In battle for starting spot
Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said Monday that the position battle between Ringo and Adoree' Jackson for a starting cornerback role "is close," Brandon Lee Gowton of Bleeding Green Nation reports.
ANALYSIS
Ringo started only five of 34 regular-season games in his first two years with the Eagles, but the 2023 fourth-round pick is looking to earn a bigger role in his third campaign. Jackson has 82 regular-season NFL starts under his belt but may have lost a step at age 29, as the veteran started only five of the 14 games in which he appeared for the Giants last season. Quinyon Mitchell is locked in as the other starter on the outside, with Cooper DeJean working as the slot cornerback.

Taking first-team reps
Ringo played with the first-team defense during minicamp Tuesday, Brandon Lee Gowton of SBNation reports.
ANALYSIS
Ringo also played with the starters during training camp about a year ago before eventually taking a back seat to then-rookies Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. Ringo has also reportedly been rotating at right corner with offseason acquisition Adoree' Jackson. There's no guarantee of an every-down role for Ringo in 2025, promising as early reports out of minicamp might be.

Seeing first-team work
Ringo was spotted working with Philadelphia's first-team defense Wednesday, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Ringo started seeing more work on the Eagles' first-team defense towards the end of his rookie campaign, and it appears that he'll remain one of Philadelphia's top cornerbacks in 2024. The Georgia product recorded 21 total tackles and two pass deflections, including one interception, across 17 games last season (199 defensive snaps). He's expected to compete with Isaiah Rodgers and Avonte Maddox for a larger defensive role as the offseason progresses.

Earns late-season role
Ringo finished his rookie season with 1.0 sack, one interception and 21 tackles in 17 regular-season games.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-round pick spent the bulk of the season limited to special-teams duty, playing just a single defensive snap prior to Week 14. He earned a role on defense for the final six games, starting four of them.

Nabs first career INT in Week 16
Ringo registered five tackles (all solo) and an interception in Monday's 33-25 win against the Giants.
ANALYSIS
An injury to Darius Slay (knee) has opened the door to opportunity for Ringo, who has tallied 78 defensive snaps over the past two weeks after working primarily on special teams over his first 13 contests. The rookie cornerback snuffed out a late New York rally Monday, intercepting Tyrod Taylor's last-second heave into the end zone as the Giants attempted to close an eight-point deficit. It remains to be seen how long Slay will remain out, but Ringo will likely continue to see a significant role until the veteran starter is able to return.

Set to start versus Seattle
Ringo has been moved up into the starting cornerback role for Monday's contest against the Seahawks, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
The move comes after Darius Slay underwent arthroscopic knee surgery earlier in the week. Ringo has mostly played on special teams this season, but will slide into the starting corner role alongside James Bradberry for Monday's game.

Philly stops slide
The Eagles selected Ringo in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 105th overall.
ANALYSIS
Ringo was a member of the excellent Georgia defense and served as one of its top corners in each of the last two seasons while combining to pick off four passes. He entered the draft after his junior season and was projected to go on Day 2, but he slid a bit. Ringo has the speed and size -- he ran a 4.36 40-yard dash at the combine and stands 6-foot-2 and 207 pounds -- to keep pace with the top receivers in the league, but he will likely begin his rookie campaign in a depth role.
