Kenneth Walker III Injury News & Updates
Keep up with the latest injuries from the Colts vs Seahawks game on Sunday with our National Football League injury report.Dec 7, 2025
Held in check Sunday
Walker carried the ball 10 times for 29 yards and caught one of three targets for minus-1 yard in Sunday's 37-9 win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
While he led the Seahawks' backfield in touches, Walker found little running room and Zach Charbonnet wound up pacing the team with 46 rushing yards. It was Walker's lowest yardage output since Week 1, but he has just one rushing TD over the last 10 games, managing 599 rushing yards on 4.6 yards per carry over that stretch. He'll try to break out in Week 15 against the Colts.
Dec 5, 2025
Good to go
Walker (glute) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Atlanta, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker played through the same injury last week, taking 16 touches for 74 yards on 55 percent snap share in a blowout win over the Vikings. He'll lead the way for Seattle's rushing attack this Sunday, albeit with Zach Charbonnet having a significant role off the bench.
Dec 4, 2025
Limited Thursday
Walker (glute) was limited at Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker also dealt with a glute injury last week but avoided a designation heading into the weekend before logging a 55 percent snap share this past Sunday against the Vikings en route to 16 touches for 74 yards from scrimmage. Meanwhile, fellow RB Zach Charbonnet handled a 39 percent share of snaps and had 14 carries for 52 yards and one touchdown. A similar breakdown of work likely will occur Sunday in Atlanta if Walker is cleared on Friday's practice report.
Nov 30, 2025
Leading rusher on 13 carries
Walker rushed 13 times for 56 yards and caught three of four targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 26-0 win over Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Walker showed no ill effects from the glute injury that limited him during the practice week, finishing as the team's leading rusher and steamrolling DB Isaiah Rodgers on a second-half carry for good measure. Zach Charbonnet (14-52-1) did vulture a touchdown from Seattle's starter, but a significant portion of the backup's work came in garbage time of the shutout victory. Walker continues to be a consistent runner in fantasy, recording at least 50 rushing yards in eight of his 12 starts this season. The 24-year-old has just one rushing touchdown since Week 3, so Walker's mangers are hoping for more work around the goal line against the Falcons next Sunday.
Nov 28, 2025
Good to go
Walker (glute) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against Minnesota, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
He played through the same injury last week and handled a season-high 67 percent snap share, continuing a recent trend of Walker taking the lion's share of Seattle's backfield work. Zach Charbonnet took only six carries last week, but he remains a threat for both goal-line carries and passing-down snaps, which often forces Walker to earn his fantasy points the hard way.
Nov 27, 2025
Limited again Thursday
Walker (glute) was listed as limited on Thursday's injury report, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
This follows Walker's capped practice Wednesday, giving him just one more chance to prove the health of his glute Friday before the Seahawks potentially tag him with a designation ahead of Sunday's contest against the Vikings. Over the last four games, Walker has recorded 61 touches for 343 yards from scrimmage and one TD, while fellow RB Zach Charbonnet hasn't been too far behind him with 42 touches for 211 total yards and two TDs.
Nov 26, 2025
Limited Wednesday
Walker was limited at Wednesday's practice due to a glute injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Since the Seahawks' Week 8 bye, Walker has continued to be the 1A in the team's backfield over Zach Charbonnet over the last four contests. Walker has turned 61 touches into 343 yards from scrimmage and one TD during that span, while Charbonnet notched 42 touches for 211 total yards and two TDs. Walker has a health concern to contend with this week, but he'll have two more chances to get back to full before Seattle potentially tags him with a designation for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
Nov 23, 2025
Tops 100 scrimmage yards again
Walker rushed the ball 11 times for 71 yards in Sunday's 30-24 win over the Titans. He added three receptions on four targets for 30 yards.
ANALYSIS
Walker suffered a glute injury late in the week and entered Sunday with a questionable tag, though he still comfortably led Seattle's backfield with 14 touches as compared to six for Zach Charbonnet. As has been the case, Walker was the more efficient back, with four of his 11 carries going for more than 10 yards. He also remained more involved as a pass catcher, logging three catches for the second consecutive game and for the third time this season. The only downside to Walker's performance came around the goal line, as he was stuffed from the two-yard line and then ceded an opportunity from the five to Chabronnet later in the game. Overall, it was still a positive performance for Walker as he topped 100 yards from scrimmage for the second consecutive contest.
Nov 23, 2025
Officially active
Walker (glute) is active for Sunday's game against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Mike Macdonald expressed optimism that Walker would suit up and reports earlier in the weekend suggested the same. Walker's status is now official after he popped up on the injury report Friday. It's unclear whether his workload will be affected, as Zach Charbonnet has cut significantly into Walker's workload even when Walker has been fully healthy.
Nov 23, 2025
Remains lined up to play Week 12
Walker (glute), who is questionable for Sunday's matchup against Tennessee, is expected to suit up, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
This report coincides with Seattle coach Mike Macdonald saying Friday that Walker is in line to play Sunday despite dealing with a glute injury. It remains to be seen, however, if the issue will result in Walker ceding more snaps to co-tailback Zach Charbonnet -- as it is, Walker and Charbonnet have been working in a pretty close timeshare for most of the season. Last week against the Rams, Walker tallied 42 offensive snaps to Charbonnet's 36, though Walker was far more productive with 111 yards from scrimmage to Charbonnet's 47.
Nov 21, 2025
Expected to play
Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Friday that Walker (glute) is expected to play Sunday at Tennessee despite being added to the injury report and listed as questionable, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
An end-of-week addition to the injury report isn't what Walker's fantasy managers want to see, especially ahead of a favorable matchup with arguably the worst team in the NFL. Macdonald downplayed any concerns after Friday's practice, saying Walker's limited practice workload Friday was more about maintenance than anything that might impact the running back's Week 12 availability, per Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune. Still, fantasy mangers will want to make sure Walker isn't on the inactive list 90 minutes before a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff this Sunday.
Nov 21, 2025
Added to injury report
Walker (glute) was added to the injury report Friday and is now listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Tennessee, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker wasn't listed on the injury report Wednesday or Thursday. It's possible something happened during practice Thursday or Friday, but for now we just now that Walker is listed as questionable for Sunday's game.
Nov 16, 2025
Scores while going over 100 yards
Walker rushed 16 times for 67 yards and a touchdown while catching three passes on as many targets for 44 yards in Sunday's 21-19 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Walker was one of the few bright spots for Seattle on Sunday, scoring the team's only touchdown on offense while reaching the century mark in combined yards for the third time this season. The 24-year-old is up to 606 rushing yards through 10 games, surpassing the 573 yards he posted in 2024 on 18 fewer carries. Walker's improved efficiency on the ground (4.5 YPC) has helped stave off Zach Charbonnet from encroaching on the veteran's starting job. The latter was held to 47 yards on 13 combined touches Sunday, further cementing Walker as the preferred fantasy option heading into next Sunday's road tilt against Tennessee.
Nov 9, 2025
Gains 70 yards Sunday
Walker rushed 14 times for 67 yards while catching his only target for three yards in Sunday's 44-22 win over Arizona.
ANALYSIS
Walker averaged a healthy 4.8 yards per tote Sunday, but his managers might be feeling let down after seeing backups Zach Charbonnet (14-83-1) and George Holani (7-31-1) cash in both of Seattle's rushing scores. The 24-year-old Walker's 120 carries still lead Seattle through nine games, but he has been held out of the end zone since Week 3. Walker is still generating solid rushing totals as the Seahawks' lead back, with managers hoping for a return to his scoring ways against the Rams next Sunday.
Nov 3, 2025
Leading rusher on 11 attempts
Walker took 11 carries for 42 yards while adding two receptions on as many targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 38-14 rout of the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
QB Sam Darnold and Seattle's passing attack stole the show on Sunday Night Football, accounting for 330 of the team's 418 net yards of offense and four of its five touchdowns against Washington. Walker still led the Seahawks' backfield in carries and production, out-touching Zach Charbonnet by four in the comfortable win. The 24-year-old Walker checks in as Seattle's leading rusher as we cross the midpoint of the regular season, recording 472 yards (4.5 YPC) and three touchdowns across eight games. Walker will be hungry for his fourth score against the Cardinals next Sunday after punching in all three of his touchdowns in Weeks 1 through 3.
Oct 21, 2025
Leading rusher on 17 carries
Walker took 17 carries for 66 yards and was not targeted as a receiver in Monday's 27-19 win over Houston.
ANALYSIS
Walked finished as the Seahawks' leading rusher with a team-high 17 carries on Monday Night Football. The veteran starter's fantasy managers will still feel jealous of teammate Zach Charbonnet's 12-49-2 rushing line after the latter cashed in a pair of goal-line carries. Walker is still providing more volume out of Seattle's backfield through seven weeks, generating 430 rushing yards off of a career-best 4.7 YPC with three trips to the end zone himself. Both talented rushers will be worth starting in fantasy when the Seahawks return from the upcoming bye week to face the Commanders on Nov. 2.
Oct 12, 2025
Does little with 11 touches
Walker rushed 10 times for 34 yards and brought in his only target for three yards in the Seahawks' 20-12 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Walker logged two fewer carries than Zach Charbonnet, but he outgained his teammate by 10 rushing yards and neither back was particularly efficient during the defense-centric battle. The fourth-year pro's yardage total represented quite the downturn after he'd topped the 80-yard mark in each of the previous two games, and Charbonnet's workload is somewhat of a concern for the moment for Walker's fantasy managers. It remains to be seen if a similar timeshare will apply moving forward, but neither player has a particularly bright outlook for a Week 7 home matchup against a tough Texans defense on Monday night, Oct. 20.
Oct 5, 2025
Leading rusher on 10 carries
Walker took 10 carries for 86 yards while catching one pass for no gain in Sunday's 38-35 loss to Tampa Bay.
ANALYSIS
Walker led Seattle in both carries and rushing production in Week 5, but it was backfield mate Zach Charbonnet (9-36-1) who cashed in the team's only rushing score in the loss. The touch distribution was far closer this time around compared to last week's seven-carry difference in the latter's return from injury, confirming the timeshare that exists when both runners are at full strength. Both players are worthy of flex spots in Week 6, even in a timeshare, with Walker being the preferred option for his early-down usage.
Sep 25, 2025
Efficient in dual roles Thursday
Walker rushed 19 times for 81 yards and secured one of two targets for 29 yards in the Seahawks' 23-20 win over the Cardinals on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
The Seahawks welcomed Zach Charbonnet back from a one-game absence due to a foot injury Thursday, but Walker still saw seven more carries than his teammate while equaling his target tally. Walker had a long run of just 21 yards, so he worked hard for his gains throughout the night and also turned in a chunk gain on his one catch. Walker has now alternated two duds on the ground with a pair of above-average yardage totals, and he's added at least one reception in each game as well. Thursday night's usage seems to indicate Walker might be considered the lead back over Charbonnet heading into a Week 5 home matchup against the Buccaneers on Sunday, Oct. 5.
Sep 21, 2025
Hits pay dirt twice Sunday
Walker took 16 carries for 38 yards and a pair of touchdowns while adding one reception for 12 yards in Sunday's 44-13 rout of the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Walker punched in a pair of short touchdowns early on to help build a 38-6 lead over the Saints at halftime. The 24-year-old has bounced back nicely from a Week 1 dud against San Francisco (10-20-0), generating 143 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the two starts since. The Seahawks were without the services of RB Zach Charbonnet (foot) on Sunday, and a similar situation could unfold in Week 4 with a short practice week on tap for Thursday Night Football. Walker would still generate flex value if Charbonnet is able to suit up against Arizona, but the former would see a huge boost in fantasy value if his backfield mate remains sidelined.
Sep 21, 2025
Set for lead role Sunday
Walker will be the Seahawks' lead running back Sunday against the Saints with Zach Charbonnet (foot) inactive.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Charbonnet won't be available for Sunday's contest due to a foot injury that didn't allow him to practice during Week 3 prep. In the first two games of the campaign, Walker and Charbonnet received 27 touches apiece, and considering the Seahawks' other available RBs (George Holani and Jacardia Wright) have combined for zero offensive snaps this season, Walker is in line for a massive workload this weekend. In the only regular-season game Charbonnet has missed in his two-plus years as a pro (Week 7 versus the Cardinals in 2023), Walker racked up 111 yards from scrimmage and no TDs on 28 touches.
Sep 19, 2025
Set for leading role in Week 3
Walker is in line to be the Seahawks' unquestioned top running back Sunday against the Saints with Zach Charbonnet (foot) listed as doubtful for that contest, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Charbonnet wasn't able to practice at all during Week 3 prep due to a foot injury, and the aforementioned listing doesn't give him much leeway to be available Sunday. He actually received the greater share of the offensive snaps between the two in Seattle's first two games, but both players sit at 27 touches on the season. Walker has been far more effective with them, accounting for 142 yards from scrimmage and one rushing TD to Charbonnet's 57 yards and one score on the ground. Assuming Charbonnet is deemed inactive ahead of Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff, Walker would draw the start, while George Holani (no offensive snaps in 2025) and potentially practice-squad member Jacardia Wright (no NFL snaps to speak of) would be on hand for any RB reps that linger.
Sep 14, 2025
Outplays Charbonnet in Week 2 win
Walker rushed 13 times for 105 yards and a touchdown while catching his only target for 13 yards in Sunday's 31-17 win over the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Walker was far more effective than Zach Charbonnet, who had just 10 rushing yards on 15 carries. The former put an exclamation point on the win by breaking free for a 19-yard touchdown run with 3:41 left in the fourth quarter. Walker had just 24 scrimmage yards and was outplayed by Charbonnet in Seattle's Week 1 loss to the 49ers, so they will likely continue to operate in a timeshare in Week 3 against the Saints, though the workload distribution could start to tilt in Walker's favor after his strong Week 2 performance.
Sep 7, 2025
Splits backfield work Sunday
Walker took 10 carries for 20 yards while bringing in all three of his targets for four yards in Sunday's 17-13 loss to San Francisco.
ANALYSIS
Walker was a limited participant in practice this week dealing with a minor foot injury, but he was left off the injury report ahead of Sunday's kickoff. The veteran starter struggled to gain traction early, ceding 12 carries to Zach Charbonnet in a near-even split of touches. If a true timeshare has finally developed in Seattle, then Walker's fantasy stock would take a hit after commanding the lion's share of carries when healthy in years past. Assuming this backfield deployment sticks, both tailbacks would generate flex appeal against the Steelers next Sunday.
Aug 12, 2025
Practicing part-time
Walker has been alternating days on and off the practice field since returning from a minor foot injury last week, Gregg Bell of The News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said it's all part of a plan to keep Walker healthy, not a product of any injury that might threaten the running back's Week 1 availability. Lower-body injuries have been a near-constant for the 24-year-old since he entered the NFL, although he managed 15 games in both 2022 and 2023 before slumping to just 11 appearances last season. The combination of Walker's durability concerns and Zach Charbonnet's solid work in Walker's absence has led to discussion this summer about Charbonnet potentially taking on more of the rushing workload under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.
Aug 5, 2025
Back at practice Tuesday
Walker (foot) returned to practice Tuesday, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker appears to be practicing without restrictions Tuesday, after he had missed Seattle's prior three training camp sessions due to foot soreness. There are no indications that the issue has been in any way related to the ankle injury that cut his 2024 campaign short. Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports that Zach Charbonnet has impressed coach Mike Macdonald and new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak throughout training camp, leading to speculation that he could infringe on Walker's workload this season. That said, Walker's toughness and athleticism figure to make him an ideal fit for Kubiak's prioritization of zone rushes, as long as he manages to stay healthy.
Aug 4, 2025
Sitting out practice again
Walker (foot) is missing a third straight practice Monday, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker was healthy for the first eight practices of training camp, having long ago made a full recovery from the ankle injury that ended his 2024 campaign early. He's now bothered by foot soreness, with Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald suggesting this weekend that Walker's injury isn't anything significant or concerning. The bigger immediate concern is chatter about Zach Charbonnet taking more work away from Walker under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, per ESPN's Brady Henderson.
Aug 2, 2025
Getting extra rest
Walker did not suffer an aggravation of his ankle injury and was getting a rest day Saturday, Corbin K. Smith of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker didn't participate in practice Friday or Saturday, but coach Mike Macdonald said that he was just getting some extra rest for a lingering foot injury. The Seahawks have been cautious handling the issue throughout the offseason, but Walker didn't land on the PUP or non-football injury list to begin camp, and the start of his season doesn't appear to be in jeopardy.
Aug 2, 2025
Misses second straight practice
Walker (undisclosed) did not practice Saturday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
There wasn't much information available regarding the reason for Walker's absence, but he's now missed practice for consecutive days. It is worth noting that Walker entered camp with an ankle injury, though it's unclear if this is an aggravation of the same issue.
Jul 23, 2025
Back to 100 percent
Coach Mike Macdonald said Wednesday that Walker (ankle) was a full practice participant to begin training camp, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. "He looks great. He's in a great spot mentally," Macdonald added. "Awesome to see him do all the things we want him to do from the get-go. I know he's really excited about what's going on. Great first day with Ken."
ANALYSIS
Walker managed just one appearance (Week 16) over the final five regular-season games of the 2024 campaign due to an ankle injury, which also limited him during the offseason program. Now that he's back to 100 percent, the three-year pro can focus on maintaining a foothold on the No. 1 spot on the running back depth chart for the Seahawks. In the 11 contests in which both he and backup Zach Charbonnet played last year, the former racked up 199 touches to the latter's 67, a breakdown that should remain similar as long as both players are healthy.
Jun 10, 2025
Continues to deal with ankle injury
Coach Mike Macdonald said Tuesday that Walker has been limited during the offseason program due to an ankle injury, but the running back "should be fine," Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports
ANALYSIS
Walker tending to an ankle issue down the stretch of last season, making just one appearance (Week 16) over the final five contests before landing on injured reserve. Through three pro campaigns, he's missed time in each one, missing 3.3 games annually, but when he's been able to suit up, he's averaged 79.3 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring 26 touchdowns in 41 regular-season games. The Seahawks have a pair of OTAs remaining this week (Wednesday/Thursday) and mandatory minicamp on deck (next Tuesday through Thursday), so Walker has a few more chances to mix into drills before the team's month-plus break before training camp in late July. Zach Charbonnet should continue to handle first-team reps for as long as Walker isn't 100 percent.
Jun 4, 2025
On field for OTAs
Walker (ankle) is participating in Seattle's voluntary OTAs, per the team's official site.
ANALYSIS
Walker is pictured among teammates participating in the Seahawks' second week of OTAs, which began Monday. Now healthy and heading into the final year of his rookie deal, Walker's situation in Seattle's backfield remains familiar. If he can avoid the injury bug and stay 100 percent healthy, something Walker has struggled to accomplish through his first three seasons in the NFL, he looks entrenched as the starter ahead of Zach Charbonnet. The arrival of new starting quarterback Sam Darnold could allow this offense to take a step forward in 2025, while new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak's scheme, which focuses on zone rushes, is an ideal fit for Walker's tough running style and explosiveness. Health remains the most pivotal factor in prognosticating Walker, but if he's able to break the pattern of lower-body injuries hampering him, it won't be surprising if the 2022 second-round pick outperforms his ADP in 2025 fantasy drafts.
Jan 17, 2025
Struggles in third season
Walker (ankle) rushed 153 times for 573 yards and seven touchdowns and caught 46 passes (53 targets) for 299 yards and a touchdown across 11 games in 2024.
ANALYSIS
Walker popped out of the gate with 103 yards on the ground in the season opener, but he only eclipsed the 80-yard rushing mark one other time the rest of the season. He dealt with multiple injuries, including an ankle injury that ended his season. When the 2022 second-round pick was healthy, he was the clear starting running back ahead of Zach Charbonnet. However, Charbonnet looked solid down the stretch with 60 carries for 303 yards (5.0 YPC) and three touchdowns over the final five games. Walker should be healthy to start the 2025 season -- the final year of his contract -- and he'll need to perform well and stay healthy to stave off Charbonnet.
Dec 26, 2024
Moves to injured reserve
The Seahawks placed Walker (ankle) on injured reserve Thursday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker already was ruled out for Thursday's game at Chicago due to an ankle injury that he sustained in the second half of this past Sunday's loss to the Vikings, but he'll now be out Week 18 and for any playoff matchups that Seattle would have before the NFC Championship Game, assuming the team qualifies and makes it that far. In the meantime, Zach Charbonnet will pace the Seahawks backfield while Kenny McIntosh backs him up.
Dec 25, 2024
Not playing in Week 17
Walker (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game at Chicago, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker returned from a two-game absence due to a calf injury this past Sunday against the Vikings, but he suffered an ankle issue in the second half and finished Week 16 with 16 touches for 59 yards from scrimmage. Now that the Seahawks have made a decision on his availability for Week 17 action, Walker again will hand off the Seahawks backfield to Zach Charbonnet, who reeled off 259 total yards and three rushing TDs on 38 touches when Walker was out Weeks 14 and 15.
Dec 24, 2024
Remains as DNP on Tuesday
Walker (ankle) was estimated to be a non-participant at the Seahawks' walkthrough Tuesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker remained unavailable for the team's second walkthrough of the week after suffering an ankle sprain in Seattle's 27-24 loss to the Vikings on Sunday. The running back appears to be trending towards missing his fifth game of the season and backfield mate Zach Charbonnet (elbow) was estimated to be a full participant Tuesday after a limited session Monday. If Walker is forced to sit, Charbonnet will once again take over the bell-cow role in Seattle's backfield in Thursday night's matchup with the Bears. More information on Walker's status will be provided following the Seahawks' final practice of the week on Wednesday.
Dec 23, 2024
Estimated as DNP on Monday
The Seahawks estimated Walker (ankle) as a non-practice participant Monday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Seattle didn't actually practice Monday, but it's no surprise that the team indicated that Walker wouldn't have participated if a practice had taken place given that he needed an MRI for an ankle injury he suffered Sunday versus Minnesota. Per
Dec 22, 2024
Headed for MRI on ankle
Walker will need imaging to determine the severity of the ankle injury he suffered in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Vikings, coach Mike McDonald said after the game, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker exited in what had been his return from a two-game absence due to a calf injury. Even if the imaging reveals good news, Walker will be hard-pressed to recover on a short week for Thursday's game against the Bears. Zach Charbonnet would be in line for a heavy workload if Walker's unable to face Chicago.
Dec 22, 2024
Injures ankle Sunday
Walker exited Sunday's game against the Vikings after sustaining an ankle injury.
ANALYSIS
Prior to his departure, Walker carried eight times for 31 yards and caught all eight of his targets for 28 yards. In Waler's absence, Zach Charbonnet and Kenny McIntosh are available to handle Seattle's backfield duties.
Dec 20, 2024
Cleared for return
Walker (calf) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against Minnesota, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker returned to full practice participation Thursday and now figures to return to his role as Seattle's lead runner, although it's possible he gets less work than usual, given that it's his first game back from a two-week absence in which Zach Charbonnet filled in more than capably. That said, Walker has been the clear lead runner whenever healthy this season, sometimes getting more snaps than Charbonnet on passing downs as well.
Dec 19, 2024
Full participant in return to practice
Walker (calf) practiced fully Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
In his first official on-field work since Wednesday, Dec. 4, Walker was uninhibited, while fellow RB Zach Charbonnet (oblique) followed up Wednesday's absence with a limited session one day later. Walker thus seems poised to retake the reins of the Seahawks backfield Sunday against the Vikings. In his 10 appearances this season, he's averaged 18.3 touches for 81.3 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring eight total TDs.
Dec 18, 2024
Still not practicing
Walker (calf) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker is seeking his first practice reps since Wednesday, Dec. 4 as he continues with his recovery from a calf injury that has sidelined him the last two games. Fellow RB Zach Charbonnet also didn't practice Wednesday due to an oblique issue, so Kenny McIntosh currently is the healthiest member of the backfield on the Seahawks' active roster. Practices on Thursday and Friday likely will be telling for who among the trio may be the team's primary runner Sunday versus the Vikings.
Dec 16, 2024
Status TBD for Week 16
Coach Mike Macdonald said Walker (calf) had a good workout Monday, but the running back's status remains in limbo, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker has missed back-to-back contests due to a calf injury, and he also hasn't practiced since Wednesday, Dec. 4. Macdonald added, "We'll see," regarding Walker's chances to take the field Wednesday, when the Seahawks are slated for their first session of Week 16 prep. Zach Charbonnet has filled in for Walker during his absence, turning 38 touches into 259 yards from scrimmage and three rushing TDs, and even Kenny McIntosh has got some run (12 touches and 54 total yards).
Dec 15, 2024
Officially inactive Sunday
Walker (calf) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Walker hasn't practiced since Wednesday, Dec. 4 due to a lingering calf injury, and considering he was listed as doubtful for Week 15 action, his lack of availability Sunday isn't much of a surprise. He'll turn his focus to getting healthy for next Sunday's matchup with the Vikings while yielding No. 1 RB duties to Zach Charbonnet for a second consecutive contest. Charbonnet netted 193 yards from scrimmage and two rushing TDs on 29 touches in Week 14 at Arizona, and Kenny McIntosh even tallied nine touches for 45 total yards in reserve.
Dec 13, 2024
Listed as doubtful for Sunday
Coach Mike Macdonald said Friday that Walker "hasn't practiced yet (this week), so we listed him as doubtful" for Sunday's game against the Packers, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Such a listing indicates Walker is more likely than not to miss a second consecutive contest, but Macdonald noted that the third-year running back has made some progress in his recovery, indicating he may be able to return Week 16 against the Vikings if he's inactive again this weekend. Zach Charbonnet is slated to headline Seattle's backfield in Walker's place Sunday, which resulted in 29 touches for 193 yards from scrimmage and two rushing TDs in a Week 14 win at Arizona.
Dec 13, 2024
Listed as doubtful
Walker (calf) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Packers, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
With Walker still not practicing and likely missing a second straight game, Zach Charbonnet should get the chance to follow up on last week's 193-yard, two-TD gem at Arizona. Walker's next shot to play would be a Week 16 home game against the Vikings on Dec. 22, followed by a Thursday game at Chicago four days later (Dec. 26).
Dec 12, 2024
No practice again Thursday
Walker (calf) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Mike Macdonald relayed to Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic on Wednesday that Walker still was day-to-day, and the running back's status for Sunday's game versus the Packers was up in the air. Per Dugar, Walker's lack of practice reps so far this week won't preclude him from playing this weekend if his calf is deemed able to hold up. If Walker is limited or inactive Sunday, though, Zach Charbonnet would garner a second spot start in a row, with Kenny McIntosh also on hand for reps out of the Seahawks backfield.
Dec 11, 2024
Considered 'day-to-day'
Coach Mike Macdonald said Wednesday that Walker is day-to-day, but his status is to be determined for Sunday's game against the Packers, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker underwent testing on his calf injury earlier this week, but Macdonald relayed that the running back doesn't require further evaluation, and his injury isn't a long-term issue, per Brady Henderson of ESPN.com\. Macdonald also told Dugar that Walker doesn't need to practice in order to play Week 15, so even if he goes down as a DNP through Friday's practice, he won't necessarily be in danger of sitting out Sunday. Zach Charbonnet filled in for Walker this past weekend en route to 29 touches for 193 yards from scrimmage and two rushing TDs.
Dec 9, 2024
Getting tests on calf injury
Coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that the Seahawks are getting tests done on Walker's calf injury and may know more about his status in the next few days, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
ANALYSIS
Macdonald added that Walker no longer is dealing with the ankle issue that, along with the calf concern, capped him to one limited session last week and kept him out of Sunday's win at Arizona. The Seahawks will post their first practice report of Week 15 prep Wednesday, at which point his activity level may be telling for his chances to return to action this coming Sunday against the Packers. In Walker's absence Week 14, Zach Charbonnet handled an 80 percent snap share and racked up 29 touches for 193 yards from scrimmage and two rushing TDs, while Kenny McIntosh earned 23 percent of snaps en route to nine touches for 45 total yards.
Dec 8, 2024
Could return for Week 15
Walker, who has been ruled out for Sunday's Week 14 game against Arizona due to an ankle injury and a calf issue, did not suffer a setback this week and could return to action next Sunday versus Green Bay, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker went from a limited practice Wednesday to DNPs on Thursday and Friday, but Schefter suggests that the downturn in participation wasn't the result of a setback. While Walker won't be able to take the field in Sunday's clash with the Cardinals that has huge implications for the NFC playoff picture, the third-year running back appears to have a chance of returning to action for another critical contest next Sunday against the Packers. With Walker out this week, Zach Charbonnet will likely lead Seattle's backfield, with Kenny McIntosh and George Holani working behind him.
Dec 7, 2024
Unavailable Sunday
Walker (ankle/calf) has been downgraded to out and will not play Sunday against the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
In what could be a critical game for the NFC West title, the Seahawks will be without their best running back. Head coach Mike Macdonald didn't seem all that optimistic Walker would play when asked about his status earlier this week, but with the 1,000-yard rusher now out, Zach Charbonnet will need to absorb a major bump in work in his stead. Charbonnet recorded 32 carries for 129 yards and three touchdowns to go along with eight receptions for 46 yards in his previous two games as a starter back in Weeks 2 and 3, so fantasy managers can assume the second-year back will see close to a similar workload come Sunday.
Dec 6, 2024
Considered uncertain for Sunday
Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Friday that he isn't sure if Walker (ankle/calf) will play Sunday at Arizona, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Macdonald said "I just don't know right now" when a reporter asked him Friday afternoon "which side of questionable" the running back falls on after missing every practice this week. In other words, Walker is genuinely questionable and not just listed as such to create confusion for the opponent or protect against an unlikely late setback. He handled his normal workload in last week's 26-21 win over the Jets but apparently came out of the game with new injuries to his calf and ankle, potentially opening the door for Zach Charbonnet to take over the lead backfield role Week 14. A late-afternoon kickoff (4:05 p.m. ET) is suboptimal for fantasy managers in the event Walker comes down to a game-time decision.
Dec 6, 2024
Listed as questionable
Walker (ankle/calf) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Arizona, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
More information should be available after the Seahawks finish Friday's practice and coach Mike Macdonald speaks to the media. Walker was a limited practice participant Wednesday and a non-participant Thursday, with the downgrade leading to concern about his availability for a key NFC West matchup. Fellow Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet took on huge workloads earlier this season when Walker missed a couple games with a groin/abdomen injury.
Dec 5, 2024
DNP on Thursday
Walker (ankle/calf) didn't take part in practice Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
One day removed from being limited due to ankle and calf injuries Wednesday, Walker was held out of drills entirely as a result of the new health concerns. There's been no indication, one way or another, if he's in danger of missing Sunday's contest at Arizona. Ultimately, Friday's practice report will reveal whether or not Walker heads into the weekend with a designation for Week 14 action. Zach Charbonnet would take on more work if Walker is inhibited or sidelined.
Dec 4, 2024
Dealing with new health concerns
Walker was a limited practice participant Wednesday due to ankle and calf injuries, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker previous dealt with an oblique issue and an illness this season, so the health concerns that are impacting his reps to begin Week 14 prep are new ones. In the 10 games in which he's been active this season, he's earned a 60 percent snap share eight times, and he's averaged 19.3 touches for 84.4 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring six TDs in those contests. How Walker fares in practice Thursday and Friday likely will determine whether he'll continue to be the 1A in the Seahawks backfield over Zach Charbonnet for Sunday's game in Arizona.
Dec 1, 2024
Bottled up in win over Jets
Walker rushed 16 times for 49 yards while catching two of three targets for minus-3 yards in Sunday's 26-21 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Walker had just 16 rushing yards on seven first-half carries while Zach Charbonnet got 18 yards on only two rushing attempts. The lead back then had a 27-yard run called back on a holding penalty on Seattle's first offensive play of the third quarter and was stuffed from the 1-yard line later in the third quarter during a string of seven consecutive plays inside the 5-yard line that wound up being a turnover on downs. Walker ended up with a 16-4 edge in rushing attempts over Charbonnet, but the backup scored the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter. Having handled at least 16 touches in all but two of his 10 appearances this season, Walker should get ample opportunities to bounce back from this disappointing outing in Week 14 against the Cardinals.
Nov 24, 2024
Tops 90 scrimmage yards Sunday
Walker carried the ball 16 times for 41 yards and caught four of six targets for 52 yards in Sunday's 16-6 win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
The third-year back has become a consistent pass-catching threat in 2024 under new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. Walker has already set new career highs with 36 catches and 274 receiving yards on the season in only nine games, and he's hauled in multiple passes in each of those contests. He'll look to keep rolling in Week 13 against the Jets.
Nov 17, 2024
Punches in touchdown Sunday
Walker took 14 carries for 54 yards and a touchdown while catching both of his targets for five yards in Sunday's 20-17 win over the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Walker turned in an efficient rushing performance given the amount of touches he received in a defensive bout between NFC West rivals. The 24-year-old's 3.9 yards per carry mark was weighed down by a pair of short carries from in close that netted the back his seventh rushing touchdown of the season. Walker should continue leading Seattle's backfield in a critical NFC West matchup against the Cardinals next Sunday.
Nov 3, 2024
Combines to go over century mark
Walker rushed 25 times for 83 yards and caught all three of his targets for 25 yards in Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Walker combined to go for over 100 yards, but he required 28 touches to reach that mark. Seattle's workhorse continues to dominate the backfield touches despite struggling on a per-carry basis in recent weeks. Walker remains a strong fantasy play despite his recent shortcomings as the Seahawks enter the bye week. Seattle will resume play against the 49ers on Nov. 17.
Oct 27, 2024
Falters on 13 touches
Walker rushed nine times for 12 yards and caught four of five targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Walker was dealing with an illness leading up to Sunday's kickoff, but it was a negative game script that led to an abysmal showing from a fantasy perspective. Seattle's leading rusher wound up being quarterback Geno Smith (5-16-0) on a day where the rushing attack could get nothing going. Walker was coming off of consecutive appearances with at least one touchdown scored, so fantasy managers should simply move past this dud as the Seahawks prepare to host the Rams next Sunday.
Oct 25, 2024
Set to play Sunday
Walker (illness) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's contest versus the Bills, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker played through an illness Week 7 in Atlanta, producing 93 yards from scrimmage and two total touchdowns on 16 touches and a 47 percent snap share. Meanwhile, reserve back Zach Charbonnet handled 55 percent of snaps and had eight touches for nine total yards. Walker opened the week with an absence Wednesday and then practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, but his lack of a game status ahead of the weekend indicates he should be good for his normal workload of 60-to-70 percent of offensive plays Sunday.
Oct 24, 2024
Gets back to limited Thursday
Walker (illness) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker gutted through an illness this past Sunday in Atlanta, but he still was able to handle a 47 percent snap share and turn 16 touches into 93 yards from scrimmage and two total TDs. Fellow RB Zach Charbonnet actually saw the field more than Walker, earning 55 percent of snaps, but his eight touches went for a measly nine total yards. Walker has followed up Wednesday's absence with some activity one day later, indicating he's trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Bills.
Oct 23, 2024
Still dealing with illness
Walker didn't take part in Wednesday's practice due to an illness, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker came down with an illness this past weekend that left him questionable for Week 7 action. He ended up suiting up Sunday in Atlanta, and while his snap share of 47 percent was below his norm (60-70 percent) on the season, he still had 14 carries for 69 yards and one touchdown and gathered in both targets for 24 yards and another TD. Meanwhile No. 2 RB Zach Charbonnet earned a 55 percent snap share and tallied eight touches for just nine total yards. Because Walker remains under the weather at the beginning of Week 8 prep, he has plenty of time to put the ailment behind him ahead of Sunday's game against the Bills.
Oct 20, 2024
Strong showing despite illness
Walker (illness) rushed 14 times for 69 yards and a touchdown and brought in both targets for 24 yards and another score in the Seahawks' 34-14 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Walker was a Saturday addition to the injury report due to the illness, but the third-year back didn't display any signs of attrition while helping the Seahawks to a win on his 24th birthday. Walker hit pay dirt twice in a game for the second time this season, recording scoring plays on a 20-yard run and 17-yard reception in the second and third quarters, respectively. The latter play showed off Walker's receiver-like skills, as he managed a picturesque fingertip grab. Walker should have plenty of time to get back to full health ahead of a Week 8 home showdown against the Bills.
Oct 20, 2024
Active against Atlanta
Walker (illness) is active for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker appeared on the injury report Saturday with an undisclosed illness, but he will be on the field for Sunday's matchup. He has been Seattle's lead back this season, though it's unclear if his health will interfere with his usage against Atlanta. Walker will also look to get back to his early-season form, as he's managed only 51 yards on 19 carries combined across the last two games.
Oct 19, 2024
Added to injury report with illness
Walker was added to Saturday's injury report with an illness and is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
It's reassuring in the sense the Seahawks didn't call up any running back from the practice squad, but obviously fantasy managers need to monitor Walker's status given the sudden addition to the injury report. Should the dynamic 23-year-old miss time, Zach Charbonnet would immediately step in as the primary running back.
Oct 11, 2024
Salvages inefficient rushing night
Walker rushed 14 times for 32 yards and a touchdown and secured all eight targets for 37 yards in the Seahawks' 36-24 loss to the 49ers on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Walker's highly inefficient work on the ground was partly offset by his one-yard scoring run late in the third quarter and his second straight very busy game as a receiver. The third-year back's reception total was a new career high, besting the seven catches he'd just recorded in a Week 5 loss to the Giants. Walker's rushing struggles are a concern heading into a Week 7 road matchup against the Falcons on Sunday, Oct. 20, as he's now gained just 51 yards on 19 carries over his last pair of contests.
Oct 6, 2024
Struggles in defeat
Walker rushed five times for 19 yards and caught seven of eight targets for 57 yards in Sunday's 29-20 loss to the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Walked did not carry an injury designation into Sunday's tilt after being limited during the practice week due to a lingering oblique injury. The veteran starter scored three touchdowns in his return from the aforementioned oblique strain in Week 4, so his poor performance against the Giants wasn't related. Walker still led Seattle in running back carries and also all receivers in targets Sunday. Barring any health concerns, fantasy managers should stick with Walker heading into Thursday's home matchup against San Francisco.
Oct 4, 2024
No injury designation
Walker (oblique) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Giants, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker returned from the oblique injury to score three touchdowns in Monday's loss at Detroit after missing the previous three games. He seems to have avoided setbacks this week and should be ready for his usual lead role come Sunday.
Oct 3, 2024
Logs limited practice Thursday
Walker (oblique) was limited in practice Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker opened Week 5 prep with a full listing following Wednesday's walkthrough, but he fell back to a capped session one day later. The limitations likely are maintenance-related after he sat out Weeks 2 and 3 due to an oblique injury and then returned Monday at Detroit, where he had 16 touches for 116 yards from scrimmage and three rushing TDs on a 59 percent snap share. In the end, Friday's practice report will unveil whether or not Walker goes into the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Sep 30, 2024
Scores thrice in MNF loss
Walker rushed 12 times for 80 yards and three touchdowns while adding four receptions for 36 yards in Monday's 42-29 loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Walker was cleared from his oblique injury prior to Monday's kickoff, affording fantasy managers a comfortable decision to start Seattle's lead back for a monster three-score game. The 23-year-old missed the Seahawk's previous two games with the aforementioned injury, and he clearly was chomping at the bit to get back out there after a standout effort. A healthy Walker heads into a Week 5 matchup against the Giants on Sunday.
Sep 28, 2024
Set for Monday
Walker does not carry an injury designation into Monday's contest against the Lions, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker practiced in limited fashion both Thursday and Friday, so it seemed like the electric tailback was likely primed to play after missing the previous two games. He'll return against a tough Lions defense that's allowed the fourth-fewest rushing yards this season.
Sep 27, 2024
Limited again Friday
Walker (oblique) was limited at Friday's walkthrough, Corbin K. Smith of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After donning pads at Thursday's practice, Walker was able to go down as a limited participant for a second day in a row. He appears to be closing in on a return to action since suffering an oblique injury Week 1, which has sidelined him the last two games. Ultimately, Saturday's practice report will reveal whether or not he heads into Monday's contest at Detroit with a designation. Zach Charbonnet would stand to benefit if Walker is inhibited or sidelined again for Week 4 action.
Sep 26, 2024
Limited to kick off week
Walker (oblique) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Going back to last week, Walker has put together back-to-back capped sessions as he draws closer to completing his recovery from the oblique injury that he suffered Week 1 against the Broncos. According to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times, Walker was in pads and had his helmet during warmups Thursday. The Seahawks have a pair of practices remaining during Week 4 prep in which Walker can demonstrate his health before the Seahawks may give him a designation ahead of Monday's game at Detroit. If he's able to return, there's a chance he could split reps with No. 2 RB Zach Charbonnet, though Walker has averaged 16.9 touches per game in two-plus seasons as a pro.
Sep 22, 2024
Inactive in Week 3
Walker (oblique) is listed as inactive Sunday against the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Considering the Seahawks listed Walker as doubtful to suit up Sunday due to the oblique injury that he suffered in the season opener, it comes as no surprise that he found himself among the team's Week 3 inactives. Having said that, he displayed some progress in his recovery by running on the side during warmups Thursday and officially returning to practice Friday as a limited participant. Nevertheless, Walker again will cede Seattle's backfield to Zach Charbonnet, who handled 67 of 70 offensive snaps last Sunday in New England on his way to 19 touches for 69 yards from scrimmage and one rushing TD.
Sep 20, 2024
Doubtful despite practice return
Walker (oblique) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against Miami but he did manage a limited practice Friday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
The return to practice is a good sign for Week 4, if nothing else, and it confirms that fantasy managers planning to start Zach Charbonnet will need to check Seattle's inactive list ahead of a 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff this Sunday. Walker will have an extra day to get ready the following week, as Seattle faces the Lions on Monday, Sept. 30.
Sep 20, 2024
Listed as doubtful
Walker (oblique) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against Miami, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker ran on a side field Thursday but still hasn't practiced since injuring his oblique in the fourth quarter of a Week 1 win over Denver. Fellow Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet took 95 percent of snap on offense in a 23-20 overtime win over the Patriots last week, taking 14 carries for 38 yards and a touchdown while adding five catches for 31 yards. In the highly like event Walker is inactive again, Charbonnet's projected workload will make him a strong option for fantasy lineups even though he's struggled with rushing efficiency and explosiveness to this point in his career.
Sep 19, 2024
No practice again Thursday
Walker (oblique) officially didn't practice Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker hasn't taken part in drills since suffering an oblique injury during a Week 1 win against the Broncos, but he may be making some progress in his recovery, as he was spotted running on a side field during warmups prior to Thursday's session, per Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. Before sitting out Week 2 at New England, Seattle listed him as doubtful to suit up, so the team could take a similar approach when it posts its final practice report of the week Friday. Zach Charbonnet is on hand to man the Seahawks backfield if Walker misses a second consecutive game Sunday versus the Dolphins.
Sep 19, 2024
Little activity Thursday
Walker (oblique) was seen running on the side during Thursday's practice, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker thus seems destined to go down as a non-participant for a second straight session to begin Week 3 prep, giving him just one more chance to practice ahead of the weekend. If Walker misses a second game in a row Sunday against the Dolphins, Zach Charbonnet again will pace the Seahawks backfield.
Sep 18, 2024
Still not practicing
Walker (oblique) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker has yet to log any practice reps since injuring his oblique during the Seahawks' Week 1 win against the Broncos, but he was seen running on a side field Wednesday, per Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune. The development followed coach Mike Macdonald telling Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times prior to the session, "We'll see," regarding the running back taking part in practice this week. Walker has two more chances to do so before Seattle may make a ruling on his availability for Sunday's game versus the Dolphins. Zach Charbonnet had 19 touches for 69 yards from scrimmage and a rushing TD in place of Walker during a Week 2 victory at New England and would be called on again in the event of another absence from the latter.
Sep 15, 2024
Not playing Week 2
Walker (oblique) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Walker was unable to practice in any fashion Wednesday through Friday due to the oblique injury, which prompted the Seahawks to list him as doubtful heading into game day. With Walker now officially ruled out, Zach Charbonnet is expected to move into a leading role out of the backfield, leaving Kenny McIntosh and practice-squad call-up George Holani to fill depth roles behind him. Walker will turn his focus to shaking off the oblique injury with the hope of returning to action next Sunday versus Miami.
Sep 13, 2024
Doubtful for Week 2
Walker (oblique) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game at New England, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker was injured during the fourth quarter of a Week 1 win over Denver, after dominating Seattle's backfield snaps and touches over the first 50 minutes of the game. Zach Charbonnet took over in the closing minutes and now figures to make his third career start, with Kenny McIntosh likely getting some touches off the bench. Charbonnet averaged 19.7 touches and 48.7 snaps over a three-game stretch last season when Walker was injured, scoring one TD while averaging 75.3 total yards. It remains to be seen if Walker's absence will lead to a similarly huge workload for Charbonnet under a new coaching staff.
Sep 12, 2024
Sits out again Thursday
Walker (oblique) missed Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker's continued lack of activity this week since injuring his oblique this past Sunday against the Broncos is concerning, to say the least. On the one hand, coach Mike Macdonald told Brady Henderson of ESPN.com on Wednesday that he wants to take Walker's situation day by day, so having the running back focus on rehab versus on-field work makes sense. On the other, Walker now has just one session (Friday) to make his presence felt before Seattle potentially makes a ruling on his availability for Sunday's contest in New England. If Walker is inhibited or out Week 2, Zach Charbonnet would be the Seahawks' primary runner, with Kenny McIntosh and practice-squad member George Holani candidates to get work behind him.
Sep 11, 2024
Officially DNP on Wednesday
Walker (oblique) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Seahawks cited an abdominal injury as the reason Walker was deemed questionable to return during the fourth quarter of this past Sunday's win against the Broncos. Prior to Wednesday's session, coach Mike Macdonald told Brady Henderson of ESPN.com that he wasn't sure if Walker would take part, and the team wants to take the running back's situation day by day. In the end, an oblique issue is the cause of Walker's absence to begin Week 2 prep, and if he ends up limited or sidelined Sunday at New England, Zach Charbonnet would be the primary beneficiary out of Seattle's backfield.
Sep 11, 2024
Uncertain to practice Wednesday
Coach Mike Macdonald said he isn't sure if Walker (abdomen) will practice Wednesday and wants to take things day by day, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker suffered an abdominal injury during the fourth quarter of a 26-20 win over Denver on Sunday, leaving the Seattle backfield in Zach Charbonnet's hands down the stretch. Prior to the final 10 minutes, Walker played 80 percent of snaps and took 20 of the 24 RB carries, handling a much larger role than what he had for most of last season. It appears the new coaching staff in Seattle could do wonders for Walker's fantasy value, but first he'll need to prove he's healthy before a game at New England this Sunday. It sounds like the Seahawks view him as day-to-day and aren't in any rush to provide serious hints about his Week 2 availability.
Sep 9, 2024
No new update from coach
Coach Mike Macdonald didn't have a concrete update on Walker (abdomen) Monday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
When addressing the status of Walker -- who suffered an abdominal injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win over the Broncos -- Macdonald noted Monday that there's "nothing new right now, just taking it day by day with (the running back." For his part, following the Seahawks' Week 1 contest, Walker said "I'm good," but his practice participation will nonetheless be worth monitoring ahead of this weekend's game against the Patriots.
Sep 8, 2024
Hurts abdomen late in strong Week 1
Walker suffered an abdominal injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 26-20 win over the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Walker subbed out late in the fourth quarter due to abdominal pain. Prior to the injury, he rushed 20 times for 103 yards and a touchdown while adding two catches for six yards on three targets. In addition to scoring a 23-yard touchdown in the third quarter, Walker had a would-be six-yard touchdown nullified by a holding penalty on the following drive. Walker's practice participation will be worth monitoring as the Seahawks prepare to face the Patriots in Week 2.
Aug 17, 2024
Rested through two preseason games
Walker did not participate in Saturday's 16-15 preseason loss to the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Walker has not taken the field for either of Seattle's first two preseason games, which doesn't come as much surprise given that he's projected to serve as the lead back in Seattle. He could cede some touches to Zach Charbonnet (undisclosed) on obvious passing downs in 2024, but Walker looks to be in a strong position to top 200 carries for the third time in as many pro seasons.
May 2, 2024
No competition arrives via draft
Walker is expected to remain the No. 1 running back for the 2024 season after the Seahawks didn't select a running back in the NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
The Seahawks did sign George Holani and TaMerik Williams as undrafted free agents, per Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic, but neither player presents a real threat to Walker's job. While Walker and 2023 second-round pick Zach Charbonnet split snaps last season, Walker was still the clear No. 1 back with 219 carries for 905 yards (4.1 YPC) and eight touchdowns. He added 29 receptions for 259 yards and a score. The Seahawks added three linemen in the draft, including third-round pick Christian Haynes, so they're hoping their offensive line will show more consistency this year.
Jan 7, 2024
Leads backfield with 18 touches
Walker (shoulder) rushed 17 times for 78 yards and caught his only target for three yards in Sunday's 21-20 win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Walker was cleared of the shoulder injury that had plagued him in recent weeks and led Seattle's backfield with 17 carries in Sunday's thrilling comeback win. While the 9-8 Seahawks still narrowly missed the playoffs, the team's lead back turned in another solid fantasy season. Walker gained over 1,000 combined yards from scrimmage while scoring nine touchdowns over 15 games, numbers that somewhat mirror his impressive 228/1,050/9 rookie rushing line last season. The 23-year-old will enter the third year of his rookie deal likely leading Seattle's rising backfield duo of he and Zach Charbonnet in 2024.
Jan 5, 2024
Will suit up Week 18
Walker (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker missed two games with an oblique injury in November and early December and now has been playing through a shoulder injury the past few weeks. He'll suit up again as the Seahawks battle for a playoff spot, likely leading the team in carries while Zach Charbonnet handles more of the pass snaps.
Jan 4, 2024
Returns as limited participant
Walker (shoulder) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing Wednesday's session due to a lingering shoulder injury, Walker was able to get back on the practice field one day later, which didn't happen until last Friday ahead of this past Sunday's game against the Steelers. This seems to confirm coach Pete Carroll's comments to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times on Wednesday that Walker is in a better spot this week as opposed to last week. Walker has one more chance to get back to full Friday before the Seahawks potentially give him a designation for Sunday's regular-season finale at Arizona. That said, if he's able to suit up for that contest, he should resume his role as the team's top running back, which has resulted in 131 yards from scrimmage and one rushing TD on 30 touches in the two games in which he's played through his current health concern.
Jan 3, 2024
Doesn't practice Wednesday
Walker (shoulder) officially didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Earlier Wednesday, coach Pete Carroll told Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic that Walker took part in the team's walkthrough, but the running back ultimately was marked down as a DNP on the Seahawks' first injury report of Week 18 prep. A shoulder issue has been to blame for Walker's practice restrictions for three weeks in a row, and despite leaving this past Sunday's loss to the Steelers in the third quarter, he racked up 30 touches for 131 yards from scrimmage and one rushing TD over the last two games. Meanwhile, No. 2 RB Zach Charbonnet has seen his touch count fall off a cliff of late, as he's turned just 10 into 37 total yards during that same span. As long as Walker is able to emerge from this week and suit up Sunday at Arizona, he likely will get the bulk of the work between him and Charbonnet.

Takes part in walkthrough
Coach Pete Carroll said Walker (shoulder) participated in Wednesday's walkthrough and looked OK, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker has played through a shoulder injury the last two games, but he didn't return to Sunday's loss to the Steelers after taking a big hit early in the third quarter, despite being listed as probable to do so. According to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times, Carroll added that Walker looked better Wednesday than he did a week ago at the same point, so the running back seems to be trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's regular-season finale at Arizona. Wednesday's practice report will unveil how much work Walker was able to muster to kick off Week 18 prep.
Dec 31, 2023
Limited by shoulder injury
Walker (shoulder) rushed the ball 10 times for 53 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-23 loss to the Steelers. He added three receptions on three targets for 22 yards.
ANALYSIS
Walker was having a strong performance and was well on his way to 100 total yards from scrimmage. However, he aggravated his shoulder injury on a hard hit early in the third quarter, and despite being deemed probable to return, he never retook the field. That casts doubt on his status for a Week 18 matchup against the Cardinals, though he'll likely do his best to play through the issue in a must-win game for the Seahawks to have a chance at the postseason.
Dec 31, 2023
Active in Week 17
Walker (shoulder/illness) is listed as active Sunday against the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Walker followed the same practice routine this week as he did during Week 16 prep -- back-to-back DNPs followed by a limited session -- before the Seahawks termed him questionable for the upcoming game. However, coach Pete Carroll provided less clarity about Walker's upcoming availability this time around, calling him a game-time decision Friday, per Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic. The tide turned for the better following an ensuing report from Adam Schefter of ESPN that Walker was expected to suit up Sunday, and that has come to fruition. It remains to be seen if Walker will be able to handle his normal workload, but while playing through the shoulder injury last Sunday at Tennessee, he turned 58 percent of snaps into 17 touches for 56 yards from scrimmage, while reserve RB Zach Charbonnet took three touches for minus-4 yards on the other 42 percent of plays.
Dec 31, 2023
Expected to play in Week 17
Walker (shoulder/illness) is slated to suit up Sunday against the Steelers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
For the second week in a row, Walker didn't mix into drills until Friday's practice, when he was deemed a limited participant. Afterward, coach Pete Carroll told Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic that Walker would be a game-time decision this weekend, and Schefter noted in his report that the Seahawks are concerned about the shoulder injury that he aggravated last Sunday in Tennessee. As such, Walker may be subject to a pregame workout before the team makes a ruling as inactives are posted about 90 minutes before a 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff. If Walker is limited or even sidelined, Zach Charbonnet would be the likely beneficiary out of Seattle's backfield.
Dec 29, 2023
To be game-time decision Sunday
Coach Pete Carroll said Friday that Walker (shoulder/illness), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Steelers, will be a game-time call this weekend, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out the the first two sessions of Week 17 prep due to an existing shoulder injury and a listed illness, Walker got back on the practice field Friday as a limited participant, per John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site. Walker followed the exact same regimen last week before being deemed questionable, but Carroll relayed an expectation at the time that Walker would suit up this past Sunday at Tennessee, which came to pass. Considering Carroll was more tepid regarding Walker this time around, the running back's status bears watching in advance of Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 29, 2023
Gets 'questionable' tag
Walker (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday but was seen stretching prior to Friday's practice, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports. It remains to be seen if Walker did enough to be listed as a participant when the Seahawks release their final injury report Friday. The team likely will turn to Zach Charbonnet in a high-usage role if Walker doesn't end up playing Sunday.
Dec 28, 2023
Sits out another practice
Walker (shoulder/illness) officially didn't practice Thursday, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker was present but not participating during the portion of Thursday's session open to the media, and he indeed went down as a DNP for a second consecutive day. If he follows last week's practice regimen, he'll be listed as limited Friday and questionable for Sunday's game versus the Steelers, but there's the added roadblock of an illness that he's dealing with this time around, so his status for Week 17 is up in the air at the moment.
Dec 28, 2023
Not practicing Thursday
Walker (shoulder/illness) wasn't taking part in the part of Thursday's practice open to the media, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker was present, though, as he deals with a shoulder injury for a second week in a row and also an illness that was listed on Wednesday's practice report. If he goes down as a non-participant for a second straight day -- as he did last week -- he'll have one more chance to mix into drills this time around before the Seahawks potentially hand him a designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Steelers. Walker was able to play in a Week 16 win at Tennessee on his way to 56 yards from scrimmage on 17 touches and a 58 percent snap share, while No. 2 running back Zach Charbonnet had three touches for minus-4 yards on the other 42 percent of plays.
Dec 27, 2023
Sits out Wednesday's walkthrough
Walker (shoulder/illness) didn't participate in Wednesday's walkthrough, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Last week, the Seahawks delayed any on-field work for Walker until Friday, so his lack of activity to begin Week 17 prep isn't a surprise. But he's also being listed with an illness, which throws a wrench into his status this time around. In any case, Walker has two more chances this week to put himself on a path to suit up Sunday against the Steelers. While playing through the shoulder issue this past Sunday at Tennessee, he easily paced Seattle's backfield with 17 touches for 56 yards from scrimmage on a 58 percent snap share, with No. 2 RB Zach Charbonnet picking up the other 42 percent of plays en route to three touches for minus-4 yards.
Dec 24, 2023
Held to 56 yards on 17 touches
Walker (shoulder) rushed 16 times for 54 yards and caught one of two targets for two yards in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Walker was limited to just one practice session this week by a mild shoulder injury, but his status for Sunday's contest wasn't in question based on team reports. The 23-year-old's workload was unaffected by the nagging injury, as he led Seattle's backfield with 17 touches compared to backfield mate Zach Charbonnet's three. Barring unexpected health issues during the practice week, expect Walker to hover around 20 combined touches against Pittsburgh next Sunday.
Dec 24, 2023
Playing Sunday
Walker (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game at Tennessee.
ANALYSIS
The second half of Walker's 2023 season has been characterized by injuries, with the current shoulder issue capping the second-year running back to one limited session (Friday) during Week 16 prep. Nevertheless, coach Pete Carroll told Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic on Friday that Walker would play Sunday, and Adam Schefter of ESPN mimicked that sentiment via a report late Saturday. Now that Walker's status has been confirmed, there's a good chance he handles a similar workload to last Monday's win against the Eagles, when he parlayed a 56 percent snap share into 22 touches for 112 yards from scrimmage and a rushing TD. Meanwhile, reserve RB Zach Charbonnet logged 44 percent of snaps into four carries for 16 yards in that contest.
Dec 24, 2023
Seems likely to play
Walker (shoulder), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Titans, is trending towards playing, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
This is hardly a secret considering head coach Pete Carroll echoed a similar sentiment following Friday's practice, which also marked Walker's first participation in practice this week. More concerning for fantasy managers is a difficult matchup against Tennessee's rugged run defense, although that unit may take a step back due to the absence of Jeffery Simmons, who was placed on injured reserve Saturday with a knee injury. Official confirmation regarding Walker's availability should arrive well before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 22, 2023
Expected to play
Coach Pete Carroll said Friday that Walker (shoulder) will play in Sunday's game against the Titans even though he's officially listed as questionable, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Carroll apparently liked what he saw during Friday's practice, which marked Walker's first participation of the week. The running back's absences Wednesday and Thursday don't seem too concerning, especially given the quick turnaround after a Monday win over the Eagles in which Walker took 22 touches for 112 yards and a TD. Cautious fantasy managers may nonetheless want to track the situation ahead of a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday to make sure Walker is indeed active against a Titans defense that has five starters and two key backups ruled out this week.
Dec 22, 2023
Questionable for Sunday
Walker (shoulder) returned to practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Tennessee, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, after taking 22 touches for 112 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 20-17 win over the Eagles. His return to practice Friday -- and ability to play through the fourth quarter Monday -- would seem to hint at active status this Sunday, with further updates likely available from coach Pete Carroll and national NFL reporters alike.
Dec 21, 2023
Still not practicing this week
Walker (shoulder) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out Wednesday's walkthrough due to a shoulder issue, Walker now has missed back-to-back sessions to begin Week 16 prep. His activity level Friday likely will be key to how the Seahawks decide to list him on their final injury report ahead of Sunday's game at Tennessee. If Walker is limited or even ends up sidelined, the team again would turn over its backfield to rookie second-round pick Zach Charbonnet.
Dec 20, 2023
Tending to new injury
Walker didn't participate in Wednesday's walkthrough due to a shoulder injury, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker previously sat out Weeks 12 and 13 with a strained oblique, so he's emerged from Monday's win against the Eagles with a new health concern. In that contest, he notched 34 of 61 offensive snaps while reserve running back Zach Charbonnet logged 27. The close gap in usage wasn't reflected in the box score, though, as Walker turned 22 touches into 112 yards from scrimmage and a rushing TD, and Charbonnet had four carries for 16 yards. Walker's lack of activity to kick off Week 16 prep may be a precautionary measure after the recent heavy workload he took on, but his status nonetheless will be watched to get a sense of his availability ahead of Sunday's game at Tennessee.
Dec 19, 2023
Top fantasy producer for SEA
Walker rushed 19 times for 86 yards and a touchdown while catching all three of his targets for 26 yards in Monday's 20-17 win over the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Walker looked liked his old self after shaking off the rust in his return from injury against San Francisco in Week 14. The 23-year-old teamed up with new starting quarterback Drew Lock to score the pair of touchdowns that help the Seahawks upset the visiting Eagles on the national stage. Walker finished with 22 touches to backup Zach Charbonnet's five, reinforcing the former's status as the lead back. Expect Walker to continue leading Seattle's backfield in a road matchup against the Titans on Sunday.
Dec 10, 2023
Struggles in return to action
Walker (oblique) had eight carries for 21 yards and caught four of five targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 28-16 loss to San Francisco.
ANALYSIS
Walker returned from a two-game layoff and was greeted by a buzzsaw in the form of the 49ers' defense Sunday. The 23-year-old wound up receivig two more touches than backfield mate Zach Charbonnet (knee), who was limited in practice this week with an injury of his own. Walker struggled while splitting carries in his first game back, but the lowered usage was likely a result of being eased back into action. Look for the power back's touches to increase in Week 15 with the added day of rest and recuperation ahead next Monday's tilt against Philadelphia.
Dec 10, 2023
Back in action Sunday
Walker (oblique) is active for Sunday's game at San Francisco.
ANALYSIS
After missing the past two contests due to a strained oblique, Walker is back in action for the first time since Week 11. Both he and fellow running back Zach Charbonnet (knee) followed the same practice regimen this week, going DNP on Wednesday, limited Thursday and then full Friday. In the eight outings (Weeks 1-4, 6 and 8-10) in which both have been healthy this season, Walker racked up 123 touches for 500 yards from scrimmage and seven TDs versus Charbonnet's respective 51-284-0 line. A similar breakdown likely can be expected between the two Sunday.
Dec 10, 2023
Appears set to return Sunday
Walker (oblique) is expected to play in Sunday's Week 14 game against San Francisco, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker has missed the Seahawks' past two games due to an oblique injury, but he practiced in full Friday following a DNP/LP progression during the first two days of Week 14 prep. It appears that he'll thus be able to take the field Sunday, and he'll likely return to the lead-back role that has been handled by Zach Charbonnet (knee) in his stead. Charbonnet is also expected to suit up Sunday, per Schefter, but the Seahawks could be without quarterback Geno Smith, who will be a game-time call due to a groin injury.
Dec 8, 2023
Full practice Friday
Walker (oblique) was a full practice participant Friday, with coach Pete Carroll seemingly optimistic the running back will play in Sunday's game at San Francisco after being listed as questionable, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker and Zach Charbonnet (knee) followed the same practice routine this week, sitting out Wednesday and logging limited sessions Thursday before upgrading to full Friday. Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune agrees that Walker is on track to return to the starting role, though he'd been ceding about half the snaps to Charbonnet before missing the past two games -- with the rookie mostly playing on passing downs and Walker handling the majority of carries. It's a tough matchup for both this weekend, facing the 49ers at 4:05 p.m. ET.
Dec 8, 2023
Questionable for Week 14
Walker (oblique) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at San Francisco, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker and Zach Charbonnet (knee) both get the same designation after returning to practice Thursday as limited participants. They'd been splitting snaps about 50/50 before Walker missed the past two games with an injury, though Walker had a sizable advantage when it came to carry counts. Charbonnet then dominated backfield work the past two weeks, with DeeJay Dallas barely playing as the backup until a knee contusion forced Charbonnet out in the fourth quarter of last Thursday's loss to Dallas.
Dec 7, 2023
Returns to limited practice
Walker (oblique) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The same can be said for No. 2 running back Zach Charbonnet (knee), meaning Friday's session will be key for both players as the Seahawks prepare for Sunday's visit to the 49ers. Walker has missed two straight games due to a strained oblique, and while Charbonnet has been filling in for him, he sustained a bruised knee in the fourth quarter last Thursday at Dallas. Walker's upcoming workload, if he's active, may be contingent on Charbonnet's availability, but if both are inhibited or sidelined, DeeJay Dallas could be the Seahawks' primary runner this weekend.
Dec 6, 2023
Sits out Wednesday's practice
Walker (oblique) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Neither Walker nor Zach Charbonnet (knee) took part in drills to begin Week 14 prep, but coach Pete Carroll told Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times on Wednesday that both running backs logged some reps during an earlier walkthrough. Walker so far has missed the Seahawks' last two games due to a strained oblique, and Charbonnet joined him on the injury report this week after sustaining a bruised knee last Thursday in Dallas. As such, the state of Seattle's backfield is in flux ahead of Sunday's contest at San Francisco. Beyond that duo, DeeJay Dallas and Kenny McIntosh are the healthy options at the position on the active roster, while Bryant Koback and SaRodorick Thompson are candidates to be elevated from the practice squad.
Dec 1, 2023
Could return Week 14
Coach Pete Carroll said Friday that Walker (oblique) "might" be able to play Week 14 at the 49ers, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker missed the past two games, including a close loss to the Cowboys on Thursday in which replacement starter Zach Charbonnet suffered a knee bruise midway through the fourth quarter. Prior to his injury, the rookie was on track to play more than three-fourths of Seattle's offensive snaps for a second straight week, with backup DeeJay Dallas rarely seeing the field apart from two-minute drills and third downs. It sounds like Charbonnet has a better chance than Walker to suit up against San Francisco, though we'll have a better idea next week once the Seahawks resume practice.
Nov 30, 2023
Sitting out again Thursday
Walker (oblique) is listed as inactive Thursday at Dallas.
ANALYSIS
For a second week in a row, Walker wasn't able to log any on-field work due to the oblique injury that he suffered Week 11 at the Rams. Now that he's confirmed to be inactive for another contest, he'll cede the Seahawks backfield to Zach Charbonnet yet again, with DeeJay Dallas and Kenny McIntosh serving as the backups. Walker will turn his focus to getting healthy for Seattle's key Week 14 visit to San Francisco.
Nov 29, 2023
Status in doubt for Thursday
Walker (oblique) is listed as doubtful for Thursday's game in Dallas, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker has yet to practice since suffering an oblique injury Week 11 against the Rams, and his listing on the Seahawks' final Week 13 injury report Wednesday backs up a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network that the running back is in line to miss a second straight contest. Assuming he's indeed inactive Thursday, Walker will yield most of Seattle's backfield to rookie second-round pick Zach Charbonnet, while DeeJay Dallas and Kenny McIntosh will be the candidates to fill in behind him.
Nov 29, 2023
Availability in doubt for TNF
Walker (oblique) appears to be trending in the wrong direction for Thursday's game against the Cowboys, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker missed Tuesday's practice while continuing to nurse the oblique tear that kept him out of last week's Thanksgiving Day loss to the 49ers. With Seattle facing a short week head of another Thursday game, and Walker still not practicing, he's beginning to look like a longshot for Week 13, though coach Pete Carroll hasn't yet ruled him out. Wednesday's practice will represent Walker's last chance to get some reps in before being tagged with a game-day injury designation. If he can't go, rookie Zach Charbonnet will stand to lead Seattle's backfield on the road against Dallas.
Nov 28, 2023
Could sit again Week 13
Walker (oblique) isn't participating in Tuesday's practice, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker sat out the Seahawks' Thanksgiving Day loss to the 49ers due to a strained oblique, and he may be trending toward another absence Week 13, with Seattle set to face the Cowboys in a second straight Thursday night game. According to Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune, head coach Pete Carroll didn't definitively rule Walker out for this week's contest, but he said the running back will go into the game with "some questions," per Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle. Carroll also noted that he hasn't seen anything from Walker this week to suggest that the 23-year-old is any healthier than he was a week ago, so rookie Zach Charbonnet looks like he could be in store for another turn as Seattle's lead back.
Nov 27, 2023
No practice Monday
Walker (oblique) didn't practice Monday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After suffering a strained oblique Week 11 at the Rams, Walker was listed as a non-participant in all three Week 12 injury reports before the Seahawks made him inactive for last Thursday's loss to the 49ers. He's opening Week 13 prep in a similar spot, but coach Pete Carroll did note Friday that the team is hopeful Walker is able to play Thursday in Dallas, even if he doesn't get much on-field work this week, per Brady Henderson of ESPN.com. Walker thus will use Tuesday and Wednesday as a means to prove his health for Thursday's game. If Walker is limited or sidelined, though, Zach Charbonnet is set to lead Seattle's backfield, with DeeJay Dallas mixing in as well.
Nov 24, 2023
Chance he plays Week 13
Coach Pete Carroll said Friday that the team hopes Walker (oblique) will be able to suit up in Week 13 against the Cowboys, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Carroll added that Walker's unlikely to do much in practice prior to the game against Dallas, which will be Seattle's second consecutive Thursday game. Walker sat out the 31-13 loss to San Francisco on Thanksgiving after hurting his oblique in Week 11 against the Rams. Zach Charbonnet started in place of Walker against the 49ers, but the rookie produced just 58 scrimmage yards on 18 touches in his first NFL start. Even if Walker ends up being available versus Dallas, he's unlikely to be cleared until shortly prior to game time based on Carroll's comments.
Nov 23, 2023
Officially inactive Thursday
Walker (oblique) is inactive for Thursday's game against the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Walker seemed likely to miss at least one contest due to the strained oblique that he suffered this past Sunday versus the Rams after being listed as a DNP on all three of the Seahawks' Week 12 practice reports. However, coach Pete Carroll told Colin Gunther of the team's official site Wednesday that Walker received a doubtful designation "because you never know." It may not mean Walker has a chance to return next Thursday night at Dallas, but his status will continue to be monitored to see how realistic that may be. With Walker sidelined, Zach Charbonnet will pace Seattle's backfield, while DeeJay Dallas and Kenny McIntosh will be the reserve options.
Nov 22, 2023
Doubtful to play Thursday
Walker (oblique) is listed as doubtful for Thursday's game against the 49ers, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker was expected to miss some time due to the oblique strain that he suffered Sunday versus the Rams, and he now is one step closer to sitting out his first game of the season, which will be confirmed about 90 minutes before Thursday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff. He'll thus cede the Seahawks backfield to rookie second-round pick Zach Charbonnet, with DeeJay Dallas and Kenny McIntosh in reserve. Walker's next chance for game action is Thursday, Nov. 30 at Dallas.
Nov 21, 2023
Another DNP on Tuesday
Walker (oblique) was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday's injury report, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Seahawks did get in some on-field work Tuesday, but Walker wasn't one of those who took part as he tends to a strained oblique that he suffered Sunday against the Rams. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, coach Pete Carroll has called Walker's injury "legit," and another absence Wednesday may spur Seattle to rule out the running back ahead of Thursday's game versus the 49ers. Assuming Walker is inactive Week 12, Zach Charbonnet is in line to be the team's top running back, with potentially all of DeeJay Dallas (shoulder, FP this week), Kenny McIntosh and practice-squad member Bryant Koback available behind him.
Nov 20, 2023
DNP on Monday's practice estimate
Walker (oblique) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated injury report, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
This comes as no surprise after Walker was considered doubtful to return to Sunday's eventual loss at the Rams due to an oblique injury, which coach Pete Carroll called "legit" in the wake of the game, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. With a short week to prepare for Thursday's contest against the 49ers, he seems like a good bet to be unavailable Week 12, but Carroll said Monday that he doesn't consider Walker to be a candidate for injured reserve, per Schefter. Assuming Walker can't play Thursday, Zach Charbonnet is slated to lead the Seahawks backfield, with DeeJay Dallas, Kenny McIntosh and potentially practice-squad member Bryant Koback mixing in behind him.
Nov 20, 2023
Not currently an IR candidate
Coach Pete Carroll noted Monday that the Seahawks don't consider Walker (oblique) to be an IR candidate at this time, but acknowledged that the team needs to learn more about the running back's injury before determining how much time he might miss, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Given that Seahawks play Thursday night against the 49ers, Walker's Week 12 status is cloudy following his early departure from Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Rams. If he's unavailable versus San Francisco, Zach Charbonnet would be in line to lead the team's backfield, with DeeJay Dallas and Kenny McIntosh on hand to mix in.
Nov 19, 2023
Could miss time with oblique strain
Walker suffered an "oblique strain that was legit" in Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Rams, coach Pete Carroll said after the game, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker is in danger of missing additional game action after exiting the Week 11 loss, especially with a short week before Thursday's home game against the Packers. Zach Charbonnet got the majority of running back reps after Walker's exit Sunday, but DeeJay Dallas could also see an uptick in opportunities for the duration of Walker's absence.
Nov 19, 2023
Exits Sunday's game
Walker was forced out of Sunday's game against the Rams with an oblique injury.
ANALYSIS
Prior to his exit from the contest, Walker recorded four carries for 18 yards and one catch for minus-two yards. In his absence, Zach Charbonnet is in line to log added backfield touches versus Los Angeles.
Nov 12, 2023
Rips off long TD in win
Walker rushed 19 times for 63 yards and caught one of his two targets for a 64-yard touchdown in Sunday's 29-26 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Walker struggled to gain much traction as a runner against Washington's defensive front (3.3 YPC), but he finally broke free in the third quarter when he took a short pass from Geno Smith on Seattle's half of the field all the way to the house for the first receiving touchdown of his career. Sunday's strong fantasy output gives the 23-year-old 770 combined yards from scrimmage and seven total touchdowns through nine games this season. Walker's healthy production combined with his firm grip on the starting job in Seattle make him a universal starting option against the Rams next Sunday.
Nov 9, 2023
Gets back to full participation
Walker (chest) practiced fully Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker is tending to a health concern for the third time this season, but after sitting out Wednesday's session due to a chest injury, he was uninhibited one day later. His workload has been scaled back somewhat the last two games, resulting in 19 touches for 87 yards from scrimmage during that stretch. Walker will be looking to bounce back Sunday versus a Commanders defense that has conceded both the 11th-most yards per carry (4.2) and receptions (44) to opposing running backs in nine games this season.
Nov 8, 2023
Tending to chest injury
Walker didn't practice Wednesday due to a chest injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker has dealt with the occasional health concern this season, namely Week 1 due to a groin issue and Week 9 with a calf injury, but neither one impacted his availability for game day. He had his roughest outing of the campaign this past Sunday against the Browns' top-ranked defense in terms of yards allowed, totaling 17 yards from scrimmage on 10 touches. With another injury in tow, Walker's status will be one to watch as the weekend draws closer to get a sense of his potential to play Sunday against the Commanders.
Nov 5, 2023
Stuffed by Ravens
Walker rushed the ball nine times for 16 yards in Sunday's 37-3 loss to the Ravens. He added one catch for one yard.
ANALYSIS
Walker ran into a number of issues in the loss, most notably a game script that didn't allow Seattle to rely on the run game. Along similar lines, Seattle ran only 47 plays while possessing the ball for just under 20 minutes. Finally, Baltimore is among the best defenses in the league, all of which combined for Walker's worst game of the season and his second consecutive matchup with under 10 rushing attempts.
Oct 29, 2023
Only eight carries
Walker rushed the ball eight times for 66 yards in Sunday's 24-20 win over the Browns. He added one catch for four yards.
ANALYSIS
Walker battled a calf injury coming out of a Week 7 matchup against the Cardinals and was unable to practice Wednesday or Thursday. While he entered Sunday's game without an injury designation, it's possible the issue nagged him as he was held to a season-low in carries. Though it was a disappointing result, Walker was in a particularly tough matchup and still has at least 60 rushing yards in six of his seven games this season.
Oct 27, 2023
Avoids injury designation
Walker (calf) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Browns, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
It appears the Seahawks were just being cautious when they held Walker out of practice Wednesday and Thursday with a minor calf injury. He does have a bit more competition for playing time with backup Zach Charbonnet cleared to return from a hamstring injury, but the rookie's presence hadn't been stopping Walker from ranking among the league leaders in carries and rushing TDs. A tough Cleveland defense is probably the bigger concern for Walker's fantasy production, though Jonathan Taylor put up 120 yards and a TD against the Browns last week while working in a timeshare with fellow Colts RB Zack Moss.
Oct 26, 2023
Still no activity at practice
Walker (calf) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker now has only one more opportunity to fit in some on-field work this week as he tends to a calf injury. As for the rest of Seattle's injured running backs, Zach Charbonnet (hamstring) returned to a full practice Thursday, and Kenny McIntosh (knee), who was designated for return from injured reserve Wednesday, also didn't have a cap on his reps. If Walker is limited or sidelined this weekend, Charbonnet likely would be the biggest beneficiary, with DeeJay Dallas and potentially McIntosh (if he's activated) also in the RB mix.

Dealing with calf issue
Walker didn't take part in Wednesday's practice due to a calf injury, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
The Seahawks backfield includes a trio of injuries during Week 8 prep, with Walker sitting out entirely to kick it off and Zach Charbonnet (hamstring) and Kenny McIntosh (knee), the latter of whom was designated for return from IR on Wednesday, logging limited sessions. Walker has handled the vast majority of the team's RB reps this season, logging at least a 60 percent snap share in five of six games and also cranking out 122 touches for 556 yards from scrimmage and six rushing TDs. He'll have two more chances to mix into drills this week before Seattle potentially tags him with a designation for Sunday's contest against the Browns.

Cracks century mark Sunday
Walker rushed 26 times for 105 yards while catching two of three targets for six yards in Sunday's 20-10 win over Arizona.
ANALYSIS
Walker averaged an even four yards per carry en route to his first 100-yard game of the season. The 26 carries were the bruising back's most through six games as the Seahawks leaned on the run game sans star wideout DK Metcalf (ribs/hip). Walker couldn't extend his touchdown streak to five games Sunday, but his status as a must-start fantasy option remains in tact heading into next Sunday's tilt against Cleveland.
Oct 15, 2023
Tallies 89 total yards
Walker rushed the ball 19 times for 62 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-13 loss to the Bengals. He added three receptions for 27 yards.
ANALYSIS
Walker had an excellent opening drive for Seattle, accounting for 34 total yards while also scoring a touchdown. He found running room more difficult to find after that, though his strong involvement as a receiver covered up some of his inefficiency on the ground. Walker has now found the end zone in four consecutive games and has six total touchdowns across five contests. He should find more room to roam in a Week 7 matchup against Arizona and will look to record his first 100-yard rushing game of the season.
Oct 2, 2023
Touchdown binge continues
Walker had 17 carries for 79 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 24-3 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Walker's short touchdown run in the second quarter extended his scoring streak to three weeks, providing fantasy managers with 289 combined yards and a whopping five touchdowns over that period. The 22-year-old was not targeted as a receiver against the Giants, but he commanded 17 of the Seahawk's 22 running back carries in the primetime win. Walker will get an opportunity to rest from his scoring frenzy on Seattle's upcoming bye week, resuming play in Week 6 against Cincinnati on Oct. 15
Sep 24, 2023
Scores two TDs against Carolina
Walker carried the ball 18 times for 97 yards and two touchdowns and caught all three of his targets for 59 yards in Sunday's 37-27 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Both TDs came in the second half as the Seahawks pulled away, with Walker getting into the end zone on a one-yard plunge in the third quarter and a seven-yard run in the fourth. His 59 receiving yards were also a career high, topping the 55 yards he hauled in last year in Week 10. Walker appears headed for another productive day in Week 4 against a Giants defense that's allowed four rushing touchdowns to running backs through its first three games.
Sep 17, 2023
Finds end zone twice in win
Walker rushed 17 times for 43 yards and two touchdowns and brought in one of two targets for 11 yards in the Seahawks' 37-31 overtime win over the Lions on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Walker encountered tough sledding on the ground against what definitely appears to be an improved Lions run defense, but he made up for it from a fantasy perspective by scoring one- and three-yard touchdowns. Walker has been the clear lead back in Seattle's ground attack over the first two games, and Sunday, he outpaced rookie Zach Charbonnet by 13 carries. Walker will next set his sights on the Panthers, who'll come into town for a Week 3 matchup.
Sep 10, 2023
Leads backfield in loss
Walker (groin) rushed 12 times for 64 yards and caught four passes (five targets) for three yards in Sunday's 30-13 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Walker dominated the backfield touches over DeeJay Dallas (two carries) and Zach Charbonnet (three carries) while garnering five of the six total targets doled out to running backs. Fantasy managers who drafted the oft-injured back should feel enthralled about the hefty workload after he dealt with a preseason groin injury. Walker could be primed for big numbers as Seattle's lead rusher so long as he stays off the injury report.
Sep 8, 2023
Cleared for Week 1 takeoff
Walker (groin) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Rams, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
There was some concern Thursday after the Seahawks added him to the injury report as a limited participant with a groin injury. Walker missed part of training camp with a groin issue, but that was in late July and early August before he came back in mid-August with no reports of setback/incident. He is expected to lead the Seattle rushing attack again, though he'll have to look over his shoulder after the team used a second-round pick on a running back for the second straight offseason, bringing in Zach Charbonnet to join Walker in the backfield.
Sep 7, 2023
Still dealing with groin injury
Walker was limited at Thursday's practice due to a groin injury, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker spent training camp tending to a minor groin strain, which kept him on the sidelines for the entire preseason slate. He eventually logged a full practice on Aug. 17 and even kicked off Week 1 prep with a similar session, but the injury clearly isn't behind him on the eve of the regular season. Thursday's limitations may have been a precautionary measure, but Walker's status on Friday's practice report will be one to watch out for to see if he enters the weekend as questionable.
Aug 30, 2023
Slated to start
Walker is listed as the starter on the Seahawks' initial depth chart.
ANALYSIS
Walker dealt with a groin injury to start training camp, but he shook it off after before the third preseason game. He didn't play at all during the preseason as a precaution. The second-year running back faced competition from rookie second-round pick Zach Charbonnet during training camp, but Walker appears to be the No. 1 back for now. That's not surprising considering he rushed for 1,050 yards and nine touchdowns on 228 carries (4.6 YPC) as a rookie. As long as he remains productive, Walker has the edge as the starting back.
Aug 17, 2023
Logs full practice Thursday
Coach Pete Carroll said Walker (groin) participated fully at Thursday's practice, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker has been dealing with a minor groin strain since the first day of training camp. After returning to practice this past Saturday, he was spotted working in individual and blocking drills Wednesday, but team drills weren't on the docket for him until Thursday, per Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle. It's unclear if the Seahawks will clear Walker to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Cowboys, but such a decision may not beome known until shortly before the 10:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Aug 16, 2023
Team drills still to come
Walker (groin) practiced Wednesday but didn't mix into any team drills, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker was in a helmet before practice and proceeded to take part in individual work and blocking drills, per Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. However, Walker has yet to be cleared for all activities since returning to practice Saturday. Given that coach Pete Carroll called Walker "week-to-week" when the running back initially suffered a minor groin strain in the first practice of training camp, the Seahawks likely will continue to take things slow with the second-year pro with an eye toward Week 1. In the meantime, rookie second-round pick Zach Charbonnet and DeeJay Dallas represent the top healthy RB options for Seattle.
Aug 12, 2023
Back at practice Saturday
Walker (groin) returned to practice Saturday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sidelined since the first day of Seahawks training camp due to a minor groin strain, Walker didn't suit up for the team's first preseason contest Thursday, which allowed rookie second-rounder Zach Charbonnet to get some run. Walker was contained to individual work Saturday, so he may need to progress to team drills in order to gain clearance to play in one of the final two exhibitions, the first of which comes Saturday, Aug. 19 against the Cowboys.
Aug 9, 2023
Back to running full speed
Coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that Walker (groin) has progressed to running at full speed in a straight line, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker has been sidelined since the first day of training camp due to a minor groin strain that left him week-to-week. While the Seahawks plan for the running back to move on to cutting in the next few days, he'll nonetheless be sidelined for Thursday's preseason opener versus the Vikings. With rookie seventh-rounder Kenny McIntosh also tending to a sprained knee at the moment, 2023 second-rounder Zach Charbonnet, DeeJay Dallas, Bryant Koback, SaRodorick Thompson and Wayne Taulapapa are the team's healthy and available RBs.
Aug 3, 2023
Not practicing yet
Walker (groin) is present at Thursday's practice but doesn't have a helmet, Bridget Condon of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker has been out for about a week now, which coach Pete Carroll using the term "week-to-week" to describe his status Monday. Meanwhile, fellow running back Zach Charbonnet (shoulder) is back in action sooner than expected after missing only three practices, giving him a nice opportunity to take more snaps with the starters while Walker remains limited to observing from the sideline.
Jul 31, 2023
Called week-to-week by coach
Coach Pete Carroll labeled Walker (groin) week-to-week Monday, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Carroll said the team is taking a cautious approach with Walker and fellow injured running back Zach Charbonnet (shoulder) to avoid exacerbating their injuries. While Seattle's top two running backs heal, DeeJay Dallas and Kenny McIntosh will have more prominent roles in practice. We may not see Walker in a game situation until Week 1 against the Rams on Sept. 10.
Jul 30, 2023
Dealing with minor groin strain
Coach Pete Carroll said Sunday that Walker has been held out of practice over the past few days due to a minor groin strain, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker missed a third consecutive day of practice Sunday, but his absence has been deemed precautionary, as Carroll said the team is holding the running back out to prevent a more significant injury. Although Carroll downplayed the severity of Walker's ailment Sunday, he indicated that he could be out a while. Carroll also said that Zach Charbonnet (shoulder) will be out indefinitely, so DeeJay Dallas and Kenny McIntosh will likely see increased work at camp in the near future. Walker's availability for Seattle's preseason opener against the Vikings on Aug. 10 remains to be seen.
Jul 30, 2023
Still not practicing
Walker didn't practice Sunday due to an undisclosed injury, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker has missed three straight days after participating in the Seahawks' first practice of training camp. Rookie Zach Charbonnet has also sat out back-to-back sessions with an undisclosed issue, so this is certainly a storyline worth following. Head coach Pete Carroll should provide a more concrete update following Sunday's practice, but if both running backs are forced to miss time, DeeJay Dallas, Kenny McIntosh, Bryant Koback and Wayne Taulapapa would all be candidates for increased work.

Challenged by Charbonnet
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Walker and rookie Zach Charbonnet "will be battling", Seattle Sports 770 reports. "We're gonna find out how far [Charbonnet] can take it in terms of the receiving part of it," Carroll said. "We know he's really good at it. But so is Kenneth, so those guys will be battling."
ANALYSIS
It isn't quite clear from Carroll's comment if he's referring to competing for playing time in general or specifically on passing downs. Charbonnet, an incoming second-round pick, caught 61 passes in two seasons at UCLA, whereas Walker (a 2022 second-rounder) had only 19 receptions in three seasons between Wake Forest and MSU. Walker did catch 27 balls as a rookie, though for only 165 yards (6.1 per catch, 4.7 YPT) while doing nearly all of his damage on the ground to the tune of a 228-1,050-9 rushing line. The impressive running makes him a strong favorite to keep the starting job and lead role, but there's no question a prospect of Charbonnet's caliber poses a threat to the size of Walker's workload. A split between the two could be problematic for fantasy managers, especially if the Seahawks settle on DeeJay Dallas or seventh-round rookie Kenny McIntosh as their third-down/hurry-up specialist ahead of Walker/Charbonnet.

Joined by Day 2 rookie
Walker will be joined in the backfield by 2023 second-round running back Zach Charbonnet, Gregg Bell of The News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
A second-round pick in 2022, Walker started the season injured and didn't take over as the starter until Rashaad Penny went down with a broken leg Week 5. Walker never looked back once being handed the reins, as he finished the regular season with 1,050 yards and nine touchdowns on 228 carries (4.6 YPC) and 27 catches (on 35 targets) for 165 yards. Notably, he posted 100-plus rushing yards in each of the final three games. Despite the dominant effort, it's not surprising that the Seahawks added to the backfield on Day 2. In fact, adding depth was necessary at some point during the draft. Head coach Pete Carroll's offense requires a heavy run game, and Walker frequented the injury report last year despite missing just two games. Charbonnet is an excellent prospect that should do well when he's on the field. However, Carroll will almost certainly make Walker the clear starter as long as he continues last year's effort.

Finds end zone against Niners
Walker carried the ball 15 times for 63 yards and a touchdown and caught his only target for three yards in Saturday's 41-23 wild-card loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Facing perhaps the best run defense in the league, Walker held his own and ran in a seven-yard score early in the second quarter for Seattle's first points of the day. The running back's playoff effort capped a rookie season that saw him compile 1,050 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground despite not taking over the starting role until Week 6. Walker should begin the 2023 campaign as the unquestioned No. 1 back for Seattle even if Rashaad Penny (ankle) gets re-signed.
Jan 12, 2023
Ready for wild-card round
Walker (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Saturday's wild-card game at San Francisco, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker avoided Seattle's first injury report of the week entirely Tuesday before showing up one day later as a non-participant due to the ankle injury that has lingered since early December. With his status cleared up ahead of the weekend, though, Wednesday's absence clearly was maintenance-based, likely to keep the rookie second-round pick as healthy as possible. Walker thus is set to lead the team's backfield Saturday, which has resulted in 98 touches for 450 yards from scrimmage and no TDs over the last four contests.
Jan 11, 2023
No practice Wednesday
Walker (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker wasn't listed on Tuesday's estimated injury report, so his absence one day later likely is maintenance-based due to the ankle issue that he's dealt with since early December. It remains to be seen if he'll be able to rid himself of a designation ahead of Saturday's wild-card game at San Francisco, which will be confirmed, one way or another, on Thursday's report. Since getting hurt Week 13 at the Rams, Walker sat out Week 14 but since then has reeled off 98 touches for 450 yards from scrimmage and no TDs over the last four contests.
Jan 8, 2023
Extensive workload in overtime win
Walker carried the ball 29 times for 114 yards in Sunday's 19-16 overtime win over the Rams. He added one catch for 10 yards.
ANALYSIS
Walker saw a career-high 29 rushing attempts, his third consecutive game with at least 20 carries. He wasn't particularly efficient -- he averaged 3.9 yards per carry -- though he did manage a couple long gains of 20 and 15 yards. Walker closed an impressive rookie campaign with 1,050 rushing yards, which is made even more notable due to the fact that he had only 58 yards through Week 4. The Seahawks await their postseason fate, but Walker will be a key to any potential playoff run for the team.
Jan 6, 2023
Cleared to play
Walker (ankle/illness) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Rams, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker topped 20 carries and 100 rushing yards while playing through the same ankle injury the past two weeks, and he'll be out there Sunday despite missing some practice time because of an illness. The Seahawks may ride their rookie hard again, as they need a win plus a Packers loss to qualify for the playoffs.
Jan 5, 2023
No practice yet this week
Walker (ankle/illness) was held out of Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
It's uncertain whether a lingering ankle concern, an illness or a combination of the two are keeping Walker sidelined this week, but he has yet to log any activity after two sessions. The same can be said for fellow running backs Travis Homer (ankle) and DeeJay Dallas (ankle), so the situation in the Seahawks backfield remains in flux with just one more chance to practice during Week 18 prep. Friday's injury report will unveil if any of the trio sidestep a designation ahead of Sunday's game versus the Rams. However, if Walker is able to suit up for the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, he's the likely candidate to handle the majority of RB reps after posting back-to-back 100-yard performances on the ground.
Jan 4, 2023
No practice Wednesday
Walker (ankle/illness) didn't practice Wednesday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
The Seahawks have been especially cautious with Walker since he sustained an ankle injury Week 13 at the Rams. He sat out Week 14 against the Panthers, but he's played in each of the last three games despite not logging many, if any, practice reps before those kickoffs. Overall, the rookie second-round pick has racked up 68 touches for 326 yards from scrimmage during that stretch, including back-to-back 100-yard efforts on the ground. Fellow running backs Travis Homer (ankle) and DeeJay Dallas (ankle) also sat out Wednesday's session, so the trio will be watched as the weekend approaches to see how Seattle's backfield may break down Sunday versus the Rams.
Jan 1, 2023
Runs all over Jets
Walker carried the ball 23 times for 133 yards and caught his only target for nine yards in Sunday's 23-6 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
The rookie running back posted his second straight 100-yard game and the second-biggest rushing total of his young career to help the Seahawks' playoff chances alive. Walker needs just 64 more rushing yards to reach 1,000 for the season heading into a Week 18 clash with a Rams defense that just got torched for 122 yards and two touchdowns by Austin Ekeler.
Jan 1, 2023
Playing Sunday
Walker (ankle) is listed as active Sunday versus the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Walker has been tending to an ankle injury for most of the last month, sitting out Week 14 against the Panthers but playing both of the last two games. During that span, he tallied 44 touches for 184 yards from scrimmage, so he should be good to handle his typical majority share of the backfield work for the Seahawks.
Dec 30, 2022
Expected to play
Coach Pete Carroll said Friday that Walker (ankle) is expected to play and should have "fresh legs" for Sunday's game against the Jets, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie officially is listed as questionable after not practicing Wednesday and being limited Thursday and Friday. It sounds like his availability won't actually come down to the 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff, though cautious fantasy managers may want to keep a distant eye on the situation anyway given some of the injury shenanigans that have come out of Seattle the past few years. Walker played through the same ankle injury last week and took 28 touches for 105 yards in a loss to the Chiefs after being listed as questionable on the final injury report.
Dec 30, 2022
Listed as questionable
Walker (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
ANALYSIS
Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune suggests Walker and WR Tyler Lockett (questionable, hand) both are likely to play with the Seahawks battling for a wild-card spot, though it is possible neither is at his best. Walker played through the same ankle injury last week and took 28 touches for 105 yards from scrimmage in a loss to the Chiefs, so he figures to give it another go ahead of Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday.
Dec 29, 2022
Limited practice Thursday
Walker (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker didn't practice last week due to a lingering ankle injury, but he was able to suit up for Saturday's eventual loss at Kansas City and turn 53 percent of the snaps into 105 yards from scrimmage on 28 touches. With an increase in activity Thursday from Wednesday's DNP, he appears to be getting healthier, while reserve running backs DeeJay Dallas (ankle) and Travis Homer (ankle) were limited and non-participants, respectively. If Walker again is able to handle the No. 1 role out of Seattle's backfield Sunday versus the Jets, Dallas seems like a better bet than Homer to earn the team's complementary reps at running back.
Dec 28, 2022
No practice Wednesday
Walker (ankle) was held out of Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker also didn't practice last week before suiting up Saturday in Kansas City and pacing the Seahawks backfield to the tune of 53 percent of snaps (40 of 76) and 28 touches for 105 yards from scrimmage. The rest of Seattle's running backs (DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer) combined for 36 plays and eight touches, so Walker clearly is the team's top option on the ground if he's available. Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune suggested the Seahawks are limiting Walker's on-field work during the week to ensure he can play on game days, but the rookie's status still will be one to watch closely to get a sense of his availability for Sunday's contest against the Jets.
Dec 24, 2022
Powers through pain for big day
Walker (ankle/back) rushed 26 times for 107 yards and lost two yards on two receptions in Saturday's 24-10 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
It was tough sledding early on for Walker after he managed just 10 yards on his first eight carries. Seattle stuck with the run despite playing from behind, resulting in the rookie's third 100-yard rushing game of the season. Head coach Pete Carroll noted that Walker jammed his ankle a couple of times over the course of the contest, but that his lead back was able to finish without issues, according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. Walker's fantasy managers appeared to have dodged a bullet, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the bruising back limited in practice again this week ahead of next Sunday's tilt against the Jets.
Dec 24, 2022
Suiting up Week 16
Walker (ankle/back) is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Though Walker sat out practices Tuesday through Thursday due to his pair of injuries and ended up taking a questionable tag into the weekend, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll indicated the running back would play Saturday. Carroll's prediction will ultimately come to pass after Walker avoided the inactive list, but it's unclear if the rookie will be limited to any degree while he's still banged up. After sitting out the Seahawks' Week 14 loss to the Panthers, Walker didn't have any major restrictions with his workload in the Week 15 loss to the 49ers, as he accounted for 79 yards on 16 touches (12 carries, four receptions) while taking on a 75 percent snap share.
Dec 24, 2022
Still on track to play Saturday
Walker (ankle/back), who is listed as questionable for Saturday's game at Kansas City after not practicing in any capacity this week, is still expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll told reporters as much Thursday, but it didn't stop Seattle from elevating two running backs (Godwin Igwebuike and Wayne Gallman) from the practice squad Friday. With Rapoport relaying that Walker is still on pace to play, however, it's possible that the addition of Gallman may have been in anticipation of an absence from DeeJay Dallas (ankle), who is also listed as questionable. Igwebuike, meanwhile, appears to have established himself as Seattle's top kickoff returner and might have been summoned from the practice squad even if both Walker and Dallas approached the weekend without designations. Regardless, fantasy managers planning on using Walker this week will still want to confirm that he isn't included on Seattle's inactive list, which will be released 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 22, 2022
On pace to play Saturday
Coach Pete Carroll said Thursday that Walker (ankle/back) is in line to play Saturday at Kansas City, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker didn't practice Tuesday through Thursday and is listed as questionable for Week 16 action. The Seahawks even tacked on a back issue to his existing ankle injury Thursday, which Carroll chalked up to "a little bit of a spasm," according to Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle. Still, though, the team is expected to have Walker's services Saturday, something that'll be confirmed approximately 90 minutes before a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Carroll also said DeeJay Dallas (ankle) is slated to return from a two-game absence this weekend, so Seattle likely will have all of Walker, Travis Homer and Dallas available to the backfield.
Dec 22, 2022
Status in question for Week 16
Walker (ankle/back) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game at Kansas City, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Seattle held Walker out of practice Tuesday and Wednesday, and he likely went down as a non-participant at the final session of Week 16 prep Thursday, per Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune. With game statuses now known for this weekend, Walker not only has the lingering ankle issue attached to his name, but a back injury as well. The rookie second-round pick's upcoming availability thus is up in the air, but managers who may be relying on Walker at least will be aware if he's active or not about 90 minutes before Saturday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Fellow running back DeeJay Dallas (ankle) also is questionable, leaving Travis Homer as the only healthy member of the backfield on the Seahawks' active roster.
Dec 22, 2022
Spectator for last Week 16 practice
Walker (ankle) wasn't spotted practicing with the Seahawks' other healthy players during the media-access portion of Thursday's session, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Later Thursday, the Seahawks will release their final Week 16 injury report, with Bell expecting that Walker will be listed as questionable for Saturday's game in Kansas City after going down as a non-participant Tuesday and Wednesday. While a lack of practice activity won't disqualify Walker from potentially suiting up this weekend, it's not an especially ideal scenario for fantasy managers who are weighing whether to include the rookie back in lineups for Week 16. In what's otherwise been a mostly promising first NFL season, Walker is averaging just 3.2 yards per carry while collecting 11 receptions across his last four appearances, missing one game along the way (Week 14 against the Panthers) due to the lingering ankle injury. Even if Walker is cleared ahead of Saturday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, he could be on a restricted snap count while he manages the ankle issue.
Dec 21, 2022
Remains DNP at practice
Walker (ankle) didn't take part in Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
While Walker was spotted on the practice field Wednesday, he didn't record any activity for a second straight day, which affords him just one more chance to log drills this week. Thursday's session and subsequent injury report will be key to determining whether he enters the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game at Kansas City. Fellow running back DeeJay Dallas (ankle) increased his activity from none Tuesday to some (LP) one day later, so he appears to be a step ahead of Walker. Notably, the Seahawks waived Tony Jones on Wednesday, so Travis Homer is the only healthy member of the backfield on the team's active roster.

Seen at practice Wednesday
Walker (ankle) is present at Wednesday's practice, but he didn't take part during the media-access portion of the session, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker officially kicked off Week 16 prep with an absence Tuesday, but it's unclear if he'll replicate that listing one day later. If he does, he'll be afforded just one more opportunity to mix into drills before the Seahawks likely tab him with a designation for Saturday's contest in Kansas City. With DeeJay Dallas (ankle) also a DNP on Tuesday, Travis Homer is the only healthy running back on Seattle's active roster after the team waived Tony Jones earlier Wednesday.
Dec 20, 2022
No practice Tuesday
Coach Pete Carroll said Walker (ankle) won't participate in Tuesday's practice, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker sat out Week 14 due to a right ankle injury, but he was able to play last Thursday against the 49ers after following an LP/FP/FP practice regimen. He ended up playing a typical 75 percent of snaps and notched 16 touches for 79 yards from scrimmage, but with the Seahawks embarking on Week 16 prep Tuesday, he'll kick it off with no activity. Carroll ominously said, "We'll see," when it comes to Walker this week, so his status will be one to watch as Saturday's game at Kansas City approaches.
Dec 16, 2022
Modest numbers in Week 15 loss
Walker rushed 12 times for 47 yards and brought in four of five targets for 32 yards in the Seahawks' 21-13 loss to the 49ers on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Walker actually managed to make some inroads against the league's best run defense, and his work in the passing game complemented his rushing production nicely. The rookie didn't seem to show any ill effects from the ankle injury that had cost him the Week 14 loss to the Panthers, and he'll now have extra time to get healthier before a critical Week 16 road showing versus the Chiefs a week from Saturday.
Dec 14, 2022
Removed from injury report
Walker (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game against San Francisco, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Less than an hour after coach Pete Carroll said Walker would be listed as questionable, the final injury report shows the running back with no game designation at all. He thus figures to step back in as the lead runner, though it'll be against a top defense and with some possibility he cedes more snaps to Travis Homer than he typically would. Fellow running back DeeJay Dallas (ankle) is listed as questionable and could also be an option to avoid putting too much of the load on Walker.
Dec 14, 2022
Will be listed as questionable
Walker (ankle) will be listed as questionable for Thursday's game against San Francisco, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker's return to full practice participation Tuesday seemingly puts him on track to play, with Bob noting that he thinks Walker will play. Coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that the rookie running back looked good in practice, but the team's decision to list him as questionable means fantasy managers should make sure Walker isn't listed among Seattle's inactives before the 8:20 ET kickoff Thursday night. Travis Homer played 91 percent of the offensive snaps in Sunday's 30-24 loss to Carolina, but he carried only nine times for 26 yards and caught two passes for eight yards.
Dec 13, 2022
Logs full practice
Walker (ankle) was listed as a full participant on Monday's practice estimate, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker improved from a limited trending estimate, so he is seemingly trending in the right direction after being a non-participant last week. Wednesday's final injury report wil provide more clarity for his status ahead of Thursday's matchup with the 49ers. Travis Homer and Tony Jones would again be in line for increased roles if he is ultimately unable to go.
Dec 12, 2022
Limited on estimated report
Walker (ankle) was listed as a limited participant on Monday's practice estimate, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker was unable to practice in any capacity last week after suffering what coach Pete Carroll termed a right calf strain that the running back sustained Week 13 at the Rams, which sidelined him Sunday versus the Panthers. While the Seahawks didn't hold a session Monday, Walker would have managed some on-field work if the team had done so, meaning he's made some noticeable progress in his recovery effort. He'll have two more chances this week to mix into drills before Seattle potentially makes a ruling on his availability for Thursday's game against the 49ers. As for DeeJay Dallas (ankle), who also sat out Sunday, he again was listed as a non-participant Monday, while the rest of the members of the backfield (Travis Homer, Tony Jones) avoided any listed limitations.
Dec 11, 2022
Officially out for Week 14
Walker (ankle) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
The Seahawks will be without both Walker and DeeJay Dallas (ankle) in their backfield for Week 14. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, the team is hopeful that Walker will be available for Thursday's game against the 49ers, but the rookie second-round pick first will need to take part in practice, which he was unable to do Wednesday through Friday due to his recovery from the right ankle strain he sustained last Sunday at the Rams. In Walker's place, some combination of Travis Homer, Tony Jones and Godwin Igwebuike will man running back for Seattle.
Dec 10, 2022
Unlikely to play Sunday
Walker (ankle) isn't in line to play Sunday against the Panthers, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker and DeeJay Dallas are the question marks in the Seahawks backfield for Week 14 action due to their respective ankle injuries, and both are trending toward DNPs on Sunday, per Fowler. Walker himself is dealing with a strain that stems from getting his right ankle jammed last Sunday at the Rams, which didn't allow him to practice Wednesday through Friday. Despite the likely upcoming inactive status, Seattle is hopeful that the rookie second-round pick will be available for Week 15 against the 49ers on Thursday. The team's running backs that are slated to be active Sunday are Travis Homer, Tony Jones and practice-squad call-up Godwin Igwebuike.
Dec 9, 2022
Labeled as game-time call
Head coach Pete Carroll said that Walker (ankle), who is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Panthers, is considered a game-day decision, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker and fellow running back DeeJay Dallas (ankle) were both labeled as game-day decisions after failing to practice in any capacity Wednesday through Friday. The lack of practice activity doesn't bode well for Walker's chances of playing against Carolina, but the Seahawks will presumably wait and see how he feels after an early workout Sunday before making a call on his status ahead of the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. With Dallas in a similar situation, the Seahawks are tentatively left with Travis Homer and Tony Jones as their healthy backs. If the Seahawks were to elevate one of the three running backs on their practice squad before Saturday's deadline for Week 14 roster moves, it would be an indication that at least one of Walker or Dallas isn't expected to play.
Dec 9, 2022
Deemed questionable for Week 14
Walker (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Along with Walker, reserve DeeJay Dallas (ankle) is also listed as questionable, after both running backs weren't able to practice Wednesday and Thursday. Seattle is tentatively left with Travis Homer and Tony Jones as the healthy running backs on the 53-man roster, though the team is presumably hopeful that at least one of Walker or Dallas will be able to play through their respective injuries. Even if Walker avoids the inactive list ahead of Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, he's no lock to take on his normal high-volume role out of the Seattle backfield. Before exiting early in last week's win over the Rams, Walker had played north of 71 percent of the snaps on offense in each of his prior six appearances while averaging 18.7 carries and three targets per contest.
Dec 8, 2022
No practice Thursday
Walker (ankle) didn't practice Thursday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker has yet to take part in drills this week as he deals with a right ankle strain, which was the result of getting his right ankle jammed this past Sunday at the Rams. Meanwhile, fellow running back DeeJay Dallas (ankle) also has logged back-to-back DNPs, and Travis Homer (knee) got back to a full practice Thursday. Considering this last point, Homer seems to be the best bet of the trio to be available Sunday against the Panthers, with Friday's injury report potentially including a ruling on Walker's chances of playing in Week 14.
Dec 7, 2022
Not practicing Wednesday
Coach Pete Carroll said Walker (ankle) won't take part in practice Wednesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The same can be said for DeeJay Dallas (ankle), while Travis Homer (knee) and Tony Jones are slated to practice to kick off Week 14 prep. Walker himself is tending to an ankle strain that stems from jamming his right ankle this past Sunday at the Rams, which sidelined him beyond the midpoint of the second quarter. The Seahawks backfield is in flux ahead of Sunday's contest against the Panthers, but there's a chance some of the team's three practice-squad members (Darwin Thompson, Godwin Igwebuike and/or Wayne Gallman) are elevated and decent parts of the game plan this weekend.
Dec 5, 2022
Not ruled out for Week 14
Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Walker (ankle) has strain and could be available for Sunday's game against the Panthers, though the team can't confirm his status yet, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Carroll called Walker's injury "unusual," but it's a good sign that the rookie running back hasn't been ruled out for Week 14 already. Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports that the Seahawks have already received results from Monday's MRI, so it appears that further information on Walker's status could rely on what he's able to do in practices this week. Meanwhile, Travis Homer is nursing a sprained knee while DeeJay Dallas suffered "somewhat of a high ankle issue," per Boyle, but was able to finish Week 13's win over the Rams.
Dec 5, 2022
Getting ankle checked
Walker is scheduled to undergo tests Monday to evaluate what Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has termed as a "jammed" right ankle, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker exited in the first half of Sunday's 27-23 win over the Rams with the ankle injury, finishing the day with three carries for 36 yards across 14 snaps. According to Rapoport, Walker's injury is different from a sprain because the joint of his ankle jammed down, but the Seahawks are still trying to determine the severity of the issue. Walker's upcoming tests should shed more light on his availability for the Seahawks' Week 14 game against the Panthers.
Dec 4, 2022
Not returning Sunday
Walker (ankle) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's contest at the Rams, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker was examined in the middle of the second quarter and eventually was deemed to have a right ankle injury, which won't allow him to log any more Week 13 action. Prior to his exit, he had three carries for 36 yards and didn't haul in his only target. With Travis Homer (illness) inactive and Rashaad Penny (ankle/fibula) on injured reserve, the Seahawks backfield has been whittled down to DeeJay Dallas and Tony Jones.
Dec 4, 2022
Sustains ankle injury Sunday
Walker departed Sunday's game at the Rams due to an ankle injury.
ANALYSIS
After a Seahawks possession in the second quarter, Walker was seen getting examined by team personnel and later remained on the sideline with his right leg propped up on the bench. It's unclear if he has a chance to return, but as long as the rookie second-round pick is out, this backfield will be the domain of DeeJay Dallas and perhaps Tony Jones with Travis Homer (illness) inactive and Rashaad Penny (ankle/fibula) out for the season.
Nov 27, 2022
Finds end zone twice against Vegas
Walker carried the ball 14 times for 26 yards and two touchdowns while catching his only target for 13 yards in Sunday's 40-34 overtime loss to the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
For the second straight game Walker was largely held in check, and 12 of his runs netted him a total of zero yards. Fortunately, the other two resulted in a 12-yard TD in the first quarter and a 14-yard score in the third. Seattle's rookie RB will look to gain some real yards again in Week 13 against a Rams defense that just had trouble containing fellow first-year back Isiah Pacheco.
Nov 13, 2022
Work as pass catcher saves day
Walker rushed the ball 10 times for 17 yards in Sunday's 21-16 loss to the Buccaneers. He added six receptions on eight targets for 55 yards.
ANALYSIS
Walker was bottled up as a rusher and the Seahawks were forced to abandon the run due to game script, which resulted in his lowest rushing yard total since taking over as the starter. However, he became a significant part of Seattle's passing attack in the second half -- both on designed plays and as a checkdown option -- to turn in his most prolific day as a receiver. It's also notable that no other running back on the roster recorded either or rushing attempt or a target, so Walker has a clear path to plenty of volume moving forward.
Nov 6, 2022
Scores twice against Cards
Walker carried the ball 26 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-21 win over the Cardinals. He also caught three of four targets for 20 yards.
ANALYSIS
Both scores came in the fourth quarter, as Walker put the game out of Arizona's reach. Walker has gotten into the end zone in five straight games, scoring seven TDs in total over that stretch while amassing 512 rushing yards. The rookie should be one of the focal points of the Seattle offense again in a Week 10 clash with the Buccaneers in Germany.
Oct 31, 2022
Gets into end zone in win
Walker carried the ball 18 times for 51 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-13 win over the Giants. He also caught one of two targets for one yard.
ANALYSIS
The rookie running back was headed for a disappointing performance until he iced the game with a 16-yard TD run late in the fourth quarter. Walker has gotten into the end zone in four straight games, amassing 403 rushing yards and five TDs during that stretch, and he stands a good chance of extending that streak to five games in Week 9 against a Cardinals defense he gashed for 97 yards and a score in their first meeting.
Oct 23, 2022
Erupts against Chargers
Walker carried the ball 23 times for 168 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 37-23 win over the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
While he didn't see any action as a receiver, Walker didn't need to supplement his production on the ground. If there was a downside to his performance it's that he was tackled in the end zone for a safety early in the fourth quarter as Los Angeles looked to spark a comeback, but the rookie running back atoned with a 74-yard TD run about seven minutes later, putting the game out of reach. It was Walker's first career 100-yard game and first multi-TD effort, but it likely won't be his last in either category as the top back in a Pete Carroll offense. Walker will look to put together another big day in Week 8 against a Giants defense that just got gashed for 114 yards and a TD by the Jaguars' Travis Etienne.
Oct 16, 2022
Dominates work, looks good
Walker carried the ball 21 times for 97 yards in Sunday's 19-9 win over Arizona. He added two receptions for 13 yards.
ANALYSIS
Walker dominated carries out of Seattle's backfield as expected in the first week without Rashaad Penny (ankle), accounting for 21 of the team's 30 rushing attempts. He displayed some big-play ability by ripping off gains of 34, 21 and 17 yards, and he also recorded an 11-yard rushing score. While Walker isn't known for his receiving ability, it was encouraging to see him involved in the passing game -- even at a minimal level. Walker should carry a heavy workload once again in Week 7 against the Chargers.
Oct 10, 2022
Set for starting gig
Walker is primed to step into Seattle's primary running back role with Rashaad Penny (lower leg) done for the season, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker will get a chance to lead the Seahawks' backfield with Penny set for season-ending surgery to address a broken fibula. The rookie second-round pick had eight carries for 88 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 39-32 loss to the Saints, highlighted by a 69-yard breakaway score, but he's still yet to log double-digit attempts in a single game. There's a good chance that changes Week 6 versus the Cardinals, as DeeJay Dallas is currently the only healthy running back on Seattle's roster, though Travis Homer (ribs) could return from IR later this month. The team will likely add more backfield depth in the coming days, but Walker projects to inherit a lead role in Penny's absence.
Oct 9, 2022
Expanded role likely
Walker carried eight times for 88 yards and a TD in Sunday's 39-32 loss to the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Walker made his mark Sunday with a 69-yard TD run in the fourth quarter, but with fellow RB Rashaad Penny having suffered what coach Pete Carroll described as a "serious" ankle injury per Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune, it looks like the 2022 second-rounder is poised to see an expanded role in Seattle's offense, beginning next Sunday against the Cardinals. Look for more context regarding Penny's injury to surface no later than Monday, but it looks like the team could be turning Walker in the coming weeks to lead a backfield that also includes DeeJay Dallas, with Travis Homer (ribs) currently on IR.
Oct 9, 2022
Set to play Week 5
Walker (shoulder) is active Week 5 against the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Walker was limited in practice by a shoulder injury on consecutive days this week, but it won't stop him from suiting up Sunday. Last week, Walker barely saw a third of the snaps, playing second fiddle to Rashaad Penny -- a role that translated to just eight carries for 29 yards. It's unclear if the rookie will carve out a greater piece of the pie against a tough Saints run defense, especially given the recent injury.
Oct 7, 2022
Status up in air for Sunday
Walker (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in New Orleans, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker made a sudden appearance on the Seahawks' injury report Thursday as limited due to a shoulder issue, which now is making his status for Week 5 murky. Fortunately for fantasy managers, his availability, or lack thereof, will become known about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Even if he's able to suit up this weekend, though, the rookie second-round pick will be working behind top running back Rashaad Penny, which so far has amounted to 4.3 touches for 18 yards from scrimmage per game and no TDs in four contests.
Oct 6, 2022
Dealing with shoulder issue
Walker was limited at Thursday's practice by a shoulder injury, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker avoided the injury report entirely to kick off Week 5 prep, so his midweek addition is somewhat concerning. He'll aim to bump back up to all activity at Friday's session, after which the Seahawks may provide some clarity regarding his availability for Sunday's contest at New Orleans. Even if he ends up being available this weekend, though, Walker will play second fiddle in Seattle's backfield to Rashaad Penny (shoulder), who followed up a DNP on Wednesday with a full practice Thursday.
Oct 3, 2022
Totals 24 yards
Walker rushed eight times for 29 yards and caught his lone target for a five-yard loss in Sunday's 48-45 win over the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Walker was on the field for 25 offensive snaps (36 percent), but he wasn't effective on the ground or in the passing game. Meanwhile, veteran running back Rashaad Penny stole the show, as he rushed 17 times for 151 yards and two touchdowns. Penny is playing like he did toward the end of last season, so Walker likely won't have a consistent offensive role for the time being.
Sep 26, 2022
Puts up 33 total yards
Walker rushed three times for 19 yards and caught all three of his targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 27-23 loss to the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Walker played just nine offensive snaps, but it's encouraging that he got the ball on six of those plays. The rookie second-round pick had a 21-yard tout in the third quarter but didn't gain any ground on his other two carries. He was also effective as a checkdown option for quarterback Geno Smith. However, Rashaad Penny -- who played 69 percent of the snaps -- is still the clear No. 1 back, so fantasy managers need to exercise patience with Walker.
Sep 18, 2022
Quiet debut in Sunday's loss
Walker gained 10 yards on four carries and caught two of three targets for five yards in Sunday's 27-7 loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Making his debut for Seattle after missing Week 1 while completing his recovery from a hernia procedure in August, the second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft struggled along with the rest of the team's offense, and the Seahawks' only points on the day came on a blocked field goal that got returned to the end zone by Mike Jackson. More encouragingly, Walker tied Rashaad Penny in touches with six, and the rookie could find himself in a backfield timeshare now that he's healthy -- albeit a timeshare in an offense that has looked far from dangerous so far. Up next in Week 3 is a Falcons defense that has yet to allow a RB to reach 50 rushing yards against them.
Sep 16, 2022
Cleared for NFL debut
Walker (hernia) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in San Francisco, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
While he won't necessarily have a key role from the jump, Walker has been cleared to play. He should poach some carries from Rashaad Penny sooner or later, and the veteran's injury history means Walker has a good chance to serve as the lead runner at some point during his rookie season. The second-round pick starts off with a challenge, facing San Francisco's menacing front seven on the road.
Sep 15, 2022
Falls back to limited practice
Walker (hernia) was limited at Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
During Week 1 prep, Walker was held out of practice entirely as he continued his recovery from a mid-August hernia procedure. This week, he kicked it off with a full session Wednesday, only to downgrade slightly one day later. The development may have been maintenance-related to ensure Walker gets to the weekend ready for his pro debut. Still, his activity level and eventual designation, or lack thereof, on Friday's injury report will provide insight into whether or not active status is possible Sunday at San Francisco. If Walker is available this weekend, the rookie second-round pick could be eased into action, especially with Rashaad Penny entrenched at the top of the depth chart.
Sep 14, 2022
Logs full practice Wednesday
Walker (hernia) practiced in full Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker didn't practice at all before being one of the Seahawks' inactives Monday against the Broncos, the result of his continued recovery from a hernia procedure performed in mid-August. Coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday that the team expected Walker to be available Week 2, before telling Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic that the rookie running back was slated to practice Wednesday. The 2022 second-round pick did just that and more, handling every rep in the first session of the week. Walker thus is on track to serve as a complement to Seattle's No. 1 RB Rashaad Penny on Sunday at San Francisco.
Sep 14, 2022
Scheduled to practice
Walker (abdomen) is expected to practice Wednesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Pete Carroll said he expects Walker to return for Week 2 against the 49ers, though Carroll did note Wednesday that the Seahawks are relying on the rookie to let them know how he feels in practice, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports. Either way, Rashaad Penny likely will be the lead back again, though Walker could take chunk out of the rushing workload if he's truly ready this Sunday. Carroll's history of unrealistic optimism about injuries does leave some doubt as to Walker's availability -- doubt that could largely be removed by a full practice showing by the end of the week.
Sep 13, 2022
Expected back Week 2
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday that he plans on having Walker (core) available for Sunday's game at San Francisco, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. "Kenny Walker is going to be out there this week for us to add to [the offense]," Carroll said.
ANALYSIS
The second-round rookie out of Michigan State was inactive for Monday's 17-16 win over the Broncos after requiring a hernia procedure in mid-August, but Walker seems to have at least taken a step forward in his recovery in recent days. Since Walker didn't log any practice activity Week 1, he'll presumably need to get in at least one full session by Friday to make good on Carroll's prediction that the running back will suit up Sunday. Given the time that he missed during the preseason, Walker may have to settle for a small role in the Seattle backfield initially, as Rashaad Penny should be entrenched as the Seahawks' top option on the ground while healthy.
Sep 12, 2022
NFL debut delayed
Walker (hernia) is listed as inactive Monday against the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
A 2022 second-round pick, Walker unsurprisingly won't suit up in the Seahawks' season opener due to the hernia procedure that he underwent in mid-August and didn't allow him to practice during Week 1 prep. With Walker on the sideline, the team will ride Rashaad Penny out of the backfield, while Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas are on hand for any RB reps that linger.
Sep 10, 2022
Questionable for Week 1
Walker (hernia) is listed as questionable for Monday night's season opener against the Broncos, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2022 second-rounder was listed as a non-participant in practice both Thursday and Friday, but at this stage he's not ruled out for Monday night's 8:15 ET kickoff. Given the timing of Seattle's opening contest, Walker currently profiles as a risky Week 1 fantasy lineup option. If he's out or limited Monday, the team would turn to Travis Homer and/or DeeJay Dallas for complementary RB snaps behind starter Rashaad Penny.
Sep 9, 2022
Iffy for opener
With Walker (hernia) having been listed as a non-participant on Friday's practice estimate, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune suggests that the signs point to the running back missing Monday night's season opener against the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Saturday's injury report should add clarity to the 2022 second-rounder's Week 1 status, but if Walker is unavailable Monday, Travis Homer and/or DeeJay Dallas would be in line to handle complementary work behind starter Rashaad Penny.
Sep 9, 2022
Listed as DNP on practice estimate
Walker (abdomen) is listed as a non-participant on Friday's practice estimate, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
The Seahawks didn't practice Friday but still have to put out an injury report. While he hasn't been ruled out, Walker seems unlikely to play in Monday's game after undergoing a hernia procedure in mid-August. Coach Pete Carroll said he thought Walker would get some practice reps Thursday, but the rookie didn't end up participating. The Seahawks will turn to Travis Homer and/or DeeJay Dallas for support behind starter Rashaad Penny if Walker isn't able to play Week 1.
Sep 8, 2022
No practice Thursday
Walker (hernia) officially didn't practice Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Earlier Thursday, coach Pete Carroll told Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle that Walker took part in Thursday's walkthrough and was slated to get some reps in practice. However, that didn't come to pass. During the portion of the session open to the media Thursday, the rookie second-round pick wasn't wearing a helmet, per Brady Henderson of ESPN.com, and he eventually went down as a DNP. Walker sat out the Seahawks' last two preseason games after undergoing a hernia procedure, and it appears he requires additional time to recover fully. If he's unable to suit up Monday against the Broncos, Rashaad Penny will lead Seattle's backfield, with Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas in reserve.
Sep 8, 2022
Set for some work Thursday
Coach Pete Carroll said Walker (hernia) will get some reps on the practice field Thursday, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker missed the Seahawks' final two preseason games due to a hernia procedure that he underwent in mid-August. As of Monday, Carroll was uncertain whether Walker would be ready for a season-opening matchup with the Broncos, but the rookie second-round pick looked good while running Wednesday and took part in the team's walkthrough Thursday. It's unclear if Walker will be contained to work on the side or be able to mix into individual and/or team drills, but his activity level will become known once Seattle posts its first Week 1 injury report.
Sep 5, 2022
Status for Week 1 remains uncertain
Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that he isn't sure whether Walker (abdomen) will play during Seattle's Week 1 matchup against the Broncos on Sept. 12, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Carroll said that Walker "worked some" by doing running and catching during Monday's practice, but the rookie's availability to begin the regular season remains up in the air due to his ongoing recovery from a hernia procedure. If Walker is ultimately unavailable for the Seahawks' season opener, Rashaad Penny would serve as the team's clear lead back, while Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas would likely compete for touches in reserve roles.
Aug 30, 2022
Still no timetable for return
Coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday that Walker's status for a Week 1 game against the Broncos is in question due to his ongoing recovery from a hernia procedure, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Meanwhile, the Seahawks' top running back Rashaad Penny returned to the team Tuesday after a brief bout with COVID-19, per Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle. Carroll's comments effectively were non-update on Walker, who has been sidelined since mid-August due to the aforementioned surgery. With no set timeline yet to be announced, the rookie second-rounder appears to be in limbo until he gains medical clearance.
Aug 21, 2022
No clear timeline for return
Coach Pete Carroll said Sunday that the team has yet to develop a return timetable for Walker (abdomen), who is recovering from a procedure to repair a hernia, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
"It's just a matter of time," Carroll said of Walker's recovery. "We don't have a designated return sequence yet, we've got to see how he responds." The rookie second-round pick is targeting a return to activity prior to Seattle's Sept. 12 season opener against the Broncos, but it's not yet clear whether that's a realistic goal for Walker.
Aug 17, 2022
Targets Week 1 return
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relays that Walker's reported procedure is to repair a hernia and that the running back is targeting a return to action in time for Week 1.
ANALYSIS
Per Rapoport, Walker wasn't dealing with what is sometimes called a "sports hernia" or core muscle injury, but either way it appears as though the 2022 second-rounder has a chance to avoid missing regular season action. Once he's back to full strength, Walker will look to resume his quest to carve out a key early-season role in Seattle's backfield alongside Rashaad Penny.
Aug 17, 2022
Undergoing a procedure
Coach Pete Carroll relayed Wednesday that Walker is having "a procedure" that is not related to a sports hernia, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
ANALYSIS
Carroll previously suggested that Walker was a dealing with a minor hernia issue, but evidently there's another issue in play. Per Brady Henderson of ESPN.com, Carroll did note that the 2022 second-rounder doesn't have a core muscle injury but didn't specify what Walker is dealing with. In any case, the running back is slated to miss some time, but the hope is that Walker will be back in action by Week 1.

Dealing with 'hernia issue'
Coach Pete Carroll said Walker didn't practice Tuesday due to "a little hernia issue," Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.
ANALYSIS
On the same day that Rashaad Penny (groin) got back on the practice field, Walker wasn't present for drills, per Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. Carroll didn't provide much more information about the reason for Walker's absence, but it may impact his availability for Thursday's preseason game versus the Bears. If Walker is unable to suit up, Penny, Travis Homer, DeeJay Dallas, Darwin Thompson and Josh Johnson would compose the Seahawks backfield.

Logs six touches Saturday
Walker rushed five times for 19 yards while securing his lone target for 11 yards during the Seahawks' 32-25 preseason loss to the Steelers on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Walker served as a starter during Saturday's preseason opener since Rashaad Penny (groin) was kept off the field. Although Walker didn't reach the end zone, he was involved in the Seahawks' offense over the first few drives of the game. The 2022 second-round pick has drawn plenty of praise from coach Pete Carroll over the first few weeks of training camp, particularly for his abilities in the passing game. While Penny is a strong candidate to start if he's healthy once the regular season begins, Walker should also be in the mix for touches, especially if he continues to develop as a receiver and pass blocker.

Expected to start Saturday
Walker is expected to start Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Rashaad Penny is dealing with a slight groin injury and will likely sit out Saturday's game, though he wasn't expected to play much even if he was healthy. Head coach Pete Carroll spent time Thursday raving about the rookie's abilities in the passing game, specifically as a pass blocker, which was a major question mark coming out of college. Walker will get a chance to prove himself in his first NFL action Saturday, and if he shows the necessary improvements in the passing game, he could have a chance to get on the field often when the games start to count. However, Penny's finish to the 2021 season should lock him in as the No. 1 back as long as he's healthy.

Signs rookie deal
The Seahawks have signed Walker, the John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The same applies to fellow 2022 second-round pick Boye Mafe and fourth-rounder Coby Bryant, meaning that Seattle's entire nine-player draft class is under contract with the team. With Chris Carson planing to retire from the NFL as a player because of a neck injury, Rashaad Penny and Walker top the Seahawks' running back depth chart, with Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic, noting that the duo are in line to work as the team's primary early-down options, while DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer share third-down duties. Though Walker has plenty of long-term upside, it may take him some time to become a steady fantasy producer, with ESPN's Brady Henderson indicating that Penny (who led the NFL in rushing over the final five weeks of last season) projects as Seattle's primary running back out of the gate this coming season.

Likely vying for No. 2 duties
Walker (hamstring) is expected to compete for the Seahawks' No. 2 running back role in 2022, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Walker missed part of mandatory minicamp with a hamstring injury but should be ready when training camp starts in late July. However, he may be boxed out from the starting role because of Rashaad Penny's dominance down the stretch last season. Walker won the Doak Walker Award -- college football's best running back -- last season after he ran for 1,636 yards and 18 touchdowns over 12 games with Michigan State, and the Seahawks selected him in the second round (41st overall) of April's draft. While that pedigree projects well for Walker in the long term and for dynasty purposes, he has enough question marks as a pass catcher and pass blocker to cast doubt unto his ability to operate in a third-down role right away. Thus, it wouldn't be surprising if he ran behind Travis Homer or DeeJay Dallas to begin the year until he can refine his skills.

Dealing with hamstring injury
Head coach Pete Carroll said Thursday that Walker missed part of mandatory minicamp with a hamstring injury, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Fellow running back Rashaad Penny missed time in OTAs with a hamstring injury, though the team was simply taking a cautious approach and he was back on the field quickly. The Seahawks finished their mandatory minicamp Thursday but will reconvene Tuesday for their last three days of the offseason program. If Walker is still missing from the field, it could signal a more serious injury. Regardless, Walker should have plenty of time to recover before training camp starts in late July. The rookie second-round pick will compete with Rashaad Penny and possibly Chris Carson (neck) for a chance at the starting role.

Seattle swoops in
The Seahawks selected Walker in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 41st overall.
ANALYSIS
Walker becomes the second running back off the board in the draft and joins a crowded running back room in Seattle. He began his career at Wake Forest and ran well there with 17 touchdowns in two seasons, but it was at Michigan State in 2021 that he truly broke out. Walker won the Doak Walker Award on the strength of a 1,636-yard, 18-touchdown season with the Spartans. He has a dense build at 5-foot-9 and 202 pounds with 4.38 speed, so the big runs he put on display in college can be replicated at the next level. There are questions about his pass-catching ability, as he brought in 19 of 30 targets for 136 yards in three seasons. While Walker is certainly talented, the landing spot complicates his fantasy outlook for 2022.
