Steelers on Thursday night.
Oct 5, 2025
Makes every kick in loss
McPherson hit his only field-goal attempt and all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 37-24 loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
The kicker made a 50-yard field goal to put Cincinnati on the board at the end of the first half. McPherson is now 5-for-5 on field goals and 10-for-10 on extra points in 2025, though his opportunities have been limited with an offense that lost its quarterback, Joe Burrow (toe), in Week 2.
Sep 29, 2025
Accounts for only offense in loss
McPherson made his only field-goal try in Monday's 28-3 loss to the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
McPherson finished off the Bengals' first drive of the night with a chip-shot 26-yard field goal, which would prove to be all the offense for Cincinnati in Week 4. The kicker remained perfect on the year, having made all four of his field-goal attempts, while going 7-for-7 on extra-point tries over the first four games of the season.
Sep 21, 2025
Makes both kicks in Week 3
McPherson made his only field-goal attempt and a PAT in Sunday's 48-10 loss to the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
McPherson connected on a 45-yard field goal in the second quarter, which would prove to be his only field-goal attempt in the contest. The kicker has now gone 3-for-3 on field-goal tries and 7-for-7 on PATs over three games this season.
Sep 15, 2025
Connects on all five kicks
McPherson made his lone field-goal attempt and went 4-for-4 on extra-point tries during the Bengals' 31-27 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
All of McPherson's kicks came from within 35 yards, with his lone field goal coming from 31 yards out in the second quarter to cut the Bengals' deficit to four points. McPherson went just 16-for-22 on his field-goal attempts during the 2024 regular season, but he has converted on all eight of his kick attempts through the first two games of the 2025 campaign. However, his fantasy floor could be impacted, as Jake Browning is set to take over as the Bengals' starting quarterback as Joe Burrow is expected to miss a minimum of three months while recovering from surgery on his toe turf injury, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Sep 7, 2025
Makes his kicks in win
McPherson made his lone field-goal attempt and both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 17-16 win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
The kickers were the difference in this contest, as McPherson made all three of his kicks, while Browns kicker Andre Szmyt made just one of his two field goals and also missed an extra point. McPherson's 35-yard field goal in the third quarter to put the Bengals up 17-16 proved to be the difference. In Cincinnati's high-powered offense, McPherson should be busy this season.
Aug 23, 2025
Boots pair of PATs in loss
McPherson knocked through both of his extra-point tries and did not log any field-goal attempts in the Bengals' 41-14 preseason loss to the Colts on Saturday afternoon.
ANALYSIS
The fifth-year pro is coming off a 2024 downturn that saw him convert a career-low 72.7 percent of his field-goal attempts, but he seems poised for a bounce-back campaign if his preseason performance is any indication. McPherson saw time in all three of the Bengals' exhibitions and converted his three field-goal attempts and nine PATs over that span, and his association with a prolific Joe Burrow-led offense therefore makes the talented kicker's outlook bright heading into the 2025 season.
Aug 3, 2025
Going back to original technique
McPherson is reverting back to the original kicking technique that he employed in 2021-22 after switching the last two years, a change that drew mixed results, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports. He hasn't yet missed a kick in camp.
ANALYSIS
McPherson initially employed a gentle draw, but switched to a kick that in theory flew straighter, taking the wind out of the equation more. But the new technique robbed him of a little distance, and last season the control eluded him too, leading to six missed kicks, including two critical misses in a loss to the Chargers.
May 29, 2025
Returns to full health
McPherson has recovered from a torn abductor muscle sustained in 2024, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
McPherson has been participating in Cincinnati's voluntary OTAs, indicating he's fully recovered from the abdomen injury that forced him to miss the team's final five games last season. The Florida product had the worst season of his NFL career in 2024, converting on just 16 of 22 field-goal attempts. Over the past two seasons, he's made only 52.6 percent of his field-goal tries (10 of 19) from 50 or more yards. However, he's missed just one of his last 78 extra-point attempts and appears poised for a bounce-back season in 2025.
Feb 17, 2025
Limited to 12 games in 2024
McPherson (groin) converted 16 of 22 field-goal attempts across 12 regular-season appearances with the Bengals in 2024. He also went 37-for-38 on PATs.
ANALYSIS
McPherson ended his campaign with a career-low 73 percent conversion rate on field goals before landing on IR with a groin injury early December, with all four of his misses coming from 50-plus yards out. He inked a three-year, $16.5 million extension with Cincinnati last August, meaning McPherson remains under contract through the 2027 campaign.
Dec 4, 2024
Placed on IR
The Bengals have placed McPherson (right groin) on IR.
ANALYSIS
McPherson will thus miss at least four games, meaning that the soonest he'd be eligible to return from IR would be Week 18 against the Steelers. To replace him, the Bengals officially added fellow kicker Cade York to the practice squad ahead of the team's Monday night game against the Cowboys.
Dec 4, 2024
In line to miss time
McPherson is expected to miss a few weeks due to a groin injury, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
While the report indicates that McPherson's injury is not season-ending, he's on track to miss some time, per Garafolo. With that in mind, the Bengals are slated to add Cade York to their practice squad ahead of Monday night's game against the Cowboys.
Dec 2, 2024
Converts all six kicks vs. Steelers
McPherson made his lone field-goal attempt and went 5-for-5 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 44-38 loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
McPherson was perfect on his kicking attempts Sunday, though it amounted to just eight total points. He's 10-for-10 on field-goal attempts under 40 yards, but beyond that he's just 6-for-12, including 3-for-7 from 50-plus yards. McPherson is up to 85 points through 12 regular-season games, going 16-for-22 on field-goal tries and 37-for-38 on extra-point attempts.
Nov 8, 2024
Doesn't attempt any FGs in Week 10
McPherson converted all four of his extra-point tries and did not attempt a field goal in Thursday's loss to Baltimore.
ANALYSIS
McPherson came through when called upon, but all of his kicks were PATs. The Bengals opted to try for a two-point conversion on their final touchdown with less than 40 seconds remaining in the contest, costing McPherson a fifth point-after attempt and resulting in a loss when the team was unable to convert. McPherson has made more than one field goal just once over his past six contests.
Nov 5, 2024
Delivers 11 points vs. Las Vegas
McPherson made both of his field-goal attempts and all five of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 41-24 win over the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Sunday was the third time this season that McPherson has contributed at least 10 points for the Bengals. Through the first nine games of the regular season, McPherson has connected on 13 of 17 field-goal attempts and has gone 25-for-26 on extra-point attempts.
Oct 27, 2024
Misses 54-yard field-goal attempt
McPherson made one of two field-goal attempts and converted on both of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 37-17 loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
McPherson made a 27-yard chip shot early in the second quarter, but his 54-yard field-goal attempt later in the frame missed wide left. It was his fourth miss on a field-goal attempt this season, three of which have come over the Bengals' last four regular-season games. McPherson will look to get back on track against the Raiders on Sunday, Nov. 3.
Oct 21, 2024
Misses lone try at Cleveland
McPherson missed his only field-goal try and converted all three of his extra-point attempts in Sunday's 21-14 win at Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
A 50-yard try late in the fourth quarter would have extended the Bengals' lead to three scores, but McPherson pushed it wide right. His accuracy to start this season hasn't been totally up to par with the standard he's set for himself over the course of his career, but he should have a chance to make positive corrections as the year progresses if Cincinnati's offense continues to have success moving the ball.
Oct 14, 2024
Quiet in low-scoring affair
McPherson made his only field-goal attempt and converted both of his two extra-point tries during Sunday's 17-7 win at the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Not much offense was generated by either team at MetLife in Week 6, but McPherson did what little was asked of him to help get the Bengals to their second win of the season. He'll hope to see more chances in Week 7 at Cleveland.
Oct 6, 2024
Misses in loss
McPherson made all four extra-point tries but missed his lone field-goal attempt in Sunday's 41-38 overtime loss to the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
McPherson's only FGA came in overtime from 53 yards out; however, a dropped snap from holder Ryan Rehkow led to a bad hold and a wide-left miss. The field goal was the Flordia product's second miss on the season and first from over 50 yards.
Oct 2, 2024
Perfect in Sunday's win
McPherson made both of his field-goal attempts and all four extra-point tries in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
McPherson had his best performance of the Bengals' 2024 campaign in Week 4, as the Florida product drilled both his field-goal attempts, including a 56-yarder, and split the uprights on all four of his point-after tries as well. The 25-year-old has missed just one field goal and one extra point through Cincinnati's first four contests, and he's expected to continue producing as the Bengals host the Ravens in Week 5.
Sep 24, 2024
Misses one in loss
McPherson made three extra-point tries but missed one of three field-goal attempts in Monday's 38-33 loss to the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
McPherson missed his first FGA of the 2024 campaign when he sent a 48-yard try wide left in the second quarter. However, he was good from 28 and 31 yards out later in the game. The Florida product is now 7-for-8 on field-goal attempts through three games and 5-for-6 on PATs. Next up is a Week 4 matchup against the Panthers.
Sep 16, 2024
Misses key point after
McPherson made all four field-goal attempts but missed one of two extra-point tries in Sunday's 26-25 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
McPherson connected from 22, 33 and 48 yards out before hitting a 53-yard field goal to give the Bengals a 25-23 lead in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately for the Florida product, he was wide right on a PAT following an Andrei Iosivas touchdown catch late in the third quarter, which ultimately ended up being the difference in the score.
Sep 8, 2024
Kicks field goal in loss
McPherson made his lone field goal attempt and extra-point try in Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
McPherson didn't have a kick attempt until the third quarter of Sunday's game due to the Bengals' offense struggling to march down the field. He converted the extra-point attempt in the third quarter following a Zack Moss touchdown run, and McPherson connected on a 51-yard field-goal attempt late in the fourth quarter. McPherson and Cincinnati will take on Kansas City in Week 2.
Aug 16, 2024
Pens three-year extension
McPherson agreed to terms Friday on a three-year, $16.5 million extension with the Bengals, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
McPherson's new deal reportedly includes $10 million in its first year. The 2021 fifth-round pick converted 26 of 31 field goals across 17 regular-season games last year and was a perfect 40-for-40 on PATs. All five of McPhearson's missed field-goal tries in 2023 came from 50-plus yards out. It's no surprise to see Cincinnati ink one of the league's best kickers to a long-term deal, and with Joe Burrow back under center to lead the Bengals' offense, McPherson's fantasy prospects look improved for 2024.
Jan 8, 2024
Perfect in victory
McPherson made his lone field-goal attempt and all four extra-point tries in Sunday's 31-14 win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
McPherson's lone FGA was good from 45 yards out near the end of the second quarter, helping give the Bengals a 24-0 lead heading into halftime. The Florida product finished his third season with 26 of 31 field goals made, good for an 84% conversion rate, with all five misses coming from 50-plus yards. He was also a perfect 40-for-40 on PATs. McPherson has one year remaining on his rookie contract and should return to the Bengals next season.
Jan 1, 2024
Kicks field goal in loss
McPherson made a field goal and two extra-point attempts in Sunday's 25-17 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
McPherson's lone FGA came from 34 yards out on the Bengals' opening drive, which gave them a 3-0 lead. He chipped in two PATs in the second quarter, but other than the kickoff to open the second half, the Flordia product didn't take the field again, as Cincinnati was shut out the rest of the way. Next up for McPherson and the Bengals is a Week 18 divisional clash with the Browns.
Dec 24, 2023
Makes lone kick in Week 16 loss
McPherson made his only field-goal attempt and didn't try any extra points in Saturday's loss to Pittsburgh.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals fell behind big early and trailed 24-0 at the half, so the team elected to go for a two-point conversion after scoring a touchdown on its opening drive of the third quarter. However, McPherson did get the opportunity to attempt a field goal in the closing seconds of the period with Cincinnati facing a 4th-and-15. The third-year kicker nailed the 35-yard attempt, giving him at least one made field goal in each of the team's 15 games this season.
Dec 18, 2023
Comes through in clutch
McPherson made both of his field-goal attempts and all three extra-point tries in Saturday's 27-24 overtime win over the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
McPherson was successful on a 34-yard attempt on the Bengals' opening drive, but the team was then shut out until the fourth quarter. However, after three late touchdowns, and three made PATs, which helped move the game to overtime, McPherson made the game-winning kick from 29 yards out to end his day. The Florida product is now 23-for-28 on FGAs this season, with all five misses coming from beyond 50 yards, and has connected on all 34 extra-point tries. McPherson and the Bengals will travel to Pittsburgh for a Week 16 divisional matchup.
Dec 11, 2023
Stays busy during victory
McPherson made both of his field-goal attempts and all four extra-point tries in Sunday's 34-14 win over the Colts.
ANALYSIS
McPherson made both of his FGAs in the fourth quarter, connecting from 32 and 35 yards out, helping seal up the win for the Bengals. The third-year pro is now 21-for-26 on the season on field-goal tries, with all five misses coming from beyond 50 yards. Next for McPherson and the Bengals is a matchup with the Vikings in Week 15.
Dec 5, 2023
Pair of clutch kicks in win
McPherson converted two of his three field-goal attempts and all four of his extra-point tries in Monday night's 34-31 overtime win over the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
McPherson started off Monday night's contest by missing a 57-yard field-goal attempt, but he was a perfect 6-6 on kicks after that miscue. The third-year kicker out of Florida drilled a 54-yarder to put the Bengals up by three with 2:28 to go in the fourth-quarter, and he made a 48-yard game-winning field goal in overtime. McPherson's most recent outing should make fantasy managers optimistic about his rest-of-season value, as Jake Browning was able to lead Cincinnati's offense to 34 points in Week 13's affair, which ties the team's season-high in points scored in a single game.
Nov 27, 2023
Quiet in low-scoring affair
McPherson converted his only field-goal attempt and his only extra-point try in Sunday's 16-10 loss versus the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
On a day in which Cincinnati was only able to muster 222 yards of total offense, McPherson was predictably a non-factor for the most part. He knocked through a 47-yard field goal with just over two minutes remaining in the game to bring the Bengals within six points, but they couldn't recover his onside kick, and Pittsburgh was able to kneel the remainder of the game away. Cincinnati's offense projects as one of the worst in the league without starting quarterback Joe Burrow, so fantasy managers would probably be wise to look elsewhere for a kicker for the rest of the year.
Nov 17, 2023
Can't achieve perfection Thursday
McPherson converted one of his two field-goal attempts and both of his two extra-point tries in Thursday's 34-20 loss at Baltimore.
ANALYSIS
In an otherwise mistake-free game for McPherson, he was unable to send home a 53-yard attempt on the first play of the second quarter that would have cut the Ravens' lead to 7-6. He still hasn't missed from 49 yards or fewer in 2023, but another long miss in Week 11 sent his conversion rate on kicks of 50-plus yards down to 60 percent for the season. With Joe Burrow (wrist) set to miss the rest of the campaign, fantasy prospects for Cincinnati's entire offense and McPherson take a huge ding going into the home stretch of the year.
Nov 13, 2023
Perfect in loss
McPherson made both of his field-goal tries and all three extra-point attempts in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Texans.
ANALYSIS
McPherson made a game-tying 31-yard field goal with less than two minutes left in the game, but he never got an opportunity to get them the win from there. He also connected from 50 yards out in the third quarter, which helped close the gap on the Texans' lead, making it a 20-10 game. McPherson will kick again Thursday against the Ravens.
Nov 6, 2023
Makes only field-goal attempt
McPherson converted his only field-goal attempt and all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 24-18 win versus Buffalo.
ANALYSIS
McPherson was mostly quiet in Week 9, not attempting a field goal until the middle of the fourth quarter when he connected on a chip shot to extend Cincinnati's lead to 24-10. He's been automatic on kicks of less than 50 yards through eight games this season, and he projects as a good fantasy kicker when the Bengals host a middling Houston defense in Week 10.
Oct 30, 2023
Struggling some from long range
McPherson converted one of his two field-goal attempts and all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 31-17 win at San Francisco.
ANALYSIS
McPherson missed his first field-goal try of the day from 50 yards out in the middle of the second quarter, failing to help Cincinnati expand on a 14-7 lead. Later though, he partially made up for the missed chance by connecting on a 56-yarder early in the third quarter to extend the Bengals' lead to 17-10. In all, he has made just four of his seven field-goal attempts from 50-plus yards out in 2023, a far cry from the 87.5 percent conversion rate he managed from that range his first two years in the league. He's still been generally effective overall though, and he projects as a fine fantasy option in Week 9 when Cincinnati hosts Buffalo.
Oct 16, 2023
Clutch in Week 6 win
McPherson made his only field-goal attempt and both of his two extra-point tries in Sunday's 17-13 win versus Seattle.
ANALYSIS
McPherson didn't get a ton of chances during a low-scoring affair versus the Seahawks, but early in the fourth quarter after a three and out from Cincinnati's offense, he answered the call and drove home a 52-yard attempt to extend the lead - which the Bengals would hold the rest of the way - to four points. Cincinnati has struggled to advance the ball the whole length of the field so far this season, putting McPherson on pace for a career high in field goal attempts. He's remained as efficient as ever, but the Bengals will have a tough San Francisco defense on tap after their Week 7 bye.
Oct 9, 2023
Posts productive day
McPherson made both of his field-goal attempts and all four extra-point tries in Sunday's 34-20 win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
With the Bengals able to find the end zone multiple times in Week 5, McPherson was able to kick as many PATs as he had all season, going 4-for-4 and bringing his season total to 8-for-8. Both of his FGAs were good from 40 yards out, leaving him perfect on the year on field-goal tries under 50 yards, and 9-for-11 overall. Next up for McPherson and the Bengals is a Week 6 matchup with the Seahawks.
Oct 2, 2023
Makes lone kick
McPherson was for 1-for-1 on field-goal attempts in the Bengals' 27-3 loss to the Titans on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
McPherson was only called upon once, but he came through connecting on his 21-yard kick in the first quarter on the game-opening drive. Unfortunately, for Cincinnati, McPherson was not needed again afterward to score any points. The Florida product is now 7-for-9 on FGAs on the season, while he remains a perfect 4-for4 on PATs. Next up for McPherson is the Cardinals in Week 5.
Sep 26, 2023
Scores double figures
McPherson made four of five field-goal attempts as well as his only extra-point try in Monday night's 19-16 win over the Rams.
ANALYSIS
McPherson accounted for 13 of his team's points, connecting on field goals from 49, 53, 48 and 54 yards. That impressive effort came despite sending a 56-yard effort wide left on Cincinnati's first drive. Through three games, he now sports 22 points.
Sep 18, 2023
Perfect in loss
McPherson connected on all three of his extra-point tries, and his lone field-goal attempt in a 27-24 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
McPherson was good from 27 yards out in the second quarter, to make him two-of-three on FGAs for the 2023 season, after hitting from 42 but missing from 51 yards out Week 1 against the Browns. He'll look to be perfect again in Week 3 against the Rams.
Sep 11, 2023
1-for-2 in blowout loss
McPherson made one of his two field-goal attempts in Sunday's 24-3 loss at Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
McPherson converted on a 42-yard field goal on Cincinnati's first drive of the second half to cut the Browns' lead to 10-3, but he only saw one more opportunity to kick the ball after that. On the Bengals' next possession, he pushed a 51-yard attempt wide to the right. Joe Burrow and company being stifled almost entirely is probably an aberration, and McPherson's miss was just the third of his career from 50-plus after 17 attempts. If nothing else, Cincinnati's offense seems like a good bet to improve on their Week 1 point total in Week 2 versus Baltimore.
Jan 10, 2023
Makes all kicks
McPherson made both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 27-16 win over the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
McPherson converted from 34 and 26 yards on his field goals. After a fantastic rookie season, McPherson was less accurate this year, with his 112 total points placing outside the top 15 for kickers league-wide. He'll now turn his focus to Sunday night's wild-card game and rematch versus the Ravens.
Dec 25, 2022
Struggles in narrow win
McPherson connected on one of two field-goal attempts and one of two extra-point tries during Saturday's 22-18 win over the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Joe Burrow found Tee Higgins for a nine-yard score on the Bengals' first drive of the game, but McPherson pushed the extra-point try wide right. The kicker missed another PAT to the right following Cincinnati's next touchdown, but after the kick was negated by an unnecessary roughness call, the Bengals opted to go for two. McPherson bounced back by connecting on a 28-yard field goal to start the second quarter and finally made a PAT before halftime. However, the second-year kicker pulled his final kick -- a 43-yard field-goal attempt in the fourth quarter -- wide left. Overall, it was certainly a shaky performance from McPherson, but given the Bengals' high-powered offense, he should get plenty of opportunities to bounce back in Week 17 against Buffalo.
Dec 19, 2022
Makes all kicks in Week 15 win
McPherson made both field-goal attempts and both PAT tries in Sunday's 34-23 win over the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
A 41-yard field goal as the first half expired accounted for Cincinnati's only points before halftime, but the offense heated up in the second half. McPherson made another kick from 21 yards and tacked on a pair of PATs as the Bengals improved to 10-4.
Dec 12, 2022
Connects on three more kicks
McPherson made his only field-goal attempt and both extra-point tries during Sunday's 23-10 win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
McPherson made two extra-point tries before connecting on his lone field-goal attempt, a 30-yarder that extended Cincinnati's lead to 23-10. After missing back-to-back attempts in Weeks 8 and 9, the second-year kicker has connected on six straight field goals, including four from beyond 40 yards.
Dec 6, 2022
Perfect yet again
McPherson converted both of his field-goal attempts and all three extra-point tries during Sunday's 27-24 win over the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
McPherson entered Cincinnati's Week 10 bye having missed three total kicks over the Bengals' two games prior. Since then, the second-year pro has gone 7-for-7 on his field-goal attempts and 9-for-9 on PAT tries across the team's last three matchups. McPherson is someone who should be rostered in most leagues given his ability to kick from distance, as well as the Bengals' high-powered offense which allows more scoring opportunities.
Nov 28, 2022
Perfect in Week 12
McPherson made both field-goal attempts and both PAT tries in Sunday's 20-16 win over Tennessee.
ANALYSIS
McPherson connected from 47 yards in the second quarter and 38 in the third. The second-year kicker out of Florida has made 16 of 20 field-goal attempts in 2022.
Nov 20, 2022
Perfect night
McPherson nailed all three field goals, including one from 54 yards, along with four extra point attempts in the Bengals' win over the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
McPherson had been slumping in recent games, but he turned it around Sunday in a tough venue in Heinz Field, battling some wind to boot.
Nov 7, 2022
Misses another field-goal Sunday
McPherson missed his only field-goal attempt but connected on all six extra-point tries in Sunday's 42-21 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
After a strong start to the 2022-23 campaign, McPherson has now missed three kicks over Cincinnati's previous two games including the missed 48-yard field-goal try during the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against Carolina. The 23-year-old has just two field-goal makes across the team's last five weeks, and the Bengals will now enjoy a Week 10 bye before returning the following Sunday versus Pittsburgh.

Misses two kicks
McPherson missed his only field-goal attempt as well as one of his two extra-point tries in Monday night's 32-13 loss to the Browns.
ANALYSIS
McPherson went wide right with a 47-yard field goal just before halftime, then failed on his next kick as well. Although he finished by converting a PAT, it was a forgettable outing for the second-year player, with his point total marking a season low.
Oct 24, 2022
Hits five PATs in win
McPherson did not attempt a field goal while going 5-for-5 on extra-point tries in the Bengals' 35-17 win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
McPherson went without a field-goal attempt for the first time this year, but he did make a season-high five extra-point tries. Over the last three weeks, the kicker has only made two field goals total as the Bengals' offense has started to heat up and score more touchdowns. McPherson will look to get more involved in Week 8 against the Browns.

Makes 52-yarder in win
McPherson made a 52-yard field-goal while going 3-for-3 on PATs in the Bengals' Week 6 win over the Saints.
ANALYSIS

The 23-year-old made all three of his extra-point attempts in the contest as well and he has now made 11 consecutive PATs. On the season, McPherson has gone 11-for-13 on field-goals while going 4-for-4 from 50 plus yards and converting 11 out of 12 extra-point tries.

ANALYSIS
McPherson made a 40-yarder with eight seconds remaining in the first half which tied the game at 10, but he was otherwise held in check in Week 5. The second-year kicker is now 10-for-12 on field-goal attempts and 8-of-9 on extra-point tries in 2022, and he'll have the luxury of kicking indoors next Sunday in New Orleans.

Back in full Thursday
McPherson (groin) was a full participant during Thursday's practice, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
McPherson unexpectedly popped up with a groin injury on Cincinnati's injury report Wednesday, which left him limited during practice. However, the 23-year-old appears to have moved past this issue heading into Sunday's game against Baltimore. McPherson converted nine of his 11 field-goal attempts and six of seven PATs over the first four weeks of the season.
Oct 5, 2022
Limited at practice Wednesday
McPherson was limited at practice Wednesday with a groin injury, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear when McPherson picked up the injury, but his participation in practice, though limited, indicates it's probably not too severe. Regardless, the sophomore kicker's status will be one to monitor ahead of a primetime matchup at Baltimore on Sunday.

Perfect in Thursday night win
McPherson converted on both of his two field goal attempts and all three of his point-after tries during Cincinnati's 27-15 win versus Miami on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
McPherson made a chip-shot to take the lead with 12 minutes remaining in the game and then nailed a 57-yarder to extend that lead to five points with six minutes to play. He continues to generate returns in leagues that reward long field goals, as he's six for seven on field-goal tries of 40-plus yards through four games this season after converting on 15 of 20 such tries in 2021. "McFrosty" remains one of the NFL's premiere kickers heading into a Week 5 matchup at Baltimore, though it might be worthwhile for fantasy managers to keep an eye on the weather report ahead of that game.
Sep 26, 2022
Makes two field goals in win

ANALYSIS
McPherson made two field goals in the second quarter, making one from 22 yards and another from 43. He later missed a 41-yard attempt in the fourth quarter. The kicker was also a perfect 3-for-3 on PATs and will continue being a viable fantasy option on an explosive offense.
Sep 19, 2022
Flawless in Week 2
McPherson converted all three of his field-goal tries and did not record an extra-point attempt during Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
McPherson followed up his bumpy Week 1 performance against the Steelers with a return to form during this perfect outing against the Cowboys in Week 3. The second-year kicker kept Cincinnati's struggling offense in the game against Dallas, as he made field goals of 43, 50 and 46 yards through the first three quarters of Sunday's loss. McPherson's flawless kicking performance also helped allow quarterback Joe Burrow the opportunity to tie the game at 17 points with a touchdown pass followed by a two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter. While the kicker did not get a chance to ultimately win the game, his three made field goals of 40 yards or longer are an encouraging sign for performance moving forward this season.
Sep 12, 2022
Mixed results in loss
McPherson went two-for-three on field-goal attempts and missed his only extra-point try during Sunday's 23-20 overtime defeat versus the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
McPherson drilled a 59-yarder to open the scoring for the Bengals and added a 26-yard chip shot at the end of the first quarter. However, it all went downhill from there as the second-year kicker proceeded to have his potential game-winning extra point blocked at the end of regulation and missed another potential game-winning kick -- a 29-yard field-goal attempt -- wide left in overtime. McPherson put together a solid rookie campaign and appeared ready to take another step forward after his booming 59-yarder, but he instead took a step back as the Bengals dropped the season opener. Regardless, Cincinnati's offense is elite and should continue to give McPherson plenty of bounce-back opportunities moving forward.

Hits 50-yarder in preseason
McPherson made three of four field-goal attempts and his only PAT attempt in Sunday's 25-22 preseason loss to the Giants.
ANALYSIS
McPherson connected from 50, 44 and 31 yards out in the first half, but his attempt from 58 yards out in the third quarter drifted wide left. That long miss won't shake McPherson's confidence, especially since a high snap is partially to blame for throwing off his rhythm. McPherson's elite blend of accuracy and power has the second-year kicker poised for another successful season finishing drives for the high-octane Bengals offense.

Makes all four kicks in Super Bowl
McPherson converted both field-goal attempts and both PATs during Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Rams in Super Bowl LVI.
ANALYSIS
It was a strong finish to the successful playoff run for McPherson, as he went 14-for-14 on field goals and 6-for-6 on PATs in four contests, though he didn't receive an opportunity to tie the game in the fourth quarter Sunday. The 22-year-old enjoyed a successful rookie campaign, going 28-for-33 on field-goal attempts and 46-for-48 on extra points. McPherson is a safe bet to open training camp as Cincinnati's kicker for 2022.
Jan 11, 2022
Full participant Tuesday
McPherson (groin) fully participated in Tuesday's practice session, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
McPherson was inactive for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Browns due to a groin injury, but it appears as though he's back to full health. The 22-year-old should be available for Saturday's wild-card matchup against the Raiders after Elliott Fry filled in during the Bengals' Week 18 loss to the Browns.
Jan 9, 2022
Not playing Week 18
McPherson (groin) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Browns, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
McPherson's first absence of the season was foreshadowed Saturday, when the Bengals promoted another kicker (Elliott Fry) from the practice squad. Fry will thus step in to handle kicking duties in place of McPherson, who should be ready to go for the wild-card round. The fifth-round rookie out of Florida turned in a productive regular season, connecting on 46 of 48 extra-point tries and 28 of 33 field-goal attempts, including a 9-for-11 mark from 50-plus yards.
Jan 8, 2022
Appears unlikely to play Sunday
McPherson (groin) appears unlikely to play Sunday against the Browns after kicker Elliott Fry was elevated from the Bengals' practice squad Saturday, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
McPherson appeared to be trending in the right direction ahead of Week 18 but was still listed as questionable against the Browns. If he's ultimately inactive, he'll fall one field goal shy of setting the Bengals' single-season scoring record.
Jan 7, 2022
Questionable against Browns

Limited at practice Wednesday
McPherson (groin) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice session, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
McPherson was productive in Sunday's win over the Chiefs to help Cincinnati clinch the AFC North crown, but he apparently sustained a groin injury during the contest. If he hopes to avoid the Bengals' final injury report for Week 18, he'll likely need to practice fully Thursday or Friday.
Jan 3, 2022
Nails game-winner Sunday
McPherson made both of his field-goal attempts and all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 34-31 win over the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
With the Bengals offense chugging along once again, McPherson had plenty of work to do, although it mostly came after touchdowns. His 20-yard kick to win it as time expired was among the easiest he's ever had in terms of distance while simultaneously being probably the most pressure-packed in terms of importance. The rookie has now put up at least nine points in four straight games.
Dec 27, 2021
Busy day in win
McPherson made two of his three field-goal attempts and all five of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 41-21 win over the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Joe Burrow, who threw for a career-high 525 yards, continued to move the Bengals' offense into scoring position, which meant a big day for the rookie kicker. However, after nailing a 30-yard attempt to open the scoring and adding a 36 yarder at the end of the third quarter, McPherson pushed a 50-yard field goal wide right with five minutes left to go in the game. The 22-year-old is now 26-for-31 on the season, including 9-for-11 from 50-plus yards.

McPherson made three of four field-goal attempts while converting both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 26-23 overtime loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS

Although the 22-year-old has been perfect on his field-goal attempts in the three games since Cincinnati's Week 10 bye, he's missed two extra-point tries across that span. McPherson connected on two extra points but missed both of his field-goal attempts during Sunday's 25-22 loss to the Packers.

After the Packers Mason Crosby missed back-to-back game-winning kicks, the rookie was summoned once again and pulled a 49-yard attempt wide left. McPherson was off to a hot start in his first season in the NFL, but Sunday's performance should temper expectations for the 22-year-old. Wins starting job in Cincinnati
McPherson was named the Bengals' starting kicker Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

McPherson solidified his starting role with a perfect preseason, as he drilled all five field-goal attempts, including a 57-yarder in the preseason finale. The Bengals' offense has high upside depending on quarterback Joe Burrow's health, so it's worth monitoring McPherson as a fantasy contributor.
Aug 10, 2021
Great camp
McPherson has been fantastic at camp so far, making nearly every kick, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Given that the Bengals used a fifth-round pick to acquire McPherson, he was going to win most tiebreakers over Austin Seibert for the job, and his performance will only aid him in that effort.
