Ruled out for Week 13
Brown (groin/knee) has been ruled out for Sunday night's game against the Broncos, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown had his 21-day practice window opened this week but will remain on injured reserve at least through Week 13. With Terry McLaurin due back from his quadriceps injury, he'll join Deebo Samuel, Treylon Burks (finger), Jaylin Lane (hip) and Chris Moore as options at wide receiver for Washington against Denver.
Nov 27, 2025
Full listing Thursday
Brown (groin/knee) was listed as full on Thursday's injury report.
ANALYSIS
One day removed from being limited after his practice window opened earlier this week, Brown already is back to all listed activity, but it remains to be seen if the Commanders will activate him from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos. Such a transaction will need to occur by Saturday afternoon, assuming the team doesn't rule him out on Friday's practice report.
Nov 26, 2025
Limited in return to practice
Brown (groin/knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The Commanders opened Brown's 21-day window to practice while still being on injured reserve. It's unclear at this point if he has a chance to play Sunday against the Broncos. If so, he could be the No. 2 or 3 wide receiver, depending on the health of Terry McLaurin (quad). Brown hasn't played since Week 2.
Nov 24, 2025
Practice window opens
The Commanders announced Monday that Brown (groin/knee) has been designated to return to practice from IR.
ANALYSIS
Brown hasn't played since Week 2 due to groin and knee injuries, though Washington didn't actually place him on IR until mid-October. Once fully healthy, Brown will have an opportunity to reclaim his role as the No. 3 receiver behind Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Deebo Samuel, though it's worth noting the former hasn't suited up since Week 8 himself. If Brown is able to hit the ground running at practice, it's possible he could be fully cleared in time to suit up Sunday versus the Broncos, a contest that will feature Marcus Mariota under center if Jayden Daniels (elbow) remains sidelined.
Oct 15, 2025
Lands on IR
The Commanders placed Brown (groin/knee) on injured reserve Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Brown has already missed four consecutive games due to a pair of injuries, and being placed on IR will now force him to sit out at least another four contest. That makes Brown's earliest possible return date Sunday, Nov. 11 versus the Dolphins in Week 11. Brown's absence will be especially notable for Washington if Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) remains sidelined for the team's Week 7 matchup against the Cowboys on Sunday.
Oct 11, 2025
Ruled out for Week 6
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Saturday that Brown (groin/knee) is ruled out for Monday's matchup against the Bears, Tashan Reed of The Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown will miss a fourth consecutive game due to lingering groin and knee injuries, despite having returned to practice as a limited participant to begin Week 6. Both he and Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) will be unavailable versus Chicago on Monday, making Washington's road matchup against the Cowboys on Sunday, Oct. 19 in Week 7 their next opportunity to retake the field. With Brown and McLaurin ruled out and Deebo Samuel (heel) having played through an injury last week, depth wideouts Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane and Chris Moore will be tasked with stepping up versus the Bears.
Oct 10, 2025
Listed as limited
Brown (groin) is listed as a limited participant on Friday's practice estimate.
ANALYSIS
Brown returned to practice Wednesday after missing the past three games. He was listed as a limited participant Thursday, and he'll have another chance to practice Saturday before the Commanders make a decision on his availability for Monday's game against the Bears. Brown may start if he's active, as Terry McLaurin (quad) still hasn't returned to practice.
Oct 9, 2025
Limited in practice Thursday
Brown (groin/knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Dan Quinn clarified that Brown's absence, which dates back to Week 2 against the Packers, has been related primarily to his groin injury rather than the knee injury that bothered Brown during camp, per John Keim of ESPN.com. Brown seems to be a step ahead in his recovery compared to Terry McLaurin (quadriceps), who was listed as a non-participant Thursday. Both receivers are hoping to return from multi-week absences Monday against the Bears.
Oct 8, 2025
Back at practice
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Wednesday that Brown (groin/knee) will participate in practice, Tashan Reed of The Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown will resume practicing Wednesday but Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) will not, per Quinn. A pair of injuries has kept Brown sidelined for three consecutive games, but he appears to be trending in the right direction for Monday's home matchup against the Bears. When active for Washington's first two games of the season, Brown handled just under 50 percent of offensive snaps and tallied a combined three catches for 36 yards on seven targets.
Oct 2, 2025
Out for Week 5
Brown (groin/knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
After his pair of injuries kept him from practicing Wednesday and Thursday, Brown won't travel to Los Angeles this weekend and will wind up missing his third straight game. Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) has also been ruled out for a second consecutive contest, leaving Washington with Deebo Samuel (heel) -- who has yet to practice this week but made the trip to L.A. -- Luke McCaffrey, Chris Moore and Jaylin Lane as its remaining options at receiver. Tay Martin is also a candidate to be elevated from the practice squad to provide the position group with another healthy body.
Oct 1, 2025
Still not practicing
Brown (groin/knee) missed Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Brown hasn't practiced since sustaining a groin injury during a Week 2 loss at Green Bay, but he was spotted on the side working with a strength coach Wednesday, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. With Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Deebo Samuel (heel) also not practicing Wednesday, the Commanders' receiving corps is in flux in advance of Sunday's game at the Chargers.
Sep 26, 2025
Ruled out again
Brown (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Atlanta, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
With Brown missing a second straight game and Terry McLaurin (quad) now unavailable, the Commanders are left with Deebo Samuel, Jaylin Lane, Luke McCaffrey and Chris Moore as the healthy wide receivers on their active roster.
Sep 25, 2025
Remains out of practice
Brown (groin) was not spotted at Thursday's practice, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown hasn't practiced since he was injured 14 days ago in the Commanders' Week 2 game against the Packers. If Brown and Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) are unable to go Sunday against the Falcons, Deebo Samuel, Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane and Chris Moore will handle wideout duties for Washington.
Sep 24, 2025
Absent from practice
Brown (groin/knee) is not practicing Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Brown sat out Week 3, and he hasn't practiced in any capacity since having been forced out early versus the Packers on Thursday Night Football in Week 2. If Brown is unable to gain clearance in time for Sunday's matchup against the Falcons, Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane and Chris Moore will all be candidates for expanded offensive opportunities, especially with Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) also dealing with an injury.
Sep 19, 2025
Ruled out for Sunday
Brown (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Las Vegas, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown hasn't practiced since making an early exit from last Thursday's loss to the Packers. His absence leaves Jaylin Lane as the probable No. 3 receiver, although Luke McCaffrey could also help fill the void.
Sep 18, 2025
Remains sidelined Thursday
Brown (groin) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Brown suffered the groin injury last Thursday night against the Packers and has yet to practice since, putting his status in serious question for Week 3 against the Raiders. If Brown can't play against Las Vegas, Jaylin Lane, Luke McCaffrey and Chris Moore would be next up for snaps behind Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel.
Sep 17, 2025
Progressing, but won't practice
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Brown (groin) will not practice Wednesday, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown was ruled out due to a groin injury early during last Thursday's loss to the Packers, but per Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site, Quinn said he's now "more encouraged than I was Monday," when he called the No. 3 receiver a longshot to suit up Week 3. That said, Brown will almost certainly need to resume practicing in at least a limited fashion Thursday and/or Friday for any chance of being cleared for Sunday's game against the Raiders, a game for which quarterback Jayden Daniels (knee) also looks uncertain.
Sep 11, 2025
Quickly ruled out
Brown was ruled out for the rest of Thursday's game against the Packers due to a groin injury.
ANALYSIS
Brown departed Thursday's game with a groin issue in the third quarter but was ruled out quickly. The severity of the issue is unclear, though he will have a few extra days to recover ahead of Washington's Week 3 matchup against the Raiders.
Sep 11, 2025
Suffers groin injury
Brown is questionable to return to Thursday's game against the Packers due to a groin injury, Commanders writer Ben Standig reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown seems to have suffered the injury in the third quarter, though the exact cause and nature of the injury are unclear. He had one catch for nine yards prior to his departure.
Sep 10, 2025
Cleared for TNF
Brown (knee/rest) does not carry an injury designation for Thursday's road matchup against the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Brown didn't practice Wednesday after having been listed as limited on Washington's walk-through practice reports Monday and Tuesday, but the team simply appears to be following the same maintenance protocol that was required for the No. 3 receiver to suit up Week 1. He was targeted three times while playing 46 percent of offensive snaps during the Commanders' regular-season opener against the Giants, securing two of those targets for 27 yards. Brown looks set for a similar workload versus Green Bay, contributing at wide receiver behind top options Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel.
Sep 9, 2025
Limited on practice estimate
The Commanders listed Brown (knee) as a limited participant on Tuesday's practice estimate.
ANALYSIS
Washington is facing a quick turnaround from Sunday's 21-6 win over the Giants with a Thursday night matchup with the Packers in Week 2, so the team is unlikely to do much in terms of on-field work leading up to the contest. Brown has been estimated as a limited participant on both of the Commanders' first two reports of the week, but he still stands a good chance at playing Thursday. In the Commanders' season-opening win, Brown started and played 33 of the team's 70 snaps on offense en route to finishing with a 2-27-0 receiving line on three targets.
Sep 8, 2025
Limited on practice estimate
Brown (knee) was listed as limited on Monday's practice estimate.
ANALYSIS
Brown was also listed on the Commanders' Week 1 injury report while managing a knee issue, but he approached the team's season-opening win over the Giants without an injury designation and caught two of his three targets for 27 yards, while logging a 47 percent snap share in the contest. Assuming no setbacks, it looks like the wideout's listed limitations Monday could be maintenance-related, with added context regarding Brown's status for Thursday night's game against the Packers set to arrive no later than Tuesday's practice report.
Sep 5, 2025
Avoids injury designation
Brown (knee/rest) didn't practice Friday but doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Giants, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
ANALYSIS
Listed as a limited participant the previous two days, Brown apparently showed enough to gain clearance for the season opener, although his knee requires maintenance. It's unclear if missing most of the summer will impact his depth-chart standing for Week 1; he entered training camp as the favorite for the No. 3 WR job but could now lose work to Jaylin Lane and/or Luke McCaffrey. Either way, Browns isn't likely to see many targets while both Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel remain healthy.
Sep 4, 2025
Remains limited Thursday
Brown (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Brown has been limited in both of the Commanders' first two Week 1 sessions, so he may need to upgrade to full participation Friday to avoid carrying a designation into Sunday's game against the Giants. The 29-year-old projects to open the season as the Commanders' No. 3 wideout behind Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel, a role that may not translate to consistent target volume on a weekly basis.
Sep 3, 2025
Limited in practice
Brown (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown picked up an injury during June minicamp, and despite opening training camp as a full participant he was held off the practice field late August. It's encouraging for Brown's odds of playing Week 1 to now see him back on the field, though he'll have only two more chances to upgrade to full participation ahead of Sunday's regular-season opener against the Giants.
Aug 20, 2025
Not practicing
Brown (undisclosed) remains absent from practice, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown initially was injured during June minicamp, and while he returned for the start of training camp as a limited participant, he either never made it back to full participation or was quickly sidelined again. Whatever the case, he hasn't played this preseason and seems uncertain for Week 1, which is especially concerning for a Commanders offense that also has Terry McLaurin (contract) absent from practice. Brown was viewed as at least a slight favorite for the No. 3 WR role earlier this offseason, potentially facing competition from Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane, K.J. Osborn or Michael Gallup. It's unclear at this point who besides Deebo Samuel will take WR snaps come Week 1.
Aug 18, 2025
Not playing Monday
Brown isn't suiting up for Monday's preseason game versus the Bengals, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown was carted off the field during mandatory minicamp in June due to an undisclosed injury and then was eased into training camp before eventually practicing without restrictions as of July 28. Nonetheless, he'll miss a second consecutive exhibition, leaving him just one more chance for game action (Saturday against the Ravens) ahead of Week 1. Brown is coming off an injury-shortened campaign in which he tallied a 35-453-1 line on 56 targets in 11 regular-season games.
Jul 28, 2025
Practicing without setbacks
Brown (undisclosed) is practicing at training camp, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown was eased into training camp after suffering an unspecified injury at June minicamp. He's likely competing with Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane and others for the No. 3 WR job, although there are additional first-team reps to go around while Terry McLaurin (ankle / contract) remains absent from practice.
Jul 23, 2025
Easing into camp
Brown (undisclosed) avoided the PUP list for the start of training camp but may not be a full participant early on, according to independent NFL writer Ben Standig.
ANALYSIS
Brown was last seen June 11 being carted off the field at a minicamp practice. He was scheduled for an MRI, but the Commanders went on summer break right after and never provided any update on the nature or extent of Brown's injury. It sounds like he's on track for Week 1, with time to make his case this summer for the No. 3 WR role behind Terry McLaurin (who is holding out for a new contract) and Deebo Samuel.
Jun 12, 2025
Set for MRI
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Thursday that Brown (undisclosed) will undergo an MRI, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Quinn did not specify the nature of Brown's issue, but the veteran wideout appeared to go down via a non-contact injury while making a catch on the ground at practice Wednesday. He was able to walk to the sideline under his own strength but then had to be carted into the building. If the MRI reveals a significant injury for Brown, Washington will have to count on one of Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane, Michael Gallup (hamstring), K.J. Osborn or Chris Moore to step up as the No. 3 receiver behind Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel.
Jun 11, 2025
Carted off at practice Wednesday
Brown (undisclosed) was carted off during Wednesday's minicamp session, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown made a catch on the ground during 7-on-7 drills per Ben Standig of The Athletic, then slowly walked to the sideline under his own power before being carted into the building. Thursday will be the final day of Washington's mandatory minicamp, so an update on the nature and severity of Brown's injury should arrive then at the latest. Brown re-signed with the Commanders on a one-year contract in March and looks like the favorite for the No. 3 receiver gig behind Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel, if healthy.

Feeling better after 2024 injury
Brown has resumed working out, and he said Tuesday that he'll "come back stronger" after missing the end of last season with a kidney injury, Commanders Wire reports.
ANALYSIS
Released by the Texans last summer after they overbooked at wide receiver, Brown landed on his feet in Washington and quickly earned the No. 2 receiver job. He averaged 3.2 catches for 41.2 yards in 11 games, albeit with his lone TD coming on a hail mary, before a kidney laceration in early December brought his season to an early end. The Commanders re-signed Brown last week on a one-year deal worth up to $4.5 million, which is similar to what he got from the Texans at the same time last year before a trade for Stefon Diggs made him expendable. The Commanders have also made a major trade for a veteran wide receiver, adding Deebo Samuel, but they don't have great depth after losing Dyami Brown (Jaguars) and Olamide Zaccheaus (Bears) in free agency. While Noah Brown's depth-chart standing could still take a hit as the offseason progresses, he's a clear favorite for the No. 3 receiver job amongst players currently on the roster.
Mar 13, 2025
Brought back by Washington
Brown (torso) re-signed with the Commanders on Thursday via a one-year contract, Adam Schefter reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown's new deal with Washington is reportedly worth up to $4.5 million. The 29-year-old wideout operated as the team's No. 3 receiver across 11 regular-season appearances in 2024, finding modest success before landing on IR due to a kidney laceration sustained Week 13. In that span, he secured 35 catches for 453 yards and one touchdown on 56 targets. Brown has eclipsed the usual recovery timeframe for his injury, so he figures to be ready to participate in full by the start of offseason activities. He rejoins a wide receiver corps that added Deebo Samuel via trade from the 49ers, providing another established playmaker alongside No. 1 wideout Terry McLaurin.
Jan 28, 2025
Finishes season on IR
Brown (kidney) was on injured reserve from Week 15 through the end of the playoffs, finishing the 2024 season with 35 catches for 453 yards and one touchdown on 56 targets in 11 games.
ANALYSIS
Released by the Texans at the end of the preseason, Brown signed with Washington and became the team's No. 2 receiver by the end of September. He kept the role until Week 13 when a kidney laceration brought his season to an early end. Brown should be healthy before the start of offseason activities, and he's scheduled for unrestricted free agency after celebrating his 29th birthday in January.
Dec 14, 2024
Placed on injured reserve
Brown (kidney) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
This was purely a transactional move as Brown is expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering a kidney injury back in Week 13. The Commanders activated Jamison Crowder (calf) off injured reserve, but expect Dyami Brown and Olamide Zaccheaus to get first crack at filling the role opposite Terry McLaurin the team's passing attack.
Dec 11, 2024
Sidelined by kidney injury
Brown is expected to miss several weeks (and possibly the rest of the season) due to a kidney injury, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It initially was reported as a rib injury when Brown exited Washington's Week 13 win over the Titans. Coming out of a Week 14 bye, coach Dan Quinn revealed Wednesday that Brown is in danger of missing the rest of the season due to an internal injury. We now know it's a kidney injury -- likely a laceration that was caused by a cracked rib. With Brown out for at least the next few weeks, there's an opportunity for Dyami Brown, Olamide Zaccheaus and Luke McCaffrey to get more snaps alongside No. 1 receiver Terry McLaurin.
Dec 11, 2024
Out with potential season-ending injury
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said Wednesday that Brown (rib) is "going to be out for a while" with a "significant internal injury," Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown exited early in the Commanders' Week 13 win over the Titans with what had been listed as a rib injury, and after undergoing further testing over the team's Week 14 bye, the wideout is apparently dealing with a more severe issue than anticipated. Quinn didn't go into specifics regarding Brown's injury, though the coach noted that the 28-year-old receiver will likely be lost for the season, pending further evaluation. If that's the case, Brown's eighth professional campaign will come to an end with him having recorded 35 receptions for 453 yards and one touchdown on 56 targets over 11 games. In Brown's absence, more snaps could be available for Dyami Brown, Olamide Zaccheaus and Luke McCaffrey behind top wideout Terry McLaurin.
Dec 1, 2024
Injures ribs Sunday
Brown suffered a rib injury during Sunday's game against the Titans, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
At the time of his exit late in the third quarter, Brown had gathered in three of four targets for 27 yards. For as long as Brown is sidelined, Olamide Zaccheaus, Dyami Brown and Luke McCaffrey will be the candidates for WR reps alongside top option Terry McLaurin.
Nov 29, 2024
Good to go against Titans
Brown (knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Titans, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown didn't practice Thursday but returned to full participation Friday to avoid an injury designation. He has established himself as the No. 2 wide receiver for Washington in recent weeks, drawing 29 targets over the past five games.
Nov 28, 2024
Tending to kne injury
Brown was listed as a non-participant on Thursday's practice report due to a knee issue.
ANALYSIS
The Commanders added Brown to the injury report midweek, so the situation will be one to monitor as the weekend approaches to see if he may be in danger of sitting out Sunday versus the Titans, especially with the team's Week 14 bye on the horizon. Over the last seven games, he's surpassed 50 receiving yards on four occasions en route to a 23-315-1 line on 42 targets during that stretch.
Nov 24, 2024
Team-high target total in loss
Brown brought in six of 10 targets for 71 yards in the Commanders' 34-26 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Facing his original NFL squad, Brown finished as the Commanders' pace-setter in targets while co-leading the team in receptions as well. Brown's catch total was also a season high, making it quite the bounce-back effort after Brown had recorded only one catch for four yards in a Week 11 loss to the Eagles. Brown has at least six targets in four of his last five contests, giving him a solid floor heading into a Week 13 home matchup against the Titans.
Nov 15, 2024
Held to four yards
Brown caught one of four targets for four yards in a 26-18 loss to the Eagles on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Brown led Washington's wide receivers with 77 percent snap share, slightly ahead of even Terry McLaurin (71 percent), who also had a rough night against an excellent Philadelphia secondary. They'll both get a much better matchup Week 12 against the Cowboys.
Nov 10, 2024
Can't get going in Week 10
Brown recorded three receptions on seven targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
The entire Commanders' offense suffered from a lack of efficiency in Sunday's loss, and that carried over into Brown's stat line as his longest catch went for just 14 yards while he also hauled in fewer than half of his targets for the first time on the campaign. While it was a down performance, he has seen at least six targets in four of Washington's last five games, which suggests he should have the chance to bounce back in Week 11 against the Eagles.
Nov 4, 2024
Solid performance against Giants
Brown recorded five receptions on six targets for 60 yards in Sunday's 27-22 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Brown maintained a significant role in the Commanders' offense and has now earned at least six targets in three of his last four games. While he didn't replicate his heroics from Week 8, Brown did manage lengthy receptions of 31 and 16 yards to account for the majority of his production. Notably, he appears to be preferred as the second receiver option behind Terry McLaurin, surpassing Olamide Zaccheaus for the time being.
Oct 29, 2024
Catches hail mary
Brown caught three of six targets for 73 yards and a touchdown in an 18-15 win over the Bears on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Brown had a quiet afternoon until he caught a tipped pass for a 52-yard, game-winning TD on the final snap of the game, but there were some positive signs even before the miraculous play, namely season highs for snap share (82 percent) and route share (85 percent). He's been targeted on 21 percent of his routes this season while typically operating as Washington's No. 2 receiver, only with Olamide Zaccheaus and/or Dyami Brown poaching a bunch of routes and snap each week. If the added playing time wasn't just a one-week blip, Brown could emerge as a low-end fantasy starter in the second half of the season, starting with a Week 9 road game against the Giants.
Oct 23, 2024
Targeted once in win
Brown caught his only target for 16 yards in Sunday's 40-7 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Brown's one target and one catch in Week 7 were both season lows in the five games he's played so far in 2024. The 28-year-old wideout played the second-most wide receiver snaps (42) in the contest, just behind Terry McLaurin (49). Brown has continued to see his role grow throughout the early part of the season, and its possible that he could eventually be considered a weekly starter for fantasy if he can make the most of his opportunities in Washington's passing attack. It may be difficult to take a step forward in Week 8, however, as the Commanders could be without rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels (ribs) when they square off against the Bears.
Oct 17, 2024
Upgrades to full practice
Brown (groin) was a full practice participant Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Brown missed Week 5 with the groin injury but then returned for Sunday's 30-23 loss to Baltimore and caught four of his team-high eight targets for 58 yards. He handled 66 percent snap share and 66 percent route share -- right around his season norms, and a good estimate of what to expect this Sunday against Carolina. Brown has caught either three or four passes in each of his four appearances for Washington, but last week was his first time drawing more than four targets in a game.
Oct 16, 2024
Still limited by groin injury
Brown (groin) was limited at Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Brown continues to operate with a cap on his practice reps due to the groin injury that sidelined him Week 5, but the issue didn't stop him from suiting up this past Sunday in Baltimore, where he gathered in four of eight targets for 58 yards. He'll have two more chances to get back to full this week before the Commanders potentially tag him with a designation ahead of Sunday's game versus the Panthers.
Oct 14, 2024
Draws season-high eight targets
Brown caught four of eight targets for 58 yards in a 30-23 loss at Baltimore on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Brown returned to his role as the No. 2 receiver after missing Week 5 with a groin injury. His 66 percent route share was third best on the team, behind only WR Terry McLaurin (79 percent) and TE Zach Ertz (76 percent), and Brown led the team in both targets and air yards (101). While Brown doesn't get quite as many snaps/routes as a typical starter, he's been targeted at a surprisingly high rate this year, seeing the ball on 25 percent of his routes and accounting for 24 percent of Washington's air yards in his active games. A favorable Week 7 matchup against the Panthers makes Brown a reasonable lineup option for deep-ish leagues and DFS contests.
Oct 11, 2024
Returning to face Baltimore
Brown (groin) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Baltimore, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown emerged as Washington's No. 2 receiver prior to missing Week 5 with a groin injury, catching exactly three passes in each game Weeks 2-4. It's not likely to be a high-volume role, but the Commanders may be inclined to pass more than usual this weekend, facing a tough Baltimore run defense with RB Brian Robinson (knee) in danger of missing the game. Even so, Brown's volume is hard to project due to the possibility of sharing playing time with Olamide Zaccheaus and/or Dyami Brown.
Oct 10, 2024
Limited in practice
Brown (groin) was a limited practice participant Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Brown has been limited in back-to-back practices after missing Sunday's 34-13 win over Cleveland. An absence this Sunday at Baltimore would give Dyami Brown and Olamide Zaccheaus another shot at extra playing time, likely sharing the No. 2 WR role again. Terry McLaurin remains the runaway No. 1 receiver, and Luke McCaffrey's role as the No. 3 has been fairly steady.
Oct 9, 2024
Returns to practice
Brown (groin) returned to practice Wednesday as a limited participant.
ANALYSIS
Brown didn't practice last week and ultimately was ruled out for Sunday's 34-13 win over Cleveland. A return to practice at least puts him on the right track to upgrade to a 'questionable' designation ahead of Sunday's game at Baltimore. Brown's absence for Week 5 freed up more playing time for Dyami Brown and Olamide Zaccheaus, a duo that essentially shared the No. 2 receiver role.
Oct 4, 2024
Ruled out
Brown (groin) will not play Sunday against the Browns, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown has emerged as Washington's No. 2 receiver, giving the offense a second deep/intermediate threat alongside Terry McLaurin. It's not a high-volume role, but Brown's absence for Week 5 does slightly boost the target projections for WRs Luke McCaffrey, Olamide Zaccheaus and Dyami Brown.
Oct 3, 2024
Sits out Thursday's practice
Brown (groin) was a non-participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
After opening Week 5 prep Wednesday as a limited participant, Brown's downgrade to no activity a day later creates more uncertainty about his status for Sunday's game against the Browns. The Commanders will wait and see what, if anything, Brown can do at Friday's practice before potentially handing him a designation heading into the weekend.

Dealing with groin injury
Brown (groin) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
It's a new injury for Brown, who ranked second among Washington's wide receivers in snaps and routes the past two games. He's caught exactly three passes in each of his three appearances, with either three or four targets every week. Brown's ability to practice in any capacity suggests he's dealing with a minor injury ahead of Sunday's home game against the Browns.
Sep 24, 2024
Catches three passes
Brown caught each of his three targets for 29 yards in a 38-33 win over the Bengals on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Brown's 58 percent snap share was second most among Washington wide receivers but still less than what a starter would normally get. He again ceded some work to Dyami Brown, while Luke McCaffrey subbed in as the No. 3 receiver and primary slot man for three-wide formations. (Noah) Brown has made the most of his limited chances in two games, catching each of his six targets for 85 yards, so it's possible he gets more playing time Week 4 at Arizona.
Sep 17, 2024
Three grabs in win
Brown caught all three of his targets for 56 yards in Sunday's 21-18 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Brown's 20 offensive snaps were the fewest of any Commander's wide receiver Sunday, however he paced the group with 56 yards in the contest. The veteran wideout was a healthy inactive in Week 1, but his performance against the Giants could help him to earn a more prominent role going forward. Brown is currently completing with Terry McLaurin, Luke McCaffrey, Dyami Brown and Olamide Zaccheaus for playing time, so he has an uphill battle to see consistent usage in Washington's passing game until proven otherwise. The 28-year-old will have his next opportunity to prove himself in a Week 3 matchup with the Bengals.

Could make Washington debut Sunday
Coach Dan Quinn said Wednesday that Brown is "definitely trending in the right direction" to be active for Sunday's game against the Giants, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown was a healthy scratch for the Commanders in Week 1, but it seems like that was simply due to the veteran wideout getting fully acclimated to a new offensive scheme, per Ben Standig of The Athletic. Behind No. 1 target Terry McLaurin and No. 2 receiver Olamide Zaccheaus, there's room for Brown to carve out a notable role on offense behind alongside Luke McCaffrey and Dyami Brown. It may take a bit more time for Brown to work up to a full snap share, though, as he joined forces with Washington as recently as late August.
Sep 8, 2024
Healthy scratch in Week 1
Brown (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 1 game against the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
The veteran wideout is somewhat of a surprise healthy scratch, considering the Commanders' relative lack of proven receiver depth behind clear No. 1 target Terry McLaurin. Nevertheless, Brown's inactive status will further clear a path to additional opportunities for rookie third-round pick Luke McCaffrey and Dyami Brown behind McLaurin and No. 2 receiver Olamide Zaccheaus.

Lands with Washington
The Commanders are signing Brown (shoulder) to a contract Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown was caught up in Houston's roster cuts Tuesday, and he now gets a landing spot where he'll have a chance to meaningfully contribute. The 28-year-old is coming off back-to-back seasons of over 550 receiving yards, with the Cowboys in 2022 and Texans in 2023, and Washington has a real need for reliable contributors behind Terry McLaurin and Olamide Zaccheaus, though rookie third-round pick Luke McCaffrey could also be an option to mix in. Brown missed time in training camp with a shoulder injury after undergoing offseason labrum surgery, but it looks like the Commanders expect him to be available Week 1 against Tampa Bay.
Aug 27, 2024
Cut loose by Houston
The Texans are releasing Brown (shoulder) on Tuesday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown may be the first player to get released for non-salary reasons a year after producing back-to-back 150-yard receiving games. The catch is that he hasn't done a whole lot else in his career and was stuck on a roster with the deepest WR group in the league. It didn't help that Brown had offseason surgery to repair a torn labrum and then missed time in training camp with a shoulder injury. The 28-year-old will now become a free agent just five and a half months after signing a one-year, $4 million contract that included $3 million guaranteed.
Aug 15, 2024
Sits out of practice
Brown (shoulder) missed practice Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
The wide receiver has been out since early August with the injury, including missing Houston's preseason game against the Steelers on Aug. 9. Brown recorded a career-high 567 receiving yards in 2023 and is competing for the fourth wide receiver spot behind Stefon Diggs, Tank Dell and Nico Collins.
Aug 9, 2024
Expected to miss Friday
Brown (shoulder) is expected to miss Friday's preseason game against the Steelers, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown's strained shoulder will keep him out through Houston's preseason opener, although it was reported that he's close to returning to the field. The 6-foot-2 wide receiver will likely return to practice Monday, looking to compete for the fourth wide receiver spot against Robert Woods, John Metchie and Ben Skowronek.
Aug 8, 2024
Nearing return from shoulder injury
Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston relayed Wednesday that Brown is close to returning from a strained shoulder injury that has kept him out of practice since last week.
ANALYSIS
It's not clear whether it's the same shoulder that Brown sustained a torn labrum injury in the Houston's wild-card win over Cleveland in January. However, it seems likely that the Texans will take the cautious route and keep the 28-year-old out of the preseason opener against the Steelers on Friday. Brown is coming off a career-high 567 receiving yards in just 10 regular-season games in 2023, and once he's returned to practice, he'll compete with Robert Woods, John Metchie and Ben Skowronek for the fourth wide receiver spot behind Stefon Diggs (undisclosed), Nico Collins and Tank Dell.
Jul 31, 2024
Wearing red shirt
Brown did not practice Tuesday and was wearing a red shirt, Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
It's not clear what prompted Brown to be wearing the non-contact shirt, but it indicates he likely won't suit up for Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against the Bears. Brown is the mix for the fourth wideout, competing with Xavier Hutchinson, John Metchie, Ben Skowronek and Robert Woods.
Jul 18, 2024
Gets green light for camp
Brown (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation and has been fully cleared for the start of training camp Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown missed the Texans' divisional-round playoff loss to the Ravens in January with a shoulder injury and eventually required offseason surgery to repair a torn labrum. The wideout has completed the recovery process and looks like he'll enter camp without any restrictions. Though staying healthy proved difficult for Brown, he was a productive secondary target in the Houston passing attack when available in 2023, finishing the regular season with 33 catches for 567 yards and two touchdowns on 55 targets over 10 games.
Jun 4, 2024
Expected to be ready for camp
Brown (shoulder) is expected to be ready for the start of training camp next month, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown is still recovering from surgery to repair a torn labrum he suffered in the Texans' playoff win over the Browns back in January. However, the veteran wideout seems to be on track in his rehab and should be healed well in advance of Week 1. Following the Texans' addition of Stefon Diggs to go with Nico Collins and Tank Dell, Brown will be in the mix for fourth wideout duties in Houston after re-signing on a one-year deal over the offseason.
Mar 12, 2024
Staying with Houston
Brown (shoulder) is slated to sign a one-year contract with the Texans worth $5 million, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Over the course of 10 regular-season games with Houston in 2023, Brown recorded 33 catches (on 55 targets) for 567 yards and two TDs. The 28-year-old was placed on IR twice last season, but assuming the wideout has moved past his injury issues, Brown will have a chance to reclaim a complementary role in a pass-catching corps that also includes wide receivers Nico Collins, Tank Dell (fibula), Robert Woods and John Metchie, as well as tight end Dalton Schultz.
Mar 11, 2024
Re-signing with Houston
Brown plans to sign a new contract with the Texans, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown had his most efficient season as a pro in 2023, recording 33 catches for 567 yards on 55 targets over 10 games. Now he's set to run it back with C.J. Stroud in Houston in 2024 and will look to maintain last year's level of success over the course of a full season.
Jan 15, 2024
Sent to IR, ending season
The Texans placed Brown (shoulder) on injured reserve Monday.
ANALYSIS
Brown's 2023 was full of injuries, and it's now officially over for the 28-year-old. He missed Weeks 2 through 5 on injured reserve with a groin injury, missed Weeks 11 and 12 with a knee issue, and then missed most of Week 17 and the Week 18 finale with a back injury. He returned for Saturday's playoff game against the Browns but lasted five snaps before sustaining the shoulder injury. In total, Brown posted a 33-567-2 line on 55 regular-season targets. He stepped up in a big way with 6-153-1 and 7-172-0 efforts to start November. Brown is scheduled to be a free agent in March after playing on a one-year deal with Houston. With Brown sidelined, the Texans will lean even more on Nico Collins, Robert Woods, John Metchie and Xavier Hutchinson at wideout for the remainder of their playoff run.
Jan 13, 2024
Ruled out of Saturday's game
Brown (shoulder) won't return to Saturday's wild-card game versus the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Brown was targeted once on a deep ball from quarterback C.J. Stroud on the Texans' first drive of the contest that he broke up to avoid an interception. In the process, Brown sustained a shoulder injury that won't allow any more game action Saturday. Stroud thus will turn to Nico Collins, Robert Woods, John Metchie and Xavier Hutchinson at wide receiver for the rest of the team's playoff opener.
Jan 13, 2024
Sustains shoulder injury
Brown suffered a shoulder injury during Saturday's wild-card game against the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Brown sat out Week 18 at Indianapolis due to a back issue that capped him to one limited practice in advance of the Texans' playoff opener. After being deemed active Saturday and then targeted once by quarterback C.J. Stroud on Houston's first possession, Brown now is tending to a new health concern. As long as Brown is sidelined, Nico Collins, Robert Woods, John Metchie and Xavier Hutchinson will be the wide receivers available to the offense.
Jan 13, 2024
Suiting up in wild-card round
Brown (back) is listed as active for Saturday's wild-card game against the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Brown, who was deemed a non-participant both Tuesday and Wednesday, was able to log a limited practice Thursday before being listed as questionable for the contest. With Brown back in action after missing the Texans' playoff-clinching win over the Colts in Week 18, he'll provide the team's passing attack with valuable depth alongside fellow wideouts Nico Collins and Robert Woods (hip). Prior to missing last Sunday's game against Indianapolis, Brown recorded a 33-567-2 line on 55 targets over the course of 10 outings.
Jan 11, 2024
Questionable for Saturday
Brown is listed as questionable for Saturday's wild-card playoff game against the Browns.
ANALYSIS
After being deemed a non-participant both Tuesday and Wednesday, Brown logged a limited practice Thursday, which gives the wideout a chance to be available for Saturday's 4:30 p.m. ET kickoff. Brown was inactive for the Texans' playoff-clinching Week 18 win over the Colts, but if he's able to suit up this weekend, he'll provide his team's passing attack with valuable pass-catching depth alongside top wideout Nico Collins and possibly Robert Woods (hip), who is also listed as questionable for Houston's playoff opener.
Jan 11, 2024
Returns to practice
Brown (back) returned to practice Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
After being listed as a 'DNP' both Tuesday and Wednesday, Brown's presence at Thursday's practice offers hope that he could be available for Saturday's playoff opener against the Browns. Thursday's looming injury report will reveal the wideout's official injury status ahead of the contest.
Jan 10, 2024
Still not practicing
Brown (back) wasn't spotted at practice Wednesday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown, who was inactive for the Texans' playoff-clinching Week 18 win over the Colts, didn't practice Tuesday either, though Alexander noted that the receiver is improving as Saturday's wild-card round game against the Browns approaches. He now has one more chance to practice this week, but the wideout appears destined to head into the weekend with an injury designation.
Jan 9, 2024
Absent from Tuesday's practice
Brown (back) isn't participating in Tuesday's practice, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown and fellow wideout Robert Woods (hip) were both absent from the Texans' first practice of the week after the two were sidelined for this past Saturday's 23-19 win over the Colts. Both receivers will have two more opportunities to mix into drills before the Texans potentially give either player a designation for this Saturday's wild-card game against the Browns. While Brown and Woods were sidelined in Week 18, John Metchie (one catch for five yards on two targets) and Xavier Hutchison (one catch for six yards on four targets) settled into top-three roles at receiver, but neither came through with a useful fantasy line.
Jan 4, 2024
Sitting out key Week 18 game
Brown (back) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Colts.
ANALYSIS
With a wild-card berth and possibly even the AFC South title at stake for the Texans this weekend, Brown won't be available after he was unable to practice in any fashion this week due to the the back injury he sustained in this past Sunday's win over the Titans. Fellow wideout Robert Woods, meanwhile, also failed to practice this week, but he'll take a questionable tag into Saturday. If Houston is without both Brown and Woods, the team would be left with Nico Collins, John Metchie and Xavier Hutchinson as its likely starting receiving trio in Week 18.
Jan 3, 2024
DNP again Wednesday
Brown (back) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Brown left Week 17 early and was unable to return after playing just seven offensive snaps against the Titans. His practice week has started with back-to-back DNPs ahead of Saturday's important game against the Colts.
Jan 2, 2024
Listed as DNP on practice estimate
Brown (back) was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday's estimated injury report.
ANALYSIS
After missing Weeks 11 and 12 due to a knee injury, Brown continued to be listed on Texans practice reports for the next five weeks but still suited up on each occasion. But he made an early departure from this past Sunday's win against the Titans with a new concern, leaving his status cloudy ahead of the team's regular-season finale Saturday at Indianapolis. Consequently, Brown's status will be one to watch as the week goes on to get a sense of his potential to play in the upcoming contest.
Dec 31, 2023
Won't return Sunday
Brown (hip) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Brown missed games in Weeks 11 and 12 with a knee sprain and had appeared on Texans injury reports over the last few weeks with the same issue, but it's a different health concern that forced him out early in Sunday's contest. He'll finish the game with one catch for eight yards on two targets. Following Brown's early exit, the Texans are left with Nico Collins, Robert Woods, Xavier Hutchinson and John Metchie as their available receivers.
Dec 31, 2023
Exits Sunday's game
Brown exited Sunday's game against the Titans with a hip injury.
ANALYSIS
Before leaving the contest, Brown caught one of his two targets for eight yards. In his absence, Robert Woods, Xavier Hutchinson and John Metchie are available to handle added WR snaps behind Nico Collins.
Dec 29, 2023
Good to go Sunday
Brown (knee) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Titans after practicing fully Friday.
ANALYSIS
Brown logged limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, but following Friday's full session, he'll be available Sunday, as is the case with fellow WR Nico Collins, who is managing a calf issue. In the Texans' 36-22 loss to the Browns in Week 16, Brown caught three of of his seven targets for 38 yards, but his fantasy prospects this weekend should be boosted by a better matchup as well as the return of top QB C.J. Stroud from a two-game absence.
Dec 28, 2023
Logs another limited practice
Brown (knee) remained limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Brown was also limited Wednesday, with Friday's final injury report slated to reveal whether the wideout approaches Sunday's game against the Titans with an injury designation or cleared for Week 17 action. If Brown is available this weekend, he'll be catching passes from quarterback C.J. Stroud, who has cleared the NFL's concussion protocol and practiced fully Thursday.
Dec 27, 2023
Limited in practice
Brown (knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Dealing with the same injury for more than a month now, Brown has played in four straight games since missing Weeks 11-12. His fantasy value for Week 17 against the Titans partially hinges on the health of QB C.J. Stroud (concussion), who was a limited practice participant Wednesday after missing the past two games.
Dec 26, 2023
Seven targets in loss
Brown caught three of seven targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 36-22 loss to Cleveland in Week 16.
ANALYSIS
Brown had the second-most targets and yards on a day when Houston's offense missed its starting quarterback, C.J. Stroud (concussion). Between Stroud's absence and injuries at wideout, the passing attack has suffered, although the Texans welcomed back Nico Collins from a calf injury Sunday. Houston will not have Tank Dell (lower leg) for the rest of the season, which leaves Collins and Brown as the top two followed closely by Robert Woods.
Dec 22, 2023
Good to go versus Browns
Brown (knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Browns after participating fully in Friday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Brown opened the week with a pair of limited practices, but he's good to go for Sunday's game. After missing two weeks with a knee injury, Brown was held without a catch in his first two games back before getting back on track with eight catches for 82 yards and a touchdown in last week's win over the Titans. That performance came with Case Keenum under center, and Keenum's expected to start at quarterback once again Sunday with C.J. Stroud (concussion) still sidelined.
Dec 21, 2023
Remains limited at practice
Brown (knee), who was limited at practice Wednesday, logged another limited session Thursday.
ANALYSIS
The same applies to fellow WR Nico Collins (calf), which sets the stage for Friday's final injury report to add valuable context with regard to the chances of both players suiting up this weekend against the Browns. While Collins was sidelined in Week 15, Brown racked up eight catches on 11 targets for 82 yards and a touchdown in this past Sunday's 19-16 win over the Titans.
Dec 20, 2023
Logs limited practice
Brown (knee) was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
In this past Sunday's 19-16 overtime win over the Titans, Brown logged 66 of a possible 77 snaps on offense, en route to recording eight catches on 11 targets for 82 yards and a touchdown. With no setbacks for the wideout having been reported since then, there's a solid chance that Brown's listed limitations Wednesday were maintenance-related.
Dec 17, 2023
Big day on 11 targets
Brown recorded eight receptions on 11 targets for 82 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 19-16 win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
With Nico Collins (calf) sidelined, Brown unsurprisingly led the way for Houston pass catchers in terms of targets, yards and receptions. He did the majority of his work in the short areas of the field, though he did manage long gains of 22 and 20 yards. Brown then tacked on a clutch three-yard touchdown catch with 3:03 left in the game that ultimately sent the contest into overtime. Brown's production has largely been dictated by the availability of the team's other wide receivers, as he had failed to record a catch in each of the last two games. However, even if Collins returns, Brown should see a projected bump in production with the likely return of starting quarterback C.J. Stroud (concussion) for a Week 16 matchup against the Browns.
Dec 17, 2023
Cleared to play Sunday
Brown (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out Weeks 11 and 12 due to the knee issue, Brown returned to action for the Texans' last two contests, but he failed to record any receptions on seven targets in games against the Broncos and Jets despite playing ample snaps in both contests. Brown remained a limited participant in practice throughout Week 15 prep before taking a questionable tag into the weekend, but the Texans never had much concern about his availability for game day. With top wideout Nico Collins (calf) inactive Sunday, the Texans will likely be counting on Brown for more production coming off his pair of catchless outings. Case Keenum, who is starting at quarterback this week with C.J. Stroud (concussion) sidelined, will be relying on Brown, Robert Woods, Xavier Hutchinson and John Metchie as his top options at receiver.
Dec 16, 2023
Expected to suit up
Brown (knee), officially listed as questionable, is expected to play Sunday against the Titans, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown has played through the knee issue the past two weeks, so it's not surprising that he's expected to do the same in Week 15. Nico Collins (calf) is on the opposite side of questionable per Schefter, meaning Brown could be the top priority for targets from Case Keenum. Neither Collins' nor Brown's status will become official until shortly before the Texans' 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 15, 2023
Questionable for Week 15
Brown (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Brown played through the same injury the past two weeks, though he finished both games without any receptions (on two and five targets). Looking further back, he topped 150 yards in consecutive games Weeks 9-10, then missed Weeks 11 and 12 because of the knee injury. He should get plenty of snaps if he's healthy enough to play this Sunday -- especially if Nico Collins (calf) is inactive after three straight missed practices -- though it won't be surprising if Brown continues to struggle with efficiency while playing through a knee injury and likely catching passes from backup QB Davis Mills. C.J. Stroud (concussion) missed practice throughout the week, and unlike Collins he wasn't given a 'questionable' designation, with the Texans instead listing their rookie QB as 'doubtful' ahead of a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday.
Dec 14, 2023
Still limited Thursday
Brown (knee) remained limited in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Brown missed Weeks 11 and 12 with the knee injury but has played the last two games and will be needed even more going forward with Tank Dell (ankle) done for the season and Nico Collins now battling a calf injury that is expected to sideline him for Week 15. Brown, however, may also be without C.J. Stroud (concussion) this week against the Titans.
Dec 13, 2023
Logs limited practice
Brown (knee) was limited at practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Brown logged 37 of a possible 56 snaps on offense in this past Sunday's 30-6 loss to the Jets, but failed to haul in any of his five targets in the contest. The wideout did put up nice numbers in Weeks 9 (6/153/1) and 10 (7/172/0), but his recent output (back-to-back zero-catch efforts) makes him a hit-or-miss fantasy option this weekend against Tennessee.
Dec 10, 2023
Blanked by Jets as QB goes down
Brown (knee) failed to catch any of his five targets in Sunday's 30-6 loss to the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Houston's entire passing game was stifled by the stout Jets secondary, as C.J. Stroud (concussion) threw for only 91 yards before exiting in the fourth quarter. Brown has gone two games without a catch since returning from a two-game absence due to a knee injury. Nico Collins (calf) exited the game, and if Collins joins Tank Dell (lower leg) on the sidelines in Week 15 against the Titans, Brown could become the de facto No. 1 option among Houston's wide receivers, ahead of Robert Woods, John Metchie and Xavier Hutchinson. That distinction would be much more appealing if Stroud clears concussion protocol, as the entire Houston passing game would likely take a hit if backup Davis Mills starts under center.
Dec 10, 2023
Active versus Jets
Brown (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Brown -- who approached the contest listed as questionable -- was limited at Wednesday's practice, then logged a full session Thursday before closing out the week with a 'DNP' on Friday. With his Week 14 availability confirmed, Brown will have a chance to assume a key role in a Houston WR corps that also includes Nico Collins and Robert Woods and will be without Tank Dell (leg) for the rest of the season. In his return to action in Week 13 following a two-game absence due to a knee issue, Brown logged 55 of a possible 68 snaps on offense against the Broncos but was held without a catch on two targets. A bounce-back versus New York is plausible though, barring any in-game setbacks or limitations, considering the numbers that Brown put up in Weeks 9 (6/153/1) and 10 (7/172/0).
Dec 9, 2023
Expected to suit up Sunday
League sources indicate that Brown (knee) is expected to play in Sunday's Week 14 contest versus the Jets, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown returned from a two-game absence to log 79 percent of Houston's offensive snaps in last Sunday's win against Denver, though he didn't catch either of his two targets in that contest. The veteran wideout then logged a limited followed by a full practice session to begin Week 14 prep before sitting out Friday completely. Despite that DNP, Brown appears set to take the field Sunday against New York, and he could see an increase in targets with Tank Dell out for the season due to a broken left fibula.
Dec 8, 2023
Listed as questionable
Brown (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets after not practicing Friday.
ANALYSIS
Brown, who was limited at Wednesday's practice, then logged a full session Thursday. It's unclear if the wideout's non-participation Friday is maintenance-related or indicative of a setback, but Brown's status is now worth tracking ahead of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff. If Brown is able to play this weekend, a key role in Week 14 could await, with Tank Dell now on IR after having suffered a season-ending fractured fibula.
Dec 7, 2023
Turns in full practice
Brown (knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Brown was a limited participant Wednesday in the Texans' first Week 14 practice, though his restrictions were most likely maintenance-related after he had missed two straight games before he returned to action in this past Sunday's 22-17 win over the Broncos. Though he logged a 79 percent snap share in his return to the lineup, Brown was held without a reception on two targets. After Tank Dell suffered a season-ending fractured fibula in the win over Denver, expect Brown to claim a higher volume of targets behind No. 1 receiver Nico Collins in the Texans' Week 14 with the Jets, especially if standout cornerback Sauce Gardner ends up shadowing Collins for most of the game.
Dec 6, 2023
Limited in practice, no setbacks
Brown (knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Brown returned from a two-game absence Sunday and ended up playing nearly every snap in a win over the Broncos after Tank Dell suffered a season-ending injury in the first quarter. Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports that Brown made it through the game without any setbacks to his injured knee and should thus remain a starter for the Texans moving forward, including this Sunday at the Jets. He had back-to-back games with more than 150 receiving yards in early November, but in Sunday's win over the Broncos he was held without a catch on two targets.
Dec 4, 2023
Quiet in return
Brown failed to catch either of his two targets in Sunday's 22-17 win over Denver in Week 13.
ANALYSIS
Brown returned from a two-week absence due to a knee injury and played 55 snaps (81 percent), tied with Nico Collins for most at wideout. Prior to the injury, Brown was crucial in wins over Tampa Bay and Cincinnati, when he caught 13 of 14 targets for 325 yards and a touchdown. The Texans will need a return to that form after Tank Dell suffered a season-ending leg injury Sunday. Brown is not a direct replacement for Dell's field-stretching ability, but he's expected to get more balls thrown his way as a result of the injury. Robert Woods and John Metchie will also get chances.
Dec 3, 2023
Returning from two-game absence
Brown (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Despite missing the Texans' final Week 13 practice Friday and being limited for sessions Wednesday and Thursday, Brown demonstrated enough progress in his recovery from a bruised knee to gain clearance to play Sunday. He'll be back in action after a two-game absence, looking to build on his strong showing over his previous three outings, when he accrued a 16-382-1 receiving line on 19 targets. Brown took on 70-plus percent snap shares in each of those contests, though now that all of Nico Collins, Robert Woods and Tank Dell are healthy, Brown may not be guaranteed a full-time role in three-wide sets.
Dec 2, 2023
Should play versus Denver
Brown (knee) is expected to play in Sunday's game against the Broncos, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown is dealing with a knee contusion that has sidelined him for the past two games, but he was able to log back-to-back limited practices before sitting out Friday's session. Barring any setbacks during pregame warmups, it's expected that the 27-year-old will return to action Week 13, per Wilson. In the two games prior to his absence, Brown logged 13 receptions (on 14 targets) for 325 yards and a touchdown.
Dec 1, 2023
Questionable for Sunday
Brown (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos after missing practice Friday.
ANALYSIS
Brown, who has been sidelined for two straight contests, logged limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday before being downgraded to no activity Friday. The wideout's status for this weekend's contest thus is cloudy, though fortunately for those interested in utilizing either Brown or Tank Dell (calf, questionable) in Week 13 fantasy lineups, the Texans kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Nov 30, 2023
Still limited Thursday
Brown (knee) remained a limited participant in practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Brown has missed two straight games, but consecutive limited practices to begin Week 13 prep improve the wideout's chances of returning to action Sunday against the Broncos. Friday's injury report will clarify whether Brown heads into the weekend with an injury designation or is cleared to face Denver. Before sitting out a win over Arizona and a loss to Jacksonville over the past two weeks, Brown had generated a 16-382-1 receiving line on 19 targets in three outings following Houston's Week 7 bye.
Nov 29, 2023
Limited in return to practice
Brown (knee) was limited at practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Brown, who has missed two straight games due to a knee contusion, didn't practice at all last week, so the wideout's return to the field, even in a limited capacity Wednesday, has him trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos. If Brown is able to play this weekend, he figures to have Nico Collins, Tank Dell (calf) -- if available -- and Robert Woods to compete with for Week 13 WR targets.
Nov 29, 2023
Back at practice
Brown (knee) was spotted at practice Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown, who Wilson indicates is dealing with a knee contusion, has missed two straight games, but his presence at practice Wednesday offers hope that the wideout could return to action Sunday against the Broncos. The Texans' upcoming injury report is slated to reveal Brown's official participation level.
Nov 24, 2023
Ruled out this week
Brown (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Brown, who wasn't able to practice this week, will thus target a potential return to action Dec. 3 against the Broncos. In his continued absence this weekend, Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Robert Woods are slated to headline the Texans' wideout corps.
Nov 24, 2023
Still not practicing
Brown (knee) wasn't spotted at practice Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, so his continued absence Friday suggests that he could be ruled of for Week 12 action later Friday. If that's the case, Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Robert Woods would lead the Texans' wideout corps Sunday against the Jaguars.
Nov 23, 2023
Listed as non-participant again
Brown (knee) was listed as a non-participant on Thursday's practice report.
ANALYSIS
After having logged a 'DNP' on Wednesday, another listed absence clouds Brown's availability for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. If the wideout remains sidelined this weekend, Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Robert Woods will continue to lead the Texans' WR corps in Week 12.
Nov 22, 2023
Starts week with another DNP
Brown (knee) isn't practicing Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown failed to practice in any capacity last week and ultimately sat out this past Sunday's 21-16 win over the Cardinals. He still isn't ready to resume practicing as the Texans begin their preparations for a Week 12 home game against the Jaguars. In his last two games prior to the injury, Brown compiled 325 yards and one touchdown. He has two more opportunities to return to practice and will likely need to take the field in at least some capacity to suit up for Sunday's clash between AFC South rivals.
Nov 19, 2023
Could be facing 1-to-2-week absence
Brown, who is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, isn't expected to require a long-term recovery from his knee injury and could be fully healed in 1-to-2 weeks, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown wasn't able to practice in any fashion this week after he emerged from his big performance in the Texans' Week 10 win over the Bengals with the injury. Fortunately, the knee concern isn't a significant one, and Brown should have a realistic chance at returning to action Week 12 against the Jaguars on Nov. 26 if he can practice in some fashion leading up to the contest. Over his last two outings, Brown has produced a 13-325-1 receiving line on 14 targets, perhaps cementing himself as a regular in three-wide sets over Robert Woods in the process.
Nov 19, 2023
Won't play Sunday
Brown (knee) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Brown, who didn't practice this past week, headed into the contest officially listed as questionable, but he'll sit this one out and target a potential return next weekend against the Jaguars. In the absence of Brown -- who had combined to rack up 13 catches for 325 yards and a TD over his last two games -- Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Robert Woods are available to lead the Texans' Week 11 wideout corps.
Nov 18, 2023
Unlikely to play Sunday
Brown (knee) is not expected to play Sunday against the Cardinals, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown will work out before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff to determine his status, but it's unlikely that he gets the green light to play. If Brown is deemed inactive, veteran Robert Woods is expected to slide back into three-wide sets with Nico Collins and rookie Tank Dell handling most of the heavy lifting for the Texans.
Nov 17, 2023
Questionable after three DNPs
Brown (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown didn't practice in any capacity throughout the week, leading Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston to speculate earlier Friday that Brown would be unavailable Sunday, but the wide receiver wasn't officially ruled out on Friday's injury report. Nonetheless, Brown seems more likely than not to ultimately sit out, so fantasy managers who were planning to deploy the wide receiver after he had racked up 325 receiving yards over the previous two games should start lining up alternatives. On the bright side for Houston, fellow wide receiver Nico Collins (calf) doesn't have an injury designation after sitting out the Week 10 win over the Bengals. Official word on Brown's availability will be available 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff in Houston.
Nov 17, 2023
Not expected to face long-term absence
Though Brown is trending toward missing Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston notes that the wideout's knee issue isn't regarded as more than a one or two-week situation.
ANALYSIS
With Brown not practicing again Friday, per DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com, it appears likely that he'll be ruled out for Week 11 action once the Texans' final injury report is released. If that's the case, Nico Collins (calf) -- if available -- along with Tank Dell and Robert Woods would be in line to lead the team's WR corps this weekend.
Nov 17, 2023
Not expected to play Week 11
Brown (knee) didn't practice Friday and isn't likely to play in Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown piled up 325 yards and a touchdown in his previous two games, but it looks like he will be unable to build on that momentum against Arizona. Houston's hoping to get fellow wide receiver Nico Collins (calf) back from a one-game absence, while Tank Dell and Robert Woods should both see significant playing time at wide receiver assuming Brown is unavailable.
Nov 16, 2023
Missing another practice
Brown (knee) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown -- who is coming off back-to-back productive outings -- was also absent from Wednesday's session, so what he's able to do Friday should be pivotal with regard to his chances of being available Sunday against the Cardinals. On the plus side for the Texans, Nico Collins (calf) practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday, while Robert Woods (foot) was back on the field Thursday.
Nov 15, 2023
Misses practice
Brown missed Wednesday's practice with a knee injury.
ANALYSIS
Brown played a season-high 75 percent of snaps in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Bengals while recording a career-high 172 receiving yards (besting his previous mark of 153 yards from the previous game). His knee injury isn't necessarily serious, but there's another potential threat to the improbable production in the form of Nico Collins likely returning from the calf injury that kept him out for the past game and a half. Collins was a limited participant Wednesday while Brown and Robert Woods (foot) both sat out. At this point, Woods would seem to be the odd man out if/when everyone is healthy, considering Brown, Collins and rookie Tank Dell all have been far more explosive and productive.
Nov 12, 2023
One-ups Week 9 effort Sunday
Brown brought in seven of eight targets for 172 yards in the Texans' 30-27 win over the Bengals on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
A week after establishing a new career high with 153 receiving yards against the Buccaneers, Brown managed to outdo himself on an afternoon where more targets than usual were available due to the absence of Nico Collins (calf). Brown's reception and receiving yardage tallies were both team- and season-high figures, and he was second in targets only to Tank Dell. Brown's play over the last two weeks is likely to eventually push Robert Woods, who returned to action Sunday from a foot injury, into more of a No. 4 receiver role behind Collins, Dell and Brown.
Nov 5, 2023
Breaks out for career-best effort
Brown brought in all six targets for 153 yards and a touchdown in the Texans' 39-37 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Brown led the Texans in receiving yardage in the memorable victory, serving as the most prolific beneficiary of C.J. Stroud's record-setting 470-yard performance. The speedy veteran wideout garnered nearly half of his career-high yardage total on a 75-yard catch-and-run touchdown down the left sideline early in the third quarter, but his catch total was also a season high. Brown has multiple receptions in all four games he's suited up for this season, and now that he's clearly healthy, he could continue to carve out additional snaps as the current No. 3 receiver in the ongoing absence of Robert Woods (foot).
Oct 30, 2023
Yardage leader in loss
Brown caught three of five targets for 57 yards in Sunday's 15-13 loss to the Panthers in Week 8.
ANALYSIS
Brown led all offensive skill players in yards gained on a day when Houston's offense never got on track. He's been targeted 10 times over the last two games, although the Texans have not had a full complement of wideouts. Tank Dell missed the last game due to a concussion, and Robert Woods (foot) did not play Sunday. Dell emerged during Brown's four-week absence due to a groin injury and could be the true third wideout when all are healthy.
Oct 16, 2023
Five targets in return
Brown caught two of five targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 20-13 win over New Orleans in Week 6.
ANALYSIS
Brown was activated off the injured list and slipped into the third wideout role, playing 35 snaps. He had started the season as the third wide receiver, but while he nursed a groin injury, Tank Dell (concussion) became a legitimate competitor for snaps. Dell was inactive for Sunday's game but had returned to practice late in the week. The Texans are off Week 7, so a clearer picture will emerge Week 8 as to which player is the true third wideout behind Nico Collins and Robert Woods.
Oct 14, 2023
Available for Sunday
Brown (groin) was activated off injured reserve Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Brown played 49 offensive snaps Week 1 before suffering a groin injury that landed him on injured reserve. The emergence of Tank Dell (concussion) might make the former Cowboys wide receiver less of a factor upon his return, but the Texans do have multiple receivers in Dell and Robert Woods (ribs) listed as questionable for Sunday's contest.
Oct 11, 2023
Back at practice Wednesday
Brown (groin) returned to practice Wednesday and has been Designated to Return from injured reserve.
ANALYSIS
Brown's 21-day window to come back from injured reserve has been opened. He caught three of four targets for 20 yards in the season opener before spending four weeks on injured reserve, but the wide receiver could be back as soon as Sunday's game against the Saints, though Brown would first have to be reinstated from injured reserve. If he's activated by Sunday, Brown could be featured in three-receiver sets alongside Nico Collins and Robert Woods, as Tank Dell is in the NFL's concussion protocol.
Oct 11, 2023
Eligible to return Week 6
Brown (groin) is eligible to return to the active roster Week 6 against the Saints.
ANALYSIS
If Brown is designated to practice this week, the Texans would have a 21-day window to add him to the roster. With Tank Dell currently in concussion protocol and potentially unavailable against New Orleans, Brown becomes an option this week. John Metchie would also be in the mix as a Dell replacement.
Sep 13, 2023
Lands on IR
The Texans placed Brown, who is dealing with a groin injury, on IR on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, Brown's groin injury is viewed as a short-term injured reserve situation, which suggests that the wideout could be back in action as soon as Week 6. In Brown's looming absence, 2023 third-rounder Tank Dell figures to see added snaps alongside Nico Collins and Robert Woods.
Sep 11, 2023
Involved in Week 1 loss
Brown caught three of four targets for 20 yards and had one carry for minus-1 yards in Sunday's 25-9 loss to the Ravens in Week 1.
ANALYSIS
Brown was on the field for 52 snaps, just barely behind Robert Woods (58) and Nico Collins (54). As the Ravens bottled up Houston's ground game, quarterback C.J. Stroud threw 44 times, which created opportunities for the depth receivers.
Aug 20, 2023
Makes preseason debut
Brown caught one of three targets for 14 yards in Saturday's 28-3 preseason loss to Miami.
ANALYSIS
Brown didn't get on the field for Houston's preseason opener last week against New England, but he took on a prominent role Saturday with Tank Dell sidelined due to a leg injury. Brown was on the field for the Texans' first possession, which began at the Miami 7-yard line, and targeted twice on the team's second possession, Houston's only scoring drive. All of his target activity came on the first half with C.J. Stroud at quarterback.
Mar 14, 2023
Signing with Texans
Brown is in line to sign a one-year deal with the Texans, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
The 6-foot-2, 225 pounder, who posted career-highs with Dallas last season (43 catches for 555 yards and three touchdowns) adds size and experience to the Texans' wideout corps ahead of the coming season. However, the 27-year-old's fantasy upside hinges on what other moves the Texans make at the position, as well as how the team's quarterback situation plays out in advance of the regular season.
Jan 28, 2023
Posts career-best campaign
Brown caught 43 of 73 targets for 555 yards and three touchdowns over 16 games in 2022.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old came into the season with little fanfare and little career production on his resume, but Brown took advantage of a threadbare depth chart behind CeeDee Lamb early in the season to establish himself as a legitimate NFL receiving threat, posting an 18-274-1 line on 27 targets over the first four games of 2022 despite mostly working with backup QB Cooper Rush. Brown's numbers declined from that point once Michael Gallup rejoined the lineup, but he still flashed some upside later in the year, hauling in 85 yards against the Texans in Week 14 before catching two TDs from Dak Prescott in Week 15 against the Jaguars. An unrestricted free agent in the offseason, Brown's breakout could draw interest from other clubs and price him out of the Cowboys' 2023 plans.
Jan 9, 2023
Just one grab against Washington
Brown caught one of six targets for 10 yards in Sunday's loss to the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
He and Michael Gallup posted identical awful lines as Dak Prescott completed just 37.8 percent of his passes in the regular-season finale, leading to a season-worst performance by the Dallas offense as a whole. Brown caught only one pass in each of the last three games, ceding looks to T.Y. Hilton, and that's not likely to change in Monday's wild-card clash with the Buccaneers.
Dec 25, 2022
Role dwindles Saturday
Brown caught one of two targets for five yards in Saturday's win over the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
One week after Brown tied his career high with six catches in a two-touchdown performance, he was basically an afterthought in the Dallas offense and watched T.Y. Hilton haul in a huge 52-yard grab in his Cowboys debut. His blocking skills still had him on the field for 55 offensive snaps (76.4 percent), third among Dallas wideouts and well ahead of Hilton's 11, but the additional competition for targets from Dak Prescott will make Brown even more difficult to rely upon from a fantasy perspective.
Dec 22, 2022
Ready for Saturday
Brown (foot) doesn't have a designation for Saturday's game versus the Eagles, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
After being listed as limited on the Cowboys' first two practice reports of the week due to a foot injury, Brown managed to log every rep at Thursday's session, paving the way for him to make his 14th appearance of the season in 15 chances. He's hit a bit of a hot streak of late, gathering in 10 of 15 targets for 134 yards and two touchdowns over the last two contests. Brown may find the going tough, though, Saturday against Philadelphia's No. 1 ranked pass defense (172.4 yards per game).
Dec 21, 2022
Remains limited Wednesday
Brown (foot) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
One day removed from being listed as limited on the Cowboys' first Week 16 injury report due to a foot issue, Brown maintained that activity level Wednesday. He'll have one more chance to get back to full this week, at which point the team may clarify his availability ahead of Saturday's showdown with the Eagles. If he's able to suit up, Brown has put together back-to-back productive outings, amounting to 10 catches (on 15 targets) for 134 yards and two touchdowns.
Dec 20, 2022
Tending to foot issue
Brown was listed as limited by a foot injury on Tuesday's practice estimate, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
After a productive first four weeks of the season (18-274-1 line on 27 targets), Brown didn't surpass 50 receiving yards or score a touchdown in any of his next seven appearances. Over the last two games, though, he's found a groove with quarterback Dak Prescott, as he's hauled in 10 of 15 passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns. With a health concern plaguing Brown to begin Week 15 prep, his status should be watched as the week continues to get a sense of his potential to play Saturday versus the Eagles.
Dec 18, 2022
Two scores in loss
Brown recorded six receptions on nine targets for 49 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 40-34 loss to Jacksonville.
ANALYSIS
Brown surprisingly led Dallas in targets, though he fell behind CeeDee Lamb in both receptions and yards. The highlights of his performance came on his pair of touchdown grabs, which were from one and 13 yards away. Brown appears to have surpassed Michael Gallup in priority for targets, as he 15 looks combined across his last two games -- resulting in 134 yards and two scores.
Dec 12, 2022
Strong showing against Houston
Brown caught four of six targets for 85 yards in Sunday's 27-23 win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Most of that production came on a 51-yard reception to convert a third-and-13 early in the second quarter, but Brown was also clutch on the Cowboys' final series as he made a diving 18-yard catch with just 78 seconds left to help set up Ezekiel Elliott's game-winning score. It was Brown's best performance since he posted a 5-91-1 line back in Week 2, and it appears as though the sixth-year wideout has earned Dak Prescott's trust. Even with James Washington now active, Brown should retain a complementary role in the Dallas passing game for a Week 15 clash with the Jaguars.
Dec 5, 2022
Two catches against Colts
Brown caught both his targets for 15 yards in Sunday's win over the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Both catches came in the first quarter while the game was still in doubt, before the Cowboys' running game and defense began to dominate. Brown hasn't caught more than two passes in a game since Week 7, and with James Washington (foot) back at practice and Odell Beckham coming in for a visit, his role isn't like to grow.
Nov 21, 2022
Two grabs against Minnesota
Brown caught both his targets for 42 yards in Sunday's 40-3 win over the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
The Cowboys didn't need to attack downfield much with Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard accounting for two touchdowns each out of the backfield, but Brown still made an impact with a 35-yard catch in the third quarter that set up Zeke's second score of the day. Brown hasn't seen a significant role in the offense since Michael Gallup returned from a knee injury, and his snaps and targets could all but disappear down the stretch if Odell Beckham does end up landing in Dallas.
Nov 14, 2022
Just one catch in OT loss
Brown caught one of three targets for three yards in Sunday's overtime loss to the Packers.
ANALYSIS
After missing the Cowboys' last game before their Week 9 bye due to a foot injury, Brown saw his usual snap share in his return to action. His role as a receiver continues to dwindle, however -- after catching exactly five passes in three straight games to begin the season while Michael Gallup was out, Brown has just 11 receptions on 21 targets for 129 yards in five contests since Week 4. Barring an injury to Gallup or CeeDee Lamp, Brown's target volume isn't likely to increase significantly in Week 11 against the Vikings.
Nov 11, 2022
Good to go for Week 10
Brown (foot) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game at Green Bay, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown cleared up any concern about his availability for the Week 10 contest by practicing fully Friday. After missing his first game of the season in the Cowboys' Week 8 win over the Bears, the 26-year-old shouldn't face any major restrictions as he returns to the lineup following a bye week. Expect him to settle back in as Dallas' No. 3 wideout behind CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup.
Nov 10, 2022
Logs limited session Thursday
Brown (foot) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
Prior to sitting out Week 8 due to a foot injury, Brown didn't practice at all, so his ability to string together back-to-back capped sessions following the Cowboys' Week 9 bye is a positive sign for his upcoming availability. Friday's practice report could provide a clearer picture for his odds to suit up Sunday in Green Bay, and if he ends up active he'll continue to serve as the team's No. 3 wide receiver behind CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup.
Nov 9, 2022
Limited in practice
Brown (foot) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown and RB Ezekiel Elliott (foot) both missed their first game of the season Week 8, right before a Week 9 bye, and both returned to practice Wednesday as limited participants. While Elliott's status will be of more interest for fantasy purposes, Brown did top 50 yards five times in seven games before the foot injury, enjoying a breakout of sorts at age 26 . Jalen Tolbert filled in as the No. 3 receiver back in Week 8 when Brown was inactive, but the rookie wasn't targeted and played only 43 percent of snaps on offense (compared to 84 percent apiece for CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup).
Oct 30, 2022
Missing first game of season
Brown (foot) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bears, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown took a questionable tag into the weekend, despite not practicing in any fashion Wednesday through Friday. The Cowboys held out hope that the receiver might demonstrate enough progress in pregame warmups to suit up Sunday, but he'll ultimately miss his first game of the season. With Brown in street clothes, rookie Jalen Tolbert could get a look in the No. 3 receiver role behind CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup.
Oct 28, 2022
Questionable after missed practice
Brown (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears, Patrick Walker of the Cowboys' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown handled a full workload in last week's win over the Lions but then was held out of practice all this week. He thus appears truly questionable ahead of the 1:00 ET kickoff, with KaVontae Turpin and Jalen Tolbert on hand to fill in at wide receiver if Brown can't play.
Oct 27, 2022
Sits out again Thursday
Brown (foot) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Brown has opened Week 8 prep with no activity for two days in a row, raising the prospect that he may be unavailable to the Cowboys offense Sunday against the Bears. Ultimately, his status may receive some clarity on Friday's injury report, and if he begins to trend to sitting out this weekend, CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup would serve as the main wide receivers for quarterback Dak Prescott.
Oct 26, 2022
Tending to foot issue
Brown didn't practice Wednesday due to a foot injury, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown has been a regular in the Cowboys' passing game all season, logging between 77 and 91 percent of the offensive snaps weekly and producing five occasions of 50-plus yards in seven contests. With no activity whatsoever to begin Week 8 prep, though, his status will be one to watch Thursday and Friday to get a sense of his availability (or lack thereof) for Sunday's contest against the Bears.
Oct 24, 2022
Co-leads team in receptions
Brown secured five of seven targets for 50 yards and lost a fumble in the Cowboys' 24-6 win over the Lions on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Brown tied Dalton Schultz for the team lead in receptions and checked in second in receiving yards to CeeDee Lamb, making it a solid bounce-back effort after posting a combined 2-15 line in the prior two games. As Sunday's showing indicates, Brown could be a beneficiary of more consistent production now that Dak Prescott is back under center, and he'll aim to build on his showing in a Week 8 battle against the Bears.
Oct 17, 2022
Only one catch Sunday
Brown caught one of three targets for 10 yards in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old wideout very nearly had a spectacular touchdown catch in the back corner of the end zone just before halftime, but upon review it was ruled he didn't get a second foot or other body part down in bounds after securing the ball. Brown has seen his target volume dwindle the last couple games with Michael Gallup back in action, but the entire Cowboys passing game could get a boost in Week 7 if Dak Prescott (thumb) is able to return to action.
Oct 10, 2022
One catch against Rams
Brown caught one of two targets for five yards in a Week 5 win over the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Michael Gallup was a little more involved in his second game back from a knee injury, hauling in four of five targets to top Brown's output, but the latter was still on the field for 76 percent of the Cowboys' offensive snaps (42 of 55) compared to Gallup's 55 percent (30 snaps). The entire Dallas passing game will likely need to be a lot more involved in Week 6 against the Eagles -- Cooper Rush attempted only 16 passes against the Rams, with the defense, running game and special teams all dominating -- so even as the No. 3 option, Brown could see a big increase in volume Sunday night in Philadelphia.
Oct 5, 2022
Practices in full Wednesday
Brown (neck) practiced fully Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown exited the Cowboys' Week 4 win against the Commanders in the fourth quarter due to a neck injury, but it didn't hold him back during the first session of Week 5 prep. Assuming he avoids a game-day designation ahead of Sunday's contest at the Rams, he'll be a part of a receiving corps headed by CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup. In Gallup's season debut this past Sunday, he logged 61 percent of the snaps on offense, while Brown managed 79 percent.
Oct 3, 2022
Should practice ahead of Week 5
Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Brown should practice ahead of Week 5 after leaving Sunday's win over the Commanders due to a neck injury, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown caught three of six targets for 61 yards before leaving the contest with a neck issue, but McCarthy said he got a "good report" and expects Brown to be okay heading into the team's Week 5 matchup against the Rams. Michael Gallup (knee) made his season debut, but he didn't significantly impact Brown's production. Through four games, fifth-year wideout has caught 18 of 27 targets for 274 yards and one touchdown. Despite McCarthy's comments, fantasy managers should still monitor Brown's practice statuses throughout the week to make sure he's still on track to play against Los Angeles.
Oct 2, 2022
Hurts neck Sunday
Brown injured his neck during Sunday's 25-10 win against the Commanders, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
During the fourth quarter, Brown ran to the sideline, seemingly favoring his left arm, but he eventually was deemed questionable to return due to a neck issue. He was unable to retake the field, ending his day with three catches (on six targets) for 61 yards. Michael Gallup (knee) was back in the lineup Sunday and figures to earn more work as he gets his feet under him, which could hinder Brown's potential moving forward. First, though, Brown may have some practice limitations this week as the Cowboys prepare for next Sunday's visit to the Rams.
Sep 27, 2022
Commands seven targets
Brown recorded five receptions on seven targets for 54 yards in Monday's 23-16 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Brown finished second on the team with seven targets, behind only CeeDee Lamb. While he was moderately productive, Brown narrowly missed a touchdown for the second consecutive game after he was tackled at the one-yard line late in the third quarter. Despite producing admirably through three weeks, Brown's involvement in the Cowboys' offense could be in jeopardy moving forward as both Michael Gallup (knee) and Dalton Schultz (knee) are nearing their returns to the field.
Sep 18, 2022
Scores first career TD
Brown caught all five of his targets for 91 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
The depth receiver was Cooper Rush's most reliable option on the day, and Brown not only led Dallas in receiving yards, he caught his first career NFL touchdown in the first quarter on a nine-yard strike from Rush. Michael Gallup (knee) appears close to rejoining the lineup however, and this performance may well end up being the high-water mark for Brown this season heading into a Week 3 clash with a Giants secondary that has yet to allow more than 66 receiving yards to a WR.
Sep 12, 2022
Leading receiver in loss
Brown caught five of nine targets for 68 yards in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
The Cowboys' offense managed only three points in a brutal performance, but Brown at least held his own as the team's No. 2 wide receiver and led Dallas in receiving yards while the Tampa Bay secondary worked to shut down CeeDee Lamb (2-29 on a team-high 11 targets). Making matters worse, Dak Prescott suffered a hand injury late in the contest that will require surgery and keep him sidelined for multiple weeks. Cooper Rush is the next man up under center, but the entire Cowboys passing game will take a step back without Prescott, and Brown could face additional competition for snaps and targets from Michael Gallup (knee) as soon as a Week 2 clash with the Bengals.

Good to go
Brown (toe) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown is ready for the opener after missing some time this summer with a minor toe injury, and he could have a significant role with Michael Gallup (knee) expected to miss at least one game. CeeDee Lamb is the only Dallas wide receiver who can be considered a lock for significant volume, with Brown, Jalen Tolbert, Dennis Houston, Simi Fehoko and KaVontae Turpin the other options. Tolbert has generated the most fantasy interest and should get a lot of the slot snaps, but Brown could also have a regular role for the first week or two.

Misses practice
Brown missed practice Thursday with a toe injury, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown sat out the Cowboys' second joint practice with the Chargers due to a toe injury, though it is not expected to be a long-term issue. Fellow wideout CeeDee Lamb (foot laceration) also missed practice, so the team is without some of its more experienced pass catchers as they prepare for their preseason contest against the Chargers on Saturday. Brown remains the favorite to open the season as the No. 3 wide receiver behind Lamb and rookie Jalen Tolbert assuming that Michael Gallup (knee) is not ready for Week 1.
Aug 14, 2022
Not active in preseason opener
Brown (coach's decision) did not play in the Cowboys' 17-7 preseason loss to the Broncos on Saturday night.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Mike McCarthy opted to give rookie third-round pick Jalen Tolbert plenty of run and notably kept Brown on the sideline alongside No. 1 wideout CeeDee Lamb. The 26-year-old is likely to open the season as the No. 3 wideout behind Lamb and Tolbert if Michael Gallup (knee) remains sidelined to open the regular season as expected.
Aug 3, 2022
No competition incoming
Brown will get an opportunity in training camp to prove the Cowboys don't need to bring in veteran help at wide receiver, David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
James Washington's foot injury bumps Brown up to the No. 3 spot on the Dallas depth chart behind CeeDee Lamb and 2022 third-round pick Jalen Tolbert, and owner/GM Jerry Jones made it clear Tuesday the team wasn't going to rush out and sign a veteran. "I'm plenty satisfied [with our depth],'' Jones told reporters. "There's no urgency in looking for a veteran receiver.'' The team could certainly change course after seeing how that depth looks in the preseason, but for now Brown will get a chance to prove he can handle a regular role in the passing game after spending the first four seasons of his NFL career seeing as much time on special teams as on offense.
Aug 2, 2022
Headed for bigger role
Brown figures to be the next man at wide receiver after James Washington suffered a fractured foot Monday and will miss 6-10 weeks, Rob Phillips of the Cowboys' official website reports.
ANALYSIS
CeeDee Lamb is the clear top option at wideout, and 2022 third-round pick Jalen Tolbert was already expected to get as much of a workload as he could handle, so Brown is the player on the current roster most likely to see increased snaps and targets with Washington sidelined. The 26-year-old is also the only Dallas receiver other than Lamb who has caught a pass in the NFL in their career. The Cowboys could also sign a veteran free agent such as Will Fuller or Emmanuel Sanders before Week 1, however, keeping Brown in a depth role.

Back on practice field
Brown worked with Dallas' second-team offense Thursday after being sidelined with a hamstring injury during minicamp in June, Mickey Spagnola of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown is officially active in practice once again after signing a one-year, $895,000 deal to return to the Cowboys in March. The fifth-year wideout brought in a career-high 16 of 25 targets for 184 yards over 13 games last year, but he should push for an increased role in Dallas' passing game after the departure of wideouts Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson this offseason. Brown likely will compete with rookie Jalen Tolbert and former Steeler James Washington for the Cowboy's No. 3 wide-receiver spot during training camp.

Dealing with minor hamstring injury
Brown was sidelined during the Cowboys' minicamp practices due to a minor hamstring injury, Mickey Spagnola of Dallas' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown signed a one-year deal to return to Dallas at the beginning of March, and while the wideout has been sidelined during offseason work, he's expected to be full go by training camp. Brown finished the 2021 campaign with 16 catches on 25 targets for 184 yards over 13 games.
Mar 8, 2022
Signs one-year deal with Dallas
Brown signed a one-year contract with the Cowboys on Tuesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown, who was drafted by Dallas in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft, will stick with the franchise for a fifth season. He finished the 2021 campaign with 16 catches on 25 targets for 184 yards over 13 games, though a significant amount of that production (six catches for 53 yards) came in a Thanksgiving loss to the Raiders when both CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper were sidelined. Brown is expected to once again operate as a depth wideout for the Cowboys in 2022.
Jan 19, 2022
Modest numbers in 2021
Brown caught 16 of 25 targets for 184 yards over 13 games this season.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year wideout split his time between offense and special teams once again, and a significant chunk of his production (six catches for 53 yards) came in a Thanksgiving loss to the Raiders when both CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper were sidelined. Brown is a free agent this offseason, but he's useful enough as a depth piece to be brought back unless he wants an opportunity to compete for a starting role elsewhere.
Jan 1, 2022
Comes off IR
Brown (groin) was activated from injured reserve Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Brown has a chance for his first game action since Week 13 against the Saints. Prior to hitting IR, the 25-year-old had been good for two or three targets most weeks.
Dec 29, 2021
Returning to practice
The Cowboys plan to designate Brown (groin) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown missed the last three games with a groin injury, but he's slated to return to practice Wednesday. Whether he's available for Sunday's game against Arizona remains to be seen.
Dec 9, 2021
Shifts to injured reserve
Brown (groin) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown was already ruled out for Sunday's matchup with Washington due to the groin injury, but he'll also be sidelined for at least two additional games. The 25-year-old will be eligible to be activated Week 17 against the Cardinals.
Dec 9, 2021
Out Week 14 with groin injury
Head coach Mike McCarthy said Thursday that Brown is dealing with a groin injury that will sideline the receiver for Sunday's game against Washington, and possibly additional contests to follow, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown appeared on the Cowboys' initial Week 14 injury report Wednesday after he didn't take any reps in practice, but the team hadn't previously disclosed that the receiver was banged up at any point during last week's win over the Saints. McCarthy shed more light on the situation Thursday, and after the coach described Brown's groin issue as a "couple-week injury," the Ohio State product looks like he'll face an uphill battle to make it back for the Cowboys' Week 15 game against the Giants, too. After turning in a 6-53-0 receiving line on nine targets while playing a season-high 94 percent of the Cowboys' offensive snaps in a Thanksgiving Day loss to the Raiders, Brown predictably saw his snap share take a big step back (to 18 percent) last week following the returns of Amari Cooper (reserve/COVID-19 list) and CeeDee Lamb (concussion) to the lineup. Brown will likely be limited to a depth role within the Dallas receiving corps once he moves past his groin injury.
Dec 3, 2021
Two catches Thursday
Brown caught two of three targets for 14 yards in Thursday's 27-17 win over the Saints.
ANALYSIS
The Cowboys nearly had their full complement of wideouts available again, but with Cedrick Wilson (ankle) sidelined and Amari Cooper having a limited workload in his return from the COVID-19 list, there were still opportunities for Brown and other depth receivers to see some looks. Brown has set career highs this season with 16 catches on 25 targets for 184 yards, but he's still looking for his first NFL touchdown.
Nov 22, 2021
Can't haul in targets Sunday
Brown failed to catch either of his two targets in Sunday's loss to Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Drops were an issue for Dallas wideouts in general Sunday, but Brown was the first to put the ball on the carpet on a catchable pass from Dak Prescott. The Cowboys' depth options at wide receiver were forced to see more action than usual with Amari Cooper sidelined due to COVID-19 and then CeeDee Lamb leaving the game early with a concussion, and that trend could continue into Week 12's Thanksgiving Day contest. Even if both Lamb and Cooper are out for Thursday's game against the Raiders, however, Brown will still be behind Michael Gallup and Cedrick Wilson in the pecking order and would have to battle Malik Turner for the No. 3 role, giving him limited fantasy appeal.
Oct 18, 2021
Two grabs against Pats
Brown caught both of his targets for 47 yards in Sunday's overtime win over the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
The yardage was a season high for Brown, who has posted a surprising 5-83 line on six targets over the last two games. With Michael Gallup (calf) potentially ready to come off IR after the Cowboys' Week 7 bye, however, Brown's modest role in the offense could be close to drying up.
Sep 9, 2021
Absent Thursday
Brown (coach's decision) is listed as inactive Thursday at Tampa Bay, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown recently spent a spell on the reserve/COVID-19 list after testing positive for the virus, so the missed time may have contributed to his absence. The Cowboys instead will have rookie fifth-round pick Simi Fehoko on hand as their fifth wide receiver.
Sep 8, 2021
Off COVID-19 list
The Cowboys activated Brown (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
On Tuesday, coach Mike McCarthy told Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that of the Cowboys on the COVID list, guard Brandon Knight (undisclosed) had the best odds to suit up Thursday at Tampa Bay. However, Knight and Zack Martin (illness) remain on the list, while Brown now will have a chance to suit up in the season opener. Brown is buried on the wide receiver depth chart and doesn't have utility as a returner, meaning McCarthy may opt to include Brown on the inactive list Thursday.
Sep 7, 2021
Tests positive for COVID-19
Coach Mike McCarthy said Tuesday that Brown (illness) tested positive for COVID-19 which rules him out for Thursday's contest against the Buccaneers, Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown caught 14 passes for 154 yards in 16 games last season, but he will miss at least the first week of the 2021 season after testing positive for COVID-19. It's unknown if he was vaccinated or not, which significantly affects the amount of time he is forced to be away from the team. After the early Thursday game, Brown will have 10 days to clear protocols before the Cowboys' Week 2 contest against the Chargers.
Aug 31, 2021
Lands on COVID list
Brown (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, Rob Phillips of the Cowboys' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown caught 14 passes for 154 yards in 16 games last season and will open 2021 on the COVID-19 list. He'll remain away from the team until he clears the health and safety protocols.
Mar 15, 2021
Re-signs with Dallas
Brown (back) signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys on Monday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old primarily played on special teams for Dallas in 2020, but he still set career highs with 14 receptions for 154 yards. Brown figures to fill a similar role for the Cowboys in 2021.
Jan 3, 2021
Officially out
Brown (back) is officially listed as out after suffering a back injury during Sunday's game, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown left Sunday's game after suffering a back injury. The wide receiver plays a depth role, recording 14 receptions for 154 yards this season. Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup will continue as the primary receivers while the Cowboys remain on the hunt for NFC East title.
Dec 21, 2020
One catch in Sunday's win
Brown caught one of six targets for 13 yards and added four rushing yards on one carry in Sunday's win over the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
With Amari Cooper being held in check by the Niners' secondary and Michael Gallup (hip) exiting the game late, Andy Dalton found himself looking for other options. The result was Brown's largest target volume of the season, albeit the extra looks didn't turn into much production. If Gallup is forced to miss more time, Brown could be elevated to the No. 3 receiver role in Week 16 against the Eagles.
Dec 15, 2020
Held without catch against Bengals
Brown was untargeted over eight offensive snaps during Sunday's 30-7 win against Cincinnati.
ANALYSIS
Brown had only garnered 39 combined offensive snaps over his preceding three appearances coming into Week 14, but he attracted a target on over 15 percent of those plays. In fact, the Ohio State product has posted six different outings with multiple targets this season despite being started at wide receiver just once. Brown's output was more reflective of his low snap count Week 14, and he'll remain a depth option for Dallas' receiving corps Sunday against the injury-depleted 49ers secondary.
Dec 9, 2020
Three grabs in Baltimore
Brown caught three of four targets for 40 yards in Tuesday's loss to the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
It was his best performance since Dak Prescott (ankle) got hurt, and the first time Brown hauled in multiple passes since Week 6. The Cowboys' receiving corps remains stacked -- even behind the team's big three of Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup, Brown isn't the clear No. 4 option ahead of Cedrick Wilson -- but as long as the defense keeps digging big holes for the passing game to climb out of, Brown could have occasionally productive outings.
Oct 20, 2020
Catches both targets
Brown caught both of targets for 15 yards in Monday's 38-10 loss to the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
The depth wideout has done well in his limited opportunities, but he's still only seen 10 targets through six weeks. Cedrick Wilson appeared to injure his ribs in the third quarter which could afford Brown a few more snaps if Wilson is unable to play next week. It'll still take a couple of injuries to the top of the Cowboys' depth chart for Brown to really become a fantasy factor.
Oct 5, 2020
Four grabs in loss
Brown caught all four of his targets for 43 yards in Sunday's loss to the Browns.
ANALYSIS
While the numbers were fairly modest, Brown set new career highs in receptions, yards and targets on a day when eight different Cowboys caught multiple passes from Dak Prescott. He remains low on the depth chart, but Dallas' No. 5 wideout could continue to find his way onto the box score if the team's defense remains one of the worst units in the NFL, forcing Prescott into shootouts on a weekly basis.
Sep 21, 2020
Makes two catches Sunday
Brown caught both his targets for 28 yards in Sunday's comeback win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Both grabs came in the fourth quarter as the Cowboys mounted their improbable comeback, and while Brown's second reception went into the books as a 20-yard gain, it would have been much longer had his run after the catch not been wiped out by a penalty on CeeDee Lamb. Brown missed all of last season while recovering from knee surgery, but he's healthy now and is pushing Cedrick Wilson for the No. 4 spot on the Dallas depth chart at WR.
Aug 19, 2020
Back in action
Brown (knee) has been a full participant during training camp, Jess Haynie of Inside the Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown resided on the PUP list for much of last season after he underwent his second knee surgery. This news is obviously a positive sign for his chances to make the roster, as he appears locked in a battle for one of the final roster spots with Ventell Bryant at receiver. Since being selected by Dallas in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Brown has suited up in 21 games, catching nine passes for 87 yards.
Nov 19, 2019
Shut down for season
Brown (knee) won't return from the PUP list this season after undergoing a second surgery, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Cowboys hoped to activate Brown at some point this season, but he couldn't shake his lingering knee issue. The 23-year-old will go under the knife again to put him on track for the offseason program. Since being selected by Dallas in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Brown has suited up in 21 games, catching nine passes for 87 yards.
Oct 16, 2019
Not ready to practice
The Cowboys won't begin Brown's (knee) three-week practice window yet, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown's currently on the PUP list, and the Cowboys have until Nov. 4 to allow him to start practicing. Once he begins practicing, Brown has three weeks to be activated or else he'll be shut down for the season. Brown doesn't offer much offensive upside with just five catches for 54 yards last year, but he could be valuable depth since Amari Cooper (quadriceps) and Randall Cobb (back) are dealing with injuries.
Aug 29, 2019
Likely to begin season on PUP list
Brown (knee) will probably begin the regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, John Owning of The Dallas Morning News reports.
ANALYSIS
The receiver would then have to miss at least the first six weeks of the season before being activated. While Brown's own recovery from minor knee surgery over the summer is a factor here, the bigger consideration is that both Cedrick Wilson and Devin Smith seem to have played their way onto the 53-man roster with strong preseasons and training camps, creating the need for an extra roster spot even if Brown will be ready to play before the six weeks are up.
