Added to Bucs' practice squad
Pierre-Paul was signed to the Buccaneers' practice squad Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul will make his return to the NFL after last playing with the Dolphins in 2023. The 36-year-old was a member of the Buccaneers' roster when the team won the Super Bowl in 2021, and he'll provide Tampa Bay with another veteran presence at practice moving forward.
Dec 19, 2023
Gets let go
Pierre-Paul was waived by the Dolphins on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul joined Miami on Nov. 27 when he was signed off the Saints' practice squad. The 34-year-old suited up twice with the squad, seeing just five snaps on defense and eight on special teams, failing to record any stats. He'll likely now work to find a new opportunity or perhaps sign with the Dolphins' practice squad once he clears waivers.
Nov 28, 2023
Deal with Dolphins official
The Dolphins signed Pierre-Paul on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
In a corresponding move, Miami placed edge rusher Jaelan Phillips on its injured reserve list. In his 2023 debut with the Saints in Week 12, Pierre-Paul recorded two tackles (one solo) on 17 defensive snaps.
Nov 27, 2023
Headed to Miami
The Dolphins are expected to sign Pierre-Paul off New Orleans' practice squad Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul will head to Miami where he will help replace Jaelan Phillips who will miss the remainder of the season with a torn Achilles. Pierre-Paul played in his only game for the Saints during Sunday's loss to Atlanta where the 34-year-old logged two tackles (one solo).
Nov 14, 2023
Finds an opportunity
Pierre-Paul signed with the Saints' practice squad Monday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul spent last year with the Ravens after playing the previous four seasons in Tampa Bay, recording three sacks in 14 contests. The 34-year-old remained a free agent going into the season though, but Ian Rapoport of NFL Network recently reported the 34-year-old was willing to sign with the practice squad of a playoff contender. Now, Pierre-Paul will work to earn a spot on the team's 53-man roster as the Saints look to bolster their pass rush capabilities.
Nov 8, 2023
Looking to return
Pierre-Paul is now willing to sign a practice squad deal with a playoff contender, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul suited up 14 times for the Ravens last season, playing 502 defensive snaps and recording 26 tackles, three sacks and five passes defended. The 34-year-old has remained a free agent this offseason but seems to be lowering his standards for a deal in an attempt to continue his career and get back on the field in 2023.
Nov 16, 2022
Full go Wednesday
Pierre-Paul (ankle) was listed as a full participant on the Ravens' injury report Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul came away from the Ravens' Week 9 win over the Saints with an ankle injury, though he apparently worked past this apparently minor issue during the team's bye week. The 33-year-old recorded eight tackles, one sack and three passes defended on 228 defensive snaps since signing with Baltimore on Sept. 22, though, with fellow outside linebackers Tyus Bowser and David Ojabo both returned from Achilles injuries, his playing time could take a step back moving forward.
Nov 8, 2022
Limited by injury
Pierre-Paul tweaked his ankle in Monday's win over the Saints, according to head coach John Harbaugh, but he should be fine moving forward, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul played a season-low six snaps Monday due to the injury, and he failed to record any stats in his limited workload. With the Ravens now on a bye week, he'll have extra time to recover and try to be ready for Week 11 against the Panthers.
Sep 22, 2022
Links up with Ravens
Pierre-Paul Ian Rapoport of NFL Network a one-year contract with the Ravens on Thursday, Ian Rapoport reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul visited the Ravens on Tuesday after previously visiting the team back in June. His addition should be a boon to the Ravens' linebacker corps, which has been ravaged by injuries thus far. How long it will take him to be ready to play on Sunday's is still in question, but the 33-year-old figures to play a steady roll once he's ready to take the field.
Sep 20, 2022
Meeting with Ravens again
Pierre-Paul (shoulder) visited with Baltimore on Tuesday, Jordan Schultz of TheScore.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul, who is recovering from a shoulder surgery he underwent in February, also met with the team back in June, but he wasn't signed at that time. Now, the Ravens can ill-afford to be picky, as they've lost Vince Biegel, Steven Means, Daelin Hayes and Tyus Bowser to injury and Jaylon Ferguson to a tragic death since that initial meeting, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports. Baltimore doesn't have any healthy natural edge rushers behind starters Odafe Oweh and Justin Houston right now, so they ought to be very interested in working something out with Pierre-Paul.
Jun 9, 2022
Visits with Ravens
Pierre-Paul (shoulder) is visiting with Baltimore on Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul is still recovering from shoulder surgery in February to address an injury that kept him out of the Buccaneers' final three regular-season games in 2021. The 33-year-old is coming off the least productive season of his four-year tenure in Tampa Bay, totaling 31 tackles and 2.5 sacks over 12 games. Despite this disappointing campaign, Pierre-Paul could help provide much-needed pass-rushing depth for Baltimore as the team's starting outside linebackers -- Odafe Oweh and Tyus Bowser -- combined for 12 total sacks during the 2021 season.
Feb 18, 2022
Undergoes shoulder surgery
Pierre-Paul underwent shoulder surgery Thursday, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul missed the last three games of the regular season with a shoulder injury, though he did manage to play through the issue in the postseason. There has been no timeline given for his return to the field, though training camp appears to be a realistic goal even if a lengthy rehab process is inevitable. Pierre-Paul managed only 2.5 sacks across 12 games in 2021, so it's possible that the injury slowed him throughout the campaign.
Jan 23, 2022
Active Sunday
Pierre-Paul (personal) is active for Sunday's divisional matchup with the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul didn't practice at all this week due to a personal matter, but as expected, he'll be available for the game. The veteran pass rusher has struggled this season (2.5 sacks in 12 appearances), but his presence alone should be a big boost to Tampa Bay's defense.
Jan 21, 2022
Listed as questionable for Sunday
Pierre-Paul (personal) is listed as questionable for Sunday's divisional matchup with the Rams, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul missed three straight games with a shoulder injury but suited up for Tampa Bay's wild-card win over the Eagles. However, he played 33 defensive snaps and didn't record any counting stats. He is now dealing with a personal matter and didn't practice at all this week. The veteran likely doesn't need practice to suit up, but it's still concerning that he's been away from the team for so long ahead of a pivotal playoff matchup.
Jan 14, 2022
Will be available Sunday
Pierre-Paul (shoulder/knee) doesn't carry an injury designation heading into Sunday's wild-card matchup with the Eagles.

Jan 6, 2022
Misses practice again Thursday
Pierre-Paul (shoulder) didn't participate in Thursday's practice session.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul has missed the last two games with a shoulder injury and has been unable to practice Wednesday and Thursday. If he hopes to play Sunday against the Panthers, he'll likely need to practice in some form Friday.
Dec 31, 2021
Won't play Week 17
Pierre-Paul (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jets, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul will miss a second straight game with the shoulder injury that has plagued him for much of the season. The star pass rusher hasn't recorded a sack since notching two against the Bears in Week 7, so maybe some time off will get him right for a playoff run. In his absence, expect rookie Joe Tryon-Shoyinka to once again take on a larger pass-rushing role in Week 17.
Dec 25, 2021
Not playing in Week 16
Pierre-Paul (shoulder) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's contest at Carolina, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul opened Week 16 prep but then didn't practice at all Thursday and Friday, earning a doubtful designation on the Bucs' final injury report. He's dealt with a shoulder injury for much of the season, but Sunday's absence will mark his first since Week 4. Expect rookie Joe Tryon-Shoyinka to take on a larger pass-rushing role in Pierre-Paul's stead.
Dec 24, 2021
Likely out Sunday
Pierre-Paul (shoulder) is doubtful for Sunday's game at Carolina.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul was a full practice participant to begin the week but was unable to participate Thursday or Friday. Joe Tryon-Shoyinka should have an increased role in Pierre-Paul's expected absence.
Nov 20, 2021
No injury designation
Pierre-Paul (shoulder/hand) doesn't carry an injury designation for Monday's game against the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul was a full participant in Thursday's practice but was limited Friday before being held out Saturday. However, the linebacker will be able to play through his injuries once again in Week 11.
Nov 14, 2021
Active against Washington
Pierre-Paul (shoulder/hand) is active for Sunday's game against Washington, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul was listed as questionable in Friday's injury report, but he's been deemed fit to play even though he was unable to practice all week long. Even though he'll be available, expect the veteran linebacker to play through injuries for the foreseeable future.
Nov 12, 2021
Questionable after missed practices
Pierre-Paul (shoulder/hand) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Washington.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul has been unable to practice at all this week, and he also has a hand injury listed again in addition to his nagging shoulder injury. His Week 10 status will likely come down to a game-time decision, but unfortunately for JPP, he'll likely be battling these injuries for weeks to come.
Nov 11, 2021
Not practicing Thursday
Pierre-Paul (shoulder) didn't participate in Thursday's practice session, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul played through shoulder and hand injuries in Week 8, but he's now missed two straight days of practice following Tampa Bay's Week 9 bye. If he's unable to suit up Sunday against Washington, Anthony Nelson and Cam Gill are likely in line for additional work.
Nov 3, 2021
Active while playing through injury
Pierre-Paul (shoulder/hand) posted three tackles (two solo) and was credited with two defensed passes in the Buccaneers' 36-27 loss to the Saints in Week 8.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul continued to tough out his multiple maladies and logged an 89% snap share (68 snaps) during the contest. The Buccaneers' Week 9 bye comes at an opportune time for Pierre-Paul, who should be at least somewhat healthier for a Week 10 matchup against Washington.
Oct 31, 2021
Taking field in Week 8
Pierre-Paul (shoulder/hand) is active for Sunday's game against the Saints, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran pass rusher continues to corroborate his toughness by playing through multiple injuries. Pierre-Paul's current injuries aren't merely aches and pains, as he's dealing with both a broken finger and torn labrum in his shoulder. Nevertheless, he'll be out there again Sunday while attempting add to his season tally of 18 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble.
Oct 29, 2021
Questionable for Sunday
Pierre-Paul (shoulder/hand) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul didn't practice this week as he continues to deal with a broken finger and a torn labrum in his shoulder, but he's still expected to suit up Sunday for Tampa Bay. The 32-year-old totaled four tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble despite playing only 38 defensive snaps during last week's blowout win over the Bears.
Oct 27, 2021
DNP Wednesday
Pierre-Paul (shoulder/hand) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, Carmen Vitali of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The 32-year-old is dealing with a broken finger and torn labrum, but expects to be active Sunday against the Saints. Pierre-Paul sat out of practice last week with the injuries before ultimately playing against Chicago, something that is likely going to happen again in Week 8.
Oct 26, 2021
Gets to quarterback twice
Pierre-Paul recorded four tackles, two sacks and forced a fumble in Sunday's 38-3 win over the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul took down Justin Fields early in the second quarter, simultaneously stripping the ball to force his first fumble of the season. He entered the matchup questionable due to both shoulder and hand issues, which likely contributed to him being on the field for a season-low 58 percent of defensive snaps. Assuming health, Pierre-Paul should find the field more in what projects to be a competitive Week 8 matchup against the Saints.
Oct 24, 2021
Officially active Week 7
Pierre-Paul (shoulder/hand) is active for Sunday's game against the Bears, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul didn't practice all week, but head coach Bruce Arians confirmed the veteran linebacker was held out of Friday's session to preserve him for Sunday. The 32-year-old went into a Thursday night Week 6 battle against the Eagles sporting shoulder and finger injuries and logged 41 snaps, so he could well be in for a normal workload versus Chicago.
Oct 24, 2021
Has 'chance to play' Sunday
Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said Pierre-Paul (shoulder/hand) has a chance to play Sunday against the Bears, despite being listed as questionable after not practicing all week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rapoport adds that the Buccaneers have optimism that Pierre-Paul suits up, though the veteran edge rusher sounds like he'll go down as a game-time decision ahead of the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. if Pierre-Paul ends up sidelined for the third time this season, rookie first-round pick Joe Tryon-Shoyinka would likely pick up a start at the outside linebacker spot opposite Shaquil Barrett.
Oct 22, 2021
Questionable for Sunday
Pierre-Paul (shoulder/hand) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul was unable to practice this week due to the hand and shoulder injuries, but he still has a chance of suiting up versus Chicago. The 32-year-old regularly played in games without practicing last season, though it's unclear how likely that is to happen this weekend.
Oct 14, 2021
Available Thursday
Pierre-Paul (shoulder) is active for Thursday's game against Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul carried a questionable designation heading into Thursday's matchup, but he'll be able to play through his broken finger once again. He racked up three tackles (two solo) against the Dolphins in Week 5.
Oct 13, 2021
Questionable again
Pierre-Paul (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Eagles, Carmen Vitali of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul was also listed as questionable for Week 5 against Miami due to his broken finger, but he played through the issue and handled 75 percent of defensive snaps. The veteran has expressed confidence that he can keep playing through the issue, so it appears that he's trending in the right direction for Thursday night.
Oct 10, 2021
Ready to go
Pierre-Paul (shoulder/hand) is active for Sunday's matchup against the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul missed two consecutive games with the injuries, but he'll make his return against the Dolphins. He should be projected to take on a major role along the Buccaneers' defensive line. In two games this season, Pierre-Paul has recorded nine tackles and one pass defended.
Oct 8, 2021
Listed as questionable for Sunday
Pierre-Paul (shoulder) is listed as questionable on the Bucs' injury report ahead Sunday's contest against the Dolphins, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul remains questionable despite coach Bruce Arians saying that he will be available Sunday. Joe Tryon-Shoyinka has played well in the veterans absence, but Tampa Bay certainly would like to have their star defensive end back in action as soon as possible.
Oct 8, 2021
Will be active Sunday
Pierre-Paul (shoulder) will be available for Sunday's contest against the Dolphins, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul is set to make his return after missing two straight contests due to the shoulder injury. Joe Tryon-Shoyinka recorded two sacks in the veteran's place in Week 4, but Pierre-Paul will likely assume his starting role in Week 5. The 32-year-old had nine tackles and one pass deflection through the first two games of the season.
Oct 2, 2021
Ruled out for Week 4
Pierre-Paul (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Patriots, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday before logging a limited session Friday. He was expected to be a game-time decision, but the Buccaneers will elect to be cautious and sit the veteran for a second straight week. Joe Tryon-Shoyinka will likely continue to see an increased role during Pierre-Paul's absence.
Oct 1, 2021
Upgraded to questionable
Pierre-Paul (shoulder) is officially listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup witht the Patriots and figures to be a game-time decision, Carmen Vitali of the team's official website reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul was previously considered unlikely to play Sunday, so he appears to be trending quickly in the right direction. Still, his final status will depend on how his shoulder is feeling during pregmae warmups. If he is ultimately unable to go, look for Joe Tryon-Soyinka to again see increased snaps in his absence.
Sep 29, 2021
Unlikely to play Week 4
Coach Bruce Arians said Monday that he doesn't foresee Pierre-Paul (shoulder) playing Sunday in New England, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul opted to take the advice from team doctors and sit out Week 3, and it appears that he will be sidelined for at least one more week. Joe Tryon-Shoyinka played 49 defensive snaps in his absence against the Rams and totaled two tackles and one pass deflection. If Pierre-Paul does sit out, Tryon will likely see a similar workload again in Week 4.
Sep 24, 2021
Won't travel with team
Head coach Bruce Arians said that Pierre-Paul (shoulder) will not travel with the team this weekend, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
After receiving a second opinion on his injured shoulder, Pierre-Paul was recommended to rest for the Buccaneers' Week 3 game against the Rams. The 32-year-old will take the advice from team doctors and sit out. Rookie first-round pick Joe Tryon is likely to draw his first career start at outside linebacker opposite Shaquil Barrett.
Sep 23, 2021
Appears likely to sit out Week 3
Pierre-Paul, who didn't practice Wednesday, recently received a second opinion on his injured shoulder and was recommended to rest for the Buccaneers' Week 3 game against the Rams, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians has yet to officially comment on Pierre-Paul's status for Sunday's game, but the edge rusher is expected to heed advice from doctors and sit out. If that's the case, rookie first-round pick Joe Tryon could be on tap for his first career start at outside linebacker opposite Shaquil Barrett.
Sep 22, 2021
Doesn't practice Wednesday
Coach Bruce Arians said that Pierre-Paul (shoulder) was held out of Wednesday's practice and is considered day-to-day, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The extent of the injury is unknown, but it's possible that Arians is just giving Pierre-Paul another day off for rest like he did last week. The 32-year-old played 59 snaps in Week 2 and registered three tackles and one pass deflection.
Sep 17, 2021
Doesn't practice Friday
Pierre-Paul (hand) didn't practice Friday, but he doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's contest against the Falcons, Carmen Vitali of the Buccaneers' official website reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul was limited Wednesday and didn't practice Thursday or Friday, but he is expected to suit up Sunday. Coach Bruce Arians said "he's fine" and that his missed practices were just for rest. The 32-year-old played 77 snaps Week 1 and registered six tackles.
Sep 16, 2021
Not practicing Thursday
Pierre-Paul (hand) didn't participate at Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul was a limited participant at Wednesday's session but was kept off the field Thursday. The veteran pass rusher play in all 16 games last year despite being regularly not practicing, so he could still be available for Sunday's matchup with the Falcons even without practicing again Friday.
Aug 2, 2021
Back on field Monday
Pierre-Paul returned to practice Monday after a maintenance day off Sunday, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran pass rusher has already enjoyed several productive camp practices where he has been busy pestering quarterbacks and knocking down passes. The 32-year-old's 9.5 sacks over 16 games in 2020 represented his second-highest total in that category since 2014, and he appears primed for another productive IDP season across the stat sheet.
Jul 9, 2021
Aggressive in spring practices
Pierre-Paul was "pestering" OLBs coach Larry Foote for more reps during June minicamp, specifically looking to get more snaps in coverage, Carmen Vitali of buccaneers.com reports.
ANALYSIS
IDP managers won't want to see a star pass rusher dropping back in coverage, but versatility is part of the appeal with Pierre-Paul, who has now found considerable success in both 4-3 and 3-4 defenses. A knee injury limited his practice reps throughout much of last season, but he still managed to play each of Tampa's 20 games in the regular season and playoffs, recording 11.5 sacks overall. Pierre-Paul's eager approach to June minicamp suggests he's made a full recovery from minor knee surgery in February.
Mar 16, 2021
Signs extension
Pierre-Paul (knee) is signing a two-year contract extension through 2023, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This may be for cap purposes above all else, but it at least confirms he'll be back with the Bucs for 2021, teaming up with Shaquil Barrett to terrorize QBs off the edge. Pierre-Paul mentioned in February that he planned to have knee surgery, though he didn't make it sound like anything serious. Despite battling a knee injury throughout much of the season, Pierre-Paul started each of Tampa's 20 games, recording 9.5 sacks in the regular season and two more in the playoffs.
Feb 24, 2021
Getting another surgery
Pierre-Paul is having surgery on his knee, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ANALYSIS
The 32-year-old pass rusher played at least 78 percent of defensive snaps in each of the Bucs' 20 games this past season, despite battling a knee injury that limited his practice reps throughout the year. Pierre-Paul claims he was at only 70 percent strength, and notes that the upcoming surgery should help him get back to 100 percent before the 2021 campaign begins. He has one season remaining on a two-year, $25 million contract, with $5 million of his $12.5 million salary guaranteed for 2021, per overthecap.com.
Feb 10, 2021
Another impactful season
Pierre-Paul, who compiled three solo tackles and a defensed pass during the Buccaneers' 31-9 win over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV, finished the 2020 regular season with 55 tackles (34 solo), 9.5 sacks, two interceptions, six defensed passes overall, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries across 16 games.
ANALYSIS
The veteran edger rusher was in as fine a form as ever during the 2020 campaign, playing in every game for the third time in four years while posting his second-best tackle sack tally of the last six seasons. Pierre-Paul was arguably as disruptive as ever, as his four forced fumbles were a career high, while the six defensed passes tied his second-highest figure in that category. Pierre-Paul inked a two-year, $25 million deal with Tampa Bay last offseason, so he seems assured of returning to the fold and playing a prominent role once again in 2021.
Feb 5, 2021
Green light for Super Bowl
Pierre-Paul (knee) won't carry an injury designation into Sunday's Super Bowl matchup against the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul took the field for just one practice this week, but that's been standard procedure for most of the year. The veteran will be ready for Sunday's game as he seeks the second ring of his career. Pierre-Paul racked up 55 tackles, 9.5 sacks, six pass breakups and four forced fumbles over 16 regular-season games, and he tacked on another two sacks in the postseason.
Feb 4, 2021
Bumps to limited practice
Pierre-Paul (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul's practice reps are still being managed, but it's encourage to see him log limited activity after having been listed as a non-participant Wednesday. There doesn't appear to be any real worry about his status heading into the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Feb 3, 2021
Absent from practice, as usual
Pierre-Paul (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul has regularly had his practice reps capped this season, and there's not yet any reason to believe that his current lack of activity represents anything other than the status quo continuing as usual. The veteran linebacker hasn't missed a game all year, and he played 86 percent of defensive snaps during the NFC Championship Game victory over Green Bay (while notching two stacks) despite sitting out three straight practices leading up to the contest.
Jan 25, 2021
Notches pair of sacks in win
Pierre-Paul totaled five tackles (three solo), including two sacks, during the Buccaneers' 31-26 win over the Packers in Sunday's NFC Championship Game.
ANALYSIS
The veteran edge rusher came through at a critical time, with his pair of takedowns on Aaron Rodgers part of a five-sack day for the Buccaneers' defense. Pierre-Paul snapped a five-game sack-less streak with Sunday's haul, and his veteran savvy and pass-rush acumen should both be indispensable to Tampa Bay's attempts to slow down the high-powered Chiefs during Super Bowl LV on Sunday, Feb. 7.
Jan 15, 2021
Ready to rock
Pierre-Paul (knee) is not listed with an injury designation for Sunday's NFC divisional-round game against the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul had his practice reps heavily managed this week, as he missed all three of Tampa Bay's sessions, but it appears as though he was simply receiving routine rest to account for his knee injury. The veteran pass rusher managed 9.5 sacks during the regular season, and his ability to provide pressure will be vital for the Buccaneers' defense versus Drew Brees and the Saints' excellent O-line.
Jan 13, 2021
Listed as DNP
Pierre-Paul (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul has been battling knee problems throughout the regular season, but has managed to not miss a single game. The 32-year-old has posted impressive numbers this season so far, racking up 55 tackles (35 solo), 9.5 sacks, two interceptions, six pass breakups and four forced fumbles, and will hopefully be able to suit up for Sunday's NFC-divisional round matchup against the Saints.
Jan 7, 2021
Ready to face Washington
Pierre-Paul (knee) does not carry an injury designation for Saturday's wild-card matchup in Washington.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul received his customarily capped practice reps to begin the week before logging a limited session Thursday, but there was never any real doubt about the veteran pass rusher's availability. He'll look to provide pressure against whomever of Alex Smith (calf) or Taylor Heinicke starts under center for Washington.
Jan 5, 2021
Assumes spot on injury report
Pierre-Paul (knee) was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday's practice estimate, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul is consistently limited or absent altogether for the first practice to start the week. The veteran linebacker didn't miss a game in the regular season, racking up 55 tackles, 9.5 sacks, six pass breakups and two interceptions. Barring a setback, Pierre-Paul should be available for Saturday's wild-card matchup against Washington.
Jan 1, 2021
Will suit up Sunday
Pierre-Paul (knee) does not have an injury tag for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
The veteran sat out practice Friday following a pair of limited sessions to begin the week, but he will be able to play, as usual, in the regular-season finale. Tampa Bay has carefully maintained Pierre-Paul's practice regimen throughout the campaign, and it appears to have paid off as he has accumulated 9.5 sacks while playing in every contest this season.
Dec 30, 2020
Limited to start week
Pierre-Paul (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul's typical maintenance schedule involves starting the week with limited practice reps, so there's not yet any reason for abundant concern regarding his Week 17 availability. The veteran pass rusher hasn't missed a game this season.
Dec 24, 2020
Not on final injury report
Pierre-Paul (knee) does not have an injury designation for Saturday's game against the Lions.
ANALYSIS
JPP logged limited practice sessions Tuesday and Wednesday before sitting out entirely Thursday, which is in line with his typical maintenance schedule. Despite dealing with a balky knee throughout the season, the veteran has played in each of Tampa Bay's 14 contests, registering 9.5 sacks and 50 tackles (31 solo).
Dec 23, 2020
Held back in practice
Pierre-Paul (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
This has been standard procedure for the veteran edge rusher this season, but he has suited up every week, registering 9.5 sacks through 14 games. Pierre-Paul should be in the lineup Saturday against the Lions barring an unforeseen setback.
Dec 18, 2020
Sheds injury tag
Pierre-Paul (knee) does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul didn't practice Friday, but it appears that the cap on his reps this week was due to maintenance, as usual. The veteran pass rusher has put together back-to-back games with a sack, and he'll look to keep his momentum up against Matt Ryan and the Falcons.

ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul has now logged back-to-back limited sessions to begin the week, correcting an initial report which stated that he sat out entirely Wednesday. Missed practice Wednesday
Pierre-Paul (knee) was a non-participant during Wednesday's practice, Carmen Vitali of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Pierre-Paul continues to manage the knee issue, but it's concerning that the veteran was completely sidelined Wednesday. It's likely that the veteran will be all clear for Sunday's game against the Falcons, but expect his practice status the rest of the week to paint a clearer picture of his chances to suit up. Anthony Nelson would be in line for the start at outside linebacker in Week 15 should JPP miss action.

ANALYSIS
The 31-year-old has been on the injury report all season as he manages the knee issue, so seeing him limited to begin the week is business as usual. Pierre-Paul has yet to receive an injury designation this season, and there's no reason to suspect that will change for Week 12.

ANALYSIS
The veteran edge rusher wreaked havoc on Jared Goff early in the second quarter, picking off a pass intended for Darrell Henderson in the left flat and returning it 15 yards to the Rams' 22-yard line. While the Buccaneers could only parlay the excellent field position into a field goal, the pick was Pierre-Paul's latest impact play in a season that's now seen him record 7.5 sacks, two total interceptions, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He'll look to help the Tampa Bay defense meet the formidable challenge of Patrick Mahomes and his arsenal of weapons in a Week 12 interconference battle against the Chiefs.

If Pierre-Paul suffers a setback leading up to the game, Anthony Nelson would be in line to draw the start at outside linebacker.

The 2010 first-round pick was solid in Sunday's win over Green Bay, supplying six tackles (two solo) and 1.5 sacks. If Pierre-Paul was forced to miss any game time due to injury, Anthony Nelson would be in line for a start at outside linebacker.

ANALYSIS
