Enters concussion protocol
Martin has entered the league's concussion protocol and has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Browns, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
ANALYSIS
The 49ers are on a bye in Week 14, so Martin will have additional time to progress through and clear the league's concussion protocol before San Francisco's Week 15 clash against Tennessee on Sunday, Dec. 14. The rookie third-rounder has contributed mostly on special teams, but his absence further depletes a 49ers linebacker corps that is without Tatum Bethune (ankle) and Fred Warner (ankle - IR).

Being evaluated for concussion
Martin has exited the game and is being evaluated for a concussion, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Martin will be analyzed by one of the league's independent neurologists to determine if he can return to the game. Before the linebacker's early exit, he logged one solo tackle.

Niners draft undersized linebacker
The 49ers selected Martin in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 75th overall.
ANALYSIS
Martin was a highly productive starter during his third and fourth seasons at Oklahoma State, but at just 6-feet tall and 221 pounds Martin simply does not look like a linebacker. Martin does have the wheels to run like a safety (4.53-second 40-yard dash, 38-inch vertical jump), but it's not clear whether his skill set would translate there. Meanwhile, it's not clear if his lack of size will allow Martin to stick at linebacker in the NFL. If Martin can prove an exception to the rule then his skill set should shine through otherwise, because he was a big-time linebacker for Oklahoma State the last two years.
