ANALYSIS
Schwartz also noted that Daboll didn't sound optimistic regarding Ezeudu's availability in Week 9's matchup against the Commanders. Regardless, the third-year tackle from North Carolina will likely need to upgrade to at least limited participation Thursday or Friday in order to suit up Sunday.

Ezeudu struggled at left tackle last season when he filled in for an injured Andrew Thomas, but coach Brian Daboll wants to keep a contingency plan in place in case the latter gets hurt again. If not though, Ezeudu still probably projects to start at guard, if at all, this year.

Ezeudu (toe) had surgery on his toe and he's expected to be ready for the Giants' offseason program, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old tackle was carted off the field with a toe injury in the Giants' Week 6 loss to the Bills and he's been on injured reserve since. Ezeudu is expected to return to the field sometime this offseason after having surgery to repair his toe, but there's no specific targeted return date just yet.

Ezeudu rotated with Ben Bredeson and Tyre Phillips at left guard with the first-team offensive line. Ezeudu was placed on injured reserve in December with a neck injury and it was later revealed that he was dealing with a shoulder issue, which he got surgery for in February. The 2022 third-round pick out of North Carolina started in two games at left guard last season and will compete to reclaim that starting role.
