Hurts hamstring Friday
Anudike-Uzomah suffered a hamstring injury in Friday's preseason loss to the Seahawks, Harold R. Kuntz of Fox4 News Kansas City reports.
ANALYSIS
Anudike-Uzomah recorded two tackles (both solo) prior to his exit. The 2023 first-round pick has logged just 3.0 sacks across 34 regular-season contests over his first two NFL campaigns and has logged just three starts. He's likely to make the Chiefs' 53-man roster this season if healthy but is expected to again work in a depth role.

Tallies 2.5 sacks in 2024
Anudike-Uzomah logged 27 tackles (16 solo), including 2.5 sacks, across 17 regular-season appearances. He added five tackles (three solo), including one sack, in three postseason games.
ANALYSIS
Anudike-Uzomah didn't see a significant jump in production from his 2023 rookie season. The first-round pick served as the Chiefs' fourth defensive end behind George Karlaftis, Mike Danna and Charles Omenihu, as these three played the majority of snaps when healthy. With Omenihu currently slated to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, it's possible that Anudike-Uzomah could step into a bigger role in 2025.

ANALYSIS
Anudike-Uzomah appears to have recovered from the thumb injury he suffered before the draft, as he participated in OTAs last Thursday. Head coach Andy Reid said that the 2023 first-round pick has also been dealing with a hamstring injury, but he seems to have recovered from that as well. Now that he's healthy, Anudike-Uzomah will look to help Kansas City defend their Super Bowl title during the upcoming season.

Chosen 31st overall by Kansas City
The Chiefs selected Anudike-Uzomah in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 31st overall.
ANALYSIS
Anudike-Uzomah is undersized for defensive end (6-foot-3, 255 pounds) but showed standout production at Kansas State, where he generated 19.5 sacks and 25.5 tackles for loss over the last two years. Veteran newcomer Charles Omenihu might hold off Anudike-Uzomah for some time, but eventually Anudike-Uzomah should claim a three-down role with the Chiefs opposite George Karlaftis.
